Good morning, morning, I gotta do.
Speaker 4 (00:45):
It's okay.
Speaker 5 (00:46):
It a little bit.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
Like I mean, good morning. You have the real thing
in the flesh.
Speaker 5 (00:55):
Wake ups back to back Christmas. Wake up like a
little mixtape.
Speaker 2 (00:59):
We wake up mixtape like that.
Speaker 4 (01:01):
Yeah, my cousin produces. We'll see. She can really let's see,
she would make a little mix for you.
Speaker 5 (01:05):
I can really wrap him drop a mixtape.
Speaker 4 (01:08):
Yeah, it's a fact.
Speaker 5 (01:10):
It's a fact.
Speaker 4 (01:12):
Wake Up, Barnacles. The drop is gonna be.
Speaker 2 (01:16):
That's sick.
Speaker 5 (01:17):
Oh my gosh, I'm not gonna bop like that.
Speaker 4 (01:20):
Barnacles look better.
Speaker 5 (01:21):
We need a hook.
Speaker 2 (01:22):
Yeah, we'll figure it out.
Speaker 4 (01:24):
Anywayslet's put Chris on the hook that part.
Speaker 3 (01:27):
Okay, Well, while we're figuring that out, the Cowboys got
a lot to figure out because that injury report was
lengthy yesterday.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
Uh, I show what do you have for the injury
report today? Today? There we go.
Speaker 4 (01:38):
Uh is looking like a what is what? What is it?
At the beginning of a book?
Speaker 5 (01:44):
The table. It's long, but normally I type it out.
I told when I tweeted it out and tagged the station,
I was like, it's too long to type today, so I'm.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
Just taking a picture.
Speaker 6 (01:55):
Yeah, so we're gonna get through the dude did not
practice humans. Uh, Tyler Booker with the ankle, did not practice.
But it does sound like he's trending in the right direction.
Ceedee lamb. Same with what Schottenheimer said yesterday, is that
he feels like they're training in the right direction.
Speaker 4 (02:11):
I don't.
Speaker 6 (02:11):
I think it is tell somewhere else for wow, Jackson
Born is still in concussion of protocol. He did not
practice yesterday. Cavante Turpin dealing with the foot sounds like
you ladies. I saw you ladies send out some information
saying that he was very vocal.
Speaker 4 (02:25):
And honest about the fact that he probably won't go
this week.
Speaker 6 (02:28):
I think you won't. I think you can manage without him.
Speaker 4 (02:31):
This week.
Speaker 6 (02:32):
Donovan Wilson is dealing with the elbow slash need that
feels huge for that safety room, so we might see
some changes there depending on how things are later.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
In the week.
Speaker 4 (02:40):
Let's stop with the Barnacles.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
Yes, okay, great, great, great, Start with the do not.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
Participate guys yesterday or five. I'm swimming all right, count
it's their cavante. Turpin got a chance to catch up
with him in locker room. I mean, I feel like
he even told me that he's going to be back. Well,
he's expecting to be back next week. I've also heard
that ceedee lamb, it's trying to get back next week.
Of course, we'll hear from the coordinators and Shottenheimer well
(03:06):
coordinators tomorrow, Shottenheimer Friday to get that confirmation. But it's right,
Today's Thursday.
Speaker 4 (03:12):
Goodness, it's okay, No, it's okay, it's okay.
Speaker 5 (03:14):
I's great today, Yeah, today's day.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
We hear from corodinators, then we hear from Shaddy tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
Hopefully he will confirm that.
Speaker 3 (03:21):
But it does look like you know what I should
mention those guys are trending.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
In the right direction.
Speaker 3 (03:28):
But I feel like as of right now, confidence level
in the receiver room with.
Speaker 6 (03:32):
What you got, what's what's looking like, it's pretty yeah high,
And I know we're going to get into this panther
secondary a little bit more today. I think the Cowboys
can manage, especially with if they're able to run the ball,
which may not be super easy against this team, but yeah,
I think they'll be alright.
Speaker 5 (03:47):
Yeah, I love how much just hearing from Pickins yesterday.
I know we hear from CD later today, most likely
because it's our Thursday for him, but just even Tamante
Turpin who's not in like the it feels like not
only for them before each other, and it just feels
it feels light. It feels like kiddish high school type
of energy college culture that we were talking about. Just
(04:08):
to see George Pickens kind of light up when he's
talking about flow right, and how like the guys everyone
is so happy from the coaching staff, Like the other
day Shaannenheimer talked about he's just so proud of him,
me so happy he's worked so hard for this. We've
talked about it, but to hear like the guys he
works and who are technically going against he's so happy
for him. And then Cavante Turpin, he was hilarious yesterday
(04:30):
if that I know that videos posted on Dallas Cowboys YouTube.
It's hilarious. His spirit. He's ready to be back on
that field. But even I think on the sidelines, just
seeing the offense click without him be able to keep going.
