Speaker 3 (00:18):
Absolutely? Ready for a break?
Speaker 4 (00:21):
Yeah, and so much for that.
Speaker 5 (00:23):
It's time for the Break on Dallas Cowboys dot Com

Speaker 6 (00:37):

episode number thirty six. Welcome to the latest edition of
the Breakware Lock from that WBC Mortgage Studios at the Star,
presented by lglg's the world's number one o l TV
brand for eleven years in county See why at LG

Speaker 4 (00:53):
O led Evo.
Speaker 6 (00:55):
All right, we got a lot of fun for you
guys today. We got forty five minutes.
Speaker 4 (00:58):
We're getting you.
Speaker 6 (00:59):
Ready for Cowboys versus Giants. Uh, you know, actually before
we before we get to our Cowboys. This isn't even
on my rundown, but I actually just see on on
on our TVs. Here in the studios, they're talking about
the game last night, the Commanders versus the Packers, My
assumption is that everybody at this table probably watched that
game or has heard something from that game.
Speaker 4 (01:19):
What did you think of that game?
Speaker 6 (01:20):
Because these are two teams the Cowboys were playing not
long environed. In what two weeks they'll be playing the
Packers and the Commanders come with and maybe a few
weeks after that. What were your thoughts as you watched
that game?
Speaker 2 (01:31):
Well, Washington looks weird two weeks in a row, but
they couldn't beat Cooper resh last year, So I don't
know what, you know, what all the fusses about there,
But green Bay looks real, real good, and Michael looks
better than he ever has. Maybe you get a little
bit more money, get some more motivation. I mean, his
back ain't hurting. Some some going on over there, but
green Bay offense looks in sync, and even when Michael's
(01:53):
not on the field, the green Bay defense looks good. So, uh,
the Cowboys have a have a handful Week four. But
when it comes to Washington.
Speaker 3 (02:01):
Yeah, I think it's more about Washington. I don't know
if Washington, and you know, I went into this year
kind of feeling like Philadelphia, Washington, Dallas, you know, maybe
in that order, uh, you know, maybe Washington above Philadelphia.
But it looks like this thing is more wide open
then than I even believed. And so you know, with
the situation, you've seen Philadelphia, we'll see the Giants this week.
(02:23):
We've talked about the Giants a bunch, but I just
kind of wonder. You know, there's some teams that have
started very well in this in these seasons and then
all of a sudden things start to fade and at
the at the end there, but you know, Green Bay
looks like a team that's they went out and they
got a defensive piece that's helping them quite a bit.
It's given them a little energy for their for their room.
(02:43):
They sustained an injury last night to the wide receiver,
broken collar bone. How bad is that going to hurt them?
But I just feel like the more that I watched
these teams play now, like I say, the Washington's, the Philadelphia's,
this NFC East I think is wide open, whereas before
I didn't think that was the case.
Speaker 7 (03:01):
Yeah, the Commanders, they I mean, they look like a
team that currently I'm not worried about, Like I trust
the Cowboys to be able to compete very well against them.
Once they face them. But the ones to keep an
eye on is the one that's coming up next, very
very close in a couple of weeks, and it's the Packers.
And you know, that's a team that's constantly giving you trouble.
(03:25):
And the more and more you see and the more
you see, I don't want to talk about my cow
but you see him on TV all the time. He
is a big headline there. So that's gonna be a
huge game. And the way that they're continuously now building
that momentum, uh, it's concerning. It can be scary. So
hopefully we'll see what happens in the next two games
or what would be another week.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
Before two weeks, two weeks this week.
Speaker 7 (03:50):
But for them, for them, it's one more week and
then Cowboys. So that's yeah, that's what I mean. We'll
see what happens. But it looks like they're coming in
with really really good momentum, wants to face the Cowboys,
and that's concerning.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
Yeah, I please. So, like, if I could just hate
on Green Bay for a second, cause I'm always gonna
find a way to hate on Green Bay, would you
chalk it up to, well, the Lions got coaching changes, right,
they just shipped off both their guys, so maybe the
Lions are a little bit rusting. Absolutely, and all you
got Jayden Dams this year, the year two quarterback thing, right,
The rookies always look good, but when they get the film,
maybe you look a little different.
Speaker 4 (04:24):
You know.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
Could you maybe see the you know, Browns giving them
a hard time or even Dallas giving them a hard
time when you know that comes.
Speaker 6 (04:31):
Yeah, I mean, I don't know what to necessarily think
of them relative to everyone else. Excuse me. What I
do know is I look at at this team and
I think right now they are They were a good
defense last year you had a freak like Michael Parsons.
I think they have the ability to be a great defense,
and that's the real difference. I still, their offense is
(04:52):
kind of you know, I don't know. I don't know
how much you can trust in offense where there isn't
really a go to skill player at the receiver position.
Speaker 4 (05:01):
Tucker Rafts starting to show you a little bit. So
that could feel a little interesting.
Speaker 6 (05:04):
But but that all being said, I think the strength
of that team is really their defense, and as long
as they're playing great defensive, they can continue to play
great defense.
Speaker 4 (05:11):
They're going to be in the mix with.
Speaker 7 (05:12):
As well as I was figure out how to finish games. Yeah,
that's the biggest thing against the Packers in years.
Speaker 3 (05:18):
Them really that people are kind of asking questions about
around the league gang of seven guys and stuff like that.
Is that that you knew I was going to work
that in there after I was taunted earlier and you know,
broadcast about it.
Speaker 8 (05:32):
The uh.
Speaker 3 (05:33):
Yeah. The the thing with the Packers is they're there there.
