Alright, looks so alive on this edition to Cleveland Browns
Daily were presented by bally Bet, official sports betting partner
of your Cleveland Browns. I am merely Bo. He is
the Great Z and to my right, the Great Show Flacco.
Good to see you, buddy, Yeah, good to see you guys.
How's practice this morning? Everything?

Speaker 3 (00:56):
How's it going?

Speaker 2 (00:57):
A couple? We're in the in the dog days of it,
and good lord, is the been there?

Speaker 4 (01:01):
Yeah? The heat has been there. It's funny.

Speaker 5 (01:02):
I mean, it's not like we're out there that long,
so it's tough to uh, you know, you have to
label something as the dog days, so you kind of
labeled this week full pads. It has been hot. It's funny,
you know. It's you don't have to do much before
you're kind of dripping and sweat and the towels are
all soaked. So it's good to kind of, you know,
see some of the guys get pushed through this a
little bit.

Speaker 3 (01:22):
All right, you did an interview with CBS kind of
at home, a feature. How what do you have to do?
You won a Super Bowl, You've been a Super Bowl MVP.
You're playing for eighteen years when the average career in
this league is under three years, and your kids are
not impressed at all with your resume. What do you
have to do? I'm sitting here being like, I got
no chance.

Speaker 5 (01:41):
Yeah, I think they told you. I think they said
I have to win another super Bowl.

Speaker 6 (01:49):
Man.

Speaker 5 (01:49):
You know, you know how kids can be. Man, It's
it's a freaking trip with those guys.

Speaker 4 (01:55):
You know, they didn't get to see.

Speaker 5 (01:57):
The majority of my first career, so I think it's
just their way of showing how excited they are to
kind of I feel like be a part of it
a little bit.

Speaker 4 (02:04):
Honestly.

Speaker 5 (02:05):
I tell people, like, they definitely have more fun poking
fun at me, but like when good things happen, they
don't necessarily say it, but you can just see it
on their faces, you know. So they're never gonna give
you anything, and not just me other people asking they're
gonna take every chance they get to kind of give
it to me a little bit. But you can tell,

(02:25):
like just by looking at their face, like when they're
somewhat proud of like just kind of I'm sure they
can tell when you know we're proud of them and
they can see it on our.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
Faces as they should be. Just have them watch Training
Camp Inside presented by Gregory Industries. You can find on
the Browns YouTube channel. Bernie Kozar, who is a legend
in his own right, effusive in his praise for you
every day. He's like, I'm not on his pr staff,
trust me. So just tell them to watch that and
they'll get somebody else.

Speaker 4 (02:53):
Yeah, Bernie has been unbelievable.

Speaker 7 (02:54):
Man.

Speaker 5 (02:55):
I talked to him out there a little bit today
and I was like, dude, it means so much, Like
thank you so much.

Speaker 4 (03:00):
He's been great.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
Your bootleg roll out, He's like it just flicks it,
risk it so effortless. I could never do that. He's like, it,
what's going on?

Speaker 1 (03:09):
You know?

Speaker 2 (03:09):
I remember the last time you were here in studio
with us one of the things, and it was coming
off of that incredible run of games get us into
the postseason, that incredible finish to that season. You were
in here where you were talking about your kids and
you said, what's kind of cool is they're getting to
see it. Yeah, and so they get to be a
part of it. And so now to return back here
where you had that magical time here, what has that

(03:30):
been like for the family to have you back back here.

Speaker 5 (03:33):
I think it's a lot of I think they're excited
about it. I mean, you know, my like I said,
they're never going to tell you, but like my older
boys are like, you shuld play till you're fifty, you know.
So like when when they say those kind of things,
like they're obviously excited about the chance to like be
a part of it, and yeah, it makes you feel good.
I mean I think there's there's got to be some
selfish thoughts on my part in there to kind of

(03:55):
like have them like it's kind of like, man, it's
cool for me that they're a part of it, you know.
And yeah, so like this this is all about kind
of getting to that point where we can, you know,
hopefully enjoy it.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
You mentioned Bernie too, and I was thinking about it, like,
you know, the name of the division was different, but
you really can't write the history of this division without
like guys like you and Bernie and these guys who
played a long time in this division and won a
lot in this division. There's a badge of honor of
playing a career in this division.

Speaker 5 (04:22):
Yeah, I really, yeah, I do think there is. I mean,
I think every division probably can say that. But man,
I remember coming into this league and like, you have
to be able to play in weather, and you have
to be able to play against you know, good tough defenses.
You have to kind of be willing to play a
little bit more old school style football. I remember people

(04:42):
kind of, you know, when I got drafted in Baltimore,
people talking about like having to get a guy that
can play in this division. So people are prideful about
playing against these teams. And since I've been in the league,
you know, there's every single team has been a challenge.

Speaker 4 (04:57):
Now.

Speaker 5 (04:58):
You know, obviously there's been some years where Eland and
a couple of teams haven't had the best records, but
they're always a challenge to play. And I mean you
can look back and there's there's a handful of years
where three teams from this division have made the playoffs,
and that was before even seven teams were in the
playoffs from each team, like even when we were only
doing six, Like there was years where Baltimore, Cincinnati, Cleveland,
you know, I mean, Pittsburgh were all in the playoffs.

(05:20):
I mean, I think who was in it in twenty three,
I mean Baltimore, US and another year. And so it's
always going to be tough, you know. So you always
look at these teams and like, we have one of
the toughest schedules this year, and it's like, yeah, you
play in the AC North, and when you're kind of

(05:40):
at the bottom of the division in terms of last
year's records, Well, you're playing all those teams that you're
playing are technically better than you said. You're gonna have
a slightly harder schedule than those teams are. It's just
every year you're going to be in the top of
the hardest schedules in the league just because you have
to play these teams twice.

Speaker 3 (05:56):
So Kevin Stefanski says that he doesn't pay any attention
to it. He doesn't look at it. I don't know
if I completely believe. You know, we opened the season
this year with Cincinnati and Baltimore. I mean last year,
the Browns didn't play Division game until I think it
was Week eight. That has to you've been in this division.
You talked about it like those games you don't get
a chance really to kind of ramp up and oh,
we're gonna get the things figured out in the first month.

(06:17):
When you've got back to back division games. Is that
as a player, knowing what you've been through in the
wars you've been through in this division, like, Okay, it's
we've got to be crisp.

Speaker 5 (06:25):
Yeah, listen, you definitely want to come out crisp. I
think you always want to get off to a good
start to get that confidence going for your team. But
it is a long in Kevin's defense, it is a
long season. Like you can't let early things affect your mindset.
You have to stay the course because it's a long
like Baltimore started owing to last year, Cincinnati started owing

(06:48):
two a couple of years. I think Baltimore started owing
to last year, and like and then when I was
looking at it, like they were the best team in
the league.

Speaker 3 (06:56):
Yep.

Speaker 5 (06:57):
Now Philly did beat them in the regular season, so
and they want the Super obviously, so you got to
give them a lot of credit. But like all year
I was saying, lest listen, it's Baltimore and Philly, you know,
And like I said, they started out zho and two.
So it is imperative that we kind of get our
team going and really get it heading in the right
direction early on and for those division games because you

(07:17):
know how important they are. But at the same time,
like like like I said in Kevin's defense, you got
to just look at it one at a time and
take it for what it is.

Speaker 3 (07:26):
You've seen this league evolve significantly in take it on Sundays, Monday,
Sursday Night's all of that evolve in terms of how
the game has played the style of it. But you've
seen it in your eighteen years, I'm sure evolved training
camp massively, right, Today was the first day in Kevin
Stefanski's tenure here that there was live tackling in a
training camp. Yeah, and it was on day two of PADS.

(07:46):
I mean we're talking about you weren't at the Greenbrier
either the year you were with us, but day one
in PADS was like just individual and you know, position
group and then maybe some on air, but it and
never got to live What are your kind of are
you sensing around that this is just you know, talks
about hardening the body, hardening the mind, that this is
a different kind of a camp here, and that this
is a team that maybe it has nothing to do

(08:08):
with the way the schedule opens, but that we're going
to be ready to be physical immediately.

Speaker 4 (08:13):
Yeah, I think it's pretty cool.

Speaker 5 (08:14):
I remember going back to like my first year and
like we did like a live short yardist goal line period,
and it was it was insane, Like, yeah, it was
crazy because everybody knows where the ball is going and
it's like a hitting drill with two hundred and fifty
pound grown men, like when you're doing tackling drills a
high school and you know, but when you have two,

(08:34):
you know, eleven on eleven giant guys running into each
other at full speed, like, man, there's gonna be some collisions.

Speaker 4 (08:41):
So I thought it was pretty cool today.

Speaker 5 (08:43):
I mean, I think he honestly wants to find out
about some of the guys on this team and what
they can, you know, because like when you're when you're
just thudding off and stuff like it isn't quite real,
you know, like a blow the whistle, he's down right there,
so you don't really get to find out until the
preseason games and stuff about how guys can break tackles
and how much they shy away from things. Maybe, so
when you get to do a period like that, and

(09:04):
I think our team responded well, like I think everybody's
excited about it, and I do think you got to
see some of guys, you know. I think you get
to see a little bit more about what makes guys
good football players, and that's breaking tackles and seeking out
some contact and not being shy to be a part
of it. I think those things are all really important
in order to be a good football player. So you
get to find a little bit, Yeah, you get to

(09:25):
find a little bit of that out about certain guys
where you wouldn't if you didn't do it.

Speaker 2 (09:29):
Certainly, the quarterback position is one that everyone's talking about.
You have the injury to Kenny earlier this week, and
hopefully he gets back soon. But we talked to Kevin
several times and one of the things he talked about
was the plan that he was going to have for
you guys. And there's never enough reps, right, just never
enough reps. And you've talked about that publicly as well.
But how how is that part going from your perspective,

(09:51):
You've been through a lot of these of these early camps.
How's that part going in terms of trying to get
everybody reps?

Speaker 5 (09:57):
Yeah, listen, I think they were trying to get everybody reps,
you know, and it is a hard thing because, especially
in today's camp, you're only out there for so long.
Like if we were running one hundred and twenty reps
and we were splitting the field up and there'd be
everybody would get a good amount of reps. Like, even
if you're getting a lot of reps right now, it's
still not as many as you were getting ten years ago,

(10:17):
like if you were the second or third string guy.
So there's always going to be a limited number. And
it's funny, like you know, you want Kenny to get
back out there. You can definitely see the difference when
there's three guys versus four. You know, it becomes way
it's even less of a headache for the coaches to

(10:38):
come out to come up with how they're going to
split them. So listen, we all love getting reps. You
get into a little bit of a groove, you kind
of start to feel comfortable with everybody. You get to
show a little bit about what you do without having
to worry about the little tiny things that don't really matter.
So but at the same time, like it's our job
right now to kind of just adapt and be able
to adjust to whatever you know there asking of us.

