Let's go. We got a reporter from.

Speaker 4 (00:53):
North Carolina, Casey Funderberg, that is joining the show to
give us an insight on the Carolina Panthers, who, of
course came back from a seventeen to nothing deficit against
the Miami Dolphins.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
Hello, what's up, Casey? How you doing?

Speaker 1 (01:07):
Hi?

Speaker 6 (01:07):
Good morning y'all. I love this energy that you guys

and gets you ready for Friday. I'm loving it and
I'm so glad to be here with you guys this morning.

Speaker 4 (01:19):
Bree shout out to Briet helping you get on the show.
We appreciate you so much for taking out the time.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
But we wake up with some energy. That's all we
got that way. Yeah, hello, but no, we're gonna get
to it.

Speaker 4 (01:31):
My question is to you, is you know what kind
of stood out schematically about the way that Carolina attacked
Miami's defense and how much do you feel like they.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
Can carry that over against Dallas on Sunday.

Speaker 7 (01:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:44):
Well, obviously, someone that you guys are probably pretty familiar with,
Rico Dwbdell. The way that he was able to just
play his game against the Dolphins was pretty impressive. Last week,
they had to switch to that one back situation because
of Chuba Hubbard being hurt. You know, he's the top
running back to the Carolina Panthers right now, but he's

(02:04):
actually I think he's not even practiced all week long,
so he might be out again this week against the Cowboys.
But he was benched last week due to an injury,
so it was an opportunity for us to see what
makes Rico Dudel so impressive. I mean, he had a
thousand yards last season, so we already knew that, but
I think that was the big thing. Carolina just really

(02:26):
sticking to their run game, sticking to that one back scheme,
and then obviously going to their receivers and they needed to.
But you know, Carolina, all season long, they've talked about
We're going to be a run first offense, and I
think last week was the first time that we saw that,
and we saw it in a way that actually showcase

(02:48):
what they've been preaching basically since Mini camp, you know,
back in May or whatever.

Speaker 8 (02:53):
That was thank you, thank you ever and then just
kind of quick about the receivers. I feel like only
thing I'm really saying consistent over there is the rookie McMillan.
And it looks like Legett was kind of falling off
there for a little bit. I know he was dealing
with like a little bit of injury. But who else
are they kind of leaning on or Dallas should be
preparing for defensively, but outside of McMillan, or is that

(03:16):
just or is that just the who needs they need
to look for.

Speaker 6 (03:20):
Yeah, Well, obviously McMillan is going to be a big
one that I think Dallas will focus on a lot,
and he's t Mac has been really trying to get
into the end zone. He hasn't scored his first touchdown
as a rookie yet, so I know that's what he's
trying to do. Hunter Renfro, he's the guy that Carolina
picked up and has been honestly a really surprising player

(03:41):
for Carolina. He's been consistent. He's the guy that Bryce
Young can count on to run his route correctly, get
to where he needs to be catch the ball. I
think in our first two games, Renfro was the top receiver.
So he's a guy that I think Dallas will have
to watch out for. And they've probably you know, played

(04:02):
him quite a few times when he was with the Raiders.
But he is a guy who I personally really enjoy
watching and I think has been really great for the Panthers,
and I think, you know, leget he came back last week,
he got a touchdown, which I think is great for
his confidence because that's what I think was lacking. He
was going through obviously an injury, but I think there

(04:22):
was some maybe some confidence that he was lacking in
the first few weeks, and so the Panthers were trying
to give him time just to get out of his head,
and last weekend I think he did that, hoping we're
going to see the leaguette that they you know, drafted
two years ago.

Speaker 7 (04:39):
Casey, I'd like to go to the other side of
the ball for just a moment because of after Nicole
mentioned the comeback after falling behind by seventeen points to
Miami last week, the defense really stepped up and helps
with that rally. But one thing with the Cowboys defense
that's been a concern this year is the pass rush,
mainly the lack thereof and nine sacks because they had

(05:01):
a big week last week. But man, the Panthers just
that the numbers only five sacks. Is there like Defcon
five going on there in Carolina? And what do you
see going on with that line in the pass rush?

Speaker 6 (05:16):
H Yeah, five sacks is not There's a couple of
players who almost have that on their own at this
point on different teams. So the pass rush I think
has been probably one of the more difficult things for
this Panthers defensive line. And when it comes to you know,
going up against Dak Prescott, you have to be able
to put pressure on him or he's going to be
able to make plays in the pocket. And so one

(05:41):
thing that I think they figured out last week that
helped the line a lot. Obviously, Derek Brown, he's your
leader on the defensive line, but they actually switched up
the captains on defense last week. Christian rose Boom was
no longer the captain. Wallace took over that spot and
it allowed some of those some of the linebackers to

(06:01):
play a little bit more freely and allow the defensive
line to kind of rely on them a little bit more.
And so I think that's what's going to help them
going forward. That was the first time they had changed
that up this season, and so I think that's going
to help them as far as the pass rush goes.
But that's been one of the biggest things that Carolina

(06:21):
has been focusing on even in the off season, and
how are we going to get to the quarterback because
last season, and I think their defense, the team as
a whole was ranked thirty second in the league. I mean,
they were literally at the bottom. And so they've figured
out a little bit the secondary because that's where they
spent the most time in the off season. But as
far as the guys that are going to be putting

(06:41):
pressure on Dak and the guys are going to be
lining up, having Derek Brown healthy because they didn't have
him last season. Having him healthy and then having the
switch up with the linebackers, I think is what's going
to be the difference for Carolina going forward and hopefully
for their sake, getting to Dak. Press got a few
times on Sunday.

