Speaker 1 (00:02):
The following.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
He's a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com and the
Dallas Cowboys Football Club.
Speaker 1 (00:08):
Cowboys.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
This is Cowboys Storyline presented by Gillette, the official shave
of the Dallas Cowboys.
Speaker 1 (00:19):
Here's Nick Eatman, what's up?
Speaker 3 (00:24):
Welcome to Cowboys storyline presented by Gelette. It's Wednesday, November
twenty sixth. My kids would say Thanksgiving Eve, that's the thing.
It's not really, It's the day before Thanksgiving. That's the
final show before the Cowboys take on the Chiefs. I'm
sure we'll get a lot of predictions. I'll try to
(00:45):
think of a score in my head. Sometimes I bring
it to the air. Most time I just relay it
to Chris. If I don't do it, that means I
don't have did all right yesterday. But I'm sure we'll
get some good ones. Last there was mostly Cowboy picks
against the Eagles, and they were all right except for one,
(01:07):
and nobody got exactly the score, but very very close.
We'll see this week if there was a little bit
more Cowboys picks or Chiefs picks. I'm still on the fence.
I have to make a decision here in a little bit.
We have our gut Feeling article. I'm not really sure
what my gut is telling me, other than I'm ready
for some Thanksgiving food. But uh, I just don't have
(01:31):
a great feeling about I guess. I guess it's a
level of consistency we just haven't seen from this team
to win three in a row. Haven't won three in
a row since the twenty twenty three season beating the Chiefs.
I mean that makes it serious, Like this is a
nice little run. That makes it serious. So if you
do that, and I don't know, we'll see if we're
ready for that. All right, let's go to the phone lines.
(01:52):
Jody in El Paso, Texas is our first caller. Never
said it before. Jody, what's up?
Speaker 4 (02:00):
Hey, Nick?
Speaker 5 (02:01):
Happy Thanksgiving? How are you?
Speaker 6 (02:03):
I'm good?
Speaker 4 (02:03):
Are you?
Speaker 5 (02:05):
I'm great. I have wanted to tell you my story.
When I was five years old, I wanted cheerleading pompoms,
and my mom told my dad she was taking me
to get pomp poms. My dad said, they'll be blue
and silver, or she doesn't get.
Speaker 6 (02:16):
Pomp poms, and you've got blue and silver pompoms.
Speaker 5 (02:20):
I got blue and silver pompoms, and then I ended
up being a UTEP cheerleader when Tony Colbert played at UTEP.
Speaker 6 (02:25):
Okay, there you go, yes, yes, yes, you know that.
Speaker 5 (02:33):
So, first of all, my question to you, and I'll
give you my prediction and then I'll hang up.
Speaker 4 (02:38):
Pa.
Speaker 5 (02:38):
I can hear your answer, but I would love for
you to take last week's game against Philly apply it
to the Kansas City Chiefs, and I'm curious in your
opinion what the Cowboys would have to do differently being
down twenty one to nothing to come back and not
that same kind of a comeback against the Chiefs. And
then I think that we do string three wins together.
I think Overshown is going to play lights out. I
(03:00):
think CID is going to play lights out, and I
think it's going to be thirty one twenty.
Speaker 3 (03:04):
One, thirty one twenty one. All right, I love it.
That's a great call, Jody, and thanks for getting it started.
Thanks for joining the show for the first time that
we've had you call call us back for sure. Well,
all right, what a great question on that. Play the
same game you're playing against the Eagles and apply it
(03:26):
to the Chiefs.
Speaker 6 (03:28):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (03:29):
Well, I don't believe anybody is as good as as
Patrick Mahomes in the league, and that's not really going
out on a limb. I think now they're not playing
the best, it feels like, and I watched them the highlights.
Speaker 6 (03:44):
It feels like with.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
Rashid Rice, it feels like he's adding a little bit
more of an element now that he's back, and they're
kind of clicking a little more. And I saw where
Pacheco is going to be back and playing this game.
So to answer your question, I think I don't think
you're going to stop the Chiefs eight times in a row.
(04:08):
They're a little bit more dynamic. I think they get
their tight end going more than Philadelphia did, and and
they play more inside out, you know what I mean.
They they kind of have the running game the tight ends,
and then that kind of opens up those speedy receivers.
They got a lot more speed, So, you know, I
I think I think that's that's that's a really good question.
(04:32):
I still think, you know, the Cowboys are gonna have to.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
Just tackle well.
Speaker 3 (04:35):
They have to tackle well and make those five yard
games not eleven and twelve and extend drives, and they
did a really good job of that. But but I
just think you got to be on your game even
more because that's what's so good about it. It's not
just my homes, it's also Andy Reid. Stopping them that
many times in a row is going to be tough.
(04:58):
You just can't give them any gift. See, and the
Cowboys gave a couple uh with with field position. You
can't do that. And I think what we've talked about
all week, in the last couple of weeks is you know,
play it straight up, give a little bit more confidence
to your defense because they're earning that, and and you
don't have to go for it all the time. Field
goals are okay, punts are okay, play field position, get
(05:21):
the ball back and uh and then you know, go
do it again. All right, Let's go to Randy and
text or can and Randy, what's up, Bud?
Speaker 7 (05:27):
What's going on? Everybody? A theme of the day is
to be grateful. I'm grateful to my real family, and
I'm grateful to my storyline family. Y'all know what kind
of year I've had, what I've been through, and y'all
help me get through it. So I'm extremely grateful for that.
