Speaker 5 (01:52):
Oh fellas, Yes, where'd you watch the game at?

Speaker 3 (02:00):
Watched it at home, home home, Yeah, yeah, sitting at

Speaker 7 (02:31):
And see what he's doing. Yeah, man, because uh m hmm.

Speaker 5 (02:35):
Because so it's weird for for you, Nate, because you
you saw the same basically the same thing without without
the fancy jerseys on the week before in Oxnarn same result.
Kind of got beat up a little bit, didn't really
get to see a whole lot of.

Speaker 7 (02:56):
Here.

Speaker 5 (02:56):
Here's my I know how you feel about this because
we talked about it last week for the practice.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
Hell, take your time, I'm all over the place. Yes,
go ahead, Kurt. Kurt sent us a nice little note.
Let it help you.

Speaker 5 (03:14):
My homes Burrow, Love, Lawrence, Nix, and Young all played.
Dak did not play, Booker did not play. Thomas, who
is basically a rookie, only took ten snaps. What are
your thoughts again? I know it hasn't changed since last week,
but Kurt didn't hear you last week. By the way, Kurt,

(03:36):
how'd everything check out for you? Last We let the
listeners know that. Keep keep you in there.

Speaker 3 (03:41):
Some prayers. You're good, still clean, clean and.

Speaker 7 (03:46):
Good?

Speaker 3 (03:47):
A good congratulations?

Speaker 7 (03:49):
Great?

Speaker 9 (03:52):
Okay, Nate, what what is the advantage of not letting
the because I don't After this, I think you do.

Speaker 8 (04:04):
You need to see I think.

Speaker 5 (04:06):
More backup quarterback play than you do Dak playing. And
if you're a coach or you like, you know what Dak?

Speaker 3 (04:10):
You good? We know what we got with you.

Speaker 5 (04:12):
I mean I would like to see him in for
a few series to get some timing.

Speaker 3 (04:15):
But I think you got more questions a backup quarterback
then you. But it's like every year. If Dak goes.

Speaker 5 (04:21):
Down, it's like, Okay, run the ball, run the ball,
run the ball, which you're not doing that real well anyway, I.

Speaker 6 (04:26):
Just wish, I mean, the preseason is all about one
staying healthy, two evaluating players. I wish there was more
focus on getting the starters ready. There's none of that
to me, really, yeah, and it used to be that way.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
You know, they just patiently wait this turn. He got
a lot to say.

Speaker 7 (04:43):
You don't fellas, I've listened to other people's shows, we
see what's going on here. The coach said, he's not
trying to show much with his scheme, so he's depending
on players to show them that they earn the right
to play for this team during the seventeen game season,

(05:05):
and we just don't see a lot of excitement because
the players have not picked up their tempo. The Rams
came in last Tuesday, set a good tempo for all guys,
say hey, this is how you practice. This is the
temple you use so that when you go into a
game you can go to another level. We have not

(05:27):
forced the temple dating back to last year. We have
not brought the physicality it takes to win games. What
we finished with last year is a disastrous run game.
What we saw during the preseason, its first one was
a disastrous run game. It took both our defense and

(05:48):
offensive lines to the fourth quarter before they start having
a collective victory, you know, as one line defensively, a
one line offense. And I'm you know, and I hope
I can safely say this, I'm not judging that quarterback

(06:09):
number ten because I knew when the fella came that
on the level that we're trying to play on and
that we're trying to accomplish, he's not there. So for
me to keep kicking, you know, it's been enough piling
on He's not ready, you know, unless you're gonna run
that run past option scheme, unless you're gonna run that

(06:33):
eighty five percent of the time, he's not ready. So
I'm not gonna pile on him. I try to tell
people this, and and I said, around the world, stop
sending your kids to schools that features that the NFL
has not one hundred percent went to that type of offense.
So parents, quit sending your kids to these type programs.

(06:58):
I mean, because when they get to the NFL, they're
gonna act some one read two reads, three reads, and
then if it's a slant, throw it with some Christmas,
but don't throw it like a hot ball of lead,
you know what I'm saying. So I don't you know,
I see what everyone is trying to do for over there, scouting, coaching, whatever.

