Speaker 1 (00:00):
Good morning, dough bar don and good dog. Whatever language
you speak, and wherever you're at in the galaxy, scratch that.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
Wherever you're at in the universe, humans aliens alike.
Speaker 1 (00:15):
You are tuned into what we affectionately call the worst
case scenario. For once, we actually made it to the
airwaves this week with no significant hurdles barely.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
Yeah, I just gave up.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
Yeah, all right, that's what I would say. Oh, oh
if it was the case. Oh, but it wasn't. Oh,
because our fearless leader program director chat I but you
guys have heard of them right through the trades. He
wanted to debut a brand new podcast called opp Other
(00:47):
People's Plates with Tommy Olsen.
Speaker 2 (00:51):
Huh.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
Unfortunately, Thomas succumbed to food poisoning from eating a freshly
cooked meal that had not been bitten off of. So
the bus two flavor town will be driven by ours
truly me included. My name is Max Fuller aka Max
Rayah Carey aka Froa Lyles aka A million other things.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
Do you like that one? Yes? I did, judging by
my snort, Yes I saw.
Speaker 1 (01:19):
I'm no good hence the word worst in the title
of the show. But luckily for me and for you
the listener. I'm surrounded by greatness here in this studio.
First up, we got a guy. He's so jazzed up
about Olympic break dancing. He's blue in the face from
spinning on his head all morning. I head that, I
might add, is sporting a red, white and blue do rag.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
Yes, so he gets maximum spin.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
When I asked him what he wanted to talk about
this morning, he said popping, locking, and dropping in that order.
And Iowa they called him the Cornfield Casanova. In Minnesota,
we simply call him be Boyd.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
Who did the song pop, Lock and drop.
Speaker 1 (02:06):
It Huwie, his name is just Shuwie. Just good iTunes
money on that song back of the Day.
Speaker 3 (02:16):
I know the tune so yesterday during isn't so good
to have football bank? It's so good, it's the best.
And while watching that two second story was putting together
an Ike addresser. Worst thing ever sucks. I hate putting
together ike furniture one that takes like hours. Uh yeah,
that's pretty much it. Yeah, Football's back, baby, Football.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
Is back, and so is this next man.
Speaker 1 (02:45):
At some point during the show, he's gonna tell us
some another ridiculous story. Like every week. I mean, I
don't know what it's gonna be this week. He's I
don't know, a founding member of the jab Awakes. They
used to be called the Jabba Robbie. He once beat
Steph Curry and Papa shot at Chuck E Cheese and
somehow it'll all be true. That's why we call him
(03:08):
the Human Onion. That's why we call him the Man
of a Million Stories. That's why we call him mister
Robbie Rose.
Speaker 4 (03:15):
Well, it's always a pleasure to be here with everybody here.
And again, we almost didn't make it here today.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
And I I specifically almost didn't make it here today
due to a car issue.
Speaker 4 (03:27):
But we're here. This isn't Ai Robbie, this isn't Robbie Robot.
And yeah, it should be fun over the next couple hours.
In the next couple of weeks, we have a couple
of fair shows coming up, so a lot of fun
coming up. On the worst case scenario, car battery problem, Yeah,
car battery problems. Yes, you know the rapper Kevin Gates.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
Are you familiar with him?
Speaker 4 (03:46):
I have not.
Speaker 1 (03:47):
He once said and claims it's true that he restarted
his car battery with his bare hands.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
Is that what you did? No, definitely not.
Speaker 4 (03:57):
Although the most ironic thing was that when I sitting
there in my car waiting for roadside assistance, I didn't
have a kit, I didn't have anybody nearby to help
jump start the car. Is that at nine fifty one
am today I get an email from pep boys for
a free battery battery installation offer, somebody's watching over me
or something?
Speaker 2 (04:15):
Oh by, away we go and I'm here today with you.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
Guys, and we're happy to have you here, and we're
lucky to be joined by our very special guest after
crying at every Olympic event for the last two weeks,
the only person's eyes who are redder than hers or
snoop doggs. If you miss her on worst case scenario,
fear not, you can find her at your local gas
station buying a twenty four pack of Diet coke, two
(04:40):
tins of chew, five lottery tickets, and a six pack
of gas station sex bills.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
She's currently serving a.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
Lifetime term as the Queen of Our Hearts and President
of the Roub.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
She is the one and only Haley Darling. Hey, Hi guys,
Hi Haley.
Speaker 5 (04:58):
So if you don't get that bit. I saw my
hero yesterday at the gas station in Wisconsin. This woman
bought two tinses in, two packs of cigarettes and then
lottery tickets and I was just like, there goes my hero. Yeah,
and then she just walks off, and I'm like, I
just want to follow her and see where her day goes.
Speaker 2 (05:18):
It sounds like Saturday night.
Speaker 5 (05:19):
Yeah, this was at ten am.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
The Queen of my Heart, the American Dream.
Speaker 6 (05:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (05:28):
Honestly, I was like, that's that's someone living their best
life right there.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
So she's got it all. Yes, she did the whole thing.
Speaker 5 (05:35):
Just missing some booze.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
But she was going to the bar Wisconsin.
Speaker 4 (05:40):
So she's going from metal stands to keg snams and
a way we go.
Speaker 2 (05:44):
Every time I'm writing those intros, I just scroll your Twitter.
Speaker 1 (05:47):
There's always something. There's always some interesting quip there that
was interesting as a loaded word.
Speaker 5 (05:55):
There's there's something there that's for sure.
Speaker 1 (05:59):
Happy to be here with you guys today. You guys
have been a good weekend. Last summer's round and out. Yes,
it's kind of sad. I mean, I'm happy to have
football back, but like the chili Weather's back, it's fully
the summer's dead, Summer's gone.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
I really enjoyed, Haley. I know you did.
Speaker 4 (06:14):
I think you tweeted about it. I really enjoyed the
weather this week like it was.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
It was.
Speaker 4 (06:18):
It was snuggle under the you know, there was a
couple of days there where it was it night, just
leave the windows open.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
It was really really nice.
Speaker 5 (06:24):
Yeah, but when it's summer, I want summer. I want
ninety degrees. I want to walk in it. I want
the sun beating down on me. I know, I know
it's bad for you golfers, but for me, I'm like,
I want to go out on a walk in this.
I want a tan. I want to sit by the
push Oh yeah, sorry, but no, I enjoy this weather
in September, but not right now. Let August be August.
(06:47):
In September.
Speaker 3 (06:48):
I actually figured out that I do tan just because
I have a golf glove.
Speaker 4 (06:52):
Tan.
Speaker 2 (06:54):
Just see a lot. I didn't even notice Rickie Martin,
Yeah wow, I didn't know I could. I just saw
him burned. I was it. So you've heard something new,
hire correct.
Speaker 1 (07:10):
I spent my weekend at the movie theater, to the
surprise of nobody, actually went three days in a row embarrassingly.
Speaker 7 (07:16):
Okay, are you a secret millionaire movies?
Speaker 2 (07:21):
Are you an A list member?
Speaker 1 (07:22):
I got the movie pass, Yeah, I got the movie yeah. Yeah, yeah,
so I can. I can see like three, four or
five movies a month. It's like twenty dollars and it's
I mean, it's incredible.
Speaker 2 (07:31):
A really good deal.
Speaker 1 (07:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (07:32):
Okay, I'm thinking you're paying like fifteen dollars.
Speaker 4 (07:37):
Every twenty five a month and you give it a
few movies a week.
Speaker 1 (07:40):
Until I got the movie pass, you know, I was.
I was the king of bootlegs. I still lamb some movies.
I watched Borderlands later today. I like, it doesn't deserve
a theater viewing, Okay, but I will go see movies in.
Speaker 2 (07:50):
Theater as much as possible. I went and saw The Cuckoo.
Speaker 1 (07:53):
It's called Cuckoo in the movie with Hunter Schaeffer from
a Euphoria Fame. It's not a movie review. It's a
really odd movie. I mean, put Hunter Shaffer in everything.
She was incredible. It was a really odd movie. But
when I went into the theater, me and the person
that I went with, we're the only two people in
the whole damn theater. Like nobody was there. We could
(08:14):
have been butt naked doing the Ma Karina. Nobody would
have saw it, nobody would have ever been the wiser.
But when we were leaving the theater, the it was
flooded with people, and I'm like, what, you know, Like,
what the hell's going on here?
Speaker 2 (08:29):
It was weird. It was a night and day difference.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
It was emptier than my bank account before I got there,
and then when I'm when I'm.
Speaker 2 (08:37):
Leaving it it's packed.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
And normally I only see the movies that packed when
there's like a big blockbuster movie, usually a Marvel movie
or something like that.
Speaker 2 (08:48):
But I didn't.
Speaker 1 (08:48):
I didn't waft in the distinct smell of bo and
I didn't see anybody just as a superhero. So I'm like, Okay,
it can't be can't be a Marvel movie for me?
What what the hell is going on here?
Speaker 2 (08:59):
Friendly Fire?
Speaker 1 (09:06):
And it took me a second to realize, but pretty
much every single person in the theater lobby was a
white woman.
Speaker 6 (09:12):
Hayley.
Speaker 1 (09:15):
It was basically correct, right, It was a Karen convention
in the West End over here. Okay. The per capita
on on Lululemon pants and and.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
And Starbucks coffee cups it was.
Speaker 1 (09:28):
It was through the roof and and then I realized
that the everyone was there to see the new Colleen
Hoover movie. And for the uninitiated, Colin Hoover is she's
a novelist, and she's who basically, Oh, you're the only
person that doesn't know brother, trust me, trust me.
Speaker 2 (09:45):
Trust me. I'll live, I'll be able to sleep. Just fun,
don't worry.
Speaker 1 (09:49):
She's basically like if Tyler Perry was a white woman
and wrote novels.
Speaker 2 (09:53):
Is that correct, Taylor, You are a Colleen Hoover fan.
Speaker 1 (09:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (09:56):
So I went through a time where, like two summers ago,
where I read probably fifteen of her books in a month.
I couldn't stop reading them. And you are correct, they're
they're not.
Speaker 2 (10:10):
Nobody's going to make a college course.
Speaker 5 (10:13):
They probably could about why we're so attracted to these novels.
Speaker 7 (10:17):
You're not learning anything from them, You're not gaining anything.
Speaker 5 (10:20):
It's not making you smarter better in any way. It's
just you're at least looking away from your phone for
the time you finish this. But I was like addicted
to these books.
Speaker 2 (10:33):
It was so bad.
Speaker 4 (10:34):
And you're not the only one, are They like Danielle
Steele novels or they different.
Speaker 5 (10:39):
I guess I was. I never read A Daniel. There's
some some racy moments, and I'm not bad, pretty interesting.
Speaker 1 (10:49):
I got a little smut, you, a little sprinkle you
just some ridiculous kind of romance.
Speaker 4 (10:56):
Yeah, right, some but polarizing nonetheless, right, Like, I mean,
there are definitely people that respond with because it's not
it's not highbrow, but that kind of is.
Speaker 1 (11:07):
I don't think it's specifically towards Colling Hoover. It's just
that style of novel. Yeah, that's not her, it's just
the Yeah people that, you know, people reading Dostoyevski are like, oh,
Colling Hoover. You know, it's it's the downfall of society.
But it's We've always had pulpy kind of books like that.
Speaker 5 (11:23):
I think it's like it's similar to Fifty Shades of Gray,
kind of that phenomenon. It's called chick lit. And yeah,
it's smut and it's a story that's very easy to
digest and you get through the if you're a fast reader,
you can get through the book in a day and
it's good.
