Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is high school basketball on ninety four Country WKKJ.
Now let's hit the game site for today's pregame show
on ninety four Country.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Hello and welcome to Zane Trace High School, host of
tonight's Hernstein Hyundai SVC Game of the Week Here between
Zane Trace Pioneers and the West Fall Mustangs. I'm Chris
Post is joined alongside by my father. Tonight coach Loop
Post is coach. Good to have you.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
It's good to be here, and this is going to
be a whale basketball game tonight. I think this Westfall
team can really put up some points. They have two
of the premier scorers in the league with Joe Ray
and Brian Craigan. This you know, Zane Trace team has
only has one league loss and that was to Unioto
in that first game I believe up at Westfall it

(00:54):
was a three point ball game. So this West Fall
I think team, We're coming in with four league losses,
but they are very capable of beating anyone at any time.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
The Aine Trace Pioneers come in with a record of
fourteen and two, ten and one in the SPC, Westfall
seven to nine overall, seven and four in the SPC.
Last time out for the west Fall Mustangs. That was
Saturday night. They came out Victoria's sixty five sixty four
Methiller and Williamsport. Joe Ray leading all scores that game

(01:26):
with twenty six and Craign Hicks adding sixteen and fifteen
a piece for the z Ain Trace Pioneers. It was
a fifty six forty nine victory at McLean High School.
We look at that game Saturday night, Joe Ray twenty
six points.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
Yeah, Joe Ray, without a doubt, has been one of
the best scores in this league over the last two years.
I believe he led the league in scoring last year,
but he could not finish out the year because of
a transfer rule. And this year he is leading the
league in scoring, averaging I think just under twenty four
points a game. So he can really fill it up

(02:03):
and if he gets going, it's going to be very difficult.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
For this Zane team.

Speaker 3 (02:08):
Now you look at Zane Trace, they can also put
up some points and they have some big time scorers
on their team. Theirs is a little bit more spread
out than west Falls, where Westfall really relies on Craig
and Ray.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
Getting to the Zane Trace team, we saw him on
Friday night at Paint Valley where they had an impressive
victory sixty eight forty four over the Bearcats. Leading scorers
that game was Grady Stewart. McCallum was seventeen Jerald with thirteen.
Really a good showing by Stewart that.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
Night, it sure was, And it was a game where
Paint Valley really came out of the gates strong against
Zane Trace. But Zane Trace can just wear on you
over the course of the game. They have a nice rotation,
they can bring guys off the bench like Noah Houston,
and they just wore down the Paint Valley team and
was able to get a nice.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
Victory on the road.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
And then they went on the road again on Saturday
and had a nice non league victory over McClain.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
So this Zane Trace team is getting.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
Better as the year goes on and as Landon Gerald
gets more games under his belt. Remember he still hasn't
played ten games this year, so he's getting better and
better as well.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
Another guy I know you like for Zane Traces Landon Robinson,
and really not a good game for him the other
day against Peyton Valley and foul trouble all night. Really
nothing to his fault, just wrong place, wrong time. But
he's leading the SVC and assists with six point four
per game and does a lot for his injury.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
He does a lot for this team, a lot that
doesn't go noticed by people just sitting in the stands.
But he's been around for a while. He's a senior now,
he's played a lot. He played a lot as a sophomore,
as a junior. He's won a lot of the ball
games here in Zane Trace, and he is just as
calm as can be on the basketball floor. He is

(03:58):
probably the most steady influence on this team.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
And boy, it's just as a coach you just love
to have those types of players. Almost two months ago
since these teams last meet, it was Zane Trace coming
out Victoria's forty seven to forty four that game over
and Williams Sport. The two leading scorers for each team
was Ezra Rippeth for the Pioneers with twelve and Brian
Craig of Westfall with fifteen. You look at those two names, ever,

(04:25):
Rippeth back in the starting lineup to night, usually role
players for these teams, but that just shows that it
could be anybody's anybody's game for both these teams.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
Yeah, this Saint Trad's team, believe it or not. If
you go back and look at some of the scoring,
they have had five or six guys I believe scored
double figures in games. And that's really deep on a
high school basketball team when you can have that many
guys get into double figures. And I believe at least
four of them have scored twenty points any games. So

(04:54):
that's a good thing to have as a coach. But
the thing that really stands about stands out about this
Zane Trad team is their defense. They really caused problems
on the opposing teams.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
We look back at the first game, I believe what
we say. That score was forty seven forty four. Hold
West fall to forty four points in a game is
a really good feat and that's where I think Zane
Trace really plays well against their opponents. As we look
at the RPI rankings, Zane Trace coming in fifth in

(05:28):
their district with six point six two four, Westball tenth
at point four to four. Of these two teams in
different divisions now and both in the Southeast district two
more weeks left improve those statistics. Only this is the
final week for all girls action, But what can we
make of those standards?

Speaker 3 (05:46):
Yeah, and again first year with seven different divisions and basketball,
so we see the SPC a lot more spread out
than we normally see them. We see the SBC, I believe,
what from Division four all the way down to Division six.

Speaker 2 (06:02):
So that's good for the SVC.

Speaker 3 (06:04):
But I think both these teams are hoping to get
nice tournament draws, even with Westfall and Division five at.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
A ten seat.

Speaker 3 (06:14):
You know, I know some teams that are probably a
little higher than that don't want to see a team
like Westfall on their line come tournament time. But the
next two weeks are really gonna make a big difference
a lot of teams. I know Westfall has I believe
four games left before that tournament draw, and I believe
Zane Trace has three, so a lot of big movement

(06:37):
can happen in the next two weeks.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
Yeah. Definitely different from back in the times when I
played and you coached, it seemed like you always running
into another league sectional and it's always tough to play
a team three times.

Speaker 3 (06:49):
It sure is, so it'll be interesting to say how
this year plays out with these new divisions and hopefully
we get a better basketball, better brand of basketball, especially
right from the opening games, because that's what these that's
what it was meant to do, to make it more competitive,
shall I say? With the OHSA Tournament.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
Other SVC action, Tonight Adena host Huntington Fightings taking on
Peebles Jackson U Yoda at Jackson, and then over on

that's over on our Sisters station. We'll take a quick

starters of tonight's contest. You're listening to the Hernstein Hyundai

Back here at Zay and Trace High School quickly, we'll
go over a coach and look at the starters for
tonight's contest.

Speaker 3 (08:52):
Yeah, for the visitors on the scoreboard, the West Fall
Mustang they will start junior Joe Ray soft More, Brian Craig,
Senior Hayden Rigsby. I believe number five Brock Williams and
he's a sophomore and a senior number thirty two Jacob Hicks.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
So again for Westfall Mustangs.

Speaker 3 (09:16):
That'll be Ray, Craig, Rigsby, Williams and Hicks. For the
home team, the Zane Trays Pioneers, they will start senior
five eight guard Landon Jerrold a six ' four junior,
Grady Stewart a senior five ten, Ezra Rippeth senior Landon

(09:42):
Robinson at six two, and also Gunner McCullough goes at
six ' three.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
He is a junior.

Speaker 3 (09:50):
So again for Zane Trace, it'll be Landon, Gerald, Grady Stewart,
Ezra Rippeth, Landon Robinson, and Gunner McCall law.

Speaker 2 (10:02):
Offensively for the Zaying Trace Pioneers, they come in winners
of seven straight averaging fifty six point eight points per
game only thirty nine point six points given up per
game at a whopping differential plus seventeen for the West
Mustangs averaging fifty five point five fifty five point four
points per game given up eight that's a minus two
point six. Gonna recall the leading scorer for the Zaying

(10:24):
Trace Pioneers pretty efficient, shooting eighty fifty eight percent from
the field goal. Yeah that is.

Speaker 3 (10:30):
And again he he's really good inside at using his
body and being the right place at the right time.

Speaker 2 (10:40):

Where welcome back to zay Trace High School starters being
announced here as we're moments away from tip off her
Zane Trace. They're in their home, white red numbers and
letters with the blue tram for West Father in the road, reds,

(13:51):
white numbers and gray tram coach. Last doc before we
get this one underway.

Speaker 3 (13:57):
Well, you know, you look at the Zay Trace team,
they're tied to top the SBC with Uniodo. They know
they have a big game coming up with U Niyodo
on Friday night.

Speaker 2 (14:06):
But this west Fall team definitely has their attention.

Speaker 3 (14:10):
They know that game they've played at the beginning of
the year at west Fall, so they know this team
is capable. I'm sure they're focused. A lot of veteran
players here on this Saint Traise team. This west Fall
team once and knows they can play with anyone, So
I'm sure I hope we're in for a dandie football game.

Speaker 2 (14:30):
Got McCalla and Craig to do the jump ball. The
ball is up and controlled by Westfall. That is, Greg
gets it over to Rigsby. Rigby dribbles the top of
the key, looks back door for Craig. Craig puts it up.
No good block thereby Robinson rob loose, ball goes out
of bounds there. It looked like mccallull lost it off
his foot and that's going to stay here with the Mustangs.

Speaker 3 (14:52):
And again that shows you that defense of Zane Trace,
they can get their hands on a lot of basketballs.
Whether it be tip shots, so tip passes, they just
cause a lot of havoc for the offensive teams.

Speaker 2 (15:06):
Ray driving kicks it out to Rigsby. Rixby's three from
the wing. That's good, Hayden Rigsby, And again he's a
capable scorer. He's been in double figures many times. That
was a nice three by him. Looks like we're gonna
see a little bit of zone here by west Fall.
Ray at top of the zone picks up Jarrel, Jeryl
crossport to Robinson. Robinson, assessing the defense, backs it out

(15:29):
and gets it back over to Gerald. Jerald thinks about three.
He gets it to Robinson. Robinson's gonna try a three
from the corner. That draws front iron rebounded there by
Rigsby of west Fall quickly the other way, looking up court,
and that passes out of bounds. Will be a turnover Mustangs.

Speaker 3 (15:44):
Yeah, if you're the Mustangs, you cannot afford to have
many turnovers. And again that's an unforced turnover. You are
trying to be aggressive, but that was not caused by
the defense.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
Jerald gets it across the timeline. West Fall still in
that one three to one zone. Jerrold inside the mccallo
free throw line gets it back to Jerald Gerald. The
Rippings in the corner crossport to Robinson at the timeline
nearly steps on it. That keeps it head and play driving.
Is Robinson past tipped and stolen away by the Mustangs.

(16:16):
That was Rigsby. Another turnover, this time for the Pioneers. Yeah,
if you're Zame Trace, you got to play through that
high post. Got to play through mccallough against head zone
and attack it. Ray calling out the offense for the
Mustangs in the corner. That's Rigsby up top to Williams.

(16:37):
Williams spinning up the Hicks. Hicks looking to drive, kicks
it out to Craig. Craig picked up by Stewart. Craig
at the top of the key, gets it over to Williams,
hands it there to Rigsby, picks up the top back
to Ray. Ray rejecting the Higgs screen driving baseline gets
to the block shot up and that was blocked by Robinson.