(07:22):
You're trying to solidify guy. But he's evident that he's
not ready and it's not gonna take me. Well, we
got two more preseason games. If he couldn't read his
first reading his second read in the first preseason game
he come to Ravens, they defense ain't no slouts. That's
first team second teen thirteen, eighteen nineteen.

Speaker 3 (07:44):
So you get what I'm saying.

Speaker 7 (07:46):
So that's about as much as I'm gonna say about that.

Speaker 6 (07:50):
You don't feel, and I don't either, that he could
be a solid backup not now. So how do you
how do you balance? I mean, do they need to
be putting Greer in getting him ready?

Speaker 7 (08:00):
I think gris sure get more against the Ravens. You know,
I was talking to one of the other gentlemen on
the show, you know, you know, heck Ma Harrison is
on Mixed Shots, and I told him, I said, he
was kind of upset that they wasn't running the ball
in the first quarter. I'm like, you have two options here.

(08:21):
You've given everybody an impression that Milton is your second
team quarterback. He needs tremendous amount of work at this time.
Would you rather work on the run game because there's
only backups in there, you rather work on the run game,
or you would rather work on your backup quarterback being
able to make some basic reads. So I'm trying to

(08:44):
think like the coach. And then when the second quarter came,
Miller's they started running the ball more. They said, well,
maybe if we get this kid in the rhythm, let
them roll out. So it worked to a certain extent,
but this is this season. Game just wasn't very Uh
aesthetic is that the word?

Speaker 6 (09:06):
You know?

Speaker 3 (09:07):
It wasn't appealing. Yes, that's a static.

Speaker 8 (09:12):
Yeah. I'm like, wow, well go ahead.

Speaker 5 (09:15):
I was just gonna say preseason when you when you
talk about it like that, like for the good teams,
it's just a it's just a walk through, and you
get some looks at some some some younger players for
teams that are still trying to figure it out, it's
got to be maddening for a coach because, like you said,
you're trying to work on the past game and figure
this out, but then you work on the run game,

(09:36):
and then when you finally get around to.

Speaker 3 (09:37):
It, the other teams got their third and four string
dudes then, so you keep.

Speaker 7 (09:42):
It was seconds and thirds, and then all of a sudden,
towards the end of the game, you know, you know,
we we got ninety five players basically, and forty of
them are thirty five of them is solid on the team,
so the rest is fighting. But you still don't want
to even get that special Team's guy. This guy that

(10:02):
is you know, gonna be the third team this, that,
and the other because he's a special teams guy, so
he's out of the game. So the forty five guys
that you're looking at, what only about ten or twelve
of them is gonna make it. So these are guys
that are fighting for their lives, but they couldn't equal
to what the rams same set of guys was doing.

Speaker 6 (10:24):
How does that help your team get ready for the
season Because you're playing guys that aren't even going to
be around, aren't going to have much of an impact.
How does that help you get ready for Week one?

Speaker 7 (10:33):
See Kurt, I've always had this problem because we see
other teams that are in the playoffs year in the
year out playing their veteran players, and that hurts because
we want to be ready to go. Coach Schottenheimer really

(10:54):
thinks that he has his guys where they need to be,
you know, because if I gotta believe if he didn't
think that his guys or his scheme or whatever he's
got pushing him to do it, do it the way
he's doing it. I'm hoping this is not a big
push from up above him because if it is, it's

(11:15):
a it's a detriment to coach Shanahan because he needs
not Shattenham. Excuse me, scuse me, sir, h Coach Shanham.
It's a detriment because he wants if he wants those
guys to play, let him play. People keep talking about injuries, folks,
They gonna happen, regardless of whether you believe it or not.

(11:38):
What's called lost. They left tackle the Chargers, the number
one left tackle I think is in the game right now. Yeah,
they you know, and they lost them to a nun contact.
Nobody hit him, So these things happen. Hit no hit shorts,
full gear. You better know what you're team is and

(12:01):
what coach Schottenheimer is saying to us by this first
preseason game. I know who my team is. Let's just
hope that it shows up.

