We very rarely get the heads up, Nate, I'm not

Speaker 3 (02:27):
Usually it's yeah, if you fellas, have a good show.
It's a picture of Arizona.

Speaker 6 (02:32):
This up in Canton.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
They got the Black College Hall of Fame football game.
I can't think of the two teams that are playing.

Speaker 6 (02:40):
And we do it every year.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
It's a way just you know, to get some recognition
for the for the Black college guys, you know, get
them some playing time, get them some TV time, and
can't and bring back all the Black College Hall of
Famers and we just go up and have a good time.
But he was about twenty five or thirty of US show,
you know, yeah, twenty five a third of US shows.

Speaker 6 (03:00):
Man, it's been a long time.

Speaker 5 (03:01):
I was like, how long you've been doing it?

Speaker 6 (03:03):

Speaker 5 (03:06):
Elevent you you were just us.

Speaker 4 (03:08):

Speaker 2 (03:10):
I leave out here early tomorrow morning. Get I want
to drive, man, but my wife don't want me to drive.
I was gonna take off after the show. By what

Speaker 6 (03:31):
Back to the Peanuts.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
Yeah, is it at the Hall of Fame or do
they have Yeah, it's.

Speaker 6 (03:37):
That Canton everything.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
They usually have a little stuff around the hotel that
is about a mile or two a wave. But then
they brought everything in the house. Yes assume you know,
and they're working on now where we're gonna have even
a bigger place in Canton. You know, you know, they
may give us a bus, but if they give it,
they try to put some bus out there.

Speaker 3 (04:02):
They're they're really building that place up.

Speaker 6 (04:05):
Yeah, I was up touch. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (04:10):
That place is when you go to the Hall of
When you go to the Hall of Fame game that weekend,
you walk through it's a that Tom Benson Memorial Stadium
is a high school. You walk through the high school.
The metal detectors are set up in the science lab,
and you go through the security and the T s
A and everything they have the they have the conveyor

(04:32):
belt set up and you walk down the hall.

Speaker 8 (04:35):
I'm sorry, law, that looks so weird now, gear, but
there's lockers on both sides.

Speaker 4 (04:46):
You walk through the high school, go through and then
and then you go out to the field and then
the football locker rooms on the other side of the stadium.
It's wild, but they're really building that campus up there.

Speaker 6 (04:56):
When I first went.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
This section of our building, this second for my hours.
This section of this building that we're in the star. Yes,
it was bigger than the original Hall of Fame. It
is amazing now like a campus. It's like a campus.

Speaker 5 (05:18):
Bro, you been there, just yeah, I've been there.

Speaker 6 (05:22):
I was.

Speaker 5 (05:22):
I went there many many years ago. It was the
seventh grade.

Speaker 6 (05:28):
Really yeah.

Speaker 5 (05:28):
We drove. We drove for a basketball tournament in Ohio
and our coaches took us to the I got I
gotta find a picture. I got a picture in front
of it, like at thet Yeah, all head, believe it
or not. I had a ball head. We all had
cut out. We got it was. It was a dumb idea.
We all, we all did that. And then I played
I played there with the Bengals, and then I played

(05:50):
there with the Cowboys. And who went to the Hall
of Fame that year? I forget. I forget who went
in that year. But that's the year. That was a
crazy year. We had five preseason games. We started in
San Antonio, the training camp started in San Antonio, went
to Oxnard, and then we went to Ohio, came back
to Oxnard to come back to Dallas. It was it

(06:13):
was like was that twenty ten probably that was That
was Okay, I know someone emit Jerry Rice. Yeah, I
don't know I remember who when I know we were
there because one of the big dogs were going was
going in and uh so hopefully if, if, if some
other big dogs going, we'll probably be back playing there again.

Speaker 7 (06:32):
Yeah, I'm sure the game is Virginia Union versus Miles College.

Speaker 6 (06:37):
Yes, yes, thank you, champions of the conference.

Speaker 7 (06:41):
The home of Herbscott.

Speaker 6 (06:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
Really, we've been trying to big big ed uh it
too tall, and trying to get him in our Hall
of Fame for the longest. Everybody fighting for the school.
But anyway, well that's that's good. Good for you when
you come back.

Speaker 6 (06:58):
I'm coming back early Monday. I sure. Man, oh boy,
I want to drive fly.

Speaker 3 (07:04):
I can't believe you flying. I can't believe wife talking
and flying. You know how many times a year do
you fly?

Speaker 9 (07:11):
Uh hmm, counting this one, probably once.

Speaker 6 (07:16):
Once twice a year. What the thing is.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
If it's something that I'm a family emergency or something
like that, I just jumped right on it. But believe
it or not, now I do have uh that extra
big card that you pay the extra fuf for the.

Speaker 6 (07:31):
For the go into the rooms.

Speaker 2 (07:33):
You know you admiral, remember, yeah, yeah, yeah, I am that.
My wife like, I don't understand it. You don't like flying,
but your admiral, I said, when I do go to
this hotel, you know, let me do this.

Speaker 6 (07:45):
This one reason I got it.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
When I used to drink, I was finna get right, you.

Speaker 5 (07:52):
Want to do in private?

Speaker 6 (07:55):
Just never care? You wheel me to the plane.

Speaker 3 (07:57):
Now, all right, we'll drink. So you'll be back Monday.

Speaker 6 (08:02):
Kurt?

Speaker 3 (08:02):
Are you out next week or you still don't know?

