Speaker 1 (00:05):
Welcome to this week seven Wednesday edition of the From
the Podium podcast. I'm Gabe Klea. The Browns are back
in the building today to get in their first practice
of the week in preparation for the Miami Dolphins back
in Cleveland at Huntington Bank Field this coming Sunday. On
this episode, you'll hear from head coach Kevin Stefanski, quarterback
Dylan Gabriel, wide receiver Jerry Judy, and cornerback Denzel Ward.
We'll start with head coach Kevin Stefanski, who gave his

(00:26):
thoughts on the speedy Miami Dolphins offense.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
Okay, Dolphins week.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
You know, they're a team that presents a lot of
challenges to schematically from a personnel standpoint, as well a
ton of respect for what they do down there schematically. Offensively,
it's built on speed, tons of shifts and motions. I'm
a huge challenge to slow that offense down. Defensively, they
can do a lot in the pressure game and the

(00:51):
coverage game really keep you on your toes in terms
of changing the look. Really good players at all three
levels of the defense, special team speed, fast returners, but
really well coached group that I have a ton of
respect for and we have to play our best. So
we're gonna focus on our preparation, focus on on how
we work this week to go play our best on Sunday.

(01:14):
But with that, I'll take any questions. Yeah, it's truly
day to day. We'll have to see how how he
feels tomorrow on the next day. He's progressing. He'll practice
some today, so he's progressing.

Speaker 4 (01:34):
We talked about Jerry, you big give a blank factor?

Speaker 5 (01:41):
Do you see him pressing it?

Speaker 4 (01:43):
All is this start of the season.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
Hasn't gone with you want I don't.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
I think, like to Tommy's point, Jerry wants to to
provide for this football team in any way he can.
Obviously he's a leader. We we put a lot on
his plate. We asked him to do a lot, so
he just needs to, you know, do what he's capable
of doing. I've seen it many, many times from him.

Speaker 6 (02:05):
I mean one of the sunny is talking about some.

Speaker 7 (02:08):
Of the drops maybe like the career freeing and guys
like not fully catching or watching the ball come in
and or trying to make a play. I guess when
you watch it back or are you seeing that?

Speaker 8 (02:19):
Is it something maybe.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
More technical some of the draw I think you can
learn from every play. It's not a coaching point just
to say, hey, catch the ball. You know, you got
to tell your guys whatever it is technique wise, whether
it's there's all sorts of tricks of the trade in
terms of looking it in and finishing the catch, uh,
the elements of the catch first before you turn uh,

(02:41):
all those type of things. So I think coach Oche
does a great job with our guys on a day
to day basis work in those things.

Speaker 9 (02:49):
Switching quarterbacks is that difficult or a receiver?

Speaker 3 (02:54):
Yeah, our guys have caught from all of our quarterbacks
throughout the spring, so I don't think that's an issue.

Speaker 4 (03:05):
Start here, What is she different from his first start.

Speaker 10 (03:09):
To last week in Pittsford?

Speaker 8 (03:10):
And you know what is I guess? Where can he
take it to the next n Yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
I think like any young player, you're looking to make
improvement from game to game in a ton of different areas. Obviously,
first home game this this time, so in front of
our fans, so you're not on the silent count.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
Those type of things.

Speaker 3 (03:29):
So operationally different than a road environment, but no different
than any young player to just build on the things
that you're doing well, and our job as coaches is
identified some of the things that we can help them with.
And but incremental improvements from our young players is what's
most important.

Speaker 10 (03:46):
Scout for you? When you self scouted yourself? What what?
What did you sort of come away with doing that?

Speaker 2 (03:55):
Well?

Speaker 3 (03:55):
I think you know self scout happens after every game.
You spend time thinking about the game. I think then
you get typically into four game blocks where you look
at your schemes offense, defensive, special team. So that's ongoing.
But there's a ton of areas that we need to
be better. Like I've told you guys and the collective

(04:18):
we share in that that's a coaches, players, you name it.

Speaker 6 (04:24):
You know, this is a game where you guys should
be able to rely on him a little bit more heavily.
Do you see it that way heading into this game?
And do you also in retrospect feel like maybe you
should have run a little bit more in Pittsburgh?

Speaker 3 (04:37):
Yeah, I think it's no secret to anyone that cues
a big part of our offense. Obviously we have a
ton of trust in him. You know, a game script
sometimes determines usage. I would say, but He's a huge
part of what we do.

Speaker 5 (04:56):
Do they run a bunch of the wide zonestone they do.
It feels like you guys used to do that a
ton and have gotten away from it. So do you
just explain why you don't.

Speaker 8 (05:07):
Learn that as much?

Speaker 3 (05:08):
Yeah, I think I'd have to look at the numbers
to say we've gotten away. It's still a core part
of what we do, but there's certainly gap elements to
what we do as well, or you know, more downhill
type of things. But you try to just be have
enough variety in your schemes. But it's something that they do.
They also have the ability to pull guards and those

(05:29):
type of things as well, someone.

Speaker 6 (05:32):
That you would think about calling back up and bringing
them up this way again.

Speaker 3 (05:37):
You know, obviously I hate to see that news down
there in Tennessee.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
I talked to Brian.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
I've not talked to Bill, but obviously I hate that news.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
Like I said, I haven't talked to Bill, you know,
so obviously I think very highly of them, but they're
you know, I'm disappointed for them, uh, with that news.

Speaker 6 (06:01):
Seventeen one of those of your teams was nineteen last
twenty two.

