Here's what you missed TV, the entertainment world and whatever.
You can tell with this being radio that some of
these stories do make me shake my head.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
I'm sure you can like this story. A community in Florida,
and that's where I dis miss and.
Speaker 5 (02:55):
Just chalk it up to Florida again being terrorized by
a man who throws groceries through the windows of homes,
including meat and canned corn. Your neighbors talking about allegedly
being terrorized by ERT's Ernest saint Ville. We threw it
back in his yard a couple of times, and he
(03:16):
drew it back up.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
I called the lady who lives there because she.
Speaker 3 (03:21):
Lives in Canada, to explain that had a passed her
house again. We just quit five hundred dollars into repairing it,
and the next week we threw stuff through the windows again.
Speaker 5 (03:33):
Some day, who's going to hurt somebody's senior citizens?
Speaker 3 (03:37):
And we're afraid to walk down our own street.
Speaker 5 (03:39):
Not to mention, groceries are pretty expensive, begging the question.
Speaker 1 (03:45):
Who throws his shoe. Honestly, I think.
Speaker 5 (03:51):
It started with the shoe and is now escalated to
kansa corn. It's a local reporter man throwing a can
of corn at his neighbor's house. Do we just chunk
it up the floor to shrugger shoulders and.
Speaker 1 (04:02):
Move on today? I guess we can't. I guess we can't.
Speaker 5 (04:07):
Mother's Day rapidly approaching. Wake up and win trivia this morning?
My question one hundred and twenty two million phone calls
will happen on Mother's Day. Don't forget to talk to mom.
Speaker 1 (04:20):
Hopefully you do it more than just Mother's Day and
or Birthday. I know you do.
Speaker 5 (04:25):

But my question of the day today is we're going

gift cards to simply made all seasons, QW Wellness, A
couple more options here winning on the way. Next chance
to win it be about seven forty on XL thirty three.
(04:46):
We only have so much time and money. You spend
a lot of time and money on certain things. If
only add all that money back, you don't want to
know how much you've spent, but most importantly, have no regrets.
Maybe it's a vacation, maybe it's a hobby. Maybe you're
hard into following a sports team. I had to use
my example from last night. Following the Winnipeg Jets professional
(05:10):
ice hockey team for basically all my life and never
have they made it to the championship known as the
Stanley Cup. All hope was just about lost last night,
two goals in the final two minutes and a double
overtime win, extending the season.
Speaker 1 (05:25):
I mean, that's just round one of the playoffs. It's
a long way to go yet.
Speaker 5 (05:28):
But it spent a lot of money going up to games,
a lot of time watching eighty two game regular season.
But I don't care. I'm fine with that. I want
you to share something you've spent a lot of time
and money on with no regrets. Maybe you like to travel.
I'm really impressed with people who can get around the
(05:49):
world and travel. I mean, I love to travel too,
but there's only so many days. You've got kids, you've
got pat You've got to account for all.
Speaker 1 (05:57):
Of them, and where are you going to leave them.
Speaker 5 (06:00):
I'm sure you take your pets and kids sometimes with
you on vacation. Maybe all the time you take your
kids and pats on vacation, but it's difficult and you
only have so many vacation days.
Speaker 1 (06:11):
Share something you've spent a lot of time, a lot
of money on with no regrets. That's my question of
the day today.
Speaker 5 (06:16):
Seven to one, seven four six ninety three ninety three.
Let's visit together about half an hour next shot to
win something for mom.
Speaker 1 (06:25):

Speaker 5 (07:15):
You've spent a lot of time and money on your
life with no regrets. My dog he's Oh the puppies,
I forgot about that answer?
Speaker 1 (07:23):
How can I forget about?
Speaker 3 (07:24):
Who know?
Speaker 1 (07:25):
I know?
Speaker 5 (07:27):
Oh? I wish I had insurance for my puppy and
not me from how much money I've spent at the
vet over the years. But and not to mention, I mean,
never mind all the bad stuff, all the treats and
the toys and the I don't know if your your
one dog is like eight dog beds like mine does.
Speaker 3 (07:46):
Yes, yes she does. In fact, I just bought another
one over the weekend.