Speaker 8 (12:08):
Hope he does. Yeah, not Kenny.

Speaker 6 (12:10):
I mean you've got a rookie right guard and basically
a rookie left tackle. And well, I mean, how are
you running back?

Speaker 8 (12:20):
I mean.

Speaker 6 (12:22):
You figure that out without Can they beat May? It's
the next segment, but can they? Can they be ready
just from practice in a one scrimmage and we when.

Speaker 3 (12:32):

Man's where are you at? I know where you are?
Where exactly are you at?

Speaker 13 (15:37):
So I'm standing right? Uh, I'm right on the tennis court,
and I'm like looking at practice from like when I'm
I walked away from the field because I didn't want
to how to need it playing too loud in the background.

Speaker 7 (15:48):
Yep, that's right, you smart yep.

Speaker 5 (15:50):
So how long has it been? How long has it
been since you've been to a Cowboys training camp?

Speaker 13 (15:56):
Last year? Last year?

Speaker 7 (15:57):
Okay, he was here, but he was not here. He
ran and remember he got his money, right fleeted, I
do remember that a Jesse Kurt has a barrage of questions.

Speaker 5 (16:13):
A barrage, a barrage of questions about the same subject.

Speaker 3 (16:17):
Take it away, Kurt, take it away, Kurt.

Speaker 8 (16:19):
Well, I just we've been talking about uh.

Speaker 3 (16:21):
Oh, Kurt. Taken away, Kurt.

Speaker 7 (16:23):
I've been well.

Speaker 6 (16:24):
Just it concerns me that that can you know, we're
so worried about well, I get stand healthy.

Speaker 8 (16:30):
But two player evaluation.

Speaker 6 (16:32):
The last thirty something players on the roster played the
other night in the last half, the guys that aren't
really going to have an impact. Can this team be
ready by week one if the starters aren't prepared, If
they can they get prepared in just one scrimmage in practices, No,
in the.

Speaker 13 (16:54):
Segment the thing Kurt and Shannon and they understand this
and knows this that as simple as it sounds, you
got to play ball like you got to play ball.
And when you're trying to establish new culture, when you're
trying to put in a new defense and you're trying
to put in your version of this offense, you've got

(17:16):
to see it live. You can make up whatever scenario
that you want. In practice, it ain't the same, right
because you go, oh, yeah, this pass play absolutely worth
live because that see it in practice. Well, he held
the ball for seven seconds, you know, we let the
sat go right and so now he's still making the
player down the field. It's when you get these guys
in these live games, it's when you know, you get

(17:36):
a chance to truly evaluate what they are, what are
their deficiencies, what are their plus what are theirs? And
how you can coach that up or coach that out
of a particular player. You know. I use the example
about a guy like Tyler Booker. You think Dak puss
Out wants to find out and Tyler Booker can actually
play NFL football. It's sut timber Fourth when Danan Carters
setting on the top of him it's not running from

(17:58):
his nose, and he's taller from the mouth. I don't
think so, I don't. I don't think you want to
find out whether or not Tyler Booker can actually protect
Dat Prescott on on September fourth, and then you talk
about the other guys because it's the trickle down effect,
Kimmy Lamb, George Pickens, you want them to be successful. Well,
if my line can't block, I mean my quarterback came
to this proper readson. I mean we running what we'd

(18:19):
like to call for the love of the game route.
I mean we just running routes all day and we're
not actually getting no action. So I don't think you
could be ready to play a professional NFL regular season
football game if majority, if not all, of the dudes
who are going to be in those games aren't actually
playing in games that give you a simulated scenario of

(18:40):
what it would look like.

Speaker 7 (18:44):
You got any more questions, Kurt that.

Speaker 8 (18:48):
What did you say?

Speaker 3 (18:49):
This is you.

Speaker 5 (18:54):
And you sat there and looked at us like we
got horns growing out of our head, that this is the.

Speaker 13 (19:00):
Death Kurt, we don't need them.

Speaker 8 (19:01):
Yeah, I know they're not paying attention. Probably so well,
I mean, you're out there, now, what are you saying?
How's how does it feel to you? What? What?

Speaker 6 (19:10):
What's the vibe after that last game?