I think CD two will hear from him. And we
heard a love from last week as well. You see
clips online of CD is like a proud dad, like
he's so hyped and he's like, that's a touchdown like
(04:52):
before it's even happening for Flow, for Pickens, and I
think that's just the difference this year in the offense,
not saying that that's wasn't there last year, like rooting
for each other, but it's so visible this year. It's
contagious and it seems like cliche, but honestly, like we
just had a good time just listening to Pickens and
(05:12):
just how everything's clicking. And yes, it's early and they're
kind of like, you know, they don't want to tooth
thirw on horn because it is very early in the season.
But also like, look what we're doing right, So I'm excited.
I'm excited to hear from Dak what he has to
say later on. But this is good stuff offensively, Like
I could talk about the Cowboys offense all day because
it's fun.
Speaker 7 (05:29):
Oh yeah, go ahead, sorry, you got to okay, your.
Speaker 4 (05:33):
Head coaches seems fun.
Speaker 6 (05:35):
Even him clapping back yesterday and just like some of
his vibe and just listen to him break down how
he looks at offense. I was like, he gets it,
and that's exciting. And I think, say what you want
to say, but players know, players know what works in
the league. They be watching games, they be playing mad
and they know they but they do.
Speaker 4 (05:56):
They know what works offensively in this game.
Speaker 6 (05:58):
And even when I had the opportunity to be in
the locker room conversations you've had with offensive players, they
they're confident because again, they know the trends of the league.
Speaker 4 (06:08):
They know what's effective.
Speaker 6 (06:09):
And Schottenheimer is really implementing some of the more positive
things that are done in the NFL on the offensive
side of the ball, and I think that that's also
what you're seeing. And then the input as well, they're
allowed to input, even on side of the sideline. You
saw that Dak them Pickens and Dak building a connection.
Is that you got a quarterback that's playing at this
level that he can see stuff.
Speaker 4 (06:31):
You guys can come together.
Speaker 6 (06:32):
Dak tells Pickens just run because he's like, I know
that you're gonna get this one on one and I
know you can beat this guy. And that's that's high
level offense. That's just being aware, and I think these
guys are excited to just be playing at that level.
Speaker 4 (06:44):
Like you're saying, free, All.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
Right, well let's go into Jack Sanbourne.
Speaker 4 (06:48):
Yeah, coose.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
That live backer room there, you saw Shamar James, Mary's leu.
Speaker 3 (06:56):
Foul, Kenneth Murray getting some work in your yesterday together. Obviously,
you know the team's prepping for if Jack Sanborne will
not be there this week.
Speaker 2 (07:07):
So just talk about those guys. Do y'all like that group?
Speaker 3 (07:10):
Huh?
Speaker 4 (07:10):
Better?
Speaker 2 (07:11):
We say, do y'all like those three playing together?
Speaker 5 (07:13):
Better?
Speaker 3 (07:14):
Then Jack Sanborne Manning man in the middle and then
Kenneth Murray.
Speaker 6 (07:18):
So it's kind of hard because when you watch Jack Sanbourne,
it's not that like you can literally see him. You
can see his eyes, you can see his helmet, you
see him reading the plays, he just.
Speaker 4 (07:27):
Is not fast enough to get there actively.
Speaker 6 (07:30):
And then when you look at Murray, who's gonna be
running the mic, some of his processing, some of his
decision making is not as quick triggered as you will like.
Speaker 7 (07:38):
And then you got the Nuggets who just out.
Speaker 6 (07:41):
There playing, running and sometimes running into the wrong run
lanes or sometimes.
Speaker 4 (07:48):
I mean, the Cowboys have.
Speaker 6 (07:51):
One of the worst tackling teams in NFL as well,
and a lot of that's coming from the second level.
They gotta regardless of who's out there, they got to
be better tackling. They gotta better angles, they gotta be
It's just I don't at that unit has room to improve.
I will say that I think that the younger guys
might be helpful right now because if even they make mistakes,
(08:12):
at least they fast enough.
Speaker 5 (08:13):
Yeah, and Shoanheimer, i mean he literally talks about it
feels like every single week they gotta be better at
the second level, they got to be better at tackling.
And it's like at some point like where's the change,
And you saw the change. It was a force change
because Samborne went out, but it did. We talked about
that too. When it happened when Christy was here. I know,
just she's on the sideline right like a little closer
(08:35):
than all of us are in just the feeling of
the defense, the flow of it. Yes, there's those mistakes,
but I think Maris like just to see him change
the tempo of the game.
Speaker 4 (08:47):
He at least makes players.
Speaker 5 (08:48):
Yes, yes, you didn't see the bonehead penalties like you
did the week before where it was like we were
rooting for him and then it was just like what
was going on out there? And it's sitting there listening
to eberflu talk every Thursday. It's a question that comes
up literally every week, like, Okay, when does a Maris
get more snaps? What are you seeing from? What do
(09:09):
you need to see more from you know, Shamar James
to get out there or what have you? Do you
still have faith in Samborn like that comes up every time,
and he does like he talks about him playing well
and leading the guys like I used to said, but
it does feel like he's always just like a half
tick behind of what actually is going on the field.
And I feel like every time I'm looking at my
sheet again, I have a different view from the press
box and I'm looking down like, Okay, who was that,
(09:30):
and it's always him. I feel like I'm just like, well,
because teams areeams.
