Speaker 6 (01:08):
No, I want to say, God.

Speaker 5 (01:11):
I knew he was gonna come clutch.

Speaker 8 (01:12):
Yeah, I know.

Speaker 6 (01:14):
Let's start with this.

Speaker 5 (01:14):
We're gonna do things a little different today.

Speaker 4 (01:16):
Because I want to shout out Tommy Yarsh, our very
own writer, for the team. He wrote an interesting article
just getting the biggest storylines out there for Mini Camp.
Of course, Mini camp starts today. How about that drum roll?
I know, but the article was just five questions to
monitor ahead of Cowboys mandatory Mini Camp.

Speaker 5 (01:37):
So I'm gonna start with this one.

Speaker 4 (01:39):
Of course, Michael Parsons, Mike Brian Schottenheimer had mentioned that
he has been in the building this off season. Of
course he didn't participate in voluntary OTAs. Voluntary voluntary OTAs
important note. But I want to know how involved will

(01:59):
or should Michael Parsons be in Mini camp as of
starting today, ladies.

Speaker 5 (02:05):
Anybody should have, could have, should have, could have?

Speaker 9 (02:07):
Okay, I feel like Michael Parsons, I'm starting You guys
just hit it wrong. I just started talking, I think
with Michael Parsons. Obviously, this is a person that you
want involved. You know, this is the bread and butter
of it, right Getting back to the basis, you want
to see him dress, you want to see him participating,
taking charge.

Speaker 5 (02:24):
We know he's going to be the leader in this room.

Speaker 9 (02:26):
But also there's that lingering thing that's been here off
all off season. Really talked about last time when I
got here in Ox Star last season when it was
going to happen with the contracts situation, I wouldn't.

Speaker 5 (02:38):
Be surprised if he's a what do they call it,
a hold in.

Speaker 9 (02:43):
That's where I think it's going to end up, which
I don't think is a bad thing. I think it's
worse when the players not here at all. But this
is a business side to it. It's been clear even
when MacArthur was here. You know, he always says that's
there's a business side to this. So I think Micah
has to protect himself. Injuries is a part of this game.
This is a big contract year. But I think him

(03:04):
being in the building as he has been, like Nicole said,
he hasn't been participating in the actuality, but he has
been in the facility in and out. We know he's
been having dinners and lunches and being well fed with
coach Schottenheimer.

Speaker 5 (03:20):
So the it's there.

Speaker 9 (03:22):
He's been vocal on his personal Twitter about you know,
this is up to the owners of when and how
he gets on the field. So that was hinting to
me there's going to be some type of holding holding
something here in this in in this but no, I
think it's a big deal that he's in the in
the building. He will if we see him at practice.

(03:42):
Obviously we won't know till later on today, so that'll be
something for us to talk about.

Speaker 5 (03:45):
Next week or actually about it on social media until
we say it. But that's that's why I see it.
How do you guys? Do you guys see it playing
out differently?

Speaker 10 (03:54):
Well?

Speaker 4 (03:55):
First, I want to say, for holding, what BRIS talking
about is when a player is present but just participating
in practice.

Speaker 5 (04:02):
But are I go ahead?

Speaker 6 (04:02):
Just sorry, no, you're good.

Speaker 7 (04:04):
I How involved I want him to be is the
same level of involvement he always is. He's locked in,
He's Micah Parsons. He's very well known for his work
ethic when he is in the building, no matter what
coaching staff was on he was under, or what time
of the year it is. So I think for me,
my biggest thing that I want to see out of

(04:25):
Micah's starting today, yay, is I want to see the
kind of leader he's going to become, because I think
it's just gotten very lost in the mix that a
leader is somebody who has to be vocal and very
Dak Prescott esque, you know, and that's okay, but I
don't want it to get twisted that if Mike is
not like yelling and hyping up and jumping around, that

(04:46):
he's not being a leader.

Speaker 6 (04:49):
I think that's.

Speaker 7 (04:50):
My biggest thing is I want to see his involvement
in talking to Matt Eberflus, talking to teammates, kind of
giving critiques back, being the older guy in the room.

Speaker 6 (05:01):
But I don't.

Speaker 7 (05:02):
Necessarily think it's going to get I hope it doesn't
necessarily get twisted if he's not hyping everybody up and
being the hype guy, because that doesn't necessarily not make
him a leader. So really hoping that Micah gets his
chance to shut that narrative down. I'm kind of tired
of talking about it and hearing about it. But most
of all, I just hope his involvement is as it's been,

(05:24):
being locked in communicating that's a really big thing, and
being a good teammate to especially the younger guys on
both sides, all three sides, all three phases of the ball.

Speaker 5 (05:35):
That's the question again.

Speaker 4 (05:36):
How involved will I should say it again, I'm seeing
you how involved will or should Michael Parsons be?

Speaker 6 (05:44):
Starting today?

Speaker 5 (05:45):
Bye?

Speaker 9 (05:46):
So my thing is I want to see him in
job because I wanted her to.

Speaker 5 (05:49):
Say it again. She wants you to choose hard going last.

Speaker 11 (05:54):
Wait, wait a minute, but I want to see him
as involved as possible because I'm nosy.

Speaker 5 (05:59):
I'm not gonna lie.