Speaker 9 (07:02):
Oh, you answered my question about the linebacker situation because
Trevin Wallace out of Kentucky getting the opportunity to get
more snaps is something that.

Speaker 5 (07:11):
It sounds like for you folks, is a good thing.

Speaker 9 (07:14):
I was looking at it for Dallas at somewhere where
they I thought maybe could they could take advantage. But
I wanted to ask you about Bryce Young and his development.
We're seeing him most of his touchdowns this year have
come against man coverage seven tds. Dallas plays zone at
a very high clip only well first only second to

(07:35):
you folks in Carolina.

Speaker 7 (07:37):
How do you has.

Speaker 9 (07:38):
Coach talked about how his development is going and how
they can help improve you know, some of the things
that he's struggling with in zone coverage. He has four
interceptions against zone coverage this year.

Speaker 6 (07:51):
Yeah, that's one thing we talk a lot about on
our show is just you know, has Bryce kind of
figured out how to play that role because it seems
like when they he is going up against his own coverage,
it's almost like his quickness delays a few seconds, right,
and that's led to some of those interceptions. I will
say coach Canalis is always saying he has full confidence

(08:12):
in him, full confidence in his growth. But that has
a big question all year long, even in the win
against the Falcons, even in the win against Miami, is
has Bryce Young improved enough from year one to now
to be able to lead this team in big games
to be able to go against a coverage that he
doesn't play well typically against but come out successful. And

(08:34):
so do I think he has improved from last season
to this season. Maybe the numbers don't really provide that.
He's not had a lot of big yardage games, and
that's concerning. If he's not throwing the ball for over
two hundred yards, I mean it's almost it's you're getting sacked,

(08:54):
or you're not getting to the run game or you're
not making plays, and so I will say it's concerning
his lack of numbers that he's able to pull up
or put up, and the fact that you know, once
someone shows a own coverage, then we're at they're at
the risk of turning the ball over because that's all
that he's done this season. So Dave Canalis has full

(09:18):
confidence in them. The guys in the locker room say
that they have full confidence in him. But until he's
able to actually put those numbers up and show it
on the field consistently, I just I don't know if
he's going to be the long term guy for the Panthers. Honestly.

Speaker 7 (09:32):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (09:33):
Yeah, if I can.

Speaker 7 (09:34):
Follow up on that casey, because you mentioned the turnovers
and sometimes it's matchups and sometimes teams just have your number.
But you know, last year Bryce responsible for four turnovers
against the Cowboys. He lost the two fumbles and there
were the two interceptions, and then the year before lost
a fumble and that was one of Deron Bland's picked

(09:56):
six's of his record breaking year. So so it sounds
like this is a concern for Bryce that goes way
beyond Cowboys. Would that be a fair assumption.

Speaker 6 (10:08):
Yeah, I think so, especially going back to his first year.
I definitely think the problem with that was the offensive
line was not what it is now, and so obviously
that put a lot of pressure on him and Bryce,
I'll give it to him. He's had to go through,
you know, already a coaching change in his professional career,
and so this is his first time having consistency with

(10:29):
a head coach, with an offensive coordinator being at the
helm of the offense, and so I do think that's
played a big role in that. But it is a
concern him being able to take care of the ball,
him being able to make decisions quickly. It's not like
he doesn't know what he's doing. Bryce is not a
bad quarterback by any means. It's just being able to

(10:53):
get his you know, being able to process what's happening
in front of him quick enough to make a decision.
And I will say this season, the offensive line is
back in full force. We did lose a couple guys
to injury that will hopefully be here in a couple
of weeks, because that was a big thing coming into
the season. Is the offensive line's going to be the

(11:13):
same guys they had last season, and the offensive line
is probably the only strong unit that the Panthers had
last season, and so I think when those guys are
performing at their best, which it seems like last week
they were, so hopefully they'll carry that over to this week.
But when those guys are performing at their best, it
allowed Bryce to spend a little more time making decisions.

(11:34):
But he is one of the lower quarterbacks in the
league when it comes to making decisions, and I think
we've seen that with these turnovers where that really hurts
this Carolina offense.

Speaker 7 (11:45):
Yeah, you think you're going to have Moten this week.
I know he's missed a couple days this week.

