In downtown Cleveland. Hello, Hello, you tuned in to Wine
and Gold Radio. Now you're your host? Rock?

Speaker 4 (01:00):
Is this more on number one? And Joji put More
on number two on the phone.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
Ya Hey, and welcome to Wine and Gold Radio Road
Edition another road edition. Yeah, I am Joji and I
am joined by Ernandez Brito Spanish voice of the Cavaliers
and the Browns and the Guardians. Yeah, and the final four.
That's right. Hey, how you doing, buddy? I'm doing all right, man.

Speaker 4 (01:27):
It's been we are road trip because it started in
Atlanta where it was colder than Cleveland, right, and then
we went to Orlando when the sun finally came out
that we were.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
Getting on the bars to leave it.

Speaker 4 (01:40):
But it was great because Flamengo team was there. It
was staying with us a hotel and told me that's
my team in Brazil, so it was pretty cool.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
And they're not big guys. They're not big Soca players.
They just two or three guys, just the fullbacks. I
was kind of surprised by that. How how messy they weren't.

Speaker 4 (01:57):
Yeah, no, it's like it's they're smaller than hockey player.
You know, sometimes we find hockey teams on the road,
but the hockey players are not like stumps man. Football
players are not. Soccer players are not. So it was
great to see them. And then you know, coming to
Milwaukee where we got back on the white stuff.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
But it was good. It's good to be back on
the road. Good to have you back on the road.
It's good to be back on the road. And speaking
of the road and the air and everything else, I
haven't really we haven't had a show since you got
back from Paris, And I asked, how was the trip?

Speaker 4 (02:31):
Man, It was awesome. I think it was a really
good you know, I always tell the story this way,
and I sound a lot smarter in Spanish, you know,
I always like to say that. But you know, Jab
had a really good comment on the on the trip
when when we came back and I first came back
at home, and how it was awesome to share time

(02:52):
with everybody, the people that you don't really get to
spend time with, even though we're always on the road.
But everybody had their significant others, some people some people
even have the children, you know, spending time with and
his wife, and Jose Calderon was there with his kids,
and Bernie Bickerstaff, dancing the night out at the party
that we had, and that all all that, having breakfast together,

(03:14):
all that. Obviously, you know, winning at the end. But
to me, I always say this way. When I came
to the Calves, I took a bus ride to Detroit
for that meeting with Dan Gilbert where he talks about
his isms, and I drank not only the glass of
kool aid, I drank the picture. I was so pumped
when I was coming back on that bus ride. And

(03:35):
to see those isms on display in our trip to
Paris was just incredible. The most important one, A penny saved,
is a penny for Dan Gilbert. And then we went.
I don't want to I don't know where the nets
were staying. I don't know what they did, but I
really doubt that they were going a little harder. They

(03:58):
were going harder than we were.

Speaker 6 (03:59):
We had the whole all hotel for ourselves, and our
clients and our staff because it was a home game,
so it was everybody was there, Mundog's r C C,
the stick guys and.

Speaker 4 (04:12):
All that.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
But I should have brought the peply faced square for you.

Speaker 4 (04:14):
Yeah, but you know, the dance thing was there, you know.
And then he has an instance that you'll see when
you believe it. Well, we believe that Dan Gilbert can
do what he did over there in in in Paris.
And again I'm out of I can't find wars to
explain to you how Paris in the winter was beautiful,

(04:36):
because usually that city is the city is one of
the most beautiful civil one the most romantic cities in
the summer where you can walk in and everything.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
I have my wife and my daughter there and they
had a blast.

Speaker 4 (04:46):
You know. It's it's there's no I hate when people
ask me about Paris because I always feel that I
come up short describing how amazing the trip was. For
the organization for the displayoff awesome. That said, it was epic.
It was just amazing.

Speaker 1 (05:04):
My family, my family and friends tease me because I
drink the kool aid when I go up to Detroit.
By the time I leave, I'm like, yeah, man, I'm
totally into it. They're like, what's wrong with you? You know,
I'm kind of a nonconformist, as you know, but you.

Speaker 4 (05:17):
Know the way the way we treated our clients and
sponsors and first class partners, first class below above first class.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
And here's the thing, like I think people probably, well,
it's NBA, of course it's first class. It's not.

Speaker 4 (05:30):
It's not.

Speaker 1 (05:30):
We've been around the league. There's thirty not there throws me.

Speaker 4 (05:33):
I've been around. I've been in different organizations.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
When I'm talking, well, you've been pro organizations, but I'm
talking NBA. You go to NBA cities all around, and
I won't say we take it for granted, but I'm
saying that we are a first class championship organization and
all thirty teams are not. I mean I can't. I'm
not going to name names. But you go around the

(05:56):
league and you see how much we care, how much
we best, all that stuff. But that's part of first
class organization.

Speaker 4 (06:03):
That's part of that is part of that tree.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
But me's with a kool aid, Well, that.

Speaker 4 (06:08):
Is part of that tree to Detroit that I'm telling
you about, because you take ownership and that's what Dan
plan is for everybody to care about I mean the
light bulb that is burned in the room, or you know,
to a client and feeling comfortable with what you're doing.
And you know, like in my case, it's like I'm
walking around and I see I go into the bathroom
at the Fieldhouse and the garbage can is flowing. So

(06:31):
I call and I say, you know, so I don't know,
just little from little things, you can build a great
organization where you care about everything. Right, we are the
day like we may bit the difference, and I think
those are the things that to me, that was the
best part of Paris to see all that on display.
And I got to introduce my wife and daughter to Dan,

(06:52):
you know, just to thank him for changing my life,
because to me, coming to Cleveland was like probably the
best decision I ever made.

Speaker 1 (06:58):
So here's my next big question. We talked to Marty,
my god, dude, no no, no, no, no, I have
to tell you this. I was hurting when I came back. Wow,
it must have been a really good he was not
only that, he was was a heated toilet seed.

Speaker 4 (07:20):
Here, a toilet seed with with with be they and
front and back and holds on the side and you.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
Have a French pamperty right now, and I kept thinking
of a big daddy, the big day.

Speaker 4 (07:34):
Guys like my guy, he has a point, this thing
is is worth investing in it. But I think they
heated toilet seed trumps everything else.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
You're not going to complain, But was there anything about
paras we didn't like? No, Okay, you know I was
actually I was he pleased. And then you know, when
we go to the game.

Speaker 4 (07:53):
I don't know if you've seen the picture of it,
like David Beckham and Ronaldo sat in front of me
and and and Ronaldo was like Ronaldo and Beckham all
both played for drama Rid, so they both speak Spanish,
but I was able to speak in Portuguese with Ronaldo.
Beckham turn around and gave me his pork porn and
then the three of them they were sitting with Tony Parker,
so they signed it for me.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
And then at the end of the game.