(17:00):
Another block for Robinson in the corner. That's Craig. Craig
float shot in the lane that's in.

Speaker 3 (17:08):
Yeah, Craig's a lengthy guard and he can get a
lot of places very similar to Grady Stewart.

Speaker 2 (17:14):
Five nothing in the Mustangs leave five point fifty left
to go in the first quarter, Jarro up top zone
defense for the pint for the Mustangs. Jerald deep three
top the feet, that's good lane and Jerald, Yeah, it's
good to see him hitting from three. He's struggled from
long range so far since coming back. We know he

(17:35):
can get to the bucket. But if he can start
hitting those long ridge shop that only help Zane Trace.
He passed from Ray to Hicks, was Stown away there
by Robinson controlled by Rippith Rippeth the other way into
the lane outside to Jerald. Jerald one step inside and
that's good. Deep two land and Gerald ties it at five.

Speaker 3 (17:55):
Getting nice attacking offense there by Zane Trace off the
turnover full court zone.

Speaker 2 (18:01):
Pressure here by the Pioneers. Ray cross Court gets it
to Craig and breaks the press. Ray on the wing
picked up by a rip it off the screen by
Williams at the top of the key looking to drive,
gets it down to the block. Scoop shot up and
good tough shot there by Ray.

Speaker 3 (18:21):
They can really shoot it from the outside, but he
can also take it quick to the bucket.

Speaker 2 (18:25):
Jerald another three from the wing that's no good. Rebound
goes to Craig seven to five, Mustang's lead four point
thirty left to go in the first quarter. Craig getting
all the way to the block spinning, gets it out
to Ray and that was tipped out of bounds there
by landing Jerrold. We got a lot of action here
early on in the game, up and down. We got
three s Felps coming in here for Westfall free subs

(18:46):
for the west Fall Ethan Rose, Nathan Wolf, and Caleb
Low checked in for the Mustangs. Sideline out of bounds.
Ray gets it in to Wolf, back to Ray Low
with a screen. Ray at the top of the key,
picked up by Robinson. Ray's going to try deep free

(19:08):
from the top of the key. That draws back iron
long rebound controlled there by Robinson up the right side
to rip it back to Robinson wide open the top
of the Key's going to try a three. That one
rattles out rebound by Stewart. Stewart second chance.

Speaker 3 (19:22):
Up and good, a really good job of going to
the bucket thereby Grady Stewart. He hasn't had a lot
of stuff offensively happened for him, but again moving without
the basketball going and getting that rebound.

Speaker 2 (19:35):
Kickball violation's gonna make it a sideline out of bounds
for the Mustangs. Zane Trace, still in their three quarter
court zone. Pressure here, Ray right at the timeline, gets
it across over too low low in the corner to
Rose Rose driving picked up at the block up top

(19:56):
Ray from the wing, his three rattles out long rebound
coach controlled there by Wolf of the Mustangs in the
corner cross sports stolen away by McCollough. McCalla going the
other way, loses his dribble and gets it out to Stuart.
Stuart driving baseline cross sport to Robinson finds his way
to rip it on the wing, his three, no good

(20:17):
rebound again by Stuart. Second chance, no good rebound controlled
thereby Ray of the Mustangs. Ray on the wings, driving spinning,
and we're gonna have a foul there. I believe that's
going to be on Ezra Rippeth. That will be on
the floor be baseline out of bounds for the Mustangs.

Speaker 3 (20:36):
Yeah, that last offensive possession for Zane Tray's great ball
movement and again they got another second chance opportunity to
just couldn't put it in the thing about Joe Ray
is he goes to the bucket, He's hard to get
a charge on because he does a lot of twisting
and moving around in there and bound stolen there by Robinson.

Speaker 2 (20:53):
Robinson up the right side, cross cord to mccallough at
the bucket for two.

Speaker 14 (20:59):
Ye.

Speaker 3 (21:00):
Great job of running the floor there by gunner McCollum
and making himself available.

Speaker 2 (21:04):
Pioneers have their first lead of the night, ninety seven
stolen away by the Pioneers again, rip it at the
block he's shot. No good goes out of bounds. It
was stripped out of bounds there by the Westfall Mustangs,
and we're going to have our first time out score
nine seven Pioneers lead with two forty eight left to
go here in the first quarter, we'll take quick break.

(21:25):

Back here at Zane Trace High School, there will be
a baseline out of bounds for the Pioneers. They lead
nine to seven, two forty eight left to go in
the first quarters. Him down to Stuart, stowing away there
by Ray Ray at the left side, picked up by
Stuart and gets all the way to the bucket bank shot.
No good, rebound by Noah Houston, who checked in for

(22:30):
the Pioneers. Jerald cross Fort Stuart Stuart three from the corner.
No good, but he's gonna be foul. Looks like Joe
Ray hit him on the way down. That'll send Grady
Stewart to the line for three.

Speaker 5 (22:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (22:42):
Great action and their offensively as Gerald tried to drive
in the middle of lane, saw backside gritty, wide open
and you see Joe Ray go flying at him and
he gets a foul, gets a piece of him.

Speaker 2 (22:55):
Gonna be three shots here by Stuart first, one is
good for Stuart makes it ten to seven. Zane Trace leads.

Speaker 3 (23:16):
Second one no good for Stuart, and we'll see if
Zaane Trace continues their pressure here after a made bucket.

Speaker 2 (23:24):
Looks like we're going to see.

Speaker 3 (23:25):
Uh Judah Hanks getting ready to come in for the
Zane Trace pioneers.

Speaker 2 (23:30):
Looks like he's going to come in for Stuart the shooter.
Third one at the line for Stuart is good. Makes
it eleven to seven. Juda Hanks chicking in two twenty
nine left to go here in the first quarter, it's

(23:55):
the little three quarter court trap here by Zane Trace.
Ray with the ball gets a cross court walls, tip
out of bounds there and he'll stay here with the Mustangs. Yeah, Houston, he's.

Speaker 3 (24:11):
About six four and he's got long arms there and
he's the guy on top for him right now.

Speaker 2 (24:15):
He got a tip on that ball. Leane Trace back
in their man demand. Joe Ray up top, picked up
by Landon Robinson on the wing. That's rigsby Griggsby, gets
it to Williams. Williams back to Ray. Ray looking to drive,
gets in a lane euros step. He's gonna be fouled there,

(24:35):
called out on the floor. So we'll have a baseline
out of bounds for the Mustang.

Speaker 3 (24:41):
Yeah, I think he was definitely driving to a hole,
and I thought a little bit out of control. So
he got lucky there. The refere he calls a foul
instead of a travel.

Speaker 2 (24:50):
Fowls on Houston, that's his first team second picks and
Craig check back in for the Mustangs base line out
of bounds. Craig didn bounds, kicks it into Rigsby. Rigsby's
gonna try a three from the wing. That's good, good
looking shot there by Hayden Grigsby. Yeah, that's two threes
on the night for him, both of them really deep.

(25:13):
Robinson gets it to Hanks. Hanks cross court looking for Gerald,
tiped away there by, Hanks going the other way was
Noah Nate Wolf and he puts it in for two,
makes it twelve eleven. The Mustangs leads with a minute
thirty left to play in the first quarter. Yeah, we
westfall making offense off that transition down low. Mccaully kicks

(25:37):
it out to Hanks. Hanks from the corner. Three that
rattles in good bounced there from Peta Hanks and the
Pioneers reclaimed the lead. Fourteen twelve. That hit all sides
or all parts of that room before it went in.
Kicks across the timeline, getting trapped there, and he gets
it away, finds his way to Craig in the lane.

(25:58):
Offensive foul the job there, Gunner mccallis stepping in and
taking the charge. Yeah, right there.

Speaker 3 (26:07):
I thought Hicks was in trouble because he got trapped
right in the corner, right where the defense wants you
to be. He's able to get it out, and then
Craig just ends up putting that shoulder down and going
into the lane, gets a offensive.

Speaker 2 (26:20):
Call, landon Robinson across the timeline for the Pioneers minute
left to play in the first quarter, Saint Trace Lee's
fourteen twelve the way thereby Hicks of Mustangs, picks up top,
looking down low, find a man on the block that's Williams.
Williams shot no good, rebounds, finds this way to Rigsby.
Riggs me second chance shot no good, but he's gonna

(26:42):
be fouled. Send Hayden Grigsby to the line for two.

Speaker 3 (26:47):
Yeah, right now, Zane Trace a lot of uncharacteristic uh,
just throwing the ball away against this zone defense, and
that's almost I believe that's two straight possessions that they've
throwing the ball away.

Speaker 2 (27:02):
Foul was on Gunner mccallull. That's his first team's third.
Biggs be at the line for two first going is
no good substitution Jerrold and the Stewart check in for
the Pioneers looks like Ray and Hanley in for the Mustangs.

Speaker 3 (27:25):
I think Coach Cassidy said, you know what, I want
to get my two best ball handlers back out there
against the zone.

Speaker 2 (27:34):
Briggsby's second is good. One for two at the line
for him. Forty five seconds left to play, Saint Trace
leading fourteen thirteen. Jarrold across the timeline hands it to
Stewart on the wing. Stuart looking to drive, cut off
there by. Ray gets it to rip it, rip it
at the top of the key. Thirty left to play.

(27:55):
Rippeth hands it to Jerald, Jerrol over to Stewart. Let's
fall in the man now u Ston up top back
to Jarl on the wing. Gerald driving baseline, loses it,
stolen away there by Craig Craig up the left side,
pulls it out with ten left Ray top of the key,
deep three back iron rebounded by mccaulus stowing away there

(28:18):
by Ray Ray with three downloaded. Craig Craig puts it
in for two. As the buzzer sounds, the West Fall

fifteen to fourteen. You're listening to the earnstein Hundi sq

Second quarter action just about to get underway here at
Zane Trace High School, where the Mustangs lead the Pioneers
fifteen to fourteen. Go over to coach, look at some
stats from that first quarter. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (29:50):
For the first quarter, Zane Trace was five of ten, shooting,
two of seven from beyond the arc and one of
three from the free throw line.

Speaker 2 (29:56):
For Westfall, they were five of thir thirty.

Speaker 3 (29:59):
Eight percent, two of five from beyond the arc, and
one of two from the free throw line. Both teams
six turnovers there in our first quarter.

Speaker 2 (30:06):
Saint Trace ball to starts the second quarter Stewart from
the top of the key, Nail's a three Pioneers leads
seventeen to fifteen. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (30:13):
Set play called in the quarter. Time out there and
run perfectly by Zane Trace. Craig gets it to Hicks
at the top of the key, back to Craig. Craig's
picked up by Jerrel, has it poked away, be able
to crawl it, gets it down to Hanley. Handley's shot
from the block, no good rebound controlled by Stewart of
the Pioneers.