El N three Hi for a lot more than seven
years of I've spent lots of time, lots of money
following my favorite and we all follow our favorite sports teams.
Speaker 1 (09:04):
Maybe you're a you're answering me. Concerts.
Speaker 5 (09:10):
It's blown my mind for a lot of years how
expensive concerts are and how people can afford.
Speaker 1 (09:14):
To be at some of these concerts.
Speaker 5 (09:21):
And there's like, there's people who saw Taylor Sports six times.
You don't you remember how expensive those concerts our tickets were.
It's expensive to go to anything. You can go to
a Minnesota Wild game, Twins game, Flykings game. It's a
five hundred dollars weekend easy with tickets to the event.
Concession Hotel meals gas to them from it if you
(09:46):
do a little shopping. And that's the close to home
one in Minneapolis, Winnipeg, the easy drives. Never mind people
who fly to some of these events. You U and
die hockey fans know what I speak of. The Destination
Games was the last national championship that was in Tampa,
(10:06):
right and I think about fifty grand forks was down
there for that, which is awesome. It's a lot of time,
it's a lot of money, but you have no regrets.
Share something you have spent a lot of time and
money on with no regrets. That's my question as you
were today, not ety three dollars gift card from mom.
Speaker 1 (10:25):
We're going to do? We have qw wllness. We have simply.
Speaker 5 (10:32):

Sorry up a little later than I than.
Speaker 5 (10:40):
I normally am last night spending I guess no money yesterday,
but more time watching my professional hockey team keep me
up two hours later than I expected them to.
Speaker 1 (10:50):
But long run, they get the victory.
Speaker 5 (10:53):
It was well worth being tired today, but not too
tired to tell you guys. Both to seeking of my
own coming up, we'll just choose yourn adventure winning in
about twenty minutes.
Speaker 1 (11:02):
Next chance to win, I think we'll do a Mother's.
Speaker 5 (11:05):
Day type game. I'll put some sort of game together.
Let's choose a gift.
Speaker 1 (11:11):
Card for Mom. Keep in mind these are for mom
Mother's Day six sleeps away.
Speaker 5 (11:15):
We're gonna try to take care as many of as
many mothers as possible this week.
Speaker 1 (11:19):
But some winning just for answering the question of the
day today.
Speaker 5 (11:23):
Share something you've spent a lot of time slash money
on with no regrets.
Speaker 2 (11:28):
I'm not trending testagg trending on Excel nighty three.
Speaker 5 (11:34):
Sorry, little glitch in the matrix there. Trending is sinking
to mile today? Are you ready to celebrate what it's
all about?
Speaker 1 (11:41):
Even if you don't know what it's truly all about?
Speaker 5 (11:47):
If you haven't taken Spanish in school, it translates to
the fifth of May. Let's baby step this year. You've
heard of it, but do you know what it celebrates?
New poll results, thirty nine percent of Americans say it's
Mexic in a Independence day, twenty six percent state it's
the celebration of Mexican American culture. Thirteen percent they're just
a fun excuse to drink, and another thirteen percent admits
(12:09):
no clue. At least they're admitting they don't know. None
of those things are correct. By the way, everything I listed,
just ten percent of people know the correct answer. Sinco
to Mile actually commemorates the Mexican victory over the French
at the Battle of Pueblo, in which took place May fifth,
eighteen sixty two, some one hundred and sixty three years ago.
(12:31):
There's a history lesson. The battle itself was not a
major strategic win, and the French took control of Mexico
two years later, but it was a major morale boost
for the Mexican resistance.
Speaker 1 (12:41):
And it helped them gain an alliance with the.
Speaker 5 (12:42):
Americans to eventually force the French to withdraw. Now, historians
believe the French would have backed the Confederacy during the
American's Civil War, so Mexico's resistance likely changed the history
of the United States all right Back to the poll.
Back to the poll, seventy percent of Americans find to
sell lebrate sink of a myo. Most plan to do
it by well, what else would we do? Eat Mexican food,
(13:06):
drink margarita's, or maybe sip on a dough seche's any
Mexican beer. Twenty percent say they will celebrate Mexican culture,
fourteen percent say we'll have a house party. It's Monday
on my calendar, last site Jack, eight percent we'll read
up on Mexican history, and eight percent say they'll go
club in or barhop it jay I guess celebrate sinking