Speaker 11 (06:06):
Twenty three.

Speaker 7 (06:07):
How how do you use as a coach though, key
A lot rooly together and you know.

Speaker 11 (06:15):
Make sure that frustrations on at either side of the
ball don't boil over into you know, finger pointing.

Speaker 6 (06:23):
And and a division of the team like you're trying
to get things going on.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
Yeah, I understand the question, Daryl.

Speaker 3 (06:29):
I think, Uh, we have a group of guys on
this football team, leaders on the offense, defense, special teams,
and understand what's in front of us.

Speaker 8 (06:38):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (06:38):
Understand that when you go through tough times, you have
to show that resilience together. You gotta show that resolve.
And really all we can do is focus on what
we have in front of us. Yea comes right now,
but you're leaving the league under does that bother you?

Speaker 8 (06:57):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (06:58):
I think winning and using is what's most important, Tony.
That's the things that we focus on.

Speaker 3 (07:06):
Obviously, we want to be able to run the ball
effectively in games when you have the lead and you
can run the ball and keep the lead quote unquote.
But that's certainly something that we keep in mind as
you go into games. Yes, Yeah, talk to Dave yesterday.

(07:31):
He's a favorite of this building. He's a favorite of
the coaches of the staff. He's just a guy that
from the moment he got here, he always did it
the right way. Super dependable. You know, I think back
to that game where he was injured and I'm making
it up, but he played like fifteen plays or something
and was so impactful in those fifteen plays. Had a

(07:52):
big catch off of play action, had a great scramble
drill catch, was making plays, doing dirty work for us
in the run game. So just you don't think very
highly of the person. He'll do great and whatever is
next for him. But also just a guy that was
fun to coach because he was just the consummate professional.

Speaker 5 (08:14):
When you look at that Miami running back, does he
have special speed and like what jumps.

Speaker 8 (08:18):
Out about him?

Speaker 2 (08:19):
Speed?

Speaker 3 (08:20):
Yeah, he's a great runner, he's a great receiver. They
can line him up everywhere. They do a great job
of using all fifty three and a third of the
field and making you defend all of it. So he's
he gets your attention very quickly to just that Speed's legite.

Speaker 6 (08:37):
Opening Deshawn's practice window.

Speaker 3 (08:39):
Yeah, not no real update there other than he's doing
a great job rehabbing, doing a good job of meetings.

Speaker 6 (08:44):
What do you see you want right now.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
Good player.

Speaker 3 (08:49):
Again, that's a really nice marriage of this scheme and
his skill set with how quickly he gets the ball out,
how accurate he is when he gets the ball out.
I think he sees it really, really clearly, and get
the ball to all areas of the field and get
the ball in the hands of the playmakers.

Speaker 8 (09:05):
I know I don't listen to the media a lot,
but outside noise pressure on you. How do you deal
with that?

Speaker 2 (09:13):
I don't listen to it. It's probably the easiest way.
I grew up in Philly.

Speaker 3 (09:19):
I was a longtime listener of six' ten W, ip
SO i understand the media role AND i understand you
know that that for our, fans that's an important part
of our interests in this. Game BUT i also know
in my chair That i'm currently sitting in that you
can't listen to that type of.

Speaker 2 (09:35):
Stuff how does your? Family what's that like? For, YEAH
i don't want to get into. THAT i respect the,
question BUT i don't want to get into.

Speaker 6 (09:46):
That, yeah but when you talk about the speed that
The dolphins, have is that an element.

Speaker 5 (09:51):
That you would like to incorporate more in your own.

Speaker 6 (09:53):
Offense that you have it on the roster and if, so.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
Can you use it more without a.

Speaker 3 (09:58):
DOUBT i, mean speed is something that defenses respond, to,
Obviously Mary. Kay and the more ways you can get
the ball in the hands of guys that can, GO
i think that's the important piece of, playmakers is getting
the ball where they, can you, know put the foot
in the ground and get vertical and make. Yards and
if with, speed when you block things, cleanly it can

(10:18):
really be an explosive.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
Play how they adjusted the Loss, Tyreek.

Speaker 3 (10:23):
YEAH i think obviously they're adjusting a little, bit just
personnel wise and some of those.

Speaker 2 (10:27):
Plays he's a, great great player as everybody.

Speaker 3 (10:29):
Knows but they continue to be explosive in the ways
they get the all of their play play makers. Involved
how much of a challenges Are kane in that running,
game because he had another explosive run last. Week, yeah
THAT'S i, mean it's, again it's an impressive scheme because
they can turn and hand it to, him and whether

(10:51):
it's wide zone or gap, schemes toss, schemes they can
line them up at receiver and throw it to. Him
they can throw screens to them that they Just he's
in a lot of ways can line up. EVERYWHERE i
know he's running back by, nature but he can line up.
Anywhere they can get him the ball to him, Anyway.

Speaker 12 (11:08):
Kevin in recent, weeks it seems like, teams Especially steals
and The, vikings have been kind of neutralizing the pass
for us by getting the ball out. Quickly and The
dolphins are no different with their avera dept of target
and how quickly to look gets the ball out as a,
Defense how do you guys contract that to still be?

Speaker 3 (11:23):
Affected, YEAH i think if you'd look definitely over the
last couple of, Years, daniel every team that plays us
gets the ball out. Quickly that's that's a by design
obviously With miles being on our, roster so, uh there's
ways that we try to mitigate that with rush and coverage.
Involved and then when you can get offenses into those
down and distances where they have to hold the ball

(11:45):
third and longer call it third and seven plus where
they're longer developing plays, potentially that's when you can play
to your. Strengths but understand that all teams come in
versus us trying to get the ball out. Quickly Is
Mike hall any closer to Playing, yeah he's doing a
great job getting closer every.