Speaker 11 (06:00):
It's someone that wants to know what his role is
gonna be on this defense and how this Dallas defense
that ranked last and pretty much every important metric there
is that exist on the defensive side last year, you're
really looking for them to take an uptick. And with
Brian Eberfluch coming in as the new DC, this this
defense is gonna see some changes from Zimmer We've talked

(06:22):
about on this show. This is a defense that's gonna
be dependent on rushing for but you also have some
things going on at the linebacker position. Obviously, the Cowboys
brought in Jack Sanborn, Mayor slia Foul is expected to
take a step up, but obviously and then also to
Murray as well. So I'm wondering how Micah is gonna

(06:43):
be used, and I think that we can might maybe
find out a little bit of information.

Speaker 5 (06:47):
Based off of some of the things that they have
him doing.

Speaker 11 (06:49):
Are they gonna be more comfortable with him just rushing
the pastor will he be doing some linebacker things. Will
he be coming from depth planing to his strength. So
that's why I.

Speaker 5 (06:58):
Want to see what's going on. Again, it's a little
selfish because you know, nothing's wrong with it. Chitty chitty, hello,
change change.

Speaker 11 (07:06):
But but for those of us who covered the team,
I am curious to see what Michael's role moving forward
is going to look like, whether that's from a linebacker
spot or the defensive end spot.

Speaker 4 (07:17):
Well, I usually you talked about how this defense pretty
much took a hit, you know, last year, and that
kind of happened with this offense with Ceedee Lamb his contract,
Uh taking so long to finally get done. But uh,
and you saw it kind of hit this passing offense,
you know, with the chemistry there kind of lacked. You

(07:38):
thought guys were gonna step up. They unfortunately didn't and
that time. So how detrimental is that realistically when you
don't have a guy like Michael Parsons involved early?

Speaker 11 (07:47):
How detrimental hell is it for this defense, for this
defense for him to oh, well, it's he's kind of
like the if you didn't have CD on the other side.
He's that important because so many things are going to
be predicated off of where he's positioned at. Is a
guy gonna be asked to just sit here and you know,
hold a double team so Michael can loop around? Is
he gonna be Are there gonna be certain things set

(08:08):
up on the edge for him to be able to
get free free your osa stuff like that. How does
the defensive coordinator take advantage of his Him being kind
of a decoy at times is important and that's what
this offense is gonna see.

Speaker 5 (08:22):
So there's not really anyone that can mimic that.

Speaker 8 (08:24):
I know.

Speaker 11 (08:24):
We've seen Isaaku doing some Donovan Isaraku the edge that
Dallas brought.

Speaker 5 (08:28):
In from Boston College.

Speaker 11 (08:29):
He is, he's a gentleman that they've been lining up
on the edge and doing some different things.

Speaker 5 (08:33):
So he kind of got a little idea.

Speaker 11 (08:35):
But there's nothing that can show you what Michael Parsons
is gonna do in Bebe. You also need to see
him going up against these tackles. That's important as well.

Speaker 5 (08:46):
So I didn't hear you, well, we don't want him
to ruin practice.

Speaker 12 (08:51):
Because he gotta Okay, he got that bad like sorry Michaeh,
but I think it is important because, like you said,
this offense is gonna go up against.

Speaker 11 (09:02):
A lot of speedy edge rushers, and he gives them
a really good depiction of how you know, they may
have to go forward during the season.

Speaker 5 (09:09):
So that's my thoughts on it. What you got, bread Budges.

Speaker 9 (09:12):
I think that you pointed it out right there because
last show you were talking about how are they going
to use Micah at the linebacker position? Are they gonna
how they're gonna utilize them? Well, if he's not out there,
like as you just said, how are you gonna figure
it out? When I look at the the room right now,
when I'm looking at Fowler Williams as a Roku Turner Kneeland,
what does that group look like when Micah's not out there?

Speaker 11 (09:32):
Like seeing it stop seen it exactly, and the whole
the whole defense as a whole elevated as soon as
Micah came back.

Speaker 9 (09:42):
And that was like not even one hundred percent Michael
that was coming back from that injury.

Speaker 5 (09:46):
That's the crazy part is, so I personally don't want to.

Speaker 9 (09:48):
See what it's like if he's not out there and
we're talking Oxcard because even going like like you said,
CD is the key piece on the offense.

Speaker 5 (09:55):
He said it multiple times. Dak has said it multiple times.

Speaker 9 (09:58):
We were in October and they were talking about how
you know, it's not they what they lost at that point,
how they're playing ketchup in October at that point, and
I was like, it's Halloween.

Speaker 5 (10:07):
I don't to talk about, like this.

Speaker 9 (10:08):
Is crazy, but that that you know as a player,
as a player, like they're telling they're telling you straight up,
like it matters, not you laughing at me.

Speaker 5 (10:16):
You say, is halloween. I want to move on, So
it's I want my candy is crazy? Oh my god,
that's the caption say.

Speaker 7 (10:26):
I think Micah ultimately is your glue player, like you
need him for everything to come together. He is your glue,
He's your defensive glue. And there's just players like that demo.
I also feel like it is a glue player himself.
I mean, there's just guys you cannot to your point,
and to your point, you cannot emulate having them on

(10:47):
the field.

Speaker 6 (10:48):
It's just not the same.

Speaker 7 (10:49):
However, Last Half Full is the younger guys and even
veteran guys. All these guys, all the DEAs have a
chance to work after that and get that, get that attention,
that positive attention that hey, Mike is not in but
things aren't as.

Speaker 6 (11:06):
Bad as we thought they would be without him in there.

