Speaker 1 (00:00):
The following is a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com
and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Cowboys.

Speaker 3 (00:10):
This is Cowboys Storyline, brought you by Gillette, the official
razor of the Dallas Cowboys.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Here's Nick Eatman, what is up? And welcome to another
season of Cowboys Storyline. I am Nick Eatman. We are
back here in Oxnard, California. I know I'm not the
first show that has been here in Oxnar, but for
me and for the storyliners, we're back some new season.

(00:40):
It's a new sponsor about that, Dallas Cowboys. The official
shave of the Dallas Cowboys is Gillette. This show was
presented by Gillette. And give you a little bit of
backstory on that. I mean all in the spring, I
mean I heard three or four different competing sponsors. I
didn't know where it was going to go to. And
then at the last second, so let flies in. They're

(01:04):
the sponsors A close shave there, and they are the
official shave of the Dallas Cowboys and they are the
official sponsor of Cowboys Storyline. All right, let's do this
July twenty third first show of the season, and we
got the phone lines working. I don't think we were
going to do a show on July twenty second. I
know we weren't going to do a show on July
twenty first, because that's how long it took to perfect

(01:25):
this phone line. Get it down. Chris Beam has been
working hours upon hours to get this thing going, and
now it's working and the phone's ringing off the hook.
So you know what, I don't want to waste any
more time. Let's go right to it. Our first caller,
of course, Irene, one of the captains. Irene, what's up,
False Church, Virginia.

Speaker 4 (01:45):
Well, hello, Oxar, welcome back with Bock. We're like you said,
I'm excited.

Speaker 5 (01:51):
I'm excited.

Speaker 4 (01:52):
So hey, coming your way soon ten days.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
Tell us about that? What do we have in store there?
Some of the storyline? What what are you? What's the latest?

Speaker 5 (02:03):
Yes, you have three fourths of your captains coming, So
Davion's coming as well, so he's third teamer. We got
Sergeant Sue Nice coming, and then we got Paula who
you've talked to her on the spaces that she hasn't
called into the show, so she'll be in with us.

Speaker 4 (02:21):
Yep, yep.

Speaker 5 (02:22):
So we'll be seven of us coming in the way.

Speaker 6 (02:25):
I think Blare and Shelby are there this week.

Speaker 4 (02:27):
That's what I read on Twitter.

Speaker 5 (02:29):
So that's cool, you know. Yeah, yeah, yeah, we're looking
for that will be not too far from camp.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
So we're working on we're working on some kind of
special show. We know, we haven't perfected it just yet
on all the details, but we're going to have some
kind of show. Yeah, so Rob from Vegas, right, he's
he's coming Rob from Vegas. Yeah yeah, captains right, yeah cool,
Well what do you get for it for me?

Speaker 6 (02:56):
So?

Speaker 5 (02:57):
So yeah, let's get into the defensive tackles. That's that's
where our brain is. Because I saw the report about
Nazzi being smaller, So just kind of wondering where our
meat in the middle is because I didn't expect that report.
And then I don't I know, Solomon Thomas can go
in and out, but I thought he was more of
a one as well, all right, not a one?

Speaker 4 (03:20):
Yeah, yeah, I don't really know. So what's going on.

Speaker 5 (03:22):
With our run stuffing guys?

Speaker 4 (03:24):
That's that's my question.

Speaker 5 (03:25):
So I know the phone's ringing, so I'll get off.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
Thank you, welcome back, all right, Thanks Irene, and we'll
see you when you come out here. We'll probably talk
to you before then because we've got a couple more
shows before then, but and I'll get into the schedule
after this answer. I'm just kind of what we're doing.
But as for as for this, as for that position,
defensive tackle, you know, I I think that we'll see

(03:51):
exactly what Eberflus has in store, because you know, go
back and I was just talking to some people about this,
and I think eight out of the last twelve years
that he's been a coordinator or he's been you know,
either he's been a coordinator or he's he's run this
defense with Rod Marinelli or whatever, eight out of those