Speaker 13 (19:12):
Yeah, I al say the vibe is KOs Shotti recognizes
that day and where they aren't where he thinks they
should be. Hence why today is a paddent practice, and
he said it'll be a physical paddent practice about an
hour and forty five minutes. Tomorrow will be another physical
patent practice to be about two hours, and so he's
trying to get in as many patent practice as he
hands because he realized what he thought was physical ain't

(19:34):
really physical. And to be honest with the Church and
and Nate, it's really tough to think that they're gonna
get physical only being physical with a bunch of dudes
who aren't used to being physical. Right, So if I'm
practicing physicality, you don't know to be physical, I'm not
truly getting the true accts of physical Now what this

(19:54):
Saturday the walking embodiment of what the physical team looks
like in the Baltimore Raven. They don't show you the
ram shows you what that looked like. And I think
I think shoddy kind of you know enliven in person
got a taste of oh, this is what physical looks like.
Because we got punks in practice and we got punked
in the game. We ain't We ain't anywhere close to

(20:16):
where we need to be from a physicality standpoint. Now
a talent standpoint, but a physicality standpoint. Are we where
we're supposed to be? And that's the that's the cultural
push and change. If you're trying to make is going
from a country club to a physical unit, then you
know you gotta get guys out here going up for
this what that looks like. And they'll have another opportunity

(20:38):
this week against the Baltimore Ravens.

Speaker 7 (20:40):
See Jesse, that's what you know when we did this
set segment earlier. But that was that was my main goal.
Tempo with no physicality, you still running the same game.
You have to be physical in what you're trying to do.
We ended the season last year a mess for as

(21:01):
versus the run. We go into a preseason game and
it was worse and and the young guys that they
have drafted or either signed the free agency, they were
nowhere to be found.

Speaker 13 (21:15):
I looked as say this, mate, because I know guys
are saying, well, a lot of these guys are starts.
And here's the thing about defensive line and offensive line
that differs when they goes in the game. As an
offensive lineman right is expected to play every single offensive
snap unless you gets hurt. There is no rotation for
There is no rotation for offensive linemen. So the guys

(21:36):
that you saw in the game on Saturday are a
part of the defensive rotation. Defensive linemen are rotating, they
go in out of the game all games. So the
guys that you saw not being able to hold up
in the run on this past weekend are guys who
they're going to see in the game when when when
the lights are on. So those guys who are beat
in that rotation, it's not like offensive line where unless

(21:58):
you hurt, you come out the game. No deep at
the guys they rotate every certain amount of plays. So
the inability to buke up and buck up and be
physical against the run, alignment assignments football, come downhill, make
your mark being felt. Those guys that you saw on Saturday,
A lot of those guys that you will see September
fourth in the rotational situation for the Cowboys upfront, defensively,

(22:25):
and they did not stop the run.

Speaker 5 (22:28):
When you talk about physicality, that's the common theme, right,
We've been out physical for however many years.

Speaker 3 (22:35):
It's been how do you teach that? How do you
implement that?

Speaker 5 (22:40):
What do you do right now at this point of
the season in practice, in training camp? Like it's it's
I know it's a mentality and it's but how do
you change because it doesn't look like through one joint practice,
in one preseason game that we've.

Speaker 3 (22:56):
Gotten any more physical. How can you make a team
more phil What do you do first.

Speaker 7 (23:01):
Of all the playoffs?

Speaker 13 (23:06):
Oh? Well, I think the first thing that you gotta
do is is you know what you can do at practices.
Keep getting all the practice that you can in and
to be honest with you, and it is not against
the rules, Hey, schedule more joint practice and physical football teams, right,
keep keep going at this thing in such a way.
But then when you're getting the game, you've got this
has to be in overall mentality. And I'll say it

(23:29):
quickly enough. I don't know if you guys talked about
this or not, but I left I had a chance
to watch the the the Gambler and the and the
team the Cowboys last night. And you know when I
took away from that, and you are the perfect person
to speak into that, Like I watched that, and I
watched those dudes, and I saw those dudes for those duds,

