Speaker 1 (00:00):
He tweet, take a good name record. Then we have
a superson b J mix it within dizzyasm and that's
the Superson today. M H. Max goes on the viality.
(00:27):
Whose ball dropped my Garland Rubio? Oh behind the back,
Rubyo thinks pitcher for three. That's all we do, Ricky
Rubio cooking broadcasting live from Rocket Mortgage field House on
the sunny shores of beautiful Lake Erie. Look up and
(00:51):
see with your quarters. And if I don't call it,
don't leave it. In Mena in downtown Cleveland. You tuned
in to Wine and Gold Radio. Yes, clean, No, you're
(01:15):
your host. Rafa and Joji can't take it anymore. Hey,
we're popping brew. The show's a strange. Hey, everybody, welcome
to Wine and Gold Radio. Episode Something's episode Caden's we're
(01:39):
on the seven game win streak and uh I am
Joe g to my right back to normal? Is Rafa
Hernandez Buddito. What's just thinking? Man? That's the cadence have
anything to do with the streak that it has everything
to do with this everybody talking about the fight and
everything everything revolves around with out of doing shows on
(02:01):
a consystem basis I'm telling you things are happening. Are
you starting to feel it and that the team is winning.
We're getting our songs played, We're getting our sound effects played,
We're getting raouled, Tony's name switched. Pretty soon, we're gonna
have our We're gonna have our ranking for half time. Dude,
We're taking over. Why radio is taken over like that?
We I like when I see results result later they
(02:25):
can be but we're seeing results of Hey, caps coming off. Hey,
every win is nice. This wasn't quite as convincing and
solid is some of the wins, but it's in the
w column. I think at the end of the day,
it is one. It is a lot better than what
what what usually happened to teams that play a team
(02:46):
that have on a twelve game losing streak on the
road from for forever and on a streak and everything
like that. You know, eggs are laid in the NBA
opens on a nightly basis, and I was said, it
is a trip game. They did what they were supposed
to do, which come out and punch them in the
in the in the gut right off the bat, right.
But then they did what they have been doing before
(03:09):
we went on a street which is take the foot
of the gas and and and the wors you can
do to a win wounded animal, I wounded team like
that is to give them hope that they can actually
pull it off. They did better, They shot better in
the second half. You know, defensively, I think that's what
always comes out for the calf that that's that's that's
how that's that's what feeds our offense. But we we
(03:32):
made some mistakes. I'm pretty sure nobody was happy with
with with the effort, but they were happy with the results.
But then you have to keep in mind that this
is our fifth game in what nine days, seven days
or whatever. It was ridiculous like that. I mean, we
played Sunday Monday, Wednesday five Saturday Monday, and we're gonna
(03:53):
play Wednesday again. So and that's we're gonna be crawling
into the All Star break. And when when when we
go back, We come back against Denver and we traveled
that night to go face Atlanta the day after, So
nobody feels sorry for you. And at the end of
the day, like you said, we added on the right
column and that's what we can worry about. And you
don't want to look ahead. And and you know, it's
(04:13):
the NBA eighty two game season, so regular season games
don't meet a ton always, but Wednesday's game in Philly
should be a really good one. A lot of time,
I mean to be honest, I over the years, some
really good games right before the break, teams leave a
lot of you know, they kind of let it all
out right before the break. So I'm really really looking
(04:36):
forward to Wednesday's game in Philly, and I think both
teams are gonna treat that I would say like a
playoff game, but they're gonna treat that one. They're gonna
take that one very seriously. You think it was a
big game day for the Cabs. Charlotte beat Atlanta, Utah
beat Indiana, Denver beat Miami, the Knicks beat Brooklyn, so
(04:57):
we you know, that's the closest team behind us, and
Philadelphia won their game. So, like you said, Wednesday is
gonna be And Donovan Mitchell said it at the end
of the game when when he was talking to Serena Winters,
that it's a playoff game. And then again, remember this
is the this is the game similar to what we
had against Miami, and that is the game that we're
talking about, and j B says that it's not the
(05:18):
fight on February two against the against the christ Lias.
Is the loss against Miami that got this team a
little annoyed because of the airport they put forth and
because it was the first time they were playing a
game that could be considered a playoff game. Because this
is at the end of the day, we're already in
a situation where you're gonna look back and say, man,
remember that game and the game, but now forget about
(05:39):
those Now you are what they're usually in baseball, call
it in bable. They own their destiny. They can you know,
they are in fourth place with a nice comfortable lead
over fifth place, and in sixth place now and they
just can't look ahead. You know, again, the scoreboards will
say what we can. We have the luxury to look
at the score board. They just have to make sure
(06:00):
they take care of what they can handle, which is
the opponent that night. And tonight they slipped a little bit.
But Ricky Ruby once again, Man, yeah, he comes off
the bench and he just he's just a monster, you
know what I mean, He's almost like an adult. I mean,
he kind of comes in, he like, gets everything settled down,
calms everything down, you know. So I think, you know,
had they dropped this one tonight, I was really never
(06:22):
totally concerned, but had they dropped the one, to say Antonio,
that would have been and they couldn't not to four,
which was kind of tricky too close after being up
to one. But you could tell and you could sense
the which I like, you know, Joe, the ability that
the team has to turn it up and knock it
up when they that that not every no, not everything
(06:43):
can do that, and I could realize that's like, okay,
you know the thing that happened with Chicago when we
were down, the thing that happened tonight, And many a
couple of times we've been okay, now let's let's get
back to let's get back to things. But I love
and I don't know the numbers of this, but I
love the combination of Godland, each Oll and Ruby on
the court. And we have seen that really good moments
(07:04):
with the squad, especially they're playing with Alan and on
the on the they were monsters in the first quarter.
The reason we had a fifteen point leader after one
was because Moubili and Island were eating their lunch and
dinner in the paint. Yeah, and it's again, it's natural
to take your foot off the gas, especially after like
after a stretch like they've had really difficult. You know,
who's not tired. You're tired. I'm a little tired. You're
(07:26):
really tired because you've been on the road. You know,
it's not tired. The guy went snowboarding in Canada last week.
That's who's not tired. The Golden boil, let's bringing them. Yeah,
he was up in Kodiak Valley. Who's to say I'm
not tired. Yeah, well you're not tired from bass Where? Where?
(07:48):
Where were you in? Where? BAMF National Park about an
hour and a halfway from Calgary. Oh wow, he was
snowboarding cold. It actually wasn't bad. It was high twenties,
low thirties. Son was peeking it in out. So do
you ever ski or you just never skied? My life,
I've been I've never skied age life either, really never
(08:11):
not Once I thought how young you are, I've never
what's that? You never ski? I've never skied. I've never
ridden a horse. I've never been on a horse either. Yeah,
I know, coming coming from Garfield, believe I ain't no,
but yeah, I've never had to never had some kids
from Garfield Field High School future Rhodes scholars. Yeah, they
(08:31):
will talking to me about the country club and what
are they talking about? How about you know what they
talking about, Joe Gabriel trophy. Then we're competing to be
in the question on Olympic team. So what do you
got for us? Mat Gold? I mean, I feel like
we need to talk about the trend deadline a little bit.
(08:52):
It was just last Thursday. We do we do? Is
there a number? It seems like all at once really
in the last half hour to an hour, everything just
kind of was set off. But was there anything in
particular that surprised you? Is there a movie like more
than others? Well, I mean the k D move obviously
(09:13):
that it's so obvious, but that takes a team. Again,
We've we beat the Suns twice this year and they
when we were depleted both times, and they didn't impress
me that much either time. This puts them right to
the top of the Western Conference in my opinion, it
puts them right to the top of the West. Yeah. Absolutely, Again,
(09:33):
they've done it before. It's not like, uh, you know
the sons have been to the finals. They were in
the finals two years ago. They're they're ready. He you know,
Durant's been there. I think they are. It makes them
the favorite. They're sitting they're sitting fifth, nine games back
of of first, four games back of the second seed.
