It has been a little while since our last mailbag episode, and with the full gang in studio today, we’re answering YOUR QUESTIONS! PHLY Flyers' Charlie O'Connor was on the scene in Voorhees, NJ to report on the latest at Flyers practice after their back-to-back games versus the Dallas Stars and Blues this weekend. Rasmus Ristolainen and Oliver Bonk were spotted on the ice today at the Flyers Training Facility for a chippy practice, and Rick Tocchet comments on the battles he saw from the team today coming off their underwhelming defeat to Dallas.

The Philadelphia Flyers were thoroughly outclassed for much of the first two periods of the game, but Dan Vladar continuing his early-season Vezina chase, and Matvei Michkov scoring on the power play gave the Orange & Black a chance and it seemed like Travis Konecny won it but an offside review took away the winner and Edmonton netted the winner in OT.

All the talk on social media this weekend was about the perceived criticism by Philadelphia Flyers captain Sean Couturier directed towards Matvei Michkov in Saturday’s postgame scrum. Coots mentioned Michkov “playing the right way” and it benefitting the team, seemingly complimenting the 20-year-old sophomore, but many Flyers fans took it as a shot at the franchise’s future cornerstone.

After another slow start for the Philadelphia Flyers that saw the home team fall down 2-0, the Orange & Black fought back to take complete control of the second half of the game, tying it on goals from Matvei Michkov and Jamie Drysdale to force overtime, while allowing only one shot on goal for the final 28 minutes of regulation.

It was an optional practice today at Voorhees for the Philadelphia Flyers, and PHLY Sports' very own Charlie O'Connor was on the scene to report on the latest. Aleksei Kolosov was sent down to the AHL in lieu of Sam Ersson returning to the roster after missing the last few games, and Tyson Foerster was spotted skating on the ice today before practice, signaling a return is near.

The puck dropped on the NHL season on October 7th. One month later, the Philadelphia Flyers are in an Eastern Conference playoff spot! Dan Vladar has been mostly very good, Trevor Zegras looks like a star, Cam York, Noah Cates, Bobby Brink and Tyson Foerster (prior to the injury) all look like they’re taking steps in their careers, and pretty much all is well for Rick Tocchet’s squad. Except for the Matvei Michkov of it all. Philly...

The game started out as a shooting gallery in Philadelphia’s end, with only Dan Vladar seemingly awake for the first 15 minutes or so of the first period. Vladar surrendered one that ping-ponged off 2 men in front, but was the sole reason the Flyers were in the game.

From there, Matvei Michkov and Noah Cates tallied goals and the Flyers earned a hard-fought victory.

Trevor Zegras has been a revelation to start his first season in Philadelphia, leading the team in assists, points and power play points through the team’s first 13 games. The Flyers power play, thanks largely to the addition of Zegras, is over 20% and looks greatly improved from the group that has run under 14% in the previous 4 seasons.

What a wild freakin’ game. The Philadelphia Flyers opened up a 3-0 lead in the first period, getting 2 points from Bobby Brink, Trevor Zegras and Cam York. And then they gave up 4 in the second, only for Nikita Grebenkin to tie the game and force overtime in the 3rd.

The Flyers won in a shootout thanks to Dan Vladar and the magic of Zegras, and that was ridiculous.

What a slog of a game. After a 3-shot first period for the Philadelphia Flyers, things didn’t get much better over the following 40 minutes, and the Flyers dropped a home game to the NHL’s last place Calgary Flames.

Well, things were going so well, it was bound to come back around. The Maple Leafs came into Philadelphia while most of Toronto is watching Game 7 of the World Series and out-classed the Philadelphia Flyers. Auston Matthews, Easton Cowan and Nicholas Robertson all scored on absolute seeds, and Dan Vladar was relieved by Aleksei Kolosov after surrendering 4 goals.