Speaker 7 (11:08):
So I'm really looking at like a Marshawn Neelan at
that case to really step up show everything that he
has been working under. And you know, my thing is
is if you're not noticing it, you're doing a good job.
You're solidifying your spot. So for me, if it's not
a problem area where you're automatically like, oh what was that,
you're doing a good job at solidifying it, even though

(11:30):
it would be better elevated with Micah in. So for me,
I want Marshaon Neelan to take that spot. And really
I don't want you to notice him because he is
doing a great job at capping those etches off.

Speaker 4 (11:41):
All right, I want to make sure we get to
this second question.

Speaker 5 (11:43):
We got three more to go, ladies.

Speaker 6 (11:44):
All right, gosh, well.

Speaker 4 (11:46):
All right, this next question, will the Cowboys look to
add at.

Speaker 5 (11:49):
Positions of need?

Speaker 4 (11:51):
Of course, Stephen Jones saying last week, no, but we
know how they move a little in silence as of
this off season, so you never know, really know.

Speaker 3 (12:00):
But no, Well, the Cowboys look to add at.

Speaker 5 (12:02):
Positions of need. Who wants to.

Speaker 6 (12:04):
I really want to take this first go.

Speaker 7 (12:06):
In that same conversation, he mentioned the UFL, and I
would be so not right me have all people to
not mention the UFL because I've been covering it this
season and I really hate the bad stigma that follows
the UFL. That is one thing I've learned through the
season is there are really good players that just got

(12:27):
lost in the mix that could absolutely come on an
NFL roster and make an impact. So when Stephen Jones mentioned,
you know, oh, we're keeping an on the UFL UFL
championship game coming up this weekend, that means those guys
are going to be available after this weekend, and they're
already in football shape. This is something I've talked to
Daryl Johnson about. They're already in shape, They're already good

(12:50):
to go. They can pass their physicals, they can come in,
they can make an immediate impact. So kind of made
me annoyed when people were rolling their eyes about the
UFL comment that Stephen Jones, But I saw some discourse. Yeah,
and and not only that, but just the guys, the
coaches so much work goes put into the UFL that

(13:12):
is so underappreciated. So I really hope that UH more
teams do pick up on it. But I was very,
very excited to hear Stephen mentioned that. So to your
to answer your questionicle, can they pick up more guys?

Speaker 6 (13:23):
They should?

Speaker 7 (13:24):
We don't know, but I don't. I hope that if
it's uh guys from the UFL in any position you're
pretty stacked in the UFL, that you give them a chance,
and whether that be the Cowboys or any NFL team,
because they absolutely have worked their tails off this UFL season.
End of Soapbucks, all Right.

Speaker 5 (13:43):
What'd you get?

Speaker 9 (13:47):
I think, do the Cowboys need Yes? Will they do it?
I mean, Matt, not at this moment. I mean, this
is what the time is for.

Speaker 5 (13:55):
Like that's why I.

Speaker 9 (13:55):
Think this is an exciting part. We're here for me
to camp. We're gonna see every everyone. We should see
everyone here. I should say that.

Speaker 5 (14:03):
We should see everyone here.

Speaker 9 (14:05):
And I think this is the time to go back
to the Boars and Cowboys what they did last season
went to Oxnard. Injuries happened, people were playing in different spots,
and then you go out and you see who's available.
You start adding those better in pieces, that's the time.
Just I think if you get your UFL wish, that's
the time that we're gonna see it in the bottle.

Speaker 5 (14:25):
And I would be surprised.

Speaker 9 (14:26):
I mean, Cowboys like cheaper options like that is the
benefit of going to It's not necessarily a huge loss
if it doesn't work out. But yeah, I mean I
used to talk to on she does the face with
the defensive tackles when we talk about needs, right, I
know cornerbacks have been trying to make it so if
they need to, it would be nice. I mean the

(14:49):
biggest thing where I feel spoiled. Okay, I wasn't expecting
that that they moved in silence on that one, but
if they could add something on the defensive side, especially
when there's so many injuries and we're unknowns in those
two groups I just mentioned. I think this is a
roster that honeyda go. Not that the Cowboys aren't already
headlining ESPN every week during the off season season, but

(15:13):
I think this just gives them in a conversation where
people take them more serious because I think of the
season that they had with people not in house that
don't know Schottenheimer, who haven't seen what's been doing behind
the scenes. I don't think the Cowboys maybe are in
that conversation, but I think another splash if you will wait,

(15:34):
So why, okay, why do you not think that the
Cowboys are in that conversation with what they have done
this offseason free, I think they are taken more serious
now that I think Pickings was a huge deal. So
let me say that more talk about the wide receivers.
But I think, like I said, from the national standpoint,
there's there's a lot of I don't want to there's

(15:55):
a lot of haters with the Shottenheimer skepticism that's the word.

Speaker 7 (15:59):
But I think it is value to be skeptic, like
from the outside of people that have not met him,
talk to him, seen how he has run the offense,
even behind closed doors, talk to the players who directly
work with him. I think just the outline base have
never been a head coach in the NFL, not necessarily
the sexiest higher I think skepticism is okay, you know,

(16:24):
but what it does is it sets the bar low.
So that way, when the Cowboys, if I'm manifesting here,
when the Cowboys are successful under Shoddy and they are
winning games and they're looking better than they were last year.

Speaker 6 (16:36):
Which yeah, that's gonna happen regardless. Then he gets the
credit he deserves. He's not going to get.

Speaker 7 (16:44):
Anything until he's proven. So I think the skepticism and
the critics it's valid.

Speaker 6 (16:51):
It's valid right now.

