Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hi, it's Michael. Your morning show can be heard on
great radio stations across the country, like News Talk ninety
two point one and six hundred WREC in Memphis, Tennessee,
or thirteen hundred The Patriot in Tulsa, our Talk six
fifty KSTE in Sacramento, California. We invite you to listen
live while you're getting ready in the morning and to
take us along for the drive to work. But as
we always say, better late than never. Thanks for joining

(00:21):
us for the podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Well two three, starting your morning off right, A new.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
Way of talk, a new way of understanding because we're
in this toge. This is your morning show with Michael
o'dryl Chorno. Well, I hope Kamela doesn't use that line
in the debate. Seven minutes after the hour, thanks for
waking up with your all morning show on the air
and streaming live on your iHeartRadio app. I am Michael
del Journo. Delighted that you've joined us this morning. It's

(00:52):
an honor to serve you and get you up and
informed and give me some things to think about in
an attempt to understand September ninth, like you can only
understand it here and then go out and maximize and
live it. We do get emails, and this one kind
of answers what we were talking about last hour. We
played a clip of Vivek Ramaswami and he's saying, you know,

(01:14):
just as the Democrats pushed and pushed and pushed to
get the earliest debate in history, I mean, when do
you have a presidential debate before the conventions? Only in
twenty twenty four? And so what happened, well, Joe lukxenile,
so they immediately had to get rid of him and
usher in Kamala Harris. So Viveck was saying, now they're

(01:36):
trying to manage expectations and keep them very low for
the debate tomorrow night, because we all know this debate
could decide the election. It's not very likely that she's
going to have a great performance. It's more than possible
she'll have a bad performance. What's the next trick up
their sleeve? And Vivek, in his interview with Sean Hannity,
never really had an idea of what they would do.

(01:58):
He's just announcing, Look, they're always a step ahead of us.
They've got something planned for this. And so then I
get this email from Jim, and he may have solved
the riddle of the schweinks Michael. I truly believe they
plan on Kamala pulling a twenty fifth Amendment on Biden
after the debate to make history as the first female

(02:19):
minority president. The momentousness of that act alone was showering
her with the ability to take command will sway many
to elect her otherwise. So that would be the tactic
of Because there's two ways to look at that, right, Okay,
you made your history in your own manipulated way. Add

(02:40):
that to the manipulation of everybody voted for Joe. You
took their votes through them in a trash can just
dismissed the entire process of the primary, gave it to Kamala.
Then you want to break I mean this would be
with an asterix, right, if you're gonna asterix, Roger Merris,
you're gonna asterix this. Oh so the first female president
happened to be because they orchestrated all of this that

(03:03):
could actually backfire and for those that it makes great. Okay,
we made our history. Now let's fix inflation and elect
Donald Trump. But I see where you're headed. Could that
be it would that be the next play, Just get
rid of Joe. Joe of course while he's loading up
his U haul boxes will be pardon my son, pardon

(03:25):
my son, please. I mean, it could be anything like that.
I guess this one. Michael, Thank you for what you
do every morning. I don't want to be critical, but
can you help in calling trafficking what it is enslavement?
Democrats are emotional voters. Calling enslavement for what it is

(03:49):
may help them with their emotional voting. And March of
eighteen oh seven, the United States was the first country
in the world to outlaw slave trade. And now it's back.
It's still illegal, but it's still happening. PS love your
morning show. Well, of course, you know, if it's human trafficking,

(04:11):
it does lead to either sexual enslavement or work enslavement.
I'll never forget a member of Congress I was interviewing
this is like, oh my gosh, nineteen ninety nine, and
I'm like, come And at that time, I was like,
come on, it's been twenty something years. Why can't we
just solve this border in illegal immigration issue? And he

(04:33):
was the first person that just said it for what
it was. He said, well, you won't because the Democrats
love the votes and the Republicans love the cheap labor.
That's the truth. So don't expect them to do anything
here it is twenty five years later, no change. Republicans

(04:56):
aren't very honest with you about the cheap labor, and
Democrats certainly aren't very honest with you about they love
the votes. So I believe the illegal immigration from the
left's perspective is to ensure that they never lose an
election again, because they can't win on worldview, they can't
win on policy view, they can't win on agenda and

