Speaker 3 (01:31):
Anybody in your family that's always into something or friend
that you have, that's all.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
They're always into something. Yep, my baby brother. Because and
what made me think it is was our boy.
Speaker 3 (01:47):
Yeah, Clarence Hill is just a friend, always, always in something.
It's a dude out that's killing Clarence for twenty minute
twenty minute rest.
Speaker 1 (01:57):
And I exgested it Clarence deserve it, he said.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
Know, Clarence did not deserve it, but you get bet
he was into something.
Speaker 7 (02:05):
There is there's for Clarence to be as old as
he is.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
And I said, my god, this joker always.
Speaker 7 (02:12):
Behind and insult, always in some mess. And I'm like, well,
I didn't do I said, you're always antagonizing.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
You're alway. I didn't know.
Speaker 2 (02:25):
I didn't.
Speaker 7 (02:26):
I just said this, and I'm like that you don't
try to explain why.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
He No, everybody can't be wrong now. You always in something.
Speaker 7 (02:35):
And when I tell you, I had a belly tear
dropping laugh this morning in the office, I played that
I had to find it.
Speaker 1 (02:44):
I went on YouTube.
Speaker 7 (02:44):
I said, I gotta find this and this dude was
laying out, Yes.
Speaker 5 (02:51):
He's mad.
Speaker 9 (02:52):
Figures on YouTube just going off whole twenty minutes.
Speaker 5 (02:56):
Was this just a random person that somebody that has
a following, like.
Speaker 1 (02:59):
I don't off he has a following or not.
Speaker 7 (03:01):
I'm on my business, but someone was tweeting about it
to him?
Speaker 5 (03:06):
Was it about football?
Speaker 7 (03:08):
Every He called Clarence a basis, He called them crusty,
He called them a fear pushing everything, everything God, everything
about the Child of God. It was huh, hilarious, so funny.
(03:30):
But I just laugh because I just think, I'm like, man,
we gotta be living in the alternate, alternate universe.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
This cannot be.
Speaker 7 (03:37):
This cannot be life where people get so mad that
they go on these rants about other people who they
don't know, who don't care that you want on this rant,
and you're not gonna stop him, stop them from doing
what they do. It's just it's it's the funniest thing
in the world to me.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (03:58):
I just think when I was in college and before
social media, and I was that guy I was just
getting stuff. Is get caught in the dorms and the
girls dorm you were allowed. It could be thirty guys
in there.
Speaker 5 (04:14):
You were the one getting caught.
Speaker 1 (04:15):
I wouldn't get caught half.
Speaker 7 (04:16):
The time I met her, I met him, I met
I met a woman who went to school with you.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
I wouldn't get caught half. She said, Nate beat up
her like her girlfriend's brother or something like that. You
tell Nate.
Speaker 7 (04:30):
She went to college with Nate. She's from the same
area with the college. So I've been doing Nate for
forty years. I said, Hey, we was cool. He beat
my best friend brother up. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (04:42):
Man, people were called down the administration of discipline off
of whatever you called it in college.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
They were called down and call coach, he said, coach.
Speaker 10 (04:54):
He.
Speaker 3 (04:56):
I got a problem with your players, you know, call
her hold on, hold on?
Speaker 1 (05:02):
Was Nates made me think about what you said. I'm
like and so, and then I said no, Nate wasn't
in it this time. And they said, okay, well who
is the player?
Speaker 6 (05:17):
Man?
Speaker 1 (05:17):
I was. I would be that guy into something all
the time.
Speaker 3 (05:21):
And I'm like, wow, Clarence kind of clars grow up,
Clarence close.
Speaker 7 (05:25):
Clarence is the most is the oldest, sixty year old,
mischievous little Dennis, the minist kid you'll ever see.
Speaker 1 (05:32):
And usually the ones that.
Speaker 5 (05:35):
They're the best people.
Speaker 1 (05:37):
Yeah, Claire's good.
Speaker 6 (05:38):
Usually the bad ones don't get caught, don't get him messed.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
The people like her.
Speaker 7 (05:45):
His heart is pure. Yeah, but he just he just
mess finds him, he finds mess.
Speaker 3 (05:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (05:51):
Yeah, they just like I know another person on this
show that's kind of like that.
Speaker 1 (05:54):
Who is that?
Speaker 5 (05:56):
I don't think it's you. You don't get him messed?
Speaker 1 (05:58):
You not no more? Yeah no more.
Speaker 5 (06:00):
You retired your mess. Chris doesn't ever get in any mess.
Kurt definitely doesn't get any mess.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
I'm in the house.
Speaker 5 (06:06):
I don't.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
You ain't gonna put that on me. Yeah, you ain't.
Speaker 5 (06:11):
You don't get in physical mess. You get in verbal
mess all the time.
Speaker 6 (06:16):
When Nate's got to go on another show and say
I get along with everybody, and you're on the list
of the short list of four people, Yeah, yeah, I.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
Don't like me. Just they don't do not hireless, do
not hireless. That's another list. You.
Speaker 6 (06:35):
You know what I was thinking the other day when
when we were talking who you you're the equivalent of
You're You're the equivalent of Troy Aikman.
