Speaker 6 (01:14):
I probably know there's a lot I need right now,
there's a lot I need. It was a little dude.
It's been a day.
Speaker 3 (01:22):
It's been a day, and it's a get out of
town Thursday for you guys.
Speaker 4 (01:26):
It's get outtown Thursday.
Speaker 5 (01:28):
So same for you. You just have to go south
on seventy one tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (01:31):
That's true, Yeah, that's true.
Speaker 6 (01:32):
Fortunately, we had today start off with a little nothing.
Everything's fine, but a little Luca got a little banged up.
He's fine, a little banged up, a.
Speaker 4 (01:41):
Little a little nail clipping gone awry. Oh but that
always made me so nervous.
Speaker 6 (01:46):
But he's fine now, So he's good. Were you with
the controls or miss miss King? It was doesn't matter,
It doesn't matter at all. It doesn't matter which is,
but it was been a little bit crazy and then
raced in here and we're doing a bunch of recording
things and and they're like, hey, we got this whole
new video series we'd like you to do, and why
take ten episodes of which I just sat in your
(02:06):
chair and did. And uh, now we have other things.
So I may be here, then I may be gone,
maybe back.
Speaker 7 (02:12):
Who knows.
Speaker 5 (02:13):
I don't know hashtag respect the show.
Speaker 6 (02:14):
I don't know what is going to happen, but while
I'm here, you're gonna.
Speaker 4 (02:18):
Get my best.
Speaker 3 (02:21):
It's funny at that age when there is a misshap
they're almost like salamanders, like something will happen and then
it grows back in like six seconds.
Speaker 4 (02:29):
They heel so quickly.
Speaker 6 (02:30):
It's amazing. I wish we could have that. I feel like,
why haven't we like harnessed that.
Speaker 4 (02:34):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (02:35):
They just do though, like any sort of missapp and
they right back at it.
Speaker 6 (02:39):
Yeah, like and I cut this finger off when I
was young and I grew back, So there you go.
Speaker 4 (02:43):
How'd you do it? Spring loaded folding chair, boy, those
were something you feared.
Speaker 6 (02:49):
Then I went up, lopped out of my babysitters, lopped
right across the bottom of the knuckle, which is I've
been rushing.
Speaker 4 (02:55):
I've done some little game for everybody. Yeah, look at
so much shorter. Yeah, it's like weird. The fingerprints like
up under my nail, it's all jacked up, but.
Speaker 3 (03:03):
They're all work and the nails all good and everything's good.
Those spring loaded chairs, those were there was a warning,
no warning sign on those.
Speaker 4 (03:09):
Dude something.
Speaker 6 (03:10):
It was crazy ludicrous got through it alive. I mean
the four said, chopped my finger off. I mean somebody
thought that was a good idea to make that a
chair as a wee lad why I mean, they're like,
you gotta spring it down and then stuck in there.
Speaker 3 (03:22):
But you'd get that sometimes with the if you had
one of those couches that had the bed in it.
Oh yeah, and you'd pull that sucker out and then
it had like it was a terrel sharp on.
Speaker 4 (03:32):
All edges air. Easy. Yeah, it's like easy boys, Easy makes.
Speaker 6 (03:38):
My dad's great parenting moments. They were like seeing me
quick enough after the finger got chopped off, and he's like,
I've got his fingers, some profanity in there, short and
my bucket and then slammed it.
Speaker 4 (03:49):
On the desk in front of them and they're like, oh,
did they sew it back on? No, they said no,
it'll grow back. Too late, it'll grow back. Did you
know I wouldn't. I would not have known that now, No, but.
Speaker 6 (03:59):
I remember I got to go this. Some of the
kids today don't get to do when you have, like
Luca will never get the joy of this. If something
that's sad or you know, happens where all.
Speaker 4 (04:07):
Right, we go to the hospital.
Speaker 5 (04:08):
You're good.
Speaker 4 (04:09):
Now we're gonna go to Toys r Us.
Speaker 6 (04:11):
And now you're gonna be like peeled because you are
by walking into Toys r Us knowing that you kind
of have like carte blanche right now, like I want
that castle and I remember what I wanted. I remember
to this day and I want that castle. Yeah, well,
you lost your finger today.
Speaker 4 (04:27):
You got it? There are wow.
Speaker 5 (04:30):
I like got a hot wheel car, You've got a castle.
Speaker 4 (04:33):
He did lose a finger. I mean I chopped my
finger off from the knuckle. It's pretty significant.
Speaker 5 (04:37):
What did you When did you do that? It's a
big I biffed. I sliced my entire chin open. How
on ice? Because I was dumb in a parking lot. Yeah,
this is I'm a victim. It was like kindergarten, the
chair at a babysitters.
Speaker 3 (04:54):
Bootsy has very little obstacles in his and very fi
few things that haven't gone his way. But one of
the great one of one of the incredible slidings Doors
moments is if he would have been alive when Toys
r Us were all.
Speaker 4 (05:10):
I would have loved to just watch him it just
bounce down the aisles.
Speaker 6 (05:13):
He couldn't even like NBC remembers last ones that really
I think that people kids in high school now are
the last ones that really.
Speaker 5 (05:23):
Yeah at it.
Speaker 3 (05:24):
Yeah, Paid's got paid has a good memory of it.
I remember we would take him. I would take him
and he would just be but the zest that boots
he would have had at Toys r Like he gets
all jacked up about Target. That's three aisles, like, he
has no the whole store, bro, he has no idea,
he has no idea. We took paid into Fao Schwartz,
the one off of Central Park when that was still open. Yeah,
(05:46):
and I don't think it is anymore. I think it's
long been since been closed from yeah, yeah, yeah, that one. Yeah,
we took him in there. That place blew my mind.
So good, All right, we gotta we gotta practice squad.
Speaker 8 (06:00):
Do you other wor?
Speaker 4 (06:00):
A week away from the first NFL game?
Speaker 3 (06:04):
So college football, big slate of college football games tonight,
massive weekend, huge, that they're playing the hits. It occurred
to me last night as I was running back from
NBC's game, that this is Labor Day weekend, and this
is what tends to happen to me and you and
I taught you too. You're in this grind of like
(06:26):
camp and business, business, business, business, and all of a sudden,
it's like it's Labor Day.
Speaker 4 (06:32):
Normally, get a little bit of.
Speaker 3 (06:33):
Respite and that's nice, but then you're right into week
one college football, and then right here next week we're
doing a We got Eagles and Jerah for.
Speaker 6 (06:42):
You know what, people are gonna be wearing costumes Halloween.
Speaker 4 (06:46):
We're gonna give thanks Christmas, Blink.
Speaker 5 (06:49):
Transformative Turkey.
Speaker 4 (06:52):
It's all happening.
Speaker 5 (06:54):
Yep, dogs and cats living together, Massisteria.
Speaker 4 (06:56):
Yeah, that's where we're at. That's where we're at. Yeah,
it happens very very full speed.
Speaker 5 (07:02):
We're going to London in like six weeks.
Speaker 3 (07:04):
What that's crazy? Did you so you did you end
up watching an app?
Speaker 4 (07:10):
Did you watch? Did you further year?
Speaker 5 (07:11):
Yeah? I watched.
Speaker 6 (07:12):
We watched four and then a little into five, and
we're talking about America's team.
Speaker 4 (07:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (07:19):
First of all, like the story of Charles Haley almost
decapitating Jerry Jones with a helmet that then stuck into
the wall, and I like how.
Speaker 4 (07:28):
Jerry phrased that. He's like, let's not do something that
neither one of us.
Speaker 6 (07:31):
Are going to be able to move past. Yeah, or
that both of us won't be able to move past.
It was pretty good. But it's funny. I came out
of that. So it's where they get to the point
that you know, Jimmy and Jerry split, and then Barry
Switzer comes in and then I didn't realize he didn't
get to bring in anybody and his staff. They just
(07:52):
made him the head coach. All these guys are like
talking trash about him behind his back. He's kind of
like a figurehead. He's like punching the guy.
Speaker 4 (07:59):
Get who's in you?
Speaker 6 (08:00):
And him was all mad about it. But the two speeches,
like we're on where Jerry and Jimmy are staying there.
They're holding Lombardi literally on the night of winning the
Super Bowls. Both times they said what was the most
important thing that you did to help you get here?
And Jerry says hiring Jimmy Johnson after the first one,
(08:20):
and then after the second one he goes, this is
all because of Jimmy Johnson again, and Jimmy Johnson still
didn't feel appreciated enough. I mean, they're doing sit down interviews.
Do you respect his football acumen? Right next to each other.
It's like, yeah, as an owner, but like he shouldn't
know as much as a coach.
Speaker 4 (08:39):
He's an owner.
Speaker 6 (08:40):
I just thought it was nuts crazy, And though he
was so worried, was so worried about like Jerry wasn't
giving him. Maybe they're maybe because Jerry had final say
on this, Like we don't.
Speaker 4 (08:48):
See another.
Speaker 6 (08:50):
All the praise, all the praise publicly. Best thing I
ever do is hire Jimmy Johnson. And then they go
and they're at NORV Turner, Dave wan Stat and Jimmy
Johnson are sitting having to drink. Jerry walks by and
cheers boys cheers to this Dallas Cowboys, and Jimmy Johnson
sits there and mean mugs them.
Speaker 4 (09:09):
Yeah, and then after that's it, he's like, I'm firing Scuy.
I don't care and I don't blame him.
Speaker 2 (09:13):
No.
Speaker 6 (09:13):
At that point, to me, that's like that was That's
way regious because that's you're doing it. It's it's not
like it was he walks by and sees Jimmy alone.
You're doing in front of two of the prominent coaches
on the football team.
Speaker 4 (09:25):
Yes.
Speaker 6 (09:26):
Yeah, it's a total And to me it just felt
like a total like blame move by Jimmy. I totally
am on Jerry side. And then at Jerry's I listen,
we had so much talent here at five hundred people
could win it. So then Jimmy's like, I'm done with it,
and then Steven Jones like, you guys are gonna get
in a room, You're gonna do what you need to
do and we're gonna makes all work, and they win
that room and that's it. He's gone, and then he
(09:49):
hires Switzer and while they don't win it the next year,
they still were very good.
Speaker 4 (09:52):
Yeah, and then they went it in ninety five. So
like Kenn was right and Jimmy was unsuccessful.
Speaker 7 (09:59):
No, was not.
Speaker 3 (10:01):
No, there was something in that special sauce. You're gonna
like how that how it all comes together. But I
had a similar I was just like kind of Floris.
Speaker 6 (10:10):
I don't know how Jimmy Johnson or could watch that
and you realize how long it took, and we were like, oh,
he should be putting him in the Ring of Honor.
Like so I didn't know all the back and it
had to be way worse than private. If he was
going to do that publicly, it had to be way
worse in private.
Speaker 4 (10:23):
Yeah. And now.
Speaker 6 (10:27):
They're arguing over who came up with the idea to
trade herschel Walker, like who actually whose idea was that
actually right? And he's like, well, it was the guy
that was here before you were even here that actually
said we have one good play, who maybe should trade
him for some more assets?
Speaker 4 (10:38):
Yeah tech shrim Yeah yeah, yeah, I don't know. I
could believe Jimmyjohnson, Jimmy Johnson could have been there for
a decade.
Speaker 3 (10:45):
Oh my god, and they would have won more, much more. Yeah,
I had because they could have had the continuity the
whole time. Because as you see when the Switzer, when
Switzer comes in, the big change is the change for Akman,
that's the big switch for him.
Speaker 5 (10:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (10:58):
Him and Berry went back to Oklahoma because he got
him to sign at Oklahoma at high school because Troy's
an Oklahoma kid before eventually transferring to UCLA. So there
was bad blood in the water there long before you
ever got to Dallas. It's great, though, it's it's very good.
If you haven't checked it out, please do so and
you won't regret it. We do have the work week
(11:18):
in the books here, kids, Yes, the week work week
is in the books. Our guys are off this weekend.
They're off Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday. It is Bengals Week.
Speaker 4 (11:27):
It is.