Speaker 6 (09:34):
Teams have been more too, so it's like, you know, yeah,
teams have been attacking you. But to your point, I
think it's a trusting and also to he just knows
the calls and that's awesome, but how valuable it's It's
to Nicole's point, I think it's one of those questions
of yes, he knows the plays, but if he's not
making plays, how beneficial is it. I mean, at this point,
(09:59):
I'm I mean, I ain't even gonna hold you. I
know we're gonna talk about the safety room, but you
might be better suited having a one of those safeties out
there doing some things in the ring game. I mean,
I almost would rather see Marquis Bell in some of
these instances in the middle of the data. Even though
he's like in the butt, he still can make plays.
Not saying it's good that anyone gets hurt. That's not
(10:20):
what I'm saying, but I'm saying, oh, if their hand
is forced, and I feel like Ebra Fluce wanted to
stick with this guy, so since their hand is forced,
with injuries and if he I think this is what
this is what you get, This is what you see.
So like what Shatnheimer said, you know, just because someone
gets injured, that doesn't mean that their job is gone.
Speaker 5 (10:35):
But it also doesn't mean that their job stays. So
I think it's going to make an industries and injuries
force hands. And we haven't even we got through the
people who didn't practice, right that that list is long.
Speaker 4 (10:45):
So next meing up, my lord, I know what's the
limited list?
Speaker 3 (10:51):
Looking like ayishah okay so so so.
Speaker 4 (10:54):
Christy told us.
Speaker 7 (10:55):
She tells us that she it's something wrong with her.
Speaker 6 (10:58):
Christy tells us that if if guys are limited on Wednesday,
that that's typically a positive sign.
Speaker 4 (11:04):
It's a good start. So limited.
Speaker 6 (11:07):
Dron Bland he dealt with the shoulder issue during the
game last week. He made a tackle and it seemed
like that was bothering him a little bit.
Speaker 4 (11:14):
He was limited. Jdaveon Clowney hip limited. No like that U.
Speaker 6 (11:19):
Johnny Cornelius is dealing with a knee the tackle. Roocky tackle,
he was limited. Trayvon Diggs knee limited. Tyler Guidon tackle
He's dealing with the concussion coming out of hopefully out
of hopefully's gonna be out of concussion protocol.
Speaker 4 (11:35):
He was limited.
Speaker 7 (11:36):
Sounds like he's trending in the right directions of play.
Speaker 6 (11:39):
James Houston defensive end knee limited, Marshawn Kneeland ankle limited.
Speaker 7 (11:45):
Miles Sanders running back.
Speaker 6 (11:48):
Knee slash, ankle limited, and Tyler Smith knee limited. Oh
Waye Thomas ankle limited. So there's a lot of limits
in this place.
Speaker 3 (11:58):
Yeah, I think for me it's I don't even know.
For me, it's everybody, of course, But this is the
second week now Marshaw Kneeland's been on this injury report.
Obviously missing time last week gave Donovan Azeraki some more
snaps and hello, the rookie took advantage.
Speaker 5 (12:15):
Talk about him.
Speaker 3 (12:16):
I mean, obviously he had kind of shown some promise
throughout training camp, really prayed, played well throughout the first
throughout first three weeks, goodness of the season. Talk about
him and just kind of how detrimental is that or
are you still confident or are you confident in what
Ezeraki can bring here in the other defensive end room.
Speaker 6 (12:34):
I mean, I'm disappointed for Marshawn Kneelan because I felt like,
even coming out of college, you looked at the run
stopping ability, looked at the physicality. He's a guy that
I feel like you can move inside sometimes if you
need to, and he just has not been able to
stay healthy enough to be to put to string together
multiple multiple games. And at that defensive end position, you
know you're reading also too, you're on an island, you're reading.
(12:58):
You have to be able to dissect in the run
game in those things, and so he needs that experience.
I also think that he is one of your best
run defending ends and you not having him out there.
We go back to the conversation about Shoddy at the
beginning of the week, talking about how James Houston is
a fantastic as a pass rusher, however he is a
little bit undersized in the run. So now you're in
(13:19):
a position to where maybe you have to put guys
out there that you're not as comfortable with in rundowns
you having them out there because guys like Kneelan, who
you feel more comfortable with aren't out there. So this
is a bummer for him and the expectations that I
even had for him coming out of college. I want
him to really build upon He never gets to build
upon his good games. He just keeps every single time
(13:40):
he's like, Okay, he's getting, you know, the hang of things,
and then he has an injury. So hopefully this injury
bug doesn't stick with him, because I do think he
is an end that they look forward to.
Speaker 4 (13:50):
Have here in the future.
Speaker 6 (13:51):
It's just the second year in his rooky contract, so
I'm a little bummed for him, and I'm a little
bummed that he's still dealing with injuries.
Speaker 4 (13:58):
Well, hopefully he'll be able to get on the field
this week.
Speaker 5 (14:00):
What you got, Brie, Yeah, I mean a lot of
the people you mentioned as limited these are like names
that like the drawn Blands, Trayvon Diggs, even Tyler Guyon.
I know he's in concussion protocoll this week, but he's
one that typically sticks on the the Wednesday limited ones.
