Speaker 3 (00:18):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (00:19):
Are you ready for a break?
Speaker 4 (00:20):
Absolutely?
Speaker 2 (00:21):
Ready for a break?
Speaker 4 (00:23):
Yeah, And so much for that.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
It's time for the Break on Dallas Cowboys dot Com
with Mbar Garcia, Brian brought Us, Votch Lombardi and Derek Eagleton.
Speaker 5 (00:40):
It is Wednesday, December thirty, first, twenty twenty five Season
twenty one, episode number one oh two. Walk up up
to the latest edition of The Rake Live from s
WBC Mortgage Studios. At the start Pretending by LGLG is
the world's number one O led TV brand for eleven
years in counting Shy at LG dot Com for slash
o led Evo. It is the fine time we will
be on the air in the twenty twenty five calendar year.
(01:04):
It is not the end of our season, though. We
keep this going all the way through till the beginning
of the league year, and then we'll reset after the
beginning of the league year, so there's still lots to
talk about. Next week, we'll be moving to one show
a week as our off season schedule dictates. We will
be on Wednesdays at eleven am, so you guys make
sure you continue to follow us. We'll have all the
(01:24):
latest of what's happening around here at the Star and
an off season that, if yesterday was any indication, might
be full of fireworks.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (01:35):
It was kind of shocking to me yesterday when I
first started hearing news that Trayvon Diggs had been released,
not that he would get released, because I fully expected
that he was not going to be back on the
team next year. The timing, though, felt a little bit
off to me, just because obviously you still got a
(01:56):
game left to play. That all being set, Here's what
I'd like to know for me. You guys, if you
had to sum up Trayvon diggs career with the Cowboys,
how would you How would you tell that story?
Speaker 2 (02:07):
Fotch? You know, The Star in Frisco is a fascinating place.
I just ran the Tyrann Smith. You know what I'm saying.
I just like to come out and just flex on that.
Speaker 5 (02:16):
I would say, Yeah, you just want to throw that
out flex a little bit nothing to do with this,
but also to but also.
Speaker 3 (02:21):
To when I got to a couple of kick slides,
ripped swimming.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
We didn't even talk. Was up tired, and that was it.
He was going on bro Fell.
Speaker 6 (02:30):
He was dying to share that like literally has nothing
to do with the conversation.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
No, no, but he has something because you bumping the
I'm gonna I'm gonna watch this.
Speaker 5 (02:41):
Watch what he's about.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
This star is a fascinating place. So what happens when
you know, I walked back and forward to the parking garage.
There got a super secret parking spot somewhere, but I parked.
Speaker 5 (02:50):
Out there with the regular fans.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
But go ahead, But I parked in the parking garage
and I walked past Tredy Diggs's made back every day.
You know what I'm saying, Huh, it wasn't it wasn't
that tree trade parking his little cubby right here, his
little mayback. I think I think he heard me talking
about it one time. I think he almost hit me
trying to park that thing one time. But I know
it's trades made back, wasn't there? I was like, all right,
trades made back? What's going on? And then we get
the buzz, you know what I'm saying, Hey, Trey got
(03:14):
a bit of but to you answer your question, I
just wanted to flex with my peoples after I saw
Trades made back a bumping the Tyren Smith. I think
Cowboy fans remember or I think I think people remember
anybody on what you did the majority of the time
and the last thing they remember, right, So Trey had
an incredible twenty twenty one. Yeah, Matt Evan picks tied
(03:34):
direct with Everson wallas Man ridiculous, like boy, I think
we got us one here, all pro, but he did
that one time. He had a cool, like a cool
rookie year, a cool freshman campaign, but he had a
ridiculous twenty twenty one. We haven't seen that since. Whether
it be injury, whether it be he's gambling and giving
up big yards or whatever. The majority of what we
saw was Trey's not playing games or Tray's giving up
(03:57):
big plays. One fantastic year, but we're gonna grade you
on the majority, and the last thing that we saw
from you, and the last thing that Cowboys saw from
Trey is this feeling that he's always powdering and that
he's not buying in and that he's not team guy.
So that's what I think people's lasting impression of Trey
is gonna be I think for the next few weeks
we're gonna see on Twitter, social media is we're gonna
(04:18):
see highlight tapes of him catching eleven picks and how
fun that was, and we're gonna be ungrateful, how this
defense had, you know, caught picks like that, How great
our offense would be if we had that. Trevon Diggs.
I think we're gonna think about that for about a
week and then Trey's gonna go to another team. He's
gonna deflect the pass, he's gonna catch a pick, and
we're gonna go We're gonna damn boy. But I think
ultimately Trey wasn't buying in guy. Trey has some toxic
(04:43):
toxicity about him. I think that's just kind of what's
flowing out there amongst beat writers against you know, people
saying it and just a guy that wasn't bought in
it had one good year, and that's that's where we're at, and.
Speaker 3 (04:54):
You want to go sure.
Speaker 6 (04:56):
I think with him.
Speaker 3 (05:00):
Just flicked on all, especially to me, a guy has
none of us can do that. I haven't I did that.
Speaker 6 (05:14):
With Trevon.
Speaker 7 (05:15):
I think it's wasted opportunity for him and very unfortunate
because he is a very talented player when he puts
his time, dedication, and heart into it. We've seen it before,
We've seen what a successful year can look like for him.