Speaker 2 (30:35):
Jerald the other way gets into the lane, dumps it
down to my collar. McCall out to Stuart. Stuart looking
to drive, kicks it out to Jerald Jerrold in the
corner for three. That's short rebound controlled by Westball. That's
Craig with the ball, gets it across the timeline, gets
it all the way down to the block. Euro step
in the lane. No good rebound tipped out of bounds
by Craig and it'll be Pioneer basketball. Yeah. I think

(30:57):
Westball loves to get the ball up and down the floor.
They like to keep that pace going.

Speaker 3 (31:02):
Think if you're Zane Trace, you need to try to
get maybe some more set plays if they continue to.

Speaker 2 (31:07):
Play and defense. Here Williams checks in for the Mustangs.
Robinson back in for the Pioneers. Pioneers lead seventeen fifteen,
seven minutes left to go in the second quarter. Jarrold
with the ball for the Pioneers, gets some McCall at
the top of the key over to rip it. Let'st
fall back in their zone defense Robinson on the wing.

(31:30):
Jarrod at the top of the key gets it back
to Robinson, rip it on the wing back to Jerrold.
Stewart rip it driving baseline gets it back top to
Jerald Jarrold driving in the lane. Scoop shot, no good,
rebound controlled by mccallaugh. Second chance shot, no good, but

(31:51):
he's going to be foul that good offensive rebound there
by McCullough. What maybe would I like to see her
as Zane Trace, Maybe go a three guard look.

Speaker 3 (31:59):
And get lind Robinson in that hi post. See if
they can't do It's a little bit of high low
action with Robinson and Gunna mccallough.

Speaker 2 (32:09):
Wekala at the line for two. First one's up, no
good substitutions for the Mustangs. Tikesby checks back in as
well as Jacob Hicks. Dude, they've only got four on
the court right now. Somebody came out they shouldn't have
and Brian Craig steps back up. Yeah, a little bit

(32:32):
too early to go with only four. A lot of
substitutions for the Mustangs.

Speaker 3 (32:37):
Yeah, they again, they'd like to get the ball up
and down the floor quickly, so uh, you've got to
be ready to throw guys in there.

Speaker 2 (32:44):
Second one is good for mccallough makes it eighteen fifteen
Pioneers lead three. Quarter court pressure for the Pioneers Ray
gets it up to Craig. Craig at the wing hands
it back to Ray. Ray picked up by Rippeth, back
to Craig coming off a hick screen picked up by
Stewart on the switch, gets it back to Ray. Ray

(33:07):
thought about a three, gets across fort to Williams rock
Williams hands it to Hicks. Ray deep three from the wing.
That's good. Yeah, he can shoot some deep ones there.

Speaker 3 (33:19):
You don't think he's gonna shoot it, and he's about
twenty four feet away and that ball goes flying.

Speaker 2 (33:25):
The league's leading score ties US at eight five forty
left to go in the second quarter. Rippeth Gerald back
to Ripith on the wing. He's gonna line up a three.
That's no good. Rebound was almost saved by mccala, but
they said he stepped on the line. So the out
of bounds less fall ball. Yeah, right there.

Speaker 3 (33:44):
We did see Robinson go into that high post area.
They got to play through that. If you're gonna run
something like that, you got to play through that high.

Speaker 2 (33:52):
Post and bound to Ray. Picked up full by Rippeth.
Ray gets it to the top of the key, spinning
into the lane. Float shot. That's good. Joe Ray, coach
Tyler Cassidy of Zane Trace once a time out. His
team trailing twenty to eighteen with five fourteen left to

(34:12):
go in the second quarter. We'll take a quick break.

Back here Zane Trace High School where the west Fall
Mustangs lead to Pioneers by a score of twenty to eighteen.
Out of the time out, It'll be Zane Trace basketball
and down to Jarrel gets it across a timeline. West
Fall back in their half Courtzona defense. Alloeen gets it
back to Jerrel up top to Rippeth rip it in

(35:51):
the corner to Robinson. Robinson's going to try three from
the corner. That's no good rebound. Start Stewart down low
to Robinson. That was stolen away there by Craig Westball
going the other way. Brian Craig hands it to Hicks.
Hicks thought about a three, looking to drive, gets it
down to the block, float shot. I believe it was
tipped there by Robinson. Rebound goes to Jerald. Jerald up

(36:13):
the right side, stops in the corner, kicks it out
through Robinson. Robinson downloaded Rippeth Rippets float shot. No good
rebound mccallough and puts it.

Speaker 3 (36:21):
In for twot A good job on the backside of mccallo,
just waiting there for that ball Pageingly to come to
him and take it back up strong and.

Speaker 2 (36:29):
We're tied once again. Twenty twenty here with four fourteen
left to go in the second quarter, Craig cross Court
to Rigsby. Rigsby's three was no good tip out of
bound off the Mustangs. It'll be Pioneered basketball. I think
the largest lead we had was Westwall was up five
nothing to start the game. Score update the Adina Lady

(36:54):
Warriors or the Amanda Clear kick aces thirty one to
nineteen after three quarters. Jane Trace basketball, we're all square
at twenty. Jarl with the ball gets across the Houston
inside of mccallough. Robinson loses it in the corner that
goes out of bounds. It'll be a turnover Pioneers.

Speaker 3 (37:16):
That is eight turnovers for Zane Trace, a team that
normally does not turn the ball over that much, just
a lot of times, just careless turnovers here tonight.

Speaker 2 (37:28):
Back in the three quarter court zone for the Pioneers.
Low with the ball for the Mustangs gets across the
timeline to Craig, sane trace falls back into a Manda Man.
Craig picked up by Jerrel. He's got to go and
there is a five second violation on Craig. Be another
turnover for the Mustangs. Seven on the night for the Mustangs.

(37:50):
And again that was one that just sort of happened. Uh,
not a lot of movement going on, and didn't really
know the referee was counting. Stuart Ball for the Pioneers,
gets it over to Houston, back to Stuart, dribbles to
the wing, gets it to Gerald, Jerald cross sport to Stewart,

(38:10):
picked up by Low. Stuart's gonna step into a three
and that's no good rebounded Craig of the Mustangs. Not
a lot of offense there for the Pioneers, just to
step in three and if Craig's gonna travel, that'll be
another turnover Mustangs and coach Tyler Cassidy is gonna want

(38:31):
another time out, so we'll step away the score twenty twenty.
Here at Zaye Threes High School, you're listening to the

Speaker 2 (39:24):
Fact, here at Zane Trace High School where we are school,
our score is tied twenty twenty between the Pioneers and
the Mustangs. Coach, it seems like it's really slowed down
from what we started uh this game with. And like
you were saying during the time out there, that Saint
Trace is having trouble with this defense.

Speaker 3 (39:42):
Yeah, props to west Fall for going into a zone
maybe something that they haven't showed before or something's ain't
Trace is not used to. But they are really struggling
trying to find the open areas in this zone. And
again Westfall really extending it too and not allowing a
lot of open.

Speaker 2 (40:00):
Areas out of the time mount It'll be Pioneer basketball
jerrel to Robinson in the corner to Houston down low.
Mccallaugh kicks it back out to Houston. Houston's gonna try
three from the corner. That's no good. Rebound. Stewart throws
it back in and controlled by Robinson. Float shot in
the lane, no good rebound. Mccallaugh fall away shot, no
good rebound. Stuart his oh, his shot, no good. They

(40:22):
can't buy a bucket right now. Houston signs up at
three from the top of the key and that one's good. Well,
you get that many shots out of it, you're gonna
get an opportunity. I believe that was six shots at
the bucket there. Noah Houston reclaims the lead for the
Pioneers twenty three to twenty. Low gets it across the

(40:42):
timeline to the Pioneers, throws it away, stolen by Houston.
Pioneers going the other way, Jerald Robinson, Robinson pump fakes,
gets in the lane. Float shot. That's good, Naylon Robinson.

Speaker 3 (40:56):
Really nice job there by Robinson with that pump fake
and getting it in the middle of the lane. Little
run here by Zane Trace. Their the largest lead to
the night. Five points five to twenty. Ray gets across
the timeline picked up by three defenders there and coach
Kyle Joseph gets a time out, a thirty second time out.

(41:17):
We'll stay right here.

Speaker 2 (41:20):
Like we talked about Pioneers having trouble with that half
court defense, this three quarter court pressure by the Pioneers
have been given Westfall trouble.

Speaker 3 (41:29):
Yeah, right there, they had two guys went right into
traps and you know, fortunately.

Speaker 2 (41:34):
They were able to still have the ball here. Coach
Joseph sort of bells them out calling the timeout. But
this is eerily similar to last Friday's game.

Speaker 3 (41:42):
It was twenty to twenty last Friday Zane Trace in
Payton Valley when Zane Trace went on their seventeen to
two run to sort of dart out into that game
and take control of it.

Speaker 2 (41:53):
Right now, they're on a five zero run here.

Speaker 3 (41:56):
And again it's all because of their defense and multiple
opportunit unities at the offensive end.

Speaker 2 (42:01):
Good offensive rebounds twenty five twenty. The Pioneers lead with
a minute fifty two left to go in the first half.
Out of the time out, it'll be west Fall basketball.
Looks like the Pioneers have dropping back into two three
zone here again one of the things they're doing defensively.

(42:21):
West Fall was able to get over what's still there
by mccallough. Mccaullaugh the other way, pluws it out to Houston.
Houston Robinson, Robinson pump fakes from three, gets in the lane,
kicks it out to Stuart Stuart Oda Jerald Jarrold lines
up at three from the lingue. That's no good. Rebound
was collided there, but throughout in the corner by Robinson,
Stuart down low McCalla wide open, gotaby fout sending.

Speaker 3 (42:45):
The line and a nice look there by Stille or
by Stuart, and again great ball movement by Zane Trace
getting it from one end of the court to the
other end. That's what you got to do against his
own defense. But right now west fall offense is really struggling.
Early on they were able to get.

Speaker 2 (43:03):
The ball a lot into the lane with their drives.
They're not able to do that right now. First one,
no good for mccallaugh. Substitution for the Mustangs. We're gonna
have Hicks and Craig checking back in twenty four left

(43:26):
to play five point lead for the Pioneers. McCall at
the line for his second shots up and that draws
back iron rebound. Houston of the Pioneers. Jerald Houston in
the corner lines up at three. That's no good, rebound
tipped and controlled by Stewart of the Pioneers. A lot
of second chance opportunities. Robinson lines up at three in

(43:50):
the corner. That's no good, long rebound controlled by Jerrold.
The opportunity for the Pioneers here. Houston tries another one
from the corner that's no good and almost controlled there
by Robinson, but it goes out of bounds. Right now,
west Fault is getting killed on the black. Yeah they are.

Speaker 3 (44:06):
And again they're long three point shots, so there's long
rebounds and Zaane Trace is basically just keeping Westfall underneath
the bucket.