(23:50):
bro like them goils was about that, things about like
you ain't gonna just you know, when they took on
the Niners in ninety two, they was like, man, we're
gonna be We're gonna be walking out of here physically
dominating the dudes. And when you hear guys like Bill
Romanowski say, man, that was the most physical game I've
ever played in, Steve Young says, that was the you know,

(24:12):
playing against the Cowboys, that was the most physical game
I've ever been in in my career. Like that's the
type of thing that you've got to build those palaces
in the trenches in practice, and you know what I'm saying,
And you got to have the right dudes who want
to go out there and do that. You've got to
have the RUSHO want to go out there and in
flict the pain and hurt and harm on another man.

(24:34):
Like you we laugh at Mike and all those guys
from Mike how he says that but they was about
that life. I don't think you have enough guys in
this football team with Jimmy V. Jones that want to
go out there and inflict harm on another human dum
not to talking about it, not saying it, but physically
want to go out there and break another man. We

(24:56):
don't have enough of those dudes on this football team.
We don't have enough coaches that that coach that on
this football team, and we don't do it enough in
practice on this football team to go out there on
any given game and now all of a sudden turn
on the switch and be this physical football team. That
has to be. It has to be a for real
installed mentality. That has to be the way that you

(25:16):
approach it the people that you're putting around here, like
that has to be a way of life. Like you
think about the Ravens, the Ravens embody that they walk around,
and you know, if you become a Baltimore Raven, it's
going to be a physical style of football. If you
become a San Francisco forty nine er, it's going to
be a physical style of football. Like that's an embodiment

(25:37):
that is echo throughout the building that part here and

did you say? Nate? When you when you when y'all
are going in the training camp and you look down
there and it's a wookie that eight playing in the
preaching in game one, like I just imagine you know what, Charles,

(26:21):
he would take you that?

Speaker 13 (30:31):
I didn't know anything.

Speaker 3 (30:32):
We heard some of the wise over there. What that was?
All right? Tell us about this documentary? What did you uh?
How did you fall into that?

Speaker 5 (30:43):
And then tell us your initial thoughts because everybody, I
think everybody.

Speaker 3 (30:47):
In the city is ready to wants to see it.

Speaker 13 (30:49):
So one'd your voice like I'm I'm like that people
know me. I'm playing No, let me be clear, because
people like, oh, this is a Jerry Jones. This was
a Netflix event, Like Netflix put this on. This was
a net Flix event and the Cowboys of course and

(31:11):
Jerry Zones and the family participated in it. But it
is so by Netflix. So I got the invite from
Netflix to come out and to be a part of this,
and I gotta tell you, I honestly got to tell
you when I got done watching this, I did. I
went into this thing like, oh, you know him, go
gott to hear the history of what we already know.
And then I watched this thing, man, and my first

(31:35):
story when I got done watching was, damn, he's done
it again. Like he the cinematic value of this. And
I'll tell you, like last night what we watched. And
I watched some other episodes because I had access to
the seams. But last night we watched about ten minutes

(31:57):
the first episode, and then we jumped right in and
watched the whole episode three. Right an episode three we
made We're gonna be all superb this land of dust
right there. In nineteen ninety two, the NFC East Championship
game Verse two nates the San Francisco forty nine ers,

(32:17):
and you got a perspective and an insight. The way
that they did this was you heard from Steve Young,
Bill Romanows, Jerry Rice, Eddie de Barlow, who was the
head coach. I think it's super at the time. You
heard from Uh, you heard from emmittt, Michael Tar, Jerry,

(32:41):
Jimmy and you. It's these two perspectives going back and forth. Right,
It's the it's the it's the the Niners, who were
kind of like the team of the eighties and late
eighties going into the early nineties, and it's this upstart
you know, uh Cowboys team and you're hearing the shorties
from back and forth, back and forth. And what made

(33:01):
it so half a cinematic value is if you're a
Cowboys fan, if you're of the people of our age
is and older, you know what this game is. You
know what it is, you know how it is, you
know who it end it, you know all the storylines.
But to sear it and just see the way that
they did it. And while you're kind of in in
golf in the game and going back and forth, back