And I would invite you and you and Chris to
(05:48):
come by, but y'all. I know y'all gonna be busy
with the game, but anybody else is gonna be close
to Texacana areas. After Thanksgiving dinner done, come out to
the ouse. We're gonna have a fire, We're gonna have
some up drinks. We're gonna do some karaoke. I know
Travis went up, nor Sergeant Sue. If you're listening, you close,
Bring it on, brother, you can crash in my house.
Speaker 3 (06:09):
But yeah, I love this ye man, that would be interesting.
I like to see Sergeant Su on karaoke.
Speaker 7 (06:16):
Hey, it would be great.
Speaker 1 (06:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (06:18):
Yeah, you know he's got he's got the he's got
the storyline eyebrow because nobody, nobody can impersonate the Rock.
Speaker 6 (06:27):
Like this guy.
Speaker 8 (06:28):
I know.
Speaker 7 (06:29):
That's right.
Speaker 6 (06:30):
Yeah. Well what do you think, man, what do you
think about the game?
Speaker 7 (06:33):
Oh dude, I'm excited. I think we have a better
chance than what I mean. I know we need to
be scared of Patrick like everybody talking about, but I
think we have a chance. I think that they are
flying high right.
Speaker 9 (06:45):
Well I shouldn't use that.
Speaker 7 (06:46):
That sounds like Eagles crap, but uh, we are, We're
riding strong. There we go. That's a good cowboy phrase.
I guess, yeah, yeah, I feel good about it. And
you know, it's Thanksgiving, so everybody keeping on. You're with
your family where you're supposed to be. So if it
doesn't turn out, you know, like we wanted to, don't
(07:06):
let it ruin your time. Just some more turkey, all right?
All right, all right, hey pole, question of the day.
What'd you rather have? No gooey cranberry out of the
can or actual cranberry? I like the gooey out of
the can myself. All right, guys, love y'all have a
happy Thanksgiving.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
All right, sounds good. That's my c for none of
the above. No thank you for that. I just I
don't know. I don't I don't mix that kind of stuff.
It doesn't need I don't need anything sweet on the plate.
I just that's not I think.
Speaker 6 (07:40):
I think.
Speaker 3 (07:41):
I think the reason for that is the reason why
I'm not I'm not a sweet potato stuff or cranberry,
any of that stuff is mainly because when there's when
there's gravy, just just the whole thing, that's fine. Just
whatever gets on is fine, but not not for that.
So that's why I don't really mix that kind of stuff.
(08:01):
All right, all right, we have any calls, Chris. I'm
not going to sit here and talk about Thanksgiving.
Speaker 6 (08:06):
Any other malls. Yeah, Champing, the Nebraska Champing, Nebraska Champ.
What's up?
Speaker 10 (08:09):
Man? Hey, good morning, Nick. So I gotta apologize when
I called in Monday, and I wanted to bring up
a point. As so often happens, you don't hear what
the caller before you or what you were talking about. Yeah,
and you were just talking about uh Osa and how
great a job he was doing, and then I just
kind of jumped right on top of that. But that's
(08:30):
what happened.
Speaker 6 (08:30):
That's all right.
Speaker 3 (08:32):
It took me a little bit to understand that that
people don't necessarily hear that, but sometimes they do.
Speaker 6 (08:37):
I don't know. It's all good, right, Yosa.
Speaker 3 (08:41):
That play that Osa made needs to be talked about
more than once, so you know what good job?
Speaker 10 (08:47):
They absolutely? Hey, So okay, going to Thanksgiving and tomorrow.
I don't I'm sure you probably don't remember. You have
so many people to call in with so many backstories.
But my family and I were huge Texas tech fans.
I'm originally from Lublick before I moved up to Nebraska
been a Red Raider my whole life, and therefore, because
of Patrick Mahomes. My mom is a diehard Kansas City
(09:09):
Chiefs fan. Now that's the only reason. And about six
seven weeks ago, she came up to us on a
Sunday that we were all watching a Cowboys game there
and she wanted to make wagers with the whole family
for Thanksgiving. And at the time we were all like, Nope,
no way, not taking that. My dad was the only
(09:31):
one that said, I'll take that wager right now. I'll
do that. So they've got a little wager for tomorrow.
But I'm hoping that none of that ruins Thanksgiving and
that we can all still be civil after the Cowboys
win thirty seven to twenty seven. I think it's going
to be a high scoring game, an exciting game. I
think the whole atmosphere is going to be super awesome.
(09:53):
But I think that this team has turned a little corner.
The defense has figured some stuff out, I'm not saying,
and they're gonna make the run and make the playoffs.
You know, next week's gonna be tough, but next week
will take care of itself. Tomorrow, I think the Cowboys
do what the cowboys have been doing lately, and we
come out with the win. All right. With that said, man,
a happy Thanksgiving. I hope you and your family have
(10:15):
a blessed day tomorrow and whenever you get together on Friday.
Happy Thanksgiving storyline nations, Love all you guys.
Speaker 6 (10:22):
God bless all right, thanks man.
Speaker 3 (10:24):
You know, Thanksgiving is is when you can eat, you know,
That's what That's what always been. And I actually, I mean,
I'm gonna I'm gonna have some Thanksgiving dinner tonight. I'm
gonna get on the road after this show, and so
I'm gonna have the first dinner tonight. Second one will
probably be in the press box and uh tomorrow, and
(10:46):
that's always pretty good too, so they do a nice
job there. So and then if there's you know, who
knows what Friday and Saturday brings, I hope, hope whatever
wager that is, whoever wins that bet or loses that bet,
doesn't ruin the a weekend. One thing I've learned about
things like that is with you know, family dinners and
stuff like that, the amount of alcohol that's involved usually
(11:11):
is what determines whether or not it's it's either fun
or not or any kind of issues. Hopefully everything is
good there all right? Uh, Casey in l A is next? Casey, Hey, Nick,
how's it going? Good man? How are you? Good morning?