Speaker 3 (11:28):
It's really one of my favorite things. I'm guessing everybody
who is in brown and orange that played for Ohio
State will be down on the field on Saturday in Columbus.
I'm guessing our guys who I wonder if our guys
who played at LSU will get to Clemson. Probably not.
He probably wouldn't go to South Carolina. I just found
some guys will go home for that one.
Speaker 4 (11:46):
I want our guys to go there and be like
quinch on.
Speaker 5 (11:50):
Que let's go.
Speaker 4 (11:52):
I wonder if he'll be there. I wonder if he'll
be in Columbus. I would think, why wouldn't you be?
You'd think he would be.
Speaker 3 (11:58):
But we haven't heard any thing from him in a
long time on any front, so I you know, I
don't know, but you would think that.
Speaker 4 (12:04):
That's all.
Speaker 6 (12:05):
I'm just saying my ability to just every one in
my call, Well, those guys just go up there and go, dude,
let's go Zell, let's go Baker.
Speaker 4 (12:14):
How many guys do we have on this roster Whippler, Rocket, Hickman, Rocket, Hickman, Zell,
six or six of them? Baker?
Speaker 5 (12:25):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (12:25):
Is that six?
Speaker 9 (12:26):
Feels like it?
Speaker 4 (12:27):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (12:27):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (12:28):
So yeah, So that's the fun weekend. Uh, we had
six more signed to the practice squad Logan Brown Tackle.
We talked about Malachi Corley yesterday. He comes over from
the Jets. A couple of interior offensive Lineman, Garrett Dilloner
and Cole strange A Duff who one you low fu Ceo.
Speaker 4 (12:49):
This is a tough one. I saw this and I
was like.
Speaker 5 (12:50):
Oh, man.
Speaker 4 (12:53):
Ed Yo Loo foe ce Yo is it you? Y o?
Speaker 6 (13:03):
O is more than yo. Wouldn't just be ya? But
then fanatically you just put you you. Yeah, that's.
Speaker 5 (13:15):
Are you kidding?
Speaker 4 (13:16):
That's pretty good.
Speaker 3 (13:18):
Bailey Zappi into the mix as well. We just talked
about him yesterday Western Kentucky. Yeah, with this out accumulation
and didn't he quarterback coy the but here.
Speaker 4 (13:30):
The quarterback last game of last season in Baltimore.
Speaker 6 (13:35):
But what was his what was the game he quarterbacked
against US New England New England Patriots winning here with
That's right, that's.
Speaker 5 (13:42):
Your annual family trip.
Speaker 4 (13:45):
That's right. That was yeah, Beamsy's birthday. I gotta be
honest with you. These are no scores.
Speaker 6 (13:51):
I have zero scores on this because I've been doing
tending to many a great many other things and they
have a chance to procure any scores.
Speaker 4 (13:58):
On this one.
Speaker 6 (13:59):
I was shocked when I saw that we signed to
Bailey's Happy other practice squad.
Speaker 4 (14:05):
Yeah, I didn't see it. I didn't see it coming.
Speaker 6 (14:09):
No, the only thing that I can possibly think is
that maybe they think he could do scout team Burrow
better and they don't want like they want. Maybe they
have a development plan for shador where and Dylan so
that they're getting certain work that they don't have to
worry about, like non Brown Scout team stuff. That's the
only thing that I could think of, because otherwise it
(14:31):
made me very I was very surprised.
Speaker 3 (14:34):
Well, what you just thought of is the most sense
that I can make of it. Because I was in
the same spot. I didn't understand. But what you just
laid out, there's some sense to be made with that.
Speaker 6 (14:44):
That that if that's it, that's we don't say, actually, no,
that's your numb that's not what it is.
Speaker 5 (14:49):
Good.
Speaker 4 (14:50):
Well, then now I don't get it.
Speaker 3 (14:52):
Entering fourth season out of Western Kentucky, originally selected by
the Patriots in the fourth round, fifteen NFL games, nine starts.
Last season, he started one game for the Browns. He
will wear number eleven. It was the finale. As he mentioned,
nine starts. Maybe just some experience behind Joe four seasons
in the league would know how to prep a quarterback.
Speaker 4 (15:12):
That's the other part of it.
Speaker 6 (15:13):
I thought that maybe he's a guy that, because he's
been in the league, knows how to do the weeks
of the prep.
Speaker 4 (15:19):
That was the other thing. I thought it was either
a scout team thing or it was.
Speaker 6 (15:24):
He understands the job in terms of how to get
Joe Flacco ready, and what if he's breaking down third
own like he's done it.
Speaker 4 (15:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (15:31):
Yeah, and it's so rare that you have two backups
on your roster, both rookies. Yes, So that was the
only other thing I could come The only other conclusion
I could get to is some combination what you just said,
and then I feel.
Speaker 4 (15:43):
Like it's got to be some combo of those two things.
Speaker 5 (15:46):
Yeah, just one of.
Speaker 3 (15:46):
Them just or but either one really heavily weighted and yeah,
and that's got to be it.
Speaker 4 (15:51):
That's got to be what that is. So are we done?
Speaker 1 (15:54):
Then?
Speaker 4 (15:54):
Do we have? Do we have our list? Are we good?
We got full roster, full everything.
Speaker 6 (15:59):
I was wondering those who if we were going to
see any number changes, who would be up for that?
Speaker 5 (16:05):
Well, eight is.
Speaker 6 (16:06):
Now open Coylan war eight, right, because Kenny was an eight.
I think that'd probably be the big one.
Speaker 4 (16:16):
All Right, So here's what's what was d hot seven?
Speaker 5 (16:19):
There you go?
Speaker 4 (16:20):
Seven and eight are both big numbers. Delp a war
seven at LSU.
Speaker 5 (16:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (16:24):
I don't think he'd switch out of nine though, now
so one right now? One is open. Let's m j
oh yeah active roster, I need total roster. I'm on
our site. Yeah, you go down, he'll be there.
Speaker 6 (16:38):
Yeah, right where you're So seven and eight, seven and
eight it's ten o no tens quinch on ten yeah
yeah yeah, seven and eight though prime numbers? Yeah yeah,
And Dylan did wear eight in college. Yeah, so I
don't you know who knows about that? And then seven
is a money number? And what's Dylan in right now?
Speaker 5 (17:00):
Five? Right?
Speaker 6 (17:00):
So he could go off a five Quinn shot could
wear didn't quinch on War five?
Speaker 4 (17:04):
Quinch on War four? Four at Ohio State? Okay or no?
Speaker 3 (17:08):
You were one or one at Ohio State. He wore
four at Ole Miss Ford Ole Miss.
Speaker 4 (17:11):
One plus four or five.
Speaker 3 (17:12):
I'm just saying, yeah, FID Ohio State was Jeremi Smith,
so he wore one.
Speaker 4 (17:18):
That was right last year wore for ad Ole Miss.
Speaker 5 (17:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (17:22):
Yeah, So theoretically he could if he was here, he
could move because wasn't he wanting a single digit, but
there weren't any available, so he took ten.
Speaker 4 (17:30):
But then he's like, I'm on in ten. It was
kind of the thinking there.
Speaker 3 (17:33):
But again he's not currently here, so you can't worry
about any of those things.
Speaker 4 (17:37):
I imagine, though, somebody wants to slide into seven and eight.
Speaker 3 (17:40):
Yeah, I mean I I was just trying kind of
going through to see, you know who, who would want
to get in there that you know, with Dylan Samson
at twenty two, would he want to go to a
single There's nobody else I see in the secondary, and then.
Speaker 4 (18:02):
Dylan Samson wore six. It looks like at Tennessee, uh huh.
Speaker 3 (18:07):
So, I mean he would be a he would be
a single digit guy. I don't know if Kevin would
give that to him. With the all the interests in
the single digits, Isaiah Bond would want one for sure.
Speaker 4 (18:17):
I mean he would for sure want one. He's an
eighty one.
Speaker 6 (18:20):
Eighty one's a pretty solid receiver number, it is, But
all the kids want single digits now, man.
Speaker 4 (18:25):
Eighty one's solid.
Speaker 3 (18:26):
I like eighty one, I like eighty I like eighty eight.
I think all those are cool. Eighty four is pretty cool.
Speaker 4 (18:31):
Well, Dylan's in five, That's what I said. He's in five,
so he could go to eight.
Speaker 6 (18:35):
Right, which we could open five for somebody. But I'm
saying like he's a rookie. Yeah, so he was able
to get.
Speaker 3 (18:40):
It, but typically isn't that just doesn't he normally just
do that with quarterbacks. Probably in the old day when
we first got the ability to use singles, a lot
of our guys went him and like can we switch?
And He's like, no, you cannot switch. So a lot
of them were in those to begin with, but now
that maybe that's loosened up a little bit.
Speaker 6 (18:56):
Qussenger would look sweet and I don't think he's allowed
to though. I don't think linebackers are allowed to be
in single digits.
Speaker 4 (19:01):
Yeah, linebackers can be in single digits. Dns can't be.
Speaker 6 (19:03):
He'd be look pretty sweet and like, yeah, I think
he's like forty nine from I think forty nine for
him fits because of all of the story behind it.
Speaker 4 (19:12):
But yeah, there's usually a race to numbers. Eighty one's
a good number for Isaiah Bond. I agree, eighty one's
a good number.
Speaker 6 (19:19):
Eighty one, eighty four, eighty and eighty eight are all good,
good receiver numbers.
Speaker 3 (19:25):
So he worked seven at Texas. That's what I was thinking,
bonded and it's available.
Speaker 6 (19:30):
I think that's when when you come in under his auspices,
it's like, all right, yeah, we love you to wear it,
but show me some not yet, show me some, show
me something.
Speaker 4 (19:40):
Isaiah bond at Alabama or seventeen.
Speaker 6 (19:43):
Okay, so seventeen at Bama and seven at at Texas.
Speaker 5 (19:47):
That's what that was.
Speaker 3 (19:48):
So yeah, yeah, so that's what you're kind of waiting
for on all of that. And then you get to work,
and so this team will hit the road. This is
the free weekend, and away you go, and this is
a it's a break for the NFL.
Speaker 4 (20:01):
I mean, it's been heavy news today.
Speaker 3 (20:03):
You're gonna get, you know, some roster stuff that's finalized
or starting to get more crystallized. And then you're off
and this is the college football weekend. And college football
is playing a ton of hits this weekend. We're gonna
have two first round picks next year. You're gonna see
guys this weekend. If this is the only weekend you
watch college football all year, it's gonna give you a
hell of a jumping off point. Yeah, because it is
(20:26):
you have you know, even tonight, there's fun stuff tonight.
Several big tens are playing. This is a big week,
like Wisconsin, Rutgers, Minnesota, and Nebraska all open tonight. Nebraska
opens in Kansas City and Cincinnati. So that's all tonight.
There's there's some good games Tomorrow. I think Colorado plays
Georgia Tech. And then this is every window starting at
(20:47):
noon Saturday, Like if you just want to watch one
Marquee game noon, Ohio State, Texas three point thirty, Alabama,
Florida State, eight o'clock, Clemson, LSU. Sunday three o'clock South
Carolina that's Lenora Sellars. They're hosting Virginia Tech. Sunday late
is Notre Dame Miami, and then Monday night is TCU
North Carolina Belichick's debut.
Speaker 6 (21:06):
And then next Thursday you have the NFL season kickoff
Friday in Brazil, Saturday college football, Sunday, NFL Monday, NFL.
Speaker 3 (21:13):
Yeah, it's on We're going, Yeah, it's on days. This
is gonna be there's gonna be a lot of stuff
coming your way. I do like, and I'll tell you
it's gonna change. It's gonna change. College football is going
to start last weekend instead of this weekend, so they're
gonna get two weekends in before the NFL comes on
schedule because they have to make the calendar work. But
(21:35):
I do like the natural progression of Friday Night Lights
having their own first weekend college football starts, and then
the NFL enters the Frey a week later. I like
kind of how that all shakes out. Yeah, I'll miss
it when it goes away. Yeah, it is going to
go away.
Speaker 6 (21:51):
I just worry the one thing I worry about for college.