Speaker 11 (16:52):
Yeah, before I answer your question, it's interesting that we're
saying that, and that's why we as the media are
on the outside looking in in this sin because I
was at the SI had the pleasure of being at
the Senior Bowl this past year, this past draft and
got to turn space with a couple of Seahawks scouts
that had worked with Brian Schottenheimer, and every person that

(17:12):
I came into contact with that has worked closely with
him said great things about him. So this isn't surprising
to them. I think it's more so, you know, again
the unknowns on the media side and some of us
that don't know him personally. But I don't know about y'all,
but I care about what my peers care about me. Yeah,
that's what I care about.

Speaker 7 (17:30):
And not only that, the UFL comes says that I've
talked to as well that directly have worked with Shoddy
early in his career or know him through the grapevine,
have all said the same thing. When you are consistent
in your reputation, that tells me something about who you.

Speaker 6 (17:45):
Are, but essily furthermore as a coach.

Speaker 11 (17:47):
But that's also interesting too because we see nuggets become
OC's had one here. That's a lot of these ocs
and these people who have become head coaches. You think
about the mcveighs, You think about some of these guys.
They were unknown, like there was a lot unknown about them.
It took somebody giving them a shot, giving them opportunity,
and shot is no different than them now. In regard
to your question, we're gonna pray about it. That's all

(18:10):
we can do. We're gonna pray about it because I
am I will say, ladies, I'm a bit torn because
I feel like, whereas I want these some of the
gentlemen that are on this roster, that have been on
this roster, that are looking for opportunity at these different positions,
I'm looking for them to do, you know, to take
the step up and to compete.

Speaker 5 (18:27):
I'm also like.

Speaker 11 (18:30):
Some of these positions when you talk about the corner
and defensive tackle position, baby it's not that many of
them left out there to get they're gonna go fast
or they're gonna be signed like at the very you know,
like middle of camp type thing.

Speaker 5 (18:44):
You know how things go. Pre mentioned that earlier. So
it's one of those things where it's like it feels
like a hurry.

Speaker 11 (18:49):
Up and wait ooh my military time, my military people,
y'all know what that mean.

Speaker 5 (18:52):
Hurry up and wait.

Speaker 11 (18:53):
But at the same time, if you hurry up and wait,
there's not what if there's not those options, the top
options to really make a difference aren't there anymore. I'm really, really,
really exhausted with the Cowboys get into the latter part
of the season and having so many injuries at certain
spots that year. You and that's that's the word going
to costco on why they're not best.

Speaker 5 (19:12):
That's exhausted. I mean, cowboy, you're asking people that work
there to be there to play on the hold up,
hold that though.

Speaker 10 (19:19):
We come back.

Speaker 4 (19:19):
When we come back after I'm with burst break, we
are gonna touch on whether or not the Cowboys should
address cornerback or defensive tackle.

Speaker 5 (19:27):
Does Aisha have the answer? We'll find out right after
the break. Girls talk.

Wow, that was I'm sorry, Sorry at sek dot com.

Speaker 5 (22:20):
Now why would you go? Child?

Speaker 6 (22:26):
No? No, are you sure?

Speaker 15 (22:29):
All?

Speaker 5 (22:29):
I think you heard it loud and clear.

Speaker 6 (22:31):
You know, I'm a little sleepy over here though.

Speaker 4 (22:34):
Well you know what, Tom, it is, awake all right,
but also we're gonna wake up because Brian Schotenheimer culture
is quite interesting.

Speaker 7 (22:44):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (22:44):
The players have clearly become very close with Shoddy, even
doing late night calls. How about Michael Parsons calling his
head coach telling him good night.

Speaker 14 (22:57):
You.

Speaker 2 (22:58):
Yeah, I just wanted to say good night.

Speaker 5 (23:01):
Okay, I love.

Speaker 1 (23:02):
That, Bro.

Speaker 5 (23:02):
What's going on y'all?

Speaker 11 (23:03):
Good?

Speaker 2 (23:03):
Hell yeah? You know what I mean. I just feel like,
you know, it's player to the coach, just checking in
on you men too, say good night, hope fans. Well
see one day I excited about next this is.

Speaker 3 (23:14):
A good night well good man.

Speaker 15 (23:16):
Hey.

Speaker 10 (23:16):
Look hey, look, I know this is weird for everybody, man,
but look, you're handling everything the right way, bro, and
this thing's gonna get worked out. And again, I'm just
I'm thrilled to see where we take this same man.
We're building something special and you're gonna be a huge
party bro.

Speaker 2 (23:32):
Yeah, man, hell yeah, hell yeah. Shelby, take a shotty
from me when you got a chance.

Speaker 10 (23:37):
Man, Hey, I'm drinking a shotty right now.

Speaker 7 (23:42):
Brother.

Speaker 5 (23:45):
Yeah, he I appreciate.

Speaker 10 (23:47):
You call me.

Speaker 11 (23:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 12 (23:49):
I love that.

Speaker 7 (23:51):
The amount of times that the word bro was said
in an entire video on TikTok it's up there.

Speaker 6 (23:57):
Yeah, like that's your favorite word, all of them his
team coaches.

Speaker 9 (24:02):
Night.

Speaker 5 (24:03):
That's so funny to me. Yeah, I've been watching them.

Speaker 6 (24:05):
It's the best.

Speaker 5 (24:07):
Watching them, watching them, watching them.

Speaker 11 (24:10):
I've been watching the trend in generally healthy for the
men folk. But yeah, obviously it's just a testament to
what we've been talking about.

Speaker 5 (24:21):
And I know that people think that this is fluff.
I know that people think that it's just like, you.