Speaker 7 (08:04):
I'll be out Tuesday, back Friday.

Speaker 3 (08:07):
Where are you going?

Speaker 5 (08:08):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (08:09):
You knows when it's on the show. Yeah, that's why
we don't ever get aheads up.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
That's what when you have young kids?

Speaker 5 (08:17):
What are you going?

Speaker 6 (08:19):
What you doing?

Speaker 3 (08:19):
What you back?

Speaker 6 (08:22):
Why you so quiet?

Speaker 3 (08:25):
So where you going?

Speaker 5 (08:28):
Little h little trip to Denver? A little trip to Denver?

Speaker 3 (08:32):
What are you going to Denver?

Speaker 7 (08:33):
For family?

Speaker 5 (08:34):
I'm getting all in your bit on there that I
don't want to tell you know, Kurt, don't want to
tell us what nothing.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
We get all break You be like look asking me
what's going on?

Speaker 6 (08:45):
All right?

Speaker 5 (08:45):
Well, good day?

Speaker 3 (08:46):
What are you doing this weekend?

Speaker 5 (08:47):
Yes, I'll be at the crip.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
Yeah, labor day, long weekend, no plans.

Speaker 5 (08:51):
All right, but I've been working hard this week. Yeah,
it's good for you.

Speaker 3 (08:55):
I saw you. I mean that was a quick flight.
Good morning football, This morning's back in the studio.

Speaker 6 (09:00):
You go, there, you go.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
So why do people get you confused with the other
guy with the dreads.

Speaker 5 (09:07):
Gotta be racist. It's gotta be racist. It's gotta be
I had no idea it.

Speaker 4 (09:16):
Ain't racist because people that like anybody that's got a beard.
And when I had spiky short hair, if I had
short hair, I got pulled over by a cop one
time because he thought I was the dude off gas
Monkey garage and he just wanted to talk to me
about cars, ain't him.

Speaker 3 (09:32):
He was like, well, you're only going like two miles
an hours speeding limit.

Speaker 4 (09:36):
I'm gonna let you go. But I really thought you
were airing on gas Monkey. I think it's just a look.

Speaker 2 (09:41):
Let me say this's justice. So you feel good. The
other guy that get get called you every time, that's right, Yeah, yeah,
Isaiah get called jess it every time.

Speaker 6 (09:53):
Yes he does.

Speaker 5 (09:55):
I don't. I don't get it. And and what makes
you know, what really makes me feel bad?

Speaker 3 (10:00):
What not?

Speaker 5 (10:00):
The fact that you call me Isaiah is that I
know I'm a better looking man than him.

Speaker 3 (10:07):
Lady told you something.

Speaker 6 (10:09):
Here we go.

Speaker 5 (10:10):
This is no knock on him, This is no knock
on him, no knock on him. I get upset because
I'm like, I didn't leave a good enough impression that
you would think that we were even remotely close to
look the same. So that's what gets me upset. But
what think's my man? Like, that's my guy, that's my dude.
But he's just uglier than you. I didn't say he

(10:32):
was uglier than me. I'm saying I'm the more handsome
of the two. That means you think he's uglier than
I'm more handsome. Okay, Yeah, that's.

Speaker 3 (10:40):
A good debate. That'd be a good Twitter question on
the hanging with some boys ex account Kurt.

Speaker 5 (10:45):
No, Kurt, No, you don't thank thank you?

Speaker 4 (10:49):
Pass all right, Well we've almost successfully burned the whole
first segment.

Speaker 3 (10:52):
What are you doing this weekend? Chris? Maybe to ask you, No,
I'm not doing anything.

Speaker 6 (11:01):
I have no plans, Chriscott.

Speaker 3 (11:03):
I don't have I don't have plans.

Speaker 6 (11:04):
Yet, Chris, got the kids tomorrow?

Speaker 5 (11:07):
No, it's not tomorrow. I don't have the kids tomorrow Tuesday?

Speaker 2 (11:10):
Tuesday, are both of them going to be up here?

Speaker 3 (11:15):
Probably okay? Because Gray was asking, well.

Speaker 9 (11:17):
I mean, we're gonna leave him both. I can leave
him both at home. You know, I have to buy
like five more cameras from my house.

Speaker 6 (11:24):
True, just let me know if they're there.

Speaker 3 (11:25):
We'll just have a party up here. So yeah, I'm
sure all the people up there appreciate it.

Speaker 4 (11:29):
And Jesse I told him off air, but I'll tell
everybody on air if you listen to the show yesterday.
I had my one first of two fantasy drafts last night.

Speaker 3 (11:38):
I know Nate doesn't play fantasy football.

Speaker 4 (11:39):
I played real football, and Jesse Smooths with his comic
yesterday got in my head and I took Dak Prescott
about two rounds before I should have taken him because
he's gonna be slinging the rock all over the place.
And speaking of there is a ESPN story that says
George Pickens is the Cowboys X factor this season. Says

(12:03):
he and Cede Lamb could be the best wide receiver
duo in the league.

Speaker 3 (12:08):
Do you agree with that, Jesse.

Speaker 5 (12:09):
I do, And partly a large part of that is
because I believe that CD is about to ascend to
the next, next level. He's already in the conversation.

Speaker 3 (12:22):
Can he get better?

Speaker 5 (12:23):
Yeah? How how can he get better?

Speaker 2 (12:25):
His route running was much smoother, coming out of his
brakes was nicer, his hands was outstanding.