And obviously you could say, well, it doesn't affect the NFL,
but I think it was one of the things that
was so great about college, and we saw you honestly
go away to a degree, which is that every week matters.
Speaker 3 (22:05):
Well, I'm dealing with that with the game I've got
in less than forty eight hours in Columbus, because the Yeah,
it's like the greatest, like the greatest exhibition game ever played.
I mean it's there's never been an opener in college
football like this one, Number one versus number two, defending
national champions, the two hosting the one, Like you've never
had anything like that in the history of the sports.
(22:26):
That's not hyperbole, that's fact.
Speaker 6 (22:28):
And in a way, the playoff, just the advent of
the playoff beyond four teams I think has taken that away.
Well it has and so like last year's game against
Michigan ultimately turned to be an exhibition game with no consequence.
Speaker 3 (22:41):
It was a catalyst for what came next in the
ohighest state perspective. But you're right, it didn't harm their
chances of winning a Nationals.
Speaker 6 (22:47):
If that happened under the old rules, I imagine OHW
State looks a lot different right now.
Speaker 4 (22:55):
Oh, I don't know if Ryan would have that's yeah,
I don't know, I don't know.
Speaker 6 (22:58):
That's what I mean that is that is one of
the greatest inflection points that in probably Ohio State history,
in the sense that had they had been a fourteen playoff,
their season's over. They lose to Michigan again, it is
total chaos. Day could be out, program could look completely different.
Boosters are mad ass is like, what is the return?
Everybody's going up to those But because it's almost it's
(23:22):
it's almost like it didn't happen because they won the
national championship.
Speaker 4 (23:26):
Yes, you could say that's what ohlit the fire.
Speaker 6 (23:28):
But yeah, the reality is one of the things that
was cool about college football as a casual you know,
college football Nate was it like there were consequences for
losing to somebody you shouldn't lose to. Yeah, and that
might like you want to win the national championship. You
can't have those.
Speaker 3 (23:44):
No, I mean five, Ohio State loses at home to
Texas and they don't get back in the national title hunt.
Speaker 4 (23:51):
That was in September.
Speaker 3 (23:52):
Now, they lost to Penn State that year too, but
that early loss and that was it.
Speaker 4 (23:55):
Same thing.
Speaker 3 (23:56):
Next thing happens the next year in O six when
Ohio State Goodes goes down there and beats Cold McCoy,
defending national champion in Texas, Texas can't.
Speaker 4 (24:02):
Get back in the mix. So it's like it's it
was a one. It was a if you lose it.
Speaker 3 (24:06):
If you lose it, it better be close, and it better
be to a ranked team or it heeled against you
forever in the old BCS, yes, oh yeah, and now,
I mean, honestly, they have the greed has legislated it
out because they need more money.
Speaker 4 (24:19):
They need more money.
Speaker 6 (24:20):
How many the buck guys lost, how many last year
twice lost to Oregon, Oregon and then Michigan. Yeah, and
it used to be like, yeah, you could lose one
and especially early. Yeah, and then if you roll ran
the table you needed help. Yes, it wasn't a guarantee.
That's the only thing that's like a little bit of
a bummer is that you're right. Like this game, super
hyped up Texas Buckeye's biggest college football game of the year,
(24:41):
biggest opener ever, it really doesn't matter what the outcome is.
Speaker 3 (24:45):
No, and both sides, I've touched a lot of folks
down from Austin this week. Both sides believe that they're
going to see the other one again. Uh huh, Like
this is the first of two. It's it feels a
lot like the Oregon game last year, when it felt like, okay,
the loop, we very well could see you guys again,
whether or now you thought it was gonna be in
a Big Ten championship game, but it ended up being
in the national quarterfinal, but you kind of felt like, Okay,
(25:09):
we'll probably see again. What's going to really suck is
when you have a situation where Ohio State and Texas
play or High State Michigan play at the end of
the year, and they both make the playoff, and then
they play again. Because theoretically you could play Ohio State
Michigan three times in a year, you could play at
end of the season conference championship game and in the playoff.
Speaker 4 (25:27):
That's no one wants.
Speaker 5 (25:28):
That's too much.
Speaker 3 (25:29):
It's too much. I don't think they can save that
part of it. I think that's that ship has sailed.
I think we are in the found money stage of
college football and they have to figure out they have
to figure out how to increase their value to television
partners almost relentlessly. I mean, that's where they're at right now.
(25:49):
So you're just going to get more games, a bigger playoff.
It's going to go to sixteen teams like that's where
we're headed. And it does suck. It does suck. From
a talent standpoint, though, what you're going to see this weekend,
if you want, in every window is basically all of
the major prospects in college football playing talent equate games,
which is rare. It's rare that you get that, like
the the defensive talent at Texas matched up against that
(26:13):
receiving cor at Ohio State arch manning against the back
seven of Ohio State, which I think is the best
in the country. That is endlessly fascinating. Garrett Nussmeyer, jeesus, gee.
Speaker 4 (26:25):
Man, ladies, and gentle hi bo.
Speaker 3 (26:32):
And you're making a salient point driving at home and
this guy comes in in a big way.
Speaker 4 (26:38):
Big Do you know you're in the building. God just
slides into give me a seat. Look at him, dude.
G Man was doing stats for the RAMS radio broadcast.
Speaker 5 (26:50):
What a time to be alive. Maybe just maybe you're
gonna be seeing a little bit more.
Speaker 4 (26:58):
Yes, let's let's go. Let's let's go.
Speaker 5 (27:02):
Come on, come on, all.
Speaker 6 (27:04):
Right, because I don't know when I'm going to be
ripped from your I don't know when.
Speaker 4 (27:08):
You have one more segment.
Speaker 5 (27:09):
I think, oh, you're here till I say you're done.
Speaker 4 (27:11):
Well, I don't know that that's true. It's definitely not true.
And this is not you're here for a little while.
Speaker 5 (27:18):
I was told one, and I'm not sending you down
till a minute.
Speaker 7 (27:23):
But is it?
Speaker 4 (27:23):
What's next?
Speaker 8 (27:24):
No?
Speaker 4 (27:24):
Next, We're gonna do some camp awards, okay.
Speaker 6 (27:26):
I Also I want to talk about what maybe some
of the most beautiful uniforms I've ever seen.
Speaker 5 (27:33):
Oh, I didn't put that in. I'm sorry.
Speaker 4 (27:35):
Are you what Niners one? I haven't seen that. Well,
I don't know what you are talking about.
Speaker 5 (27:43):
What are you talking?
Speaker 4 (27:44):
Go ahead do it now.
Speaker 6 (27:45):
I don't know about the Buffalo Bill's cold front uniform.
Speaker 3 (27:49):
I've seen that, but I have also seen what the
Niners are wearing, what the Cardinals are wearing, the Seahawks
are wearing.
Speaker 5 (27:54):
The Yeah, there's seven teams. That are eight teams rivalry teams.
Speaker 4 (27:57):
Who's the other? Who did I miss?
Speaker 6 (27:59):
The Patriots one? Patriots? I think Patriots is it's fun.
Here's the thing, the Niners one.
Speaker 4 (28:04):
I can't. I haven't seen it. Pull that up for me.
Speaker 5 (28:07):
You want to be here here? Why don't Why don't
we do it during the break? Give you a chance
to pull everything?
Speaker 4 (28:11):
I see those?
Speaker 5 (28:12):
Why don't we?
Speaker 4 (28:13):
I have a problem with it, and I'm gonna tell
you what it is right after this. In addition to that,
we'll hand out some training camp awards.
Speaker 6 (28:20):
Those are your hot topics that they presented by University Hospital.

Each week, fans vote for the Game of the Week

plus spotlight coverage on the brown social channels.
Speaker 4 (29:09):
So there you go. All right, you've had a chance
to look at everything. Well, no, because I'm just mesmerized
by this. You pull up the not good. I'm gonna
stay with the good. But here's my problem with it. Yeah,
here's my problem with it. Right, go ahead, right, So
you've seen these JM. Can we throw we can we
throw a photo of us up?
Speaker 2 (29:28):
There?
Speaker 4 (29:28):
Is that possible? Is that in our skill set?
Speaker 5 (29:30):
The fort.
Speaker 6 (29:32):
Oh god, horrible? The Niners are terrible. The Niners one's terrible.
I don't even need to see that again. That's blast.
Speaker 4 (29:38):
It's almost it's borderline blasphemous.
Speaker 6 (29:41):
It's just awful. It's awful to not have a gold
hat on. I just they could have.
Speaker 2 (29:47):
They could that.
Speaker 6 (29:47):
Actually, with a gold hat would look pretty good. It
would look like a safe but good. Yeah, that's that
doesn't make me happy. So the Bills one, though, is beautiful.
Speaker 4 (29:56):
It is I would I agree with you.
Speaker 3 (29:58):
I think they've I think they crushed all right, I'm
trying to So they're gonna play New England. There they
they play New England. So the matchup, and this is
Nike is basically doing to the NFL what they do
in the NBA with the city connect So they're calling
these rivalry uniforms, which is fine, which fine, go nuts.
Speaker 4 (30:17):
Whatever you gonna do.
Speaker 6 (30:18):
So this so here's my problem, right, Okay, the jersey's fine,
and I like the font.
Speaker 4 (30:25):
The jersey's fine. It just has to have a gold.
Speaker 6 (30:26):
Hat or they end up in some type of like
a Cardinals where it's like a black matted black with
just a red logo outlined on black, like that would
be fine too, but this is that's jersey fine, Actually,
jersey probably good. I bet the gear associated with this
probably great. I like the font, yeah, yeah, because it's
very classic. The rest not great. But this Bill's one
(30:47):
if you put that up there, that is, and if not,
it's absolutely stunning. It's their iced out one. It's white,
it's a silver number with a blue outline. Yep, okay,
now here's the thing. And clearly they're just like allowing
for these uniforms you to go outside the colors that
are colors, which is very rare for that does not happen.
(31:10):
So back in the year, I think it was either
twenty thirteen or twenty fourteen, these were the AFC Pro
Bowl unit.
Speaker 4 (31:16):
I remember those. Those were clean.
Speaker 6 (31:17):
Yeah, okay, So I wanted to do when I was
back being duped about what our uniforms look like. I
wanted to do a home uniform that was like this,
that was white pants, orange stripe. You had a white
jersey with kind of silver numbers that yeah, popped like
those with an orange outline to them, exact basically off
(31:38):
of those Pro Bowl uniforms. And I was told, you
can't have any silver or gray if that's not a
part of your logo colors whatever, And look at it.
I mean, those are just they're beautiful, spectacular, But so
they're letting them. So if the browns, if I'm guessing
they're gonna do two divisions a year. Yeah, you know
(32:01):
we're going to have an opportunity to do something like that.
I hope we delve into this. Yeah, I would want
to do our version of that, which would be because
they basically stolen my idea.
Speaker 4 (32:10):
Here are you welcome?
Speaker 6 (32:11):
Yeah, yeah it is. I mean it's but i'd like
to do that our version of that.
Speaker 4 (32:17):
Yeah, that's cool. So good the all right, So that's
Miami and the Jets. Give me a little more turn
on there.
Speaker 3 (32:26):
Oh sorry, buddy, not much you can do with the Jets.
They basically added a black stripe on the shoulder. It's
kind of an Army green versus a Kelly green.
Speaker 4 (32:35):
What helmet are the Dolphins wearing black?
Speaker 5 (32:39):
Black helmet?
Speaker 4 (32:40):
I think with those teams that don't have any traditional.
Speaker 3 (32:44):
I mean, the Rams really botched it. I don't even
understand what they were going for here.
Speaker 4 (32:47):
How do you know what color that is? And I
also don't know how those two are going to play.
Speaker 6 (32:51):
No, the Niners one, the jersey by itself is fine,
oddly says faithful on the chest for thee.
Speaker 4 (32:58):
That's their thing, that's their fans for Faithful.
Speaker 3 (33:01):
There's the last one. So Arizona has like a dust
like a sand It's like a sand color.
Speaker 6 (33:07):
Kind of like blasted with some red some red rock.