Speaker 11 (24:26):
Know, whatever they might get along with that it doesn't
matter what they put on the field, honey. Like, the
locker room is so intricate to.

Speaker 5 (24:31):
All of that.

Speaker 11 (24:32):
So if this is the relationship that the players have with,
you know, Brian Schottenheimer, why wouldn't we want them to
be connected in this way?

Speaker 5 (24:41):
So for me, I was excited to see it. I cackled.
Baby also had me screaming, Oh my goodness.

Speaker 11 (24:49):
But I was like, that's what he sounds like, and
let's keep it a thousand ladies. We know as being
in being in this building and being around that locker
room last year, that there was some tensions and there
was some difference and emotions and difference and philosophies and
some things like that.

Speaker 5 (25:07):
So there is some rebuilding that has to.

Speaker 11 (25:09):
Be done within this locker room as well, and I
think that did play a role in their success or
lack there of last year. So if this is the
energy that you're taking as a mini camp and then
it's a training camp.

Speaker 5 (25:20):
I would expect for it to translate on the field
at least.

Speaker 7 (25:23):
I want to know how many coaches might in his
entire football career he would feel comfortable making that call too,
just knowing that it's a joke and you know, all
things aside. He hand selected who to call, and Shoty
was one of the guys that he was like, I
can do this, this is okay, and he felt.

Speaker 6 (25:43):
Good doing it and it was funny. At the end
of the day. It was for a joke.

Speaker 7 (25:45):
But I want to know how many coaches in Micah's
career he can count on one hand that he could
feel comfortable making that call too, because.

Speaker 6 (25:53):
That's a late night call.

Speaker 7 (25:54):
Like, it's a late night call aside, all you know, Shody,
I'm sure answered the phone real quick to be like
what going on. But it just shows an amount of
comfortability that I think is very necessary for players and coaches.
And I feel from that video it gave very dan
Quinn Micah vibes, and I like that.

Speaker 5 (26:14):
That video actually went my bad go ahead, no, go ahead? Sorry,
go ahead?

Speaker 9 (26:17):
Oh no, I was I was just pleaning off what
they say, because I kind of agree with both of them.
But I think to Ash's point about, you know, there
was some disconnect and it was clear when certain players
left this offseason to the outsiders like, oh that was
going on in there. That's how much it matters. And
I just want to say, I think that's the key
to having the positive of having Shottenheimer here, who was

(26:39):
here last year. I'm sure that man saw a lot
of that, but he didn't have that type of control
where he could really step in. Now he does, and
it's very much evident. So I just want to say
that it's Shoddy time.

Speaker 4 (26:49):
Yeah, that video went viral, so I wanted to make
sure that everyone all saw the fact that Shoddy really
does have these close relationships with these guys, and like
I show mention is not fluff, it ain't fake, it's real,
and so we love to see that. But I do
want to get back on track to our previous conversation.
Should the Cowboys add a position to meet at cornerback

(27:10):
or defensive tackle.

Speaker 5 (27:11):
If you had to choose.

Speaker 4 (27:13):
One, if I had to choose one, you had to
choose one, that's all you get, sister.

Speaker 6 (27:18):
I'm going cornerback.

Speaker 7 (27:20):
Right now, straight up, cornerback right now, like at this second,
make a phone call right now.

Speaker 6 (27:26):
Why yep, look.

Speaker 7 (27:27):
At your cornerback room and the injuries they're coming back
from and then tell me they're gonna play the same
week one of the season.

Speaker 6 (27:33):
They're not.

Speaker 7 (27:34):
And that's just the reality of coming back from shoulder
injuries or acl Like, you don't even know when Trayvon
could come back realistically at this point, we don't know
a timeline. That doesn't make me feel very secure. Doron
Bland barely filly and like himself again. Kayln Carson off
season shoulder surgery, all right, cool, that's gonna take time
to come back from.

Speaker 6 (27:54):
All your star players or supposed to be star players.

Speaker 7 (27:57):
Have had injuries that are going to I'm not being
a pessimist. I'm not being negative. Realistically, are going to
impact how they play for the better half of the
first part of the season at least, if not the
entire season. That is just what we have seen over
and over again, especially with Trey's knee injury. I mean, gosh,

(28:18):
I even go back to talking to Michael Gallup about
how long it took him physically and mentally to come
back from that.

Speaker 6 (28:25):
It's just.

Speaker 7 (28:27):
It's a common thing we see in the NFL. It's
just not talked about. Instead it's criticized and oh he's
not playing the same, he doesn't look the same.

Speaker 6 (28:33):
Well, yeah, he's coming back from an ac injury.

Speaker 5 (28:36):
What do you think?

Speaker 7 (28:37):
So for me, cornerback is in need because not only
not only are your star players just barely going to
be coming back potentially or not at all, you don't
have depth. So if somebody else gets hurt in a
very physical position such as cornerback, what are you doing
picking on the spot, getting somebody on the spot, because
you have to no, be prepared ahead of time, plan

(29:00):
for injuries. Injuries happen. It's the most unfortunate part of
this game. Gosh, just please be prepared. That's something I
wish that they would do for this specific cornerback room.

Speaker 4 (29:12):
And you can't forget about your rookie draft Picksavone Rebel
who was supposed to be a ball hawk for.

Speaker 5 (29:15):
You, right so torn AND's Aco.

Speaker 7 (29:17):
Also hurt, also hurt, So you're realistically, are you really
going to see what Chevon Rebel can be until this
next next season?

