Recently, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, released a declassified file that she indicates contains overwhelming evidence that former President Barack Obama and his national security team manufactured and politicized intelligence pertaining to Russian collusion. This goes back to when candidate Donald Trump was accused of colluding with Russia in order to influence the 2016 presidential election. Gabbard indicated that she's submitted a criminal referral to the Department of Justice and as such, the Justice Department has formed a strike force to assess the evidence. Returning to Crosstalk to discuss this latest news was Robert Knight. He's a former Los Angeles Times news editor and columnist for the Washington Times as well as other publications. As he points out, the FBI and other intelligence agencies assessed the idea that the Russians were colluding with the Trump campaign so that he would win the 2016 election. They concluded that there was low intelligence (low value) so it probably wasn't true. However, they released the report saying just the opposite; that it had high value. They leaked it to the press who then accused Trump of colluding with the Russians and hearings took place, all designed to cripple Trump's presidency. So what's really going on here and why does it matter all these years later? Was Russian collusion designed to not merely destroy Trump but to protect Hillary Clinton. After all, wasn't it her campaign that allegedly paid for the Steele Dossier that kicked this off?
