Does the big come-from-behind win over Philly help with that, or do the Cowboys have to take the next two as well to really make things different? but I still.

Am that's right. That's right, y'are.

Speaker 9 (02:49):

Speaker 2 (02:59):
I'm gonna get my shirt. Behavior y'all give.

Speaker 4 (03:01):
Us your overall thoughts, and then we'll stall till you
get back.

Speaker 8 (03:04):
What'd you think we won?

Speaker 4 (03:07):
Just to let y'all know. So congratulations to Chris. Yes,
thank you, guys. I would like to take a victory lap. Okay,
that is that this almost you nailed it, almost nailed it.
Twenty four to twenty Yes. Nate calls me today, which
he rarely does unless something's wrong or he's driving.

Speaker 3 (03:25):
What did I have?

Speaker 4 (03:26):
You had the wrong team winning? You had twenty three
twenty one.

Speaker 3 (03:30):
Okay, I'm I'm like, I know my score was kind
of close. It was pretty clear, but you.

Speaker 4 (03:37):
Kurt had twenty four to twenty three Eagles, And Nate
called me and said, hey, just so you know, because
you know how he doesn't get into kicking or anything
like that. He goes I did say what Kurt said,
but the opposite. So Nate said he had twenty four
twenty three Cowboys, and I went back and listened and

(03:57):
he kind of said that, but he kind of didn't. So,
but good for Nate kind of participating.

Speaker 8 (04:03):
A little bit.

Speaker 3 (04:04):
We were all kind of in the same ballpark.

Speaker 9 (04:06):
It wasn't going to be like a thirty point type
game blowout.

Speaker 4 (04:09):
Yeah, you know, I'll start since Nate mailed it in already.
This is the kind of game that ninety nine times
out of one hundred, we come in here on today
and be like, we shot ourselves in the foot, shot
ourselves in the foot, and look there was a lot wrong,

(04:30):
but let's don't let's don't crush them.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
Today.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
They won. They won a game that ninety nine times
out of one hundred, we come in here and we're like,
they let us stay in it, They let us do this.
We missed a field goal, undisciplined football, can't tackle for squad.
They let us win this game, but we won the game.
We normally come in here and we don't win the game.

(04:53):
Normally we're in here and like, you had opportunities, you
did it. I mean, coach tried to you talking anxiety.
Kick the damn field goal second down? Why are you
trying to get on this hash and then kneel it again.

Speaker 8 (05:07):
I'm like, do you know what something's bad?

Speaker 4 (05:09):
It's about to happen.

Speaker 9 (05:10):
I freak I freaked out a little bit on that
play because when you think about it, like the spike
looked like he he threw it down backwards.

Speaker 4 (05:18):
Right, and I didn't hear like right.

Speaker 3 (05:22):
I was like, wait a minute.

Speaker 4 (05:23):
I heard.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
I was like, wait, yeah, I saw him coming. I
was like, okay, all right, cool, God.

Speaker 5 (05:29):
Well, they anticipated Jalen Carter to go under the he
always does that, he tries to catch it.

Speaker 7 (05:35):
I was worried when he started pointing out the clock
like cock was and running like it.

Speaker 4 (05:40):
You know, I just don't go clock was not running.

Speaker 5 (05:43):
Everybody in the stadium were like, why it's the clock
not running, And finally the referees looked up and started
running the clock.

Speaker 4 (05:49):
But at the end of the day, you you beat
a really good you beat a eight and two football team, and.

Speaker 7 (05:54):
They're saying they're saying they gave it to us. But
the Cowboys took that opportunity.

Speaker 4 (05:58):
They stayed in the game. That's the big thing is.
And they didn't freak out. I didn't feel like they
abandoned the run in the second half. They said, okay,
you know what, let's just chip away. And the defense
as much crap as we've given them, they held them
in the second half, you.

Speaker 3 (06:13):
Know, and h Street possessions.

Speaker 4 (06:15):
Ain't nobody happier and today than nebra Flus.

Speaker 8 (06:18):
Did you see how far out of it he was?

Speaker 2 (06:19):
He was like, what.

Speaker 8 (06:25):
I am here?

Speaker 4 (06:26):
So, Kurt, what's your overall thoughts?

Speaker 10 (06:28):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (06:28):
Same? I mean like I was like you, I was
at the point where, man, if I didn't have to
watch this game, I'm not sure I would be.