People are saying, listen, if you figure out their first fifteen,
you know that they don't. They don't play well beyond
their first fifteen offensively, So if all of a sudden
you find a way to weather the storm. Initially with
the Packers, now now Ambhar's right, their defense looks very good,
(05:53):
but offensively, you know, maybe you get us in a
game with them that you do hit some plays, you
do move the ball on them a little bit, but
their offense beyond that that start is kind of where,
you know, Okay, now they come back to the field
a little bit, So maybe that's something we need to
keep an eye on as we we got a couple
more games before that one.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
Yea, all right.
Speaker 4 (06:13):
Let's let's transition.
Speaker 6 (06:14):
Let's start talking a little bit more of this Cowboys
Giants matchup. Let's talk first about a couple of injuries.
Malie Cooker he was DMP earlier in the week, but
it was limited in practice yesterday with a foot injury.
What are we hearing about him and his status?
Speaker 3 (06:26):
Yeah, that was a toe injury and he was dealing
with that and I was told everything should be okay
with that, So not a worry there, That's from what
I heard initially.
Speaker 6 (06:36):
Let's slip over the Giant side. They had two linebackers
that are on their injury report that did not practice.
Michael McFadden, he's a foot injury, he has is he
on I artist, he has our eye R. And then
you've got linebacker Demetrius Flanagan files who also did not practice.
How much are they compromised as a defense with with
two linebackers now potentially down this game.
Speaker 3 (06:57):
But you get an idea you're going to take that
abdual car and playing some off ball linebacker this one.
Speaker 2 (07:01):
And I think that'll be fantastic for them for Cowboys.
For Cowboys, Michael McFadden is a really smart linebacker, physical
linebacker makes all the plays like so him just being
gone that's already humongous. But the fact that they're taking Carter.
If you want to, you know, put him in some
sort of pass coverage and drop him back and keep
him from rushing, then cool. Knock yourself out, player, And
(07:23):
now you only have to deal with two edges for
the most part, just as opposed to three. And that
goes back to the Micah thing when you know, when
he was here, people wanted to play him in linebacker
and drop them off. When you drop him in coverage,
that's one less rush for him, right, So if you
want to not rush Carter, then cool. I think the
Giant should just roll with their guy Mussau. And I'm
not a big fan of Mussau, but if I'm the Giants,
I don't want to take away one of my best
(07:45):
rushing And the Giants ain't got a whole bunch to
be smiled about, but Carter is one of them. So
if you want to keep him from rushing as a
as a cowboy, please by all.
Speaker 4 (07:51):
Means, was Carter and off ball? He wasn't. He didn't
planning all. I didn't see it off ball in college, right, it.
Speaker 3 (07:56):
Was he was an edge run right so and but
he started at Penn State as an off ball line.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
But here before last was he was just a linebacker guy.
And then then his last year in college he was
a pass us guy.
Speaker 6 (08:07):
So he has some background there that would be the
reason why you think maybe the Giants would.
Speaker 3 (08:11):
The hyphenated name Flannagan Fouls is the guy. He has
a calf injury, and that one doesn't sound like it's
going to allow him to play this week. And see,
you're right, they're gonna probably have to elevate some guys
and then move some guys around in order to make
that work.
Speaker 4 (08:24):
Yep, all right.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
Well, the one you need to think about, though, is
the offensive tackle Andrew Thomas. Because I heard from some
Giant people this morning driving in before watching I did
our podcast together this morning that that Andrew Thomas is
going to practice today practice yesterday. They think this is
closer to a game time decision. If everything goes well today,
(08:45):
they'll see how he responds tomorrow and then make that determination.
But there's a chance that Andrew Thomas, their talented tackle,
might play in this football game on Sunday.
Speaker 6 (08:58):
How much are they compromised going back to linebackers, how
does Dallas take advantage of them not having some of
their starters out there or their starter and some of
their depth out there at linebackers.
Speaker 3 (09:08):
Do you feel like in the middle of the field
that people the Commanders were attacking them a little bit
throwing the football. It's kind of what the vibe I got.
You know, the thing with McFadden is sidelined. The sideline
player plays well in coverage, you know, they've got this
smash rush. Their pass rush is really kind of neutralized
because their secondary doesn't play well, and so they have
(09:29):
some linebackers and now that are going to have to
play in this game. I would anticipate some crossing things,
you know, depending on how much man coverage they play.
This could be a big day for Jake Ferguson, you know,
when it comes to having to deal with these linebackers,
dealing with these safeties. But overall though, the Giants' secondary
(09:49):
really hurts their ability to rush the passer is the
ball gets out quick. Now there's plays you know there
were there when when when when they didn't have McFadden
and they gave and I know Voch will say probably
the same thing. I hope you will sure that that
when fadd went out all of a sudden, the linebacker,
the depth and all those things as far as where
how they were defending the middle of the field was
(10:10):
really just kind of went out the window for the Giants.
Speaker 2 (10:12):
Which is also why it's a good reason to get
turb and involved in the backfield, just to see how
they react to it, and if they react in a
way that's favorable to you to throw the.
Speaker 6 (10:20):
Turb Yeah, make them, make them adjust to that, and
see what they want to do. Do they want to
keep a linebacker on them or do they adjust? And
if they adjust, how does that affect the rest of
the secondary and how they want to cover those guys. So, yeah,
it's it's an interesting chess match that'll be played this
week with those linebackers now compromised.
Speaker 4 (10:36):
All right, let's move on. Let's talk a little bit
about the matchup.
Speaker 6 (10:39):
I want to start first with a topic that kind
of persists from the last game.
Speaker 4 (10:44):
Ceedee Lamb.
Speaker 6 (10:45):
He had, by all accounts, was having a really good
game for the Cowboys, and then he had just a
string of drops uncharacteristic for him, but certainly just got
in in a in a rut where he was just
he was he couldn't hang on to the ball. How
concerned are you going into this game that CD will
correct that and will be back on track as the
(11:07):
guy that's making the plays for the Cowboys.