(05:20):
track record. So this is to ensure the administrative state
always stays in power. You're looking at twenty million maybe
since the last election. Does it lead to cheap labor,
enslavement and for the enslavement of everyone else? Yeah, especially

(05:48):
as we pay for the illegals, whether it's in California
giving them down payments for homes or all the entitlement
programs we were war their illegal behavior with. We take
from one and give to another to ensure the power
of one. And as I told him, Oh but it's

(06:11):
certainly worthy reminding the class. You make a powerful point, Jim.
Thanks for the emails, and thank you to all of
you that email Michael D at iHeartMedia dot com. You
can also call eight hundred sixt eight ninety five twenty
two or the talkback button on your iHeartRadio app. You
can record a message. We get it instantly, we can
share with the class. All right, if you're just waking
up twelve minutes after the hour, Welcome to Monday, September eleventh.

(06:34):
We do have the big debate tomorrow night, then we
have the nine to eleven remembrance the day after. It's
going to be a busy week. The mother of the
teenage accused of killing four people in Georgia. This story
gets This is the mother with the rap sheet a
mile long, from child abuse to theft, to fraud. The
father's already been arrested and charged along with the son.

(06:54):
Now she comes forward and says, well, I called the
school to warn them. A new poll shows this election
is a virtual dead heat heading into tomorrow night's presidential debate,
which makes understanding. This is where we were when the
debate happens, so we can understand the impact of the
debate in the polls that follow it. That's why we'll
spend a lot of time previewing it. Next Hour with

(07:15):
the Republican analyst Chris Walker and this Hour with White
House correspondent to John Decker. The manhunt continues. That suspect
just on I seventy five shooting people as they drive by.
I mean, we live in such a sick, crazy time's
going on. Although anytime I hear Manhunt, this is the
influence of watching too much television on WGN Saturday morning

(07:38):
when I was a kid. Don't you just picture like
the guy with the torch and the dogs are barking
and yelping, the posse's on the man the NFL season,
that was crazy. Tyreek Hill getting the Scottie Scheffler treatment
outside of the Miami Stadium. You know, it's just the
star of my fantasy football team to star the Miami Dolphins.

(07:59):
This guy's got on the ground, I mean. And then
this whole week will come to an end tonight. With
Aaron Rodgers back in a Jet's uniform. Could he at
least last more than two plays without getting injured? The
Jets and Brock Purdy and the forty nine ers will
go out of tonight. On Monday night, football sounds of
the day we played this clip earlier. This is Vivek Ramaswami,

(08:19):
and he's basically trying to warn everybody that, just as
when they waltzed out the early debate in June, only
to have Joe predictably fall, that was all by designed
Usher and Kamala. So what happens when Kamala fails into
debate tomorrow night? What's up their sleeve? Vivec doesn't necessarily

(08:42):
think they're going to shuffle her off and bring someone
else on, but he does expect something to be up
their sleeve.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
Now, I don't think it's going to be a change
in the Canucks. The ballots have already been printed. But
I do think that we have a machine that we're
up against that has demonstrated that it is going to
go to great measures to defeat Donald Truy. You trace
this back over the last year and a half. You've
got prosecutions, you've got civil cases, you've got extra judicial
attempts to remove him from the ballot. They told us

(09:09):
Joe Biden was definitively going to be the nominee, then
negotiated for the earliest ever presidential debate in US history.
Because they knew that there was a good chance Biden
would underperform. Once he did, they swapped him out. I
think we've got to learn from those lessons, Sean to
say that they're still going to have many more tricks
up their sleeve.