Speaker 3 (06:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (06:35):
It was just amazing. But you and it was you
that some one of us tweeted or texted the group
like they got a shot here or something. It seemed like,
I can't remember anyway, you started to get that feeling like, Okay,
Minim's turning there staying with Like you said, they're still
running the ball, They're doing their thing. The defense is
figured it out. So I don't know, it just it

(06:56):
felt like, I know, there have been times before and
you're like, how are they going to get close and
blow it? You know? This time felt a little different
to me. I felt like, Yeah, they're going to finish
this thing.

Speaker 4 (07:06):
One of us did.

Speaker 9 (07:07):
I tweeted at halftime. I was like, this game feels
like this is one of the places where they get complacent.
Eagles get complacent and the Cowboys make this a game
late and sure enough, sure so.

Speaker 4 (07:19):
You tweeted the opposite of what John Machoda tweeted.

Speaker 8 (07:22):
Yeah, this is over.

Speaker 9 (07:24):
But there's a lot there's a lot of those out there.
People are trying to like delete quickly. Boy, what what a.

Speaker 11 (07:33):
What?

Speaker 3 (07:34):
This was a fantastic win.

Speaker 9 (07:35):
This was one where I'm sorry, like you, you can
sit here today now and we can laugh and make
fun of the Eagles fans and their their their team
and all that kind of stuff. But at about at
about four point fifteen, there wasn't many people that were
looking at this game saying we're still in this game.

(07:56):
I'm sorry, I don't I know somebody else. Y'all are
super fans, But if y'all are being honest with yourselves,
around four o'clock four fifteen, that thing was twenty one nothing.

Speaker 4 (08:07):
You were like, Now, if you're a Kansas City fan
or you're a Buffalo fan and you're in this situation, yeah,
you feel like you've always got a chance.

Speaker 9 (08:14):
Cowboy fans just but this was this was the never
say die spirit man, And you know, it was phenomenal
the way that they came back and never stopped fighting.
It was and let me let me because we have
the platform and I'm not afraid to stand up and

(08:36):
say no more fight for me. Guys, There's no more
fight for me. George Pickens is your number one Barbius.
Oh I'm not I'm not fighting no more George Pickens.

Speaker 4 (08:50):
Hard.

Speaker 9 (08:52):
George Pickens is having a better season than Ceedee Lamb.
And if they want to run the offense through George
Pickens at least a passing game, no argument for old
j Holly.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
Now.

Speaker 9 (09:04):
Now, now the hill that I will die on, the
hill that I will die on, I will I will
be like John Snow and I'm I'm gonna pull my
sword out and I'm gonna stand there with all you know,
the folks, Ceedee Lamb is still the better overall receiver,
and you can act like if you want to that

(09:26):
Ceedee Lamb has not been one of the top three
wide receivers for a half decade in the National Football League.
You I'm never giving off that hill this season. George
Pickens is playing insane in just freak your safe, and

(09:48):
I am willing to concede right now that he is
the number one wide receiver on this football team and
if the offense needs to be ran through him, then
by all means go forward. But you're but you're not sorry,
But you're not gonna get me off the hill of
He's the all out better receiver of the CD Lambs cited.
Lambs is not having a good time right now. We

(10:10):
can talk more about that because I think there's something
a little bit deeper in there.

Speaker 3 (10:13):
Yeah, but here I am here, I.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
Am coming, get it, let it, I mean get it here,
I am hit.

Speaker 8 (10:23):
Him up, mat mister fourth and long.

Speaker 3 (10:25):
At sixty one, Nate Newton, fat.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
Man, ain't gonna speak like that. Yeah, you know what
fellas and looking at the film and like you said,
film don't lie. In the first half, you're looking at
them and you're looking at us, and that film just saying, yeah,
cowboys gonna get crushed. But you look at the film
in the second half. Are you even watched the game closer?

(10:50):
And I'm talking about from the trenches because they was
owning us in the trenches in the first half, especially
in the first quarter, even though all the plays they
had made were off of mistakes. Are bad calls, Coach Shaddy,
I'm riding with you. I ain't got off the train.
But can you quit having a foggy mind? Sometimes does

(11:15):
it not seem like he going to a fog and
go to calling these weird plays. And I'm not saying
that Javonte would have not fumbled tripping over the kid.
I'm not saying.

Speaker 4 (11:28):
Handing off to the wide receivers out of the backfield,
Davante would have not.

Speaker 9 (11:32):
I could say Davante wouldn't have not tripped and I
tumbled on the offensive line.

Speaker 4 (11:36):
You want to toss it to him or what? Quit
the hand it off up the middle with the weed.

Speaker 2 (11:43):
I left here feeling that if we ran the ball
close to thirty times we would be in the game,
and we gave it to him. I think Kurt got
a nice stat where he gave it to him with
nine in the first but elevens.