(33:22):
and forth, they cut away and then they go back
and they tell the story. You know how Gary you
know in football in Arkansas and how he is borrowing
money left and right, and he tells those stories and
how you bought eight hundred thousand dollars to get this
or well and he talked about when the ol well,
when they drilled down and all that and fitting all
the oil out one hundred million dollar or well, and

(33:46):
you know how he sold you know, he had piece
of jobs and he throwd a mobile homes and shouldn't
then this to tell the quick story about how he
is almost in bed with Bimmy how for to get
money to buy the San Diego Target at the time.
And so, I mean it was so cinematically done well,
it was phenomenal, and I said, damn it. He pulled

(34:08):
me back in. He got me again the way that
the Way Brothers doesn't mean why the Gray brothers who
directed it, how they got you back and forth into
all these different stories. You know, there's another portion of
it that I was watching where he kind of you know,
he talks about at the owner's money when the kind
of thingy this really hit the fand between him and
Jimmy and how that happened, and he said some choice

(34:29):
things in there. I won't spoil it to y'all, but
he said some choice things in there that you're like, uh,
what that you already know? But they hear it from
the horse's mouth is another thing, man. But it was,
you know, to see it, and maybe it was an
indeed the movie theater vibe. But boy, I left there,

(34:50):
and you guys, I said this earlier on another show
I was going. I said, yeah, I know, I'm not
a company man. I don't carry the water for nobody.
I say what I want I do what I want
all that kind of crazy stuff. So when people are like, oh,
you're being a company man, y'all know, y'all know I
am a company man. Y'all know I should be saying
with everything and everybody, I was like, damn I was.

(35:13):
I was like, I was like, damn, you got Cinematically,
that was done netflick the way that they they delivered this, man,
is people are gonna be I think, and even if
you heard the stories, you all heard the stories, then
around long enough, I thought cinematically it was done, you know,
so well. And then here Pat Summer all and John

(35:34):
Matt you know, calling him. It just felt like my
heart smiled to hear Pat Summer and saying and it's over,
you know, and hey guys and doing back. It was
just it was so it was so it was so
well done. Man, people are gonna enjoy it. He got
another hit, man, he got another fifth and hit well, you.

Speaker 5 (35:50):
Sold me because I've been listening to all the local
media talk about on all the shows, are you going
to watch it?

Speaker 3 (35:55):
Are you interested?

Speaker 5 (35:56):
And I'm and I'm thinking to myself, I know the story, Like,
believe me, I know more of the behind the scenes
stuff than ninety nine point nine percent of the general public,
Like there's nothing in here that like I'm gonna learn
from this. But Jesse, you just I think you sucked
me in. I think I'm gonna have to go watch it.

Speaker 13 (36:13):
I was the same way I wanted to not like it.
I want I was like, I'm just going in because
you know, you're in Hollywood. There's a lot of important
people here, the Netflix people here, and you know, I'm
always trying I'm always trying to get a dollar. I'm
always gonna try to get a dollar. So I'm like,
let me just go and just kind of use the
opportunity to you know, web elas what people change cards,
good information and so on and so forth right. And

(36:36):
I was like, I'm like, you said it't I know
the stories. I turn them all YadA, YadA, YadA. And
I went to the theater. I was like, oh my goodness,
you got another one.

Speaker 3 (36:50):
Well, I'll watch it.

Speaker 5 (36:51):
Any we'll let you will spare you the last five
minutes of the show, any last party words or thoughts.

Speaker 3 (36:57):
Before we let you go.

Speaker 13 (37:01):
I would I would say that listening and speaking of
shoty uh yesterday, you know the way that they got
embarrassed in practicing the games. I think has resonated with him,
and again he's gonna try to come out here today
have some really physical, padded practice. I'm not saying that
Shoty has rabbit ears, but I think Shoty has heard

(37:23):
and is hearing all of the talk about how he
didn't play so many players. I think they're gonna see
that change. I'm not saying that guys like Dak Prescott
and see me Lamb who I don't who I think
should play. Those guys all she guy should play. I
don't think those guys are gonna be in his uh
his player players playing this weekend against the Ravens. But

(37:44):
I can I can say that you you won't see
as many guys in uh in Cowboys paraphernelia and baseball
caps this Saturday against the Ravens.

