Speaker 1 (00:05):
Welcome to this Tuesday edition of the From the Podium podcast.
I'm Gabe Klea. Browns are off today and they'll be
back at the Cross Country Mortgage Campus tomorrow to begin
preparations for the Miami Dolphins this coming Sunday. On today's episode,
you'll hear from head coach Kevin Stefanski, center Ethan Posk,
and linebacker Devin Bush. Start with head coach Kevin Stefanski.
You assessed the play of his offense through six weeks
of the season.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
Nor really have any injury updates based on what we
talked about last night. Obviously, you know, watch the tape
this morning and watch it now with the players and
a ton of areas that we just need to be
better and and need to be better in all aspects offense, defense,
special teams, players, coaches, you name it.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
We have to be better.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
That'll be our focus that so we'll focus on moving
forward so we can go play as a football team
and find a way to win and obviously got a
big one this week with Miami coming to town. That'll
be our sole focus today is that I'll take any questions.

Speaker 4 (01:02):
Hey, Kevin, does it feel like just nothing is coming easy?

Speaker 5 (01:05):
On offense. You know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (01:08):
Yeah, I do know what you mean. But we have
to do it, Scott.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
It's a matter of coaches putting guys in position to
make plays. Guys making plays when they're putting positions doing
their job. Don't expect anything to come easy.

Speaker 3 (01:22):
That's not the name of the game in this sport.
But we'll just keep grinding on.

Speaker 4 (01:26):
It and in search of fixing things or a spark.
You asked about play calling yesterday. Have you made a
decision there?

Speaker 2 (01:34):
Yeah, I'm gonna keep calling plays, but I want to
stress that this is uh. We have to get better
in so many areas, and that includes coaching, That includes
our how we teach our guys, how we put them
in different formations, the ways you run the ball, ways
you pass the ball, all the above.

Speaker 6 (01:51):
Yeah, Kevin, I mean arguab boy. In the first few
games he's played, quench On Judkins has been your best
threat on passing game as well as you know in
the running game. Obviously, can you explain why I only
touch the ball twelve times, especially none in the passing game.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
Yeah, obviously that game.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
If you look at the fourth quarter, the number of
plays that we had in that game, being down three
scores precluded us from running it, you know, our normal
based down offense.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
Fred, but he's obviously a key part of our offense.

Speaker 6 (02:25):
And what about you know, first and goal on the
three their way, he didn't touch the ball, I mean,
is that? I mean, is there any reason for that?

Speaker 2 (02:35):
No, we need to be better, whether we throw it
or pass it there in those situations, we have to
have to be better.

Speaker 7 (02:41):
Yeah, Kevin, I know you said you didn't have any
injury updates per se specific, but but Jack and Cam
those are your where you two starting tackles. Do you
feel confident that you might have one or both of them?
Or or is I mean, what sort of how do
you sort of approach it when there is sort of

(03:03):
that that much uncertainty about both those spots.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
Yeah, with both guys that are obviously dealing with different injuries,
if you will.

Speaker 5 (03:10):
So it's Monday.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
I think we need to get through the next couple
of days before we can really answer that. And it's
it's like anything else, there's uncertainty, but that's that's part
of the game.

Speaker 7 (03:20):
And another question about the penalties the last couple of
weeks have been what what what can you do during
the course of the week. I mean to to alleviate
that to to I know you're not coaching penalties, but
at the same time, you know, how do you how
do you fix that that specific area.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
Yeah, we focus very hard on those avoidable penalties, which
are the pre snap penalties. Obviously we had an illegal
formation there in the game. We have to be better
in those areas, and then you have to play with
clean technique. That's that's always going to be a part
of this as well. Understanding that your your hand placement,
how you you know, how you do your job is

(04:01):
very important.

Speaker 8 (04:02):
Okay, I know the score got out of hand in
the fourth quarter, but even in the first half, you
were throwing the ball much more than you were running
the ball. And given that was his second career started
in a place that's very difficult to play, would you
redo the game plan on second thought because it seemed
like you were still in the game ninety three and
you were throwing a lot.