Speaker 2 (12:01):
Day it's been a while since.

Speaker 10 (12:03):
You've been home for a, game and it's been a
while since.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
You've won a.

Speaker 13 (12:06):
Game so kind a reception are you expecting and what
kind of reception.

Speaker 8 (12:10):
Would you like to.

Speaker 3 (12:11):
Do, yeah we've gotten unbelievable support from our fans over the.
Years we're excited to be back in front of. Them
we're excited for the opportunity to go against The. Dolphins you,
know we think it's a privileged playing in front of our,
fans and we're excited about. It you have a right
zone right is wall or maybe on third down two
because both of those percentages are.

Speaker 2 (12:30):
High, yeah he's a you, know a great player for.

Speaker 3 (12:33):
Them you can see the element that he's added to
their offense from like you Mentioned joe in the red
zone with his size and he can. Run he's always
been a player that can get down the. Field you
know a lot of these tight ends that have are
so big but can cover ground and can separate vertically
as much as, horizontally and he's certainly one of those.

Speaker 2 (12:51):
Guys kind of, surprised.

Speaker 13 (12:53):
Kind of surprised with his career.

Speaker 3 (12:54):
Resurgence not, NO i mean he's back feeling. Healthy he looks,
good so obviously he has plenty more to. Give it's
been tough to have a league this, year and you
acknowledge that it changes the.

Speaker 13 (13:10):
Game might that encourage you to take the ball first on?

Speaker 3 (13:13):
Occasion, yeah we always think about it by, Game, tony
in terms of what you're trying to. DO i think
weather always plays a. Factor if weather's going to be
an issue where you want to have the win in
the fourth, quarter that certainly comes into.

Speaker 1 (13:25):
Play Quarterback Dylan gabriel talked about his recovery process through
his first two.

Speaker 13 (13:29):
Starts what A.

Speaker 7 (13:30):
Monday feel like for?

Speaker 14 (13:31):
You, yeah my mom used to be WHEN i was a,
kid SO i don't think anything will live up to
it my. Mom, NO i was just playing. Around But i'm.

Speaker 8 (13:43):
Good i'm. Good it's part of, football you know WHAT i,
Mean that's why you play. It we're, Good.

Speaker 10 (13:49):
Dylan it looked Like aaron had a few words for
you after the. Game just what was that, like you,
know just getting a few words of encouragement from the
quarterback of.

Speaker 7 (13:58):
That statue.

Speaker 14 (14:01):
As assuming HE'SA I i think just in, general a
lot of respect for any, opponent and, uh the competition And, uh,
YEAH i think just that was more respecting, afterwards and you,
know you kind of shake the to keep his hand.

Speaker 8 (14:16):
Afterwards so that's what we kind of. Did.

Speaker 4 (14:19):
Uh when you took over the, starter you talked about
being such a big fan Of jerry and he's yet
to F i, think have a game that he's wanted this.
Season so how do he help him get?

Speaker 8 (14:29):
There?

Speaker 14 (14:30):
YEAH i think it's it's continuing our work. Together you,
KNOW i Think jerry's hardest on himself and wants to
play at a level for us as a, team but
also you, know himself as. Well BUT i don't think
that's ever gonna, stop you, know.

Speaker 8 (14:45):
Our, approach you, know we believe In.

Speaker 14 (14:46):
Jerry, Uh jerry believes in, hisself AND i think we're
gonna just continue to work at.

Speaker 8 (14:51):
It you, know we.

Speaker 14 (14:51):
Gotta it's it's one of those things you gotta work
your way. Through but you, KNOW I i don't wanna
keep sounding undane and saying the same, thing but it
starts with, me you, know and being able to help
uh that. Connection then of, course just creating easy touches
and then the rest will. Come but the confidence building.

Speaker 8 (15:08):
For everyone is a part of it as. Well, yeah
we did you know TO u back in the, day
knew of.

Speaker 14 (15:13):
Too, yeah we played against each other once and of
course you know him playing In. Hawaii everyone everyone knew
kind of.

Speaker 8 (15:20):
Tool okay the first time too left in some starting
against each other in the OTHER i didn't know. THAT
i didn't know. That that's it's. Unique what what did you.

Speaker 13 (15:30):
Learn of about yourself in in your second?

Speaker 8 (15:34):
Start?

Speaker 14 (15:35):
UH i JUST i think you continue to learn from
each start each time going in. There there's a you
know a lot of details that you, wanna uh fine
tune and continue to get better at and get more
comfortable with. That but you, know margin ferry is small as,
Well SO I i THINK I i knew, that but
uh continue to learn that and and try to evolve

(15:56):
to to be better for this.

Speaker 8 (15:57):
Team oh you see red?

Speaker 6 (15:58):
Zone uh you know the red zone performance to your
own red zone performs and just sort of everybody just
seemed like so many things in the red zone or
throws into the red.

Speaker 7 (16:08):
Zone or uh or whatever or how how do you
feel like that? Way and what do you get?

Speaker 8 (16:12):
To?

Speaker 14 (16:12):
Yeah it needs to be. Better, uh that's that's plain and.
Simple we need to help. Ourselves and then two minute
was a a different kind of situation cause you're fighting
time in that w uh, sense but in the other two,
uh gotta get in the end, zone gotta score touchdowns
in the red, area not field.

