All right, sir, live on a Thursday edition flee lea
Browns Daily. I am merely Bo, he is the great Z.
How you living, Buddy?
Speaker 3 (00:38):
I'm good. I'm good. Happy that I haven't been sent
out anywhere yet.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
No, I mean you and I at one point have
done DLD. Yeah, what a time to be alive. We've
done MV MVD MVD from the Mall of America, which
was a delight SFND we've done that, yeah, from Pedro's house.
So we've done that.
Speaker 3 (00:59):
So we're lot.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
We bounced around, buddy, We bounced around. We could another
day another trade, So here we go. Here are the details.
Trade went down last night. This one's surprising too. Brown's
acquire quarterback Tyson Campbell, a twenty twenty six seventh round
pick the Jaguars in exchange will get Greg Newsome any
twenty twenty six sixth round pick. So that is the deal.
(01:24):
Can you make sense of this a little bit.
Speaker 3 (01:26):
For the folks?
Speaker 4 (01:27):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (01:27):
I think it comes down to three things. The first
is Greg obviously is playing very very well. He's in
on his fifth year option, so he is not going
to be you know, he's going to command a big
payday on the open market, and I don't think the
Browns were going to be able to pay him what
he was going to be able to get. So if
(01:49):
you do nothing with that, you'd maybe be looking at
a third round compensatory pick if he were to go.
Speaker 3 (01:56):
I think so that's one part of it.
Speaker 5 (01:57):
Number two, Tyson Campbell is similar age to Greg Newsom's draft,
same draft. Yeah, he was a second he was the
first pick of the second round. Yeah, he's pick number
thirty three probably what is that? Seven picks behind Greg?
I think Greg was twenty sixth overall? Do I have
that right?
Speaker 3 (02:12):
Yeah? So we're in there.
Speaker 5 (02:13):
Yeah, so he's twenty five, So same age, type of
a player. See what Newsom's Greg is there? I mean
within sixty days of each other.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
Newsom was the.
Speaker 5 (02:23):
Twenty six ye sent nine thirty three one two boom,
there you go, thirty three seven picks between the two
of them. Tyson Campbell a little bit bigger, six to one,
one hundred and ninety five little he's he's a physical player. Listen,
Greg was It's had nothing to do with Greg per se.
It's they liked Tyson Campbell at the contract situation was
(02:44):
was real. Tyson Campbell is more of a man traditional
man press man corner. That's where he is at his best.
So from the Jags perspective, he had played very well
for them. They give him the big contract after twenty
twenty four, and he with the new coach, they bring
in a new defense and they're playing a lot more zone,
(03:04):
so it's not really what he's doing. So schematically, they
love Greg for you know, remember I remember when he
was drafted. Scheme agnostic, but very could be very good zone,
very good man. Gregg's good. We bring in a guy
in Tyson Campbell who's much more of a man corner.
Already has six passes defense so far this year. First
two years in the league he was really really good,
and he's dealt with some injuries the last two but
(03:24):
this first years in the league, you know, five picks,
twenty five passes defense, was looking like a you know,
on his way to superstardom, so you're gonna have to
get him back to that. He'll be playing opposite Denzel,
which I think will be good for him, but can
get his hands on the football, good ball skills, you know,
career wise, more picks, more passes defense than Greg at
the time of the trade.
Speaker 3 (03:44):
And then you know you save money.
Speaker 5 (03:45):
Not only do you save money, because Campbell signed a
four year, seventy six million dollar contract with the Jags.
The Jags are paying basically thirty million of that, so
the Browns are gonna get in some ways at bargain.
This year, they save nine million on the cap, which
can be rolled over next year at Campbell I think
costs like a million dollars to the Browns before there's
a bigger hit in twenty seven. But so basically, you're
(04:07):
taking for a team that needs some guys to be
under contract. You're getting a guy at a position that
is important and certainly schematically important to your team. You
get a guy that you think is a very good
fit for what you want to do and what you
want your cornerback to be, and he's under contract and
at a good rate, whereas Greg was gonna go. You know, Greg,
the way he's playing is gonna get more than twenty
million dollars a year, which is fantastic for him. I
(04:29):
love Greg Newsom. I mean, it's a bummer. We joked,
you know, who are we gonna have on the show
because we have Greg on all the time. Yeah, but
I certainly wish him, wish him well down there, and
it's yeah, it's it's a shocker, to say the least.
It's for it to come as it did on late
on a Wednesday night, you know, Tyson for there, I
expect they expected him to be able to be here
in practice today.
Speaker 3 (04:49):
He's out there, yeah, and he will and he will
play this Sunday. That's that's the plan. And I think
play a lot.
Speaker 4 (04:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
So you know, we rarely see that in the league.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
No things happened this week that you almost never see
a guy who is a starting quarterback for one team
being traded in the division. I don't think that's ever
happened quarterback who started a game for being traded to
a divisional rival in season. The two instances we had
were took place in April. Joe started the season for
(05:22):
US and now has traded to Cincinnati in the season,
so that's never happened, and you rarely get a position
for position match swap let alone now like on a
Wednesday in early October. You just never see this type
of a thing happen. But you are seeing more trades earlier.
I mean, we had the trade earlier this week with
(05:42):
Baltimore and the Chargers. So there are some some there
are some trade levers that are being pulled a little bit,
and that's not something we're used to seeing this time
of year. You bring up a lot of great points.
The one that I think that the fans. The other
one I think fans really have to pay attention to.
Obviously stylistic fit yep age fit basically a swapout. The
(06:04):
cap savings hit is massive. The other thing is is
this is not another contract to negotiate. You and I
have talked a lot for the last I don't know
really since the summer about we have the job after
this season of putting together the roster for twenty twenty
six is massive. Like on the offensive line alone is
just it's just a lot of negotiating you got to do.
(06:27):
It's a lot of signing. It's a drafting, re signing,
deciding who can play who can't, convincing people to stay.
If you can have what you view as a positional
fit that's better size wise, that's better, and that's already
done and cheaper.
Speaker 3 (06:44):
That's why you do it. That's why I think that
there's excitement here.
Speaker 5 (06:47):
Obviously they know a very good player going out, and
I would say it is fair to say that Greg
has been better this year than Tyson Campbell, but Tyson
Campbell has been very elite at various.
Speaker 3 (06:57):
Points in his career.
Speaker 5 (06:58):
The contract says that, and hope, you know, his this
situation coming back here into this defense is going to
be very good for him. He's a very willing tackler,
good in the run game. He's a physical guy, and
you'll hear Brandon Lynch later on talk about him. But
I think that that's that's why they made the move.
They're gonna have to. We need guys that are here,
(07:22):
that are young, that are ascending, that are also under contract.
I think, you know, with the MJ injury last year,
now you bring Tyson in here, so you've got MJ,
you'll you'll bring back I would imagine. I certainly hope
so and then you got Denzel and Tyson Campbell. So
a little bit of a surprise certainly, you know, you
wish it tappen a little bit earlier in the week.
But if we're gonna go out there and play a
lot of man defense, then you know, play man. Here's
(07:44):
here's how we play man. It's it's man, go out
there and get it done. But yeah, Browns are certainly
making moves.
Speaker 6 (07:50):
You know.
Speaker 5 (07:50):
That's three trades now in the last week. Yeah, Cam
Robinson coming in as well, so we'll see we'll all
better eyes match up for us against DK Metcalf though,
which is you know, perhaps part of the impetus for that.
Speaker 3 (08:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:06):
And you know the other part here with this is
all of these trades that have happened are with an
eye to hear, but also down the road, which gets
us to where this where we stand now with draft picks,
we have our own picks one through five. First round
pick from Jacksonville that's part of the Travis Hunter trade,
(08:27):
fifth round pick from Vegas that's part of the Picket trade,
another five from Cincinnati that's the Flacco trade, a seventh
from Philly via Jacksonville the Newsom trade, and then a
seventh from Seattle and the Nick Harris trade. So it's
what's your upwards of ten draft picks in twenty twenty
six is kind of what it needs to be, and honestly,
it's going to need to be a draft similar to
the way this one is shaping out so far, where
(08:48):
you need to hit on a bunch of them because
you have to replenish this roster in a big, big way.
They know what we know, they know who they don't
have signed on the offensive line, they know all of
those things, and so everything that's being done, I would assume,
is to try to make that as tenable as possible
as you you try to convince some guys to come back,
but then also have to completely give that room a
(09:09):
shot of adrenaline because it could be a there could
be a lot of turnover there.
Speaker 5 (09:13):
You have a lot, listen, you have a lot of
things that you are going to have to address, and
what this trade does is takes corner back off of
that list.
Speaker 3 (09:21):
That's a big one to a degree.
Speaker 5 (09:22):
So yeah, that's why that that's why they made the deal.
This is a deal that they think is and nobody
knows how it's ultimately going to play out, but they think.
Speaker 3 (09:29):
It's at least like a current wash.
Speaker 5 (09:32):
Yeah, because they think Campbell will be better in our
system than he was in Jacksonville, where he is kind
of ill fitted for that system. Remember that that's not
the staff or the GM that drafted or paid him. No,
So it's a new scheme, new system. So they're making
they make that change there, and that's why you see
this something like this happen.
Speaker 3 (09:51):
I was shocked. Not gonna lie, I was definitely shocked.
Speaker 5 (09:54):
It's good that he's here, he's practicing, looks good in
the number seven, and we'll see, uh see what he
can do out there because I think he is going
to be thrust into it. Dom Jones I think could
get some some reps as well in the event that
he's not ready to play a full workload like Greg
played every snap last week, sixty five out of sixty
five on the defense.
Speaker 2 (10:10):
So yeah, has Campbell been doing that in Jacksonville? I
assume yeah, yeah, Yeah, he was there, number one guy.
Speaker 3 (10:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (10:19):
And the other thing is is if if you can
get MJ back next year healthy. Now now you're talking, yep,
you know that's I mean, that's lengthy, guys, Denzel, I
think is the best mirror cover in the league. And
then those two guys are both bigger body corners who
can handle some of the bigger receivers that are out there.
(10:41):
So let's let's also remember that mj Emerson is going
to hopefully be part of this equation next year as well.
Speaker 3 (10:46):
He's not under contract though, right they Jay's a free agent.
Speaker 5 (10:49):
He's a free agent at the end of this year,
so that's something you could work out before handle.
Speaker 3 (10:52):
You know that he's gonna be okay, Hello, GiB I
saw him.
Speaker 7 (10:55):
Hi, how are you? I saw him yesterday? He came
in from walk through walking No race is nothing, Yeah,
we miss him looking really good, progressing. A little hitch
in the gidea, you could tell there's a little something,
but otherwise, I mean he is still progressing very very well.
Speaker 2 (11:11):
August yeah, August, yeah, so that's really August late July.
I mean it was right at the beginning. It's amazing
how far all of that has come. Just even like
what we're seeing from Deshaun with the Achilles, like just
seeing video of him like doing stuff, and it's like
that used to be forget it man. Yeah, and guys
can battle back. We got the best in the business
(11:32):
doing the doing the work on him, and they're getting
back in a big, big way. So the team is
out on the practice field certain about a half hour
or so ago. I think two forty five. Tyson Campbell
is in fact out there. Shelby Harris is back today
as well. The only player not practicing is safety Demante Kazi.