But for whatever reason, the relationship here with the Cowboys
(05:38):
started becoming to become an issue. And it's all going
back to training camp. We saw it him going out
to find medical opinions somewhere else, which is fine.
Speaker 6 (05:48):
I was all for it.
Speaker 7 (05:49):
But the more you see the little things that kept happening,
the more you realize that he came down to in me,
in my opinion, is the communication. It's all about communication.
There's no problem if you communicate things. The Cowboys are
more than willing to help their players out. Whether you
(06:11):
like it or not, whether you love or hate the Cowboys,
the reality is this is a great place to be
if you're a player. You have so many opportunities if
you really take advantage of it. And the lack of leadership,
I know that's something that Jerry Jones mentioned around training
camp that he was looking for people, specifically him, to
be a leader here in this defense. And I don't
(06:34):
fault him for that, for him not being that type
of leader as far as being vocal, because not everyone
has that type of personality. But when you're not vocal
and don't lead in that way, you have to be
able to fill up the buckets in other areas. You
have to be able to show up and make the
commitment of you're gonna be out here with us and
(06:55):
be present, be part of the team. Whether you like
the coaching or not, you have to show up, still
show up. And here's the thing. Yes, he's not with
the Cowboys right now and he's hoping to get another
contract and go with another team. I don't know what
time specifically, the whole clearing waiver three o'clock, but it
(07:18):
comes down to what he put on tape this year.
I know he struggled with injuries and all of that,
but at the end of the day, your lack of
dedication during the week shows up on game day.
Speaker 6 (07:30):
It shows up on how you play.
Speaker 7 (07:32):
And he's had so much great tape in the past.
Even when he was criticized about him not wanting to
tackle and not be a great tackler, there were times
where he was still getting his hands on the ball
and those things would still make up for the lack
of quote unquote not being a great tackler. And now
(07:53):
what did he live on tape? You turn on the
tape this year and there's not much because at the
end like this, the past few weeks, he said himself,
he was one hundred percent healthy according to himself.
Speaker 6 (08:06):
So what you're left on tape with I don't know.
Speaker 7 (08:09):
And he's gonna end up in some other team, you know.
I still think he's talented, but I think he liked
the commitment part of it that it translates on the field.
Speaker 3 (08:21):
Yeah. I talked to two teams yet to say, both
teams in the playoffs, very prominent teams in the playoffs
and are probably going to do well in the playoffs.
And one team said that they would absolutely see somebody
taking a flyer on him because of the way the
contract is if they need help.
Speaker 5 (08:38):
Because there's no guarantees at this point, right, no guarantee
one last week contract is.
Speaker 3 (08:42):
Very very reasonable. Amber you're absolutely right about the tape
and stuff like that. So one team said they would
see they could see a playoff team taking a flyer
this way, and the other playoff team said absolutely not
that they don't see him getting claimed. So that's you know,
two teams right there. Like I said, Texas one, both
teams in the player off hunt. Both teams will probably
be teams we'll be talking about in the going forward.
(09:04):
So what I think about the whole Digs situation, this
is how I look at it. Extremely talented man that's
now broken. He's a broken guy, and he's broken in
a way in the Dallas Cowboys way of things. Hopefully
he'll go on and he'll kind of figure some things out.
But when he came out of Alabama and we were
all like talking about him as potentially the seventeenth overall pick,
(09:27):
it ended up being ceedee lamb. And so then you
grab him at sixty. You can't believe how the drafters
how excited at watch Lombardi A. Brian brought us, Dave Hellman,
all of us. You know that we're dealing with the
draft here in Dallas Cowboys dot Com and watch on
his own channel as well. How excited we were to
see Diggs get drafted here and here's a guy that
had first round talent, played at the at a blue
(09:48):
blood university at Alabama, played for a coach that coached
him really really hard, and you saw the talent, you
saw the player, you saw the ability, you saw these things.
So and we saw that early in his career. But
what we've seen in the last couple of years, we've
seen a broken player and a broken player in a
way that he you know, Ambart talks about the commitment
and you know, maybe there's some personal things that came.
(10:10):
Maybe he took it personal with the Joneses said about him,
Maybe he took it personal with britt Brown. Maybe there's
reasons why it was worth five hundred thousand dollars to
him not to be around. You can imagine the easiest
way that Adam Pacific and Todd Williams give you money
is workout bonuses. Five hundred thousand dollars. He said, you
know what, it's not that important to me to be
there and do this. And maybe he was a broken
(10:30):
man because his spirit had been broken. Here he loses
a friend and you know, his friend gets traded, he
loses a coach. You know, here's a football player that
maybe the given s meter was really really low, and
you know, and so that's why I kind of feel
like that what we saw early is that type of player.
What we saw at the end was not a guy
(10:51):
that was that was long to be in here anymore.
And maybe he'll go on and do other things for
other teams, but it's a shame that he didn't finish
out how he started here.