And their their helmet is a crem.
Speaker 4 (33:13):
I don't even know what team that other one is.
Speaker 3 (33:15):
It's Seattle Terrible, Yeah, that is Seattle is the other one.
Speaker 4 (33:19):
So these are all bad with the accession of the Bills.
Speaker 3 (33:22):
I think so, I think they largely are. I think
I think Arizona maybe was onto something a little bit.
Yeah with theirs, if they could have, you know, if
they could have what's Arizona?
Speaker 5 (33:32):
See that?
Speaker 4 (33:33):
I like that on the on the Arizona so.
Speaker 6 (33:35):
That Yeah, the Rams are just they just oddly. It's
a dark navy. It's dark darkly. Then they have a
royal blue cap on the sleeve, which I don't know
I understand, but that actually looks better with the whole package.
Speaker 4 (33:48):
Arizona. Yeah, it's like a sandstorm dusted.
Speaker 5 (33:50):
But they don't.
Speaker 4 (33:51):
Do you have any with their helmet? Yeah, each one
of their home sites have it. The truth is all
of our throwbacks stuff.
Speaker 3 (34:00):
Yeah, the Jets are weren't they went black on everything
like the Jets are helmet is black.
Speaker 4 (34:05):
The Bills have it right, The Bills, the Bills.
Speaker 3 (34:07):
Is that's it's clearly the best one. I don't hate
the Patriots, No, I.
Speaker 4 (34:11):
Don't mean it.
Speaker 6 (34:12):
I don't hate it, but that's thet Yeah, that's definitely
the best one.
Speaker 4 (34:19):
Yeah, I guess is a one off. Yeah, there you go.
Speaker 6 (34:21):
It.
Speaker 4 (34:22):
Actually it's not bad.
Speaker 6 (34:23):
Oh no, that's pretty good. Yeah, that's pretty good. And
the Arizona logo on the sleeve, that's pretty good.
Speaker 4 (34:29):
Yeah. I didn't mind that. I didn't mind that as
a uh all right, that's that might be my favorite
in the NFC ones. Yeah, if the Niner works for
who they are.
Speaker 6 (34:38):
If the Niners had a gold helmet that incorporated black
into the logo, that would have been cool.
Speaker 4 (34:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (34:45):
Yeah. The truth is, like, I don't know if you
need to do it in the NFL. It seems a
little cology to me. You gotta sell March.
Speaker 4 (34:53):
I guess it's just a one game, one off. Yeah,
that's fine.
Speaker 3 (34:58):
We have a lot of DIFFERENTI forms though, Like when
you think about it, like a Lombos. Yeah, there's a
lot of combos now in the NFL, like this is
and Nike does this one thing that I.
Speaker 6 (35:07):
Hope that because they're not selling like pants, so you
have like the jerseys that you have, and that's what
they're selling.
Speaker 4 (35:12):
And I think that's the thing.
Speaker 3 (35:13):
That's the thing that I hope doesn't happen, is what's
happened in the NBA. How you can't tell who's home
or who's away. Like I don't like all that mismatching,
like light at home or dark at away, whatever it's
going to be. But like I don't like this notion
of where anything anywhere type thing.
Speaker 6 (35:28):
I always thought that was one of the odd things
that for the longest time, NFL was light.
Speaker 4 (35:32):
It was color at home, white on the.
Speaker 6 (35:36):
Road except for the Cowboys, and the NBA was always
white at home, color on the road.
Speaker 4 (35:42):
Now it's yeah, you never know what's.
Speaker 3 (35:44):
What NBA always used to be exactly. NHL flipped. So
the NHL used to be white at home, color on
the road, and then like fifteen years ago, Batman switched it.
So now they wear color color at home and they
wear the white sweat road. The one thing that's kind
of cool if you wear white at home, though, is
you get just all the other colors of the league
come through, come through.
Speaker 4 (36:04):
Yeah, I like that just kind of cool. I just
think it should just be standard.
Speaker 2 (36:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (36:07):
I don't think it's like whatever you are, like, you know,
the Cowboys wear white at home. That's their tradition for
the longest time. In the eighties, we wore white at home.
Speaker 5 (36:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (36:14):
I mean a lot of the Bernie stuff is in
He's white over white, which is my favorite uniform we have.
Speaker 4 (36:20):
But the NFL just home team gets to pick, yeah,
which is fine.
Speaker 6 (36:24):
There's some strategy in that because you could say early
in the season, when it's hot, we want to be
white at home and have them you know, be in.
Speaker 4 (36:31):
Their you know, dark colors. Yeah, yeah, yeah, all right.
You want to hand out some training camp awards, I do. Here.
Speaker 3 (36:39):
We are twenty twenty five Training Camp Awards, as decided
by Duc di Z. Best Rookie, This isn't this is inspirational.
Speaker 4 (36:50):
This music in the background, nice chapka.
Speaker 6 (36:54):
There are a lot of them, but I'm gonna go
with Carson Swessinger harld Fan in honorable mention.
Speaker 4 (37:03):
I think that's the right one.
Speaker 3 (37:06):
Most improved player from last year to this year, Jamari Thrash.
Speaker 5 (37:16):
Jamary this is good.
Speaker 4 (37:21):
It's a good segment, very good. Best position room on
this football team.
Speaker 3 (37:26):
That's not the defensive line.
Speaker 4 (37:32):
Yeah, these are straight question. I've already done this game.
I haven't done this game. No, you have done this game,
but I've done this game.
Speaker 5 (37:43):
Yeah, you might hear this game light around tonight.
Speaker 4 (37:46):
I know you will.
Speaker 6 (37:47):
As a matter of fact, I'm gonna say the offensive
line honorable mention, the tight end room.
Speaker 4 (38:02):
The biggest question you have going into the Bengals game,
this one I didn't do.
Speaker 5 (38:15):
Ah, there we go see little curveball?
Speaker 4 (38:18):
Will twitch on Judkins sign? Please?
Speaker 5 (38:23):
No winch on sign?
Speaker 2 (38:26):
Uh?
Speaker 6 (38:30):
That's really the biggest question. And then the other one
would be who is who's the nickel?
Speaker 4 (38:34):
Who's the nickel corner?
Speaker 5 (38:35):
I think I got a runner up for you. How
much can Isaiah Bond impact this offense so quickly?
Speaker 8 (38:42):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (38:42):
Deal, I think yeah he's yeah.
Speaker 3 (38:45):
But like you need him well you do, and you
need yeah, you need well. The combination of him and
Flacco make gives you a wrinkle that you didn't anticipate having,
so so I think that's part of the two. Finally,
your training camp most valuable player not Miles Joe Flacco.
(39:15):
That's the one I choose, Ben Richards, Yeah.
Speaker 4 (39:20):
It's Flacco.
Speaker 5 (39:21):
Would you like to know your five captains for the
twenty twenty five Can I guess season you may?
Speaker 6 (39:27):
Joe Flacco yes, Joel Botonio yes, Miles Garrett yes, Denzel
Ward yes, Corey Bjorkiz Yes.
Speaker 5 (39:38):
What a job I would I was gonna say. G
Man's like he knew.
Speaker 4 (39:43):
I didn't think he knew. I think he just did it.
Speaker 5 (39:46):
That's right.
Speaker 4 (39:47):
G Man's got headphones on.
Speaker 5 (39:48):
He just said he didn't miss it.
Speaker 4 (39:50):
Back for an hour and he's back weighing in on everything. Man,
g Man, come on and red buttered bro.
Speaker 5 (40:00):
In the kitchen.
Speaker 3 (40:01):
It's it's funny, like it's you think about those names
and the veteran nature of like Joe Flacco and Joel
Buttonio captaining the offense.
Speaker 6 (40:10):
Like that's why it's so unique, that it's such a
such a unique yeah, unique sarray.
Speaker 4 (40:14):
It's just a wild roster.
Speaker 6 (40:15):
Yeah, the twelve rookies. I think it's if you add
in first and second your players. I think it's nineteen
rookies or second guys going into their sect who have
one season of experience.
Speaker 4 (40:27):
Like that's wild. That's a wild Yeah, that's wild. It
really is. Uh, there's all of them, there's all of
them right there.
Speaker 5 (40:36):
Kind of together.
Speaker 6 (40:40):
Buffalo is still my favorite. Patriots not bad. I think
Patriots is okay. I think Niners should have had no
If the Niners had no stripe on the helmet, I'd
be a little and the face mask had to be black, Yeah,
I would be more into it. Dolphins actually looks really good.
A guy should have went something other than black. You've
(41:00):
worn the blackout.
Speaker 4 (41:01):
You know they have the blackout. They have it already. Yeah. Yeah,
Arizona is pretty cool.
Speaker 6 (41:08):
I think I think one, yep, Buffalo, I think two.
Arizona's two for me, and then I would go Patriots three.
I like the way that Dolphins one looks. From what
I can see, the black and teal together is nice.
Speaker 4 (41:20):
It's a bit of a cheat code with that.
Speaker 3 (41:21):
And because you get kind of the Miami Knights Miami
heat kind of thing is what you get with it,
then I would think Niners. I don't understand the rams
with the blue on the sleeves. I don't get that
at all. The Seahawks one, I don't make it doesn't
make any sense. I actuallyink the Jets did okay with
what they j.
Speaker 4 (41:35):
But then we've seen them have a black uniform.
Speaker 3 (41:38):
For Yeah, yeah, we have. So those are those are
the things that you got to do in those matters.
All right, I think you have to go do some things.
We're gonna head to the podium. Coming up next, Brown's

Speaker 7 (42:49):
So we feel like we're in a pretty good spot.
I mean, go all the way back to to before
the draft, and we kind of set some goals in
terms of, you know, what we want to do with
our asset base and then also our talent base, and
from our first pick and Mason up up until now.
With the two trades and the two claims we made,
(43:10):
we feel like we put ourselves in a good spot
to start the season. The young guys have done a
great job, you know. Coaches talked about the development and
kind of accounting for every minute of their day, and
I think you see just the work they put in
across the board on both sides and even today Carson's
making plays on the ball, Harold just dealing making throws.
So just they will continue to grow and develop. But
(43:31):
we feel really good about where they are and just
excited to keep you know, adding to the team and
assessing where we are as a roster.
Speaker 5 (43:38):
Can you invest any take what's whatever into where things stand?
Speaker 7 (43:42):
I can't. I'll let Andrew address that, you know, like
he'll update you when when the time is right. Mary kay,
But there's no update, okay.
Speaker 5 (43:49):
Just problem the instrum either the secretary when I had
the signe rocket today just dances.
Speaker 4 (43:55):
To be set when it's not.
Speaker 7 (43:57):
I think what it more speaks to is just you know,
like in August, you maybe you may feel like you're
deep at a certain spot. Then you get to January
and you know there's there's a scarcity available available. So
I think looking at us taking a step back, assessing
what's available at the marketplace, set the cut downs. You
got to go get a player like this who you
know you look up in October you might not have
a chance to get. We're just excited to get the talent,
(44:20):
give him to the coaching staff and let them deploy
him the best way they see fit.
Speaker 5 (44:24):
You're talking about the pick and trains and how that
kind of evolves.
Speaker 7 (44:27):
Yeah, I mean, you know, I think you guys know
how we are just in terms of being being active
in in in that transaction when it comes to trades,
and so there's just a lot of conversation Andrew, you know,
we'll at some point loop us in and get our
thoughts on it, and we just work as a group
to collab on Hey, is this the best decision for us?
(44:48):
You know, what level of pick or asset do we
want to return, and it's just something we worked through,
you know. So at times it happens over twenty four hours.
Sometimes it takes a few weeks. It was one of
those things where we worked through it and felt about
the group and felt good about the room and thought
it was the best best sitism for they.
Speaker 5 (45:05):
To think the Raiders bought the Raiders pros h.
Speaker 7 (45:07):
I think it was just like a a fluid conversation
across the board, you know, and it's just obviously they
had an injury and it you know, it made sense
for both sides to have some conversation and consummated trade.
You may have ten to thirteen pokies on this trust
or both.