Speaker 3 (11:47):
That is it. That is the list.
Speaker 2 (11:50):
What'd you watch last night? How's the baby boy doing?
Four months today?
Speaker 3 (12:00):
Today? Four months? Yeah, four months for Luca, he's great.
Speaker 2 (12:04):
To do the sticker with the four and all that.
For the polk Oh.
Speaker 5 (12:06):
Yeah, we got the Phoe. We have like a Matt.
It's like a golf themeed Matt. It's awesome. Yeah, No,
he's great. Had all the kids over last night. It
was very fun.
Speaker 3 (12:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (12:17):
By the time I had to go get Bryce because
Bryce says his show coming up, so I had to
go get him. By the time I got home, it
was basically bathtime and then bedtime, and then I think
we watched like a few seconds of Dancing with the Stars.
Speaker 3 (12:28):
We watched like the end of that. Kids all they
love that, okay, And then that was pretty.
Speaker 2 (12:32):
Much nice, fun show. I picked up on Netflix last night.
I was. I watched a little of the baseball. There
is still something about Yankee Stadium at this time of year,
just the look, and yet no, I have problems with
that pyramid. I haven't watched anything in two months, buddy,
I haven't watched anything in two months.
Speaker 7 (12:52):
All right, all right, I haven't.
Speaker 2 (12:53):
It's been all it's been all sports and kids and stuff.
So we haven't started a new show. I can't even
remember what was the last one we were watching one
this oh Gilded Age. We watched the summer. That was
the last thing that we watched. That's been off since July.
So I haven't started anything new yet. It's on the
list of things to start. But I was watching the baseball.
There was something. There is something about the way Yankee
Stadium photographs that I would say is similar.
Speaker 7 (13:14):
To like the Rose Bowl.
Speaker 3 (13:15):
It's beautifuoere.
Speaker 2 (13:16):
You can you know, you know, all you need is
like the outfield grass and you can pick it and
go to Yankee Stadium.
Speaker 3 (13:22):
That's it.
Speaker 2 (13:23):
So I watched a little bit of that, and it
was cool to see Toronto move on and.
Speaker 3 (13:28):
Get to the to the Alcs. That was cool.
Speaker 2 (13:30):
It's been a long time since they've been in that mix.
But after that was over, I was just bouncing around
and I just, I just I hadn't been into Netflix
in a long time, so I popped in there and
they had a show that said two thumbs up for
you and it was called House a Guinness.
Speaker 3 (13:45):
So have you seen the We're gonna watch it.
Speaker 2 (13:47):
Yeah, you're gonna love it because it's like Succession meets
Peaky Blinders. Yeah, so it's looks fantastic, it does. It
hits all the notes that you're gonna love. I watched
the show on the planes.
Speaker 5 (13:59):
On the way back, I watched the show Untamed, which
is the one that takes place in Usemite with Eric Banna,
Sam Neil.
Speaker 3 (14:05):
Oh, how's that? It's good? I mean, like, is that
a Netflix too?
Speaker 6 (14:10):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (14:11):
Yeah, it is a Netflix.
Speaker 7 (14:13):
It was good.
Speaker 3 (14:14):
It was It was entertaining.
Speaker 5 (14:15):
It starts off really good, like the opening is really good.
The end feels like one twist too many.
Speaker 7 (14:21):
Like just a little much.
Speaker 2 (14:22):
Do you think it had an ion coming back for
a second seat?
Speaker 5 (14:25):
It is coming back second even though like this was
a pretty definitive it could have. It stands the cliffhanger.
Speaker 3 (14:33):
That's what they always try to do.
Speaker 2 (14:34):
Now, they try to like, if we're lucky enough that
this can go to second, fine, but let's let's try
to have it so it's possible we could be done
after one.
Speaker 5 (14:41):
Well I think you have to do that because the
halfways you don't know. No, So this case like it,
it's done, and then I guess the idea will be
that'll go and tell like some other story from another
National park is like that's what seconds Like this one
was inmity, like the next one will be inde kind
of like they have the beautiful settings and all of that.
Speaker 3 (14:57):
Yeah, kind of.
Speaker 7 (14:58):
No, it was.
Speaker 3 (14:59):
I'm happy I watch it all right. I had one
question for you.
Speaker 5 (15:01):
This is what I meant to ask at the beginning
of this, and I forgot. You spent a great deal
of time down in Florida.
Speaker 3 (15:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (15:10):
I just find this whole duval thing so interesting. Like
imagine if somebody got traded to the Browns and then
he tweeted out, KaiA hoga.
Speaker 2 (15:20):
You know what I mean, It's amazing that it picked
up for them.
Speaker 3 (15:24):
So it wasn't when I was down there, it wasn't
a thing. I covered. Jigs jag.
Speaker 2 (15:29):
I always said, jigs and that always would get a
mad because it was Jags. I covered them from one
until through the six season. I didn't go there every game,
but I did all the big games. I did the
Monday night football games, I did the openers, I did
all that stuff over in Jacksonville, covered the Super Bowl there.
(15:51):
I don't recall ever hearing that in that time. So
I don't know who was the marketing person with the
Jaguars who said let's lean into it. I know why
they did it, or I don't know for certain, but
my hunches the reason they did it is they were
trying to If memory serves, the city of Jacksonville is
(16:12):
all of Duval County.
Speaker 3 (16:14):
Okay, the whole county.
Speaker 2 (16:16):
So it'd be like if the city of Cleveland was
all of Cuyahoga. Like if that's all that Cuyahoga County
was was Cleveland, no suburbs, nothing, Why is this just
the same name? Great question, great question, But I believe
that's the case.
Speaker 3 (16:30):
I believe.
Speaker 2 (16:30):
I believe Duval County is the city of Jacksonville, that
they're the same thing. Okay, Like I think Jacksonville is
the biggest city in America. I want to say I
could be speaking entirely out of my rear end, but
I think that Jacksonville is the biggest city in America
for the land size that it takes. Given do you
have can you fact check me on any of this?
Speaker 7 (16:49):
The Jacksonville Jaguars do Val slogan has roots in the nineties,
when it was popularized by local radio DJs, and then
gained wide spread adoption in the mid two thousands through
former players like Mike Peterson and Paul Spicer. The chant
became more mainstream around twenty thirteen, when fans voted on
(17:12):
Twitter to be called duvall, and the team embraced it
in their marketing and game day traditions, including the first
Duval kickoff in twenty eighteen.
Speaker 3 (17:20):
Okay, so that's track.
Speaker 2 (17:22):
So that's because I was going to say, I have
no recollection of it at all. When I would go
to games over there, I never heard anything not with it.
So my hunches, it's just has to do with the
fact that their city sucks. Yeah, the beaches are fine,
but like the my hunches, it's just like we're all
in this right. It's kind of my guess to it
(17:43):
the most fun I ever had in that city and
the thing that it does best is the cocktail party.
That's that's the thing I would like to go to.
The city of Jacksonville does best. They could not handle
the Super Bowl. They were just woefully miscast as a
super Bowl city, just way too small. And the last
time I was at the cocktail party was twenty years
ago now. But in those days, Jack's Landing was really
(18:05):
pretty cool. And so what you would get is that
game was always a three thirty kick on CBS. It
would spill out at seven thirty and then it would
take everyone would just kind of matriculate down to the
landing and the landing just filled with seventy thousand peo.
Speaker 3 (18:20):
It was amazing.
Speaker 2 (18:21):
Yeah, and everybody just mixed and had cocktails and it
was a great time.
Speaker 5 (18:25):
By the way, not from clown says there one hundred
percent correct about all of it. Dault County and Jacksonville there.
Speaker 3 (18:29):
You go every once in a while.
Speaker 2 (18:30):
Yeah, so but that's but yeah, it's a weird thing
that you just here's the thing though, like they're dealing
with this down in Columbus with the Buckeyes right now.
They tried to force this song as like a sing
along song. The new athletic director guy named ross By Yorke.
He came from Texas, A and M and right now,
all these college football teams they have this thing that
they do where they belt out a song over the
loud speakers and the whole crowd sings that they have
(18:51):
the lights and all of that stuff. Won't back down.
Speaker 3 (18:54):
From Florida.
Speaker 2 (18:55):
After Tom Petty left, Florida State does Eastbound and Down.
After Burt Reynolds died, Dixie Land Delight is at Alabama
calling on Baton Rouge. At LSU they do Mister Brightside.
At Michigan jump Around. Obviously at Wisconsin that's a little different.
So they were trying to come up with something that
could be like a sing along.
Speaker 3 (19:12):
Never mind the fact that they have hanging out in
you give them something like blink on.
Speaker 2 (19:15):
I did, Yeah, all the small things. I tried with
all of that. So they they settled on this song
from a band out of Upper Arlington called Camp and
the song is Ohio and it's a catchy enough song.
The problem is nobody knows it. Nobody knows the song,
never heard of it, and so they play it at
(19:36):
the end of the first quarter. First of all, it
should be the end of the third quarter. It's at
the end of the first, but they do it at
the end of the first because they play Sloopy at
the end of the third. So under the first quarter
of the song comes on, they put the lyrics up
and they play it on the big screen. Nobody even
knows what's going on, and nobody knows the song. And
so one thing I've told him is like, you have
to find the most rudimentary, almost annoying song. It's got
(19:58):
to be like Friends in Low Places or like Penn
State with Sweet Caroline, like it has to be something
that the whole masses know. And the reason that made
me think of this with this Duval thing is because this,
obviously from Gibbey's storytelling of it, came up very organically.
This stuff kind of always does happen that way. When
you try to force tradition or you try to force things,
(20:20):
it falls flat. It's got to be something that the
fan base gravitates too naturally. And for whatever reason, they
did down there with this. But when you try to
tell people this is what we're gonna do, people are like, no,
I'm good Man not doing it. So it's got Mike,
that's crazy that it became that way. And I don't
even remember it even being a big deal at all
(20:41):
until probably the last two or three years, the dvaal thing. Yeah,
I don't do you, I mean, other than the last
two or three years.
Speaker 5 (20:48):
No, And it's just so it's just strange.
Speaker 2 (20:53):
Yes, I agree, it is.
Speaker 3 (20:56):
It's yeah, it's odd. Yeah, I don't.
Speaker 5 (20:58):
It just struck me because obviously we made there was
a lot of light made about Liam Cohen when he
did his Dull yeah, and then you.
Speaker 3 (21:07):
Know Greg as everybody tweets out do all.
Speaker 4 (21:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (21:11):
It would be like if Tyson Campbell is like Kyle h.
It's just it's interesting, it is.
Speaker 2 (21:17):
It's weird they didn't name the city Duvall, yeah, or
the county Jacksonville.
Speaker 5 (21:22):
Something one of the yeah you don't need both, don't
need them both. Feels like it's confusion in the marketplace.
Speaker 7 (21:27):
It does seem that way.
Speaker 2 (21:28):

Cleveland Browns dot com slash community slash local business platform
for more. It is a Matchup Thursday edition. We will
begin with our offense versus the Steelers defense, and to
(22:30):
do so, first we must head to the podium. It's
presented by Vivid Seats Percher official fan experience package today
for the ultimate game Day. Here's your offensive coordinator, Tommy
Reese Killing's performance.