Speaker 1 (14:02):
Friends is trending.
Speaker 2 (14:05):
Bet you didn't know random facts coming at you now
excel ntty.
Speaker 5 (14:10):
Three random facts brought to us by the Blue Moves
Bar and Grill Thing. Five dollars off your favorite burger
every Monday starting at five, and don't forget.
Speaker 1 (14:21):
The Blue Moose. Maybe Mom Mother's Day.
Speaker 5 (14:23):
Nice little get together for a brunch at the Blue
Moose in these grand forks that you didn't know. Let's
go away back in music. Let's go back in time
right now. Hallo Oates heard of the name Hollo Oaates
met when they were both at a concert in Philadelphia
and a gang fight brocouts. They hopped in the same
(14:46):
elevator to get away from gunshots. Found out they both
went to Temple University and became friends. Interesting could be
a fun question. Weirdest ways she became friends with somebody
the right down one? Now random facts, Betch, you didn't
know this? About two pounds of chromosomol in your of
(15:08):
DNA in your body, two pounds worth Chris Barley like
just some movies you just can't imagine any other way,
Betch didn't know. Chris Barley was originally supposed to star
as the Amish Bowler and Kingpin, but he couldn't do
it because he was contractually obligated to do. Bank sheep.
(15:28):
It's the roll wound up going to Randy Quaid. All right,
let's get this one out of the way. Betch didn't
know roughly four point five trillion cigarette butts are littered
every year, making them the most littered item on the planet.
Most cigarette butts contain filters, which you're made of non
(15:48):
biodegradable plastic, and contain toxic chemicals that leach into the
soil and water.
Speaker 1 (15:54):
But they are the most littered autumn every year.
Speaker 5 (15:57):
I guess it was plastic water bottles.
Speaker 1 (16:00):
And finally, Betch didn't know.
Speaker 5 (16:02):
Those deadly mosquitoes have killed more people than all of
the wars in history combines by infecting tens of billions
of people with diseases, mosquitoes more deadly than war, and
sad to say, I did see.
Speaker 1 (16:14):
One over the weekend. There was a little baby, but
he indeed was a mosquito.
Speaker 5 (16:21):
Are coming, But hey, warm weather's here now, you know,
Excel ninety three.
Speaker 1 (16:27):
Well, good morning, Well who is this glory? Glory?
Speaker 5 (16:37):
I want you to share something you've spent a lot
of time and money on with no regrets, my example
being my Winnipeg Jets hockey team who wasn't yet to
win the Stanley cop And it was like a Disney
movie last night.
Speaker 1 (16:52):
You know, I have to say my drinking, they cost
you too much money.
Speaker 4 (16:56):
I have no regrets.
Speaker 3 (16:58):
I'm spending money on them.
Speaker 1 (17:00):
So is it birthdays? Holidays? Days that ended? Why? If
that's something they need, absolutely the Scramm is going to
get it for them.
Speaker 5 (17:12):
Do you play the Grammar rule where you just try
to load them up with sugar and send them home?
Speaker 1 (17:17):
No, no, no, they're getting to old for that.
Speaker 5 (17:20):
I don't think you're ever too old to enjoy sugary
sweet trees. Well, yeah, true, but I don't want to
overdo it total. I know it's not tangent Tuesday, but
Saturday I was doing yard work, cleaning the garage. I
had ice cream on my mind. My mind was on
ice cream and ice cream on my mind, and I
swore multiple times I heard the ice cream truck ball
(17:43):
and I was pleased.
Speaker 1 (17:45):
I was very relieved.
Speaker 5 (17:47):
When my wife got home and said that she also
heard it too, So it wasn't just bells going off
in my head. I know, but that's We're never too
old to enjoy sweet treats.
Speaker 1 (17:57):
Is the whole point of my tangent exactly exactly spoil it,
either spoil.
Speaker 5 (18:04):
Them Mother's Day. I don't know if Mother's Day's taken

Speaker 1 (18:21):
Maybe you want to spoil your grandkids. I don't know.
Talk to me, Laurie. You didn't have the off season
for then, did you. That's later?
Speaker 3 (18:28):
Okay, I'll do the Northern Air.
Speaker 1 (18:31):
That sounds good. Yeah, laser tag it up.
Speaker 5 (18:35):
Maybe there's Ninja stars acts throwing so many activities, the
amazing go carts. Enjoy Northern Air, Lauri and tell me