Speaker 7 (37:53):
That's a good thing, man, That's a good thing, because
when you look at the game, you're just saying to yourself,
this is not it. This is ain't this is not
what you want to show you a public, your fans.
That was not it, man, And and we've been saying it.
You've been saying that, I've been saying it, and I

(38:14):
said that last week. I'm like, it's nowhere in the
world that we cannot have sixty five of our starters playing.
It's the eight or nine guys that we know what
they can do, but the rest should be playing. And
this shocked me when I looked out there no booker
know this, know that, I'm.

Speaker 13 (38:35):
Like, what, I got it too much, honestly, Like I'm
thinking three four of the guys, I think that three
four gods.

Speaker 7 (38:45):
Yeah, but I'm talking about you know, Diggs ain't gonna
play blaying, you know, guys like that.

Speaker 13 (38:51):
I mean, hurt God, the hurt God.

Speaker 7 (38:55):
Those are part of my six you know, if we
take away those six seven guys, you're right, only three
or four guys should be sitting down in one holding out,
so it don't matter, you know.

Speaker 5 (39:05):
Which also that here in the uh the comments about
mister Jones on the Blue carpet made me realize exactly
why we're at this point again, at this point of
the season with your superstar not on the field, because
it's all about you.

Speaker 13 (39:24):
So I always have the answer for you guys. When
we had the competition a week ago about you know,
Michael Parsons, what are you doing for a conditioning and
stuff like that. You know, that's that's the benefit of
kind of being here boots on the ground. Uh insnar.
I got over there early today. I was doing some
other stuff I ain't known, lie I was, I was,
I was, I was double dipping. Uh So I got

(39:44):
over here really really really early, uh today, and before
anybody was out kids, I had to do an early show.
And lo and behold who was out there before any
of the media, anybody else even gonna get out into
the into the fativity Micah. And he's out there with
the second different coaches and working on the tradition. So yes,
while you're not seeing it during practice and you're not
seeing it after practice, he is committed to doing it

(40:06):
earlier in the day. Uh So he is not. And
I witnessed that with my own swat.

Speaker 5 (40:13):
But but Jesse, like we said, if they ain't out there,
they ain't beaten him with bars and soaps wrapped up
in towels.

Speaker 3 (40:19):
He ain't gonna have them callouses, man.

Speaker 5 (40:21):
Correct, you know.

Speaker 3 (40:22):
But something that's good, Yes, that's good. And he's still
there wearing his cowboys gear.

Speaker 13 (40:28):
Right, he's got practice today. He brought me about about
ten minutes ago.

Speaker 3 (40:33):
Blows my mind.

Speaker 8 (40:34):
Man, I don't think it's cowboys gear on the day
he does. Oh, but he's there.

Speaker 3 (40:37):
He's there, all right.

Speaker 5 (40:38):
I can't tell well, Jesse, I know you'll get some
good insight out there for us today and tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (40:44):
And enjoin the show Thursday, and then guess what, we're.

Speaker 5 (40:48):
All back together, babe. We're getting the band together. You know,
we're getting close to getting back. Chris actually answered one
of our group text messages today for the first time,
I think since he's been in California. So uh, y'all, y'all,
y'all get it in out there and come back home
and let's uh, let's let's do.

Speaker 3 (41:03):
A show all in the same place.

Speaker 8 (41:04):
So do it.

Speaker 3 (41:06):
We will talk to you Thursday.

Speaker 5 (41:07):
Man, all right, all right, thanks j Justice fellas any
other last minute thoughts.

Speaker 7 (41:16):
I'm riding with coach Seannheimer. Trust in trusting it man.
And then you know, because I told you, I'm gonna
watch every move you make, I'm gonna listen to everything
he says. But one thing that was very obvious about
this game, and I know it was a bunch of backups,

(41:36):
so but that ain't what you want to see. Backups.
Otherwise you think that the Rams fans are saying, who man?
Them cowboys really took it to us?

Speaker 8 (41:48):
You know, is there anybody that did?