And like you said, this is Nieland's second year, this
is guy in second year, so it's it's something to
definitely keep an eye on. Clowney, I'm kind of laughing
(14:21):
with the hip that sounds like that sounds like an
age thing, But that's that's that's our that's our guy probably,
but but I'm just like I mean, they're banged up
and it's only going this week into week six. But
for Marshawn Neeland, I remember sitting with him down in
his rookie season and that was his main thing. That
was when Zimmer was here. He said he wanted to
(14:42):
prove that he could be a pass rusher, Like you know,
that's been something he's working on and like you said,
when he got that big injury last year, he was rolling,
so that was hard to see, but he was in place,
got to start over Sam Williams. So I think that's
kind of a testament there to what the coaches are
from him, want from him. So you're hoping that he's
able to take that next step. But Domanzaraku was someone
(15:05):
who I was gonna make my way to today because
he's there were so many defensive guys like we were
just running back and forth that were talking yesterday, and
he was one of the guys that we didn't get
to talk to or hear from yesterday. But he's he's
getting a lot of praise from the coaches. I know
he'll be asked about from you police, so interested to
see how what he sees, you know, from the DC side,
because Shotenheimer had nothing of good things to say, but
(15:27):
I mean, we know that's a room that that needs
the most work when you're looking at that D line,
So you're just you're hoping they can stay healthy and
Niland definitely is a big part of that group.
Speaker 3 (15:35):
That sucks for nieland too because you know, hearing from
him in training camp. He was telling me how he
really took the time this off season to kind of
like take care of his body. He went to Arizona
to get like stem cells and things like that and
work one on one with the trainer. I forget the name,
so I don't want to blurt out somebody's name wrong,
but yeah, he worked with the trainer one on one
(15:56):
just to kind of.
Speaker 2 (15:57):
Get fit, get physically right.
Speaker 3 (16:00):
So yeah, it is still unfortunate that he is dealing
with some injuries and hopefully it's not too serious where
he will be potentially missing some more time. But definitely
don't want to miss too much time because when you
do have a guy like Donovan Azaraku who is uh
taking advantage of his opportunities and you know, like Shady
(16:20):
I mentioned, granted, you don't necessarily give away a starting
positions role, a starter's role. But it's all about competing here.
So we'll see Miles Sanders and knee ankle. He's battled
injuries throughout his career as well, something that he was.
Speaker 5 (16:38):
Kind of even battling some Oxnach for us that too.
Speaker 3 (16:41):
Yeah, thoughts on the whole the running back situation as
a whole, just because one, you have a guy like
Javonte Williams who is your workforce, right, but.
Speaker 2 (16:50):
You still need to find that balance. I know.
Speaker 5 (16:53):
I think it was Shoddy who.
Speaker 3 (16:54):
Talked about it last week or earlier this week about
kind of making sure that they're not wearing him down
too much or too early in the season, but just talk.
Speaker 2 (17:02):
About the guy that you need to step up.
Speaker 3 (17:05):
Obviously it's a Jaden Blue, but I mean you still
have a film MafA who they have on this roster
that maybe you.
Speaker 2 (17:11):
Can try to figure some things out and bring him up.
Speaker 4 (17:14):
What y'all think, You better do some? Okay, I mean
you better do mother.
Speaker 5 (17:22):
Some with that room. That's a guy, that's all, but you.
Speaker 4 (17:27):
Do you better do something. I mean this running back
room and it sounds like.
Speaker 7 (17:32):
When you're listening to coach Shottenheimery.
Speaker 6 (17:35):
He understands the efficiency that you're getting out of the
run game with Javonte Williams, and then he also understands
that you got to like, he's in a position where
he almost just has to play him because I mean,
you're trying to play keep away also to have some
sustained drives and stuff like that and score because.
Speaker 4 (17:53):
You know what your defense is. This head coach knows that.
Speaker 6 (17:56):
So it's like he's in a tough spot to where
I'm sure he wants to give him some breathers, but
you almost can't risk it at this point because no
one else has been available or actually having you know,
positive impact on that side of the ball. When it
comes to the running back room, Jaydon Blue is not
on the injury report.
Speaker 4 (18:16):
That's good, I guess hopefully.
Speaker 6 (18:17):
I shoot, I mean, you got to do something to
try to balance out his touches. I'm not saying to
just be taking touches from him, but my gosh, I
don't know.
Speaker 4 (18:30):
It feels weird.
Speaker 6 (18:30):
I mean, bell cows don't exist. I mean, and Shotty
called him the bellcow. He said he's the bellcow right now,
and that doesn't exist like that in this league anymore
as much for a reason. I ain't trying to see
the reason. Please, I'm not trying to see it.
Speaker 5 (18:44):
Well, he was asked, like Nicole said, about how he's
being used, because I think I mean, I brought it
up a couple days ago, and I was like, I
was surprised how much he was still and being fed
when the game was pretty much where it needed to be.
I was in the fourth, he was like, still getting
I was like, what's while we still like let's bubble
wrap them, Let's bow wrap him a bit. But Shoenheimer
set up to this point he's been comfortable on on
(19:05):
how and what they used. I was like, okay, and
then he did I know Jayden Blue stats didn't. He
talked about that, how they don't you know, they're not
reading like he had this great game. But he said
like he had some his executed his excitements what he
was asked to do. We saw him in the special
teams got a little good return, a nice return position there.