Speaker 1 (11:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (11:42):
Now I'm kind of like I should get back into it, right, Yeah,
they're they're interesting, for sure, and it's a good way
to not look at your phone or watch TV for
a few hours exactly.
Speaker 2 (11:54):
And I mean you clearly, it's gripped the nation.
Speaker 1 (11:58):
She's one of the most popular, if not the most
popular novelist in the country right now.
Speaker 5 (12:03):
And there was a couple summers ago, I mean, that's
all anyone was talking about is her books.
Speaker 1 (12:08):
She was like the original kind of book talk like
book TikTok author, right, like one of the first ones
when that blew up simultaneously with her.
Speaker 5 (12:17):
Blowing up, correct, Yes, And I think that obviously escalated
her fame for sure, because it was so easy for
people to to convince other people to read them.
Speaker 2 (12:26):
Yeah, for sure.
Speaker 1 (12:27):
And I think this is like the first big movie
adaptation of one of her novels.
Speaker 3 (12:32):
Yes, and Blake Lively, Yeah, Blake Lively Yah, Yeah, she was,
She's the star.
Speaker 5 (12:36):
Of the movie, right And this is arguably like her
biggest or second biggest book. Her other biggest one is
probably called Verity. But this is the first film adaptation.
And there was some controversy when this came out because
Blake Lively was cast. People are like, that's not the
right person to play Lily for sure. The girl in
the book Lily is like twenty three years old, not
(12:58):
saying Blake Lively's too old, so she's a thirty six
year old woman. I'm thirty six. I can't play a
twenty three year old, So I think she was just
cast because she is a big name. She is very talented,
but they could have found someone who would have fit
the role a little bit better right off the bat.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
Interesting, I didn't even I didn't even hear any of
the controversy, and clearly it did not impact sales. A
bunch of money, bags and bags of money. And it
was super cool. Regardless of how people feel about Collen
Hoover's novels, it's super cool to see that many people
in the movie theater just off the strength of a book,
you know, Like I get part of it was Blake
Lively and she's a superstar and stuff, but she hasn't
(13:36):
really been super active in her acting career lately, so
it's just it's purely off the strength of it being
a Colleen Hoover thing.
Speaker 2 (13:43):
And it's cool seeing all these.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
People invested in this book and this fictional relationship that
takes place in this movie, so it's got it kind
of got my gears going, got me thinking, what is
a fictional relationship, whether it be from a novel, a
TV show, a movie, what is a fictional relationship ship
that you are way too invested in as if they
were real people.
Speaker 4 (14:05):
I mean, I mean, growing up, I was a huge
Saved by the Bell fans. I guess Zach and Kelly.
I mean just the ongoing kind of relationship between the
two of them, I mean Slater and Jesse to a
lesser extent, but definitely the Zach and Kelly romance and
then the prom when they're dancing outside, yeah, with the
with the spotlight on them, and just just all those
(14:27):
memories of just well were they going to wind up together?
Because then later in the show she wound up with
Patrick muldoon and the attic and that older.
Speaker 2 (14:34):
Guy who was the manager. She just closed her eyes
for a second, shook her head.
Speaker 4 (14:43):
Like, so this is this has become a Saved by
the Bell show. But no, that was Zach marsh Is
still tracked. Well, well, I knew that was coming in
from the risk associate at some point, that was going
to come in from the rafters. But I was very
invested in that show as a kid, and I was
very invested in that relationship. So when they did fine
wind up together. The College Years was a crummy show,
but they were together on that show.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
But I enjoyed the Yeah.
Speaker 5 (15:07):
Yeah, the Vegas Wedding, Yeah, Veggas movie.
Speaker 4 (15:09):
Yes, which which was good in itself, but again the
Hawaiian Vacation I think was a better movie. It was,
But going back to just a relationship, that was something
I was invested in Max, and of course Haley was too.
Speaker 5 (15:20):
I guess, oh, totally, yes, for sure. I well, I
guess I was thinking more recently.
Speaker 3 (15:26):
I think.
Speaker 5 (15:31):
I think Ben and Leslie from Parks and rec is
probably my relationship goals because they are so supportive of
one another and Ben actually put Leslie's needs first before his,
and her career before his, and he actually stepped back
from a role so that she could be everything. And
(15:51):
I just love that. And they're weird together and they're
goofy and they have fun and love. I love those
two together, for.
Speaker 2 (15:58):
Sure, They're amazing.
Speaker 1 (15:59):
Same show, but a Brolin Andy that would be relationship goals.
Speaker 4 (16:04):
Yeah, So back when I don't know, this had to
be fifteen years ago. I watched the first couple of
seasons with somebody I was seeing at the time, Gray's Anatomy,
And I remember, was it Meredith and George?
Speaker 5 (16:15):
Right, and everybody was Meredith and uh McDreamy.
Speaker 4 (16:19):
Oh right, right, but but George was in love with
her and then right and they finally ended up right,
But yes, didn't know it didn't last. No, but yes,
that would be another one. Gray's Anatomy was a goat
show back then.
Speaker 2 (16:33):
Back then it's still going. I mean, the first few
seasons were just amazing.
Speaker 5 (16:38):
Oh I can still watch that show. And yeah, oh
that'll hit me where.
Speaker 2 (16:44):
That was just another one that popped into my head.
Speaker 1 (16:45):
Yeah, what about you, Brett Blakemore, what's a fictional I'm
very curious about your answer. What is a fictional relationship
that you are too invested in? Like you would you
live and die with this couple. You'd be heartbroken if
they split? What is a fictional relationship? I had to
just adore. I had to die through all the romance
novels that I clearly need to read to be a
part of the show. I need to go through the
(17:06):
New York Times bestseller list. Here's one thing I wanted
and it's kind of ancillary to this, but it is still.
I watched for the first time last night. Uh, Saint
almos Fire, that eighties movie.
Speaker 2 (17:21):
I've heard it.
Speaker 3 (17:23):
It's a lot of high school romance on and off.
It's horrendous.
Speaker 2 (17:28):
One of the worst movies I've ever seen.
Speaker 3 (17:30):
It's got a great cast. Well, yeah, it's the the
brat Pack who I'm learning about. Yeah, exactly every character
in the show is completely unlikable and they never learned
from their lessons ever, and it drove me absolutely bananas.
So I was trying to because I'm not a big
sitcom watcher either one as a kid though. Well, unfortunately,
(17:52):
my guy Rob Stark paid for his relationship, so so
that went down the tubes. Yeah, I mean maybe Danny
and John. But do you remember this, Max, this is
gonna be in your wheelhouse? Do you remember the cliffhanger
at the end of zoe wan on one?
Speaker 2 (18:05):
Yes, yeah, that.
Speaker 4 (18:11):
Was.
Speaker 2 (18:12):
They just came out of the movie recently. I think
I think they closed it up wrapped in Did they
get back together? I didn't see it?
Speaker 5 (18:18):
Okay, sorry old person here. Zoey one on one? Is
that the one that Britney Spears'.
Speaker 1 (18:22):
Sister was, Yeah, they all like lived it's like a school,
but they live at the school.
Speaker 2 (18:26):
What is it called boarding school or whatever. Yeah, and
so it was right on the beach.
Speaker 3 (18:31):
They had those stupid like flip side phones, you know, like.
Speaker 2 (18:38):
Warts.
Speaker 3 (18:40):
Right, Basically, they teased at the entire show, and then
the guy basically sends her a message at the end
of the show, like confessing his feelings, and her phone
drops in the water and the phone so she never
sees the message and everyone got pissed.
Speaker 2 (18:55):
Yeah, that's how it ended.
Speaker 1 (19:02):
I'm surprised mine wasn't said already, but I'm it's the
it's the kind of a quintessential answer, a corny answer.
But Jim and Pam, Jim and Pam. I was very
invested in there controversal Yeah, I've actually, I mean, Hayley
has some very strong opinions on Jim and Pam's relationship.
I do.
Speaker 5 (19:18):
We talked off air about this, but I one hundred
percent think Ben and Leslie have a better relationship than
Jim and Pam. And obviously they're not on the same show.
But it's the same era, same vibe of show creators. Yeah,
same creators and I think Jim and Pam their relationship
just it sucks kind of after they get married and
have kids. Like Pam almost cheats on Jim with the
(19:42):
camera show.
Speaker 2 (19:42):
That was the worst thing ever. Yeah, and she.
Speaker 5 (19:44):
Doesn't support him when he moves to Philadelphia part time
to start his dream company, and it's like it's she
resented him. And I mean maybe that's more real life,
but I don't.
Speaker 2 (19:55):
Want to sell.
Speaker 1 (19:56):
Yeah, we don't want real life. I want unrealistic relationship.
Speaker 5 (20:00):
Standing yeah, because mine always sucked.
Speaker 7 (20:04):
Right, I got enough for real life seriously, So Yeah,
I think Jim and Pam the years where they were
kind of going back and forth and he was in
love with her, beautiful, their wedding episodes are amazing, but
after they get into real life, it just kind of sucks.
Speaker 2 (20:22):
And it's kind of Yeah, that is very true.
Speaker 1 (20:25):
And I more so think of like before, like the
early part of their relationship when it was still very romantic,
because I despise the end of it when she almost
cheated on him.
Speaker 2 (20:34):
I just didn't think that was necessary that episode.
Speaker 5 (20:36):
I think it's the end of season three where Jim's
interviewing for that for Jan's job in New York and
he comes back, and then he comes back and she's
in the interviews.
Speaker 2 (20:48):
I cry every single time their wedding.
Speaker 1 (20:50):
I cry every single time I've ever watched it. The
first time I saw it was out of context. I
didn't even watch the show when I was crying. Oh seriously, Yeah,
Like someone did a presentation and on it in one
of my college classes and I was bawling and I
was crying.
Speaker 5 (21:03):
And then it was so pop culture intertwined because they
did the Chris Brown walking down the eye thing.
Speaker 2 (21:12):
Yes, it was. It was the only Chris Brown song
that can bring tears to my eyes.
Speaker 3 (21:17):
Yeah, a lot timeless, not necessarily the song is called Forever,
so I guess it technically about technically is timeless.
Speaker 4 (21:27):
Chris Brown was like right, he was like number one
in the basically like worldwide status, Like think about that.
Speaker 2 (21:33):
And then all of a sudden obvious Okay, yeah, there
you go. Lots of lots of this.
Speaker 1 (21:37):
This is the question is it was blowing up the
text line lots of Corey and Topanga from.
Speaker 2 (21:43):
But I'm a really good one.
Speaker 1 (21:44):
I I disagreed because I wanted to be in a
relationship with Topanga. So I just I despised Cory.
Speaker 2 (21:53):
I was like, damn it, that's woman.
Speaker 4 (21:55):
An unbelievable show preceded by Family Matters.
Speaker 2 (21:58):
How about Stephen law Erkle and Laurel Oh yeah, just no,
that's all right, No.
Speaker 4 (22:05):
Chas basically every episode, like you know, when you put
it like that, right, a couple of Huey and starlights
from the Boys.
Speaker 1 (22:15):
If anybody's here has watched The Boys, I am very
invested in their relationship as well. Someone a Texas has
made God strike down Brett for a saint, and I'm
telling you.
Speaker 4 (22:26):
It is.
Speaker 2 (22:31):
Very he is. Brett is a man in motion.
Speaker 3 (22:33):
I could go so long on how bad that movie is.
It's so bad it's terrible.
Speaker 4 (22:40):
For you. I will say, yeah, if you come back
at me with the Breakfast Club is a bad movie,
then we're gonna have problems.
Speaker 2 (22:45):
And that is an amazing, amazing movie. I've only seen
it once. I'd have to refresh. Unbelievable.