Speaker 8 (22:40):
Yeah, I thought he did a lot of positive things. Obviously,
unique week to prepare for Flores, and those guys do
a great job defensively of giving different looks. So there
was a lot that went into it on the front end.
Thought he did a nice job getting himself ready and prepared.
There's always things to clean up. You know, you can
be a rookie, you can be a fifteen year vet.
(23:03):
There's always going to be you know, plays and things
to clean up when you look at it, probably in
its totality, took care of the football, you know, did
a nice job for us coming out of half, did
a nice job on the second drive of the game.
You know, a third or nine play in the red zone.
Was really a good job getting through his progression. And
then you know there's some things later that we want
to clean up and continue to work on. But you know,
(23:23):
positive feeling after his first one.
Speaker 4 (23:26):
More out of the receiving core than you guys have
gotten so fun.
Speaker 8 (23:29):
Yeah, I think it's all of our jobs, right, It's
a it's a total group effort there. We got to
put them in good positions to have success. You know,
we got to be on time, We got to be
accurate when when we have opportunities. We got to make
contested plays. That's part of the NFL. But you know,
as a staff, we just we want to make sure
that we're putting them in the right spot and giving
them the best opportunities to have success best based on
what they do best and whether it's use of motion
(23:51):
or use of variations and formations. You know, we got
to be on it to make sure that we allow
those guys to go out there and play their full potential.
Speaker 3 (23:58):
You can expect to see growth in this that can start.
Speaker 4 (24:00):
And then what challenges is Pittsburgh's.
Speaker 8 (24:03):
Defense percent to that, Yeah, I mean Pittsburgh defense has
been who they've been for quite a while now and
starts with their front. You know, they have they have
an excellent front across the board. You know, you usually
got five covers. It's a lot of one on one matchups.
Linebackers are aggressive, retooled secondary that has a lot of talent.
So you know, certainly you might know where they line up,
(24:23):
but that doesn't mean it's an easy task. You know,
they have they have really good players and do a
nice job of playing hard, physical and creating pressure on
the quarterback. You know, they do a nice job with
bat at balls and creating you know, again the ability
to push the pocket inside with who they've got. You know,
for Dylan, I think operationally we look to the biggest
areas to improve. I mean after one start, there's gonna
(24:44):
be things that he's more comfortable doing. There's gonna be
rhythm there that he can get on the same page
with the offensive line and the rest of the skilled players,
and you just look to build, you know, the continuity
with the rest of the group. I think every time
he steps out there with those guys, you'll see that
can continue to improve, whether it's communication or physical, you know,
just connecting on things. I think that continuity will continue
(25:05):
to improve for him.
Speaker 9 (25:07):
Cam got one series there at Left Back Home and
then Katy was the rest one. Was that sort of
the plan going in to kind of just kind of
get his feet wet and how.
Speaker 3 (25:18):
Much more do you expect to utilize him this week?
Speaker 8 (25:21):
Yeah, hard week for camp, right, I mean you come
here and then all of a sudden you're going to Europe. So,
you know, we felt like he did a nice job
during the week. You know, we had a plan going
in the game get his feet wet a little bit.
So how it continues to go and evaluate it from there,
But you know, he did a nice job for us
a week ago getting ready to play, and you know
we'll continue to build on that. Steelers are second right
now with their ten takeaways, that defense wouldn't.
Speaker 7 (25:43):
Do well in terms of creating those.
Speaker 10 (25:46):
Kinds of spun.
Speaker 8 (25:46):
Yeah, they affect the quarterback, right, I mean they affect him.
Doesn't mean it's a strip sack or it's a sack
fumble or but they affect him in a way where
they bat balls, they push the pocket, they flush him
into making poor decisions. Like they do a great job
of affecting the quarterback, making the quarterback feel unsettled. And
then everywhere across the ball, they attack the football when
they tackle. I mean they're looking to bring you down,
(26:09):
but they are attacking the football as they tackle you.
So ball carrier, skilled players got to do a great job.
Lines got to cover down to make sure we're there
for him. And then you know, we got to do
our whole group protecting the quarterback. And part of that's
playing on time. Part of it's is doing a good
job with the edge players and the push inside.
Speaker 9 (26:27):
You see Dylan.
Speaker 11 (26:28):
In live action in a real NFL game a couple
of times, do you feel like his mobility is something
that you can now build on. You can see how
it holds up against NFL competition and as you've headed
into Pittsburgh and you even utilize some of that a
little bit more.
Speaker 10 (26:44):
Yeah, we'll see what it holds.
Speaker 8 (26:45):
You know, Like he has that ability, how much you
use it is probably by a game plan and certainly
part of his strength is his ability to create and move.
Speaker 10 (26:54):
So we'll see how that continues to unfold.
Speaker 7 (26:58):
Good Are you amazing that he's had to success without
him being here at all from kind of camping.
Speaker 10 (27:05):
The received God, that's a bad precedent.
Speaker 4 (27:09):
No.
Speaker 8 (27:09):
I mean, look, Quinn Shahn's a great player and he's
been you know, really football is really important to him,
and so like his ability to come in and hit
the ground running. He was here all off season, so
I think he had that part of it already built up,
which is really crucial to him being able to step
in and then his natural ability is taken over.
Speaker 10 (27:31):
But he's allowed he's allowed himself to do that.
Speaker 8 (27:32):
I mean, he cares so much about doing things, you know,
the way we're asking him owning the game plan, and
once he gets that part of it, you know, his
his ability starts to take over.
Speaker 3 (27:43):
All right.
Speaker 2 (27:44):
For the other perspective of this matchup, we had to Pittsburgh.
Now head coach Mike Tomlin on our offense obviously.
Speaker 12 (27:50):
Last week they went to Dylan Gabriel. This guy's a
unique rookie. First of all, he's twenty five years old,
Hawaii native. He's a year older than Herbert. To put
perspective on it, he's a six year college player. He
threw for over eighteen thousand yards in college, one hundred
and fifty five touchdowns, thirty two interceptions in terms of
(28:12):
a TD to interception ratio, and so I think that
inhelpment perspective, you can't put a price tag on.
Speaker 6 (28:18):
He also threw for.
Speaker 12 (28:19):
Ten thousand plus yards in high school, and so he
is a rookie new to the National Football League. But
this guy's throwing the football around a lot. He's older
and more experienced than most rookies. I think timely processing
is his superpower. And I think his experience and that
superpower has been on display, and I think those are
(28:40):
one of the central reasons why they went to him.
He's able to function and function with fluidity in an
effort to minimize negativity when passing. They play a lot
through their running back and their running game anyway, and
so we got a big challenge dealing with him and
dealing with them. This week mentioned their running game. I
(29:01):
can't say enough about what I'm seeing from Judkins. You know,
this guy is played in four games, he started three.
He had absolutely no training camp to speak of, and
that really highlights what it is that we're looking at.
Kudos to him and kudos to them for what he
and they are able to produce. He's a tough runner,
(29:23):
He's good inside, He's got good patience and picking vision
on interior running. He finished off, finishes off his runs
with violence. He's underrated in terms of his ability to
bounce it to the perimeter and pop long ones. He
had sixty yard or so they got called back in
London last week. That kind of highlights that I've seen
(29:45):
this guy a lot. Obviously, we got a couple of
his teammates from O State and so I've seen a
lot of his video. Man, he is a complete back.
He's the type of guy that can wear a defensive
unit down. Certainly fits their old There's an awesome replacement,
if you will, for for Nick Chubb, and I think
(30:06):
it's gonna do nothing but get better with him and them.
And when speaking about their run game, you know, certainly offensively,
they got a lot of young people playing. I mentioned
Dylan and Junkins's rookies, but Isaiah Bond and Fanning are
also rookies. So they have a lot of young guys
at the eligibles. But what they don't have is inexperience.
Speaker 6 (30:28):
Up front.
Speaker 12 (30:30):
There are three interior people, Teller, Palsik, Buttonio.
Speaker 4 (30:35):
Man.
Speaker 12 (30:35):
They've been doing it a long time, man, I think,
but Aotonio has got one hundred and sixty six starts.
The other guys have around ninety a piece. In the
National Football League, they probably got fifty or so together
that collective, and I think that interior group up front
really sets the pace for them down in and down
out from a protection standpoint and running the ball. I
(30:56):
don't think enough is written and said about that collective
and how critical that collective is to their offensive output instability.
Got a lot of respect for those guys, man, We
got a full day's work ahead of us trying to
minimize their run game with that runner and those three
interior people up front. In the passing game. Certainly, as
(31:16):
I mentioned, gabriel superpower is his process and his timely processing,
and I think that's on display and his utilization of
tight ends. And then Djokho's a guy that we've been
dealing with for a long time. Really talented, really good
after the catch, can turn screens and check downs into
big games. He's got to highlight real full of plays
(31:38):
of dragon defenders and things of that nature under those circumstances.
And Fanning is an oversized athlete. I think you box
him in when you view him as a tight end.
It's been some of those athletes in recent years. I
think brock Bauer reflects that in Vegas for example. He's
probably the prototype of the young guys in that mold,
(31:58):
if you will. I think that's one of the reasons
why we're really excited about acquiring John hu Is, because
I think he fits into that category. Those guys are
unique athletes. They got really good run after and athleticism,
their matchup problems for linebackers. They're oftentimes too big and
strong for secondary people. And I see all of that,
and Fannings play saw a lot of his Bowling Green tape.
(32:20):
He's a talented guy. They're doing an also job of
utilizing him. And on the outside with Judy and bond Man,
they got some guys with big time athleticism capable of
producing big plays.
Speaker 3 (32:32):
All right, there you go.
Speaker 2 (32:33):
Time now for our first matchup, our offense versus the
Steelers defense. It's presented by bally Bet bally Bets Sportsbook,
official sports winning partner of your Cleveland Browns. Please bet responsibly.
We turn it over to Duc Dizi.
Speaker 5 (32:46):
Well, the Steelers, they still are the Blitzburg Steelers, but
so far kind of mediocre defensively, number twenty scoring defense.
Now they are the number thirty pass defense, they are
the number nineteen rush defense, and they're giving up five
point seven yards per place. So they have struggled a
little bit as a defense so far this season. But
(33:07):
what their superpower is Mike Tomlin is taking the football away.
Five fumbles, five interceptions, ten takeaways. They're twenty first on
third down, twenty first on fourth down, sixteenth in the
red zone, twenty second goal to go. So this has
not been a good defense, but they have been very
good at taking the football away from their opponents and
(33:28):
that's why they have been able to win so many games.
It's a three to four base defense.
Speaker 3 (33:33):
Up front.
Speaker 5 (33:33):
They've got Derek Harmon, their first round pick out of Oregon,
he's only played two games.
Speaker 3 (33:37):
He was injured in preseason two. He's got a sack
so far.
Speaker 5 (33:39):
They've got Keanu Benton is the big guy in the middle,
their second rounder in twenty three. He's got a career
high one and a half sacks already. And then Cam Hayward,
the veteran who has been his fifteenth NFL season, seven
time Pro Bowler, five time All Pro. He's got a
sack already, gets his hands up there. Three passes defense
as well. Their pass rushers.