(19:26):
So it feels like whatever they were looking for from
him they got and I saw them. Actually they were
one of the when Schottenheimer came in, I saw him
and Jayden Blue come into locker room at the same time,
and you could see him give him like a little nudge,
like a proud dad whatever. So despite what the stats say,
my point is that Jayden blue to Schottenheimer's expectations, met him.
(19:49):
So I wouldn't be surprised if he's out there again,
especially if Miles Sanders is still nicked up. But I
do think even though Miles Sanders wasn't getting you know,
the bulk of the carries, I think he did what
you wanted your second running back to do, so I.
Speaker 4 (20:05):
He was efficient when he did get the ball.
Speaker 5 (20:07):
I don't think they're in a rush for the film
offa look, even if others are. But I mean, it's
nice to know that Pilka film offas in the pocket
and necessary hopefully healing up. I know he was dealing
with obviously an injury getting on IR early in the season.
Speaker 2 (20:20):
So all right, darn Bland on this limited list shoulder.
Speaker 5 (20:24):
But like Christy said Wednesday, he fine, okay that list
every week.
Speaker 2 (20:31):
Yeah, it's kind of sick.
Speaker 5 (20:32):
Yeah, they just tragging him along.
Speaker 4 (20:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (20:35):
I hope that he can can sustain and hopefully just
continue to build. Like he's similar to kneeling almost in
that sense, is that yeah, yeah, he's similar to kneeling almost.
Is that he hasn't had consecutive games where he's played
since I mean even at the end of last year
he was coming off of surgery, you know, trying to
(20:58):
integrate into the defense, and so we're just trying to
get my gosh, what is it gonna take to get
like these units out there consistently and for some of
these guys to you know, build upon their performances the
week before and stuff.

Welcome back to Girls A Boys Talk presented my visit
line and the SWBC Studio. Nicole Hudginson, Breonna Aldridge, Aisha Morrison.
Speaker 2 (24:16):
Your favorites of all time.
Speaker 5 (24:19):
Just have to throw that out.
Speaker 2 (24:20):
There, all right, Carolina Hell held Miami too.
Speaker 3 (24:23):
It's second lowest rushing total in franchise history last week.
Speaker 4 (24:29):
Ladies gross, absolutely gross.
Speaker 3 (24:34):
Fourteen yards on design runs is what they held Miami
to their run. Stuff's six of the thirteen run stuffs
excuse me? Happened before or at.
Speaker 2 (24:43):
The line of scrimmage?
Speaker 4 (24:45):
Bo throw up?
Speaker 2 (24:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (24:47):
So what makes this defense so tough against the run
despite their ranking being in the middle of the pack statistically.
Speaker 6 (24:54):
Well, I think is the fact that they went on
first and second down and they were able to do
that last week, and I got to I listened to
their head coach talk about how that really helped them
be able to get off the field and to be
efficient and so I think it's important. The last couple
of weeks, when you look at the Dallas Cowboys, they
haven't been as efficient on first and second down you
(25:16):
they've been. They were in a lot of third and
long situations last week. I didn't like it at all,
and so Dallas has to do better at I.
Speaker 4 (25:24):
Know Shaddy has thrown more on first down.
Speaker 6 (25:27):
We've seen some we've seen him mix it up a
little bit more, but last week it was a lot
of run heavy on first down or even with the passes.
Speaker 4 (25:34):
It wasn't efficient.
Speaker 6 (25:35):
So they have to be efficient on first and second
down and not give this Panthers defensive unit the opportunity
to rush the passer. I mean, they're not that efficient,
they're not that efficient at it, but they can get
some interior push and I think that made the difference
for them last week.
Speaker 5 (25:51):
Yeah, they were definitely dogwalking the offensive line. I don't
know Miami situation of injuries or they just kind of
Miami is a hot mess overall. Like that's just what
it is. But Schottenheimer mentioned it yesterday. He brought up
the name Derek Brown. That's the name that we're gonna
be talking about here shortly. He was ragged alling them
(26:14):
throughout throughout the game, and just like if you watch
the highlights, they were just dominating at the line of
scrimmage and giving them as absolutely nothing. And that's what
I saw mostly coming from that game. But yeah, like
looking at this stat's crazy, yeah, crazy, it's it's kind.
Speaker 3 (26:32):
No, But I mean it's unfortunate because now we're granted
the other four backups, I'll say so second team, true
second team aside from Terrence to offensive lineman. They stepped
in and like you know, shoddy everybody's talked about, you
know the fact that typically when that happens, you don't
(26:53):
have success as an offense. Like keeping in a book,
and this offense, the Cowboys offense was able to find
some success against the Jets last week. But this Panther's
defensive front, Bobby Brown and Shawn Robinson, Derrick Brown, I mean,
they've got a couple of linebackers and specifically also some
corners that can come in and tackle as well. Talk
about that defensive front though, because this is now another
(27:15):
task for your offensive line. Who granted you saw some
dogs up front with Quinn Williams and Franklin Phillips. I'm
sorry study Phillips last week, but now you get another
test and like this, what's the confidence level in those guys?
