I am Joe g to my right place, back in
his rightful spot on the wrong spot on the right
is Heernandez Brito Voice of the Calves and the Browns
and the Guardians. Aren't you the first one? Somebody sent
me this article of you from Crane's Business, where you're
the first broadcaster to do all three in the same season.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
Correct.

Speaker 5 (02:23):
I don't want to say I put my money in it,
but I don't know who else would have done that.

Speaker 4 (02:28):
It was in Crane's Business. It was an article.

Speaker 5 (02:30):
No I know, I because I told himself I have
to reach I have to find out.

Speaker 4 (02:34):
I can't think of anyone.

Speaker 5 (02:35):
But I can't think of anybody that did the Calves
for example.

Speaker 4 (02:40):
That's I'm saying. I can't think of a portal long.
The only other person I could think of who possibly
might have that is Mike Snider, our own Mike Snyder.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
That was delicious.

Speaker 4 (02:50):
He might be the only other guy who And I
gotta ask him.

Speaker 5 (02:53):
Yeah, if he what's the first one, I would be
even more cool.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
It'd be cooler for me. It would be.

Speaker 5 (03:00):
Something that mister Mike Snyder has done the Voice of Cleveland.

Speaker 4 (03:03):
Right exactly and right now we are celebrating.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
Victory Monday.

Speaker 4 (03:10):
It's victory Monday. And on the way here, I listened
to the radio and brown Fans misery. There's miserable today
as there after.

Speaker 5 (03:19):
I'm telling you I think and you know, I worked
with the NFL, you know, doing the Spanish broadcast for
the National Feast for thirteen years, and so I have
my experience with fans all over the the country for
at least, yes, even even in the when the games
in Europe and everything. But I think Brown's fans are

(03:40):
kind of like the Red Sox fans before the the
course of the Vanbino recycled itself right right, because for
so long the Red Sox fans were just so used
to misery and heartbreak and just like.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
It didn't matter.

Speaker 5 (03:58):
The Red Sox were up three with with just three
out or one out to go, they they're in their heads.
They were wondering like, Okay, how are we going to
get our hearts broken at this time? How are we
gonna look? And I told you the story my first
ever Browns game here in Cleveland, and they were up
a touch, then they were up ten.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
Points against the Ram.

Speaker 5 (04:17):
There's a newis Rams at the time, and everybody was mad,
and I said, dude, you're winning, and and my friends said, yeah,
watch it, they're gonna blow it and second half, so
now now they are problem and they did and they did.
So I think a lot of it is invokee right
and we And I say we because obviously I'm part
of the I'm part of the team. And we finally
have a team that has a defense that you can

(04:39):
actually write home about it, and and and and lead
you in all of the things they can do. And
now we're formed to two big wins, unexpected wins against
an undefeated four nine ers and against the cold after
the Shaun Watson went down and everything. And they're still
still trying to find ways to to to figure out

(05:00):
why is the fans should be fired, or why they
should make this call, or why they should have made
this other call.

Speaker 4 (05:05):
It's unreal to me. It's I think it's you. You
bring up the excellent point. It's Stockholm syndrome. It's that
we're so used to being beat and don't have to
enjoy the win, right that you just expected now you expect.
The big talk in Cleveland now is how the refs
didn't didn't screw the Browns because they're so used to

(05:25):
being mad on Monday morning about being screwed by the
rest that.

Speaker 5 (05:29):
And by the way, I can't believe it. I don't
think the ref helped at all. I think those two
calls had to be made regardless. A lot of the
times you want the ref the players to decide the game.

Speaker 4 (05:39):
That's what I like.

Speaker 5 (05:40):
But there are games like yesterday that the players did
not allow the ref to stay out of the game.
I think the Donovan people Jones call, yes, it was uncatchable,
but you have to call that vulgar holding of the
of his arm for like three yards in the end zone.
You have to call that. There's no way you can
let that go. Even if the call is if the

(06:00):
if the ball was uncotchable, it's a holding.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
It's something that had to be cold there.

Speaker 5 (06:05):
Maybe they not pass interference because he couldn't catch a ball,
but but.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
He has to be cold.

Speaker 4 (06:10):
We can discuss all this with Elmo in segment three
when we talk. I gotta believe he's gonna want to
talk a little football. Uh, let's talk about just real
quick about the opener. Man. We're gonna have Tristan Thompson
in in a minute. Here, Uh the T top and
is it T top or T tomp T top with

(06:30):
the T O P? Is that it correct or T
tomp T O m P Because it's Thompson, it's.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
T top right.

Speaker 4 (06:39):
No, I usual, I always call him T top T
top right. Yeah, okay, we'll ask him. Okay, good, I
will need this week the the opener we had the
Brooklyn then two at home, Uh back run away man, Yeah,
I know, I know it's gonna be Uh we're gonna
jump right in.

Speaker 1 (06:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (06:58):
You know, when I was thinking about chet Holmgren coming
to town this first time, we'll see him and chet Holmgren,
I we're going to see this year, We're going to
see uh Wemby this year. Everybody's talking about Evan Mobley.
This year is his coming out year. I was thinking
about Yiannis and the point I'm getting at is the
NBA changes, trends, change things change. What is going to

(07:21):
change next? Because right now it's guys that are seven three,
seven four who can do crazy things, athletic things. What's
going to be the next trend because dudes aren't going
to be seven to seven. I mean No, they're not
going to get bigger. I don't think guy's going to
get any bigger. You know, It's like China continues.

Speaker 5 (07:39):
To experiment with right with athletic parents.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
Waiting what YO mean?

Speaker 5 (07:44):
Was what like he's both his parents were like super
super athletes in China, and that's how right he came
to he came to be.

Speaker 4 (07:53):
But I wonder, I wonder if Cho Chi was genetically
engineered maybe.

Speaker 1 (07:59):
Yeah, you know, you know, but you know it's his
first name, not his last name. Right with the forty
third tick.

Speaker 9 (08:06):
In the twenty sixteen NBA Draft, the Houston Rockets select
Joe Chi from shin Cheong, China. He last played for
the shin Jiong Flying Tigers in China.