Speaker 5 (04:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
I would tell you every game is its own thing, Tony,
where you're trying to take advantage of the looks that
the defense is giving you. I don't think it's any
secret that Quinn Shawn's a big part of our offense,
will always be a big part of our offense. But
so much of it is based on what's going on
in that particular game.

Speaker 8 (04:43):
And it looked like Aaron Rodgers played a large part
of the game behind a sixth offensive lineman and you
did some of that. But do you think you just
need to do more jumbo just to stabilize things on offense?

Speaker 2 (05:00):
I think you know, we did a decent amount of
it yesterday, Tony. Again, I think it's based on sometimes
health and you know what the bodies are that you
can use in those areas.

Speaker 3 (05:10):
But that's a really game plan specific.

Speaker 9 (05:13):
Yeah, Kevin, in a situation like this, of course, everybody's
going to look to the quarterback after you know, only
nine points are scored, and how the quarterback did can
you just address and especially because of your situation with
Shador and so many people clamoring for him and wanting
to see him, do you have thoughts on how the

(05:34):
offensive problems are run much deeper right now than quarterback
and that switching out the quarterback might not solve what
you have going on here.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
Yeah, I think just the big focus for us, Mary
Kay is we have to be better in all areas, players, coaches,
you name it. Obviously, you know, Dylan is in his
second start, some good things to build off of. He's learning,
just like all young players are learning for us right now,
and we'll continue to try to, you know, get him

(06:04):
to make those improvements that young players make and also
play better around them.

Speaker 3 (06:08):
That's our focus.

Speaker 10 (06:09):
Yeah, Kevin wanted to ask you about the downfield passing again,
as far as you know explosive plays go, do you
feel like with two starts under Dylan's belt here, that
it's going to be easier for you or more comfortable
for you to take some shots down the field and

(06:30):
try and open up this offense.

Speaker 5 (06:33):
Well, I think certainly, Darryl.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
We have to find ways to be explosive on offense,
and that can come via the run or the pass,
and you know, explosive pass can happen in a variety
of different ways. But it really comes down to our
ability as an offense to you know, put those guys
in position, protect the quarterback and then when those opportunities come,
we've got to let it rip. But I think that

(06:57):
can come in a variety of ways.

Speaker 10 (06:59):
And then Mike Tomlin had some comments today landed on
social media, in which he basically said he doesn't understand
why the Browns traded their opening day starter in Joe
Flacco to a division rival in the Bengals, and just
how surprised by that move going into the Steelers game,
he was, just you know, your thoughts on what he

(07:23):
had to say about that, and you know the fact
that he was so taken aback, just like you acknowledged
last week, you were a little surprised as well and
not anticipating that you guys would trade Joe this season.

Speaker 11 (07:38):
Yeah, I don't have a comment on that, Daryl Kevin,
just for him coming in for a couple practices and everything.
How did you think Tyson Campbell did?

Speaker 5 (07:47):
Yeah, I thought he battled.

Speaker 2 (07:48):
Obviously there's some place he wants back, but I thought,
you know, with the circumstances and him out there competing,
I thought there were some really good moments and things
that we will certainly clean up with him.

Speaker 11 (08:00):
And then just in terms of you in the play calling,
what would be the decision or maybe the point where
you would decide to give it up.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
Yeah, I think for us the focus is on being
better as an offense. Joe and that goes into a
bunch of different areas, and I know I can be
better for this football team. I know I can certainly
be better for this offense. But our focus is on
making sure that we all do our part in getting
this thing going.

Speaker 12 (08:30):
Evan, you know, in the past couple of weeks you
talked about how important your player's development is, especially at
the quarterback position, and you've also acknowledged that the issues
with the offense don't soly lie with the quarterback.

Speaker 5 (08:43):
Now.