Speaker 5 (29:25):
Probably not?

Speaker 6 (29:26):
So Yeah, uh, going.

Speaker 5 (29:27):
Cornerback one you got.

Speaker 9 (29:30):
I'm about to I'm about to copy jest the way
just because of that's the injuries. Yes, and I say
the let's if we had a game today, de Ron
Bland is your number one cornerback who isn't where he
was at in twenty twenty three, right, but I think
he's still a way above corner in this league. But
he is QB Oneake me, it's fine, he got quarterback

(29:55):
one if they have a game today. The issue I
have is that he's been working now, thank you, Chris, thanks,
he's been working out in the slot and he was
on record telling reporters that he and it's been known
it's not a bad thing that he his preference is
to play outside. Well right now with everything going on,
they have him working in the slot. I want Deron Bland,

(30:15):
who's trying to get back to Derron Bland twenty twenty three.
I want him to play where he wants to play
and where he's most comfortable.

Speaker 5 (30:20):
That we have players.

Speaker 9 (30:21):
You know, we talked about the O line, how they
have this depth and they have multiple players. It's a
good thing that can play at different spots. But also
we have guys who say, hey, I prefer to play here.
I want durn Bland to play where he wants to play.
I want to see what is he We've been seeing
him working with the corners. I want to see what
he's doing. I want to see if this is the
breakout year for one A Thomas, if we can use

(30:43):
him in there. I want to see the preseason Kimon Hall,
who was a ballhawk and we were all swarming at
his locker. I want to see if this is something
he could play in that spot position. You guys know
I've covered Kyrie Elam. I want to see if this
is the reset refresh. Andrew Booth had some struggles last year.

(31:04):
He's working there behind Kayir. I want to see what
he has to go on a lot of these options.
They're affordable outside Doron Blan, Who's gonna be in the
contract talk again here shortly, so if they can make
and develop with the coaches that they have, Yes, this
is great, But do I want to put my house
on the market on the situation right now?

Speaker 5 (31:25):
I don't have the house on the.

Speaker 9 (31:27):
Markets on her I've been learning the blackjack table.

Speaker 5 (31:30):
I got a lot of gambling in me.

Speaker 9 (31:32):
It's very fun and I see why but again, I
wouldn't bet.

Speaker 5 (31:36):
I wouldn't bet on this situation.

Speaker 9 (31:38):
I would go out and there are options available that
I think that could be cost effective.

Speaker 5 (31:43):
I know it's very important to the people siding these checks.
So I'm with Jess on the corners. Are you sure
what you got? H?

Speaker 11 (31:50):
Well, I feel like I got therapy after this, and
I'm telling Cole for making me have to choose, this
is wrong and it's very difficult for me to have
to choose because I look football as a machine and
I look at how it operates as a machine, and
it's it's that's why it is.

Speaker 5 (32:04):
It is structured the way in which it's structured.

Speaker 11 (32:07):
And so for me to choose defensive tackle when I
know that defensive when for me to choose corner when
I know that corner is predicated on defensive tackle play
does something to my ADHD and I go into a swirl.
But I will say this, if I have to choose
one at this point in time, I do think it
is important for the turnovers to return to Dallas. They

(32:29):
ranked twenty second, twenty eighth rather in turnovers last year,
and this is something that you know is important to
what you want to do offensively to be able to
capitalize off of those plays. But you do have to
be able to get pressure up front. I hate that
we've been put in in a position.

Speaker 5 (32:45):
Where we have to choose huh what else what you say?

Speaker 11 (32:49):
I hate that that has to be a choice and
which you do take care of this defense because you
having holes at the first and third level stress me out.
You can maybe get away with the second, Maybe you
could get away with some of the lineback and stuff,
but the first and third level are so important to
what defense is. I'm just looking for them to figure
out how Like you said, I think you mentioned breed, like,

(33:11):
we got some guys on the cornerback side that you're
looking to see if they can take that uptick. My
thing is is it doesn't matter to me whichever one
they pick.

Speaker 5 (33:19):
Just do it quickly.

Speaker 11 (33:20):
Don't sit on your hands and wait and things like that.
If we are going in a mini camp training camp
and you see bebe he cannot turn and burn yep,
this person literally cannot press. This person can't get through
trash on the cornerback side, then get in there and
make some changes and the defensive side. If you see
guys can't take on double teams and they're getting pushed
back five yards. That's what's gonna happen in real games.

(33:41):
Do not wait forever to decide on these things, because
you do need a level of synergy going into the season.
So I hate that you made me choose. I hate
that you made your office. But if I'm thinking about
football like the machine that it is, it has to
be defensive tackle. You get pressure, it causes quarterbacks to
not be able to do the things they want to do,
causes turnovers, and then you can benefit from that.

Speaker 5 (34:03):
I usual you mentioned.

Speaker 4 (34:03):
I want to hurry up and get to this last
question before we take our second break. You mentioned a
level of synergy. How about this offensive line? How much
do you see the offensive line rotating?

Speaker 6 (34:13):
I'm gonna start yep.

Speaker 4 (34:15):
Uh jess, Yeah, looks stressed.

Speaker 6 (34:18):
How are youse? So breathe baby bath?

Speaker 7 (34:23):
Okay, So how often do you see them rotating? I
don't want to see them rotating.

Speaker 6 (34:27):
I want to see your set line set like.

Speaker 7 (34:32):
I'm tired of this rotating offensive line narrative.

Speaker 6 (34:35):
It's great you should have even.

