the sunny shores of beautiful Lake Erie.
Speaker 4 (00:46):
And then they woke at quite.
Speaker 5 (00:57):
In downtown Cleveland. You've tuned in to Wine and Gold Radio.
Speaker 4 (01:04):
Surpris surprise, have a down?
Speaker 5 (01:09):

Speaker 6 (01:11):
Rafa is this more on number one?
Speaker 4 (01:13):
And Joji put more on number two.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
On the punt yy everybody, and welcome to the Thanksgiving
week edition of Wine and Gold Radio. And also good
it's our fiftieth podcast.
Speaker 4 (01:34):
Yeah, we love the fifty shows.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
I bet we're the only podcast ever last fifty shows.
I am Joji, I am joined by Rafa hernandez Brito
the voice the Spanish Voice of the Calves, Spanish Voice
of the Browns and the Guardians and everything else Man
Vic Double. On top of being the fiftieth podcast, it's
(02:00):
double Victory Monday.
Speaker 4 (02:02):
Twice again they did it, you know, and every time
it was you know. Obviously the first one is the
hardest one to get because there's no streak if you
don't win it the first one, and then they shot
out the Cardinals two weeks ago, and then they shut
out the Steelers for the first half of the game.
But they the Brown won a game that as far
(02:23):
as I know, Brown fans can realize and remember that
the Brown never won that type of game, the one
possession game, the Steelers game that always dirty the game
and keep it to one position. They actually pulled it
off with defense and offense when it counted right. And
then we have the first doubleheaded. It was the Warriors
who were coming in on a five game winning streak
(02:44):
and on the feeted on the road. We beat them
and kind of put them in the slump they're in
right now. And then you know, we had the Nuggets.
Last one was a Sunday when they had come back
from losing to Orleans and then with a ten on
two record, I mean ten and three. Yeah, So it
was a hard double headed to complete, and the Calves
(03:07):
did it magnificently again again again the against both the
champions two years ago on the champions from the ACTCLAU champion.
Speaker 1 (03:15):
I had a weird day yesterday and that you now
know as as now living in Cleveland, and you know
the Browns psyche and the Browns fans psyche. How weird
it is, right An Sometimes I'm sure it's kind of annoying,
but it's weird in that your guy Reflog gets it
(03:35):
very very well. He gets that mentality, the zeitgeist of
the Cleveland sports fan. Yesterday, I was I never had
any doubt the Browns were going to beat the Steelers,
no matter even if it's a rookie starting and stuff.
I never had it out before the game. During the game,
obviously after the game. Same thing with the Calves. I
(03:56):
never felt threatened by the Nuggets. I felt like the
Calves kind of handle them. You know, they made a
couple of nice runs, but overall I think the Calves kind.
Speaker 4 (04:09):
Of I know we could compete, especially with the winning
streak and all that, and this just makes the Philadelphia
game instance on tournament and even must win for the cave.
Do you want to stay alive in the tournament, But
I don't want to skip that streak, forget about the tournament.
You want to keep that streak of finally doing things
the right way. But when I got to the arena,
after walking through all the people that it's weird to
(04:32):
realize that not many people drinker browns came on the
way back. Walking with all those people, I don't think
there was one sober person myself, and I know I'm
saying that myself, and and Sable who was also doing
the Borough and Navy. And then I got to the
arena and I saw that the carriage was out, so
(04:54):
I didn't know it was the Big Ten who had
suspended for the game. But then I realized the Nuggins
are not put of the Big Ten or or the
Ohio State.
Speaker 1 (05:01):
You know, we'll talk about that a minute.
Speaker 4 (05:03):
But then I was like, man, it's going to be
a tough game. But you and I have been talking
about this kid since Soer League US in Summer league.
I didn't get I was I was away doing Summer League,
but I saw him from pre season and I love
his presence and I have I have it recorded in
my broadcast how much I appreciated and enjoyed and thought
(05:24):
that it was going to be a successful run for
Craig Porter Union because this dude acts like he belonged.
Even after making mistakes the other night against the against
the Nuggets, he turned it over. It's coming starting after
coming on the court and what he do next block
on the other side defensively, and then and then you know,
finish it up with like his first ever twenty one
(05:45):
point game high five us is made the free throws
that he couldn't make it for some reason in in
in San Francisco. So Craig Porter Junior is the dude
that that people are going to be talking about because
he belongs in the NBA. If he gets his minutes
and his reps, I think it's only gonna get better.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
Yeah, I mean watching him in summer League, you could
tell that there was something to him. He plays and
Coach Bickerstaff talked about it last night and that so
many rookies. He's a twenty three year old your right,
so he's very mature. But Coach Bickerstaff talked about how
rookies have to come into the league finding their game.
What do I do well or don't I do well?
How can I fit in? He looks very comfortable out there.
(06:28):
He doesn't have to find his game. He knows who
he is and what he is strengths and weaknesses.
Speaker 4 (06:33):
But there's one thing that I like about him, and
I mentioned this on the show before, like out of
all the people that come in, and not just rookies,
the people that come in when it's like garbage time,
Like they all come in looking to shoot, look into,
to make an impression, look into. And this guy he
looks himself when he comes in for garland the first time,
(06:58):
and you know, in the first half when he comes
in for garbage and he's so with I don't know
if they like I don't know what the right term
to describe him as, but like, he doesn't look like
he's coming out of his shoes right. He's alwardly excited,
control and he's playing point guard and his job is
to do But you know what, if you're not gonna
if you're gonna give me the fifteen footer, I'll take it.
(07:21):
And he's really good at it. Yeah, yeah, you know.
So I don't know how I'll figure out a way
to like put it into good English Wars eventually, but
I like what I see from him.
Speaker 1 (07:30):
I love what I say. I gotta go back to
the Summer League, just real quick. And then I remember
a couple of games. One game the Calves were down
maybe eight or nine. They won that game, obviously, but
most guys, to your point would have started jacking threes
to come back. Usually, that's how guys do it. They
were giving Porter expecting the Calves to start shooting threes.
(07:54):
They were giving Porter lanes to drive the ball, and
that's what he did. He kept scoring. He got a
couple of ones, but he kept driving the ball to
the basket instead of taking the easy thing. He said,
you know what, I can score like this. He he
just has a presence. And also the thing I like
about him when you look at his numbers, I mean,
he's the most block shots by any guard in the country.
(08:15):
Uh you know, his block shot most block shots in
Witchdoff State history by guard. If you do, though, if
your number is that, if you're a block shots guy
as a guard, and his rebounding numbers are real big,
what does that tell you about a player. It tells
you that he's not he's a worker, that he's not
afraid to mix it up, that he's not afraid to
get nasty. You know, That's what about him. That's those
(08:38):
are things I like about him, and just that he's
he's a very complete player and a very mature player.
And again, this is a young team. We didn't need
another young.
Speaker 4 (08:48):
Guy and he's definite hand now because in that rotation,
I love it. That's the way he plays really well.
And and and again, I think he looks like the
type of guy that doesn't matter who you four guys is,
he'll find a way to play with them. And that
that's that's a characteristic. I think that is very important.
You know, you always talk about when you need to
get together whatever, and then you have to talk about
(09:10):
Tristan Thompson coming in and immediately getting that offensive board
and then basically wrestling out of the hands of jockeys
on the other end when he was kind of like
pushing the putting the shoulder down on Jarret at the
beginning of the game, and that completely changed Jarrett's attitude
two in the game and ended up with a plus
forty something, which is REDICU plus forty two, which is insane,
(09:31):
insane Mber And and he wasn't like everyone. He was
just like moving around like the Jared Allen at the
Cavaliers need protecting. I don't think I I've seen a
blog shot closer to the basket to be in a
basket and the one that Jarret.
Speaker 1 (09:45):
Got and a terrible first quarter too.
Speaker 4 (09:49):
That's what I mean, but that's Whenstan came and kind
of change the thing and him as a leader, kind
of showing what this is how you yeah this freaking
guys you know, like you and you can change after that.
Speaker 1 (10:01):
To your point about Craig Porter Junior and Tristan in
a way, because Tristan probably wasn't planning on this many
minutes maybe, but he's forced JB's hand. I remember last
year I went and listened to Eric Spolstra talked before
a heat came, and he said about players, he said,
I tell players, make me have to play you. Practice
(10:22):
that hard, play that hard where you are constantly you're
forcing my hand, make me have to play you. And
that's what Craig Porter's done. It's like now, JB. You know,
I think there's no going back for Porter.
Speaker 4 (10:34):
But then the other guys too, you know Dan Way
for exampoint he did, he had those big threes in
the Golden State that we don't win that game without that.
Those don't check it in and then he fouled out.
But you know, against the against the no great defense,
ten rebounds and doing things that don't show up for
the fans in this corny sheet or in the highlight reel.
(10:55):
But trust me, on the video on the video sessions,
the coaches see what he's doing defensively to help everybody else.
And I think DM Boy had done an amazing job too,
just taking over, like again, that guy that he won't
play for a couple of games and then all of
a sudden, he's starting three in a row and then
he will go back to the bench. But but they
that is that is the reason why j B continues
(11:18):
to put him in the rotation kind of like to
keep him ready.
Speaker 1 (11:21):
But you need guy, and you need guys like that.
You need guys to kind of fill gaps, you know.
And also I love the were wolf call the Wolf. Yeah,
I was.
Speaker 4 (11:30):
I was talking with his wife yesterday and I asked
her if she if she ever heard of the wolf
call the wolf, the wolf howl, and she said, yeah, yeah,
I love it. You know that my show Why to
Go Radio did get that going.
Speaker 1 (11:44):
To So it's our fiftieth episode and we are chock
full of guests.
Speaker 4 (11:52):