(11:00):
And I think that's the most important thing is you
can't dwell on those things. You just got to do
whatever they're asking you to do. That you got to
do the best. And maybe sometimes you'll feel like that
you're not doing enough, or you're not maybe they're not
seeing you. But you just have to have faith and
that you are and just kind of stay the course
and let it play yourself out.

Speaker 3 (11:20):
Is it hard to imagine it would be human nature
be like, okay, I've got you know today, I'm going
to have nine we'll call it or twelve. Yeah, I
want to throw the ball down the field and show
them the things I can do. But maybe that's not
what's dictated on this play based on the coverage all that.

Speaker 4 (11:35):
Yeah, that's kind of what I'm talking about.

Speaker 8 (11:36):
It.

Speaker 5 (11:36):
I think there is some difficulty with that for sure,
but I can tell you the best thing to do
is just play each play as it is you're gonna
get opportunities to throw the ball down the field, and
if you don't, you don't. Like, that's not what practice
is about. It's about showing. Listen, especially for me, like
there's certain things that I think we know that I
can do and stuff like that, Like I don't need
to throw the ball down the field every play, Like, okay,

(12:00):
documented you know, so, like if a couple guys get
to throw the ball down field a couple times in
practice and I don't, I can't feel bad about that.
I got to feel good that I did what I did,
or I gotta feel bad that I like I did
what I was supposed to do, or I gotta feel
bad that I didn't do what I.

Speaker 4 (12:14):
Was supposed to do.

Speaker 3 (12:14):
You know.

Speaker 5 (12:15):
So I want to walk off that practice field feeling
good about the decisions that I made. And if that
means that I had to check the ball down on
every single rep, well, I I honestly would feel good
about it because that's what I felt like that's what
I was supposed to do.

Speaker 3 (12:28):
I just like when they keep starting off for you
with like some kind of a dagger, Yeah to read
the post or the dig just where are you going
middle of the field, boom, and then it just looks
looks so pretty.

Speaker 5 (12:36):
There's certain things about those plays where I do I
do kind of think about it. I'm like, okay, okay,
you get a chance to go the ball down the field.
But remember remember you do have a running back. If
they just drop back, just hit the running back, get
a little pressure, hit the running back.

Speaker 3 (12:48):
So and there has been some pressure. This d line
has been very impressive.

Speaker 4 (12:51):
They're good.

Speaker 2 (12:52):
You guys got Carolina next week on the joint practices
and then preseason playing away we go. You've been through
a lot of these. Are you hitting the benchmarks that
you need despite not being enough reps just physically the
benchmarks you need to know your body for just if
it is you that you'll be ready to go, yeah,
oh h I'll be ready to go.

Speaker 3 (13:11):
I mean listen, like you came off the couch in
La was ready to go two years ago.

Speaker 5 (13:16):
I know you like you like getting the reps for sure,
and it's more than just getting your body ready, Like
there's other things to that, but you definitely like getting
the reps. But at this point, you know, you just
go out and do it, and and that's what the
all seasons for is to get your body ready to
go through you know, a seventeen plus game season.

Speaker 2 (13:38):
All right, get your meeting yep, good talking was good.

(14:55):
than the previous two days and that we've already had practice.

Speaker 3 (14:58):
It's done. It's fantast is what it is, Absolutely fantastic
couldn't be happier.

Speaker 2 (15:05):
Do we? All right, let's this happened. Let's let's do
this first, because I want to pay proper homage to
to MJ, who is frequent in here and you've had
a very close connection with from the time he was drafted,
and he's one of the great friends of the program.
You know, I kind of view him the way that
we had, you know, for a while we had Jarvis,
was like that he was in here quite a bit.

(15:25):
Or uh, there's there's other guys who we've had, and
MJ has been in here a lot. And we were
on the air in our final segment yesterday when this happened,
and it's one of those things where you hear a
hush and then you start to look for numbers, and honestly,
the first thing I saw was Denzel on a knee,
and so then you're like, and we were watching, so go, okay, well,

(15:46):
you know, it's first team defense, and then you're looking
for numbers and he kind of sat up and you
saw the one in a way you go. And we
had the news official that he is he's done for
the season with the torn achilles. So a lot of
layers to this one. We talked about some of it yesterday,
but now knowing what correctly assumed yesterday for him personally,
just heartbroken. I just how devastating and how fleeting life

(16:08):
is and sport is. That was an example of that.
And then Team wis theer's big ramifications as well. So
I'll open the floor and let you let you waxpoet it.

Speaker 3 (16:17):
Yeah, I tweeted or axed about it.

Speaker 6 (16:20):
I still can.

Speaker 3 (16:20):
Last night I do too. I tweeted about it. And
there's just not a lot enough that you can say
on there. So in this job, which I feel very
privileged to have, one of my favorite parts of this
job honestly, and it's going into now see my thirteenth

(16:43):
season here. Yeah, which is crazy when I say that
it is is I'm the first person that anybody we
draft talks to. I'm the first person that anybody we
sign a free agency typically you know, gets interviewed by
But it's the it's the draft, guys. And I remember

(17:06):
that year we were shocked at the first pick that
Browns used was a cornerback. You'd had Denzel, you use
of one on Greg, you know, right before, and remember
we didn't have a one We traded out of two
I think to get Elijah Moore that year, and we
get our first pick was in the third round was
m j Emerson, And immediately he was just one of

(17:32):
those guys that I clicked with. You know, when you're
in this job and you're around these guys, and you're
around the team like you have like your guys like
there are certainly anybody who listens to this show or
listens to me do the games on Sundays, you know,
like who my guys are. Like. It's just it's clear.
And mj Emerson has been one of my guys from
day one, and in fact, it is one of my

(17:53):
favorite guys I've ever gotten the privilege to really know
or cover on this football team. I think he is
an incredible young man. I think that he is a
great player. Obviously. I know he had a down year
last year, and I thought that was another layer to
this as he spoke at the podium yesterday in a
very vulnerable way about you know, the soul searching he

(18:15):
did and how he was gonna how determined he was
to be the player he had been prior and you know,
all the work that was going to be put into
that for not only just you know, the physical part
of it, the mental aspect, the emotional all of it
to you know, be back and be a guy that
you know is a Pro Bowl caliber cornerback. Because he
was first two years in league twenty nine passes defense

(18:36):
he had fourteen and fifteen second heear he had four picks.
He was on his way, you know, and then last
year was just not quite up to a standar. He
played through a little bit of an injury, then started,
you know, starting to doubt himself a little bit, and
you know, that's a hard way to play in this game.
So he was very vulnerable about that. Then he realized
this is also his contract year, and so a Pro
Bowl type of a season could mean multi generational wealth

(18:57):
for the Emerson's Like legit, I mean, that's not a joke.
If he goes out and has a Pro Bowl cornerback
season with his size and his abilities, you know, this
is somebody who could be making you know, thirty million
a year that changes over four years. That's you know,
you're talking now over one hundred million dollars on a
contract that changes generations lives. So I consider him a friend,

(19:21):
like we always seek each other out when he comes
back when all of that, and so that one really
hurt me because he's somebody that has done it the
right way the whole time. You go back to even
to hear about his college coach talked about Mississippi State
plays with like the broken classical, which is insane. State
in a game after breaking on like a goal line
play and was like locking people down. He just was

(19:43):
a special, special kid, wanted it from day one, was
a leader from day one, kind of in his attitude
and his demeanor, all of it. Great competitor, a great
representative of our organization. You know, you never hear a
single bad thing about him on field, off field. Ever,
He's just a He is a wonderful young man and
somebody that you know, very proud to call a friend,
and very proud that he's a representative of the organization

(20:04):
for which I work. My heart was like a broken
last I talked to many people about it inside our building,
outside our building, just friends of mine who knew how
much I liked MJA talked, of course the great bet
Lynch last night and sought him out and was able
to at least send a text to MJ and he
wrote back this morning, so I know that he's obviously,

(20:25):
you know, just the support means a lot to him,
and you know he will be back and better than ever.
But it is just a it's a gut wrenching thing.
We see these people, you know, in these uniforms as
gladiators and all of that, but they are human beings
just like all of us. They have crises of confidence
at times, just like all of us. They go through,

(20:46):
you know, their adversity, just like all of us. And
they have an opportunity to obviously, you know, play a
game for a great sum and that is incredible that
they have these gifts. But you're talking about somebody that
was always there, always did it the right way, and
those are the ones that you want to see succeed.
Those are the people that you want to everything to
go their way, the ball to bounce their way, to

(21:08):
get the breaks that allow them to reach, you know,
a level that is going to change, you know, their
family dynamic forever that is going to you know, change
hopefully the course of this franchise to be that level
of a player. And m j Emerson possesses all of
those things. And so when you see him go down
non contact and you know what it means to him,
if you truly know him, you know what it means
to him to be great, and you know what it

(21:29):
means to him to be a Cleveland Brown. It just is.
It's brutal, man, And that is the hardest. That is
one of the hardest parts of this job is that
people you know and that you care about. And that's
the other thing. Like I've been here, I said, thirteenth season.
A ton of head coaches, a ton of people on

(21:51):
those staffs, and you never know, like what the snowball
effect of anyone injury or decision or all that can be.
But these are people who put they put so much
work into these things, and the players put so much
work in their bodies to get there, and then you
have this taken away from you in the blink of
an eye. I mean, he was gearing up new number,
all of it to get this big year, and then

(22:12):
just on day six of camp just running like a
little go rout. He wasn't even involved in play. No Achilles, Pops.
That's it. It sucks, man, And that is it is
such a hard thing. And I love m j Emerson,
I mean that sincerely, and he knows it, and I
think a lot of people in this building love MJ
Emerson and he will have all the support he needs.
And I helpe all you fans out there it can

(22:32):
support him and give him love and wish him a
speedy recovery when when that time comes. I know he'll
do everything in his can to get back as quickly
as he can and get back to one hundred percent
and all of that. But you know, this season is
over and so the earliest will see him, you know,
and it's a contract year, so you never know. But
I certainly hope that he is a Cleveland Brown forever.
But yeah, it's brutal, man, it is. It is brutal.

(22:54):
And there has not been a sentiment that has been
shared by anybody, and I'm talking the top. They're not
just like their heart breaks for him because he's the
kind of guy that you want it to be. It's
kind of like he has not had the success that
Nick Chubb had, but in terms of the way he
approaches his job and the way that he's regarded by
his teammates as coaches, up is the same and that

(23:15):
he was about his business, came to work every day,
did everything he could to maximize his gifts, and so
it is, it's it's brutal.