(09:54):
So they have some work to do. Yeah. There again,
when when you're, like we should say with Lebron, when
you're that good, get in the playoffs and then worry
about it. At the same time, though, and I've been
wanted to ask you this, somebody mentioned about the era
of the big team, the three being over obviously the
songs of the obsception and if you look at the
(10:15):
teams like in the in the top on each division,
which conference in Boston built by the draft, Milwaukee Raft,
Philadelphia obviously is not US Miami, and then on the
other side Denver, right, Memphis, Sacramento. So it's like, you know,
(10:37):
I don't know, well, like look at the small market
and how long at the small markets because you don't
want how long do those big teams last? Right? And
that this is another situation where Finnish puts himself in
a situation where they have what I mean, drounded thirt
five years old. Right, But again they have all the
you're talking about one guy to put him over the
bad You're talking about one guy to put him over.
(10:57):
But I'm saying, but they have a window. Well, this
is the next season, and that's fine. Again, when you're
going for a title, would you trade that our title
for six or years of hope? You take the title?
And that's what they're thinking is let's get the title
and been able to hit. But but I don't think
(11:18):
I don't think. I don't think they're but I don't
think they're like that team. I don't think they went
out to assemble a super three. I think they have
great players and added another great player they have, I
mean they have, they have to like they you don't
know what's Chris Paul's only getting older. The DeAndre Aytan
situation is it doesn't seem great, like he signed an
(11:42):
offer sheet and doesn't really seem like he wants to
be there. No, and don't seem like they want him
to be there exactly. Yeah, maybe they don't direct like
you said, rough as he's getting older, he's had a
couple of injuries the last couple of seasons, and then
I mean to, but I mean, I just think, like
if any move puts a team really moves the team up,
(12:05):
I think it's that one. I think that one's it sure,
Like as far as I don't know, maybe a whole
team goes that move makes Phoenix probably wholly better than Dallas,
right with Kyrie and Luca, Like those are two of
the some of the two best. Yeah, everything, I think. Yeah,
I like Denver a lot too. I need to see
(12:25):
how the Kyrie things works out. But I do think
this about the situation in Dallas, and then I think Kyrie,
they're going to get the best Kyrie because I think
he's gonna be on his best behavior until the end
of the season. I think he's gonna hey, next year,
who knows, But I think they're gonna get Kyrie wanting
to be on his best behavior, wanting to do everything right.
(12:46):
I watched his postgame interview after his first game, and
he he was just gung hold answer every he said.
He told a reporter that's a good question when asking something. There.
I mean, he feels respected and he feels like they
appreciate that's right. Yeah, until next year. But yeah, so,
I mean, but I think Mark Cuba, and that's something.
(13:06):
Well again, the first time he sees a dude with
a ten gallant had booing him. I don't know how that.
So you know that the first game he played with Luca,
he had not an incident but a situation where Luca
kept the ball and with Kyrie wide open in the
corner to finish the game, to shoot for the win,
and Luca said at the end, maybe I should have
passed it to Kayrie. But you know, you've got to
(13:26):
learn those situations, Luca. I don't think they have enough.
I just don't think that was to do anything. They
have two great players, but especially now we look up
playing fifteen minutes again, right, no size, you know, so
they got to shoot it. They cannot have a north night, right,
they cannot have a forty percent night, which is not
(13:47):
a formula for success in the playoffs. That's you leave
and die and most of the time you die with
in the playoffs. So yeah, that's that was. What do
you do? You like? What the Lakers do? I do?
I mean again, we just talked about we need to
see it how it plays out in the trend. Deadline
was less than a week away, but Lebron hasn't pay
(14:08):
you think, do you think he's hurt hurt or Bran,
I don't know. I don't know what they what they
tell you because he was grabbing his foot at the
end of the game where he broke the record, and
I have you seen the edit where where they have
to play and when he goes and shooting, you see
you see Karim come from the back from behind and
(14:29):
like top of the ball. And then they switched to
the time with the scene of Lebron complaining about the
no file call against the against the Celtics and then
Karrely just sitting in the back like I love the brand.
But that performance he did after that Celtics loss was
I'm surprised. It's not a meme like Bryan Jordan's. There
(14:50):
was like kabuki theater man. He just he was like
that proved that nobody will ever take over the crying
Jordan's No, that's true. They although there I've seen the
Nick Sirianni crank to the national anthem. Yeah, but that
that I wouldn't make fun of that dude, and that
if you didn't root for the Eagles after seeing the
way that guy, because that's what I would do it.
(15:11):
There's a lot of tears man for the national anthem. Man,
you that's how you how much he feels it. You
know what it is to imagine. Imagine if imagine if
that the dude with no legs that does a national
anthem in Philly. The veteran came out and sang yeah,
but he would have been a puddle. But he was
crying more on the situation being in the super Bowl
(15:33):
here in the anthem. You know, I'm sure as a
coach and a player, he thought about being in the moment,
like I always think I would be worse than that.
If I ever want a gold medal and heard that
the Star spangled banner, that would represent the US. Of course,
if I heard the anthem and I'm and I had to,
that would get me. If there's an Olympics, I will
be a member of the US, because man, this is
(15:56):
the country that I became who I wanted to be
a door. Yeah. If there was a war between the
US and olsala will be fromline baby the few the
proud you discussed me, man, dude, that salad fail me.
He came come up short. I have to leave it
to become the man I wonder the US allowed me
(16:20):
to be who I was, who I am, and I
want to be I want to be traded for you.
I want to be get traded to else. Alvador, go ahead, Yeah,
we'll tell you for a player to be named later,
not even a protected Now. Of course I would represent
the US. Now, you kid it what, I'm more American
(16:41):
than you are because I'm American by choice. You're lucky
to be born in the US. Out we're talking about it,
and you just did like did you have he did
you have a rooting interest in the super Bowl? And
were you happy with the game? The outcome halftime you're
shaking your half time sucked. I don't know if it
(17:02):
because I don't know her music, because I heard a
couple of songs and I have to have to text
my daughter. I'm like, that'sn't mean that her song what
you doing covers? But half time? Right? That always happens
to me. And then I'm an old guy. So when
I hear a young like, I didn't know she did
all those songs, but she has a million hits, like,
but I don't think. I don't know if they didn't
do a good job in the TV to show it,
(17:22):
But to me it wasn't. It was a simple I mean,
I couldn't mean she was pregnant. She is pregnant, so
what then don't do the freaky show. It's not gonna
be a I mean you really did in practic because
she was pregnant and just doing the show. Come on,
I don't know you said that she wasn't doing too much,
meaning like he didn't have any guests starts with her?
Why he felt like he was a continuation of the
(17:43):
of the weekend show with all these thousands of people
that you know, It's like, why do you why do
you why do you need she was pregnant and why
do you need a guess? You need a get? Like
what do you mean like Dre had? Look at all
the people Dre and that was that wasn't their show.
It was It wasn't like dr would always be. It
was it was building j Low. But I wasn't impressed.
(18:07):
I thought it was good. I thought it was good.
I mean I compared to some of the great ones,
I didn't think it was that impressive. But I thought
it was A could name a ton of them just
on the top of my head. Showed that We're better
than it, and I'm glad that nobody could would have
been better. A video of Prince playing proper Rain in
Miami on the rain that would have killed a show
like in a Hearbeat show. A video of an old
(18:30):
hand show, a video of the super Bowl show that
would have been like that would kill the the who
in Miami, Madonna or Lady Gaga, like all these people
have a bunch better show. They put on a show.
She was just like singing with this thing on, and
I was like, I don't know, I thought it was okay,
(18:51):
but my beef, and I'm gonna get mad. I was
already mad this morning. I don't get mad again about
the call in the game that freaking cheeses me off.
Man Again, these are grown men that sacrifice, that lift weights.
They're putting literally life sometimes life and death on the line.
These guys playing like the sacrifice everything that they put
(19:13):
in all year, and then one guy arbitrarily makes a
retired biology teachers or whatever. Now that was a good
Super Bowl commercial breaking back, But I mean, you didn't
call one defensive holding. Uh call all game and you're
(19:35):
gonna call it with two minutes left and again that's
that is a call that decides the game. Again, I
don't have problems with calls. It wasn't. It wasn't. Blatant
doesn't make you feel better that the defenders. No, I
felt bad for the defender because he didn't have to
admit that he didn't do anything wrong. You have to,
(19:56):
in my opinion, you have to impede the progress. You
can't just touch it. When you got two fifty pound
dudes running patterns, they're gonna touch each other, They're gonna
bump into each other, They're gonna bowl. Wasn't even man,
a guy, a referee decide the fate of the Super Bowl,
(20:18):
the championship. And I always think about sometimes I think
about my folks at a time like this, and like
my dad always said, man, I went to Browns to
win a super Bowl, just once before I die. He died.