Speaker 1 (22:53):
Maybe you just needed a segment just bad movie takes
from from Brett.
Speaker 3 (23:04):
Emilio Estevez in that movie is literally a psychopathic stalker
who follows this girls around and then no one's like, oh, yeah,
that's that's just him.
Speaker 2 (23:14):
That's just Kirby. Oh it's so bad. That's terrible. Sorry,
I'm on my own show. Here go ahead.
Speaker 1 (23:19):
Anyway, if there's any other fictional relationships that we haven't
talked about that you have become way too invested, and

of you. From there, you can get those thumbs moving
and text us six four six eighty six, like I
just said, shoot us an email boot at kfan dot com,
or even send us a talk back on the free
iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (23:58):
We're actually gonna need even more input.
Speaker 1 (24:01):
From the audience than usual because we're doing it basically
and ask us anything segment, anything you've ever wanted to
know about, worst case scenario, anything you've ever wanted to
know about worst case scenario. You know what I did,
but in spirit, So shoot us a text, email us,
(24:22):
call us whatever you want to know.
Speaker 2 (24:24):
We want your questions.
Speaker 1 (24:25):
I got some pre prepared questions, but those are lame.
We want the questions from the audience, So please shoot
us questions. Anything you want to know about, worst case scenario,
we will answer it. There's plenty of sports stuff to
get into today, Vikings. Football is back, baby, the Olympics
is coming to a close. Plus, we got a new
twist on the mixed Bag segment, and as always, we
(24:48):
will close out the show with the fan Favorite segment.
How it works, the three of us will each present
a topic and then we put it all in your hands.
Speaker 2 (24:56):
You can vote on Twitter slash x at kavan one.
Speaker 1 (24:58):
Zero zero three and you just side what We are
going to close out the show with Robbie Rosenhouse.
Speaker 2 (25:03):
You are nodding your head excitedly.
Speaker 1 (25:05):
It looks like it looks like you have something in
the in the hopper for fan favor I.
Speaker 4 (25:09):
Don't know about excitedly, but it's it's definitely in the
mood of today. So with my travel issues, Max, I
know you've traveled the world, Haley, You've certainly traveled a
lot Brett. You've now traveled to Europe and traveled from
coast to coast. So I was thinking about your best
or worst travel story. So basically something that you encountered.
Speaker 1 (25:27):
Or I would say, you're actually on the trip, no,
like you're like an airport getting getting.
Speaker 4 (25:34):
Yeah, so so that wouldn't be best, but it would
be worse. So your worst kind of transportation or travel
story and things that you've encountered and how you got
from place to place and and and whatnot. I have
I have a really good one for you guys, but
we'll see if the listeners.
Speaker 1 (25:47):
Oh, yeah, I got I got my most recent Yeah,
I turned I turned into a Karen Speaking of Karens,
I turned into a Carrien Aport. That's the worst travel stories,
Haley Darling, have you got something for the fan favorite segment?
Speaker 5 (26:04):
I do well. In the spirit of the this being
the final day of the Olympics, I want to know
what is like the everyday task or thing that you
do that you would gold medal in. So not an
actual Olympic Olympics sport. You be careful, we are, Yeah,
(26:24):
what would you gold medal in?
Speaker 8 (26:27):
That's what I want to.
Speaker 1 (26:27):
Know, Okay, Okay, all right, I like that one, and
I don't have to clean up my answers.
Speaker 2 (26:33):
I don't have a whole lot, but I can say, oh, recC.
Speaker 1 (26:36):
Airwaves, Brett Blake Moore, what is the third and final
option for the fan favorite segment?
Speaker 2 (26:40):
I want to talk some football. I want to talk
to some football.
Speaker 3 (26:43):
Okay, So it is the first the first week of
preseason is in the books. Every team is played. Let's
get your best NFL overreactions to just one game of
meaningless preseason football. Let's overreact as much as possible.
Speaker 1 (26:56):
All right, that's classic sports radio reacting a training camps
do it. So we got worse travel stories, we got
over reactions, and we got everyday things that you wouldn't
meddle in if they were in the Olympics. Go ahead
and vote on Twitter, slash x at cafe and one
zero zero three, and we'll talk about whatever is the
(27:17):
winner around the corner.
Speaker 2 (27:19):
That we're talking Olympics. It's coming to a close and
I'm so emotional over it. We will lament the loss
of the Olympics.
Speaker 1 (27:26):
And highlight all of the glory of it over the
last couple of weeks. This is worst case scenario on
a Sunday on the fan welcome back, worst case scenario
(27:52):
on a Sunday, Max Fuller, Robbie rosenhouse Bred, Blake Moore,
Haley Darling, and the text line is lit up with
everybody's favorite fictional couples.
Speaker 2 (28:02):
After that first segment, we spent about twenty.
Speaker 1 (28:05):
Minutes just talking about our favorite fictional couples, and there
are just dozens, scores and scores of answers here on
the Bradshawn Bryant text line. Lily and Marshall from How
I Met Your Mother. I think it's a word one
of the worst shows of all time. I'm sorry texture
six five zero seven, guy, I apologize.
Speaker 2 (28:22):
I hate Lily and Marshall, so I can't I can't
go or worst ending worst show. Yeah, it is in
the realm of.
Speaker 1 (28:29):
Big Bang Theory, like they are are duking it out
in a heavyweight slugfest for one of.
Speaker 2 (28:35):
The worst shows of all time.
Speaker 5 (28:36):
And I admit I hate watched How I Met Your
Mother after it had already concluded, because people I was
around were like, this is the greatest show. You have
to watch it. I watched the whole thing in its entirety.
It's terrible. It's so bad.
Speaker 1 (28:51):
It's not good at all, and I'm sorry. You can
text us six four six eighty six if you disagree.
Nick Miller and Jessica from New Girl, I do I
love me some New Girl girl what woo?
Speaker 5 (29:04):
Yeah, I know a great I never got into New Girl.
I just yeah, sorry, guys says.
Speaker 2 (29:11):
We want the old Max back. This new Max is
a sellout. I don't know what that mean. You sold out.
I sold out. I sold out.
Speaker 5 (29:20):
You've got big money getting your movie.
Speaker 2 (29:24):
That's what it is.
Speaker 7 (29:27):
Max.
Speaker 1 (29:28):
Oh, Max is actually seeing movies legally. What a froud?
Speaker 2 (29:32):
Haley the Drew Barrymore and the teacher had never been kissed.
Speaker 7 (29:37):
Well yeah, but now I look back at it and
it's like he had a crush on her thinking she was.
Speaker 8 (29:43):
A high school student, and that's round upon it was
just it was just a happy like it was just
a happy accident that she was of age.
Speaker 5 (29:54):
But no, he fully adored her and she he thought
she was seventeen years old.
Speaker 1 (30:00):
A lot of those like romance movies from even just
twenty years ago, ten years ago, that you watch again
and you're like, I don't think this is okay anymore.
Speaker 2 (30:09):
I never was, but I did.
Speaker 7 (30:11):
And again, don't get me wrong, I love an older man,
but you gotta be.
Speaker 2 (30:15):
Everyone has to be.
Speaker 4 (30:18):
I don't see them making Varsity Blues any anytime soon.
Speaker 2 (30:22):
I give it a ten.
Speaker 3 (30:24):
You know a relationship that I see online all the
time that I've never even seen the show, But I
just see people talking about is Andy Samberg's character in
Brooklyn nine to nine and I see it all the time,
like clips of that show of like him and the
female lead that they eventually get together apparently, but people
love that relationship.
Speaker 2 (30:43):
I guess yeah, I'm never judging that people love that show.
I gotta I gotta delve more into that show.
Speaker 1 (30:49):
The text line continues to be lit up, but the Olympics, unfortunately,
is not continuing.
Speaker 2 (30:55):
It is wrapping up.
Speaker 1 (30:56):
The twenty twenty four Olympic Games will be wrapping up
in Paris today. I don't know about y'all, but I'm
super I'm super duper emotional about it. The Olympics has
basically been my personality for the last two weeks.
Speaker 2 (31:07):
I mean, I don't what am I going to do?
You know, like a month ago, I couldn't. I don't.
Speaker 1 (31:11):
I didn't even know what water polo looks like yesterday
I was googling if I could play water polo in
the Twin Cities, if it was anywhere that I could
play water polo.
Speaker 2 (31:21):
It's serious. I came on these very airwaves slandered equestrian.
Speaker 1 (31:27):
By the end of the Olympics, I'm like, yeah, you know,
I'm like, oh, that horse doesn't got it. Yeah, it's
like this, this horse has the it factor, you know, Like, so.
Speaker 4 (31:35):
What is your favorite sport that you've discovered over your
over the last two weeks that you really really take it.
Speaker 1 (31:39):
There's a lot, but actually I wanted to start with
a brand new sport to the Olympics made its debut
on Friday. Breaking aka breakdancing. I've been hyping it up
for weeks before it was maybe as soon as it
was announced. I've been all in on it. We actually
talked to me and Brett talked to one of the
guys that founded He's like one of the inventors of
breakdancing crazy legs, and so it's it's it lived up
(32:03):
to all the hype.
Speaker 2 (32:04):
For me, it was so much fun. It was so personal.
Speaker 1 (32:07):
There was funny moments like the lady from Australia named
Rey Gun who went viral for looking like somebody's auntie
that had a little too many to drink at a wedding.
I'd have no idea how she got into the Olympics
of some people are saying she scammed her way and
I have no idea. But she was doing some some
weird ass interpretive dancers.
Speaker 2 (32:28):
I don't know what the hell that was, but it
was very entertaining.
Speaker 5 (32:31):
Is she the lady who got to zero zero votes?
Speaker 1 (32:34):
Like there was multiple rounds, you have like three or
four chances. Every person has three or four chances in
the opening round zero votes, and every single one of
those dances, wow zero.
Speaker 5 (32:45):
That's like me dancing no one. So I feel her pain.
But yeah, that was pretty painful to watch. But the
memes were.
Speaker 2 (32:53):
Hilarious, hilarious.
Speaker 5 (32:55):
The Internet is so good during the Olympics. It remains undefeated.
I don't know what you and I are going to
talk about anymore, because all we've done is send each
other stuff from the Hater Report, right Tatum and Tyrese Haliburton.
So I don't know what we're going to communicate about.
Speaker 2 (33:12):
Befoh, you literally have nothing. I'll talk to you in
twenty twenty eight, I guess.
Speaker 4 (33:17):
And speaking of twenty twenty eight, those Olympics are going
to be in Los Angeles and there's five new sports
coming in including flag football and lacrosse and baseball, so
that should be a lot of fun as well.
Speaker 1 (33:27):
Yeah, that will be a lot of fun. I'm very
much looking forward to the twenty twenty eight Olympics. This
was my first time being like all in on the
Olympics cycle and I loved it.
Speaker 2 (33:35):
The drama, the theater, just.
Speaker 1 (33:36):
The togetherness, the cohesion of everyone feels it's one thing
that we can all kind of get behind from every country.
Speaker 2 (33:44):
It's it's been incredible. Well so I.
Speaker 5 (33:46):
Think Borero and Jag talked about this the other day.
I don't want the Olympics to be here. The la
is not pretty wan.
Speaker 1 (33:54):
It sucks, it doesn't it doesn't feel global, and it's
in your backyard.
Speaker 5 (33:59):
It does not mean Paris is incredible and they got
to go to all these different cities and you have
the Eiffel Tower in the back of all this stuff. No,
the l A is gross. It's a hellhole. I think,
I don't think. I mean, what are they going to do?
Go to the Santa Monica Pier.