(04:11):
twelve years, they've been a top ten run stopping defense.
So and most of those years they didn't even have
a three hundred pound defensive tackle. So the way that
they're approaching this thing is different than most. And I
think you have to give him the time to do that.
And see, these guys are going they're asked to get
up the field, and getting up the field and being

(04:33):
disruptive can be disruptive in the past game and the
run game, so you know, and I think it's more
of a quickness, it's more of an I'm going to
attack you before you attack me type situation. I get it,
you want to see the big guys up ron and
the beef and and how do they control it. But
I think it can be done different ways. Let's see,

(04:54):
because Eberflus's history has shown he can be effective stopping
the run and he doesn't have to have that three
hundred and fifty pound space eater to do it. So
that's my answer to that. It's a wait and see
type thing. But you know, I think you give him
the benefit of the doubt because he's had good defenses

(05:14):
and he's had a way to really create some great linebackers.
I mean, it's like the linebacker Whisperer, if you will,
And you can't do that if you don't have defensive
tackles up front that are shutting it down. So that's
kind of my thought on that. And you know, they
loved Osa, they loved Mazi. I mean that's one thing

(05:36):
Iberfu said, we really really like what we have there.
So he has a vision for it, and I don't
think that they're concerned with the size of those defensive
tackles right now. Now you get to week four, they
can't stop the run, then maybe it's gonna be a problem,
but I think for now they're okay with with where
things stand there. All right, we ready for our second call.
We've got Brian in Kansas City? Is that right? Brian? Hello?

Speaker 7 (06:03):
Can you hear me?

Speaker 8 (06:04):
I can?

Speaker 2 (06:04):
What's up? Brian?

Speaker 4 (06:06):
Hey man?

Speaker 7 (06:06):
Well, at first I want to say congratulations because I
think this is what season twenty six for you?

Speaker 2 (06:14):
This is this is actually my twenty seventh season. I mean,
if we're gonna if we're gonna count them, let's let
you know. I'll add the one more. This will be
my twenty seventh season working for the Cowboys. Blessed. Wow,
I know, wow? How about that twenty seven season? And
I was told right off the bat when I first
was hired, that you do this for two or three years.
This will open some doors for some other things, and

(06:35):
you can leave and and I don't know, I've never
I've never really gone down the hallway to see any
of those doors. So I'm good. I'm good here.

Speaker 7 (06:44):
Wow, that's that's that's more years than the age of
probably a few of the fans of the show.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
Yeah, yeah, well a few of them. Yeah, most of
most of you guys are you know, kind of in
my age range well, which which I think creates a
fun dynamic. But yeah, yeah, there's been some I'm sure
there's been some callers or two that that that we're
not even born when I started this. But anyways, what
do you got, Brian, Well, you.

Speaker 7 (07:13):
Know, man, I got kind of two questions. I'm glad
Irene asked about the tackles because that's certainly a concern.
You know, everybody wants to stop the run and we
haven't been able to do that lately. But so I
think my my other two concerns is one is just
a straight up concern and the other one is just
injury concern of you know, what are we going to
do until you know, for cornerbacks, who's actually on the

(07:38):
field right now? You know, I know obviously I know
Diggs is not, but but who who's actually practicing? And
then for running backs, you know it's not there's no
injury concerns there. It's just like, what do we have there?
Are you able to It's hard to say. You know,
this is the underwear Olympics still right, there's no pads,

(07:59):
but are you able to tell anything about you know,
what the rotation or who might be playing what role? Yeah,
and maybe just address the story whatever you think about
that story that's come out in the last week about
people say in Blue is lazy. So I don't know which,
I don't know who originated that story. You know, I

(08:20):
know Broadus has already kind of poop pooed it and
said maybe that's what people said about them in college.
So just whatever you think about it, I'll hang up
and listen. Good to talk to you, brothers.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
All right, all right, thanks for the call, Brian. About
three things, John pack here, Let's start with corner who's
on the team. And I don't think I'm gonna ease
your concern here when I started listing listing off these players,
because it is a concern. I mean, of the four
guys that were put on the injured list, three of