Speaker 7 (16:27):
Goals you started to act k street building process With
jerry in the spring and ever since you got to
start kind of What i've y'all been doing in practice
outside of practice in the locker, room you, know wherever
else to you, know continue building that castor and continue
getting on the same.

Speaker 14 (16:42):
Page we we try to be present as we can
in practice to maximize those reps that we do have
together and when the ball gets to, 'em uh to
continue to build. That but then afterwards trying to get
extra as, well not, uh you, know just not trying
to beat you, know the bodies, up but still get
extra other it's top their, routes you, know catching and warm.

(17:02):
Up it's just little things like. That but LIKE i,
SAID i think that's something that you just gotta work
your way. Through and the belief In jerry is is
through the roof and everyone you know that's in there as,
Well so we're just gonna continue to build that trust.

Speaker 7 (17:14):
Together do you think targeting and thirteen times is a you,
know kind of representative of that trust, commissure.

Speaker 8 (17:20):
Y'all, YEAH i.

Speaker 14 (17:21):
DON'T i don't think it should stop just because of,
one you, know ye play that maybe didn't go his,
way but you know that's WHY i say.

Speaker 8 (17:28):
It there's uh a pitch and a catch and there's.

Speaker 14 (17:32):
Two you, know it takes two to, tangles so you
gotta kind of help uh each other on in that
way when you.

Speaker 4 (17:36):
Talk about always wanting plays, back is the miss To
jerry when he kind of scramble play where he kind
of help breaks lou is that it's the top.

Speaker 8 (17:44):
Of the lists for. Sure.

Speaker 14 (17:46):
YEAH i think there's a, bunch AND i think from
play to, play you, know there's uh a lot of
things that you go on back and you take notes
on and you uh wanna continue to, emphasize, uh BUT
i think you, know the common theme is when you
gotta you know you need, it you gotta go get,
it and and that's kind of uh what we need to.

Speaker 4 (18:02):
Do did anything stand out about?

Speaker 11 (18:04):
THAT i, mean but on that drone was a bad
row or could you stop moving or D, YEAH i
THINK i could have just put it on, him but
uh was kind of playing uh you, know, uh he
was starting to get even with the defender and starting
to get over the, Top SO i wanted to put
a little more.

Speaker 8 (18:17):
Touch.

Speaker 14 (18:18):
Uh but one of those throws in between, that you you,
know you look back and MAYBE i could've put the
ball on on his uh you, know left inside, shoulder
might m maybe even have been a tougher, catch or you,
know continue maybe just flattening the.

Speaker 8 (18:31):
Ball a little bit.

Speaker 4 (18:32):
More thing you drop back fifty eight times through more
to just how do you have how do you have
ower that number so that you know all the pressure.

Speaker 14 (18:41):
Isn't going to the House in a perfect, world you,
know you you always wanna be balanced in in a
lot of. Ways AND i think within the situation of the,
game you you have to attack it a certain, way
and at some point you're not fighting the, scoreboard you're fighting,
time and you know you wanna are kind of fighting

(19:03):
both at the same, time but you wanna kind of
attack it a little, more and that's that's what got
us into. That but, YEAH i think it's pretty obviously
winning football is is pretty, balanced and it it kind
of works in, unison but running the past to set
things up create more explosives, chunks, uh and just be
more efficient in. General so, yeah to to naked, eye

(19:25):
obviously there.

Speaker 3 (19:26):
Get in the first couple of, games you've bomb like
out a couple of deep.

Speaker 15 (19:29):
Passes since that been more to game played or they've
been called and it just hasn't been.

Speaker 14 (19:33):
There, NO i think it's it's been, called and there's
times of of getting into. IT i think always being
aware of immediate reactions and trying to be smart with the,
football knowing when there's times to take shots and. Not,
uh but also just knowing where we're at a at
certain points and wanting to play, positive efficient football and
continue to do. That but m, yeah we want more

(19:53):
chunks uh in the past game, uh and more explosive for.

Speaker 8 (19:56):
Sure jaden's uh not in the.

Speaker 6 (19:58):
Practice we're probably not gonna practice to play with his,
Leaders but, uh how much are you hoping that he gets?

Speaker 7 (20:03):
Beat how important is he everything that you guys?

Speaker 14 (20:05):
Do, Yeah david's. Big dave's really. Good you, know we
want him to play on our, team but we also
want him, healthy so uh doubt.

Speaker 4 (20:15):
Help did it always feel special to be left? Handed you,
Know tony talking about. It it's a first match up
with two. Lefties i'm sure you haven't seen a ton
in your, Day like did it always is it important to?
You did it matter at?

Speaker 14 (20:27):
All?

Speaker 8 (20:27):
That not?

Speaker 14 (20:28):
NECESSARILY i THINK i felt more specially WHEN i played.
Baseball you, know lefties were a little uh.

Speaker 8 (20:34):
You, KNOW I i guess not. Unique is yah more
sought after?

Speaker 14 (20:38):
Verse you know in football there's more, rieties but for
the most, part it's getting the you, know the ball
from POINT a to POINT. B so IT'S i think
it's at that point it's too each their.

Speaker 8 (20:48):
Own you, know were you a, pitcher we gonna say two? More,
yeah you tat? Issues keep playing as.

Speaker 10 (20:53):
Off on this week after the week after. Week how
are you as leader of the?

