Speaker 1 (00:01):
Live from the Mercedes Benz Interview Lounge.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Finally a moment alone with Kevin Jonah among them alone,
and I'm going to say the same thing I say
to when I'm alone with Joe, and if I'm alone
with Nick, You're my favorite Joe. You know, it's so
nice to see everyone. It's good to see you. It's
extra great to be with Friday. Happy Friday, and you too.
Thank God it Friday. Thank God we have things to celebrate.

(00:25):
They have nothing to do with anyone but you today.
I can't believe that. And we're so happy you were here.
I of course, if you've seen a Very Jonas Christmas,
you know what we're talking about. I don't want to
spoil it.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
You don't, but it's such a cute movie and it's
so I I did you enjoy it?

Speaker 2 (00:38):
I loved it.

Speaker 3 (00:38):
I watched it the day it came out. I told everyone,
don't call my house.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
It was awesome. I loved it.

Speaker 4 (00:44):
I've been getting a lot of good responses on it,
and I think families are watching it, which is really fun.
And you know, obviously you play a version of yourself.
It's so this is people are like, is this the
Jonas universe like our show back in the old school
DIT Disney days. Yeah, like no, this is like a
heightened version of ourselves now the Jonalt.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
You know what's the biggest thing that shocked me though,
is that if this is true, is that Nick is
the organized one who keeps you guys on track and
like if there's a problem, he deals with it.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
Is that true? I think we kind of all do that.

Speaker 4 (01:12):
I'm much more the logistics guy, but he's definitely like mindset,
long term, long long flow guy.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
But would Nick agree with that? That's the question I
think you would.

Speaker 4 (01:22):
I think he like looks at big picture and I
look at the micro detail, meaning like this stupid stuff
like what how are we gonna get from point A
to point B? Then where should we stay that night?
And you know that's no one's to be bothered.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
Let's let's go back to some people were talking about
a second ago about acting and you have actually had
an acting coach? Oh yeah, why does one need an
acting coach to tell him how to act? Like them?

Speaker 4 (01:42):
Okay, I'm gonna I'm gonna give you We're gonna role
play here, let's do.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
I love it when.

Speaker 4 (01:49):
Always imagine someone says you're gonna play a version of
which you've done Sharkonnado, other things.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
Version of yourself. I hate you for saying that movies
movie dude to get anything made. It's insane. I was
in Diehard with a Vengeance three, Diehard with Vengeance.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
I was in.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
I played myself and I didn't have an acting coach.
But tell me about you. So the reason I played
I needed some help was you go into it. First
of all.

Speaker 4 (02:14):
I wanted some help, you know, making sure I knew
the lines and knew you know all that stuff. So
I called a great friend of mine, Michael Park is
an actor Broadway actor, and he worked with me every
single day. What an incredible friend, just like helped me
out working. But he said to me in the first
thing we did, maybe this was him just you know,
getting more time with me. But he was like, you're
about to do the hardest thing acting has to do,
which is play yourself. Because you'll we all have a

(02:34):
version of ourselves in our mind. It's like, how do
I want to portray who? What I think of myself?

Speaker 2 (02:40):
Right? So it's like, and I'm way cooler than I
really am. This is a little questionable.

Speaker 4 (02:45):
I played and now it's true though, like you can
get in your own head like how would I actually
say this? Like how would I stay myself? And it
means like toning everything down right? Like for me, it
was like I was an animated version of myself.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
Well, so will you ever put into a situation in
the script where you had to ask yourself, well, what
would Kevin do one thousand percent? Wow? And knew that?
Did you argue with the director, Well that's what I
would do? Well?

Speaker 4 (03:09):
Yeah, No, I think we spent a lot of time
with our writers and they I think that's the thing
about the film since you've seen it, which is really cool,
is we kind of don't hold punches in this with
between brothers, Like it's actually a little uncomfortable at times.

Speaker 3 (03:21):
I was gonna say, was there anything they wanted you
to say to each other that you didn't want to
because there are things you say to each other in
this that I go.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
Oh, I can't believe you said that.

Speaker 4 (03:29):
That's yeah, So we we took that liberty of like
really going there and there was times we've there are
things that hit the cutting room floor, not because of whatever,
I just I just know we went even farther, but
we trusted them after some time. But going through that
first reading and then like us reading those lines, I
could see their faces like, okay, either they're going to
be extremely offended or think this is funny. So it's
like you could see their wheels turning. But they spent

(03:51):
a lot of time with us, getting to know our personalities,
getting to know our dynamic, and I think it worked out.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
Okay, yeah, I haven't seen it yet. It wow, it's
this week. I haven't had a moment to myself.