Speaker 2 (11:09):
City's good to go. He's one of the best. And
every time he's had like a mental laps in the game,
the very next game he comes right back and tear
it up. I ain't going to talk about this long.
I feel really good about lamp coom back and being good.
Speaker 7 (11:20):
Yeah, that's not even a conversation a topic of a
conversation for me, because he has consistently shown in your
career that he's not an inconsistent guy. He's not someone
that's just out there dropping the ball and not making
those catches. So and again, we talked about it continuously.
He's been on TV shows and everything. You saw him
out there. He's been putting the work in since the
(11:43):
day he got back into Dallas. That same day he
started working on those So not concerned whatsoever. If anything,
I'm looking forward to it because he has that motivation
and that drive to come up and show up and
play even better.
Speaker 3 (11:56):
High volume receivers drop balls, that's fair, you know, and
look at he passed Jamar Chase for most drop balls.
He's he's one of the top drop ball receivers in
the National Football League. He's also targeted a lot. And
that's going to happen. You're going to make some plays,
You're going to miss some plays. He came out, he said, listen,
if you feel bad, just imagine how I feel right now.
(12:17):
You know, you can't feel any worse than I feel
about this. So, but to be honest with you, yeah,
I'm concerned. You know, I'm concerned because, like I said,
you know, he's one of these guys that has it's
just when the drops happen. You know, that's the thing
that you should be concerned about. Is is it something
he's going to fight? You know, he's a confident football player,
but he has a history. So does Jamar Chase, two
(12:38):
of the best receivers in the National Football League. To me,
this is an opportunity to get George Pickens going though too.
You know, take a little pressure off CD and and
and find a way to get you know, and I'm
going to make this. You know, Nick Eaton always talks
about the crazy predictions I got a couple of them.
This is probably going to be a really good game
for Tolbert. This is the time when Tolbert when we're
(12:59):
writing him off, writing him off, righting him off, and
then all of a sudden he has a really good game.
So overall, the wide receivers as a whole need to
help Ceedee Lamb in this football game.
Speaker 6 (13:08):
All right, we're gonna take an early break here. When
we come back, we got a little ye any time
with Amber Garcias. She's gonna have some questions for us.
We'll have a little fun there in the second segment,
and then in the third segment we'll get you guys
ready for Cowboys versus Giants. I got some questions about
the matchups and with the predictions later in the show.

Speaker 2 (16:26):
I know you heard because I heard it was I

I talked about going into the bushes.

All right?
Speaker 7 (16:51):
For today's game. I just have ten questions and basically
I'm gonna ask you, guys, I'm gonna give you three option.
Speaker 4 (16:58):
Last two options, two segments.
Speaker 7 (17:00):
Start sit or cut. And I want you to imagine this.
Every time I mentioned a player's name, we're talking about
their prime time, okay, and we're talking about the current
Cowboys roster. So I'm gonna be talking about previous players,
but imagine you picking them to plug into the Cowboys.
Speaker 3 (17:22):
Current rock.
Speaker 4 (17:24):
For example, at their prime.
Speaker 7 (17:26):
Their prime, like their prime year. Okay, Number one start
sit or cut? Prime? Does Brian Michael Irvin or Ceedee Lamb.
Speaker 2 (17:40):
I was born in ninety two, so I saw a
whole bunch of Dans Brant and I saw Danz Bryan
be fantastic when he was at his most fantastic. Even
in doing my research, I saw Michael Irvan run a
lot of slants and I know he won super bows.
And you probably can't say nothing bad about their nineties
characters up here, But I'm always picked in as over
(18:00):
anybody else because I saw Dad's do phenomenal football stuff.
So you say it was Deaz Irving and who cd
Ceedy Lamb.
Speaker 3 (18:10):
Boy.
Speaker 2 (18:10):
They don't want to hear me say it about Michael Irving.
I know he's nineties.
Speaker 3 (18:13):
I know all this I'll make I'll carry on this.
Speaker 2 (18:15):
But if it's modern football, more about moving guys around.
Speaker 3 (18:19):
All these guys, Yeah, we're good.
Speaker 2 (18:21):
If it's nineties football, I'm a part of me. If
it's current football, guys around is an advantage, right, Are
you sure we're good?
Speaker 4 (18:28):
I'm gonna go dead that, Okay, dead start.
Speaker 2 (18:33):
This is my starter. I'm gonna bench Michael Irving. I'm cutting.
See the lamb. I just pumped out. Cool, That's what
I'm at. But but I'm not. I'm not. I'm not
moving on Dad's one though. This is phenomenal at the
top of DES's game. If dads would have been with
Roger Troy whoever Dak prime days with Dak, that would
(18:54):
have been that would have been crazy.
Speaker 3 (18:55):
We go ahead, Derek, you got this one.
Speaker 6 (18:57):
Yeah, I'll start ceedee lamb, I'm gonna sitz cut the playmaker.
Speaker 2 (19:04):
Here almost h yeah.
Speaker 6 (19:06):
And and again it is not about like this is hard.
Obviously you're cutting anybody. But I do think in today's game,
I think I think I'd rather have the athleticism of
those other two guys.
Speaker 4 (19:19):
More than than Mike. It's that's a hard one, though,
they would have.
Speaker 6 (19:23):
That's a really hard one they would have found.
Speaker 3 (19:30):
I was staying. I was there that day. I was
standing leadership.
Speaker 7 (19:37):
You know, I was branding. You know what was that?
Speaker 6 (19:39):
Mary, You're like, this American football stuff is crazy.
Speaker 3 (19:42):
It's gonna go Michael Urban, It's all right to go
Does Bryant and it's gonna go CD lamb. That's the
way it's gonna go.