Speaker 1 (14:04):
That's a good title I do.
Speaker 4 (14:07):
Ever, since Lucia took over the impact that the Cavaliers
have had in the community. Yes, I've been impactful.
Speaker 10 (14:12):
Yes, Yeah, thank you Rafa.
Speaker 1 (14:14):
Yeah you're so You're so good. Yeah, Lucy. Like for
those who kind of don't understand what that title means,
like me, uh, you're the you're the community leader. You're
kind of the you're the person.
Speaker 9 (14:24):
Yeah, but yeah, I run strategy on a few different
programs like food security and volunteerism and yeah, and and.
Speaker 1 (14:31):
Now is the you know, the holiday season. So now
is going to be a very busy time for you,
very busy.
Speaker 9 (14:35):
As a matter of fact, it's season of Giving delivered
by UPS. We have nearly twenty five events. We started
on November sixth, then we're running into January. So we
are busy.
Speaker 4 (14:46):
You know, my Rafa seat, you know, I give away
my seasonal gied and issue. In the basketball season, I
give up my employee seat and jo g has been
contributing his yah we yesterday I had a doubleheader winner.
I only have one to I had a lone Ranger
because my my friend brought to for two of his
kids and one person from the went to the Calves
who the Browns came into the Calves game with my friends.
(15:06):
But that's my seasonal giving. But this year again, in
order to be able to win the Mike's Calves seats,
my Rapha seats, you have to be able to bring
a new one unwrapped gift. Oh yeah, oh good by
great or the toy drive that we have. It just
starts on.
Speaker 9 (15:24):
It starts November thirtieth, and we are collecting new unwrapped
toys at all home games that's Calves and Monsters through
December fifteenth.
Speaker 4 (15:33):
And there are bins at every entrance of the field
house so you can put them.
Speaker 9 (15:37):
But wait, there's more. You can also purchase a gift
online if you go to Calves dot com slash toy
Drive there's a digital Amazon wish list. We're collecting board
games for kids. Nice, so it's easy from your phone,
your computer.
Speaker 4 (15:52):
Basically like like when you go to a baby shower
that people like prescribe themselves.
Speaker 1 (15:56):
Oh that's all yeah, and where can people find this?
Speaker 9 (15:58):
Just go on Caves dot com Toy Drive Okay, yep,
there's a button to click on. I'll take you right
to our wishes.
Speaker 4 (16:03):
And see the idea.
Speaker 1 (16:06):
She used to be part of the She used to
be part of the computer team.
Speaker 4 (16:09):
Yeah, one of the founders.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
She was, right o g Computer.
Speaker 4 (16:13):
It was like the Big Three, the original Big three.
Speaker 1 (16:16):
S the biggest North.
Speaker 4 (16:20):
Hey still with us?
Speaker 1 (16:22):
Yes, So before we get to what we have on
tap for the season of Giving, not only is it
double Victory Monday. Not only that, it's our fiftieth episode,
number fifteen. So it's exciting and we we wanted to
(16:48):
have you on because you're one of our you know,
one of the founding members of this too.
Speaker 9 (16:53):
I'm honored to be here. I remember episode number one.
Speaker 4 (16:56):
Were you yeah?
Speaker 2 (16:56):
Yeah?
Speaker 10 (16:57):
I remember?
Speaker 4 (16:57):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (16:58):
So, so thanks for being with us, us on the
fiftieth episode and what do we have on to five?
Before we go the cops care. Before we went on
the air, we talked to Lucy about what do you
have for Thanksgiving? Your your baking?
Speaker 4 (17:11):
Right?
Speaker 11 (17:12):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (17:12):
Yeah, so my mother are you baking?
Speaker 10 (17:15):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (17:15):
My mom has awakend bake. I guess now it's legal, right.
Speaker 9 (17:19):
Hey, Ohio, are you bacon? So my mom she's been
vegetarian since the seventies, right, it's a long time, wow,
way before it was trendy. Anyway, she has made this
eggless pumpkin pie forever and this is the first year
she's not doing it because she has a lot of
work to do with other foods. So she said, I'm
(17:41):
gonna buy a pie from Costco and I said, absolutely not.
Now I'm going to buy make two pies. But for
my family and my husband.
Speaker 4 (17:49):
I have to tell you something. Every time Thanksgiving rolls around,
I always think of Joji's mom, Yeah, because she always
made the pumpkin pie. Yeah. And then one time and
she's like my mom with my mother, you can't make
the mistake or say I like that because Joe's mom
was like that. So I say, I love the pie.
(18:10):
So she gave me that day a pie to take home.
Speaker 11 (18:13):
Oh wow.
Speaker 4 (18:14):
And then every time every time would show up a
whole pumpkin pie, which I proceeded to eat myself. Anyway,
but that pumpkin pie always reminds me of your mom.
Speaker 1 (18:24):
That's very nice me too. And yeah, so I've I've
purchased pumpkin pies, but I get a good one made
by Amish people. So you know it's nice Kurtland, Yeah, yeah, exactly,
won't be get as your pumpkin pie.
Speaker 4 (18:37):
But still with GEORGI is in Amage con.
Speaker 1 (18:41):
Right Mormon country. Okay, what do you hear? What's what's
what do we have coming up here?
Speaker 9 (18:45):
Yes? So, like I said, we have nearly twenty five events.
We started off with a bang on November sixth, which
was our holiday dinner which we serve one hundred folks,
one hundred and fifty folks from Project Act through Cleveland
Metropolitan School Strict. So we had Evan, Tristan, and Isaac
were there along with other members of our team and
(19:06):
they had a great time carving the turkey.
Speaker 4 (19:08):
Hope you have Chris to work with you and your
He's the best.
Speaker 1 (19:11):
He's the best.
Speaker 9 (19:13):