Speaker 4 (04:02):
Do you want to hear the lists I've been doing
this weekend if you get a chance at and I
can't wait.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
Now, I do believe. I don't want to give way
too much. Butt me to give away some because it
has to do with the song. Okay changing by the way,
when I first heard this song and I heard you
singing these lyrics, it took me to a place in
my life, as it has done with everyone who's heard it,
about where you were in your life, where you are now,
how you got there totally, and how life is it's

(04:27):
a total different ballgame now, and it's it's a very
touching song.

Speaker 4 (04:30):
I believe think and you you did it so beautifully
when you sing it. I appreciate that. It's a weird
feeling releasing my own song. And you know the first
time I performed it was at Fenway Park and yeah,
really throw yourself into the fire there. Yeah, but you know,
just I wanted something, was looking for a song. And
after this filming of this movie, which I cut part

(04:51):
of my I won't give anything away, but part of
the character does of myself does actually want to be
singing more in jonas about this music?

Speaker 2 (04:59):
Which cool?

Speaker 4 (04:59):
Okay, I think it, you know, art imitating life a
little bit. So I wrote my friend Jason Evigan, who's
a songwriter wrote Chains with Nick producer. He's incredible, and
I was like, hey, I wrote him in February. It
was like, do you have any songs that you might
feel like it might work out for me? He responded
to me in June, real friend in February.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
But guess what.

Speaker 4 (05:18):
Guess what he responded with the song, Oh, well, that's good.

Speaker 5 (05:21):
But he didn't even give you like a whole lot
I'm working.

Speaker 4 (05:23):
No, It was like, but you know what though, I
kind of I kind of loved it because the response
to the text meant more, well.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
Look, okay, let's talk about the song your family park.
This was back in August, was it?

Speaker 1 (05:36):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (05:37):
It was? It was. And this is the first time
you performed the song on stage in front of people, correct,
it was.

Speaker 4 (05:44):
It's the first time I've ever performed the song, like ever,
and so the first time I performed the song, decided
to do a family park. Was so cool seeing my
wife there and like seeing the song, like hearing it
for the first time. She obviously has been my number
one champion for a very very long time.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
Then she put a video out of her watching song. Yes,
and she was. She was in tears watching her husband,
her guy seeing you got emotional. It was really sweet.

Speaker 4 (06:06):
I didn't see it until obviously later, but you know,
it's pretty great, Danielle. I, good morning, baby, Good morning.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
How was drop off? How are the girls?

Speaker 1 (06:21):
Oh they're good.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
Our daughter got raised it. So it was a touchy morning.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
You know.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
How's it going.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
Yeah, we had we had some tears this morning. Okay,
older to stay home, but she's determined.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
Okay, I love it. Well, So you you merged into
traffic just in time. Danielle to talk about that moment
at Fenway Park in Boston, when Kevin came out and
sang changing for the first time on stage, what forget him? Yeah,
I'm just talk about you. It's all about you. What
we think we can we think we can understand what
that moment was like for you through the video that
came out with you watching. But talk to us right

(06:55):
now about that feeling when he was out there, your
guy on his own, I may cry all his own
doing this song.

Speaker 1 (07:02):
I saw that the whole time that, Like, I was like,
I'm not going to cry, I'm just going to enjoy it. Like,
and the moment I saw him like alone on the stage,
it's like everything that I don't know, Like all this
feeling just came rushing in, just being just so proud
of him, knowing that he's wanted to do this for

(07:22):
a long time but waited for like the perfect moment
and just the way he's sounded, and I was just
so proud of him.

Speaker 2 (07:32):
Thanks, babe. Wow, we're writ right now. I'm just that's
very sweet.

Speaker 5 (07:40):
Are you crying?

Speaker 2 (07:41):
I'm not going to cry.

Speaker 4 (07:42):
I'm gonna I'm just like it's a very overwhelming time,
right Like I the acting coach would say, cry now.
I would just say, like I couldn't have done it
without her. And you know, if she's not at home
taking care of the family like this and I can
be here doing this, it's like our unit is our unit.

Speaker 3 (07:59):
How long have you been right now?

Speaker 2 (08:01):
My god, we're going on seventeen years and they still Danielle.
You remember, do you guys remember the first time I
met Danielle. You guys were in a restaurant in Los Angeles?

Speaker 4 (08:10):
Yeah, the Little on Valentine's Day? So how many years
ago that was our That was our first Valentine's Day
being married. You know that that's the perfect thing. She
thought I had nothing planned that day and then woke
up and she was so funny and had she know
we had like I had a whole thing plann because
I had to go to work first.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
It was like, you know, just just tell people that
you have plans. And you had no idea that the
gift that night was you got to meet Elvis Dury gift.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
I know it blew my mind, yet it blew my mind. Danielle.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
We're so happy to have you here and I'm so
glad that we decided to do Thanks for calling in.
That was very very sweet. How's your jewelry line going.

