Welcome to the Girls Talk Boys Talk, presented by in
Basineline in the SWBC studio. I'm Nicole Hutchinson alongside Breonna Aldrige,
Aisha Morrison.
Speaker 5 (00:42):
Ladies, what's happing morning?
Speaker 3 (00:44):
Good money up there? It is?
Speaker 4 (00:48):
We always know you're on time, right on time. Just
like this practice report, We're gonna get straight into it.
I usually what you got for this practice report?
Speaker 5 (00:54):
A lot of guys on that list.
Speaker 6 (00:56):
Ye, yes, first practice report came out. Yes, Tyler Guyton
did not practice with that ankle he injured in game.
Nate Thomas came in for him and feels like, you know,
we'll see how it goes, but I'm preparing my heart
to see Nate Thomas. Also, Diezua was did not practice
with an elbow. George Pickens with a knee slash calf
(01:17):
did not practice. Camante Turpin with a shoulder slash illness
did not practice. Jadeveon Clowney with a neck was limited,
Dante Fowler with the shoulder was limited, Malie Cooker with
a toe and a thigh was limited. Donovan Wilson with
a neck injury was limited, Dron Bland with the wrist
(01:37):
was full, James Houston with a wrist slash and he
was full. Hunter Lipkey with a hip injury was full,
Tyler Smith with the knee was full, and Solomon Thomas
with a calf was full.
Speaker 3 (01:47):
I was surprised.
Speaker 6 (01:49):
I was surprised he I'm surprised that he's coming back
from this calf is like what he's progressing as well
as fast as he is.
Speaker 4 (01:56):
Yeah, yesterday, well, first we are taking calls one eight,
five five, I have two two nine seven.
Speaker 5 (02:01):
Today's Tuesday. Y'all know the drill, call us beat bus
if y'all want.
Speaker 3 (02:04):
To reach us.
Speaker 5 (02:05):
But no, I know.
Speaker 4 (02:08):
Shotty was asked about, you know, just current injury updates, uh,
yesterday in the press conference, and he basically mentioned I
want to wait to see guys moving around a little
bit more today.
Speaker 5 (02:18):
Yesterday was more so like a walk through practice just.
Speaker 4 (02:22):
Because they did just play a whole game, literally full
four quarters of a game against the Eagles. So hopefully
we will find some more news out. But Tyler Guiden,
he did say, is the biggest question mark heading into
this Chiefs game. How would you, ladies assess the way
that Tyler Guiden has played this season?
Speaker 5 (02:40):
Obviously he had those two penalties.
Speaker 4 (02:45):
Last week, but I felt like, you know, this season,
he's kind of he's improved.
Speaker 5 (02:49):
He's improved a.
Speaker 7 (02:50):
Lot, which y'all think, Yeah, I would agree the improvement.
I think the biggest thing they were looking for from
him in year two is being more consistent, and I
feel like he has done that. You see him, you know,
taking some losses over there every once in a while.
Penalties it's not as high as last year, but he's
you know, that's still a thing to talk about.
Speaker 3 (03:13):
But I would say overall.
Speaker 7 (03:14):
If you're looking from year one and year two, the
biggest thing is he has been more consistent. If you
get into all the PFF grades and such, it has
improved as well. To you if you want to get in.
I know everyone has their opinions on those actual grades,
but there it's better, is it his best.
Speaker 3 (03:30):
No, but it's what is my favorite word, serviceable. Yeah.
I'm not gonna die when I'm out there. Yeah, what
we say that in football, he's not gonna get you killed.
I mean that's what she's true.
Speaker 6 (03:44):
And and well, I think he's gotten better than I uh,
then he's not gonna get you killed. I feel like
his hand tech has really improved, just his striking and
when he contacts, he's less reactionary this year.
Speaker 3 (03:55):
I want to say, well, yeah.
Speaker 6 (03:57):
He's less reactionary and he's more so being, you know,
the initiator of contact. I think also to one thing
I think he's done better this year is recovering and
countering in rep You know, sometimes you know there's defensive
ends and you know, speed rushers and stuff, they'll throw
three you know, well, the good ones we'll throw two,
three different moves at you in within a pass rush.
Speaker 3 (04:19):
I think he's learning and picking.
Speaker 6 (04:20):
Up tendencies a little bit better and also recovering better.
He's always had the foot quickness, but I think his
hands and what he's doing with his hand technique is
a little bit better in recovering.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
And in the run game.
Speaker 6 (04:32):
He got some nasty to him you know, the run
game is not his That was not really what he
was known for coming into the NFL. You know, most
people looked at him as a better pass protector. But
one thing that I will say is in the run game,
he wants to finish guys better. I think he's initially
he initially contacts better. I think he's latching on better
and driving better. So I feel like he has made
(04:54):
improvements more than anything to me in the run game
and the attitude that he has in.
Speaker 3 (04:59):
The run game physicaliti overall.
Speaker 6 (05:01):
Yeah, yeah, I think he's He's not well first of all.
Speaker 2 (05:03):
Too.
Speaker 3 (05:04):
Yeah, Tyler guying is funny if you watch him, oh Field,
I'm just thinking about the clip in my head, y'all.
He'd be antagonizing people.
Speaker 6 (05:13):
I bet you he's I bet you he is a
handful to line up again because.
Speaker 3 (05:17):
He'd be talking. He's chirpy. He does little chippy stuff.