He such a great job. Yeah, he's a veteran, you know,
so if you're their highlights. So we also had another
this past Friday, Jared Allen hosted one hundred kids from
Open Doors Academy to do like a math and meals program.
So he gave all the kids one hundred dollars to
plan a shopping list for what they need to buy
for Thanksgiving dinner. Okay, this is the second time he's
(19:33):
done that too.
Speaker 1 (19:35):
Yeah, oh yeah. Did they have to do math problems or.
Speaker 9 (19:38):
They had to like figure out the budget like this item?
Speaker 4 (19:40):
What do I need to work something I have to
do with?
Speaker 11 (19:45):
Oh?
Speaker 9 (19:45):
Yeah, he's smart. We also have some events with the
Food Bank, so we're going to be at the food Bank.
Our coaches are actually going to go there later this
month and they're going to pack a lot of meals
with JB and the whole staff are going to be there.
Speaker 4 (19:57):
Can we go again that story?
Speaker 9 (20:00):
I do?
Speaker 10 (20:03):
Shout him out.
Speaker 1 (20:06):
Yeah, we can go set up for a feed or
and then a lot Chris does he doesn't he have
a Christmas album? Yeah, we need to have a minus
sing a Christmas song?
Speaker 4 (20:22):
Yeah, I love we have to have we have to
do that show like in July. That's that's when I
sink Christmas Christmas songs. I like him. I like him.
In February, I'm sticking in people's.
Speaker 1 (20:35):
Mind and you don't know why you're singing it. All
of a sudden, you're singing that song, the Christmas song,
and you're like, why am I singing that? Like Raff
has been doing that on the plane. Yep.
Speaker 9 (20:44):
So then we have our toy drive. I already mentioned
that again. Dot com slash toy drive is nice and easy.
We're also writing some holiday cards for our veterans over
at the VA, so we'll be hand delivering holiday cards.
I want to shout out Tim Hauser. He's collecting cards
in Sandusky and Toledo for from lots of schools. All
these kids are making cards for that, so that'll be
really nice. We have other surprise player events coming up,
(21:09):
which will see on social media whenever that happens. And
then something new for this season is our Spirit of
the Season, So our team members are going to be
able to select a snowflake that has a child's name
written on it. So we're sponsoring one hundred children who
have one want and one need so team members can
support one child or more this holiday season.
Speaker 4 (21:30):
That's awesome.
Speaker 1 (21:30):
So that means we could you can?
Speaker 4 (21:33):
Yeah, this is I'm telling you. I don't know obviously.
In my case because coming here really nothing basically to
start again, I always got help from people that really
had no business helping me. Like my brother got into
Columbia Business School because there was a gentleman that we
used to drive for on my and housekeeping housekeepers at
(21:55):
his house. That kind of help him get into Colombia.
And after that, obviously he took care of business. But
I always like to get at Like my grandma used
to say, when you get out of the hole, make
sure you throw the rope back down so somebody else that.
So giving back is always good and that's what we
always volunteer. Will you see us?
Speaker 1 (22:10):
Yes?
Speaker 5 (22:11):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (22:12):
What should we do next? Should we do the food
bank again? I don't know, we got we got disrespected.
Speaker 4 (22:18):
But I like the footback because when you when you're
putting those things inside the boxes and you realize what
people actually really need that you kind oft take for granted,
you know, a bag of I don't know whatever bread
or whatever it is, and then you think all that
that is donated that for the most part, you can't
even imagine what goes bad that people throw out that
people actually need. So I like that. But to me,
(22:40):
I think my favorite favorite one because I kind of
play with my A C like, what was it the
A C Kiki always tell me.
Speaker 1 (22:50):
ADHD like, I love the toy replay.
Speaker 4 (22:55):
That was my actually favorite. That was my absolute favorite.
Speaker 1 (23:00):
That's great that long, but it.
Speaker 4 (23:02):
Didn't just work and the fact that that tickle me
Elmo worked after I kind of like happened. It was amazing.
Speaker 1 (23:10):
Yep, that was really fun.
Speaker 4 (23:12):
The only thing that we would like to see is
I would like to see the kid playing with that
with that toy. I fixed just thinking of that.
Speaker 1 (23:17):
I think it's wait for people exactly explain the.
Speaker 4 (23:21):
Play for kids. Is this company that they get the
toys that you know, the tick Elmo toys that you
have to push or you have to squeeze, and we
adapt them children with disabilities that you can use maybe
they can just jump on it or a switch outside
instead of squeezing it. So yeah, it's kind of like
(23:42):
a feel good thing. I don't know if it's a
little selfish that it made me feel so good to
be able to figure it's okay, three toys.
Speaker 9 (23:49):
That's what givings about. Makes you feel good and return.
Speaker 1 (23:52):
Yeah, So everybody out there, if you're listening.
Speaker 4 (23:55):
Uh, and I have to we will a big shout
out to the whole team. Well you see it by Pam,
you know, Pan Frasco and and Selena. I can't I
can't want to pronounce the announcer last name Zebnick anything
for Selena for the but they did an amazing job
(24:15):
in the Cabs Bowl, the masquerade, Yeah, the gala, the
masquerade that I showed up with. Oh, but it was
so good. It was like a really top of the
line of it, and I really had a good time
to dollars and I know it looked you could see
the amount of work that went into that and the
amount of money that was raised. Although every time they
(24:37):
were raffling, I'd see it on the plane. I felt like, Oh,