Speaker 1 (08:53):
It's going really good. I have to talk to my
sister more about some more stuff. But we're doing good.
We're doing very good, all right.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
Daniel Thank you, have a beautiful day, right bye, Love
your baby sea soon. See there's the thing what's going on.
This song really means so thank you, thank You're welcome.
I haven't talked to you yet this morning, so thank you.
There's so much going on rotating in I guess satelliting
this song. I mean, there's a movie going on in here.
There's your song came out, and did you have an album?

(09:21):
You're gonna do your own album too. I'm not sure,
you know.

Speaker 4 (09:24):
The thing about this right now is really focused on
this and whatever wherever this leads. But I have worked
on a lot more music. I've been writing more, been
costing more songs that I love, cut them already. It's
just not sure what it will be yet, and so
I think that's kind of cool that I can just
take my time and figure it out. It took me
twenty years for this one, so if it's anything less
than twenty, we're doing something good.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
Danielle was surprised Umber wins Surprise number two. Yeah, exactly,
he's leaving the band. Oh no, he's not gonna have it,
so a solo career.

Speaker 4 (09:53):
That's the beauty of this band. Everyone can do their
own thing and still be the Jonas brothers.

Speaker 5 (09:56):
So now that you are doing your own thing a
little bit and still part of band, what's the weirdest
part to you about promoting just you? Because you're sitting
in a different chair in the studio.

Speaker 4 (10:06):
First time in this hot seat, I'm in the Nazi.
Thank you very much. I appreciate it. There's not really
much different, you know, I feel like it's the same
old things. Just finally, I'm it's a little weird talking
about a song that you've had for yourself for so
long that No, I've had it since student, right, Like,

(10:26):
I've had this song and it took me that long
to perform it and then of course for me to
release it. So it's just like it takes time, and
I'm just happy that people are willing to listen to
what I have to say.

Speaker 5 (10:38):
And watching both of your brothers do their solo thing,
have you learned something from them that you want to
do or what you don't want to do.

Speaker 4 (10:43):
I definitely learned so much from them and continue to learn.
I think we all lean on each other a lot.
You know, we were very lucky to have each other.
I'll say that Nick's new project, I will say, is
one of the best things I've ever heard.

Speaker 2 (10:56):
Cool. It's so new.

Speaker 4 (10:58):
And different from Nick but still same old hat. But
it's his first album and I'll let him talk about it.

Speaker 2 (11:06):
Kevin, this is not you, I know, but it's.

Speaker 4 (11:08):
Very very cool, and I'm excited for him because it's
his first album being a father, you know, like other
solo projects, so he has a lot more to say
for himself, which is really cool, and I'm just really
really excited for everyone to hear it.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
It's really special. Don't you get worn out watching the
Jonas Brothers schedule?

Speaker 3 (11:23):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (11:24):
Okay, oh man, their their managements.

Speaker 4 (11:27):
I'm like, guys, you know, we're the ones saying where
the where the one is putting it together?

Speaker 2 (11:31):
Auly No, no, no, I'm not saying you're not. I'm making
commentary on what you see online. Okay, Okay. What I'm
saying is you're you have so much and this is
not a new thing. The Jonahs Brothers calendar has been
filled for years now.

Speaker 4 (11:44):
It's a thing. I'm very very blessed. I My wife
asked me, she goes, do other people tour like this?
And I go, no, but that's that's a good thing.
Like we are very lucky that we can. And she's like,
I know, it's just the is insane.

Speaker 3 (12:01):
You know, we're getting a very Jonas Eastern movie.

Speaker 4 (12:03):
You know, Arbor Day, Arbor Day of July, fourth of July.
I think a Halloween thing could be.

Speaker 2 (12:10):
Fun, Jonahoween. I think it could.

Speaker 4 (12:13):
Be a pretty fun, but like a really down and
dirty slasher film.

Speaker 2 (12:17):
Yeah, no, I'm kidding. I don't know.

Speaker 4 (12:20):
You know, we'll see. I think let's h let's let
people watch this one. But it seems like the response
is very positive.

Speaker 3 (12:26):
I'm sure Disney will be coming at you soon.

Speaker 2 (12:28):
We have ideas for another one. We'll okay, cool.

Speaker 5 (12:31):
I have a personal question, okay, bringing on. So there
are four boys in the Jonahs brothers families. You, Nick, Joe, Frankie,
you guys all have daughters. We do You went from
all boys to now all girls. How are you all
handling that?

Speaker 2 (12:45):
What is that? It is? It is?

Speaker 4 (12:47):
It's a life changing thing. Yeah, it is, honestly, girl.
Dad always wanted to be always said I want two girls.
Maybe there'll be more, I don't know, but no exclusive
yet Tom. But I think for all of us it
really shook up the system. And I think that it's
really cool that we all have girls because we all
have that to be related on, like we all can
relate on it together, which is really great.