(08:52):
them on POP, one of them on n FI. Three
of those four players are cornerbacks Trayvon Diggs, Savone, Revel,
Josh Butler, and Revel is on NFI, which is the
same as PUP. It's just the wind you got hurt.
And because Revel was hurt at college, that's what they
call not a non football injury. But it's still the
same and the rules are still the same about you know,

(09:14):
they could miss some of the season if they're not ready,
if they haven't been moved to the active roster yet.
So those three players are already not with you. The
guys that are You've got Kyrie e Lemon, Deron Bland,
maybe not in that order, but they're starting at your
cornerback spot. The other corners, they got a lot of
work yesterday, Kaylin Carson, Andrew Booth will work back into it.

(09:38):
He had some injuries. He'll work back into things. Troy
Pride got a lot of snaps. And then you got
a Kemon Hall, you got Zion Childress, rookie, Bruce Harmon,
another rookie, Robert Rochelle as a veteran. But those are
the guys that are your corners right right now. And
don't think that they're not looking at at the options

(09:59):
that are out there, the players that are available. I
think what what I was told is they're gonna give
it about a week or two. Really see what they
have here. One good thing about the cornerback position is
that you're facing really strong wide receiver corps on the
other side. I mean, you've it's as strong as it's
been when you when you consider you've got CD and

(10:22):
now you've got Pickings, and you've got on the other side,
you you've you know, you've got the most talented of
Jalen Tolbert that we've seen as a receiver. Uh, you
know him being in his fourth year and and and
a polished receiver I think now in Cavante Turpin. So
my point is is these cornerbacks are getting tested. We're
gonna find out real quick, uh, whether or not they

(10:43):
can play. And the guys that are here, so I
would imagine you'll see some I would imagine you will
see at some point some some more additions there at
the at the cornerback position. All right, I'm gonna see
if I could throw We'll get the phone number. Just

(11:05):
as I'm seeing some some text messages. Let's get let's
get the phone number again. I think the phone number
that we've thrown out there, we've had some some issues
that the phone isn't ringing. I'm getting some text messages
here from the from the number it was ringing this morning.
I don't know if it's ringing right now. Chris is
going to join the show. Chris was all right, two one, four,

(11:26):
three eight seven, one six five nine. I hope that
was the number that we tweeted out this morning. The
phone definitely has been ringing because you know, Irene found it.
She's there. Two one four three eight seven, one six
five nine. That is the phone number. We'd like to

(11:47):
hear from you guys as soon as possible. The phone
lines are open right now. What I'll do is get
into a little bit oh and I'll answer some of
these other questions that Brian said also the running back
bot that it's just unsettled as far as who it's
going to be. I think that they like the who

(12:08):
they have. I mean it's different than cornerback. I mean,
they've got experience there. Javonte Williams looks like he's still
kind of the leader in the clubhouse, but not by far.
You know over Miles Sanders. They they do different things.
And and the way we saw some of the stretch
runs today a little the off tackle runs, uh that
we saw yesterday in practice. You know you're gonna you're

(12:31):
gonna need some speed to get there and you're gonna
need some cutback ability. So, uh, who you know who
can do that? The best? Javonte's got a lot of power.
Does he have that quickness and and cut cutback ability? Uh,
Jayden Blue did some of that as well, Miles Sanders.
I mean a lot of Deuce Vaughn in Phil MafA
got got in there. So I mean there's just there's
just a lot of different options that they have. And

(12:54):
then to answer the part about Jayden Blue, you know,
that was one person's I don't even know if you
call it a report. It was just maybe a rumor
that there's some people that maybe think he's lazy or whatever.
One thing that I'll say is, let's not mistake an
off a quiet, laid back personality as someone that doesn't

(13:21):
care about football, doesn't care about working out. I think
it's too early to tell what he is. But if
someone thought that that Amari Cooper was that way, he
never would have made it in the league. I mean,
Mariy Cooper was that type of personality. And that's one
thing I've kind of seen a little bit out of
Jaden Blue is you know, he's pretty chill. That's just