I'm not going to Paris. We are you going to Paris?
Speaker 1 (24:46):
Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 4 (24:47):
No, you should go to go find and do some
kind of community getback and yeah the people. You know,
my brother that works at JP Morgan was helping with
the philanthropy because a lot of people don't think that
outside of this country, there's also a lot of a
lot of needs even in countries like parents, like friends
and Italy. So maybe we should try totally.
Speaker 9 (25:09):
Hey we can start a committeeing like right.
Speaker 1 (25:13):
Yeah, So, Lucy, thanks for joining us on our fiftieth episode,
and we will be back on Wine to Go Radio
(25:33):
right after these messages. Why not go radio? There's more
of this, you know.
Speaker 9 (25:44):
Twenty of the last twenty five days where you guys
spent on the road. How nice is it just to
be back here at home?
Speaker 4 (25:51):
Yes? That one, yes, action.
Speaker 5 (25:57):
We let's do this on whining old radio.
Speaker 4 (26:11):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (26:12):
So I'm like, Hi, this is your money base and
I never listened to.
Speaker 4 (26:18):
Uh what I listened to?
Speaker 12 (26:21):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (26:22):
I gotta certain shrying think hold on listen to.
Speaker 1 (26:28):
I ain't like I'll listen to the radio.
Speaker 4 (26:30):
Like the radio. It doesn't matter. Listen. You never listened
to Wine and Gold radio. Okay, okay, okay. You can't
say you do whatever you want.
Speaker 1 (26:41):
So I'm gonna say this. I can say this, all right,
bet Hi, this is your money base and I never
listened to Wine and Gold radio.
Speaker 4 (26:47):
It's perfect.
Speaker 11 (26:50):
M hm.
Speaker 5 (26:54):
Now back to Wine and Gold radio.
Speaker 4 (26:58):
Well he shot?
Speaker 1 (27:01):
Okay everybody, and welcome back to Wine and Gold Radio.
We are joined the sees.
Speaker 4 (27:06):
You get the title Joji jury back with titles.
Speaker 1 (27:09):
Oh, I have no idea what this person's title is
because it's too big. I like, I stop at the writer,
I stop at b writer. It's there's some simple like. Also,
our last guest mate is making a pie for Thanksgiving?
Are you making a pie?
Speaker 10 (27:24):
I am not making a pie, but if you mess
up this title, I'm walking on.
Speaker 1 (27:27):
Oh my god, that I haven't no idea. He is
the top Dog of Marketing Chief Mark Skuyser, chief marketing Officer.
I would never got that right. Yeah, you got it right.
But I like top dog of market, Dog of market
Chris Kaiser, Chris Guiser, Welcome to the show. Welcome to
Winagle Radio. Your first time.
Speaker 10 (27:47):
Yeah, I appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (27:48):
Thank you for having That's awesome.
Speaker 4 (27:49):
And give me credit.
Speaker 1 (27:51):
Come on, I will give Ralph a ton of credit
because he set this whole thing up. And not only that,
he got us. He came with, he came burying, he
came bearing gifts. Because I told Rafa, here's the thing, Chris,
Rafa's a podcast mercenary. He'll do any if you're if
you're listening out there and have a podcast, Rafa will
co host it with you. He'll do any. And I
(28:13):
see him doing a podcast with Booby and he's wearing
the nice he's wearing a nice huge hat, the nice
big styrofoam hat, and he's wearing it right now. And
the thing is, Rafa's head is so huge, looks like
a normal hat. It looks like a normal hat. What
did your dad used to say about your head?
Speaker 4 (28:32):
He was happy that I was not going to be
able to join the navy or the army because there
would be no.
Speaker 11 (28:38):
For me.
Speaker 1 (28:40):
So Chris Kaiser not only did he come on the show, UH,
and he's the chief what.
Speaker 4 (28:46):
Are you again marketing?
Speaker 1 (28:47):
I don't know, I don't get, I don't understand. Top dog,
hop dog of marketing, the top dog of marketing, UH
has agreed to join us. He comes bearing gifts and
we're gonna talk a little bit about what we got
coming up this thank.
Speaker 4 (28:59):
Before you there? He won't he wont he? I'm sure
he's not like me that likes to like what what
do people say about me? They like to pump my
own a.
Speaker 1 (29:06):
Lot of things about you? Yeah, yeah you do. John
Michael would say you like to pump your own time.
Speaker 4 (29:11):
Yeah, I know, but that's not true. But Quiz is
the him on his team. I'm sure you want to
give credit to your team, but they're behind the whole
new reimagined center court, which is the new Caps team ship.
Because I'm sure I'm sure you like you like to
talk about that as well.
Speaker 2 (29:28):
Yeah, so again, seventy six thousand square feet Yeah, we
won't to talk about how much it costs you the renovation,
but I think you know, it's very different, completely different
than anything we've seen, you know, in any other team
shop in sports. The architecture firms and architecture we worked with,
they design all the Kiss stores across the world, so
you know, just usually that's it's usually most team shops
(29:48):
look the same, very very templated because they need to
get as many people through as they can during the
game day.
Speaker 10 (29:54):
But it's beautiful. I mean, it's it is.
Speaker 4 (29:56):
It's really easy.
Speaker 1 (29:58):
Before we before we move on, before where we move
on to the other stuff, we have to remind Chris
that not only is it double Victory Monday, it's also
our fiftieth episode. Don't you like this is good energy? Yeah,
(30:20):
that's pretty good. So uh So, anyway, we want to
talk about the City Edition uniforms for sure, and uh
I thought they were I love this year's City Edition,
love them, love them.
Speaker 4 (30:30):
There's nothing better about our City Edition kids that people
people see them in the mannequins and they're like, but
then when you see them and we haven't even seen