Speaker 6 (11:49):
You're right, tackle so Molten he was in practice this week.
They've not come out with the injury report. We'll probably
get that after practice this morning. They're going to hit
the field around eleven am Eastern time, so we'll probably
get that afterwards. He was in practice when I was
there on Thursday, So would love to have him out

(12:10):
there because obviously he's a big time guy for this
offensive line. But we should hopefully know by this afternoon
who can be suiting up on Sunday and who's not Casey.

Speaker 4 (12:20):
Before we wrap up, my last question, to you is
you know, the Cowboys obviously have found some life in
their run game, ran for over one hundred yards in
each of the first five games. Of course, they've got
a new guy, Javonte Williams, leading the way for them.
I mean, what's your thoughts on Javonte Williams considering I mean,
you guys are fresh off one of the best defensive
performances in y'all's franchise is history, holding the Dolphins to

(12:44):
just fourteen rushing yards.

Speaker 6 (12:47):
Yeah. Well, and what's crazy is the Panthers have been
not great at stop their run game. And so when
I saw the stats from the Dolphins game, I mean
I watched it, but it's like when you actually see
the stats on paper, you're like, this is this the
same defense this season? So I do find that to

(13:09):
be a little concerning. The stopping the run has been
an issue for Carolina obviously, Like I talked about, they
spend a lot of time on the secondary and being
able to, you know, get some really good guys out there.
But I think the defensive line knowing that they need
to put the pressure on this team and knowing that
if they fail to do that that that could really

(13:30):
create allow Dallas to create some very explosive plays. I
think that's going to help them. And obviously the linebacker
situation where they've been able to bring in some of
the younger guys that they brought on the team this
year and allow them to just play their game. I
think that's going to allow them to help minimize the rush.

(13:51):
But that is one of probably one of Carolina's biggest
concerns when it comes to the decent side of the ball,
is stopping those guys, and when they're going up against
a running back system as good as the Cowboys, I
think it's going to be a really big challenge for
the defense, but hopefully one that they're up to taking
on On Sunday.

Speaker 3 (14:08):
Well, I'm going out to you.

Speaker 4 (14:09):
I don't hope they shall figure it out, y'all don't
figure it out so next week.

Speaker 3 (14:14):
But we appreciate you so so so much.

Speaker 4 (14:17):
Shout out to you for allowing her to get some
time or getting that together. So we appreciate you, girl,
Thank you so much. Yeah, Well, we will see you this,
I will see you Sunday.

Speaker 6 (14:28):
Yeah, absolutely, thank you.

Speaker 3 (14:31):
No problem, that's great.

Speaker 5 (14:35):
We're in the Yeah, I just feel like we're in
the Twilight Zone.

Speaker 9 (14:38):
Hearing her talk about Dallas's rushing attack, It's like.

Speaker 3 (14:42):
What that's us?

Speaker 10 (14:44):
Who?

Speaker 3 (14:44):
Wow? Who got what we do?

Speaker 6 (14:47):

Speaker 3 (17:50):
Wow, shout out to Casey for giving us some good stuff. Nice,
really good breaking it down, breaking it all down like

You really want to?

Speaker 3 (18:00):
Yeah, really, but I'm not gonna do. I'm gonna egg
you on.

Speaker 4 (18:05):
Love you man, all right, the Cowboys run game. That
was what we were able to finish off with.

Speaker 3 (18:09):
And Clayton Adams basically saying yesterday, I'm not satisfied.

Speaker 11 (18:14):
It's not enough.

Speaker 3 (18:15):
It's not enough.

Speaker 4 (18:17):
But which is crazy because I mean, like I said
in the first segment, this team has rushed for over
one hundred yards in each of the first five games
this season, something we could not say last year and
the year before.

Speaker 3 (18:30):
Yeah, ladies, I mean thoughts, sorry, a little share thoughts.

Speaker 4 (18:33):
On Clayton's Clayton's words in terms of what you do
need to see in terms of the improvement, are you sure?

Speaker 3 (18:39):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (18:40):
Uh?

Speaker 11 (18:40):
Well really, honestly, I don't know.

Speaker 9 (18:43):
I know he's a coach, so there's things that he
is looking for, maybe a little bit of a perfectionist,
but what you're what he's really talking about is mostly
the guys getting to the second level, and which is
what I'm assuming it's some of those miss assignments when
these guys are trying to get up feel trying to
drive on some of these linebackers. You can see that
there's opportunity for some of these run plays to go

(19:05):
even further if these guys were able to engage their
blocks on the second level a little bit cleaner. We're
not seeing a crap ton of pre snap penalties, which
is awesome from the offensive line.

Speaker 3 (19:16):
I think that that stands out.

Speaker 9 (19:17):
But what I really think he is talking about is
some of these just those little mishaps that are happening
where there are creases for these running backs, but they
kind of close up quicker than what he wants them
to because you're not getting you know, there's a couple
of times that you see, like TJ Bass getting to
the second level. He's been fantastic, but sometimes he struggles there.
Brockoffin sometimes he struggles there. Nate Thomas had a couple

(19:38):
of blocks missed, you know, when he was trying to
get up field. So I just think he's just looking
for them to put it all together. But I feel
like for us do's not coaches. Yeah, I don't feel
like I'm gonna die, But I understand why he is
looking for more from those guys. And he thinks they
can be even more efficient, which is insane, But I
think they want to be dominant.