Speaker 9 (11:25):
Pretty good? Wanted wanted to share one of my favorite
Cowboy thanksgivings. This goes a few years back when we
were playing the then Redskins, not a very good Cowboys team,
but we blocked the field goal and in the mix
busted up Brian Barker's nose. The punter. Well, I've had
I've had a couple of beverages that day and in
(11:47):
the LA thing. So ended up going over to Julie Andrews,
the Julie Andrews and Blake Edwards house for Thanksgiving. So
we're sitting there, like I said, I had a couple
of bevies. We were going around saying what we were
thinking before, and I told her my thing, and Blake
didn't hear me, and he was like, what did he say?
And then Julie Andrews aka Mary Poppins the Sound of
(12:10):
Music said he said, He's thankful for the Dallas Cowboys
and just hearing her say that, plus it's such just
a real moment and I always think back to that one.
So hopefully the Cowboys come through with another victory on
this Thanksgiving. But wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving to Cowboys
Nation and especially um Beam and all the crew to
(12:31):
work so hard for us.
Speaker 1 (12:32):
Man.
Speaker 10 (12:33):
We appreciate you, guys.
Speaker 6 (12:34):
Thank you, thank you so much for saying that. Appreciate that.
Speaker 3 (12:37):
Hopefully the Cowboys can get another win like that against
It was a close game. If I remember against Washington.
Chad Hutchinson I believe, was the quarterback of the of
that game. But yeah, that's I can't believe how that's been,
like twenty three years since since that game. But yeah,
I definitely remember that visual that you're talking about. Fox
(13:00):
made sure did a close up on that.
Speaker 10 (13:03):
Not good.
Speaker 3 (13:04):
Dang, I got my score wrong on that one. I
thought it was twenty to seventeen. But I do remember Chad.
I'd just sitting throwing a touchdown to Antonio Bryant and
an interception by Roy Williams. Like a rookie year for him,
all right. Blair in Newport News, Virginia, Blair.
Speaker 11 (13:24):
Hey, hey, Nick, happy Thanksgiving too. Shelby would be here
with me. He's out riding his bike with his mom
right now. We're on vacation for Thanksgiving.
Speaker 3 (13:36):
It sounds like it sounds like Shelby's like seven, but
he's not. You know, the way you said that he's
not riding his bike could be in a little bit.
Speaker 11 (13:44):
Well, we had planned to call together, but you know,
like these vacation things, they sort of sort of intervene.
But I got to tell you I wanted to call
him with a comment and then a question. The comment
first is just to say thank you to the storyline,
you and Chris particular, because this season has been like
(14:07):
a unique one in my mind. It was a lot
of weird ups and downs, and navigating it has been
a little more challenging I think as a fan, and
yet at the same time, I think it's been more
manageable because of all the well I guess i'd call
it support, but you know, sort of just the contributions
(14:28):
from the fans and you and this show and everything
else has made that just a blast.
Speaker 12 (14:33):
And an otherwise emotionally season.
Speaker 11 (14:37):
Yeah, so I really appreciate that, and so does Shelby.
Speaker 10 (14:43):
The question.
Speaker 11 (14:44):
I keep thinking about this. It's like, I don't know,
three weeks ago, I probably would have thought the season,
and in particular this game with the Chiefs would be
a wash. We wouldn't have much of a chance. But
it seems like the trades we made in the return
of Overstown or to me, are the it's the real
(15:05):
key to us winning. And I just wanted your thoughts
on that, because man, I really had bleak thoughts about
this defense and now I don't know, it's kind of
becoming a brighter spot, right, I just wanted your thoughts
on that, and I'll let you guys go. And again,
thanks so much for all that you do, and for
(15:25):
Irene and Dylan and Rob in Vegas, but also Robbie
and Coco Beach. I traveled there often. He's taught me
how to watch a game even when we're down twenty
one nothing. So I appreciate everyone out there.
Speaker 6 (15:38):
Happy, Thanks all right, thank you, Blair.
Speaker 3 (15:39):
I appreciate that the defense, Yeah, I mean, without a doubt,
I think that the defense has turned the corner. And
once again players players matter, you know, I mean, you
need you need dudes. I mean, just just like some
of these great co which is you've seen in college football.
(16:02):
Whatever they get the best players, they get, the they
get the best recruiting. You don't see teams that that
that you know, finished twenty eighth in recruiting and then
they're first. No, it's it's it's why the cycle happens.
Speaker 6 (16:15):
That way.
Speaker 3 (16:15):
Players matter. Quinn Williams has has helped this team. He
makes the other guys around him better. He's also sounds
like he's playing better than and more active than what
he was doing with the Jets. And right now it's
it's working. But you know, you've you've beaten Geno Smith
and and Jalen Hurts and and Jalen Hurts is you know,
(16:35):
super Bowl MVP quarterback. So I'm not saying he's not
a great quarterback.
Speaker 4 (16:38):
He is.
Speaker 3 (16:39):
He is in his own way, but he doesn't do
the things that that these next quarterbacks are that you're
going to face. These next you know, three out of
the next four are probably considered the better passers in
the league. When when you could talk about Mahomes golf,
and then it'll be I think, I guess McCarthy, but
(17:00):
then after that Herbert. These guys can throw the ball
around and then they present a different challenge. So we're
gonna find out.