Speaker 2 (27:31):
You feel like they'll be able to manage?
Speaker 5 (27:34):
I like the confidence is high because I mean, everybody
across the league is talking about how good then need
to stop talking about the old linemans because hush. I
mean they're talking about what you've been hitting on all
off seasons. The luxury we have at the old line,
and not just that, the ability for you know, Clayton
Adams to come in here and scheme with what he's
(27:55):
got and knowing what what these guys are specializing in
and what these guys don't who what they can stop
and making it not being exposed. And then obviously Dak
Prescott again, he's the reason why everything looks as great
as it does. I don't know if another quarterback comes
in here and it looks the same. This is a
return home game for mister brock Hoffman, who's been playing
(28:17):
pretty adequately holding it down. So I'm expecting the hometown
kid to show out in front of the Panthers crowd there.
But I think it's going to be again Derek Brown
show and who's going to shut him? Down. The big
talk last week with the interior was Quinn Williams, and
that was an issue for this offensive line. So I
(28:38):
don't if anything that gives me the confidence. I mean,
Quinn Williams was a guy we talked about you have
to prepare for on every down, which is which Schottenheimer
called not uncharacteristic of what you typically have to do.
I think Derek Brown is another one, and so I'm
confident because of what I saw last week.
Speaker 6 (28:56):
Yeah, Ashan Robinson is also one of their edges. I
think that he's a to you know, disengage and make
some tackles in the run as well. So I mean
I'm not super terrified of their linebackers.
Speaker 4 (29:09):
And let me tell you, yeah, they'll help. They'll help
in the run, but maybe in the past.
Speaker 6 (29:13):
So that brings me to my second point is that
we know the Dallas's identity. A lot of what they
want to do is run the ball. They want to
set up play action. They want to be able to
you know, Shoddy had a dope breakdown yesterday about marrying
to the past and why that's important and to not
be predictable in doing so. This is a defense that
I think you obviously run the ball to keep them true,
(29:37):
but maybe you can pass that thing I expect to
see with their linebackers and coverage.
Speaker 4 (29:42):
I think you also to you know, tight ends.
Speaker 6 (29:44):
They have struggled against tight ends, especially in the red zone.
Speaker 4 (29:48):
So maybe we see, you know, Dallas.
Speaker 6 (29:50):
Be able to take advantage there and attack in the
middle of the field with the tight ends. So in
regard to you you know, and what there's going on
with their defensive line is that they're not rushing the
past or entirely well. They were able to get to
Miami three times last week.
Speaker 4 (30:04):
That's almost more than what they have the whole season.
Speaker 6 (30:08):
And I think a lot of that had to do with,
like it's hard to decipher, like what's this team the
opponent and what is what this unit is? But this
unit has been better against the run this year.
Speaker 5 (30:19):
Those three sacks against Miami, two of those came from
interior guys, and I think that's where.
Speaker 4 (30:23):
I get comments very important.
Speaker 5 (30:24):
Yeah, we're looking at our side as well, and then
the linebacker room. They actually made a little switch last
week with their green dot, which is interesting. Talk about it.
Mister Roseman's kind of been struggling in coverage and like
you said, to the tight ends, okay, they've been very
much exposed. So he's the five year vet. So they
did kind of what we did with Sanborn. The veteran
(30:45):
gets the green dot automatically. And they actually made that
switch with Trevin Wallace the second the second year linebacker there,
he took over. I was listening to coach's post game
conference and he was talking about how he felt like
that allowed out rose Wind to go over there and
play a little bit more free going side to side.
So it looks like something they're going to continue, but
(31:07):
it sounds like they know they're struggling there, so they're
making changes on the fly as well. We know what
our issue is on defense, so I'm interested to see
what mister Trevin Wallace seems. They seem like they have
a lot of confidence in him.
Speaker 3 (31:20):
I usual made a good point about Shoddy talking about
marrying the run in the past and how he kind
of pretty much said that, like, we don't want to
have no scouting giveaways, no tels, and there's oh my goodness,
my handwriting is so bad.
Speaker 2 (31:35):
But basically we're in the gun.
Speaker 3 (31:37):
We don't want to let them know that we're throwing
it or running it or vice versa, but just not
really being able to disguise their looks a lot better.
And obviously this identity of this team is wanting to
run the football through Javonte Williams opened.
Speaker 4 (31:52):
Up the pass.
Speaker 2 (31:54):
What should be the offensive emphasis early though?
Speaker 3 (31:57):
Should it be test the run defense or child and
those challenge their cornerbacks.
Speaker 2 (32:02):
What do y'all think?
Speaker 6 (32:06):
Tater tized, I think they're gonna do? I think they're
gonna run the ball, y'all?
Speaker 4 (32:09):
Okay, I mean I don't. I don't know if that's
I think they're gonna run the ball.