Speaker 1 (09:26):
I have a lot of friends who are Democrats, and
I hope I have a lot of listeners that are Democrats.
I can reasonably discuss our differences and disagreements. I'm not
a Democrat or Republican. In fact, I would spend most
of our time discussing how both parties are part of
the problem, and when you add it to the social dilemma,

(09:46):
the matrix that we're living in, it's impossible to overcome
that in order to solve these individual problems. But if
Republicans we're seeing their party pipilate a process the way
the Democrats have, would you be turning a blind eye
to it too, I guess as you would. But I

(10:10):
look at this and I scratch my head. If I
were a Democrat and I had to listen to that
nineteen seconds of the veak Ramaswami and understand he didn't
conflate anything, he didn't exaggerate anything. That is exactly what
your party did. I can't imagine how I'd feel as

(10:36):
an American or B as a Democrat or c excited
about voting for this. He's dead right. They did all that,
and they got a plan from when she bombs in
the debate tomorrow night too. We just don't know what
it is. I thought this definitely qualified as Sound of
the Day. Look, Kamala Harris is not a squad member,

(11:02):
but she's not far to the right of a squad member.
This is the most leftist liberal candidate for president of
the United States we've ever had. This is left of
Hillary Clinton. This is outrageously left of Bill Clinton. So

(11:22):
who's the leftist of all leftists? Well, the self profess
socialist Bernie Sanders. And watch how he gets challenged on
the weekend Meet the Press talking headshow. Billy Harris as
a progressive.

Speaker 4 (11:36):
She has previously supported Medicare for all, now she does not.
She's previously supported a ban on fracking, now she does not.

Speaker 1 (11:44):
These Senator, are ideas that you have campaigned on.

Speaker 4 (11:48):
Do you think that she is abandoning her progressive ideals?

Speaker 1 (11:52):
By the way, it is an incomplete answer to presume
that Bernie Sanders is the only Socialist and the Democrat Party.
In fact, the entire party's platform matches up with the
nineteen twelve Socialist Party platform. Bernie Sanders himself would have
gotten the nomination over Hillary Clinton if they didn't play

(12:12):
super delegate games. He'd have won again in twenty twenty
if they didn't cut a deal in South Carolina with
Joe Biden. That's the reason they cut the deal to
avoid Bernie Sanders. The party is that crazy left, not
just Bernie Sanders. So the question isn't meet the press
in the back pocket of the Democrat Party asking this

(12:35):
fake question of Bernie Sanders. She's supposed to be a
leftist like you, But look how she's flip flopped one anything.
Watch Bernie's answer, It's beautiful. No, I don't think she's
abandoning her ideals.

Speaker 5 (12:48):
I think she's trying to be pragmatic in doing what
she thinks is right in order to win the election.

Speaker 1 (12:54):
So she's misleading the voters to vote for her, and
then she'll do everything just as he said. The poles
are dead even again, who cares about the national polling
right being dead? Even although that would suggest that Kamala
Harris has lost a lot since the convention that it's
dead even Now, let's go inside the swing states that
once Donald Trump led six to seven until the fallout

(13:17):
of Joe Biden. Suddenly Nevada tied. Harris is up five
since jettising Joe, and its tie. In North Carolina, Trump's
up by one. They've gained four since switching to Harris. Now,
remember the left loves to use these numbers to scare

(13:38):
you the Harris, but yes, that just gets Trump back
to where he was before America realized Biden was seen. Now,
if you compare these numbers to before the Biden Trump debate,
they're roughly right where they were. So whatever bump they
got from Harris is slowly going away, and the trajectory
is it's heading away. Going into the debate. We think

(14:01):
we'll make it go away even faster. Tai, Nevada, North Carolina,
and Arizona. Trump leading slightly, Harris leading by one point.
In Michigan, Trump leading by two. In Georgia, Pennsylvania, Harris
leading by two. Wisconsin, Harris leading by three. And remember
we were generous with the electoral college map, and we

(14:22):
gave her. We gave her Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania. We gave
Trump North Carolina and Georgia and guess what, and we
even gave her a Wisconsin Pennsylvania. That made it two
sixty nine to two sixty nine, a district of Nebraska

(14:44):
deciding the presidency in twenty twenty four. Crazy year. You
know it's going to have a crazy finish. And we're
well passed halftime and no Lamar or Kendrick Lamar. This
is your morning show with Michael Del Tuno. We're just
waking up. Former Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley says she

(15:05):
disagrees with former President Donald Trump's proposal to mandate in
vitro fertilization treatments to be paid by the government or
private insurers. It doesn't mean she's not going to vote
for him or doesn't think others should vote for him,
just disagrees on that issue. Mark Mayfield has more.