Speaker 2 (34:15):
That sucks.
Speaker 5 (34:16):
No, this is going to be yeah, a bad idea.
Speaker 3 (34:20):
I'm just happy for it that it's in La because
then I won't have to deal with the Texters saying
spoiler alert, I just spoiled the Olympics and get rid
of that.
Speaker 1 (34:29):
No.
Speaker 4 (34:29):
I love I love that it's here and I the
the Winter Olympics. That's just gonna that it's going to
be in Salt Lake City next decade. I think it's
a fantastic way for you know, if you want to go,
or the local people, like they're not going to be
traveling all over the world. Like La is a huge city.
It's not like it's in the middle of nowhere. I
disagree there where. I think it's a it's a just
like when we put on the World Cup here in
a couple of years.
Speaker 2 (34:50):
I think it's a it's a it's.
Speaker 4 (34:52):
An opportunity for our country to kind of showcase our
I think the I think the reason they did it
is because of the the anniversary of the two hundred
and fifty year anniversary of our country will be in
twenty twenty six.
Speaker 2 (35:06):
I think that's why they did it. And they're gonna
be blowing it out.
Speaker 4 (35:08):
Twenty twenty eight, though twenty well, well, seventeen seventy six
was when we were founded, so it would be oh yeah,
twenty twenty eight, right, But a couple of years after that,
I think just the ongoing celebrations would be kind of
carrying on, just in America, the beautiful and everything.
Speaker 2 (35:22):
I disagree.
Speaker 4 (35:23):
I think it's fantastic that it's here, so offering a
little bit of a contrarian view there because I really
want to go, Max, Like, don't you want to go
and sit in the stands of Yeah, for sure, But
I would also.
Speaker 1 (35:33):
Love to make a whole trip out of it, like
I would love to go to another country. I do
it just it's gonna be awesome no matter what. Like
I'm I'm Olympics guy from here on out. I'm all
in on the Olympics. Yeah, right, of course, But it's
for Olympics even But that's fair. But it doesn't feel
the same when it's just right there, you know, I
guess it just doesn't. It doesn't feel the same, but
it's still gonna it's still gonna be awesome. And I mean, yeah,
(35:55):
I'm sad that break dancing won't be back twenty twenty eight.
It's not guaranteed to ever come back. This could be
the only time that we ever see it. But man,
I thought I just thought it was super cool. I
don't know if you guys got a chance to watch
any of it at all, but I was locked it great.
Speaker 4 (36:08):
I watched it for about fifteen to twenty minutes, and yeah,
I thought it was I thought it was fantastic.
Speaker 2 (36:15):
Just the way that they just gyrate and move on.
Just artistry. Imagine.
Speaker 4 (36:19):
Yeah, it's it's aching to the floor exercise in gymnastics
to an extent a little bit too.
Speaker 2 (36:26):
There's the rhythmic gymnastics. I was watching it.
Speaker 1 (36:28):
Yeah, yeah, I see people and you know, it's fair
enough for whatever, But I see people being like, should
this really be an Olympic sport?
Speaker 2 (36:34):
It's like, well, you could ask that about a lot
of things.
Speaker 1 (36:36):
Should horses jumping over the recreations of the Eiffel Tower
an Olympic sport?
Speaker 2 (36:42):
Yeah? I mean fencing was pretty sweet, but I'm just saying,
it's like, you don't break about that in our day
to day lives. It's like fencing here it is, water
polo here it is. And I just happened to think
it's really cool. Today is what most people.
Speaker 1 (36:55):
Believe to be the fifty one year anniversary of hip hop,
like the day that hip pop was created. Essentially, Yeah,
and now a thing that a lot of people thought
was just gonna be a fad was just good. It
was good, it was gonna come and go. It's not
gonna last. And now hip hop has been, I mean,
the most popular, if not one of the most popular
genres in the country for almost a quarter of a
(37:16):
century now, and it's represented at the Olympics.
Speaker 2 (37:20):
That's so cool. I think.
Speaker 1 (37:21):
I love that they paid a bunch of homage to
break dancing's origins as being a part of hip hop,
being one of the four pillars of hip hop, And
they had all the old school songs playing throughout the
whole time when people were breakdancing.
Speaker 2 (37:33):
Snoop Dog was.
Speaker 1 (37:34):
There and even do a little popping and locking to get.
Speaker 2 (37:37):
The whole break dancing things started. It was just it
was so much freaking fun.
Speaker 1 (37:41):
And I love how personal it was getting too, Like
these guys are getting in each other's faces, these guys
battle each other all.
Speaker 2 (37:46):
The time, they know each other. How how cool. I
don't know if you saw it.
Speaker 1 (37:48):
In the men's final, this one guy was he was
in the middle of his set and the guy predicted
his finishing move and did his finishing move as he
was doing his move.
Speaker 2 (38:00):
Like how cool is in another sport?
Speaker 6 (38:03):
You know?
Speaker 1 (38:03):
Like how disrespectful is that? Like if you're the judges,
you're just like, oh, okay, because yeah, like my only
grape with is that America. We're the birthplace of hip
hop with a birthplace of break dance, and we need
to step it up.
Speaker 2 (38:15):
The American break dancers were very unimpressed.
Speaker 1 (38:18):
Shout out of Victor, the guy that got the bronze,
but the American dancers was like, come on, we need
we need to step it up a little bit. Because
japan Wow, they cried like yeah, the I think her
name is Amy. She won for the women and the
guy that should have won for the men was Japanese
but he kind of got robbed a little bit. But
the Canadian guy he was, I mean.
Speaker 2 (38:39):
Guy was better than the than the Canadian guy. I
did too, but that was that was like, man, that
was a super Bowl. How exciting was that? Dude? I
loved it? Those are you know too?
Speaker 4 (38:49):
Those are the two best people at break dancing in
the entire planet. Yeah, and we're sitting there watching them
on like just it's it's marvelous to see kind of
just the different talents. And Haley, you had mentioned what's
something that you would gold medal in? I mean, imagine
those guys waking up at you know, ten, twelve, fourteen
(39:10):
years old and thinking to themselves, you know what, I'm
gonna gold medal in break dancing.
Speaker 7 (39:14):
Yeah, that's that's a really good point.
Speaker 5 (39:17):
Gymnasts and stuff, that's their whole goal. When you start
taking gymnastics lessons, you're like, I want to go to
you're represented and you can see that and have something
to stry for. These breakdancers had nothing to go off of.
They are the people that people will look up to,
which is incredible.
Speaker 2 (39:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (39:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (39:33):
The track and field guys clearly they trained their whole
lives to run a split second. I mean we had
seen the finish to the race last week between the
Jamaican man Thompson and Lyles and basically his chest was
out right. That's why they wanted to man, that was fantastic.
So just that's what these Olympics are about.
Speaker 2 (39:50):
Max.
Speaker 4 (39:51):
I mean, you put it on the head. I mean
you said, it's encompassed your life for the last two week.
It's about moments and every single day, whatever sport it is,
there's always something to catch onto, whether it be break dancing,
whether it be the water polo, whether it be something controversial,
whether it be something funny like the pole vaulter that
we pointed out.
Speaker 2 (40:08):
It's just been.
Speaker 4 (40:11):
Clearly it's been a fun couple of weeks distraction before
we dive right back into football and I can't wait
for the next one.
Speaker 2 (40:19):
Yeah, it just felt grand again. It felt big.
Speaker 1 (40:23):
Like shout out to Paris for just making it feel
giving it that Olympic feel once again. I know Olympic
the COVID kind of ruined the last time around, but Paris,
the home city, they just made it feel awesome. The
NBC coverage was freaking phenomenal as well. Like seriously, Mike
trinco was incredible. Yeah, the gold zone or whatever, it
(40:43):
was basically red zone style. It just they made from
the coverage to the presentation to the athletes, Like you said,
there's a moment every single day. It just felt big again,
and it just it was It was so incredible. This
this is an Olympics that none of us will have.
Speaker 4 (40:57):
And what makes the coverage great is that on every sport,
you know, you don't get some random person as a
color commentator, like you have somebody who's done it, like
Rowdy Gaines who was a swimmer forever and he's the
guy on the on the swimming, or or you'll have
people on each sport who are experts. I mean during
the break dancing, as one of the commentators was a breakdancer, so.
Speaker 1 (41:18):
It's couldn't remove himself on some guys, he's like, yeah,
I need to be a little bit more original. You know,
I have beat him in a battle before.
Speaker 2 (41:26):
I'm like, yeah, we're happy.
Speaker 4 (41:29):
No, I like that realism, Like I don't want somebody
who's like a button up, you know, somebody like that.
And then obviously on the basketball, which we'll get to,
but I mean, Noah Eagle did a fantastic job with
the with the call there and uh, and we'll get
into them winning the gold medal, but just again moments,
day by day and just having those experts, I mean
Dwayne Wade obviously in the basketball, but uh, for.
Speaker 2 (41:48):
The for the smaller sports, it really helps.
Speaker 4 (41:50):
Uh, the kind of the layman in either Olympics, just
having somebody on it, whether it be curling or whether it.
Speaker 5 (41:58):
Well, it's kind of exciting to have someone who who
is a rube about the sport and care so much.
And I know I keep going back to gymnastics, but
Laurie Hernandez, who was on the twenty sixteen Olympic team,
she was incredible and you could hear in her voice
how excited she was watching, and she explained things in
ways that you under you know, the normal person would understand.
(42:19):
She was incredible. John Roethlisberg Berger, who's Barrero's had on,
He was fantastic. I just I love people who get
excited about those things, and that was that was incredible.
Speaker 1 (42:30):
No, just seriously, just all around, just like applause for
NBC's coverage, applause for Paris, for understanding the assignment, everything,
it just felt like a musty spectacle again. And I
mean we obviously we can't stop talking about it. We
didn't get the team USA, yet we got to talk
about them around the corner. More Olympics coverage on Worst
(42:52):
Case Scenario on a Sunday Welcome Back w c S
(43:16):
Worst Case Scenario on k F a n I'm in
the house. Brett break More is in the house, Hailey
Dizzles in the house, Robzles in the house. I've seen
a lot of Snoop doggs, so I've been talking. I'm
talking Tozzles. Do you guys did you guys ever have gizzy?
(43:37):
Did you guys ever go on Gizogle? Like when Snoop
first started talking like that, they made a gizzgle and
it would snoopify all of your Google searches. Its like
spinning is that spinning rams as the os was gizz everything.
Speaker 2 (43:52):
It would change any story.
Speaker 1 (43:53):
It could be the most depressing story on CNN dot
com and it would bezzle, It'd be snoopified.
Speaker 4 (43:59):
It was.
Speaker 1 (43:59):
It was a amazing. I've been loving seeing Snoop everywhere
at these Olympics.
Speaker 5 (44:02):
Man, yeah, didn't lessen it a little bit for you
when you found out how much he was getting paid
to be there.
Speaker 6 (44:08):
I was like, dang, yeah, because I thought he was
just kind of there for the love, you know, Like
I mean, I'm happy, I'm happy that he's raking in
all the dough, but totally, I just thought he was
so proud to be an American.
Speaker 5 (44:21):
Altogether, and then I found out he's making half a
million dollars a day. But I was like, I wish
someone would pay me that the.
Speaker 1 (44:29):
Olympics, and what is more American than being paid to
be patriotic?
Speaker 2 (44:38):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (44:38):
He was.
Speaker 2 (44:39):
He was awesome man.
Speaker 1 (44:40):
Like I said, seem at the at the Breakdowns dancing
thing yesterday, it just it just seemed right, and we
were going to talk Olympic basketball. I just have to
say because I forgot to mention her in the first segment, Nica,
the Olympic lady from Lithuania.