Speaker 12 (08:43):
I know Joe has gone, so it's a bit of
a mow point, But what about this infrastructure in the
offense led you to believe that, you know, putting in
a rookie quarterback will lead to success and you know
positive development and growth in that player.

Speaker 2 (08:57):
Yeah, we trust our guys, Daniel, that are out there
across the board.

Speaker 3 (09:02):
We just have to all be better. That'll be our focus.

Speaker 13 (09:05):
Kevin, I know you're focused on cleaning those things up,
being better as a team. When you look at the
makeup of this team, of your coaching staff across the board,
what is it about this team that gives you the
confidence that you will be able to successfully clean things
up to be better each week?

Speaker 2 (09:23):
Yeah, I believe in the people we have caim, I
believe in the coaches, I believe in the players.

Speaker 3 (09:28):
I also believe we have a ton of room to improve.

Speaker 2 (09:32):
Don't none of us love the where we are, your record,
all those things, But we own it.

Speaker 3 (09:37):
We have to own it. We have to.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
I can acknowledge that that don't feel good about it,
but that's that's who we are, and all we can
do is effect that moving forward. We can't really can't
really worry about what's in the past.

Speaker 13 (09:50):
Joel Atonio last night said that you know, he sees
when things are working, the potential, the vision. Quinch On
said that too, But Joel said, every game with the
offensive struggling, there's like ten to fifteen plays where there's
a miss block or penalty. Is that a shared belief
that those things can directly lead to what you're looking

(10:12):
to achieve?

Speaker 2 (10:12):
Obviously, you know the goal offensively is to contribute to
score points to help this football team. We got to
focus on all all the little things that go about that.
But it doesn't get too far away from just simply
doing your job, doing what's asked of you. And I'm
talking to all of us players, coaches, you name it.

Speaker 14 (10:32):
Yeah, sorry about that. Mike can't walked across my keyboard.

Speaker 5 (10:37):
I'm very believable, Jeff.

Speaker 15 (10:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 14 (10:39):
So, Kevin, my question is, after every one of these
you say, well, we have to fix it. How do
you do that with so many inexperienced receivers after Jerry Judy.

Speaker 2 (10:51):
Yeah, I understand the question, Jeff, but I trust the
guys we have and when I say fix it, we
just have.

Speaker 5 (10:57):
To perform better.

Speaker 2 (10:59):
And that's that's how we teach it, how we coach it,
getting it out of our players throughout the week so
they feel confident doing it on Sunday. It's pretty simple.
We got to just do our job, play hard, play smart.

Speaker 14 (11:11):
But do you see improvements? It doesn't look like it
from the outside. There's things you see that you are progressing,
even though it might not show up on the scoreboard.

Speaker 2 (11:23):
Yeah, obviously we wanted to show up on the scoreboard.
That's where the true improvement will come. But we will
just focus on what we can control with all of
our players, young or old, and that's making sure we
utilize this week to find ways to improve.

Speaker 9 (11:38):
Kevin, you always talk about the precision in the passing
game and how vitally important that.

Speaker 5 (11:44):
Is for you guys.

Speaker 9 (11:45):
And I know it's a two way street between where
the receivers are on their routes and all those kinds
of things, But particularly as I was looking at red
zone passes and it just seemed like there were drops, tips, knockaways,
dropped interceptions. It just seemed like the you know, once
you guys got around down into the red zone and

(12:05):
trying to throw into the goal line that I'm thinking
specifically of, like the wide one to Jerry Judy, is
that because Dylan was under so much dress in those
types of situations or is he having an accuracy issue
per se, you know, in the red zone or you know,
end zone type of throws And if so, what can

(12:25):
you do about that?