Speaker 1 (06:48):
In this way, I'm like.
Speaker 6 (06:51):
Okay, Cowboy fans, a lot of Cowboy fans do not
like to listen to the broadcast when Troy calls cowboy games.
Speaker 5 (07:00):
I love it exactly it.
Speaker 6 (07:02):
I love it because he's telling you what he sees,
what he knows, what the truth is. And people get
pissed off and say that he's a cowboy hater and
he goes over the top and he tries to go
so far against the cowboys to make up for him
being a cowboy so he doesn't look like a homer.
Speaker 5 (07:20):
They get mad. My mom won't watch the broadcast. She
hates watching the broadcast when Troy's on.
Speaker 6 (07:25):
And I love it because you get real insight because
he's still connected and he knows the backstories and he's
telling you, like I know what this is, and people
don't want to hear it.
Speaker 5 (07:36):
You're the same way you're connected. You tell people what
your eyes see.
Speaker 6 (07:41):
Ninety nine percent of the time it's the truth, and
if it's not the truth, you'll own up to it
and be like, I was wrong on this one.
Speaker 5 (07:49):
But like, there's very few things you say on the
show that.
Speaker 6 (07:52):
Either don't come true, aren't true, or it's not based
you know, not based on the past. Right, So you
don't just hate to hate, you hate because it's I
don't hate.
Speaker 8 (08:05):
You hate you compliments, but hate hate, I think is
like I try to right right right, like some people
are just like, well, you ain't got nothing, say nothing
at all. That's not what it's about.
Speaker 7 (08:25):
I wish I wish my grandmother was alive to see
this now, because I'm telling you she would call in
and she would be the one.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
Like, yep, he said it.
Speaker 7 (08:35):
That's him, that mouth of his. It's been that way
since he's been a little kid. We've been trying to
wrangle him in since he's been a little boy. And
it's just I'm just I'm just gonna I'm gonna call
like I see it. And that's that's always been the
gift and the curse of Jesse Holly, my mother to
this today, she says this today, She like she'll get
(08:55):
upset at me in my own house, mind you, and
she'll say to me, in my own home, somebody, I
can't wait to to day somebody smack you in your
I'm like, what you like, I'm telling you, somebody gonna
just oh, they're gonna smack you punch. And I always
jokingly always say, well if you wish that on me,
whatever they do to me, I'm gonna come.
Speaker 1 (09:15):
Home and do it now.
Speaker 7 (09:16):
I'm not gonna do it, but she was saying that,
She's like, you know, that mouth for yours. I watched
the show sometimes that mouth for yours. Somebody gonna punch
you in the mouth one day, and I'm like, forty
one years, it ain't happen yet. Not saying that it
won't happen, but I'm just saying it. They ain't happen yet.
I don't want it to happen. I like my team,
you know what.
Speaker 1 (09:31):
I like my pity the person that does that.
Speaker 3 (09:33):
Not saying that you're gonna do anything too, but come on,
because the world is getting like, I know, hitted. The
person that does that, you're not a very good person,
you know when you just really can't handle the truth.
Speaker 7 (09:44):
Pitty the person that does do that, because I'm that's
gonna be a funny because I'm gonna come back in it,
like what happened to you?
Speaker 1 (09:51):
I got finally, God, they finally got there. Trying to
lip be on fat. They're gonna be better. They gonna
be finally got me.
Speaker 7 (09:59):
That's gonna after I did a couple of days in
jail because if you punched me in the mouth, it's.
Speaker 1 (10:02):
Gonna be a but yeah, all right, let's get it
to this thing. Man Washington offense.
Speaker 5 (10:07):
Yes, this is this might be a fun one. It
looks like what's our latest injury.
Speaker 1 (10:12):
Report, Kurt?
Speaker 5 (10:12):
Before we get into this, well's who's practicing?
Speaker 1 (10:15):
Who's not what we're worried about?
Speaker 9 (10:17):
Yeah, I haven't seen today's but he was a limited
participant yesterday.
Speaker 1 (10:22):
So he did practice.
Speaker 9 (10:22):
He did practice. A lot of guys are off for
them yesterday, just for rest. They played Monday night. But
he's probably the, I guess, the main guy to be
concerned with.
Speaker 5 (10:32):
If he does play. I think we all know what
he can do. If he doesn't play. Who's is there
anyone to worry about? McCaffrey had a good game. There's
some good jeans in that family.
Speaker 6 (10:44):
Dad Old started with dad.
Speaker 9 (10:47):
His mom's like a world class sprinter, one big athlete.
Speaker 6 (10:50):
Yeah think so, yeah, yeah, so he who else is
on that offense that you guys would be scared of?
Speaker 1 (10:57):
Quarterback?
Speaker 6 (10:58):
Well, yeah, no, sophomore slump right, seven passing touchdowns and
one interception.
Speaker 7 (11:04):
So far, and then you got, uh, you got old Bill.
So they said you gotta call him, don't call him,
Ja Cory call him Bill.
Speaker 5 (11:13):
Why we call him him Bill?
Speaker 7 (11:14):
That's that's his nickname, Yeah, Bill, Bill Krossky merrit. They
just call him Bill. They got t shirts made like,
I don't know why that's his nickname. I'm sure there's
a story behind it. I got to go look up
for something like that. But they call him Bill. They
don't call him Ja Cory. They call him Bill Krosskey.