Speaker 6 (05:22):
But you know what, a lot of the best offensive
linemen have little things that they do. They can get
under guy's skin. He knows how to get under guy's skin.
He got some Draymond spirit to him.
Speaker 5 (05:31):
Put on a performance against the Raiders.
Speaker 4 (05:33):
I think it was that game where he had that
flop or just like fell back, I said.
Speaker 5 (05:37):
Boy can act?
Speaker 3 (05:39):
Going on the boy can act.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (05:43):
Tyler Guyan so far.
Speaker 4 (05:44):
This season has played the third most past blocks of course,
twenty six QB pressures, three sacks allowed on his one
on one percentage win rate is eighty two percent, So.
Speaker 5 (05:55):
Definitely up there in that aspect.
Speaker 4 (05:57):
But Nate Thomas is certainly going to have to fill
in that role come Thursday against the Chiefs. Just talk
about Nate Thomas. We have talked about a little bit.
But what are you getting more out of Nate Thomas
that you don't necessarily get out of a Tyler Goiden.
Speaker 8 (06:14):
More?
Speaker 3 (06:14):
Yeah, yeah, what'd you think more?
Speaker 5 (06:18):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (06:19):
I think you get a little bit more power.
Speaker 6 (06:22):
But that's that's the extent of it for me as
of right now. Just because I thought that Nate Thomas
as he filled in last week well on Sunday, Man,
this is so many days so close together. Yes, I
think I thought he filled in. Well, he had a
couple of times where his his foot quickness isn't So
that's that's what I would say, Like his foot quickness
(06:43):
isn't what Tyler guidens is. It's not it's not what
his is. But I think that Nate Thomas in the
run game does have a little bit more power. I
think he has a little bit stronger core strength to
deal with some of those rushers and like to sit
down and anchor a little bit better than.
Speaker 3 (06:57):
What Tyler Gotton does.
Speaker 6 (06:58):
He relies on a lot of his athletic ability to
help him win reps. But other than that, Nate Thomas
needs to get the experience.
Speaker 3 (07:06):
He needs to get the experience.
Speaker 6 (07:07):
I mean, I don't like that Guidance is injured, but
at the same time, this is going to give us
another look at Nate Thomas and kind of know what
we have on that offensive line when it comes to
the tackle position.
Speaker 4 (07:18):
Sir, He's only played like one hundred and twenty two
offensive snaps, so but you have enjoyed the fact that
he can come in and instantly feel that role.
Speaker 5 (07:26):
Like you don't feel like a major drop off.
Speaker 4 (07:29):
He hasn't played that many offensive snaps. But there's another
guy on that list who I hope and pray, good
Lord football Gods and the real God that George Pickens
is okay, because definitely do not want to see him
on that.
Speaker 5 (07:42):
Practice sport today. But are there any concerns there?
Speaker 7 (07:45):
I think it's I mean, it's everything is more concerning,
if you will, because it's a short week. But I
think from what Schottenheimer said yesterday, like you mentioned, the
only one that's really trending toward it's not being on
that field as of yesterday is Tyler Guyan. It didn't
seem and just think about who GP is. I don't
(08:08):
see that being if he's injured.
Speaker 3 (08:10):
I don't know if I'm gonna love it.
Speaker 7 (08:11):
I think he'll play through it, but I know we're
gonna get into the chief side. They got some banged
up guys too, so it's gonna look like a couple
of guys banged up going had to head Thursday night.
Speaker 3 (08:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (08:20):
They To your point about George Pickens, it's so funny
because everybody wants a two handed to it, like a
sure handed receiver.
Speaker 3 (08:28):
The downside about that is he'd be.
Speaker 6 (08:30):
Holding on to that ball so hard he let his
head break his fall. Sometimes he let his shoulders. There's
times on those slaants where he gets tackled, y'all, and
he's just falling directly on his shoulders and stuff because
he ain't letting go of the ball. He's not trying
to brace himself like this and stuff.
Speaker 3 (08:45):
So that's what happened on that.
Speaker 6 (08:47):
Play, is that he didn't brace himself. He had two
hands on the ball and he kind of hit his shoulder.
He kind of he just I just didn't like the
way he went down in general, so he probably just
got a little You know.
Speaker 4 (08:57):
What scares me is when he be like catching the
ball down with one hand and then be stretching.
Speaker 3 (09:01):
Like this, what are we doing?
Speaker 6 (09:03):
The players on the players, no, you're the players on
side of the sideline was.
Speaker 3 (09:06):
Like, don't do that.
Speaker 5 (09:08):
Don't do that. But he had a good grip though,
No he did.
Speaker 7 (09:11):
Don't do it.
Speaker 3 (09:11):
Some guys don't have a good grip. He had a
good videoing that all off season.

Welcome Back in a girlstalg Woarstalk presented by and Visiline
and e SWBC Studio. Nicole had to sit on Aldridge.
Ayisha Morrison, y'all know the drill. We got Aoisha's insights. Hello,
talking Kansas City Chiefs Thanksgiving Day. This Kansas City Chiefs offense.
What is looking like over there?
Speaker 3 (12:14):
Well, it doesn't look bad, but it looks different, just
like the team that was in the Super Bowl.
Speaker 6 (12:21):
To look the different important we always talk about the
offensive line. I think it's important to, you know, bring
up Trey Smith. Their guard is dealing with an ankle injury.
It sounds like he on a short week.
Speaker 3 (12:35):
May not be able to go. Bree, do you have
any insight on that man? Been banged up all season?