Speaker 4 (19:49):
Anither one of you guys love CD like I love CD.
Speaker 2 (19:52):
I love CD, And I really just kind of pump.
Speaker 3 (19:55):
The word cut kind of hurt me there because I
would I would say play move on something like that.
But no, I think CD. No I I this is
one of the most difficult ones. You're probably of the
ten you're gonna have, this one's probably gonna be the
most difficult one to have to deal with.
Speaker 4 (20:11):
Yeah, and I want them all three.
Speaker 3 (20:13):
I tell you what I argued for. I argued that
the Cowboys, uh Dallas Winning News had the top one
hundred Cowboys. I was fighting for Does Bryant to be
higher on that list.
Speaker 14 (20:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (20:23):
You know, when you start to tell you each up
to with Michael Irvan. He needs to be up there
with those receivers.
Speaker 4 (20:27):
Do you think he'll get Deze Man?
Speaker 3 (20:31):
I mean, because you're gona put him up there like
second all time touchdowns to this team, something like that
in Jason Witten number one. Yeah, does Brian's got to
be up there, right, I mean, yeah, it is. I would,
I would, I would like this. I would like to think.
I would like to think that that does. Bryant has
an absolute opp yes, as an opportunity to be in
the Ring of Honor. He's It's unfortunate, man, It's just
(20:55):
unfortunate that his time was. You know, I'm not there
nothing wrong with rome Man Romo. He and Romo were
freaking great. You know. It's just latter part that things
kind of kind of fell apart for him a little
bit there.
Speaker 7 (21:08):
All right, I'll live on to the next one while
you look at us. Yeah, uh so we keep it
going because I'm looking at the time. Okay, Question number
two start sit or cut Tony, Romo's clutchness, Troy's pocket presence,
Dak's leadership.
Speaker 4 (21:27):
Wait, so we're only taking that characteristic about.
Speaker 7 (21:30):
Them, Yes, not as a quarterback whole package.
Speaker 4 (21:37):
Team, right, So give me a give them to me again.
Speaker 7 (21:41):
Romo's clutchness of him making those caves and plays like that,
Aikman's pocket presence, Dak's leadership.
Speaker 3 (21:54):
I'll go give it to me Aikman, Romo Dak.
Speaker 2 (21:59):
Did Aikman have great pocket prisons because he had the
best offensive line of all time?
Speaker 3 (22:03):
And this guy killed me for all those years I
watched him. I watched him surgically, and we had good
defenses in Green Bay and with Reggie White and those guys, Yeah,
they had they had an offensive line was outstanding, he
had outstanding running back, and he had Michael Urban, who's
the best wide receiver. I think. But when you when
it came down to him, his ability to make plays
(22:25):
when they absolutely needed to make plays, he found the
way to move the team. And I just I have
the utmost respect for him. I think Romo. I think
Romo's the clutches with him. I think if you put
Roger Stallbach in that list and said clutchness of Roger Stabach,
I might have to put Roger Staubach over Troy Aikman
in that vote.
Speaker 2 (22:44):
For me, Well, I'll go, uh, Troy Dak and Tony
in that order. Yeah, Yep.
Speaker 6 (22:49):
I would do the same. I would go, I would
go Aikman, Dak and then Romo, and I would say
this too. I would even say, if you're talking about
the best attribute of these eyes, I would say Aikman's
arm was even better than his accuracy. He just had
the ability to put the ball on a dot, like
I mean, he was so good at that, And I
(23:11):
think that's honestly, I feel like if if Troy Aikman
had been in an offense where they didn't have the
kind of running game the Cowboys had, he might be
among the NFL's all time leading passers because of his
ability to throw the ball.
Speaker 4 (23:26):
They just didn't have to a lot of times.
Speaker 6 (23:27):
They ran the ball a lot when they could have,
when they could have thrown the ball, they ran the ball.
Speaker 3 (23:31):
They threw the ball to get a lead. Yeah, and
then they killed you with the running game, and then
they killed you with the pass rushing.
Speaker 6 (23:38):
Trust Matt, if you'd have been in one of those
air attack offenses where all they did was just throw,
he could have his numbers would be off the targe and.
Speaker 7 (23:44):
Just fine, yeah, fine, start cut or set, elite pass rusher,
shut down, corner, lockdown, linebacker, elite pass rusher, shut down corner,
log down linebacker.
Speaker 3 (24:01):
Okay, so now now, okay, so you're talking about Sanders,
I'm just you don't. Just in my mind, I'm thinking
of elite and and just to the players in that
cat in your categories. So you're thinking of you're thinking
of DeMarcus where you're thinking of Dion Sanders.
Speaker 2 (24:20):
And Shine Lee with two good knees.
Speaker 3 (24:22):
And a healthy Sean.
Speaker 4 (24:23):
This was easy for me.
Speaker 6 (24:25):
I go shut down corner, then elite rusher, then lockdown linebacker,
because I think when you got to shut down corner,
a true let's let's be clear, there have only been
probably three or forty three. Yeah, but if you got
a true shut down corner, he takes away half the
field and that forces defense is to adapt to him.
When you got an edge rusher who's really good, there
(24:46):
are things you can do. You can chip him, you
can you know, there are things you can do to
kind of neutralize him a little bit, can get rid
of the ball quick. When you got that shut down corner,
half your fields gone. So good luck with the other
half because half of the fields gone. I take the
shut down corner every day.
Speaker 2 (24:59):
I would pass rusher, and yeah, I would say corner.
But just because you're good at one corner doesn't mean
that you're good at the other one, you know what
I mean. So I'm gonna go a pass rusher. But
I keep thinking about Fred Warner and they the fits
that he's always.
Speaker 3 (25:13):
Yeah, I was trying to I was trying to think
of the.
