Here with me. We're trying to work on a number
of things. I've been in meetings all that.
Speaker 4 (00:55):
Do you hear whatever I'm hearing in my ear? Thanks?
Speaker 2 (01:00):
Fun little.
Speaker 4 (01:02):
Flipping sound?
Speaker 2 (01:04):
Yeah, okay, all right, we are here.
Speaker 4 (01:07):
I can't hear you if I take it out.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
I don't know what that is.
Speaker 3 (01:10):
Okay, we'll hope, we we'll figure it out. Nothing for
you all there to worry about at home.
Speaker 2 (01:15):
Unless it's on the air.
Speaker 4 (01:17):
We don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
Adam says it's on the air. It is, Kevin. Are
you hearing a noise?
Speaker 4 (01:23):
It sounds like the Cicada's.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
I'm not hearing a noise, but I can. I'm digging
into it right now.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
Well, when I wake up in the morning and it's
a sunny day and I hear this c cada's in
the trees, it reminds me of my time down in Atlanta, Georgia,
and it makes me think you and glorious things. The
Open's going on right now. It is Shuffler's one back.
Fitzpatrick's in the lead. He had a chip in where
(01:49):
he literally dunked it, which was incredible. Rory's on the run,
he's he's playing well. I think this is gonna be
a lot of fun. I love the Open. I will say,
how do you not love it? It's first of all,
it's the best. You wake up and it's on. That's fantastic,
all right. I will say I miss, obviously Peter Alice,
(02:12):
who he passed away in twenty twenty. He was the
voice in my mind. He is the voice of the
Open Championship. It's such a bummer, obviously since it's twenty twenty.
Passed in December of twenty twenty, voice of golf, and
it's just not the same when you done, Like when
he was on there, you.
Speaker 4 (02:29):
Knew it was. You knew it was very serious.
Speaker 3 (02:32):
It was fantastic, all right, according to the Great Mark Monico,
who's gonna be turning forty.
Speaker 4 (02:38):
On July the twenty sixth, say Mark Marcus shout out.
Speaker 3 (02:42):
He says, it's not now, my mom says, it is
conflicting reports out there. My mom might be listening to
the stream. Maybe my guess is not. I bet it's
I bet it's not on the radio. But it is
a way it's not not. It's in my ear. Oh no,
that's all right.
Speaker 4 (02:55):
Who cares.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
I'm working through it. I got a feeling that it's
the power strip that's over there. You know it's a
well oiled Did you just plug anything in? No where
would that be coming from?
Speaker 4 (03:11):
I don't know anyway.
Speaker 3 (03:12):
Great, By the way, today is I want to take
a moment to let everybody know that they don't know today.
I want to wish a very happy, heavenly birthday to
Jim Donovan. Today is Jim's birthday, and I.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
Would have been sixty nine, would have been sixty nine.
I have a little tribute to him at two forty today.
Speaker 3 (03:37):
Beautiful as as well, we should. The Voice of the
Cleveland Browns forever miss him so much, and obviously I
know that today's got to be a very hard day
for Megan and Cheryl and the whole family. So just
sending them a lot of love, and you know, if
you think about it, dropping them a note on social
media or anything, but it would be a very happy,
heavenly birthday. Jim Donovan was born on July seventeenth, nineteen
(04:00):
fifty six, would have been sixty nine years old today.
It's hard to believe that he's not with us. So
we'll have a little tribute to him coming up in
the second hour. Also in the second hour, it is
a mail bag Thursday. Get your questions into at Browns
Underscore daily on the YouTube chat and we'll rip through them.
We'll have a lot of fun with that. We've got
(04:20):
a lot of stuff to get through here, a little
bit of news around the league. We'll get through the
safeties on our stuff on our on our ultimate team,
because we pretty much got that lined up now, which
is great, and I think it's the way that it's
shaping up is we're gonna have to make a We're
gonna make a big kind of decision there, and I
think we're carrying two punters. That's the way that I'm
(04:41):
looking at it right now. I think we're gonna have
just like Money Mitch got on this team, Cole is
gonna be on this team. Cole, I'm telling you, I
think that Cole and Behorkaz we.
Speaker 4 (04:51):
Have the boomball and then we have the three guy. Yeah,
we have fifty three guys.
Speaker 2 (04:54):
We have a kicker. We're gonna have a kicker. I'm
saying we're going to have four safeties. I think, well,
you might be able to make that argument. The list
today is it's that terrible? No, it's not great.
Speaker 4 (05:10):
It's not great.
Speaker 3 (05:10):
I mean you could stretch into a couple of them,
but no, it's yeah, it's it's not great.
Speaker 4 (05:15):
I can't believe Sindejo is not on this list. Who
put this list together?
Speaker 2 (05:19):
I looked at it and left Sindejo off.
Speaker 4 (05:21):
The people love Sandejo?
Speaker 2 (05:25):
Are we sure about that?
Speaker 4 (05:27):
I could be being a little facetious.
Speaker 2 (05:29):
I think you might be.
Speaker 4 (05:30):
It could be being a little facetious.
Speaker 2 (05:31):
I might be. Yes.
Speaker 3 (05:32):
Indeed, So the opens going on right now. Quick leader
board update?
Speaker 4 (05:39):
Do you want a little leader I do, give me,
give me the update.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
Of course, they refreshes.
Speaker 3 (05:44):
Fitzpatrick's four under. There's a group of four people. And
I also want to hear you say some of these names,
because there are some Jay scarf Olison, Okay, he's four under.
Yep with h lee yep, Fitzpatrick ga zoom tyke excuse me,
that's right.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
Bezon hout Sure, there we go.
Speaker 3 (06:08):
It's bezen hoot English, just four under, glovers four under.
Oh so there's six people four hunder now, yes, okay.
And then Scheffler's at the top of the three unders.
Speaker 2 (06:17):
Well. Jordan's Scheffler.
Speaker 3 (06:19):
Jordan h Jordan, Matt Jordan. He's a European player. He's
very good in the open.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
Mcneely's at three under. Here, where's Rory? Huh?
Speaker 4 (06:30):
Where's Rory? Rory had like a five footer to get
to three under on eight.
Speaker 2 (06:36):
Rory's down to two under.
Speaker 4 (06:38):
So he just didn't make it. He missed it.
Speaker 3 (06:39):
So he made par through eight? Yes, yeah, oh man,
he had like a five foot three under.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
Not so fast. How about Michelson today.
Speaker 4 (06:48):
He hold out from the bunker.
Speaker 2 (06:49):
I know that. Yeah, I'm working on it.
Speaker 4 (06:51):
I can hear you though, I can hear it.
Speaker 2 (06:52):
Okay, maybe maybe we plug in a different microphone. I
don't I don't know what would have changed on.
Speaker 4 (06:58):
That mic nothing's changed. What did Michelson end up at?
Speaker 2 (07:03):
Michelson's minus one?
Speaker 4 (07:04):
Okay, so he holds for the buck.
Speaker 3 (07:05):
So he's in the mix and Fitzpatrick out of the
rough on the par three jarred it like straight into
the cup like.
Speaker 4 (07:13):
Boom for a deuce, and he's in the lead.
Speaker 3 (07:15):
He went, He's a US Open champion, if I'm not
mistaken Fitzpatrick, Yes.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
Uh, fenales at one under Shoftley even he's in for
the day. Yeah, uh. Looking at some of these other
guys here, where are some of our Jason Day and
his outfits? Is at plus two?
Speaker 3 (07:38):
You didn't give the guy? Uh, you didn't mention some
of the other guys at three under?
Speaker 2 (07:42):
He didn't give me?
Speaker 4 (07:42):
Did he give me a quackinadge?
Speaker 2 (07:44):
On ahead? Go ahead? D Chambeau's at plus three? Oh,
did you see what happened to? Did you see what
happened to?
Speaker 4 (07:53):
No?
Speaker 2 (07:53):
No, I've been out of the mix the last couple
of hours.
Speaker 3 (07:56):
D Schambeau hit a ball to screw up, killing like
on the right side of the fairway in the rough
on a hill with the ball away.
Speaker 4 (08:05):
Ubo his feet.
Speaker 3 (08:06):
First time he tried to hit it, he didn't hit
the ball, hit nothing. Second time he tried to hit
it went like two feet.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
I mean, if it doesn't hit anything, does it count
as a stroke?
Speaker 3 (08:14):
Yes, if you're attempting to strike the golf ball, Yes
it does, yes, indeed. Yeah, so that's tough for him.
Oh man, hate to see it. Wyndham Clark five over.
Hopefully he was didn't go and destroy anything in the
locker room.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
How about you just pay for the last one he
should have. Just Kepka is at plus four, Speith is
at plus four.
Speaker 4 (08:35):
He's I feel like he's just kind of lost it.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
Well I don't. I don't know if any of them.
Where's Justin Thomas? He was in the like Spawn is
at plus two he won the US Open. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (08:51):
By the way, so many people are using those lab
hutters and those zero well they call them like the
zero torque putters.
Speaker 2 (09:03):
We had an incident yesterday involving my putter. What happened.
Speaker 4 (09:08):
Is it? I thought league's over.
Speaker 5 (09:12):
Guy.
Speaker 2 (09:12):
I was able to get one more and JT's two under. Okay,
so he's in the mix. Yeah. I had a little
issue yesterday.
Speaker 4 (09:20):
What happened?
Speaker 2 (09:21):
So number one, you're playing in between torrential downpours? We
had three down pours in nine holes, Like that's a lot. Yep,
we had we we had, we had two foursomes, and
then there was like six of us left. So we
were like whatever, Like, let's just go out as a
six sum and we'll be fine. Everything will be great.
(09:44):
What could go wrong other than torrential downpours monsoons and
we're playing through. I'm fifty yards all the way from
the hole. I just take my putter and my my edge.
I've got the dry I got, I got the putter
on the ground. It's it's got them. I put my
(10:05):
little divot tool in trip out of the water exactly.
One of the guys. It's kind of a mess. Everybody's
all over the place. No one's hitting the ball well
right left behind for there's people ever course. Even though
it been dry, it's wet. Oh wow, it's not ideal.
We're we're slogging our way through it. One of the
(10:28):
guys didn't see my putter ran it over bent the shift.
Speaker 4 (10:33):
With his golf cart. That's right, he's getting you a
new putter.
Speaker 2 (10:38):
I don't know if I want to go down that road.
Yeah you do. Okay, do you have a putter? No?
It kind of cost me my match up.
Speaker 4 (10:47):
Did you break the putter?
Speaker 2 (10:48):
I did not break the putter. Then do you know
who did I do the responsible for the putter? Okay,
it's unfortunate. I mean, it's an accident for sure, but
I did not.
Speaker 4 (10:59):
Clark's got a.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
I was a little distraught by the time it was over.
I'm like, get me off this course. I literally had
had to change the way I putted for the final thing.
I lost my match.
Speaker 4 (11:12):
Now he could So what just a shaft has bent?
Speaker 2 (11:14):
I believe. So I was gonna I was gonna take
it to your guy Will like, can you replace a shaft?
Of course, you might praise a putter shaft, like, maybe
that's my way around to be less.
Speaker 4 (11:28):
I'd be less than a hundred bucks.
Speaker 2 (11:30):
That's what I'm kind of rooting for. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (11:34):
Yeah, so it's now if you want this seems like
a great time to get a new putter.
Speaker 2 (11:38):
But it is a newer putter.
Speaker 3 (11:40):
Okay, so you don't want a new putter, No, just
go get a reshaft. Yeah, and it won't be much.