Speaker 3 (33:58):
TJ.
Speaker 5 (33:58):
Watt, you know him very very well. Seven time Pro bowler,
five time All Pro, was a Defensive Player of the
Year in twenty twenty one. He's got one hundred and
eleven sacks and thirty four forced fumbles. That's the most
among the active players. And he's got three sacks in
the last two games, so he's playing well. Back to
his form. And then on the other side, Alex Highsmith
should be back. He's missed the last two games with
(34:19):
an ankle injury. He's got to sack this season. He
was the guy who had fourteen and a half sacks
in twenty twenty two. Nick Herbig though, has filled in
for him. He's second on the team with two and
a half sacks. He's got an interception of force, fumble,
quarterback eight quarterback hits. He's played very well. The fourth
round pick in twenty twenty three out of Wisconsin, he's
been very impressive. Then they're linebacker. They also have Jack
(34:40):
Sawyer's got to sack the rookie out of Ohio State.
And then in the middle it's Peyton Wilson and Patrick Queen.
They both have thirty five tackles on the season. Queen
a two time Pro Bowler. They both have a sack
this year. They make plays behind the line of scrimmage.
They've been very very good there. Back end, it's a
new look back end. Joey Porter's only played one game
so far this season. They've got wan thorn Hill, the
(35:01):
former Brown Jalen Ramsey is there now in the trade
the mink of Fitzpatrick trade. Deshaun Elliott is back, and
then Darius Slay is their other new corner.
Speaker 3 (35:08):
But when you look at.
Speaker 5 (35:09):
Them this season from a pass defense standpoint thirtieth in
the NFL, they have struggled, given up seven passing touchdowns
in just four games. Slay's given up one hundred and
thirty seven rating in coverage, Jalen Ramsey ninety two rating,
Wan Thornhill won fifty five point eight, Joey Porter one
hundred and six. The guys who have actually played the
best for them are James Pierre and undrafted free agent
and Brandon Eckles. They have been very good filling in
(35:31):
with all the injuries there. They also have former Brown
Jabrill Peppers there. Chuck Clark is another safety, so a
lot of depth there, but they have not been dominant.
They're gonna play single high safety, so the middle of
the field will be closed. We'll get a guy in
the middle of the defense there. They will blitz you
a lot thirty eight point seven percent, third most in
the league. Their primary coverages are Cover one and Cover three.
(35:52):
They play those twenty percent and forty six point seven percent, respectively,
so two thirds of their coverage will be Cover one
or Cover three.
Speaker 3 (36:01):
Play a lot of man, not a lot of zone.
Speaker 5 (36:03):
They do have a lot of busted coverage as I mentioned,
twelve of those, second most in the league. And they
do play their base defense quite a bit, which is
that three to four that I talked about where you
would have Harmon Benton Hayward, Watt, high Smith, Wilson and Queen.
And they'll drop one of those guys on the end
every now and then into coverage try to fool you.
But they have not been a great defense. I definitely
think the Browns have an opportunity to put some points
(36:24):
up on the board against them, trying to, you know,
still get to that elusive twenty point mark.
Speaker 3 (36:29):
They're giving up twenty three a game.
Speaker 2 (36:32):
Give I and g Man want to know the Browns
beat the Steelers Sunday if they do.
Speaker 3 (36:35):
What on offense.
Speaker 5 (36:37):
Well, it starts with it, and it's not enough as
we saw last week, but it starts with taking care
of the football right. You can't have any giveaways, can't
have any any turnovers. Now you did that last week.
But that's going to be part of it. Another part
of it's going to be getting some chunk plays. You
have got to be able to get the football down
the field. If you get lucky enough that they get
a busted coverage, you've got to be able to take
advantage of it. You've got to hit that play. We
(36:57):
need better play out of our wide receivers. We need
better play out Jerry Judy. When you better play out
of Isaiah Bond. We got to keep running the football.
But I think it's keeping Dylan Gabriel protected, keeping them upright,
and keeping the football away from the Steelers. The only
reason they beat the Patriots. For examples, they had five
takeaways in that game. They don't beat the Patriots without that.
The five takeaways, two of them inside the two yard
(37:18):
line going into the end zone. So that's gonna be
the key. But I really think this one is much
more about can this Browns football team find a way
to hit some of the chunk plays, get the football
down the field. Can you get Jerry Judy going? You
know right now, you look at the passing touchdowns on
this team, there are five of them. Cedar Tillman, who's
not gonna plays on endur reserve, has two. Dylan Sampson
(37:41):
has one. He hasn't played all that much anymore. Nadjoku
and Harold fan And each have the other two, and
those both happened in London last week. We don't have
right now. We don't have a wide receiver who will
be active in this game that has a touchdown reception
in this season.
Speaker 3 (37:55):
That's got to change. We've got to get these receivers going.
Speaker 2 (37:57):
It's just that it's you should be able to go offensively. Yes,
good grief. First two weeks both running backs Seattle Kenneth
Walker went over one hundred yards. Week one they played
the Jets Bresee Hall was they were Jets ran for
one hundred and eighty five yards against him, Like, you
can have success. Then Carson wentz through for three three
fifty Like it's there that you can move the ball
(38:19):
on these guys. As long as you turn don't turn
it over, you should be able to have some success. Yes,
this is We're a long ways from the steel curtain
with the way that the Steelers team is playing right
now on the defensive side. We'll get the other side
of the matchup coming up in about twenty minutes from now,
coming up next to Egos one on one with Brown's
cornerback coach b Ledge.
Speaker 3 (38:38):
That's coming up next.
Speaker 2 (38:38):

Brown's cornerbacks coach with us here and b Lynch. We
like to have you come here just because we love
hanging out with you and learning from you and getting
your wisdom and the smile and all the positivity. But
it's also kind of newsy your room, Big change. Went
(39:21):
to bed last night. I got a baby at home.
We got a four month old today, four months today,
So I was asleep before ten o'clock and I woke up.
I'm like, Greg Newsom has been traded to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Tyson Campbell's gonna be a Brown start with Greg. I'm
sure you are sad to see him go, but at
the same time proud of all these accomplished Have you
seen him grow in your time with him?
Speaker 6 (39:40):
Absolutely?
Speaker 13 (39:40):
You know, I've really the biggest thing with him is
like the toughness and competitiveness, you know, And we talk
about like really honing in on every rep as a statement,
like from the meeting room to the grass, you know,
everywhere in between. And you've really seen him like take
advantage of that. You know, he taking the bull bott
of horns with challenging to like really be more physical
on the field for us to give like more effort,
(40:02):
more swagging passion. And you've seen it really on tape,
you know this past year. You know he's playing extremely
extremely hard. You know, we talk about guys being trusted
teammates and coach Afanski talks a lot about being tough
and competitive, like you're seeing that on tape in the
meeting room.
Speaker 6 (40:18):
At practice and obviously on Sundays.
Speaker 3 (40:21):
So for you kind of how does this go?
Speaker 5 (40:23):
Like do you get a text message or a call
for maybe and like, hey, Greg's been traded? How does
it like take us through kind of how this actually
goes because so much of this is, yes, it is
about what happens.
Speaker 3 (40:33):
Between those white lines.
Speaker 5 (40:34):
But I know and have a great deal respect for
the amount of time that goes in the personal relationships
and bonds that you must develop, and so all of
a sudden, like one of your guys, it happens, it
can happen like it did unfortunately right there with MJ
for injury and then all of a sudden Greg for
a trade. So how does this like, how do you
find out about it? And how does the information get disseminated?
Speaker 13 (40:51):
Sure, you know we talk a bit about you we
have to be our best when the best is required,
you know, and when we talk about like being the best,
you got to be a great communicator. So you know,
ab Kevin, they do a really good job like keeping
us ahead of place, just like we ask our guys
on the field. So you know, when it did come up,
you know, obviously at Trusted Advisors they let us know.
Speaker 6 (41:12):
And then as a professional, you got to do your job.
Speaker 13 (41:14):
You got to be solution oriented and you got to
be at your best when the best is required. And
we're bringing Tyson in this week, you know, we're expecting
that young guy to go out there and really embody
what we do. So as a teacher, we have to
do a really good job in docinating me into what's
important to us. And Kevin says it best like standard right,
and our standard is do what we're supposed to do
when we're supposed to do it every time. So I'm
(41:36):
looking forward to him getting in like understanding what our
defensive is all about, you know, with our physical violence,
which he's all about that.
Speaker 6 (41:44):
You know, he's always been about that.
Speaker 13 (41:45):
From Georgia, you know, and certainly with Jacksonville, and really
just seeing him play with some effort and swag.
Speaker 5 (41:51):
So when you have a guy come in and then
you're going to get him, hopefully he'll be on the
grass today, yet I'm ready for a game on Sunday.
Now it helps it. His now natural kind of go
to is to be a pressman court. Just so happens,
we play as much pressman as anybody in the.
Speaker 3 (42:06):
National Football League. So that's a good fit. Is that
just as simple as like you're playing man, cover your guy?
Speaker 5 (42:13):
But I'm sure we have specific techniques or certain techniques
that we like to incorporate. So how different is playing
man than playing man if you know what I mean,
like man for the Cleveland Browns versus Okay, you're thinking
like he's playing man.
Speaker 13 (42:25):
Sure, you know, we pride ourselves and teachers have simplifying
the complex. So really like having an opportunity where he's
coming into a great culture of guys that understand, you
know what the expectation is when we align up from
a guy and how we try to simplify it, you know,
in case in point, when our guys line up, we
talk about keeping it in buckets one.
Speaker 6 (42:47):
On one, two, one, three on one.
Speaker 13 (42:49):
When he gets in, you know where you get in
from OTAs we say one on one, you know, And
it's as simple as our stance are alignment, our keys,
our first step.
Speaker 6 (42:57):
Yep.
Speaker 13 (42:57):
If you get an outside release, we say kick the
lead position, play to nine, respond to everything else. You
get an inside release, we say kick the even arms length,
we play seven to dig. So obviously, like once he
gets in, really simplifying that because he has the traits
to be great, right, and then from there, you know,
the two h two of that is now what type
of releases are you getting based on who we play?
(43:19):
You know, And I'm really you know, as a staff,
we're really excited about really like him comprehending that because
he's another smart player, like having him before the draft.
He's football savvy, he understands ball. He's seen a lot
of ball, right, and the level ball very high level,
and he's played at a high level. And then the
three on one version is now within those motions and splits,
(43:41):
how do you narrow that down within that? Okay, outside release?
What is that outside release? Is it back shoulder? Is
it nine? Is it convertinate? You know, nine yards back
to the quarterback? Inside releases? Okay, based on certain formations,
you're only getting one of the two. And he's a
guy that you know obviously, you know he can he
can munch those numbers and he can operate fast.
Speaker 3 (44:02):
How interesting is it?
Speaker 5 (44:03):
And you like can give great perspective on this, But
for example, Tyson was very productive in Jacksonville and gets
the big contract, new staff comes in, they're not playing
as much Man now they're playing a lot of zone.
That's not really necessarily of course he can play it,
but that's not what he was necessarily drafted to do it.