Speaker 5 (12:33):
And it's it's not when you when you start talking
about the elites, right, I don't know if it's about
getting better, it's about just the confidence. Like when you
walk onto the field and you know that you know that,
you know that, you know Okay, Jason, that I'm that,

(12:56):
I'm just him like that.

Speaker 3 (12:59):
It's a different level.

Speaker 5 (13:00):
It's a different level that just it's it's that permeates from,
you know, just the aura around you. And I think
CD is I'm gonna tell you what really sold me
when he like I watch him at training camp, I
see him around here. But when he came to that podium.

Speaker 6 (13:21):
You're talking about his first interview.

Speaker 5 (13:22):
When he came to that podium got me. When he
came to that podium and this is just and this
is like, it's one thing. If it's if it's a
dude who's always talking loud, you know, always talking, he goes, ah,
he's just talking but when it comes from a dude
who doesn't necessarily is is a talker, not a tweeter,

(13:45):
not a talker, not a you know, you know, you
don't hear from him much, you know, and it's required
days you hear from him. But other than that, very
few like you don't. There's not a bunch of ceedee
lamb audio just floating around. But he came to that
podium and he told them for and and the way
I looked at it was he's to me. He came

(14:07):
to that podium and he let folks know I've been
saying all the right things about this George Pickens. I
enjoyed George Pickens being here. He's a great addition to
our team. But if you think that I'm not him,
I'm getting ready to show y'all. I'll show y'all in
a couple of weeks.

Speaker 3 (14:28):
So you think he's pushing CD to be.

Speaker 6 (14:31):
No, no, no, no, no, no no no. This was coming.

Speaker 5 (14:35):
This was just a reminder. This was just like, Hey,
I know I don't say much. I know what everyone's
clamoring over number three rightfully, So glad to have him here.
Just so y'all don't forget and and I said it
on another show about there was a time where Kevin
Durant was on the Warriors and they were having this
back and forth between him and Pat Beverly. And in

(14:57):
that press conference, Kevin Durant sitting here and the reporter
asked him, like, oh, you know, what do you think
he's gonna say about to Pat Beverley, And Kevin Durant
looks at him and he goes, I'm Kevin Durant. You
know who I am, right, looks around the room, he goes,
y'all know who I am, right, I'm Kevin Durant, And
like that moment, for me, I was like, oh, yeah,
that's the baddest that's the baddest score that we got

(15:18):
in this league, not Steph, not Lebron. And that's what
CD said when CD basically said, yes, I'm cdee Lamb.
You know who I am, right, y'all, y'all know who
I am?

Speaker 6 (15:28):
Right.

Speaker 5 (15:28):
So great to have that young man with me, and
it'll be a pleasure to to take the field with him.
But if y'all forgot I'm the guy, if you just
so happened to not remember, if your memory is lacking
a little bit of a bandwidth and I'll show you.
And I was like, his dude, is he is that

(15:53):
that right there that puts you over the top. The
skills are there, but it's that level of confidence of no,
I am the baddest dude out here, and it's not false.
It's like I've shown you and you look what he
did last year with the backup quarterback and a bump
shoulder all year and still gave you over a thousand
yards was still unguardable. And it was with CD and

(16:14):
the Maybies, CDs and the others. Yeah, man, I'm telling
you that that I'm I'm I'm I'm all in, all right.

Speaker 9 (16:23):
But in saying that CD is happy that he is here,
trust me, No, no, no, there's no like.

Speaker 3 (16:28):
I don't make sure you're not sound like there's beef.

Speaker 9 (16:31):
There's not.

Speaker 5 (16:31):
No did I sound like that? No no, no, I'm saying
make sure no no, no, no no, I'm not saying
that at all. I'm saying CD is is glad that
George is here. But he's also reminding people I like,
I've been him. I've been him and that's going to
continue to be him. But I'm happy this guy. I
don't want to sound there's no beef there, but I'm
just CD is.

Speaker 2 (16:51):
Just And on top of that, man, I'm telling you
the routes, the Christmas h in the way he spoke
about you fake not fake. But what he's the things
he said about working with Dak, how he felt he
let the team down, that CD go back and listen

(17:14):
to him when he was a rookie and listen to
him now, and what Jesse saying, the confidence is just
and the saying it the right way, no disrespect to
no one, you know. And and I'm not gonna put him.
I'm not gonna put in with Mike because Mike, I'm
telling Michael Jordan's just blow you off.

Speaker 6 (17:33):
Mike used to be like for real and just walk
off right. You know That's that's a whole different.

Speaker 5 (17:38):
You know that score fifty on you and be like
what you say?

Speaker 2 (17:41):
Yeah, yeah, so you don't know what you don't know?

Speaker 6 (17:45):
But CD know, now.

Speaker 3 (17:47):
This is what you're four or five? Five?

Speaker 6 (17:50):
Four or five for him?

Speaker 5 (17:53):
Five? Yeah, he's up there.

Speaker 4 (17:55):
Five, So season five for him is there a It
seem like receivers are getting acclimated.

Speaker 3 (18:02):
Earlier and earlier in their career.

Speaker 4 (18:05):
We've talked about on here because the college games changed
and they're more NFL ready, it also seems like their
careers are starting to get longer because they're taking care
of their bodies and and.

Speaker 5 (18:16):
You know, nobody's n nobody across the head of Yeah,
you know what I'm saying, like that, you can't GM
at the line, can't hit the middle.