Speaker 2 (11:47):
Yeah, I was. I was not in a good place
last night. No, that's it. Oh, this is fine, you're fine.
So and the guy felt bad about it.
Speaker 4 (11:58):
I'm sure he did, but now he can you know,
I know.
Speaker 1 (12:03):
So.
Speaker 4 (12:03):
I don't know if you guys are have been aware.
Speaker 2 (12:08):
That still there. I have to come over there to
pick the media.
Speaker 3 (12:11):
But there are a couple of things pop culture wise
that went down last night that were incredible to see
unfold as we have seen them. And obviously the big
one would be Shane Gillis at the SP's.
Speaker 2 (12:27):
The nine minute and whatever second opening the monologue. Yeah,
met with By the way, those are hot topics of
the day. Is it in the hot topic? Well, I'm
not gonna play it.
Speaker 4 (12:41):
You can't play it.
Speaker 2 (12:42):
No, No, because we're not by the way, we have
to watch what we say. I guess we're we're not
on a delay back at ESPN.
Speaker 3 (12:48):
Clean comedy is great, and comedy is supposed to push
the ends. And is it supposed to be like everybody's
cup of tea?
Speaker 6 (12:54):
No?
Speaker 3 (12:54):
I thought it was very funny. Obviously, unfortunately the Browns
took a little bit of fire in there. But I
thought he did a I thought he did a great job.
And then, uh, there was a cold Play concert yesterday
that's having massive ramifications around the business world.
Speaker 4 (13:12):
Uh yesterday as well.
Speaker 2 (13:13):
Where where were they at? They were in Boston.
Speaker 3 (13:17):
I think, yeah, that's one that you're gonna have to
look up yourself.
Speaker 4 (13:21):
And it's.
Speaker 2 (13:24):
Last so.
Speaker 4 (13:27):
That won't take you long.
Speaker 2 (13:28):
Oh boy.
Speaker 3 (13:29):
Uh, be smart out there, folks, That's what I would say,
Just be smart out there. So SP's yesterday. I didn't
watch any of the show. I didn't even watch the monologue.
But what was great is because of the world we
live in, I was able to watch the entire monologue
on social media very quickly through clips of each joke,
(13:50):
which I did the same thing. And he was great.
I thought Chinghills was incredible. He attacked when you go
for come for everybody, people can't get mad you're going
for He came after everybody, and he had some pretty
funny stuff. I wonder if he'll be back. I hope
so he should be back.
Speaker 2 (14:09):
I mean the the w n B A.
Speaker 4 (14:13):
And it was so and he was so right. That
was his friend's wife.
Speaker 2 (14:16):
Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (14:17):
One point he pointed out a lady in the audience
and said that it was a four time w NBA
All Star and everybody clapped, and everybody clapped, and then
he's like, I know, nobody knows. Really he didn't say
outside of Caitlin Clark, but it is kind of true.
Nobody knows he's in the w NBA. He's like, that's
my friend's wife, and you.
Speaker 2 (14:33):
Guys, and you guys. Yeah, for all of you that
claimed to.
Speaker 4 (14:36):
Be Yeah, that was very funny.
Speaker 3 (14:39):
Yeah, some of the awards. Best Athlete was SGA. He
got a good joke about how everybody on him already
is in foul trouble. Everybody's sitting around and was in
foul trouble. The best play was Saquon Barkley's backwards turtle.
I still think it should be STEP's Golden Dagger, but
it wasn't even nominated. Best Team Eagles Fair Best College Athlete,
Cooper Flag.
Speaker 4 (14:57):
No, let's go baby, Travis Henter.
Speaker 3 (14:59):
Travis Hunt was the best high won the Heisman, was
the best receiver and the best cornerback in college football.
Speaker 2 (15:08):
Cooper Flag best player in college ship but hoops one
even he was.
Speaker 3 (15:13):
Let's be honest about it. When you think about his
Duke tenure, it fell short. Couldn't in bound the ball,
and he did have that one shot where he drove
in was he like to at the elbow, maybe even
inside of it, and he missed it.
Speaker 4 (15:25):
He short armed it.
Speaker 2 (15:29):
Allegedly, allegedly he watched it.
Speaker 4 (15:32):
We all saw it.
Speaker 3 (15:33):
Best NFL player, Saquon Barkley. I think that should have
been Lamar. Best golfer, Scottie Scheffler. That's a that's a
no doubter. Those are your Hot Topics of the Day,
presented by University Hospitals, the official healthcare partner of your
Cleveland Browns. Browns have played some Browns News Browns to
place defensive end Ellerson Smith on the reserve retired list.
He appeared in two games with the Browns, recording two tackles.
First signed the Browns Price Squad in September of twenty
(15:54):
twenty four, before he's elevated the active rosters in week
eleven and twelve. You know, we talked about that defensive
end room and and he was a long shot of
long shots.
Speaker 4 (16:05):
So a spot's filled up there for.
Speaker 3 (16:07):
The Browns, and so now you've got you know, we
think it's Garrett maguire, right, try and shwink and then
one of Acquir and Cam Thomas. And that's likely the
way that it's going to play out. So I really
don't think that that really.
Speaker 2 (16:22):
Affects it too much. But you know, interesting, I just
saw the Coldplay club got yeah not.
Speaker 4 (16:32):
Great, oh no, and that has gone quite viral.
Speaker 2 (16:35):
Yeah, but that's not a very comfortable morning in someone's home.
Speaker 3 (16:40):
Oh no, at home, there's already a big fallout. Sure,
you don't see that at a minor enterprises show. You
see a lot of people just being happy and enjoying
a talent.
Speaker 2 (16:56):
Something, think about, something.
Speaker 4 (16:59):
To think about.
Speaker 3 (17:00):
All right, today you as much mailbag as you guys want.
You guys got questions. There's this is This is truly
the calm before the storm. Rookies and quarterbacks report tomorrow is.
Speaker 2 (17:11):
Today, Yes, yeah, they have till like five o'clock. I
believe team meetings at five thirty. And then that's report Tuesday, Tuesday.
I believe the conditioning test is right after the show.
Speaker 4 (17:24):
Conditioning test right after the show.
Speaker 2 (17:26):
Oh, I will not involve me doing it.
Speaker 4 (17:29):
Conditioning I got told. I just got told something you're
going to love.
Speaker 2 (17:32):
Oh I don't think I like it already.
Speaker 3 (17:36):
And then yeah, then we hat like the first open
train camp practice next Saturday, next Friday, next Fridays is
the first open Yes, so eight days.
Speaker 2 (17:45):
That's right. We have practices a couple of days before that.
Now remember the first five days or not much. Yeah,
the media will be there, Yeah, we'll be there. We'll
be there.
Speaker 4 (17:57):
Hey, did you have your call? Did you have your call?
Speaker 2 (18:00):
I did? All right?
Speaker 4 (18:03):
I don't want to hear about that interested party.
Speaker 7 (18:06):
All right.
Speaker 3 (18:06):
When we come back, we're going to go through Jemmy
Fowler's top ten wide receivers through the eyes of NFL executives,
coaching scouts. By the way, corners came out today. Denzel
Ward number three, respect finally final?
Speaker 4 (18:17):
Is he not? Well?
Speaker 3 (18:18):
He was number two last year and yet he's never
been a first or second team All Pro.
Speaker 4 (18:22):
It's a joke. It's a joke, quite frankly.
Speaker 2 (18:24):
Not even in Prisco's top one hundred. That's absurd. There
were fourteen other corners.
Speaker 4 (18:30):
It's absurd.
Speaker 2 (18:30):
I am aware.
Speaker 3 (18:32):
I think Prisco does that because he's like trying to
do anything he can to come back on the show,
because he's been body bagged so badly that I think
that's what he's looking for. He's looking for any kind
of an angle. All right, so we'll take a look
at that when we.
Speaker 4 (18:48):
Come back here.
Speaker 3 (18:48):
You listen to Clem Brown's Daily presented by Vally Betting,
official sports being partner of your Cleveland.
Speaker 1 (18:52):

Speaker 2 (19:30):
Absolutely?
Speaker 3 (19:31):
Just come sit in here with me, Gibbe, because then
I don't have to have my headphones in.
Speaker 4 (19:36):
Brock's got it.
Speaker 2 (19:39):
There you go.
Speaker 3 (19:42):
We're bringing Gibbe in studio for this, all right. Do
you have the list, Gibbe? Do you know the list
of Jeremy Fowler's top ten receivers?
Speaker 2 (19:49):
So that's what I was just pulling.
Speaker 7 (19:50):
All right.
Speaker 3 (19:50):
I'll give you a second pulled up because I haven't
looked at it yet, so I'm gonna see let's see
what I can guess.
Speaker 2 (19:56):
What That's what I was kind of hoping we would do.
Right then, we want to look at it so that
we could do so we could do this. Boy, we
are just a well oiled machine today, but we are.
Speaker 4 (20:06):
Dude, listen, calm before the storm it gets seriously.
Speaker 2 (20:12):
I'll say, no app installed to open this what.
Speaker 4 (20:15):
Don't worry about it?
Speaker 7 (20:15):
All right?
Speaker 3 (20:16):
Hold on, no, no, no, no, this is something I'm gonna
start guessing. Names that I'm sure in the top ten.
Speaker 2 (20:20):
Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on.
Speaker 4 (20:25):
Gibbe, is your buddy who ran over your putter? Was
he listening? Is he okay with the r.
Speaker 2 (20:30):
I don't know if he if he was listening or not,
but I know there are others that.
Speaker 4 (20:33):
Are he definitely. Just you just get a new shaft
if you want to keep the putter.
Speaker 2 (20:37):
I want to keep my putt.
Speaker 4 (20:38):
I like you like the grip. Is the time for
a new grip?
Speaker 2 (20:41):
No, that's the thing my putters like.
Speaker 4 (20:43):
So you'll build a year and a half to you'll
be able to keep the grip.
Speaker 2 (20:45):
I'd like to keep the grip.
Speaker 4 (20:47):
Just a new shift. Yeah, you might need a new gripe,
all right, we have the list, I do.
Speaker 3 (20:51):
Okay, all right, I'm gonna say I'm gonna try to
go in order. Uh, Jamar Chase he is number one, okay,
Justin Jefferson number.
Speaker 2 (21:04):
Two, okay, two for two at home.
Speaker 3 (21:10):
These ones, I'm not as sure on order. So I'm
just gonna like start naming people that I believe are
going to be in the top ten. I believe that
Malik Neighbors will be.
Speaker 4 (21:19):
In the top ten. He is number seven.
Speaker 2 (21:24):
I believe he is number seven. Did you already look
at this? Now?
Speaker 4 (21:27):
Brock just showed me. Brock's quick.
Speaker 2 (21:30):
He's young.
Speaker 4 (21:31):
He's young.
Speaker 2 (21:31):
He's young. I'm on rass Saint Brown, number.
Speaker 8 (21:40):
Six, number six, number six, number six, Nico Collins, number eight, Nico.
Speaker 4 (21:51):
He should be higher than that. Okay, see the lamb.
Speaker 2 (21:57):
He's up higher. Uh he is number four, number four.
Are you missing number three?
Speaker 4 (22:05):
I am missing number three?
Speaker 2 (22:06):
Is it?
Speaker 4 (22:06):
Is it a shocker that I'm missing him with three?
Speaker 2 (22:08):
Could be.
Speaker 4 (22:11):
Ce d lamb od. You haven't gotten Mike Evans.