Speaker 3 (44:21):
Now he's going to get to come to a place
with Man.
Speaker 5 (44:23):
So how much does kind of scheme matter to accentuate
the talents of a player, and perhaps you know, mask
to the best of your abilities, the negatives of a player.
Speaker 13 (44:31):
Sure, you know, we say who we play, what they play,
what we play best personnel two D reference to injuries,
And I say that based on who we plan, what
they play, what we play man. We're press man team, Like,
we're not trying to trick you. You know, our engine
like they're going to get home. Our defensive line has
been vastly improved, our nerves center does a good job
(44:52):
at communicating. So really like bringing a young guy in
that like fits like what we do. Like we want
physical guys out so you know, he's a physical corner, right.
We like thirty two inches guys that can put hands
on and disrupt at the line of scrimmage. He can
do that well, and most importantly, he has that tough
competitive mindset. So really just getting them out here, man, Like,
I'm looking forward to this.
Speaker 3 (45:13):
That'll be fun.
Speaker 5 (45:14):
And you obviously have a great leader in the room
in Denzel Ward, one of the best in the league
certainly to do it. I'm sure he's chomping to get
out there after the last game. And then you got
a young guy Miles Harden, who I think has really
kind of stepped up. Because one of the things I've
noticed as teams the last two weeks in particular, it
really kind of jumped out to me, are using that
kind of late motion where they quickly get and last
week it was justin Jefferson where he gets inside, so
(45:36):
now he's on Miles and they do it kind of
at the last second, so it's kind of that's the man,
and he's held up. He's hell up against Jamison Williams
two weeks ago, who was a top ten pick and
certainly held up against Justin Jefferson, one of the best
receivers in the league. So how's he performing and how's
his confidence growing for what you guys are asking him
to do, and knowing the teams are listen, they didn't
want to go with Denzel, they don't really want to
go with Greg. They're going to try to find a
way to get that matchup. And he's done.
Speaker 13 (45:57):
It sure consistency, you know, But it goes back to
the standard do what we're supposed to do when we're
supposed to do it every time. Like we're not trying
to like make things over complicated. We want to do
a really good job with our fundamentals and techniques, and
then we want to have endurance in precision with applying them,
you know, And I think the biggest thing to that
is having a room that holds each other accountable. You know,
(46:18):
those guys are really good job at self correcting when
they come on the sideline, you know, and you're showing
these guys plays. Miles is very quick to say, look, coach,
on this play, I didn't get the ball thrown, but
I know I need to throw my head back and
play the leverage. So guys having that type of self awareness,
you know, it really helps that.
Speaker 6 (46:35):
It helps the rookie curve a little bit.
Speaker 5 (46:37):
There was a two play sequence where they did that
where they use kind of that late short motion where
Jefferson went from I think outside to Indy get onto
Miles and they ran the play and he went up
and ran a dig, but it was a penalty that
they called the playback and they end up going back
to the exact same formation, the exact same motion, except
this time Jefferson went up and instead of around the dig,
(46:57):
ran an out. I may have it reversed, but you
know what I'm talking about that too, yes, And Miles
was on it because they tried to give him the
same look and be like, Okay, you think you know
what's coming, and here's one of the best rout runners
in league and he was still on it. I was
really impressed when they did that because I thought they
came when they come out on the same look and
give you the same thing again, They're trying they want
you to think it's the same, and really I think
everybody else kind of was the same except for Justin
(47:18):
Jefferson was where Carson Wentz was like staring at him
and miles at him.
Speaker 13 (47:22):
Absolutely, man statement like stay within your toolbox, stay within
those fundamentals and techniques.
Speaker 6 (47:27):
All right.
Speaker 5 (47:28):
Talked about some of the young guys, now Dom Jones
getting signed up to the to the roster, but some
of the young guys in that room that you know,
we know how this league works, and we don't know
if Tyson's gonna be able to just step in here
and go the full game at that spot. So we
could see some of these guys, who have you been
impressed by and what should fans be looking for if
they do get an opportunity on Sundaygainsteelers.
Speaker 13 (47:45):
Absolutely, you know, Dom is a guy who fits everything
that we do right, you know, long corner, who's physical
in the perimeter. Like we talked a lot about like
want to like we want guys that want to come
up and make tackles.
Speaker 6 (47:58):
He's a guy who's a contact seeker.
Speaker 13 (47:59):
You know, he's a guy that comes in early, stays late,
trust the teammate. The other two young guys are jerk
you know. Jeric is a young guy, another thirty two
inch along, very long right, and he's a guy that
he's a contact seeker. You know, he's a guy that's
extremely tough, competitive. You know, he's always ripping it the ball.
You know, he's a guy that you know when we're
(48:20):
in meetings, he's somebody that Denzel always kind of points
out with his effort getting off stock blocks, sprinting across
the ball to get fists on ball. He really stands out.
And then we got another young guy, Trey Avery. Yeah,
Swiss Army knife. You know young man is he's a
Baltimore guy.
Speaker 3 (48:35):
Seen him on special teams.
Speaker 13 (48:37):
Yeah, you know, Baltimore guy, tough edge. You know, he
plays with physicality and he's he's almost like a like
a silent assassin. You know, he's one of those guys
that you know, he's not very vocal, but when he speaks.
Is big, big challenge.
Speaker 5 (48:52):
Speaking of big Aaron Rodgers four time MVP, this will
be a fun one. They also have another big literally
Dk Metcalf, who has been kind of their leading receiver.
Speaker 3 (49:00):
When you have a quarterback who.
Speaker 5 (49:02):
Can operate the way that Aaron Rodgers can and so
far this year they've been getting the ball out very quickly,
quickest in the NFL.
Speaker 3 (49:09):
How does that kind of impact what you guys want
to do?
Speaker 6 (49:11):
Russian coverage work together.
Speaker 13 (49:12):
You know, we have to do a really good job
getting tight, staying tight, and then winning second leverage. You know,
we want to do a good job playing inside out
that way our defensive.
Speaker 6 (49:21):
Line can get home.
Speaker 13 (49:22):
You know he is he does have the fastest time
to throw with the shortest path day yep, So we
got to do a good job like with our alignments,
with our communication early and often that we really got
to exeq fast and you.
Speaker 5 (49:33):
Got to come up and tackle. So they're gonna throw
a screen, yes, so they're gonna do a lot of that. Coach,
thank you so much for the time. But all I
wish we could keep talking, but we got a lot.
Everybody wants to come out here. It's a big day
here and Maria, but excited to see you. Excited to
get Tyson out here on the field and see what
we can do against Eelers on Sunday to get a big.
Speaker 6 (49:47):
Win, pleasure Man, thanks for having us.
Speaker 2 (49:49):
To the all time best right there, Zee and b Lynch.

(51:08):
Experience Package Day for the Ultimate Game Day. Here's your
defensive coordinator, Jim Schwartz.
Speaker 14 (51:13):
Enough after news, Well, it would be it would be Tyson.
He just he just put boots on the ground. Yeah,
you know, he's a veteran player. We've got players ready
in less time than that. We sort of, you know,
we have our intricacies and we have a few things
that we do uniquely, but we also do a lot
(51:33):
of things that he's done in the past.
Speaker 4 (51:36):
Late last night, watched some film.
Speaker 14 (51:38):
Of him, and you know, it's just a matter of
him getting terminology down and holding on the safeties and
the nickels to communicate to him and then if we
also if we need to. We're excited about Tom Jones also.
You know, Dom is sort of you know, he's he's
leaped every hurdle we've put in front of him since
(51:59):
he was an undrafted player. He played well in practice,
he played well against Carolina and the practices, played well
in the preseason games. He's big, he's be strong, he
plays square, and he plays physical, all things that we like.
So you know, we'll see where it is. Because I
haven't even met him yet. He just put boots on
(52:20):
the ground after getting his physical So well, we'll see
where it is and have a good plan for Sunday.
Whoever it is. But it would be one of those
two guys film.
Speaker 11 (52:31):
What did you see in Tyson that you liked?
Speaker 14 (52:34):
Yeah, well it was after the fact, you know, it
wasn't It wasn't. I mean, that's that's Kevin and Abes
Mayby's thing. And you know I would say this, We're
really gonna miss Greg. I'm such a good guy, you
guys know. I'm a great locker room guy, great worker,
great pro productive player, always a positive attitude, brought a
(52:55):
lot of energy. So we're certainly going to miss him.
So our excitement of Tyson doesn't diminish, you know, in
no way diminishes. You know what we felt about Greg.
But Tyson's got size, he's got excellent straight line speed,
timed well, and he has track experience. I mean as
(53:16):
a former one hundred meter and two hundred meter state
champion State of Florida, which will get your attention.
Speaker 4 (53:23):
You know, he's a.
Speaker 14 (53:24):
Physical player, he's a good tackler. I'd have to say
he probably wasn't a great fit for their scheme change,
and he's probably you know, a little bit more of a.
Speaker 4 (53:37):
More of a scheme fit for us.
Speaker 14 (53:38):
He's a good press cover guy, challenges guys on the
outside part of the field. Anytime you get a change
in head coach, defensive coordinator GM, you know, sometimes decisions
and things that they liked about a player's skill set
in the previous regime might not fit. And I think
it was that it was that opportunity here. I can't
(53:59):
speak for Aba or Kevin, I know I'm up here,
but you know they can go into the rational worksited
about having a good player and a guy that's been
productive in the NFL, and we'll.
Speaker 4 (54:11):
Try to get him up as quick as we can.
Speaker 3 (54:14):
You know, Aaron Rodgers a lot over your career, especially,
he's going to kind of where you most looking forward
to with this next chapter of a fast living turnout.
Speaker 14 (54:22):
Yeah, he's one of the great great quarterbacks in the
history of the NFL. You know, there's a lot of
youth unique things. You know, he was I mentioned the
hard count. He's he was one of the ogs hard count.
Everybody used to try to hard count to get guys
off sides to get five yards, and he was one
of the first ones to build in taking deep shots
(54:42):
off of it.
Speaker 4 (54:44):
And we really got.
Speaker 14 (54:45):
To be hyper alert for that that and trying to
sub and catching twelve guys on the field because he's
going downtown with those things and has made a lot
of plays over the course of his career doing that.
So you know, up front, we can't put stress on
our secondary just giving him free shots, free shots with
deep passes by being all sides. So that's been a
(55:07):
big point of emphasis for what he does, you know,
and and he's got great arm talent, but it doesn't
always look the way that you know other people. There's
you know, classic throwers and things like that. He's just
got such a loose arm. He can throw from six
million different angles. He's extremely accurate. You know, he's he's
(55:30):
been he's been an outstanding quarterback, been a Super Bowl winner.
We certainly have a lot of respect for him, and
we're gonna have to play our best. You know, he's
he's he's putting the ball in positions that his guys
can make plays, right. You know, so you're a point
guard and you're getting the guys the ball and you
they're open, and they're hitting layups and they're wide open
(55:50):
jumpers and things like that. Well, that's the way he's
playing quarterback.
Speaker 4 (55:54):
You know.
Speaker 14 (55:54):
I think it's it's somewhere in the neighborhood of seventy
percent of their passing yards is run after the catch.
And it's like, you know that that's a ridiculously high number,
and but that's you know that that's a tribute to him.