Speaker 8 (20:57):
Conference you? Know? Kay uh that thinks those in The. States,
yeah there's there's gotta be, change you.

Speaker 14 (21:06):
KNOW i think it's one of those you gotta work
your way through.

Speaker 8 (21:08):
It and you know that there there's some tough times
and you gotta work your way through. It that's point point.

Speaker 14 (21:15):
Blank you know you gotta get to, work, uh find different.
Solutions AND i Know i've said that, before but you
you have to go do that and then when you
get in those, moments.

Speaker 8 (21:22):
You gotta you gotta go take. It you, know there's
times you gotta, go uh win.

Speaker 14 (21:26):
A, game have a play or a chunk that could
uh be the, Difference and the difference is what everyone
strives for to to be on.

Speaker 15 (21:32):
Top so why do you think you guys can haven't
been able to do that so?

Speaker 8 (21:35):
Far cause we just haven't done. It so we need
To we need to change.

Speaker 14 (21:41):
It and LIKE i, said there's solutions that you wanna
find to find a better. Outcome but LIKE i, said
there's it comes down to a couple plays that could
be here or. There AND i think you can look
at third, downs we can be, better red area running the,
football being more efficient in the past. Game SO i
think if you look at it through that there's a
lot of areas we can be. Better but at a
certain point, too you, know it's the mentality that we

(22:03):
all have to come together as, Well.

Speaker 6 (22:05):
Dylan after the, Game Miles garrett expressed frustration that you
guys keep losing the same way every single. Week at
the same, time he was.

Speaker 1 (22:14):
Very supportive of you as a.

Speaker 9 (22:16):
Quarterback So i'm just wondering.

Speaker 6 (22:17):
What impact does that happen you when you hear him
talk about that and do you guys kind of walk
for his song Tog.

Speaker 14 (22:24):
Yeah he he cares about, winning you, know and it
matters to, Him so of course there's gonna be. Frustration
but at the same, time, uh you, KNOW i think
with leaders on our, team that's us being about our
action and being about you, know going to work and
that's what uh these guys. Do so we gotta continue
to work together and and financiers cause we want a better.

Speaker 8 (22:44):
Outcome we do. Appreciate what do you expect it for
your first film?

Speaker 4 (22:47):
Start, sorry my first home?

Speaker 9 (22:50):
Start?

Speaker 4 (22:50):
Bill he's, RIGHT i, mean what do you expect that
you're looking forward to being in front of the home
crowd for the first.

Speaker 8 (22:53):
TIME i.

Speaker 14 (22:54):
Am i'm, excited you know it'll be it'll be a
lot of fun to to start at home and excited
to be back, here so be.

Speaker 1 (23:03):
Fun wide Receiver Jerry judy discussed catching passes From Dylan
gabriel and his first two career. Starts what did you.

Speaker 6 (23:10):
Think of the job of it That dylan did and
what kinds of things do you think that you show In.

Speaker 15 (23:15):
PITTSBURGH i Think dylan did a, good uh a great,
job you, know taking away the defense give him you, Know,
UH i think he. Did he had a uh a
a good. GAME i feel, like you, know some, plays,
uh you, know we had some, drops he had some
miss uh and that's part of. Football but you, know

(23:37):
some some, THINGS i know we all wish we could get.
Back but you, know, OVERALL i think he had the deferent.

Speaker 14 (23:42):
Name how donicall is it as a receiver to go
from one quarterback to another and adjust to his?

Speaker 8 (23:49):
Throat?

Speaker 15 (23:51):
Uh, HONESTLY i don't think it's difficult at. All you,
know the football is still the same. Size you, know
it might spend a little, different but you still got
to catch the so it it's not really too much adjustment.

Speaker 8 (24:02):
Need to be.

Speaker 15 (24:02):
Done you, know we just gotta cross the trade on
the the ball coming towards, us and instead of making the,
play you, know you gotta catch the.

Speaker 8 (24:09):
Ball, first so didn't make a play. After then you
are very comple they need to do.

Speaker 12 (24:12):
THAT a couple years, Ago ethan was saying that, like
you guys are seeing normal looks and he expects like
a safety down at the film or are you seeing
opportunities down to? That, Again ethan was saying that he
expects like a extra player in the box and face.
Defensive are you see some opportunities down the field that,
like CAUSE i just aren't taking advantage of.

Speaker 8 (24:28):
It and it's so. WIDE i feel.

Speaker 15 (24:31):
Out last, week you, know uh they they they they
was a one hot, team so we had more opportunity
to uh to throw the ball.

Speaker 8 (24:38):
Downfield you, know LIKE.

Speaker 15 (24:40):
I said all, year all eleven people just gotta be
on the same page at the right, time you, know the,
officer the guy. One when one guy mess, up you,
know it's, real it's all hell break loose for the.
Offense but you, know we just gotta make sure everybody
on the same, page you, know and you, know execute
all that play to really get the exposure you need
because of.

Speaker 4 (24:59):
The struggles to start to see What jerry do you
feel personally and maybe as a, team you guys.

Speaker 8 (25:04):
Are, pressing, Pressing, yeah, no not.

Speaker 10 (25:11):
REALLY i.

Speaker 15 (25:12):
DON'T i don't think. REPRESSING i think the situations that
we been, in you, know really ah, great you, know
LIKE i. DON'T I i'm just thinking about my my
personal penity on on the fifteen yards and now we
behind the. Sticks now we we gotta throw the. Ball
we can't really run the ball offensively behind the. Sticks you,
know SO i already think we like forcing. ANYTHING i just,

(25:33):
think All, god we just gotta play better over as
a a as a, unit you, know and just as
you cute all play and do everybody do they?