Speaker 5 (11:30):
I don't want to be called like krusty or something.
Speaker 7 (11:32):
Yeah, Krossky merrit, Bill Krossky Merrit. I'll say this, as
far as this offense is concerned, and this ties into
the issues that we've had defensively, a little over sixty
(11:53):
percent of what they do offensively comes in no huddle.
So when you're talking about yeah, comes in no huddle.
So they get to the line of scrimmage, they want
to form tempo, they want to keep their line, they
want to keep their personnel on the field. They want
they don't want to give you a chance to sub
and so when you start talking about personnel packages, players
(12:15):
getting on and off the field, these are the type
of things that you know you have to practice all
week because if they go from all right, first down,
we kind of go regular tempo and then all of
a sudden, second down they kind of speak the temple
up a little bit. Now you're not able to get
personnel on and off. Guys are confused, and that's the
last thing that we need is more confusion for this
defensive bunch. And you know, Jerry kind of spoke out
(12:39):
of turn, maybe not spoke out of turn because it's
his damn team, so he can say what do he
want when he wants where he wants, but talked about
that this team will be doing a little bit more
man coverage, which I personally.
Speaker 1 (12:49):
Believe this might not be the week for that.
Speaker 7 (12:52):
And the reason why I say that, it's because of
the quarterback j Dale's rush for over nine hundred yards
last year.
Speaker 1 (12:57):
Like, he is not a scrambler, he is a runner.
Speaker 7 (13:02):
Like these are not nine hundred yards of scramble yards,
these are nine hundred yards of design runs right, Like, yes,
there are some scramble in that, but they look to
use him as the eleventh man on office.
Speaker 1 (13:13):
Normally, a defense will have an advantage.
Speaker 7 (13:15):
They'll always have an advantage because it'll be eleven defenders
who are always positioned somewhere, and it normally it gets
ten offensive players because the quarterback, if he's not you know,
Lamar or that type of mobile type of guy, it's
fully ten on eleven because he's not really running anywhere. Well,
that doesn't matter, that's not truth this week. This week
(13:37):
he's an eleventh player, so it's eleven on eleven. And
the thing that I fear, let me not say that
because I don't fear anything, because I don't have to
play a guy.
Speaker 1 (13:45):
I don't have to play a game. I ain't playing
it down. I don't fear anything.
Speaker 7 (13:49):
The thing that I look at as being potentially an issue,
and I know people are gonna say, but we handled
them last year. No, no, d I'm going to caution
you and said by saying this, when you played Jaydon
Daniels last year, you have four sacks.
Speaker 1 (14:04):
On Jayden Daniels. You want to know who those four
sackers were.
Speaker 7 (14:09):
Josh Butler had one, Damarion Overshon had one, Michael Parsons
had two. So the four guys that you use to
sack him, two of them not even one or not here?
Where's Josh Butler? He's still hurt.
Speaker 3 (14:26):
He hurt?
Speaker 1 (14:26):
Is he even here? He's hurt. He's hurt her y.
That's right.
Speaker 7 (14:31):
So he's on I R and Damarian Overshon are I
don't think you have athletes that can run with him.
I don't maybe Marris, right, but sometimes Marius, if he
puts his foot in the ground to go the opposite.
Speaker 1 (14:42):
Way, Marris is gonna keep running by him. Right.
Speaker 7 (14:45):
Uh, we know Jack Sanborn's and we know Kenneth who
knows what Ken will be at on these particular plays, right,
So you don't have the athletes on your defense right
now that have the ability to run him down. And
that's what man and man at sometimes causes you. Because
Cliff Kingsbury, he's gonna line up Debo in the backfield,
(15:08):
the line up wide receivers out wide, and so now
when he spreads you out wide and you're playing man
the man, you're turning your back to the quarterback. So
whenever there's a there's a hole that opens up, he'll
take off. And who's chasing him down. Michael can close
the gap, the Marvin Overshon can close the gap. I
don't see other players on this defense right now that
are be able to close the gap fast enough for
(15:31):
a guy like Jaydon Daniels. So that's why, I'm like, ah,
this whole man thing.
Speaker 1 (15:35):
You know.
Speaker 7 (15:35):
Again, they're gonna speed the tempo up, so you might
get stuck out there sometimes with big tempo with big personnel.
That makes it even worse trying to run this guy down.
They're gonna run the RPO game, and they're gonna try
to run the football. I mean, would you not if
you're playing the Cowboys defense, They're gonna try to establish
that run and then off that use the RPO. You
(15:56):
gotta be disciplined and like all the things that make
or can limit r p O, the Cowboys currently lack.
They like getting off blocks, they lack reading reaction, uh,
and they lacked gap assignment, alignment and responsibilities.
Speaker 1 (16:13):
And most of all, they lack overall speed.
Speaker 7 (16:16):
And they're like overall speed and and I got the
fifth one in there tackling. They're not a good tackling
football team.
Speaker 1 (16:22):
Now.