Speaker 6 (12:42):
He had.
Speaker 7 (12:44):
Back issue and now he had an ankle injury injury
this last game, so he had to come out. And
then now they're saying it's a low and high ankle spring.
So he's banged up in every which way. It's he's
trending to not play against the Cowboys at this point.
It seems silly for them for a team that is
desperate to be in the postseason, who obviously have a
(13:05):
higher chance of getting to the postseason than the Cowboys do.
Believe it's like forty this as of today, So I
would not imagine that they would try to throw in
their best offensive linemen against the Cowboys in a short
week with that's really three injuries you're talking about at
this point.
Speaker 3 (13:24):
He's he don't look great.
Speaker 6 (13:26):
Yeah, Well, it's interesting because their offensive line they have
allocated some resources too, and Josh Josh Simmons Sumatilla. I
just feel like there are I would expect for their
offensive line create Humphrey to be playing better.
Speaker 3 (13:43):
Than what they are right now.
Speaker 6 (13:46):
But it feels like they have really struggled to run
block like that's something that they have not.
Speaker 3 (13:51):
Done particularly well this year.
Speaker 6 (13:53):
And when you look at the quarterback, the quarterback had
a hell of a game on Sunday.
Speaker 3 (13:57):
I think this team goes very much so how the
quarterback goes.
Speaker 6 (14:02):
If the quarterback hasn't off like you remember when for Dallas,
if Dak has an off game, then they can't win games.
That's kind of how Kansas City is right now because
they are so heavily heavily reliant on their on their
passing game, and although their passing game is a pretty
good passing game, I'm not sure it's just you know,
(14:24):
just killing everybody out here. I will say when you
when you talk about the Chiefs, a lot of respect
for Indy Reid and what he does, a lot of
respect for Matt Naggy and what they do schematically there,
I expect for them to throw some things at Dallas
that maybe Dallas hasn't gotten to see quite yet. Their
their motions are very interesting in how they do things.
(14:47):
You know, sometimes they'll play ring around the rosie and
then be like, oh, we're in a formation now. Now,
some of that creativity has minimized with the injuries on
the offensive line, with the inability to run the ball
like they're having to kind of spread things out and
pass the ball. This is one of the leading offenses.
I think they're ninth in scoring in the NFL this year.
(15:07):
So they're gonna put up twenty five plus points, but
it's gonna be a lot of it in the air.
So this is a game where this Dallas secondary that
brig you mentioned struggled at the beginning of that game.
They maybe can't have that time those that slump like
come out slow, like Bree was talking about, where they're
not when they're not playing the past as well as
(15:29):
they need to, because that's what that's what they're chiefs
heavily rely right now here.
Speaker 4 (15:32):
You talk about them relying on their quarterback and their
play goes on their quarterback. Look at what Mahomes has
averaged three point two seconds to throw that's be sacked
or complete a scrambled, the longest in the NFL in
Week twelve, and that included, of course, twenty three plays
at three point five seconds or longer. That's the second
most for Mahomes's career in one hundred and forty four starts.
(15:55):
So they certainly do go as Mahomes goes. But he's
he's having a ma stuff stuff happened, absolutely happened to
make stuff happen because that run game struggling.
Speaker 5 (16:07):
Kareem Hunt.
Speaker 4 (16:07):
I believe he was the first one hundred yard rusher
last week against will not last week, but this past
week again folds and so yeah, I mean he's really
having to make stuff happen. What does that do for
this Cowboys defense? Granted we are hitting Astride they are
hitting a stride. But when you have a quarterback like that,
how difficult is that to defend?
Speaker 3 (16:28):
It's stressing.
Speaker 6 (16:29):
It's very stressing because you know, especially with Patrick Mahomes.
Speaker 3 (16:33):
I think something that stood out to me last on Sunday. Sorry, yeah,
it's something that stood out to me on Sunday.
Speaker 6 (16:41):
At outside of previous weeks is how willing he is
to scramble. It's not like and again he's so oh
my god. He kind of runs like pickens where it
looks like a kid that has something he's not supposed
to have, like.
Speaker 5 (16:53):
Just like some candy.
Speaker 4 (16:54):
Just just I mean, just like it's interesting in that
I just feel like he can get really elusive and
stuff through you know, the middle of the field.
Speaker 6 (17:03):
If he sees grass, he's gonna take it. And to
your point in the call, he is. Also he's not
he's not just running. He's looking to mask sometimes he is.
But last on Sunday he was like, I'm running the
ball right now. But how that affects the Dallas secondary
is that you gotta cover for a long time.
Speaker 3 (17:21):
Either you have to cover for a long time.
Speaker 6 (17:23):
Like Dallas has played a good mixed more of a
mixture of zone and man, he's one of those guys
that if you play man, it's gonna be difficult. I
wonder if we see even a spy, if that's something
again that we maybe get introduced again, maybe a Demarrian
over shown that deals with that, like, because he's a
guy that I feel like if Dallas decides to play
a little bit bit more man, which they have been
doing and mixing in some zone. This isn't a gentleman
(17:46):
that you can turn your back to because once you
turn your back to him, he recognizes that and he will,
you know, get extra yardage and hurts you with his legs.
Speaker 7 (17:55):
Patrick Mahomes or someone who I've been able to cover
the AFCs, he is someone that you just it's just
like manned because it's never over if there is time
on the clock. Okay, and Buffalo will tell you what
thirteen seconds it means to that fan base. That's what
it took for them from Patrick Holmes to go downfield
and take the Bills season to an end.