Speaker 6 (17:09):
Just what they can do.
Speaker 3 (17:10):
And I think getting Pacheco back is going to help them.
He's a really good violent runner and and he just
kind of compliments what they're doing. So we'll see, we'll
see how how it goes. But yeah, no doubt about
defense playing much better. All right, I'm a in Napa, California.
I'm a what's up?
Speaker 4 (17:27):
Hey, what's up?
Speaker 13 (17:28):
Nick?
Speaker 4 (17:28):
Two days in a row? Man, go Bill, good fell Lucky.
Speaker 6 (17:32):
You can't believe it in the street going.
Speaker 4 (17:33):
I love it right right, just just like my boys
in a row.
Speaker 14 (17:38):
Let's go all right, Hey, hey, I'm I'm.
Speaker 4 (17:42):
Excited to see Quinn Williams, uh, you know, match up
with Chris Chows. I know they're not necessarily going to
play against each other, but you know, it's just like
the same thing guys on the other side of the field,
Like who's gonna make more noise in the game.
Speaker 10 (17:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (17:55):
I definitely thought that, you know, we did that last
week with Carter, and I thought that Williams definitely made
you know, Carter made a couple of plays and stuff,
but I felt like, you know, Williams Quinn in to definitely, uh,
you know, it's more productive. I'm a little worried about
the receivers, you know, obviously, you know on the outside
(18:18):
and stuff. I'm not too worried about you know, Kelsey
or even hunt even by check to check o for
that much if he plays or how much he plays,
But yeah, worried about the receivers on the outside. And
then you know when when Mahomes gets pressure, he never
takes his eyes off of down the field. And he's
more willing to run this year. And it's somewhat last
(18:41):
year too, but more willing to run this year than
he ever has been in his career. Just what do
you think about the cowboy spying spying him? And then uh, man,
any any storylines or any stories you have about you know,
your favorite Thanksgiving. I know you're always working him. It's tough,
and you know you don't have family time, but sorry
as much family time, but you know, any cool stories
(19:03):
and stuff like that that you wouldn't want to share
or anything would be great, And man, go cowboys. I
think it's gonna be a close game, but I think
they just pull it out. And man, you and all
the other storyliners have a great Thanksgiving. Everybody be safe
in their travels, you know, love their family, Tell how
much all of that stuff and let's go cowboys. Man,
(19:27):
great time. Nick.
Speaker 6 (19:28):
Thanks thanks for the all right, thanks for the call.
Speaker 3 (19:32):
Okay, you know, I'm I'm sitting here thinking, I don't
have a specific one that that that I think about
when it comes to Thanksgiving. I remember the first one
in the streak of these these games, and it's actually
ninety eight. That's the first time. I wasn't working for
(19:52):
the Cowboys. I was working with Staul Falls and so
with my uh my boss was named Nick, and he
was there. He's uh no longer with this, but he
he drove, we drove to the game. We ate it
like a Loubi's and then went to the game. And
I remember working with him sitting way up high in
the high press box at Texas Stadium. But watched Randy
(20:13):
Moss and the Vikings that day, and uh, that's the
first one. And if you would have told me that,
I would have you know, I would be here at
every Thanksgiving since since then. I don't think, I know,
I wouldn't believe that one, but I would. I wouldn't
have argued with it. It's been it's been great. I
just love it. I just love the pageantry about it.
It's just it's such a great tradition. And you know
(20:35):
when people would say, man, why why do people have
to work on Thanksgiving, It's like because just think of
how many people sit at home and watch these games,
and and somebody has to work it, you know, somebody has.
Speaker 6 (20:46):
To do it.
Speaker 3 (20:47):
And and we you know, we don't have a huge
role in it, but at least cover the game. And
and it's I'm just so it's so fun to be
a part of it.
Speaker 6 (20:54):
I love it.
Speaker 3 (20:56):
I can't wait to be there tomorrow. And man, the
atmosphere is going to be electric because you know, there's
gonna be a ton of Chiefs fans and what that
does is that raises the level for the Cowboys fans.
So all right, let's go Anthony and Miami real quick
before break. Anthony, what's that?
Speaker 6 (21:10):
Man?
Speaker 13 (21:11):
Take it quick? What's up my guy?
Speaker 6 (21:13):
How are you?
Speaker 13 (21:15):
I'm pretty good. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family,
see Being and his family and all the storyliners.
Speaker 1 (21:20):
Yu.
Speaker 13 (21:20):
I'm in and not to say my people are up
in Tampa. I had to come back to Miami take
care of some things, do this giveaway with these loan
showmen down here.
Speaker 11 (21:29):
And that's what we do.
Speaker 13 (21:30):
Day of thanks and a day of giving. So what's
gonna happen Thursday? I told you I got two mantras.
I'm keeping till we get ten sixty one and get
the seventh playoff spot. As I predicted, I'm not switching.
That's how bad do you want it? They show them
how bad they wanted a two and oh when I
said it, all right, and my score, my score will
(21:54):
be honoring a guy who should have been in the
Hall of Fame. Two guys, it's gonna be twenty eight,
twenty four. Know who those cowboy numbers are?
Speaker 6 (22:01):
You said, who's great Dan Woodson?
Speaker 13 (22:03):
Twenty great Dan Woodson and the great Everson Walls. That's
my score. So, like I said, how bad do you
want it? That's number one and win the game by
any means necessary. And you saw that last So every
Thanksgiving guys, all.
Speaker 6 (22:21):
Right, thank you Anthony?