Speaker 7 (16:22):
Granted, last week the Washington Commanders offensively, they were boy,
they were trying to give the Bears the ball and
every chance they got, they they were just But wasn't
it It wasn't a little It was a little rainy,
got a little rainy, got.
Speaker 1 (16:34):
A little wet, so that it was. It was.
Speaker 7 (16:37):
It was a couple of times when they were punching
the ball out, they turned the ball over. They were
trying to give it to them almost every possession. It
felt like, uh, but offensively, you know, you got to
deal with that. I think I think Cliff Kingsbury is
is doing a good job with his Uh if Terry,
if Terry plays great, well not great, but yeah, I
(17:00):
know that great for us.
Speaker 1 (17:02):
But yeah they still got you know, old man zach.
Speaker 7 (17:04):
Ertz uh debos uh deebo still out there making some playoffs.
Speaker 1 (17:09):
Got easy, got easy.
Speaker 7 (17:11):
D Son out there is like I said, if Terry
McLaurin plays, he plays. But Chris Moore was another guy
could have touched out my beautiful touchdown pass from Jason
Dames and Chris Moore last week against the Bears in
the corner of the end zone.
Speaker 6 (17:23):
So they always and it's like Washington more than any
other team has always had that one gallon offense that
kind of like with computers. They with Chris Joe's it
never plays good until he plays. Remember used to be Santana,
I mean, uh with Santana Moss.
Speaker 1 (17:40):
Oh, Santana Ma. He's a love of Cowboys you used
to light them up, so you.
Speaker 7 (17:45):
Know that that's something that they they do well. Jayson
Dams hasn't been good passing the ball down the field.
Part of the reason probably because Scary Terry hasn't been
in the lineup much so having that vertical threat. He
hasn't been able. He hasn't been complete.
Speaker 1 (17:57):
Notes a lot hit touchdown that was last week.
Speaker 7 (18:01):
Yeah, so so so like the down the field throws
hasn't been there, of course, because you're a big play
receiver and Scaritarians.
Speaker 1 (18:07):
And Daniels has been out too, and he's been out
as well.
Speaker 5 (18:09):
But I guess who's coming to town.
Speaker 3 (18:11):
But no, the great thing about this, I'm trying to
the great thing about this. You know that I've been
laughing the whole way through and I've just been saying,
should I say this doesn't Yes, everything about I think
Dak is sixteen and two against these guys. He's got
a good record, Yes, I think, yeah, yeah, So I
think now you know that that excuse me that that
(18:35):
my young man over there opposite me, you are so true.
I think this is a thirty five plus point game
each side. To keep this win streak going, We're gonna
need thirty five points.
Speaker 5 (18:46):
I can't. I can't. But what is what is Dak's
record against him?
Speaker 1 (18:49):
Thirteen thirteen or sixteen thirteen to two?
Speaker 6 (18:53):
It's hard for me to believe he's only played them
heart right, but that's just weird. He's been in the league,
what ten years, and he's only played them division opponent
fifteen times?
Speaker 9 (19:05):
Yeah, missed both games last year.
Speaker 5 (19:08):
Yeah, I saw that stat.
Speaker 1 (19:10):
That was just weird.
Speaker 3 (19:11):
Jesse, good breakdown and good, but how are you feeling
that team point?
Speaker 5 (19:16):
I mean, well, let's find out when we come back,
because you.
Speaker 1 (19:20):
Know, give him chances because you know he is. He's
still bubbly about the team. I took my good belly.
Speaker 7 (19:27):
It took my good belly, digest and immunity.
Speaker 6 (19:31):
We'll find out if Jesse's gassy on the team or now.

up and I was like, I know that, Where did
I know that guy from?
Speaker 5 (22:14):
And then saw he was in it with Jayden and Daniels.
Speaker 6 (22:16):
I think they're in a chunky commercial chunky soup in
the kitchen, and I was just like.
Speaker 5 (22:21):
Wait a minute, that's that's our center. No, wait, he
doesn't play for us anymore.
Speaker 1 (22:26):
I just thought that was very weird.
Speaker 5 (22:28):
All right, let's talk about Let's talk about Washington's offense
a little bit more for the second segment. Sure, good, good,
we y'all.
Speaker 1 (22:41):
Do you wanted to know how I felt about? Was
I bubbly? Is that what you wanted to know about?
Speaker 5 (22:45):
What Nate wanted to know? What was your question?
Speaker 1 (22:46):
Nate?
Speaker 11 (22:46):
For Jesse?
Speaker 5 (22:47):
Was he how was he feeling about.
Speaker 1 (22:48):
The team talking about Washington offense? Other question? Oh, I
know what I know how you feel my person? I
know what you feel person? Yeah? Shoot man? Please?
Speaker 7 (23:05):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (23:05):
Did you wait on me to say something? Yeah? I
thought you What were you going to say?
Speaker 6 (23:09):
West a few bubbly on the Washington offense?
Speaker 1 (23:12):
Am I bubbly? Yeah?
Speaker 5 (23:13):
I don't know what was your question?
Speaker 7 (23:14):
No, we're playing I love that like the Cowboys offense.