Speaker 7 (41:50):
Yeah? But you get what I'm saying.

Speaker 8 (41:52):
You.

Speaker 7 (41:54):
If I'm a three technique boom, if I'm playing over
the right or left guard as a defensive lineman, my
job is let you move me. And that's whether you
first team secondeen thirty. Because you're trying to make a team.
I'm not gonna let you and Kurt move me off
this ball because this is my livelihood. And these guys

(42:14):
played like, oh well, just another practice, and it wasn't
just another practice.

Speaker 8 (42:21):
Did anybody stand out to anybody?

Speaker 5 (42:23):
Uh?

Speaker 7 (42:25):
You know? I saw one or two guys make some plays.
You know, I can't think of number fifty one's name
defensive lineman. His name Henry or something. Let me get
the kid's name right, since I brought up his name,
fifty one. Ernest Brown made a player to Donovan and
rookie made a player to Lewis Barifol that he did

(42:52):
well early, he got ten snaps. But once again you
had a guy there who's here's his third year and
this guy nothing, I mean, you know, and he's that
starting knows god, you know, And I'm saying to myself,
you had ten snaps and was ineffective. That is not
what the Cowboy fans deserve, you know. And that's so

(43:17):
I'm gonna get off the air because I'm shot down
my trust and shotting my trust.

Speaker 3 (43:24):
Well, Jesus, come on, we will be games by Friday. Yeah, Friday,
this week, fatday.

Speaker 7 (43:31):
Yeah right, the Ravens and they second and third team
players is gonna be coming with it, trying to make
the team. Okay.

Speaker 5 (43:37):
It's amazing how when you when you get that identity
as being tough, like you're a tough sticks with you,
like you're a tough team.

Speaker 3 (43:50):
That's part of your culture.

Speaker 5 (43:51):
And you know, I know that's what they're trying to
build here, but like it would just be it would
feel so good to have days back like what Jesse
was talking about when they those guys were like when
you when you when you played the Cowboys, you feel.

Speaker 7 (44:05):
Let me say this right here, you know, and I
and I'm and I'm not. It's not a knock against
our scouting department, our coaches, anybody, but fellas, yes, and
they want to say it, and I'm reluctant to say it,
but I have to because, like I said, I joke
and jib and I'll play with the fans and everything
say some off the wall stuff. But you gotta have

(44:27):
better players.

Speaker 3 (44:30):
You gotta have physical players to play physical.

Speaker 7 (44:32):
Right, and you gotta when you're getting ready to draft
the guy where you're getting ready to bring a guy
in here, you gotta bring in better guys. When Jimmy
made that culture change, I heard him say, see a
lot of sights. Used to listen to coach, coach a lot.
He's like, I gotta get better players. I heard him
say that so many times. I mean he he would

(44:53):
be walking off the field with mister Jones, I gotta
get better players. He is getting ready to play the
forty nine US, and we was all. I mean, I was,
I'm always mesmerized by great quarterbacks. So I'm looking at
uh the great Joe Man's tying to warm up, and
I'm like wow. So I'm standing reck next to mister
Jones and uh and and Jimmy and Jero say wow, man.

(45:16):
He said, give me a couple of years.

Speaker 3 (45:18):
We just got to get better players. M There you go,
all right, Kurt, good seeing you, Nate. Good seeing you, Paul.
Thanks for keeping us on the air. In the back,
I still got the live reads. I'll bring them back there.
Tea's over.

Speaker 5 (45:33):
I'll have them again Thursday, Jesse, thanks for calling in. Chris, Chris,
thanks for answering our text message today. We'll be back Thursday,
and then we're back to I guess full time.

Speaker 7 (45:47):
Hey, Mama Gros, I know I hadn't spoke to you
in a while. We're still part time into the regular season.

Speaker 3 (45:53):
Yeah, and we don't know our regular time yet or any.

Speaker 7 (45:56):
Yes, probably one or two. There's gonna be one or
two cause you know, Jesse got other venues and avenues
and Netflix will soon get in there.

Speaker 3 (46:04):
We go all right, We'll be back Thursday. Thanks for listening.
We are.