Speaker 8 (25:40):
Job you? Know that's? It for?

Speaker 10 (25:41):
Real do you ever always sticks to keep?

Speaker 8 (25:43):
Captick i'm.

Speaker 15 (25:46):
Not i'm not sure you know that's that's that's a
hard question to answer for. Real, Uh i'm.

Speaker 8 (25:54):
Not i'm not sure you've said.

Speaker 7 (25:56):
That trust?

Speaker 2 (25:57):
Frustration does it did get any?

Speaker 8 (25:59):
Good it's a negga. Done it doesn't help.

Speaker 9 (26:01):
You, yeah but how are you still not? FRUSTRATED i,
mean how are you still able to block?

Speaker 13 (26:06):
Them how to make YOUR?

Speaker 8 (26:07):
PAIONI i, mean you gonna be. Frustrated it's.

Speaker 15 (26:10):
Football you gonna be frustrated during the, season each. Game you,
know you just can't let that frustrate your, frustration you,
know carry over until the next week and until your
playing style or into your. Habits you, know you could
be stressful or, frustrated but you just can't let that
hold you back on reaching your goals and doing what
you supposed to do to be better than.

Speaker 1 (26:30):
The wedding for?

Speaker 6 (26:31):
It but how do you how do you really sit
during the week.

Speaker 8 (26:34):
During, Week, uh you, know you just stay.

Speaker 15 (26:36):
Consistent IF i staying, consistent, preparing you, know just doing
more than what you did last. Week you, know whether
that's just running more routes after, practice or just catch
some more, drugs or just studying a little bit. More you, Know,
yeah that's what you gotta. Do it's not really could
do you gonna be frustrated explans for a.

Speaker 6 (26:56):
Job is your confidence that that you guys can do
your past the game you go off the part in
the league all rusty.

Speaker 8 (27:02):
Out. UH i think the the group of, guys we
got our.

Speaker 15 (27:05):
Offense you, know everybody love the, game everybody, competitive, right
AND i feel like the guy's Care so you know
we got all that three you know we gonna we
gonna have a.

Speaker 9 (27:13):
Chance sure can it be as simple as just you,
know one big game can kind of be you, know
get the ball roll wing that this team just needs
one of those games to to kind of a ignite
things for for.

Speaker 15 (27:26):
Sure, momentum you, know it's momentum is, big you, know
and once we d have that, MOMENTUM i feel, like you,
know we gonna just keep moving forward and keep all
rolling from.

Speaker 8 (27:33):
Them but we just gotta get that momentum.

Speaker 7 (27:36):
Going you're kind of along those, lines like for both
these teams having one in five records right, now the
two teams hungry for their second.

Speaker 13 (27:43):
Way what does the mentality need to be over you like?
This you?

Speaker 15 (27:49):
Know, EVER i think everybody just. Knew LIKE i said,
before everybody just need to focus on their assignment for this,
week you, know lock in on the little details and
just execute they players an, assignment you, know and we
just real go out he out here and win. Games
and that's all you gotta. Do, MAN i feel, like
ain't really too much else to. Say everybody just gotta
do they they. Jobs h huh on the?

Speaker 8 (28:08):
Axe uh so.

Speaker 6 (28:09):
When you get it on save six times and hit sixteen,
times and just the way you kept you don't wanna
have Any could you imagine WHAT i mean though you
gus could, hit BUT i, mean can you imagine.

Speaker 12 (28:21):
Having to do?

Speaker 13 (28:22):
That and what did that show you about?

Speaker 8 (28:24):
Him uh doing? Here?

Speaker 15 (28:25):
Competitor you, know, uh he gonna get hit and he
gonna get right back up and continue to or make
play for us and focus on the next, play you,
know Competitor, Dog you're in a young.

Speaker 4 (28:35):
Room Jerry one what's it like in there during the,
week is you guys should try to get this offense,
Go like what are the conversations like with you and
the younger?

Speaker 15 (28:42):
Team basically the same Thing i'm having. Here Everybody just
focus on their, job you. Know that's that's the main
the main goal and important. Part focus on your, job you,
know execute your. Assignment don't focus on what the next man,
doing or what's the next play or or the player
that just, happened and focus on that the current play
that that we running right, now and we'll be.

Speaker 13 (29:03):
Good, Okay david is.

Speaker 6 (29:06):
He gonna be practicing? Today how important Is david to
everything that you guys do and how muched you? Are
you hoping obvious that you can?

Speaker 15 (29:13):
Play you, know, Uh, david, uh you, know he a
big help in our. Group you, know he's an important
part of uh of our offense with him when it
comes to the run game and the passion.

Speaker 8 (29:23):
Name so, yeah you, know.

Speaker 15 (29:26):
You know obviously see you meet him out, there so you,
know hopefully he does recover good and you, know be
back for be back this week or the following.

Speaker 1 (29:34):
Week, finally Quarterback denzel war discussed going against Quarterback Tua
tugaby lay your thoughts on.

Speaker 13 (29:40):
What you see from. Him, YEAH i also gotta watched
some more, film but, uh solid, quarterback and you know
quarterback is gonna run the. Team so h got a
final way to alima a him just like we do
uh everybody.

Speaker 4 (29:54):
Else Without tyrek and or does it feel like?