Speaker 3 (18:17):
But he is a scrambler.
Speaker 7 (18:21):
If you look at what he does ninety percent of
the time, if he's running to his right, he's gonna
throw the ball and he's scrambling on the road, I
swear I see something. I think he was playing like
Baltimore and he like it was like under the leg
to Kelsey and it.
Speaker 5 (18:35):
Was like, how does he do that?
Speaker 7 (18:36):
His His arm is not where most arms are for
quarterback when he's releasing the ball. And then again when
he's scrambling to the left, he's most likely running. And
I think for this game we're talking about a Trey Smith,
their right guard not being out. That's going to be
You're asking Patrick Mahomes to kind of do something a
little bit out of his wheelhouse.
Speaker 6 (18:52):
I think that'll be interesting because that means when he's
basically scrambling, he's going to have to push left a
little more and have to throw left. And that's not
if you watch ninety percent of his films when he's scrambling,
that's not where he likes to throw.
Speaker 3 (19:05):
It's on the other side.
Speaker 7 (19:06):
And I think it's going to be something noticeable because
like we're talking about Trade Smith not playing, it's going
to be a big deal. But when you're talking about
the offense, if you listen to Chiefs Radio, they're going
to tell you that this offense is down. And if
they're losing, it's because of the offense. All their five
losses have been by one score, so they've been in it,
(19:26):
and it's weird because the metrics in every single category
are better, substantially better than last and last year, but
it don't look like it, no, and they're not executing
when it matters. And I think that's the frustration from
that fan base because it is back to Mahomes and
it's not like his legacy is going over but I
know everyone over there is going downhill. But that's still
an elite QB who could do elite things. But I
(19:48):
think a lot of it has to do with Isaiah
p Cheko not being in there.
Speaker 3 (19:51):
That's huge, Yeah, it's huge.
Speaker 6 (19:52):
And then Kareem Hunt has come in and kind of
been in an elevated role, not not doing a lot
more than what I think he is expected to even
be doing coming out of you know, come out of retirement,
you know. But I just that's the important part about
it to your point, brit is their lack of run
game and consistent run game has hurt them. And then
when you start looking at their receivers and their options.
(20:15):
If I'm not mistaken, I think Rashid Rice is dealing
with a hamstring. He was limited yesterday in practice. That's
definitely something to keep an eye out on because to me,
he is their number one and although he does a
lot of play in the slot, he is not that
he can't go play out in the boundary.
Speaker 3 (20:31):
He's the biggest threat. Obviously.
Speaker 6 (20:33):
You talk about Worthy, and Worthy is a gentleman that
they will use as a rap runner. He's fine, he
has the speed, he can get behind guys, but he's
also a guy that they use their screen game and
they're you know, they're trying to get yards after catch
with him, They're trying to get him out in space.
Speaker 3 (20:48):
Travis kelce.
Speaker 6 (20:50):
I mean, brit Yea, I think you made a good
point when we were offline was that, you know, Travis
Kelcey is having to do so much and helping out
that right side of that offensive line that that is
kind of taken away from his offensive input. And then
you also mentioned how the elevated snaps he's seeing as well.
Speaker 7 (21:09):
Yeah, no, definitely, Like I think it was like eighty
two snaps last game for a tight end. That's kind
of crazy, but half almost half of those or no,
I should say I think about thirty something was run
blocking Travis Kelce, someone who you go to your third
down guy to make sure to extend plays.
Speaker 3 (21:26):
And make sure that drive stays alive. I mean, that's
a lot.
Speaker 7 (21:29):
He's getting older, and again you're coming in here on Thursday,
so you're having less time.
Speaker 3 (21:34):
To prepare your body and what have you. So yeah,
it takes a toll.
Speaker 7 (21:38):
And like, you know, we got some banged up guys,
Shotty said, you know, they know what they have on
their side. They're coming in banged upth so is the
chief So it's going to be interesting to see if
it's I don't know if it's going.
Speaker 3 (21:49):
To be like everybody looks slow slug is.
Speaker 7 (21:51):
Coming in, or like you mentioned, is it gonna be
third quarter where it just kind of starts to look
sloppy because everybody's beat up and tired.
Speaker 3 (21:57):
At that point.
Speaker 6 (21:57):
I definitely think I definitely think that's a possibility. But yeah,
the Chiefs are only about fourteenth in the league and
rushing yards per game just a little. It's about one
hundred and eighteen yards per game. One thing that does
stand out to them when you look at their stats, though,
is their time of possession that's something that they actually
thrive in. So to me, in this game, I think
defensively for Dallas, it's going to be important that they
(22:20):
do not allow Kansas City to dictate pacing. Like if
you allow Kansas City to dictate how fast you play,
when you can substitute keep you on the field for
extended drives, that's to me, that's when they feel most
under control. And to your point where you about Patrick
Mahomes is that he has that capability to take over
(22:42):
a game despite the fact, again, despite the fact that
this offense has been playing from behind a lot and
that they are maybe considered the weaker point of this team,
they still have championship experience. They do, and I know
that people don't want to hear that that matters, But
it comes to crush time. This is a big game
for Kansas City. They're fighting for playoff hopes as well.
(23:04):
They understand the gravity of this game, so I expect
the playoff atmosphere in this game.
Speaker 3 (23:10):
Patrick Mahomes probably does too.