Speaker 2 (15:20):
Appearing on CBS Faced the Nation, Haley said, although she
disagreed with Trump on this particular issue, she still wants
to see him get elected. I don't have to like
him or agree with him one hundred percent of time
to know that life for Americans would be better under
the policies where we.

Speaker 1 (15:35):
Have strong immigration, where we have law and order.

Speaker 2 (15:39):
The former South Carolina governor went on to say Trump's
policy platform as a whole would be better for Americans
than Herris's proposals. Haley also criticized Vice presidential candidate Ja
d Vancey's recent comments criticizing women without children, saying that
kind of messaging by the Republican ticket is not helpful.

Speaker 1 (15:54):
On Mark Mayfield Well, the Cheney families hate Trump's. Their
values and beliefs is when it comes to Trump. Lisa
Taylor has more.

Speaker 6 (16:02):
The former Wyoming congresswoman and critic of Donald Trump, told
an audience Friday that the former VP for George W.
Bush supports Harris.

Speaker 1 (16:09):
Did Chenney will be voting for Kamala Harris.

Speaker 6 (16:14):
Liz Cheney and Trump have been at odds since the
January sixth Capitol Riot. Cheney says she voted for Trump
in twenty sixteen and twenty twenty, but it's called his
conduct on January sixth the betrayal. She lost her primary
election to a Trump backed opponent in twenty twenty two.
I'm Lisa Taylor, so.

Speaker 1 (16:29):
If the game's better than the halftime show, Lisa Cardon has.

Speaker 7 (16:32):
More neutralized I can only watch in silence. The famous
act that we once to know is look at kronoid enough.

Speaker 4 (16:39):
Kendrick Lamar is headlining the Super Bowl fifty nine halftime show.
The NFL announced Sunday Lamar would perform at the league's
championship game February ninth in New Orleans. This won't be
the first time the Compton rapper has performed at the
halftime show, having appeared alongside other West Coast hip hop
greats at Super Bowl fifty six. Lamar has won twenty

(16:59):
nine b ET Awards, seventeen Grammys, and even a Puellar
serprise for music that you allow.

Speaker 7 (17:05):
You Too, But don't tell no lie about me and
I won't tell truth about you.

Speaker 1 (17:10):
I'm Lisa Carton, him, Michael del Jonno, and your morning
show can be heard lie as it's happening five to
eight am Central and six to nine Eastern on great
stations like six twenty WJDX and Jackson, Mississippi, or Akrons,
News Talk six forty WHLO and AKRON, Ohio and News
Radio five seventy WDAK and Columbus, Georgia. Love to be
a part of your morning routine. But we're glad you're

(17:32):
here now enjoyed the podcast. I sure hope you had
a great weekend. I agree. We were with Truckers Against Cancer.
We played in a golf tournament at Montgomery Bell State
Park this weekend. It was Scott Hamilton, Olympic gold medalist. Myself.
Nate Bargatzi is probably, along with Sebastian Maniscalco, two of

(17:54):
the hottest comedians of our day. Oh absolutely. His father
is Stephen, and Stephen is also median and an incredible magician.
He does both in a very compelling act. And most
of the stories that Nate tells on stage only happened
because he grew up with Steven as his father. Let
me tell you something. Who else we had also? Chas

(18:17):
Corsine was in our foursome Jazz was Amy Grant, Michael W.
Smith's manager for many many years. He now runs Theda,
the entertainment center at Belmont University. Now, but I mean,
do you talk about four people that had a lot
more one liners than one putts. But great time was
had by all, great great money raised in cancer research
and services. So that was the highlight of my weekend.

(18:40):
Of course, we had a first weekend in the NFL,
which will end tonight with the Jets and Aaron Rodgers
taking on the forty nine Ers. And baseball continues as
we head towards the playoffs, and believe it or not,
we got the debate tomorrow night, then the nine to
eleven remembrance the day after. It's going to be a
busy week. Roory O'Neil is joining us our your morning
show correspondent. He can can relate to busy weeks with

(19:01):
both the election and the holidays on the horizon. How
are retailers preparing? Oh my gosh, are they already thinking
about Christmas? Absolutely?