Speaker 2 (22:19):
I believe so, I believe he is. He better be
on the list. He is number nine. Mike Evans at
thirty one years of age, thousand yard receiving career. Okay,
every year.
Speaker 4 (22:29):
Let me just write down some names real quick. So
I'm curious because he had such a bad year.
Speaker 2 (22:35):
There's three, you have three spots left.
Speaker 4 (22:38):
Yeah, he had such a bad year.
Speaker 3 (22:39):
But I think that he'll still I still think that
he would be on this list.
Speaker 4 (22:45):
Tyreek Hill number three. Okay, so yeah, but he had.
Speaker 2 (22:49):
He had his worst.
Speaker 4 (22:51):
He had like eight hundred yards.
Speaker 2 (22:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (22:54):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (22:55):
Now, it's interesting. The Dolphins can save fourteen point nine
million on the twenty twenty five cap if they trade Hill.
But the notion that most Dolphins fans can hear that
first lining up blanks is a lot about Hill's turbulent
twenty twenty four campaign. Didn't he get arrested trying to
get into the stage we won? Yeah, and he actually
(23:15):
had a good game. That was one of his best
games three years ago. Twenty twenty two, he has one
hundred and nineteen catches seventeen hundred and ten yards, seven touchdowns.
Twenty twenty three, has one hundred and nineteen yards one
hundred nineteen catches seventeen hundred and ninety nine yards to
lead the NFL, thirteen touchdowns lead the NFL.
Speaker 4 (23:30):
His first team all. For both of those years he.
Speaker 3 (23:32):
Was top ten in the MVP voting and top five
in the Offensive Player of the Year voting. And then
last year, out of nowhere eighty one catches nine hundred
and fifty nine yards career low eleven point eight yards
per catch outside of his rookie season when he airs
nine point seven and six touchdowns.
Speaker 2 (23:47):
So from an NFC exec, so this is Foller does this.
He talks to AFC and NFC coaches, execs, front office.
Everybody's anonymous. Of course, from an NFC exec, he still
impacts how you prepare for for them so much due
to his speed. He dictates so much. His speed hasn't
fallen off despite the down year, added a veteran AFC scout,
(24:10):
Even if he's lost a half step, he's still more
still more explosive than everyone power with raws speed. I
do think defenses have made some adjustments to that Miami
offense letting him run around with window dressing and limiting
big plays. Yep, I might say something about the Dolphins offense.
That's not a good thing. They had a tough it
(24:31):
was tough for them last year. It was tough for
them all right, So I so far, you're eight for eight,
eight for I got two more to go. Yepkay, what
you're missing number ten and number seven?
Speaker 3 (24:45):
So no, yeah, now you're missing a missing number ten
and number five, number five?
Speaker 2 (24:52):
Sorry, okay, I've got some names here.
Speaker 4 (25:03):
I believe this guy should be unlisten. If he's not,
it's a bad list.
Speaker 2 (25:07):
Brian Thomas not in the top ten on the outside
looking in honorable mention.
Speaker 4 (25:14):
He should be in the top ten.
Speaker 7 (25:16):
A J.
Speaker 2 (25:16):
Brown AJ Brown is number five.
Speaker 4 (25:19):
Okay, okay, m.
Speaker 2 (25:27):
Oh, I get this is a good one. Drake London
not in the top ten. Let's see if he's honorable mention?
Oh god, not honorable mention? Hold on, hold on, I
don't think he.
Speaker 3 (25:43):
Is twelve hundred and seventy one yards, one hundred catches
and nine touchdowns and he's six or five?
Speaker 4 (25:49):
You tell you? Are you kidding me?
Speaker 2 (25:51):
Let's see. Not only was he not honorable mention, he
was not even receiving boat further on.
Speaker 4 (26:02):
What Okay, that's a shocker. He should be on the list.
Speaker 2 (26:05):
I mean, he's not anywhere.
Speaker 4 (26:07):
Brian Thomas should be on the list.
Speaker 2 (26:09):
Uh. Terry McLaurin honorable mention? Okay, T Higgins honorable mention. Okay,
man Puka Nukua honorable mention. You're crushing the honorable mentions.
Speaker 3 (26:25):
I can't believe Drake Lennon didn't get a vote. Guy
had thirteen hundred yards and nine touchdowns honorable mention? Are
there any more honorable mentions?
Speaker 2 (26:34):
One?
Speaker 5 (26:34):
Two?
Speaker 4 (26:36):
Okay? So, dk Metcalf honorable mention. Jerry Judy.
Speaker 2 (26:48):
Not anywhere to be found on anything.
Speaker 4 (26:54):
DeVante Smith.
Speaker 2 (26:56):
Receiving votes, Judy game receive votes. Huh no, our guy
got screwed over?
Speaker 4 (27:04):
Is it like?
Speaker 2 (27:05):
I'm afc AFC Garrett Wilson number ten?
Speaker 3 (27:14):
Okay, and I'm missing one more honorable mention? I think
DeVante Adams. Yes, there you go, Garret Wilson. I mean
and listen, I think obviously he is good and but
he eleven hundred yards and seven touchdowns ten yards of
like he hasn't had a season that was even close
(27:35):
to the season that Drake lemonhead.
Speaker 2 (27:37):
Yeah correct. Do you know?
Speaker 3 (27:40):
Can you guys know what Brian Thomas's numbers were last year?
I can't believe he didn't. Brian Thomas had thirteen hundred
yards and ten touchdowns average fourteen point seven.
Speaker 4 (27:49):
Yards of catch.
Speaker 2 (27:52):
Honorable mention.
Speaker 4 (27:53):
Nico Collins should be higher too. I bet Nico.
Speaker 2 (27:56):
Nico Collins was Nico on who got hurt? He did,
That's why.
Speaker 3 (28:00):
He played twelve games and had a thousand yards and
seven touchdowns. Yeah, he was very good. Neighbors is a stud.
I'm n rah.
Speaker 4 (28:14):
Who am I forgetting? Who was the other rookie last year? Oh?
Marvin Harrison who was not nowhere to be found?
Speaker 2 (28:22):
Yeah, also receiving votes. Okay, DeVante Smith as we said,
Lad McConkie, okay, Jackson Smith and Jigba Yeah, jys En
was good last year. Jamison Williams.
Speaker 4 (28:34):
Jamison Williams was good last year.
Speaker 2 (28:35):
DJ Moore, Chris Godwin okay, George Pickens, Calvin.
Speaker 4 (28:42):
Ridley, Drake Lennon didn't receive any votes none.
Speaker 2 (28:47):
Alvin Ridley did, yeah, Jalen Waddle and Courtland.
Speaker 3 (28:51):
Sutton Okay, Calvin Ridley and I realized he was in
Tennessee last year, had a thousand yards and four touchdowns.
Speaker 2 (28:57):
Did he retire Calvin Ridley? Yeah, no, he gonna be
He's gonna be a monster this you're retired? Who retired
like in that mold or from that group? I felt
like there was a wide receiver that hung it up.
All right, we'll look.
Speaker 7 (29:18):
I don't know that.
Speaker 2 (29:20):
I don't know Calvin Ridley.
Speaker 3 (29:22):
This is an interesting lest Drake Lennon not getting any
votes is absolutely wild to me.
Speaker 2 (29:26):
What about Judy?
Speaker 3 (29:27):
Judy not getting any votes as wild to me? Some
of those guys are you know, there's some like obviously
there's some name value in there. Jamison Williams. I was
watching quarterback again last night. He averaged seventeen yards of catch,
thousand yards, seven touchdowns. Obviously, speed is dynamic and a
(29:48):
game changer.
Speaker 2 (29:50):
Julio Jones is who I was thinking about.
Speaker 4 (29:52):
Yeah, but he's been like I know, that's been years.
Speaker 2 (29:56):
This offseason he retired.
Speaker 4 (29:58):
Did he play last year?
Speaker 2 (30:02):
It's a great question.
Speaker 4 (30:03):
I don't think so.
Speaker 3 (30:04):
No, he hasn't played since twenty three. Okay, when he
was with Philly he announcedially retired. Yeah, man, I mean
he's Julio Jones the heck of a career. He had
a stretch where he went fifteen ninety three, eighteen seventy one,
fourteen oh nine, fourteen forty four, sixteen seventy seven and
thirteen ninety four. He was five year stretch where he
(30:25):
was first or second team all bro and that thing's
still there.
Speaker 4 (30:29):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (30:30):
We might just have to reconnect him.
Speaker 4 (30:32):
That's it. That's it's an interesting list.
Speaker 2 (30:36):
You want to do safeties? Did you already look at
the safeties? I'm sorry the corners? No, no, I'm sorry the corners.
I didn't look at him. Do you want do you
want to do that? While we're welcome back, baby, let's go.
Speaker 4 (30:48):
That guy's been living his best life as he should,
as he should?
Speaker 2 (30:54):
You want to do? You want to do the top
ten corners?
Speaker 4 (30:56):
Yeah, we could do it.
Speaker 2 (30:57):
Have you already looked through it? Or no?
Speaker 6 (30:58):
No?
Speaker 2 (30:58):
I just know where Denzel is? All right, all right,
all right, let's dance with this here. We got top
ten corner. We know that Denzel is number three. Since
we're doing wide receivers, let's.
Speaker 3 (31:10):
All right, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, all right.
I'm just gonna throw out names. I'm not gonna try
through it correct. I'm pretty sure PS two will.
Speaker 2 (31:20):
Be number one.
Speaker 4 (31:21):
You would be correct, Stingley number two, Jalen Ramsey.
Speaker 2 (31:27):
Our guy is three? Uh stand by honorable mention? Honorable mention?
Speaker 4 (31:35):
Oh man, that's awful, Okay, Sauce Gardner.
Speaker 2 (31:39):
Sauce Gardner is in here. The new money man for
the New York Football Jets.
Speaker 4 (31:44):
Is number five, Sauce.
Speaker 3 (31:48):
The guy from the Chiefs McDuffie number four. Okay, Marlon Humphrey.
Speaker 2 (31:59):
Not in the top ten.
Speaker 4 (32:01):
Okay, honorable honorable mention, Yeah, honorable match. Okay, what's that guy?
The guy in Seattle.
Speaker 2 (32:19):
You might be cooking with a little gas.
Speaker 4 (32:22):
Not Trake Wolan, the other one, or is it Treke Wolland? No,
it's the other guy.
Speaker 2 (32:26):
He was like a Witherspoon. Witherspoon, he was like.
Speaker 4 (32:28):
The fifth pick.
Speaker 2 (32:29):
Yeah, he's a he's a stud Witherspoon.
Speaker 4 (32:34):
Charvarius Ward not in the top ten.
Speaker 2 (32:40):
Woolen and Ward are both in also receiving boats. Warn
Joey Porter Jr.
Speaker 4 (32:49):
Also receiving boats.
Speaker 2 (32:50):
There you go, mm hmm.
Speaker 4 (32:56):
This one's tougher.
Speaker 2 (32:58):
I know, decent number.
Speaker 4 (33:02):
The kid from Atlanta A. J. Terrell not in the
top ten, not the top ten? Is he receiving this
honorable mention?
Speaker 2 (33:12):
Honorable mention?
Speaker 4 (33:13):
Okay? I'm sure there are people I'm just even thinking
of right now.
Speaker 2 (33:23):
Jay R.
Speaker 4 (33:24):
Alexander, No, he won't be on there. Lugarious Need.
Speaker 2 (33:30):
Not in the top ten. Jesus two NFC guys, one
in the East and one in the North.
Speaker 4 (33:38):
Oh, my guy from the Bears, Jalen Johnson.