Speaker 4 (56:07):
Number one.
Speaker 14 (56:07):
He's throwing accurate passes that allow them to run after
the catch and just knowing where to go and just
you know, put the ball in your playmaker's hands. Anytime
a ball is in a playmaker's hands is a good play.
And he uses all the guys. You know, he's got
running back war and it's averaging almost thirteen yards of catch.
I mean, there's a lot of wide receivers that will
(56:28):
be really really happy with thirteen yards to catch. That's
a running back. And he also has some play extension ability,
you know, And and he's always made some big plays
down the field and play extension. So you know, we're
gonna have to We're gonna have to cover the whole field,
and we have to play really well. We're gonna to
be able to pressure up front. We're gonna have to
cover in the back end. It's going to take our
(56:48):
best effort.
Speaker 3 (56:50):
It's a lot of very quickly.
Speaker 7 (56:52):
Aaron does that.
Speaker 2 (56:53):
Yeah, so what's the antidote today is that puts a
pressure on the secondary to cover.
Speaker 14 (56:57):
Yeah, cover quicker, cover longer. You know, there's there's, there's things.
But so did Joe Burrow. Joe Burrow through the ball
extremely quick, you know, like you said, Aaron Rodgers, I
think he might have the quickest time to throw in
the whole NFL right this point. And a lot of
them are short targets. So you just have to cover
(57:20):
your short zones, your short man demand really well and
try to buy a little bit of time cloud to
picture up a little bit close some windows. We were
very effective going against going against Burrow doing that, So
we're gonna it's gonna take a lot of the same
kind of effort to combat that and buy some time
for a pass rush to get home.
Speaker 2 (57:42):
All right, for the other side of the matchup, we
go behind enemy lines with Steelers. Heage coach Mike Tumblin.
Here are his thoughts on our defense.
Speaker 12 (57:50):
You know, they got great players, they got great schematics
to get an experienced coordinator in Jim Schwartz. I think
you know, they're probably one of the top defenses in
football Statistically. It doesn't matter how you describe it or
shape it. They're good against the run, they're good against
the pass, they're good in situations sudden change, tight red zone,
(58:12):
et cetera. Obviously, if you're starting up front and that's
what you do, it starts with Miles Garrett. He's a
game wrecker. We're highly familiar with him, but everyone in
the division is yet and still I think he had
two plus sacks versus Baltimore, two plus sacks versus Cincinnati
this year, and so we'll we'll take our shot at
(58:35):
working to minimize him. A component of that is staying
out of one dimensional passing circumstances. We better do a
good job of that. Certainly, we're going to deploy all
the schematics that most people do trying to minimize a
guy like him. We'll use tight end body position, we'll
use chip help will slide the line that way, but
everybody does. This guy has one hundred and sole career
(58:57):
sacks with people doing that yet and still he still
gets home. That's why he is who he is, and
so you know, we have that to contend with. But
I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the other guys.
The rest of the guys are doing great. Man Mason,
their draft pick out of Michigan as a plug and
play type is highly disruptive, and the rest of their
(59:18):
group is as well. They do a nice job deploying
schematics man as you work to do some of the
things that people do to minimize miles. The other three
guys work in tandem. They have all some three man
games versus four linemen and things of that nature that
really wreak havoc on past protection. They got a strong
secondary led by Denzel Ward and Delpit. Those guys have
(59:41):
been back there for a long time and and play smart.
They do a great job of communicating. They're multiple As
I mentioned, Schwartz has been around a long time, and
that guy does a great job of working to play
to their strengths and to cover up potential weaknesses that
all units have. You see that in his schematics. He's
(01:00:02):
thoughtfully aggressive. You feel game planning he caters is playing
week to week based on the things that that opponents do.
He's capable of going big and five defensive linemen versus
run games and so forth that he respects. Saw a
lot of that versus Baltimore. He's multiple in terms of
dime packages and so forth against teams that throw the
(01:00:24):
ball around a lot. So to add a lot against Cincinnati,
for example. And so we got a lot of work
in front of us. We got a long week.
Speaker 2 (01:00:33):
All right, there you go. Time for our second matchup.
It's presented by bally Bet bally BET's Sportsbook, official sports
betting partner of your Cleveland Browns. Please bet responsibly. For
a look at our defense against the Steelers offense, we
turn it over to Duc Dizzy.
Speaker 3 (01:00:48):
All right, Steelers, here's where they're at. Is it great?
Speaker 5 (01:00:55):
Thirty first rushing offense, twenty seventh passing offense, twenty ninth
overall offense. That doesn't feel like that's great, But again
we go back to that turnover thing. That's why they win.
Aaron Rodgers on the season, sixty nine percent completion, seven
hundred and eighty six yards, eight touchdowns, three picks, one
hundred and three ratings, been sacked nine times in four games.
(01:01:15):
He's got the quickest time to throw in the NFL.
Three of the games he's got the ball out on
average under two and a half seconds. Those were all
three of their wins. They don't run it well. I
told you that Jalen Warren averaging three point one yards
of carry in three games. He looks like he will
be back. Kenneth Gainwell, though, looked pretty darn good last week.
Nineteen carries ninety nine yards, so over five yards of carry,
two touchdowns. He had six catches for thirty five yards,
(01:01:35):
career high one hundred and thirty four and two scores.
They also drafted Caleb Johnson in the third round. He
hasn't done much. Eight carries for twenty one yards this season.
Arthur Smith's the offense coordinator. A lot of two tight
end sets, but they're not really using them in the
passing game.
Speaker 3 (01:01:50):
It's very odd.
Speaker 5 (01:01:51):
John new Smith has fourteen catches, that is second on
the team, behind only DK Metcalfs fifteen. Dk Metcalf's fifteen
catches have gone for two hundred and sixty one yards
and three touchdowns. John new Smith's fourteen catches have gone
for seventy one yards. Crazy five point one yards a catch.
I've never seen that. No, Friarmuth had six. John new
Smith and Friarmuth now grand they were on different teams
(01:02:11):
because John Smith was a pro bowler in Miami. Last
year he had eighty eight for eight eighty four and eight.
Friarmuth had six, fifty three and seven. So far combined,
they have twenty one catches for one hundred and thirty
six yards this year. Is baffling. What's going on. They're
not using those tight ends. Solid offensive line though. If
there was a weakness, it's at the tackle position. Troy
(01:02:32):
Foutanu and Broderick Jones.
Speaker 3 (01:02:35):
How do you think you.
Speaker 5 (01:02:36):
Would say that this guy here, I'm bad at the
foul tan Ootanu?
Speaker 2 (01:02:43):
Yeah, Faltano Fatano oo ooh I.
Speaker 3 (01:02:46):
Think two oo oo.
Speaker 5 (01:02:48):
Yeah, good job you Fatanu yep. And Broderick Jones those guys.
Speaker 3 (01:02:51):
Yes, Gibe.
Speaker 15 (01:02:52):
Troy Fatanu, first round pick last year out of Washington.
Patanu missed the entire season, miss the entire season last year.
Within injury started the year, but yeah, got hurt.
Speaker 5 (01:03:04):
G man, it's weird that you would have such an
intimate knowledge of the Steelers offensive line happenings.
Speaker 15 (01:03:09):
Well, yeah, I mean Isaac's It's like Broderick Jones is
the left tackle out of Georgia, Isaac Samalo is the
left guard.
Speaker 3 (01:03:19):
Hold on, does he have the right guard?
Speaker 15 (01:03:21):
The right guard is Mason McCormick, who went where South
Dakota State.
Speaker 2 (01:03:25):
It's a lot of information there.
Speaker 5 (01:03:28):
Maybe he likes the natchos there too, he might people
I was saying, disease got the the PJS.
Speaker 3 (01:03:34):
Remember, oh yeah, picture, I got his. I remember, I remember.
Speaker 7 (01:03:39):
We're taking a G man on the road with us
this week.
Speaker 3 (01:03:41):
And oh, mama.
Speaker 2 (01:03:45):
Man exactly, Oh boy, yeah, okay, okay, okay, okay, all right, So.
Speaker 5 (01:03:54):
Good offensive line, Aaron Rodgers I said, playing well, really,
it's a one man show. In the receiving game, DK metcalf,
he's their leading receiver fifteen for two sixty one. Now
keep in mind, though one hundred and twenty six of
those came last week. When you have that quick time
to throw, you're not really getting the ball down the
field a lot. Now he has scored in three of
the four games, but not big plays Calvin Austin has
not practiced this week yet with the shoulder. He was
(01:04:15):
their second leading receiver at that position, the wide receiver
position behind that. That means either got Ben Scronic, who's
got one catch for twenty two yards a touchdown. He
makes me a little nervous though on the in his
career six hundred and sixty six yards receiving, m Roman
Wilson's got one catch for seven yards. Scottie Miller no stats.
So they really haven't had a receiver who's done anything
(01:04:36):
other than DK Metcalf.
Speaker 3 (01:04:37):
So they're an interesting offense, not exactly exciting.
Speaker 2 (01:04:41):
Yeah, so what do you make of I mean the
fact that Rogers getting it out as quick.
Speaker 3 (01:04:47):
As he is. Yeah, he doesn't want to get hit.
Speaker 2 (01:04:49):
He doesn't want to get hit, so he's getting it
out ultra quick and it's seventy percent completions there. They
really are, I mean, you just went through all of this.
They're not great statistically offense or defense. You get their
three and one, it's like all house money at this
point for them.
Speaker 7 (01:05:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:05:04):
Yeah, And he's just getting it out quick and they're
winning games and.
Speaker 5 (01:05:07):
It's crazy how they have a good opportunity here to.
I mean, when you look around it's going on the division.
They have a good chance to win this division. And
I don't think they're that good. They have a negative
point differential. They've been out gained in every game that
they have played so far this year, and yet they're
three and one.
Speaker 2 (01:05:21):
This is a beatable team. This is a beatable, beatable
New England should have had him. The Jets could have
had them week one. They did lose, in fact, to
the Seattle and they handled Vikings seventeen. I think they
lost the Vikings.
Speaker 3 (01:05:34):
Quite yeah, Frankly as well. No, yeah, there's I think.
Speaker 2 (01:05:38):
One of the crazy things to me about them is
I really thought Caleb Johnson would come in and be
a dude right away from them, but they haven't trusted
him because of the he had miss the mistake on
special teams, and they haven't trusted in events. The Browns
beat the Steelers on Sunday, if they do what defensively.
Speaker 5 (01:05:53):
Keep turning the football over. Limit the yards after the
catch when you get it out that quick. That means
their passing game is relying in many cases on yards
for the catch, So limit those go. Get Aaron Rodgers
not exactly the most mobile guy at this point in
his career. Go get him. Let's go big big. You know,
you know we're not gonna allow three hundred yard passer.
Hasn't thrown for two hundred fifty in a game yet
this year, we haven't allowed three inner yard passer and
(01:06:15):
now thirty three straight games, which is a it feels
like it's a long as the active straight.
Speaker 3 (01:06:19):
Soon we should be going in on a record. That's
what it feels like.
Speaker 7 (01:06:21):
I would think so too.