Speaker 8 (19:10):
Are you kidding? Some of the big stores like Costco
and Stuff already have the trees up, and as the
Halloween merchandise sells out, it's being replaced by Christmas merchandise.
But what's interesting, Axios is reporting that this year, concerned
that the election they drag on for days, retailers are
going to start offering much earlier sales because they're afraid

(19:33):
everyone's going to be home watching the news and not
out shopping.

Speaker 1 (19:37):
If there were.

Speaker 8 (19:37):
Day after day after day and we don't have results
of an election for a couple of days this time
around well.

Speaker 1 (19:42):
Election years, they always throw a monkey wrench into things,
especially predicting online versus brick and mortar is always makes
it tough to track, just gets harder and harder to know.
But in the end, America always ends up spending, don't
they including debt? They don't care.

Speaker 8 (19:59):
You know. There could be attitude changes as well, like
if you do see things start to get ugly during
election counting and that this does drag on for days,
that may just throw a paul in a wet blanket
over things.

Speaker 1 (20:12):
So that could be a bit of an issue.

Speaker 8 (20:13):
But the other problem for retailers this year compared to
last year is that Thanksgiving.

Speaker 1 (20:19):
Is late this year.

Speaker 8 (20:21):
We have five fewer shopping days between Black Friday and
Christmas this year compared to last, so look for earlier
sales to get this merchandise moving.

Speaker 1 (20:32):
Any anticipation or any data that points to if one
side wins over the other, maybe we'd spend more. They
haven't made politics of this, have they.

Speaker 3 (20:42):
No.

Speaker 8 (20:42):
I haven't seen that specifically, so I haven't seen any
breakdown there.

Speaker 1 (20:47):
But it just presumes the uncertainty for both sides right.

Speaker 8 (20:51):
Right, which, of course no one likes, and we don't
know what else could throw a wrench in here. You know,
we'll talk dext hour about insurance costs and the like.
When it comes to hurricanes and big storms, you know,
you get a major storm suddenly wreaking havoc across a
good part of the country that actually is good for spending,
hate to say it, sorry, yeah, oh yeah, tend to

(21:13):
cause a lot of spending for recovery purposes after and
that can juice up in the economy in some spot.
So yeah, there are different things that can happen along
the way.

Speaker 1 (21:20):
All right, And then we also have the debate tomorrow night.
Yeah right.

Speaker 8 (21:27):
In the US Open over the weekend, how did.

Speaker 1 (21:30):
We end up? I got so busy, I didn't get
a chance. Did Did we have an American win? We
did well.

Speaker 8 (21:36):
We had an American man in the finals for the
first time in like a decade, so and he lost
rights lost in straight sets, So okay, so Cinner, well done.

Speaker 1 (21:47):
And then no, no female champion.

Speaker 8 (21:51):
I forgot who it was.

Speaker 1 (21:52):
Yeah, Decker is going to be in a bad mood.
I'll find out in five minutes. But I told him
I was going to watch, so I got to act
like I know what I'm talking about. I was busy NFL,
I had a charity golf tournament, plus I look.

Speaker 8 (22:04):
Of an end to the NASCAR race in Atlanta yesterday,
and lots going on.

Speaker 1 (22:08):
You do the NASCAR, all right, So, but you've been
crunching the numbers on this one thing. I've come to
this conclusion presuming, and I think it's right to presume.
This is it. This is the only presidential debate we're getting.
A vice presidential debate could have an impact, but not
like this one. The expectations are low for Kamala Harris.
Does she exceed those low expectations by design, live up

(22:29):
to them, or actually not live up to even the
low expectations we anticipate This is probably the biggest thing
that could impact the outcome of the election that we
can see coming anyway.

Speaker 8 (22:40):
Yeah, okay, expectations are for her alone. I hadn't seen that.
I hadn't seen they were high either, to be honest,
But I think she's the one with stuff to lose.
I mean, everyone knows Donald Trump. We're going to get
we know Donald Trump. People who are still trying to
figure out who Kamala Harris is. If I'm asking the debate.
If I were a moderator of that debate tomorrow night,
my first question is, who the heck are you? Because

(23:04):
you're not the person we saw in twenty nineteen, and
you're not the person who was Joe Biden's running mate.