Speaker 5 (11:00):
Yeah, I will say this, and I always try very
hard to do this in any critique I give is
separate the person from the player. So none of this
is personal to Tray. I think he's a you know,
whatever is he is in his personal life. I don't
know him personally. I know the interactions that I've had
with him here, but not the interactions that I don't
(11:21):
have personal interactions with him. That being said, here's my
assessment of him. I think he lacks a certain level
of and you can call it maturity, you can call
it professionalism, but I think there is a way, and
ever you alluded to it, there is a way to
handle situations in a professional environment that I think that
I think he's sometimes lacked. You look at what happened
(11:44):
last summer with him training away from the facility. I
have no problem with someone deciding they want to train
away from the facility or get a second opinion or
anything like that. The thought, though, is, if you have
an employer who's paying you a ton of money, you
should be coordinated with them on what you're doing. So
if they say, okay, you're going to be training away,
we need you here for these dates, for these particular events,
(12:06):
for these particular things, then you say, great, I'm going
to make myself available to be there for those things
while I'm also training there, and if I need to
fly back to do it, I will do it because
that's a part of the commitment that I've made to
the team. You look at him what supposedly happened on
Christmas night, where there is a process if you want
to not fly back with the team from a road game.
He did not follow that process. He decided after the game,
(12:29):
I'm going to ask, now, hey, can I stay back?
And it's like, that's not the way we do it.
But then he decides to stay back, which again I
have no problem with him making whatever decision he wanted
to make for himself and his family, But there are
consequences that come with that, And that's the difference between
handling things as a mature, professional adult, where you say,
(12:50):
what's the protocol. I'm going to follow the protocol to
make sure that I'm doing the things that I'm that
I've committed myself to do when I sign this contract.
They're paying me, and I have a commitment to follow
the rules that they provide for me. And when you
don't do that, that says to me, there's a lack
there of that level of professionalism, that level of maturity.
There is no doubt this guy provided a season in
(13:11):
twenty twenty one that may have been the best cornerback
season I've ever witnessed here working for the Cowboys in
the twenty seven years I've been here. There were magical moments,
and you could put it up against Deron Bland's year
as well. But it was so good, it was so
great that we did a documentary on it because it
was so special. It was so different, you know, And
so I respect the fact that he put up that
(13:33):
kind of year, and I think that should be remembered.
He should be remembered in a positive way for that
year that he put up for Cowboys fans to enjoy,
because this is entertainment at the end of the day.
But as you said, Voch, you remember it also about
how it ended, and when you look at it with
the injuries, with the instances where he showed that lack
of maturity, professionalism, whatever you want to call it. I
(13:54):
think ultimately that also has to color how you look
at him and what he provided for the Cowboys in
the year that he was here, and that's not as
positive as you would have wanted to be thinking about
who he was coming off of college.
Speaker 2 (14:07):
Honestly too, as Cowboy viewers fans, you know, we can't
for years and in decades be like, well, this is
a team that has no culture of accountability. It's a
team that they don't stand on bid ands. They let
the players do what they want. There was just this
narrative around Shoddy. He was too buddy buddy, yeah, you know,
the hey man, all this jumping around, celebrating. When is
(14:27):
he gonna dis for somebody? I think I don't know nothing.
I ain't got jery number. I think this came down
to the coach being sick of it, like, hey, I
can't do it. I don't care how much money you make.
I don't care how long you've been playing, whatever time records,
I don't care about. None of that is not fitting
what I'm trying to do here. Now. Maybe in past administrations,
(14:50):
Diggs had people on his team, that'll kind of let
him get away with some stuff, assuming I don't know.
Speaker 7 (14:54):
Different, when you're producing on the field, there are certain
things that you're willing to be with getting away with
letting this slide.
Speaker 6 (15:01):
Oh God, here we go again.
Speaker 7 (15:02):
But he's a painton and he's a headache, but he's
producing on the field. Say but but there's a difference
there too, in that sense, he wasn't really producing at
that level that we all know he can.
Speaker 2 (15:16):
This is what I wonder. I wonder what was the
head coach's opinion on Micah when he was sitting out.
Michael's the guy that's going to produce some play for you.
I ain't saying Michael's not buying in guy, but when
you going through contract stuff, you either practicing what have
so you're not I want to know the coach's opinion
on like superstar level Michael, who's who's in the prime
of his stuff, right. I wonder if he would have
(15:37):
stood on the same business with him as he did. Well,
I will say this, I think I don't think. I
don't think Micah gets ends up not here. Sure if
the coach wasn't okay with him not being here like
I think the coach would have been like in his
first year where that you know, use the organization, you
can speak to this Brian used the organization trying to
give you everything you want when that first year, right,
because they like, if we whatever you're asking for, we're
(15:57):
trying to give you every chance to win.
Speaker 5 (15:59):
If he would have been standing on the table like
hey man, I need this guy here, I need this
guy here, I have a hard time thinking that he
would have ultimately not been here. In some way, I
think there was, at least in my mind, I think
he was comfortable with the idea that again, you're either
on board with the program and you're all in no
matter what, or you're not. And if you're not, I
(16:21):
think this coach has made it clear if you're not
doing the things you need to do, you won't play
and you may not be here.
Speaker 3 (16:28):
Yeah, I think you're in a situation with Diggs. I
think this is not just about this year. I think
it goes back two years ago. You know, I think
it goes back to some Alhara stuff. I think it
goes back to some Jerry Jones. The way the rehab
went when he was here. You know, the availability even
when he was here. I think this is why we
had the five hundred thousand dollars question. He did not
want to work with Brett Brown anymore. You know, he
(16:49):
did not want to go out there and do everything
he needed to. Remember how this was leading up to
training camp and we kept talking about Digs, We kept
talking about him. When did he become serious about the rehab?