Speaker 4 (08:14):
The best part about it is even though I never
rooted for Raal Madrid, I always appreciated how good. It's
kind of like you're saying, you know, I'm not a
fan of the Warrior, but I know how great, you know,
Steph Curry, right right, you can take that away from him.
But at the end of the game, you know, the Paris,
I guess the arena doesn't have the facility that most
of arenas do here in the NBA, where halftime they

(08:36):
leave and they come back like when the third quarter
has already started. They had to stay on the court to.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
The arena restrooms every day. I didn't go.

Speaker 4 (08:43):
I didn't have a time to go. The food was
bad there. You go, help me to complain food. The
food was bad at the arena. And then Beckham turned
around and extended his hand and shook my hand and said,
thank you for making that game fun. I could hear
everything he was saying on your broke and it really
made it fun.

Speaker 1 (09:01):
And he gave you his popcorn.

Speaker 4 (09:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
And then he gave you his popcorn.

Speaker 4 (09:05):
Yeah. He gave me the popcorn. And I say, you
gotta sign it. So the three of them sign it,
and then Donovan Mitchell came to say goodbye. So then
Dawn signed it. After well. The night that he scored
his forty five, it was it was all around an
amazing night. And and and your fridge and make sure
that they put us on the floor because you know,
the NBA wanted to throw us back in the Yeah,

(09:25):
in the in the in the in the raptors at
the Arco Arena.

Speaker 1 (09:28):
Did you keep little away from Beckham because he's a
beautiful man. You know, Beckham was really cool. I was surprised.

Speaker 4 (09:33):
I was. I had to lie to him when I
introduced myself to him, because I said I was a
fan of Real Madrid Miami f C. Which I'm not,
but I had to. I had to find a you know,
I couldn't go in there. I'm a fan of Barcelona
and I hate Miami, so I said, you know, I'm
a big fan of Real Madrid. Like he's like, he
was very nice after that.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
Let's talk some hoops. He got off the ruby start. Obviously,
a game win streak came to it and h in
the first game here in Milwaukee, but for the first
for the first time in over two weeks, they lost
the first quarter. Cavs lost the first quarter, but they
were only down four at the end of the first quarter.
And what I liked about Wednesday Night's game was they

(10:15):
could have kind of folded there in that third quarter
when they went down twenty one, I thought, yeah, you
could almost, especially with a two game set, you could almost.
And having blown them out by forty last week, you
could have said, hey, you know what, it's not our night,
let's fold it up and kind of, you know, get ready.
But they didn't. But they fought back, they clawed back, right,
and you know, and again Donovan didn't have his best game,

(10:38):
so to be honest, and I'm just gonna say, George Niang,
who in the postgame locker room there.

Speaker 7 (10:45):
He's the best, nothing like it, but he's kind of
and he's he was joking in his loud George Yang
kind of way, but he was kind of saying, you know, it's.

Speaker 1 (10:55):
Is that all you got? A little healthy team, and
that's all you've got. Everybody's laughing, but you know, and
thing about it right in his funny leadership way. He's saying,
we have a work down two starters, two starters to
attend one of our best reserves in Tristan, and you
guys are at full strength and.

Speaker 4 (11:16):
We scare you and from twenty one to six the
second half.

Speaker 1 (11:20):
And so he's saying, is that all you got? And
it's like, you know, like I said, that's George's way,
you know, he's funny, but also he's making a point.

Speaker 4 (11:28):
But he never he's either he's either sticking the jab
or making a point when he talks. And I think
you or you have to go back to your point
about it is. You know what happened is that we
have not seen that all year long, since we lost
the game in Toronto. We haven't seen the fact that
this team is a comeback team. This team will never

(11:51):
throw in the towel. And we were down twenty one
in the second half and came back to call it
to six. And again it's hard when you're competing on
the road. And again Johannis Lillard and Middleton getting all
the calls. If you look at the stats we took,
we made one more basket than than Milwaukee, made two
more triples, but we got crushed in the free throws.

(12:15):
So that's something. I don't want to blame it all
on the reps, no, no, but that's something. Also we
need to be a little more assertive attacking the hoop.
But again that's all you that really what what what
they all helped him Milwaukee team is that's our bench
outscored their bench by like twenty Again. Yeah, it's like really.
I mean, now you're talking about just a couple of

(12:36):
shots this way or the other way. And this is
with Janni's.

Speaker 1 (12:40):
Jannis and again you're you're talking one of our guys,
Evan Mobley, you know, had thirty eight against the Bucks
last year. So it's not like they you.

Speaker 4 (12:47):
Know, again, it doesn't mean the next game. It's a
game by game. But but yes, it's it's a good
it's a good test, I think for the Caws because
they get that little playoff feel of preparing for the
same team. Yes, after a night off and then see
you know, put the coaching staff and a little bit
on on on on on the look too, because they
got to work. And I judge obviously they are going
to a jobs. I don't know if Doug Rivers is

(13:09):
going to be. And again, we were we were going
against that cliche in basketball that said, like, you know,
the interim coach always wins the.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
First first, first game, the first game, and.

Speaker 4 (13:19):
They were playing, they were playing kind of free the
box and a little bit because.

Speaker 1 (13:22):
They really have Yeah no, I know, I thought, you know, again,
they fought hard, they clawed and you know, let's see
what happens now. And I and I have to say
that I love the I am assuming you do. I
love the two game sets. I really do that where
you stay in the.

Speaker 4 (13:39):
Same love in Miami or something.

Speaker 1 (13:42):
I love being able to unpack your suitcase, you know,
and and people that just climbing out. Man, give me
New York, all right, well give me. We were interested
in Boston. Your your favorite town in the world, you know.
But that's in the NBA because when it comes to
kool a boy, I drink, you know, I was, I drink.

(14:04):
We have some we have some beef with Adam Silver
and the NBA. Who picks the players participate on Is
it dums or is it Adam Silver for the for
like the three point shooting contest And I'm asking for
a friend. I don't know who picks that, to be honest.

Speaker 4 (14:20):
Because in my in my broadcast, I've been calling out
the commissioner, but I want to make sure I'm calling
out the white guy.

Speaker 1 (14:24):
Well because he's he's the he's the king, so he's
the one he's But like I said, you know, I
be I go back to right. I invented NBA dot com.

Speaker 4 (14:32):
As you know, I know that you invented you. You
are now going invented the Internet. But I just want
to make sure I'm asking because you had to do
with our guests today about you know, my friend is
gonna might need some help pay and get in some
attention what he's doing.