(13:43):
kind of that's just kind of who he is. Does
that mean he doesn't doesn't love football, doesn't you know,
doesn't doesn't play you know that is not going to
give everything that they have. I think it's too early
for that. I know this when he's running, when he's
running and he's making cuts and he's he's making plays.
Like yesterday he had a couple of runs where you

(14:04):
could really see the speed. It was very Tony Pollard,
like cutting back, just finding a crease, hitting it, and
then and it's he'll take away some angles on you
real quick. So the speed for Jaden Blue is gonna
be fun to watch. So I'm really excited about about
that part there. All right, let's see still working on

(14:29):
the phone. It's gonna take a break here real quick.
We'll take a break. I'm gonna I'm gonna come right back.
I'm gonna tell you a little bit about the schedule
in the format here of training camp. We're gonna kind
of tie up some loociends here, be right back here.

All right, welcome back to Cowboys storyline. This is our
first show of training camp. Still kind of dealing with
a little bit of issues from a phone line standpoint.
I know that we in the middle of our show.
The line just got disconnected, so Chris is kind of
in a panic. There are we backrolling? Hed Okay, okay, awesome.

(16:49):
Of course, before we get to another Captain, I want
to just real quick throw about our schedule format for
this show, so we go every other day. We'll start
We're on Wednesday's group here the B team. I guess
we had yesterday's two shows today with the B We'll
go back on Friday and we'll do it again at

(17:10):
ten Pacific time. Next week, we'll be back to Tuesday
Thursday again, so we'll have two more shows next week
and then the following week there in early August, we'll
go Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, so we'll have seven shows
total out here. I'm actually leaving a little bit before
the team and I'll be back in Dallas do a
couple of studio shows as well. So that's our format,

(17:34):
and we might have another special show depending on the
people that are coming out from the Storyline group, including
Rob from Vegas. Rob from Vegas, what's up man?

Speaker 4 (17:45):
Hey, Mick, how's everything?

Speaker 2 (17:47):
Oh good? How are you doing?

Speaker 4 (17:49):
I'm good. I'm glad you're back.

Speaker 2 (17:51):
I'm glad to be back. And before you get started,
I just want to say one thing that, like ninety
seconds ago, like we didn't have a phone line like
it was working. I mean, Chris Beam. I always have
said this about Chris. He could work in a NASCAR
pit crew because he can do things in like fifteen seconds.
It's just like like like he didn't have the phone line,

(18:13):
wasn't even working. Now the next thing you know, it's working.
He got that for somebody's ass. I know that on
the phone. The next thing you know, rolb ron Vegas, Rob,
what's up man?

Speaker 8 (18:23):
Now?

Speaker 4 (18:23):
Everything's good?

Speaker 7 (18:24):
You know.

Speaker 4 (18:24):
Looking forward to the season, of course, looking forward to
coming out there. I never been to ox Now I
hear in the beautiful place. Yeah yeah, yeah, hang out
with Everybody's going to be fun.

Speaker 6 (18:37):
You know, we're gonna have a good time.

Speaker 2 (18:38):
Yeah, that is cool. And that's a that's a really
neat thing that you guys are doing, and it makes
us feel really good that we've kind of we started
something and then you guys took it to another level.
And so if it brings it out here, we want
to try to We're figuring out what we can do
from a security standpoint of how we can get certain
passes and get people here, maybe do a show here,

(18:58):
maybe on another spot. We're trying to figure it all
out and and see, but we'll get some of the details.
But yeah, it's certainly going to be cool.

Speaker 4 (19:06):
Yeah, that would be a lot of fun. And it's
great that you know, everybody's flying from all different parts
of the country.

Speaker 2 (19:11):
Yeah, definitely. And when when is that again? August the
third or to sixth.

Speaker 4 (19:17):
I believe, so, so Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and then I
think people everybody's leaving Wednesday.

Speaker 2 (19:23):
I'm driving in, so got it, you know, yeah, I think,
I mean, and it's kind of a it's a one
come on one all all right, like everybody come out,
like even if you're from the if you're from the
area and you're from you know, driving distance, make it,
you know. Yeah, yeah, let's more of the marror here,
I think.