Speaker 1 (23:09):
So who the heck are you? And you're not the
person who's been vice president. You seem to have flip
flopped on every issue, but no a headline in Fox
This Morning as Harri's team moves to soften potential debate
impact before it even happens, so that would reveal lower expectations.
Debates were her downfall in the primaries in twenty twenty.
In fact, it was Telsea Gabberd that knocked her out.

(23:32):
Word salads have been her problem, and over giggling has
been a problem as vice president. So she has the
presidential a b. I don't know unless ABC plays along,
She's going to have to talk issues. So you're not
gonna be able to just give generic answers like in
the one interview. You're gonna have to make a case
for these policies. That hasn't been her strength in the past.

(23:53):
We'll see how it plays out tonight. For Donald Trump.
I just don't think he can get too abusive with her.
You ought to attack the policies, but not the per
and I think he'll be fine, but we'll see. That's
why we'll be up late watching and talking about it tomorrow.
Roy all right, I expect to spend I expect a
lot of spending out of you for Christmas too, and
I know you're gonna getting me golf balls and probably

(24:13):
golf shirts, you know, stuff like that.

Speaker 8 (24:15):
I'm going to double what I gave you last year,
which was nothing.

Speaker 1 (24:22):
Let me back next hour and we'll talk more about
the craziness of insurance premiums when your morning show continues
next hour. All right, First things first, let's get your
top five stories of the day if you're just waking up.
A congressional report on the twenty twenty one US withdrawal
from Afghanistan has found the hesitation from the Biden administration

(24:42):
put American lives at risk. Mark Mayfield has that story.

Speaker 2 (24:45):
The three hundred and fifty four page report was released
Sunday by the Republican House Foreign Affairs Committee after a
three year investigation. Foreign Affairs Chair Michael McCollough Texas said
the administration had the opportunity to plan for the inevitable
collapse of the Afterhan govern to put an evacuation plan
into place. A terror attack during the chaotic withdrawal led
to the deaths of thirteen US service members and numerous civilians.

(25:08):
The White House called the report partisan and based on
cherry picked facts. I'm Mark Mayfield.

Speaker 1 (25:14):
This is the number two story of the day, and
yet it's like a tree falling in the forest. Does
it make us sound? I don't care. But Liz Cheney
says her dad's voting for Kamala. Lisa Taylor has more.

Speaker 6 (25:26):
The former Wyoming congresswoman and critic of Donald Trump, told
an audience Friday that the former VP for George W.
Bush supports Harris Dick.

Speaker 1 (25:34):
Cheney will be voting for Kamala Harris.

Speaker 6 (25:38):
Liz Cheney and Trump have been at odds since the
January sixth Capitol riot. Cheney says she voted for Trump
in twenty sixteen and twenty twenty, but it's called his
conduct on January sixth the betrayal. She lost her primary
election to a Trump backed opponent in twenty twenty two.
I'm Lisa Taylor.

Speaker 1 (25:54):
I'm not a rocket scientist. I'm a simple caveman, right.
You know, First of all, it's not like she just said,
George Washington has decided to vote for Kamalaiers, I mean
Dick Cheney. Don't look for him on the Republican mount Rushmore.
Obviously it cost her her political career. Obviously, out of

(26:14):
respect for her. Her father is going to vote even
if he is. We don't know, as she's just saying,
is I mean that one's right up there within then
my dad will beat your dad up, and then my
grandpa will beat your grandpa up. This is like childish.
We do have a new national poll that suggests this
race is tight, how tight? Dead even heading into the debate.
Lisa Carton with the story.

Speaker 4 (26:34):
The poll, conducted by The New York Times in Siena College,
gives a former President Trump a one point lead, forty
eight to forty seven percent over Vice President Harris. The
survey noted that's well within its margin of error, meaning
the November fifth election could go either way. It also
underscores the importance of Tuesday's televised debate. I'm Lisa Carton.