Speaker 13 (29:58):
Guy, yeah, Definitely i'll say so uh, Him they Got,
waller SO i mean they definitely still got a lot
of talented guys over. There but uh YEAH i Put
wattle in that uh number one spot.

Speaker 8 (30:08):
Each and what DOES i?

Speaker 10 (30:09):
MEAN i, mean how does he you, know impact you
specifically in in and you guys in the secondary with
what he can do out of them?

Speaker 13 (30:18):
Back, yeah, Definitely uh gonna be testing the edges and
got a lot of. SPEED i can hit the, edge
so uh we gotta do a great job of tackling
on the perimeter and uh get him.

Speaker 8 (30:27):
Down then tell all.

Speaker 13 (30:28):
These teams that get rid of the ball so quick
against you, guys how does that change the way the
secondary has to like to create some. Sacks, yeah we
just gotta continue to play tight and just do our coverage.
STILL i, mean if guy's getting out, quick that that's
just how the game may go, sometimes but uh just
try to stay tight and and get him to hold
the ball a little longer as best as we. Can and,

(30:50):
uh those guys that get home he, gess, yeah you
been here for A cavin's.

Speaker 1 (30:55):
Coaching when you're out with your, friends do they what
do they used to say about?

Speaker 6 (31:01):
Him it's too much regular tribe that he should be
fighting you hear.

Speaker 13 (31:05):
That, NO i haven't heard. That but we we we
be around football so. Much WHEN i be at, home
we don't be talking too much about you, know another
Thing i'll Be i'll be talking about, yeah whatever else
is going, on hanging out with the family and, uh
enjoying my time. There so it's not really too much
talk going on about uh this, stuff you, know football
stuffing what we doing.

Speaker 8 (31:25):
Now but how do you think you just handling that that?

Speaker 13 (31:28):
Pressure, YEAH i think you had to ask him that
that's a that's a that's a question for.

Speaker 7 (31:31):
Him and, yeah and so after a game In, Pittsburgh
miles talking a little bit, about uh, know.

Speaker 6 (31:39):
This frustrating to use the same way every, week and
then also uh that it does kind of take its
to one him the same way that it that your
time is talked about how the losing really got to,
him just wondering how were you processing the. Losing you,
know you wanted to come to your. Audiency yea this
year and you guys see a big lofty, Goals so,
yeah you process.

Speaker 13 (31:58):
Off our process is it's still it still wins out
there to be. Had you, know we still got more
games to be. Played so it is what it. Is
the games that's already been played and our records not
where we have wanted it to. Be but there's still
opportunities to go out there and get some more wins
and stack them. Up so just gotta think about the
next game and see what we could do to get that.
Win and, uh that's my.

Speaker 4 (32:19):
Focus how did you see playing handle at? YOU i
have to get that you're so waiting the week and
how are you helping?

Speaker 8 (32:26):
Him?

Speaker 13 (32:28):
YEAH i think he handled it. WELL i mean it's,
Tough i'm, sure going from an entire different. ORGANIZATION i,
mean you got even things off the, field gotta find
a new, home new place to, stay come, in learn
the new playbook and everything like. That SO i think
he handled it will and it did. Well he's gonna
continue to get better and learn And uh, Yeah i'm
here to help support him as best way AS i

(32:48):
can and give him any tips, help BUT i think
he's gonna do.

Speaker 8 (32:52):
Wether was there anything you.

Speaker 4 (32:52):
Guys different as far as switching sides or switching game but,
yep yep it.

Speaker 10 (32:57):
Was, yeah is that WHAT I i.

Speaker 9 (33:00):
Guess would you have liked to have it matched up
a little more WITH?

Speaker 8 (33:02):
Dk and and why was that?

Speaker 5 (33:03):
Decision made it Put tyson on him a little more than?

Speaker 13 (33:05):
You, YEAH i don't think it was a decision to
Put tyson ON dk more than. Me but, yeah whatever
the game plan, is you, Know I'm i'm going out.
There i'm'a execute the game. Plan, uh whatever it. Is,
yeah a lot of. Guy every player on the team
is capable of making a. Play, yeah it's not just you,
know one, player but, yeah we're we're just executing what it.

Speaker 8 (33:28):
Is what's what's?

Speaker 13 (33:28):
It just more based on that of like where he.

Speaker 8 (33:30):
Was, like, yeah, yeah, okay just put this game.

Speaker 1 (33:36):
With post your gus beam like one and, five like
two teams really humbly that second, lay what's the kind
of mentality needs.

Speaker 7 (33:45):
To be in the?

Speaker 13 (33:45):
Matchup there's a, urgency, urgency you, know we trying to
get that. Win but, uh we don't gotta do nothing too.
Crazy just just do our. Job that's the biggest. Thing
do our, job and everybody. Execute everybody. Execute you, know
we gonna end up getting a great. Rest but that's
the biggest. Thing so don't gotta do too. Much throw many.

Speaker 6 (34:04):
Time since you guys have been at, home you feel
good to finally get back home in front of your home.

Speaker 13 (34:12):
Fo, yeah, yeah, Definitely uh looking forward to get back
in front of the home. Crowd you, know we gotta
win at home, already so let's let's run it back
and do it. Again and, uh that's gonna Be that's
gonna be fun getting, back uh to a home home.

Speaker 7 (34:24):
Again going from THE ks wide receiver to to water
lead wide receiver and when how do you kind of
really trust how your cover?

Speaker 13 (34:31):
Receiver yeah, Crazy, yeah just uh watching that guy how
he releases his, way he runs, routes uh from week
to week and, uh just getting a good read on
him and then just going from.