Speaker 2 (44:14):
If you're Zane Trace. These threes are now following right now.
They're not shooting very well from three point lane. I
think they've only made four of them on the night,
but right now I have them like four from fifteen
from beyond the arc. They cannot settle for threes. They
got to try to drive and maybe get something else.
Ray and Handley checked back in for the Mustangs under

(44:34):
a minute left, the player Pioneers with the lead. Joe
Ray crossing the timeline was fouled there by Houston. His
second teams.

Speaker 3 (44:44):
First going back into his zone here for Zane Trace,
somebody's got oh, we gotta I was gonna say, Nolan's
taking the ball out.

Speaker 2 (44:59):
He's over there to his shoe. Endbound is Rigsby. His
pass is tipped by Stewart and then controlled there by
the Mustangs. That's Craig in the corner of the Hicks.
Higgs drive and gets to the block, floats shot off
the front eye or no good rebound controlled by Handley.
His shot balk by Houston. Rebound goes to Robinson. Robinson

(45:21):
up to Jerald Jerrold inside McCollough. Good ball movement for
two points from McCollough twenty seven to twenty. The Pioneers leave.
Craig gets it to Ray Ray at the top of
the key stolen away.

Speaker 7 (45:35):
No.

Speaker 2 (45:36):
Craig was found there by Robinson. That's his second sorry
team second, that's his first big possession here for the Mustangs.

Speaker 3 (45:51):
They need a buck they sure do, and again a
zone defense here by Zane Trace.

Speaker 2 (45:56):
Craig with Ray with the ball thirteen seconds left, He's
gonna try deep three from the top of the key.
That's no good rebound in Houston Robinson with eight. Jerald
cross the timeline with six, top of the key, pulling
up for three. That's good. Landon Jerrold. When the first
half on a ten over run by the Pioneers makes

able to create really nimble content, which I think in

Live back here at Zane Trace High School. Where the
halftime score is the Zane Trace Pioneers thirty in the
West Paul Mustang's twenty. We'll go over to coach and

(50:45):
we'll get some stats from the first half. Yeah, in
the first half of Zane Trace, overall shoots there were
eleven of thirty for thirty seven percent. Here's a big
thing for them.

Speaker 3 (50:56):
Shooting wise, there were only five of nineteen from bed
on the arc twenty six percent. So they were six
of eleven shooting inside the three point line. Very similar
to what we saw last Friday in the first half.
Second half, they came out and really went away from
that three point shot and was able to get a
lot more offense. Two of seven from the free throw

(51:19):
line was Zane Trace. They only had eight turnovers, only
turned the ball overs two times there in that second quarter,
a second quarter that they outscored West Fall sixteen to
five and ended on a ten to zero run. So
again a nice little run here to end to the
quarter there by Zane Trace Westfall. Overall shooting there were

(51:41):
seven of twenty two thirty two percent, three of eight
from beyond the arc and one of two from the
free throw line. They had ten turnovers there in that
first half. A lot of those turnovers, especially in the
second quarter, led to offensive or points for Zane Trace.

Speaker 2 (51:58):
They only again they.

Speaker 3 (52:00):
Have got a better job of making sure they get
quality offensive possessions. And again late in that quarter, I
think Zane Trace going to that zone sort of took
away one of their offensive things that are in.

Speaker 2 (52:12):
The first half, that's driving the ball and getting into
the lane. So we'll see what continues in the second half.
We'll see if west Fall stays in their zone defense.
We'll see if Zane Trace stays in their zone defense.
I know we don't have the number of second chance buckets,
but I would imagine that's the difference in this game
so far.

Speaker 3 (52:31):
Yeah, I mean Zane Trace has had multiple offensive possessions
where they had teachers. They had one where they had
six opportunities to score. So that is a big teller
in this game.

Speaker 2 (52:43):
And again it's if you're playing zone defensive rebound is
one of the things you worry about as a coaching
right now, That's what West Pal is not doing a
real good job of. So again, very.

Speaker 3 (52:57):
The first four minutes of this quarter, much like last Friday,
are going to tell a lot about this game. If
Zane Trace continues to do what they're doing, they could
extend this lead and that'll be tough for Westball to
come back.

Speaker 2 (53:12):
Do we see Zane Trace sticking? Sorry, do we see
West Fall sticking with this half court zone defense that's
really given them they advantage early to just haven't capitalized
getting offensive rebounds and turning that into points.

Speaker 3 (53:25):
Yeah, and again it'll be one of those things I
think they can. They can match up against Zane Trays
and maybe go man. But again, you're gonna try to
do something to get Zane Trace all balance, and we
saw that early in the first half. Look at some
individuals scoring here for the first half leading scorer for
the game tonight so far as Land and Gerald he

(53:47):
hit big three. At the end of the quarter he
has eight points, Grady Stored and Gunner McCullough both with
seven and for Westfall, their leading score is Joe Ray.

Speaker 2 (53:59):
He has seven. Also, Hayden Rigsby has seven. Hayden Rigsby
had all of his seven points.

Speaker 3 (54:04):
There in the first quarter. So again it'll be interested
to see what we see here in the first couple
minutes here of this quarter, Joe Ray, the leading scorer
in the league, averages nineteen.

Speaker 2 (54:17):
A little off track. Imagine he's gonna get going, try
to get going in the second half. Yeah, and I'm
sure they're going to try to get you know, Brian Craig.
Brian Craig only four points there, not a lot of
touches on the offensive end, so we'll see what they
can do to maybe get him more involved. Two minutes

Speaker 2 (56:55):
The third quarter action just about to get underway here
at Zane Trace High School. Coach quick thoughts before this
quarter gets started. Big possession here by west Fall. They're
going to start here to third quarter with the ball
west Fall.

Speaker 3 (57:13):
Gotta get something going here Offensively, it looks like Zane
Trace is going to show like they're going to come
out here in that two three zone and keep away,
taking away the driving gaps.

Speaker 2 (57:24):
It is west Fall ball to start the second half.
That is Rigsby up top gets it inside the Craig.
Craig at the top of the key back to Rigsby
kicks driving boat shop, no good rebound. Houston Robinson the
other way becaus it across the timeline. Is it all
the way down to the block, kicks it out to Houston.

(57:46):
Stewart on the wing up top to Jerrol fast fall
back in their zone defense jarro up top, coach Cassidy
calling up the offense. Jerald gets it to McCalla on
the wing, has its tipped in stolen away there by Williams.

(58:06):
Williams the other way Cloat shot at the lane. No
good rebound to mccallough. Robinson with the ball picked up
by Williams, gets across sports at Houston.

Speaker 3 (58:18):
Two offensive possibilities in here from west Fall and did
not get him to fall.

Speaker 2 (58:22):
Jerrold driving dump down to mccallough. That's no good rebounds
to Williams. Good look there by mccallough.

Speaker 3 (58:30):
Yeah, he worried too much about the defense, moved the
ball around too much instead of just taking it straight.

Speaker 2 (58:35):
Up inside to Craig, kicks it back out to Rigsby.
Craig factor Ray Ray deep three from the wing. That's good.
Seems like when Ray knocks down those threes, he's well
off the three point line.

Speaker 3 (58:51):
Yeah, he is not afraid to shoot it anywhere here
in the court. And Zane Trace has got to recognize
where he is. Cross Cork Stewart's three point two. MP's
blocked there by Craig. They'll stay here with the Pioneers.

Speaker 2 (59:05):
Thirty to twenty three, six twenty three left to go
in the third quarter, Houston inn bound. Yeah, that should
have been a shot. Fake drive to the bucket right there.
Robinson up top, lest fall back in their own defense,
Cheryl Cross to Stewart in the corner Houston. Houston lines
up at three. That's no good. Robinson wide open for
the rebound and puts it in for two. Well, we

(59:28):
talked about their second chance opportunities. Thirty two to twenty
three Pioneers League, Grigsby to Craig, over to Hicks, Grigsby
back to Ray. Grigsby deep three from the top of
the key that draws back iron long rebound tipped and
picked up there by Robinson quickly up to Stuart Stewart

(59:51):
down the block, float shot, no good, but he's going
to be fouled. Brady Stewart going to the line. Yeah.

Speaker 7 (01:00:00):
I like that.

Speaker 2 (01:00:01):
They're going strong, giving, going strong.

Speaker 3 (01:00:04):
With a purpose to the bucket. Thereby Stuart gets changed.
Two more points here for Zane trace.

Speaker 2 (01:00:12):
Thirty two to twenty three, five forty four left to
go in a third quarter. Stuart's first one is up
and good. Stuart the leading league leader in three pointers made.
I don't know that he's made one tonight. Has he
has not made one tonight? No, I'm sorry he didn't
make one. Sorry didn't make one. Seems like he's gotten
to the line though, even though those shots aren't falling.
Still finding his game. He is four or five from

(01:00:34):
the free throw line tonight, two for two that time
makes a thirty four to twenty three Rigsby up top,
gets it to Craig, back to Rigsby Pioneers in a
two to three half fort zone inside to Craig. Craig
driving float shot rattles no good, but he'll go to
the line for two.

Speaker 3 (01:00:53):
Yeah, that's a thing I talked about there at halftime,
trying to get Craig involved in the offense. That's one
way to do it. Get him the ball in the
high post against his own let him attack it. Foul
was on Houston. That's his third team's first of the quarter.

Speaker 2 (01:01:14):
First one's good for Rigsby, Sorry Craig, and Rippeth checks
back in for the Pioneers. Ten point games, five twenty
four left to go in the third quarter. Craig two
for two at the line makes it thirty four twenty five.

(01:01:39):
Robinson across the timeline for the Pioneers gets it over
to Jerrold West Paul falling back in their zone defense Robinson,
Jarl Rippeth driving baseline float shop blocked there by Ray.
Ray going the other ways to the top of the
key to Craig. Rigsby drive gets it back to Craig,

(01:02:01):
picked up by Stewart, same tracing the man. The man.
Craig driving down to the block, kicks it out to Williams,
who tries a fifteen footer and that's good Brock Williams.

Speaker 3 (01:02:11):
I don't know if that's who he was trying to
go to, but Williams right in the middle of lane, said,
I got the ball, why not shoot it?

Speaker 2 (01:02:18):
Seven point game. Pioneers lead four forty left to go,
cross courts and Gerald inside the mccallaugh mccallus squares dumping it.
Rippeth has it blocked out of bounds there by Craig.

Speaker 3 (01:02:32):
Yeah, Rippeth, that's found himself open underneath a lot, but
they come at him hard once he catches it, and
he's had the last two.

Speaker 2 (01:02:40):
Blocked baseline out of bounds for the Pioneers. Gerald in
bound and the Stewart in the corner. Stuart driving float
shot in the lane, that's short, rebound tip and controlled
thereby Stuart Robinson wide open top of the key, tries
a three, that's no good, rebound goes out of bounds.