Jerry jones As even went on our station at one
O five three the Fan and was talking about that,
like some of the buy in and you know, availability
and stuff like that. All of a sudden it became
close to training camp two years ago, and what did
(17:11):
he do? He tried to ramp it up, you know,
and if he'd have ramped it up, although there was
some questions about his work ethic then the professionalism, Derek
that you're talking about. This is something that Shody has
had to kind of deal with. This from stuff that
when he was an assistant coach here. So you know, yeah,
I totally I totally understand a coach saying I had enough.
(17:32):
It's about the buy in, it's about all that stuff.
But this is something that really really was under the
mic at the Mike McCarthy administration that they allowed to happen,
that they shouldn't have let it happen.
Speaker 5 (17:42):
All right, we're gonna take our first break. We'll come back.
We're going to dive inside the brain of Brian brought us.

In the second segment of The Break, we alive from
the SWBC Mortgage studios at the Star Bryant. Let's dive
into your brain. What you got up there?
Speaker 3 (20:46):
Yeah, how about this one. I'll start with you on
this one. Ag. Why do we get so mad at
Terrence Steele?
Speaker 5 (20:54):
Hey he just went in, all right.
Speaker 6 (20:59):
I I didn't get so mad at Terrence?
Speaker 3 (21:02):
Why do we get so mad? Why is it? Why
is the fan base? Do we get so mad at Terrence? Still?
Speaker 7 (21:07):
Then I will say, personally hoping, I have a soft
spot for Terrence Steel because the way he started his
career here, he was giving a chance. Nobody knew why
that decision was made. We were all like, oh my god,
(21:28):
what are we doing here? And eventually he proved to
be a very decent player, that he could get the
job done. And then as the years go on, you
realize he's not the most consistent guy. And I think
he has his moments, but eventually, and I don't know,
because he is.
Speaker 6 (21:47):
Healthy, but he dealt with.
Speaker 2 (21:51):
Plays.
Speaker 6 (21:52):
Yeah, he's dealt with injuries. And I'm not trying to
blame it on the injuries, but.
Speaker 7 (21:57):
I don't really know how to process or evaluate his
current state, because every year I see players are as
someone who should continue to progress and improve, and he hasn't.
He kind of hit that plateau effect where he's just
kind of there and it makes mistake. I think like
(22:19):
the power has kind of gone down with him, And yeah,
it's frustrating when you see the mistakes.
Speaker 6 (22:27):
Being repeated over and over again.
Speaker 7 (22:29):
So I don't there's nothing specific as far as like,
oh my god, this guy is doing this or that
to where you're faced. It's just frustrating. It's frustrating when
you see something that continues to occur every single time
and not improve in that sense. I think though after
his where we are with his contract, but no for
(22:55):
real like versus Yeah.
Speaker 5 (22:58):
They could make a movie, can make a little bit
like that, They could do what they.
Speaker 2 (23:01):
Want to do with this. They got some more years
where he can cost a little bit, but I don't
think they'll do it.
Speaker 7 (23:05):
I think that's where we're at that point though, where
maybe after this year it's typed to probably upgrade. I
think they got out of him what they could from
given how he came here to the Cowboys to begin with.
I think his career was extended more than I expected,
but now it's time to probably upgrade the position, Derek.
Speaker 3 (23:26):
Why do we get so mad at Terrence still?
Speaker 5 (23:28):
Well, I get frustrated with him because the blunt reality
is I want him to be better than he is. Sure,
and what I mean by that is I've seen moments
when he plays really well and I'm just like, yeah,
But there are also some games where he surprises you
and he's like, oh, oh, this was a big time
pass rusher that he handled pretty well, and then the
(23:48):
next game it's not right. It's just it's it's the
lack of consistency. And again, maybe that's who he is. Maybe,
and I think sometimes as fans we see that and
we expect, Okay, well, you can do that for one game,
he can do it for seventeen and he can win
All Pro. When the reality is and maybe just he
doesn't have that capability. He's doing the very best he can.
(24:09):
But that's what makes it frustrating. And I will also
throw this in. I think this is the plight of
right tackles in the National Football League by and large,
Like you go back and listen think about some of
the right tackles that have been on this team. Typically
they are the second best tackle on their team, and
it's very rare that people just think they're great. It's
usually the guy it's the Doug Freeze, right, it's the
Raw Petiti's, it's it's all these guys that you have
(24:30):
on the right side, and it's just kind of like
they're not as good, but they have a couple of
games and then you start thinking, oh, maybe they can
be great, and it's like, no, there's a reason why
they are where they are. It's because they have some
warts in their game and they're not as good as
the guy that's on the left side typically, and there's
a reason why. And so I think it's just frustrating it.
(24:52):
I don't think it's his fault. I've given up thinking
it's his fault anymore. This is just who he is
as a player. There's some things he does really well.
There's some things he doesn't very well, and you just
have to mask that if you're if you're coaching.
Speaker 3 (25:03):
Him, Coach Lombardi, why do you get so mad at Terrence? Still?
Speaker 2 (25:07):
Coach, ain't mad at Terrence. I think Terrence has exceeded
way further than what I thought he was gonna be
the thing about this National Football League that said, m
I got Will Steel. We talk about this all the time.
