When we speak.
Speaker 5 (01:29):
About you, each and every show about wingstop or a
Flavorite gets its wee.
Speaker 3 (01:33):
I gotta give a shout out. I gotta give a
shout out. I didn't. I don't know the guy's name,
but you know who you are. He saw me at
the wingstop. Very weird thing about me. So I like
my wings hot. So most of the time, nine times
out of ten when I eat wingstop, I'm eating it
in the store right right right.
Speaker 5 (01:54):
Oh you like them?
Speaker 3 (01:55):
I like my fire hot yeah like no, no, I like
the temperature hot. So I was sitting in the in
the wingstop and he walked in. My man had the
blue he had the little frenchy puppy with him and uh,
and he walked in and you know how sometimes you
walk in and somebody recognizes you. So he like looks
over a double take, and I'm like, I'll just put
my head down and keep it my wing And he
kind of went to the bathroom and came back and
(02:16):
he just like he like, hey man, I like to
show brother. He's like, he said, look at you man
eating where his spotsors at. So he goes with flavor
good it. We walk out the door, so shout out
there with my brother watched his every single day. I
didn't get his name, but you know who I'm talking to.
The little dog in his hand.
Speaker 6 (02:31):
Nice, and we shouldn't.
Speaker 3 (02:32):
Bring animals into sibers like that people to eat, but
not just my person.
Speaker 6 (02:36):
And when person a good thing.
Speaker 4 (02:40):
But when you tell Jesse nice show, you gotta tell
him which one, because he's on about.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
When he said we, I said, I know what he
was talking about. I didn't say this one of the
mother Jesse.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
He's trying to stand it for the other folks to that,
you know, Jess, try to double breaking news.
Speaker 5 (02:54):
The Titans just fired their head coach.
Speaker 6 (02:57):
So the.
Speaker 4 (03:00):
Tight callahan yeah and fellas in the uh. In the
words of the now great Rico Dowdle, they wasn't buckled up.
Speaker 5 (03:15):
He told them all week. He told him all week,
buckle up. They wasn't buckled man.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
You know I heard, and he tracted a limit, but
he still said, they know what's coming.
Speaker 6 (03:28):
Like wow.
Speaker 3 (03:29):
You know, I do appreciate a good walk it like
you talk.
Speaker 6 (03:35):
I do.
Speaker 3 (03:35):
I do for him. I know I shouldn't because it
happened against us. But there's something to be said when
somebody says a little trash talk and.
Speaker 4 (03:44):
Then back it up, especially somebody that's not one of
your normal typical superstars.
Speaker 3 (03:49):
Can't be mad at Rico. Good for Rico was a
backup running back through no good for he was a
backup running back three just three short weeks ago. Rico
was a backup running back. True, but I don't know
if you get your job back.
Speaker 6 (04:03):
But they're gonna split reps now.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
They're gonna go from running thirty times thirty eight times
a game to forty five.
Speaker 3 (04:09):
They just paid who you last year too, They're.
Speaker 6 (04:12):
Gonna split split the reps.
Speaker 5 (04:14):
Well what it means?
Speaker 4 (04:16):
So many things to talk about, not not particularly the
best called game by the head coach. We had one
of the best ones he's ever called in the last week,
and now one of the worst ones.
Speaker 5 (04:28):
Jesse, What did you What did you think about that?
The play calling.
Speaker 6 (04:35):
Over, the pull over, the pull of Jesse?
Speaker 3 (04:38):
Okay, I don't know what.
Speaker 6 (04:39):
Look at him? Man.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
You knew within the first eight plays you could not
run the ball, So why did you waste the other
eleven runs when you usually just been throwing the ball?
Speaker 6 (04:53):
Bro That was just to day because they wouldn't get
no pressure for his sacks. Now they're moving Dack and
live bit off the spot. But once you saw.
Speaker 2 (05:01):
That number ninety five, number ninety four and number ninety
seven was gonna control your offensive line.
Speaker 4 (05:07):
I would have just went to throw the ball and
then when the game's on the line, you basically just
do two long handoffs in the road.
Speaker 3 (05:16):
I'm just saying, for me, Bro, it's super unfortunate that offensively,
the play caller has to be perfect, the quarterback has
to be perfect because you have zero room for era,
which is defense.
Speaker 6 (05:36):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (05:36):
But let me I also will say this. I said
this on my other show, and I said it, you know,
tongue in cheek, half serious, half joking, with a lot
of joking. And I should have I should have sent
the picture to Chris, but people got mad at me
about it. But no, people, just come on, this is twitter,
(05:57):
Dak Prescott. You can only wear suits the game from
here on out. No more Jack came in the young
person clothes. He had the baggy jeans on, and the
Jack put your suit back on. I need I need
presidential dress, Dac for the games. You try to dress
in your young boy clothes like like jan Yea and them,
and oh send them that, ain't you unk? You're thirty
(06:20):
two years old. Get back to your custom suits. I
don't like the young boy clothes. I don't like it
at all. It bothered me. I saw him.
Speaker 5 (06:27):
Are you becoming old man? Get off?
Speaker 6 (06:30):
I am?
Speaker 3 (06:30):
I am one hundred percent. The Cowboys showed him walking,
he walked out, he walked out.
Speaker 7 (06:36):
To the.
Speaker 3 (06:38):
You know, coming to the game. He's only a suit guy.
He's always in a suit. I always been a suit
I've always been a suit guy. Not this week. He
had all young people clothes, baggy jeans and a jean jacket.
And I just said, come on, man, like, come on,
we didn't.
Speaker 5 (06:52):
Affect his play much. He still played. You still balled out.