Speaker 4 (25:15):
But you're gonna take You're gonna take him over Dion?
Speaker 2 (25:18):
No, probably not Fred.
Speaker 6 (25:20):
I mean you take you take the best player at
any at those three positions in the history of the NFL,
And how would you order them?
Speaker 4 (25:26):
Right, That's how I look at it.
Speaker 6 (25:28):
And if you tell me I can get Dion, I'm
taking Dion over whoever else, and then I'll take Lawrence Tape.
Speaker 2 (25:34):
I think in this era, I would take Laurence Tale
over Dion bro.
Speaker 3 (25:37):
That's a pass rusher. Yeah, to me, it's the pass rusher.
Then it's the corner, then it's the linebacker. That's right,
I would think, because to me, it's it's what they
always tell you this, it's it's guy. It's what is it?
Guy throwing the ball, Guy stopping there from throwing the ball,
guy protecting the guy throwing the ball. That's what they
(25:59):
always tell you about building teams. Give me, give me
the edge, give me that that that guy, give me
that edge, give me the then give me the corner.
Then give me the linebacker. Even though the Cowboys have
had a great history of linebackers. But I mean, you
start to talk about and I could go all the
way back to Harvey Martin. When you start to talking
about pass rushers, I could go back to that era.
(26:19):
You know, think about Charles Haley being here too. If
you want to do that, let.
Speaker 6 (26:23):
Me ask you this, does it not where does that
question not get influenced by We just finished saying there
may be three or four true shutdown corners in the
history of the NFL. We can name a whole list
of great edge rushers in the NFL. Is it not
easier to find a great edge rusher than it is
to find a true shutdown corner.
Speaker 2 (26:42):
I just think that you have more of them, like
just the the pipeline of like talent that comes out
of that's point.
Speaker 4 (26:50):
Yeah, there's more sure.
Speaker 2 (26:52):
But man, just because you're good at one corner corner,
just because you're good at corner, I mean that they
you know that your run game is good, or your
run defense is.
Speaker 4 (26:59):
Good just because you have a great edge. Sure, didn't
mean you're gonna have a good run defense. We've seen that.
Speaker 2 (27:04):
If I got a fantastic like if you got she
said pass rushing, pass rushing right, that doesn't mean that
doesn't mean you're gonna have a great run defense.
Speaker 3 (27:11):
No, she said pass right right.
Speaker 4 (27:14):
I'm saying that. I'm saying. His point was like you
stopped talking about you're knock gonna out.
Speaker 3 (27:19):
Yeah, that's that's why you got the damn linebacker, man,
you don't.
Speaker 4 (27:26):
I don't have the lineback.
Speaker 3 (27:27):
I got the pass rusher, I got the cover man,
and I got the linebacker. And make up for the end.
Speaker 4 (27:31):
That give me all three?
Speaker 3 (27:32):
Okay, Also doesn't your corner that doesn't tackle either.
Speaker 7 (27:38):
That's running backs. Emma Smith, Tony do set or Ezekiel
Elliott twenty sixteen.
Speaker 2 (27:45):
I was I was born ninety two, MB Come on, man,
I wouldn't hear uh, Tony. Ze Zeke was only really
good for I don't want to talk about Zeke like that,
but z was only good for like what three years? Something?
Two years? Two?
Speaker 3 (27:58):
Three years? It's probably three like.
Speaker 7 (28:00):
Truly, or we're just focusing on their like prime yearan Okay.
Speaker 3 (28:06):
You said twenty sixteen my career. You're talking about me now, listening?
Speaker 2 (28:10):
Okay, So twenty sixteen Z ninety three, seven seventy seven,
seven seven, Dorset.
Speaker 3 (28:19):
We give me Dorset, give me Smith, give me Zeke.
Speaker 4 (28:22):
Yeah, I'm witchy.
Speaker 6 (28:23):
I'm witchy. I think the skill set of Dorset like you, Yeah,
I think that would have been my guy.
Speaker 4 (28:29):
That would have been the starter.
Speaker 3 (28:30):
It was tough though, too, he was damn all these
are hard. Hey. Dorset played with an outstanding offensive line,
so did all these backs. If you want to look
at prime rookie rookie Zeke, Rookie Zeke's twenty sixteen offensive
line was really really a good line they played. But
Dorset played. But I think that Emmett had the best
(28:51):
offensive line of all the offensive lines they've ever had.
Speaker 2 (28:54):
Would you take fourteen Murray over sixteen Z Nope?
Speaker 4 (28:58):
Not for me. Wow, that's not for me. I think
the skill set of Zeke man that is better.
Speaker 2 (29:02):
That's a Zeke got a hell of a skills. Murray
was so tough though.
Speaker 3 (29:06):
That was remember that thing because then Murray got hurt,
and remember every we were always worried about Romo in
December and Roma all of a sudden in December start
throwing the ball well because he didn't have to throw
it the rest of the year, and Murray broke his hand.
Speaker 4 (29:18):
Or yeah, he would be. The difference for me.
Speaker 6 (29:19):
The difference for me is the breakaway speed. I think
that was Zeke and I don't think. I don't think
DeMarco had that. We saw DeMarco get run down a
few times, like Zeke wasn't getting run down his rookie year.
Like when he got behind the defense, he was looking
screen Bay.
Speaker 3 (29:32):
It was hard.
Speaker 2 (29:33):
They ran him down, but they ain't always bring him
down once they once they once they called him.
Speaker 6 (29:37):
I think I think I think Zeke's breakaway speed was
I wish he could.
Speaker 3 (29:41):
Have seen Dorset play. I didn't see you would have
liked to. I wasn't there.
Speaker 7 (29:47):
All right again, these are people you would play Okay,
thank your people, you would plug into the current roster. Okay, Berry,
Switzer on Landry Okay, Jimmy Johnson.