Speaker 1 (18:50):
Let me put it this way. You're Monday morning, more

Speaker 5 (18:55):
Now, when you're driving on a major interstate and you
miss your exit, to do you a keep driving and
get off the next one, or b come to a
complete stop in the road, cause a crash and then
drive away.
Speaker 1 (19:08):
There's a right answer here.
Speaker 5 (19:11):
The Ohio Department of Transportation is posted video from last
week of a red van coming to a complete stomp
on an interstate after apparently missing their raxit. They seem
to be waiting for the right lanes to clear so
they can make a last second right turn to crossover
and go.
Speaker 1 (19:27):
Back to it.
Speaker 5 (19:29):
In the meantime, a couple of cars stop behind them,
and then a van slams into those cars, causing a
multi car pile up. The original red van was mostly spared.
They surely sun heard the crash, but made the turn
down the exit and drove away anyway. Now the good
news here is it doesn't sound like anyone was seriously
(19:50):
seriously injured to the driver of the red van hasn't
been identified, but the police are trying to figure out
who they are as they can be sited and charged.

Good day, Good good morning, brook Burns.
Speaker 5 (22:19):
New host of Tic Tac Toe on the Game Show Network.

It seems you just touch things they turned to gold.
Speaker 3 (22:55):
Just going down the whole list and making me feel
real over there, I'm getting.
Speaker 5 (23:00):
Well, I remember all this stuff too, So you're not
the old one in the room right.
Speaker 3 (23:05):
Now, exactly, exactly.
Speaker 1 (23:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (23:10):
I can't believe it actually, growing up in Texas, I
never thought that I would be in entertainment or much
less be out here doing this for over twenty years.
It's pretty incredible.
Speaker 5 (23:20):
So do you, I mean, going way back to the
early days some of the credits I mentioned before, Is
there anyone you still like made a best connection with.
Do you have a favorite moment of the past couple decades?
My favorite?
Speaker 3 (23:35):
No, Yeah, good question. I always like to say it's
sort of like having multiple children. You love each one
for its own unique things, and they represent a different
time period in your life, you know, just like Baywatch
getting paid to go to the beach in that decade
when it was really like thirty five percent of all
(23:56):
airtime in Belgium, like that was a very Forrmon. It's
very formative years in my life. And to be on
the set of a show like that and then get
to move to Hawaii and live there, they're great memories.
Speaker 1 (24:08):
That's a tough work, yeah, for sure.
Speaker 3 (24:11):
Yeah, But now hosting game shows like it. It's such
a good fit for me now in my forties, being
a mom and everything, to be able to go work
hard for a month and then have a little bit
of time off, you know, because we shoot six shows
a day and kind of bang them out.
Speaker 5 (24:26):
I was going to ask, how many shows in one
sitting and one day do you shoot, because obviously it's
not thirty minutes of work and you're.
Speaker 1 (24:32):
Home for the night, right.
Speaker 3 (24:35):
No. Yeah, And we did five a day. On the
Chase that was a little bit more complicated Masterminds. You know,
we had six people on stage with us, so there
are a couple of pickups and what have you. But
with Tic Tech Dough, we ended up doing six shows
a day. It's me and two contestants playing the childhood
game t tech po plus some trivia and the ability
to take home ten thousand dollars.
Speaker 5 (24:57):
Brook Burns, host of Tic Tac Dough on Game Show Network.
There's not a person in the world I think you
can mentioned Baywatch too, who doesn't know what Baywatch is.
But I'm really super jealous that you're a game show host.
I have got I would say three four dozen Hawaiian
shirts at home. I'm sure it takes more than that.
Speaker 1 (25:16):
How does it happen on either show?
Speaker 3 (25:19):
Right?
Speaker 1 (25:20):
Any show?