Speaker 2 (23:23):
It just was such an uplifting personality. Every time you
saw him, you just smiled. He always had a big
smile on his face. And it wasn't just you know,
for you or for other teammates. It was in the cafe,
it was all the places like he just as we loved.
I know, it was going to say, we were walking
out yesterday and you saw Holly down there, and Holly
down there and and and she was broken as we

(23:47):
were kind of you know, walking out and just kind
of taking it all in. And it I think it
speaks to too. This is the thing that's so much.
You have so much respect for what these guys do.
And you're right, the money, the fame, all of that,
but like you think about the work that's put in
and then you know, you and I we got done
with the show yesterday and like we kind of took
a walk because it was like, oh almighty, that's a

(24:07):
lot to kind of take in. And then not three
minutes after because it you know, everyone runs over and
then he gets and then you blow a whistle and
then away we go. Because the it must go on.
It has to and so because you got finite amount
of time and we got to go to work and
that's it, and that's part of being a professional. But

(24:28):
it was, yeah, it was. It was a brutal, brutal
one and you and I witnessed a couple of those now,
but we didn't know Grant the way we know NJ
because he was a rookie and you just didn't know
him as well, whereas MJ we've obviously known very very well.
All right, So that is the personal side of it.
The football side of it is as big as the
personal side. You take the personal stuff out of it.

(24:50):
This football team, there was a roadmap that was very
specific for them to have success, and that roadmap still exists,
but it has been altered dramatically in the last couple
of weeks. When you think about the losses to guys
who are going to be counted on to be defensive starters,
you think about Quincy and Judkins still not here. Much
of what you thought this team was going to be

(25:11):
built upon, if there was going to be success, has
been put into question here in the first two weeks.

Speaker 3 (25:16):
Yeah, now, Cam Mitchell, who's the guys that's gotten to
start some Jesus, I mean painted, They made those painted
right on me either just wax on wax off. It
gives him extra spring forts.

Speaker 4 (25:32):
A little bit.

Speaker 3 (25:33):
Yeah, this is look, cam Mitchell is gonna be the
first guy up right, So you're gonna go Denzil on
the outside with Greg and then cam Mitchell. You know,
two Northwestern guys in there together. He's going to be
the first guy. But we've seen him start, and we've
seen him play well in the past. He's going to
need to do a lot more of that. Chiganusium is
a guy that they signed off the practice squad from

(25:53):
Washington last year, carried on the fifty three the whole time.
To me, he's most likely kind of that next guy
on the outside. You know that those are your top four,
But then dude, it is wide wide open. You have
a couple of undrafted free agents, Dom Jones and Lamary
and James Anthony Kendall. You know, bringing Tony Brown is here,
but much more of a special teams guy. Now. Nick

(26:14):
Needham's guy who's played some corner in his in his time,
he's been working with the safeties. He wondered does he
transition back over there. Miles Harden, who you drafted the
seventh round last year, can play certainly in in the
slot as well, and he was a guy who had
a great preseason last year. He's been away for personal
reasons last few days, so we need to see that.
But it's this is a very that room. Is it deep? Yes,

(26:40):
yes it is. But at the same time, now it
is you know, your top three was very good, if
not an elite trio in the league, and now you
know you're gonna have to count on people to step up.
And you know, Cam Mitchell was a fifth round pick.
Anthony Kendall from Bob Wallace was, you know, a college
free agent with the Titans a few years ago. The

(27:01):
other guys are college free agents like this is not
There isn't that pedigree in there that you had, you
know prior. And you know Chickenoosium, he's got some size
to him. He's the one who's six to one too,
you know from the size profile most probably similar to MJ.
But you know, an undrafted free agent in his own
right out of Colorado State. So this is not what

(27:24):
it was prior going in and we talked about it
even you know, on the other side, of it is.
You know, in six days now, seven days of camp,
you know that you're starting Mike Linebacker retired, You're starting
Will Linebacker has been lost for the season prior to
this and basically one of the best off fall linebackers
in the NFL period, full stop. And now you're your

(27:44):
number two corner m j Emerson lost for the season.
And so you're gonna need a Carson Swestnger to step up.
You're gonna need, you know, guys now in this cornerback
room to really step up, and be Lynch is gonna have,
you know, his hands full. There aren't a lot of
great veteran options out there that are available. You know,
there are guys that maybe are one year rentals. You know,
Bradbury is out there, James Bradbury a little long too,

(28:06):
the Santi Samuel Junior, but you don't know about his health.
It's got shoulder issues. So it's there isn't like a
quick fix necessarily just sitting out there.

Speaker 2 (28:16):
No, no, there's not. It's a it's an incredible emotional
blow and it's an emotional body blow to the defense
to have these these are two things that you just
don't you don't ever count and now your margin for
error in terms of that depth is also hurting. Denzel
played sixteen games last year, but previous that he's usually
misses a couple here and there for various things that

(28:37):
have happened him. It's dealt with concussions of course, his
whole career. So this is just one of those things
where you needed for there to be success this season
in terms of the wins and losses. You needed this defense.
You need this defense to be a top five or
six in the in the league unit. Yep, they're gonna
be on the field a lot unless you can find
ways to take the air out of the ball and

(28:59):
have sustained drive through the run game, which I think
is what the plan is going to be. But but
they need to be dynamic, they need to take the
ball away. They need to be a top five or
six defense in the league to have success. And now
two elevenths of that defense that you were counting on
a week ago aren't here and and so others are
gonna have to step up, and it's a it's a
it's a tough one.

Speaker 3 (29:20):
Douglas is out there, maybe that's a potential Mike Hilton
would be a veteran who could certainly come and play.
He signed with the Dolphins in never mind, this is
an outdated list to click on all the names. Douglas
is still a free agent. Yeah, it's just there, aren't.
Yeah you need We're gonna win by being an elite
defense running the football, limiting mistakes on offense, and when
big plays present themselves, hitting.

Speaker 2 (29:42):
Them all right from the practice this morning. We talked
about this with Joe, but this is pretty big headline.

Speaker 3 (29:51):
Here, huge headlin.

Speaker 2 (29:52):
I mean, we've never done this.

Speaker 3 (29:52):
Well, we told you, we told you it was gonna
be a different camp. I know it's gonna be that
different day two of.

Speaker 2 (29:59):
Have any idea it was or all of a sudden
did it just start happening so today?

Speaker 3 (30:02):
To be fair, I did not, but it was. I
know Andrew got tipped off right before it happened, like
watch this, this is gonna be pretty good, and it happened.
I did not know that it was coming. I also,
Luca was out at campus, so we had Luca was
parading around talking various the various people. By the baby
boy was out there, How was he regulating his heat?
He did a good job, so we kept him in
the shade. It was just so one of the biggest

(30:24):
of L's. In fact, the biggest was adamant that she
got to see him today. And she happened to be
standing in a shaded area, which was great. So we
kind of walked around the whole field with him him
in the shade. I also stopped him for a little
bit in front of those Oh yeah, yeah, I got
a little missed on him, which was which was good.
And then we got him back in the a seat
pretty quickly. That's awesome, but it was. It was very cool,
very special, and Ard and Bryce came, Oh good, full family,

(30:47):
and my mom introduces everybody, Oh and this is my mom,
and she goes, I'm Nana. Nana throws get the hand
out there.

Speaker 2 (30:56):
So it was that is very strong.

Speaker 3 (30:58):
You know this guy, this is the g man. Yeah,
you know. She's like, oh, I don't I know you,
I know you, I know you.

Speaker 2 (31:04):
Between her and the Rapscallion Gibbee was nowhere to be found.

Speaker 3 (31:09):
To track him down in here, We tried to track
him down outside nowhere.

Speaker 2 (31:13):
To be.

Speaker 3 (31:16):
I think that he could Yeah.

Speaker 2 (31:19):
There had been some crosswords from ahead.

Speaker 3 (31:22):
I try to tell her, I'm like, no, he really
does love me, and she's like, I don't think so.

Speaker 2 (31:26):
I don't think he does. All right, So Andrew get
a little bit of tipped off, but all of a sudden,
you're and to go, oh, here we go.

Speaker 3 (31:35):
We're gonna that's what we're doing. We're going full contact.
And that is you know, the reason this is a
big headline is this is the first time that it's
happened in a Kevin Stefanski training camp. And we told you,
you know, I made significant note of what day one
pads was like, Now did I think we were going
to get to right here? I did not, But here

(31:55):
we are, and I think it's a It's a good thing.
This is a team that you know, you talk about
being hardened and callous and all of those things. What
does that kind of what does that mean? It means
that it means you got to be ready to play
some football. And I'll tell you what you know, talking
with Joe a little bit before we were on air,
but you know, Gauge Larvadan Lardavan, Gauge Larvan. It continues

(32:17):
to make plays and probably had the play of the
padded portion of training camp or the live portion of
training camp. Today when he took it and was able
to move through the defense and weave into the end zone.
And so that was a big That was a darn
big deal. And Harold Fannin, you know everything you know

(32:38):
about Harold Fannin and what it looks like for Harold
Fannin to be a guy that you know is able
to after the catch make plays. You saw that him,
people bouncing off him, trying to get him to the ground.
So I thought it was a very productive period and
it was. It was also a very good period to see.
When you're talking about the fact that you've got, you know,

(33:00):
tackling physicality football for the Cleveland Browns, I think that's fantastic.

Speaker 2 (33:05):
Yeah, it has to be. And I think the other
part of it is and now you have this, you know,
you have this injury to MJ. We've talked about the receivers.
You mentioned Lardavan and also we've mentioned Floria a lot too.
And in addition to that, you think about the depth
on the offensive line that we want to see something
from linebacker two, Like we have so many question marks

(33:26):
with so many young guys, you kind of just need
to see him play a little football. It's kind of
what I think it is. I think you just need
to see what happens when we really play, because you
do these things. That's why the larder Man thing, that's
that's big potentially because he's been looking great for the
first week, but now all of a sudden, you're going, okay,
full context, what's it look like.

Speaker 3 (33:43):
They're well, pretty good, pretty good, that's a win. That
is a win, and you're gonna need these young guys.
Dylan Samson, for example, on the first the second play
of the live period, bounces to the outside and makes
the first guy miss, bounces off of a tackle and
then Carson Swessnger come and cleans them up. But you know,
those are the extra four yards that when you're in
a non tackle situation where they come up and they

(34:05):
you know, touch off or tag off and they say that, oh,
he's down right there. But that's the difference that's in
real football.

Speaker 9 (34:11):
So we do have a little bit of news. MJ
officially put on injured reserve. The team has also waved
wide receiver Michael Woods with an injury designation.

Speaker 3 (34:21):
And unfortunately uh had a broken hand. Is there is
there a signing that comes along with these.

Speaker 2 (34:31):
Doesn't appear so yet. Is there a signing that is
or just that okay, just that okay?

Speaker 3 (34:37):
Was there any update anywhere? Did anybody see because we've
been running around and we had Joe in here, so
I haven't been really able to search this out. But
any updates on dewand Jones?

Speaker 2 (34:46):
Yes, there were several reports that was just heat related.