Speaker 2 (13:08):
And then on top of that, how could you not.

Speaker 4 (13:10):
Have like we have five beautiful little girls running around
every family event now and it's just they just run
the show. And then of course Elena the oldest, the
first granddaughter or daughter, you know, she's almost twelve, just
got a brace.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
It's like she's like a little teenage. It's so weird.
They're at the red carpet.

Speaker 4 (13:26):
They're in the movie, and Elena and Valentina they did
so good in the film, and god, I'm worried. I
think I think they get there about the bug. I'm
everyone asked that, right, It's like what if my parents
said no, And I'm like, oh, yeah, that would be
my life would be completely different. I will never say
no to them if they really want to do it.

(13:47):
But we also really push this ourselves, right, obviously, have
a lot more knowledge now of what we shouldn't be
doing and what can't you know, what we need to
stay away from. But at the same time, if they
really want to be have a passion for acting saying what,
I will absolutely support them.

Speaker 2 (14:02):
But you know that's a lot, that's a lot. I know,
they could keep you eating and investing in real estates
for the rest of your life. Yeah, they take to
bring the money.

Speaker 4 (14:14):
And I mean, how long depend on them for money?
I've done a very bad job.

Speaker 2 (14:18):
No, no, why not? I mean who glaciers is that
they're going to in aery k I need cash?

Speaker 4 (14:25):
You know, I don't know it's possible. I just would
say the benefit is for girls. I'm gonna have my
girls forever. It's not the whole thing. They're going to
take care of dad long term. Of course, I take care.

Speaker 2 (14:37):
Of him now. I think I'll be Okay, Well, look
rich in life? Do this? What is this? Twenty twenty five,
Let's go to twenty thirty five. Ten years from now? Wow,
I mean, just just a thought. There's no way to
look into the crystal ball. But ten years from now,
what's it going to be.

Speaker 4 (14:51):
I want to make more music, I want to make
more movies. Like, who knows, maybe maybe we'll be still
doing this with you.

Speaker 3 (14:58):
I will be here the this nursing home movie fifty
fifty My god, twenty years put out to pasture so early.

Speaker 2 (15:10):
I'm very Jonas broken hip, you know, actually broke my
hip already in my life. I did in camp. What
is it you guys happened? You even had skin cancer?

Speaker 1 (15:22):
Well?

Speaker 2 (15:23):
I did, Yeah, I had a carsonoma. But talk about
that because a lot of people listening don't understand the
importance of getting your skin checked. People I had, I
had one, check, rip it out.

Speaker 4 (15:32):
I've had a lot removed since I haven't talked about it.
That's a multiple things, but it's a thing. Get your
most checked, and it's okay to just get.

Speaker 2 (15:40):
Them remove and get them checked it.

Speaker 5 (15:42):
I'm fixated on your broken hip. As a young person,
I felt okay.

Speaker 4 (15:45):
So this camp, which was a like slip boy camp,
had like three story bunk beds, so it's a bunk bed,
bunk bed, bunk bed, and I was on the top one,
because of course I was, and I rolled off and
fracture in my head.

Speaker 5 (15:55):
Oh sorry, that's not funny.

Speaker 2 (15:57):
It is funny. It's ridiculous.

Speaker 5 (15:58):
You rolled off the bed. That'stuff I used to do
when I was younger, said about that.

Speaker 2 (16:01):
I know, but wait, my question is why is it?
Of course I was the top box because I had
to be right. I was that kid.

Speaker 4 (16:07):
It was like, oh, I have to sleep up there,
not let's just be normal and sleep at the bull right.

Speaker 3 (16:11):
Yeah, but no, if you yeah, if you sleep on
the bottom, I always get worried someone's gonna fall through.

Speaker 2 (16:15):
And Nate said, Nate said, you don't want other people's
heat rises. Dude, depends on how thick mattresses. Okay, all right, look, uh,
congratulations on everything. And I'm telling you this, this song
is truly in my opinion, it's it's the sun and
everything else are the planets? Oh my god? And you

(16:36):
know having you guys, were you here? You are even
you guys, it's you know you and your multiple personalities
report into this acting coach. You have, Uh, congratulations on everything,
as I always say every time you're here, and we're
always so proud of you and thank.

Speaker 3 (16:48):
You for the Z one hundred shout out that you
gave us.

Speaker 4 (16:50):
It's real story, right, Like we have the bridge on
stage and it talks about we really do talk about
you guys constantly because you were a part of our life.
Like I remember how many times I called in and
request at our music early days.

Speaker 2 (17:00):
Here still do. I love that now they text in, Hello, yeah,
I'm going to play changing. I've got to play it now.
And we appreciate you coming by and love to all
the families. We love you all and so good to
see you have a great to have you all day.
You too, Kevin chon us By