Speaker 11 (19:58):
Yeah, it sounds like he wants to like, yes, you're a.

Speaker 5 (20:01):
Fishing right now, able to run the ball in.

Speaker 9 (20:04):
Several different ways, but can you dominate every single time
you decide to run the ball out the backfield?

Speaker 5 (20:10):
And I think that's what he's looking for. And it's
kind of like that.

Speaker 2 (20:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (20:12):
And he talked yesterday about staying committed to the run
and Shoddy staying committed to the run, and the way
that you can do that is by getting good yardage,
not just two three yards on these first down runs,
staying ahead of the chains. We talk about that all
the time, right, and not putting yourself in second and long,
lastly later third and long.

Speaker 10 (20:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (20:32):
And so you know, you look at the stats and
the Cowboys are top ten, specifically top they're number eight
and rushing yards per game, but the more important statistic
is the yards per carry, and it's five point three eight.
That's terrific. That's fourth in the league. Only the Commanders, Ravens,

(20:53):
and Jets have more than that. And you know, like
you look at the Ravens and the Jets and even
Jayden Daniel being healthy. With the Commanders, a lot of
that better run totals and higher average is because their
quarterbacks get out there and get big gains. But yeah,
I think that the main thing is we know that

(21:13):
Clayton Adams at this background with offensive line once just
wants the commitment to the run game. But the main
thing is him being simpatico was shoddy and staying committed
to it. And that's the main thing that I took
away from yesterday's press conference with the offensive coordinator.

Speaker 8 (21:29):
Yeah, the main thing that when he was talking that
I wrote down was lacking consistency, because you've heard that
from Shottenneimer and now you're hearing it from Clayton Adams,
who has a very much straight face, by the way,
and when he gives his answers, and I shout out
to Patrick Walker there when he asked his question saying,
you guys are in pretty much top five categories and
listed all your stuff, He's like, yeah, that's not good enough.

Speaker 3 (21:50):
But the lacking consistency.

Speaker 9 (21:52):
Is what I think of is when we saw we're
trying to figure out why Nate Thomas got a chance
to go in there when Terence Terrence wasn't hurt, and
then obviously when guy went out, he went over there.

Speaker 3 (22:04):
But I think that's what he's talking about, Christy.

Speaker 8 (22:05):
He's willing to put some other people in to see
what they can get because it's not meeting his satisfactory
which is crazy to the outside world because we're like,
we'll take it. But I like that he's not settling
for what you'll take it because he also realizes, hey,
we're in the beginning of our season, still like it's
only going to get harder.

Speaker 3 (22:22):
We're I'm still smiling about what happened last night against.

Speaker 8 (22:26):
The Eagles, right people, teams are figuring stuff out. The
fact that the Giants were able to get that went
over the Eagles just lets you know what type of
anything can happen on any any given day. And the Commanders,
that's who you're facing after the Panthers, which statistically is
going to.

Speaker 3 (22:43):
Be a tougher.

Speaker 11 (22:44):
Opponent coming in here.

Speaker 8 (22:45):
So I like the fact that, yes, we're giving them
praise on both sides. Of the balls for what they
were able to do against the Jets, a team they
should have been in. Yes, but realistically it's going to
get tougher from here on out. So I like the
standard that he's setting for this team. He ain't playing
no game.

Speaker 3 (23:00):
And also, okay, no, no, you're no.

Speaker 9 (23:02):
Seriously too, there's a Javonte Williams in some of these
plays and if you look, oh yeah, he's a band aid.

Speaker 3 (23:08):
He there are opportunities.

Speaker 9 (23:10):
There's times where he is making things look a little
prettier than what they are being blocked up front his
yards after his ability to run through contact get and
I think that Clayton, what he is saying.

Speaker 5 (23:22):
Is what if he's not contacted? What if he's not contacted?

Speaker 9 (23:25):
What if you guys do hold up your blocks, Well, man,
then you're really going to get some of those explosive
plays on the ground.

Speaker 11 (23:32):
I expect some explosive plays in this game.

Speaker 8 (23:34):
Yeah, he was talked about that and to the film
that he's like when he goes and watches and he
says even at practice, he looks at like, Okay, we're
doing this good, but how are we taking three steps
back from this thing that we did great?

Speaker 3 (23:45):
Just last week.

Speaker 8 (23:46):
So going back to that consistent and to your point,
he's watching that tape and probably like, we just did
this and we executed and we took this step and
somehow we're back and we're not doing this well again.
And I think it does come even though we're praising
him in the whole group for able to, you know,
get this win without four offensive starters.

Speaker 3 (24:04):
Continuity is a thing with offense live.

Speaker 8 (24:05):
There's a reason why most coaches in the NFL do
not like switching things out in what he's been having
kind of forced hand to do as well.