Speaker 4 (34:49):
Yes, Mary Kay is saying.

Speaker 3 (34:50):
That's what it appeared, which is good, good news there
all right. Good that makes me happy because I was
gonna be like MJ and Dewan back to back days.

Speaker 2 (34:59):
I forgot about it. Oh no, no, no, I'm.

Speaker 3 (35:01):
Gonna have to start not liking anybody.

Speaker 2 (35:02):
Yeah, that was. That was one of those ones that
when I saw it this morning and I was doing
my morning thing and I saw Cart and went, oh
my god.

Speaker 3 (35:10):
And that just so you know, he was driven off
as he sat in the passenger seat of the cart
with a towel on his head.

Speaker 2 (35:16):
Like, and there were there were responsible people. The people
on the beat were responsible with that, and they pointed
that out. But still when you hear player cart, you go,
my god, what is going on? Our pet's heads are
falling off? And then and then all of a sudden
Then within an hour or so. I don't know if
our excellent PR staff or somebody got worded to said, hey,

(35:36):
it's eat Yeah.

Speaker 3 (35:37):
I just wanted to make sure you know it wasn't
just a dislocated toe or anything. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (35:41):
Yeah, So that's the way that it goes on that.
Two of the things I want to ask you about
the full context stuff. Number one, how did Mason Graham
look in a full pad, full contact situation.

Speaker 3 (35:51):
He looks very good. He's crafty as a pass rusher,
he is physical at the point of attack, his he
is very quick on his get off, and I think
that this defense which we talked about is going to
suit his skills incredibly well. There is a great deal
of excitement about Mason Graham. There's espn to the thing
recently where it looked at the team's talent under the

(36:11):
age of twenty five, and it was not kind on
the Cleveland Browns. No, I remind people that that's called
not having a first round pick for three years and
not having a second round pick in two of those
three years. That's where those guys typically come, you know. Well,
and it said day Brown's had one blue chip player
surprise prize the one blue chip player they said that
age was Mason Graham. So he has been disruptive. He

(36:32):
looks strong and fast, which is a very good combination.
I think if you are at that position and I
can't wait to see my call get out. I have
not seen my call obviously on the field yet I
have seen him in the weight room and he looks
to be in tremendous condition.

Speaker 4 (36:49):
All right.

Speaker 2 (36:49):
Last thing we have to discuss, say, with the full
contact was the quarterbacks. What was the rotation like? How
did they look?

Speaker 3 (36:55):
So Flacco's got the start here and then you got
Dylan and Chador the quarterbacks today. So what I've noticed
this is my takeaway. Chador had I thought it made
some very nice throws. Again today he continues to do that.
He had a couple of balls that hung a little
bit on verticals that were a little underthrown, and I'm

(37:15):
sure he would want to have those back. Dylan, when
the pocket is moved or when he has a clear
throwing lane, is very good. The ball is where it
needs to be. He's got good actorcy. Obviously we talked
about his arm is He's got a very good arm
as well. When he is in the pocket, and there

(37:36):
are times where we're fifteen twenty yards down the field
and like I can't see him and I know he's
throwing it like in our direction. So he's missed some
of those high and now he's played big time college football,
he's had big humans in front of him. But I mean,
I think at the end of it's always just a
little different level. Like Ethan Posik at six' five IS
i would wager the biggest center he's ever played in his,

(38:01):
Career and SO i think that that is something you
know where you're gonna have to be really good with
your blocking and your pockets to make sure that the
throwing lanes are, there because when he missing high in
the middle of the field is a recipe for.

Speaker 2 (38:19):
Disaster it's a little, bit you, know it's a little
bit like he's not his fleet a, foot but he's
got plenty of. Elusiveness it's a little bit like The
kyler With arizona su And kyler is at his best
In arizona when the pocket moves and it floats and
he's on the perimeter with kind OF rpo. Action, yes
a lot of times what you'll, see but that's when

(38:42):
he's at his best and when he gets out, there
HE'S i, mean that's What dylan looks. Like When dylan
gets out the ball comes out, fast, hard, accurate all
of those. Things it's just you you almost have to
if my hunch would be, that you'd almost have to
design the offense specifically around owned that skill.

Speaker 3 (39:01):
Set, YEAH i.

Speaker 2 (39:02):
Don't it doesn't feel like to go From joe to
him If joe ends up winning the job would be
a wildly different.

Speaker 3 (39:10):
Proposition, Yeah and some of the things they're, using and
they do do this With joe, too but to kind
of move the pocket as they do kind of a
run action where it looks, like you, know it's a
play action and they pull the, guard but the guard's
actually pulling to move the pocket and give him some
throwing lanes. Up probably the biggest play that he had
in this was a tight end screen To Harold fannon
who caught it around the forty two and got down

(39:31):
inside the five yard line And harold fannin again the
knees are. Not he's not will never be confused For
Roger craig running the football for the for the old
people that are watching the program right, now who had
notoriously high, knees but he is very effective in the open.
Field and it's INTERESTING i remember pointing this out to
H i think it was The stefanski that When David
adjoku was drafted by The browns out of THE u

(39:54):
he led the nation for tight ends and yards after
the catch per, reception And Harold fannin last year did
the same and in total yak for tight ends obviously
in division ie in THE. Fbs so that's a trait
and that allows for plays that are not necessarily long

(40:17):
throws to become chunk. Plays and when you have people
that can get that yak or that, rack depending on
how you call, it that is that's very. Good Harold
fannin very good at. That but you, know just Watching
dylan when he on the, boots when he gets out
of the, pocket very. Effective and actually the next play
after the big one To fan and he boots, left
Hits Gage larvadan who, weaves gets through a couple of,

(40:40):
tackles house, touchdown gives a little dion at the, end
give a little time into the end. Zone But Tonio
judy all of them down the, sideline cheering them. On
so that was that was very. Cool that was probably
those back to back were probably the two best plays
of that.

Speaker 2 (40:55):
Period one other thing of them give you just. Mentioned
in terms of the, roster The browns have signed Center Bucky.
Williams in, addition the team has waves Center Brady. Latham
williams is entering a SECOND nfl season out Of Appalachian.
State originally signed by The chargers in an undrafted free
agent in twenty twenty, four spent his rookie season on injured.
Reserves so there you go on.

Speaker 3 (41:17):
That, yeah and just want to touch real quick on
Shador in this live period had one where he was
able to get out of the pocket and he did
get out of the pocket, clean moved around and then
Found Keshawn johnson for about a thirty yard, game which
was a beautiful throw on the run to the. Right
so that was obviously very good to see him do
that as. Well so all the quarterbacks had some very

(41:39):
nice plays in that. Period you're going to hear from the.
Quarterbacks we're gonna go to the podium coming up. Next

(42:31):
let's start with the. Quarterbacks and this one is from last.
Week this is On this Is Joe flacco from the
podium and his determination to win the starting.

Speaker 4 (42:40):
Job it's tough to look at it that.

Speaker 5 (42:42):
WAY i, Mean i'm as determined as ever to just
be the best quarterback THAT i could. Be it's so
easy to AND i do. It i'm guilty of. It
it's so easy to like look ahead and like picture
yourself as the starter and hearing that news and things like.
That BUT i really like second day, camp you. KNOW
i think the best thing for me is to just
stay in the moment and come out here and have

(43:04):
fun and like compete and just do WHAT i love to.
DO i think that's going to be the best way
for me to show WHAT i can do and all that.
Stuff SO i think there's a lot of self motivation
in order to be good at this in this, league
and that's always. There So i'm just going to continue
to approach it LIKE i always.

Speaker 2 (43:20):
Do do you think that there Is do you think
previous to this injury there was Anything joe could do
to win the job or Did kenny have to lose?
It does that make?

Speaker 3 (43:29):
SENSE i think that if he was head and shoulders
above everybody, else certainly that he could win the. JOB
i still think ultimately the sense when you take. It
so that's like the recranular, view which is like what
would be our best chance maybe to win week one
or what is OUR i think from the you know
thirty thousand feet and you look at this, organization you

(43:51):
hear the words of you, know ownership and coaches as,
well like absolutely we need to see the young. GUYS
i think you're you're looking for a solution And Joe
flacco offers you potentially right like a magical. Run we saw,
That but you, know seventeen. Games we have not seen
him play seventeen games and quite some. Time i'm not

(44:12):
opposed to seeing. IT i just think that it would
have to be a case of it's so clear that
it would be disingenuous to the locker room that you
win in any other. Direction the REASON i, ASKED i
still think it's, both THOUGH i still think, yes he
can win, it but yes it is it Is kenny's
job to.

Speaker 2 (44:27):
Lose, yeah it just would be very difficult for him
to do. Enough in the limited stuff that he's. Doing
you'd basically be, saying, like It's Joe, Flacco, like what
are we?

Speaker 3 (44:35):
Doing Chill.

Speaker 2 (44:36):
Flacco he's the, guy, like let's go like in terms
of what's actually happening in the, practice especially Before kenny got,
hurt he just wasn't given a whole. Lot and we've
kind of laid out for you guys throughout all. Summer all,
right let's hear from the two. Rookies here Is Dylan
gabriel on how he views this quarterback.

Speaker 8 (44:51):
Competition i've told you multiple times HOW i view competitions
being myself, yesterday you, know and how CAN i be
better THAN i was? Yesterday AND i think when you
have that, focus it's gonna make everyone. Better it's gonna
make your team, better it's gonna make our run. Better
and that's ALL i can do is control WHAT i can,
control and anytime you think outside of, that you're not

(45:12):
serving the.

Speaker 2 (45:12):
Moment Shadoor sanders has certainly had a lot of wild
plays here early on in. Camp he was asked Last
friday how this experience has been nothing like anything he
has seen.

Speaker 7 (45:23):
Before i'll, say it's different phases in, life different things
in life you have to go, through you, know and
that's that's all it. Is i'll say for, me it's building,
blocks you know SOMETIMES i always always had to get
overly prepared and how to worry about a lot of
different things just from my use to high school to,
college AND i never had a chance To i'll, say

(45:46):
sit back and learn more in depth of. EVERYTHING i
was always thrown in the fire AND i always exceeded.

Speaker 2 (45:52):
Expectations more From schudor here's on how this experience has,
been or rather how he views the competition at.

Speaker 7 (46:02):
Quarterback i'm focused on doing. Me i'm focused on learn
WHAT i need to. Learn simply it are you thinking
about winning that?

Speaker 4 (46:09):
Job for a week.

Speaker 6 (46:10):
ONE i don't.

Speaker 7 (46:10):
THINK i don't think nobody in this organization is here
if they're not trying to. Win, HONESTLY i think you
know they're trying to win to who gives out the
best water and gatorades out. Here so it's definitely a.
Competition everything in, life it's so many cameras out, here
is definitely a competition with content obviously. Too SO i
think everything in life boils down the.