You got specimens and you got hard workers, you know
what I'm saying. Some people just specimens. Now, if you
a specimen and you work hard, then you own something.
(25:30):
Tyler Smith is one of those big titles of he's
a specimen.
Speaker 5 (25:33):
Now you're going to the Hall of Fame.
Speaker 2 (25:35):
You work hard, you know what I'm saying. Terrence Steele
got like miserables like length and height and all, but
he's no specimen. But he worked real, real hard. Now
why people mad at Terrence Steele because he had a
banger of a year where he worked real, real hard
and he looked like a right tackle that could be
a right tackle there for you for a while. Sure
(25:56):
Terrence got hurt though, and I think him being injured
put him back a little bit. So while he's out
there fighting with specimens as hard work guy, maybe he
missed a year of like development or something like that,
you know what I'm saying, And he doesn't have the
pure specimen stuff to fall back on. Tyler Guiden's technically
a specimen. His techniques horrible. Yeah, boy can move Okamley,
(26:20):
he's six', eight you know WHAT i, mean so he
can recover and figure it all. Out if you don't
have specimen genetics mom and dad to fall back, on
it's gonna get tough in the long. Run terror still
had his, time but he ain't got that genetics to
fall back. On SO i think that's why people mad
At terran because we saw it fantastic one time and he.
(26:40):
Couldn't he couldn't rebound on.
Speaker 3 (26:42):
That, Derek, yes. Sir what would this offense look like
Without Javonte.
Speaker 5 (26:48):
Williams, well one Thing i'm starting to realize is the
Biggest it wouldn't be necessarily in the in the rushing
attempts and the yards you get. There it would be
in your passing. Game this passing game that's been so
great this. Year if you didn't Have Javonte williams being
able to pick up, blitzes this would look, very very,
(27:09):
different BECAUSE i don't think they have. That i've seen
another running back on this team who can do it
as effectively As Javonte. WILLIAMS i think your offense would
have been very, WELL i shouldn't say, pedestrian but they
certainly wouldn't have been as great as they, were they
wouldn't have been leading THE nfl in my, opinion in,
passing but For Javonte. Williams so that's really the big
difference for. ME i Think Malie davis is a really good.
(27:32):
RUNNER i think he would have been a really good
running runner for them all year if he had to
be their. STARTER i just don't think they would have
had the same success passing them.
Speaker 3 (27:38):
All what about you, there, coach what would this offense
look like Without Javonte.
Speaker 2 (27:44):
Williams coach says. THIS i Think javonte is starting to
plant seeds in our mind that we can take any
running back and just kind of put, it just just
kind of put him in a system.
Speaker 3 (27:56):
And over, there just told you if you pass, PROTECTION
i think about.
Speaker 2 (27:59):
THAT i speak for fans And twitter people than. YOU
i Think Malik davis's, Success Rego dado's success also has
people can feeling that. Way SO i think a lot
of people would feel like we've No Javonte. Williams, oh
we got a great offensive, line a great. Scheme you
will just fit somebody. In but let me tell y'all
something for Every Javonte williams that works there's A Dalvin
cook that. Don't there's An Ezekiel elliott that. Don't so
(28:22):
if it's me talking To Jerry, jones AND i hope he's,
LISTENING i don't know Whatever bru's laughing. AT i wasn't
even telling the joke right. There If Jerry jones was
listening on his podcast studio that he's paid, FOR i would,
say do what you can to try to Retain williams
dead young running. Back not a lot of carries on.
Him you, know he was in he was in his
rotation of running, backs And devin got hurt a, little
but he ain't got a bunch of carries. ON i
(28:43):
don't want to live in this world where we are
starting over from complete backstuff to where you can, block
you can run and you can, catch to where we
may have a running back back and run and can't,
block or running back back and run hard but can't,
catch or you can catch but you can't run. HARD
i Think javonte is a is a is a great
triple threat in that kind of. Way AND i don't
want to see this world where we in the middle
(29:05):
of this offense being fantastic and you walk into an
off season Saying, hey IF i could just build this,
defense it'll. WORK i don't want to then be, like,
well let's just you, know mess over the running back,
situation and now you lose a big part of your
offense because you're being negligent about running. Backs just bring Back,
williams keep this little quarter gother and then builds your.
Speaker 5 (29:24):
Defense but the big question is at what? Costs that's
always the question with the running back is what are
you willing to pay to bring Back javonte W AND
i want to short circuit here your segment, here but
that's the big question THAT i think they got to figure.
Speaker 2 (29:36):
OUT i think The cowboys will get. LUCKY i think
they'll get lucky because running back market the last two
years hadn't really hit you upside the head in that
kind of. WAY i, think Like Tony potter make like
seven million dollars or, Something, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (29:46):
Murray makes twelve a seven million, Dollars yeah Who murray linebacker.
Speaker 2 (29:51):
Coach would have done. It but, anyway but like like,
like what's what's a good number for?
Speaker 13 (29:57):
You?
Speaker 5 (29:58):
Said murray makes? Twelve things makes seven seven oh seven
seven his.
Speaker 3 (30:02):
His if you look at projected, numbers it's he And
Brice hall are right about the same about ten point
two ten point three. Million, yeah, yeah that's what they're
should be.