Speaker 2 (33:40):
There you go. What number is the number eight?
Speaker 3 (33:43):
Okay? The kid from New England, Gonzales.
Speaker 2 (33:47):
He's number six.
Speaker 3 (33:49):
Okay, he must be really good. I don't we didn't.
I really didn't see see him this year. He must
have been really good.
Speaker 2 (33:58):
You have an NFC East guy and NFC South guy,
and that will round out your top.
Speaker 3 (34:03):
Ten NFC East and NFC South. Doron Bland for Darius
Slay no oh, Cooper.
Speaker 2 (34:14):
De John no Quin Mitchell, there you go, number nine.
Speaker 3 (34:19):
Got their corners were so good last year. And then
the last one's in the NFC South.
Speaker 4 (34:24):
Yes, for the Bucks.
Speaker 2 (34:26):
We'll see him in a couple of weeks.
Speaker 4 (34:28):
Carolina Horn Horn corner is definitely tougher.
Speaker 2 (34:34):
I can tell you. Honorable mention is Jalen Ramsey, Marlon Humphrey,
Trevon Diggs, Byron Murphy, aj Terrell. Your guy from the Falcons,
Lagerius Snead receiving votes Cooper Jehan, Deron Bland, Tavarius Ward, Diamadore, Leonore,
(34:56):
dj Reid, Carlton Davis, Marshawn Ladamore, Alante Taylor, Joey Porter Junior,
Tron Johnson on the Bills, yep Riek, Woolan, JayR, Alexander
and Nate Wiggins. So and Ravens have like five guys
on this Alexander, Wiggins, Humphrey.
Speaker 4 (35:18):
Who else is a Raven? Did they signed Darius Slay
three Ravens? No?
Speaker 2 (35:24):
Three Ravens?
Speaker 4 (35:25):
Who signed Slack?
Speaker 2 (35:28):
Pittsburgh County.
Speaker 4 (35:32):
I feel like he's in our division? Yes, Steelers jesuise, Well,
how about it?
Speaker 7 (35:38):
All right?
Speaker 3 (35:38):
That's the top ten corners, top ten receivers from the
NFL execs Denzel respect a number three, But that just
stants to show that he needs to be getting, you know,
bigger recognition, all pros, things of that nature.
Speaker 2 (35:49):
From Schefter. A few moments ago, Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson
Senior believed to have recovered from his recent right shoulder
setback as the team appear prepares to report for training
camp next week. Per ESPN's Stephen Holder, Okay feast Or
Famine seventy yard pass, Daniel then An eight Yardaniel Jones
(36:13):
is starting there, I think so too? All right for you?
There we go?
Speaker 4 (36:24):
What I think it can't be real. I'm gonna have
to look at there's a tweet that there's no way
that it's real.
Speaker 3 (36:35):

Let's take a look real quick here, I'm gonna go
get that. Let's get that leaderboard going. You got it
talked to me.
Speaker 2 (37:40):
It's a lot of names. Hold on, here we go, Uh,
Scott Olson, it's four under, Lee is four under Fitzpatrick,
four under Bose yep, mm hmm, Glover's four under. Uh.
Three of the those three of those five are already
(38:02):
in for the day, yep. And then Rory's got to three.
Speaker 4 (38:07):
Let's go.
Speaker 2 (38:08):
Rory's at three, at three mcneee, Scheffler, Jordan. I don't
know where about it, yep, exactly.
Speaker 4 (38:20):
Do you know who I'd like to win this one? Who?
Speaker 2 (38:23):
Who?
Speaker 3 (38:23):
My my sentimental favorite is He shot a two hundred
par sixty nine today.
Speaker 4 (38:28):
Lee Westwood, Lee Westwood Man. He's got to be old
now too.
Speaker 3 (38:36):
He's definitely in the conversation of the greatest golfer to
not win a major.
Speaker 4 (38:41):
Let's see, he's fifty two.
Speaker 3 (38:44):
He's one of the few golfers who have won tournaments
on five continents, long victories on the European Tour and
PGA Tours. Won tournaments in four different decades. Was the
European Tour Golfer of the Year in three different decades
ninety eight, two thousand and nine, and twenty twenty. He
won the European Tour Order of Merit in two thousand
(39:05):
and nine and twenty and twenty. Frequently mentioned as one
of the best golfers got a major championship victory. Holds
a record for playing in the most majors without winning one.
He his best finishes in the majors. He's got a
second at the Masters twice. He's got a third at
the PGA Championship, he's got a third twice at the
US Open, and he's got a second at the British Opener,
(39:25):
the Open Championship. He was the European Tour Golfer of
the Year in ninety eight, twenty nine, and twenty twenty.
Speaker 4 (39:30):
Do you know how hard that is?
Speaker 3 (39:31):
The merit winner two twenty nine, twenty twenty to do
that twenty years later or twenty two years later to
be the golfer of the year, Like, that's insane. He's
never won a major. I think that'd be so cool
if he won one. He can name by the way
they showed him. They did an interview with him, and
he could name every single winner of the Open in
(39:53):
a row bat like backwards, starting from last year's winner
and going back every single.
Speaker 7 (39:57):
One of them.
Speaker 9 (39:58):
Really, yeah, I've usually at the Open, oh man. Yeah,
there have been names that have won, but there have
been people similar to the US Open that come out
of nowhere, yeah and win this.
Speaker 4 (40:11):
He uh man.
Speaker 3 (40:13):
He had it to four under and he had two
bogies down the stretch two under. Though he's still very much, yeah,
very much in the mix.
Speaker 2 (40:20):
He guess what shocking news. The weather sucks there. It's
not too bad, It's not terrible.
Speaker 4 (40:25):
By the way, I don't why that's what should be
on the television here.
Speaker 2 (40:29):
Rory just missed a par put back to two under. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (40:32):
So the last winners have been Choflet, Brian Harmon who
won at Royal Liverpool, Shaffley at Royal Troon, Cam Smith
at Saint Andrews, Colin Morricala at Royal Saint George. Then
it was off twenty nine. Last time played port Rush
with Shane Lowry Carnus who was Francesco Mullinary great name,
Jordan Speed at Royal Birkdale in seventeen. Heinrich Stenson two
(40:54):
done sixteen Royal Troon Saint Andrews, Zach Johnson twenty fifteen.
Speaker 4 (40:59):
Would crazy as you go back ten years?
Speaker 3 (41:02):
Ten years ago twenty fifteen Zach Johnson won in a
playoff over Mark Leishman and Louis Ustazen and the total
purse for the event was six point three million.
Speaker 4 (41:14):
The winner's share was one.
Speaker 3 (41:15):
Point one to five million ten years ago. Today the
pursus seventeen million and the winner shares three point one million,
or last year, it was, so, I bet it's you
in higher obviously than this year. Like that's crazy, that
is it's going out, going up and up.
Speaker 7 (41:32):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (41:33):
I have some news for you from Chefty More.
Speaker 4 (41:36):
What's he doing right now?
Speaker 2 (41:38):
Don't know, but as teams are going through through things,
especially the Chargers, Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams, agent Tory
Dandy informed the team last night. After eight seasons, his
client is retiring from the NFL. Man Williams walks away
from the game at the age of thirty. Man, weren't
(41:58):
we just talking yesterday? Who were the Chargers wide receivers
outside of Mconkie brought row Man? Yeah, John Rahm. Frustration
led to snapping out a fan.
Speaker 3 (42:18):
That whistled during his swing. He's like, really whistling, good job.
Mike Williams was one of those guys that was so imposing,
obviously so good in college at Clemson, had some really
nice years. Couldn't really stay healthy at thirty to walk away,
it was crazy. I remember a couple of years ago.
I want to say so his best. He had two
(42:40):
thousand yard seasons. In twenty nineteen, he had forty nine
catches for a thousand one yard led the league get
twenty point four yards a catch. Twenty twenty one, he
had seventy six for eleven forty six and nine touchdowns.
Speaker 4 (42:51):
Then he followed that up with eight ninety five. Then
it just wasn't the same. Yeah, it was last year.
Speaker 3 (42:54):
He went to Pittsburgh and they were kind of really
looking for some receiver. I'll he had nine of us
thirteen tar gets for one hundred and thirty two yards
and a touchdown. His first target was a touchdown with
the Steelers, and they just really never played much and
the Jets certainly couldn't find a way to use him.
It was very, very strange, but a very abrupt ending
to his career. He's draft in the first round of
twenty seventeen draft seventh overall by the Chargers was back
(43:17):
with them and that's it.
Speaker 2 (43:21):
Who was opposite him at wide receiver.
Speaker 4 (43:25):
Keenan Allen, Yeah, Yeah, Micha Wims Keen Allen.
Speaker 2 (43:28):
Yeah. We had some amazing games with them offensively. Yeah,
there was a ton of firepower that had to be
the twenty to twenty one season. We played them in
Week five. We played them in Week five in a shootout.
They won forty seven to forty two.
Speaker 3 (43:45):
Mike Williams in that game had eight catches for one
hundred and sixty five yards and two touchdowns.
Speaker 4 (43:50):
Let's see if that was his career best game. Very
well may have been, and.
Speaker 3 (43:56):
It was, of course, by the way, Mike Williams best
two receiving games of his career against the Browns.
Speaker 4 (44:03):
Twenty twenty two, he had ten for one thirty four.
Speaker 3 (44:06):
Great uh, and then in twenty twenty one eight for
one sixty five. That's unbelievable. I think he only played us,
kind of played us that many times. That's outrageous. Well,
Mike Williams hanging it up.
Speaker 2 (44:21):
That's a big loss for that. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (44:23):
Yeah, because we talked about the receiver room, that is
a big loss.
Speaker 2 (44:26):
And they have I mean, they're in the Hall of Fame.
When's the Hall of Fame game? Two weeks? I think
two weeks? Yeah, thirty first. Yeah, that's that's a little crazy.
Who do you want to see in the final four
golfers on Sunday morning?
Speaker 3 (44:46):
Scheffler, Rory Lee Westwood. Okay, And I don't think I
would have said Chambeau. But I don't think he's gonna
be I don't think he's going to be able to
do it.
Speaker 2 (45:01):
Doesn't appear like it's looking too good. You got tomorrow still, yeah,
and if you can make a little run today and
get back around even yeah, look at the weather's gonna
prevent you know, I think the weather prevents some things.
So from that number getting too big.
Speaker 3 (45:20):
It's gonna be very very interesting, real quickly. Jeremy Fowler
concluded there, I think I said the corners were the
last one concluded. Our eleven day Top ten series stands
alone in scale months of leg work involving seventy plus
NFL personnel.
Speaker 2 (45:36):
So thanks for reading.
Speaker 3 (45:36):
Teams with the most in the top ten Eagles ten,
Lions eight, Ravens eight, Chief seven, Bucks six.
Speaker 4 (45:44):
That's a surprise. The Bucks.
Speaker 2 (45:48):
I mean they've got some talent. Are they the favorite
to win the NFC South? I would have to think yees, yeah,
I don't know what Atlanta is going to be. Social
media in the last forty minutes has gone down a
(46:12):
very dark past. A lot of people are saying unbelievable today.
Speaker 3 (46:17):
Really this is somebody. Somebody had a tweet that I
just read that I think.
Speaker 4 (46:22):
Is is a good one.
Speaker 3 (46:27):
They said back in twenty nineteen, they said every day
on Twitter.
Speaker 4 (46:30):
There is one main character. The goal is to never
be that main character.
Speaker 2 (46:36):
There are two individuals that are the main.