Speaker 5 (12:27):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (12:28):
I think the red zone obviously, Mary Kay, you go
for three, you're making life hard on yourself and you
have to come away with touchdowns there Obviously ran out
of you know, ran out of time so to speak,
there on the at the end of the first half,
so the ball had to be end zone or out
of bounds. That limits you in what you can do,
of course, And then a couple of times down there

(12:50):
later in the third and fourth quarter we have to execute,
we have to do and that's I'm talking quarterback, running back, wide, receiver,
you name it. We all have to be at our
best in those moments when the field shrinks. We had
too many mistakes there that are going to hold you back.
And that's a little bit of what I mentioned before,
where we have to be better as coaches, we have

(13:11):
to be better as players so that we can make
sure we're all just doing our job in those moments.

Speaker 9 (13:15):
So you feel like you saw enough from Dylan throughout
the football game that those things will be correctable for
him and that moving forward with him and just getting
some of those things taken care of will do the trick.

Speaker 3 (13:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
Again, and you know, the quarterback position gets a lot
of scrutiny and we understand that, but we collective we
have to be better. There are things that we're doing
that that are good, things that we have to build
off of, and there's things that we have to get
better at.

Speaker 3 (13:46):
But it's never going to be about one person.

Speaker 4 (13:48):
Hey, Kevin, do you understand and how do you handle
the frustration of Miles and some of the other defensive
guys with the offense not supporting the defense.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
Yeah, we all share in the frustration Scott, when you
don't come away with the results that you work really
hard for. That's that's obvious. It's the greatest team game
there is. We all need each other players, coaches, offense, defense,
special teams. We need each other to go perform it
and find a way to win. That's how it goes.

Speaker 4 (14:20):
Has there been a conversation they're like, hang with us,
you know, try to stay up and you know, I
know that they know you're trying hard. But when Miles
expresses that frustration, it feels like it's getting him.

Speaker 2 (14:31):
Yeah, losing is not fun for anybody, Scott. I think
there's there's natural frustration that comes with that, and that's
us as a football team. We own it. We can't
hide from that. You have to acknowledge where we are.
Having said that, all that matters is what we do
moving forward.

Speaker 8 (14:47):
Two questions about looking for the ball. Did Isaiah Bond
have an explanation as to what the heck was going
on at the goal line when the ball hit him
in the helmet?

Speaker 5 (14:56):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (14:56):
Obviously miscommunication there and again that's our job to get
it cleaned up.

Speaker 8 (15:02):
And Tyson Campbell also had a great coverage but not
looking at the ball. Is that obviously a coaching point
this week? But is that in his past in a
Scott and report?

Speaker 3 (15:13):
Do you see that?

Speaker 5 (15:14):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (15:14):
I think that's you know, obviously we're now getting Tyson.
We'll coach him up.

Speaker 5 (15:19):
He's in great position.

Speaker 2 (15:21):
Not it's a matter of making a couple of those plays,
but really pleased with with where he is and he
will only get better with Jim, with Brandon Lynch, with
our coaches as we get him playing in the scheme center.

Speaker 1 (15:32):
Ethan Posk discussed blocking for Quinnjown Judkins.

Speaker 13 (15:35):
Ethan Joel last night after the game said, there's you know,
with the struggles of the offense, there's like ten to
fifteen plays every game that's either like an unblocked assignment
or a penalty. Are you seeing that same thing? And
what are the ways in which you guys as an
offensive line, as an and as an offense can fix that.

Speaker 5 (15:58):
Yeah. I wouldn't put a number on it.

Speaker 16 (16:00):
I would just say the margin for air is so
slim that you know, we just gotta do better as
an offense, and uh, we gotta we just got to
execute better. And I think we just gotta we just
gotta do.

Speaker 5 (16:19):
Better with that.

Speaker 13 (16:21):
Does that start in practice? Like what does that look
like for you guys?

Speaker 5 (16:25):
Yeah, I think it's just doing all the little things right.

Speaker 16 (16:27):
I think it's doing like practice and meetings and everything.
I don't think it needs to be some big change
or something. I think we just gotta we just gotta
you know, Wednesday is going to be a new day,
and just come in and really just just be on it.

Speaker 4 (16:44):
Hey, you think did uh did you feel like you
guys gave up on the run too soon yesterday? I
know you were struggling running, but it was still a
close game.