Speaker 7 (34:39):
Through many camp I want to see them can. I
want to see them start conforming to be a wall
like I think at this point you've seen what happens
when you don't have your key guys in there, and
it takes a while for that offensive line to gel
and become cohesive. I don't want that disrupt I want

(35:00):
that to start at training camp. And it is important
to make sure you understand who your plug and play
players are, who your swings are. I think that's important.
But for the most part, your offensive line is still
too new to have the I guess what's the word.
I'm looking for convenience to rotate. If they were older guys,

(35:21):
veteran players, yes, you can get away with that.

Speaker 5 (35:24):
They still need.

Speaker 6 (35:24):
Their practice reps too. They're still younger.

Speaker 7 (35:27):
They're on the younger side of things, and especially you
know Cooper BB only being his second year, potentially still
at center.

Speaker 5 (35:35):
We're assuming.

Speaker 7 (35:36):
I want to see that continue to gel because you
have to keep in mind they didn't have Dak Prescott
last year to do that with, so they also need
to continue to build that rapport with him.

Speaker 6 (35:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (35:46):
I don't want to see a lot of rotation, and
maybe that's an unpopular opinion, but I need that offensive
line to be the most stout thing protect your quarterback.
Give him that reassurance that he can do what he
needs to do, whether that be you know, as mobile
as he's been in the past, whatever their game plan
has been for that. I don't see him being more
mobile than he's been. I feel like it's probably gonna
be about the same. But give Dak Prescott the peace

(36:10):
here period.

Speaker 11 (36:14):
Or h I'm gonna I'm gonna side with just uh.
I will say mini camp, I think I'm a little
bit more open to some of the rotation.

Speaker 5 (36:25):
But Babe, when you get to train of camp, don't
do it.

Speaker 11 (36:27):
I agree that you need to have who your starters
are kind of solidified. When you look at Clayton Adams
and the things that he asks his offensive line to do,
it's a lot of power counter duo. Guys are shifting informations,
and then there's a lot of variations from Connor Riley
out of Kansas State, the new offense, the new offensive
line coach. He believes in efficiency, he believes in a

(36:50):
lot of communication and misdirection.

Speaker 5 (36:53):
So this team that was one of.

Speaker 11 (36:56):
The more penalized teams from the offensive line spot as
well because of the miscommunication, does not have the room
to me to have all of the mixes. Now, we
understand that injuries happened during the season, and gentlemen do
need to be prepared to come in and be ready.
But I think there is something to be said about
establishing your offensive line as just mentioned, and that being
your guys, and then building that cohesiveness going into the season.

(37:20):
You got a lot of hard road games this year,
and you're gonna need to be able to communicate effectively,
even without verbal So this is with the new offensive
line coach and the new OC they are Fancis Schmancy.

Speaker 5 (37:33):
A little bit.

Speaker 11 (37:35):
Listen, what's smanch They'll remember listen, hey, listen.

Speaker 5 (37:41):
So for me, I'm like you there, this is.

Speaker 11 (37:45):
Gonna be a more complex running game, in a more
complex passing game than we've seen in a while. So
this communication is going to be have to be on point,
and I don't think I want to wait forever to
see it.

Speaker 5 (37:55):
Yeah, you said it earlier last segment. Machine, This is
a machine.

Speaker 9 (37:58):
It is this machine to me, such with the old line,
there's like.

Speaker 5 (38:02):
A crazy statue. I can't even it was the crazy
stat I read the end of.

Speaker 9 (38:05):
The season about how many times this who was supposed
to be the starting five, the best five last year.

Speaker 5 (38:11):
Actually got to play together. Girl, so too ridiculous.

Speaker 9 (38:14):
Jess is uh saying, like burn them out. We want
to see them work, like basically like put them to work.

Speaker 6 (38:20):
I want you to be sick of each other.

Speaker 9 (38:22):
We got young guys to do it, so they should
be they should be good. We got guy nothing but Salmon,
we should be straight on that. But again, going back,
going back, we got guying BB Booker. Still that's who
in my mind today we start a game. But I
also want to see we talked about him, and I
want to see what Rob Jones is going to bring
to that depth.

Speaker 5 (38:43):
TJ.

Speaker 9 (38:44):
Bask continues to elevate brock Hoffman. I don't think he
gets enough credit for what he does. Towards the end
of the season, Baby, they were taking on by a thread,
and brock Hoffman was He wasn't enough, He wasn't a
liability for not talking about brock Hoffman, which we weren't
at the end of the season. I think he was
holding up so that I'm definitely keep an eye on
those guys, want to see what they are able to do.

Speaker 5 (39:04):
But yeah, like.

Speaker 9 (39:07):
O line, please, if you love us, get it going
because I don't think the Cowboys, I personally don't think
the Cowboys need to go out there and or a
lot of them are gone now and get and sign
the Nick Chubbs because it don't matter if the O
line can't do it. And I think who we had
last year. These weren't these top elite running backs. But
if you just do your job up front, things were happening.

(39:30):
Lanes were opening, and then you got Dak come back.
You got pickings. Here we're gonna have Oh my god,
I'm excited if it works up. It's only exciting if
the O line can get it together. Wants to see
what this offensive line can do. Well, I want to
see what y'all can do, putting y'all to the test.
Right after break here, we're gonna play a little game.

I take it.

Speaker 9 (43:28):
That's Okay, he's been talked about lately. It's hard Shotty said,
it's hard to see with what the limited they have.
But when it comes to the film, who's in the meetings,
who's locked in he's asking the right questions, it's him.