Speaker 4 (18:24):
Your body's not taking the wed care. But is there
a is there a maturation point with the receiver that
you feel like it it all kind of clicks, is it?

Speaker 3 (18:34):
Is it around this time? Or is it just a
gradual Usually a gradual progression until you lose the physical traits.

Speaker 4 (18:41):
You know, sometimes with the with the quarterback, it's like
all of a sudden year three, Oh my god, he
just took a huge leap. Can receivers do that or
are they just kind of a gradual project.

Speaker 2 (18:51):
Some some guys come with it. Some guys come with it.
That dude that you know, that dude that played for
the Bengals, Chase, Yeah, he came with it, and and
it probably was easier because his quarterback came with him too.
It probably was easier, much easier. But we saw how

(19:13):
cd Row but his kid from New York. I keep
hearing about.

Speaker 5 (19:17):
It, neighbors, neighbors. Is he gonna be like that? Because
he said he is, like he's like that.

Speaker 2 (19:22):
Okay, I'm telling you, bro, he like that.

Speaker 5 (19:27):
Problem is he's just a quarterback. And see that's the difference,
is like Jamar Chase has a quarterback. Yeah, you know
CD in his progression. You know, I'll take Dak over
any quarterback that the Giants have had in the last
ten years. There's some dudes that are like that that
don't have the facilities of a quarterback for that to

(19:48):
really prosper. But to answer your point, it's both. It's both.
I think CD. When CD came into the league, he
had to learn kind of that he was still a dog,
but it was still like let me, let me learn it,
let me learn it. And then he had Omari that
was here, which was a great teacher for him, like

(20:11):
to give you the nuances of route running. But once
he figured it out and that confidence started to build.
And then I remember I told you guys like this
like to maybe like two off seasons ago when when
they came back and had practice here and I got
to see him in person, and I looked at it
a little bit. That joke is a man like you
saw the man and like, oh you you suck. I'm like, nah,

(20:33):
I can look at a dude and be like, oh,
the kid is off of him. This is this is
man right here, and it's like, you know, the cahouna
is drop And he just looked he just looked.

Speaker 6 (20:44):
Full, like a pit bull in the summer town.

Speaker 5 (20:46):
He just looked full, you know what I'm saying. And
I was like, dude is taking and next thing, you.

Speaker 6 (20:52):
Know, boom, yeah. Five.

Speaker 5 (20:56):
Now all left of him is go and get that
number one spot. And if he stays healthy and Dak
stays healthy this year, I'm telling you we may come
down to the conversation at the end of this year
of not as OCD top three wide receivers. I think
he's that now, top three, top four if you want
to argue, it's gonna be the guy who's won.

Speaker 3 (21:15):

Speaker 3 (23:55):
Where do you.

Speaker 5 (23:56):
Feel I told you ally, I know why I stand
when you say I feel good.

Speaker 3 (24:01):
He feels good.

Speaker 2 (24:02):
There You're putting the whole team on his back.

Speaker 3 (24:05):
He got to how do y'all feel about the running game?

Speaker 4 (24:07):
Because running well exactly, Like, how do we feel about that?

Speaker 2 (24:11):
That's just but like what took that off ahead of
my homes?

Speaker 6 (24:18):
What is that?

Speaker 4 (24:18):
We gotta we have to at least act like we're
going to run sometimes. What's the what is what is
the depth chart? Listen, who's our starting Williams right now?
And then who's behind him?

Speaker 7 (24:29):
I've seen the official chart.

Speaker 6 (24:33):
The thing, the thing is the same.

Speaker 2 (24:36):
You can talk about this because we've seen they had
a lot of unbalanced line. They open up in training
camp almost every day when they did run periods, so
they had unbalanced lines. And unbalanced lines is when you
take a tackle and put him on the same side
as another tackle. You can even you know, you can
leave the guard center, or you can leave a tackle

(24:58):
over there and bring a tackle as a ta in
and overbalance it. So they did a lot of that.
Guys was doing formation at the formation. In formation, I
mean they did a lot of it. So I'm not
saying they're not gonna run the ball, but they put
their seventh position that because this was done in training camp.
That's why I'm speaking on it. If it was done

(25:18):
behind in the stadium, I wouldn't be saying a word.
But they've done that all training camp. That's you know,
so maybe that is their way of So answer me this.

Speaker 5 (25:27):
Riddle me this as as someone who is and was
a part of a dominant offensive line, because I look
at certain things and I go whenever you have to
start tricking things up as your base package, that tells
me that you don't have enough to you're not confident. Yeah,

(25:47):
you're not coming to confident. Like it's one thing to
kind of throw a wrinkle. A wrinkle is fine. I
think a wrinkle is a smart thing to do. But
if a part of what your base is and how
this is how we're going to do this on a
regular basis that we have to bring in another tackle
as a tight end and you you got to come
to the refs and become eligible and all that kind
of stuff, because you don't quite feel comfortable with that,

(26:09):
Like that is that a bad sign of what we
have in the offensive line?

Speaker 2 (26:14):
You know, if I knew what this offensive line really was,
I saw what they was in practice and training camp.
I saw they had good days and average days. You know,
they have good days and every day. They never really
just had a bad day. But that was only in practice.
We have not seen these guys live, and for me
to just uh, you know, and I know this is

(26:35):
what we're supposed to do.

Speaker 6 (26:36):
People keep telling me, man, you gotta make a prediction,
you gotta.