Speaker 6 (32:18):
I mean, I mean because because you could pass the ball,
of course, like there are you know, places to take
advantage and maybe maybe you run the ball with the
way that's how kind of people are running the ball
with you, with the attack and the flats and you know,
getting the running backs involved in the receiving game like
a Javante and things like that, attacking their linebackers that
way where it's not running the ball, but it is
(32:39):
technically running the ball in a sense, maybe even set
up the screen game because that's something your defensive struggling
with that they have struggled with that as well. I
just feel like Dave Kanell is their their head coach.
He mentioned he actually did mention that they're trying to
pick up on tails, that they're trying to pick up
on some of the things that they see Dallas do
because they understand that Dallas can have.
Speaker 4 (33:00):
This is the value of having a balanced.
Speaker 6 (33:01):
Attack is that coaches are struggling and we don't even
know what they gonna come out and do.
Speaker 4 (33:05):
I don't know what the.
Speaker 6 (33:06):
Best thing to do against this defensive line is. But
I wouldn't just be running up against a brick wall.
I wouldn't be doing that. I think that you could definitely.
You know, obviously Dallas has taken an uptake and misdirection
and stuff like that.
Speaker 4 (33:19):
Obviously mix that.
Speaker 6 (33:20):
In get some of these guys going going east to west.
So for me, yeah, just just be efficient on first
and second down because they are They don't rush the passer,
well we already know that, but you can take advantage
of They will take advantage of opportunities to rush the pastor.
Speaker 4 (33:37):
If you give it to them.
Speaker 6 (33:39):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (33:39):
I like the sentiment of the locker room yesterday. What
they's it's a rico. It was a Rico day and
talking back that He's like, you know, we have a
lot of respect for Rico. We talked about bringing them back,
but ultimately we went with Tovonte Williams. So it is
Javonte Williams better.
Speaker 4 (33:58):
Huh.
Speaker 5 (33:58):
I don't know. We'll see an left me with a
little clipanger. So that was the question all through every
single person in the locker room is the comments made
by the Rica Daddle talking about they need to buckle
up and things like that. Everybody was pretty chill on
the responsibitides Kenny Clark, which is hilarious.
Speaker 4 (34:16):
Yeah, I was like, I was surprised.
Speaker 5 (34:18):
That you must not see us. Kenny's hilarious, But I
feel like I'm more excited to see the running backs.
Who's gonna show out more because I feel like he's
just been talking a little bit of smack both these weeks.
But I think establishing the run is just the key
for this game, like I thought it was last week,
because when you're looking at the DB's, I think there
(34:39):
is Tysha's point a lot a couple of places where
you couldn't expose outside of j C. Horn Pickings talked
about him yesterday and what that matchup looks like and
what type of corner he is and you know, but
Mike Jackson is a guy who I noted, Uh, he
ain't doing so good. He's getting pretty exposed, and he
(35:01):
got very much exposed. I think he gave up a
forty two yard chunk play to Wattle last week that
ended up in a touchdown. His overall grade is forty
two point five. In his coverage like he's he's struggling,
and I feel like that's kind of what we saw
last week. There was like one strong corner that everybody
else was just kind of like, you know, so you
(35:21):
know who's going to be following, and you know where
the weak spots are going to be. But I think
the best part about this offense, and what Pickens was
asked about, is like, how how much does Davonte Williams
do when he does help you guys? He's like, it's everything.
So I think keeping them on their toes again, mixing
up some of these receivers in the past game as well.
(35:42):
I think everything is going the way the Cowboys want,
so really shot. He could come out slinging the ball,
but I do feel like he's going to start establishing
the run. It just makes the most It's what he's
kind of been doing for recipes success.
Speaker 2 (35:56):
Here.
Speaker 4 (35:56):
I want to say that Mike Jackson was Yeah, he was.
Speaker 6 (35:59):
Michael Jackson was drafted by the Cowboys in the fifth
round in twenty nineteen. It's a little bit of a
revenge game for him too, because they was like, he
ain't getting no revenge on nobody else so far.
Speaker 4 (36:07):
This is you're going to jail.
Speaker 5 (36:09):
The door she's going to I just want to say
she's going to jail.
Speaker 6 (36:14):
But in regard to another point about this, uh, this
Panther's defense is that they've allowed twenty four points in
five and how many games they played one to five
and four out of the five games that they have played.
Also to uh, they will give up a lot of
passing yards. I mean they gave up two hundred and
fifty two a Miami offense that has been struggling.
Speaker 4 (36:36):
The second part of it that makes me happy.
Speaker 6 (36:38):
Inside, what is the girl please, is that the Panthers
run zone at the second highest clipping the NFL.
Speaker 4 (36:45):
You know what they second too? Guess who they're second to?
Speaker 3 (36:49):
Who?
Speaker 5 (36:50):
It's killing me first?
Speaker 4 (36:52):
It hurts.
Speaker 6 (36:54):
So their second and guess who has the second highest passer,
Rayy pres.
Speaker 5 (37:01):
You're good.
Speaker 6 (37:02):
You're killing it right now, let's go eighty percent completion rate,
six touchdowns. I mean, Dak Prescott has been nails against
zone coverages, and if you're not able to get pressure
on him consistently, he's gonna make you pay. So to
your point, Nicole, you know how you were asking like,
what do you think Dallas is gonna do? I think
they're gonna run the game, run the ball, to keep
honest and to play keep away. But if the quarterback,
(37:24):
if they think that they just gonna drive back and
play vision defense, the quarterback's gonna make them pay. And
that makes me happy in time, So I expect for
Dallas to maybe be aggressive and attack and attack, attacking
this Panther secondary. However, I will say the Panthers have
been a better team at home, undefeated at home. They
are obviously trying to build some momentum.