Speaker 5 (16:54):
You know, I feel like we gotta do what we
gotta do to win.

Speaker 16 (16:56):
In that two minute drive, we were moving the ball,
so we we gotta do whatever you gotta do to win.

Speaker 4 (17:02):
Does it feel like it puts pressure on the running
unit to have success early so that coach sticks with it.

Speaker 5 (17:10):
No, I think I don't think that.

Speaker 16 (17:12):
I think, uh, you know, I think this is the NFL,
and you know, you just got to run the ball
well if you want to be successful and own the clock,
and so we just got to do a better job.

Speaker 14 (17:22):
Ethan, do you think that you guys are have more
talent than the record shows, or does this record reflect
the overall talent on the team.

Speaker 16 (17:34):
No, I think, uh yeah, so I think we have
more talent. I think the team that plays the best wins,
not the team with the most talent wins. So I
think we just got to play better. We got to
play together, and so I think the team that plays
the best on Sunday wins, And we just got to
do better. We gotta, we got to do better one

(17:54):
play at a time. Just focus on one play, don't
focus on six he just focus on that one play
and then when that plays over, we got to focus
on that next play, and then that next play and
then that next play and just stack some good plays.

Speaker 9 (18:07):
Yeah, Ethan, are you guys seeing stacked boxes with Quinn
Sean right now? Because the passing game is kind of.

Speaker 16 (18:14):
Struggling, I'd say we're just seeing normal, normal looks we
expect to safety down, you know, and stuff like that.

Speaker 5 (18:23):
So, uh, we just we just got to execute.

Speaker 3 (18:26):
Better, Ethan.

Speaker 17 (18:28):
With with Dylan, obviously, yesterday he got hit I think
sixteen times. Just what did you guys as an offensive line,
you know, while you're kind of going through that, learn
about him, you know, standing back there and and still
sort of battling with you even though it was a
rougher day in that regard.

Speaker 5 (18:43):
Yeah, he's a tough kid. He's tough as nails. You know.

Speaker 16 (18:48):
I think he's uh, you know, he's getting better every day,
and you know, I love playing with him. You can
just tell, like he's he's a good person, he's a
good kid.

Speaker 5 (18:58):
He's he puts some much into it.

Speaker 16 (19:00):
And uh, I'm glad he's on my team and I'm
excited to see his growth.

Speaker 7 (19:06):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (19:07):
And like I said, we've got to do better as
an offense.

Speaker 17 (19:09):
And then, uh, Kevin didn't give us an update on
or didn't have an update on Cam or Jack for
for this week. But just I know, you know, you
guys talk all the time about like next man up,
But I get that, But just how difficult is it,
like sort of processing week to week that these injuries
keep happening and it's a new, new, different tackles in

(19:30):
there and get sort of building that continuity. And how
much has that kind of contributed you think to just
some of the issues you guys have had.

Speaker 5 (19:36):
Yeah, I'd say there's no excuses and this is football.

Speaker 16 (19:40):
Injuries happened so it's next man up, and uh, you know,
it's just part of football, so we've got to have
the next man up mentality, and uh, you know, this
is football. People are going to get hurt and stuff
like that, so, uh, you know, it's it's just football.

Speaker 4 (19:56):
Hey, Ethan, did you talk to Jack on the sideline?
It's the timing of the concussion seemed kind of different
because he was on the bench for a while before
he went to the tent, Like, did you notice something
going on with him?

Speaker 16 (20:09):
No? But I also don't have that very much communication
with Jack at all. I'm mostly talking to coach on
the sideline, or I'm talking to Wyatt and Joel. You know,
tackles are kind of you know, Jack will communicate mostly
with Wyatt and then a little bit with the tight
ends and everything, so.

Speaker 5 (20:28):
I don't really have that much communication with him.