Speaker 2 (46:31):
Competition when you get To carolina next, week what do
you anticipate that looking like when it's our offense versus
their defense in terms of who, plays who, goes how, Much.

Speaker 3 (46:48):
That'll be kind of the biggest. Peak so, Like i'm
just Gonna i'm right. Now i'm gonna operate under the following,
assumption and that is The Kenny pickett returns the Practice.
Friday okay, There if that, HAPPENS i think you're gonna
See Kenny pickett with the. ONES i think you're gonna
See flaco get some time with the. ONES i think
you'll probably See Dylan gabriel even get some time with the.
ONES i think That, shadoor you, know will GET I

(47:11):
I i want him to get time with the. ONES
i want to see. THAT i think we need to see.
That otherwise it's then we would, know we'd be able
to say that it's a three quarterback competition and not
a four until he starts to get. Those SO i
think he has earned. THEM i think he every day
makes incredibly high level. THROWS i think he's earned. It

(47:32):
i'd like to see. IT i don't know if he we,
will BUT i think if it's that's the, CASE i
think you're gonna see a lot Of. PICKET i think
you'd probably see a lot Of, gabriel AND i think
you'd see Some. Flacco If pickett is not, BACK i
think it's probably gonna Be Flacko gabriel and then hopefully
should do against them. AGAIN i AM i will bang the.
DRUM i think that you see. It it is very
apparent in terms of the plays that he, makes AND

(47:53):
i think it's very apparent in terms of the way
that the players respond to him that he has something
to him that could be quite useful at this level
in The National Football.

Speaker 2 (48:02):
League, well then anything about that preseason opener or That
friday Against, Carolina and you, say is that a situation
Where dylan gets the first half shoot or gets the.
SECOND i don't see either of the two.

Speaker 3 (48:12):
Veterans quite, FRANKLY i don't know about that BECAUSE i
don't Think kenny is at that level. YET i think
With Joe flacco could be ready to go. ABSOLUTELY i
don't Think, kenny being new, here new to the, SYSTEM
i don't think he's at that level. Yet so in my,
mind you, KNOW i kind of want if you have
three preseason, games WHAT i would like to see is this,
again this is me just, talking so you, know either

(48:35):
the first or the, third depending on you, know how
you see, it but That kenny starts AND i think
If kenny's like the, starter maybe it's in the third.
One kenny starts and he goes in and comes, out
does the first drive of the second, half so he
has that experience and then you shut that down and
then the other. ONES i would. WANT i Want dylan
to start a, game AND i Want shador to start a,

(48:55):
game and they, can you, know alternate with the two of. Them,
joe if he, WANTS i would give him reps and be,
like you want, reps then you get. Reps if he,
does if he is, like you, Know i'm, good then
he Wouldn't you wouldn't need to see him to me
in the preseason. Games BUT i look at come from
at the standpoint, of you, know, okay if and If

(49:18):
kenny hasn't locked it down and you're like leaning Towards,
joe Then joe starts the last preseason. Game you know
WHAT i, mean.

Speaker 2 (49:26):
It's you get the two joint. PRACTICES i, mean you
have a lot Of Rep. Philly you're gonna get a
lot of work for, sure but.

Speaker 3 (49:32):
You need the quarterbacks still need to be, hit and
there's risks that comes with, that but you need to
be hit to be able TO i, think to be
ready to go silver silver, footballs and by, man the
story warms my. HEART i said the other, DAY i

(49:54):
actually Thought luca was looking like boots and. Shoes how
could that? Be because he's my spirit.

Speaker 2 (49:58):
ANIMAL I i love to fight a Young bootsy.

Speaker 3 (50:02):
Pick so WHEN i get him in the in the, shower,
YEAH i have the like the handheld thing That i'm
able to get like a nice little like part and
he's got kind of the his eyes remind me Of
bootsy That i'm, like he looks just like a Little
Bootsy and she's like that doesn't make. Sense they share
no joy, said, well share a.

Speaker 2 (50:17):
Spirit they do share a, spirit. Certainly all, right there you,
go all right on the other, side we'll do the
second hour this. Program sinecilliani will join us school around The,
LEAGUE z goes one on one With Grant.

Speaker 3 (50:28):
Delpit CAN i just say you can say any, like
not only is it especially joyous to be with you
as it always, is it's especially joyce to be with
you in air. Conditioning no gnats LIKE i feel like right,
now yesterday was. TOUGH i don't. KNOW i think there
was a great, philosopher Warrior Stevie janawski and Say i'm
ten feet tall and. Bulletproof that's HOW i feel right.

(50:50):
Now so get it.

Speaker 9 (50:51):
Told that the gnats is not a radio row. Problem
it is a full field.

Speaker 3 (50:57):
Problem that doesn't sound. Fun doesn't surprise, me, Dude, yeah
they know it's because of the rain and the.

Speaker 9 (51:03):
Humidity that is JUST i, mean and they're they're spraying,
sure yeah and.

Speaker 2 (51:09):
Nothing, no they were formidable. Yesterday, yeah they really were.

Speaker 3 (51:13):
That.

Speaker 9 (51:14):
Yeah mister uh the man who would, know Mister, frayne
said that there was a significant problem during.

Speaker 3 (51:19):
Practice, yeah so give me it was is frame the
one who knighted you and deputized.

Speaker 9 (51:24):
You uh he gave the Final, okay, wow it went
up the food chains and.

Speaker 3 (51:29):
It is a great. Accomplishment Who, so who did the
actual Deputizing.

Speaker 9 (51:35):
It might be the person that looks exactly like me in.

Speaker 3 (51:37):
This SO i, HEARD i heard a theory That i'll
share with you off air about this.

Speaker 2 (51:42):
Confirm i'm very interest in. That BUT i WHAT i
also would like IS i would like, it you, know
an old school like. Nighting, YES i would Like it's
like you may rise as a member.

Speaker 9 (51:53):
Of the hes got a command and put my hand
on The bible and.

Speaker 3 (51:57):
Swearing it's Like. Gladiator When maximus Desmis meridius Asked proximo
or he says To, proximo you Knew Marcus, Aurelius and
he gets very upset and he, said, YEAH i did
not SAY i knew. HIM i said he touched me
on the shoulder.

Speaker 2 (52:10):
Once that's what we need right. There all, right we'll

puts some work.

Speaker 6 (53:07):
Here how was your?

Speaker 10 (53:08):
Summer it was, good you, know did WHAT i could with.
It you, know travel a little. Bit where's your fair
place you? Went favorite PLACE i? WENT i don't know
outside THE. US i went To paris In. London who
like Doing europe? Trips have you been To italy?

Speaker 3 (53:27):
Yet?

Speaker 6 (53:28):
NO i. Haven't italy?

Speaker 3 (53:29):
Good And. Croatia croatia is. Amazing.

Speaker 6 (53:32):
Croatia, yeah oh, yeah that's my first TIME i heard that.

Speaker 3 (53:34):
One, yeah that's where that's my. Homeland oh, yeah, yeah,
correct it's. Great lots of little. Islands i'll take care of.
YOU i did. It we did it for our. Honeymoon.
Yeah the, best like, phenomenal great, people great, food beautiful.
Coasts it's similar to grease in that, respect, Right adriatic right,
there all see the world people exactly what we're here,

(53:55):
for exactly all, Right so you guys get back in.
Here you've kind of gone through the ramp. Up pads
are going to come on. Today you know what's kind
of been your mindset is you've kind of seen you,
know getting back into it and getting ready to really
roll now and get the pads on.

Speaker 10 (54:07):
It, yeah now we got the opportunity to you, know
create a little bit more, violence nothing, crazy but get
back to actually playing. Football it's been a lot of you,
know just mirror mirror stuff with OTAs and and michell's
on the helmets and stuff like. That but now we
get to you, know pop the paths a little. Bit, so,

(54:28):
uh just introduce ourselves to these guys a little.

Speaker 6 (54:31):
Bit that's.

Speaker 3 (54:31):
It you guys have been introducing yourself to the. Offense
at least on the last day before we took the
breaks out have Been. Saturday they got some momentum. Going
but it feels like this defensive front is relentless in
the past rush and then you guys on the back
end are locking people.

Speaker 10 (54:45):
Down, YEAH i, mean, hey we're whooping them right now,
now just playing Get we're getting good work. In it's
going both. Ways by the end of the. Day we're
here to make each other, better you. Know so we
got the BEST i feel like we got the one
of the, well we got the BEST d. Line well
a lot to do with ninety, five that's. Right we
got a very competitive defense. Man SO i think that's

(55:08):
the best thing that offense offense can see and it's
gonna be well forming a long.

Speaker 3 (55:13):
Run it's been fun to, watch and you guys are
definitely very, animated even early in training, camp getting up,
there everybody cheering for, everybody and it just feels, like you,
know this defense the, waves especially up. Front but you,
guys when you's there's a lot of depth there, Now
yeah it.

Speaker 6 (55:27):
IS i, mean guys been here for some years, now
the same.

Speaker 10 (55:29):
Defense new guys coming, in you, know we're getting those
guys on, strong got guys like rookies Like Carson man
coming in and really just implementing himself. Early you, know
he's he's gonna need To, yeah he's A West coast,
KID u c L.

Speaker 6 (55:44):
A so he's, smart smart as. Hell he's doing magic.

Speaker 10 (55:47):
TRICKS i think that you, know he's gonna catch on,
well and he's very, direct and it's, uh you, know
being being the. Micing you, know he's learning all through.
Positions so de bush my move to those guys learned
all three positions at the back of the. SPOT i
think that's gonna be real important to. Watch and of,
course you Know DB's we won't. Change you, know we
got the same same guys and we're still thugging that.

Speaker 3 (56:10):
Up How's Rocket hitman, doing because this is good a
big opportunity for him, obviously how to really step in
and be the guy alongside you on that back?

Speaker 6 (56:17):
End, YEAH i mean you have three going there for.

Speaker 10 (56:18):
HIM i think that he's pretty much seen everything it
is to, See so this is that that year that
he takes that step and really solidifies his name and.

Speaker 3 (56:28):
Defense your room's had some change with some veterans coming
In Rayshawn jenkins Amante. Kz what's it been like playing
with some guys who have, been you, know in other
places and now are able to bring kind of something
that knowledge in with.

Speaker 10 (56:38):
YOU i mean usually you see kind of like a drop,
off you know when it comes to like you, know
second and third in the depth chart and stuff like.

Speaker 6 (56:44):
That but, them, guys it's.

Speaker 10 (56:45):
Not it's a very heated competition right now in the safety,
room and it's something that, uh you, know we take for,
pride like you, know when not. Going it's no drop
off from when the. Starters it shouldn't look no. Different
so the shout out to those. Guys they keep pushing
us and we're gonna make them better. Too and they're
catching on very quickly as.