Speaker 14 (22:22):
All right now, yes, sir, well, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (22:26):
If Everson Walls is going to get in. Uh he
got close a few years ago and then hasn't gotten
back to that level. Woody though he's gotten close for
now for four years in a row. It's a semi
Finalists'll see if he makes it down to the finalist
list and it'll happen.
Speaker 6 (22:43):
He knows that.
Speaker 3 (22:43):
I think I think everybody kind of knows that it'll
it'll happen. Keep getting that close and eventually it'll it'll
work out for him. But yeah, as far as this
game goes, I mean, and he means possible, I mean,
that's what That's what it's gonna take. It's gonna take
that because this is gonna be a challenge this defense
has in faced jet. I think I think with the
(23:05):
with this game, I just don't think the Cowboys can
get down like that.
Speaker 6 (23:08):
They you know, I don't.
Speaker 3 (23:11):
You can't spot them twenty one points and expect that
you're just gonna come back.
Speaker 6 (23:15):
You can't really do that with anyone.
Speaker 3 (23:17):
But but man, I think I think this is a
game where the Cowboys have to be the ones in
control of the game, because when they're in control, they
can kind of play the way that they want to play.
That's why that touchdown before halftime was so so big,
because it allowed them to at least stay close enough
where they didn't have to abandon what their game plan was,
and twenty one to seven at the half, they were

Chris and Saratoga Springs New York.
Speaker 12 (25:58):
Hey, Nick, how are you doing?
Speaker 17 (26:00):
Not too bad? I just wanted to wish you and
the show and everybody a part of it a happy Thanksgiving,
all right, thank you. I just want to I want
to comment a little bit on the job you've guys
done the last two weeks on the show, with all
the stuff going on and all the awareness you guys
have brought to the situation. Just want to congratulate you guys.
(26:20):
You've had great shows, and I'm glad I'm at least
I can be a part of it. Every once in
a while when I call in, I just want to
again just say congratulations, you guys are doing a fantastic job.
Speaker 6 (26:30):
Well, thank you so much for saying that. I appreciate that.
Speaker 10 (26:32):
You're welcome.
Speaker 17 (26:33):
My one comment I have is about Shoddy. I think
moving forward, if if we go on a little run
here and win a bunch of games like I think
we might do, I really think he has a shot
winning Coach of the Year with all the stuff he's
had to handle and endure. Right off the bat. You
get Michael Parsons traded right before the start of the season.
You know that he had to deal with Mark Shawn
(26:55):
nelon incident, all the injuries we've had to deal with.
I think he's done a fantastic job and I think
if he can come up with a couple more wins,
he'll have a real shot at this Coach of the Year.
And what do you think about that?
Speaker 3 (27:06):
I don't agree, only because I think that that that
award is is already out. I mean, like, is there
any way that that that Vrabel doesn't win that, like,
you know, for didn't this his first year with with
the with the Patriots. I mean, I I how can
you not give it to him? You know, I mean,
(27:28):
they're they're not just a success story. I mean that
they're the number one team in the AFC, I believe
right now so and they've won so many in a
row with a young quarterback. I just feel like that
one is a no brainer. But I could be wrong.
I mean, you know, they could lose some games, and
you know, if you're right, if if if it would
be a good year if you didn't have that story.
But I just I find that one hard to believe
(27:50):
that that, you know, especially with a lot of those
voters are all in the Northeast. I have a hard
time thinking that that's not gonna gonna be one. And
and I don't know if I mean, I don't know
if he wouldn't be the best choice.
Speaker 6 (28:02):
But I hear what you're saying.
Speaker 3 (28:04):
I'm not trying to like downplay what you're saying, because
it would be a great coaching job, especially if you
can turn this thing around. But it does seem like
there's another big obstacle in the way for that one.
Speaker 6 (28:17):
Right.
Speaker 17 (28:18):
As far as as far as this game coming up,
I was really confident last week against the Philadelphia Eagles.
I thought for sure we were going to win that game,
and we did. This week, it's going to be real tough.
I agree one hundred percent. We we can't get down
twenty one nothing against Patrick Mahomes and that team. I
do think we're going to win. I think the score
is going to be twenty one to seventeen, and I
(28:41):
think we're going to keep this train rolling. And that's
all I got for today.
Speaker 3 (28:43):
All right, sounds good? Twenty one seventeen. Yeah, I mean
that that'll be a fun game. I see a little high,
more highest scoring than that. I just I think that
it'll be not in that forty. But I kind of
think it'll be thirties. I think you gotta score thirty
to win this one. So I see a little bit
(29:06):
more high scoring than that. But you know, the Cowboys
have to they can't. They can't be flat like that.
I mean, there's no reason to be flat. I've seen
it though, I've seen it happen. I've seen games, you know,
on Thanksgiving where you know that you have a lot
more you know, the excitement, you're coming into it, a
little bit on a roll. There's some pageantry there. And
(29:30):
I've seen some just bad games. So I mean, I'm
not saying this will be one of those, but I
know I've been surprised before. The one that pops out
to me is the two thousand and three season, first
year with Parcels. I think it was a pretty good
team ten and six, but that game and Thanksgiving against
the Dolphins was just like wow, I mean, it got
they just got beat really bad. Chris Chambers was making
(29:54):
all these kinds of plays. Then I remember a few
years ago, like twenty seventeen with the Argers that was
a really bad loss Bills. Maybe a couple of years
after that, So there there have been some some bad
ones and they kind of surprise you.
Speaker 6 (30:11):
But I know this.