(01:03:00):
That'll be Mustang basketball.

Speaker 3 (01:03:02):
Yeah, another second chance opportunity they did not capitalize on though,
and bound de Ray saying trace gone with their three
quarter court zone.

Speaker 2 (01:03:13):
Cross court path tipped and that goes out of bounds
off the Mustangs. That'll be a turnover.

Speaker 3 (01:03:20):
Yeah, just lazy passing there. You gotta make sure all
your passes are strong, especially against a quick team that
gets their hand on a lot of basketball.

Speaker 2 (01:03:30):
And bound quickly into the corner to Stuart Jerrold top
the key float shot from fifteen that's no good rebound
tipped and controlled thereby Jerrel in the corner Robinson to
rip it, rip its pump fakes, gets it down to
the block, that floats shot up, no good Dn mccallaugh
down low Rippeth rip it that time had his shot block,
but he's gonna go to the line. Rippeth not scared

(01:03:53):
to go down low even though he had two shots blocked.
And that time he finds himself at the line.

Speaker 3 (01:04:00):
Would think you had start to get gunshy once you
go in there after so many blocks.

Speaker 2 (01:04:04):
But uh, he's still taking it in there strong as
we're Rippeth at the line for two, this team holding
a seven point lead with three fifty six left to
go in the third quarter. First one's up and good
substitutions for the Mustangs. Number zero Ethan Rose and number
three and Nate Wolf check in for the Mustangs. Second

(01:04:29):
one at the line for Rippeth. That's up and no
good rebound goes to Wolf Ray up court to Williams.
Williams lay up good lazy defense there from the Pioneers.
Quick bucket for the Mustangs. Yeah, way to run the
four by Williams Aaron good look by Ray six point

(01:04:49):
lead for the Mustangs, down low, stolen away there by
Craig Craig trapped in the back court. Loose ball and
Robinson's the first one on the floor and cast you
get the time out, well, it will be a thirty
second time out for the Pioneer. We'll take you what
break you're listening to her sign Hondai SPC Game of

Back here Zane Trees High School where the score is
thirty five twenty nine. The Pioneers lead with three thirty
left to go in the third quarter, so far a
good start from the Westwall Mustangs cut into this league.

Speaker 3 (01:06:04):
Yeah, nine to five here this quarter so far, but
Zane Trace cold shooting coming out here one of eight
shooting so far.

Speaker 2 (01:06:11):
Rippeth to jarld Jarrel looking to drive baseline, picks it up,
kicks out the rip it from the top of the
key for three. That rattles in. Grippeth saw a lot
of openings outside. He's not inside anymore. He took it
outside and makes it three, makes it a nine point
lead to the Pioneers. Ray with the ball for the Mustangs,
gets it into the lane. Float shot that's no good,

(01:06:34):
gets his own rebound, puts it back up no good
rebound tip and gets hold thereby Stewart of the Pioneers.
He has it stolen away by Ray Ray. Another float
shot in the lane. Nice smooth by Ray to put
that one in get nice steal. Ray just sort of
hung around and gets his hand on it and is
able to score. Stewart travels at the top of the key.

(01:06:57):
That'll be another turnover. Pioneers thirty eight to thirty one.
The Pioneers lead with two forty seven left to go
here in the third. Yeah, this quarter so far, goes
to west Fall.

Speaker 3 (01:07:10):
So far, they like the way this momentum is going.
They like the pace of the game. It's more like
an up and down playground type style. That's Wolf in
the corner to Rose. Rose goes baseline, kicks it back
out to Wolf cross court Craig. Craig driving baseline cut
off there by mccallough and he shuffled his feet. No,

(01:07:31):
he's going to be fouled there. And that's what I
thought too.

Speaker 2 (01:07:33):
I thought there was a shuffle of the feet down there,
but I did not see that foul. Foul is on
number five Rippets that's his second team's second of the
quarter and bound to Williams. The ball growled there by
Ray and he's going to set up the Mustang offense.

(01:07:55):
Gets a cross court to Williams, hands at the Wolf,
back to Williams driving Bay and then another foul on
the drive, that time by Robinson. They baseline out of
bounds for the Mustang's number four Hayden. Rigsby checks back
in Robinson's second team's third great in bound gets it

(01:08:22):
into Rigsby. Grigsby hands it back to Ray. Ray picked
up by Robinson all alone at the top of the
key calls first screen, rejects it, gets it into the
lane down low. Nope, sorry, up top to Rose. Rose
driving and that's going to be an offensive foul. Runner.
Mccaullaugh steps in and takes another charge.

Speaker 3 (01:08:44):
Yeah, that was an easy one there for the referee
to call. When you dropped your shoulder that much and
have that much contact, you're going to get that call.
That foul is on Ethan Rose, his first team's third.
Under two minutes left to play in the third quarter. Robinson,
with the ball in the lane, kicks it out to
Jerald Jerrold looking to drive. Now he kicks out the

(01:09:05):
Robinson Robinson thought about it three He backs it out
and gets it to Jerrold back in his own defense
for the Mustangs, and on the cross court past it
looked like McCalla was setting the pin down screen and
he's going to get cauled for an illegal screen and
it'll be a turnover back to the Mustangs. Saw a
lot of offensive so far here tonight, something we don't

(01:09:27):
normally see.

Speaker 2 (01:09:28):
But again, this game is going the way of Westfall
right now. They light the way this is playing out.
Second foul on mccallaugh, team's fourth. Craig with the ball
for the Mustangs, sticks it the wolf. I'm sorry Rose,
Rose is gonna try it white up and three. That's
no good rebound to Stewart under ninety seconds for playing

(01:09:51):
the third. Jerald with the ball for the Pioneers. The
top of the key download mccallaugh at the block, power
move gets it over to Robinson. Robinson try the fourteen
footer and Nat rattles in. Yeah, Robinson gets a shot
really high and it's hits the rim really soft when
it does that. Back to a nine point lead for
the Mustangs. Sorry for the Pioneers. Mustangs with the ball,

(01:10:14):
Ray getting it up to Rose high pass there. You know,
it looks like it's gonna be a foul on McCall Yes,
that's gonna be his third team's fifth. So Ethan Rose
will go to the line shooting two shots bonus here
in the third quarter.

Speaker 3 (01:10:33):
So minute one to go there, and looks like he's
gonna leave McCullough in the game with those three fouls.

Speaker 2 (01:10:39):
But two shots here for Rose. First one's good for Rose,
makescept forty to thirty two, the Pioneers lead with a
minute left to go in the third two for two
at the line is Ethan Rose. It's like a three

(01:11:03):
quarter pressure for the Mustangs and they're gonna fall back
into their zone defense. As a Rippeth with the ball
crossport to Jerald Jarrold inside Macalla on the block, picks
it up and gets it to Jerald. Jerrold floats out
in the lane, walk there by Craig and quickly the
other way the Mustangs Ray. He hasn't blocked from behind
by Rippeth, but controlled there by the Mustangs. Wolf in

(01:11:26):
the corner, wide open ray for three, no good rebound
tips on the floor is Wolf and he throws it
out and coach Kyle Joseph gets a timeout with twenty
eight seconds left.

Speaker 3 (01:11:43):
Oh, he's got a left, so it's gonna be a
full time out here for West falls full time out,
twenty eight seconds left. It's a good time out there
for coach Joseph. Well not when you saw your cat
come out with the ball. But again, maybe he wants
to make sure they get the last shot of the
quarter here. Being down seven, they've cut into the ten

(01:12:03):
point halftime lead. But again this pace and the stile
play is or that's happening right now.

Speaker 2 (01:12:11):
Is definitely favoring Westfall.

Speaker 3 (01:12:12):
They want to get it in the helter skelter type
game and up and down and more of a playground
type atmosphere.

Speaker 2 (01:12:19):
And this has really benefited them.

Speaker 3 (01:12:21):
It's taken Zane Trace out of their offense and Zane
Trace not shooting the ball well. Here this quarter, seven
point lead for the Pioneers Westball with the ball twenty
eight seconds left to go in the third quarter, out
of the time out, it'll be Mustang basketball. Yeah, I

(01:12:43):
think you're going to see something here with Joe Ray
having the ball at the top of the key looking
to drive. We'll see Zane Trace sits back in their
zone or comes out Maye in the last twenty eight seconds.

Speaker 2 (01:12:57):
Final score of the Adina Amanda game. That is a
girls game, Adina one thirty five thirty seven. Lit'll comeback
there for the Aces, so it'll be Wes Baull ball
out of the time out, twenty eight seconds left. Joe
Ray with the basketball picked up there by Rip. It

(01:13:17):
looks like Wes baul is going to hold the ball
for the last shot here gets it over to Craig
with eighteen. Craig gets the Wolf back to Ray thirteen
grigsby top of the key back door for Craig, broken
up there by mccallough, but Craig turns around his shot
no good. Rebound by Stuart Robinson one second left tries

(01:13:39):
it from half fourt and that's no good. At the
end of the three quarters it is ain't trace forty
wes Ball thirty three. You're listening to the Herdstein Hyundai

Speaker 11 (01:13:54):

Speaker 2 (01:15:03):
Fourth quarter action just about to get underway here at
Zane Trace High School. We'll quickly go over to coach.
Look at some stats from that third quarter.

Speaker 3 (01:15:10):
Yeah, shooting was Zane Trace three of eleven shooting. West
Fall was four of twelve, Zane Trace one of three.
From beyond New York west Fall one of four.

Speaker 2 (01:15:19):
Zane Trace turned it over five times that quarter, so
west Fall was able to do what they wanted to
accomplish there. Let's see what happens here is the fourth
quarter starts, It'll be Pioneer basketball to start the fourth quarter.
That is land In Jerald with the ball. West Fall
continues their half court zone defense. Rip it at the
top of the key, over to Jerald, back to rippeths

(01:15:42):
Let's Robinson on the wing, back to Rippeth Stewart right now,
just a lot of perimeter passing for the Pioneers. There's
Jerald driving gets it down to mccallaugh who only had
one shot, one hand free to get that shot off
as he was fouled there and send him to the

(01:16:02):
line for two. Yeah, that was a good job of
attacking it by Jamee Trees. They were taking their time there,
getting the ball moved around and eventually got it inside
to McCullough for a nice opportunity. He's going to get
two shots at it though, so we'll have McCalla at
the line. Officials having a descar. I think they weren't

(01:16:26):
sure exactly who that foul was on. It was definitely
on Williams, so I believe they got that straightened out.
That's Rock Williams. Second team's first up the quarter, mccalla's
first one up and good makes it forty one thirty
three Pioneer League. Noah Houston checking back in for Ezra Rippeth.

(01:16:50):
Houston didn't play much in that third quarter, picked up
his third foul pretty early in that quarter. Yeah, he did.

Speaker 3 (01:16:56):
And again his size in his length is going to
help them here, especially on the defensive vent.