Speaker 9 (20:30):
Yeah, Ethan, David Njok who was in and out of
that game, in and out of that game with a
couple of different injuries, and then finally he left in
the fourth quarter and Dylan was sacked a few more
times after that. So just wondering, you know, how important
is David to let's pick up in your blocking schemes
and how tough is it is it when a guy

(20:52):
like that also leaves the game.

Speaker 16 (20:54):
Yeah, I would say David is an extremely important p
star offense, and I hate that he got injured. I
would just say having him out there, it does help.
It helps with the chips and stuff too. But he's
he's such a threatening the past game running routes and
stuff that it helps Dylan. So you know, you know,

(21:15):
I love playing with Dave. As soon as we can
get him back. I hope we get him back, and
I hope I don't know anything about his injuries. I
hope it's not serious.

Speaker 1 (21:21):
Finally, linebacker Devin Bush, who in Week six played against
the team that drafted him tenth overall.

Speaker 4 (21:26):
Den after the game yesterday, Miles, you know, express his
frustration with the fact that you guys are losing the
same way right, playing pretty good defense in the offense
not scoring enough points. Where's your frustration level and how
do you think you're handling that is a defense as
a whole.

Speaker 18 (21:43):
Of course, losing is not fun in his league, But
I'm not gonna forget the fact that you know, we
still be in week seven.

Speaker 15 (21:50):
We have a lot of football left Yeah, we.

Speaker 18 (21:53):
Have a rookie quarterback, and you know, I'm not gonna
say he needs time to grow, but he's a rookie.

Speaker 15 (21:59):
You know, we all know who comes to that.

Speaker 18 (22:01):
We all gotta gotta you know, bring them along, be
there form support them in every way we can.

Speaker 15 (22:08):
And we've got to keep playing ball.

Speaker 5 (22:11):
And what did you.

Speaker 4 (22:11):
See from the run defense yesterday? I think the final
numbers were fine, but it felt like there were some
nine and ten yeard runs mixed in there.

Speaker 18 (22:18):
Yeah, for sure, it was a couple five plus that
we can do better. Of course, everything is not gonna
be perfect every Sunday, but in those type of games,
we need our best run defense, you know, to give
us a chance. Of course, like I said, having a
rookie quarterback, we got to be more aware and give

(22:39):
ourselves the best chance with the best field position.

Speaker 13 (22:41):
Hey, Devin, I asked Ken fans cast a couple of
guys after the game yesterday too. But as you guys
look to clean things up and the focus is being
better next week, what is it about this team, about
the makeup, about the coaching and the players that gives
you confidence that it's possible to get this done? To
achieve the goals that you have set in front of yourselves.

Speaker 15 (23:05):
We put the work in every day.

Speaker 18 (23:07):
I think we have a lot of belief in that
we hang our hands on that we cut the film on.
We got guys that's planned as hard as they could,
whatever moment they are, whatever situation, and we got guys
coming in our plan. And you know that's a good
sign when you when you in this situation because at
least you got guys you know they're gonna fight for it.

Speaker 13 (23:25):
And when you guys are trying to clean things up,
I mean, does it simply start at practice in the
preparation that you guys do. Is it really truly just
executing on game day?

Speaker 3 (23:35):
Like?

Speaker 13 (23:35):
Where where does that need to start in order both.

Speaker 15 (23:39):
Results, both practice and the game.

Speaker 9 (23:42):
Hey, Devin, just wondering, what did you see in Dylan
Gabriel yesterday? I know, you know you probably weren't able
to watch everything, but did you see in him taking
hit after hit and just getting back up and keep
you know, keeping on.

Speaker 15 (23:58):
I see the competitor.

Speaker 18 (24:00):
I've seen the guy facing his second start in the league,
facing a really really really good pass rush, him getting
the great experience that he got this past Sunday against
a really good defense that I've been working together for
a while. You know, they probe himselves on past rush
and that's exactly what I seen out there, and I've
seen Dylan handle it how you needed to handle it.

(24:21):
Of course we need more answers. Of course, of course
we need better answers. But I can say he's in
Guade's compete And.