Speaker 4 (24:11):
Yeah, and that's something that granted, I know we respect
the previous coaching staff, but I don't feel like we
ever really got that from the previous oc in terms
of well, I'm sorry, we did get it from Shotty,
but in terms of like the offensive line and things
like that, like I don't feel.

Speaker 3 (24:26):
Like we titally got that type of like, oh, I'm
not satisfied, like you know.

Speaker 7 (24:32):
So, yeah, it was a lip service. It was a
lot of lips there. But if you fall behind the change,
you can't run it consistently when it's second and eight.

Speaker 9 (24:41):
That was myst week, and it's a lot of second
intends last week, and I was.

Speaker 3 (24:44):
Like, hey, it's not that, Yeah, stop doing that. I
know we talked about I wanted to ask you, ladies.

Speaker 4 (24:51):
I know we talked about it yesterday just a little
bit in terms of like getting the screen game going,
running backs involved in the screen game.

Speaker 3 (24:56):
But do you feel like they could also do.

Speaker 4 (24:58):
A little misdirection as well to kind of uh take
away their linebackers and things like.

Speaker 3 (25:03):
That which you got to use. Well, I mean you
think that could work?

Speaker 7 (25:06):
How do I say this?

Speaker 9 (25:07):
So you shouldn't have one guy that really determines a
lot of the emotions and some of the stuff that
you do. But Turpin not being out there matters, and
there's not really anyone Even with Flinoy, they had him
doing some of the motions and stuff like that as well.

Speaker 5 (25:20):
This past game. There's not that many guys I think add.

Speaker 9 (25:23):
Up to a Turpin because of this, like the speed
and the respect and all that stuff.

Speaker 7 (25:27):
So I think you did.

Speaker 3 (25:29):
I think you I have seen in.

Speaker 9 (25:30):
The last game is that there was like a not
a downtick, but it's not as frequent they were using
Ryan Flenoy in some of those motion situations.

Speaker 5 (25:39):
He's not gonna get the same respect.

Speaker 9 (25:40):
He's not gonna get the same movement by those linebackers
as a Cavante Turpin would. So I think that that's
something they're gonna probably have to figure out later. But
for me, it also too. Is you mentioned the screen game.

Speaker 11 (25:51):
Shotty mentioned it.

Speaker 9 (25:52):
Shot He mentioned like he has to do more in
the screen game. That's something that Dallas says, Oh my god,
it's been a generation. You have to you have to generations,
you have to star, you have to wish upon to
start for a screen game.

Speaker 7 (26:06):
I'm serious, not for real, Like it's that fair. Chris Christy,
those of us grew up with Preston Pearson, and you know,
I'm right everyone over forty five.

Speaker 11 (26:17):
I'm screaming, I'm log.

Speaker 7 (26:22):
But but but to your point, don't worry, I'm kicking
her under the table.

Speaker 9 (26:28):
To your point, that is something that I was hoping
that Dallas would get going a little bit more even
last week. Now you are going up against and that's
why I was asking Case now, what's going on with
your second level, with your linebackers and stuff, Because when
you they got nuggets out there, we got nuggets out there.

Speaker 3 (26:44):
Sometimes nuggets make mistakes.

Speaker 9 (26:46):
I think Dallas can really take advantage of the screen
game in this game, and more importantly also to day,
corners don't like to tackle like that.

Speaker 3 (26:55):
Love me on JC. Horner came out, love love, leve me.

Speaker 5 (26:59):
Some JC, but he got that I'm avoiding this spirit.

Speaker 7 (27:03):
He not trying to making business decisions.

Speaker 3 (27:06):
He is not about to engage in that.

Speaker 9 (27:08):
And I think Dallas should be able to can run
at that side if they decide to run at that side,
And I think the screen game would be an awesome
way to do that. Try to get these guards, maybe
pull these tackles, somebody like a tear steel, pull these tackles,
get up on these linebackers and drive them the.

Speaker 3 (27:22):
Heck out of these plays.

Speaker 11 (27:24):
Hopefully Dallas can get it going.

Speaker 9 (27:25):
I think that's an important part of the game that
you're missing and teams are doing.

Speaker 5 (27:28):
It to you.

Speaker 11 (27:29):
Yeah, very much so. And you mentioned it just yesterday.

Speaker 8 (27:32):
There's a lot of similarities when you're looking at the
defense that they like to run.

Speaker 11 (27:35):
The Cowboys like to run.

Speaker 8 (27:36):
Their issues with the linebackers are issues.

Speaker 3 (27:39):
With the linebackers.

Speaker 8 (27:41):
They hit, they hit us hit them back, very similar
Like what you said looking in the mirror is very
much so please, I was gonna do it right.

Speaker 3 (27:50):
Oh we can't.

Speaker 11 (27:52):
It was only a couple of stands right, jail every week.

Speaker 3 (27:55):
It's fine, it's crazy.

Speaker 4 (27:56):
Anyways, Christy, what are you looking for out of this matchup?
You're gonna be on the sidelines. What's something that you're
kind of looking for out of this Cowboys?

Speaker 3 (28:03):
I'll stick with offense.