Speaker 2 (30:11):
Paid, yeah, Yeah, PAIGE i don't think you're gonna Payhim
bjon money well, right you, know like some of the
next best running back money anything like, that but just
paying the.
Speaker 5 (30:20):
Keeping AND i think he probably would accept a contract
that's not the top of the. LEAGUE i don't think
he's expecting. It it's gonna be top of the. League
BUT i think if you can get him for a good.
Speaker 2 (30:27):
Price was he making three now?
Speaker 3 (30:28):
Three give him?
Speaker 2 (30:29):
Six double? Money, yeah doubles, money give him.
Speaker 5 (30:32):
Six we have a party about about?
Speaker 2 (30:34):
You you Telling joe give him six six point five
for your hard work and in centives if you if
you get a thousand yards to get, seven that's not.
Speaker 6 (30:44):
LISTEN i Love, javante.
Speaker 2 (30:46):
Everybody you're just. Cool everybody's a good. Guy the, Voice,
no that works so, Hard it works so, hard and,
man proud of these guys they developed and groans PA
i don't have no problem With.
Speaker 7 (30:58):
Dicks how do he communicy catered things with? US i
would have been, like, OH i have a special place
in my heart for. HIM i know he works, hard
AND i know he. Communicates but With, javante he's a
guy THAT i remember when The cowboys first got him
signed him here with the. Team we didn't think much of,
(31:19):
him and you could talk to a lot of different
people and people would, say, oh running back is still
an area of concern for this. Team and it turned
out to be a really very pleasant surprise Because javante
AND i don't know what it is about, HIM i
can't put my finger on, it but he has that
that star, factor but without the. Flashiness like he you
(31:43):
don't think about him that. Much but he's, productive he's,
grinding he's doing the. Work he's getting it. Done he's
putting up numbers and yards and touchdis and all of.
It he's doing the help in the passing game like
you were talking About, Derek but he's not someone who's
flat rashi and on the news or you hear about very.
(32:04):
Often if, ME i tend to forget about, him even
though he's one of your star players on the. Team
but it's one of those type of players that you
love in the sense that they don't cause any, problems
don't cause any, drama don't cause any.
Speaker 6 (32:18):
Issue they do the work and are.
Speaker 7 (32:20):
Productive SO i JUST i love everything about him AND
i would love to see The cowboys bring him. Back
even THOUGH i love My Lake. DAVIS i see the
difference When javonte is on the field Versus Milik.
Speaker 2 (32:31):
Davis you want to?
Speaker 5 (32:32):
Know and then that WORD i said, earlier. Professionalism that
is him like you look at after, no, no, no.
Speaker 3 (32:39):
He.
Speaker 2 (32:39):
Is he's extremely, humble but he does job extremely.
Speaker 4 (32:42):
Well.
Speaker 5 (32:44):
Stops that was My texas guy.
Speaker 3 (32:47):
Trying to.
Speaker 2 (32:47):
Help he is A he is a really humble and.
Speaker 5 (32:50):
And productive and good. Guy and and WHAT i love
about him is no matter after win or a, loss
if he plays, well if he doesn't play, well he
stands there and he asks answers the questions he comes
and there Aren't AND i talk about. THIS i know
fans that have listened to our show for, years Then
i'll talk about. THIS i do judge a player's professionalism
(33:11):
by what they do after a win versus what they
do after a. Loss if it's two different. Things if
after a loss you're, LIKE i ain't, talking and after
when you like the first one up there LIKE i
want to, talk there's to me that lacks, professionalism that
person who's. CONSISTENT i used to give ze credit ze
credit for this. Too zeke was the same way after
win after a, loss no matter how he, played he
was ready to stand there and take the questions because
(33:35):
that is your way to answer to. Fans the media
becomes the conduit for you to answer the fans and
talk to fans about what you believe happened in a
win or a. Loss And javonte is that type of
guy that he's gonna stand up and he's gonna answer
the questions every single. Time AND i respect. THAT i
respect that a ton as being a, PROFESSIONAL i.
Speaker 3 (33:51):
Yield the remainder balance of my time TO yeti time.

AWARDS i get A. TUMBLR i love.
Speaker 7 (37:47):
Tumblrs most consistent player of the, Season waking Wake out
who showed up every time turned.
Speaker 3 (37:55):
STEEL i think we just talked about. Him it's probably
a running, okay nothing good. ONE i think the running.
BACK i think That williams was one of these. Seas
that's WHY i asked the question what this offense would
look like without, him and you guys kind of painted
a picture that things wouldn't be. Great throwing the, ball
running the ball and stuff like. THAT i, think week
in week, out whether it was one hundred yards or
(38:17):
thirty eight, yards that guy came to play every. Week
you have to give him credit for.
Speaker 5 (38:20):
That it's not the sexy. Selection But Dak, PRESCOTT i
think that's it's.
Speaker 2 (38:26):
Easy it's easy when you get.
Speaker 5 (38:27):
In a season like this with your quarterback just so
steady and just every week just playing really, well to
not even worry about AND i think about, it but trust,
me there are some franchises out there that understand the
value of a good. Quarterback weekend week. OUT i Think
dak has been, very very consistent and very good this.
Speaker 2 (38:42):
Year i'll say quinnin since he's been, here has been
the same. Guy.
Speaker 6 (38:45):
Yep, okay.
Speaker 7 (38:47):
Biggest surprise of the, season and this could apply to
a player or let twelve bad that the defense was.