Speaker 3 (30:12):
If you're playing the NFC East, if you put the
Giants or Washington on here, Uh, there's been a lot
of success there. But you know, quarterback like this, you
never know it's gonna it's gonna be fun.
Speaker 6 (30:22):
All right. Let's go to Jr. Evandale Arizona Jr.
Speaker 10 (30:28):
Ni.
Speaker 18 (30:29):
How you doing today?
Speaker 10 (30:30):
Man?
Speaker 6 (30:30):
How are you?
Speaker 7 (30:31):
I'm doing good?
Speaker 12 (30:32):
Hey?
Speaker 18 (30:32):
Just for the record, Thanksgiving Eve is a real thing,
is it?
Speaker 6 (30:36):
Okay?
Speaker 18 (30:37):
Both of both of my kids called me this morning.
Mind you, they're adult. Both of them called me to
wish me a happy Thanksgiving Eve. So it is a
real thing, all right. Just for the record, cool, all right.
So I just see a difference in this defense. I
know it's kind of all just been talked about, but
I'm just kind of pointing it out. It's just more
(30:59):
physical Ethans. If Sam Williams chasing down Barkley and and
clubbing the ball from him, that's such a huge play.
And just what Clark did. He's bouncing off the ground,
rolling around, He goes down there and lays the guy out,
gets us a fumble. Marku's belln right there with him.
We wanted this physical team, and I think it's all
(31:19):
coming together at the right time. I got to talk
about the Osa play because Landon Dickerson was grabbing anything
and everything he could to try to stop him, never
slowed him down. It's just like playing football in the
park with the neighborhood kids. But one's on your back
and one's holding your leg and they just can't slow
you down. And he couldn't slow down OSA. And I
(31:42):
don't think that plays talked about enough, just determined physical,
He just he just he just kicked Jafferson's ass. And
then I hope, I hope that cd is is ready
because I just watching the Chiefs play. I don't think
I know they's gonna let He's not gonna let Pickens
(32:04):
beat him. He Lamb may beat him, or Williams may
beat him, but I just don't think he's gonna let
Pickens beat him. And my last thing is I want
to make a comment about Travon Diggs. He's one of
my favorite players, and I like watching the guy play,
and I just I think a lot happened with the
guy now. And I don't know Trayvon from Adam, but
(32:25):
I just think a lot's happened with the guy with
his rehab and losing the bonus, and I think the
Cowboys gave him the four weeks off to get his
head right because they're.
Speaker 4 (32:37):
Going to need him.
Speaker 18 (32:38):
And I think that he's going to come back here
against the Lions and it's gonna make a big difference
on this defense. And that's all I got.
Speaker 3 (32:46):
And a great family, all right, thank you, have a
good Thanksgiving as well. And I can't remember all the
points now, I should have written those down. They Osa play,
you know, to have to have a little bit more
strength at they you know, a little bit more gas
(33:06):
in the tank, you know, that's that's part of think
about it. What they they've got now, they've got a
really good rotation of defensive tackles with Clark and obviously
Quinn Williams and now even Solomon Thomas in there and
with Osa, So have a little bit more there at
the end of the game to make those plays, make
those dynamic plays. Maybe maybe that's something to that, Diggs.
(33:29):
You know, I'm just done speculating. I don't even know.
Nobody really knows. I know he's eligible to play. He's
not going to play this week. They didn't open his window,
but he could, he could have played this week if
they were ready for it. I don't know if it
was to get his head right, I don't I don't
know if that's the case. I mean, I've heard so
many different things. I know now though, that it's not
off the table that he could come back. They can
(33:54):
bring him back, and he could come back. There's there's
some other little politics involved there, but I'm with ye
if he if he's you know, I want to see
him playing football. And I think he's one of your
better corner and he is your best corner. And when
he's when he's out there, when he's ready, locked in,
ready to play, Yes, he's your best cornerback on the field,
and and and he makes the other guys around him
so much better. I just want just once with this
(34:17):
kind of pass rush and that what they have at
the front seven. I just want to see Digs out
there with with Revel and then of course with Bland.
Speaker 9 (34:28):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (34:28):
I'd like to see that. Nothing against the other guys.
Kaalen Carson has done a good job, but I want
to see those other guys too. And then as far
as is uh, you know, not letting Pickens beat you.
You can't double the guy the whole game. And I
thought what Dak said yesterday was very telling. He said,
if if Pickens is one on one, he's open. That's
(34:52):
that's that's his mindset. So it was whole you know,
the question was something about you know, do you do
you see do you do you just throw it even
though he he's covered, You think, well, he's he's open.
Speaker 6 (35:02):
He goes, well, if he's one on one, he's open.
So that being said, you know.
Speaker 3 (35:07):
You can't you you can take away guys in front
of him, behind, but you can't put anything on top
of the guy. He's gonna go jump over you, you know,
not calling him Randy Moss, but it's that type of
play where just throw it up, you know, because I'm
I'm I'm gonna go make the play. So that's that's
a weapon. That's an advantage that you have. Yeah, you can,
you can maybe put different guys around him and all that,
(35:29):
but we've seen him go up over to guys, so
it's gonna it's hard to just keep him out of
the game. But but you know what, go ahead and
try because doing that doesn't guarantee you that he's not
gonna make the plays. It's also gonna probably make CD
one on one and you know, CD's done pretty good
when he's doing when he's bouncing back.
Speaker 6 (35:49):
All right, Derek and Minnesota, Derek, what's up?
Speaker 4 (35:53):
Bord? And Nick?
Speaker 12 (35:53):
How are you doing good?
Speaker 6 (35:54):
How are you?