Speaker 5 (45:22):
The time since then again, how much your a priority
was there to free populating the team with.
Speaker 4 (45:27):
The young players that we weren't able.
Speaker 5 (45:29):
To do less.
Speaker 7 (45:30):
Yeah, I think it was more about like Kevin talk
thought about, like the competitiveness, Like raising a level of
competitiveness is if you're gonna talk about being a team
that competes, you know, it's it's opening up the roster
spots to whoever earns it. And I think that's more
of a sign of those young guys coming in no
matter where they came from, how they were required and
sort of earning it every day. And so I think
(45:50):
it just so happens that it's a lot of young players.
I wouldn't say we intentionally said if you're younger, you
know you are a priority. But we also were open
to hey, uh, you know, if if you're eight and
hunting to and you show us that you deserve to
be on the roster, you know you're going to be
on the roster. So I think it speaks more to
that than some specific like intentionality around age is concern
(46:10):
over things today. No, no, like you know, like Kevin says,
you get all our guys are developing, you know, from
top to bottom. And I know this is a weird
analogy maybe, but Miles is working on something. He's trying
to develop his craft, you know, like I said, Aiden,
he's trying to develop his craft. So we'll never stop developing.
You can always have guys that need to work on something,
and the youth is something we'll work through. We're willing
to allow the players to grow into their role on
(46:32):
the team. And understand, you may take some months, right
like you may take some months here or there, but
we try to balance thinking short term and long term,
and that goes into all the decisions.
Speaker 5 (46:42):
You'd like to have a better quarterback.
Speaker 7 (46:43):
After practice, squad, we'll see, you know, we'll work through.
You know, this is the fifty three today in the
sixteen in terms of our pactice squad, Kevin and a
b I'm sure we'll discuss where we sit holistically as
a roster, and we're always going to be tweaking and
working through what's the best fit for us. Get bia
Von when you're watching him in the game and how you're, yeah,
(47:03):
he's he's coming to work every day like you obviously,
you know, we have a lot of assessment and evaluations
on him coming out and we understand that he can
run and make plays and so he's he's really shown
kind of who he is and we'll let Kevin figure
out how to use him and how much to use
him and went to But you know, he's kind of
done what we've acted so far in terms of integrating
to the team and just the overall organization with the.
Speaker 5 (47:24):
Backup quarterback being a play away.
Speaker 10 (47:26):
And you've been here a few years, so you know
how that Ferris.
Speaker 2 (47:30):
Fills tend.
Speaker 11 (47:32):
Why are you guys so confident could Tilly Gabriel's rain
to step on the field.
Speaker 7 (47:36):
Yeah, I think, like Kevin said, I think it's it's
you know, you look at the work he's put in
every day. You take the foundation of his college career
and his experience and all the things that he did
in college as well, like you know, it's a it's
a running eval it's a running resume, And so I
think he just he just put a lot of trust.
He gained a lot of trust from the coaching staff
(47:57):
just in terms of how he worked, and we feel
good about it. So look there, every player is a
player away, and I know Dylan's going to prepare and
put himself in position and if he needs to be ready,
he'll be ready.
Speaker 9 (48:09):
The formation of the practice squad kind of factor into,
you know, kind of hand in hand with what you
guys do with the with the fifty three.
Speaker 12 (48:17):
Specifically, like how you know you use it as sort
of you know, you can kind of pull from it,
you know, with the way that the players you have
on it.
Speaker 7 (48:28):
Yeah, I think, like you know, we have a pretty
good grasp of like how the rules have evolved and
the different things you can do with it, and so
it gives you some flexibility, and injury is big about
maintaining optionality across the roster. So you know, if you
can have a player on practice squad who in the
past you could not have had because of very crude seasons,
it does give you an opportunity to you know, develop
(48:50):
some depth or pull up a player who can contribute
in a way that doesn't harm the fifty three. So
it gives you flexibility at the end of the day,
and so we try to take advantage of it as
much as we can.
Speaker 10 (49:02):
Kevin mentioned you guys having like your evaluations all all
of these guys, like especially the two guys.
Speaker 11 (49:07):
You signed today from the pre draft process.
Speaker 5 (49:11):
But when so many players kind of enter.
Speaker 4 (49:12):
This pool and once from yesterday.
Speaker 11 (49:14):
To today, how do you guys kind of go about
like sorting through that is it almost like a pigbo
word where you have like certain guys that you remember
the wing you were looking.
Speaker 7 (49:21):
At them, or how do you just kind of yeah,
I know, Adam are dark player personnel is probably looking
to go home and kind of take a step back
and breathe. Really, it's like from the start of camp,
you know, like it's a filtering process. It is pretty
similar to the draft, where you continue to work to
that number and real pool of players who will be available,
and you try to find an intersection of they're available,
(49:42):
we like them, we can get them, and so it
is very similar and you know, you work through, Okay,
how's this team depth chart, how they're looking, what's the
health of their roster, how have they behaved in the
past in terms of you know, maybe going heavy at
a certain position, going light at a certain position, and
you just all those things together and try to we're
all trying to predict, Hey, this guy's gonna get cut,
(50:03):
he's gonna make it, and you know, make some you know,
some fair forecast on the pool, and then we dive
into just evaluating them. You know, so we take all
our different parts of the evaluation, the film, all the
other data that we have and pull in as a
team to Kevin's point in terms of medical history, combine
pro days, you know, all that is baked into it,
(50:24):
which is why it's so important for us on the
front end to get it. And you know, we go
after the guys we hope we can get ahead. What
do you like specifically about Haiden, Honey, I mean it's him, right,
Like I think he he embodies what we talk about
when we talk about toughness, competitiveness. Our scouts from back
(50:48):
in January, we're excited about him. It's one of those
things where he played in a defense where he played
on the edge. We talk about wanting to get off
the ball, launch and be aggressive play in the backfield,
and you know, our scouts were really pushing like, hey,
we think he can do it. We never know, right,
And then you go through the combine process. He tests
on his protae, blows it out of the water, and
you just continue to get these data points that man,
(51:10):
this kid may have something in his body. But again
we don't know. He shows up, you know, we don't
get him pads until August, and every day he just
put it on the field, right, Like you have to.
You got to take guye in the sky at some
point and trust what you see and the guy and
it's it's been I'm you're happy for him, right because
you know, there's a lot of disappointment in not getting drafted,
(51:31):
but for him to still be able to earn a
spot and do it and then fashion that he did,
I think it was it was awesome.
Speaker 11 (51:36):
Glen just to go back to, I say for the
front office perspective, because I know Kevin's talked about a
little bit about going into the decision and what made
you guys comfortable with bringing him in. But just from
your perspective, what can you explain the reasoning of that
given you know his case and the other players on
this roster who have had similar work.
Speaker 7 (51:54):
Yeah, I'll just reiterate, like for every case you know,
and Andrew has said it, We're going to do our work.
We're gonna take everything we know about the player, everything
we know about each situation, and make the best decision
for the org right And so I don't think it's
any different in his case. We expect him to come
in and, like I said, integrate himself into the team
and organization, be the best version of himself, And so
(52:15):
far he has done that.
Speaker 10 (52:16):
What about the age, he was obviously impressive this summer
with Pink's next.
Speaker 7 (52:20):
For him in term, I don't know, you know, like
a lot of it comes down to how much opportunity.
You know, He's one of those those those dudes where
he wants to challenge, Like he transfers from miome Ohio
to go to South Carolina because he wants to compete
and prove that he can play on the you know,
the big stage. You know, he gets there, has a
few injuries, and maybe his college season doesn't go the
(52:41):
way he wants it, But you saw that mindset out
here every day. He didn't say many things, but in
terms of in between the White Lions like the young
man's competitive and so I think he will earn, you know,
the reps that he deserves, and Kevin and the coaching
staff will deploy him the best way we can and
the best way they see fit. But again, he's just
another example of when you get a chance. And Kevin
(53:04):
said about staying ready, you know, he was one of
those guys who was just ready to take hold of
all the opportunities he got.
Speaker 13 (53:10):
Well, obviously Kenny's one thing en stop getting out, But
I have quarterbacks on this project.
Speaker 2 (53:16):
Could get feel any phone call.
Speaker 7 (53:19):
Or people Michael say the last part, Did you.
Speaker 13 (53:22):
Get any phone calls on Kenny or Feeling or door?
Speaker 7 (53:26):
Nah, I wouldn't get into like we specific got phone
calls on them, Like we we took a number of
calls just on trades period, but specifically to the keys
you'd be surprised.
Speaker 11 (53:36):
But it seemed like watching the D line throughout training camp,
like there's so much depth, so many guys that can
create pressure. Just how how happy are you guys with
where that unit stands right now, especially when you have
guys like Alex and Isaiah where it's taken a couple
of years.
Speaker 7 (53:53):
Yeah, I mean it's it's a position that takes at
some point at sometimes takes a little time to develop,
and so you want as much adapt as you can have.
We'll never we'll never apologize for having as many big
guys on both sides of the ball as we can.
So yeah, like today, we feel good about it. Like
I said, you know, August October can look different, So
(54:14):
we tried to load up and have as many guys
that can contribute, be versatile, play different roles up front
on both sides. And so yeah, we feel good and
are excited about that group. Appreciate y'all.
Speaker 4 (54:26):
All right, there you go?
Speaker 3 (54:27):

Speaker 5 (55:38):
All right, guys, thank you very much. Here with Luke
Whippler brown center and number one. It's great to see
you back on the field here. I can't imagine what
the past year has been like, going down in the
preseason and then out for the season. What did you
learn from sitting out? Yeah?
Speaker 13 (55:55):
I think you know, anybody that's been through us signifiant injury,
you know, you always think, you know you have mental
toughness and certain things figured out in life, and those
things kind of bring your knees a little bit and
teach you a lot about yourself and how to overcome things.
Speaker 5 (56:06):
You know.
Speaker 13 (56:07):
I always like to use the saying things are never
as good, never as bad, but in those moments kind
of hard to see that and having to push through
that has definitely shown me another side of myself and
a side of resiliency that I didn't know I have.
Speaker 5 (56:18):
I know in the off season you were here every day.
I don't know there were many days, even when the
team had an off day, that you weren't in the
building doing something or working out.
Speaker 2 (56:28):
Yeah, you know, I love it here. I love being
in Cleveland.
Speaker 13 (56:31):
It's very nice to you know, not to sit in
traffic I do back home, So I try to be
here as much as possible. In the off season especially,
So yeah, no, I think for most part of the
last season, I was here every day in meetings, even
though you know it was a tough season. You know,
being around, being around the guys definitely made it a
lot easier. Just the camaraderiees the thing you think you
missed the most in those situations when you're on IR
(56:52):
and you know you're not playing every day, you're not
in the field with the guys. Just being in the
meeting room, you know, getting the little like jokes and
all that stuff.
Speaker 5 (56:58):
You know, it's always fun.
Speaker 13 (56:59):
So I mean I was here and then the off
season just stayed around trying to get the best shape
I can prepare for the year, and you know, I'm
happy to be healthy and back out here this season.
Speaker 5 (57:07):
Here with center Luke Whipler. Was there a moment during
preseason or in training camp where maybe the ankle ankle
got a test and you were like, uh, okay, I'm good,
did you have a Was there a scary moment and
then that allowed you to push through a move on?
Speaker 13 (57:22):
Yeah, I feel like, you know, especially going into OTAs
and everything, you know, you're kind of unsure, you know,
just going through you know, the rehab process. You pushed
it as hard as you can, but it's very hard
to simulate football, especially for an offensive linement.
Speaker 2 (57:33):
The universities and go run routes, quarterbacks and go throw
the ball.
Speaker 13 (57:36):
It's all pretty relative, but for an offensive line and
we have another three hundred pound man pushing against you,
it's kind of hard to simulate that if you're not
on the field doing it in an organized setting. So,
you know, coming out to OTA's there's definitely some moments
that you know, uh, stepping back on it.
Speaker 2 (57:49):
You know, you're kind of like, Okay, is it gonna
hold or is it going to be?
Speaker 13 (57:52):
You know what it always was, And I'm happy to
say it came back just the way I thought it would.
