Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello, and good morning you too. How are you doing?
Speaker 2 (00:03):
We are doing great, awesome.
Speaker 1 (00:06):
What is it about the Dora series that continues to
be such a major league attraction? Is it the beautiful
art of interacting with the viewers and allowing them to
feel like that they are part of this journey.
Speaker 3 (00:21):
I think that's part of it. I mean, Dora, you know,
obviously connects with viewers, and we have a little bit
of fun with that in our movie. But I think
the bigger, you know, the bigger reason that Dora, that
that Dora as a property has endured, is just everything
that that Dora stands for as a character. You know,
(00:41):
She's curious, she's optimistic, she's adventurous, and I just kids
love that part of her personality and character and want
to want to go with her wherever she goes.
Speaker 1 (00:54):
Yeah, Because I mean even as a grown adult, when
I walk through my force here in South Charlotte, I
feel like I'm Dora because I'm always exploring to find
new things, and I swear that she is the influence
of me wanting to do that.
Speaker 3 (01:06):
I love that. I love that. Hopefully you don't have
a fox who's you know, chasing you and failing all
this stuff along the way in your backyard. But yeah,
it's it's a really really special property that people have
never stopped loving since it premiered twenty years ago.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
Wow wow. And for you guys to put it in
movie form that is so perfect because we're all looking
for that escape right now. Every generation is looking for
an escape. And with it being you know, in this
role now, it really opens the door for all people
to show up.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
You know, we really wanted the whole family to watch
this movie.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
Well, I grew, you know, watching Nora, and I low
it and I let it. Have a kid who's like
five who also loves Dora. We are making this movie
for everyone, for the foundlists and enjoy We added every
little you know details, so everyone kind of enjoyed it,
from the kids to the families to the teenagers. And
(02:05):
like you said, it's an exciting adventure. I think. I
think the reason people love Dora is who doesn't want
to be an explorer? You know? And and it's very
on and it said pieces are a little dangerous, so
that's going to be also resonated with everyone. So it's
it's an exciting new adventure for Laura.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
One of the things that happens during this movie is
the fact that there is a new person playing Dora.
But you know, in watching it, I we didn't need
to know that. I mean, I just feel like it's
still Dora. I mean, it's just the way that we've
fallen in love with the entire process.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
Oh yeah, she's amazing. So Samantha Lorrain, the actress who
plays Dora, she's literally Dora, like she has that optimism
and she was always laughing and like we put her
through everything, you know, fire, moving balls, box on her body, water,
you name it. And then she was still smiling literally
like Dora right like where she's like, oh yeah, I
(03:01):
just you know how a bogging on my entire body,
eye still smiling. And it was such a blessing finding
her because we went searching everywhere to find these special
actors who played this role, and we could have not
being luckier that she was born at this time and
it was a perfect time where we're trying to find her.
Speaker 1 (03:21):
Please do not move. There's more with Adam and Alberto
coming up next. Hey, thanks for coming back to my
conversation with Adam and Alberto from Dora The Search for
Soul Doroto one of the things that you know, we've
been talking so much about Dora, but we're forgetting about
Diego and Boots. I mean, oh my god, these two.
I mean, to me, it's such a trio of adventure.
(03:43):
We're searching, we're seeking, We're looking for treasures. I mean,
soul Dorado is that new place where we're all going
to go. I've got to go there. I want to
be able to find that treasure as well.
Speaker 3 (03:55):
Yeah, and yeah, I know we've been talking about Samantha
as Dora, but Jacob Rodriguez as Diego is another another
huge find. And also, uh, you know, a very physical actor.
I mean he won the role because of his physicality
(04:15):
and then the situations that Albert to put him in physically,
you know, hanging hanging from more ropes and swinging you know,
high up in the air over spikes and and he
uh he he was just game for whatever we threw
at him, and uh and joy to work with the
(04:37):
attire cast. But but I would say Dora and Diego
physically had to endure some pretty outrageous situations.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
I think one of the invisible stars here is the Amazon.
I mean, it's just one of those things where it's
like you know, I mean, rainforests are are are you know,
slowly fading from our sites. But you give us that
that picture of going, yes, we we still have to
love our trees. We still have to love all living
things for sure.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
Yeah, we're shutting a real uh jungle to celebrate the nature.
You know, like I think, I think right now, like
more and more movies aort of you know, shooting on
Send because it was the shooting and the general ice insane.
So the fact that we got to be able to
do it was such a blessing. And you could feel
the energy you know, when you're in the real jungle
that tried to re create these things and the ancient
(05:27):
inca and then being in those places where they were
it was it was a special magical for sure.
Speaker 1 (05:32):
There's so much action inside this New Dora. I mean,
I just I love the way that you guys can
create that. You know, if it first appears in someone's imagination,
they have to write it and then you guys have
to bring it to life and then we experience it.
Speaker 3 (05:48):
Yeah, I mean, you know the way that Alberto captured
the tension and the excitement and the danger, you know,
this movie is really really blew my mind. I mean
I knew we I knew we had it when we
were shooting it, but then when Alberta shared with me
(06:10):
is cut, it was you know, I I I was
on the edge of my seat.
Speaker 1 (06:16):
Because you really really.
Speaker 3 (06:19):
Feel especially in scenes you know where they get buried
with moving walls and and and where they fall off
of cliffs, and when they you know when they when
(06:39):
you know when when when they have to uh get
out of these really tight, precarious situations. I mean, you're
just you're you feel it. You're not just watching it,
You're feeling it.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
Wow, you guys are the wizards behind the curtain. How
do you prep for something like this? I mean that
the visionaries that you guys are that you make this
all come together. What is the prep?
Speaker 3 (07:00):
Like?
Speaker 2 (07:04):
The prep I mean, first is finding the locations right,
So we went everywhere as eventually before the movie was
in Columbus, so we visited many, many, many different jungles
to try to find that perfect spot. And then after
that then we you know, you work with a whole
theme of amazing crew who continue who is like the
(07:25):
DP and Roninsky who is a production designer and to
be able to create these world and how do we
use the relocation and make it our own. And then
also as the director is really trying to find what's
the minium every scene, you know, and then watching a
lot of movies, which is my favorite thing, you know,
like why you know, get inspired by you know, Indiana
Jones and the Gonies and so watching all of these movies.
(07:48):
The Mummy is another one, so to get inspired of
like that vibe of trying to capture that vibe that
I love so much growing up into this movie.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
Well, I am so glad that Nickelodeon has given you
a platform for this because once again every age group
is going to fall in love with this because we're
all asking, Hey, what do you want to watch? That's
fun today? You've got to get Dora, honest, what you've
got to do?
Speaker 2 (08:08):
Hm?
Speaker 3 (08:09):
Love it?
Speaker 1 (08:10):
Wow, guys, you got to come back to this show
anytime in the future. The door is always going to
be open for you, the door or the Dora. Oh.
I love your attitude. Oh, it's exactly. The Dora will
always be open for you. I love that guy. Be
brilliant today.
Speaker 3 (08:27):
Okay, awesome, thank you, thank you for everything.