Speaker 19 (35:55):
I'm doing fantastic, Just sitting at my Pj's drinking coffee.
First time caller, by the way, nice nice layout like
it lifetime lifetime fan. Yeah, listen, I mean I'm still
I'm still just in cloud nine from uh, from the
from the Eagles game.
Speaker 10 (36:14):
Uh.
Speaker 19 (36:16):
I was so mad because when I when I saw that,
I saw I sat turf and fumble and he went
down twenty one and nothing. I was so mad. I
went I turned off the game and put up Christmas
lights and then I looked at my phone and I
saw that we we're down twenty one to fourteen and
we had the ball. And I'm like, oh my gosh,
I'm watching me.
Speaker 12 (36:38):
Sit down and watch this.
Speaker 6 (36:39):
Wow.
Speaker 19 (36:40):
And then I saw we won, and I was just
like going nuts. My wife was making it was making
was making was making fun of me, and it was
a great time.
Speaker 3 (36:48):
But well, I mean, honestly, it was probably her fault, right,
he was probably the one nagging at you to get
through the Christmas lights.
Speaker 19 (36:55):
Up Well, she was actually upstairs. Uh so she's a
huge Vikings fan and so.
Speaker 6 (37:01):
Yeah, yeah, so'll talk about that in a few weeks.
Speaker 19 (37:06):
Well, hey, I mean I've been telling her, you know,
and we you know, she might want us to win,
you know, if the Vikings keep playing the way they're
playing right right anyway, I just I mean, I even
if we don't make the playoffs this year, I'm already
feeling great about this team. I'm giving them the nickname
Sheriff Shoddy, Sheriff Shotty. He's uh, he's got this team
(37:30):
mentally tough. She turned it around, Uh, like a new
sheriff in town. And uh, I also gonna go to
the Osa play. I was talking to my dad after
the game, and you know, he told me, like, you know,
so you know, the Spanish name for bear is osa
or OsO so osa the bear. Oh diggi zua What
(37:54):
do you think?
Speaker 3 (37:55):
He's already got a lot of a lot of syllables. Anyway,
so we trying to to it.
Speaker 6 (38:00):
But yeah, you're right.
Speaker 3 (38:01):
Also, I believe is Spanish for bear. Yeah, he was
scratching and clawing his way to the quarterback on that
one great play. We've talked about that a lot today
and it really, you know, helped him win the game.
It was the play of the game. Let me go
to break one more time a Cowboys story and I'm
going to be right back after this.
Speaker 1 (38:23):
All right, Cowboys fans, this one's for you.

Speaker 6 (39:44):
Let's go. Let's stay in the state of.
Speaker 3 (39:46):
Minnesota, which I don't know if he's on your list, Chris,
but he is on our list. Here Lestern, Minnesota.
Speaker 14 (39:54):
Good morning everyone, Happy Thanksgiving Cowboys fan.
Speaker 6 (39:58):
What's up?
Speaker 14 (40:00):
Hey man, I'm really pleased with the way things are going,
and I'm not gonna hold you up today. I just
know that if we win five out of the next six,
I know one game at the time, I got it,
but I'm just looking ahead. I can look ahead. I'm
not playing five out of the that last six, and
(40:20):
then I believe I saw somewhere we have. If we
went five of the last six, we got an eighty
two percent chan of making the playoffs. So I'm predicted
that we win tomorrow twenty seven, twenty one, and go Cowboys.
Happy Thanksgiving, all right, love.
Speaker 6 (40:38):
It, appreciate the call.
Speaker 3 (40:41):
Yeah, I mean, so five out of six put some
at what ten six and one? I do think seven
ten and seven has made it to the playoffs the
last three years since they went seventeen games. I think
(41:01):
ten to seven has made it at least in AFC
or NFC. Ten six and one is gonna is gonna
There's gonna be some other ten and sevens probably, and
so that's gonna put you ahead of it.
Speaker 18 (41:11):
You know.
Speaker 6 (41:11):
It's what's weird.
Speaker 3 (41:12):
To tie really messes things up, or or maybe it
makes it easier one way or another. But when you
see these other teams and you're like, well you want
Carolina to lose or the Bears to lose or Viking
or whatever it is, You're probably not gonna be tied
with anyone unless it's the Packers, and I don't know
if you're gonna be tied with them.
Speaker 6 (41:33):
So it doesn't really matter what these other teams.
Speaker 3 (41:37):
You know, well they have the tiebreaker on you or whatever,
I mean, your your record, You're not gonna be tied
with anyone other than Green Bay. So I don't see
a whole lot of tie breaking situations there and it's
gonna be pretty easy to figure that out. Now, if
it does get to Green Bay, then you know, then
(41:58):
then they'll they'll go down the normal tiebreaker. You know,
it'll be almost like they didn't play because that game
will be moved out. Then we'll go to conference record
and all that. So but yeah, it's just when when
I think about these other games and you know who
you want them to lose, But it's it'd be pretty easy.
I mean, I think ten six and one is where
(42:18):
it has to be. I definitely don't think it a
nine seven and one is going to get there at all.
All right, let's go to let's go to Cowboys Steve
silver Springs, Maryland.
Speaker 6 (42:31):
What's that man?
Speaker 22 (42:33):
Hey, cowboy Steve second time caller. I have a tomly
Thanksgiving jokes for Cowboys fans. After the big window the
Eagles on last last week, Cowboys fans are not having
traditional turkey for Thanksgiving. They are having eagle. You may
(42:53):
ask why eagle is an easier bird to catch even
when it's ahead of.