Speaker 1 (14:48):
And you know, we're gonna we're gonna talk to say
Maryland just a little bit, and uh I did. I
did an interview with him for a written piece and
he said, Rapha every morning and shoot around puts in
like an order of how many three pointers he was. Well,
then I gotta go ahead and do it. But the story,
we can talk to him about it.

Speaker 4 (15:03):
But you know, at the beginning of the season, remember
he was coming in and wasn't really making his shots,
and he wasn't getting the consistent and it's kind of
hard when you come in and play five minutes and
you have to shoot and then you know, like in
his case, he's shooting almost fifty percent forty five forty
something percent. Yeah, and but it's with a with a
little let's say volume, right, they're not they're not always

(15:27):
go in the sometime he'll miss the first two and
then hit four in a row or the other way around.
So I kept saying to him to just keep shooting it.
That's why you put that's what they put you in.
And he goes, I can't do that. It was like,
that's what they put you in for. Just keep shooting.
Because it was a game where he missed a couple
of shots and then he passed on a three point
shot and I remember j B was like over him

(15:49):
during the game and then in the post game in
the pregam, he was like, that's what you're in there.
You need to you need to shoot the dumb ball.
So to see him turn to what he is now,
those two consecutive career and nice he had, and he's
such a sweet shooter too. Men, it's like I mean,
it's a quick release. It's working on his game, working
coming off the screen, trying to again, this is a
kid that is growing.

Speaker 1 (16:10):
He's game and on the go, and you talk about
and that's why I have to so I keep.

Speaker 4 (16:14):
I just I just raised my hand whenever whenever he
gets on the balls and I put like a three
or say it you just put the number. I just
got like this. I just yeah, I don't say anything
to him. Whenever we cross paths, I'll be like, you know,
bumping on when he crossed me on the bass, I'll
be like, so, but.

Speaker 1 (16:30):
Well, when he comes in, we can. I might put
it in order for the amount, and I might make
my first public order. When you talk about playing free,
it's like, especially for a shooter, especially for a shooter
who hadn't played a lot, it's got to be a
tough thing you're coming in with. Among NBA superstars, established
superstars down to the Mitchell, there is Carlin and to

(16:52):
all of a sudden say well, hey, every time I
touch the ball or when I get an open chap,
I'm shooting shooting. And that's hard because, like you said
at first, earlier this season, he would be You could
tell he thought, man, if I missed the first couple,
my night's over. And he's looking behind him right now.
You know he came in. I think it was the
Orlando game. Man, he was in the game three seconds. Yeah,

(17:15):
the inbound shot it. I mean he got it and
went and that's how you have.

Speaker 4 (17:19):
To do it.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
I mean, that's why you happened therefore.

Speaker 4 (17:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (17:21):
Yeah, And Sam is a is a quiet guy, but.

Speaker 4 (17:23):
He's kind of are you gonna are you going to
ask him about the nickname?

Speaker 1 (17:27):
I am going to ask. I hope he does get mad.
But the nickname I love the latter.

Speaker 4 (17:32):
Day Saturday's n Franco.

Speaker 1 (17:40):
So we're gonna be up with Sam Merrill right after
the break, and uh, we'll be right back on Whining
in Gold Radio.

Speaker 4 (17:46):
Alright, this is Brad Darty Pour a Cavalier and lessend.

Speaker 8 (17:49):
Oh my goodness, and I never listened to want to
go no Wing.

Speaker 3 (17:56):
There's more of.

Speaker 9 (17:57):
This twenty of the last twenty five days for you
guys spent on the road.

Speaker 1 (18:02):
How nice is it just to be back here at home.

Speaker 4 (18:06):
Yes, it's the ocean, not one that's I'm getting Yes,
Oh do we have to.

Speaker 3 (18:11):
Do this on Wine and Gold Radio?

Speaker 10 (18:17):
Listen like all the time I'm listening through the station
station space swinging list.

Speaker 11 (18:28):
It's the stations really got me.

Speaker 1 (18:34):
As generally have a text.

Speaker 2 (18:38):
They don't say who they are Trump, but they want
to know favorite city to go to while we're on
the road for going out to dinner. Now you know
some great vegan places when the cats are on the road.

Speaker 12 (18:52):
There's a couple of New York City that are exceptional.
But Tim, you know, we go a lot of different
places and guts and you hanging out with me in Austin,
stop it now, I think because it was your time
to pay.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
Mitchell in the lane of Mobley who stuffed it.

Speaker 2 (19:08):
Oh, Evan Mobley with a big time dunk off a
beautiful feed from Mitchell.

Speaker 12 (19:13):
Did you change the subject? Yeah, I think it was
your time to pay. And Austin said, where's Where's Tim?
I said, oh, it was his turn to pay.

Speaker 4 (19:23):
Mitchell.

Speaker 2 (19:23):
This is a three.

Speaker 1 (19:24):
Now I will have a rebuttal when there's a break
in the accents.

Speaker 13 (19:34):
I'm a regular distory here, but Milwaukee has certainly had
its share of visitors. The French missionaries and explorers were
coming here as early as the late sixteen hundreds to
trade with the Native Americans.

Speaker 1 (19:45):
In fact, isn't Milwaukee Indian name Espte.

Speaker 11 (19:48):
It is.

Speaker 13 (19:49):
Actually it's pronounced Melie Walker, which is Algonquin for the
good Land.

Speaker 12 (19:54):
No.

Speaker 3 (19:55):
Back to Wine and Gold Radio.

Speaker 1 (19:58):
I was not aware of that. Okay, everybody, welcome back
to segment two of Wine Radio. Wow, we've never done that.

Speaker 14 (20:05):
We normally don't do that.

Speaker 1 (20:06):
Sam. We are joined by insane. I know We're joined
by Sam Merrill. Sam Merrill, summertime, SAMURTI. Yeah, that's gonna
be the first thing, and that Rafa has nicknamed for
everybody because I'm sure you know, are you good with summertime?

Speaker 4 (20:23):
Nah?

Speaker 14 (20:24):
Only because it's Rafa.

Speaker 4 (20:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (20:26):
Yeah, Well like I'm gonna go ahead and do it.

Speaker 4 (20:29):
Go ahead, I'm gonna go ahead and do it.

Speaker 1 (20:30):
You might get mad at me. But there was somebody
on Twitter labeled you something, and I thought it was
really kind of good, but you might not like it.
They called you the latter day Sniper, So it's creative. Sam,
Thanks for joining us. The first question I want to
ask you is has life kind of changed for you

(20:50):
a little bit since you've kind of got in the rotation.
Now you've been you know, you've been so good now
for an extended time. His life changed for you a
little bit.