Speaker 5 (08:20):
But listen, I think I don't think we're gonna go
to see everybody having a seven five seven six, right,
because of those are freaks of natures such as Shaquille
or whatever those but Lebron and all those players, they're
like generational players. But I think it's something that JB.
Bickerstaff started here, which is the return of the big guy,

(08:40):
the back to the basket and and everything going. Everything
is starting from the low post and feeding the monsters
and all that, So I think that's something that I
would like to see. I mean too, because I kind
of enjoyed that that league a little better and than
the shooting from half court I'm with you kind of
thing and the one on one thing.

Speaker 1 (08:59):
I hope that's the way we're going.

Speaker 4 (09:01):
I think it's just crazy just to see guys this
big doing what they're doing.

Speaker 5 (09:05):
We already saw the trend switching to the teams being
built by the draft as opposed to that the pandemic.
We had a big teams, the super team, the guys
going to play together at a city and then you
know that the Big three and stuff. I think we
also turning that away because you see, you know, Denver
got a title after sticking to the guns and building

(09:27):
around the core draft players. You know, you see Memphis
doing the same thing us Boston has done it. They
keep bringing the you need to you need those extra pieces,
but you need to draft well.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
And I think we finally turning to see that.

Speaker 4 (09:40):
Yeah, which is good, and I think the league is
in a really good spot. And I want to when
we have el Muchachawa and I want to talk about
something A trend in the NFL that I'm seeing that
I don't like. That is not in the NBA. I'll
talk about it now real quick. And that you know,
I'm not a big social media guy, but I look
at social media. I'm not big poster, but a trend

(10:01):
i'm seeing on social media this is an NFL thing.
Are you seeing guys just beating the crap out of
each other, like nearly killing each other at NFL games?
Are you seeing videos? Yes, I'm each other and I'm
not saying pushing and shoving and I'm talking you know

(10:21):
where a guy is. Somebody is going to get killed one.

Speaker 1 (10:25):
Day for stupid things too.

Speaker 5 (10:26):
They're fighting over the bathroom fight it's all and soccer
punching too. It's not even a fighting, you get right.
I'm seeing video people that we're living in right now.

Speaker 4 (10:36):
It's no good. If I were the NFL, I would
come out with some kind of initiative to say, bring
down the temperature. Because every Monday, I guarantee today I'm
going to go on Twitter and see something and see
something where one dude is just blasting another.

Speaker 1 (10:49):
Guy like you said in the concourse.

Speaker 4 (10:52):
And also, I mean everything in a football stadium is
kind of creep and you know what happened, somebody is
going to get really seriously hurt soon.

Speaker 5 (10:59):
I don't know where they thing, what are you talking about?
But like in San Francisco in the in the Levi Stadium,
I don't know if they change the name yet the nation,
the Mexican national team was playing and this dude stabbed
another guy when they were fighting. It's it's yeah, but
I think that's more of I don't know who. You
blame it on social media, you blame it on the

(11:19):
generation that it's coming out behind, and I think, but
I think it's something. It's another epidemic that that people
actually think they're being human by doing that.

Speaker 1 (11:29):
And it's so stupid.

Speaker 4 (11:30):
It's over who.

Speaker 1 (11:31):
Goes to a game?

Speaker 5 (11:33):
And I'm telling you, man, I'm a big fan, you
know me, I'm a big fan of you know.

Speaker 1 (11:36):
I love my Yankees.

Speaker 5 (11:38):
I love you know, back in the day where before
I started bleeding one and go, I love my Celtic.
But to me to think that I'm gonna pay even
when I went with my brothers when we had tickets
for the Knicks for so long, like to go to
a game and to think that I'm gonna go out
and argue to punches with somebody because he's wearing the
other color. I used to go to the Knicks game
and where for forty one game I would work the

(12:00):
other team's jersey.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
Just because you know me. You're a tour right, But
like to think that I'm.

Speaker 5 (12:06):
Gonna go I'm gonna go to a sporting event with
my wife or my girlfriend or my.

Speaker 1 (12:10):
Brother whoever it is.

Speaker 5 (12:12):
To actually end up going at punch as with somebody
and only that in group, but nobody wins.

Speaker 4 (12:18):
It's stupid. But here's the thing. You you call Browns games.
You go down to the stadium every Sunday, though you've
never you've never seen it.

Speaker 1 (12:26):
I never seen it like this.

Speaker 4 (12:28):
I have not seen I've not seen anybody get ko
like I'm seeing. But there's mini brawls, and not just
between opponents, I mean between Browns fans. There's there's an atmosphere.
A lot has to do with the alcohol, but there's
an atmosphere of I hate to say, but there's an atmosphere,
an underlying atmosphere of violence at games that there needs to.

Speaker 1 (12:49):
Be a temperature that is that's not just in sports.

Speaker 4 (12:53):
You're right, You're right, it's because.

Speaker 1 (12:55):
You see it in demonstrations, you see and you're seeing in.

Speaker 5 (13:00):
The the example that these people are getting on TV
on the news. First of all, that that's all they
feed on the news.

Speaker 1 (13:06):
Right right.

Speaker 5 (13:07):
But I saw it the other day at the at
the at the Browns Niners game, and I tell you
again it's not the I could handle my alcohol and
on my on.

Speaker 1 (13:16):
My drinking days.

Speaker 5 (13:17):
But you know, there were a lot of San Francisco
for a Niners fans, I mean a sea of red
that you they were actually chanting defense when when the
Browns had the ball, right, that's how that's how many
they were, and they were winning, and you know, you
know how they they lost the game. So right in
front of us were that dude with the mass There

(13:37):
was a couple wearing even the plastic, the red plastic
on top of them. And when the when the Niners
took the lead, the woman, not even the man. And
not to say that the woman can fight or anything,
but I'm saying you would expect a little better. The
woman from the the from this couple, she stood up
and started pointing the finger at this Browns fans go

(14:00):
at them and the guys weren't replying, we weren't saying anything,
but in my head, I was like, Okay, this is
not gonna am Well. Then they missed the field goal
right in front of us, and of course she took
it back right, and she wasn't handling it as well
as she was giving it right.

Speaker 4 (14:15):
So that's you know, again and again, this is one
episode and there's seventy thousand people in.

Speaker 1 (14:21):
There, so it's it's it's a culture. I think it's.