Speaker 3 (57:02):
Well guy's seen out there a lot with, you And
i've heard coach bond to talk about. Him Is Chris. Edmonds,
yeah it seems like he's really had a great off
season AND hopeu we'll see if that can.

Speaker 6 (57:11):
Continue Roman, Harper Roma.

Speaker 4 (57:13):
Harper.

Speaker 10 (57:14):
Yeah The, saints, hey, man say you looking Like Roma
harp out there at forty. One so he keep on
keep on. Improving, man when he first got, here we
joke about. It he just didn't look good at, all you,
know the first couple of.

Speaker 6 (57:25):
Weeks but now it's he's just like a, season you,
know a guy that he.

Speaker 3 (57:28):
Knows ro har is playing with the gray. Hairs, man
come on like me with the.

Speaker 10 (57:33):
ROOF i was a taste fan back to the. Day
SO i know pretty much all all the Old saint,
guys but shout Of Chris. Man he's coming on a long,
well y'all need to watch out for.

Speaker 3 (57:42):
Him what's your guys kind of? Mentality this is obviously
mentioned the dog. Days we got The Alpha. Dogs now
we got those new brown uniforms THAT i think look
pretty good with the. Brown how would you think those.

Speaker 6 (57:51):
They said we went three?

Speaker 10 (57:52):
Times, yeah, yeah many at the end of the. Day,
uh not a lot of people can make brown look.
Good but, hey we could do, it you, know especially
somebody like, Me Like i'm Gonna i'm gonna get it.
Done just pa attention to my swagging him on the.
Field i've been around the. Ball so y'all check out
the new brown. Helmets it's. Different have we ever had

(58:13):
never had brown? Helmets so it's not like a traditional. Thing,
no this Is, YEAH i was one where that came.
From but, hey it's gonna be the brown, out the brown?
Out can we get brown in the? Stands do we
have orange? Seas we do have orange, seeds so we're
gonna need.

Speaker 6 (58:29):
Brown brown out and we could do.

Speaker 3 (58:31):
It crazy the veteran, now, nah like does it feel
like it's gone, Quickly, yeah.

Speaker 10 (58:39):
It, has especially when they play a whole, year so mm,
hmm it's going on, quickly.

Speaker 6 (58:44):
Man so you, know.

Speaker 10 (58:48):
Probably like halfway, there you, know as far as you
got were you don't play this game. Forever you, KNOW
i will never lie to. Myself so that's WHY i
kind of take every, year never take it for. Granted
but it's going by flying by. Man so you really
got to make a, name you, know for yourself and
really succeed and win in this.

Speaker 6 (59:07):
League and it's something that we haven't done. Yet so
the time is.

Speaker 3 (59:11):
Now time is. Now AND i see that you've accepted
kind of like the fact that you're a leader on this.
Team it's just obvious being around, you the way you
lead by, example also being vocal about. It is. THAT
i feel like that's always been your. PERSONALITY i mean
when you watch you on AT, lsu that's what jumped
off the screen number seven. There what's that kind of
been like and how have you kind of evolved into that?

Speaker 10 (59:29):
Role, YEAH i mean everybody probably lead in different. Ways
people grow into. Roles you see rookies coming right away
and be that. Guy but you, know it's just like
how you are as an individual, person you, know, whatever
it's no correct answer how to. Lead but once you
see guys gravitating towards you're just play style and type of,

(59:52):
person you know you really got to take that and
run with it and you, know really elevate the.

Speaker 3 (59:56):
Group and you certainly are doing. That what's it? Like
you mentioned young guys coming and then we got a
young guy who's gonna get talk With berniekozar over, There Dylan.
Gabriel what's feel like going against four? Quarterbacks that's a
kind of a that's a new that's a new. Thing
what's Happened, like it's.

Speaker 10 (01:00:08):
Kind of like just pick your, Poison, Rice let's uh
kind of try to get to know the tendencies of,
guys but when they all rotate like, that it's kind
of difficult to. Do, so, uh you, know we're just
trying to get those guys good.

Speaker 6 (01:00:20):
Looks.

Speaker 10 (01:00:20):
Man so at the end of the, day when it's
a heating competition and you, know we're just trying to
make everybody.

Speaker 3 (01:00:24):
Better how excited is? Everybody get the pads on?

Speaker 6 (01:00:26):
It, YEAH i think you'll see. Today you'll see.

Speaker 3 (01:00:29):
Today all, Right, GRANT i always appreciate the TIME i
can't wait to see it get going this season and,
uh let's go.

Speaker 6 (01:00:35):

Browns as we go around the, League Trey hendrickson did
report To bengals camp. Today his holdout is now a hold.
In so we saw this last year with them With
Jamar chase and now will Be. Hendrickson hendrickson. Is he

(01:01:56):
talked to the media today as. Well Joe burrow talked about.
It burrow, said, look grand a day adds up pretty,
quickly And i'm guessing that that's what it's. About it
seems like they're sole does that a wide gap between
What Trey hendrickson wants and what The bengals want to pay.
Him But i've been saying this for the longest, Time
like It's july. Thirtieth he's a veteran defensive. End, like

(01:02:18):
how much work does he need in a couple of
weeks he'll Be it probably be. Fine like if we
get to from The bengals, perspective if you get To
august thirtieth and you don't and we're still in, this
then it might be a. Thing but right, NOW i
just don't think it's.

Speaker 3 (01:02:32):
ANYTHING i just go ahead and let it go till
like week, two good time to bring. You Mid week
two be perfect time to.

Speaker 2 (01:02:38):
Bring, yeah if they somehow pull this off where they
get their first round defensive end In hendrickson comes, back
and they Kept Chase higgins and obviously they Kept burrow
the previous, year be a hell of an off season
to pull that all. Off if they can do.

Speaker 3 (01:02:55):
It it's pretty. Good, yeah but they you, know it's.
Crazy when we were talking With joe right. There, Right
so they haven't made the playoffs in two, seasons is that?
Right didn't they make it in twenty? Three he got,
hurt didn't He that was when he got hurt with the.

(01:03:17):
Wrist the oh you're, right you're.

Speaker 2 (01:03:19):
Right so it was twenty, two, yeah, yeah because he
went out in twenty, three is that?

Speaker 3 (01:03:24):
Right, yeah he did get.

Speaker 4 (01:03:26):
Hurt G man is shaking his. Head, Yes so.

Speaker 3 (01:03:29):
That's that's pretty. WILD i don't know that they've Done
Jake browning.

Speaker 2 (01:03:33):
Season, yes that's ended with, us that's right. Down they
had the postseason in Three this will be two years
without the, postseason which is. Unfathomable, yeah with that, WEAPONRY
i just don't know if they've done enough for their.

Speaker 3 (01:03:47):
Events but they're certainly in the. Mix LIKE i WOULD
i have them as a playoff. Team, yeah, YEAH i
mean they're going to Be they're going to be formidable
and quite.

Speaker 2 (01:03:57):
TOUGH i, mean if they don't lose the opener of
The New England patriots last, year they make the playoffs
last year and nobody would have wanted to play. Him
so it's like anything that football's fleeting, man and anything
can happen on any given. Moment but as they stand right,
now you, know to, me they remind me of the you,
know the Eighties, dolphins where, hey we'll try and outscore
you and see what, happens and we'll sling it all

(01:04:18):
over the. Place they LOST i think five games last
year where they had scored thirty three or more four
three or four or.

Speaker 4 (01:04:25):
Five something like.

Speaker 2 (01:04:26):
That so, yeah they only really had one loss last
year where they scored less than three, touchdowns and that's
When philly bounded them In. Cincinnati other than, that they
were into the mid twenties or better in every one
of their. Losses so other than that opener with The.
Patriots a couple other things around the. Division raven's tight
End Isaiah likely is having surgery this week to fixate
broken bone in his. Foot the belief is he'll be

(01:04:47):
Without he will be out for about six. Weeks Per
Ian rappaport back down In, cincinnati they cut veteran running
Back Zach moss off the team as. WELL a couple
other things around the. League The seahawks have extended general
Manager John. Schneider he's now tied to the team until twenty.
Thirty we do also have our rookie ratings out For
madden twenty. Six we talked about the ninety nine, Club

(01:05:09):
miles in the ninety nine, Club Jamar chase in the
ninety nine, club, Obviously Lamar jackson in the ninety nine.
Club we had three in the. Division, yeah in the
a loaded. Division loaded. Division, yeah our division is. Loaded
THE Nfc north is. Loaded and then now we're hearing
people who are we talking? To Steve yesterday he wanted

(01:05:29):
to GO Afc. West, hey, hey, right come on, on, hey,
hey come, On, steve come, on come. On, NO i.
Can't they're not there. Yet i'm not crown In denver.
Yet same, then nice, year, solid nice, year by the,
Way no reason to crown The chargers. Either what have
they done to this? Point they look like they're doing

(01:05:51):
the right. Things, yes and it feels like after a
year where they kind of put the emphasis of other,
places they've done some things to Give herbert a, hand
but they have done nothing in the. Postseason this Is
they are not The Baltimore. Ravens they are not The
Pittsburgh steelers OR us in the last couple of, years Or.
Cincinnati so we'll. See but, NO i think IT'S i

(01:06:13):
think it's the Two norse or the two that you
look at and you JUST i mean THE Nfc. NORTH
i think you could walk into every you could walk
into every one of those, rooms every one of those,
buildings and say we plan on winning the. Division.

Speaker 3 (01:06:28):
Yeah, yeah that's WHY i like. THAT i, mean and
you're seeing a lot of buzz come out Of chicago
obviously to that. Effect, YEAH i, mean what shame buzz? ON.
Jj you know WHAT.

Speaker 2 (01:06:42):
I saw yesterday AND i think it was a voice
SWAP ai.

Speaker 3 (01:06:46):
Thing but did you see?

Speaker 8 (01:06:48):
This?

Speaker 3 (01:06:48):
Man do you know What i'm talking?

Speaker 6 (01:06:49):
About?

Speaker 2 (01:06:49):
THIS i know it wasn't, either but What i'm saying
you will know, that AND i know, that but my
kids had no. Idea so if you haven't seen, this
there's a clip that was going around the stay OF
dj were sitting, DOWN i don't know with the local
some local radio station In, chicago and what comes out
of the mouth on the video is him, saying, well

(01:07:10):
we've made. Him, Essentially i'm, paraphrasing we made a. Mistake
Ben johnson doesn't know what the heck he's. Doing blah
blah blah blah. Blah and the voice match is it's
you could. Tell but if you're watching casually and it
was just. UP i don't. Know, no you wouldn't think
anything of. It, yeah it's a terrifying, time absolutely terrifying
trying to decipher what's real and what's not.

Speaker 3 (01:07:32):
Agreed and that is going to be a problem for
a great many things going. Forward sure, anxiety yes about.