the floor yet, because we got we got to wear
them doing doing the in season tournament. So we have
the in season tournament. But when you see them with
the floor, I think that's when everything comes together. But
(30:51):
it's with Cleveland Playhouse course, Yes.
Speaker 10 (30:53):
With Playhouse Square.
Speaker 4 (30:54):
So it's great.
Speaker 2 (30:55):
So again, the City the City edition is it's all
about trying to tell story or highlight a different cultural
gym or something that's unique about your city.
Speaker 10 (31:03):
In the Playhouse Square piece.
Speaker 2 (31:04):
I was even educated as we went through the process
that it's the largest theater district in the United States outside.
Speaker 4 (31:09):
Of Tide of Broadway. Yeah, yeah, I know that.
Speaker 10 (31:12):
Yeah, And that's what it's all about.
Speaker 2 (31:13):
And I think people have gotten hit up by people
around the country, like I had no idea that was
the case.
Speaker 10 (31:17):
And I think this the Jerseys like awesome.
Speaker 2 (31:19):
They kind of give me that vibe of the old
Georgetown I you know, with that trim players.
Speaker 10 (31:24):
The players seem to like it. And you know, the
opening night, the first night we wore them.
Speaker 2 (31:28):
The other night at the end season tournament was was
awesome with the live violin player and really leaned in
a lot of the themings.
Speaker 4 (31:34):
So I was really upset that I wasn't invited to
the photo shoot. You know that you see that picture
of like Allen with his head out of the curtains.
Speaker 10 (31:40):
We want to sell we want to sell the jerseys rough,
you know, but I.
Speaker 1 (31:44):
Want no, they're very they're very regal, you know.
Speaker 4 (31:51):
I mean they look, you know, your team with the
opening and the dude with the violin and and just
like the orchestra and the whole art and it was awesome.
Speaker 1 (32:01):
And also our N Season tournament floor.
Speaker 4 (32:04):
Is very tasteful, the only decent floor and it's.
Speaker 1 (32:06):
The it might be one of the Yeah, really it
looks great. So when you say we lucked out, how
how what goes into the design of the sea? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (32:17):
So this year was I mean, it happened very late
in the process, and I think the NBA just really
wanted to drive awareness and so when people are watching
an n season tournament game, people are still digesting when
those games are happening.
Speaker 10 (32:27):
How it works.
Speaker 2 (32:28):
So when you see the court, you're like kind of
hitsing the face like it's definitely an D season tournament game, right.
So they based it off of the city edition colors
for that year, and we just we had those gold
hues and you know, we just had to make a
few minor adjustments to what the league say.
Speaker 4 (32:42):
You we have if we if the has happened during
the rook on Roller Jersey, they would have been like
a black court.
Speaker 10 (32:47):
Yeah, it would have been probably black.
Speaker 4 (32:48):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (32:49):
So the league determines that the color of the court.
Speaker 10 (32:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (32:52):
So I like the conto Indiana was like what are
you doing?
Speaker 4 (32:55):
Man? I like the concept of when people turned the
TV on even you're watching a highlight you know it's
an in season tournament game.
Speaker 1 (33:03):
I like that.
Speaker 4 (33:04):
I like that part, but I had I had a
problem watching the Bulls game for example, with like the
red in red. Yeah, like I lost the ball a
couple of times.
Speaker 1 (33:14):
Yeah, you know, it's like watching the what is the
Boise State when it was on the blue? Yeah, it's
just it's off putting sometimes. Like again in Indiana, that
was just like Utah was like a.
Speaker 4 (33:25):
Like a light purple and then it turned into like
really deep.
Speaker 1 (33:28):
Yeah, Phoenix I think has a purple Phoenix.
Speaker 4 (33:31):
Phoenix is the one.
Speaker 5 (33:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (33:32):
Yeah, it's it's it's distracting anyway.
Speaker 4 (33:35):
Yeah, but we have the we have we have the
nicest Yeah.
Speaker 2 (33:38):
Definitely some learning from the league perspective, I think around
it and everything. So I think we'll have a little
bit more you know, involvement in the process.
Speaker 4 (33:45):
Okay, so Thanksgivings coming up, and I know Caps team
shop always likes to give everybody an opportunity to get,
you know, get the season shopping early season of getting.
Now it's like he started with with the with the
weekend and then he went into Black Friday. Now he's
(34:05):
moving back. But we have like all the basis COVID
when it comes to that.
Speaker 13 (34:09):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (34:09):
So from a retail standpoint, essentially the big deal it'll
least will be twenty percent off, you know.
Speaker 10 (34:14):
Both in store.
Speaker 4 (34:15):
Last my employee this kind of just nothing week sack
it yeah, all right talking, So we'll have that.
Speaker 2 (34:22):
Yeah, So we'll have that pretty much all weekend, and
we'll have some more doorbusters on Cyber Monday. And then
also from even from a ticket standpoint, that'll be a
big push as well. So it'll be at Cavs dot
Com backslash Cyber starting on Black Friday.
Speaker 10 (34:34):
You know, we'll have fifty off kind of three tiers
and it'll.
Speaker 2 (34:38):
Be all games will be included through the end of February,
so a lot of good games in there, you know,
Spurs Bucks.
Speaker 4 (34:44):
I know, that people had a chance to come in.
Like last the Denver game, you could buy like fifty
fifty ticket.
Speaker 1 (34:51):
Yeah, it's incredible, right, yeah, especially in victory Sunday total victory.
Speaker 4 (34:55):