Speaker 15 (21:00):
I mean it's changed from a basketball standpoint for sure,
like the mental preparation, physical preparation, whatnot. When I go
back home, it might be a little different. Yeah, you know,
start playing a lot more and what not. But I
wouldn't say too much. I'm just trying to, as Isaac says,

(21:21):
take it day by day. And I know how feeble
things are in this league. And you know, I've been
traded and waved twice and been in the G League
and whatnot. So like, I don't overreact to anything. I
just try and you focus on what's next.

Speaker 4 (21:35):
It might feel good though, because you've been working, you
bought off and you finally obviously get the opportunity take
advantage of it. But I want you to talk to
me about you have consecutive games with career nights and
then you risk kind of bugs you a little bit.
Is that the part of like the day to day
things that you need to learn to go to work

(21:56):
with you?

Speaker 14 (21:57):
Yeah, for sure.

Speaker 15 (21:58):
I mean I heard it actually in that game to Utah,
but it was you know, I was able to get
through the game just fine, and that it didn't start
really hurting until that night, and it was just incredible timing.
But and it's honestly still there are days where it's
a little sore. But yeah, that's part of it. You
have to be able to battle through stuff. And I've always,

(22:19):
you know, in high school, college, whatever, I've been able
to stay fairly healthy. And you know, I've had some
injuries since I've gotten in the NBA, which is unfortunate,
but you got to battle through it.

Speaker 1 (22:30):
You talk about the G league and bouncing back and forth.
I think I speak for the team and everybody. I mean,
I think we're at the point now where there's no
going back for you.

Speaker 4 (22:38):
You're in the.

Speaker 1 (22:39):
Rotation now, you're a valuable piece. So yeah, I think
that you're here to stay now. Does that feel kind
of good? Yeah?

Speaker 15 (22:46):
Like I said, I just I hope so. And you know,
I feel like I've obviously done enough, but I just
am you know, taken, what's the word. I'm not taking
it for granted for sure, Like I'm still showing up
every day, like you know, this could flip just like that,
because I've seen that happen.

Speaker 4 (23:04):
For us that don't play basketball. You know, we look
at it a different way. But you know, I when
Sam started getting into the rotation, I've been making a
request every morning doing short and he's been fulfilling like
almost every request. I just like put a hand, put
an order in, put a number in, and then you know,
I just he has exsidered it a couple of times.

Speaker 1 (23:23):
But I know that's true because the last time I
interviewed Sam for a written piece, he said, well, Rafa
wanted four threes. I'm almost positive you had four threes.
That night. Yeah, yeah, yeah, filling your order out. It's
all for working back. Can we have eight for tomorrow?
Because it was probably so the other night in the
locker room, and then this has been a kind of
a common thing, and it you know, you're kind of

(23:45):
a modest guy, so it embarrasses you a little bit.
But your teammates are really pushing hard for the three
point contest. They want to get you into three point contest.
And it's not a joke. I mean, you're I think
you're number three in the East, you know, and your
numbers keep going up. He also talked about maybe you'd
rather go golfing that week or something. Would you like
to be in the three point contest?

Speaker 15 (24:03):
I mean, if I got invited, obviously, it would be
an incredible honor, right.

Speaker 14 (24:07):
I don't think it's gonna happen.

Speaker 15 (24:10):
I mean I've played twenty games, I'm not super well known,
and you know, if I did get invited, I mean
it'd be hard to say no to that, obviously, but
I also wouldn't wouldn't be angry like RAF and I
love playing golf.

Speaker 14 (24:25):
Yeah, I've had some.

Speaker 4 (24:27):
Plan three point shooting contest or around at a ghosta National.
You know, well they prepare for that, but I don't
know if you know about the power of that that
with the Wine and Gold radio show, has you know
we started with the howl for them Wade every time
he makes a buckle. Don't know if you heard it
on the on the at the field House. What else
did we do?

Speaker 1 (24:46):
Well, we're trying to get a monkey for a halftime.
If we fail installed, well installed, so now we fail?
Are you sure we can't?

Speaker 4 (24:52):
The hair of Metro park Zoo said, don't count on me.
It is okay.

Speaker 1 (24:56):
Well yeah, so we didn't get the monkey, but we're
very influential. So I mean if you need me, you know,
if you do want to push it through, well we
used to do it.

Speaker 4 (25:03):
We already started a campaign. Check this out Merril Latino, trace.

Speaker 1 (25:12):
Your summer time and fuaggo. You see some marrio, no man.

Speaker 5 (25:19):
On creaming trying Tayoto, Yes, very starting con tres cello,
tamopian or comicionado, some merio quattro, the quadronte quarto partisan,
polo mano punto.

Speaker 15 (25:34):
Is there anything better than a Spanish announcer?

Speaker 1 (25:38):
I don't know what he's saying.

Speaker 14 (25:39):
It's perfect, Oh, it's so beautiful.

Speaker 1 (25:42):
Have you ever been in a three point contest of
any Kindy, No, I've never done, okay anything, because I
was thinking you'd you'd be great in three point contest
just because you have such a quick release and I mean,
you know, I mean you're kind of built perfect for that,
you know, no wasted movement. Uh, I think you do great.

Speaker 4 (25:59):
What do you think?

Speaker 14 (26:00):
Yeah, I think I would too.

Speaker 15 (26:02):
Something for the Yeah, I know the guys that do
it generally at least a day or two before we'll
work on it, because I've heard Desmond Baine was talking
about how it's hard. Yeah, because that's like you get
a minute I think twenty seven threes.

Speaker 1 (26:17):
Now like another, yeah you got another.

Speaker 15 (26:19):
Yeah exactly to extra like you got to you gotta
get going. So yeah, you would definitely have to practice
for it.

Speaker 1 (26:24):
And they say, guys, you know as they're getting to that,
you know, the third and fourth rac that they're starting
to wear down. You know, I think people at home
is not going in, yeah, exactly.

Speaker 14 (26:33):
And the basketballs they use are they're different colors.

Speaker 1 (26:36):
And their yeah, yeah, yeah, probably.

Speaker 4 (26:38):
You'd probably have to get a couple of Speaking of basketball,
you know, this team has had a whole stretch of
game since I guess since the year turn around. We
lost to Milwaukee in the twenty ninth of December, we
lost the first game of the year, and then you know,
everything has been going well for us. And what do
you think is the the reason or other than you know,

(26:58):
the unity that you guys have, you know, loosing Garland,
loosing Mobilely and and and and going on on a
streak like that.

Speaker 14 (27:06):
Yeah, I think that you're talking about the UNI. That's
that's a big thing for sure.

Speaker 4 (27:09):
I think just.