Speaker 5 (14:24):
Yeah, I probably agree with you know, how culture grows.
Like relationships don't grow, culture does. And people keep bringing
that and that's what we see on social media. That's
what we see on the news and nobody I don't
I don't know if they get punished or whatever.

Speaker 1 (14:40):
But like, you know, but I mean.

Speaker 4 (14:42):
That people, that's that sells silent stupid, right, But I.

Speaker 1 (14:46):
Mean alcohol make you even dumber.

Speaker 4 (14:48):
Yeah, so people need to be more of a lover
and not a fighter like me when I'm drinking.

Speaker 1 (14:53):
Help.

Speaker 5 (14:54):
Yeah, you're a bad You're a bad example station.

Speaker 4 (15:02):
That's why when I come when I come to the
game with you, I have a pepsi and a pretzel,
my pretzel.

Speaker 1 (15:09):
But it's sad it's sad. There's there's everywhere, not just
in sports. You're like to be fair with that, you're right,
you're right. You can see that people in.

Speaker 5 (15:17):
The dinner table talking politics, like when we have when
my brother comes, we're like, okay, no politics.

Speaker 1 (15:22):
It's a good idea.

Speaker 5 (15:24):
You can't handle a discussion like you and I are
able to talk. We are with I mean, we we
already start the conversation from the premise that we're not
trying to convince each other who's wrong, who's right. We're
just discussing how we feel. And I think we're able
to manage to having it, but not everybody does.

Speaker 1 (15:41):
Because if you if you don't think like me, you're wrong,
you're the enemy. You're you're this, you're that so.

Speaker 5 (15:46):
And that's that's what we're living right now, I think,
and it's spreading everywhere.

Speaker 1 (15:50):
I've said this before.

Speaker 4 (15:51):
You're more like a brother than all my friends, because
you and I can beef. And then two seconds later
we got right back to.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
Because to be about exactly.

Speaker 5 (16:02):
He'd be boring if we all that's the same way,
and I thought the same.

Speaker 1 (16:06):
That's it. We got.

Speaker 4 (16:07):
We'll bring in a guy who Canadian politics never make
anybody man.

Speaker 1 (16:12):
Yeah, I have a really good room. Rabut.

Speaker 5 (16:13):
You know they say that that they said that a
prime minister, Justin Trudeau, Justin Trudeau is Fidel Castro's song.

Speaker 1 (16:21):
Oh yeah, that's the that's the rumor.

Speaker 4 (16:27):
Let's asks about the he Hey, we'll be right back
on winning a Gold radio with the great, the incomparable
Tristan Times.

Speaker 2 (16:37):
All right, this is Donoth Mitchell and I never listened
to Wine and Gold Radio.

Speaker 3 (16:41):
I'd rather probably walk on nails than listening to Wine
and Gold radio.

Speaker 6 (16:48):
There's more of.

Speaker 4 (16:49):
This twenty of the last twenty five days for you
guys spent on the road.

Speaker 1 (16:54):
How nice is it just to be back here at home?

Speaker 8 (16:58):
YESRG, no one I answer.

Speaker 6 (17:03):
To do this on Wine and Golden Radio.

Speaker 7 (17:24):
Then we have a text and they don't say who
they are from, but they want to know favorite city
to go to while we're on the road for going.

Speaker 1 (17:35):
Out to dinner. Now you know some great vegan places
when the cabs are on the road.

Speaker 8 (17:39):
There's a couple of New York City that are exceptional.
But Tim, you know, we go a lot of different
places in the kids and you quit hanging out with
being officer.

Speaker 4 (17:48):
Oh stop it.

Speaker 8 (17:49):
I think because it was your time.

Speaker 7 (17:51):
To pay Mitchell into Laina Mobley who stumped in, Oh,
having Mobley with a big time dunk off a beautiful
feed from Mitchell.

Speaker 1 (18:01):
Change the subject.

Speaker 8 (18:02):
Yeah, I think it was your time to pay and
also said what's w's tim? I said, Oh was it
was who's turn to pay?

Speaker 7 (18:10):
Mitchell? This is a three. Now I will have a
rebuttal when.

Speaker 1 (18:14):
There's a break in the access.

Speaker 6 (18:15):
Now back to Wine and Gold Radio.

Speaker 4 (18:20):
All right, everybody, welcome back to Wine and Gold Radio,
and we are here with.

Speaker 1 (18:24):
Te to the man. The man. Now we haven't we
have figured out he's talk. Yeah, he was telling me
what thump I was like thumb like before we even
get started.

Speaker 4 (18:38):
We have to address the conspiracy theory that Ralpha introduced
before the break that justin Trudeau, Oh yeah, minister is somehows.

Speaker 1 (18:48):
Have you ever heard that rumor?

Speaker 10 (18:49):
No?

Speaker 2 (18:50):
I guess you never know these.

Speaker 10 (18:51):
Days, especially back in the eighties and seventies and sixties,
having a good, good old time.

Speaker 1 (18:59):
Come on, I mean, I gotta show you where do
you even hear that? One?

Speaker 5 (19:02):
Dude from my wife is cube and I live in Miami.
You know, it's like but I gotta show you pictures
of Fidel when he was around that age. They it's
like and apparently his parents used to go there all
the time. Okay, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (19:14):
That's like almost misbehavior.

Speaker 1 (19:15):
We leave that behavior, Tristan.

Speaker 4 (19:21):
We we just talked off the air about how seeing
you in number twelve just is messed up.

Speaker 1 (19:25):
It just it's not right.

Speaker 10 (19:26):
It's not right. It's it's it's flash. I mean, uh,
let's get but yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (19:32):
Season.

Speaker 1 (19:35):
Straighten that out. Yeah. Where does the thirteen come from?
That that simple?

Speaker 2 (19:40):
It wasn't even that hard.

Speaker 10 (19:41):
It's like my birthdays on the thirteenth, March thirteen. So
when I started playing basketball, They're like, whatever you want
to be. I'm like a thirteen because my birthday's March thirteen.

Speaker 5 (19:50):
That was my number when I played too, I know,
for any other reason that I just like everybody thought
it was like a bad luck, you know, like you know,
like number. If everybody says, here is Friday the thirteen,
I mean nothing America. He still stayed at thirteenth. So
but I always.

Speaker 1 (20:04):
Figure, hey, you know what, let's keep thirteen of good things.
Always be my lucky number.