Speaker 4 (23:12):
Yeah, you got some competitors over there, Yes, Patrick Mahomes,
Travis Kelce Xavier Worthy, even though like you know, he's
is battling that ankle injury. He was limited in practice.
Roushie Rice, all those guys over there too.
Speaker 5 (23:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (23:25):
One thing that I wrote down was the third down offense.
They're tenth in the NFL, converting on forty one percent.
Speaker 3 (23:30):
Of their drives.
Speaker 4 (23:31):
Of course you look at the numbers and Dallas is
dead last. But however, they have improved on third downs
first half. Don't say that but against Philly. But last
week in the second half you can see, you know,
the improvement there.
Speaker 5 (23:45):
How important will that aspect?
Speaker 4 (23:47):
I mean you kind of touched on a little bit
tie of possession, but getting off the field on third
down as well. And it all starts up front with
those guys and Quinn Williams in that defensive line.
Speaker 3 (23:55):
Don't be penalties that too, Dallas. Don't say something. I'm
just saying Philly, Philly didn't.
Speaker 6 (24:07):
Half of the drives that Philly had in the beginning
of that game were not because Dallas wasn't playing good defense.
They've had this problem where they first and second down,
they be killing.
Speaker 3 (24:16):
It, thirdy long next play and then it's.
Speaker 6 (24:21):
The team converts and a lot of the time it's
due to penalty. So this is not a team to
me that you can give again momentum based team, a
team that really thrives off.
Speaker 3 (24:33):
Of dictating pace.
Speaker 6 (24:36):
You gotta get them off the field when you have
an opportunity to get them off the field. So I'm
hoping that Dallas can be smarter with their decision making.
Stop lining up in the neutral zone. I know it's pretty.
Speaker 3 (24:48):
It looks close to the other players. That's crazy.
Speaker 5 (24:51):
Pretty, it's crazy.
Speaker 6 (24:52):
I know, it looks so appealing, the off sides and
things like that. Like it's just you know, I I
think they got they got reveled too, and I'm just like,
you know, they can be a little handsy. I want
them to contact these receivers. They got a lot of speed.
So Dallas is going to have to, you know, redirect
(25:14):
these these players. They're not going to be able to
just not put their hands on them at all. But like,
just don't be too grabby, play through the whistle. But
also to be smart because when you get a chance
to get this team off the field, you need to
take it. Yeah, that's the biggest thing for me, Like
stop getting penalties on third down.
Speaker 4 (25:31):
My god, I was looking at them, they laughing, sick,
they their possessions and it kind of looks a little
similar offensively, interception field goal, field goal, field goal, and
a lot of field goal, fumble, touchdown, punt, field goal,
field goal.
Speaker 5 (25:46):
So offensively, I mean, can't get them twisted.
Speaker 4 (25:50):
They will figure it out, hopefully not against Dallas, but
there's some opportunities across that offensive line that you know,
you can take advantage of.
Speaker 5 (25:58):
How realistic?
Speaker 4 (25:59):
Who has better matchup one on one? This is what
Iberfoos likes to do, is create one on one matchups.
Speaker 6 (26:04):
Now, I mean I would say would of course, I
would definitely attack that right side of that offensive line,
but Dallas will run some stunts.
Speaker 3 (26:12):
They will do some like in the rounds and stuff
like that.
Speaker 6 (26:15):
Especially with the interior being stronger, I think Dallas will
opt to take advantage of the right side of that
offensive line.
Speaker 3 (26:22):
I mean, it's not saying that the left.
Speaker 6 (26:23):
Side is like that much better, but yeah, so Jdeveon
Clowney comes to mind. Obviously, Quentin Williams comes to mind.
I mean, listen, that interior, whomever it is, whether it's
Quentin Williams, oh so Deezul whoever against Creed Humphrey is
about to be some wrestling because he's a fantastic center.
Speaker 3 (26:42):
It's one of the best in the league.
Speaker 6 (26:44):
We saw Dallas do even though Ready Stewart wasn't able
to get home. This is a quarterback again that you
gotta split up to speed up their clock, and you can't.
He's so slippery. If you are gonna blitz, you gotta
get there. You've got a short tackle. I thought that
Dallas tackle better this past.
Speaker 3 (27:04):
Game against Philly.
Speaker 6 (27:05):
If eba Flus does opt to bring some nickel blitzes
and some stuff like that, which is what he did
in this past game, then the guys gotta get there,
So Donovan Wilson, if it's Deron Bland that's blitzing Ready Stewart,
whomever it is, like, they gotta get there.
Speaker 7 (27:21):
Yeah, I'll be interested to see. We've been talking about
this five man in front so much. I'd be interested
to see how that plays in because this would seem
like a game where you wouldn't want to lean on
that as much, just because it does create more one
on ones when you talking about the second level, third level,
and I think when you got a monster like Travis Kelce,
that's something that maybe you don't want to see that much.
(27:42):
When you got some DBS trying to figure it out.
I think it made a lot of sense with Jalen Hurts,
we know passing game is not really where they've been
thriving this year. And again, even with that being said,
first thing, I think I even saw you tweet aj
Brown taking passes again, you know, against Dade Flipt You
know what I'm saying. So I'll be interested to see
what that game plan is. I do one hundred percent
(28:04):
think they'll have to have a spy like I.
Speaker 6 (28:06):
Don't think that's an option going to gainst Patrick Mahomes,
who literally plays better when he's on the scramble.