Speaker 4 (46:39):
Characters right now. There's no doubt.
Speaker 2 (46:41):
Yeah. The one thing going back to gillis go back,
go back, police take take all the time you need.
The one thing with gillis he just needed to relax.
That opening segment, he was like worried. You could tell
he was a little nervous, Like, am I going to
tick some people off here? Don't be worried?
Speaker 1 (47:03):
He was.
Speaker 2 (47:05):
I don't know, he got He looked a little on edge.
He looked a little uncomfortable, like delivering these Just let
him rip. They put you up there for a reason, buddy,
go to town. Oh yeah, just don't be just don't be
a coldplay carefully cold play. Oh my.
Speaker 3 (47:26):
The MVP of Super Bowl fifty Von Miller, signing a
one year deal with the Commanders per Miller social Media.
Speaker 4 (47:31):
I like that they needed another pass rusher. I like it.
Eight time Pro bowlers won Super Bowls, Broncos and Rams.
Well there we go, let's look it up. Let's give
the people what they want. Von Miller.
Speaker 3 (47:45):
Remember they were a team that was very flirtatious or
their name was a flirtatious name with our Miles Garrett
during that portion of the offseason. Von Miller six sacks
last year in thirteen games, seven tackles for last eight
quarter hits. You have to go back. His last double
digit sax season was two thy and eighteen, but he
(48:06):
had nine and a half and twenty one with Denver
and the Rams he had eight and twenty two. He
had not a single sack in twenty twenty three, but
last year he had six. He's got one hundred and
twenty nine point five sex. He's the active leader in
the National Football League in terms of sacks. So listen,
if he can get them, be a situational pass rusher
(48:26):
and get him a few sacks here there, it's you know,
I'm sure it's not going to be a pricey deal,
but could be a good one there for the commanders,
Hey good, send everybody to the NFC. Everybody our number
two mailbag. Are we getting stuff in? We need lots
of mail bag questions. Let's go, let's have fun, whatever
you want mail bad questions, and then we're going to
pick the safeties on our quarter century team.
Speaker 2 (48:46):
There's another room.
Speaker 3 (48:47):
That's got some it's better than you think.
Speaker 4 (48:50):
Yes, it actually is going to be better than you think.
Speaker 3 (48:52):
And if it's if you were able to take some
guys on there, like full career arcs, like a Jordan Poyer,
it would be very good to get first team All
pros all that. But from a Brown stamp, I think
it's gonna be pretty easy. The four we're gonna go
with as we get into that, So we'll look at that.
Kick off our number two with Clemon Down's Daily presented
by bally Bet, Official Sports being partner of Your.
Speaker 2 (49:10):
Cleveland brown.
Speaker 1 (49:18):
Cleveland Browns Daily presented by bally Bett, an official sports
betting partner of Your Cleveland Browns on eight fifty ESP
and Cleveland.
Speaker 3 (49:44):
All Right, our number two here Cleveland Brown's Daily, The
calm before the storm. Rookies and quarterbacks report tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (49:51):
They have they have from my ten eight to five p.
Speaker 4 (49:53):
Now there could also there's what.
Speaker 2 (49:56):
Time would you what time would you report, Nathan zigera workday?
Speaker 4 (50:01):
Ten am?
Speaker 2 (50:03):
That's right, because at five o'clock you're late.
Speaker 3 (50:06):
I would be there at tenay. First of all, if
you're a quarterback, you're trying to win the job. Nobody's
got the job.
Speaker 2 (50:11):
You might.
Speaker 3 (50:12):
I want to be here and doing everything I can,
and if I'm a rookie, I would imagine a great
deal to learn, So I would also want.
Speaker 2 (50:19):
To be here very very early. Gotcha, That's what I mean.
I would agree you had like a month off like
this is your job. Well, yeah, and that's how you
perform in this situation. Is the big bearing on your
financial future?
Speaker 1 (50:36):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (50:37):
Absolutely, man, dude, it stops. It's just coming like an avalanche.
I looked it up and I've opened Pandora's box and.
Speaker 4 (50:47):
It's I think it's really incredible.
Speaker 3 (50:50):
What is It's quite an incredible situation, all right, mailbag, No, no, no, no, yet.
We're putting together the Browns courtth Centry team made up
a player since two thousand and This week we're picking
here's that's right. Here, we are picking the safeties.
Speaker 2 (51:12):
Like I said, I was planning on being the on
the other side of the Yeah, you're good.
Speaker 4 (51:17):
I like where you are.
Speaker 2 (51:19):
We're kind of a mess today, but that's all right nowhere. Hey,
the hum is gone.
Speaker 3 (51:23):
The hum is gone, is gone, all right, So we're
doing the safeties. I think there are four pretty obvious
ones and then we'll go from there.
Speaker 2 (51:33):
But you said four obvious ones.
Speaker 4 (51:36):
Yeah, I think so. I could be I could be wrong,
but I believe so.
Speaker 3 (51:40):
All Right, so you've got I think you know, our
guy Grant Delpitt has played very well.
Speaker 4 (51:44):
I think that he would be on there.
Speaker 2 (51:47):
TJ.
Speaker 3 (51:47):
Ward was a Pro bowler with the Browns and second
team All Pro in twenty and thirteen. One hundred and
twelve tackles, five passes, defense, two pick, six bumble return touchdown, nine.
Speaker 4 (52:02):
Tackles for loss.
Speaker 3 (52:04):
Yeah, and then he let him go and he goes
to den Ernie's Pro Bowler each of the next two seasons.
Speaker 2 (52:08):
So TJ.
Speaker 4 (52:09):
Ward's on there for sure.
Speaker 2 (52:14):
In my mind.
Speaker 3 (52:15):
Did Whitner have a Pro Bowl season with the Browns? Yeah,
he did in twenty fourteen. He was a Pro bowler
with the Browns. One hundred and six tackles, he had
a pick.
Speaker 2 (52:23):
Are we sure?
Speaker 4 (52:24):
We sure?
Speaker 7 (52:25):
What?
Speaker 4 (52:25):
Are we sure?
Speaker 7 (52:26):
Like?
Speaker 2 (52:27):
He was worthy of the Pro Bowl?
Speaker 3 (52:30):
He's a pro bowler with the Cleveland Browns. Like this
is I'm sorry, but that that puts you in.
Speaker 2 (52:34):
Was it like a third alternate? I don't know.
Speaker 3 (52:37):
He's a pro bowler with the Cleveland Browns. Then you've
got to Sean Gibson, who was also a pro bowler
with the Cleveland Browns that same season. He had six
picks that year. Yeah, back to eck since where he
had five and six.
Speaker 4 (52:48):
So I think that's the four.
Speaker 2 (52:50):
I think that's it, And I don't I don't want
to be smirch Winterer because, by the way, that was
another guy that like when this team struggled, yep, every
he held court at his locker and he just like
a firing squad, answered questions. It was he was put
in a very rough position.
Speaker 4 (53:09):
Yeah, I mean, I think it's I think those are
the four.
Speaker 3 (53:14):
You know, I liked Obviously, Jordan Poyer went on to
have an excellent NFL career, but unfortunately he never got
the opportunity with the Browns.
Speaker 2 (53:21):
I loved.
Speaker 3 (53:21):
I loved Jordan Poyer when he was here, never got
the opportunity. Then becomes the first team All Pro and
twenty one a Pro bowler in twenty.
Speaker 4 (53:27):
Two in Buffalo.
Speaker 3 (53:28):
Had a real nice career in Buffalo, but his Browns
time would not warrant that selection.
Speaker 2 (53:34):
Well, in the same I mean, it was the same
thing with Ward. Like Ward went on to have some
great success in Denver.
Speaker 3 (53:40):
Yeah, two Pro Bowls at least. He was a Pro
bowler with the Cleveland Browns. Here's one that maybe you
could make a case for, Sean Jones.
Speaker 2 (53:49):
Sean Jones was a good player.
Speaker 3 (53:50):
Sean JS player for this ranch in two thousand and six,
had one hundred and eleven tackles and five picks. Followed
that up in two thousand and seven with five picks,
ten pass his defense, ninety six tackles. Yeah, Sean Jones,
So that'll be our fifth That'll be our fifth safety.
He definitely deserves to be on there. And and gip,
(54:12):
let's see, I'm looking to see some of.
Speaker 2 (54:15):
These is not going to be Hickman, Harrison, Carl Joseph Randall.
Let me look up Bridney Pool. Looking up Mike Adams.
I think Mike Adams had a lot of success, but
it was after US.
Speaker 3 (54:27):
Brodney Pool's best season with the Browns. He had a
season with four picks, fifty tackles.
Speaker 2 (54:33):
Brodney Pool, great guy. I did a Madden Midnight reveal
and he showed up at a blockbuster. We did. Really
shout out to John Curzy.
Speaker 4 (54:43):
If you're listening, I mean here's another one. Earl Little.
Speaker 2 (54:47):
Earl had a good year a few years.
Speaker 3 (54:50):
He had fifteen picks over a three year stretch with
the Browns, five, four, and then six. I mean, it's honestly,
we got the three Pro bowlers Delpit.
Speaker 2 (55:01):
And then what did Witner do during his time with
the Browns?
Speaker 4 (55:04):
It was just two years, but he made the Pro Bowl.
Speaker 3 (55:06):
Dude, Like, I feel like, if you had a Pro
Bowl season with the Browns, you've got to be in.
Speaker 2 (55:09):
Never remember that.
Speaker 3 (55:10):
Yeah, twenty fourteen, he had a pick, four passes, defense, force,
fumblee hundred and six tackles, three tackles for last week.
Speaker 2 (55:16):
I don't know why I don't remember that. I'm sorry, Dante.
Speaker 3 (55:19):
Those Witner and Gip were the safeties and they both
made it. He came in, They let TJ. Ward go
and they brought in Dante Whitner. Earl Little is definitely
a honorable mention, I would.
Speaker 2 (55:29):
Say, And it's funny. I mean, d Marius Randall had
an amazing one one year. Carl Joseph made some plays
for US. Wasn't flashy, but made some plays in that
COVID year.
Speaker 3 (55:41):
Yeah, I mean Earl Little, Honestly, his three year stretches
better than Get, but Get made the Pro Bowl, so
I think you got to put him in there. And
then Delpit got a second contract. They had a couple
hundred tackle seasons. Pepper's just never No, Pepper's only played
two years here.
Speaker 2 (55:58):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (55:59):
Yeah, he was in the trade for Odell Beckham Junior.
Speaker 2 (56:03):
Pour a little pepper on it. You'll hear that later on.
Speaker 4 (56:05):
Yeah, that'll be that's good seth.
Speaker 2 (56:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (56:08):
I mean Earl Little is the one that I kind
of feel bad about.
Speaker 2 (56:12):
But well, we only need one putter.
Speaker 3 (56:16):
Yeah, well that's why I got the fifth. I get
all right here, we'll go Sean Jones or Earl Little.
So Earl Little's best seasons he had five picks, four picks,
six picks, eighty two tackles, sixty four tackles, sixty tackles.
He had nine passes defense, eight passes defense, nine passes defense.
I think the other one's honestly, they do think it's better.
What did I say? Who was it?
Speaker 2 (56:36):
Sean Jones? Sean Jones, Sean Jones.
Speaker 3 (56:41):
He has five picks, one hundred and eleven tackles, sixteen
passes defense, five picks, ten passes defense, ninety six tackles,
four picks, fifty six tackles.
Speaker 4 (56:50):
Yeah, I think Sean Jones would be the answer. It's
interesting that none of these guys like Sean Jones played
pretty well and they didn't keep him here.
