In this episode, Jordan and DJ discuss the small things that bring them joy. DJ got a new cup that she’s really excited about and Jordan loves to ride the subway alone. The sun has come out and it has raised both of their spirits as well!
In the news, DJ and Jordan react to Steph Curry getting the Assistant General Manager Role at Davidson. DJ thinks it’s an indication of his impending retirement and Jordan thinks it’s just a glamor title. DJ also shares her excitement for the announcement of “The Real SC” series that will occur between the University of South Carolina and the University of Southern California women’s basketball. They are slated for the next two years which means we get to see Juju Watkins and Milaysia Fulwiley head to head for two years! To wrap up the news, Jordan sounds off on Justin Field’s new NFL contract.
In the two-minute drill, DJ kicks off a conversation about women’s college basketball bracketology. Her dream elite 8 would be South Carolina, UConn, USC, Notre Dame, Duke, NC State, LSU, and UCLA. Jordan shares that his dream championship game would be either South Carolina and UConn or South Carolina and USC. They discuss the potential changes in the rankings with Selection Sunday fast approaching. DJ believes that South Carolina will take the number one seed even with UCLA currently holding it. DJ and Jordan agreed that they would be happy with either UConn or South Carolina hoisting up the trophy in the end.
For the pregame power sweep, we discuss Big 12 Football. DJ and Jordan share the sentiment that this may be the conference that they watch the least but there is a small group of teams to watch. Kansas State, BYU, Arizona State, and Iowa State were mentioned as the teams to keep an eye on throughout the season. DJ picks for games to watch were: Arizona State - Utah, BYU-Colorado, BYU - Iowa State, Kansas - Kansas State, and Kansas - Iowa State. Jordan’s picks were: Iowa State - Kansas State, ASU-Colorado, ASU - ISU, Utah - BYU, and WVU - Kansas.
In the two-minute warning, DJ shares information about the upcoming WNBA Draft on April 14. Jordan expresses his concerns about the recent news about Southwest Airlines eliminating free checked baggage.