Speaker 4 (20:07):
Man out the thirteenth guy is you know, Oh yeah,
I just had my birthday.

Speaker 1 (20:11):
I told you were born on the fourth of July.
That's why you got so hard on those days.

Speaker 2 (20:16):
That's your birthday.

Speaker 4 (20:17):
So, Tristan, state of the Union. How's the team looking?
I mean, you've been around this long enough. How's the
team look to you?

Speaker 2 (20:23):
Right now?

Speaker 10 (20:24):
The team was good, you know obviously you know, we
got a couple of injury bugs, but guys trying to
come back.

Speaker 2 (20:28):
I feel healthy obviously.

Speaker 10 (20:29):
You know, Jay is a big part of our team,
so you know, just hold the forward down ntil he
gets back.

Speaker 2 (20:33):
But guys are excited.

Speaker 10 (20:35):
We'll have a good test against Brooklyn who's also a
playoff team, so you know they'll be hungry, and they
got guys coming back to have made improvements, so it'd
be a good test for us.

Speaker 4 (20:43):
Are you seeing the Tristan effect on the team? I mean,
because we brought you in for a reason. You know,
I think I could say this the tough end the
guys up a little bit, knock him around little bit
and get them kind of yeah, ready ready to rumble
for the year.

Speaker 1 (20:56):
Are you seeing the effect of you?

Speaker 10 (20:58):
It's starting, but it's going you know, talking guys get
in their hear and give them that confidence, give them
that kind of that few mentality that it's uh, you know,
it's great to be a good human being and a person,
but when you get on those lines, it's okay to
be nasty and yeah be.

Speaker 5 (21:10):
So before I ask you the next question, let me
post ten seconds to allow our affiliates to identify themself.

Speaker 10 (21:20):
Got this easy money base and you're listening to One
and Go Radio Cleveland, Ohio in America.

Speaker 1 (21:28):
Appreciate that.

Speaker 5 (21:29):
So you're back in Cleveland. Was what was the first
spot you hit? What?

Speaker 1 (21:34):
What is it that you missed the most of the city?

Speaker 5 (21:36):
And we have so many questions to ask you about
you and your relationship with with the city.

Speaker 10 (21:40):
Yeah, first part, I went to a town Hally I missed.
I missed the Bobby George, my guy so uh uh
his paleo wings, his paleo chicken tenders, I love them
so much, and his uh his chocolate chip on a
skillet cookie. So I had to go that spot and
everything looks good, still look healthy. So that's the first
part I went too. So I missed that place. Do

(22:01):
you miss the city?

Speaker 1 (22:02):
I mean what? Because I know you have a relationship boys.

Speaker 5 (22:05):
So you started your career here and whatever happens, you're
always going to have, you know, Cleveland there for you.
But what is it? What is it about this city
that keeps people closed or coming back to it?

Speaker 2 (22:15):
Man?

Speaker 10 (22:15):
This city is so special, you know the way that
you know, the atmosphere, the fans, how much they embrace
you and love you, and just me just you know,
it feels like home. You know, I spent a lot
of time here. You know, I know my whole way
around the city, especially the eastsid because you know, I
consider myself like East Cleveland type of guys. So you know,
I know the streets like the back of my head.
I don't need GPS for nothing. I know a lot

(22:36):
of people here, so I'm good. So I love it.
Just feels like it feels like how I feel like
when I'm back home in Toronto. You know, it's the
same thing. It's the same exact feel.

Speaker 4 (22:43):
We talked last last show about how a lot of athletes,
even after they finished playing, they come back to Cleveland,
they keep their home.

Speaker 1 (22:52):
In Cleveland and make it home.

Speaker 4 (22:53):
What is it about Cleveland that because it means it
has such a bad reputation But what is it about
Cleveland that athletes like once they've been here, once they've
played here.

Speaker 2 (23:02):
I think it's just how common and cool the city is.

Speaker 1 (23:05):
You know.

Speaker 10 (23:05):
You know, obviously the big market cities have a lot
of traffic and you know, obviously have like way more
things to do just because.

Speaker 2 (23:11):
The bigger, bigger city.

Speaker 10 (23:13):
But for Clevelands like that good in between you know,
it's it's it's it's got enough where you got good restaurants.
You know you've got something going on, but it's not
too slow like I mean, you know, no disrespect to
Oklahoma City or something like that.

Speaker 2 (23:24):
You know there's still enough going on.

Speaker 10 (23:26):
Where's that good in between bounds where's not crazy big market,
but it's not too slow like those other but.

Speaker 1 (23:31):
It on furnace.

Speaker 5 (23:32):
You know, I didn't know anything much about Cleveland when
I came here. I have been a couple of times
for like a football game, but those football trips are
like you know, Saturday afternoon to Sunday, so you really don't.
But when you when you mentioned restaurants, I mean, there's
really nothing or no type of food that you cannot
have here, and there's so many there's nothing more about
I don't know how you feel about it.

Speaker 1 (23:51):
Like I love those small.

Speaker 5 (23:52):
Rest of the fifteen twenty table restaurants, the mom and
pop probably than the big ones, you know, you know, definitely.

Speaker 2 (23:56):
Because it's made with love.

Speaker 10 (23:57):
You know. It's just you always got that injury of like,
you know, grandma cooking in the kitchen. Yeah, it's like
that family ran business has been passed on from generation
to generation. That's what Cleveland has to have those, like
you said, doesn't have those big you know, we obviously
have a couple of franchise ones, but the Mama pop restaurants,
worre it's one of one is way better, especially here
here in Cleveland.

Speaker 5 (24:16):
That's why I would tell you a lot about rock Cocos,
even though I always tell people when you go to
about Rocos, it's gonna take a little longer because they're making.

Speaker 2 (24:22):
The food that when you order, it's not like, yeah,
like a big pot.

Speaker 5 (24:26):
You know, whatever you order, they're gonna make it there
for you and it's somebody actually cooking.

Speaker 1 (24:30):
We love back then.

Speaker 4 (24:31):
Yeah, yes, yes, Just turn back to basketball real quick.
What rookie have you kind of taken under your wing?
And uh, what do you guys, what do you have
planned for the rookies.