I'm I'm football horny about that's you get Ceedee Lamb
back this week. So I'm I'm all excited about what
they can do offensively. It's just defensively, man, I, in
the words of Bill Parcells, you are what your record
(23:36):
says you are, and you are what your you are,
what your defensive rankings say you are. And there's nothing
that there's nothing that's changed that this week getting Jack
Sanborn back done, it doesn't change nothing. Defensively you you
You are who you say we are, You are who
we see you are. Every single week. Teams look at
(23:56):
you now defensively as as the right aid, as the Walgreens,
as the the get right game, take take take the
Cowboys and call me in the morning. Take the cowboy defensive,
call me in the morning, and until you until you
prove otherwise. That's how teams are gonna treat you. You
don't have to hold a couple of pockets. That's just like,
that's what you are defensively, you you pocket holding right now.
Speaker 9 (24:16):
And the criticism that's been popping up about one of
the reasons that can't tackles because they're going for turnovers,
they're trying to punch the ball out there.
Speaker 7 (24:24):
Yeah, Johnson said that that's moose. Johnson said that, well,
the biggest thing about it is it's it's the way
that they're going at it because normally, right, we all
know the peanut punch, right that that was a thing
that Peanut Tillman kind of really put his stamp on
(24:44):
his days in Chicago. But you're really taught it's the
second guy in that's supposed to be the puncher, because
you want to be able to secure the tackle. And
if you're just coming in now, you're trying to punch
the ball out your your for every one time you
get it, the other twenty times the guy actually has
(25:06):
ball security and.
Speaker 1 (25:07):
You don't make the tackle.
Speaker 7 (25:09):
So what you want is, I want the first guy
to come in and if he's gonna punch at rap first,
then punch.
Speaker 1 (25:17):
Look at Peanut all the way through right like don't and.
Speaker 7 (25:22):
A lot of times now what you see and this
is a kind of across the league, but prevalent with
the Cowboys. And then when you're trying to chase turnovers
and trying to make plays, they're trying to come in
and punch the ball out. But forgetting the most critical
part of it, tackle the guy.
Speaker 1 (25:35):
I'd rather you tackle him where.
Speaker 7 (25:37):
He stands, then continue trying to punch the ball out
and missing, because again, for every one time you get it,
there's twenty other runs that you don't get it. Twenty
five other runs that you don't get it, fifty runs
that you don't get it. Because the Cowboys have how
many turnovers this year? Four? You got two interceptions and
maybe three maybe four, maybe two fumbles and two interceptions.
(25:59):
So it ain't working well for you because you don't
lead the league of turnovers. You're thirty thirty ninth in
almost every defensive statistical category, so you know, tritackling.
Speaker 6 (26:13):
Here's an interesting one Kirk gave us. Cowboys have allowed
scoring drives on fifty two point four percent of the
drives against some third worst in the league. So that
means their opponents are getting more points or getting points
more often than they're not.
Speaker 1 (26:29):
Yeah, on a drive to win that way, so extremely
tough to win.
Speaker 3 (26:35):
So you know what so sad is this is not
this is not a bunch of field goals. I bet
you look at the six points. I bet it's it's
up to high probably about thirty five forty percent of
the time.
Speaker 5 (26:47):
And they're probably not quick drives either.
Speaker 3 (26:49):
They're probably yeah, because what Jesse said yesterday is you
can get it quick, you can get it long.
Speaker 1 (26:56):
However you want zone defense gonna give it a long drives.
That's how my love. Man. Man, that's how my love
life goes. That's that's how I love. That's how I
love that. That's the way love goes. I'm not gonna I'm.
Speaker 5 (27:19):
I'm looking away.
Speaker 1 (27:21):
Break. My love life was like a cowboy statistic. I
love my e p A.
Speaker 5 (27:28):
All right, we're gonna take our second break. We'll be
right back.

All right, Nate, In the first segment, we were talking
about college.
Speaker 5 (30:27):
How were you as a college player?
Speaker 1 (30:29):
I was good. Yeah, I played. I played.
Speaker 3 (30:32):
Uh that's my freshman year, I played all special teams
and then uh, my last game of the year, I started,
So that stopped me back and then from being red
shirted because I played enough games. And then my sophomore year,
I started at defensive tackle. We ran a three to
four with a defensive end. Whatever you want to call me.
(30:53):
And I made All Conference and then uh, my next year,
I was a starting left tackle because coach got mad
at me because I want to lose weight so I
do spring training. So he gave my job away to
another guy. So I went and just took the other
left the guards job because you couldn't stop the too
(31:16):
great of athletes.
Speaker 1 (31:19):
So that's what I did. And so and then I.
Speaker 3 (31:24):
Believe it or not, my senior year, this is a
true story. My senior year, I dropped down to from
like three hundred down.
Speaker 1 (31:36):
To to.
Speaker 3 (31:39):
Seventy something to eighty and ran some like a four
eight forty for Denver Scout and he said, god, there
you are you the same guy that we saw on
famous said yes, sir, I lost about thirty pounds and
then he said, well, I'm gonna invite you to this
thing in Detroit.
Speaker 1 (31:55):
This blessed though camp. I said, okay, no problem. So
he invited me to.
Speaker 3 (31:58):
But by then I had put on to put thirty
pounds back on, and I was threeteen wow ah, and
so but then I still ran.