Speaker 7 (11:56):
Yeah, you finished with twenty to finish thirty one overall.

Speaker 2 (11:59):
Brother, coach, Come on, now, come on, coach.

Speaker 9 (12:04):
We have had a history of that here, though it's
not a history of the like the last three o
c's getting the red zone and all of a sudden
get cute.

Speaker 3 (12:12):
They lose all sense.

Speaker 8 (12:14):
Of what got him down there. Yeah, like we get
down to.

Speaker 3 (12:19):
I don't know why, Maybe I don't know the red
zone curse. I don't know what it is.

Speaker 2 (12:24):
I believe this here man to a man starting with
the touchdown later in the first half, to a man.
I don't know what coach said. I think he said,
go in there, believe, believe, and you know, the word
just started going. And then even Dak said to a
certain point when they when they are tied it up,

(12:46):
they quit believing. Now you got to start knowing. Uh.
I don't know how big this win is because I
know me, I'm cautious. Even though we got Quinny Williams
on defense, I'm very cautious. Just go overboard because it's
still a process. But it is amazing how two weeks ago,

(13:09):
three weeks ago, Wilson couldn't talk tackle nobody in the
open field. Now you see him standing there, breaking, breaking
them down, breaking down, And I'm saying to myself, it's
amazing when the simple mental adjustment of you know what,
you played sixty snaps, earn your sixty snaps. Now last
week on you didn't get sixty, you got about forty.

(13:30):
This week your snaps picked up. Earn the right to
be on this field. This is what it seemed like
for our defense now and this kid and I guess
they say, hey, we're gonna sign you, We're gonna bring
you in here, We're gonna give a little bonners. But
I need you to say every game, I'm doing my job.
I'm doing my job.

Speaker 8 (13:47):
That is the key.

Speaker 2 (13:48):
And I told Shannon before the show started adjusting Kurk,
I was gonna wreck the show. I was gonna purposely
wreck the show. And every time I had a chance,
I was gonna say, evil flux. That's selfish. I'm not
gonna do that. We're a team. But I do have
to say this right here, Fellas. It's amazing how people
wanted to just kick this man to the curve. And

(14:09):
now he held Philadelphia once again in the second half.
They did it the first game with bits and pieces.
They did it again with better players. Philadelphia got shot
down in the second half. And I think it's more
to do with Jesse's secret potion of it caught.

Speaker 8 (14:27):
Up with him. It caught up with him. He j Brown.

Speaker 2 (14:30):
We got him. It was simple and not hard to figure.

Speaker 8 (14:35):
You know what, I didn't realize how big that dude is.

Speaker 4 (14:37):
A yes, I thought he was like a Antonio Brown.

Speaker 8 (14:42):
Oh short dude.

Speaker 4 (14:44):
He from the from the waist up he's like a
brick house, man like. And then they put put those
commercials on in between. I'm like, damn that dude, Jack.
They realized he was that big of a dude. All right,
let's take our first break when we come back. Man,
can you imagine? Can you to imagine what Philadelphia? Philadelphia
is on fire today, boy one, this is the beginning

(15:06):
of the end. The house of cards is falling. Is
the damn Cowboys?

Speaker 8 (15:11):
Anybody coulda beat them?

Speaker 4 (15:12):
With the cowboys, Hey Brown telling the truth and the
way they did it. Oh man, but not here, not today.
We're gonna have more fun when we come back. Second
segment to hanging with the boys.

Speaker 4 (17:48):
Do you think every high school, college and pro coach
in America is going to use that as a as
a teaching for film this week teaching moment you just
get beat all the hell and roll over and jump up,
and then it's cause.

Speaker 9 (18:04):
It's a life lesson, like you use that in real life,
like life is gonna whoop you up. Something good got
to just keep getting the finish. But for the most part,
But I like, you.

Speaker 2 (18:15):
Know what, I love how that I love how I
love coming from from behind.

Speaker 3 (18:21):
I don't don't.

Speaker 2 (18:22):
And I said to myself that when we came out
of the breaking with ding a shot Dak, I ride
with the seven points, I went down. I'm too old
for that. Get a heart attack trying to ride the
train every week. On man, what.

Speaker 7 (18:39):
Changed, I mean, what adjustments did they make to go
from the mistake twenty one down to come back.

Speaker 9 (18:45):
I think Philadelphia offensively, they went into the self preservation.

Speaker 3 (18:53):
Well, they went the cruise control. Yeah, because when you.