Speaker 7 (28:05):
Offense, Yeah, sticking to the run game. But I also
think that they can hit him with with the big plays.
Talk about really do I really do that? The why
I ask Casey about the lack of pass rush, I'm sorry,
five sacks and four games in five games. They just
they're just not getting pressure and if they try and

(28:28):
generate it with the blitz. We've been talking about it
for the past few weeks. You had the numbers last week, Nicole,
or if not before, how effective Dak has been against it.
So I see one of these games where you know,
you kind of like small bites, small bites, small bites, run, run, run, run,
and then hit them. Yeah, that's that's what I see
for this game.

Speaker 3 (28:48):
What about defense?

Speaker 7 (28:50):
Defense? Is Bryce Young is gonna gonna give you the ball?

Speaker 3 (28:53):
Yep?

Speaker 7 (28:55):
No, he is he is four turnovers last year two
when they played him two years ago, and it's been
an issue again for him this year. So uh, you know,
it's hard to throw stones at the Panthers pass rush
when the Cowboys hadn't done much of it until last week.
But you get enough on him, and I know that

(29:17):
people say Bryce Young, oh, he's he's a little guy,
until you're on the field and you look out there
and it's like, oh my gosh. He he literally disappears
in the huddle. He's so he's such a small guy.
And so you know, just getting your hands up and
Pbu's right. Pass breakups balls, yeah, get you get you

(29:38):
get those bad at balls. You know, if the ball
hadn't hit the sky cam last week, I thought, yeah,
if Dante Fowler taking it off the face mask and
the ball went straight in the air, and if it
hadn't hit the skycam, I mean Kenny Clark really might
have had to play on that ball, you know. So yeah,
that's that's another way with with Bryce Young is is

(29:58):
if you can't get to him, at least get your
hands up and possibly get a bat at ball PBu
and maybe it'll fall into your teammate's hands.

Speaker 4 (30:07):
All right, we're gonna pick our second break here on
Girls Talk, Boys Talk up. Next, we're diving into our
farmer's dog dog of the game.

Speaker 3 (30:14):

will be very back when we're girls dog boys talk.

Soon, ladies, we need our Farmer's dog doll of the game.
Was that better? Josh? That was better? That was great?
That was lovely? All right? That woof for wo.

Speaker 8 (33:22):
That is not intimidating answers at all.

Speaker 3 (33:27):
I need.

Speaker 4 (33:27):
There we go, We'll practice that it still news this
fresh start, all right, ladies, the Farmer's Dog Dog.

Speaker 3 (33:36):
Because the game.

Speaker 8 (33:39):
I'm gonna start with, I'm doing Kenny Clark because I
was in the locker room Wednesday Thursday, and I promise
you the question that came up to every single player
was about the little sound bite from Rico o'dowdell talking
about buckle up. And everybody was like, we know Rico,
he's a competitor. That's just how he is.

Speaker 11 (33:59):
You know.

Speaker 3 (33:59):
Sam william made a joke about he's like, oh yeah.

Speaker 11 (34:02):
He talked like that all the time.

Speaker 3 (34:03):
You guys never heard it.

Speaker 8 (34:04):
But Kenny Clark obviously didn't play here with Rigo, and
he said he counted him a little bit. He said,
I don't think he's seen the tape. I don't think
he knows what he's going up against, but let's see
what he can do. And I was like, okay, So
I feel like, if you talk like that in a
locker room, you got to shut down this man.

Speaker 11 (34:17):
Who just had a two hundred plus yard setting records.

Speaker 3 (34:21):
So I'm going to Kenny Clark, who wants to go next.

Speaker 7 (34:23):
I'm gonna go defensive line, just like Brie. But I'm
gonna go to Davion Clowney, who grew up just a
half hour from Charlotte and Rockport. And a fun fact,
his mama worked over twenty years in Charlotte at the
Free Doo lay factory sponsor and on the Dorito's machine.

(34:43):
I'm like my dreads my dream job. Can you He
said she'd bring home Doritos every day. But anyway, we
talked about taking the ball away from Bryce Young and
he'll give it up and pass breakups whatever. I think
that the past rush can get it after him, and
especially if they're without Moten Casey talked about they'll know

(35:05):
later today if they're going to have the right tackle.
So I'm gonna I'm gonna go with Clowning and maybe
get some free to Rito's from his mom.

Speaker 3 (35:12):
You want whatever? You want to go? Free food?

Speaker 11 (35:15):
Alright?

Speaker 3 (35:15):
We love free food. Do you want to go? You
want me to go?

Speaker 5 (35:17):
You can go?

Speaker 3 (35:18):
Are you sure?

Speaker 7 (35:18):
I'm thinking?

Speaker 3 (35:19):
Really? Figure over here?

Speaker 6 (35:20):
All right?

Speaker 3 (35:21):
You all ready for minds? Usually I stick with the
defensive line. I was right last year. Let me last week.
I'm going with Mary's Leo.

Speaker 11 (35:37):
We was on it last week.