Speaker 2 (26:39):
I don't know if you asked me to grade this
office line, it's to me it's a C line, it's
a C plus line. Because I have not seen these
guys against the live. I'm gonna get down that I'm
better than you. I haven't seen it, So I'm with you.
We never had to and and I'm not saying they

(26:59):
are of them. But when you got a line, you
line up and you play with what you got right,
and you go get a tight end.

Speaker 6 (27:07):
You know. That's that's the thing.

Speaker 2 (27:08):
That's why Ferguson has hoping that he's healthy, that he's
one hundred percent better in line blocker and just go
with what you got.

Speaker 7 (27:17):
So what would you say, I mean, last year's line
couldn't have been any better than a CEE and you
know they had a thousand yard rusher out of that.
Did any Rico Dado. You know, I don't think any
of us really expected him to do a lot someone.
I guess my point is, if that line holds up,
Gavante Williams could get the job done, couldn't he.

Speaker 2 (27:34):
The thing about a run game, and this is my
question to anybody, is what's your panic line. Well, coach
part Sales up until maybe nine minutes left in the
fourth quarter, that was his panic line. Okay, we give up.
He don't worry about this running. We got to throw

(27:56):
the ball, we got to get back in here. But
he also had a defense that could hold up Kellen Moore.
So three minutes in the game and it came, and
believe it or not, he came down to six minutes
into the first quarter. Michael from Pittsburgh. He did the
same thing just until that got hurt. That's what predicated

(28:17):
that we started running more that got hurt. They finally
got Martin off the field, so that you know, they boom, So.

Speaker 6 (28:24):
Now they started running. That's why they started running.

Speaker 2 (28:26):
But if I want to see what coach threshold is,
is it seven points? If is it ten points? Is
because if it's ten points, you can be down by ten.
But once again, do you have a defense. Do you
have a light size special teams that can flip the
field and your defense maintain that to give you that

(28:48):
ball back to the offense. So it's a lot of
things predicated on that. You know, you know a lot
of times Jef say, man, don't run the ball, just
run the ball. I agree, don't run the ball, run
the ball. But if you don't have a good team,
run the ball.

Speaker 3 (29:00):
Let me ask y'all this. Y'all played the game, You've
been around the game, old lives. Have you ever seen.

Speaker 4 (29:07):
A really good, above average offensive line that had a
terrible run game or a really bad offensive line with
a great running back that had a great run game.

Speaker 3 (29:23):
Don't you have to have.

Speaker 5 (29:24):
Well to answer the second question first, and this goes
back to.

Speaker 3 (29:27):
Sids Barry Sanders, that's the only one, right.

Speaker 7 (29:30):
Unless you have that elite back on Walter Payton.

Speaker 4 (29:32):
Right, but even that, like Emmett, wasn't Emmit without these guys, right,
Emmit with a below.

Speaker 6 (29:39):
Average we wasn't. We wasn't that?

Speaker 3 (29:42):
And to see it kind of goes to right to.

Speaker 6 (29:44):
Have a run game, To have a real, real run game,
you got to.

Speaker 2 (29:48):
Have offensive I arguing with a guy the other day,
and I shouldn't even argue with him because you got
you don't know, you don't know drawn off side. Yeah,
you got to have. I tell people, if you can
give me a C plus B offensive line, you can

(30:10):
ride to the super Bowl. I have seen it too
many times. You can ride it to this with with
what kind of with he's Emmitt Smith.

Speaker 3 (30:18):
Oh it would be a good back.

Speaker 2 (30:19):
Oh man, if you got a great back, that takes
us off because the way you run gonna help us block.

Speaker 3 (30:25):
But if you have a bad offensive line and you
have a great back.

Speaker 6 (30:28):
You just wishing you spinning wheel. You have no.

Speaker 2 (30:31):
Yeah, because that he But you can give you an
example sa Kwon Barkley in New York. I'm gonna get
this the perfect example. What happened to second? Yeah he
runs for twelve hundred yard, but he stayed hurt.

Speaker 4 (30:42):
But now, so the flip to that is, if you
have a good B plus or better offense, you.

Speaker 2 (30:49):
Can give you another example. Troy only Montgomery before the
other kid got there?

Speaker 4 (30:54):
Right with with a below average running back, you can
still have a great running.

Speaker 6 (30:58):
Game Montgomery Detroit before the other kids.

Speaker 4 (31:02):
One's gotta be yes, sir, one of them. We gotta
be really solid and then it's the same.

Speaker 2 (31:08):
If you got a real solid deal that it was
San Francisco before McCaffrey.

Speaker 6 (31:14):
Before McCaffrey.

Speaker 5 (31:15):
You think about the Rams, Yeah, at those running backs. Yes,
they didn't have you didn't have lea running backs.

Speaker 6 (31:20):
But they had a nice offensive line.

Speaker 5 (31:22):
Line and a good scheme and they were able to
elevate it.

Speaker 2 (31:24):
The Yeah, the Eagles before ship got there. So no,
they've been good, they've been great. They be their a
office flat.

Speaker 5 (31:34):
But but I mean they had before Sakuon. They had
Miles the standards of the world. He has some other
but it wasn't It wasn't. That's when you started seeing
Jalen Hurt have to do more in the running game.
Didn't have that running back. They had a really good
offensive line, but they were a lot more on the
quarterback doing the right a Roman because they didn't have
those other backs. You add Saquon to the mix and
you go.