Speaker 9 (24:26):
Do you feel like that Steelers defense from obviously you
know it well? Is that How tough must that be?
Not only for Dylan to have to go in there
and try to start that game in his second start,
but just all the brookies that you guys.

Speaker 18 (24:43):
Have, is that for young guys, Yeah, it's they first time,
it's they first time feeling it, it's they first time
seeing it. So there's nothing really in practice you can
replicate that. There's nothing really in the preseason, nothing replicate that.
You know, you got Cam Herod and TJ. Watt and
Hot Smith and her Big and those type of guys.
These guys are real deal rushers, and uh, you know

(25:04):
you're getting getting their best early and often because it is.

Speaker 15 (25:07):
A divisional game.

Speaker 18 (25:08):
So it's just it's just one of those situations to
where it's like we got to keep growing, we got
to keep learning, and of course we got a lot
of rookies playing for us, but it's their time to
grow and it's the time to get this experience that
they need.

Speaker 14 (25:17):
And Dyvin, how do you uh not get discouraged when
the defense plays so well but you don't get the
results on the scoreboard you want?

Speaker 18 (25:27):
That's a challenge, you know, each week is a new challenge.
You know, we we we got a lot of people
calling us the best defense, are one of the best defenses,
and each challenge, each week, that's a new challenge to
prove that.

Speaker 15 (25:39):
And you know, despite win or loss, you know when
we cut.

Speaker 18 (25:42):
On that film, you got to be able to present
that we are one of the best devises.

Speaker 15 (25:45):
So we got to prove that each and every week.

Speaker 14 (25:48):
And then how does it is it difficult not to
have a fracture when the defense is playing well but
the offense is not producing which fracture as in and
it's like us against them in the offense and defense
rather than yeah.

Speaker 18 (26:08):
It can it can look like that, It can feel
like that, but at the end of the day, you know,
we play our best, they play their best, and we
put it together, and I'm sure we like the result.

Speaker 4 (26:21):
Hey, Devin, how do you combat when teams are getting
the quarterbacks are getting the ball out of their hands
so fast? What can you do as a defense to
combat that?

Speaker 18 (26:31):
Not the situation? Mix some coverages, different coverages, different looks.
Of course, of course Miles is going to get most
of the attention. So if Miles is getting a bunch
of attention, you know, then we got other guys that
that are that are capable of winning. But if the
ball out so fast, it's our job, our second level defenders,
our third level defenders, and get the ball in the
ground so we can line up and uh, it won't

(26:52):
be so fast the next play.

Speaker 4 (26:54):
And you played there? How physical was that game yesterday?
And you know they're so many people from both teams
that left the game. And did it feel dirty at
all out there?

Speaker 5 (27:04):
Yeah? I was.

Speaker 18 (27:05):
I was AFC North Football for sure, but all fell
clean to you, It all felt right, thanks.

Speaker 9 (27:12):
Uh yeah, Devin, I was just wondering, I don't know
if you saw this or not yet that Mike Tomlin
kind of called out the Browns and questioned why they
would trade Joe Flacco to the Bengals and interdivision rival
after he was the day one starter here. Mike Thomlins
said he was shocked and maybe Andrew Barry is smarter
than them and smarter than him. So my question is,

(27:34):
knowing Mike Tomland the way that you know Mike Tomlan,
is this sort of surprising to you that he would
say something like that?

Speaker 15 (27:43):
Not really.

Speaker 18 (27:44):
I mean, he's been in the FC North his whole career.
He's made a living here, he has a home here
in the FC North, So I'm sure when he's seen
I trade, you know, inside the Sad Division, of course,
you know it's gonna it's gonna put everybody on HOWLERD
because it's a you know, Indivision trade eight. But I
mean that's a that's a call between the higher ups

(28:04):
and whatever whatever they got for.

Speaker 15 (28:06):
I'm sure they liked it and they pulled the trigger.

Speaker 1 (28:08):