They didn't win a super Bowl. There's somebody in Philadelphia.
Maybe I'm reading too far into it, but seriously, there's
there are fans that have lived their whole life they
may not ever see a Super Bowl because of one
retired lawyer that cheeses me off. You know that is
(20:44):
true what you said, because when we won the title
and I was walking through the parade. I ran into
this lady and she's like, she hugged me and game,
and I say, you know, what's everything going to you happy? Whatever?
She's like, I just came back from the cemetery, like
I went to see my dad, because my dad never
saw the Cabs win a championship. He was such a
(21:05):
big fan, and you don't. And that's when I realized
how much the title meant a Bob and beyond I
the Eagles did just went four years ago or five
years ago. Whatever. Yeah, there are a lot of people,
a lot of people that okay, bad example, but the
worst part to me was and then I now I
(21:26):
had to put up with Patrick, my home brother, being
he's been annoying. Yes, he's been even he had a brother.
His brother didn't see that he's been getting He came
into the post game conference doing a doing a dance yesterday.
That's not he interrupted the conference and he had to,
(21:46):
but he he acts like he's the guy that played
the game, younger brother. It's ridiculous, like insane, Like that
was the only disappointment for me that I had to
put up with him, his father. I get it his
father everything, They beat job Borrow. He's been smoking, like
he showed up with a cigar and he said he
was smoking a Philly blunt. And then he goes, I'm
(22:08):
only kidded. He's a Cuban dad. Yeah, you know, I
like his dad because his dad he deserved to be
proud and be whatever he wants to be because it's
on now his brother that. And then another thing. I
heard somebody on the TV today, I forget which one
of the many idiots on TV talking about football expert
(22:29):
saying that my home is just next to Brady Now
that nobody that's ridiculous, you know what I mean, the
only one you know. But he's like, don't let him
do it. I mean seven super Bowls, you gotta win four,
kind of three or four if you're he's gonna rate
(22:50):
him just because he wants two super Bowls and you
gotta win whatever five seasons. But a lot of things
can happen, And don't don't be putting him in the
same Hall of fame where they were the Brown fans
were putting the kid card this year. You brought up
a good point in that you gotta win three because
Eli Manning won two, and I think he sucks really
(23:10):
for the moment. But he was great in the playoffs,
great in the playoffs, creating a super bat. But also
but because he won two doesn't mean he's next to
Time Brady. Yeah, he's not next to Time Brady. He's
but he wants two Super Momas things. So what I'm
saying Pat Mahomes needs to get a little dormoust say
that he's the best quarterback next after Tom Brady. Yeah,
because he's the best quarterback in the league right now.
(23:31):
He probably the most exciting que I'm telling you. He
always packed up play that breaks you back either you
know what he's faking. He got a pulling the cart,
chilling with the chawin Williams painting his sock, you know,
when he was in the mound, and then he's of
course you remember, course I do remember that. Yeah, with
the red sock. I can't stand So he my home
(23:53):
is all angel and limo. I'll have like a fifty
fifty year ros and he just broke the back of
the Yeah he was he's cool again. I like him.
I that was like, that was a super Bowl in
which I liked both teams. I like all all the
players they was. I'm telling you he's for sure to
put us big space between him and Josh Allen for example,
that everybody compares, not even close. I think, I think Burrows,
(24:16):
I think it. But again he hasn't warned. But he's
up there in terms of kyliber quarterback that he is.
But he's definitely put up himself ahead of He's definitely
the end of a generation I think, with the with
the with the Rogers, a man in and all those
guys being out of the thing now it belongs to
them now, and he's definitely the top quarterback. Nothing but
(24:38):
I agree, although Jalen Hurts kind of said something for himself. Yeah, no,
that was impressive. That was really good. Um, hey, you
guys want to wrap it up and get to our
special guests in the next sep unless you have something
big for your special guest. We have a special guest
even more maybe more special than started off, like like
who who who the We're gonna be there. We're gonna
(24:59):
talk can start with Donovan in the next segment. Man, Yeah,
I know, but we should talk about all the silly
events they have like that. Well we don't. It's just
Evana it's not just we can talk about silly events
with their third guests talking. No one of the coaches.
I don't know that. Yeah, he's saying he's playing, he's coaching.
He picked he picked Eva. That's insane. I thought he
(25:20):
didn't like Cleveland when he doesn't pick on the Cleveland
play because Evan So damn good man, I know that.
What a hypocrite. When we when we get to the
third segment, I want to talk to we're talking to
Adam Hines, who is our game presentation manager. Is that
closes the whole sentence either way, but we're gonna talk.
We're gonna talk to him about how much rap persentation
(25:40):
on Live Entertainment, about how much Rapah loves Sweet Caroline,
and then and then that should be uh maybe the
new song for the team. What do you think about that?
Mag I like it. I mean, my alma mater has
its own, you know, kind of and you're a West
Virginia conditioneer, right, I am in West Virginia. How does
it go? It goes eat Pitt. So that's kind of fun.
(26:04):
Let's sake, let's hear it. Sweet Caroline eat Pit? That better?
I like that good? But you know what it is
that our fans don't even sing that they do. They don't.
I'm saying, I'm sitting I'm sitting in the media section.
(26:24):
It's just remind me of the let's happens, bring that up,
dog and our fans would have to fight. Don't don't,
don't don't bring that up. Rapha hates Calves fans. No,
I don't. I think I think we do a bad job.
We have a lot of retrievers, you know, and they
I think our fans wait for the hot dogs and
the T shirts and the balls being tossed to them,
(26:45):
and and they forget that they're here to root for
the for the team. And sometimes, you know, sometimes I'm
like I'm raising my hands. I'm telling the guys around me, like,
come on, man, wake up. But I'm gonna go to
break before Ralpha digs himself to the team. Yeah, let's
bring it Downovan Mitchell. He's gonna talk a little All
(27:07):
Star and then he's gonna talk about how the Mets
are superior to the Gang. Yeah, we have the bragging
Rizal winning the one and only soul Way. Seriously, alright, guys,
we'll be right back with Donovan Mitchell talk a little
all star. Right after this, there's more of this. Can
(27:28):
we sit out why I said I can't feel my
left leg after this on Wine and Gold Radio and
the beat goes down. I haven't helped anybody. I've never
(27:50):
helped anybody. One of my kids stumble and m from
have it. I didn't help him up. I said, get up.
Little fellow stumbled and I said get up. I don't
care if you can't walk yet. Get up. Hey, this
(28:17):
is Rick Mahorne. I don't listen to the Wine and
Gold Radio show. I'm a bad boy. We don't listen
to crap like that. I don't even like him. I
don't even like the guy that's making me do this.
What the hell I'm from Detroit. We're bad boys for life.
Make sure you listen to the Pistons broadcast, not that
Wine and Gold crap. Goodbye. Now back to Wine and
(28:41):
Gold Radio. Baby, everybody, welcome back to Wine and Gold Radio.
Shaken it too. Really super special guests, really the biggest
guest we've ever had on the show. Our budget is
getting here. This is really gonna put us on the map.
The Great Dinovan, Mitchell Dinavan, thank you so much, for
doing us and appreciate you guys. Happen we we have
like a short times. Man, I was gonna get him
(29:02):
going on the super Bowl. But let's get to the
good stuff. Yeah, well, let's get right to the good stuff. Dinamond.
All Star Weekend are coming up. Are you mentally ready
for it? Or yeah? You know, I have have a
comedy show on Thursday and I'm hosting. It's d Ray Davis,
Chris Spencer, UM, Earthquake, UM, Tiffany Hatrish. You know. So
(29:25):
we we got some star studied UM. So see tickets
around sale now if you go to my Instagram you'll
see them. It's on my website. You know. If you guys,
if anybody's coming out to Salt Lake or not to
come watch it? Are you doing? Are you throwing a
couple of jokes yourself? But they want me to? They
want me. I got a few knock knock jokes on
my phone. I really ain't got much. I ain't got
much going, but I'm excited for the weekend as a whole. Okay,
(29:46):
I have some real filthy ones if you want to.