Speaker 1 (32:08):
Like a four nine Are you kidding me? Yeah? I
still ran three pounds around a four nine, ye know,
And so uh.
Speaker 3 (32:17):
In Washington, these same raggety commanders whoever you are.
Speaker 9 (32:23):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (32:23):
They they they signed me because I was going for
the money I want, you know.
Speaker 1 (32:27):
They I was free aged.
Speaker 3 (32:28):
I went for the most money back then that was
but fifty now that was about five grand. They gave
me the sign so I signed with them, got cut
the last cut.
Speaker 1 (32:37):
I was the most happy as I ever been in life. Yeah,
cause I ain't like them no way.
Speaker 3 (32:41):
And uh went to Can went to the USFL, played there,
had I may had whay wish you with the last year.
I never signed with the NFL. I was having so
much fun, being crazy, doing whatever I wanted. In Tampa, Florida. Yeah,
I'm here.
Speaker 5 (32:55):
How'd you were you recruited out of high school?
Speaker 1 (32:58):
Yes, sir, I was recruited nor the Dame.
Speaker 7 (33:01):
That was crazy because he had options to go to
big Division one schools and I went to FAM.
Speaker 1 (33:05):
I was on that black thing back then. It's a
black thing. No, well, be to be honest with you,
wasn't a black thing.
Speaker 3 (33:11):
It was like all the kids at my school, eighty
percent of them either went to Florida and them Upper
Cook Thune Cook moves in Daytona and all of our
parents and our parents before them went to these schools.
So they Florida and them the only school that something
a letter was scrambling.
Speaker 1 (33:30):
Everybody else didn't even send me a letter.
Speaker 7 (33:32):
Yeah, because they knew not the Dame Old school, Like
why were you sending the waste that time?
Speaker 1 (33:38):
He going to not to Day and he going to
one of the.
Speaker 3 (33:41):
Call a coach parent, I say, and he passed away.
But I said, coach, I said that it's amazing man.
None of the black schools recruit family hasn't called you.
So he went and called it.
Speaker 1 (33:51):
Uh, hey, man, y'all mean tell me. We got all
these schools trying to get this boy, and y'all don't
want nothing to do with it.
Speaker 3 (33:59):
So they called him. I went, uh visited Floyda and them. Uh,
I said, what you want to eat? Man?
Speaker 1 (34:08):
They go churches over us. I went over to churches,
got me something to I was.
Speaker 3 (34:11):
It wasn't hard. They like saw a few girls. Yeah,
they had a trader pall right now from but I
had already committed. I told her before I already committed
Arizona State sun Devils with Frank Cushion, all of those
guys and uh, my dad, I said, I came back.
(34:32):
My dad looked at me like, all right, said, yes, sir,
you Arizona right, I said, no, sir you So.
Speaker 6 (34:41):
Was it Was it a comfort thing for you being
close to home and family or was it a heritage thing?
Speaker 3 (34:47):
Just just it was more fun. It was more fun
just because me. I was always a loner. I was
always a loaner. But it was more fun close to
the home. It was my high school coach with I
love coach Parrett. That's where he went to school at.
And I always I say, if I had a chance
out of Bethune and Fami, I was gonna pick fam
(35:08):
you know. So I'm gone, and uh the rest is history.
Speaker 6 (35:13):
Man.
Speaker 1 (35:14):
I've had a great life. I've had a great life. Busier. Yeah, man,
that's what parents never got. Left the pot on the well.
Speaker 5 (35:33):
Jesse tell us about Deebo. Does he have anything left?
Speaker 1 (35:37):
Yeah? Yeah, but he didn't practice other day. Yeah, he's
dealing with well.
Speaker 7 (35:41):
Like like Kurt was saying, a lot of these guys
like this, this is an older football team, Like this
is not a team.
Speaker 1 (35:47):
Yeah, this is the old football team. So you're talking about.
Speaker 7 (35:49):
Guys who've been around this league for for a mighty
mighty long time. And so they have those good old
Romo Wednesdays, you know what I mean, the guys. And
then he's he's dealing with the heel injury he did
a couple of weeks ago. So there there Wednesdays coming
off a Monday night game is is big for these
older guys. So him not practicing is probably more so
of short week Romo Wednesday. Get these older guys some
(36:11):
rest to get Yeah, like.
Speaker 9 (36:14):
Their guys on their list yesterday, we're just rest.
Speaker 5 (36:16):
So yeah, how are they using him this year?
Speaker 7 (36:18):
Everywhere in the backfield and the slot outside. He's still
now he's not the same player he was in Sant
Fran Don't get me wrong, but but he's still got
a little giddy up and go, you know what I mean,
Like he's still he's still a powerful runner. If you
get him in open space, you're gonna have to bring
your hard hat, You're gonna have to bring everything with him.
He'll run through an arm tackle, He'll run through you know,
(36:38):
attempted peanut punch.
Speaker 1 (36:41):
But the thing that gets what what what will?
Speaker 7 (36:46):
When I look at the Cowboys defense is where and
how they line Deebo up? Because they gonna line up,
but in the backfield sometimes what is your adjustment to that?
Speaker 1 (36:56):
Right?