Speaker 4 (28:13):
What do y'all think when you look back at the
way Philly played Dallas offensively, what do you think the
Chiefs might take away from that game?
Speaker 6 (28:24):
Well, Philly decided they wanted to come out and attack
your young corners really quickly, Kaylyn Carson uh Savon Ravel.
They they wanted to attack them early, and I guess
it works. What what I think Philly thought they could
do was come out and do quick passes and to
you know, get their quick game kind of firing. And
(28:44):
that's what they were able to do. Dallas's defensive line
in the beginning of that game, like don't get it twisted.
The defense came out and was able to get more
pressure later in the game, but at the beginning of
that game, Dallas really there were times that Jalen was
back there.
Speaker 3 (28:57):
Chilling in the pocket. Back their chilling in the pocket.
Speaker 6 (29:01):
So if I'm the Chiefs, I'm thinking, if I can
you know, hold up in pass protection, which they are
one of the better teams in past protection, then they're
gonna think. To me, I think they're gonna think that
they can, you know, get some points. They're gonna be
able to pass the ball downfield. I do think that
this Dallas secondary has played better obviously, Malie Cooker, I
(29:23):
think being back has kind of helped a Durn blab.
But I will say I'm looking at them and I
would assume that they try to pass the ball downfield
as well. Yeah, I think when you're looking at what
this offense can do to a Dallas defense, it's gonna
be the high tempo and it's gonna be the short passes.
Speaker 7 (29:41):
This isn't they don't have the dudes the deep ball
like Dallas has where you gotta worry about a CD
in the George Pickens, who can pretty much ruin you downfield.
Patrick Mahome has one touchdown in the last three games.
He has three interceptions in the last three games. I
don't know what's going on, but I don't don't see
him hope because it feels like again and we got
(30:04):
to hope and pray every time because Dallas did give
up those chunk plays again, So I know that's something
they are susceptibul to. Don't matter who's out there, it
seems like. But I expect Patrick Mahomes to come up
there with his no huddle, having self and just making
the defense work.
Speaker 5 (30:20):
What's one matchup that y'all feel great about?
Speaker 3 (30:23):
Great about?
Speaker 5 (30:24):
Yep, I feel confident about.
Speaker 7 (30:26):
I mean, Quentin Williams told me what he could do
two weeks in row. He's coming off a career hy
what was it a pressures? Is that correct?
Speaker 5 (30:35):
Yes? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (30:36):
Sorry, yeah.
Speaker 7 (30:36):
I don't expect him to slow down and just to
hear the guys like I listened to Sam Williams post
with Isaiah talking to Kenny, hearing what he had to
say Domin Eziroky like everybody in two weeks, Quinnin Williams
has this defense believing in him, and even though he's
a veteran and you know you've seen what he can do,
(30:58):
it's huge that thirty.
Speaker 3 (31:01):
Your players, fourth of your players are.
Speaker 6 (31:04):
Buying into Quinn Williams right away and he's not just
talk and he backs it up.
Speaker 5 (31:10):
We don't, we we don't what is the word?
Speaker 3 (31:13):
Are we think? I'm thankful around I'm thankful. I think
that's a huge deal.
Speaker 7 (31:20):
And I expect him to really be a part to
show in making everyone again around him better and be
able to eat because I agree with you one hundred percent,
and the fact that it's got to start upfront, which
it has been, and it makes everybody else just look
that much better. So that's what I expect to see
from him.
Speaker 6 (31:38):
That made me happy to though it did like it
was cool to hear him, to hear the guys say
like he's the one that really bolstered them.
Speaker 3 (31:45):
And that's the thing about having you know a guy.
Speaker 6 (31:48):
A guy is that when when it's coming from a guy,
you're like, you know what, I see what this man
is doing on film.
Speaker 3 (31:56):
I see what he's doing on film. A matchup that
I love, babe.
Speaker 6 (32:02):
If they decide to roll Travis Kelcey out there to
try to chip Donovan's ROCKU have fun brother, no offense
to Travis Kelce.
Speaker 4 (32:11):
You know, we know he's one of the greats and
all that stuff. It's too late to know if not
be I mean, Donovan's Rock just don't care about tight
ends these days.
Speaker 6 (32:20):
I just don't know if that's the best idea for
them to be trying to do that. And I know
this is random, but I'm not in the move for
Hollywood Brown either. I'm not in the move for him
because don't get a twist that I understand. We talked
about their offense kind of struggling. He's kind of a
wild car you know who and rhymes me of Windo
(32:41):
Robinson from the Giants and remember.
Speaker 3 (32:44):
What people was like, who is this man? He's so random?
Speaker 6 (32:50):
He leads their team, he leads the Chiefs in receiving,
like he's I mean again, like their offense is so
sporadic that you can't really put your finger on Like,
I guess who's the number one again, I'm saying Rashi
Rice because they was.
Speaker 3 (33:03):
Weeping and stuff waiting for him to come back.
Speaker 6 (33:06):
But Hollywood Brown is kind of a wild card, and
some of his usages in the slot, They'll put him
in motion. He's a guy that can definitely, he's shifty
and sometimes the Dallas corner struggle with that.
Speaker 3 (33:17):
I'm not in the mood for him to either.
Speaker 5 (33:19):
One of them. One of them. It's fine, it's gonna
come out eventually. One of the match.