Speaker 15 (27:11):
You know, sometimes you get a lot of new guys
and trying to play a little bit of a different
style going into the season, and that stuff can be
clunky at first. And it definitely was and probably took
us a little bit to get to know each other
and and whatnot. And I think we're all completely not

(27:31):
not that guys weren't bought in, but I think we're
completely understanding what it is that we want to do
and how we want to play, and guys understand each
other now more and defensively, we really locked in, and
obviously the coaching staff has done a great job of
putting us in those positions. And so I think it's
I don't think it's Honestly, I don't think it's anything special.

(27:52):
I just think it's you know, over time, you get
better and better and then you then you gain confidence
and get new rhythm, and that's that's really helped us.

Speaker 1 (27:59):
There's an NBA cliche, you know, you know, stay ready
so you don't have to get ready, and it's a cliche.
Everybody's like, well, I'm just going to stay ready, and
you kind of blow that off, but it's true in
that you were able to hit the ground running when
your number was called. You were really ready to go,
and like I said, I think there's no looking back.
How hard is it to stay ready when you weren't

(28:20):
getting minutes and to be able to do what you
did right at it almost a moment's notice you jumped
right in.

Speaker 14 (28:27):
Yeah, it was.

Speaker 15 (28:27):
It was tough because we were at a we were
at a point to start the season. We had injuries obviously,
and so I was obviously trying to stay ready, but
understanding that like, hey, I'm I may or may not played,
and I like there were multiple games, right, I wasn't
sure if I was going to play or not. So
you're not putting in as much, you know, in your

(28:48):
individual workouts and stuff and in the way room, just
because you want to be ready for games. And then
I kind of hit a point because I played in
a couple of games, played fairly well, and then was
back to not playing, and I kind of hit a
point where I was like, Okay, I'm going to really
focus on you know, I'm going to go a little
hard in my workouts, conditioning, weight room type stuff, just
so that you know, whatever it does happen, I'm you know,

(29:09):
in great shape, and I feel like I'm in a
rhythm as a as a shooter and as a player,
and I think that really helped me. And it's it's
a hard thing to balance for sure, but I've had
a lot of practice with it.

Speaker 1 (29:23):
You talk about the weight room, and I remember we
interviewed in Summer League and you talked about how you
really worked on your body this year, and you know,
in Summer League you made a real big splash. How
much did Summer League matter heading into this season knowing
you were going to get a true shot in training
camp this year?

Speaker 14 (29:42):
Yeah, I think it was you know big what I
was able to do.

Speaker 15 (29:45):
But for me, just from a rhythm and confidence standpoint,
and felt like it was a carryover from what I
had done in the G League last year, and you
know the fact that we were able to play an
extra game and when the whole thing was a a
lot of fun and I was able to do it
against good competition, just felt like it was you know, Max,

(30:07):
I've talked about this before, but Max and I had
the same agent, and he did a very similar thing
where he had just signed a deal and he played
Summer league and had a great summer league.

Speaker 14 (30:16):
Only played three or four games, but had a great.

Speaker 15 (30:18):
Summer league, and that was kind of the momentum that
he needed going into camp, and then that year he
ended up that was his breakout year. And so that
was our same mindset going it was, let's go have
a great summer league, get some momentum going into camp,
and then go off from there.

Speaker 4 (30:36):
You mentioned Max, and obviously I know you consider yourself
one of the best shooters in the league, and you've
shown it, But in those moments when the night, when
the ball just doesn't want to go in right, it
doesn't matter what what goes through your mind, how do
you keep yourself into or keep shooting it or find
other ways or what's the process when when when the

(30:57):
ball doesn't want to go in.

Speaker 15 (30:58):
Yeah, obviously I understand what my role is and that
it's you know, I got to be able to make shots.
But I just go into every game honestly saying, like,
let's I just want to go play good, you know,
winning basketball and whatever that means. You know, I try
to defend and share the basketball and box out and
get a couple of rebounds here and there, and like,

(31:21):
you know, I had that game in Paris where I
couldn't make a thing. I'm like two for ten or
something from three, and but still try to impact the
other way charger and I think I had a career
high in rebounds that game. So you know, I'm always
going to keep shooting just because you know, common saying
is next one's In my high school coach s would
always say that. But for me, I like one believe that,

(31:43):
Like if I get a good look, I feel like
the next one's going to go in. So for me,
it's just keep shooting, keep saying aggressive, but you know,
try and impact the game in.

Speaker 14 (31:50):
Other ways as well.

Speaker 1 (31:51):
How much does it matter to you that your teammates
they want you to shoot it. I mean they they want,
you know, when you get in the game, they want
you to take every shot that you can when you're open.
And we're talking guys like Donovan Mitchell, superstar guys that
they love feeding you. They want you to succeed. How
much does that mean to you having your teammates just
say green light.

Speaker 14 (32:09):
Yeah, I think it's really important. It's really helped me.

Speaker 4 (32:13):
You know.

Speaker 15 (32:13):
The first probably the best example that was that game
against Houston when you know it's overtime and we're up
four whatever, and Donovan throws it ahead to me in transition,
which you don't always do in overtime and have the
confidence in me to go shoot that.

Speaker 14 (32:29):
We try and have that.

Speaker 15 (32:30):
Not not just meet with everybody, And yeah, I think
I think that's how you have to play, no matter
who it is, whether it's a shooter or no shooter.
Like I believe, if you just trust the game and
play the game the right way, it'll it'll come back,
It'll come back.

Speaker 14 (32:44):
Around, and things will work itself out. So really grateful
for all those guys.

Speaker 4 (32:48):
You know what I mean. Walking between this like home
and home, I guess.

Speaker 12 (32:52):
You call that.

Speaker 4 (32:52):
Yeah, Baseball's there I might as well make the fake
the first public order. I'm going for six tomorrow. Six. Yeah,
let's do it. I've been bringing it up four five,
I could hit six. I don't know. I mean, it's
a town that you played in. You became a champion
in this city, so why not just like the hands
a little heavy with the two rings?

Speaker 15 (33:12):
Now, Yeah, they do a good job of you know,
me and Max had to work for the threes we got.

Speaker 4 (33:20):
I was going to ask you how different it is now,
because it seems that at the beginning they were like,
you know, let's let him shoot it, let's see what happens.
And now it seems that they are trying to close
that space between between Europe and the defender.

Speaker 14 (33:32):
Yeah, especially in Milwaukee.

Speaker 15 (33:33):
They last week, I mean they were completely running me
off the line in the game, and same similar thing
last night. So you gotta work and you gotta find
your ways to get open and uh so we'll see
what happens marow night.

Speaker 1 (33:45):
When we say, yeah, so you saw a lot of
old teammates last night. You talked about Pat Canton and Johannes.
Were they happy for you because you're a different guy
than you were then?