Speaker 2 (01:07:40):
IT i had mentioned the matting. Ratings Mason graham is
the fourth highest rated rookie in the, game with an eighty.
OVERALL i always find this interesting when Cam ward went number,
one but he's a seventy one, overall And mason went
four and he's an eighty. Overall Travis hunter was the highest.
Rated he was an eighty four. Overall Ashton gent he
was an eighty three overall On. MADDEN I i continue

(01:08:04):
to think that it's this is the first year that
my kids haven't asked For madden at.

Speaker 3 (01:08:07):
ALL i know you said, that which is.

Speaker 2 (01:08:08):
Wild. YEAH i just think that game needs like a complete.
OVERHAUL i just think it needs almost a. Reset shook
would know if they've done anything on those, fronts because
he's like The madden, officiot the ficionado around. Here BUT
i think last YEAR i played that game for four.
Plays we bought it in like the bundle with THE ncaa,
game the deal that they give. YOU i played four,
Plays i'm, like, Yeah i'm. GOOD i DON'T i don't

(01:08:29):
need to ever play this. Again it just was no.

Speaker 4 (01:08:31):
Fun.

Speaker 3 (01:08:31):
Yeah the other, ONE i agree it. Is it definitely
seems the college seems more. FUN nfl is THE, nfl
and it's. Great AND i think that if obviously people
young the, utes if The browns were you, know THE
tv checking in at ninety two and it was fun
to go, play that you probably could have more a little.
INTEREST i mean your. Kids they're two main teams from

(01:08:55):
a football. Standpoint. Yeah are the buck guys who are
going to be the best team in that, game defending
national Champions, Yeah Jeremih smith and are probably super fun
to play. Within The, browns who you, know have some
superstars for, sure but don't necessarily have you, know some
of the things that other. Teams.

Speaker 2 (01:09:09):
NO i also think that the gameplay just is really
brutal On. MADDEN i don't think they've ever gotten it
fixed in terms of the throwing of the football and
being realistic with drops and those type of. Things like
the college game gets that, Right like there's drops in
The madden. Game they still haven't in my, view they
haven't the GAME i played last year AND i. DON'T
i don't even know if this one's dropped.

Speaker 4 (01:09:29):
Yet is it out?

Speaker 2 (01:09:29):
Yet G?

Speaker 3 (01:09:29):
Man not?

PARIS i know people Talk, Paris New, york L. A.

Speaker 12 (01:12:03):
Whatever barcelona is my favorite town for that As, yes.

Speaker 3 (01:12:08):
Yeah Absolutely.

Speaker 2 (01:12:10):
Barcelona what is?

Speaker 11 (01:12:11):
He what IS i Can't Arsenal, Arsenal.

Speaker 12 (01:12:17):
ARSENAL i think Placed saturday, night, Right, Gabe, yeah, guys
you gotta work on. That the two tickets you gotta
work on this, Year Arsenal saturday before The Browns vikings
and THEN f one the night before the game In.
Vegas talking about a scheduling.

Speaker 11 (01:12:35):
Nightmare there a traffic. Nightmare?

Speaker 2 (01:12:39):
Really oh he LOVES f one yeah. Really remember we
had that crazy card BUSINESS i was telling you. About
he sold like thousands of dollars worth of how's that
going trading. Cards one of the things he bought was
like a racing simulator that's upstairs and like their common
area and like he RACES f one with the it's
got the seat and the steering wheel in the.

Speaker 3 (01:12:57):
Shifter, oh my Cousin danny Has LIKE i was, like whoa,
dude good job to. YOU i guess one that is
let's call the drivers Use, yeah that has Been that
is his. It you can pull g's in. It it's
all ON. Hydraulx it's in a full cage.

Speaker 2 (01:13:11):
Wound he didn't sell that many.

Speaker 3 (01:13:13):
Cards, no he did a lot of awesome, Lawyering.

Speaker 2 (01:13:16):
That's What i'm. SAYING nbc didn't sell enough cards for.
That but it's a nice little setup for a thirteen Years.
Wine when we went to THE f one, movie which
was his big thing that he wanted to, LOVE i
thought it was a. Base it was so much fun
and and then he was like looking at the, Calendar he's, Like,
dad we're In.

Speaker 12 (01:13:32):
Vegas that's some odds, scheduling by the, way logistically, right logistically,
yeah because how did that go last year when they
were out?

Speaker 3 (01:13:39):
There?

Speaker 12 (01:13:40):
Oh you talk to the people on the, strip like
you talk to people that work In vegas on the
strip in any, capacity they hate, it absolutely hate it
because you can't get down.

Speaker 11 (01:13:51):
There it just like, yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:13:54):
That, Night I'M i will eat in my. Hotel yeah
night like.

Speaker 11 (01:13:57):
That that's a door dash.

Speaker 3 (01:13:59):
Night we will walk through the casino only to get.

Speaker 4 (01:14:02):
To only to get To.

Speaker 12 (01:14:03):
Yeah, Absolutely but what what's? Crazy have you been To vegas?
Since like when there is in a, game like.

Speaker 3 (01:14:10):
When you a?

Speaker 2 (01:14:12):
LOT i, know not last, Year I'm i'm probably have
been in the last five.

Speaker 12 (01:14:15):
Years so a lot of the infrastructure they built, permanently
so east of the, strip like on Coval back there
for people to Know vegas, geography there are there's there's grand,
stands there's like, offices there's, pits there's all this stuff
that they just built permanently because that's a multi year
deal so they Can they're going to close down the

(01:14:35):
roads again obviously for the, track but a lot of
that infrastructure is just empty the other eleven and a
half months of the.

Speaker 2 (01:14:42):
Year, wow that's.

Speaker 4 (01:14:44):
Wild what did you?

Speaker 2 (01:14:46):
Make what did you when you got the word that
we were going uh full tackle. TODAY i loved.

Speaker 12 (01:14:50):
IT i got the word about five minutes before it.
Happened is that WHAT i think it? Means and then
you Heard KEVIN i think Was?

Speaker 4 (01:14:57):
KEVIN i?

Speaker 12 (01:14:58):
WAS i was kind of away from, it yelled we're,
live like said it three or four, times like all,
right let's.

Speaker 11 (01:15:04):
GO i think it's, Great like it's it's what you.

Speaker 12 (01:15:06):
Need you need a as you said, Before kallus football
team a tougher, team.

Speaker 11 (01:15:10):
Get through it.

Speaker 12 (01:15:10):
Healthy it prepares you For carolina and the joint, practice
and it prepares you For philadelphia and the joint. Practice
it's a great way to get live reps with both
your veterans and your young, players and especially With kenny out,
like it's a great chance for the young quarterbacks to
get in there and do something.

Speaker 3 (01:15:28):
Real, yeah AND i thought young guys that have kind of,
flashed you, know the whole, time continued to, flash whether
it Be Carson schweessinger coming with a big tackle On
Dylan samson who did a great job bouncing off of
contact and picking up an extra four, yards whether it
Be Gage larvadan who just keeps making, plays And Harold
fannon after the catch on that Little titan. Screen shador

(01:15:48):
had a nice ball To Keishawn. Johnson it was just
kind of everything that you would hope you would see
kind of in that little. Period he saw micro cosm of.
It and there are probably a few Plays miles got
a sack for, sure, right a few plays like, That AS.

Speaker 12 (01:16:00):
I think the the intensity on the field is also
great for team building as. Well so go back to
The Dylan samson hit Like, Nathan you AND i were
standing right there on the sideline for that. Hit the
way the defense reacted right like to celebrate their rookie
linebacker that popped.

Speaker 11 (01:16:16):
Right that was. Awesome and then the way After Lardavans.

Speaker 12 (01:16:19):
TOUCHEDDOUT i don't know if you were, there But bernie
AND i were standing right there in the corner that
it came right at. Us joel helmet, Off Jerry judy
sprinting down the sideline like that.

Speaker 11 (01:16:28):
Can bring a team together like that is a good.

Speaker 12 (01:16:30):
Thing you talk about training camp and the energy and
the building and all that and bonding and you Know
Joe flacco And David joe who are running around town and.
Whatever that go kart thing. Is, YEAH i saw like.
That that's the bonding stuff that's good for a, team
both short term and long. TERM i saw that go
kart come in. Yesterday, YEAH i mean it's more than
a go.

Speaker 11 (01:16:49):
Cart it's a big.

Speaker 2 (01:16:50):
Things, yeah what it. Is it's like a big four
wheeler with a.

Speaker 12 (01:16:54):
CAB i was walking around the building AND i AND
i just heard the music. Blasting i'm, like what in
the world is? That and, yeah the heck is driving
and Then chief posted that. Today oh my, god of.

Speaker 11 (01:17:05):
Course that totally that totally.

Speaker 2 (01:17:07):
Computes, yes there's nothing incognito about it at all, Though
and we got to, talk we got to get framed
to work with him because his parking was lackluster.

Speaker 3 (01:17:14):
Yesterdays it was a vehicle and the prime.

Speaker 2 (01:17:18):
Spots well, yeah you got, it The, chief, Right but
then next to that was somebody, else other big prime spot.
Occupiers and, yeah that was one of the all time
when they finally fire you AND. I i love that
the story when you AND i were having lunch and
guessing cars and license plates and stumbled upon one of the, greats.

Speaker 3 (01:17:41):
The great story off air of our own.

Speaker 11 (01:17:44):
Courd, yeah, yeah, yeah hopefully it's all in.

Speaker 12 (01:17:47):
PLAY i think with any with any, office there's always
a story to be told about somebody taking up too much.

Speaker 11 (01:17:56):
Spots that's too much space in the parking, lot that's for.

Speaker 2 (01:17:59):
Sure we Had Joe flacco in here. Earlier we're you,
know we'll be In carolina a week from Now. Friday
it'll be interesting to see If kenny get gets back out.
There kind of feels like that was maybe the, plan
but we'll. See and and and you had them all
going again today and the, reps and we Asked joe
about the reps and all of, it and there's never,
enough so forth and so. On you've observed for a,

(01:18:19):
week how's this.

Speaker 12 (01:18:20):
Going SO i thought the most telling thing That joe said,
there AND i was watching the, interview was when he's,
like it's easier with. Three And i'm paraphrasing how exactly
he said. It, sure because like it's easier for, three
it's easier on, us it's easier on the, coach but
it's easier on, everybody is the point he. Made AND
i want to stress it not in any way celebrating

(01:18:40):
any player being Unavailable.

Speaker 2 (01:18:44):
Kenny, back but the reality.

Speaker 12 (01:18:46):
Is And i'm speaking for myself in that regard as,
well it's easier with. THREE i would also like to
see whether it's this week or next week rather in
two Weeks kenny get a chance to work against the
team that he played for last year and in The Philadelphia. Eagles,
uh the the longer he's, out the more of a
chance for the other.

Speaker 11 (01:19:03):
Guys at the same, TIME i am curious legitimately to see.