Speaker 15 (30:03):
Wait, so Landry Johnson, Switzer, Switzer. I just saw the
document give me, give me Landry Johnson, then Switzer.
Speaker 2 (30:15):
Yeah, Derek, I would go that that. Yeah, those guys. Yeah, yeah,
well I remember watching swissing them and boy they was
just wasn't disclant at all. Jimmy Hadding boys right when
I was one year old, one years old, war two
years old. Well yeah, so I'm going right that there.
Speaker 3 (30:31):
Yeah, I watched twenty years of Tom Landry.
Speaker 2 (30:33):
He was there.
Speaker 3 (30:33):
Yeah, I was there, So gimme Landry, give me Johnson,
give me Switzer. I might take Parcels over Switzer too.
Speaker 4 (30:41):
I was there for Parcels as well.
Speaker 3 (30:42):
Might take him. Just he took the pile of crap
team we had for three years, and I thought of
a playoff teams. That's that's a coach. We Cowboys just
got him too late in his career. Yeah, he could
have made a difference if you got him earlier.
Speaker 6 (30:54):
I was telling someone the other day, I was as
as I watched fired me, we got it, rather as
I watched that first year with Parcels.
Speaker 4 (31:03):
I started.
Speaker 6 (31:04):
That's when I started realizing the difference between coaches in
the NFL. He used to do this thing the middle
practice every practice where he basically bring the team up.
Speaker 4 (31:12):
He would talk them through a scenario.
Speaker 6 (31:14):
Random scenarios you are at you know, it's thirty seven
seconds left in the game, we have the ball on
our twenty seven yard line and we're down by four points,
and they would talk through the scenario. They would say,
here's what we will do in that scenario, and then
they would run through it. And that's how that's when
I started learning how some coaches prepare their teams for
(31:36):
every so when they got into games, well there was
no situation, and that was like weird for them.
Speaker 4 (31:41):
They were like prepared for anything after anything.
Speaker 3 (31:43):
Exactly to your point, remember the Giants game on Monday
night in New York and they threw the ball on
Antonio Bryant, the kickoff goes out of bounce, they make
one throw and then Billy kind of makes a long
field made a bunch of field goals at Yeah, but
that's stuff that Parcells kind of worked on the end
of the game adjustments that and he told you this
is gonna happen in a game, and every's like yeah, right, yeah,
(32:04):
and then sure enough it's like, how the hell we
do that? He worked on it on Wednesday. You did
that exact thing on Wednesday.
Speaker 2 (32:10):
Work on this, Yeah, that's all I have.
Speaker 6 (32:13):
More, Bud, I don't know, let's go to break, We'll

All right, let's let's jump back in Amber had some
good questions for us, ye any time with ag Let's
do a couple more questions before we get to our
wrap up and talk about the Cowboys Giants matchup.
Speaker 7 (35:13):
Okay, we'll do two more. Let's start sit or cut
Balanced offense, aggressive defense, elite special.
Speaker 3 (35:25):
Teams, offense defense, Special teams, Offense defense, special team, offense defense,
special teams.
Speaker 2 (35:36):
Aggressive defense means.
Speaker 3 (35:37):
What You're like, you're going out here.
Speaker 2 (35:43):
So shut down defense?
Speaker 3 (35:44):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (35:45):
Great offense, Yeah, great special teams.
Speaker 14 (35:47):
That's ee.
Speaker 2 (35:49):
I'm offense guy normally, and I have that bias. Yeah,
but if the other team can't score and winning, you know. So,
I always talk about being born in ninety two. I
saw the Ravens and Bucks win championships like that, like
eighty five bear yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah so And I'm
just imagined right now is more.
Speaker 7 (36:10):
I meant like, you have a good balance on offense.
You're not like the you know, you.
Speaker 3 (36:15):
Could run it and throw it. Yeah, I've seen the
bad in the Reds.
Speaker 2 (36:18):
I've seen the Cowboys and the Saints, bron have the
number one offense and go like eight and eight or something,
you know what I mean. And I just keep thinking about, man,
if Dak had to shut down defense and he only
had to score thirteen points, how fly would that be?
Give me the defense, first, offense, second teams there.
Speaker 4 (36:33):
Yep, I'm the same way defense, offense, special teams.
Speaker 7 (36:35):
Then.
Speaker 3 (36:35):
We seen recently though, like the Denver Broncos when Sean
Payton got him that they were really really good on
defense and terrible on offense with like the quarterback and
they didn't go anywhere. They lost a bunch of guys.
Speaker 6 (36:46):
That that also tells me they maybe they weren't one
of the great defenses when we've seen the great like
think about the Ravens, the Bucks, their offenses were bad
and those defenses were so great that they went straight
to a Super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (36:58):
And Peyton Manny Broncos was a was a really good
defense to sew was really good ones.
Speaker 7 (37:02):
Yeah, yeah, all right, ball control methodical offense, aggressive blitz
heavy defense, explosive, fast paced offense.
Speaker 4 (37:15):
Wait you said two offenses.
Speaker 3 (37:17):
Yeah, you could either have the ball control offense.
Speaker 7 (37:20):
They're very methodical about it, or if it.
Speaker 3 (37:22):
Weren't the air raid offense it goes after.
Speaker 2 (37:24):
You clock is king, clock is king. So I'm going
the slow, whoop your side the head kill time offense.
And I would much rather have a super high line
offense than a than a blitzing Like blitzing defense doesn't
really matter that much to me. I would rather the
defense just not give up points like you can blitz
(37:46):
and give up points, you know. So I'm taking the
two offenses first, slow methodical, then the super whoop your
face offense, and then I'm going blitzen defense.
Speaker 7 (37:55):
There.
Speaker 4 (37:56):
I agree with that.