Speaker 4 (19:42):
So, so let's talk about the press conference.

Speaker 2 (19:49):
It's all you know, it's undefeated, right, you know, Jerry's
opening press conference is undefeated. It just is. You can't
beat it. You cannot be that. All right, what do
you got? What's your take? Which party?

Speaker 3 (20:00):
You?

Speaker 4 (20:01):
You know, my father lives with me. My father is
going to be eighty nine. And there's no filter. You know,
there's there's no filter. You know, my heart in it. Yeah,
well it depends, you know, if I'm having people over,
I got to put the warning out to him and
then you.

Speaker 2 (20:21):
Know, well, I mean, let's we're let's be honest. Do
you have a filter? You know though we know we
know your pops doesn't listen.

Speaker 4 (20:30):
I do you you you can think it, there's sometimes
you just can't say it.

Speaker 2 (20:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (20:37):
What's happening now with Jerry's is the filter is gone.

Speaker 2 (20:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (20:42):
And as a fan, I don't like that. You like
I said, as a fan, I want to believe that
winning is the most important thing on earth. If we
don't win a Super Bowl, you know, I want to
believe it from the players, you know, I want to
believe some ownership and I know it's not true. These

(21:05):
guys got normalized. There's a lot of money. I get it,
we fans probably take losing harder than the some players.
But when you come out and you're basically you're calling
the best player on your football team by Michael. You

(21:25):
could do that to the to practice squad guy, but
not him. When you're calling out players like Steel and
and and Dak and get I don't get it. What
is that going to accomplish? You know, especially Steel? I mean,
this guy must feel like you must feel like you

(21:45):
know terrible.

Speaker 2 (21:46):
I mean, I just let me cut you off on them.
I actually know his agent. I don't talk to a
lot of agents. I actually know his agent, Terren Steel's agent,
And I called him and I talked to him and
and he was like he kind of chuckled, and he said,
we're not he's not concerned. We're not concerned. We listen
to the actual quote and the reporter mentioned Steele first.

(22:08):
It wasn't like Jerry just threw him into the mix.
He mentioned himself.

Speaker 8 (22:11):
No, but.

Speaker 2 (22:14):
I could argue every aspect of that and kind of
saying it wasn't a big deal. But when there's twelve
of them, like you're kind of pointing out, then there
must be something, right, you know, I mean, there's something
to it getting hit by a bus and all the
little comments, yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 4 (22:31):
I don't know what he was What are you trying
to accomplish? And then I've always felt that as you
get older, and let's say Jerry's a businessman, we forget
that Jerry is into making money. And he kind of
now says it, like, listen, I have other interests that

(22:53):
take more of my time because let's face it, the
Cowboys make money no matter what. He doesn't have to
do anything. It's just a juggernaut that a richest sports
team in the world. And let's say that I haven't
won a Super Bowl since ninety five. I mean, he
doesn't have to put as much you know, time and
effort into the Cowboys anymore, and unless unlike his other businesses.

(23:17):
And he's kind of saying it, and it's like, as
a fan, I don't want to hear that. And he's saying,
you know, I enjoy hanging out with my kids and
and you know, and I get that if I was him,
I would probably I would enjoy it too, you know,
handing this down to my kids, but as a fan,
I don't want to hear that. I want to hear
this is the most important thing, because to the Philadelphia Eagles,

(23:37):
that owner, it's the most important thing, you know, And
that's what I want to hear. And I want you
to go sign. You know, I just don't. It's like
until somebody explains to me why he waits so long
to sign these top guys that you know you're gonna sign,

(24:01):
Why he has no problem with eating another three four
five million a year, I just I just don't understand it.
But you know, Michaeh, I think Mike is a little different.
Mike and knows I'm the top guy. I could go anywhere.
You know, Dak had the leverage. But Mike and knows. Listen,

(24:22):
I'll ride this out. Twenty four million dollars I did.
He gets paid this year. I'll ride this out and
next year I'll make forty five Well.