And like a big shout out to US Athletic Training
and everyone that helped me in the rehab process.
Speaker 5 (58:02):
All right, new offensive line coach. Yeah, Mike Bloomgren running
the show for you guys, long track record history at
the college level and at the pro level. What's he
meant to your room here so far?
Speaker 2 (58:13):
Oh, he's been great.
Speaker 13 (58:14):
Having coached Bloomberg with us every day and his tutelage
and experience haven't been in all the places he's been
and you, like you said, his long list of resume
and success that he's had at the college level and
in the pro level early in his career.
Speaker 2 (58:26):
It's been great to have him.
Speaker 13 (58:27):
He's been able to teach us a lot of things
out of a toolbox a ton, and I'm just thankful
because he understands the center position, having been around guys
like big Man Gold and certain you know Hall soon
to be Hall of famers. It's been awesome to have
him in our room.
Speaker 5 (58:40):
What's the biggest thing you worked on as you rehabbed
last year to come back? What was your biggest goal
going into this season? What did you want to work on?
What did you see when you studied your film that
you needed to improve on.
Speaker 13 (58:53):
Yeah, I mean there's a lot of things, you know,
I'm having missed all last year and being able to
kind of dive back into, you know, what I was
able to do my rookie year. Just being able to
be a competent player at Garden Center is one big
thing that I wanted to make sure I had was
you know, in this league, versatilities everything, so being able
to play more than one position was something I really
wanted to do and feel uncomfortable at Garden Center was
one thing.
Speaker 2 (59:12):
I want to come to this training camp and proved
myself that I can do both.
Speaker 5 (59:15):
What's the biggest difference between playing garden center.
Speaker 2 (59:18):
For a while? When I only played center, I thought
it was nothing.
Speaker 13 (59:20):
You know, what's a couple of inchest to your writers,
your left It can't be that big of a deal.
And then my rookie year getting thrown into the fire
and having to learn it on the fly. There's a
lot of things that you know, change when you move
those seven inches eight inches over. So it was just
a playing in space, you know, being you know, not
built like Joe or Wyatt and having been around those guys,
haven't seen the way they do things, trying to emulate
(59:43):
them the best I can, because you know, there are
some of the best in this league has to offer.
So having their leadership and even Ethan Poe, having those
guys to look up to having to teach me, I mean,
I got very, very lucky.
Speaker 5 (59:53):
I was going to say, in addition to the coaching staff,
a lot of veteran leadership in that offensive line room.
What was the best piece of advice maybe you got
as you got through this rehab process.
Speaker 13 (01:00:03):
The probably the best piece of advice I got was,
you know, like some days they're going to be better
than others. And uh, you know, whenever you think you're
at the top of the mountain and you think, oh,
and maybe I'm finally there, there's always another little peak
or valley that you got to get through. And that
was one thing that I was told. And you know,
it wasn't trying to do it all in one day too.
It's like you weren't going to be one hundred percent
tomorrow as much as you tried to be if you just
(01:00:25):
had an attack every day and try to get one
percent better.
Speaker 5 (01:00:28):
Here with Luke Whippler Center for your Cleveland Browns, you
did play at the Ohio State University. Kind of a
big game coming up on Saturday. Has there been a
lot of trash talk here in this football team. There's
a lot of Buck guys already entrenched here.
Speaker 4 (01:00:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:00:42):
So I mean, are you going down to the game
or anything you give a place to watch here?
Speaker 2 (01:00:49):
Yeah? I think Actually Saturday, I've made plans.
Speaker 13 (01:00:51):
I'm gonna go cheer on the New Jersey team coming
to town to play Saint Edwards. This weekend Saturdays, I'll
be there, probably watching on my phone. I think the
games are at the same time, So yeah, I'm rooting
for the Buck guys.
Speaker 2 (01:01:03):
Horns down as always.
Speaker 5 (01:01:04):
Amen to that. All right, going back to playing center here,
you had four quarterbacks. You have five quarterbacks at one
point here. Is there a big difference when you're the
center and dealing with all those guys or is it
just the same thing snap, protect and stick your protection plan.
Speaker 2 (01:01:21):
Yeah, I think that's really how it goes.
Speaker 13 (01:01:22):
I mean, no matter who's back to you've got to
protect them and you got to get them the ball
to start to play. And once you cover those two things,
it makes life a lot easier. So no matter who
was back through those, my first two priors is make
sure I get them the ball and make sure my
guy doesn't touch them. So, no matter who's back there,
those are the kind of the two checkpoints I want
to make sure I got done every play.
Speaker 5 (01:01:39):
As you get ready for the season, you get Labor
Day weekend off. Obviously you said you're gonna watch a
little high school football, watch a little Buck guys as well.
Did you do anything fun this offseason? In addition to
where I know you were here every day. Yeah, but
like there were there were some times where the building
was locked and none of us were allowed back in.
Speaker 2 (01:01:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:01:58):
Did you do anything fun? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:01:59):
I mean I played a lot of golf.
Speaker 13 (01:02:00):
I think that was a big kind of time crunch
of my off season was playing golf. I me and
my brother made it out to Pebble Beach this year,
very excited. That was a beautiful course to play track
and that was kind of a bucket list for me.
Speaker 2 (01:02:14):
So I got to check that off, which was a lot.
Speaker 5 (01:02:16):
Of funny, not a whole lot.
Speaker 13 (01:02:19):
It was early in the year, so it didn't really
have much on grass, you know, hitting the ball above
or below my feet.
Speaker 2 (01:02:25):
But we lost a lot of balls and had a
really good time. And it's all really.
Speaker 5 (01:02:29):
And of course like that, you're gonna lose a ton
of golf balls. You got to deal with it and
understand that you're playing one of the best courses maybe
in the world. So beautiful. All right, how's the chess game?
Speaker 13 (01:02:39):
Chess games getting better? It was pretty funny. I saw
Coop just got signed to Vegas, and I was joking.
One of my buddies from Ohio State, Timy Eickenberger, make
you better make sure you brush up on your chess
because Mars coming, because yeah, I haven't been playing a
lot lately, but I got to get back on chess
dot com and get rolling.
Speaker 5 (01:02:53):
A little bit. All right, Luke Whippler, I appreciate the time.
Wish you all the best this season. It's so great
to have you back on the football field, and we
wish all the best.
Speaker 4 (01:03:01):
That dude's a studying. I bet he's in Columbus tomorrow.
Speaker 5 (01:03:04):
Dude, So I asked him, funny, he will not be
in Columbus, really, he said, where are you going? He said,
my high school from Jersey is playing Saint Ed's Saturday afternoons.
He goes, I will be at Lakewood Stadium. Oh man,
that's fun too. I was like, well that's that's nice.
He goes, don't worry, I'll have the phone, I'll have
(01:03:25):
the game going.
Speaker 3 (01:03:26):
But he's like, because, by the way, who the heck
at st Eds is scheduling that at that time?
Speaker 5 (01:03:32):
Fumble?
Speaker 7 (01:03:32):
What are we doing?
Speaker 4 (01:03:33):
Fellas?
Speaker 5 (01:03:34):
Yeah? I don't how about Saturday night?
Speaker 2 (01:03:36):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:03:37):
Do it under the lights?
Speaker 5 (01:03:38):
Yeah you can, yes you can.
Speaker 4 (01:03:41):
Yeah, you don't play that? What time did he set?
Speaker 2 (01:03:43):
Three o'clock.
Speaker 5 (01:03:44):
I thought it was like I thought it was like
a one o'clock kick.
Speaker 4 (01:03:47):
Oh geez, Yeah, that's.
Speaker 5 (01:03:49):
I don't know for sure, but I know it's it's
during the Ohio State Texas game.
Speaker 4 (01:03:54):
Yeah, that's not that's that's a tough way to go
about your Yes.
Speaker 5 (01:03:57):
I mean, here's the thing. If you're going you're a
you're a former Buckeye, great, Yeah, are you there Friday
night for the partying? Like, yeah, where are you? How
are you?
Speaker 3 (01:04:10):
You're you have alumni things that are stacked up upon
stacked up and and yeah, you're in you're downtown, you're
in the short North. You're bouncing around campus. If you're young,
you're bouncing around campus. If you're older or alumni, then
you're then you're rubbing, rubbing shoulders and elbows with the folks,
folks who.
Speaker 4 (01:04:28):
Run the town.
Speaker 3 (01:04:29):
So I know it's they'll do it right and you
there will be a massive invasion. I mean the thing
about it with noon, like all of Texas has to
be there today, all their fans, all of it, McConaughey,
that whole bit, all of that has.
Speaker 4 (01:04:42):
To be there.
Speaker 5 (01:04:43):
McConaughey will be there. You will be there.
Speaker 3 (01:04:45):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, Well he's like the ambassador of
cool for them or something something like that. Yeah, I
don't know. I mean I think he's part of Big Noon.
Well he always comes on that show. But he he
actually has some role sarcasm, have some roll with Texas,
Like he has some role with the football team for
whatever it is. I mean he actually he's a defensive coordinator.
(01:05:07):
But yeah, he'll he'll be there with bells on. So,
like they're not bringing Bevo though, no BiVO.
Speaker 5 (01:05:13):
No are they bringing the is Texas bringing their band?
Like where are they putting those? Where are they putting
the bank? Because didn't they redo or renovate the stadium
or the way that they're doing it. Maybe the bank
they have.
Speaker 3 (01:05:26):
Yeah, Now they're having two student sections, so there's the block,
oh and the South stands, and then they're doing a
student section the North stands as well. So I'm not
sure how they're configuring the bands for all of that.
I would think Texas's band would come.
Speaker 5 (01:05:40):
I would think it's kind of a big deal. I mean,
you're Texas, like you can afford everything, you can afford
to do it, so I would assume that they would.
Speaker 3 (01:05:47):
I think Logistically for Beavo, it probably wasn't worth it
to trailer him up there. But yeah, I would, I
would assume all of that is.
Speaker 5 (01:05:55):
I just I can't. It still sucks that it's noon.
It's gonna be an amazing atmosphere down there.
Speaker 3 (01:06:02):
It's gonna be great, and it's gonna it'll be great
down there tomorrow night. It'll be great down I'm sure
there's some Texas folks who are getting in tonight. It'll
have that juice to it. It's it's gonna you're gonna
be able to feel the energy for it. It's a
shame that it's not at night because one of the
It's funny when you hear people around Ohio State talk
about the five Texas game, they talk about it with
(01:06:23):
such reverence because of how great it all was, the
atmosphere and all that.
Speaker 5 (01:06:27):
Were you there, Yeah, we so eight fifty. I think
I think I had wrote a setup down there. We
were in Pannine's on High Street. Okay, yeah, we were
upstairs and we did we did buck We did our
own Buckeye pregame show from there, and like we did
Friday afternoon and Saturday. Because I just stayed with buddies.
Speaker 3 (01:06:47):
Just yeah, so they people talk about that game with
such reverence.
Speaker 4 (01:06:53):
O High State lost that game they did.
Speaker 3 (01:06:55):
It's you know, Justin's Wick, Ryan Hanby off the hands
and that sea, but that's Vince Young and that leads
them to eventually win the national title. But people talk
about that game with such reverence if they were there.
That's what happens when you get night. I heard Mac
Brown yesterday talking about playing in that and he said
it's the hardest environment he's ever coached in was Ohio
Stadium at night, it's just different at noon. And they're
(01:07:17):
trying a bunch of things. They have a new sing
along song that they're going to try to get everybody
to sing. They're gonna do like the Terrible Towel thing.
Speaker 5 (01:07:23):
With the tower idea for the single.
Speaker 4 (01:07:25):
No, they blew it.
Speaker 3 (01:07:26):
They tried to implement it, but they didn't do enough
to get it, like you needed to make people more
aware of it. So they picked a band. I had
not heard of it. It's a Central Ohio bands. So
they're gonna have a sing along thing. They're gonna have
some some music stuff as well, the Great Miles Walking By.
They're going to have all sorts of like musical tributes
and stuff that happened throughout the show as well, so
(01:07:48):
over the course of the three and a half hours.