Speaker 2 (44:52):
She came out in a do rag, which is that
prown It helps the headspin. But she came out in
a new rag and her name is m I c
k A.
Speaker 5 (45:05):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (45:06):
So if I do not envy, I do not envy
those announcers.
Speaker 1 (45:11):
I would have I would have had to get a
pronunciation guide immediately. If I was them and me personally,
I would not have been able to be trusted with
that name.
Speaker 2 (45:18):
They would have had to take me off. They would
have had to take me off.
Speaker 5 (45:21):
There, we're just gonna do ourselves.
Speaker 2 (45:25):
Mute your microphone.
Speaker 1 (45:27):
You cannot say look at that Nika, go please don't
say that.
Speaker 2 (45:33):
But she was awesome. Man.
Speaker 1 (45:34):
They said she was the word world champ from Lithuania.
She she showed out. It's just cool to see hip
hop culture all around the world and then represented and
and you know.
Speaker 2 (45:43):
He's no B boy.
Speaker 1 (45:44):
But Steph Curry he had he had defenders, dance and all.
Speaker 2 (45:49):
Oh, I mean what all weekend?
Speaker 5 (45:51):
Really it started Thursday.
Speaker 2 (45:54):
Pretty I wouldn't I won't say, m I A.
Speaker 1 (45:56):
But he was not Steph Curry like throughout the first
handful of game at the Olympics.
Speaker 5 (46:00):
Well, did you see what Ant said? He's like, my
guy finally showed up.
Speaker 2 (46:04):
He just right.
Speaker 1 (46:06):
Right, Which leave it to Ant to just be honest, right,
even with the greatest shooter of all.
Speaker 2 (46:10):
Times, I'm just gonna say he's the greatest shooter of
all times.
Speaker 4 (46:13):
So it's just so just like a faucet, Max, he
could turn it on and off at a whim's notice
and he got red hot.
Speaker 1 (46:18):
Yeah. And if and if there was ever still a
debate about that, the debate is dead.
Speaker 2 (46:24):
It's dead in the water.
Speaker 1 (46:26):
Years ago, Steph Kurrat he scored sixty points in the
between the semi finals and the final game. He had
like something like seventeen to three pointers. It was just
under no matter me and Haley we were talking about
off there, no matter how many Steph has had a
long and illustrious career now, but no matter how many
times you see him do it, it's still surreal that
someone can shoot a basketball that well over you know,
(46:48):
he shot over two people, one of them being Victor
wem Minyama, who's seven foot four, and just drain's threes.
It's amazing that he can still get as open as
he does after all this time. It's just it's one
thing I'll never get tired of watching. And it was
just the perfect kind of closing chapter to this whole
era of basketball because the United States they still need it.
Speaker 2 (47:09):
A lot of people.
Speaker 1 (47:09):
Questioned did Lebron kd being the Steph Curry because they're
kind of a little bit older. They needed every point
from all three of those guys, and it was just
the perfect way. I mean, even in that semi final game,
how cool is that in the last couple of minutes,
Lebron James gets a breakaway dunk, Steph Curry hits a
ridiculous three, and Kevin Durant it's a smooth mid ranger.
(47:30):
I mean, that's literally all of their signature moves, all
at once, all to win the game for the United
States against Serbia, which was a lot closer than a
lot of people thought.
Speaker 2 (47:38):
And same with the France game too. It was just incredible.
Speaker 5 (47:41):
So I didn't get to watch that semifinal game. I
was keeping an eye on the score, but I was working,
so I couldn't pay attention to it. And I see
they're down in half, and then I find out that
they actually won. So I watched the second half of
that game and the entire time, even though I knew
the outcome, I'm like, when are you guys going to.
Speaker 2 (48:01):
That's happening.
Speaker 7 (48:02):
I'm like, we're really I don't know if we're doing this.
I'm like, did I read the box score wrong? Like
something is wrong here? And then when Steph went off
at the end of that game, and then watching Katie
and Lebron too, You're like, Okay, this is this is
what basketball is supposed to be for sure.
Speaker 4 (48:15):
And remember this is his first goal. You know, Durant's
got four goals, so this, you know, thirty and could
miss his chance to blow clearly and with four point
with four to three pointers in the last few minutes.
I mean, just that sequence of play was just fantastic
to watch. I mean, I think Lebron was a worthy
MVP of the tournament. I know him, I knew him,
I know Embiid. Late in games, you give the ball
(48:38):
to Lebron, he's either gonna get fouled, get to the bucket,
or both. And I thought he and embiid bead, especially
in the semi final late in the game, really affected
things on both ends of the floor. You saw m
knocked the ball out of bounce late late in that
game against Serbia, and I thought, to a lesser extent
he had he had an impact in this final. But
I thought, like you said, Curry stole the show and
he's one of the greatest ever.
Speaker 1 (48:59):
And Embiid just one of the great personalities in the NBA.
Getting just showered with booze on the metal stand and
the whole US team starts pulling a heel move like
their ww wrestlers and starts telling the crowd, bring it on,
bring it on.
Speaker 2 (49:12):
He did a whole crotch chop and everything.
Speaker 1 (49:14):
Joel Embiid Man, you don't always have to love his
style of play, but yeah, he did make an impact.
He earned his place there, our guy Anthony Edwards. I mean,
he didn't know. He wasn't the most impactful offensively, but
he got a steal here and there. He's just so
happy to be there. Man.
Speaker 2 (49:27):
How cool is yeah?
Speaker 1 (49:28):
And then exactly, no, I'm not I'm not following criticized,
and he knows four years from now he really is
going to be the number one option. He said that
before this one, but he really is going to be.
He's going to be the face of Olympic basketball. And
how cool. I mean in the semi I think it
was a semi final game, maybe it was the final game,
he got an It was him and Kevin Durant on
a fast break and KD.
Speaker 2 (49:48):
Throws the alley. How cool is that to get an.
Speaker 1 (49:50):
Alley loop for the gold medal from your childhood hero.
Speaker 5 (49:54):
Man, That's that's movie stuff, literally. So, but what I
loved about Ant throughout all of the Olympics, it felt
like he really immersed himself in everything Olympics.
Speaker 2 (50:05):
Not just basketball.
Speaker 5 (50:06):
Obviously, the table, Yeah, he was having fun. And then
at the end of the semi final game, they you know,
they were Lebron was kind of talking to the team
after they did pull off the wind finally, and I
could see how Ant was watching Lebron and he was
taking that in and he was like, hopefully he takes
that and moves that forward and brings it to the Wolves.
(50:28):
But he wasn't just there to be there. He was
learning and being a part of it and watching him
on the getting the gold medal in between sandwich, in
between Steph Curry and Lebron, Katie's next Lebron.
Speaker 1 (50:41):
I mean, it was.
Speaker 5 (50:42):
Very cool to It's Mount Rushmore to me, right, I'm
putting Ant on there right now.
Speaker 2 (50:48):
But that was awesome.
Speaker 5 (50:50):
I loved it so much.
Speaker 1 (50:51):
No, it wasn't great. It really did seem like he
was just soaking. Every time the reporters talked to him.
He's just he's talking about Lebron, or he's talking about
Steph Curry's talking about Kevin Durant. It seemed like he
learned so much, like you said, yeah, just immersed himself
in there. And I also just thought like there was
all this controversy around Jason Tatum and Celtics fans are
not happy.
Speaker 2 (51:08):
I saw they the one media guy.
Speaker 1 (51:11):
So he's not even rooting for the United States anymore
because of Jason Tatum's, which is so stupid. But notice
Timberwolves fans Anthony Edwards didn't always get a boatload of minutes.
We weren't tripping about it. Anthony Edwards wasn't tripping about it.
There was no controversy around him or even Tyrese Haliburtn
how about that.
Speaker 2 (51:30):
Had been roasting him for two weeks straight.
Speaker 1 (51:31):
But he posts on Twitter a picture of his gold
medal and says, when you do nothing on the group
project and.
Speaker 2 (51:36):
Still getting he can laugh at himself.
Speaker 1 (51:38):
But that Jason Tatum, that whole thing was just so
overblown and it was so whacked. So it was just
cool to see guys like Tyree's, guys like Anthony Edwards,
who know they're gonna be there again, just soak it
all up and get to enjoy that historic moment with
three of the all time greats who get to close
out their chapter on their Olympic career, and for Steph
Curry specifically, probably honestly for all three of them, it
could be the last meaningful game of basketball that they
(52:00):
ever play in the sense that it's for something like
the Warriors aren't making the NBA Finals again, the Lakers
are probably not going to make the NBA Finals, and
neither are the Phoenix Suns.
Speaker 5 (52:10):
And Steph referenced that yesterday in his postgame interview, asking
how much this meant to him, and he goes, we
didn't make the playoffs this year. I had five weeks
to think about basketball and everything. And he's like, I
could be prepared because I didn't make the playoffs. You
can tell how much that still bothered him. Yeah, even
with all the championships that he has, like, this was
very meaningful and this meant a lot to him. The
(52:32):
only thing I have to say about the Olympics. So
after that Serbia game, KD going on a run on Twitter,
run everybody down. Oh my god. I was laughing to
myself so hard Friday morning at what a hater he was.
And he he did not log off, he would not
put his phone down.
Speaker 2 (52:53):
On the podium.
Speaker 1 (52:56):
I mean, I just love that He's an all I mean,
unquestionably in all time great and he gives us unfiltered
access to his dog.
Speaker 2 (53:04):
I don't think there's an equivalent to in any.
Speaker 1 (53:06):
Other sport of an athlete that gives us this much,
that is that good and that great.
Speaker 4 (53:11):
Historically, I think I had asked you before about your
kind of chameleon opinion of Durant, where at the beginning
you were like, holy smokes, I'm like all in on
this guy, and then you kind of backed away because
of someone. Yeah, I think I think you and you
told me that that your opinion on Durant because of
just just the way he acts on social media sometimes
just kind of is is a bit polarizing. I thought
(53:32):
that you had said that to me, but play on
the court. I'm just saying just that some of his nonsense,
you know, away from the court.
Speaker 1 (53:40):
No, the Twitter stuff is funny, even if he's sensitive,
and so the Twitter stuff is funny. I hated him
because he ruined basketball for four years by Warriors, but
I don't, you know, I like Kd's play and I
think I just think it's hilarious that he's still no
matter how great he is, he's still online.
Speaker 5 (53:55):
As an aside, I have a recommendation for you guys
involving Kevin Durant if you haven't watched David Letterman's My
Next Guest Needs No inter Introduction on Netflix with Kevin
Durant came out a couple of years ago. It's incredible.
He is such an interesting guy and you will love
it if you I mean, if you like basketball, if
you like Kevin Durant, you have to watch that because
(54:16):
I just kind of fell in love with him after
watching that a while ago. Such like that out It's
really good, Yeah, Netflix for sure.
Speaker 2 (54:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (54:22):
And on the women's side of the Olympics, Olympic basketball
gold medal was France versus the USA again, and I
did not get a chance to see it. This morning
I was getting ready for the show. I was I
was biking to work and I kind of just figured, well,
you know, the United State now they won obviously spoiler alert,
they won eight gold medals in the in a row
for the United States women just sustained excellency. I don't
(54:43):
think they've ever not gotten gold at the Olympics as
far as I know. It's just just incredible. But I
just kind of thought it was going to be a runaway.
But Brett Blakemore was telling me when I got to
the studio that it was a hell of a game.
Speaker 3 (54:53):
I guys, yeah, it was a hell of a game.