Speaker 7 (36:56):
Are you stuck now leaving Debo in the backfield and
linebacker having to cover him.
Speaker 1 (37:01):
That's not gonna be.
Speaker 7 (37:02):
A good situation, right, Or are you treating him like
a you know, if you're going man to man like?
How are you treating him with the safety with the
slot corner? So his versatility can can sometimes confuse you.
He starts in the backfield, he motions out. That's where
the confusion has been a lot with the Cowboys' offense,
not when they line up, it's when the shifts happens,
and when the motion happens. Now the new responsibility for
(37:26):
the guys on defense when that changes. Have we been
able to communicate that clearly to one another? The answer
is no. This is what Cliff Kingsbury is gonna do.
There's gonna be shifts, there's gonna be motions, there's gonna
be multiple personnel. They're gonna be twelve personnel, twenty one personnel,
eleven personnel, ten personnel. He's gonna use a multitude of
formations and they're gonna be moving.
Speaker 1 (37:47):
They are.
Speaker 7 (37:47):
That's Cliff Kingsbury for you. He's gonna bring something to
the table that's unique. It's gonna be some sort of crazy, wacky.
They did the Tornado reverse a week or so ago
right where they like it's.
Speaker 1 (37:59):
The worldly Dearl.
Speaker 7 (38:00):
So that's Cliff Kingsbury is gonna give you those type
of things. It's gonna give you short throw, it's gonna
give you tunnel screens, Ali screens with the receivers, with
the running backs, you know, with the tight ends. He's
gonna do like, you know, fake this way, fake that
way through the middle screen, like you're gonna get a
bunch of different things. And when you're playing the Cowboys defense,
a lot of it's opening on the table because of
(38:21):
their lack of discipline, the lack of communication, Their assignments
have been off the linebackers have been misreading and diagnosing things.
So when you add Deebo to that mix and the
way that Cliff Kingsbury will dispense them, especially if you
get scary Terry back. Because now I have a receiver
out there that I know can can run the routes
(38:42):
from all angles. I can move Debo around as a
specialty player.
Speaker 5 (38:46):
I just got on alert that Terry did not practice today.
Speaker 3 (38:50):
Oh okay, you know, and I know I'm gonna sound simple.
I really don't care because I know what I'm talking about.
You know what can stop all of this. You know
what can stop all of that tricky, foolish crazy stuff
is a three technique and a dominant three technique and
(39:11):
a dominant one technique. When you have those two things
in the middle of your defense, all of that foolishness
goes away.
Speaker 5 (39:20):
What why haven't we gotten that yet?
Speaker 1 (39:26):
I don't know.
Speaker 6 (39:26):
You've been asking for this, I don't know for ten years.
Why is it so hard for them to win? Bring somebody?
Speaker 3 (39:32):
Kansas City became their best is when a guy called
our show and say this guy only plays when he
plays the Dallas Cowboys. And seeing that, that kid went
on a tear and they went to the super Bowl
and it was no problems. It seemed like the Rams
just was trying to fix things. But one thing that
(39:54):
was constant was number ninety nine.
Speaker 5 (39:57):
And I know they don't grow on trees. They only
reason why.
Speaker 6 (40:00):
But is it are they harder to identify talent wise?
Like I know they've drafted that position and they've done
other things and they just can't seem to get a
dominant or a a.
Speaker 5 (40:13):
Linus player in there.
Speaker 6 (40:15):
That's you know, you get some decent guys, but you
never had that guy that when you need.
Speaker 5 (40:20):
Him, he can make a stop or a tackle for
loss or something.
Speaker 1 (40:24):
Is that?
Speaker 5 (40:25):
Is that position harder to evaluate?
Speaker 1 (40:27):
I know I can't pick players.
Speaker 3 (40:29):
Like I told Jess before we came on there, it's
two guys I laugh about. Is the guy that left
Texas and now he's with Atlanta and I'm looking at.
Speaker 1 (40:39):
This guy like, whoa b Jonn Robinson. And then the
other guy that.
Speaker 3 (40:42):
I knew that was gonna be good and everybody laughed
at me was the fat kid that plays for the
Tampa Bay Bucks.
Speaker 1 (40:49):
In the middle of the out via Bay.
Speaker 3 (40:51):
Y'all, you remember the ice man, move up and get
this dude. Ah okay, now guess what.
Speaker 1 (40:57):
You guess what?
Speaker 3 (40:59):
But you when a guy of that nature shows up,
and you know everybody knew this was a can't miss guy,
why didn't you get him?
Speaker 1 (41:10):
Why didn't you just go up to players and get him?
Speaker 7 (41:14):
Go up?
Speaker 1 (41:15):
It wasn't a priority. It's never been a priority.
Speaker 3 (41:18):
It's got to become one. It's if you want to
stop when I when I that's why I'll be laughing.
Speaker 1 (41:23):
I'm looking at Jenson.
Speaker 3 (41:24):
I'm laughing because all of this I'm gonna fake you out,
and I'm gonna do this right here. Well, when you
got somebody that can storm up the middle of your defense,
the middle.
Speaker 9 (41:35):
Of your offense, that makes a difference.
Speaker 1 (41:38):
Oh yeah, when you.