Speaker 2 (37:57):
There you go, especially.
Speaker 3 (37:59):
Then there's nothing worse than somebody runs the football on
you and you can't stop them. I've stood on the
sidelines and watched that. It's so hard to go with.
Give me the methodical offense, Give me the defense that
splitz happy, because what's gonna happen is I'm gonna hold
the ball. I'm gonna force you to pass. So I
need I need the blitz I need. I need the
blitz happy offense. I need the blitz happy defense to
(38:21):
keep them from throwing the ball on me to get
back in the game. And then I'll take the high
flying offense.
Speaker 2 (38:28):
I got one shouts out to YETI the seventies Cowboys
offensive line, the nineties Cowboys offensive line, or the twenty fourteen, thirteen, twenty.
Speaker 6 (38:40):
Twenty with Doug fourteen twenty fourteen about She's a fantastic
document that I would have loved to have been a part
of because I'm an offensive line fan.
Speaker 2 (38:48):
But it's all good. I was late.
Speaker 3 (38:50):
She'll probably win an award I was.
Speaker 4 (38:51):
He's probably gonna win.
Speaker 2 (38:52):
I was not employed here when this was happening.
Speaker 3 (38:54):
Oh we're working here now. The uh we here maybe
the nineties Cowboys, the seventies Cowboys and then that group
with Ron Leary and Doug Free and those guys.
Speaker 6 (39:04):
This is a bit unfair because I've only watched two
of those lines. I didn't watch the seventies line, seventy.
Speaker 2 (39:08):
I've been coming all day. All the things I didn't see. Yeah,
hopefully no.
Speaker 3 (39:13):
But the seventies line was legit. That was that they
know Rayfield, right, Yeah, yeah, that that was Yeah. They
they had some they had some big time players.
Speaker 4 (39:24):
Yeah, I will trust you on that.
Speaker 6 (39:27):
I will say, but the nineties line is better, but
I don't know that. I would say the ninety nine
is better, and then I will say that the two
thousand yea Ambar played.
Speaker 3 (39:36):
Ambar played this game for me today. I appreciate that. Yeah,
this is this is this is simple for me because
it was the nineties. I mean I saw that firsthand.
And then I lived the seventies offensive line of going
to games and they were great. But man, that that
fourteen fifteenth sixteen line, Jason Garrett. They talked about, Hey,
we weren't very good, we were getting old. They replaced
(39:57):
a bunch of guys that thing and you throw Bill
Callahan in there coaching some of that stuff. Man, that was.
Speaker 2 (40:04):
The Cowboys ninety let's say the ninety three line. How
much different was it than the ninety six line when
Larry Allen was there. Oh look at your face? Yeah,
look at your Larry Allen was the reason.
Speaker 3 (40:15):
I'll tell you what, man, I mean, they they like
Mark Tuney, Nate. You know Eric Williams.
Speaker 4 (40:21):
I tell Eric Williams is see, I tell he was
on track to Hall.
Speaker 3 (40:24):
I've only seen I mean, I've saw Reggie White physically
break down not wanting to play. Eric Williams. That's how
bad that was for him. Yeah, and you know, I
don't think Eric Williams gets nearly the credit he curves. Man,
he was he was tough. He was tough on our guys.
Speaker 4 (40:43):
I agree. All right, we got a couple more minutes here.
Speaker 3 (40:46):
Let's see.
Speaker 6 (40:47):
I have a couple of questions for you, Gal. One
of them I want to want to get to. I
want you guys to rank this in order of importance,
these four items. And I'm talking specifically about this week,
Cowboys versus Giants. Run the ball, stop the run stop
Maleak neighbors protect Dak.
Speaker 4 (41:04):
How would you order those.
Speaker 6 (41:05):
As far as importance this week for the Cowboys.
Speaker 2 (41:08):
Keeping Dak safe is number one because that's where the
Giants are really good. You know, you don't want to
get in this situation where you have to throw the
ball in. The Giants pass rush is just beating you down.
So if you can keep Dak safe, then I think
that's one for me. Uh the those corners, you can
find ways to whoop up on those guys. So passing
the you know, passing the ball is going to be
how you really get away with this thing. Then the
(41:30):
Cowboys running the ball is going to be second to me.
Even if Neighbors ends up getting like eighty ninety some yards,
you don't really see any you know, nobody else really
going crazy like that. Uh So I'm going to prioritize
Cowboys offense first, and then Neighbors and then run stopping
the run. You know, the Giants will stop themselves from
running the football. So don't don't even don't even that's.
Speaker 6 (41:53):
I don't want you to say that, because then they
we're gonna come up here Monday is like a hundred
rushing yard.
Speaker 3 (41:58):
Like, if that's the case, you better hit the After
the draft show sounded. Yeah, uh, let me run the football.
I think that'll take a lot of pressure off him.
Then I'm gonna stop neighbors. Then I'm going to then
I'm going to what to protect Dac, protect Dak, and
then the final winner, stop the run.
Speaker 17 (42:17):
Oh there were four.
Speaker 6 (42:18):
Run the ball, stop the run, stop the leak, neighbors,
and then protect Dak.
Speaker 7 (42:22):
Okay, I'm gonna go with protect Dak, stop the run,
run the ball, and then stop neighbors.
Speaker 2 (42:34):
Okay, all right, I would love it if the if
the Cowboys got in his groove to where you know,
last last week Williams got fifteen carries, Let's see, let's
see what Williams looked like getting twenty carries. Yeah, you know,
let's just let's just see if the Cowboys can turn
into the team that can win. Run the football. You
want Dak to kind of take over and whoop up
on the Giants, because that's what Dak always does. But
(42:54):
let's see, like, let's further improve this run game unit.