Speaker 2 (24:30):
Next year he'll be Next year he'll be franchised, which
in the next year he will be franchised. So he
knows that. So don't act like, probably don't have a
little bit of leverage here. They both Oh no, no, no,
he don't have leverage. Ye he ain't going anywhere.

Speaker 4 (24:45):
It's no, it's just a bad president. I don't I
just don't get. But what you're doing with him, I
can understand other players. You're kind of weird it. What
is the what is the doubts you have of Michael Parsons?

Speaker 2 (24:59):
Well, all right, Rob, that's a good question to uh
end on, and well let's keep it going.

Speaker 8 (25:04):
Man.

Speaker 2 (25:05):
I can't wait to see you guys, and I'll probably
hear from you again before the Rob, have a good one.
Thanks for the call. All right. The question that he asked,
what are they waiting on? You know that that is
a good question and and you know, you could say
leadership and things like that. And I think, and I
said this the other day on our hanging Out our

(25:25):
camping out show, that I really think Trayvon Digs, you know,
he did an interview with Diggs, Yesterdady. You gotta check
that out. Diggs and Parsons come out together do an interview.
Seven to eleven has always been linked together. And I
think that they're looking a lot at Digs and how
he's handled things after the money and all that and
making sure that all of their players that they sign.
There's a little bit more to it than just what

(25:47):
do you do on the field. But me personally, I
love what Micah does on the field. I think that
is leadership in itself, the way he goes out and
plays and the way he handles himself. And so I'm
you know, i'd like to see a deal done. But
this isn't anything new. We've seen it before the last
few years. Zach Martin wasn't here, he can't. He comes in,
he gets a deal done, He makes the Pro Bowl.

(26:09):
CD wasn't here, He comes in, gets a deal done,
makes the Pro Bowl. You know, I think Mike is
gonna and Mike is already here. I think he's gonna
he's gonna sign at some point, and I think he's
gonna be but you know, as good as eff all right,
let's keep it rolling here. I've had Gavin waiting on
the line a little bit up right, Gavin, Oklahoma City, Hey, Bud,
how are you doing? How are you?

Speaker 8 (26:30):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (26:31):
Man?

Speaker 8 (26:32):
Oh, no problem?

Speaker 2 (26:33):
How are things in your world?

Speaker 8 (26:36):
You know what? I just got a new job, a
new as okay, all kind of stuff going on. Man,
I can't complain.

Speaker 2 (26:42):
I'm blessed him, good man, That's that's great. Congrats on that.
And uh, what I hope is that that your new
job and your new hours still works in the timeframe
of ten am Central time when we're gonna do a
show every day that you can see.

Speaker 8 (27:00):
What honestly, it's kind of conflicting. But on Mondays after
game Day, which is my favorite data call, I am
off on Monday.

Speaker 2 (27:08):
Okay, all right, we're gonna be hearing from you on
Mondays in all right, yes, sir, you know and you
know what I'm thinking. Hey, I'll say this because we
had Joe and Stanford. Uh he called. He was one
of the first ones that that would that would call
all the time. And he's got a new job and
changes his schedule a little bit, but he'll still send
me a message. He'll send some messages there and and

(27:30):
and he'll throw a question out there and I put
it on the show. And so you know what, even
on days where you can't call in, you can still
be a part of it as well.

Speaker 8 (27:37):
So oh, yes, sir, and I always listen. I don't
listen live, but I do listen on my way to work.
That's that's my thing. And it's still forty five minute
drive for me.

Speaker 2 (27:48):
So all right, all right, cool, But uh.

Speaker 8 (27:51):
As far as what Rob said, I'll be honest, I
don't always agree with Rob, Like maybe Dak having a
family not calling him. I don't know about that one.
But Rob has a point today. I don't think the
Jones has handled that interview very well, and I don't

(28:12):
think that's a great way to kick off the season.
You know, I don't know if the players take stuff
like that seriously. They may do, they may not, but
sounded like in their interview yesterday it was kind of personal.
And you know, I think JJ Watt said it best
on Twitter when he said nothing makes you want to
play for your owner more than getting mad at them. Well,

(28:33):
not necessarily getting mad at them, but something to the
extent of saying, you know, you don't throw a shot
at your players for getting injured when they're fighting for you.