Speaker 2 (01:17:02):
Second one no good for mccallough rebound to west Fall,
Joe Ray's driving baseline, his reverse layup, no good rebound
tipped out of bounds off the Pioneers.

Speaker 3 (01:17:13):
It'll stay west Fall basketball underneath. Yeah, if you're Zain Trace,
you want to get this tempo under the tempo you want.
If you're west Fall, you just want to keep causing
havoc and bound pass.

Speaker 2 (01:17:26):
Stip Dan stowing away there by Stewart quickly up to Houston.
Houston in the lane, that rattles out. No good rebound
goes the Hicks of the Mustangs. Joe Ray across the timeline,
picked up by Robinson, Ray backs it out, gets a

(01:17:46):
cross court to Rigsby. Rigsby dribbles to the top of
the key and hands it to Craig. Craig looking to drive.
Stopped there by. Stuart Spinning gets in the lane down
to the block. That's good.

Speaker 3 (01:17:58):
Good move there by Brian Craig. Yeah, if your Westfall,
that's what you want to see happen. Get him more
involved in the offense. Quickly the other way of the Pioneers.

Speaker 2 (01:18:07):
Robinson gets it all the way to the block, gets
it out to Jerrold Jerald driving fifteen footer RIM's out,
no good. McCalla with rebound gets it back to jerrold
up top. Robinson thought about a three pump fake down
though Houston and he has his shot blocked there by
Craig rebound controlled by Stewart tis a three from the Marine,
no good rebound to Rigsby. Must things the other way. Rigsby,

(01:18:33):
you're in lane, float shot, no good rebound on the
ground and we're going to have a jump ball. Wow.

Speaker 3 (01:18:41):
This game is a lot of stuff you don't see
normally on a high school court. See a lot on
the playground, but this game definitely right now plays in
the hands of Westfall.

Speaker 2 (01:18:53):
They like to see this stuff happen. Looks like this
type of style they like to play for five Pioneers.
Six minutes left to go in the fourth quarter, and
we're gonna have an offensive foul underneath away from the ball.
That's on Rock Williams. That's his third team, second of

(01:19:13):
the quarter substitution for the Pioneers. Rippeth checking back in
for Houston. Right at six minutes left to play in
the fourth quarter. We Pioneer Basketball holding this six point lead.
Jerrol at the top of the key coming off on
mcullar screen gets it the Robinson back to Jerrold. Jerrold

(01:19:35):
dribbling attacked by two defenders, gets it over to Rippeth.
Rip is three from the wing. That's no good. Jerald
flying in for the rebound, finds it Rippeth underneath and
his shot no good. Rebound by Ray and we're gonna
have a foul underneath on Ript.

Speaker 3 (01:19:51):
Yeah, this game zain't trace right now. Not shooting the
ball well at all. They're shooting around thirty percent and
this is not a team that normally shoots like that.
There's a lot of open shots that they should be
making that they are not right now, and they've got
to get this under control offensively. Westfall continuing just to
cause Having get the ball quickly down the.

Speaker 2 (01:20:13):
Floor, Crag downloaded Williams. His pass is kicked out of
bounds there by the Pioneers. It'll stay underneath with the Mustangs.
That was Rip as third foul. He's picked up teams
first at the quarter and bound the Hicks hands it
to Ray at the top of the key. Ray, looking
to drive on Robinson cut off there, backing him down

(01:20:34):
in the paint, tries a fallaway shot that's no good.
Rebound controlled there by mccallough.

Speaker 3 (01:20:43):
If Zaint Trace doesn't slow things down here a little
bit and see if they can't get a nice shot.

Speaker 2 (01:20:49):
Rip it on the wing. He's gonna line up a
three that's good. Hasn't rip it?

Speaker 13 (01:20:54):
Well?

Speaker 3 (01:20:54):
They got the good shot again by caught going inside out,
but again they did not take their time.

Speaker 2 (01:21:03):
Ate at forty four thirty five and we're gonna have
a foul on Jerald. There another foul in the back
court by Zane Trace. I don't know if you like that,
if you're coach Cassidy, no.

Speaker 3 (01:21:16):
I don't think you need to be pressuring. But they're
gonna go back to man to man here instead of
that zone. Forty four to thirty five. Joe Ray with
the ball for the Mustangs, four forty five left to
go in the fourth quarter. Hicks up top, guarded by mccaulliffe,
hands it back to Ray. Ray's gonna line up a
three pointer from the wing. That's no good rebound.

Speaker 2 (01:21:36):
Jerald and Jerrold across the timeline to Robinson Robinson in
the quarter to Rippeth back of Robinson. Looks like West
Falls sitting with their half court zone here. Jerrold off
top the Rippif back to Jerald, Zane trays content with

(01:21:57):
running some clock here with a nine point lead inside,
mccallar mcaulla thought about a fifteen footer, gets it out
to Stewart. Stewart's gonna drive wide open Jarrow in the
corner for three. That's good landed. Yeah, that's eleven on
the night for Gerald. That's three threes here tonight, driving

(01:22:19):
offensive fowl there on Brian Craig.

Speaker 3 (01:22:21):
Oh, they called a block or one guy has a block,
one guy might have an offensive call everything.

Speaker 2 (01:22:27):
Discuss it here, both fans wanting to call for their team,
and then let's see what they go with here. It
looks like they're gonna call it a block. Yep, Yes,
they're gonna call it block there on Rippeth. That's gonna
be his quarter, sending Craig to the line. First one,

(01:22:54):
no good for Craig. Three fifty four left to go
in the fourth quarter or nine point for the Pioneers.
One more at the line for Brian Craig, and that
one's no good. Rebound put up by Ray second chance
shot no good as well, but he's gonna be bounds in.

(01:23:15):
Brian Craig to the line. That one's on Robinson. That's amazing.

Speaker 3 (01:23:21):
Joe Ray not the tallest guy out there, but he
somehow is able to come up with the basketball more
times than not. He's gonna go to the free throw
line here with two shots. Joe Ray is seventy eight
prethrow shooter, knocks the first one in.

Speaker 2 (01:23:41):
His thirteenth points. Here tonight forty seven thirty six Pioneers leads.
Houston checks back in for Rippeth. Second one good makes
it a ten point game seven. A couple of substitutions

(01:24:02):
for the Pioneers. Looks like Rose and Wolf check back
in in bound to Gerald. He gets trapped there and
we're gonna have a time now. Looks like coach Cassie
got a time out in how it will be a
thirty second time out. We'll take a quick quick break.

Speaker 2 (01:25:04):
Back here at Zane Trees High School, where the Pioneers
hold a ten point lead over the west Fall Mustangs
with three forty eight left to go in the fourth quarter.
Good coach, good time out there by Tyler Cassy. You
get his player out of trouble.

Speaker 3 (01:25:15):
Yeah, and here we see extended pressure by west Fall
put in on a full court trapping defense.

Speaker 2 (01:25:22):
Here, Zane Trace gotta take care of the ball. Jerald
gets it across the timeline and he's going to be fouled.
Bow was on number one. Joe Ray. That's his third
team's third not quite yet for the Pioneers. It'll be
a sideline out of bounds with three forty left to go.

Speaker 3 (01:25:43):
Yeah, up ten Here, Zane Trace is going to want
to make sure or try to get some quality offensive possessions,
not in a hurry, and again west Fall the defensively
is going to use that controlled chaos to try to
make some things happen.

Speaker 2 (01:26:00):
In Bound to Jarrold in the back court, gets it
across the timeline three thirty Stewart on the wing, picked
up by Ray. He's going to be fouled there, a
great poked away. That'll be a team fourth foul. That'll
be the fourth foul on Gray. Yeah, you're Ray, that's

(01:26:22):
four on him. You gotta be very careful here the
rest of the way that he doesn't get his fifth
be a sideline out of bounds. Robinson the in bound
gets it into Rippeth, rip it back to Robinson down low,
wide open mccallough for two. Yeah, good one to find

(01:26:44):
there by Land and Robinson. West Fall was looking to
send two at the mall handle and left mccaulla wide open.
Ray down low to Williams. Back to Ray in the corner,
dribbles to the top of the key over to Craig.
Craig driving in the lane, float shot blocked there by Robinson.
Robinson controls it and he's going to be found in

(01:27:06):
the backcourt by Williams. Now, that'll be the team's fifth.
Elson landon Robinson to the line.

Speaker 3 (01:27:14):
Ye, here, you got three minutes to go in the game,
and now you've got both teams in the double bonus.
Three minutes left to play. Pioneers with a twelve point lead,
forty nine thirty seven right and Robinson at the line.

(01:27:38):
First one good for Robinson, eighty five on the year
from the free from the free throw line is Robinson.
That's tied for second in the league. Substitutions for the
Mustang Wolf Chicks back in second one, no good for Robinson.

Speaker 2 (01:27:58):
Thereby Ray Ray quickly across the timeline, picked up by
two Pioneers in the corner, and that's gonna go out
of mounds. I believe they're gonna say Robinson tipped it
out of mounds. It'll stay sideline, out of bounds for
the Pioneers. Thirteen point lead here Brazil and Trace just
under three minutes to go. Ray Crossport to Williams. Sorry,

(01:28:21):
that was Rigsby picks to Ray Ray looking to drive
baseline picked up there by Rippeth kicks it out to
Wolf Wolf lines up at three from the top of key.
That's no good rebound download of Craig. Craig in the lane,
picks up his dribble, gets it back to Wolf. Wolf's
gonna drive. Float shot is no good, but he's gonna
be found there by mccallough. So we'll see Ethan Wolf

(01:28:43):
at the line for two with two point twenty nine
left to go into fourth quarter, saying Trace leading fifty
to thirty seven. That's gonna be Ethan Rose at the line.
I'm sorry, Ethan Rose. Both teams with five fouls here
in the fourth quarter, so we'll see free throws for
the final two and a half minutes. Rose first one good,

(01:29:05):
they except thirty eight fifty here's lead. That was a
fourth foul on Marcalaugh. I have a lane violation on
the Mustangs there, so no second free throw for a Wolf,

(01:29:25):
and it'll be pioneer basketball.

Speaker 13 (01:29:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:29:28):
Joe Ray tried to get a quick tried to go
to the bucket quick air, tried to beat the defender
and he went.

Speaker 2 (01:29:37):
In the lane too early. Full court man a man
pressure here by the Mustangs. Ain't face looking to go
for the full four pass and that was picked off
there by Hicks. Craig looking to drive, and he's going
to be fouled and he's gonna be fouled by Robinson.

Speaker 3 (01:29:56):
Not a good choice there by Robinson and go deep
on that one. They had a guy back there was floated.