Speaker 3 (41:39):
Got two guys that can come up the middle of
your defense and stop all spinning around trying to get
eight or nine. Come on, man, no, it ain't none
of that happening, because, first of all, your officeer line
ain't gonna be able to pull because it's gonna be
getting knocked back into one another. You're cillaly gonna have
to you gonna have to be like, man, we can't
(41:59):
do that, not on this.
Speaker 1 (42:00):
Dude, right here today. No, all that foolish is stopped.
All of that fool Look at the super Bowl, the.
Speaker 3 (42:09):
Number ninety eight coming down there, number ninety coming, and
that other dude who they got rid of, number ninety
three coming.
Speaker 1 (42:14):
Ain't none of that happening, all of it. Let's let's
let the tight end run this and toss underneath all
of that foolish is stop.
Speaker 3 (42:21):
The day they get a bulldog in the middle of
they defense.
Speaker 1 (42:25):
All that foolish is gonna stop.
Speaker 9 (42:27):
It seems like they're the combination of Osa and Clark
are better than we've had in a while. But really again,
it's comparative better than we've had in a while. I'm
not saying they're the Eagles front or anything, but I
mean Lostrol is going.
Speaker 5 (42:46):
Like they knocked him off the track.
Speaker 7 (42:49):
Like what he's trying to say, Well, last week and
this is the part when you when you don't have
other A plus players to back up guys. Teams, the Panthers,
they just said, we're just gonna well, we're gonna do
number ninety five is we're gonna double him and move earth.
(43:09):
Who else gonna make a play?
Speaker 1 (43:11):
But so they did.
Speaker 7 (43:12):
They just said, we're gonna just double. We're gonna double
this dude, and they were moving earth. Kenny Clark are
getting washed off the ball. It's been happening in the
last two games.
Speaker 1 (43:22):
He is getting tired.
Speaker 3 (43:23):
Man, when you don't have another dog, when you can
be blocked on run blocks eighty percent of the times
two people on you, it takes a special guy to
be able to handle that. We don't have that special guy.
When you got a special guy that can handle that,
(43:44):
and then you got another dog over here hunting.
Speaker 1 (43:47):
That's one on one. That's terror.
Speaker 3 (43:49):
A baby, that's terror because you ain't gonna be able
to block him.
Speaker 1 (43:53):
It's same way with CD. Now that we know that
coach really knows what Pickings can do. Who gonna star?
Who gonna what?
Speaker 3 (44:02):
Cornerback duo gonna stop me? What safety and corn to
Corner's gonna stop him?
Speaker 1 (44:07):
You can't be stopped. All the foolishes is over. We're
faking up in there, we're falling back.
Speaker 3 (44:11):
Okay, somebody going to the house. But on our defense,
give me that same comby.
Speaker 1 (44:17):
And you can just watch on the flip side of it.
Speaker 7 (44:19):
When you watch a guy like Derek Brown last week
take on the double teams and.
Speaker 1 (44:26):
Size matter. No, but you know when when you get it, Yeah, no,
when when you got it?
Speaker 7 (44:35):
When you got a guy who's you know, three hundred
plus pounds, three hundred ten three and twenty pounds, you know,
like a Derek Brown and he takes on that double
team and and you see that guy it ain't it
ain't a stuff. Sometimes he'll turn to the side he
anchored down and then now you're trying to push me.
He get rid of one and he slide in between
the other one. Now your double team is shot. But
when you when you a little bit lighting the pockets
(44:56):
and that double team get up on you and you
you don't you don't have to wait that anchor down,
because sometimes that's that's all it is. Sometimes just I
got an anchor down. So they don't move earth, they
move earth. Now you start talking about all those when
you hear Nate talk about those douche blocks and those
combo blocks, that's we move earth. And as we're moving earth,
(45:18):
we're getting to the second level. Holding that ground doesn't
because if that guard can't or that center can't get
down on the help with that guard and then get
up to the next or that guard helping down in
that center getting up to the next. Well, now what
happens is you getting blocked back into your to your
linebacker and he can't move in the back, just coming
(45:41):
right up behind it. And then once that little crest
come and you're trying to reach out and arm tackle
on it, they run it right through that.
Speaker 3 (45:47):
So yes, and see that's why I'm laughing, because it
right now, it is not about who is the quarterback.
It is not about who is the running back. What
it is about totally is do they have a good
(46:10):
offensive line. Because if you have a good offensive line
and you can move these guys off the back, these
guys are the quarterbacks on general and running backs and
whide receiver us are talented enough. If you drop back,
there's no pressure. You can't stop that everyday NFL quarterback.
Speaker 5 (46:35):
Is how is Washington's offensive line as a whole.
Speaker 1 (46:39):
It's good. It's good. It ain't nothing super, but it's good.
So we're in trouble, we'll tell you tomorrow.
Speaker 6 (46:46):
All right, tune fight out if you're in trouble or not. Jesse,
good stuff, Nate, good stuff. Kurk, good seeing you. Chris,
thanks for keep us over there. Josh, thanks for keep
us coming. Fight out tomorrow. If we're in trouble. That
predictions in lone Hang with the boys yo.
Speaker 2 (47:03):