It was unbelievable. It it They were down for a
little bit where it was pretty scary, and maybe the
third quarter.
Speaker 2 (55:03):
The fourth was just back and forth.
Speaker 3 (55:05):
I mean there was a time where France went on
like an eight point run or a ten ozer run,
and we were like, uh oh, like the wheels are
coming off.
Speaker 2 (55:13):
Here we go.
Speaker 3 (55:14):
The US answered back with like another eight point run
of their own. So now they just went back and
forth the entire fourth quarter. Only like two three pointers
for the US entire game.
Speaker 2 (55:23):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (55:23):
Yeah, they just they just decided we're good school.
Speaker 2 (55:27):
Yeah exactly I wanted. Yeah. They were two for twelve
from beyond the arc. Not good.
Speaker 3 (55:34):
Yeah, the shooting was just not there for them, But
France did kind of blowed at the end. There was
a couple missed opportunities for them. But yeah, it was
a knockdown, drag out game and it was very entertaining.
Speaker 4 (55:44):
Sixty seven sixty six was the final score. The Americans
had a three point lead as the French brought the
ball back down the court down three, and they chucked
up a three and it went in, but apparently the
French girl's foot was on the line so it only
counted as two, so the Americans hold on for a
one point victory.
Speaker 1 (56:01):
Gold medals on both sides, and I mean, just how
disastrous a because of the sustained excellency of the US
women's basketball team and because of all the controversy controversy
around the roster of this US women's ball Can you.
Speaker 2 (56:14):
If they would have lost? Oh, Cheryl Reeve, I.
Speaker 5 (56:19):
Am I have. I've gone to links games and watch
how invested Cheryl Reeve is and I don't ever want
to be on her bad side. I cannot imagine being
on the team that did not bring home a gold
medal that she was coaching. I think if they had
gotten silver, I don't think she would have like accepted it.
(56:39):
I think she would have been furious. No one loves
basketball more than Cheryl Reeves. Like she is a machine
and she I cannot imagine if that they didn't.
Speaker 2 (56:48):
Pull that off.
Speaker 4 (56:49):
She reminds me of the coach in Mighty Ducks two
of Iceland, very very militaristic.
Speaker 5 (56:54):
Ice interveins. I mean, she is so impressive, and if
she had been the coach that didn't bring home I
think it would have killed her.
Speaker 2 (57:02):
Yeah. Sure, No, the good thing.
Speaker 1 (57:05):
Will never know because the US women and the US
men both take home gold. And I believe that the
US is this is the Olympics over now?
Speaker 2 (57:15):
Was that the last thing? Or is this track that's
on TV right now?
Speaker 1 (57:17):
This lot?
Speaker 4 (57:18):
I think the closing ceremonies are going on in a
couple hours from now.
Speaker 2 (57:21):
I believe they deleted a bit because somebody was caught.
Speaker 1 (57:24):
The game's done, I believe all, Okay, well believe yeah.
Then the US, I believe they tied with China for
the gold medal count was forty each, so we needed
those last two medals and the third place is Japan
with twenty. So that just shows you how, yeah, how
dominant the US is, how dominant China. Has just been
just so much fun and a lot of people wanted
(57:45):
the last thing on this Olympic basketball team, the men's side.
A lot of people, oh, they're not the dream team,
and we say that every single Olympic cycle and it
gets sold. No, they're not the dream team. But also,
guess what, the dream team didn't have to play Nikola Jokic's.
They didn't have to play Victor Webbin Yama's. And I'd
rather have this imperfect team that shows that the game
is growing globally. I'd rather have these meaningful games be
(58:07):
close than just have ass whoopins for two weeks straight.
You know, like that nobody's ever gonna be the dream
team again. But I mean, Victor Weinbinyama would have just
dunked on Christian.
Speaker 2 (58:18):
Are you kidding?
Speaker 7 (58:19):
Like?
Speaker 2 (58:19):
Are you kidding? Like a lot of people.
Speaker 1 (58:22):
Of course, nobody's ever gonna be the dream team again,
but this team's more interesting, and these teams going forward
will be more interesting because I the world is catching
up and eventually we're not gonna have Lebron James, We're
not gonna have Steph Corey, We're not gonna have Kevin Durant.
So the world is catching up, so it's only gonna
be more interesting. I just loved seeing the drama, the
theater of it all. Seriously, like, hats off to the Olympics
(58:43):
and the men's basketball team and the women's basketball team too.
Apparently i'ma have to go back and watch that later,
just like I watched Vikings Raiders yesterday.
Speaker 2 (58:54):
Football is back.
Speaker 1 (58:56):
The preseason has kicked off, and we're gonna dive into
Vikings Raiders. JJ McCarthy, Sam Darnold, Dallas Turner.
Speaker 2 (59:03):
And everybody else.
Speaker 1 (59:05):
Second hour worst case scenario coming at you right after this,
(59:32):
the worst case scenario is back with you on a Sunday.
Speaker 2 (59:35):
My name is Max Fuller. I'm back.
Speaker 1 (59:37):
That's Robbie Robson House over there, he's back. There's Brett
Blake Moore he's back as well. And right there as
Haley Darling. She's back and better than ever. You guys
know what else is back?
Speaker 2 (59:49):
What's that? Football? Not just any football? Vikings. Football is back.
Speaker 1 (01:00:01):
Yes, I know it's the preseason, but how good does
it feel to just have football back?
Speaker 2 (01:00:09):
It feels great.
Speaker 4 (01:00:10):
It's my favorite sport, it's my favorite team, it's my
favorite thing to pay attention to. And I know the
NFL goes on three hundred and sixty five days a year,
but especially this year, when you draft a quarterback, right,
you have that guy who you can build around, and
then you go out there and we'll get into the
game and you see him do what he did yesterday,
(01:00:31):
and you see him do and flashes what he did
in camp, and it just makes you more excited for football.
Speaker 2 (01:00:37):
Yes, I'm so pummed up about it.
Speaker 1 (01:00:39):
And like you said, obviously it's his the preseason, but
this year I found yesterday's game to be really intriguing.
Just because of all the change and all the turnover
over the last several months.
Speaker 2 (01:00:50):
With this Vikings team.
Speaker 1 (01:00:51):
We got not one but two brand new quarterbacks. We
got new a bunch of new guys on the defense.
I found yesterday's game to be an incredibly fascinating andariety
of different ways. The Vikings beat the Raiders twenty four
to twenty three. But I think that's Koc's first preseason yes.
Speaker 2 (01:01:09):
In a row or it's crazy.
Speaker 1 (01:01:11):
They're like the reverse Ravens because they've won like what
like yes, some twenty in a row or something and something.
Speaker 2 (01:01:15):
For Ko Ko.
Speaker 1 (01:01:20):
So we're happy for Koc, but nobody cares about the
score of the game. We care about what we saw
on the field. And there's a bunch of different places
to start, but why not start with the main event?
The two quarterbacks. Sam Donald was out there for a series.
I mean I was gonna say a series or two,
but just one series I believe it was. He was
four for eight for fifty nine yards, and the star
of the show was JJ McCarthy one hundred and eighty
(01:01:41):
eight yards a pair of tds. Yes, he had an interception,
but it's his first time, you know, playing for the pros.
So just in general, I was super impressed with both
Sam Donald and especially JJ McCarthy. I just, I just
I think the Vikings have a good problem on their hands.
I think they got two pretty good quarterbacks and it
was cool to see one thing I noticed on the
offensively between both of them, it seems like they're opening
(01:02:01):
up that deep pass game once again that just wasn't
always there with Kirk Cousins at the helm.
Speaker 4 (01:02:06):
Early on in the game, Sam Darnold really performed well.
JJ obviously later in the game threw the pick, but
then came back to throw those two touchdowns. Early in
the game, Sam had a couple of really good throws.
The fifteen yard out was against Cover two and then
that dig over the middle was a really nice zone
beater and a good ball by Sam over the middle
linebackers outstretched hand. I thought he did a great job there,
(01:02:26):
some throws to the sidelines. They didn't score, they went
first on fourth down to end that first drive, but
I thought he looked really good and in command of
the offense without his top two weapons out there, with
TJ being hurt and obviously Justin Jefferson not playing, and
then JJ comes in and will break him down a
little more.
Speaker 2 (01:02:43):
But I give him an a grade for what he
did yesterday.
Speaker 4 (01:02:47):
Yes, he made a mistake, but he came right back
and he led them on two scoring drives and he
ended up going eleven of seventeen for one eight eight.
And that beautiful deep ball to Jackson for that forty
five yard touchdown really really got me excited. And that
did come after the Raiders starters had taken a seat.
But it doesn't matter. He's not going to be thrown
into the mix right now. It's important for him to
(01:03:08):
get these reps and that's exactly what he did yesterday.
Speaker 1 (01:03:10):
And how cool was it having Justin Jefferson join PA
throughout the entire third quarter. And not just that because
it's awesome to hear from Justin, but as soon as
he got on the mic, the game completely turned around.
Speaker 2 (01:03:23):
JJ McCarthy started bawling out the Vike has made a
full on comeback.
Speaker 1 (01:03:26):
As soon as JJ got on the mic, it was
so cool to hear him hype for his teammates. I
mean literally, you can't write something better than Justin Jefferson
being miked up for JJ McCarthy's.
Speaker 3 (01:03:36):
First by the way, I do have news if you
miss that third quarter, we're gonna be playing it in
its entirety right after.
Speaker 2 (01:03:44):
Worst case scenario, is right cool for you listeners out there.
Speaker 1 (01:03:50):
That's it's It was so much fun to listen to
and Pa during the prese He's got to sign it,
so he's on the TV. It's on the radio, but
of course you got to tune in on the radio
on the free I Heart radio app.
Speaker 2 (01:04:00):
But it's it was. It was just so much fun.
Speaker 1 (01:04:01):
And just seeing how ampt Justin is for his teammates
and talking through just the different schemes and everything like that.
It was.
Speaker 2 (01:04:09):
It was so insightful, and I hope.
Speaker 1 (01:04:10):
Justin seemed like it was even cooler because he really
liked doing it. He wasn't like someone was like holding
his arm and forcing him to do like. He really
enjoyed doing it. He's even saying, you wanted to come
back and do it again. I mean, how awesome would that.
I don't know how that would work in the regular season,
but how awesome would that be if we could somehow
get Justin Jefferson on the mic again during a regular
season game. It was just it was just so much
(01:04:30):
freaking fun and then just seeing yeah just I mean
JJ McCarthy. The whole game turned around as soon as
JJ was on the mic, the other JJ jets Jets Yes,
and I'm still getting used to that.
Speaker 2 (01:04:39):
Y Yeah, yeah, we're live. We're a love. We're all
getting used to that. But Max, I have to disagree
with you.
Speaker 4 (01:04:43):
I actually hope he is not on the headset during
a game because we actually.
Speaker 2 (01:04:47):
You need him out there.
Speaker 4 (01:04:52):
Something or maybe if it's a blowout in their fashion,
and perhaps in the fourth quarter we can get some
shades on him and and perhaps mike him up. But no,
I I thought I thought the uh, the input by
Jefferson during the bro In fact, he called basically, if
you go and we're gonna hear it back here, folks,
you'll hear him kind of predict the second touchdown UH
(01:05:15):
in real time to PA and Pete on the call,
and it was it seemed like that not only he
was having fun, but p A and UH and Pete
were having fun as well, and the fans I was
there last night, they were having a blast also, So
watching their rookie quarterback and Dallas Turner, which we'll get
to and sack he looked fantastic.
Speaker 2 (01:05:33):
A couple get to it right now.
Speaker 1 (01:05:36):
Yeah, we can absolutely have rookie edge rusher Dallas Turner.