Speaker 2 (01:30:01):
So the turnover now leads to two free throws by
Westfall with the clock stop here at two twenty three,
and that is the fourth foul on Robinson. So Robinson,
McCollough and Rippeth all with four fouls for the Pioneers.
And again this is not what you want to see
if you're Zane Trace, clock stopped. Definitely what you want

(01:30:23):
to see if you're west Fall. First one's good for
Brian Craig. It's a thirty nine fifty Pioneers lead to
twenty three left to go two for two at the line.
For Brian, it gives him ten points on the night,
ten point lead for the Pioneers. Full court pressure, broken
air by Jerald, gets across the timeline, has a two
on one, gets a downloaded Stuart, good defense by Hicks

(01:30:46):
and the Pioneers pull it out. Jerald in the lane,
download wide open mccallough for two. Nice job and lend
and Jerald to find his big man.

Speaker 3 (01:30:56):
That is twelve points on the knife for McCullough and
a twelve point lead for the Pioneer. Joe Ray pulls
up from three and knocks it down. Good looking shot
by Joe Ray makes it a nine point lead and
down to Jarrold Jerald. Wow, he's gonna be found with
three Mustangs on him, and so we'll go walk the
link to the floor and put Lane and Gerald at

(01:31:16):
the line for two.

Speaker 2 (01:31:17):
I thought he got fouled early there, and that one
they definitely had to call. He got hit in the face.
That foul is on Nate Woolf. That's his first team
is over the bonus. So Jerald, now he's got eleven
on the night. See if he can add to that

(01:31:39):
first one. He is no good for Jerald. A minute
fifty one left to play, the nine point lead for
the Pioneers, a couple of substitutions for the Mustangs, Rose
and Rigsby checked back in. Yeah, definitely an off shooting
night for Zane Trace, both from the floor and free

(01:32:00):
throw line. A team that shoots really good from the
free throw line normally second one up and good for
Gerald makes a ten point game. A minute fifty left
to play. Joe Ray getting down into the lane pump
fake shot up and good and the foul Joe Ray
and if that's Riffifth, that's his fifth guy at the

(01:32:21):
very top. He made that call and that is going
to be on Riffith, So that's his fifth Houston checking
into the game for the Pioneers. Griffeth's getting the well
deserved ovation from the Pioneer faithful Joe Ray converse. The

(01:32:44):
three point we play at the line makes it forty
six fifty three Pioneers leading with a minute forty three
left to play. That is twenty points on the night
for Joe Ray. Robinson to end bound, gets it into Gerald.
Trapped there by the Mustangs, bad spot for Gerald, has
to throw it and gets it to Stewart. Stewart dribbles
it backwards and gets it to Robinson's got to get

(01:33:05):
it across the timeline than they do land in Jerald.
A minute thirty left to play. Jerald at the top
of the key gets it to mccallar. McCall in the
corner back up top of Robinson. Stewart, Robinson looking to drive,
gets it into the lane and backs it out. Doesn't
look like the Pioneers are looking to score here. A
minute fifteen. Jerald's getting fouled in the corner. Then he'll

(01:33:30):
go to the line to shoot. Two fowl was on
Craig his second, the team in the bonus a couple
of substitutions after the first free throw, Rose and Rigsbill
check back in first one, no good for Jerald. Saint

(01:33:56):
Trey's shooting under fifty percent from the free throw line. Tonight,
a minute thirteen left to play, fifty three forty six
the Pioneer's lead. Second one at the line for Jerald
is up and good pick stand bound gets it into ray.

(01:34:16):
Pioneers picking up with their three quarter court pressures, picks
up his dribble and gets it across the timeline too Craig.
Craig down low scoop shot and nice looking finished there
by Craig. If Paula didn't want to pick up his
fifth foul, so easy bucket there for. Craig makes a
fifty four forty eight Pioneers lead with exactly a minute

(01:34:39):
left to play. Around a full time out, we'll take

Back here at Ain't Trace High School, where we have
exactly a minute left to play in the fourth quarters.
Ain't Trace leading the Mustangs fifty four forty eight.

Speaker 3 (01:35:39):
Yeah, both teams one time out left here with one
minute to go. Again, the crowd, we had a pretty
obvious travel there by Westfall that wasn't called, and obviously
all of these Ain't Trace fans pointed it out. But
again we're gonna.

Speaker 2 (01:35:58):
See full court pre sure here by west Fall we'll
see how then Trace handles it. Robinson to inbounds gets
it into the corner to Gerald. Jerald takes two defenders
stolen away by Ray Ray lay up, no good rebound
goes to Robinson and he's getting tied up and we're
gonna have a jump ball because Essen Arrow stays with
the Pioneers. Ray had a good look at a bucket

(01:36:21):
there and he's upset with himself. Yeah, gotta make those
when you have those opportunities. Down six mains a six
point lead inbound to mccalluugh with fifty stolen away there
by Craig. Craig download to Ray Ray spinning has it
stolen away there by Houston, and Houston stepped out of bounds,
so it'll be a turnover. Give it to the Mustangs underneath. Yet,

(01:36:45):
if you're Westfall, that's what you want to do.

Speaker 3 (01:36:47):
Create chaos, and that's what's happened here in the last
fifteen seconds, a lot of chaos rose.

Speaker 2 (01:36:53):
And Rigby check back in Ray to inbounds. Forty five
seconds left to play, en bounce Rose up top gets
it to Ray Ray driving float shot blocked there by Robinson.
Thirty eight seconds left to play. Jerald up to Stuart
Stewart in the corner to Robinson, Robinson's going to be
found there with thirty one point four left to play

(01:37:15):
and a six point lead for the Pioneers. A couple
of good looks there for the Mustangs, but unable to
come away with points.

Speaker 3 (01:37:21):
Yeah, they had their opportunities down six, and they had
two misses there where they could have.

Speaker 2 (01:37:26):
Cut it to four. Land and Jerald No sorry, landon
Robinson at the line. First one rattles in. That makes
it fifty five forty eight with thirty one point four
left to play. Second one by Robinson and that goes

(01:37:53):
in fifty six forty eight thirty seconds. Craig with the
ball on the wing looking to drive, picks it out.
Wolf's gonna line up at three. Sorry Rose, no good
rebown goes to the Pioneers, and Jerald is going to
be fouled with eighteen seconds left.

Speaker 3 (01:38:14):
Well, if you're zaying Trace, you're not going to be
real happy about some of the stuff that happened here
tonight as far as shooting and taking care of the
bat I have now with seventeen turnovers on the night,
not something they're going to be real excited about. But
right now they're going to come away with a win
here and that's going to line up a game this

(01:38:36):
Friday with a lot of meaning to it.

Speaker 2 (01:38:40):
First one is good for Jerald makes it fifty seven
forty eight Pioneers lead with eighteen seconds left. One more
at the line for Jerald and two for two at
the line is Jerald Ray with the ball eighteen and
counting across the timeline with fourteen from the Wings, dribbling

(01:39:04):
steps back, pulls up from three, that draws back iron
rebound is gonna go out of bounds as seven point three.
Let the play and the Pioneers holding a ten point lead,
then down to Gerald and that's gonna do it. Here
from Zane Thras High School, Final School, the Pioneers fifty

Quarterback Here to Zane Trace High School where the final
score was the Pioneers fifty eight the west Fall Mustangs
forty eight. The Pioneers improved to fifteen and two overall,
eleven and one in the SVC. West Fall falls to
seven and ten and seven and five in the SVC.
We'll go over to coach and look at some stats

(01:44:32):
from tonight's contest.

Speaker 3 (01:44:33):
Yeah, and again, I think tonight you saw Zaane Trace
do some uncharacteristic type stuff, some turnovers, some poor shooting,
and when you're able to come away with the victory
after doing some of that stuff that they don't normally do,
that's always a positive. Looking at the numbers, Zane Trace
was eighteen and fifty one, shooting thirty five percent. A

(01:44:56):
team that normally shoots in the high forties is also
then also seven of twenty five from beyond the r
twenty eight percent, and they were thirteen of twenty three
from the free throw line. We're gonna get Coach Joseph

(01:45:17):
here on real quick, as he came up here quickly
after the game. I think when you look at this game,
you go back to the second quarter, it was twenty
to twenty and they went on a little ten o
run there to end that quarter. I think that from
that point on you were just trying and scrapping to
get back into it.

Speaker 27 (01:45:38):
Yeah, that's kind of what I just told the guys
in the locker room. There's you know, there's only one
thing to be disappointed on in this thirty two minute game,
and that was you know, about a two or three
minute stretch there in the second quarter. I think we
were actually up twenty eighteen, so it was twelve oh
to in the YEP. In the half, just lost our
composure on some Obviously they killed us on the boards,

(01:46:00):
but I think we we got frustrated with some stuff
and just got away from ourselves for a couple of minutes,
and that was the difference in the game.

Speaker 2 (01:46:07):
And again, I haven't seen you play yet this year,
but I've been looking at scores and seeing you create
a lot of things for teams.

Speaker 28 (01:46:14):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (01:46:15):
You create a lot of chaos defensively and then offensively,
you create all kinds of problems because of things that
you do offensively.

Speaker 2 (01:46:23):
You're able to get into gaps and throw the ball
back out. You're just a team that I used the
word had a lot of controlled chaos, and that's what
you had from that third quarter and fourth quarter. That's
what you brought out there.

Speaker 27 (01:46:36):
Yeah, you know, that's that's kind of what you know,
it's what we're going for. You know, we're we're obviously
super undersized. We'll feel like we need to turn some turns,
teams over first quick shots. We you know, we just
have to be able to rebound a little better with that,
which is hard because a lot of times, you know,
we're we're flying around, we're rotating. They got us out
numbered on the backside. But but still stuff that we

(01:46:59):
can do a little better job of. But yeah, that's
what we're going for. And again, I can't fault the effort.
I thought we did some things really well. I know,
I knew we'd be ready to go tonight. It's just
a matter of could we rebound enough, could we make
enough shots?

Speaker 2 (01:47:15):
Again tonight, you're led by your two big scores, Joe
Ray with twenty and Brian Craig with twelve.

Speaker 3 (01:47:20):
They they really cause problems for other teams because of
so many different things they can do. And again tonight
we saw that on the basketball floor.

Speaker 27 (01:47:29):
Yep, they you know, they obviously lead us on that
end of the floor. We got to continue to get
better at getting them some easier ones. And I think
earlier we had some more contributions from some other guys too,
and we're a little better.

Speaker 2 (01:47:43):
When we can get that too.

Speaker 27 (01:47:44):
And I think, you know, it's kind of a continuing
theme as games go on and we feel like we
need to score, need to score, and just everyone the boss,
you know, stops moving quite as well. Sometimes we don't
run the floor quite as well, and it turns on
the standard and watching but death. You know, we need
them to score. But got got to try and find

(01:48:05):
a way to get a little more well rounded too.

Speaker 3 (01:48:07):
Well, you got two more games, I believe looking at
the schedules I have you have Southeastern on Friday at
home and then you're on the road and non league
game to Lynchburg play on Saturday. I believe again, Uh,
you look at the uh you know league race. You
guys have caused some havoc in the league. But tournament
time is coming up, and I'll tell you what, with

(01:48:27):
the way you played tonight, I don't think there's too
many teams.