Speaker 10 (24:40):
I mean, you know, we have our duties. You know,
the donuts day of a game, you know, Krispy Kreme
so or Jack Frost, whichever one. But we we gotta
have fresh cookies. Yeah, uh, donnuts. I mean my apology.
We haven't started. What we're going to start. We got
something like Chipotle or Chick fil A on the plane,
you know obviously platform Oh yeah, yeah, they gotta bring
they got to bring take the order.

Speaker 2 (25:00):
They gotta take the orders. And you know we take
care of them. You know, I'm a good bet. I'll
take care of my rooks.

Speaker 5 (25:04):
You know, that's what we usually do with the dolphins.
They had to feed the rookies, had to feed the plane.

Speaker 2 (25:08):
Yeah, exactly, bring some food for the plane.

Speaker 5 (25:10):
Didn't you have something to do about somebody's car getting
loaded with popcorn?

Speaker 10 (25:15):
Bennett Anthony Bennett, waiters calling sex.

Speaker 2 (25:21):
Then, I mean, listen, the guys that listen, we give you,
we tell you some duty, give your duty. You gotta
do it.

Speaker 10 (25:27):
Got to respect the orders. It's not crazy. It's got
a couple of dollars, but they can afford it. They
got you know, their deals are public. So and if
you don't do it, then we're gonna have to have
a repercussion and we ask you a.

Speaker 1 (25:38):
Favorite, and we have a favorite of you.

Speaker 5 (25:40):
If if, if, if it so happens that there's a
there's a rookie not following you know, the rules to
the to the letter. Can you let us know when
that's going to happen so we can actually make it
part of the show, like you know, you know, wetbody
can't give it to this being spilled.

Speaker 10 (25:55):
I can't give you too much an advance because sometimes stuff leads.

Speaker 2 (25:58):
You know.

Speaker 4 (26:00):
What I'm asking is because we want to do a
little game with you. We want to do a little
You've heard a word association, So like the first thing
that either comes in your head or maybe the first
story that comes in your head from these guys when
I throw you this name. Okay, ready, okay, let's start
with about Timo.

Speaker 2 (26:20):
Big his his commercial Blue Garden restaurant.

Speaker 10 (26:28):
Yes, yes, don't What about what about Perker Big? Perk
Uh goes through three three shirts before practice over that
mats what so much more than Kevin.

Speaker 2 (26:42):
Oh way more than Kevin. He has Kevin beat.

Speaker 4 (26:44):
And Kevin Kevin's nickname was the big sweaty one.

Speaker 1 (26:47):
Everyone's like.

Speaker 2 (26:49):
A game.

Speaker 10 (26:49):
If Kev's a big sweaty then then then the big
perk is the big sauna.

Speaker 4 (26:56):
About coach Byron Scott, about.

Speaker 10 (26:58):
Those days Scott conditioning, Yeah you'll be in shaped. Yeah
you Michael birketire twos.

Speaker 2 (27:04):
Everything you want to say. He kick your guys as
in yeah, yeah, he would be to mess around.

Speaker 4 (27:10):
He wound the old school guy.

Speaker 5 (27:11):
Yeah, what about the big guy from Syracuse the waiters
Philly Cheese, Philly Cheese.

Speaker 10 (27:19):
Bet on yourself and double down. Yeah, that's that was
the saying, betting yourself and double downs. Man, such a
great guy. He's got he's got he's got toughness man,
you know that. Yeah, you don't back down.

Speaker 4 (27:33):
Uh here's the guy that you didn't play along with
but was kind of a character.

Speaker 1 (27:37):
Uh Birdman Anderson.

Speaker 10 (27:39):
Big bird Bird is a good time man. He's got Uh,
he'd always be on that uh that assault bike, stayed
in shape, the salt bike.

Speaker 2 (27:47):
Yep, big bird.

Speaker 4 (27:50):
Luke Walton as a teammate, what was Luke like as
a teammate. Now he's obviously coach, he's got to be.
You know, Luke's the same.

Speaker 10 (27:56):
As a coach, as a teammate, as a player. Really,
he's just chilling. You know, he's just a very smart
basketball mind. We'll just look at you and stare at
you and you're like, are you staring at me? Or
you're just like dazed away, you know, he's like Alhwa's
then like his dad.

Speaker 5 (28:08):
What about what about this guy who I know came
in and made a difference in twenty sixteen Channing Fry
Oh the secret weapon.

Speaker 10 (28:16):
Yeah, like I'll see Frid the secret weapon, the secret weapon. Yeah,
he's uh. I mean we still have our group chat
with our guys. I mean Channing's I always tell you
with chanting was one the reason why we won the
championship came back, so the way he was able to
bring us all together with the group chat. We never
had one until Channing came around, and he was.

Speaker 1 (28:33):
Funny, were you ever invited to Fry Island?

Speaker 2 (28:36):
Fry Island? Listen, Channing, We've had a lot of fry Yeah.

Speaker 1 (28:43):
Last one, let's do u.

Speaker 4 (28:44):
Jordan Clarkson, who is like barely tattooed when he was here.

Speaker 10 (28:48):
Yeah, he had no tattoos when he first got traded here.
Then the next year comes with shoulder tattoos, and he's
a neck tattoo of rows and now he's completely tatted.

Speaker 2 (29:00):
That's my guy. J C is my guy. That's my
brother right there. And you know I love j C.
I love him.

Speaker 1 (29:04):
I love him the best.

Speaker 5 (29:05):
But what happened when with him that somebody, some reporter
asked him something about like.

Speaker 1 (29:09):
You ever see that? He yeah, he was on this.

Speaker 4 (29:12):
He was walking down the street, so like just Salt
Lake City, walking down the street as a dude, and
the reporter asked him, do you ever go to see
uh jazz games?

Speaker 1 (29:22):
It would be.

Speaker 4 (29:24):
Yeah, yeah sometimes I go again.

Speaker 10 (29:25):
Yeah, I remember seeing that, I remember seeing I remember
seeing that.

Speaker 4 (29:28):
You never broke character.

Speaker 2 (29:29):
No, yeah, you know, well.

Speaker 5 (29:33):
Let's finish with let finish with this braun. I mean
you played with him here, you're playing with him in
La the grass of all time, agreed periods of all time.

Speaker 4 (29:41):
Yeah, you guys still keep in touch.