Speaker 15 (33:54):
Yeah, Gianni's mentioned something. Bobby Chris, all those guys, bro
they all you know, obviously the game before I had eight,
so they had seen the film on that. But yeah,
it's it's cool to cool to seeing cool to hear
from them.

Speaker 10 (34:11):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (34:11):
And you and you had a relationship with not a relationship,
but you've you've known Donovan before all this, right, going
back to your Utah State days.

Speaker 15 (34:18):
Yeah, a little bit, not super well, but we'd played
pick up a couple of times, and.

Speaker 14 (34:23):
Obviously he was a you know, people loved him back
in Utah.

Speaker 11 (34:27):
Uh.

Speaker 14 (34:28):
And he I'm sure you guys know this.

Speaker 15 (34:31):
He's really good at like getting out of the community,
going to He goes to high school games all the time,
Like he came up to Utah State and went to
a football game. Like he does a great job of that.

Speaker 4 (34:40):
Yeah. Man, a a have you ever met a Canadian
that never played hockey?

Speaker 1 (34:47):
But I imagine no, no, right, Dristan maybe, but yeah,
I'm sure, Yeah, it's case.

Speaker 4 (34:53):
This guy right here is from Utah, one of the
most beautiful areas in the world for skiing, and has
never one skied in his life.

Speaker 1 (35:02):
I have skied. I'm Fromalva though, and I skied before.
I have nothing to say, but because I've never skied
my life really, never never been out of pair of
skis or snowboarded.

Speaker 4 (35:11):
Really nothing with nono.

Speaker 14 (35:14):
Wow, that's been sledding a few times.

Speaker 4 (35:16):
Yeah, I always ask you before because is that that
that had anything to do with you didn't want to
get hurt once you started playing basketball?

Speaker 14 (35:23):
Or I did that by the time I was in
high school.

Speaker 15 (35:26):
Yeah, but I just I never did it as a kid,
and then when I was by the time I was ten, eleven, twelve,
Like you would go on Saturdays, right, but I was
always playing basketball on Saturdays. So and then when I
got to high school, I was like, I don't want
to get hurt, and now I'd probably be bad at it,
so I'd be neburrassed.

Speaker 4 (35:44):
And another interesting thing about Samy, he's fluent in Spanish.

Speaker 10 (35:47):
We do.

Speaker 1 (35:48):
How was that experience in Nicaraga for you?

Speaker 4 (35:50):
How long were you there?

Speaker 14 (35:51):
I was there for two years, that was all I mentioned.
For two years.

Speaker 15 (35:54):
I was in Nicago for about twenty one month. Sish
incredible experien parients obviously very different from the United States,
of course, uh having to get immersed in a new culture,
and learn a new language on the spot, like I didn't.
I didn't really know any going into it. Uh and
then obviously the you know what I was down there.

Speaker 4 (36:16):
Well with the purpose of the trip.

Speaker 15 (36:17):
So it was it was a it was a church
mission for the Church of Jesus Christ Laturday Saints, and
we just you know, you spend all your time just
teaching people and we're just walking around. I probably we
tried to do the math once. I probably walked from
Salt Lake to California and back. Wow, like because where

(36:39):
I was at we didn't have cars or bikes anything.
So we're just walking around. You're just meeting people, talking
to them, inviting them to you know, go to church
or listen to the message that you have, and trying
to do a bunch of service as well. So really
humbling experience. But uh W when trade it.

Speaker 4 (36:53):
Well, that's the biggest and you say humbling, like shocking
experience to see what different world it's outside of what
we were living in. I mean I don't always say
you were living in comfort, but anywhere outside the United States,
when you when you compare it to you know, below Mexico,
Central America, below even in Mexico, it's a huge.

Speaker 1 (37:13):
Difference for sure.

Speaker 15 (37:14):
I mean cold showers, didn't didn't take a warm shower,
uh from the barrel.

Speaker 14 (37:20):
Yeah, I mean.

Speaker 15 (37:22):
That you're not always drinking clean water. And then seeing
as you know, like Nikola was extremely poor, so like
seeing what a lot of those people had to go through,
and a lot of people are have dirt floors and
their houses, you know, six by six type of stuff.

Speaker 14 (37:43):
So uh, it's tough.

Speaker 15 (37:45):
But I always say, like, nothing I do here will
ever be as tough as those two years from from
an emotional, mental, and even physical standpoint.

Speaker 4 (37:58):
Thank you for doing it.

Speaker 1 (37:58):
Man, if talking Latter Day Saints and Sam knows this
is coming, Latter Day Sniper, the Latter Day Sniper. We
got the lead Latter Day Saint guy in my area.
I'm from Kurtland, Ohio, which is a hub of can
we say Mormons, Yeah, you can do the same thing, okay.

Speaker 10 (38:16):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (38:16):
Anyway, the guy out there, he's constantly breaking my jobs
about when are we getting Sam out here? So now
I have to intern break Sam chops about getting him
out to the Kirtland to see the temple and Joseph
Smith's house and of course the Alamo.

Speaker 14 (38:31):
So yeah, so I've had visitors.

Speaker 15 (38:32):
You know, my family's been out here, my wife's family,
a couple other friends have been out here, and they've
all gone out there.

Speaker 14 (38:39):
Okay, I just haven't had the time yet. So have
the way to talk.

Speaker 1 (38:42):
Okay, we got to get you out there, exactly right.
I told him about that. And we have great golf
courses out there too, so we got to get you
out there. One last thing, I just want to ask
about chemistry. You talk about chemistry and camaraderie and stuff
like that you've been on This is like your third
NBA team. Is this different than situations you've been in before?
Is this chemistry or this group? How are they different?

(39:04):
And how are they different?

Speaker 4 (39:06):
Yeah?

Speaker 14 (39:06):
I mean.

Speaker 15 (39:08):
Milwaukee was, you know, we obviously had good enough chemistry
to win a title, but it was a lot of
older guys and so most of the guys had families
and whatnot, and so it was a pretty quiet group.

Speaker 14 (39:21):
And then Memphis was.

Speaker 15 (39:24):
You know, I was only there for five six months,
but that was a great culture and chemistry.

Speaker 14 (39:30):
The guys really got along.

Speaker 15 (39:32):
And you know, something changed down there, but I don't
know exactly what, but not quite like that. Maybe it
is now but it, you know, broke off for a
little bit and then but here, like I think guys
generally genuinely care about each other. And there's definitely the
most communication off the floor that I've had, and I think.

Speaker 14 (39:54):
That's really important.

Speaker 1 (39:55):
What do you attribute that to.

Speaker 15 (39:57):
It's just all have a good guy's, high high character guys,
and we definitely have a lot of those here.