Speaker 2 (01:48:31):
I want to see your name on that bracket with them.

Speaker 27 (01:48:33):
Yeah, I mean that's been our you know, since since
we all the way back to you know, right after
the New Year when we lost to Dina at home,
you know, we're kind of out of the league race
and the focus which really was already but is hey,
we we got to get to where we're the best
version of ourselves, best basketball.

Speaker 2 (01:48:51):
That we can.

Speaker 27 (01:48:53):
Obviously we want to win, win, win a few more
games along the way, but get to you know, we
still feel like we have a pretty good group that
compete with anyone. You know, you look at our our
district and you know a lot of those teams we're
going to be playing our teams that we've played and
we've either beat or we've been ahead in the fourth
border or you know, lost close games too. So it's just, yeah,

(01:49:16):
we want to get to the best version of ourselves
so that we're ready to go come tournament time.

Speaker 3 (01:49:20):
Well, coach, we appreciate you coming up and talking to us.
Best luck as you move forward.

Speaker 2 (01:49:24):
Thanks, you're welcome, And.

Speaker 3 (01:49:26):
Again that is coach Joseph from the West Fall Mustangs.
Tonight come away with a loss here at Zane trace
fifty eight to forty eight. Continuing on with some stats here,
looking at west Fall, they were fifteen of forty five
shooting thirty three percent, five of seventeen from beyond the
arc twenty nine percent, and they were eleven of fourteen

(01:49:49):
shooting from the free throw line for seventy nine percent.
Both teams had seventeen turnovers, and I think that comes
into play because of the defenses that these play, causing chaos,
causing other teams trouble on that end of the floor.
Now we're going to go with coach Tyler Cassidy, who

(01:50:11):
comes up here. Coach, not the easiest game for you
guys to go through here tonight, But I think you
go back to the second quarter again, you guys were
tied twenty twenty and coach had just mentioned you guys
were actually up, are down twenty to eighteen, and went
on a twelve o run to end that second quarter.

Speaker 29 (01:50:31):
Yeah, I think our kids just played really hard during
that segment. The possession that I remember we didn't even
score on, but we offense rebounded it four times in
a row, and we struggled to shoot it a little
bit in the second half. But over the weekend, I
felt like we really did not play to our standard
physically at McClain, and we kind of got beat up
a little bit. We got out rebounded by eight there,

(01:50:53):
and if that doesn't happen, I don't know that we
have the aggressiveness that these guys had on the boards tonight,
because I think we had us out rebounding them by
twenty and that was just a big key to the
game tonight. And I think during that stretch a lot
of those were second chance offered starts.

Speaker 3 (01:51:11):
I think west Fall brings a unique type of defense
and I sort of used the phrase they have controlled chaos.
That's what they want to create. And I thought tonight
you guys had a little trouble with that uncharacteristics. I
had you at seventeen turnovers. I may have missed a
few in there, but um characteristic for you guys.

Speaker 29 (01:51:28):
Yeah, I thought that their ball pressure got to us
a little bit, and I mean, we need to clean
that up. And it's good that, you know, we faced
a team that has that kind of ball pressure tonight
because that's probably what we're gonna see on Friday, and
we just need to, you know, be a.

Speaker 2 (01:51:43):
Little bit stronger, just a little bit stronger with the ball.

Speaker 29 (01:51:45):
We need to there are times that we didn't you know,
pass it with you know, we didn't make a pass
fake or we we just were a little lack of
days cool with our passing, and those are things that
these guys just need to learn from and clean up.

Speaker 3 (01:51:58):
Again, tonight was not a night and anybody was really
hot from the field. You did struggle shooting the ball,
but your team is basically what they are. They can
all help and have this. I had Landon Jerald with fifteen,
I had Gunner mccallo with twelve, and then you had
Grady Stewart nine, you had Landon Robinson nine.

Speaker 2 (01:52:17):
You had Ezra Ribbit with seven.

Speaker 3 (01:52:19):
So again, just a nice team offense and again no
second chance opportunities played big for you.

Speaker 29 (01:52:26):
Yeah, I think you know that's the way we've done
it all years.

Speaker 2 (01:52:29):
We've been really balanced.

Speaker 29 (01:52:30):
And there was a stretch there I think in the
third quarter, maybe at the beginning of the fourth that
we could have maybe thrown it one more and we
took mid range jumpers and we go back through statting
the whole year and that's the worst shot for us
in basketball. We want to shoot threes or layups or
get it down inside of this guy Gunner, and you know,
we we had opportunities, I think to kick a little

(01:52:51):
bit and we did it, and then I think we
learned from it.

Speaker 2 (01:52:54):
Down the stretch and we got.

Speaker 29 (01:52:56):
The ball, like Ezra struggled a little bit, and then
he hit a big three for us. And you go
back to the first half. Judah Hanks came in, he
made a couple mistakes and then he hit a big three,
and that's just kind of like culturally, what we talk
about is you just got to continue to play. And
when we did have those turnovers down the stretch, I
think we're up by ten or twelve in the last
minute thirty and they cut it to I don't know

(01:53:18):
five or six. And but one thing that you saw there,
especially under a minute, is when we turned it over,
we didn't hang our head. We got right back defensively
we made us so like that again, it just goes
back to the discipline of these guys of continuing to
play even through mistakes.

Speaker 3 (01:53:36):
Yeah, and again, free throw you didn't shoot those well
tonight either, but you made your last five and that's
where it counts.

Speaker 2 (01:53:41):
Well, coach.

Speaker 3 (01:53:41):
On Friday, that's the game A lot of people have
circled in it's going to happen. So what happens between
now and Friday.

Speaker 29 (01:53:49):
Well, in practice, we have to be intense. We've got
to try to replicate the kind of ball pressure that
we know we're going to get from Yuniota. We got
to be you know, better in transition, which I think
I think we have been, and we know the challenge
that they present and it's going to be you know,
it's going to be a tough game. But I think
our guys have continually risen to the challenge and I

(01:54:11):
think they'll be ready as well.

Speaker 2 (01:54:12):
We'll get a really good game.

Speaker 3 (01:54:13):
I'm going to be right here and have a great seat.
I might even sell my seat, who knows, because there's
gonna be a lot of people want to be here.
But thanks for coming up here tonight. We're going to
talk to Gunner here and get his thoughts.

Speaker 2 (01:54:23):
All right, Thank you guys. Yep.

Speaker 3 (01:54:28):
So Gunner McCullough, h you're sort of one of those
quiet guys on this team. But you seem like you're
always at the right place at the right time. Uh
what where do you see your scene? What role do
you think you.

Speaker 2 (01:54:43):
Play here for Daint Trace. I'm just here trying to
get rebounds.

Speaker 28 (01:54:49):
There we go, all right, I'm just here trying to
get rebounds, get shots of the guards, miss and stuff
like that.

Speaker 2 (01:54:54):
Get transition layups, easy points like that. And I know
you're you're a guy who's played a lot with these guys,
played a lot of basketball, and they know where you're
gonna be, and you know where they're gonna be. And
it seems like anytime somebody drives, you know, hey, I'm
gonna get to the backside because if I'm open, they're
gonna get.

Speaker 12 (01:55:11):
It to me.

Speaker 28 (01:55:12):
It's that team chemistry.

Speaker 3 (01:55:15):
Well, that's exactly what you guys have. Offensively. We don't
see you step out very much. Are we gonna maybe
see you step out a little bit or.

Speaker 2 (01:55:27):
Give it a little bit. Okay, I'll get there eventually.
Go ahead, coach. I don't know if you noticed, but
he's got some hardware around his neck here. Why don't
you tell us what you got there?

Speaker 28 (01:55:36):
These are the charge chains. Every time somebody takes a
charger in the game, the ball boys get them, and
then after the game, whoever takes the charges gets the
chains and they're supposed to wear him the school the
next day.

Speaker 2 (01:55:47):
I think you should have had one. I don't think
they went your way, but I think you should have three.
Of those chains around your neck.

Speaker 3 (01:55:53):
Yeah, all right, well, Gunner, Fridays gonna be a big game, sir,
give me your thought.

Speaker 28 (01:56:00):
Just gotta prepare, get ready for Friday. Don't think about
it until the time comes. That's all we can do.

Speaker 3 (01:56:06):
Play toughness and it's gonna be fun too, Yes, it will.
All right, Well, Gunner, appreciate you coming up. Enjoy watching
you play in the style you play with. Thank you,
all right, Gunner McCollough. Good luck to you on Friday.
Have a good night you too. So again from Zane
Trace here tonight it's a Zane Trace Pioneers fifty.

Speaker 2 (01:56:25):
Eight to forty eight. Victory sets up Friday Nights pretty
much for control of the league. I believe Zane Trace
only has.

Speaker 3 (01:56:33):
Two games left, where I think you n Yoda has
three games left in the league. So the winner of
Friday Night's game is going to control what happens here
the rest of the way.

Speaker 2 (01:56:44):
Yeah, big one on Friday, that'll pretty much decide the league.
Both those teams have one loss, only blemish on Zane
TRACE's record. Was that loss earlier this season too, un Yoda.
As far as that game. Looking forward, I think Zain
and Trace had a little bit of struggles closing out
the game tonight, and unfortunately they Fortunately for them, they

(01:57:07):
kept less Fall from executing to come back in it
because they cut it back to a six point game
and only shooting fifty percent from the free throw line.
Like you said, that's going to have to improve if
they want to be a team like Yinoto, and again,
a game like tonight.

Speaker 3 (01:57:22):
As a coach, you're going to take a lot of
stuff out here to get your team really focused for Friday. Hey, yeah,
you got a win on Tuesday, but there were a
lot of things that went wrong that we got to
correct for Friday.

Speaker 2 (01:57:34):
So that's Tonight's a game. As a coach, you.

Speaker 3 (01:57:37):
Love to see some of the issues that they had
because now you can really focus on that and keep
them focused. Let me go through the rest of the
scoring here individually on the night for west Fall, as
I said, Joe Ray with twelve, Brian Craig or Joe
Ray with twenty, Brian Craig with twelve, Hayden Rigsby had
seven for west Fall, Brock Williams with four, Ethan Rose

(01:57:59):
had three, and Nate Woolf had two for the Zane
Trace Pioneers. As I said, they were led tonight by
Landon Gerald so and double figures Gunnar McCullough nine points
each for Grady Stewart and Landon Robinson seven points forever
Ezra Rippeth. Then we had Noah Houston with three points

(01:58:20):
and also Judah Hanks with three points.

Speaker 2 (01:58:24):
Well Chris Big One on Friday, yep, another fun one

game on WBEX. There was not a game tonight, but
they do play tomorrow at hillsbro and we will hopefully
have that here, not here on our sister station on
the EX. So a lot of basketball here to come