Speaker 1 (26:55):
Earlier, we had our first ever movie review by Jeffrey
Lyon on the movie Beetlejuice. Beetlejuice, it sounded like this.
It was you know, it was all right worthless, but
it was the big winner at the box office. Scott
Carr has more.

Speaker 9 (27:08):
The Juice Is Loose, the sequel to Tim Burton's nineteen
eighty eight hit comedies, projected to earn one hundred and
ten million dollars in its opening weekend, which makes it
the second biggest September movie debut of all time. Dropping
to second place is Disney's Marvel sequel Deadpool and Wolverine,
expected to haul in another's six point four million dollars
in revenue in its seventh weekend in theaters, while the

(27:31):
biopic Reagan starring Dennis Quaid holds on to third place,
and the latest thriller from A twenty four Studios, The
front Room, starring Brandy.

Speaker 3 (27:39):
Your Father's final Request Close, He wants you to take
your mother into your.

Speaker 9 (27:43):
Home, is expected to make between three and six million
dollars in its first weekend.

Speaker 1 (27:48):
I'm Scott Carr. Brazilian musician Sergio Mendez is dead at
the age of eighty three. Michael cast reports.

Speaker 10 (28:01):
TMZ reports he died in Los Angeles. He's known for
his collaborations with Herb Albert and Cannon Ball.

Speaker 1 (28:07):
Atherley.

Speaker 10 (28:08):
Mendez' band Brazil sixty six was a big part in
popularizing the genre of Boston Nova. He won one Grammy
Award to Latin Grammys and was nominated for an Oscar
for a song in the animated movie Rio. His cause
of death has not been released. I'm Michael Cass. I'm
grateful to Michael because he revealed the style of music.

(28:29):
I was once watching Lord of the Rings with my
brother in law, trying to relate to him because we.

Speaker 1 (28:34):
Don't have a lot in common. Okay, so I'm gonna
just take one for the team and sit and watch.
And I mean as about like forty minutes in and
I was just done. I just you know. So finally
I just looked into my sid Jay what kind of
movie is this? He goes, It's an epic adventure, and
I said, good, I just want to know what I hate.

(28:55):
So I'm listening to that report and I'm like, cause
that my kids call it all everything's a vie. And
I've always thought that I think of Austin Powers. Actually,
when I hear that particular song he played, but whatever
that was, it's a bad vibe for me. And now
I know that's bassa nova style music, and that's what
you dis like. That's what I wish the guy dad,
I mean, I'm sorry he's gone. Yeah, and you know

(29:17):
eighty three's relatively young, but yeah, I don't like that
kind of music. Okay, it seems like a cheesy scene
in Animal House. NFL Bill's thirty four to twenty eight
beat the cad No, sorry, Phoenix Titans. I don't know
why we think we can go into a third decade
without a quarterback and get a different result. I think
that's the definition of insanity. Bears came back to win
twenty four to seventeen because the Titans don't have a quarterback.

(29:39):
Seahawks twenty six twenty over the Broncos. Cowboys beat the
Browns thirty three seventeen, and the Buccaneers impressive they were
playing the Commanders, but impressive thirty seven to twenty. Monday
Night Football Tonight is Aaron Rodgers and Brock Purty. It'll
be the Jets versus the forty nine Ers seven fifteenth
Central a loss. Of course, you got Direct TV like me,

(30:01):
you won't see anything. The mouse bucked us. You got mickeyed.

Speaker 2 (30:08):
This is James from Greenwood, South Carolina, and my morning
show is your morning show with Michael Dozorna.

Speaker 1 (30:14):
I feel like being a talk show guy. One eight
hundred and six eight eight ninety five, twenty two. How
long are the Tennessee Titans going to try to compete
in the National Football League without a superstar quarterback? Huh,
I'm not already. One eight hundred six eight eight ninety five,
twenty two. And stop with your kids playing soccer. We
need some tennis players, and we need some names we

(30:34):
can pronounce. For crying out law, we lost again at
the US Open. One eight hundred and six eight eight
ninety five, twenty two. Talk show radio guy, thanks for
waking up with your morning show. And Michael del Jorno. At
fifty two minutes after the hour, we're joined by John Decker.
Johnny went on and on Friday about the resurgence of
the Americans, and then we headed to the US Opening.
Came up just a little shortened both.