That's the second double header. Cool yea, we win in
in front of the lake and we know we're here.
Speaker 2 (35:00):
That's exactly and I gotta I gotta get this in
because the team that made me look good with the
City edition would kill me if I didn't bring it up.
So you can get early access into the Cyber Weekend
deals if you create a profile United. Yeah, so United
dot Calves dot com. You go on there by if
you start starts on Wednesday. If you create a profile,
you'll get immediate access.
Speaker 1 (35:20):
I don't expect you to know every item in the
team shop, obviously, because in the team shop is mind
blowingly beautiful. Really, but are there any uh Summer League
championship shirts remaining?
Speaker 10 (35:32):
So we actually we just got it.
Speaker 4 (35:33):
We gave it my way on opening night at the Charge,
but I was there for that.
Speaker 10 (35:37):
So we just got a shipment of of the of
the Nike shirts.
Speaker 2 (35:40):
So I'll the double check and see if we're on sale,
because I know Mike Gansey, I know they're that group.
They were trying to kind of seed it to anybody
who really helped out. So I know they had that
that Nike Championship.
Speaker 1 (35:49):
Okay, that's very important because I I really kind of.
Speaker 4 (35:51):
I know my wife and daughter wanted me to thank
you for making that deal with Lululemon. They love the game, man,
They love I don't like it because I have to
go an extra size and level actually too, but they
love it, man, they told of the stuff is really cool,
especially when we see the coaches wearing.
Speaker 2 (36:10):
It, you know, and pants and and that's it looks
amazing on the coaches. And I think we have that
the entire location in the A room, you know, right
next to the Valley's set, which you know, so that'll
be that'll be fully stacked for the howadays we.
Speaker 4 (36:22):
Know in your custom and some money. The wife and
the daughter like the Lululemon stuff. I have to show
you this, and you, I know you're responsible for this
because that this brand change was part of of of
of your your your administration. But the new caps logo
with the V on the on the back, and it's
really I love that cool. But I love the gear
(36:45):
with just the V with the basket thing. It looks
really really brand really good.
Speaker 10 (36:50):
I agree.
Speaker 1 (36:51):
I love it.
Speaker 10 (36:51):
It's a very kind of a little more subtle, you know,
but it's very.
Speaker 4 (36:55):
Yeah, and so so we love that against the other stuff.
But that one looks kind of cool.
Speaker 2 (37:00):
Yeah, very unique too. So we're you know, that's starting
to build, get more equity built behind it. Yeah, I
think we're gonna you're gonna see that on more and
more stuff here.
Speaker 4 (37:07):
But I like that that's becoming like our thing, you know,
our little logoletgo.
Speaker 1 (37:11):
Yeah, I'm cool with that. You have such a cool
job as the top dog of marketing because you get
to you get to work with the uniforms. Are you
a uniform guy?
Speaker 4 (37:18):
Like, are you?
Speaker 1 (37:19):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (37:19):
Yeah, yeah, so that's yeah, it was always always something
I've always been interested. Yeah, and now it's really cool
to see the process and we're so we're already working
on you know, uniforms a couple of years out with
Nike right now. So so the process that's a frustrating piece.
You kind of get to that end point of the
process and it still doesn't come out.
Speaker 4 (37:36):
You have to tell Nike for me to spend a
little more time on five minutes designing the Lost Caps
T shirt because they always just changed the color and
on the phone and they changed like a little different shirt.
I wish they would go back to remember get qubing
in the NBA for a while, but remember when they
had the jerseys that the teams who wear like Lost
Sons and yeah, l heat those those would.
Speaker 10 (37:56):
Be cool if we went back to Yeah, he was
previously with the Suns.
Speaker 4 (37:59):
We had to use.
Speaker 10 (38:00):
That's what we use for our our city edition the first.
Speaker 4 (38:02):
Couple of years. Yeah, they have now al Baya, which
is really cool, but obviously you know, the the Hispanic
population and Phoenixes big majorities. But they have the city
edition is Bayer.
Speaker 10 (38:13):
Yeah, they've done a really good, really good job at
that campaign.
Speaker 1 (38:16):
We should bring those back.
Speaker 4 (38:17):
I talked to Kevin Clinton. Maybe the City Edition coming
in Spanish one of these years.
Speaker 1 (38:21):
Favorite cavalier uniforms of all time, let's yeah, let's he created.
Speaker 4 (38:26):
Of course.
Speaker 2 (38:26):
I mean I like, actually, yeah, I love love to
get myself, you know, but I think the I mean
I used to love the blue kind of lebron the
Navy blues, Like I love those those jerseys.
Speaker 10 (38:36):
But I'm also like, that's like my favorite color.
Speaker 4 (38:38):
I love the Calves logo on the side of the
of the statement uniform, the black ones on the on
the on the on the trunks. Yeah, you know, because
they usually have the C so I like the way
you guys flip it.
Speaker 10 (38:51):
And the state.
Speaker 2 (38:51):
The statement uniform is my favorite current. I love the
blacks like I think they were really the big in
the Big Games.
Speaker 1 (38:57):
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I kind of like the white ones,
the kind of the very fast you have to look
fast fast.
Speaker 4 (39:03):
The white ones you always have like wine and wine
and white, right, yeah, but I like what we have
done with the with the older ones.
Speaker 1 (39:11):
I like them all, really, I love them all. Yes,
I'm trying to get another hat. Chris Kaiser, the top
Dog of Marketing, Thank you for joining us on our
fiftieth podcast.
Speaker 4 (39:27):