Speaker 5 (43:37):
So I'm going with Kaya.

Speaker 7 (43:38):
All right, Jess, I'm going George Pickens because all eyes
are ready on him. You're gonna get a little salte
as I usually likes to say of what this offensive
is with him, Uh no shade, ceedee lamb, no hate.
But I just think all eyes are on George Pickens
and what he's able to add to this offense.

Speaker 6 (43:55):
He's already gonna be talked about. So I kind of
went the easy route with that.

Speaker 11 (43:58):
All right, Ayisha, I'm gonna go with Jack Sanbourne. I
think people are gonna notice him stand out a little
bit more and him take command. As Nicole did in
her fantastic segment this past weekend talking about him, I
think he's gonna take command of that defense, that second
level when people are gonna be like, Okay, who is
this guy?

Speaker 5 (44:18):
What is this purpose?

Speaker 11 (44:19):
I'm gonna be asking more questions about him after MANI
camp all.

Speaker 5 (44:21):
Right, you ready for the next one.

Speaker 4 (44:23):
No, which veteran has the most to prove this week?

Speaker 10 (44:30):
Ten?

Speaker 5 (44:31):
All right, I'm gonna go twenty. Sorry, is a veteran?
The technicality?

Speaker 7 (44:35):
Yes, which veteran has the most nineteen this week?

Speaker 6 (44:38):
Eighteen seventeen?

Speaker 4 (44:40):
Oh, I have one sixteen fifteen. This is a cheap
fourteen thirteen, twelve, eleven, ten, nine eight seven.

Speaker 6 (44:56):
Making my palm sweaty.

Speaker 5 (44:58):
It is a five O three two?

Speaker 10 (45:05):
Get what?

Speaker 5 (45:12):
All right? Bring zero?

Speaker 3 (45:14):
You got it?

Speaker 5 (45:17):
Times up?

Speaker 7 (45:17):
All right?

Speaker 5 (45:18):
Who has the most approved? I think dus Von we're
talking about.

Speaker 9 (45:22):
I know he's not the star player, but there that's
the problem. That's the problem, huh, I say, vaugh He's he's,
he's I was, I was shook.

Speaker 8 (45:30):
Fix it.

Speaker 9 (45:31):
That's just too girl. I'm looking at that running back room.
I'm looking at some of the younger guys more. He's
just had to. I feel like he's on his last
straw and I want to see him pop off all
of a preseason guy.

Speaker 5 (45:41):
All right, ask the question again, which veteran has the
most approved? Jake Ferguson adds emphasis, I told you.

Speaker 6 (45:48):
Jake Ferguson, that's a good one.

Speaker 7 (45:49):
I'm going with Jake Ferguson because your tight end room
no hopefully hopefully, like we're just talking about, with the
offensive line, no longer has to just worry about blocking.
They can becomes receiving aspects of your game as well.
Jake Ferguson coming back from injury last year, he was
very vocal about how it impacted him. I want to
see dog Jake Ferguson back at it, so I feel

(46:11):
like this is your first glimpse of it. You get
to see him lead that room into a better direction
than what it's been at. I'm going Jake Fergie Fergie
Berg All.

Speaker 11 (46:20):
Right, Aisia, I think the short answer is Mozzie Smith.

Speaker 5 (46:24):
Oh, great one, let's talk about it. All right? That
was great?

Speaker 3 (46:27):
We got one more question?

Speaker 6 (46:28):
Got time for one more?

Speaker 4 (46:29):
Are you already which young player will fans overreact to
after one great practice clip?

Speaker 5 (46:37):
Alright, y'all got twenty Oh that's a good one.

Speaker 4 (46:39):
Nineteen eighteen, seventeen hold on sixteen one, fifteen, fourteen, thirteen, twelve, eleven, ten, nine, eight, seven, six, okay,
five four.

Speaker 3 (47:01):
Two one?

Speaker 5 (47:04):
All right? Who wants to go first? I usuld go.
I think it's gonna be a dang dang he's just
me out a little bit. It was in my head
I forgot all.

Speaker 6 (47:16):
Right, I'm going Jadeen Blue.

Speaker 5 (47:18):
I'm going to Jaden Blue.

Speaker 7 (47:20):
And that's only because the competition at running back is
going to be so up and down all around. Like
anytime I think, in general, you get a good running back,
Clipper can be like that's the guy. Because you're just
so excited to be able to have an established running back.
I would say, cool, your jets, wait till kind of
the end of training camp to get excited about who
could be your running back one, and I think at

(47:40):
that point you'll get a better idea. I'm just I'm
throwing Jayden Blue in there because he's your young running back.
But I think anytime you see any running back play
like everybody's gonna overreact as they should, you should be excited.

Speaker 9 (47:51):
All right, Brie, I'm going the easy route. I'm going
Tyler Brooker just because the first round pick. Anytime he
does something spectacular or average, and I think he's gonna
be a great iss into this group. But I'm just saying,
first round pig is, it's always gonna be all for action, all.

Speaker 5 (48:03):
Right, are you? I'm gonna go Downovan is rockhup.

Speaker 11 (48:05):
I think people are gonna be a little little sighted
seeing how bindy he is in a way that he
can center himself to the to the floor and really
really turn the corner on some of these tackles.

Speaker 5 (48:15):
I think people gonna get excited. It should be temper yourself.

Speaker 4 (48:18):
All right, Well, this has been fun, a great season
with you, ladies. We'll be back here come training camp.

Speaker 5 (48:23):
But my god, I forgot so long.