Speaker 12 (01:19:09):
What he Does Kenny, pickett that, is when he gets
into a preseason, game assuming he. DOES i don't want
to make The daniel The Sam darnald or the like
everyone wants to say He's Sam darnald Or Daniel. Jones
Is sam? Darned Daniel, jones by the, way is won
a road playoff?

Speaker 6 (01:19:23):
Game?

Speaker 12 (01:19:23):
Okay Kenny pickett is what's the record a? Starter And
i've said it's ten thousand times in the season like
These these are both quarterbacks who have legitimately made big
plays in won big games in THEIR nfl. Career But
i'm curious actually to see what he can do With,
kevin With Mike, lungrin with a run, game assuming hopefully

(01:19:44):
fingers crossed the run game gets back to what we
have come to know and love.

Speaker 11 (01:19:47):
HERE i want to see.

Speaker 3 (01:19:49):
It.

Speaker 11 (01:19:49):
SO i know people are.

Speaker 12 (01:19:50):
Skeptical, RIGHT i know some people like just give Me
Joe flak or give me one of the. KIDS i
kind of sort of want to see What kenny can.
Do SO i hope we see it So AND i.

Speaker 2 (01:19:57):
Think that's, why, guys you get the Darn old stuff
is because, Look kenny played, It. Pitt he was drafted
by The, steelers, right and so for a lot of
our fan base when there's this predisposed notion of him
based on those two, factors and SO i think that's
where The donald thing comes, from because what you say

(01:20:18):
to people, is, well remember what happened To donald last
year In, minnesota even Though kenny's far more accomplished Than
sam was at that, point and that would happened on the.

Speaker 11 (01:20:26):
Field i'm, sorry that was his fourth, spot fourth stop
For donald on third For.

Speaker 2 (01:20:30):
Kenny and so BUT i guess what it. Is it's, like,
oh that's how it can. Work were there was a
while where we were so quick too when a quarterback,
fell they're done. Yep and now it's like maybe they're.
Not maybe they didn't get a fair, shake maybe a
change in. CIRCUMSTANCES i Think, DONALD i Think bake did
that In tampa for. Sure SO i think that there's

(01:20:54):
it's a way of for to explain to the fan
base of this is kind of what's possible when put
in the right.

Speaker 12 (01:21:00):
Circumstances and For bak it's his fourth, spot fourth stop.

Speaker 11 (01:21:05):
There. Yeah, Right i'm trying to think of quarterbacks back
in the day that did, that Like.

Speaker 12 (01:21:09):
Brad johnson did, It Rich gannon those great years with The.
Raiders obviously that wasn't his first rodeo, there so we've
seen it. Before you've seen a lot these days with
offensive linemen like highly drafted day, one day two offensive
linemen that wash. Out then they go somewhere else and
they get different, coaching better, coaching or just different coaching,
sometimes or maybe the lights just goes on, right different,

(01:21:32):
Scheme like there's so many.

Speaker 3 (01:21:33):
Guys that was like the light in the second. Round
the light.

Speaker 11 (01:21:37):
Goes on and you just when it's the old ten
thousand hours, thing The Malcolm gladwell.

Speaker 1 (01:21:43):
Thing.

Speaker 12 (01:21:43):
Right sometimes you might need that in THE. Nfl but
THE nfl doesn't wait for. You no ever waits for.

Speaker 3 (01:21:49):
Nobody it certainly does. Not and this is AGAIN i
think you talked about. Earlier just the headline to me
is this is. DIFFERENT i don't know what it's going to.
Yield anybody who said that this team isn't going to
be physically ready to. Play this is different this. YEAR
i think that to me is the big headline of
everything we've got here is that this is a team
that is going to have a training camp that is

(01:22:13):
unlike Any Cleveland browns team has had in the last five.

Speaker 11 (01:22:16):
Years the difference in age.

Speaker 12 (01:22:17):
Too you AND i said this before when we're shooting
that thing With bernie Like Joe, flacco AND i don't
know If sampson was in on the very first snap
of when they went live, there but it Was flaca
no no in the run in the. Backfield Will, SAMPSON
i think Was. Sampson you have a forty year old
handing off to a twenty year. Old Dylan sampson doesn't
turn twenty Until week. Two, yeah so you know you

(01:22:39):
have that dynamic here as well as that second Play yeah,
yeah second, play first run, play first run. Play so
LIKE i, AM i am fascinated to see those. Guys
people are fascinated or fixated rather on the quarterbacks a.
Lot this season's, TRAJECTORY i think will be determined in
a lot of ways by all the rookies that are into,

(01:23:00):
quarterbacks By Mason, graham By Harold, fannin By Carson, schwestinger
By Dylan, sampson by that. Group those guys need to,
contribute AND i think they will because they have all
looked the part so far.

Speaker 3 (01:23:15):
And, hopefully you, know as things play themselves. Out Quinn
Shawn judkins is drafted to be a massive part of
what we.

Speaker 2 (01:23:22):
DID i think it also shows you know how Malleable
kevin is.

Speaker 11 (01:23:25):
A good year malleable it's, been it's been drawn into.

Speaker 3 (01:23:31):
Wire you went To.

Speaker 2 (01:23:31):
SYRACUSE i, Didn't BUT i gotta know my. Limitations BUT
i think that the the thing that is THAT i
like about it is this is a guy who last
year changed his offensive scheme to Fit sean and to
make that work in the best way that they. Could
didn't the injury, happen and now we're back to what
he wants to. Do but also if he would have

(01:23:52):
done this in the last couple of years with full
contact in the first, WEEK i don't know THAT i
need to See Nick chubb in. THAT i don't know
THAT i need to See Amari cooper in. THAT i don't,
Know like when you, first, no of course you. Don't,
yeah you didn't need to see To Odell beckham junior
and that Or Jarvis landry and that this is not that.
Team this is a transition year for The Cleveland. Browns
you mentioned this season is going to be defined by

(01:24:13):
the rookies who aren't. Quarterbacks it is we need to
see who of those guys can. Go you talked About
larnavan In, florida those guys, like we need to see
if what they're doing in the first week is it?

Speaker 3 (01:24:25):
Real, Yeah and that's the only way you can do
it is this.

Speaker 2 (01:24:27):
Way this is a very different. Team SO i THINK
i TIP i had To kevin in adjusting who he
is to the roster that he.

Speaker 3 (01:24:33):
Has, Yeah AND i think part of, it to me,
again has something to do with what this schedule is
the way you've got to come Out AND I i
know that it's in, isolation BUT i do think on some,
level right there has to be Some, okay look at
last year when we thought we had this schedule that
you could be helpful to us in the beginning of the,

(01:24:55):
season and you, know you start off one and six
and you lose at home To dallas week, one gain
beat beaten down in every possible, respect give up a
punt return If i'm not, mistaken touchdown in that, one
and you lose thirty three. Seventeen, yes, No i'm waiting
waving To. Yesah then you go and you eque Out.
Jacks will you lose to A giant team you should

(01:25:16):
have beat and you lose to A raiders team you'd
like to say you should have beaten and then you
got destroyed by The. COMMANDERS i just think that there's
something about you, know we tried to do everything we
could to stay. Healthy last, year we still weren't healthy
and we didn't get out of the gate. Well now
we got out of the gate very. Well the year
before twenty twenty, three which was a similar stop. Camp
it was kind of a, weird rainy day that. Day
but you know that maybe that has something to do with.

(01:25:40):
IT i have no, idea BUT i do think that
this is a team that needed to be more physically
tough and more physically, hardened AND i Think Kevin sefanski's
recognized that because we're gonna. Win Joe flagg was sitting
there and, said this is a. Vision we got to
kind of be old, school, Right you've got to be,
tough great, defense run the ball all. That that's our
identity this. Year we are not spread it out and

(01:26:00):
what we try to do with The Shawn watson then.
Work we're not The, ravens we are not The bengals,
Offensively we're not The bills. Offensively we're a team that's
got to run the, football take advantage of opportunities and
not beat.

Speaker 12 (01:26:12):
OURSELVES i think there's also a league wide thing, here
AND i doubt this is coming To kevin's, thinking but
it's spreaded out smaller, linebackers everyone in nickel or. Dime
there's always the there's always the adjustment throughout the. League,
right you want to get back to twelve thirteen and
run the. Football that's how you take advantage of those. Defenses.

(01:26:32):
Right it doesn't work like you, said styles make, fight but,
fights but teams have to have their different.

Speaker 11 (01:26:37):
STYLES i am all for going back to.

Speaker 3 (01:26:39):
That, well another Thing kevin said to, me WHICH i
think is incredibly true about not just twelve, personnel but
just in. General if you try to get a team
into its base, defense, OKAY i would imagine, compensation skill,
level and certainly coverage. Ability the difference between a team's,

(01:27:01):
nickel starting nickel and then their third linebacker is. Massive
that is going to be a massive difference in, Money
it's going to be a massive difference in, skill and
certainly a massive difference in their ability to. Cover and
so if you you want to get that guy on
the field as much as possible and have that nickel
off the field as much as possible real.

Speaker 12 (01:27:20):
QUICK i know this is an off season, conversation but
as you were going through last Year's september And, october,
like which of, those forget The, cowboys.

Speaker 11 (01:27:28):
The cowboys came out or no included if you want,
to which of.

Speaker 4 (01:27:31):
Those was the?

Speaker 11 (01:27:32):
Most how did we lose this?

Speaker 2 (01:27:33):
Game disappointing for?

Speaker 3 (01:27:34):
You probably The, giants, yeah because it just felt and
it was you, know we had a roughing the passer
on a pick in their red. Zone they could have
folded up and gone. Home we, scored you could have
been fourteen to. Nothing they fold up. Shop so that
that was. That and then obviously when The, raiders you
have A marii drop a beautiful, pass it turns into a,
pick then you have the ridiculous hold the whole eighty yard. Touchdown.
Yeah that a lot of, them a lot of. Them

(01:27:56):
but that was part OF i, guess being you, know
a team that beat.

Speaker 12 (01:28:00):
Yourself, yeah like if you if you beat The giants
coming off The jacksonville when you're two and, one everything
and one hundred percent, different Even philly to.

Speaker 11 (01:28:08):
Like, Philly.

Speaker 12 (01:28:09):
Philadelphia And i'll be honest with, YOU i was, LIKE
i don't think they're that good, like that's not a Super.

Speaker 3 (01:28:15):
Bowl and they went after.

Speaker 12 (01:28:16):
That and THEN i saw them on That sunday night
game later in L a against The, rams and they
didn't just punch them in the. Mouth they punched them
in the mouth and then punched them when they're on
the ground and then stood over them and made fun of.
Them AND i was, like this is a different team
than what we, saw much different.

Speaker 11 (01:28:32):
Team you guys are, Done you're.

Speaker 3 (01:28:33):
Done, yeah we gotta.

Speaker 11 (01:28:34):
Go to, basically sorry so.

Speaker 1 (01:28:35):