Speaker 4 (01:07:50):
So we'll see.
Speaker 10 (01:07:51):
We're bringing eight fifty back down there.
Speaker 5 (01:07:54):
There you go?
Speaker 4 (01:07:54):
Where are you guys? At keV University Square.
Speaker 10 (01:07:56):
Myself and Nick Poulis will be there for from eight
to ten and then the National ESPN Radio we're like
basically broadcasting out of their car stream.
Speaker 4 (01:08:05):
So are you are you credentialed?
Speaker 5 (01:08:07):
Are you going? Yeah? We are.
Speaker 4 (01:08:09):
We'll be there and have you been?
Speaker 10 (01:08:10):
I have not, which is which is crazy, Like I
just things have just gone, you know, different directions where
had opportunities and then they win awry. So this will
be the first time and looking forward to it. So
you and Nick are both credentialed.
Speaker 5 (01:08:24):
Yes we are.
Speaker 4 (01:08:25):
Yeah, you're gonna.
Speaker 5 (01:08:28):
Yeah, Well as you don't have the seat behind the
pole in the press box, you'd be fine.
Speaker 3 (01:08:31):
That'll be my Look there their press boxes. Their press
box now is so massive. I mean it's a triple
decker press box and it's all a wall of windows,
so there's only like one. That's kind of tricky, But
I think you're gonna be fine. I think The other
thing for this weekend why it's going to be fine
is the national media is going to be so spread
out because there's LSU Clemson, there's Florida State, Alabama, there's
(01:08:54):
Miami Notre Dame. There's so many games this weekend. Obviously
the big majority of one will be at this game,
but there's so many games this weekend that I think
it'll get spread out and you're gonna enjoy it. Man,
it's do that do me a favorite. This is the
craziest thing about when my first game at Ohio Stadium
be in the press box, seated and like locked in
by I would say no later than eleven, okay, because
(01:09:17):
what's pretty crazy about Ohio Stadium that's different than any
other place I've ever been is you don't go to
the bathroom because the band's playing.
Speaker 4 (01:09:27):
Correct.
Speaker 5 (01:09:28):
Like the band released their schedule yesterday and it almost
broke the internet. Yeah, Like, here's what time we're marching
to Skull Session. Skull Session I think is nine.
Speaker 3 (01:09:38):
Ten thirty is when Skull Session starts. But I'm guessing
the band is there by nine to forty five to
get locked in and get everybody full. But the people
will talk at skull session at ten thirty and then
they walk right over.
Speaker 4 (01:09:50):
Yeah, so in a way you go.
Speaker 3 (01:09:52):
So, yeah, if you can get to skull session, keV,
go to that that thing that's crazy to see, like
twenty thousand people in a fifteen thousand.
Speaker 5 (01:09:58):
But like the band I think starts at eleven thirty
on the field. Yeah, something like along those lines.
Speaker 3 (01:10:03):
That would seem to be right because then you get
the warm up, you get like all the player warm
up and the lead up to that, and then and
your credential will allow you down on the field, keV. Yeah,
before the game, go down there and mill around because
it'll be a who's who everybody is going to go
to the game, So be down there on the field
for that. I mean I would even be there like
Quarry eleven. There's no way that there's no time that's
too early because there's a lot of cool stuff that
(01:10:24):
happens in the lead up to that.
Speaker 10 (01:10:25):
Yeah, I'm ready to soak it all in.
Speaker 4 (01:10:27):
That's that's for sure.
Speaker 5 (01:10:28):
Yeah, it's awesome.
Speaker 3 (01:10:29):
It's it's an all timer, man, and it's we've never
they've never opened with something. No one's opened with something
like this. Number one against number two, just hasn't happened. Yeah,
and the chess match of it you could have. You
could be in a situation where two years from now,
the top two quarterbacks in the NFL draft are starting
in this game. If Julian's saying is what they believe
he is and Arch is who they believe he is.
(01:10:51):
Next year, it's possible Julian comes out as a red
shirt soft after his red shirt sophomore year and and
Arch is a senior. They both could be in that
draft in twenty twenty seven. So it could be at
the top of the draft, let alone Caleb Downs and
Jeremiah and all the rest of it. So yeah, it's
gonna be a scene, man, absolute scene. All Right, We've
got it is a mail bag Thursday edition of the program,

Speaker 9 (01:12:08):
Just how surprised were you let the Chargers let you go?
And then equally, how were you surprised were you that
you know you had this opportunity to come.
Speaker 5 (01:12:15):
Up in Cleveland?
Speaker 14 (01:12:16):
Oh, I want to say when it comes down to
like being surprised, you know, I was just you know,
ready for whatever that came, you know what I mean,
that's the that was the key thing for us. I
wasn't surprised or anything like that, cause you know, I
still you know, I felt like I put in a
lot of work there and they they taught me, you know,
they paved the way for me. So you know, I
just got my head down and whatever whatever set for me,
That's what I did.
Speaker 4 (01:12:36):
So how'd you get so?
Speaker 14 (01:12:39):
Actually when I was a youngin so actually the team,
the part one of the team was called rocket Rockets.
Speaker 7 (01:12:44):
And you know for my speedy what's about that?
Speaker 2 (01:12:48):
You feel like you didn't have.
Speaker 11 (01:12:49):
Here with the Browns?
Speaker 14 (01:12:49):
That man just look just watching film of uh Nick
Nick Nick Chugg. So whenever I watched him, it was
like and just looking at the scheme of the offense,
you know, I felt like they they at all prim
perimeters of you know, throwing the ball, you know, pass
protection and just run game as well.
Speaker 5 (01:13:04):
So I feel like I.
Speaker 7 (01:13:05):
Feel well her You mentioned your speed, but I.
Speaker 14 (01:13:09):
I feel like I feel like I f yeah now
I f I feel like I got got everything when
it comes down to, you know, being a running back.
Speaker 4 (01:13:14):
Ke Kevin mentioned, uh they had then their homework on
you during the.
Speaker 2 (01:13:18):
Pre draft process.
Speaker 7 (01:13:19):
Just curious like what that was, Like?
Speaker 4 (01:13:20):
How much did you meet with them?
Speaker 7 (01:13:21):
When did you meet me?
Speaker 2 (01:13:22):
Dam how long it was?
Speaker 14 (01:13:23):
I think I actually met with them at the combine
one time. I met with so many, so many people,
so many c like so much teams at the combine.
So it was I met with them one time, but
I don't even remember.
Speaker 7 (01:13:33):
I remember.
Speaker 6 (01:13:34):
Were you surprised that you got cut by the charge
of you.
Speaker 14 (01:13:37):
I wanna I wanna say the surprise part of it,
cause I I ain't get cut, you know what I mean?
You know, I was I was gonna make a stamp,
you know, even if I was on a practice squad.
Speaker 7 (01:13:46):
Uh.
Speaker 14 (01:13:46):
That's m My main thing was just getting the opportunity.
And I feel like I got the opportunity there, you know,
and you know I took advantage of whatever that came,
you know what I mean, and just head down and
just kept my faith.
Speaker 11 (01:13:55):
Do you know much about the offensive line here and
what you're gonna be running behind?
Speaker 9 (01:13:59):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (01:13:59):
Him?
Speaker 11 (01:14:00):
Did you know anything about the U?
Speaker 7 (01:14:01):
Nahna? Not yet?
Speaker 10 (01:14:02):
What about the running back room?
Speaker 4 (01:14:04):
Do you know anybody in the room?
Speaker 5 (01:14:06):
Yeah?
Speaker 10 (01:14:06):
Do you How do you feel like what kind of
a fit is this gonna be for you?
Speaker 2 (01:14:09):
Not?
Speaker 5 (01:14:09):
Only you know?
Speaker 14 (01:14:10):
I'm I'm learning everything right now today. You know, I
came and out. I was on a flight last night.
So just learning today is gonna be a you know,
just weekend aksing. I'm staying down here, so this weekend
gonna be a learning thing, just you know, from the
players standpoint, and then the office as well.
Speaker 4 (01:14:23):
You got you got us along those lines. What's it?
What are your early impressions of Duce and when working.
Speaker 14 (01:14:29):
With him, and it's as your position coach man like
j I I could I just like the energy.
Speaker 7 (01:14:34):
I like the energy already.
Speaker 14 (01:14:35):
He showed the energy today and I feel like, you know,
just having that that coach with a lot of energy
is gonna HiPE me up every day.
Speaker 5 (01:14:41):
You've had a lot of play time in the three
preseason gettings with the Chargers.
Speaker 4 (01:14:44):
Do you think you could be up and at 'em.
Speaker 7 (01:14:47):
For the Bengals game? Yeah?
Speaker 14 (01:14:49):
Really, I'm just taking a day out of time, you know,
my first day here, you know, trying to get the
office down and you know, taking a while at a time.
I'm not worried about the the Bengals right now, worrying
about you know, getting getting y like ready for this offense,
you know, and learning and just learning everybody names and
everything like that, so.
Speaker 2 (01:15:04):
It liter your strength.
Speaker 5 (01:15:05):
Since they're running back, I.
Speaker 2 (01:15:07):
Feel like I got it all.
Speaker 14 (01:15:08):
I feel like when it comes down to pass protection,
you know, running running the ball, you know, power speed, uh,
making someone miss?
Speaker 7 (01:15:14):
For like, I I got it off.
Speaker 9 (01:15:16):
You had you had the objects of the injuries in
twenty three. How much do you feel like you're getting
back after having played last year, is.
Speaker 4 (01:15:23):
Getting back to maybe where you were.
Speaker 7 (01:15:25):
Pre h you know, pre injury with say that one time.
Speaker 9 (01:15:27):
The injuries in twenty three, how much do you feel like,
you know, having played last year now getting back to
maybe the form you had before those injuries occurred.
Speaker 14 (01:15:36):
Yeah, well, I say, uh, twenty twenty four was my
year to show that, you know, I was I was
ready and back to you know, that rocket that I
wanted to be at.
Speaker 7 (01:15:43):
So I feel like that's at the stone. That was
my key thing.
Speaker 14 (01:15:45):
Going to South Carolina, playing in the same offense that
was at Arkansas, just showing that, you know, I still
got it. That was my my year to come back
and I feel like I.
Speaker 5 (01:15:52):
Did that pret close to engage.
Speaker 14 (01:15:55):
Yeah coach, Yeah for sure, yea yeah, just with him
being It's crazy cause I was at LA uh charges
with DeCamp. He had a great, great preseason as well,
and then they they best friends for real. So yeah,
so me and him talk when we was at South Carolina.
Speaker 10 (01:16:06):
What about do you know anything about like quinch On Judkins.
Speaker 11 (01:16:09):
And I mean, did you ever know any more?
Speaker 14 (01:16:11):
I met him? Yeah, m I met him. I met him,
but not not too much, you know. I'm I met
him through the combine. You know, we you know, hit
each other up during college because look, do you know
twenty twenty two me and him was one of the
top backs out of the five twenty twenty two.
Speaker 7 (01:16:24):
The kids are one and two in the SEC and Russian.
Yeah that was yeah, that was crazy.
Speaker 14 (01:16:28):
So yeah, well s you know, texting back and forth,
you know what I mean, and just just giving the
praise out to each other.
Speaker 7 (01:16:35):
Dylan sent Dylan Seth you saying, oh the runner back. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
I did. Actually, I I met him at combine as well.
Speaker 5 (01:16:40):
Yup.
Speaker 10 (01:16:41):
Have you been in contact with with quinschron recently and
since you nah?
Speaker 2 (01:16:45):
Nah?
Speaker 5 (01:16:45):
Nah No, are you looking forward to him showing.
Speaker 14 (01:16:50):
Up here to enjoying I'm were uh yeah, oh well,
I'm I'm worried about myself right now, and just like
I said, just getting used to you know this atmosphere,
you know this weather, you know everything, you know. It's
taking that one at a time. My goal, you know,
is to learn the offense. So that's what I'm doing
right now.
Speaker 7 (01:17:04):
Where was that Rockets team that you played on as
a kid.