Speaker 2 (25:22):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (25:22):
I think the game show hosting and people who work
in radio, you know, this a very similar It's a
very similar thing what you do. You're hosting people, You're
making them feel comfortable, you're having fun, you're facilitating a
good time, right.
Speaker 5 (25:36):
Except you've got to take the radio face and put
it on TV, which why it doesn't I guess work
out for a lot of us. We're not all Ryan Seacrest.
So six episodes a day. Give us the premise of
Tic Tac Toe again in about thirty seconds if you can.
And I want to know also for us who watch
(25:58):
it home, is it really that hard to get on
the show. Do we need to pay our own expenses
to get somewhere to get on the Show's not hard.
Speaker 3 (26:06):
To get on the show. They have casting calls, you know,
if you go online Game show Network dot com. Depending
on when we're shooting, when our season is shooting and stuff,
they will have you go through a little bit of
a trivia test and then you know, probably a video
tests to make sure that you have some sort of
personality that'll be fun to watch on TV, and then
(26:28):
it really comes down to the numbers. I like it
when there's a mix of sort of game show contestant
ficinados that have been on them, you know, for the
last twenty years and just love doing it. And then
you have those first timers who have never done it
before and they're, you know, it's all new to them,
so being on a stage with the lights and the
cameras and all of that is something unique or maybe
(26:49):
on their bucket list, and you're you know, helping to
facilitate that experience for them. And yeah, it's I don't
think it's hard at all. In fact, on this one
is I like to say that the trivia is a
little bit more universal. You know, you're not going up
against be steam like in the Chase, you're not going
up against the masterminds, so it's not as intimidating and a.
Speaker 1 (27:07):
Lot more fun.
Speaker 3 (27:08):
And you know, we even did a Taylor Swift themed show,
so my eight year old was killing it on that.
Speaker 1 (27:14):
Oh nice.
Speaker 5 (27:15):
So what you're saying is I'm just not putting enough
effort into not getting on a game shows.
Speaker 1 (27:21):
How you're politely saying.
Speaker 5 (27:22):
This today, they can happen, Brooke Burns, I have so
many more questions.
Speaker 1 (27:28):
I want to throw a Hallmark question at you.
Speaker 5 (27:30):
But my wife, I think, has seen every Hallmark movie
three four, five times. I wonder, first of all, where
a Hallmark town even is and why the security is
so relax at the airport where it seems like somebody
can run through customs and find whoever whommever they need
to find basically immediately before they get on the plane.
Speaker 1 (27:49):
It seems to work out every time.
Speaker 3 (27:52):
Oh my gosh, I know, I've never really understood that
either they have too much time on their hands.
Speaker 5 (27:56):
I think at Hallmark World or City, you don't have
to get to the airport three hours early.
Speaker 1 (28:02):
I guess, yeah, exactly.
Speaker 3 (28:05):
Well, I love it's what you what you just said
about your wife. That's why I love. Also working for Hallmark.
You can just watch them over and over and over again.
But they're they're so sweet and they're so fun and
feel good that you know, it is sort of like
almost becomes a family tradition to watch the Christmas ones
around Christmas time and or July the teak well like
(28:27):
Formete Detective.
Speaker 2 (28:28):
And all that.
Speaker 5 (28:29):
Brook Burns, new host of Tic Tac Doe, all of
the other credits to from Baywatch to Hallmark and so
much more to come. I look forward to watching more
Tic Tac Doe and auditioning to be on a game show.
I'll set the borrow more than Yeah, you can.
Speaker 3 (28:44):
Find so network five days a week that be a.
Speaker 5 (28:47):
Pacific brook Burns Tic Tac Dough And it's been a
pleasure and I wish you the best of days.
Speaker 1 (28:52):