Speaker 2 (29:43):
Always always, that's my brothers. I was always in touch.

Speaker 5 (29:46):
Do you remember much of anything that you can share
with us?

Speaker 1 (29:49):
On the Vegas trip after the championship.

Speaker 2 (29:52):
Uh, the tab was very high and we have that
was all Dad's money.

Speaker 1 (29:58):
Yeah, to pay for it. Thank you so much for
joining us. I want to go radio. We gotta have
you back.

Speaker 10 (30:04):
Yeah, I appreciate you guys, fellows, thank you so much
of you know, best of luck the rest of the
season with you, guys, and thank you grabbing me one signal.

Speaker 11 (30:16):
Hey, this is a mind crump entering a host for
your Cleveland Cavaliers. And I will never and the crump
means never listen to winding Gold Radio.

Speaker 1 (30:28):
I mean, what.

Speaker 4 (30:39):
Who listen to radio that go where you go?

Speaker 1 (30:45):
Medium gold radio that's with you every.

Speaker 10 (30:49):
Night through the long commuter fight and in the morning
with your tosting mama radio.

Speaker 11 (30:57):
Who listens to radio no matter if it's some more winter.

Speaker 1 (31:04):
Spring a fall? Who listens to re radio?

Speaker 10 (31:10):
Only one one hundred and fifteen million, one one hundred
and fifteen million people?

Speaker 2 (31:19):
That give me that pole?

Speaker 6 (31:39):
Now back to Wine and Gold Radio.

Speaker 4 (31:42):
I'm talking about here, Okay, everybody, welcome back to the
final segment of Wine and Gold Radio.

Speaker 1 (31:50):
Wine and Go Radio. Don't do it?

Speaker 4 (31:53):
Don't you do it?

Speaker 1 (31:55):
Why don't go radio?

Speaker 4 (31:56):
No, it's better, it's better enough. You got me singing
that kiss on.

Speaker 1 (32:02):
What was for loving you?

Speaker 4 (32:05):
I'll be singing that damn song all night now.

Speaker 1 (32:07):
You know how weird to see those guys with a makeup.

Speaker 4 (32:10):
They came out without makeup for a while and then they.

Speaker 5 (32:12):
That's crazy though, especially you know when you used to
seeing them we make up and then. I don't mind
the Rolling Stones playing until they're ninety because I seen
them all the time and they studio album. But like, like,
like Richard looked like he was ninety when he was nineteen,
so it's okay. But to see Kiss with age hitting them, yeah,

(32:34):
without makeup is I guess the makeup doesn't look good
in the right with all flabby.

Speaker 4 (32:40):
Were you in the kiss when you're a kid?

Speaker 1 (32:42):
I hate a kiss? Because everybody else liked them, Okay,
I love them.

Speaker 5 (32:47):
I liked some of their songs, but I wasn't like,
you know, like some of my friends. No, because I
always do this two tool as far as I can
remember to now, I always hated those trendy things. And
when my friends came out on Halloween dressed as the
Cat and Paul Stanley, I thought that was the sleep.

Speaker 4 (33:07):
I yeah, I know you're in a you're in a
kind of class, that's what you are.

Speaker 1 (33:11):
No, I just you know, I like the Stone. When
I was at that age man.

Speaker 4 (33:15):
The Stones are still putting out.

Speaker 1 (33:16):
I mean, like I know, I still put it on
really good show. Like I never saw kiss live never
never would not even free.

Speaker 4 (33:22):
You know, we need to talk about Springsteen one day,
not today, but one day about Bruce Springsteen. Well you
talk about it, and I didn't. I didn't go see
him and this tour because I got sick of hearing
about him. I got sick of it. I got over
I hate trendy things. I got over Bruce this summer
too much.

Speaker 1 (33:40):
I told you, I send you a picture.

Speaker 5 (33:41):
When I was in Andorra, I saw a poster of
him for some broken roll show that.

Speaker 1 (33:45):
Was being He wasn't gonna be there.

Speaker 4 (33:47):
I love him, I love Bruce, but it was an oversaturation.

Speaker 1 (33:50):
Come guests. See, I guess he's part of the show. Yeah,
part of the man.

Speaker 4 (33:53):
Yeah, elcho, golden boy.

Speaker 5 (34:00):
We still have to do that show with that girl
from tow Lake City that he turned down, his action
he turned down you know, he turned her down for
like Prome or something like that.

Speaker 4 (34:09):
Prom. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (34:09):
I think it was. She asked.

Speaker 4 (34:10):
I think she asked, was it was?

Speaker 8 (34:13):
It was? It wasn't.

Speaker 3 (34:14):
It wasn't prom. It was like it was like a
late or yeah, it was like a late grade school.

Speaker 4 (34:19):
Like Sadie Hawk and something.

Speaker 1 (34:20):
And she asked you and you turn her down. Yeah. Play.

Speaker 4 (34:26):
She was such a sweetheart too. Yeah, he blew it
and ladies, man, I guess. So what do you got
for us? Let's take some news around the league.

Speaker 1 (34:33):
Well, what do you want to talk about?

Speaker 3 (34:34):
It's a pretty it's a pretty I think it's a
pretty busy time of time of the sports calendar.

Speaker 4 (34:38):
Does that Let's have the A, n B, A, and
NHL are back.

Speaker 3 (34:42):
Yes, football is in full swing. Baseball is in the
almost over.

Speaker 4 (34:47):
Rafa doesn't care about the playoffs because his Yankees earning.

Speaker 1 (34:50):
He's a baby. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (34:51):
Well before I before I started talking to you, guys
were talking about how Rafa likes, you know, things that
not everybody likes. Ye, he's a Yankees fan.

Speaker 1 (34:58):
Yeah, what's that?

Speaker 5 (35:01):
And so you know what I always hate about this
and I don't know ifho this cut is before. I'm
a Yankee fan and I became a fan when they
got swept by the Big Red Machine in nineteen seventy six.
He was, Yeah, and I became a fan of the Yankees. Well, everybody,
well every kid and my that age what becomes a
fan of the championship team. I became a fan of
the Yankees and everybody, and then they won in seventy

(35:21):
seven and seventy eight with mister October. And the reason
I'm a baseball fan and a Yankee fan is because
Otama Monson from Canton, Ohio. That was He's my favorite player.
But everybody tells me I'm a Yankee fan because they
always win, and from seventy nine or eighty, from eighty
to two thousand, from nineteen eighty to nineteen ninety six,
they didn't win a thing, so I got to enjoy it.