Speaker 2 (01:05:39):
Yeah, I mean he almost just barely missed him.
Speaker 1 (01:05:44):
I think it was was that miscon I'm not sure
who was, but O'Connell started the.
Speaker 2 (01:05:49):
Game, and yes, for sure, so I think it was.
I think it was Minshew.
Speaker 1 (01:05:52):
He just almost missed Minshew and then a couple of
plays later gets to him, forces the Raiders to kick
a field goal in the red zone. And just to
in general listening to people that know way more about
football than I'll ever know, and just from the eye test,
Dallas Turner looks like he's gonna be a probably their
opposing offensive line.
Speaker 4 (01:06:11):
And there's a reason why in Vegas he is the
favorite right now to win the defensive Rookie of the Year.
The way that Brydy Flores, yes, is going to deploy him,
and the fact that he's going to be starting from
day one.
Speaker 2 (01:06:22):
He saw him get some reps last night.
Speaker 4 (01:06:24):
He was beating Colton Miller, who's another first round pick,
like a rented mule. He got a couple of times close,
but like you said, and he.
Speaker 1 (01:06:30):
Was beating guy as Pete said on the broadcast, he's
being guys that are veterans, like not necessarily like brand
new guy, not some third string guy, because let's.
Speaker 2 (01:06:38):
Not forget that this round.
Speaker 1 (01:06:39):
Yeah, the Raiders had their starters out there correct, like
the first.
Speaker 5 (01:06:42):
Half, right, I didn't want to watch any of it,
but yeah, that's pretty impressive.
Speaker 2 (01:06:46):
And that's what I call a four point play.
Speaker 4 (01:06:48):
I mean, that's what Jared Allen used to do on
third downs, That's what Everson Griffin used to do on
third downs, and that's what hopefully Dallas Turner's going to
be able to do on third downs is to rush
the passer.
Speaker 2 (01:06:58):
His first step is so unbelievably quick.
Speaker 4 (01:07:01):
That duck and undermove that he had to get by
Miller to get that sack was something that you just
can't teach. And with his athleticism, he's going to be
a big, big part of this defense from day one,
which is what I've asked for from this staff is
to get players in he who can play from day one.
The last couple of drafts haven't provided that too much
on defense, aside from a guy like cam Binha who
(01:07:22):
came in and did well. Makai Blackman we hope he
gets healthy for next year. But again, Turner's gonna step
in day one and have a big impact.
Speaker 1 (01:07:29):
Next Yeah, and you mentioned speed, Robbie. How about the
guy whose nickname is speedy yeh?
Speaker 2 (01:07:35):
Jayalen Naylor.
Speaker 1 (01:07:36):
Yes, he seems to be, I mean running away with
the wide receiver three spot.
Speaker 2 (01:07:41):
He had an incredible game yesterday.
Speaker 1 (01:07:43):
He had three receptions for sixty three yards and I
would say he would be running away with it if
not for Tristan Jackson who had four receptions for one
hundred yards. And just it seems like the Vikings, I
mean Justin Jefferson said it on the call with PA
they have one of the best wide receiver rooms in
the NFL. And that was one of the storylines that
we were kind of all, you know, peeped in and
locked in on going into training campus.
Speaker 2 (01:08:05):
Who's going to take that wide receiver three spot?
Speaker 1 (01:08:07):
And Jalen Naylor got the start yesterday a receiver because
obviously Justin Jefferson's not playing, And but we don't know
about the Jordan Madison bit how long he's going to
be out, when he's going to be out, And I've
heard talk of Jalen Naylor possibly playing and spending some
time at tight end, but I think he showed himself
yesterday he definitely has earned the right to, at least
for right now, be penciled into wide receiver three. Well.
Speaker 4 (01:08:29):
It certainly is a big change from last year when
they had kJ Osborne and Brandon Powell, who's still on
the team, But those guys are quite limited in what
they can do. When you look at Speedy Naylor and
what he has kind of showed in camp and then
showed out yesterday in the game, he's he's clearly going
to be on the roster. This is this is a
(01:08:50):
kid who played in the Big Ten, who has not
stayed healthy over his first couple of years. Was a
practice squad guy, but the staff always believed in him
because of his pure physical traits. And now he's getting
a chain to strut his stuff and show what he
can do. And in this offense, I think that there
is definitely room for a guy like him, somebody to
take the top off the defense and somebody that can
(01:09:10):
contribute right away. And right now he's healthy and he's
balling out, and I think obviously he's going to make
the team, and he's going to have a big impact,
hopefully from day one.
Speaker 1 (01:09:19):
Yeah, especially with obviously the defensive focus is going to
be all on Justin Jefferson and the secondary focus is
going to be on Jordan Adison.
Speaker 2 (01:09:26):
Naylor has a chance to.
Speaker 1 (01:09:27):
Really have a big time year and a lot of
production for this Vikings offense. I'm super excited for him, man,
I'm super excited for you. It's right around the corner.
Next Saturday, around three twenty five pm is the kickoff
Vikings at Cleveland and joint practices throughout this week, I
believe as well, right Robbie.
Speaker 4 (01:09:45):
Yep, they'll be in Cleveland on Wednesday and Thursday and
then have an off day Friday, and then they'll be
playing in Cleveland on Saturday. We're hoping to have somebody
join us from the Vikings on next on next week's
edition of Worst Case Scenario. Working on some details on that.
We'll have some details later in the week. But again,
some guys making some splash plays on defense. You had
(01:10:08):
the linebacker Porter and then bo Richter, an undrafted free
agent from Air Force who was making his pro debut.
He had two sacks and six tackles from the DN position.
And he's a guy to keep an eye on here.
He ran a four to five forty yard dash and
he's got a forty inch vertical and he's a guy
who's an athletic freak off the end who may be
(01:10:29):
a diamond in the rough will be found from Air
Force and potentially he can make the fifty.
Speaker 1 (01:10:33):
Three excited to see more of this Vikings team once again.
Next Saturday kickoff the boom from PA and PTE will
be right around at three twenty five and following worst
case Scenario immediately you can relive all the glory that
was that third quarter with Justin Jefferson Mike. A couple
more segments of worst case scenario to go for this Sunday,
(01:10:54):
we'll close out the show with the fan favorite segment,
Brent Blake Moore, what do the polls say?
Speaker 2 (01:11:00):
What are we talking about? In the final segment as
of right now.
Speaker 3 (01:11:03):
As of right now, Robbie's gonna get to recount his
travel nightmare story with.
Speaker 2 (01:11:10):
I'm Not that commanding a lead though we still got
ti that. The polls are still open.
Speaker 1 (01:11:15):
You can vote at kfan one zero zero three on
Twitter slash x. Otherwise, we're talking vacation nightmares but around
the corner it's a little bit of a mixed bag
with a new twist. Worst Case Scenario on the Family.
(01:11:37):
Penultimate segment of Worst Case.
Speaker 2 (01:11:40):
Scenario for the week.
Speaker 1 (01:11:43):
But unluckily for you, luckily for us, we will be back,
same time at the same place next week, and then
we'll be out at the State Fair for a couple
of extended shows. If you want to come see Worst
Case Scenario live and in the fleshy the Bald and
the Beautiful Robbie and Brett, they'll be doing a duet
their new band.
Speaker 2 (01:12:02):
Is that true?
Speaker 4 (01:12:06):
Actually, actually we're replacing you with Libra and we're gonna
do blue band group.
Speaker 6 (01:12:10):
Yeah, you talk about upgrade thee.
Speaker 1 (01:12:18):
Want to go to If you want to come see
Wards Case Scenario out at the Fair, we will be
there two with Sundays in a row, three hour extended audition.
But for now we got a couple more segments to go.
We're gonna go with the mixed bag segments. Something has
become a kind of a weekly thing here at Worst
Case Scenario. It started off as more like sports, just
kind of a mixed bag of different sports topics that
(01:12:40):
didn't you know, we didn't have enough time to spend
a whole segment on and then it turned into sports
and non sports. But today, since we're talking so much
sports with the Olympics and football, all the sports stuff
needed its own segments.
Speaker 2 (01:12:51):
So it's gonna be a different I did it.
Speaker 1 (01:12:53):
I need in my bag to be a little bit deeper,
you know, like I want my bag to be like
that that last peppermint at the bottom of your grandma's purse,
you know, like.
Speaker 2 (01:13:01):
Deep deep in the bag. So today is a little
bit different.
Speaker 1 (01:13:05):
We're gonna do nonsports stuff mixed with the little what's
the scenario? You guys, remember when we played what's the
scenario on worst case scenario. I'll give you guys a
little hypothetical scenario, hypothetical situation. Hey, you guys' thoughts on it,
and mix it up with a couple of couple of
news stars.
Speaker 2 (01:13:20):
You guys like that new format? Yay, nay, absolutely, Brett Legmore,
let's do it.
Speaker 3 (01:13:26):
I was scrambling to find out what's the scenario?
Speaker 1 (01:13:32):
Starting off Artificial intelligence AI not Alan iverson. I've never
even thought about this, but apparently it's having some problems
comprehending accents with learning voice language and stuff like that,
and one of the accents that it's having the most
trouble with Minnesota.
Speaker 2 (01:13:51):
We are thirteen sky net.
Speaker 1 (01:13:53):
Yeah take that, finding our robotic overlords one ope at
a time. But Minnesota and the it ranked thirteenth on
the list of accents that AI is struggling to understand,
struggling to compute. Southern all encompassing seems a little kind
of just broad umbrella of Southern was number one, followed
(01:14:16):
by New Yorker and New Jersey, which they made sure
to distinguish.
Speaker 2 (01:14:19):
Those, Otherwise there would have been a civil war on
the East side.
Speaker 1 (01:14:24):
Yeah, southern, just a whole region of country, just all
yet Southern.
Speaker 2 (01:14:28):
But we got it.
Speaker 1 (01:14:29):
We got to distinguish between New York and New Jersey
and Boston.
Speaker 2 (01:14:33):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:14:34):
I can't tell you, folks how upset it makes me
when so sais, oh, yeah, you're from the East Coast.
Speaker 2 (01:14:41):
Where you're from from Boston?
Speaker 4 (01:14:42):
Is that a Boston accenting it?
Speaker 2 (01:14:47):
Do I sound like I have that amount accent?
Speaker 7 (01:14:49):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (01:14:49):
Yes, yes, really at this.
Speaker 5 (01:14:51):
Point you totally have an accent to me. But I
would have never said Boston like I would have said
New York, New Jersey.
Speaker 1 (01:14:59):
That's like confuter blood for a crypt, isn't it. That's
that's gang stuff. Yes, Crypt's very prevalent there. But yeah,
AYI is having a hard time computing Skip. The Minnesotans
are confusing artificial intelligence with our accents.
Speaker 2 (01:15:15):
I think that's something to hang our hats on. Okay, okay,
I like that is that? Is that? Is that something?
Is that another banner we can hang? Yeh hang the matter.
Speaker 4 (01:15:26):
Stopping thirteenth most difficult accent to impersonation.
Speaker 1 (01:15:30):
Yeah, exactly right. Fighting and fighting are robotics overlords.
Speaker 2 (01:15:35):
Scenario number one for.
Speaker 1 (01:15:37):
You guys for today have the mixed bag segment. Would
you take something that removes your body's need for sleep
if it was given to And my answer is.
Speaker 2 (01:15:50):
Yes.
Speaker 6 (01:15:50):
I hate sleeping really really yeah, I'm like you hate
I hate sleeping hates rather.