Steam Shop caps, steam Shop.

Speaker 4 (40:20):
And you're holding a ring and she doesn't answer, and
twenty two thousand people are staring at you.
Speaker 1 (40:28):
What do you do? Go buy some popcorn and get
up here, say are night's over?
Speaker 11 (40:48):
This is Big Daddy Marty Allen, and I'm the announcer
that says, no, back to Wine and Gold Radio.
Speaker 4 (40:55):

Speaker 4 (41:12):
He's really hot. But then he's before it right right

Speaker 6 (41:19):
To get to talk to this guy.
Speaker 4 (41:21):
Our guests come bringing very bringing president.
Speaker 1 (41:24):
And Big Daddy. Our previous guest, Chris guys are the

his big hat to look at. It fits im perfectly.
So Chris guys, he's the guy. He can get all
kinds of gear. And our current guest, the great Big Daddy,
Big Daddy Marty Allen. Marty Allen has joined the show.
(42:00):
Uh martin fiftieth.
Speaker 6 (42:01):
By the way, I here ship.
Speaker 1 (42:02):
Fiftieth fiftieth podcasts.
Speaker 11 (42:10):
And yeah, I'm so proud because you remember, for years
I was on you. Guy, kept saying, Joe, you'll be
fantastic doing this. Come on, Joe, come on. Then the
pandemic happened and all that. You know, but you've been
doing your thing and I have good things about it.
Speaker 1 (42:23):
I'm trying, but uh, you know, I couldn't do it
without the guy with the massive head right there. Who
is We also discussed we got to get to your
big beef in a second, because you were you came
in hot, You're you came in screaming at the I know,
Chris Geiser, he can't right that. Marty came in screaming
(42:47):
at him, yelling at him.
Speaker 6 (42:48):
As soon as his interview was finished, I'm like, oh,
so you're the guy with the swag and.
Speaker 11 (42:52):
To get it from the team top yes, s cheer
a round him it but both you know what Miles
getting on him?
Speaker 1 (43:01):
Go ahead, listen.
Speaker 11 (43:04):
I'm everyone knows I'm a huge Cavalier supporter and I
love swag and I love gear. I've probably spent and
they can check and see. Look at Marty Allen. You'll
see on the employee list. I've probably spent over fifteen
to twenty thousand dollars in the team Shop online, Team Shop,
the whole nine yards on swag and gear.
Speaker 6 (43:23):
But I only have one issue. I'm a big guy,
even though I've lost a ton of weight.
Speaker 4 (43:28):
I want the gear.
Speaker 11 (43:29):
I want the long When I go to buy gear
or swag, when I see lt that's the one I
want because that means long and tall. Okay, I want
the gear that the players wear. And last year I
saw him with that City edition, okay, with the with
the the the camel colored one, the warm up one
sharp the night with the Nike sewer showing it.
Speaker 6 (43:51):
I say, oh, I gotta have it. So what do
I do? I go online because they didn't have it
in the team Shop at the time. It was a
hot item so it was sold out.
Speaker 1 (44:00):
Met the warm ups, right, yes, the warm up warm
up jersey.
Speaker 5 (44:03):
I don't know.
Speaker 11 (44:03):
I'm too old for the actual jersey, but I want
the warm up one because the big I'm a chocolate
looking brother.
Speaker 4 (44:09):
I look good in that.
Speaker 11 (44:10):
You know what I so anyway, I said, I'm gonna
take a chance. So I went in and ordered it
online Team Shop online. I get it and sure enough,
it comes down just below the gut, so soon as
you go to say hello to someone, to raise.
Speaker 4 (44:23):
Your hand all under me.
Speaker 11 (44:26):
For a big guy, that's the worst thing in the
world to have gut. Because I'm a big guy, but I'm.
Speaker 6 (44:31):
A sexy Look at do you? When I walk into
a room, they see me coming.
Speaker 11 (44:37):
So now I go to Raphah, like a year or
so ago, I say, Rapper, and I think they were
on a New York trip and I said, Rapper, do
me a favor.
Speaker 5 (44:44):
Rapper.
Speaker 11 (44:45):
I just went and bought that city edition jersey, the
the warm up jersey, and sure enough it was too short.
Speaker 6 (44:50):
I had to send it back. I've gone into the team,
so I said, I said.
Speaker 5 (44:53):
Rapa please.
Speaker 11 (44:54):
God said, what's the guy's name. He says, name is Cobra.
I said, he gets all the stuff for the guys.
Speaker 1 (44:59):
That man.
Speaker 6 (45:00):
I said, well, then can you tell him I'll pay
for it. I don't want anything free. I will pay
for the ones that they get for the players. Just
get an extra one for me.
Speaker 4 (45:09):
The only one that hooks you up with with shirt
the figure his his.
Speaker 11 (45:13):
Lost Cavalier shirts were the best because the middle of
my thighs it was so long. I could go to
bed with them and everything. It was fantastic.
Speaker 1 (45:25):
Yeah, Cobra has all that stuff, because sometimes I've gotten
like warm up so long version.
Speaker 6 (45:32):
But see that's what I want.
Speaker 11 (45:34):
So somebody's got to introduce me. He went to bed
for me and said he would talk to Cobra at
the dinner in New York. And he did, but of
course nothing ever happened. So I gotta meet Corpra Cobra,
and I gotta make a passion it please, just I
did with them.
Speaker 4 (45:48):
When you meet with Cobra, maybe maybe you need to
make maybe you need to bring it down a little
bit and the energy level.
Speaker 1 (45:55):
Okay, if you go charging it Cobra. Guys, that's what
I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (46:06):
I'm saying is so with cover you gotta go like
a favor, which is a favor you're asking?
Speaker 1 (46:11):
Okay, Because I.
Speaker 6 (46:12):