If you're looking for the material, and it wasn't for
once to do that, like, you know, like an open Yeah,
and I don't think I might be funny every now
and then, but it doesn't in front a people and
having selling a story that he's funny. It's hard, tough,
it's tough, and you get I give these those guys
a lot of credit, guys and girls a lot of
(30:07):
credit because, um, you know, that's no small thing out
there and make room full of people laugh consistently for
a long speriod of time. Yeah, and now I know
you have the show. Are you having any related with
the Dawn Force? But not for the show but no,
but during the weekend. Yeah, yeah, So, um, Grambling State
is gonna start. I was gonna wear my shoes in
all for that. That would be dope. Um, you know,
(30:30):
I think that I'm excited for that. That would be
really cool. And you know, just to be able to
give back to the community. And I should buy I
should say about the comedy show to all the proceeds
are going to a high school called Currents High School.
So everything, if you buy a ticket, you buy a table,
you buy whatever, it's all going to Currents High School.
So I'm trying to do a lot for the community.
Uh that I really grew up as an NBA player
in and you know, be able to give to give back.
(30:51):
That's awesome. I guessed you when we're in Salt Lake City,
what do you think All Star Weekend is gonna be
like there? Because a lot of people dogs Salt Salt
Lake City like it's and it is a lot of Mormons.
But I mean, what do you think it's gonna be
like next weekend? I think it would be. I think
it would be dope. I think it won't. I mean,
it's not La, it's not New York, it's not Ami,
but like, you know, I think it would be cool.
You know, I think for people who aren't necessarily playing,
(31:12):
like players can't go ski and do those different things,
I think there's a lot of stuff winder stuff to
do um out there. I think there's you know, I
don't know what the liquor license is gonna be liking,
laws are gonna change, and I don't know. I don't
know because typically it's like closer than they one o'clock,
So I don't know what that's gonna look like. But
you know, I think as a whole, I think it
would be pretty dope. And you know, I think at
the end of the day. Like you know, the NBA
(31:33):
does a phenomenal job of you know, turning things and
making things you know, to be pretty pretty special. So
you know, for me, like I said, I'm going back
to familiar ground and you know, I have a lot
of friends and failing are gonna be there. So I'm excited.
Are you getting any ticket requests? Yeah, everybody. I told him,
you gotta figure it out. Figure it out. You gotta
know somebody else. So now, if this is your fifth
(31:57):
All Star and you you spoil Cleveland's weekend and when
you took that from Larry Nance, uh, that was unfortunate.
Are you are you able to kind of calibrate yourself
and I'll start weekend out where like when you were
a young guy, like the first time, you know, we
we've gone to All Star games. The first time you go,
you kind of go nuts and it's really like, you know,
(32:19):
your your eyes are wide open after having gone. Are
you a little more mellow now? You can kind of
go think, you know, you know what to expect. You know,
you can be pulled in different directions to fee allow
yourself too. I think the biggest thing is, um the
recovery aspect taking that seriously. You know, I'm like controlling
your flights, you know, so we play in Philly. You know,
(32:39):
I'm not gonna just go run on vacation and come
back and then do different things like controlling you know
that for your body, give your mind time, your body
time off mentally as well, um and kind of appreciating
the weekend and doing this doing as much as you
need to, but not overdoing it. You know. After my
rookie year, I want to dunk contest. I was so
tired when I came back. I never forget. I probably
had the worst stretch, you know, after that all start break.
(33:02):
That was terrible my rookie year, and then we ended
up I ended up figuring out getting back for the playoffs.
So after that, I was like, okay, I need to
track like what I'm doing, how I'm going about it.
So yeah, I'm pretty pretty chill. I ain't can really
do too much and to be my friends and family.
But all those plans, is there a day there where
you kind of have like a dark day, like a
blackout day, know you know you especially with the stretch
(33:24):
that we have had here, this is gonna be thrown
out against the Spurs. It's the seventh game in nine
and eleven days. Ridiculous like that if they're not planned for,
like the having like a shutdown day, yeah for the
for those few days after, you know, kind of taking
that time. But you gotta balance it because then then
you gotta you can go in Denver, Atlanta, I think
it's Detroit, and then we go play Boston or something
(33:44):
like that. So um, you know, so you've got to
kind of balance that and you know, not too much alcohol,
too much nasty food. Like you know, I'm kind of
understanding that the balance you have to keep and then
and then that's real and understanding that you gotta understand,
you know, what your body needs. And but they're definitely
is a day or two where it's just like nothing,
nothing at all. Uh, Dynamo. We we have to talk
(34:05):
some basketball. We have the way we do it here.
We talk basketball. Get it out of the way. Then
we can talk about the fun stuff. The calves right now,
can you talk about the transformation that you guys made
and what the Miami Memphis games meant for the team.
It seemed like that changed the trajectory of the team.
You think you saw a different focus in our group,
(34:25):
um on and off the floor. I think we we
go about things the right way, you know, not to
say we weren't doing that before, but I think we
understand now, like what comes with you know, expectation, what
comes with getting familiar to each other? Like what I think,
Like I said it the other day, you're starting to
see a group that's starting to figure each other out.
I think that's the biggest thing, become comfortable playing with
each other at first, Like I said, Darius gets out
(34:47):
when you go eight and one. We started having all
this success. Everybody's talking about us with the Calves is
gonna be this, this this cats are gonna be that. But
in reality, like we have, three of our starters haven't
been to the playoffs, so they don't know what that's like,
you know, not knowing what that expectation. Last year, this
team was the hunter. Now where the hunted. Now you
gotta get used to that. Then you gotta get used
to me coming in, you know and doing what I do.
(35:10):
So now you have all these different circumstances like, yeah,
we had success, right, things went well, but at the
end of the day, it doesn't just this doesn't just
happen like you know what I mean, And you know,
I think people from the outside looking in it's like, oh,
I've gotta figure out it's perfectly then. But at the
end of the day, you gotta you gotta work through things.
You gotta get growing pains, and you know, we were
able to do it through you know, wins and losses.
But now I think you're starting to see what happens
(35:30):
when you have a group that's starting to understand and
figure each other out and figure out where you can
get going on offense, on defense, our defensive remain consistent.
But I think offensively is the the biggest thing. You're
starting to see a guy starting to flourish. Isaaca Coral
and Evan Mobile I think are the two that are
you know, taking the biggest step. Um. You know it's
offensively to the to the naked eye. You know, you
look at Isaac shooting, you know, his play, his his
(35:53):
his being involved in actions and small small pick and roll.
Evan Mobile, Um, I don't know where to start with him.
You know, it's just a lot of stuff that he's
doing phenomenally well. He's getting stronger he's been and the
one thing that I will say about f I forgot
he didn't have a great game against somebody I think
before the break before the New Year, and he's been
the wait from ever since, like every day, like and
(36:14):
I mean every single day, um to the point where
everybodys trying to tell him like relax for a second,
you know what I mean. And you're seeing it in
his play the whole New Year. And that's why I
tell him my my broadcast when when we're talking about
Evan that we have to allow him for him to
learn and and correct things along the way. Not only
(36:34):
that he doesn't have the time to do it, but
you can tell he's learning things. And and you mentioned
the attitude change, and he's been like that the Miami
Men phase and everything. But how big is the fact
that the bigs have been doing their eating Like huge, huge,
because at the end of the day, like you know,
we need everybody, you know, and I obviously Darius and
(36:55):
Now get a lot of attention and whatnot, but Evan
Mobile and Jared Allen are the reason why we know
where we are. Like, you know, let's not get it
get twisted, you know, like let's just understand that those
two are really impactful on both ends. Of the flour.
They're the reason we have the number one defense. Um,
they should both be considered for all defensive team. Um,
you know, as well as Isaaca Coral like and then offensively,
(37:15):
look at the steps and leaps that they're making, you know,
I think it's it's one of those things where it's
just like man like, you know, to the next like
to the to the average fan. You know, you just
see the twenty points of Evan and Jay are getting.
But there they're they're in the pocket front when we
get blitz. You know, they're making those extra players, they're
getting offensive boards, they're blocking shots, they're running the floor.
That type of stuff, you know, takes us as a
(37:36):
group to a whole another level. You were. You were
once a young guy who made his first trip to
the playoffs. These young guys eventually that's going to hit
him in the face when they finally make the playoffs.