Speaker 6 (38:53):
Okay that was a.
Speaker 3 (38:54):
SURPRISE i MEAN i did Not now we're going into
the season thinking that micaeh was going to be a
part of it and all, that BUT i did not
expect him to completely be last in most every statistical
category and it was it for three. Games it was
kind of, good and maybe you were doing with some
offenses that were struggling at the, time BUT i WAS
i was shocked how. BAD i had questions about the.
(39:14):
DEFENSE i didn't think it was going to be historically.
Speaker 2 (39:17):
Bad Javont, WILLIAMS i didn't expect that he would come
in and be like a guy like. THAT i thought
he'd be amongst three other backs and we kind of.
Rotated but The cowboys gave us all the hints when
we were in pre season and we saw everybody running,
like hey, man we're not Seeing javonte run at, All
like what's going? On So cowboys knew BUT i was, like, hey,
man if he could get back to the guy, like you,
(39:37):
know like rookie, level like pre Hurt. Javonte but you,
know you just go based on the last film that
you saw that dude was pre. Injury javonte shouts out to.
Speaker 5 (39:45):
HIM i agree With, brian but just for the sake
of being, Different i'll Say Ryan. Illinois he he's one
that really popped for me this, year AND i THOUGHT
i thought he had a little something when they when
they first drafted, him we hadn't really seen it till.
Love we start this year so slow and Jeah, Cam,
yeah it was just but by the time we got
to the end of the, YEAR i mean there were
conversations that people were having THAT i, overheard not people
(40:08):
in this. Building i'm talking just like media people where they're, like,
man is this guy good enough to be a number?
Two is this the number two receiver in THE? Nfl
because kind of plays he was making those were pretty good.
Plays they were not routine plays for a wide. Receiver
SO i really think he. Is he has kind of
stepped onto the. SCENE i think he's a he is
a bright spot for this season for The.
Speaker 7 (40:25):
Cowboys best moment of the, SEASON a highlight moment that
you will remember from this.
Speaker 3 (40:33):
Season brett maherstfield gold against The giants to get that
thing to overtime right with sixty With Aubrey. Aubrey Because
i'm thinking Of aubrey's field gold against The, Giants i'm
sorry about, that and that's a senior. Moment aubrey's field
gold against The giants to get that thing that they
were trying to kind of get the. Ball it's like
(40:54):
they really there wasn't a sense of. Urgency it's like
we're gonna take a chance here.
Speaker 9 (40:58):
And not do.
Speaker 3 (40:58):
Anything and for him to not that field goal, HOME
i mean that that that game was in the, balance
and to make a field goal that, long that was
one of my one of my better thoughts for the.
Speaker 2 (41:06):
Season one of the biggest moments for me watching this
season only the, offense right watching The Green bay, game
like Watching dak be who he was in That Green bay,
game because you Know Green bay. Boogeyman they come whoop
bur ass every, year and now they Got michael and
then then they Got, michael And dak just went in
there and they just and they kept. Going But dak
(41:27):
is just, like, Fine i'm just gonna. This this this
Fantastic AND i only THINK cd Played City city got
hurt the, Game, Well Cee city was, HURT i. BELIEVE
i think he got.
Speaker 5 (41:37):
Hurt did you get hurt in that?
Speaker 3 (41:38):
Game got hurt in The bears game Week week? Three
So city didn't even Play it didn't play that.
Speaker 2 (41:43):
Game dak went out there WITHOUT cd.
Speaker 5 (41:46):
On And michael was having a good game and we
just couldn't get.
Speaker 2 (41:49):
Him and we couldn't get a. Stop get one.
Speaker 5 (41:51):
Stop you know, What actually mine is a game, Too
it's actually the end of a. Game at the end
of The Kansas city. Game for, sure that was the for,
me that was the highlight of this year because all
the optimism was there at that. POINT i was, Like,
okay they got these guys that they picked, Up they
got these guys, back offense is. Flowing they were on
a three game win. Streak two of the last two
(42:11):
wins were against teams that when the schedule came, OUT
i was, like they probably aren't gonna win those two.
Games and they Beat philly and they Beat Kansas city
back to, back one on the, road one at home
On Thanksgiving. Day everything about THAT i was, like, okay
cowboys are. Rolling now we can get we can start
thinking About, january like we started start thinking, about like
what's our campaign for the, OFFSEAT i mean for the
(42:32):
for the postseason and, said BUT i was, again that
was the highlight of the season for me BECAUSE i
really really did think they had found the magic elixir
and they were ready to, roll and it.
Speaker 2 (42:47):
Just didn't go like. That it didn't go like.
Speaker 5 (42:49):
That, say most people out there listening probably felt the
same way that that. Weekend now of course it was,
yeah that even even more so for me because Then
texas went and beat in, them so that that weekend
that encapsulated my my year from the standpoint of, Football
like that was the best weekend of this season and
(43:09):
for both of.
Speaker 2 (43:10):
THEM i MADE i made some money up until we
lost to the. Lines interviews went right back. Down, YEAHVIEWS
i wouldn't get, ye, bro you're saying something that you
just the content. Creator, okay people watch the. Videos people was, like,
yo how are we doing?
Speaker 5 (43:27):
THIS i, WAS i, WAS i was right there WITH
i was literally looking at some of our numbers this.