Speaker 14 (01:17:07):
It was out in out in Florida. Pombay, Florida. Yeah,
so it was Pop Warner team so, and somebody gave
you the nickname, aren't you.
Speaker 5 (01:17:13):
Yeah?
Speaker 14 (01:17:13):
So actually, actually, uh like after after I popped one
a year of you know, uh rockets, that's that's when
it came up. And then one of the one of
my coaches, my head coach, actually gave me that name
and then I just rock with it. So yeah, shoot,
it was we had we had. You know, I was
the back growing up that like get the ball and
just run straight out straight outside outside zone. Even if
(01:17:34):
it's inside zone, I run outside zone. So that's how
I showed my speed other than other than my mom,
you know my mom. My mom got tremendous names, you know.
So other day, Yeah, teammates called me rocket.
Speaker 5 (01:17:47):
Yep.
Speaker 7 (01:17:49):
It was I think it was four four. I run
a fourth four yep?
Speaker 4 (01:17:53):
What did you playing in the SCC.
Speaker 8 (01:17:56):
In this point?
Speaker 14 (01:17:58):
Truly, I feel like, you know, I feel like a
spare me, you know, just to be ready for this level,
you know what I mean, and just playing with a
lot of guys that's in this level now. I feel
like that that helped me a lot tremendously.
Speaker 5 (01:18:09):
Is it passing Clack?
Speaker 11 (01:18:10):
What would you what excites you about meet Joe Flacco
and then to the other guys you're gonna.
Speaker 14 (01:18:14):
Get to work with, feeling me from Sam Rivers just
all the quarterbacks, you know, just it's always a pleasure
to you know, work with a lot like great quarterbacks
you know that just have a lot of history about
bout by theyself and then you know I was at
Chargers so just.
Speaker 7 (01:18:26):
Justin as well.
Speaker 14 (01:18:27):
So just feeling feeling good, you know, just make you
wanna do more when you have a great quarterback in
the backfield, which we all got so you know you.
Speaker 5 (01:18:34):
You can tie by as final learn.
Speaker 4 (01:18:36):
So what is that experience like?
Speaker 5 (01:18:38):
Do you get kind? You get claim have to pack up,
move start over so quickly? What is that like? Really?
Speaker 14 (01:18:47):
Like I said, you know, just keeping my faith, you
know what I mean? It just going going from you know,
just undrafted and then playing with the Chargers learning, you
know what I mean, just the NFL level.
Speaker 2 (01:18:59):
Uh.
Speaker 14 (01:18:59):
I feel like I wasn't even worrying about like the
cut situation, this and that because you know, I still
put the work in, and you know, I feel like

No, miss a little, miss a lot, That's what I'm
told that's how I feel about it.
Speaker 5 (01:20:23):
We hauled it down greatly with a nice large package
of sound.
Speaker 6 (01:20:27):
All right, good, well, I'm here you go. We're back now,
the kids back.
Speaker 5 (01:20:31):
That's right. Iron Will tweeted at us asking about a
Coaches Show remote. We will be on remote next week
for the Stefanski Show next Thursday night. Oh baby, local
bar one four to seven Pearl Road in Strongsville, you
will be.
Speaker 4 (01:20:46):
There was a time when we did the program together
and it was a glorious time.
Speaker 3 (01:20:50):
I think what broke me was the one that we did.
We taped one in Finley that was seemed a little west,
even for me.
Speaker 2 (01:21:00):
What was it?
Speaker 5 (01:21:01):
We did not go to Finley? Wait, I was like,
we go to Finley? I go, No, they know there
was there was a way. There were some people that no, no,
that had us doing a CBD like in in the
middle of Amish cutting. That happened too.
Speaker 3 (01:21:17):
I was like, man, that was It's a long way.
There was one that we went. I just felt like
I was driving west for I.
Speaker 5 (01:21:25):
Was like, you might have gone to Rastle.
Speaker 4 (01:21:26):
Are we are we at Putting Bay yet?
Speaker 5 (01:21:28):
Like where are we?
Speaker 4 (01:21:29):
There were some no doubt, but we will be at
the local bar there.
Speaker 5 (01:21:33):
That's what it's called local bar that I've never been.
Speaker 3 (01:21:37):
You know who you ought to get to do do
it live there is our current offensive coordinator.
Speaker 4 (01:21:44):
Because he loves a proper local bar.
Speaker 5 (01:21:46):
Thomas.
Speaker 4 (01:21:46):
He does big Ley, Yeah, big big local bar.
Speaker 5 (01:21:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:21:51):
Might maybe maybe send that out to and see if
you can maybe get him to come by live.
Speaker 5 (01:21:57):
All right? In honor of Ohio State hexas, who are
each of your top three favorite buck guys of all time?
That is from Dog Pound Cleveland Brown.
Speaker 4 (01:22:08):
Well threes is my guy.
Speaker 3 (01:22:12):
Loved cover him and he's become a great friend, so
he would be at the very top of that list.
I mean they've had so many I think of our
just and I've gotten to know so many of these cats.
But the one I always think Eddie like checks a
lot of boxes just because that was more like our era.
Speaker 5 (01:22:33):
Big Night Tonight. Yeah, new era Falcon football. He's up there, baby,
mediocrity no more.
Speaker 4 (01:22:41):
He's up there. But baby, I love it. I love it.
Speaker 5 (01:22:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:22:44):
I mean he's gonna win the pre game. I would
love to be a fly on the wall of that
pregame chat that he has for the Falcons. Yeah, I
think that's gonna be a scene.
Speaker 3 (01:22:54):
My favorite. And then I'm gonna go Fields. I think
Fields was such a fun time. It was hard to
go over Braxman, but but I'm gonna go Justin Fields
as the as the other one that was just the
most fun guy to like just watch play the position.
Speaker 6 (01:23:08):
But there's so many college football mate so obviously my
former co host on this show, Matt Wilhelm, got to
give Wilhelm a shout out. Maybe yeah will Helm, I
was actually texting with him this morning.
Speaker 4 (01:23:21):
Congrats to Carolina with Bill.
Speaker 6 (01:23:25):
Yeah, I had Eddie George written down, and then my
third one is just because he plays the position that
I love and I just am I'm all in Jeremiah Smith,
I'm all in. I feel like he's like Calvin Johnson.
Speaker 4 (01:23:39):
How can you like? I think he probably is.
Speaker 6 (01:23:41):
I also wrote down in parentheses I had Braxton, and
then I Troy Smith.
Speaker 4 (01:23:44):
Was a great college.
Speaker 3 (01:23:46):
Quarterback and watch his last game is so held against him.
That national championship lost to Florida because they were so
incompetent East Florida, but he won the Heisman at the
at the highest the highest percentage vote or the most
first place votes Reggie Bush had the other answer to that.
Reggie had the other one until Joe won it. Burrow
won it most lopside. Yeah, but he had that record
(01:24:09):
and his his senior year at Ohio State, he was
a force of nature and.
Speaker 5 (01:24:13):
He threw it good ball.
Speaker 4 (01:24:14):
He wasn't like he had a whip. Yeah, he could
really throw it.
Speaker 3 (01:24:17):
And the crazy thing is he got out of the NFL.
He was the one who was supposed to start, and
then Flacco in Baltimore, and Flacco was young, yep, and
and then he got hurt and then Flacco stepped in
and never stepped out of it because it was going.
Speaker 5 (01:24:27):
To be him there.
Speaker 4 (01:24:28):
He of course he had quarterback in San Francisco, but.
Speaker 3 (01:24:30):
Then he went out of the league and then he
got back. He went and played in the CFL because
he threw on Pro Day and they were like, whoa
still got a whip. He went back to the CFL
and played for a couple more years.
Speaker 4 (01:24:43):
So yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:24:45):
Uh. From our YouTube channel YouTube dot com slash Browns,
Ryan asks, if you were given a death Row style
quote last weekend before the NFL and college seasons started,
what would you do.
Speaker 4 (01:25:00):
A I'm sorry, what.
Speaker 5 (01:25:02):
A death row style last weekend like a last supper.
But it's the last weekend, and.
Speaker 4 (01:25:08):
What is the thing you're doing? You can I get
a pick.
Speaker 6 (01:25:11):
You can do whatever you want. What would you I'd
like to have a wonderful day with my family. I
would like to play some golf. Yeah, I would like
to eat prime rib. I would like to have a
lot of wine, mix some tacos in somewhere in there.
I'd like to meet Larry David and I would like
to wrestle another match that's happening.
Speaker 5 (01:25:37):
This week?
Speaker 2 (01:25:37):
Are we?
Speaker 5 (01:25:39):
So?
Speaker 2 (01:25:39):
We we?
Speaker 3 (01:25:40):
The idea was this is like the last thing we
do before all the football starts. That's the idea they're
going for. I mean, I kind of last weekend we
did that. I played golf with the boys and had
great meals and yeah, yeah it was nice.
Speaker 5 (01:25:53):
H Thomas Howard asks how many touches do you think
Samson gets week one?
Speaker 6 (01:25:59):
I would put the over under on his combined rushes
and targets at.
Speaker 4 (01:26:07):
Thirteen and a half.
Speaker 3 (01:26:08):
So funny, I said, in my in my head, my
mental I wrote down twelve and a half. So we're
in a similar world, my friend, Yeah, twelve and a half.
Speaker 4 (01:26:17):
Oh, can't wait till we get back to the over
unders down goes give Bay again stunning?
Speaker 5 (01:26:23):
Did I not? I didn't win last year?
Speaker 4 (01:26:25):
He went last year? I don't.
Speaker 5 (01:26:26):
I feel like I did.
Speaker 4 (01:26:27):
I don't I think last year he did this year before?
Speaker 5 (01:26:30):
Hold on, I did?
Speaker 4 (01:26:31):
Hold on right, spreadsheets, you have the spreadshedsheets. I felt
like that documentation let's see here we go.
Speaker 6 (01:26:38):
Now I beat you forty five? Hold on, wait forty yeah,
forty five to forty three. Brother, read them and weep.
You were up. You were up at one point in
week after week seventeen, you were up forty to thirty eight.
Speaker 4 (01:26:55):
Then oh that's right. Then I tie you and at
fourty one.
Speaker 5 (01:27:00):
These are just that's what literally in the middle of
the game broadcast and girl turns around as like I
got another one, literally.
Speaker 6 (01:27:08):
All in the division round where we were at yeah,
forty five, forty three one final one here.
Speaker 5 (01:27:15):
Real question, ah, if you could sit courtside or field
side at any sporting event in history, what would it
be in history? In history?
Speaker 6 (01:27:27):
Does it have to be like, yes, a real like?
Does it something that already in sports?
Speaker 4 (01:27:33):
Or men? Super Bowl? Wouldn't you?
Speaker 2 (01:27:38):
I mean?
Speaker 1 (01:27:38):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (01:27:38):
But there would also be something about like sitting front
row or field side for let's call it if this
is made up, So now I'm making it up a
little bit. But I know Italy has been the host nation,
hasn't it for the World Cup before? Like being there
for if Italy is in the finals of the World
Cup in Italy or in my Croatia in the finals
(01:27:59):
of World Cup in Croaste, I feel like that environment
would be different than There's no American sports equivalent to that.
Speaker 4 (01:28:06):
Yeah, no, probably not.
Speaker 3 (01:28:07):
I mean Brazil either played did they play in the
final and lost to Germany seven to nothing? Or in
the semi final and they were hosts and got bombed
by Germany seven, And yeah, Germany beat Argentina in the
final that year. I mean, historically, I was such a
big Magic Johnson Lakers fan, Like it would have been
(01:28:27):
something to be like in my formative age when he
hit the baby hook in Boston Garden and to see
like that a courtside would have been a crazy thing.
Speaker 6 (01:28:37):
It would have been cool to be courtside though for
any of the Showtime ones in LA and you're like, oh,
oh yeah, Nicholson for sure, that's just the one that
I mean, he won it totally and then they ran out.
Speaker 4 (01:28:47):
I mean, that would have been such a cool thing
to be a part of. But there's a lot of good.
Speaker 3 (01:28:50):

Marckett if.