Speaker 4 (37:46):
We might see them change it up a little bit.
Speaker 6 (37:48):
I'm not sure, but you stick they playing against company,
you know, I'd be like, let's try this. So that's
something that I think is important when we're talking about
if Dallas gonna run the ball more, are they gonna
pass the ball more bebbe.
Speaker 4 (38:01):
There should be grass for the quarterback. It should be
opportunity for the quarterback and the receivers.
Speaker 3 (38:07):
All right, well, bren to take our second break here

next and we'll be right back.

look at the tape where it's the biggest schimatic mismatch.
Speaker 4 (41:03):
You see, is the receivers for their dbs?
Speaker 2 (41:06):
Is it our interior offensive line against the Panthers front?
Is it DAK versus their coverage diskuys.
Speaker 5 (41:10):
I don't know what m is it.
Speaker 6 (41:14):
Honestly, I would say is that I would say that
it's the quarterback against their secondary. I mean, I know
the offensive line like we would say sure, you know,
but again, this is not a Panther's defensive line that
has rushed the passer at a high clip or been
successful really doing that. And the zone covers they play
on the back end ain't helping them either.
Speaker 4 (41:36):
It's so funny looking at.
Speaker 6 (41:37):
The man in the mirror, please because that's what I
was thinking when I was watching them last night, was like, Oh,
their secondary is struggling because they're not getting pressure with four,
but they're not really willing to change up much on
that side either. I think it would be your quarterbacks
good against zone and they play a lot of zone.
Speaker 4 (41:57):
Your offensive line I can hold up. They don't pressure
that much.
Speaker 6 (42:01):
Your offense passing offense against their defense is probably the
biggest mismatch to me, what you.
Speaker 5 (42:06):
Got three Panthers are thirtieth in the league in pressure
for a reason. Like I used to just said, there's
a couple of week spots that I think Dak prop,
Dak prop. What am I doing here?
Speaker 2 (42:15):
We know what you.
Speaker 5 (42:17):
I had faith it was coming off, but I was,
I was she stole mine when I was thinking about Black,
But Dak just reading the field unbelievably, like unbelievably, But
I guess I'll go with my second one.
Speaker 4 (42:33):
Aysha.
Speaker 5 (42:33):
You mentioned it. They're struggling with the tight ends in general,
and guess what, we had a tight end who's kind
of a on a comeback. Here he's found find the
end zone again. I know he didn't even just showing
off now, he didn't even know to do it hisself
on this screen.
Speaker 4 (42:49):
He was like, first of all, what is love with
all these George Pickens gets on this team and they.
Speaker 5 (42:54):
Got all the dances, all the that he had, like
forty handshakes. That was a question.
Speaker 4 (42:59):
He's like yeah.
Speaker 5 (43:00):
He's like someone said, do you remember all of them?
And then he's like, what's the one you do with
Dak And he went like this and they're like somebody said,
what does this mean. He's like, it's my number three
and I was like, I already wrapping this up.
Speaker 6 (43:12):
Bro.
Speaker 5 (43:12):
We were laughing. So, like I said, Pickens is having
fun and someone also asked, yesterday, it's just like this
is just being here makes me. He's like, I'm always
having fun in the field. I was having fun where
I was at, but the narrative was I wasn't having
fun and I was just like, it's still on business
here as well. But it's fun to watch y'all, Like, Yeah,
(43:35):
their safeties will come up and help tackle in the
run game too.
Speaker 4 (43:38):
I think, I don't know which one of you ladies
mentioned that, but their dbs will come up and help
tackle in the run game too.
Speaker 6 (43:43):
So to your point, like the tight ends, and brother
span Ford is a guy that I think, in regard
to what Breees point is, if you want to get
another tight end involved, I think this would be a
good time to kind of acclimate another tight end into
the receiving game.
Speaker 7 (43:57):
We haven't seen much from schoolmakers every week.
Speaker 5 (44:00):
Then we haven't seen.
Speaker 4 (44:01):
Much because they're blocking.
Speaker 5 (44:03):
It's because it's because.
Speaker 4 (44:04):
They're chipping and blocking and all that stuff.
Speaker 6 (44:06):
But maybe since since the Panthers are not a team
that gets a crap ton of pass rush, maybe this
is a game where you don't have to come in
and chip and have your running backs and stuff have
to help so much with these tackles, maybe you can
get you know, some down the field shots to your
tight ends in this game. You need to now, I mean,
(44:30):
you take what you can. You take what you can
get because they're still trying to they're still finding out.
Speaker 4 (44:34):
Ways to attack the middle of the defense with the slants,
with the crossers, with the overs, like they're still.
Speaker 6 (44:40):
Figuring out ways, but man, that see that seam is
there for the taking, and I really hope that they
figure out how to get it.
Speaker 7 (44:47):