Speaker 3 (42:59):
You nice how far ahead, like like twenty one yards
ahead of you.
Speaker 22 (43:05):
Twenty one yards a hit up you, You can still catch.
Speaker 6 (43:07):
An eagle and you know what happens when you catch it.
Speaker 22 (43:11):
You kill it.
Speaker 9 (43:11):
It hurts late.
Speaker 10 (43:13):
That's right, all right, all right, my joke.
Speaker 3 (43:16):
Thanks, good one, all right, thank you, all right, thanks,
thanks for the call.
Speaker 6 (43:22):
We've got time.
Speaker 3 (43:22):
We got more callers. All right, let's go to Jason.
He's in New Jersey.
Speaker 23 (43:27):
Hey, what's going on?
Speaker 14 (43:28):
How are you good?
Speaker 6 (43:29):
How are you doing?
Speaker 23 (43:31):
I'm doing great, man, I'm doing great. Good to get
to talk to you again. It's been about a year.
Speaker 6 (43:37):
Yeah, that's good enough. I'll take you all right. Matter.
You know, I've changed the rules a little bit. This
is it's not first time, it's his first time in
a while. Callers.
Speaker 23 (43:46):
Okay, there we go, there we go. Yeah it works, man. Yeah,
I always appreciate the show man. You and Chris be Man,
all you guys do a great job. You guys definitely
keep my mind busy and you keep me hopeful as well.
Appreciate that, Yeah, of course, man. And yeah, I mean,
you know, my only thing is I guess I'm just
calling in. I mean, you know, I'll throw my prediction
out there real quick for you. But you know, I
(44:08):
don't remember us ever beating the Chiefs, but I hope
we do. I really do. I know, hope it's not
a strategy, but you know, I believe in this team
and I think they can.
Speaker 10 (44:15):
Really do it.
Speaker 23 (44:17):
I'm gonna say low scoring. I don't think it's going
to be a high scoring game. I think it's going
to be a defensive battle. I'm going to go with
a really odd like fifteen to twenty one Cowboys.
Speaker 6 (44:28):
About twenty one fifteen Cowboys.
Speaker 9 (44:31):
Yeah, sir, it is kind of odd.
Speaker 6 (44:34):
I don't remember that score. I've been off all day
to day. I haven't none of these scores that have
come through have triggered.
Speaker 3 (44:40):
Any games for me, So I don't remember a twenty
one fifteen, But I think, yeah, yeah, all right, good stuff.
Speaker 6 (44:47):
Thanks.
Speaker 1 (44:48):
I appreciate that.
Speaker 4 (44:49):
Man.
Speaker 6 (44:49):
All Right, we're going to keep it rolling.
Speaker 12 (44:50):
Here.
Speaker 6 (44:51):
We got Chris in San Angelo, probably our last one.
Speaker 10 (44:54):
Chris.
Speaker 17 (44:54):
What's up, hey, mister Nick.
Speaker 12 (44:56):
How you doing this day?
Speaker 6 (44:57):
Good?
Speaker 10 (44:58):
Awesome?
Speaker 12 (44:59):
Awesome?
Speaker 13 (44:59):
Hey?
Speaker 12 (45:00):
I heard you earlier this week talking about Thanksgiving being
your favorite holiday. I will concur there because I mean,
just think about it. Family, food, football, and you know
the cherry on top is you don't have to buy
gifts for you, so you know there's that you can
just have fun without that stress. Hey, let's see for
(45:24):
this game, first of all, the last one that we
need to lay off of dealing with his tweets, because
if you'd have been around me in the first during
the first half of that game the other day, I
got my vocabulary, got a little creative. So we'll give
them a break on that.
Speaker 10 (45:44):
This one.
Speaker 12 (45:45):
Cowboys, if they're gonna, if they're gonna do it, they
gotta do this, and they got to win if they're
they're gonna be a playoff team. So I'm gonna say,
chavonn Rebel does something really big, creates, creates the fun
and turns the game around and Cowboys win. Twenty four.
Speaker 3 (46:06):
All right, that's the second one that we've seen of
twenty eight to twenty four. All right, good stuff, twenty
eight twenty four Cowboys.
Speaker 6 (46:19):
It just hit me.
Speaker 3 (46:19):
I think they lost to the Vikings a few years back,
twenty eight twenty four at home.
Speaker 6 (46:24):
But that's the only one I can remember there. All right, guys, great,
great week.
Speaker 3 (46:28):
I know it's short week, three episodes in and we're
not gonna have another show till the following Monday. So
but if you know, if it's something glorious that happens
tomorrow against the Chiefs. I'm sure it can wait a
few days and we will talk about it all then.
So we'll just get a lay out here and remember
(46:49):
we have shows all day today, Chris will be working
all day long, and that we've got a full slate
of them starting are continuing with Cowboys Break right after this.
All right, guys. For Chris Beam, I'm Nick Eatman. I
want to say Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Thank you for
everything that you do. I am very thankful for for
for you guys, because we don't have this show if
(47:10):
it's not for the callers. We had a few first
time callers today. That's always awesome. Love to hear from
from the first time callers, love to hear from from
the guys that guys and girls they call all the
time as well.
Speaker 6 (47:23):

We got it on today's show, and we've had it
really all season long. I hope you know how thankful
that I am because this this show is the third
season of it and it's going better than I ever thought.
My family loves to show. My parents they listen every
single day and they really it's been a great connection
(47:44):
for for a lot of people and a great connection
for you guys all over the place to kind of
get to know each other as a community. It's gone
better than I could have ever thought, and you're the
reason for it.

So all right.