Speaker 7 (34:46):
There, yeah and then that chemistry us from uh you
know to and, yeah playing together for years and then
think out with many.

Speaker 13 (34:53):
Guys, yeah it's it's.

Speaker 14 (34:54):
Good you.

Speaker 13 (34:55):
KNOW I i don't like to put too much on
the other. Guys you, know as long AS i do
my job and uh EXECUTE i, signment you, Know i'm
i'm'a be wherever that ball is and where that play.

Speaker 15 (35:03):
Is red, zone defensive, probs thirty second zone IS confi
shorts and what do you think the solution?

Speaker 13 (35:11):
Is, yeah, DEFINITELY i mean we we gotta be. Better
you know that you pointed out uh one thing that
we could be, better but we we done well in
a lot of other categories as, well, Though but uh,
yeah definitely gotta be better in the red zone and
find a way to uh make a flip and not
let guys inside the end zone once they do get
in the red, zone you. Know but, YEAH i just
gotta execute down there and and try to keep guys

(35:34):
out as best way as we.

Speaker 5 (35:34):
Can you did hear you.

Speaker 8 (35:36):
Saying when your, home you don't try about?

Speaker 13 (35:38):
Football that makes?

Speaker 8 (35:38):
Sense the fans are?

Speaker 14 (35:40):
Angry did you guys have to get out to a
really fast, start because because that just get them back
on your side in this.

Speaker 13 (35:50):
Game, UH i think the goal is to definitely get
out to a fast, start but we gotta finish. THOUGH
i think we gotta finish these, games not like we're
getting blown out by a hundred points or anything like.
That so we just uh all do our job and
find a way to finish X q and uh find
a way to. Win you, know that's that's the biggest
thing in this. League it's hard to get wins and
we gotta find a way.

Speaker 10 (36:07):
To Do its pretty been a, frustrated like you, know
you guess it more lost the same, way same way.

Speaker 4 (36:14):
Everything how frustratings aft for you and how.

Speaker 13 (36:16):
Like how does that keep happening the Exactly, yeah L
likene just uh. Responded my focus it's it's still a
lot more wins out there on the you, know we
still got more games on the, table and my goal
is to find a way to get this next. Win
Th that's the main focus and the main, goal and
i'm'a do EVERYTHING i can and to make that happen
and uh bring a win to the. City so did
all walk on to twice to campbell?

Speaker 6 (36:38):
Topic do you think it pretty remarkable the way that
he actually did play metcalf of most of those, players
like Yo u was on, Touchdown but, yeah like most
of those places just get thrown in. There after three,
days it seemed like he did a pretty good job
their best.

Speaker 13 (36:52):
Receiver, yeah, Death, definitely he definitely did. Well like so
he he got great. TECHNIQUE i like his. Technique you,
know we all gotta learn and do, better uh and
progress our. Game but definitely a good player, though and
uh he did, well like you, said with all things
that coming into a new team and, everything but, uh
he's gonna be a good player for us and help us.

Speaker 8 (37:10):
Out could he explain how hard it is to look
for the?

Speaker 14 (37:16):
Ball?

Speaker 8 (37:17):
Yeah all?

Speaker 13 (37:19):
Over, yeah m, yes is that that? Hard, yeah it's
it's definitely a. TRANSITION i. Know er early on in my,
CAREER i, mean you just pretty much do what you're. Talking,
like early on in my, CAREER i feel LIKE i
was the one just kind of back to the ball
and and uh just looking to make plays through their.
Hands but as you continue to get reps and practice,
it like turning and looking for the, ball it becomes more.

(37:41):
Natural SO i feel, like, uh for, me it's more.
NATURAL i could just run and just kind of look
for the, ball and you KNOW i. DO i don't
feel like they're just throwing it at the. RECEIVER i
was trying to turn myself into the. Receiver BUT i
think with getting more, reps, uh he'll he'll do, well
let it and he'll start turning and finding it as.

Speaker 8 (37:56):
Well watching the receivers of ice or.

Speaker 13 (37:58):
Something what you Do oh, yeah, yeah just, EVERYTHING i, mean,
yeah just, watching having awareness to watch all their mannerisms
and their route eyes maybe getting big or hands coming,
up so it could really be anything in a route
that kind of and timing you kind of get the
understanding of the timing of a rout and and what
routes coming and be able to turn and look and

(38:19):
find the.

Speaker 7 (38:19):
Ball you talk to you, Know jerry Or jamai about
like what they're you, know do on their feet routes
and how they know up for the.

Speaker 8 (38:27):
Ball and do whatever.

Speaker 13 (38:28):
Else, no but, uhh you know that'd be a good.
CONVERSATION i should go talk to those guys and ask them.
That but NOW i haven't talked to him so much about.

Speaker 3 (38:34):
That IS dk or like particularly good at like, Masking
LIKE i know some guys have late means or, whatever
so he just particularly a depth of not giving it.

Speaker 13 (38:42):
Away he, SAID, Dk, YEAH, Dk, Yeah, yeah he's he's.
Good he did a great, job but showing late hands
and making a great Catch it was a great catch and.
Throw you know the THE, nfl that's gonna happen, sometimes and,
uh it just gotta play the next. Play it been
getting contact With. Braggy oh, yeah that's my brother. MAN
i talk to him man all the. Time he's doing.
Good he's doing. Good you, know we definitely miss, him

(39:03):
but he's gonna do well.