Speaker 2 (31:52):
Because we had Terrence Flagler who was thought to be
a nice running back, and another another couple of guys
that we thought would nice running backs, and then but
they were just okay. It was just okay because we
found out, it was just okay because when Emm it came,
it all changed, you know.

Speaker 5 (32:12):
And it's even when you're talking about running the ball,
there's so much into that, like, yeah, because a running
back can help the offensive. If I'm too fast and
getting where I'm supposed to get to, then you don't
let the offensive lineman get to their blocks. And now
it's just three yards in the cloud of dust. But
if I'm a back and I'm patient enough and I can,
a back can set the linebacker up and they're ten

(32:35):
yards apart.

Speaker 6 (32:35):
Yeah, but the way.

Speaker 5 (32:36):
He moves can have that linebacker take a step over
and then now when he put his foot in the
ground and come back, here go that guard is there
cashing into that linebacker? Now that block is there? You know? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (32:47):
Is there all back in the league or in the
last five or teams. It just seems like when you
watch Emmitt and Walter. Payton Barry was a different whole,
different beast. But Emmitt and Walter it was like poetry
because they would they would slow down and there's so
many videos like with his hand on the back of alignment,
waiting on that right going Is that is that the

(33:10):
equivalent of being a patient running back because there's not
a lot of them.

Speaker 5 (33:13):
And Aveon Bell go watch Le'Veon Bell, and Le'Veon Bell
was and I'm gonna be honest, he was rolling.

Speaker 2 (33:21):
Only Barrier was better and patience, only Barrier was better.
To be able to do what Barry and Le'Veon did,
that means you got the ultimate explosives. That means you
to see hole. A lot of a lot of coaches say, seahole,
get in hole, be through hold.

Speaker 6 (33:42):
When you seehole, that means you already threw it.

Speaker 2 (33:45):
Le'Veon had the ability to almost walk up to the
line and see a hole and just take off. Man,
he had some explosives. That's why he couldn't miss a year.
And when he missed that year, he lost that. He
lost that explosiveness.

Speaker 3 (34:00):
All right, good stuff, Let's take our last break.

Speaker 3 (37:45):
Breaking news.

Speaker 5 (37:46):
D don't do that because people are gonna think breaking
news is really bad.

Speaker 3 (37:51):
We have a number, Jersey, I said.

Speaker 5 (37:54):
I tweeted the other morning. I just put let's go
because I was excited. I just got finished reading the
word it was. It felt good to me.

Speaker 6 (37:59):
I put it.

Speaker 5 (38:00):
People got mad at me. I said, they said, because
you're to the cowboys, you you uh you, I'm engagement farming.
I said, what did I do? Casement? And they're like,
you put let's go. I was like, what a word.

Speaker 3 (38:12):
I was like, yeah, farming. We've gone from clickbait to engagem.

Speaker 6 (38:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (38:16):
I was like what. I'm like, they got mad because.

Speaker 6 (38:17):
They say, hold on that, y'all know him. Lost wasn't
the word. What is?

Speaker 4 (38:21):
What is engagement is when somebody puts something out on
X or Instagram and someone likes, comments or interacts with it.

Speaker 3 (38:29):
So you're trying to get engagement. So he farming.

Speaker 5 (38:32):
Capital let's go with a lot of O's right at
like seven o'clock this morning the other morning. What's right
around because right around the time I get friends, my
work out and get my word in.

Speaker 4 (38:42):
So people are accusing him of saying something's happening behind
the scenes.

Speaker 5 (38:46):
I was like, they're like, oh, why you do that.
I was like, I'm just excited about life. The Lord.
I'm like, they're like, oh, you're engagment farming. You close
to the cowboys, you know something like that. Gotta sticking out, man.

Speaker 2 (38:57):
I showed what you will stop with all this? I'm thinking,
why did I miss? I thought it was a trade
of something.

Speaker 4 (39:05):
We got some Jersey update numbers, right, Chris, we do well,
we got uh there's about five here or ten, but
I'm only going to give you the ones that I
think is relevant to the situation.

Speaker 3 (39:17):
Jaden Blue changed his number, thank god.

Speaker 9 (39:19):
Yes he is now twenty three, which I believe was
his college Yes, yes, he probably went. I think he
said something on his ex account yesterday.

Speaker 3 (39:30):
Was that Bashard's number?

Speaker 5 (39:31):
Yeah it was?

Speaker 3 (39:32):
It was O there you go? How about that?

Speaker 5 (39:34):
And coached him?

Speaker 3 (39:36):
Yep at Texas? Here you go? There we go.

Speaker 9 (39:39):
So Miles Sanders will not be in twenty seven anymore. Okay,
he's now in twenty four.

Speaker 5 (39:44):
Okay, whichever actually four at Penn State.

Speaker 9 (39:47):
All right, twenty four yeah, okay, so he's back to
his pen sate.

Speaker 3 (39:51):
Twenty seven to me is a dB number.

Speaker 5 (39:54):
And did George say otherwise?

Speaker 3 (39:56):
That's a good point. That's a great point.

Speaker 9 (39:58):
Okay, never mind, are we calling tra queeze wheezy or
what are we doing there?

Speaker 5 (40:03):
If you can pronounce it, great weezy.

Speaker 3 (40:06):
Okay, so tee weez, yeah queeze.

Speaker 9 (40:10):
So we're gonna Wheezy Bridges is at twenty five now,
so he took Booth's number.

Speaker 3 (40:14):
Okay, thank god?

Speaker 9 (40:16):
And then ready Stewart is going to be number twenty
seven in your program.