Speaker 2 (01:06:23):

Fill your game day cooler, the threshing taste of twisted tea,
hard iced tea, smooth, real brood tea, five percent kick
of alcohol. Look for the bright yellow cans, twisted tea.
Keep it twist.
Speaker 7 (01:07:30):
By the way, we move merchandise, which we already know
we do a fine job of that. That's right, justin Fila,
our own tequila, our own tequa. Last Friday's headed home. Ye,
here's the spot, here's the live read YEP. Immediately it
is like, you know what.
Speaker 3 (01:07:48):
That sounds pretty nice, sounds all right.
Speaker 7 (01:07:51):
Get himself a nice little twall pack. See who needs
date night when you can go play video games and
have a twelve.
Speaker 3 (01:08:00):
Have the time of your life.
Speaker 7 (01:08:01):
That's right.
Speaker 2 (01:08:02):
Just imagine they they started throwing as quarter zips that
we could feature down at the pro shop. What this
would look like, golf hoodies quarter zips. That's we want
to move some mer kids.
Speaker 7 (01:08:13):
Who was wearing oh my doppel last week in London?
What was he wearing?
Speaker 3 (01:08:18):
The ass sweet literally.
Speaker 5 (01:08:20):
Study on that was like a custom one of one
oh one of the ones at the Great Frame.
Speaker 2 (01:08:24):
Yeah, that's what Frame's operation. I told him the other
I'm like, dude, it's next level what you got going on?
Speaker 3 (01:08:30):
I don't understand it. I'm gonna be honest for a second.
I don't understand why we don't have.
Speaker 5 (01:08:35):
So I think of those notes, but what Steelers notes,
that's anything of those notes.
Speaker 3 (01:08:41):
I don't understand.
Speaker 5 (01:08:43):
I don't understand why we don't have like our own
mertz like. I feel like every department here has their
own like a merch.
Speaker 3 (01:08:53):
Well, yeah, we have our own stuff. We design it,
we know exactly what we want.
Speaker 2 (01:08:57):
Yeah, there might be a way, you know what, I
think I'll save that for off time. Now for the
fantasy minute. It's presented by scale Co Capital, scale Co Capital,
Proud private equity partner of.
Speaker 3 (01:09:09):
Your thank you. Oh that's a pencil from the grove.
That's a how about that? The best part is no mistakes.
Speaker 2 (01:09:15):
It's funny because you've been to two groves.
Speaker 3 (01:09:17):
I have been the last year twenty three better. Yeah,
but look at that. That's interesting.
Speaker 7 (01:09:23):
No pens in the hotel room. Pencils.
Speaker 3 (01:09:25):
What are you gonna do? You gonna raise it? Then
it's a it's a real nice lead. Oh you like that?
That's a number two lead?
Speaker 6 (01:09:34):
Oh?
Speaker 7 (01:09:34):
Yeah, can't you brought one of those home?
Speaker 15 (01:09:38):
Me?
Speaker 7 (01:09:38):
Neither.
Speaker 3 (01:09:39):
It just showed up in my backpack.
Speaker 2 (01:09:40):
I wonder why pencil wash out. Maybe the if you
write it on a you get it on a piece
of fabric.
Speaker 3 (01:09:46):
Or something's got a nice right to it it, does
you know? I moved to is these what's your beak
on that thing? Yeah? That's nice.
Speaker 2 (01:09:57):
I think it's a little bit of a finer tivvy.
Those are my guys.
Speaker 3 (01:10:01):
That is a nice tip. The only thing that.
Speaker 5 (01:10:06):
I think I got the black lung pop. Oh no,
there's some fumes.
Speaker 2 (01:10:11):
Oh yeah, yeah, I guess. Careful, easy, got a lot
of show.
Speaker 3 (01:10:15):
Are you crazy now? Fantasy minute?
Speaker 4 (01:10:18):
You ready?
Speaker 3 (01:10:19):
No?
Speaker 7 (01:10:19):
Okay?
Speaker 3 (01:10:21):
Sure?
Speaker 2 (01:10:22):
Which Browns player are you playing this week?
Speaker 5 (01:10:26):
Let's go uh Judkins comic quinch On stud guy's incredible. Yeah,
we're gonna go ahead and we're gonna roll with him.
He's gonna be great. That's really where we're at with him.
When you look at you know, from a brown standpoint,
you're gonna play the Browns defense. You're gonna play quinch
On Judkins, and I think right now you can play.
(01:10:47):
Depending on the league and the depth of the league,
either of the tight ends, either Najoku or Harold Fannon.
I think are both. Those are guys both that you
really couldn't You're not afraid at all to what your beacon.
This is a week though, where you're really gonna you're
gonna have to dig a little bit deep here because injuries, buys,
all of those things are going on. It's tough quarterback position,
you know, decimated two of the top five out. Matt
(01:11:09):
Stafford has become at this point in every week play.
Drake May has become an every week play for your
fantasy football teams. Those are guys that I think you've
got to get in there. Mac Jones if he starts
again this week against Tampa Bay, big Mac Jones fan,
I think that you would want to roll with him.
Some running backs to get in there. If you're in
a non PPR league, Hassan Haskins, the former Michigan running back,
(01:11:30):
is going to be the guy with a Marion Hampton out.
Speaker 6 (01:11:32):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (01:11:33):
If you're in a PPR league, I think Kamani Vidal
Sessoon will be the guy that what happened.
Speaker 2 (01:11:39):
To Vodal Sassoon that was such a big deal man.
Speaker 3 (01:11:41):
Yeah, do you guys even know I'm sure they don't
even know. What that doctor, j or g man, You
guys even know what Vodal Sassoon is.
Speaker 7 (01:11:55):
Nothing.
Speaker 3 (01:11:55):
He's just furrowing his brows, gives try to explain it.
I love gibb off off my that's the best.
Speaker 7 (01:12:01):
What's that? They know?
Speaker 3 (01:12:02):
No clue?
Speaker 7 (01:12:03):
No one?
Speaker 3 (01:12:03):
Oh man, but else as soon was everywhere? What's saying
over there? Uh? Crosskey Merritt. Get him in your lineup? JK.
Speaker 5 (01:12:12):
Dobbins, get him, keep him in your lineup. Rico dowdle
if he gets to start with if Hubbard's out again,
must start. Javonte Williams is the top five every guy.
I feel so vindicated. I was so big on Javonte
Williams for so m Yeah, I know, it's great to
see him.
Speaker 3 (01:12:24):
It is him thriving.
Speaker 5 (01:12:26):
Michael Carter in Arizona with the injuries, they're having somebody
who certainly can play wide receiver position.
Speaker 3 (01:12:32):
Kendrick Bourne, the Bourne identity.
Speaker 5 (01:12:34):
Do it again this week, especially with looks like those
receivers are going to be out again in San Francisco.
Speaker 3 (01:12:38):
He will be the main man. Lad McConkie ladd, come on,
can we get the ball a little bit? What's going on?
Speaker 6 (01:12:45):
Guy?
Speaker 5 (01:12:45):
Was an early draft pick for me, not really getting
it done. Stefan Diggs seems to be back to being
a number one receiver and somebody that you would certainly
put in your lineups right now. Trying to think some
guys down the line a little bit that you want
to get in there. I mentioned Bourne. Seems like Calvin
Ridley starting to wake up a little bit, which would
be nice. I think he's a good by low candidate
if he wanted to go and make ahead to make
(01:13:06):
a trade for him. He's somebody to keep an eye
on there. And then at the tight end position, talked
about both of our guys. Jake Ferguson is the number
one tight end right now in fantasy football.
Speaker 3 (01:13:15):
He's been a beast. Kelsey's playing well, Ken Kaid, Kyle
Pitts is coming on.
Speaker 7 (01:13:19):
Ton Just.
Speaker 3 (01:13:22):
I don't know if that's how you say it, but
it sounds like.
Speaker 5 (01:13:26):
Just into wine water into what turn the other cheek
Just has scored folks in back to bad games all
the ton Just all the time. He's scored three times
this year. Yeah, I like Tonjas just a good what
a good name. It's the name that inspires confidence.
Speaker 3 (01:13:43):
Yeah, there's no doubt Darren Waller. All he does is
catch touchdowns.
Speaker 7 (01:13:46):
This guy.
Speaker 5 (01:13:47):
That's one of the craziest stories there is. He's just like, yeah,
here I.
Speaker 2 (01:13:52):
Am out of the league and then catches. All he
does is catch touchdowns. Yeah, he's got three already.
Speaker 7 (01:13:56):
I know.
Speaker 3 (01:13:56):
Guy's been an absolute monster.
Speaker 2 (01:13:59):
You know, the Ferguson guy dating or engaged to who
one of those Cavender girls from the University of Miami,
those basketball Instagram girls who were the.
Speaker 3 (01:14:06):
First one wasn't one of them dating like Carson Beck?
Speaker 2 (01:14:08):
Yeah, so's he's engaged to the other one. The other
one was dating Carson Beck. Yeah, huh Yeah. They were
like the first nil millionaires were those two. They played
like seven years of college basketball, like an entire career
at Fresno State and then like two years at Miami
for both of them. One even transferred to TCU free
You're never played, how about it?
Speaker 3 (01:14:28):
All right? Real quink, That's probably where she met mister Ferguson.
Speaker 5 (01:14:30):
The defenses the pack off there by against Joe Flat,
I think Flaco was gonna get his yards. But if
it's a sack turnover league, I think that you could
do pretty well with them. Broncos Jets. Eagles against the
German Patriots against New Orleans is a nice one. Seahawks
against the Jags, that's not as great of a matchup.
And then the Colts have been really good fantasy defense,
and especially if if Kylum Murrays outed like them against
(01:14:51):
our guy Jacobe Prissett.
Speaker 7 (01:14:53):
There you go.

named mc escher?
Speaker 6 (01:16:10):
Such?
Speaker 3 (01:16:11):
That is it?
Speaker 2 (01:16:12):
I haven't thought of him in thirty years, but yeah,
I think that might be.
Speaker 3 (01:16:15):
Is it really? Em C? I don't know? It felt right,
that's what popped into my mind. Yeah, do you know,
Gibbe m c esher?
Speaker 7 (01:16:20):
Where did you.
Speaker 3 (01:16:21):
Sit on a pencil? I love depends. Look at this.
Look what I'm doing right now. You do some great work.
That's beautiful.
Speaker 7 (01:16:26):
I did stick a finely sharpened pencil underneath the buddy
of mine who sat on it, and then had to
go to the eer. No, God give it, he put
a tack on my seat. I got him back. It
was mono mono, except it wasn't. And then I had
to go and apologize to his family and parents and
my my buddy. Shout out Ryan Crowner if you're listening.
(01:16:47):
But he's sitting there laughing at me the whole time.
And I was liked he.
Speaker 2 (01:16:50):
Won, and even in losing, he won.
Speaker 7 (01:16:53):
Yeah, boy did he because I was forever.
Speaker 2 (01:16:56):
You've always been a rap scallion gibbing.
Speaker 7 (01:16:58):
The warden just shut me down. I was on lockdown,
maximum security nothing.
Speaker 5 (01:17:04):
By the way, before we continue, we gotta give a
shout out today because when it's due, it's due to
Lavelle Holly and Paula. Cafe was bonkers today. Minnestrone is here,
back to back brothy soups, which I'm I'm always brother.