Speaker 4 (35:44):
You're not going to find any sympathy from Cleveland.

Speaker 1 (35:46):
No, But I'm saying I wasn't.

Speaker 5 (35:47):
I wasn't a Yankee fan because they won all the
time I went through, you know, to my hard time.
But that's nothing, nothing, It doesn't compare to any of
the other stuff we're talking about. But yes, Yankee fan.

Speaker 4 (36:00):
I'm a New Yorker and Gold is a big fan
of the Phillies. I believe I think he's pulling for
them to win the whole thing.

Speaker 1 (36:05):
Anybody, but I.

Speaker 3 (36:07):
Need I need a whole other episode to talk about
anybody about the Philly sports.

Speaker 4 (36:13):
He hates Philly sports. I don't know for some reason
we did yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (36:16):
Wow, I don't get it.

Speaker 5 (36:18):
I like, I can't all that Eagle Eagle Sunday night
game with the old jerseys white jerseys.

Speaker 3 (36:26):
That's fantastic, Santa Claus like the Eagleskelly Green jerseys are fantastic.
The Phillies have some I think, really good jerseys. Blower Blue, fantastic.

Speaker 5 (36:38):
With Larry and Money three year playing second McBride. Yeah,
and what the name of the closer that Doug McGraw. Yeah,
oh man, those those were baseball days.

Speaker 1 (36:50):
Man. Now, I couldn't even tell you who's in the
playoff right now. It's been good. I know Bethel is
my favorite sport, but I have lost some interest.

Speaker 5 (36:59):
Nothing nothing to do with the Yankees being out of
the playoffs in nineteen something good.

Speaker 1 (37:03):
I love some interest in it. It's maybe a lot
have to do because the Guardians made that.

Speaker 5 (37:08):
Didn't make it, because you know, we did some Guardians
games in Spanish this year and I.

Speaker 4 (37:12):
Was Game seven Monday night.

Speaker 1 (37:14):
Yeah, not interested?

Speaker 4 (37:15):
What else you got?

Speaker 3 (37:16):
I mean, we can't record an episode on a Monday
after a Brown Brown Miles Garretts the best player in
the league.

Speaker 4 (37:26):
He might be the best.

Speaker 3 (37:28):
He's not, He's not actually the best player in the league.

Speaker 1 (37:30):
But in the league.

Speaker 5 (37:34):
Yeah, I think him and him and what him and
what are the two guys that actually.

Speaker 3 (37:37):
Michael Parsons with words.

Speaker 5 (37:39):
Yeah, but but these two guys actually.

Speaker 1 (37:42):
Can turn a game around.

Speaker 5 (37:47):
On Sunday, the Browns were kind of looking bad about
to give up points that the tent the first half
and they were going to give the ball back and
to start the second half, and he just totally yeah.

Speaker 4 (37:59):
Exactly, And man, what was he thinking of having him
pay back in the end.

Speaker 5 (38:02):
Zone but trying a sixty some field goal too?

Speaker 4 (38:07):
It's also bad, but I mean fading back with like
a minute before halftime and only get back into it.
But it's like, man, Miles Garrett was already destroying your line.

Speaker 5 (38:15):
Killing you even whether he was killing you whether you
were running the ball or you were like dropping back
to pass. Yeah, it was affecting the game. Incredible.

Speaker 3 (38:24):
Yeah, no, I mean, like you just talked about to play,
but like the play that he made to block that
field goal.

Speaker 5 (38:30):
Matter, Yeah, he got a field goal defect, the pass deflect,
the pass two strip shacks that man, I mean, he
was just doing whatever he wanted.

Speaker 1 (38:41):
He destroyed the game.

Speaker 3 (38:42):
I feel like, I don't know, I feel like as
far as players go, who could just change the game,
Who can just change the NFL game?

Speaker 2 (38:50):
Like at the drop of a hat.

Speaker 1 (38:51):
He's got to be But you see that? Do you
see that pick? That what had yesterday? Again? Again? Yeah? No, no, no, no,
I look like I think that. I think he's had
that conversation JJ.

Speaker 2 (39:00):
Watt and you have.

Speaker 4 (39:01):
He is amazing and he's a good friend of the
Calves males, Garrett, that's right, he's always you know, you support.

Speaker 5 (39:05):
I think we should I think we should have a
bubble ahead of him instead of the Taylor guy Kelsey,
Taylor Sweet guy, Yeah, Taylor Swift, whatever you name is.

Speaker 1 (39:16):
I've done a lot with Myles.

Speaker 4 (39:17):
Yeah, but Jay, the Kelsey brothers are good Cave supporters too.

Speaker 1 (39:22):
That's they bring a lot of good love for us too.
So I wonder if Taylor Sweet is coming for the
bubble head Day.

Speaker 4 (39:27):
I wonder, yeah, I wonder if she'll come to it.

Speaker 5 (39:29):
They should at least get a video of her with
the bubblehead on. I wouldn't know that she has time
to hang up with my home brother, then she has
time to do a video.

Speaker 4 (39:37):
Have you ever heard of Taylor swift song?

Speaker 1 (39:39):
No, I never have it.

Speaker 10 (39:40):
I know.

Speaker 1 (39:40):
I couldn't even give you a name. I might have her,
and you guys definitely have heard. I might have, but
I don't know. I don't know.

Speaker 4 (39:48):
No, you have you like I can't know. This is
blowing the lead. But if you ever heard the John
Michael Taylor Swift stone, Yes, okay, I think it's hilarious. Yeah,
I would recognize her. I wouldn't be like John. But
John Michael for you, Matt Golden, for fans listening out
there are play by play guy, the wonderful John Michael,

(40:09):
the El Capitan. One time he was doing sideline reporting
for I think yeah, for the Blue Jackets, for the
Blue Jackets, and he's kind of he was off the
air at the time, and a pretty young woman.

Speaker 5 (40:21):
He was waiting for the team to come off the ice,
you know, like a tunnel, and this young girl came
over and stood next to him and.

Speaker 4 (40:28):
Started talking and what do you do for the team,
and this and that and and John Michael talked to
her and everything else, and then she walked away and no.