Speaker 9 (18:55):
Were like, now, I don't want to take anything away
from the defense. I don't want to make it sound
and I'm taking anything away from the defense because they
stood up and they played really really well in the
second half.

Speaker 3 (19:09):
But like when you go back and you watch.

Speaker 9 (19:11):
It, they got super complacent.

Speaker 3 (19:15):
And of course you have, I mean a few injuries.

Speaker 9 (19:20):
Not even that if I'm doing defensively, the Cowboys played
really well on defense. That's what happens, That's.

Speaker 7 (19:30):
What change what they're doing. They just did it better.

Speaker 9 (19:33):
The Cowboys played really well on defense. The Cowboys played
they did they played exceptionally on defense. And one thing
that that Matt eber Flus had decided. I said this
when when he when they first started talking about I'm
still not a fan of the rotation. I'm not. I'm
not a fan of the DB's rotating, the linebackers rotating.

(19:56):
The one thing that Matt eber Flus had decided. Who
ain't gonna rotate quinnin Kenny Osa. Yeah, like outside of
like your secondary, your DB's and your safeties, those three
guys played the most snaps.

Speaker 3 (20:11):
I think Quinn played forty six.

Speaker 9 (20:13):
Uh and then and the Kenny play forty Yeah. No
one nobody else playing, no other linebacker, no other defensive ends,
nobody else played more snaps than them outside of like secondary, Yes,
but like those interior dudes, those front seven dudes, nobody
played more snaps. So Ibra Flues has he has fully
committed and bought into this. We going five man front.

(20:37):
That is that is, that's where they're going. They're going
five man front or however you want to call odd front.
They going they they are going to a five man front.
And he said, I'm selling out with that. Now you
should what he should. But what's gonna The interesting part
now is because if this is your base defense, right,
because you're saying, let's just do the math here, right,

(20:59):
it's the level guys on defense. If you're committing five
up front, that means, now I got two high safeties,
two corners, right, five and four makes nine. That means
you're only gonna either you're either gonna play with two
linebackers or when other teams start going more eleven personnel,
you face more teams that want to go twelve personnel,

(21:20):
one back, two tight ends. So it bodes well a
little bit for you when you have two linebackers in there.
When you have teams and you may see that a
little bit now more with Kansas City where they're gonna
go eleven personnel. Now, are you willing to take a
linebacker off the field for the nickel? And now you

(21:42):
have to play with one linebacker because it's five one linebacker,
six and then four dbs and then the nickel. So
that's that's gonna be the that's gonna be the how
however they decide to do that going forward, this is
gonna be your base defense, that five man from when
you start, like I said, you start playing eleven personnel,

(22:03):
three wide receivers, one back, one tight end, three wide receivers.
You're gonna have to take one of those guys. Either
you're gonna have to ride out with two linebackers. Whoever
that is, right, I don't know if that's gonna be
kid It from Oklahoma and.

Speaker 3 (22:14):
Overshown or Wilson and overshown.

Speaker 2 (22:20):
Yeah, whoever it is overshown and whoever it is.

Speaker 8 (22:23):
What does Kansas City run a lot of.

Speaker 9 (22:26):
I haven't gotten into Kansas City film yet, but I'm
gonna look.

Speaker 3 (22:29):
I know they might.

Speaker 9 (22:30):
Run a lot of eleven personnel, tight end, wire receive, tight end,
three wide receivers in your running. That's eleven personnel. So
you're gonna have a different look this week. So there's
gonna have to be again, if you're fully committed to
five man front, this is what you're gonna have to
be able.

Speaker 2 (22:45):
To out of all of that. One thing that the
last two games have been is at tackling. Yes, Now,
whether they whether Philadelphia came up out of you know,
made it simple or whatever, our guys are tackling better.
Before they they were not tackling. They are tackling a

(23:05):
little bit better and I was.

Speaker 4 (23:07):
Also debatable in the first half because yeah, yeah went
in with my dog gas.

Speaker 8 (23:12):
Comment was like and can't tackle.

Speaker 3 (23:14):
Yeah, no, nicked it up in the second half.

Speaker 9 (23:16):
So when that quarterback draw for a touchdown, three dudes,
mister tackle so bad.

Speaker 2 (23:20):
So bad.

Speaker 4 (23:21):
By the way, Nate, how if you talked to Dion
after after yesterday?

Speaker 2 (23:25):
Yeah, yeah, man, Yeah, he was at the game. Wasn't
day because I was calling my whole Sunday and he
wasn't Amerson and they talking about something. He was at
the game. Yeah, because I didn't watch the game, and and.