Speaker 4 (33:24):
Shups that I'm looking forward to is obviously they like to,
you know, match up Travis Kelcey everywhere on the field,
but if they try to go against our linebackers, our
linebackers have been covering very much, so much better the
last couple of weeks. Obviously, we talked about it all
the time at nauseum because they have a pass rush.
But you know, just hearing quinnin Williams tell Demo when
(33:44):
he said, Ron got you, they gotta block me, like
you're gonna be free. So knowing the fact that these
linebackers are now having free rush lanes, free ability to
cover guys, now like, that's a matchup I'm looking forward
to for Shure.
Speaker 5 (33:57):
Yeah, I think that's a possibility.
Speaker 3 (33:58):
No, No, I go a lot more, you know, I agree.
Speaker 6 (34:00):
With That's something that when you asked earlier, I thought
about what would I expect for them to try to
do to Dallas. Most teams are trying to come out
and attack your linebackers. They're trying to make your linebackers
have to come out. They're doing really quick screen screen passes,
swing passes into the flat and stuff. The Dallas linebackers
have not necessarily defended the flats that well throughout the season.
(34:24):
I think you do get a little bit better there
with a de Marion over shown he made some good
tackles in that short part of the field. But I
agree with you Kareem Hunter is on the average in
about three point nine yards of carry. He's taking on
a lot of a load, you know, And I think
that wear and tear, especially in a short week. To
your point where it's something that we can expect now.
Speaker 3 (34:45):
Is but Cheko expected to He's back at practice.
Speaker 7 (34:48):
But it doesn't look like because again kind of like
what Shoddy said about the Diggs being the short week
kind of thing. It seems like I doubt it because
they have been elevating. They have one more elevation to
Clyde Edward de Laer, who did two games already. I
would expect him to come in again for Dallas to
be that number two guy if needed, they have another guy.
(35:10):
They haven't really been playing a ton, so technically they
have two other options outside of Kreem Hunt. And like
Kareem Hunt has been taking a lot the bulk of
it since Pacheco is out, so I would assume that
they would kind of say Pachecko on their back pocket. Again,
this is a team who's their postseason hopefuls, right, you
got to think ahead as well on this on this
(35:31):
short week, But I don't.
Speaker 3 (35:32):
I don't think Check will be out there. I'd be surprised. Okay,
that's good to know.
Speaker 6 (35:36):
The only other guy that really makes me a little
tight is Taekwan Thornton.
Speaker 3 (35:41):
Forgot about Thornton.
Speaker 6 (35:42):
Yeah, he's he's kind of their deep ball guy. And
I don't know, I don't know if people don't.
Speaker 3 (35:49):
Expect him to be a deep ball guy, I.
Speaker 6 (35:53):
Don't know, but it's it seems like when when he
gets behind people and he's able to separate a little
bit more, I think he extends really well, Yes, some
good length.
Speaker 3 (36:02):
That's a part of their game that you know.
Speaker 6 (36:04):
If they decide to be explosive and decide to try
to get some exposive players are in the air, which
I think they might have to if Dallas shuts down
the run that I like you just talk about.
Speaker 3 (36:12):
I think Dallas is going to play the run.
Speaker 6 (36:14):
Pretty well against them, then yeah, expect for them to
air it out.
Speaker 3 (36:19):
And Thornton is a guy that I.
Speaker 6 (36:20):
Expect to see a part of that, you know, attempt
to air it out.
Speaker 3 (36:24):
I'm gonna say attempt at this point. Sunday he only
had one target Sunday. It's too many.
Speaker 7 (36:30):
There's a lot of different people who have different skills
that I feel like to your point, it's what is
Patrick Mahomes going to do? Because he doesn't have to
me right away. I guess they have people who can
do the deep ball, but they don't really have like
that go to fotball guy. Yes, it's not what this
offense is about. And when you take out you know,
(36:52):
for Checko, you just you decimated what this offense is
doing because now you're becoming a little bit more predictable.
So if a team can figure out how to slow
down your tempo, your slants, your Travis Kelce right there,
it's kind of hindering the execution again. So they're in
the metrics. It's very confusing. If you look at the
metrics like they're killing it. And then I just told
(37:14):
you that Patrick Mahome has only thrown one touchdown in
the last three games. He has more interceptions and touchdowns.
It's just but if you look at overall, I think
it's been a little bit of drop the last few weeks.
And again who's been out, Like I keep saying, who's
been out with the checko.
Speaker 3 (37:28):
But if you look at because I had to.
Speaker 7 (37:29):
Make this graphic for our game day, his stats, if
you're looking him and DAK, they're very similar. DAK is
like a little bit ahead, barely in every category. Completion
rate DAK sixty nine point three, Mahomes sixty four point
four yards per attempt, DAK seven point four Mahome seven
(37:51):
point three touchdowns DAK twenty three, Mahomes eighteen interceptions at
seven for both of them are at the same QBR
rating for DAK one O two point six, uh Mahomes
ninety three point eight.
Speaker 3 (38:04):
So they're very like the tixtics.
Speaker 7 (38:06):
But it's like this is obviously overall, if you look
at the last three games, it's pretty obvious.
Speaker 3 (38:12):
That the Chiefs are are struggling. Yeah, they line with it.
When I looked at the stats. I was confused too, because.
Speaker 6 (38:19):
When I looked, I looked at the film before I
looked at the stats, and I said, Hm, what's going
on here? Oh, they just passing a whole bunch. Oh,
they're trying to come back in games. Oh they're like
and again they they're struggling in the red zone. I
don't know why I didn't get their red zone percentage,
but they're struggling to put up point like to when
they're in the red zone and they're playing from behind
in some of these games.