Speaker 5 (40:20):
All right, ob.

Speaker 3 (40:21):
Does well, that's a fun name. Ready, ready, Stewart.

Speaker 7 (40:24):
That is that nickname? Surely that is sure for something else?

Speaker 5 (40:30):
I mean it's spelled art.

Speaker 3 (40:32):
Are you ready?

Speaker 9 (40:33):
It's Rederick by the way, Redick Rederick, that's his name,
and he goes by ready, so you're ready. We've got
one guy on IR that changed his number, which would
be Chevron Ravel. He was at twenty seven at camp.
Now he is at thirty four.

Speaker 3 (40:49):
What is your favorite it's a bat CD number, though,
is bulky?

Speaker 5 (40:53):
It's just a he's a taller guy too. He's a tall,
slender guy. So thirty four looks that box.

Speaker 9 (41:01):
We need to go look at the open numbers and
try to get that changed.

Speaker 4 (41:04):
Give him a number, Lobby, get what's your favorite football
name of all time?

Speaker 5 (41:10):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (41:10):
Mine?

Speaker 4 (41:11):
Mine?

Speaker 3 (41:11):
I think is Macho Harris? Just the name macho for
a football player?

Speaker 5 (41:16):
I think? Is he played at Virginia Tech, didn't he?

Speaker 3 (41:18):
I think?

Speaker 6 (41:18):
So?

Speaker 5 (41:18):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (41:19):
Macho? Do y'all have a do y'all.

Speaker 7 (41:22):
Have a favorite name infatuated with Hollywood Henderson.

Speaker 4 (41:25):
Yeah, to me, that was won the lottery twice?

Speaker 5 (41:29):
Is that right? Won it lost in one of the game.
How do you do that? You can't even you know
what I'm saying. I can't get with the five kid
days and I'm living.

Speaker 4 (41:37):
First, you hit the genetic lottery, you're in the NFL.
Then you hit the literal lottery and you lose it all.
And then you hit the literal lottery again.

Speaker 3 (41:43):
That's unbelievable.

Speaker 5 (41:47):
I mean bias, a little bit of bias for me. Sure,
I mean Jesse Holly Well, j Holly Hollywood. No prime,
I'm not prime, but playmakers kind of playmaker, Like that's
to be a receiver. And did he give himself that
nickname or did someone else get that's nickname?

Speaker 13 (42:06):
That's not like his name Okay, right, okay, like a
real name. Yeah, oh shoot, but that's not Macho's not
his real name. Is Macho's not.

Speaker 6 (42:17):
His real name?

Speaker 5 (42:18):
It is look it up, Kurt Harris, Monchell Harris is
not really Okay, what about nick?

Speaker 9 (42:23):
But that's what he goes by, like, you know, like
ready is what he goes by.

Speaker 3 (42:27):
Her Victor.

Speaker 4 (42:28):
Okay, well darn that kind of takes away from snacks.

Speaker 3 (42:33):
I like snacks.

Speaker 5 (42:34):
I like snacks.

Speaker 3 (42:35):
Yes, snacks was a good one.

Speaker 9 (42:36):
And he and he was a defensive tackle.

Speaker 3 (42:38):
Right, what's your favorite? Nate gobble up running back?

Speaker 6 (42:41):
Have one, bro, I'm sorry about this one. I don't
have one. Mm hmm. I'm thinking hard.

Speaker 3 (42:46):
The Minister of defense. That's a pretty good one, Reggie
White defense.

Speaker 5 (42:53):
Man.

Speaker 3 (42:53):
We run out of we've run out of stuff.

Speaker 6 (42:55):
Sweetness what I was?

Speaker 3 (42:58):
All right, Nate, you're not here to mall. We won't
be back till tuesday.

Speaker 4 (43:01):
Is there anything you want to talk about before we
before we head out?

Speaker 6 (43:04):
No? Man, that's just been a good show. Man, it's
been a good show.

Speaker 3 (43:09):
The best show.

Speaker 4 (43:09):
We think the best shows are the ones we don't
talk a lot of football because we talk about so
much football. I bet our fans hate shows like today.
Anything you want to touch on, Jess.

Speaker 6 (43:20):
What is happening over there?

Speaker 8 (43:21):
Man?

Speaker 5 (43:22):
You know, here's what I do want to touch on. Man,
Like just we are seven days away from opening up.
It doesn't feel like it, and my question doesn't. My
question was going to be where is your excitement level for?
That's a great one week away, like we are, we are.
We've been waiting, what's the song? Waiting all day for Sunday.

(43:43):
We've been waiting all you know.

Speaker 4 (43:46):
Why because there's always distractions around here, always this year
with the Netflix thing and with the Mica stuff, and
to change is coming in and the coaching change, and
like the we we have not talked about the product
on the field hardly at all.

Speaker 5 (44:08):
So one being I'm out ten being football horn knee.
Where are you at for the Cowboys kicking off their
season in seven days?

Speaker 3 (44:24):
Man, that is a great question. I'm I'm more nervous
than anything.

Speaker 5 (44:30):
Honestly, I'm nervous.

Speaker 4 (44:32):
I'm never gonna be at one because it's football season,
because all thirty two teams got the same amount of
hope until that first game in reality smacks you right
in the face and you go.

Speaker 3 (44:42):
You get punched.

Speaker 4 (44:42):
Everybody's got a plan, right, I'm honestly probably for the
actual season, probably a nine for this actual team on
the field I think I have. I have such low expectations,
like I would not be shocked if they win five
games this year. I would not be shocked if they
win eleven eleven, if they win ten games this year, So.