Speaker 4 (35:38):
Yeah, I've been working on I mean, obviously with Jack
Sanbourne possibly still going to be in concussion protocol, they've
been seeing obviously in practice it's been Kenneth Murray who
Matt Eberflu's confirmed he will be moving inside playing the
mic and you'll have you know, Shamar James Mary's leafel
getting some more opportunities there and he had a crucial

(35:58):
force fumble punching the.

Speaker 3 (36:00):
Ball out last week. Obviously the Cowboys were able to
go turn and turn that into points. Hello, we love that.

Speaker 4 (36:06):
So yeah, I think that Mayors is gonna bring that physicality,
that violence and create a turnover. I think that's I'm
expecting that out of Marish what you got huh Yeah,
I think I think I'm gonna go with this, this
is what you're thinking.

Speaker 9 (36:24):
I think I'm gonna go with Dron Bland or Trayvon
Dis whatever way it works out against McMillan.

Speaker 11 (36:31):
I'm hoping that one of those gentlemen can.

Speaker 5 (36:35):
Be themselves them old selves, their old selves again.

Speaker 9 (36:38):
I remember we used to look at matchups between digs,
especially with some of these big, lengthy, you know, receivers,
and we would think that that was that would cancel
each other out in a sense, let's see what they've got.
Let's see what bland god against mc millan.

Speaker 3 (36:51):
We've already talked about how he has been.

Speaker 9 (36:53):
You know, Tim McMillan has been such a big part
of their offense from you know, the wide receiver position.
So I'm looking at these corners to try to make
some plays on the ball, and I kind of want
to see them get back to their whole self, you know,
take some risks, makes some take some chances.

Speaker 7 (37:09):
So we'll see. We all went defense interesting cocting.

Speaker 11 (37:12):
I guess the first time we get ho home home,
we can split. Well, I know we can.

Speaker 5 (37:18):
Lose, Yeah, lose, we desire, We've gone through a lot.

Speaker 11 (37:25):
I'm not I'm not gonna feel sorry for you one.

Speaker 5 (37:28):
Being confident about the confident about the offense.

Speaker 11 (37:31):
Shoot tune that down.

Speaker 7 (37:32):
I know, I really do think that that this is
going to be a big play game. Was explosive small, small,
small bites, and Dack's leading the league in big play
passes twenty five plus yards already fourteen and five games.
I mean, heck, it's awesome not to mention the explosive
runs from Javonte Williams, so.

Speaker 11 (37:51):
A big sure.

Speaker 8 (37:51):
I think the win means a little bit more now
if you're looking at the standings, I mean, the Commanders
are a game away from the Eagles, We're right behind.
Whatever that Commanders can do that can change what this
whole And if the East looks like after this week,
absolutely one just became that much more important.

Speaker 4 (38:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (38:06):
Yeah, and the good news is we don't live in Philly.
What a terrible day the Phillies with an error and losing,
the Dodgers losing the series, and yeah, my innings and
then uh and the I mean the Giants dominated him
last time.

Speaker 14 (38:22):
Yeah, I slept well, I'm sorry, I was just baffled,
but I would I've been looking at because Jackson Dartist
is he's interesting.

Speaker 7 (38:33):
He's got that city on fire.

Speaker 11 (38:35):
You guys see him high five the ref.

Speaker 5 (38:37):
Yes that I couldn't believe you didn't give a flag
such a child.

Speaker 9 (38:40):
But uh, but no, no, I mean to your point
of Bridge is talking about the division.

Speaker 5 (38:46):
I mean, don't nobody look like they are just dominant.

Speaker 11 (38:50):
Everyone's figuring things out.

Speaker 3 (38:52):
Absolutely.

Speaker 5 (38:53):
Every team has their weaknesses.

Speaker 9 (38:54):
Every team is trying to battle through injuries and stuff
like that. And that's why I'm hoping if Dallas gets
his win. You already know what you kind of got offensively. Man,
If Dallas has the opportunity, I let's go get it.

Speaker 7 (39:08):
Ain't nobody scary.

Speaker 5 (39:10):
Ain't nobody scary for real, Let's go get it.

Speaker 11 (39:12):
And you know so, I mean, there's a couple of
sleeper teams.

Speaker 9 (39:14):
I think the Bucks are you know, yeah, they I
think the Bucks can play.

Speaker 3 (39:18):
But I but I agree.

Speaker 7 (39:20):
I think we're at the point.

Speaker 9 (39:21):
It's early in the season, but some of these things
that happened early in the season they carry over.

Speaker 3 (39:27):
And I think I agree with you, Brie.

Speaker 5 (39:28):
I was looking at that game like.

Speaker 3 (39:32):
I'll sip in my teeth.

Speaker 9 (39:35):
All yeah, they got some trouble and paradise down there
up there.

Speaker 11 (39:39):
I don't feel sorry for.

Speaker 7 (39:42):
That's the first time Philly and Paradise have ever been
used in the same sentence.

Speaker 5 (39:46):
I'm screaming, she needs to which the door.