Morning that was a.
Speaker 2 (43:33):
Peak that was a.
Speaker 5 (43:34):
Peak we hit a peak After Kansas.
Speaker 2 (43:36):
City game where fans were all.
Speaker 5 (43:38):
In they were, like all, right we were doing. Something
now was doing the.
Speaker 3 (43:41):
Job you get.
Speaker 7 (43:43):
Eliminated all, Right i'm gonna do one last one And
i'll save the rest for another. Show, sure since we're
on time now out of time over, Time.
Speaker 6 (43:52):
Okay the Trust me Bro.
Speaker 7 (43:55):
Award what this means is the trust Me bro or
it could be like someone that you kept defending all
year long or saying trust, me like this guy is
gonna show.
Speaker 6 (44:04):
Off trust.
Speaker 7 (44:05):
Me this is gonna, happen whether it ended up positively or.
Negatively what is your faith?
Speaker 2 (44:13):
Here i've been defending that for a, while BUT i
don't want it because that's.
Speaker 3 (44:15):
Easy retherless.
Speaker 2 (44:18):
Guy for, ME i was a BIG i. WAS i
was a big booker, guy SO i was gonna go To.
DRAFT i was a big. BOOKER i think the very
first episode of last Year's draft show and this is
just come on the very First draft show we, DID
i was, like, hey, man we should look at this.
Title book kid From. ALABAMA i think he's gonna come
here and whoop. People it just Wood folk And i'm
just watching every. Week i'm, like, man book out here
just pushing around. People drun you, Know brian is one
(44:41):
out of SIXTEEN i.
Speaker 3 (44:42):
Know And i'm the guy that came on this show
and said he might be playing the best of all
the offensive, linemans when in the next week he plays
like He's Chaz.
Speaker 2 (44:50):
Green but for the most part like that that that
dude is running to some of the best interior.
Speaker 3 (44:55):
D, Question oh you're defending him?
Speaker 2 (44:57):
NOW i like it, though And ween that wrestling with
him shouts out the, book Boy, peanut but the book
gonna be, stupid. RIDICULOUS i don't even have a good.
Speaker 5 (45:06):
One i'm trying to think of WHO i really really, Thought, okay, yeah,
yeah he's not trust.
Speaker 7 (45:12):
Me people hearing the chatter Are Saint harris or Saying
flu's mayor S, well.
Speaker 5 (45:18):
You, KNOW i will say About, FLUS i thought his
experience would at some point get him to the point
where this defense would at least be decent and and
and it wasn't until we really got to probably The
detroit game WHERE i gave.
Speaker 2 (45:37):
Up and that's WHAT i.
Speaker 5 (45:39):
DID i did because before, that, again you gotta think
about it from the standpoint of this man was a
good enough defensive coordinator to get him an opportunity head.
Speaker 2 (45:49):
Coach so it Wasn't Russell, wilson it Wasn't Jacob.
Speaker 5 (45:51):
No, no, no. NO i THOUGHT i thought they were
in a, desperate desperately bad. Situation and then they made
the moves and got guys back and they went on
a win three game win, streak and so that's what
made me start, thinking, well maybe that was the. Problem
maybe it was the players all. Along as you, said
they didn't have the. Dudes and then what we found
out is, no, no, no it's much deeper than just the.
(46:12):
Dudes it's a lot more, involved and then you have
to be hit with.
Speaker 2 (46:15):
Reality he's just not it's not. WORKING i was week
four ten toes down on. This but when we went
into The raiders, game a game that you should just steam,
run and, Boy Geno smith started making, THROWS i, say that's,
enough that's, Enough. FLUKES i was.
Speaker 5 (46:31):
Done, yes, Yeah, derek, moment.
Speaker 6 (46:38):
That's.
Speaker 2 (46:38):
Enough Geno smith was out. There geno eventually Became, Geno
but how you Let gino start?
Speaker 5 (46:45):
Hot he did start, hot but but then but again
the way they kind of squashed that as the game we're,
on which made you, Think, okay they're figuring it.
Speaker 2 (46:54):
Out party came out, there which and Which gino got
better numbers Than Jah WHEN.
Speaker 5 (46:59):
Jj did, it that was when it was, like, okay,
yeah this is just not like why are we even acting?
Anymore it's just NOT.
Speaker 2 (47:05):
I can't wait till we can say coaches names up in.
HERE i can't wait a, week say people.
Speaker 5 (47:09):
Say to figure out if that's next week or if
that's the end of the. PLAYOFFS i need to just.
Speaker 2 (47:13):
Let me know because second, second craft my.
Speaker 5 (47:16):
Arguments all, Right i'll Hit i'll hit up our legal
counsel and see what he. Says that's What i'm thinking,
Too BUT i need to check on.
Speaker 2 (47:22):
Them be. Sure people doing interviews and stuff, Though like
it's gonna start like next, week, right people gonna start
talking to other teams and.
Speaker 5 (47:28):
Stuff, yeah but yeah that's. True that's true because they
will have they will have, interviews so we could be
like talking, yes, yes, yes so that if it's public like,
those that's the. Thing they're not Always sometimes people get
interviewed on the. Slide but you, know to see talking to.
Speaker 2 (47:45):
You better jump. In its one last, thing you, know
it was this, uh this report that. Came i'm, sorry