Are they ready for it? How much can you help
them get ready for it? I think they are. I
think the biggest thing is understanding that from game to
game adjustments. Um, you know, I think the play in
(37:59):
the atmosphere, you know, I think they haven't really played
in that big atmosphere games in college and Darius didn't
play much in colleging and Isaac um I get on
him about Auburn and basketball, But I don't know. If
I don't know, I really I really don't know. So
like the atmosphere maybe didn't in Shock, but for me
(38:19):
my my first year and we played against the okay
See Thunder with Russ p G and Um Carmelo in
okay See and for the first you go back and
watch the playoffs, I think I made my first four
shots and then we called the first time out and
I was ready to throw up, Like you know, that's
something you gotta get used to. But like um, as
far as the game, the game adjustments, that's the biggest hurdle.
(38:41):
I would say, understanding that what's gonna be there in
game one is not going to be there in game four,
like you know, understanding that, and you gotta be able
to inn our actions. You know, we run you know,
maybe a wide pinned down understanding that the top locket.
We gotta run something else, you know, and then there's
gonna be a counter of that. We can't call our
plays out every possession because everybody knows, I knows you play.
It's no matter how well you're executing, what do you
(39:02):
have to counter it? And everybody's gonna know the counter too,
you know what I mean. So that's gonna be the
biggest adjustment. And I think at the end of the day,
you know, I could say everybody's ready for you guys,
and we look like we're getting ready. But you gotta
go through it. You gotta go through it, and it's
gonna be positive, it's gonna be negative to it as well.
Before we let you go, we have to talk to
about what's kind of a good night you had to
start the year against Chicago. I got something. I gotta
(39:23):
play something for you, and then you tell me how
that night went along. Ce twenty Cuno, that was that
(39:49):
was your double nickel? You got to seventy one? What
was what was going through your mind that night? Man?
He was almost a perfect fourth quarter over time. Yeah,
it was U Man. I don't know if you remember,
I wasn't playing well, yeah, I mean the whole thing,
not even just that games about games before and you know,
I was just like, man, I'm not shooting while I'm
(40:09):
not but we were winning, so like alright, cool, Like
I'm not overreacting. I'm just like, I'm not shooting while man,
Like I just I talked to Brad uh already before
the game and he was just like, you know, just
just find it. We're talking about him, and then he
brought up like certain things with Michael Jordan what he
saw and whatnot. I just shoot your way through it.
And then I was like all right, like you know,
you get hyped up from the right. Cool and then
me come out and damn they're laying egg to start
the first half, so we all we're all tired, and
(40:32):
you know, um coming into the third quarter, was just like,
let's just make it close, like you know, let's just
attack gaps, attack certain things. And you know, my teammates
really made it easy on me as well. No one
kind of setting those proper screens, getting into the right
pocket so I can find guys for for shots. Um.
And then once I started getting it rolling a little bit,
you know, you kind of black out and you just
start start going. And I didn't realize I had seventy.
(40:54):
I didn't realize I had like sixty something until um,
I think it was carrass He was like, you know
you might you Mike at seventy and I'm just like,
what are you talking about? I looked up and I
saw it, like all right, we might have might do
something special, but it wasn't. One wasn't until we got
I think we got up like six. I think I
got the fast break layup and I made it. That's
when I was kind of like, alright, just stay in
(41:15):
this mode, like don't don't leave it, like don't don't
think about it, just stay here. And why don't you
got to rebound on the free throw? I mean that
everything work effect you kind of at that point tomorrow.
At that point, I got JB and I started laughing
at each other. I was like, I mean, we might
as well win the dam Like at this point, like
we've done all this, you know what I say, might
as well win the game. And like I said, even
in that moment, it wasn't about how many points I had,
(41:36):
because I really didn't know. It was like we've come
back down from twenty one in a game we really
should not have been in, and you know you might
as well. You know, we get that shot. Um. You know,
we worked on it in Toronto with It's funny because
everybody told me after day don't remember us working on
it in Toronto, but JB, we worked on that exact situation. Um,
I tried it against the Clippers in l A and
(41:58):
I didn't get the tip. So for me to do it,
you know that game, I think that was pretty sweet awesome. UM,
you know you're you're short in time, So do you
know pictures and catchers report? I know, huh, because I
have to ask you about your your baseball background quick.
Your dad worked for the still works for them for
many relations now lations, but he was a coach for
(42:20):
seventeen years of my life. He was a coach in
the minors. So a lot of the guys, Um, there
are a lot of them are older now. So you
got like Daniel Murphy, Juan Lagaris, Um, Jake Um, the
gram trying to think who else? Um and not Inde Jobs,
Ruben Toda, Um, there's a lot more that I'm missing.
(42:43):
K Then yeah, like they were those were the guys
that would be working out with, like you know in summers,
those would be my people that are working out with.
And then like I go to training camp or spring
training and I'm getting lessons from Pedro Martinez, Oliver Jose Reus,
David right, and then I go dominate my high school
league because I'm out here working with Gros for two
(43:03):
and a half weeks seeing ninety five, ninety six, ninety
seven mine fastballs like I was standing during both his sessions.
And just watch, just watch when I get back to
high school and at sixty two, you know exactly, it's
easy for me. So so you said, I remember one
time in an interview, you said you said you thought
originally baseball wasn't going to be your thing. How good
(43:25):
were you in baseball? And what were you position? Were you?
I was I was pretty good. Um, you know, I
had interest in offers to do both uh sports in college,
but they just wouldn't have had any life like social
life outside of basketball. Um. I stopped in the tenth grade.
You know. I do wish I kept going a little bit,
(43:45):
and I'm thankful that things turned out the way they
did for sure. But I was a picture in the
short stop. My dad swears that, and everybody that works
with my work with my dad and in the metal relation,
they swear by it. That was gonna be a picture.
I didn't believe in it. Um, you know, I had
some I was throwing eight six, eighties seven in tenth
grade UM. But I just felt like with my athleticism,
you know, my field and ability, I wasna a shortstop,
(44:07):
like I was gonna be short stop. I wanted to
be like that's was like my thing, like you know,
just kind of be like a O'Neil cruise on your
cruise and kind of be tall, tall, moving and throwing
the ball hard as hell. But you know, I think
the biggest thing that you know, I appreciate, you know,
for my baseball time is being able to to two
different sports. I wasn't absorbed on just basketball. I didn't
start taking basketball seriously until my junior year of high school.
(44:30):
But you know, I missed baseball and I'm I'll probably
try it come back like Team Mac did and when
he when I'm done, when I'm done, man, yeah, I
don't know if I've stopped. I know, I know your
mom's side is from Panama. Your mother and I know
you're a Mets friends obviously, but you have to have
a little soft spot for Mariano Rivera, the greatest Panamanium
(44:52):
picture maybe the greatest closer in the history in the
game ever in the game, And you know, he's baiting
you have some kind of Yankees and I know you
at the end of the day, him, him, Derek Jeter,
him and Derek Jeter, you know, the only And I
gotta show respect to my man, Aaron Judge. You know,
I'm cool, Like those are probably like the three Yankees
that I like baseball players, you know base Yeah, like
(45:15):
you show respect like you're the greatest in the game,
like Gooden. Dont Gooden's like, yeah, you gotta you gotta
separate when you talk about those two, in particular Derek Jeter,
but particularly Marianna from from you know what I mean,
I think that's something that you know, transcended the game,
you know, the you know the song you like, Eben
(45:36):
Diaz has his own song like everybody has their Like
that was Marianna Rivera. You heard that song. You what,
you knew what time it was, like you knew what
was coming, and you knew what pitch was coming. You
still couldn't hit it, you know what I mean. Like,
that's that's something that just has exemplifies greatness. And then
obviously you got Derek Jeter, two Yankees that I'm open
for a couple of a bet for you know, so
(45:57):
always serious. We're gonna do the dawn Fords have me
where you have at one. You gotta come to, you
gotta come, you gotta come to the game. I go
every I try to go every summer when they play.
You gotta come to New York and it's on me.