Speaker 11 (30:55):
A little short.

Speaker 5 (30:56):
Twenty twenty four?

Speaker 11 (30:57):
Was it our year? Twenty twenty five?

Speaker 5 (31:00):
We can win a Grand Slam on the men's side,
and then we've done that as recently as last year
on the women's side, when Cocoa goth won the US Open.
Was it meant to be in twenty twenty four, Yonick center,
number one player in the world. I was at that match,
wins in straight sets over American Taylor Fritz valiant effort,
But wasn't meant to be this year?

Speaker 1 (31:20):
Yeah, Usually the wages of sin is death, not victory.
Sinner with the win, us with two losses. All right,
let's talk about this debate. We've been all been trying
to cut this piece of pie in some unique way.
We all presume this is the only presidential debate we're
going to get. We kind of assume there's not going
to be any other kind of crazy surprises coming that

(31:42):
would suggest that if there is somebody out there still undecided,
and if they're just a little bit not sure of
Kamala Harris, there's a lot riding on this debate for her.

Speaker 5 (31:53):
Tonight, huge amount riding on this debate tomorrow night in Philadelphia.

Speaker 11 (31:58):
And the reason being is because you know, you look
at Paul after Paul, there's about five percent pretty sizable
a number of people who haven't made up their minds
whether they're going to vote for Donald Trump or Kamala Harris.

Speaker 5 (32:10):
So for her Tomorrow night, she needs to prove that
a she can go toe to toe with Donald Trump.
That's sometimes difficult, and B she has to show these
undecided voters they can see her as the next commander
in chief. Pass that test tomorrow night, So lots at stake.
They'll be talking about, as you can imagine, Michael, domestic issues,

(32:31):
domestic policy, economics, jobs, the economy, inflation, border security, and
foreign policy as well talking about the wars in Ukraine
and also the Middle East.

Speaker 1 (32:41):
Listen, if we were in class, by all means, you
should copy off of John. He is the smart one.
I'm going to use a little bit more street smarts
and looking at this. So what happened with Joe, Well,
the perception was from a good portion of America Joe
really wasn't running the presidency, that Joe was senile, that
he wasn't all there, and then he comes out in
a debate and looks that way. That was negative for

(33:04):
Kamala Harris. The perception is she has no depth, no substance.
If you start talking about issues she can give you,
you know, whimsical words to nowhere. But she can't explain
a position and an issue. Clearly, you might even get
a word salad, you might even get a crazy laugh,
and you might even get somebody that turns very prosecutorial

(33:26):
and kind of nasty. So any glimpses of that is
clearly what she needs to avoid, Right, it's that simple.
That's her don'ts.

Speaker 11 (33:35):
That's that's her don'ts.

Speaker 5 (33:36):
You're right, and that's what But if that's her leave well,
you know, I mean, if she if she avoids all
of the things that you're saying, which is certainly possible.
She's a very capable person, very bright person. If she's
if she avoids all of those don'ts that you just
talked about, that's passing the test. That's convincing those undecided voters. Okay,

(33:58):
she isn't you know the way she's been agricature to
be by some in the media. She's capable of doing
this job. I feel comfortable with her if she's the
next president.

Speaker 1 (34:07):
And you and I were fair. She was fantastic with
that teleprompture at the convention. She was awful, and how
long she made us wait, and how they both performed
in that interview, she'd better find her way back to
the one at the convention. We're down to fifteen seconds.
What are the don'ts for Donald Trump? In your mind?

Speaker 5 (34:26):
The biggest don't and I can't stress this enough, and
I'm not the only one who said this, and that
is avoid personal attacks. Republicans have said to Donald Trump,
stick to the issues, stick to policy. They believe they
have policy on their side, stick to all of that.
If you get into personal attacks, you're going to turn
off those undecided voters and you're not going to have

(34:47):
a good debate. So that would be the biggest dont
for Donald Trump.

Speaker 11 (34:50):
Tomorrow night.

Speaker 1 (34:51):
We're all in this together. This is your morning show
with Michael Hill, and show enough