Speaker 4 (40:03):
And speaking of Cleveland and the city, you're enjoying your
time in the city. You got any favorite spot.

Speaker 14 (40:09):
Yeah, it's a little a little cold right now.

Speaker 4 (40:11):
Yeah, but you can't be complaining about cold.

Speaker 15 (40:14):
But it's uh, yeah, it's been it's a different goal. Yeah,
for sure, it's been good. I didn't I didn't get
out a lot last year. I didn't have my car
for like the first two months of the G League season. So, uh,
we've been able to get out a little bit more.
Of the parks along the lake are nice, some good
golf courses out here.

Speaker 14 (40:34):
It's a it's a great spot.

Speaker 1 (40:36):
Awesome, Sam. We want to thank you so much for
coming on Wind and Gold Radio. All you got to
do now is hit six three pointers tomorrow night. Otherwise you'll, yeah,
you'll otherwise you'll suffer the wrath of rock.

Speaker 4 (40:46):
See you in Indy.

Speaker 1 (40:48):
I'll do my best.

Speaker 4 (40:50):
And that's the problem is not even in a town
where you can actually go and play golf in between them.

Speaker 14 (40:54):
To believe me, I know, Sam Meryl, thank you so
much time, Thanks guys, thank you.

Speaker 4 (41:01):
N Hey.

Speaker 7 (41:03):
This is my crump Enterna hosts for your Cleveland Cavaliers
and I will never and the crump means never listen.

Speaker 4 (41:13):
To Whine and Gold Radio. I mean, what.

Speaker 3 (41:18):
There's more of this, mad, I.

Speaker 15 (41:19):
Got two guns, one for the both of you.

Speaker 1 (41:22):
Ye see, girl, there you.

Speaker 3 (41:24):
Go after this on Wine and Gold Radio.

Speaker 11 (41:35):
This portion of the show is being brought to you
by lint. Yes, when searching for something loose and fuzzy
with which to fill their navels, more people choose lint
than any other type of foreign matter. And lint is
great for collecting at the bottom of your pocket or purse.
So when you're looking for something to stuff in your
belly button, take our hint.

Speaker 3 (41:53):
Go with lint.

Speaker 4 (42:00):
Hey.

Speaker 9 (42:01):
This is Keatn's be for Porter Chris Fiedor. I never
listened to one in Gold radio, does anyone? I mean,
there are so many other options these days, including my
own podcast that has a very similar name.

Speaker 1 (42:13):
If I were you, I just listened to that.

Speaker 3 (42:16):
No, back to Wine and Gold Radio.

Speaker 1 (42:19):
I'm a man, I'm forty. Okay, that was the great
Sam Merrill.

Speaker 2 (42:24):
What a great kid.

Speaker 1 (42:25):
What is it? The latter day Snipe, the latter day Sniper?

Speaker 4 (42:27):
Man?

Speaker 1 (42:29):
We need to get credit to whoever call him that.
I wish I could remember. I wish I could remember it.
I thought, what if I.

Speaker 4 (42:34):
Call them if we can credit?

Speaker 1 (42:36):
Yes, exactly, We'll give you some tickets. Because I was wondering.
I thought, what if I call him that and he's like, hey, man,
that ain't cool that. Yeah, I wouldn't call me and
I wouldn't call Max Strews anything like that, because maybe
I come over to the table.

Speaker 4 (42:48):
Yeah, before we go on, can we post on second
for our affiliates to identify themselves?

Speaker 1 (42:54):
Just do it, Hi, this is easy money base and
you're listening to Wine and Go Radio, Cleveland, Ohio in America. Okay,
coming up, you know we got the We have the
Milwaukee game obviously tomorrow and then home for a couple
coming home, coming home. That's a big one. That's gonna
be a big one on Monday.

Speaker 4 (43:12):
I'd love to get they're gonna do a video three,
A video, a video trevia to.

Speaker 1 (43:17):
No, he's been back a few times, so Lebron and
sometimes the Clippers communicating.

Speaker 4 (43:22):
Lebroun and we do we do a trivia to Lebron.
When he doesn't come, we do a trevia to Lebron.

Speaker 1 (43:27):
But he's Lebron, so it's a little different. And we
did that one for Colin Sex and like.

Speaker 4 (43:31):
Yeah, I like to know, I was a little disappointed
Jetty's video. I thought it was a little weak.

Speaker 1 (43:38):
Do other you know what now that I think about that,
now that you mentioned that, I don't remember.

Speaker 4 (43:42):
Other cities doing doing that.

Speaker 1 (43:43):
Yeah, you know, like, hey, thanks, who do we have
anything video?

Speaker 4 (43:48):
Do anything for me? And when we went to Philly,
he ain't does his own thing. Man Max Truce got
Tom in Miami. Miami, Yeah yeah they did for the
first time out.

Speaker 1 (44:00):
Yeah all right, so either way, we have the Miami game,
then we're home for a couple of the Pistons on Wednesday,
and then we depart for another right after the game,
right after the game, and then back to back, which
we didn't have one of in all of January. What
do you mean we're gonna be loaded to get ask
in the second half. But the big I think other

(44:20):
than playing we have Memphis uh on the second game
of the back to back, then we have an off day,
then we uh, then we play the Spurs. But the
big event is the wrap up birthday celebrates. It's really
on an off day in San Antonio. So and we're
right there on the Mud River water River, the Muddy River,

(44:42):
and we're right there by.

Speaker 4 (44:43):
The Antonio Rancho Grande. Because it feels like I'm a
big somebody.

Speaker 1 (44:48):
I love San Antonio. A lot of people don't.

Speaker 4 (44:50):
I don't. I think we should go have dinner at
which is probably the yah, let's do it and then uh,
hopefully I'm not.

Speaker 1 (44:58):
Are you gonna Are you gonna im vibe on your birthday?

Speaker 4 (45:03):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (45:05):
Okay, all right, because we've gotten you drunk before times
and it's been really ugly in Charlotte.

Speaker 4 (45:13):
That was yeah, that was That was the time when
I looked like I think they was calling for like
the zombie apocalypse when they saw this man knocking on
the window begging the pizza lady to sell to sell
me whatever.

Speaker 1 (45:26):
Pizza she had to, like, we're out. They're like, no,
you know you got slices over there. It's like, for
those who don't know, Rafa no longer is the party
animal that he was back in New York City. He's
now we call him Celery Rap. He's all healthy and
he doesn't like to drink and all that stuff. We
like to take him out and get him all plastered.

(45:46):
And in Charlotte we got him hammered and he went
right back to drunk. One oh one standing outside a
pizza parlor at two in the morning, knocking on the glass. Ladies,
I'm closed, the register is closed. It's okay, I have
a hundred dollar bill. Just give me whatever pizza you
up there. And then I don't know if it was
the birthday before that or after that. We celebrated in Cleveland.