We'll go. I don't go to Yankee Stadium. Note I
think I don't. I don't. I don't go over there
like I don't go to the But now we can
(46:21):
definitely do both. But we'll definitely get that done that
but you get CD Field, I'll do both, and we'll
do both. Can you can you be I'm gonna ask
as a third party guy, can you beat both the Yankees? No? No,
not at all, No, no, not at all. It's I've
never I don't think I've ever met one person. Yeah,
it's both, man, I mean, and I lived in New
York and I I don't think I would even The
(46:44):
only time I rooted for the Mets was exactly that's
the only the only time that I actually I was
in Boston during the time in school, so of course
I was woting for the man. Did you see the
thirty for thirty which one about the Mets eighty six. Yes, yes,
I did. What's with Keith r nandez is Cat that's
what hey. Big shout out to Keith Inns too, because
(47:07):
he's uh, he just came back to the Uh. He
just signed back with the Mets, so he's gonna be uh.
He's gonna be on broadcast for the rest of you.
So I'm I'm excited about that. But well we'll finish
the interview with the Mets. Come. I've known that since
I was like two years old. That's what I grew
up on. So I'm excited. It's gonna be a big
year for us, and you know, it's gonna be a
(47:28):
big year for you guys too over on the other
side of New York. But we're sun It's gonna be
a big time. But like I said, both of you
guys want to come down. I got we got on
the field and guys, so I'm not sure we get
the matchup. I appreciate you, guys, Thank you, thank you,
thank you. This is Jed Osman and you're listening to
(47:51):
Wine and Gold Radio, Cleveland, Ohio, America. It's Macedonia, Turkey,
East Ham will are it Let's get it be? He
(48:12):
who listens to radio that go where you go, medium
called radio that's with you every night through the long
commuter fight and in the morning with your toast and
Mama Ladio. Who listens to radio no matter if it's
(48:36):
some more when to spring a fall? Who listens to
red radio only one a hundred and fifty millions, one
a hundred and fifty million people that shower. Hi, This
(49:08):
is Kelsey Russo from the Athletic. I'd rather listen to
Chris Feodor's podcast than Wine and Gold Radio radio. Okay, everybody,
welcome back to segment three of Many Gold Radio Haydens Hadens.
We've been we've been trying to have Caden the show. Yeah,
(49:30):
we're trying to get there. You know, how do you
think Donovan was a Segment two? I thought he was great.
I think it's he's always great to see when that
he's on fire. Yeah, and you can tell he's healthy now, yeah,
which is great he was. But I like that what
he thought about the All Star Game and that he's
gonna have to kind of pace himself. You know what
I don't like though, the fact that we will have
(49:52):
to talk about the Mets. One I learned that you
can't be a Mets fan in the Yankees for sure.
So well, I can't believe you even question that, because
why I can be you can be a Giant or
a Jets fan at the same time either. I mean,
neither one are good enough to care about, let alone.
But from what I'm saying, it's just it's different completely.
(50:14):
But what if you don't live there, Well, I don't know,
that's a different thing either way. Let's bring in our
special guests. Adam Heinz. He's a he's a two time.
He's a special two times he had to have his employee.
Guess that makes you kind of special, man. Yeah, I'm
honored to be here. You guys, we were thinking about time.
Are you worried a little bit about why we're inviting
you a time? Yeah? Yeah. The first time I was
(50:34):
surprised that times of surprissed. But no, no, this time
we keep back into entertainment. I'm inviting Adam on to
thank him because he's been receptive to ideas. Man, we
did the Dean Wolf and he did it. He incorporated it,
you know, and that's what's awesome. And it's awesome. I
mean it's like we've kind of that. That's kind of
(50:55):
why we want to have you, Adam, is that we
do have another request, but just that and Game Entertainment
is like they've they've heard the pleas of winning gold radio.
That makes me happy. But I think I think you
have to appreciate that at least, I think you pay
attention to what you guys do a lot more than
a lot more than people. Yeah, that's great. I mean,
it's it's great for for people to care about the
(51:16):
show that you know, um, you know, don't have a
direct impact on the in bull experience, but they see
things they're like, you know what, we got something here,
Let's let's share it with them and see if it works.
And it sounds great out there when when Dean's hitting
those threes and we got the Wolf Holland and you
guys got that little Josh Fina who's just on the
podcast as well, who's our game presentation manager and audio
(51:39):
guy in games. So he changed the version of but
he goes back and forth, which is great, you know
what I mean, It's like, you know, he has his
own preference, but he listened. That's what's so great, and
that's why. But the best to the best one that
they listened to us. Another one. Yeah, I don't know
if I told you about his father con tackt to
(52:00):
me to thank me and to tell me that that
how old Tony Grandpa, the original how Tony must have
been crying in heaven his name the first time. I
was special, really cool. I talk when he I found
out today because you told us when he started a
couple of games ago, and like, actually, Netto is if
(52:23):
I'm correct, here is you know, junior Junior? Yeah, and
like he's just been playing with Netto on his jersey.
Matter gave me my jersey in Brazil, assuming that his
name was Netto, and he just took off from there.
And then he's too nice. I asked him, why don't
you say something. He's like, well, you know, I feel
bad with everybody. Like I'm like, dude, it's her name.
(52:45):
You know. I have a thing with names. I means pronouncing.
I think that was good. I wanted to thank you
for that and in a name in the name of
the Tony name. Because his father was so trill and
he was at the game. That's great. Caught him by
surprise when he got it when he heard his son
being introduced for the first time. That's how old he was.
(53:06):
He wasn't heaven and thinking of his father, the original
how old Tony who passed away a few a few
years back. And then his wife was also happy because
now his wife is that Tony. So so the whole
family affair. Now that we got momentum, I'm just gonna
run right into my next request or new topic. Now
you may or may not have heard on the show,
but now that we're making headway, the next request or
(53:28):
actually this request has been all year. We're looking for
a monkey or an a rangutang halftime show. Now that
Ralpha talks about it more, I'm almost leaning towards the
orangutang Now I think they're wrong with them would be
a lot more fun because they're more well like any
of which way but loose you know where you were
shooting and he kind of follows down. Were wondering, like what,
we can't have monkeys because maybe a monkey would they
(53:50):
would run into the crowd and go nuts. So that's
maybe the problem. But that that is our next request.
There's such a show like that, So there there is um.
Early two thousand's, late nineties, there was a bear that
would skate in Russia and shoot shoot at the goals. Wow,
(54:13):
it was. It was the craziest thing I've ever seen.
And I gotta find that clip because I soon as
you guys brought that up, like I thought about the
bear um, so that that one's I don't know what
kind of reminds me of the liability now that if
that gets loose, because yeah, what's what's the Will Farrell
movie with the Florida Tropics or tropics Uh semi pro semipro. Yeah,
(54:38):
they have the bearing time and like backing Salvador, our
mascot is a lion, and we used to I went
to a school that was really good in sports, and
we always warn um, you know the tournament, the basketball tournament,
high school basketball back home is without lying to you,
(55:00):
it's ten times bigger than high school basketball is in
Indiana for example. Wow. I mean it's like I used
to play in front of like thirty people in the
national gym in the national arena high school basketball. Right,
But our high school was always very hated because we
were good with private school. So the last time we
did every time before the tournament started, we will all
(55:22):
march in the gym. You know, coming into the arena
and all the team will marching with the mascot and everything.
So we brought we used to bring a real lion
in cage. But and when we were going and so
in the arena, every section belonged to a school, and
the schools bring like a band and paper and noise
and everything. Right, so we would march around all the
all the school bands. And when we were going in
(55:45):
front of like in front of the school that we
were the biggest rivals, they threw up a newspaper lit
and it caught the tales of the lion caught fire
and the lion was going crazy. So everything No, what
I'm telling you, the barries a liability. That monkey might
(56:07):
just take you. So that way, well yeah, I mean,
but yeah, I mean, if if it's a small enough
and cute enough monkey, I think we could be set.
But now again, now that we're talking about I'm thinking
you talk to maybe he should do it, we should
do his things with the monkeys. I don't know. I
think that I think there's something there, like you know,
it's I've seen you know this past year. I think
on a g T there was cats and they were
(56:29):
basically cats Yeah, the cats were like, you know, like
doing stuff like the latte dogs and stuff. It was
it was kind of really crazy because I've never seen
cats before, so like, like, I feel like monkeys are
trainable and hats like that. That's something that could be
the next What the dogs goal? What is the show
called when they have their dogs that raise up and
(56:51):
down the court and pick up the ball with that
is flyball? Um flyball? I think it's just called flyball.