Speaker 3 (39:52):
It was to me today, I get to stay today.
When you say something, I'm not I love Philly, No
I do.

Speaker 7 (39:59):
It's like the as long as it's a passionate fan base.
I mean, that's what Because you can feel the energy
on the sideline, and you can also feel the lack
of energy on the sideline and Brie. I know you
can feel it too at these away games. And so
that's what you know going back to last Sunday's when
at the Jets, is those two crucial drives the offense

(40:22):
getting those two touchdowns late in the second quarter just
suck the energy out of the Jets fans in that
building and you just felt everything turn. Then. The thing
about Carolina is they're going to be so many Cowboys fans.
That's what I was about to say this everywhere. Just
remember you know, Carolina wasn't even a franchise until ninety five,

(40:44):
and so there is a huge swath of Cowboy fans
through the South. And the fact that the Cowboys have
played there three times, this will be three times in
three consecutive years to play at a non division opponent
very unusual. I can tell you that the ticket prices
are really high on this game. They're they're like over
one hundred dollars more than they were for the previous

(41:07):
home game for the Panthers. And it's because it's the Cowboys.
So yeah, they can make this. The team get off,
the Cowboys get off to a decent start, and this
will be another Cowboy fan takeover of the stadium if
they get off to a good start.

Speaker 4 (41:21):
Am I ready for the best part of the show.

Speaker 3 (41:23):
Yes, it's not the best, but it is fun.

Speaker 11 (41:26):
It's all God. I'm waiting.

Speaker 7 (41:28):
Come, bullseye or bus?

Speaker 3 (41:32):
Are you already?

Speaker 2 (41:33):
Yeah?

Speaker 11 (41:33):
Yeah, let's do this.

Speaker 3 (41:34):
Dak Prescott throws for over three hundred and twenty five yards.
Bulls are bust.

Speaker 5 (41:38):
It's gonna be a bus for me.

Speaker 11 (41:39):
I think they gonna run the ball they pass ball.
I gets a bus because I want to see them
run bust.

Speaker 3 (41:47):
All right, great, Bullseye or bust.

Speaker 4 (41:51):
Javonte Williams becomes the first back to the season to
rush for one hundred plus yards on Carolina's deepens.

Speaker 3 (41:56):
Is he rushing for over one hundred?

Speaker 11 (41:58):
That's fante. I'm gonna go bullseye, Avante, It's possible.

Speaker 3 (42:03):
I think I'm.

Speaker 7 (42:04):
Gonna go, like yeah, if we're gonna they hit Dak
is three twenty.

Speaker 11 (42:07):
Five and then something come somewhere else.

Speaker 7 (42:09):
Yeah, yeah, I expect.

Speaker 5 (42:10):
I expect for Dallas to be balanced.

Speaker 3 (42:12):
Yeah, I expect for them to be balanced.

Speaker 4 (42:13):
I'm gonna go, yeah, bullseye or bus. Bryce Young is
held under one hundred and seventy five passing yards Bullseye
or bus You.

Speaker 7 (42:26):
Know, I think I'm gonna go bust on that, just
because I think at the end, maybe some well hopefully
the Cowboys can get up on get up and make
them throw the ball a lot.

Speaker 3 (42:37):
Yeah, that's what I was thinking.

Speaker 7 (42:38):
So so I I think I may go bust but
in a good way, in a good way, make make
them have to play from behind and get get some
junk yards.

Speaker 11 (42:48):
Yeah, like put a little respect on mister little.

Speaker 4 (42:53):
That's it, all right, Bullseye or bust Ryan for the
nooy Tops.

Speaker 9 (43:00):
Twelve catches, twelve catches double in this, Okay, I'm gonna
have to bust on that one.

Speaker 11 (43:09):
I hope, I really do.

Speaker 9 (43:11):
Hope his consistency continues and it's not like that one
big game and then it goes back but doubling of
this crazy work. See if he if he did that,
then what Brees said earlier this week about the Cowboys
liking coupons and stuff would be a little bit more
prevalent for me.

Speaker 11 (43:27):
And I don't feel like dealing with that.

Speaker 9 (43:30):
Because I feel like if he goes out there and
do that, they're gonna be like, you're gonna hear Jerry
George pickenso nobody has tip of that, nobody else at
the end of this season. I can't wait for that,
for that a little bit, because we just his agent
and who's else agent?

Speaker 11 (43:48):
Who's not here anyway? Times should be.

Speaker 8 (43:50):
Fun no stop, no imagine even calling him seeing that
name on you.

Speaker 11 (43:55):
Know what, that's another story for We're gonna let are
you ready?

Speaker 3 (43:59):
You got to take over?

Speaker 11 (44:00):
Okay?

Speaker 3 (44:00):

We can't sleep on the Panthers home crowd though, because
they just came back from a seventeen nothing deficit, and
Shottenheimer said they play their best game at home. It's
only where their two wins come from. So I mean
their season. You they're two and three.

for real because they I don't think, they don't know,
have a real identity.

Speaker 11 (46:10):
Figuring that out as a demer.