Speaker 5 (29:19):
Do that too, Jim, I want you to answer my
question of the day before we get into it here today.
I want you to share something you've spent a lot
of time slash money on with no regrets. My examples
following the Winnipeg Jats for all of my life and
after a dramatic win yesterday, I've still never seen them
(29:41):
win a championship on TV or in person, but lots
of time and money.
Speaker 1 (29:45):
Has been invested a liquor store. The liquor store. Isn't
that the truth?
Speaker 5 (29:53):
Well, we have like twenty years of earlier retirement if
we No, I don't know. I didn't swing through Happy
Harry's every Friday.
Speaker 2 (30:00):
Yeah, probably, but.
Speaker 5 (30:02):
All the good times. You're here for a good time,
not a long time, as I just came up. All right, Jim,
are you ready for multiple Mother's Day?
Speaker 1 (30:15):
Multiple guests? Madness on a Monday? What are we? What
are we going for here? Dinner in a movie? Option
for mom?
Speaker 5 (30:22):
All seasons, QW, massage and spokey W wellness or simply made.
Speaker 1 (30:27):
We'll go all seasons?
Speaker 5 (30:29):
All right, Jim? There we go, multiple guests. When is
Mother's Day celebrated in the United States? Is it's a
the second Sunday in May, be the fourth Sunday of
Lent see the first Sunday in June or d the
last Sunday in July?
Speaker 1 (30:46):
That is right.
Speaker 5 (30:47):
We started to be off with an easy one.
Speaker 1 (30:51):
Okay, Question two? Who's the founder of Mother's Day in
the United States?
Speaker 5 (30:54):
Is it Anna Jarvis, Susan b Anthony, Julia Ward Howe or.
Speaker 1 (31:02):
Bruce Willis Again, it is a Anna Jarvis. Wow, I
don't know.
Speaker 5 (31:11):
There was a tough one, because you think, oh, Bruce
Willis has done a lot of great things for this world.
Speaker 1 (31:15):
It could have been it could have been John McClain,
but it wasn't.
Speaker 5 (31:18):
Let's see if you can do it three for three,
playing for some all seasons gardening here.
Speaker 1 (31:22):
What is the most popular flower for Mother's Day? Is it? Eight?
Speaker 5 (31:25):
Carnations B roses see Lilli's or D sunflowers.
Speaker 1 (31:33):

Speaker 1 (32:02):
Oh we're falling apart here. Let's say you need this
one for the win, Jim. Heay, true or false?
Speaker 5 (32:09):
Mother's Day is the busiest day of the year for restaurants.
Speaker 1 (32:15):
I go it fall. You're going false.
Speaker 2 (32:19):

Speaker 5 (32:31):
Let's go true, Jim, you totally redeemed yourself and I've

One more thing on XCEL ninety three fun more well.
Speaker 5 (33:03):
TSA has been warning everyone that they need to get
a real ID for years now, and this time they
are serious. The TSA says, if you don't have a
real ID by Wednesday, you better get to the airport
at least get this three hours early, because you'll be
subject to delays and additional screening, and even then you
(33:23):
might not be cleared to fly. A real ID. Driver's
license is a star on the top right corner. It
shows you've verified your identity with additional documents.
Speaker 1 (33:34):
Now starting Wednesday.
Speaker 5 (33:35):
Starting Wednesday, a regular old driver's license will no longer
be enough to board a flight. If you don't have
a real ID, you need a US Passport, Global Entry
or NEXUS A permanent resident card, a border crossing card,
a foreign government issued passport, or a veteran health ID card.
And if you don't have one of those, get to
(33:57):
the airport as certainly as you can and bring as
many IDs with your photos you can. And if you
aren't flying until the summer, arranged to get a real ideasap.
So here's the deal on the real id's too. If
you're not flying somewhere immediately.
Speaker 1 (34:10):
I wouldn't go this week.
Speaker 5 (34:11):
There's a lot of people panicing to get it done
by wednesday, and there are access lines. It's got to
take you more time. Just put it off a couple
of weeks. You'll be fine. It's not you can't leave
your house if you don't have a real ID by Wednesday.
But TSA says you don't have a real ID by
this Wednesday, you better get to the airport at least
three hours early because you'll be subject to delays and
(34:34):
additional screening. Trying to help you out, guys, let's get
to you a thousand dollars, maybe book of flights, a book,
a summer vacation, do whatever you want. If your new
found fun money, it's going pay bills. But I'm not
going to check. It's brought to us by skydancwer. You

Speaker 5 (35:08):
Thanks so lady three done count the charty page. We'll
get into it together next. Speaking of Sinco to Maya,
before we gets to your news, I've set up this
old film projector.
Speaker 4 (35:17):
Instructional Films presents Stinco de Mayo, remembering Mexico's resistance to
French rule on May fifth, eighteen sixty two. Well, holiday
is virtually ignored in Mexico, but thanks to slick marketing campaigns,
it's a hit in the US. Look, there's the board
of directors for the beer companies laughing all the way
(35:40):
to the bank. And there's Jeff who drank too many
surveyss and tried to drive home. He got pulled over
by the Police Sinco de Mayo because Saint Patrick's Day
was almost two months ago.
Speaker 2 (35:56):
Hey, you've got to drive your kids to school before
the truancy officer comes after you.