Speaker 1 (40:35):
He asked, what are you up to?

Speaker 5 (40:37):
And she was like, I had something working here tomorrow
Staples Center.

Speaker 4 (40:42):
And she walked away, and so I guess somebody got
out the moment.

Speaker 1 (40:45):
Everybody in the truck was Taylor Swift and no idea.

Speaker 4 (40:51):
After I had no idea, he was talking about it.

Speaker 1 (40:53):
I wouldn't know who she is, but I don't know.
I don't know what music means.

Speaker 3 (40:56):
I'm also glad that you guys said Staples Center because
I thought this was like an interaction in Columbus or something.

Speaker 1 (41:02):
I thought that, Oh no, no, no, I think it was
a Staple. It was Staple.

Speaker 4 (41:05):
It was because she said I have to work.

Speaker 1 (41:07):
Their name is now. But what it was? Oh yeah,
what else? That's funny?

Speaker 3 (41:11):
Out of the two opening night matchups, what are you
looking forward to? L A the Lakers at Denver or
Phoenix at Goland State.

Speaker 5 (41:17):
And I really hope that the Nauguts did a better
job designing the ring than designing.

Speaker 1 (41:24):
The city edition Jersey. Have you seen it?

Speaker 3 (41:28):
I haven't seen.

Speaker 1 (41:28):
I haven't seen that. He has a fifty to eighty.
But it's the same funt and the same thing at
the number on the Jersey.

Speaker 4 (41:37):
No, I haven't seen it. Yeah, I haven't seen it
any But to answer your question, I'm looking forward to
that game more because the Lakers are picked off because
apparently Denver's been talking crap all off season. Oh really,
I guess that, yeah that they Yeah, KCP has been talking.
I guess the the Lakers are unhappy with the Nugge,

(42:00):
so they're gonna but you know, to be honest, like
opening night.

Speaker 1 (42:03):
The second game is good.

Speaker 4 (42:05):
That's uh.

Speaker 1 (42:05):
You know, sons that are Warriors.

Speaker 4 (42:07):
Sons that worries Warriors are starting to board.

Speaker 1 (42:11):
I'm a little match.

Speaker 5 (42:12):
Up in the middle of the season. I think opening now,
you'll never know what you're gonna get.

Speaker 4 (42:16):
Yeah, yeah, And I'm curiously Bradley Beal and the sons
from that will be kind of cool. But if you
don't like three pointers, the Dubs are like on board
with that.

Speaker 1 (42:32):
Yea.

Speaker 5 (42:32):
You know they Saylamson might be a free agent, must test,
might test free agency next year.

Speaker 4 (42:39):
Okay, Well we're open.

Speaker 3 (42:44):
And I feel like I have to kind of continue
on with from last season's you know, recording of episodes
and and ask every episode if you're a soccer fan yet.

Speaker 4 (42:54):
I'm not a soccer fan. Yet I give me a
I need reasons to be a soccerphane.

Speaker 1 (42:58):
You can't just it's the most exciting. I like that.

Speaker 4 (43:00):
Like that that those fans were pissed at that little
like year old kid. Like that made me happy, Like yeah,
I want to see some more action about a women's team.
How about a women's team in Cleveland?

Speaker 1 (43:14):
I like that.

Speaker 4 (43:14):
Tell me more about that.

Speaker 5 (43:15):
I want to do that. I want to do the
games in Spanish for that. Well, no, but I think
there is a good opportunity that not only will have
a women's soccer team, but we'll have some history may
here if.

Speaker 1 (43:29):
He happens and if everybody gets behind it.

Speaker 4 (43:31):
If we had soccer here, would it be outdoor soccer?

Speaker 2 (43:34):
Probably?

Speaker 1 (43:35):
Probably?

Speaker 4 (43:36):
Okay, played where.

Speaker 1 (43:38):
I think they're going to build a stadium. Are you
going to go see them?

Speaker 2 (43:42):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (43:43):
Okay? What if even if you're not play back, Pa,
you're still going to go?

Speaker 1 (43:47):
Yeah? Socca is fun, man, will you gold? Yes? Soccer's fun.

Speaker 5 (43:51):
You don't have to worry about I mean, I know
you don't like it because there's no commercials on TV,
but there's no live it's really good.

Speaker 3 (43:58):
Mhm, it's half it's half concert, half game, half sporting.

Speaker 4 (44:02):
I don't see that at all. Well, there's no scoring,
there's no action, there's no you don't have to just violence.

Speaker 1 (44:09):
There's just about scoring talent. He came in touch. Well, look,
I'll take you to a game and then you'll tell me.

Speaker 4 (44:17):
Okay, I mean I went to like what is it
called a friendly? Like when the US.

Speaker 1 (44:21):
Team friendly is are not good.

Speaker 4 (44:24):
I don't know soccer. It's just I don't know. Soccer
is a buzz kill man. It's it is.

Speaker 3 (44:30):
It's you could, you could. You could watch one of
the most entertaining soccer games you ever watched.

Speaker 1 (44:34):
In the final score zero zero.

Speaker 5 (44:36):
But you say this doesn't have scoring. I can't tell
you a game that I watched. The Twins played, I
forget who he was, and Jack Morris through ten not
hit in and and the Twins won. I won nothing game.
I think it was like it was the world serious game.
I got the braves, I believe.

Speaker 4 (44:51):
Well, yes, yes that is true. But little things happen
during those games, so they don't strike the.

Speaker 9 (44:59):
Ball.

Speaker 4 (45:00):
As to me, it looks like a dude's running up
putting down the field, and they run seven.

Speaker 1 (45:07):
Eight miles per game. Man, you got to share the man.
I don't watch them.

Speaker 4 (45:10):
I don't care about how many miles they run.

Speaker 1 (45:14):

the back and it's okay, I don't worry about it. Okay.

(46:26):
The best person in Cleveland who we didn't think last time,
the greatest human being a Lucy Verus run the community department.

Speaker 1 (46:34):
Anything for Lucia and by the way, they had a man.

They had an amazing They did an amazing job, the
whole team Pan Frasco, Selena, Lucilla and the whole communal
relations you know department. They did an amazing job with
the Cavaliers gala, so nobody nothing was said that I