Speaker 3 (38:39):
And like you said, I thought there was a good point.
Speaker 6 (38:41):
Is that that's you know last week, last week Sunday
was the only game that they have won that's.
Speaker 3 (38:45):
Within one score yep this season.
Speaker 6 (38:48):
And this is again a team that you look at
as a team that can finish, that can close.
Speaker 3 (38:53):
But I that's it looks like a lot of last year.
Speaker 7 (38:56):
But the difference is those they had so many mirror
games last year. I think they started the season off
by beating Baltimore with a toe, but with the toe
somebody's shoe barely hidden.
Speaker 3 (39:07):
And then they just kept.
Speaker 7 (39:08):
Going on this crazy run where they were coming down
to a field goal, coming down to the final seconds
and again they've all those games that they've lost has
been by one score, so they're in every game. The
difference between this year and last year is just not
going their way at the end.
Speaker 5 (39:23):
They were eleven to zero in one score games last year.
Speaker 3 (39:27):
That's crazy, but I think it's cast to do.
Speaker 6 (39:29):
What y'all were saying is that they don't have It
doesn't feel like they have set roles for set guys
outside of a Kelsey, everybody else is kind of like
a homes go make some magic, and he's been able
to do that thus far enough to get them to
the Super Bowl last It's like being multiple is a
good thing and a bad thing for them because you
do need This is who I'm going to right now.

Let's not saying you thanks for calling us.
Speaker 13 (42:42):
Of course, love the show. I watch it well, listen
to it every day. I got a questions maybe for
all of you guys, But Ayisha was talking about it
back in the draft with Kyle Yehmans and Brian brought
us and such about Booker and we just haven't heard
much about him. And I'm assuming that's a good thing
because he seems like a grand fan grown out there
(43:03):
and just flip an ass and I'll.
Speaker 7 (43:05):
Take your guy.
Speaker 13 (43:06):
Good girls thoughts off. Aaron have a great.
Speaker 4 (43:08):
Thing the recalling man.
Speaker 3 (43:10):
Yeah, that is that's so crazy because I hadn't thought
about it. We really don't talk about it that much.
Speaker 5 (43:16):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (43:17):
Nah. Yeah, and that is it with an offensive lineman.
That is a good thing. That Yeah, we are talking
about you.
Speaker 4 (43:26):
He's only giving up the second or least amount of
uh what's it called pressure?
Speaker 5 (43:33):
Sorry I couldn't, I was trying to calculate.
Speaker 4 (43:35):
Yeah, he's the second least amount of pressures amongst the
offensive line this year and the second least amount of
sack percentage as well.
Speaker 5 (43:44):
So yeah, Booker, I mean, I guess it is a
good thing when you don't out the book talk about
an offensive lineman.
Speaker 13 (43:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (43:50):
I mean he's he's coming, and he's kind of fit,
very seem That's that's that was the biggest thing about
him being drafted is like, even though I know a
lot of people have wanted a wide.
Speaker 6 (43:59):
Receiver or something you know, or or something, he was
the most lead ready guard in that class and he
was immediately ready. So it's like, I think that we've
gotten to see that this past week man him and
Jalen Carter battling.
Speaker 3 (44:16):
Yeah, Jalen Carter, if you watch film, you know.
Speaker 6 (44:20):
Hey Bee popping people outside they head and stuff. But
with Booker, with Booker, I feel like you've gotten a
guy that's gonna help your interior for a good while.
And the Cowboys as much as as again as annoyed
as people were when he was drafted and people wanted
more of.
Speaker 3 (44:37):
A skilled player.
Speaker 6 (44:39):
He neutralizes something that your team's within your division do
very well, and that's you know, interior pushing things like that.
So he has definitely helped shore those things up and
you're getting to see him in the ring game get
to the second level.
Speaker 7 (44:51):
And now I feel like I got to look at
a booker on Thanksgiving just so I can come back
and say something positive.
Speaker 3 (45:00):
They chippy out there. I like it. I like the attitude,
this offensive line a little chippy. Yeah, it's a good thing.
It's good.
Speaker 5 (45:08):
It's a good thing.
Speaker 3 (45:08):
We're not saying his name, it's fine. I guess we're gonna.
Speaker 5 (45:10):
Say his name tomorrow though, because we do have a show.
Speaker 4 (45:12):
We're gonna talk Cowboys offense, Chiefs defense ahead of Thanksgiving Day.
Speaker 3 (45:16):
It's gonna be a good one, y'all.
Speaker 5 (45:17):
I feel like we say that every week. I mean,
it's gonna be a good don't feel like the playoff
game absolutely absolutely well.
Speaker 4 (45:24):
With the Cowboys needing this win, also the Chiefs needing
a win on Thursday, I think it could really significantly
by bump the Cowboys chances of.
Speaker 7 (45:33):
Ten percent right now, it's better than what it is now.
It was one percent this time last year.
Speaker 4 (45:38):
I just want to say that, Okay, all right, I'm
about to get us sick.
Speaker 3 (45:44):
That's a mystic for you. Gotta come back on that note.
Speaker 4 (45:48):
It's a great show. We'll see y'all back here at
eight am tomorrow morning. Nicole Hudgerson, Brianna Aldriche, Aysha Morrison,