Clayton Adams came out and said, you know, half the
time we were looking fantastic. Half the time we didn't
like we you know, we just didn't look all that great,
let's work on the because this is the Giants, right
and the Cowboys shouldn't be overlooking anybody. But if there's
a game where you can work on stuff and get
better at stuff, and maybe you don't have to throw
your best punch, this the game. So let's work on
(43:17):
the fundamentals, the basics. Let's run the ball, and let's
I'm trying.
Speaker 7 (43:20):
That's why I put stopping the run higher than what
you did, because again, I've seen it so many times
again and again when they haven't nobody running back and
they still are able to put on yards against you
and have trouble. And so that's why I'm still regardless
of it being the Giants, regardless of what we saw
(43:41):
last week, regardless of the people they currently have over there,
and what the offensive line is doing or not doing. Uh,
it's still something that you always have to be aware of.
Speaker 4 (43:50):
Yeah, I look at it.
Speaker 6 (43:50):
I say this matchup is made for them to want
to run the ball and not just work on it.
But you think about the fact that this is a
defense that lost to rush the pass it set and
let's all so not forget the compromise the linebacker. So
if there's ever a week where it lines up to say, hey,
pound this team and let's see how many yards you
can get running.
Speaker 3 (44:08):
Get on the ground, running the ball.
Speaker 4 (44:10):
This is the.
Speaker 3 (44:10):
Week running the ball protects doac Yeah, just absolutely, just
absolutely all right, let's get the predictions.
Speaker 4 (44:15):
What do you guys think is gonna happen this weekend?
Speaker 6 (44:17):
Give me your your prediction, and your final score will
bots you up.
Speaker 2 (44:20):
Cowboys beating the hell out of Giants by like thirty or.
Speaker 4 (44:22):
Something whatever, So ten to forty, I mean thirty eight to.
Speaker 2 (44:28):
Six or whatever, right, smoking the hell out of the
Giants side.
Speaker 7 (44:31):
They only got six again.
Speaker 2 (44:33):
Whatever, two field goals. They deserve it. Coming out of
you know, the Cowboys gonna whoop them early. Then coming
out of half, the Giants gonna get some energy and
they're gonna get stopped and kicks.
Speaker 3 (44:43):
Tell why they're gonna get some energy in the second half.
Speaker 2 (44:46):
Hey man, the Cowboys like to let people back in
the game. You know. But but you know, maybe or
Bran or Brant after some sort of delay, the defense
come out and play batters.
Speaker 4 (44:55):
No such thing as a lay in the Dome stadium.
Speaker 2 (44:56):
It's fair enough.
Speaker 3 (44:57):
It's not gonna happen. There's the lights open the roof.
This is what I think is gonna happen. This is
again the crazy prediction. Thank you Nick Eatman for all this.
I think Dallas is gonna get a comfortable lead in
the first half of this football game, and then I
think they're gonna go to Jackson Dart in the second
half and all of a sudden, now it's going to
turn into some close moments, you know. But Dallas got
(45:18):
him going a little bit. They'll get him going a
little bit. There might be a little more winning for
the Giants. So I think Dallas wins this football game.
I'm gonna say Dallas wins this game like it's gonna
be twenty seven. I think the Giants are probably gonna
make it a little bit closer. I'm gonna say they're
gonna get sixteen in this game, but it's gonna be
because Jackson Dart takes over at half and all of
a sudden, the Giants get a little life. That's what
(45:38):
I was trying to get you to say.
Speaker 2 (45:40):
I'm not gonna say what you want me to say.
Speaker 7 (45:43):
Even though I like to put a little more respect
on the Giants based because they are still an NFL
teams but but I still I still think this is
gonna be a game where the Cowboys do dominate the game,
mainly because again the result that they had last week
(46:04):
against the Eagles, and they were not satisfied at the end.
You saw Brian Shechltenheimer and the way he spoke. I
think he's very well motivated. You're going up in another
division opponents, So I think they go and score more
than thirty points. I can see a very balanced offense
where they're able to run and they're able to throw
(46:25):
those passes, City Lamb having a great game, and then
on defense, I think they kind of put up a
more consistent game from beginning to end. I think they're
able to use this game to just get more in
line with what they're actually planning on doing for the rest.
Speaker 3 (46:43):
Of the season.
Speaker 7 (46:45):
So yeah, I go more than thirty and Giants are
still able to score about twelve points.
Speaker 3 (46:51):
Oh yeah.
Speaker 6 (46:52):
I look at this team and I say, this is
a team the Cowboys have traditionally over the last several
years put up a lot of points on.
Speaker 4 (46:58):
I don't think this is any different.
Speaker 6 (46:59):
Look at the first half of last week's game, Cowboys
were scoring and the Eagles was scoring, but it was
a game where both teams, both offenses were rolling.
Speaker 4 (47:07):
I don't think this.
Speaker 6 (47:08):
I think that that break probably did more to slow
them down than even the Eagles did offensively. So I
think the Cowboys are going to continue that scoring this week.
I think they win big forty one seventeen. They put
up some forty burgers on this team before, so I
think this offense is probably one of the better iterations
of the Cowboys over the last several years. Offensively, I
(47:29):
think they're gonna put up big points this week. I
think Picking's gonna get involved. He's gonna have a big day.
We'll see how'll go.
Speaker 7 (47:34):
Not related, but why is it called forty burgers?
Speaker 2 (47:39):
I don't know.
Speaker 6 (47:39):
I just heard them and I liked it.
Speaker 4 (47:43):
You know, so it works, it works. It sounds good, right,
I guess, Yeah, me too, That's.
Speaker 3 (47:49):
What I heard. Words of Rowan Kaeberner.
Speaker 4 (47:51):
Yeah, got me very nicely. All right, appreciate you guys.
Jumps back next week.
Speaker 6 (47:55):