Speaker 1 (01:15:56):
I just there's so much I want to do in
a day. I hate that I have to take time
I'm to sleep. I I honestly, I'm honestly kind of
afraid of it.
Speaker 2 (01:16:04):
Told anybody this before you. I don't like, I don't know,
maybe this is morbid. I don't want to.
Speaker 1 (01:16:09):
Like just go to sleep one day and never wake
up like that really freaks me out. I'd rather like
get shot or something. I'd rather be awake. I'd rather
have a heart attack. Man. Maybe I'll regret this someday,
but like I I'd rather be awake when I die.
So I'm always like, way too often when I'm falling
asleep in bed, I think, like I get really I
freak myself out a little bit.
Speaker 2 (01:16:29):
I'm like, dude, what if I like, don't wake up?
Speaker 7 (01:16:31):
Okay, you need to go to you work that out
with somebody, because that's not normal.
Speaker 4 (01:16:39):
This is normal for like maybe an eighty one year old,
you know, man, not a man of your statue in
eight to be thinking about that.
Speaker 2 (01:16:48):
That's the present.
Speaker 1 (01:16:49):
I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm just I'm just saying so,
I'm telling it. If I could take the pill and
not sleep ever again, count me in.
Speaker 3 (01:16:57):
I'll never my eyes will never close. I guess I
haven't sleep. I have a question, will you still be tired?
Like you'll just never be tired. I would assume you would,
because there's nothing better than getting that like nap in
when you're just tired and you fall, that's the best
you wake up. If you're never tired, then I guess
I could hear that argument. But if you're just gonna
(01:17:19):
be tired but you don't have to sleep like, you
won't regret it.
Speaker 2 (01:17:23):
I don't know to me that nap just hits so different.
Speaker 3 (01:17:26):
You take the moment where you get home and you
slide your socks off and you put them under the sheets.
Speaker 2 (01:17:31):
Best thing of So no matter what, you're not giving
up sleep. I think I've never seen you so passionate.
Well you have. I'm about to read from the Danielle
s Fiel novel.
Speaker 5 (01:17:42):
So for me, I need to sleep because that's the
only time I'm not spending money. I am sleeping. I
cannot spend money. So I need to get at least
my six hours every night because that's six hours of
the day that I'm not swiping my cards. So yes,
and I just I'm also I'd love to be in bed,
(01:18:02):
like I get in bed sometimes at like seven o'clock
at night. I don't fall asleep right away, but I
just love the act of being in bed.
Speaker 2 (01:18:10):
I don't think I mean snuggling under the.
Speaker 5 (01:18:14):
Covers especially, how is there occasionally Yes.
Speaker 4 (01:18:22):
I will say this though, like in the in the wintertime,
like when the winter, not now, but like in the
winter time, and it's when it's when it's flew me
and you can't do anything else. Not I'm just saying
it's it's it's much. It's much easier to slide.
Speaker 2 (01:18:38):
In the nighttime, not now.
Speaker 4 (01:18:40):
Yeah, I just meant in the winter, it's it's easier
to stay indoors and just to and just to kind
of look forward to to sleeping, rather than the summertime, when,
like you said, you want to do all these certain
things and whatever. So so different times of the year,
I have different moods, So I guess I half and
half answered that question.
Speaker 3 (01:18:56):
Think about like coming home it's raining out and you
hear like the little pitter patters on the roof and
you just curl up in a giant blas.
Speaker 2 (01:19:08):
Watch a movie or.
Speaker 1 (01:19:09):
Read a book or something like that. Maybe I'm just
a psychopath. I need to go to therapy.
Speaker 2 (01:19:16):
Play makes Max. Don't. Robbie.
Speaker 1 (01:19:18):
You said that you feel like your your mood change
depending on the season, But what about your morals, Because
according to a new study, our morals can change depending
on the season.
Speaker 2 (01:19:32):
You ever heard of cuffing season?
Speaker 1 (01:19:33):
Yeah, exactly, exactly, that's funny that you say that, Brett.
Speaker 2 (01:19:36):
You guys are both just a segue. Professionals.
Speaker 1 (01:19:39):
Scientists discovered what appears to be a seasonal cycle between values.
Participants more strongly stand in a loyalty, authority, and purity
in the spring and fall, and less so in the
summer and winter. So, according to a new study, we
change our morals, not just our mood, our whole morals.
Speaker 2 (01:19:58):
Depending on the season. You guys agree or disagree.
Speaker 5 (01:20:02):
I guess I'm more likely to be out in the
streets and yeah, so I can kind of see that
for sure. But in the I mean, in the winter,
it is too cold to get into trouble exactly. Yeah,
(01:20:22):
I can kind of see that.
Speaker 2 (01:20:24):
The phrase hot girl summer exists.
Speaker 1 (01:20:28):
Yes, what about you, Robbie Rose and already kind of
alluded to you. Don't think your morals changed, just your mood? No, No,
I would say my mood, not my more. Every season's
cuffing season for you just cuffed them right together.
Speaker 2 (01:20:43):
Can you play.
Speaker 1 (01:20:47):
That?
Speaker 2 (01:20:47):
Was borderline? Borderland? But yes, that was yes? Can you
play it again? Yes?
Speaker 4 (01:20:53):
More on that.
Speaker 2 (01:20:54):
I don't want to go down there. We go strike three?
Speaker 1 (01:20:58):
All right, last scenario and then We'll move on to
the fan favorite segment, What show would you if you
had to be trapped in a TV show for a month?
Speaker 2 (01:21:08):
What TV show would you want to be trapped in?
Speaker 1 (01:21:12):
And who would you be if you were a character
You're not yourself trapped in You're trapped in a TV
show for a month. I'm gonna I don't know his name,
the dad from Modern Family. Yeah, no, all might be
in Phil either, but the other the older the guy,
the guy that played al.
Speaker 5 (01:21:32):
BUNDI gotcha, Okay, Yeah, I can't read, you know.
Speaker 1 (01:21:34):
For no particular reason, you know, just having a nice,
happy family.
Speaker 2 (01:21:39):
Life with Sophia Herkira is my wife, you.
Speaker 1 (01:21:41):
Know, say, I don't think that I don't think that
would be that bad. So I'm I would choose him,
damn old guy from Modern Family.
Speaker 4 (01:21:47):
I've always dreamed of being maybe an assassin or secret
agent in Another Wife. Yeah, so perhaps being key for
something the only one in twenty four. Yeah, perhaps being
key for Sutherland in the show twenty four. Just experiencing
what he did. Yeah, just just what work for the
CIA or so or you know, just working secret ops.
That's something that I've always had an interest in.
Speaker 1 (01:22:06):
You are the last person that could be in anything
called secret ops.
Speaker 2 (01:22:14):
Thank you. Yeah, not a lot of discretion.
Speaker 1 (01:22:21):
We found out enemy intel because we just heard a
guy loudly talking about.
Speaker 3 (01:22:28):
Mark your ted Lasso bingo cards. But I think being
Jamie Tart for a month would be a lot of fun. Yeah,
you're superstar athlete by day, just slinging it by night.
What a life you have a soccer player. I think
that'd be a lot of fun. Yes, and very on
brand for you. We're all very on brand with our
(01:22:49):
answers so far.
Speaker 5 (01:22:50):
This is a really tough question. I wish I had
been prepared for this, but maybe it's.
Speaker 2 (01:22:55):
Harder when you have to pick a character, not just
be yourself, right.
Speaker 5 (01:22:58):
Yeah, Yeah, I think just to be a fly on
the wall would be interesting multiple shows, but maybe going
back this is kind of dark, but maybe going back
to Gray's and Natoby and being Meredith because she experiences
like the highest of highs and then also some of
the lowest of lows. But she's a world class surgeon
and I love like being a part I love medical
(01:23:20):
field stuff, So I think I would like to do that.
Speaker 4 (01:23:23):
Yeah, I'll say Dylan on nine O two one oho oh, yeah,
Luke Perry is a short one for a happy ending
to this story, so yes, because he would be you know,
obviously the eye of everybody.
Speaker 2 (01:23:33):
In the school, so there.
Speaker 1 (01:23:34):
Sure, Yeah, well, yeah, I probably would have a different
answer if I like sat and pondered on it more.
Speaker 2 (01:23:40):
So maybe that's something that we should keep it on, keep.
Speaker 1 (01:23:42):
It out Bad Podcast, future conversation and I like it
and in the not too distant future, what we would
be talking about Brad Blake Moore in the fan Favorite
segment to close out the show.
Speaker 3 (01:23:51):
It's actually pretty tight two minutes left, so we're just
gonna call it because this is the end of the Well,
i'll give you an update, but with forty percent, this
is two percent difference. Worst Travel Nightmares is leading NFL
over reaction.
Speaker 1 (01:24:06):
Okay, so it looks like we'll be talking about our
worst travel experiences. We've already got some textas texting in
and given their experiences, we'll share some of ours to
close out the show.
Speaker 2 (01:24:15):
Worst Case Scenario. One more segment to go. Final segment
(01:24:45):
of Worst Case Scenario for the week.
Speaker 1 (01:24:47):
It is the fan favorite segment, a weekly staple here
on Worst Case Scenario, and I believe we'll be talking
about our worst travel stories ever. The segment was was
Birth from the Mind of Robbie Rose in the house
and we got some Texters text and then telling their
travel nightmares. But Robbie, I'm assuming, because you suggested this topic,
(01:25:10):
that you have a good story about a bad time
traveling somewhere.
Speaker 2 (01:25:14):
Yeah, I would.
Speaker 4 (01:25:15):
I would say that I have quite a complicated tale,
but I'll shorten it for time purposes. So I was
driving cross country to move back from the West Coast
to the East coast, and I basically had all of
my things in my four door Honda Court, but I
had a lot of clothes in dark garbage bags that
were kind of just kind of stuffed in the trunk
(01:25:36):
and everything. And I made the mistake of coming from
the state where marijuana is legal driving through certain states
where it wasn't legal.
Speaker 2 (01:25:46):
So I had certain edibles with me.
Speaker 4 (01:25:48):
And as I was driving through the state of Texas
down by the border there there is a there's a
crossing there you have to go on I ten and
they ended up seeing my car packed to the brim,
and obviously they're gonna think that with my plates out
of state plates, they're gonna think that I have something
going on. So when they got the dogs close to
the car, they obviously smelled what was out there and
(01:26:09):
they had to check my entire even though I had
just a I think it was a chocolate bar or
whatever it was, like, I don't even gummies or whatever
it was. I didn't have anything like nefarious or anything.
But I was held up at the border there for
two hours on my trip from it, and obviously I
had to cancel the hotel that night and everything. But
that was quite in ordeal. I got, you know, taken
(01:26:30):
into the uh the processing center there.
Speaker 2 (01:26:33):
Oh yeah, oh yeah, that question and everything. Oh yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:26:36):
I had to leave my cell phone on the on
the dashboard and the worst part was is that, uh yeah.
I ended up by getting detained there, but ended up
making it out alive.
Speaker 2 (01:26:49):
No hashtag free Robbie has Robby I'm here. I'm here
smiling with you guys every Sunday.
Speaker 1 (01:26:58):
We were happy to have you. So we're happy that
you're not locked up. I need to be locked up
for my time management. It is absolutely a crime. I
leave us almost no time for the fan favorite segment
every single week. So thank you to the listeners texting
in their travel horror stories.
Speaker 2 (01:27:14):
We'll get to them next week when we're back, Same time,
same place.
Speaker 1 (01:27:17):
Signing off for Robbie Rosenhows, Hailey Darling and Brett Blakemore.
Speaker 2 (01:27:20):
I'm Max Fuller. Tune in third quarter, miked up with JJ.
The replay is next