Speaker 2 (56:57):
But again that then remember at that time, this franchise
was turning coaches in front offices over every two years,
I know, and he was a hell of a player.
It's just like everybody thought they could remake the roster.
Speaker 3 (57:17):
That year after year, after you turned it over and
turned it over and turned out.
Speaker 2 (57:20):
I mean, Joe's talked about that. It's nothing that I'm
not saying anything that's not out of turn. Joe Thomas
has talked about that. Joe Buttonios talked about that. Yeah,
you know, we have stability. It's been nice. Yeah, but
there aren't a lot of names, but the quality is
a little bit better.
Speaker 4 (57:42):
Yeah, not bad, not bad. So those are the those
are the safeties there. All right, we got mail bag,
lots of mail bag.
Speaker 2 (57:49):
I mean, just.
Speaker 4 (57:49):
Quickly check in real fast here for everybody, I.
Speaker 2 (57:52):
Think you should avoid social media?
Speaker 4 (57:54):
No why I us no, why do we have to
avoid it? Where's the leaderboard?
Speaker 2 (58:03):
Here?
Speaker 4 (58:04):
Give me a leader board from the open championship.
Speaker 2 (58:07):
Here we go.
Speaker 3 (58:13):
All right, still there are man, there are a lot
of people at four hundred gibbe yoh yeah, all right,
we've got still six there Glover, English, Zudenhote, Pittzpatrick, Lee
and scove Olsen three under. Scheffler Man Rory dropped out
of there. Rory's back down to two under.
Speaker 2 (58:34):
He just.
Speaker 3 (58:37):
Rory just bogied eleven. So birdied ten, bogie eleven so
far on the day, four birdies, two bogies. Fowler. Fowler
is two under as well. He's done for the day.
Scheffler three under. He's done for the day. Westwood two hundred,
done for the day. Tyrrell Hatton is at thirteen. Uh,
(59:01):
he's through thirteen. He's three under coming off of a
birdie at twelve, so he's in the mix. This's gonna
be good. This would be real good, very fun.
Speaker 2 (59:09):
This is so much better than the US Open, where
you're like, where are the names? So it's interesting names.
Speaker 3 (59:16):
Number two, number five, which is the short part four,
number seven, which is a six hundred seven yard par five,
and number twelve, which is the other part five. So
all three par fives are playing under par and one
part four is playing under par. Everything else is playing
over par. On that so far for the tournament.
Speaker 2 (59:40):
Fun, I like it. I like the number being a
little lower. I don't need seventeen or eighteen here this weekend.
Give me a little like if it's single digits, se later,
n let's.
Speaker 4 (59:51):
See what the weather's like.
Speaker 3 (59:51):
Sergio Garcia one under and uh yeah, all right, mailbags
coming up when we come back.
Speaker 4 (59:57):
Get your questions in. Let's go. Let's go.
Speaker 3 (01:00:02):
So people are coming at you, Gibbe, Hold on, let's
hear you respond.
Speaker 4 (01:00:05):
To this, Gibbe, what's up.
Speaker 3 (01:00:11):
Regarding your putter? It says there's something egregious that has
happened here. Either the car driver was too close to
the green and people that drive that close to the
green or dirt bags, or you left the putter somewhere
where it shouldn't have been, and that would be your fault.
Speaker 2 (01:00:25):
In that case, I'm fifty yards off of the green,
like I'm I think my shot was like fifty five sixty.
Speaker 3 (01:00:37):
So you're in the fairway, yeah, and he just came
roaring down the fairway and you need to.
Speaker 2 (01:00:42):
I mean, no one was roaring anywhere because it was
pouring down rain. But they were behind us. I set
the club to the side and he just drove right
over it. Yeah right, I don't know. I know it's tough.
It's tough to blame. But he's not a bad human. Sure,
he's a great human, correct, and he's just going to
(01:01:03):
be able to you know, get a new shaft. Here
we go.
Speaker 3 (01:01:06):
All right, that's where we do it when we come back.

Elk is a proud partner of the Cleveland Browns. Roy
McElroy has made Bogie another one. He's down to one under,
so that is not good there. Unfortunately in his home country.
I know there's a lot of pressure, you know, hopefully
he can.
Speaker 2 (01:02:11):
He's not handled it well since the Masters well, he.
Speaker 3 (01:02:15):
He also said, and he, like Mike, I wanted to
win the career Grand Slam, and now.
Speaker 2 (01:02:18):
I've done that, So you're just going to turn it off.
Speaker 7 (01:02:21):
Now.
Speaker 3 (01:02:22):
I don't know if he's turning it off, but I
think that that's a thing that is harder to maybe
deal with than perhaps then perhaps we know, you know
like that, if you comp once you've accomplished all your goals,
do you work Is he going to work as hard?
And he said that, he said, I have had a
hard time working as hard, focusing as much, So you
(01:02:43):
never know.
Speaker 2 (01:02:44):
That's kind of where it's.
Speaker 3 (01:02:45):
Uh, that's where it's at this one. I know he
wants he wants to win the Open in.
Speaker 2 (01:02:49):
Ireland for sure. Yeah that's what I would.
Speaker 4 (01:02:51):
Yeah, so he wants to do that. All right, we
got mail bag gibe.
Speaker 2 (01:02:54):
All right, so we do have some questions coming in.
Let's start with the YouTube channel love It. We've been
starting to do the YouTube dot com slash Browns. You
can watch us live currently. Send us some questions. Kyle
Kogi k O g g E Okay, uh do we
see ourselves trading a late round pick to bring back
(01:03:16):
Chubb if Judkins is suspended for six games? Probably not
and no.
Speaker 4 (01:03:21):
And why who say Houston would do that? Correct?
Speaker 5 (01:03:25):
No?
Speaker 2 (01:03:25):
Unfortunately, he also follows up and says, what, Gibby, what
bar did you spend the most time at when you
were at BG Broadhouse? Downtown? Quality places? There you go,
the drink names we won't talk about on the air.
Good but good times from Decca fam in your mind?
(01:03:48):
Is there a chance the Browns host the Super Bowl
in the new Stadium in five years and we're in
the game.
Speaker 4 (01:03:54):
Of course there's a chance, right, Germans Bombaro? The Rams
did it.
Speaker 3 (01:04:00):
The Rams opened that Stateum in twenty yeah, because it
was COVID and then in they won the twenty one
Super Bowl there.
Speaker 2 (01:04:06):
Well yeah, and didn't Tampa win the COVID.
Speaker 4 (01:04:09):
Super Bowl in Tampa?
Speaker 7 (01:04:11):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:04:11):
Yeah, Yeah, it's totally possible. Okay, Well, how far out
do they have the super Bowl sites picked already five
years out?
Speaker 4 (01:04:23):
Yes, I'm sure they do.
Speaker 2 (01:04:24):
I feel like we might have go a little further
out than that deck of him. Uh, well, I don't
know about that. Uh twenty five New Orleans, twenty twenty six,
Levi twenty seven so far.
Speaker 3 (01:04:40):
Again, twenty eight Georgia, So they don't have the twenty
nine yet, all right, so why not?
Speaker 2 (01:04:48):
Huh? How about it?
Speaker 4 (01:04:49):
Yeah, it's not scheduled. Twenty eight is the last one
that's scheduled.
Speaker 3 (01:04:54):
I think I think you have a better chance to
host it in thirty in twenty thirty than you do
in twenty twentynine, because I don't know that it'll be
a lot far enough along for them to be able
to make.
Speaker 4 (01:05:02):
That, you know what I mean?
Speaker 2 (01:05:06):
Yeah, Uh, isn't this a character on the name of
the person that's asking the question? I believe is what? No,
it wouldn't be Robert Christie, Bob Christy. Well, I don't
(01:05:27):
know why. I was thinking Ronnie the limo driver from
Howard Stern. Not the case. But I don't. Are we
going to upgrade the wide receiver position? I think that's
the position with the biggest question marks.
Speaker 4 (01:05:40):
Yeah, that's a real question.
Speaker 2 (01:05:41):
Outside of a quarterback. I mean, we know who one
of the four people is going to be the quarterback.
Speaker 3 (01:05:46):
We certainly hope so, right, we certainly hope that they do.
That's one of things that I talked about. If Deontay
Johnson is Deontay Johnson, if the rash is taking a
step forward, if Tillman stays healthy a lot of ifs
I know, then I think you got a pretty darn
good wide receiver room. We're also going to play, and
(01:06:08):
I think you need to think of Harold Fannin at
times as like a big slot receiver. I think we're
gonna play a lot of twelve personnel, two tight ends,
and Fan is gonna get a lot of opportunities out there.
Speaker 4 (01:06:16):
So that's just also something to keep an eye on.
Speaker 2 (01:06:18):
I think also Samson, well, now you might need him
in the backfield a little more. Yeah, but I mean
in mini camp he was lining up outside as well. Yeah,
they'd fleck when they had both backs in the backfield.
They would use him in the jet motions and get
him out there. Yes, Ryan Messages of the show from
the YouTube channel. What's to go to? Chicken wing flavor?
(01:06:40):
Do you have a chicken wing for me? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:06:41):
Yeah, it's I either like I like a few. I
actually like a lot of different fluid so a traditional
hot wing, yeah, but hot can't go wrong with that.
I like some type of whether it's like an Asian
zing or I like an Asian.
Speaker 4 (01:06:55):
Style wing, like it a good barber cue.
Speaker 3 (01:07:00):
I'm not afraid of it all. I actually think Domino's
has a pretty good barbecuing.
Speaker 2 (01:07:05):
Really back in the.
Speaker 4 (01:07:06):
Day, I couldn't say that tell the last time I
had it, But when I.
Speaker 2 (01:07:08):
Did, it was pretty I got some good deals these days.
Speaker 3 (01:07:10):
And then like a mango hobbin arrow from like BW three,
or like when they had the dragon Fire.
Speaker 4 (01:07:17):
Oh man, the Dragonfire was money.
Speaker 2 (01:07:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:07:19):
So like a hot spicy.
Speaker 2 (01:07:20):
Yeah, I do. I like it hot wing. I like
a nice garlic parm, garlic parm. I do like a
garlic parm. The trolley sauce at the trolley house where
they combine all the sauces. That's it. It's just.
Speaker 4 (01:07:34):
Every single sauce you.
Speaker 2 (01:07:35):
Got it, and then a few other spices and whatnot.
It's actually quite lovely. Uh this one for you. Any
updates on a Bananas Foster ice cream replacement. I'll take
my answer off air. No, we'll talk about it on
the air if you like. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:07:50):
No.
Speaker 3 (01:07:51):
In fact, you know, there's a pretty good banana cream
pie at Mitchell's.
Speaker 4 (01:07:56):
Mitchell says, a nice banana cream pie ice cream.
Speaker 3 (01:07:59):
But in terms of that Bananas Foster, I have not
been able to really find what I've been looking for.
Speaker 4 (01:08:08):
If you know any I'd like to know some.
Speaker 2 (01:08:10):
No, you make a good point about the Mitchells, because
I comboed that with a little uh ah, what did
I combo that with? There was something else I got
it a few weeks ago with the Missus. I just
can't believe that that company got rid of it. And
Chunky Monkey from Ben Jerre's is no replacement for it.
(01:08:33):
I just don't understand. So here's what New Orleans ice cream,
Bananas foster from Creole Foods of Louisiana, sixteen ounce. Apparently
Hogendaws has a bananas foster ice cream that's a retired flavor.