We were living way too much in the dairy souper world.
Speaker 3 (01:17:22):
Get that's a minimal. Think about the idea of heating
up milk and then drinking it like no.
Speaker 6 (01:17:28):
Cat.
Speaker 3 (01:17:28):
No, I'm not a cat. I'm brothy soups all day,
all day long.
Speaker 5 (01:17:31):
But they had that, and they also had they had
a real nice uh skirts taking a chimmy churry a.
Speaker 3 (01:17:38):
Lot of flavor. That's a good job, good job out
of that, out of that group. I love young Gabriel.
Speaker 7 (01:17:46):
We're doing a million things back here. He's crushing it.
Speaker 3 (01:17:49):
What are you doing back here? Where are the mailbag?
Speaker 6 (01:17:51):
Questions?
Speaker 7 (01:17:52):
Love a Dog Today tweets at the program, Well number one,
I tweeted out the fact we were going to the
mail bag at two thirty really just like.
Speaker 5 (01:18:04):
All around town and blame and so jet lag. We
were outside of coaches office today.
Speaker 7 (01:18:10):
I felt good today. I feel good today. I just
forget that we are on from one to three.
Speaker 3 (01:18:17):
I know your body is used to shutting it down.
Speaker 7 (01:18:20):
Yeah, well we don't shut it down. No, your body
from Love and Dog Today. What is your favorite Little
Debbie snack?
Speaker 3 (01:18:36):
I'd like that?
Speaker 4 (01:18:37):
On?
Speaker 5 (01:18:38):
Can we have is that save somewhere? Can have that blade?
And whenever I want it? That was the I'd like
it whenever I want?
Speaker 2 (01:18:46):
Really close?
Speaker 3 (01:18:49):
What was the question? Her cakes?
Speaker 7 (01:18:51):
What was what is your favorite little Debbie?
Speaker 3 (01:18:54):
Her cakes? Aren't their little Debbie cakes?
Speaker 7 (01:18:57):
Yeah? There are some kind of cake there.
Speaker 3 (01:19:00):
Let me see what they got? What we got here?
We got any apple pie? Do we have a cake
filled with a.
Speaker 7 (01:19:05):
Just little is little little Debbie? Do they do the
ho host Okay?
Speaker 3 (01:19:08):
So like Nick? No, that's hostess, isn't it Nick?
Speaker 2 (01:19:11):
Saban was big on the oatmeal cream pies. I didn't
have much use for those. I'll tell you what I like.
Speaker 3 (01:19:17):
The look is that?
Speaker 2 (01:19:18):
Is that a Is that a nutty buddy like? So, yeah,
there's a nutty buddy right there. It looks like I
feel like that zebra cake roll is something I said,
is do they do zingers?
Speaker 3 (01:19:30):
I loved the zinger as a kid. You know what
I loved. I'm gonna be honest with you. I was
a hostess man, and I think I'm more.
Speaker 2 (01:19:38):
Of a hostess guy. I'm sorry for the little Debbie fans.
When young Ghibbet was honey buns, I didn't have any
of that.
Speaker 3 (01:19:44):
Throwing down ding dongs.
Speaker 7 (01:19:45):
I was getting the orangebra cabra cakes, orange.
Speaker 5 (01:19:49):
Cupcakes, the orange cupcake frosting. The frosting on a orange
cupcake was unreal. Sometimes I would order them and all
I would eat was I'd peel off that top layer.
Speaker 3 (01:19:59):
Sure, I would just.
Speaker 2 (01:19:59):
Eat that, just sucked that down. Yeah, I don't know.
The Swiss rolls might be kind of appealing, but yeah,
I think I was. I was with the other team.
I think I think it was hosted hostess host us
all the way. That this could be East coast West
coast thing too. Maybe maybe there's more Little Debbie out
here and out western.
Speaker 7 (01:20:17):
We might have to we might save this g man
for this is a great off season, by the way,
to compare the Little Debbie versus Hostess, because what we
are finding things that were like.
Speaker 5 (01:20:27):
Oh, Nana says it was in fact MC yes, sure,
thank you, Nna.
Speaker 7 (01:20:33):
Good job.
Speaker 3 (01:20:34):
What a drop in out of you to out of nowhere.
Speaker 5 (01:20:42):
I'm just nervous to talk about anything that I like
on this program after the inconceivable decision by Hudsonville ice
Cream to get rid of that wasn't on you, I know,
but it just makes me nervous.
Speaker 3 (01:20:53):
It just is so odd to me. They have eighty
flavor people at that company.
Speaker 2 (01:20:57):
How they've got all these Like did they run out
of bananas?
Speaker 3 (01:21:01):
Come on, No, bananas are everywhere, dude.
Speaker 7 (01:21:03):
And the price of bananas is still the price of bananas.
Speaker 2 (01:21:07):
I mean, I don't even know what world I would
want to be in here. I mean in terms of
where they are now, I mean birthday cake, black Cherry,
blue Moon.
Speaker 5 (01:21:18):
An apple fruit pie ice cream.
Speaker 3 (01:21:22):
Maybe I'm intrigued. I don't want to give them no
I'm done with that company. I am on it.
Speaker 5 (01:21:28):
I think I'm on strike from them. And they had
the best mouthfeel. So it's sad to me. But when
you get rid of the best flavor, you can't be trusted.
Speaker 6 (01:21:35):
I can't.
Speaker 2 (01:21:36):
It was a mouthfeel that you just you're not going
to get with any any other scream. The other thing
that was crazy about it was a price point. It
was crazy peach comedy.
Speaker 7 (01:21:47):
Believe it or not. I'm looking.
Speaker 3 (01:21:48):
They got a little little Debbie collab.
Speaker 7 (01:21:50):
They do it still has half a tub left.
Speaker 2 (01:21:52):
Yeah, they got Savory Man Savorite.
Speaker 3 (01:21:55):
Well, you remember what happened to mine.
Speaker 2 (01:21:56):
We had the broken freezer.
Speaker 3 (01:21:57):
I lost five pints.
Speaker 2 (01:21:58):
Don't even someone should have executed for that, I mean
just went well, needless to say, that was less of
a financial burden than the loss of the costco crab
cakes or crabb legs.
Speaker 5 (01:22:07):
Especially with my ice at crab right now, I feel like,
is that one of those things do you think with
that where like, yeah, there were for some reasons, some
shortages at one time, and so that yeah, from thirty
three to like sixty five, and they're like, guess what,
people are still buying it, So let's just keep it
there of course.
Speaker 3 (01:22:23):
Yeah, sixty five dollars a pound. Yeah, it's outrageous.
Speaker 2 (01:22:26):
You speil to get him for like one seventy nine
for the box, and now I think.
Speaker 5 (01:22:29):
It's and then it went to like three hundred, which
was good, and now it's like six hundred dollars for
a box.
Speaker 2 (01:22:34):
Yeah, it's a ten pound box. Yeah, listen, if I'm dropping,
there's not a single one of these that I need.
Speaker 5 (01:22:38):
If I'm dropping sixty bucks a pound on something, it
better be off Beef Baby.
Speaker 3 (01:22:42):
That's what I dropped it on right there.
Speaker 7 (01:22:44):
Off Beef Brown's backers, North Jersey tweets at the show.
Speaker 10 (01:22:48):
Guys, I like that.
Speaker 3 (01:22:48):
Yeah, these guys are good, good guys.
Speaker 7 (01:22:50):
With the litla buck up for grabs this week, what's
the coolest rivalry trophy?
Speaker 2 (01:22:55):
Oh it's easy, it's not even close.
Speaker 7 (01:22:59):
Is it the acts?
Speaker 5 (01:23:00):
I think it's the Axe, it's fromoy Floyd of Rosedale.
Speaker 2 (01:23:05):
Excuse me, it's Floyd of Rosedale.
Speaker 3 (01:23:09):
What's the Floyd of Rosedale? And who's I put my iPad?
Speaker 7 (01:23:15):
It's the winner, It's unbelievable.
Speaker 2 (01:23:16):
Who plays It's Iowa. It's Iowa, Minnesota, I believe or
I think it's Iowa, Minnesota or iow Wisconsin.
Speaker 3 (01:23:24):
I'm not sure. It's really better than the acts. It's
a bronze pig. The thing is amazing.
Speaker 7 (01:23:29):
It's an amazing piece, and it says Floyd of Rosedale's unbelievable.
Speaker 3 (01:23:35):
Look at this.
Speaker 7 (01:23:36):
I don't even know, like what, who wouldn't want that
guy behind you? Behind you?
Speaker 6 (01:23:40):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (01:23:41):
Yeah, there he is pretty good.
Speaker 2 (01:23:42):
Iowa, Minnesota, Floyd of Rosedale.
Speaker 3 (01:23:45):
I'd say it was established twenty fifteen. Oh no, no, no, no, no, no,
nineteen fifteen.
Speaker 2 (01:23:50):
Yeah, nineteen fifteen, Yeah, introduced to nineteen thirty five.
Speaker 3 (01:23:54):
What about thee?
Speaker 2 (01:23:55):
How long the axes? The ax is a little bit
of a cheap code though, because like an axe is
always like who wasn't that original? Uh No, there's a
bunch of them, like Notre Dame plays for a bunch.
There's like a jeweled Shalala and all this other stuff.
Little Brown Jug is Michigan, Minnesota. The gold Hat is
this weekend, Texas and Oklahoma. So there's some really cool
ones out there.
Speaker 7 (01:24:16):
What's us and Kent playing for this week?
Speaker 2 (01:24:19):
Can not suck a whole bunch of nothing? But I
just love the idea of like two places like Iowa
Minnesota saying we got to play for something, and somebody's
saying I got an idea, let's do a pig sold printed,
all right, bronzing, let's go. And then they named it Floyd.
I don't know, it just feels like everything in college football.
The name is pretty Floyd of Rosedale.
Speaker 3 (01:24:40):
Come on, it's unbelievable.
Speaker 5 (01:24:45):
I just received a text from a pretty some significant luminary.
You're on it as well, that said, Yo, it's almost
five pm. Are we paying you overtime now?
Speaker 6 (01:24:54):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:24:54):
I hope so it feels appropriate for what's going on
right now. That's pretty good.
Speaker 2 (01:25:05):

didn't know where that was going. Okay, go ahead, where's
Austin Powers?
Speaker 3 (01:25:46):

Speaker 2 (01:25:46):
Those movies are hysterical. I don't know, and they're not
any there. They're never in a flipping world. No, there
never served to me on any of the apps, and
I've got them all, so I don't even know where
they're streaming. But no, you never those are whole areas. No,
you never never hear those ever. You never see them
in a rotation. They make their like great parodies of
(01:26:08):
the Bond movies. Mike Myers is hysterical. It all holds
up to all holds up. Yeah, no, it's Amy Rodgers, Beyonce. Yeah, goldmember.
Speaker 3 (01:26:18):

I don't understand that one because it feels like it
would work, uh in every way.
Speaker 3 (01:26:41):

and Dumber with all three of them, watch Farris Deelers Day.
They loved all of those. But he would be I
think he'd like Austin Powers. Maybe you love it run
that his way.