Speaker 6 (46:17):
But somebody, but if they got in charge, you know, you.
Speaker 1 (46:20):
Know, you know we should go after is Skinny doing
and work his way to Cobra.
Speaker 4 (46:27):
To cover. I think cover, Trust me, I don't think
there's a man and man. I don't think there is
a man that is busier and has a lot more
stuff to organize and and and coordinate understood than Cobra's Cobra. Ever,
one day, I just wanted to mess and I can
only let everybody know, yeah, what his value is. Yeah,
(46:49):
he could disappear for like an afternoon on the road,
and I'm telling you there will be a lot of
people because he's he runs the operation. I mean, he
gots you.
Speaker 1 (47:04):
If Cobra, yeah yeah, if on a game day afternoon,
if Cobra took two and a half hours off and
you couldn't reach it, it'd be like a bunch of
third graders, like on a field trip to Washington, d C.
We would just be lost, completely clueless.
Speaker 11 (47:20):
Well, depending on how many management style people are listening
to your podcasts, the best podcast ever.

Speaker 11 (48:59):
Hip hop ballers, music rappers. Those are the people guys
who have gained some girth over the years but still
have money. When we say hello to a pretty girl
and it's somebody, we don't want gut coming out the
bottom of our clothing. So always saying is give us
a bigger toss section. Do it on a trout basis.

Every time he makes a big dunk or a big three,
My my call is now. My name is Maximus.

I like the shots is all the loose great? Yeah,
I love those guys, man, And they're exactly what we needed.
And you know exactly and did.
Speaker 11 (50:17):
The different nuggets. Thought that they would come in here
and this would be an easy win. We didn't have Donovan,
we didn't have Kris LeVert and he figured, I'm just
gonna muscle this tall skinny Jared Allen off the wind.
He was brutalizing Jared Allen, and Jared Allen was staying
right with him. This guy is they all bowing him
in the facing the chops and everything, and thank god

Yeah, great kid too, exactly, Yeah, Yeah, I love exactly,
I love him, love him.
Speaker 5 (51:07):

Speaker 1 (51:08):
Rafa is going on the road. I am not going
on this road trip. Rafa is going on the road trip.
I still haven't. I still haven't done the day on
the road yet. Oh my god, Philadelphia, are you sure
there wasn't There was not one in Oklahoma City? I think, well, no, no,
I'm not surprise because I think in Oklahoma City they
think that's kind of foo foo.

Joe Rafa, This is a public service to all men.
Speaker 6 (51:34):
You all know how the females use toilet paper.
Speaker 11 (51:38):
Okay, when they go to get the toilet papers, Yeah
that's one, that's two, and then the double one.
Speaker 6 (51:47):
And they wipe a little bit of lipstick off their
lips and the toilet allway.
Speaker 3 (51:50):
You go.
Speaker 6 (51:50):
Sid my god, you're going through a roll of toilet
paper every two days.
Speaker 11 (51:54):
I bought a bidet. I go through a four pack
in about five months. Five months, Yeah, okay, because.

I never have to.
Speaker 6 (52:04):
People always think, oh, I'm that's scotching.
Speaker 11 (52:06):
No, no, no no. When you go to the car wash,
you do the undercarriage, right, Yeah, you get the salt
and all the crap that accumulates underneath the door. But
that's what you're doing when you go and get a
potaina back. You get a nice power wash back there. Yeah,
and you're fresh and clean. Look, they don't don't think
about it in any other way other than cleanliness.
Speaker 6 (52:28):
Instead of doing it in a shower and turning around
for that little hose with a little shower sprinkling stuff. Now,
get you a gusher.
Speaker 1 (52:37):
No, you need a double barreled.
Speaker 6 (52:39):
But they power wash that's not CD.
Speaker 11 (52:43):
Now you feel fresh and clean, you use no toilet paper,
and you go on about your business after your business.
Speaker 1 (52:50):
See Ralpherd. That's why we have Murdy on the on
the fiftieth broadcast.
Speaker 5 (52:54):

a brilliant idea. They're probably gonna make millions off the
gold Trust.

team and they go, oh my god, I want some

just like me. Get us a team shot. Caps team shot,
big and tall department monsters, people, cavaliers, people charge people, girls, people,
people with capitol, they will all buy the big and
tall gar here.