What the heck, dude? And this is everybody retiring it.
Speaker 3 (01:08:52):
Hudsonville was the best and now it's just gone, just gone.
Speaker 4 (01:09:01):
It's very sad.
Speaker 2 (01:09:02):
Yeah, I don't know everybody. Did the g man finish
his I know you're listening. He should have. I don't know.
Favorite Yeah, he was trying to hold off as long
as he could. All right, let's get into on social
media at Brown's Underscore Daily on Twitter. We'll get back
to the YouTubers in just a minute. Chad so Deer recap.
(01:09:24):
Damarius Randall is not on the quarter century team.
Speaker 4 (01:09:27):
He was on the twenty years.
Speaker 2 (01:09:28):
He was the starting safety on Your Best Browns of
eighty through twenty twenty. This was a subject of debate
on this show for a number of years.
Speaker 4 (01:09:37):
He had a wonderful year and at the time that
we did it, there were.
Speaker 2 (01:09:41):
People willing to die on the hill for this. That's
what it was. Who gribbled no names please.
Speaker 3 (01:09:50):
Damarius Randall came to the Browns that one year. He
was he was sensational. Four picks in twenty eighteen. That's
must have been when we did this list. He was great,
the former first round pick. He was very entertaining when
he was with us. It just, yeah, it didn't work out.
That's a good, good callback though, thank you for your listening.
Speaker 2 (01:10:08):
And it's fair.
Speaker 3 (01:10:09):
It's a fair point out and we'll pass that on
to the people that were so adamant about that.
Speaker 2 (01:10:13):
Yes, oh kay.
Speaker 4 (01:10:17):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:10:18):
Ronnie Harrison also had a really good year.
Speaker 4 (01:10:20):
Harrison did have a very good year.
Speaker 2 (01:10:21):
He did. Uh Brownie, Nak Gibbie. You and me are
both bigger guys, and you seem to get several nicknames
forced on you, like I do with some of the
ones outside of the show. That we don't know about that.
I'm sure you have. I'm not going to tell you that, Brownie.
I appreciate it, and I see yours. I don't know
(01:10:42):
why they call you snowflake, but thought some prayers. If
you're a bigger guy, no one should be calling you snowflake.
Speaker 3 (01:10:49):
And I got one from Dave Brown all right, Cleveland
Brown's Ozzie correspondent, and he said, I would love to
know your daily routine pre new baby, sleep, diet x
or size, mindfulness work. You seem to be sharpened, mind
fit and healthy plus lots of entity. Thank you either
talk the topic on the show or DM all right, Dave,
So I do have a pretty good routine. The first
(01:11:10):
thing I would say that helps me is I I
do the inner minute fasting, So I'll eat dinner every
now and then I might have, like sometimes my lovely
bride will bring to you know, a spoon of ice
cream or a little a little bit of a same nothing,
But then I try not to have anything until lunch.
(01:11:36):
I like to I try to work out five to
seven times a week, not me and try to vary
up my work out. Sometimes I'll do like body building splits,
but sometimes I'll do like the hop stuff where it's
like full body.
Speaker 4 (01:11:48):
Almost every day. I eat clean. I eat a lot
of food.
Speaker 3 (01:11:52):
I eat a lot of meals in my I do
eat a big lunch, but then I'll eat another meal,
and then I'll have dinner. So I probably get like
three or four meals in that time, like a couple
of little snacky meals. The one thing I probably do
too much of if I wanted to be like really lean,
is I drink.
Speaker 2 (01:12:05):
Too much wine.
Speaker 3 (01:12:06):
Because I drink wine almost every day. I love wine,
big wine guy. But I eat clean, like, I don't
eat a lot of bad stuff fried foods.
Speaker 4 (01:12:16):
I cook. I cook my own food pretty.
Speaker 3 (01:12:18):
Much every day. So like obviously there's a lot of
olive oil. I use a ton of olive oil, but
not a lot of other fats. Sometimes some ghee in there,
but that's like the clarified butter. But yeah, just a
lot of protein. I always make sure I have protein veggies,
you know, when some hopefully good carbs, I do like pasta,
so I will eat some pasta.
Speaker 4 (01:12:37):
But for the most part, it's just like that.
Speaker 3 (01:12:39):
And then I'm fortunately just kind of like a naturally happy,
energetic person. So I don't have. I don't do like
meditations or mindfulness things of that nature per se. But
I always just try to be present and do stuff
and yeah, get my work done. I like to wake
up and be productive. One thing I do every day,
which is a weird thing, especially now I have the baby.
Speaker 4 (01:12:57):
But I'll get up.
Speaker 3 (01:12:58):
I make the bottles for the day, clean the cap clean,
the dishes, dishwasher emptied, all of that.
Speaker 4 (01:13:04):
I always do that.
Speaker 3 (01:13:04):
That's like the first thing when I wake up, like
make sure I do all that stuff. So it just
gives you like a little right out of bed, like
a little productivity.
Speaker 2 (01:13:11):
Oh no, no, I get it. I make breakfast and
lunch for the missus, for the father in law at
the office, and then for the grand baby. Now this summer,
maybe the grand baby's at the house by seven thirty
every morning. It's not that's taken some adjustment. I am
not a morning person. Let's see, this is actually a
(01:13:34):
follow up on the baby and the family. See what's
the biggest difference of having a newborn in your forties
as opposed to having kids when you were younger. My
wife has been hinting about another one for a while,
but I'm forty six and she's forty five. Feels like
the ship has sailed for us.
Speaker 3 (01:13:50):
So for me, the biggest difference is like you've done
it before, and so that you don't you're not as
like stressed out about things that maybe you are as
a first time parent. I'd say that's probably the biggest thing.
Definitely focused on how he sleeps, Like to me, that's
(01:14:15):
the most important thing. And we're getting them fed and
all that. Yeah, I think you're just more like you're
more chill. It's different though, Like I am fortunately an
energetic guy, but like I mean, when he's thirteen and
really wanting to get after it, I'm going to be
like sixty.
Speaker 4 (01:14:33):
That's right, that's gonna be. That's right.
Speaker 3 (01:14:36):
I hope that I can do from a sports standpoint.
Speaker 4 (01:14:42):
I hope that's where I hope I can.
Speaker 3 (01:14:43):
I can do what I need to do as a father,
That's what that's my biggest concern.
Speaker 2 (01:14:47):
You take care of yourself. You're fine, you're safe. Lance
not a fan of you guessing names off a list.
Really compelling radio. Thank you, jeez, hey, sorry thanks for listening.
Teams back in the building to LA, We're again through it.
Speaker 4 (01:15:02):
We're here. We're doing some fun stuff.
Speaker 3 (01:15:04):
You could throw guesses if you want, guess along with me,
right down your own list.
Speaker 2 (01:15:07):
That's right. Uh dump the swam. Brian says JD will
always be the gold standard. Yes he will. Uh dog
pound Cleveland Brown. Who is your personal Mount Rushmore Brown's
players all time? It's your personal favorites. Does not have
to be based on stats or success can be based
on personality or play style too, say it again, Mount Rushmore,
(01:15:31):
Okay of Brown's players all time? Does not have to
be stats or success can be based on personality or
play style.
Speaker 3 (01:15:45):
So three are immediates for me? Which are the Hof Money,
Mitch and Cole? Those are easy. That's an easy three
for me.
Speaker 2 (01:15:57):
Uh. Fourth, we should just bring Cole back. We should
just do everything, do a show with us on text.
Speaker 3 (01:16:08):
Fourth, I would say, I mean that's a tough one.
I might go like off script here and this might
shock some and go with a coach.
Speaker 4 (01:16:28):
And go with Jason Brandon Lynch Tarvor.
Speaker 2 (01:16:35):
I don't recall that being on the roster.
Speaker 4 (01:16:37):
Yeah, that would be one.
Speaker 3 (01:16:38):
I think those three are definitely my in my my
top I mean Chab obviously as a player would be
there Jarvis, loved Jarvis. Josh McCown was great when he
was here, Billy Wynn was great, Bronco Bill, Uncle Bronco Bill,
but Tonio's great, Denzel's great.
Speaker 7 (01:16:57):
MJ.
Speaker 4 (01:16:57):
I mean, there's a lot of guys that I really really,
really really really like.
Speaker 2 (01:17:00):
That's a hard one.
Speaker 3 (01:17:01):
The first three are very like, very easy. The first
three hof Colon money.
Speaker 4 (01:17:06):
Match or that's not. We've had some moments, oh man,
the best.
Speaker 2 (01:17:11):
Uh some Someone Dave Copper tweeted us a picture of
Toffs Banana Foster banana flavored ice cream with caramelized brown
sugar rum flavored swirls, no artificial growth hormones. Okay, I'm
into it. I'm into it. I love Toffs, by the way,
I'm into that. All right, I gotta find that googling dusky.
(01:17:36):
Great little thing, great little good good stuff ice cream
ice cream. Yeah, absolutely, Uh all right, my friend. Uh.
We have a special segment coming.
Speaker 3 (01:17:48):
Up next, yes, and appropriately special segment as it should be,
and we will pay tribute to Jim Donovan when we
return here on Cleveland Brown's Daily brought to you by Valley Bet,
official sports beanting partner of your Cleveland.
Speaker 1 (01:18:00):
Browns Cleveland Browns Daily presented by bally Bet, then official
sports betting partner of Your Cleveland Browns, on eight p
fifty ESP and Cleveland.
Speaker 3 (01:18:23):
Welcome back to Cleveland Brown's Daily presented by bally Bet
and official sports betting partner of Your Cleveland Browns.
Speaker 4 (01:18:28):
We told you at the top of the show for
those who did not know.
Speaker 3 (01:18:30):
That today is a happy, heavenly birthday for the great
Jim Donovan, the voice of the Cleveland Browns, who would
have turned sixty nine today, and Gibbe is put together
a beautiful tribute.
Speaker 4 (01:18:41):
To the voice of the Cleveland Browns. Take a listen.
Speaker 10 (01:18:44):
As a I used to do this as a young kid,
grown up a fan of the Eagles, I couldn't wait
to hear Merril Reese's call. You know, you watch it
on TV and then with the game's over, it's okakay,
I can't wait to hear it.
Speaker 2 (01:18:55):
I know.
Speaker 10 (01:18:55):
It's the same thing with Jim and our fan base.
Speaker 2 (01:18:57):
They could not wait.
Speaker 10 (01:18:58):
If you weren't listening on the radio, you couldn't wait
to hear how he described it. And you know, he
was the soundtrack to a lot of our Browns fans' lives.
I mean that was Jim in the background. Whether you're
in the car, you're at home, and you turn the
TV down, you turn Jim Donovan up. So I know
that there's so many memories of this franchise that are
just linked. It's just it's one and the same. It's
(01:19:19):
it's Jim's call, and it's the play on the field from.
Speaker 11 (01:19:22):
The Cleveland forty second down seven takes the snap, play action, fake,
He's back, He's gonna get hit.
Speaker 2 (01:19:28):
It's up in the air.
Speaker 12 (01:19:29):
Heck on Tucky, Tucky's gonna down the sideline. Twenty five,
twenty fifteen, ten, It's gets out one on the tip
and the pick by Tucky, Tucky, touchdown.
Speaker 11 (01:19:40):
Baker's got the snap, he's up in the pocket. He's
looking left down the field, firing.
Speaker 12 (01:19:45):
He's going for Landry down by the heads on the
top of.
Speaker 2 (01:19:49):
A catch for right touchdown.
Speaker 12 (01:19:54):
What a catch, Bye Landry.