Speaker 4 (23:35):
Then Schador just came out earlier today. He's getting the
start again this week, even Gabriel passed concussion from Yeah.

Speaker 2 (23:42):
So the thing is, will the coach, he ran an
old man out of there. You can't keep running the
same old Steale offense, right A. J. Brown. You can't
keep running say it won't Steale offense. The offense is

(24:04):
still for Cleveland no matter who the quarterback has been.
Uh so we'll we'll see. He's gonna have to do
something a little bit different with because this kid, like,
this kid likes to be in the best possible play
he does. He likes to be in the best possible.

Speaker 3 (24:20):
Talking about hurts.

Speaker 2 (24:21):
No, I'm talking about what was about your door? Yeah,
he likes being in the best possible place, so he
gonna ask the coach with Coke, what do I have
a check with me? Do I? You know? And so
that ran the other older guy there because the older
guy wanted to be in a better you know. So
I'm leaving that long. I'm leaving that Cleveland thing. Long.
Come on back here to the Cowboys. I know, I know,

(24:43):
I got gonna get us at the best play, Michael,
except when they put the wrong running back in the backfield.

Speaker 4 (24:48):

Back to Hanging with the Bulls.

Speaker 4 (27:25):
Welcome back to the final segment of Hanging with the
Boys on our way to the Super Bowl twenty tickets
seven eleven open twenty four to seven. Just like our man,
George Pickens was yesterday, Porgy, So what is going on?
What's going on with CD the I think the one

(27:47):
thing it jumped out to me is was the the
pat It should have caught the ball in the end zone,
right tough catch. Guyle over him the receiver on that
play in the end zone. It hits you in the
bread basket. You got to pull that in right. And
then he went back to the sideline. Was he was
he griping at Dak? Was he griping it himself like?

(28:07):
I couldn't really tell what he was saying, but he was.
He was pissed about something.

Speaker 8 (28:11):
What was that all about?

Speaker 3 (28:14):
Can I cut my boy a little bit of slack?

Speaker 9 (28:16):
Sure?

Speaker 3 (28:16):
Can I cut them a little bit of sandy? Yeah,
let me cut see thee a little bit of bell.

Speaker 9 (28:20):
And I know what y'all gonna say, y'all gonna say,
I'm glazing, y'all gonna say I'm pushing the agenda. I'm
as best as I possibly can. I always try to educate.
I'm not making an excuse for CD. If you're going
to be the world's best, if you're going to be
at number one like you've been in this league for
the last five years, you want him to make the catch.

(28:40):
But I can go back and show you in training camp.
Now this is I'm just giving you receiver one on one. Okay,
when you see CD he dropped it. Let's put that
out there. Okay, do you want him to make the
catch solutely? And the gripe wasn't he was griping at Dak.

(29:06):
It was more so you saw him like put his
hand up like up here. Now, this is just Jesse
giving you all receiver one on one. He needs to
make the catch. But as a receiver, when you start
talking about red zone end zone type catches, when you're

(29:29):
the middle to the back of the end zone.

Speaker 3 (29:34):
You want the ball I height in a buff.

Speaker 9 (29:40):
That's why you see the back of the end zone
catches is up high because it allows me to get
my feet down differently than it does anywhere else in
the field. You practiced it, you practice this way. I'll
go back and I'll show you where they did the
drills out in training camp. And it says a practice thing.
When you're in the front of the zone by the

(30:01):
goal line, looking's watch, most of the time, you're gonna
get it belly button low because the idea is to
catch it and get down. So I'm throwing it to
you catching it and getting down because there's more defenders
around you. I don't want to throw it high when
you get hit and gets popped up. Tips and overthrows.

(30:23):
DB's love not making excuses for CD. I'm telling you
why he was doing what he was doing, because he's saying,
I wasn't expecting it here. I was expecting it up
here because in the back of the end zone we
practice this type of catch. But he has to make

(30:45):
the catch now on the sideline. I would like to
believe he was barking at hisself and talking to hisself,
trying to get hisself right.

Speaker 2 (30:56):
Now.

Speaker 9 (30:57):
Here's the part where I go, CD, you have to
get better. Here's where you have to get better as
one of the leaders of this football team. You can't
duck out when things are aren't going.

Speaker 3 (31:09):
Well for you.

Speaker 9 (31:10):
You gotta face the fire. You had a bad game.
It happens to everybody.

Speaker 3 (31:16):
You can't.

Speaker 9 (31:18):
There isn't a great player that has ever come through
any league that has not had a bad game, a
stretch of bad games. Sometimes just you have bad games
against certain teams right now, against Philly this year,