Speaker 3 (45:07):
I think.

Speaker 4 (45:10):
I'm probably at about a six for this team the season.
I'm I think the league is in a as good
a spot as ever as far as like the drama
and the storylines and how the season is setting up.

Speaker 5 (45:21):
But I'm into six, Nate.

Speaker 6 (45:25):
You're talking about for the season.

Speaker 2 (45:27):
Sure, yes, sir, I'm excited, man, I'm overjoyed. Man, I'm
at a ten. I'm hyped. I'm ready, man, I want
to see something for the Cowboys, yes, sir, Yes, sir.

Speaker 7 (45:41):
I'm kind of feel the same way. I'm excited for
the season. My expectations are low for the Cowboys. So
I'm like eight for the season and six or something
seven for the Cowboys.

Speaker 3 (45:51):
Where you at?

Speaker 6 (45:52):
Jesse?

Speaker 5 (45:52):
Wait? Yeah, Jess, I'm ten for the season?

Speaker 6 (45:55):
Right? I love Yeah, I'm ten.

Speaker 3 (45:58):
Been too long.

Speaker 5 (45:59):
It's been too long. I get to get back on
my element. Like someone text me the other day and
was just like they saw something on Twinter that was
like you look happy, and I was like, you have
no idea mailbox?

Speaker 4 (46:12):
Money shake starting to get cashed, the weather's getting in
the eighties.

Speaker 5 (46:17):
Let's go for the for the Cowboys. I am I'm
so turned off.

Speaker 3 (46:22):
Are you really, I am when did it start in
the last season two seasons ago?

Speaker 6 (46:28):
No?

Speaker 5 (46:28):
No, because, like I was, they let they let go
of Michael from Pittsburgh and I was like, okay. Then
I was I'm like, maybe we'll go out and we'll,
you know, really get a Ben Johnson type and it
didn't happen. They got shot out. Was kind of like, oh.
Then the draft came. I was like, all right, okay,
I can you know, and I'm like, let's see what
they add. Then it was kind of a dead period

(46:50):
and they go George Pickets and I'm like, okay, all right,
let's you know, it's like doing enough to kind of
keep it interested, but never really doing enough to really
put you off the top, right, And that might be
like the formula of how Jerry operates. And then I'm like,
as the season goes on, I'm listening, I'm watching, I'm listening,
I'm watching it.

Speaker 3 (47:12):
My love for.

Speaker 5 (47:13):
CD's gotten greater as i'm watching them over and then
I get the training camp and I'm looking, I'm listening
and watching. And then I'm at training camp, I'm looking,
I'm listening and watching it. I'm just like, and then
this drama comes with the micro situation and I'm I'm
I'm so down trotting on this man. I'm probably like
around five five point seven because.

Speaker 3 (47:34):
Of the non football non.

Speaker 5 (47:37):
We're not ready to play football. There's no way, there's
no way that you're truly locked in and focused on.
There's too much going on, man, there's too much going on.
It's too distractions, A lot of distractions for a guy
in his first year as a Cowboys head coach, first
year as a head coach period, it's a lot happening.

Speaker 6 (47:56):
Man.

Speaker 5 (47:56):
This defense still looks at least front, there's I have
zero hope of anything up front. No no disrespect to
Solomon and and Toya and Masie, no disrespect to your
man and oh Sudd, no disrespect to you guys. I
just I've been around I've been around here for I've
been around here long to know, like, and then you're

(48:19):
telling me you won't have the best dude on that
across that line. What little they were able to do
was because of what eleven provided them to do. And
now you're telling me I might not have eleven or
I might not have eleven at a full go.

Speaker 6 (48:39):
Hard to get excited.

Speaker 5 (48:41):
Yeah, man, I'm I'm I'm I'm high on I'm high
on what this passing game will be. But everything else, Yeah, all.

Speaker 4 (48:48):
Right, go draft Ceed Lamb and Dak Prescott and your
fantasy drafts.

Speaker 3 (48:53):
Do you like me?

Speaker 6 (48:53):
Get them on the team to talk.

Speaker 4 (48:58):
I was at the sixth, Jesse off the air, I'm
probably gonna be down to a three.

Speaker 3 (49:05):
Off the cliff.

Speaker 6 (49:05):
I jump.

Speaker 5 (49:06):
I want to be excited like I want to be excited.
I do.

Speaker 7 (49:09):
I want like fans, so we want them people.

Speaker 5 (49:13):
Nobody wants the Cowboys win more than me.

Speaker 4 (49:15):
But you know what, all it would take is going
to Philadelphia and beating them by one point Thursday night, and.

Speaker 3 (49:23):
You definitely would go from four to about a nine
and a half.

Speaker 5 (49:27):
But it'll it would creep up. It was shoot up nine,
it will shoot up. It would definitely shoot up.

Speaker 3 (49:33):
Be like huh, eyebrow, but not a question. Talk about them.
Good morning football, next morning you in the show.

Speaker 6 (49:40):
Can you stay? You stay? You beat and you play
at that level? All right?

Speaker 4 (49:47):
Fellas, good stuff, Nate, have a good trip, Kurt, good seeing,
and Jesse. Good stuff is always Chris, thanks for keeping
us on the air, Josh, thanks for.

Speaker 3 (49:54):
Keeping him company.

Speaker 4 (49:55):