So it's actually really like they have different um, you know,
groups throughout the United States and they compete. Thinking that
would be funny if I don't know where the monkey
comes out running? Yeah, but the monkeys chasing, Yeah that video.
(57:13):
Raphah sent me a video the other day of just
monkeys running and taking pieces of bread out of a container.
I'd love that. Halftime fantastic. The question I have a
question for you, how do you and we probably ask
you this the first time, how do you find halftime Max?
And how often did they submit stuff to you? Because
I went online and looked for I was looking for
obviously the monkey, and I'm looking for halftime Max, and
(57:35):
there's so many out there that I've never seen, and
I and they look like they're trying to make their
way into the NBA. How does that work? Yeah, So,
I mean there's there's different uh talent agencies that rep
Halftime ax and they'll they'll send you the roster. They
have a lot of stuff that there's a lot of
circus stuff out there certain days away. Um, people reach
out all the time. UM, there's kind of like the
(57:57):
standard like the standard groups kind of like a ship
and all that kind of stuff. Who's incredible, Um where
they don't have to reach out there. I know we're
going to reach out. So we'll get we'll get new acts,
we'll get people that are I mean we just had
someone reach out that was like a local magician and
you know, just trying to get a name from the
stuff and we're going to catch a break and stuff
like that. Which we've tried some of those local ones before, UM,
(58:19):
not all of them. It worked out, but you know,
we're not afraid to reach out and embrace. They contacted
me and I send it to anam. It was that
the Tommy Italian Sisters that do like aerobic stuff that
something sisters. Yeah, we I forget the name of that group.
We tried to book they weren't. They weren't available. Yeah,
they're really good, but then they do like internationals. That's
(58:39):
like a lot of these sisters, these two sisters that
do you know they sounds very this sounds very intriguing
to me. I'll send you the clip. The whole thing
about Listen. They probably heard us talking about this on
the show and then like I knew, I was how
about that, Like listen, I said, you're thinking that I
(59:01):
have that much you do now, but I don't. But
I can. I can send it to him and you know,
you know what halftime show and I'm just I'm thinking
of this just out of the blue right now. Adam,
you probably remember this, and I remember seeing this. This
was back in the early days, this nineties Lallapalooza where
they had the Jim Rose Circus side show, and there
(59:21):
was a dude that used to come in I think
I forgot his name, Elastic Boy or Bendable Boy inside
of a yeah, where they bring him in and bring
it in a box and he'd come out of the box.
He was all folded up, he's all double jointed, and
then he put himself through a tennis racket. Ye, that's
rubber boy. You know what, the first time I saw that, Like,
(59:43):
I don't think we have him around because he makes
everybody uncomfortable. Ye he does. People are like, no, we're not.
The first time I saw that guy was that a
nineties Nails concert. That's what I mean. That's what I'm saying.
How that in that in that area he's and me too,
That's what I'm saying. But he was. He kind of
came up with when La Palooza. I remember there was
a guy who used to pound and nail up his nose.
(01:00:03):
Oh yeah, you know that the ninety Snails used to
have that as an opening. Yeah, that guy used to
hang The first time I saw them, I was like,
what the hell is this? There's a guy that was
pierced that would hang stuff off his piercing. It was awful.
Please don't get any of that. So if we do
research for you, you'll be recepted to him. Yeah. Yeah,
there was one that this guy brought up. We have
a director's call around the league every week, um and
(01:00:27):
one that we actually have watched the halftime. It was
crazy like they were on America's Got Talent and their
knife throwers. They were throwing real nice on the court
and then they come in. They pulled out a crossbow
and he shot. I believe it was a balloon off
of her head blindfolded. Oh yeah, I like I had
that one to like, like, yeah, I mean there's there's
(01:00:51):
been there's been accents before during halftime. Oh my god,
that would be crazy. Hey, speaking of accidents, I had
a quick question for you. Have any of the Wine
and gold He has been injured at any point during
the year where I could kind of slip right in
without having a I don't want to audition. I just
want to jump right in and be one. To be
at one in Goldie. I'd be a great Wine and Goldie.
I told you I got moves, and you know I
(01:01:12):
could kind of make moves on some of the ladies.
But if you, if you have the nerd to go there,
I'll go. I'll do it with you. Really, you'll be
a Wine and Goldie. I'll be a one on Goldie.
I think we got something there. I think so too
special guest performers. We had our dancing cop this year,
maybe we have this podcast, so if you guys so,
I just want to say, like, if any of the
Goldies fall out at any point, twist and get in
(01:01:35):
between the dance or sometimes you know, But I mean
I want to be an official. I wanted to, like
I want to wait to the jacket and everything. I
want to be an official Wine and Goldie. So uh,
like I said, if there's any injuries, let me know,
I can jump right in there. Uh. And another question
is who's your favorite halftime? Yeah, as we talked about
last time, I think it's a Firecrackers are coming up
March fourth. The best. They're the best, they're the best,
(01:01:58):
jump jumped overs, they're great. The girls phenomenal, So they're
my favorite. I think the new one we had this
year Joey Chestnut, that was fun. Should we Chestnut? When
we did the eating contest he took down? Oh you
don't like that one. I can't stand the competitive eating.
It's disgusting. I just think of that is that's probably
(01:02:23):
why aliens don't come to to this world. We don't
need to go there. You know what I pick up
that's like, that's like a ball of ugly America. If
they didn't soak stuff and water, I think I have
a better time with it. But that that part, that
is kind of good. But it's kind of nasty too.
(01:02:45):
It's it's it's it's something that has taken up so big. Yeah,
it's huge, it's huge. He does that whole photo July
thing every year and it's never a fat guy either that.
But I would we too have him on the show
and talk. I would like to know the post contest
situation with him, like like what is he like? Does
he have to explode right away? Yeah? Yeah? Which way
(01:03:07):
do they? I mean it's like where does it come back?
Is he that one way out or you know, come
out everywhere? And the guy is not that big, it's
not that heavy, That's what I mean. Like if I
eat that, I would probably gain a on the pound.
I think that's another thing. I think I enjoy it
more if it was really a fact. Guy, Do I
(01:03:33):
want your trip? And then we have to talk about
the amazing slot a who Rapha continued. I like him,
but I think it would be a lot more exciting
if he kind of like fell out of like the
second chair and maybe Blaine sir cecy for giving him
the run chair or something, and then everybody will be like, Okay,
(01:03:54):
so there's a chance of him for because I've never
seen him for like you see you see Red pandamiss
and she picked him up and you know, I've never
seen Red pat last time she dropped the ball last time,
the last one, but she bat me pour plates and
she picked him up and then again. But again, people
always said getting nervous when the but you know, I
(01:04:16):
think he would you could. I tend to think that
he does and just do make you feel like he's Yeah,
he's only sixty three. He's not even that all amazing.
I mean, I know he is pretty much. But that's
why I think if he fell off the second chair,
you know, and just blame it on like but he
might actually get injured, man, then no, but he doesn't
have to roll into the ground. He can just land,
you know. I like that because like sometimes halftime acts
(01:04:39):
like Red Panda, same act, it's great, but she's a
legend and a groundbreaker in the industry. Some of these
other acts, like after you see him a couple of times,
you're like, yeah, probably not gonna book him anymore. Great
about the dude that rolls around in a circle German wheel,
I don't mind that guy, Yeah, but I don't think
I think I can do that. Yeah, that's that's I'm
(01:05:00):
not you know, which one I request I would like
to see is the woman who shoots the bone arrow
with her feet. Yes, we tried to book her as well,
but like I mean, people's schedules get a little crazy
versus one they are really you know, you know, we've
been complaining that the leagues who have like an NBA
All Star halftime shows, right, and they finally called Christian
(01:05:22):
and Scooby, but Christian since they never had called him,
he had like four games over five games that week
the week at the Old Star back, so you have
to put them down and said maybe next year if
you plan ahead, you know, I can't come. Yeah, they
used they used to do like in Toronto when I
was up there for All Star two thousands sixteen. I
think it was they did like red Panda at the
(01:05:43):
time out. They did slot at the time out. It
was crazy. It was crazy. It was like and like
you just saw all the players because most of them
never see it, right, and it's like going on during
the time, they're all just watch people. Probably how many
people wish that they showed that because I know sometimes
in the league pass they showed the halftime. You do
you get it when you get this time out and
everything you get like the beginning of every time out thing.