Speaker 1 (28:40):
And Michael was fighting last year. Mike could I think
exemplifies that more than anybody. Mike n CD for sure.
But I'll get off that topic. You're gonna have plenty
to talk about. What people about the press conference. I'm
hitting my emergency light on the d tackle position. Man,
that's scaring me. I've seen a report that said, I

(29:01):
don't know how true this is. I just glanced by that,
said Mazzie Smith. They want him to play three and
one tech and that he's a little undersized for the
one tech coming into the season.

Speaker 8 (29:12):
Where's on one tech, mister eat Man. Yeah, we have
the Ricky Toya in there, and I don't know that
makes me nervous. I kind of want to hear your
thoughts on that and if you've heard anything about that,
if that may or may not be valid. And thanks
for taking my car, And I think you nailed the
thing on Blue. I was going to talk about that too,
but I don't think there's much left to say about Blue.

(29:32):
Thank you for that.

Speaker 2 (29:33):
Yeah, well, I'll tell you what. When it's time to
go and time to run, I think he can do that.
So I think that.

Speaker 3 (29:38):
We got big personalities. We got big hair, big bell buckles,
We got fans all across as big state and enemies
and every other one. We even got a big star
on the fifty yard line. Samir Enov knows football is
a wee thing and experience that is best enjoyed together
with good drinks and good folks. Homer Away, We rally together,
we cry together, and We always rally cry together because

(30:02):
most of all we got big love for them boys
smear enough we do game days.

we are definitely going through some technical issues here on

(30:50):
our first show. We're gonna kind of figure this thing out.
This will have just a few more minutes. Brian Schottenheimer's
PROSS conference will be going live here I think right
at eleven o'clock specific time. We do have Dylan still
holding Dylan you've been holding for a while man, totally
appreciate that he's still there.

Speaker 6 (31:11):
Hey man, how's it going good?

Speaker 2 (31:12):
How are you doing? Thanks for fighting with it through
it here.

Speaker 6 (31:15):
For us, No worries. I'm working, so it's all good,
you know. I just wanted to confirm that Rob does
indeed have a filter. You've heard him on some of
our calls on Twitter.

Speaker 8 (31:24):
Right.

Speaker 6 (31:25):
Nice, he comes it down a little there for your show,
just a smooche.

Speaker 2 (31:29):
Yeah, that's awesome. So you guys excited about coming out?

Speaker 6 (31:34):
Oh yeah, man, yeah, August third through the sixth. Most
of us leave on the sixth, but we'll be the
Monday Tuesday. I think the Rams are in town of
that week, so they'll be a I think a pretty
good time. Cool if we can hook up do something
that'd be cool on the show.

Speaker 2 (31:48):
We have a show. We have a show scheduled August
the fourth, I believe, which is a Monday, right August fourth.
We'll have a ship that day, regular show, but we're
trying to work on something maybe either that night or
Tuesday where we can get everybody kind of in in
as well, so we'll have a kind of a special
show for you guys, man like around table.

Speaker 6 (32:11):
My birthdays on the my birthdays on the sixth, so
you know, a little birthday treat for me.

Speaker 2 (32:18):
Cool, maybe getting after a Tuesday night which will spill
into Wednesday and then yeah.

Speaker 6 (32:24):
I'm too old for that. Man, too old, I can't
be can't be party. I can't be partying like that.

Speaker 2 (32:31):
Till midnight? Is that? Is that too old?

Speaker 8 (32:33):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (32:34):
I'm about ten.

Speaker 2 (32:36):
What's gonna be funny for you is that being in
the East Coast coming over here. You know, your first
like at eight and eight o'clock over here, You're gonna
be like, I'm tired.

Speaker 6 (32:47):
I played in my flight out or all the first
thing in the morning to like six a m. So
it's gonna be a brutal trip in that regard, but
it's all gonna worried.

Speaker 2 (32:55):
What do you got on your mind here? From from
a cowboys standpoint.