Speaker 4 (46:07):
Before before then, I almost I almost did a thin flight.

Speaker 1 (46:10):
The next day that was another pizza and Sode was yeah, I.

Speaker 4 (46:12):
Almost missed it. And by the way, just so you
guys know that time, I was the peacemaker because you
and three other people were fighting over well, somebody came in.
We were then at Edison and it's kind of like
takes four hours to get the pizza pizza, and so
we put our pie on top of they have like

(46:34):
a popcorn machine there the people.

Speaker 1 (46:36):
So we put a pie there and it was you know,
John and.

Speaker 4 (46:38):
His wife was there, Uh who else was there with?
And then we saw this group of three gentlemen, three
guys come in and one of them just grab a
splice and nobody really said anything until you went over
the guy.

Speaker 1 (46:54):
I grabbed the slides and threw it in the garbage.
That was so but take somebody's peace. So started flying.

Speaker 4 (47:04):
And I'm on the other side talking to John's wife
and I excuse me one second. So I go in there,
get in the middle, and I'm like, dude, no, no, no, no,
no fighting. And this guy is strong at me and
I barely. I almost, I almost avoided the points, but
I didn't hit me right on the chin. And nobody
told me that. I had a whole strip of blood

(47:24):
going from my nose all the way to my mouth.
Dry obviously, because it was like three in the morning
by the time, and I got home and I had
this red dry thing grubbing that my But that was
my first time. I was a peacemaker too.

Speaker 1 (47:39):
And then you're hanging with the guy, right, I said, hey,
let I said hey, they even gave me a dummy. Friends,
let's go, let's go outside smoking with the obow.

Speaker 4 (47:47):
You know how innocent I am about changing my lifestyle
from experimenting to to no new things to like nothing.
We were outside and this guy pulled out a bag
of gummies and he was like, I literally thought that
would go me theres Yeah, and I just put it
in my pocket And thank god I didn't. I didn't
think that, like I want to, I don't want to

(48:08):
go me right now?

Speaker 1 (48:08):
What happened to you? Man? I know we have so
much fun if you just if you just went back.

Speaker 4 (48:13):
To I'm waiting for Ohio to recognize the voice of
the people and legalize it.

Speaker 1 (48:20):
Talk about right, I mean I thought this was a
changing We bought it already, so what I mean I
thought this was settled. I should be able to go
back this weekend. And yeah, I mean we got champion.
We got an NFL championship weekend.

Speaker 4 (48:32):
You know, my wife was told and maybe by the
end of twenty twenty four, but.

Speaker 1 (48:37):
The vote was months ago. Man. Either way, yeah, either way,
I'm not happy about that, right, But yeah, we'll have
my We'll have my birthday in San Antonio's birthday celebration,
and uh, we're gonna do a show. We should do that.
We should do a show when we get back to
the hotel.

Speaker 14 (48:53):
Let's do that.

Speaker 1 (48:54):
Let's okay. I'm going to hold you to that. I'm
gonna hold you to that.

Speaker 4 (48:58):
See how that sounds?

Speaker 1 (48:59):
Okay, listeners, if Rafa does that show sober, just know
that that you should be disappointed, and I'll be disappointed.
So Rafa's birthday show on February second, Groundhog's Day, the
Groundhog's Day, and that's Ralpha Day. Hey, why don't we
say uh some thank yous and get the hell out
of here, get ready for our game tomorrow Night six.

(49:21):
We have to thank the pr department, led by bj Evans,
who obviously runs the whole thing with Oh, the iron fist,
I heard the fair. I heard he had to bring
it down a couple of times in Oh, yes, in
Paris to pull the those Frenchies fair.

Speaker 4 (49:41):
I forget where the fist is the fair?

Speaker 1 (49:43):
And then we have to thank the straw that stirs
the drink, Cherome Owens Milwaukee from Milwaukee for its son. Right,
we kept him from his family. That's how dedicated Romey is.
He could have gone to see his family, but instead
he stuck around at his job. He's the best slinging
Sammy who will be on the road trip. Maybe we
can get him a little hammered. I would love to
see that. Yeah, so let's get slinging Sammy, who's great kid,

(50:07):
a good friend of Wine and Gold Radio. And then
Sophomore of the Year, my favorite Devin Booker book. I
don't know whatever title will be next year, but she'll
be that. You'll always be the year She'll be whatever.

Speaker 4 (50:21):
We'll keep making it up. After senior, I don't know
what happened.

Speaker 1 (50:24):

went to Paris too. Yeah, so did she brings you enjoy?

in the business.

Speaker 4 (50:39):
I'm sure Joe happy, sure, we bet im and everything. Okay.

Speaker 1 (50:43):

engineering stuff, he wore his asshole, Betty, I'll bet he he.

Speaker 4 (50:49):
I can guarantee you that he was one of the
guys that saw the least of the Studio.

Speaker 1 (50:55):
Paris, I'm sure, and to his credit, everything came out.

Speaker 4 (50:58):
Christal, even though were like, you know, the different electricity there,
like burn a couple of our mixers and so we
were able to get on the air and.

sounded great. We have to thank our community leader, Lucy Vera,
the one I.

Speaker 4 (51:15):
Was angry she wasn't in Paris.

Speaker 1 (51:16):

Speaker 4 (51:18):
But you you didn't want to go.

Speaker 1 (51:21):
Okay anyway, that's Lucy Various, the best human being in Cleveland. Uh,
the second best human being in Cleveland, d.

Speaker 4 (51:28):
Mac Man lately, I when you when you talk about them,
you have to put the Rocky song now.

Speaker 1 (51:37):
Exactly that dude, he is the other Tiger now. Absolutely,
I don't want to hear another Tiger. I don't want
to hear I don't want to hear my cookie cat.

Speaker 4 (51:46):
But I'm proud of it. I'm proud of the Max
Man because he's really making a lifestyle change and getting
healthy for his wife and his kids and setting an
example too, because that that's the kind of stuff that
inspired me to lose weight, you know, and that was
three hundred pounds. I saw a friend of mine that
was almost my size, and he was like wearing this
tailor suit and like, dude, you tell me what you did,
because I'm doing it.

Speaker 1 (52:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (52:07):
I don't know what the he'd been doing.

Speaker 1 (52:10):
He did the Disney.

Speaker 4 (52:11):
Yeah, he did the Disney five k k or half man,
I forget what it was. And he raised money for
for for an organization and no kids hungry.

Speaker 1 (52:20):
So are you finally starting to come around and to
see he's still see the brilliance of DC.

Speaker 4 (52:24):