(01:06:04):
And my parents, for example, they always complained about how
on the TV they don't show I said that, you know,
they gotta show commercials. I paid their bills. But people
aren't entertained by that stuff. So I'm not gonna ask
you how much they make, and you kind of know
the answer to the question. I'm gonna ask do these
guys is this their full time job? I mean, do
they work at their jobs or is this full full
time for the most part, Like Steve max his job
(01:06:26):
is Steve Max is is you know he's out there
doing Simon says that's pretty great, isn't it. Yeah, that's
it's great, and like he's good at it. Though as
I'm saying he's great, he's like he's like an auction
guy doing Simon seth And you need to be quick,
you have to be everybody that screws up and everything.
He's just so quick, That's what i mean. You gotta
be really mentally acute to do that. I'm so probably
(01:06:47):
that nobody has picked up the quick threast. So that
was a great. Yeah, that was a great halftime show.
That wasn't great nothing, because there's some of them that
are similar, but they're not as good. No one's as
good as the original. When they were you know, early
two do the mid two thy were there untouchable, and
then it was them in red panted that was it.
And to your point, they did the same exact act
(01:07:07):
every time, and every time it was just as good.
It was just as good as it's just like some
acts that works for the other ones. You gotta you know,
that's why you know. I know we talked about Christian
a lot on here, but he changes his act up
all the time. And he's got new scoobies too, right, yeah,
dogs he retired U Now he's Percy and and Milo
(01:07:27):
Percy wasn't friendly last time, man, Oh no. You know
the good thing with person You cannot look him in
the eye, pending I'd be like, hey, Percy, how are
you looking at the moment you look at him there?
Last time? Last time I was paintingim. I will pat him.
I wasn't even looking at I want to beat him next.
(01:07:53):
And you know what he did. He gave me because
the bald. I don't know if you noticed, but the
dog had an issue right switching balls, you know it too,
which I love the grit on the balls that Wilson
send them, because I told him he tould change the
Wilson balls instead of Spaulding, just to go along with
the league with the partners, not like the mascot in
(01:08:14):
New Orleans that was given away bubble heads. And he's
holding a Spaulding ball in the ball and the picture,
but the grip wasn't the bullet wasn't sticking to the
floor anymore. So they kept moving on him. So he
gave me the ball. I have a ball, and he
I got paint and he put his poem paint and
he auto my ball. Yeah, but I know he was
(01:08:34):
on that ball for a while. Person do it. He
kept moving. Yeah, he's a good guy though. He's really
worked hard to like get his show going and and
do his thing. He's getting married in March seventeen. They
are the little dogs gonna be like Ring Ring Boy
and stuff like that, you know, be a good like
I was watching the ref tonight, you know, be a good.
(01:08:54):
I don't know if it's a whole halftime show, but
maybe for some entertainment would be just Bill Kennedy to
look into the rep like camera and maybe maybe maybe
may challenged by the Cavaliers head coach jen John Blair Bickerstaff.
On the Vanderbilt Alumni they use Garland being challenged by
(01:09:16):
his head coach John Blair because he's the best man.
I love that guy. But but you know what, I
love it because I can't hear it. Sometimes the red
get there and they today from the microphone. That's where
they opened. They opened the microphone before they're even going
to talk, and it's just so bad. Yep, Adam, before
we let's go what you said the firecrackers for the
second half. What else we got coming for the second
(01:09:38):
half of the season that you're excited about? Firecrackers definitely
the biggest one. Um, we have fan Apple seven figured
out what we're doing there yet, so you know, we
might do a whole bunch of contests, or we might
have that's where firecrackers last year, so you might be
bringing you know, one of the best we've had the season,
or bringing somebody news so that wants stop in there
and what we're gonna do out there, And one more
(01:09:58):
request for next season, Any chance I can see the O'kannada.
When when the when the Raptors come to town. I
think we might be late that time. Yeah, yeah, I
would love to deep moreious. Oh God, west On God
(01:10:24):
boardy oh God, stand on Gone Barding be creezy, good,
(01:10:49):
must be creezy. See if we can make that, make
that happen. Yeah. We also got no she Latina halftime
coming up. Yeah, I want to do the players line
up again. Man, that was awesome. That was fun. Yeah,
that was it was great. Yeah. I loved all the
h all the different costumes representing different countries out there.
It was great. You know. Um, and I'll ask JB
(01:11:09):
to make sure that he starts carriage LeVert the ninth.
I can't say from the University of Michigan. You know,
we talked about it. A mad send from Colombos, Ohio
and then he going from USC from and then he
goes from from Colombos, Ohio. That's fair. That's what That's
(01:11:30):
what That's what the request was. So, you know, we
we do things to cheese the fans off. Yeah yeah,
why not. I'll get them going, why not? And I'm
stick around for thank you right now. We have to
thank We really have to give a big thank you
to the PR department this time because they got us Mitchell.
Really one of our best all started down in the
(01:11:52):
Mitchell PR department, as you know, is run by b J. Evans,
who runs it with and don't forget about Cherome Owens,
the straws, the drink. He's like I said, he's like
the he's like a football center. And then he gets
none of the credit, but none of it could go
without him. So he's just the best. Slicking Sammy who
(01:12:12):
is Rookie of the Year candidate, Yeah, he's I think
he's got it. He's no, he's like ready, like he's
like he got a sophomore slope. He's in a sophomore slump. Yeah.
And then next year's Rookie of the Year Devin Booker.
She's the best, you know, the real Devin Booker. She's
(01:12:32):
got moxie. You know that she's got MOXI do you
know what evn Booker department? Yeah? Oh yeah, yeah, she's
she's usually out at CCC. That's true, that's true. Ryan
Boue Banks, Yes, not sure what Boo exactly does. She's
in your department, but have a two title song. Okay,
everybody's got a two line title except for us. Robert J.
(01:12:55):
Hegman does all the computer stuff and he's a big
pro wrestling than we have to think. Our special guest
this week down of the Mitchell and Adam Hensham, thank
you for joining us. And I'm gonna say Elma Durato,
he's part of the show. He doesn't get in Josh Shabo,
I want to thank for coming out last. We can
also we're playing oh wait, wait, wait wait, I'm sorry,
I'm sorry, go ahead, I'm sorry to it. You gotta
(01:13:17):
stop these sweet Caroline things to remind me too much
of the Red Sox, Like, oh my god, that is
the worst thing. I'm too Probably we won that game.
I knew that was gonna chease you when he threw
me off. Was a good moment that game, you did
you know? We were tired coming back from the New
Orleans game. And then i'd hear like that it was
(01:13:39):
against us, against that When that's a great song, everyone
sings along. Yeah, the moment he gets his whole Yankees
Red Sox. That is it is, it is fat, but
people do love it many. But let's come out come
up with our own song. But it's not a John
bon Jovi or what's his name? The guy from the
(01:14:02):
East Street band, Oh God, don't even start. Joe Fritchend,
Joe Fritchard, Joe Fritchend, Lucy various, who runs their community.
I haven't done any community working a while, have you have? Okay?
Of course you have Uh. And the guy that keeps
all this together, that keeps the show on the rails
when we veer off the rails, d Mack, the guy
who handles everything, like what the rails are the mac
(01:14:25):
doesn't he like? Again, it's it's not what you see,
d Mack. He works behind the scenes, you know, I
mean really, And then of course the dynamic duo of
Dirty Kurt and Marty Allan Mr B. I can't wait
to get back on the road. I'm gonna spend my
whole I'm gonna spend my whole time in my room. Man,
how come we're gonna come on the road. When I
go back on the road, I'm gonna spend my wife.
(01:14:46):
I'm gonna spend the whole time in my room with
my bid day. Hey, we got a Caden's going Rathaus.
So we will be back next week after the All
Star Break and as always, good Night, Freddie Mac, The
Cat Corner, shoot Fire, Jaca Jacago. You're listening to Wine
(01:15:10):
and Gold Radio Cleveland, hold On, hold on, alrighty, what
America have some of that? My goodness,