Speaker 6 (32:59):
Yeah, dude, moles we I just feel like he's kind
of just a tragic story since he's been here. And
I don't know if tragic story ord or not, but
just between the coaching changes and the injury and now
he's going on was his third d sea since he's
been here, with another new plan for him making them
shave off weight. Again or gain. I don't really know
what the heck the plan is, but it just seems
like he can't just settle in and do something and

(33:21):
get good at something. And I just think that, you know,
once his contracts up, I'm pretty positive he'll be gone.
I don't have a ton of confidence it will be
performing at that level. He probably needs to perform at
the stay here in the next couple of years whenever
that contract's up. Yeah, and hopefully Hi, I'm rooting for
him wherever he goes after this, But I just have
a lot of doubts, not just with him, but just

(33:41):
the interior deal position just in general. I know os
was a huge signing here, resigning him and all that,
but he's one of the worst strength run defenders in
the NFL. And it's because he doesn't have a big
guy next to him. You know, he gets pushed on
quite a bit in the run game, and not necessarily
his fault, but he doesn't really have a running mate
next to him inside to help. Now, so and we
still don't, I don't think unless that rookie, which you know,

(34:03):
asking a seven time rookie to step up or six
trunds whatever that was is kind of a tough ass too,
so it might be a tough year for the interior deal.
But I just want to get your thoughts on that.

Speaker 2 (34:11):
Well, you're not the first. You know, we don't have
five callers, but three of the five I have been
talking about the defensive tackle position. And you know what
I've said is is kind of a wait and see thing.
I mean, Abra flews the history for this defense. And
I mentioned it earlier. You know, eight of his twelve
years as a as a coordinator or for this type
of defense has been finished in the top ten and

(34:33):
run defense, So they've they've had you know, pretty good,
pretty good run of run defenses here, and they do
it in a way where they they do have undersized
play most of those most of those years they did
not have a guy over three twenty some years, didn't
even have a guy over three hundred, you know. So
we've seen it here when he was linebackers coach with

(34:53):
Rod Marinelli. You know, they they had Terrell McClain and
they had Elie Collins, and they were sitting at you
know three or five, you know, even under three hundred
a little bit. So it's all about the scheme it's
all about how how they do it, and it's okay
to to to be a little bit concerned by I mean, yeah,
the proofs and the numbers, and I don't know about

(35:14):
tragic as the word for Massie, but but yeah, I
mean the guy needs consistency and he's had now three
different coordinators defense and he's not the only player that's
had three different coordinators. You wouldn't you wouldn't have been
told that from Micah. You know, Mike has fought through it.
But but for for him and needing some consistency on
this on this defensive line, Uh, it hasn't happened for him.

(35:35):
So we'll see if this year maybe the year he
can kind of break out. So, uh, you're still there
doing Nope, he's gone. That's fine. I didn't know if
he was. He's still there, Yeah, yeah, yeah, for sure.

Speaker 6 (35:50):
Yeah, yeah, I was just just on the Mica Park.
You know, with Micah, he was kind of found his
role on the edge then the beginning out of his
rookie season. Then they just kind of they put him there,
call him to go, and that's what he's done.

Speaker 2 (36:01):
Mazie.

Speaker 6 (36:02):
It's been well, shed thirty pounds put on thirty pounds,
do this, do that, and it's like you said, the
consistency hasn't been there. So that's really that. I guess.
The tragic part is that that's what I want to use.
I guess I don't know if I try it or not,
but this has been talk for him and I feel
bad for the kid.

Speaker 2 (36:15):
Yeah, all right, Dylan, Well, I appreciate you Nick the call. Thanks,
We'll see see you out here. I wanted to super
quick just the We've had three captains call in. Randy. Uh,
he actually has been in communications with my mom. He's
in he's in chemo right now. He'll be trying to
call as soon as he can. He says he's doing
pretty good, but still we know he's still kind of

(36:37):
fighting through it. All right, guys, appreciate it. Thanks for
hanging in there with us today. Hopefully on Friday everything
will be a lot smoother for us for Chris by
my Nick Evan, We'll see you next time. On Cowboys