Speaker 13 (01:19:57):
He made it look and sound so easy and so
move And I don't think people realized like the preparation
that went into every single game, the way that he
built an incredible process to get ready for a game.
And I think as a younger person in the media
with certainly not nearly as much experience or practice as Jim.
You can learn so much from how he approached the game,
(01:20:18):
how he took the same process every single week, so
that when he was in the booth, he was prepared,
He was ready to let the normal emotions of the
game fill him up and to fill up the airwaves
with that golden voice.
Speaker 2 (01:20:31):
That he had.
Speaker 13 (01:20:32):
It was just so special being able to watch him work,
watch him prepare, and then be able to listen to
the incredible execution on game day and the way he
just connected fans to being right there in the stadium.
Speaker 11 (01:20:43):
Second down in ten takes the snap, gives it hub runs,
He's of a tenth fifteen, he's in.
Speaker 12 (01:20:48):
A twenty twenty five to thirty thirty five.
Speaker 14 (01:20:50):
Forty forty five to fifty There goes jub has it
a thirty twenty ten five touchdown ship alou ninety two yards.
Speaker 15 (01:21:07):
His calls honestly give me chills. They to this day
give me chills. I went down a YouTube rabbit hole
last night, and it's chills and it's tears, and it's
it's all of those feelings remembering those wonderful times and
as a broadcaster, the utmost respect for the guy, because
you can't replicate that. Jim brought a joy in, a professionalism,
(01:21:30):
and a work ethic to the job that is unmatched.
Speaker 11 (01:21:34):
Three receivers tight off the line to the right, Beckham
to the left. Here's Mayfield on a reverse. They're gonna
give it to Beckham. He's rolling to the right and running.
He's up to the fifty, to the forty five to
the forty thirty five thirty there he goes to.
Speaker 2 (01:21:46):
The twenty fifteen ten five touch down.
Speaker 12 (01:21:49):
Oh, by Jay, he's got a hat trick.
Speaker 2 (01:21:52):
What a gutsy call.
Speaker 12 (01:21:55):
Oh don't Beckham Junior fifty yards on the run and
really about a seventy yard run because by the time
he got in he was twenty yards behind the line.
Speaker 2 (01:22:07):
Well you do.
Speaker 13 (01:22:08):
The Cowboys were just gonna overplay the run and they
can't cross them up with the reverse.
Speaker 11 (01:22:14):
I had to wait until it was a touchdown. Only
Pumpkinhead gives me the official call, and he's at at
and T Stadium. They had it first to ten at
the rid of twenty six, and it started with a
caderrel Hodge false start, a senseless face masking penalty on
Odell Beckham Junior, a sack of Mayfield, a five yard
(01:22:37):
delay of game penalty. If there's anything I'm missing, Doug Pope,
Jamie Gillen is into punt.
Speaker 16 (01:22:43):
I mean, I've worked in television and worked with some
great people, you know, Hall of Fame announcers, and I
would say Jim is definitely in that class as far
as a Hall of Fame announcer. And the way you
felt like you were just talking to your your best
friend or your grandfather and you know, walking through the
game or giving you advice, That's who he was.
Speaker 2 (01:23:00):
Do you mean?
Speaker 16 (01:23:00):
He was a fighter, a huge heart, and you know
he I think if you put into family, faith in football,
but I don't know Jim. Jim might have put football
up there first with the brown So yeah, I mean
it's truly gonna be missed and unreplaceable.
Speaker 11 (01:23:15):
Fourth down, keenum Waits takes the snap, He bottles it, stumbles.
Speaker 14 (01:23:19):
He gets hit, gets sucked. Hey, gods sucked.
Speaker 4 (01:23:21):
Peppers.
Speaker 12 (01:23:22):
Peppers got him, Hey got.
Speaker 4 (01:23:24):
Him, Peppers got him.
Speaker 1 (01:23:26):
Pour a little pepper on it.
Speaker 12 (01:23:27):
The Browns are gonna win it. With thirty nine seconds
off to.
Speaker 2 (01:23:32):
Go in the game.
Speaker 12 (01:23:33):
On four down and ten.
Speaker 4 (01:23:35):
Peppers came up with the play of the game.
Speaker 11 (01:23:38):
Tight ends off the line to the left, Chubb the
running back. They pitch it to Chubb. Chubb running on
the left side, cuts the corner, turns the corner, drives
up the field of Harry Collms fifty forty.
Speaker 12 (01:23:48):
He'll be arriving in the end zone right how he
stepped out of bounds at the one smart movie stepped
out abounds at the one yard line with fifty six seconds.
Speaker 5 (01:24:00):
Then when you meet him with the big smile, you
Jimmy always came up with a handshake, and he was
always so kind and gave such great warmth that you
always he always stuck in your mind. Is one of
the guys you'd kind of like to be like, kind
of like to follow in his footsteps.
Speaker 11 (01:24:18):
First down and ten, he takes the snap, butt first
out back to pass, throws it over.
Speaker 2 (01:24:22):
The nod, look backed off Tucky. Tucky's got it.
Speaker 12 (01:24:25):
Hit the forty, hit the thirty, hit the twenty one
yard line see one, talky talky.
Speaker 11 (01:24:35):
With three sixteen left to go in the game, Big
Ben throws his fourth interception of God Night.
Speaker 6 (01:24:43):
You know jim lived that every day for his entire
life and it's the reason that he's thought of in
our business the way that he is. And it doesn't
have to be whether you're al Michaels or Joe Buck
or whoever else there is, Mike Threek. They all know
people like Jim Donovan who had devoted their life to it,
(01:25:06):
who for whatever reason, by the grace of God, they
got lucky breaks and got to go on to the
national thing. But Jim just became a blove treasurer in
one place in Cleveland, and and I think probably at
that time in my career, he probably helped keep me
alive because we did a lot of Browns games at
(01:25:26):
that time, and he would walk around like I was
a proud friend, no matter what anybody was shouting at me,
or and I didn't like the Browns or whatever it was.
He was like my personal bodyguard, even though I was
a little taller than he was.
Speaker 11 (01:25:42):
Turns gifts, jump runs thirty thirty five. There he goes forty,
thirty five, fifty.
Speaker 12 (01:25:46):
There he goes forty.
Speaker 14 (01:25:48):
He's running to the river, twenty fifty ten foot touchdown
the jump. He's he in the river, yet he's in
the river, and the Brown's lead thirty to ten. He
just hit him for seventy.
Speaker 9 (01:26:04):
One hundred and ten yards on the afternoon for Nick
Jubb on eight carries.
Speaker 2 (01:26:09):
I hope he can swim.
Speaker 7 (01:26:11):
No question. He was the constant. He was in an
otherwise very transient industry. Players come and go. He was
the constant. He was the rock, he was reliable. I'm
sure that everyone felt like, hey, he's one of us,
and he was. And it's everything you could ever want
in having a hometown play by play broadcaster.
Speaker 11 (01:26:35):
Mayfield takes a snap. That's gonna do it from Pittsburgh
from Hinesfield. Sit back and watch and listen to this one.
Inside a half minute, and the Browns will not have
to snap the ball again. They will beat the Steelers
in the opening round of the playoffs.
Speaker 12 (01:26:51):
On a wonderful, wonderful.
Speaker 11 (01:26:53):
Wild card weekend, they knock off the Steelers forty eight
thirty seven Kansas, here we come.
Speaker 2 (01:27:02):
How about that? What a night here? And heinz Field.
Speaker 11 (01:27:06):
The Browns came out, they exploded early, the Steelers came
back at them again, and then the Browns just hung
in there, found a way, got back to what they
do and they got a touchdown and a couple of
field goes and they're on to the next round.
Speaker 2 (01:27:20):
What a night for Browns fans everywhere.
Speaker 11 (01:27:24):
The final score from Heinz Field the Browns forty eight
and the Pittsburgh Steelers thirty seven. The Browns get the
Chiefs coming up next week in the next round of
the NFL playoffs.
Speaker 17 (01:27:36):
You might just be a voice when it starts, but
when you look at the totality of a career of
someone that does play by play, it's never supposed to
be about you because it's about the game. But bits
of you come through when you do the game, and
the essence of you comes through. And I think that
(01:27:58):
was the case for every time Jim did a Brownskin,
the essence of him came through over that three hour broadcast.
Speaker 3 (01:28:06):
Jim, this crowd was chatting he Nicky, Hey, Nikey. They
are not happy with this start from Carson Wentz.
Speaker 2 (01:28:12):
See.
Speaker 18 (01:28:12):
I thought they were calling the beer guy and calling
heine Kent heina kin on. You know, back in the
(01:28:35):
days when I was trying to audition to become a
Bianna choir boy, I could.
Speaker 2 (01:28:40):
Hit that note.
Speaker 4 (01:28:41):
But when she just hit that note, that was painful.
Speaker 2 (01:28:44):
I'll tell you what great job.
Speaker 11 (01:28:46):
Shotgun snap but calm back up in the pocket, comes
over to the right. You gonna throw the ball into
the Rams sideline incomplete. One of the Rams team doctors
drops it at the twenty eight yard line out of ouse.
Speaker 13 (01:28:57):
Well, you got flushed to his right side and there
was only one down the field on his right side,
and he was well covered.
Speaker 11 (01:29:02):
I hope that dog is not a hand specialist, because
he doesn't have any shotgun.
Speaker 2 (01:29:07):
Weeding back to pass, looking right.
Speaker 4 (01:29:09):
Throws to the middle.
Speaker 11 (01:29:10):
It's picked off, and it's gonna go for a touchdown.
Speaker 2 (01:29:12):
William Gaze got it.
Speaker 11 (01:29:14):
He jumped in front of Jordan Cameron and the Steelers
are in again.
Speaker 13 (01:29:18):
Those are so many chances you can take when you
got a lead of seventeen points.
Speaker 11 (01:29:24):
Twenty six to three.
Speaker 2 (01:29:29):
You know, Doug, isn't it nice? Even in the pain
of this loss.
Speaker 11 (01:29:31):
Today some of the fans as they leave just waved
up and said, Jim, have a nice Thanksgiving.
Speaker 2 (01:29:37):
Twenty six to three.
Speaker 11 (01:29:39):
Pittsburgh changes sides out of a shotgun. Hutley's got it
back to pass, looks through it at Davian Clowney specked
it down like it was beach volleyball, and you, of
course remember that, Doug.
Speaker 2 (01:29:51):
I know you follow around. Oh yeah, Jose Cuervo Beach
Volleyball Tour, just a female part.
Speaker 4 (01:30:00):
I love when Nathan does the.
Speaker 2 (01:30:03):
But I'll tell you what I just did. When he fumbled.
I went.
Speaker 11 (01:30:07):
Because that was bad.
Speaker 4 (01:30:10):
That was fun.
Speaker 3 (01:30:11):
Certainly, we are thinking about you and thinking about Megan
and Cheryl and wishing you a happy heavenly birthday.
Speaker 2 (01:30:17):
And that's awesome.
Speaker 3 (01:30:18):
Awesome job Brock, awesome job Gibbe and putting that together.
Speaker 2 (01:30:22):
I hope, I hope he's doing a shot at tequila.
That was always the only time in well he liked
a peanut butter and jelly shot. We may have brought
those into the booth allegedly, allegedly, but he on the
road tequila or a good margarita. Anytime we went to like, hey,
(01:30:45):
we're gonna do Mexican tonight, I am in, yeah, let's go,
and I'm buying the first round of shots. And I
was like, okay, whatever, whatever works.