Speaker 3 (06:55):
Yeah no, I mean that's not the reason this team
lost the game, though, Like, that's not this.
Speaker 6 (07:00):
It is seeing Kirt. I disagree with that.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
You see it, Kirk, See Kurt, he got young people
close on.
Speaker 2 (07:06):
I disagree with what you just said. Just I disagree
with what you just said.
Speaker 5 (07:10):
You think it's Dax.
Speaker 2 (07:11):
Didn't you tell us that at least need thirty and
we're gonna have to consistently do thirty five? Yeah, he
didn't do third.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
That ain't right.
Speaker 5 (07:19):
I'm with you.
Speaker 3 (07:20):
That look that ain't Come on, come on, come on,
you see what I'm saying. Let me see that again,
we assue that Dak.
Speaker 6 (07:28):
Dak, you would have water super would have got six
more points.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
Were do you know what I'm saying. I blame the uniform.
I blame the close we.
Speaker 5 (07:36):
They're gonna have to score.
Speaker 6 (07:37):
They're gonna have to score, like he said, thirty.
Speaker 5 (07:39):
Five, thirty one, thirty one at least, right at least.
Speaker 3 (07:43):
And that's what you want. Like Shoddy being able to
check the temperature of his team early in this football game,
it should have been like, you know what, guys, they
gonna have to be one of them day. We're gonna
have to just shoot this thing out. Yes, you got
because you have the best seat right now. You have
the best seat. You're seeing what your defense is doing.
You hearing the conversations with the coaches, you're on the sideline,
(08:03):
you're in there at halftime. At some point in time,
you got to know, like you got to just pull
back to the side, go listen. It's me and you today, brother,
it's me and you. A line ain't block and I
get supposed to. I mean, Davante had twenty nine yards
rushing two point two yards carry because Carolina, well, first
(08:24):
of all them dudes, is big. First of all, it
was I got one player right, a part of, a
part of And this is sometimes, this is sometimes what
I don't like arguing with or engaging with certain conversations
with people online, because there's a reason guys are backups
and they're a reason why guy are third stringers. Not
(08:46):
saying that they don't belong in this league, but there
is an absolute reason why they are positioned where they're positioned.
And so you come into a game and you know,
they're like, oh, well, we got this guy like you.
You ran into something that those backups and some of
your starters just couldn't handle. You ran up against some beef.
(09:08):
You ran up against some stone cold grade a wagoo beef.
Up front, they said, we're gonna line up over top
of jokers, centers, guards, and we're gonna come at y'all
and we're gonna close up all these gaps that y'all
trying to run through. And there's certain things that kind
of get get washed over when when you're winning or
(09:29):
there's some success behind it, like Rico has been running
hard and having some successful runs, but we don't talk
about Rico's getting like contacted at or behind a line
of scrimmage, and he's breaking tackles like that's something that's
not a sustainable thing. It's one thing when he's getting
(09:50):
if he's getting hit on the other side of the
line of scrimmage. But Rico's breaking a lot of tackles
at behind a line of scrimmage and then falling forward
for three five yards and you don't look at that
when you have success. He goes, Oh, he's just running hard.
But you're like, man, wait a second, man, he's getting
that rinker. I'm sorry, excuse me, Javonte. I'm sorry. I'm sorry, Javante.
(10:12):
I mean, I mean, I mean Javonte. And you came
up against the front today where he just you ran
into beef. You ran into one thousand pounds of defensive
line and they just lined up three hundred pounds, three
hundred pounds, three hundred pounds and said, we're gonna recreate
this line of scrimmage. We're gonna move guys out the way.
And they did, and that allowed their linebackers to you know,
(10:34):
run around and be free because they're they're they're sticking
and and and and and and and pressing you guys,
and you can't get up to the second level because
you know, y'all dual blocking and they didn't halfway split
the duels. So you're trying to hold on a tab
bit tighter to make sure that that gets on the
you know, help the guard, to help the center and
not the linebackers are running free through the through the
(10:56):
through the whole to meet the running back. It was
you would hope that shoty would have said that says,
you know what, and then the other easy.
Speaker 2 (11:04):
Pary had it was upstairs too, that say, hey, coach,
see it's one thing. This is what our coach. We
used to be fighting as offensive lineman, running ball, running ball,
running ball. If it was the linebackers making the plays, coach,
the offensive line can defend. Coach can defend us. Hey
(11:25):
we get these down blocks. The bat got to make.
One guy missed. But when the defensive linemen are making plays,
that means they're negative.
Speaker 6 (11:36):
They're either zero game or negative. With a linebacker making.
Speaker 2 (11:41):
The play is either two or three yards, but when
the defense lineman is making the play, it's either no
game or negative. We had like six of those, and
so once you see that as an offensive as an
offensive line coach, you know, sometimes you got to say, hey, coach,
we gotta do something totally different. And so I just
(12:03):
felt that we had to get them down by seven
to ten points.
Speaker 6 (12:08):
And we never got them down. We never made it
with this kid.
Speaker 3 (12:12):
This the stat for this game, and which was We're
sad to say that the Cowboys becoming like the fixer
uppers for these teams, the pharmacy, the pharmacy. When the
Panthers trailed in this game. Every time they trailed in
(12:32):
this game, little tink Tink was ten for ten, Yeah
for a hundred Yeah, he was ten for ten for
like one hundred and something yards and a couple of touchdowns.
Speaker 6 (12:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (12:44):
Every time they trailed. Wow, so they get they lose
the lead. Little tink Tink was making play.
Speaker 4 (12:52):
I was watching the game with somebody and they looked
at me and they go, that dude, I didn't wize
he was that small. I can think about what Jesse
called him.
Speaker 8 (13:01):
One of the worst statistical quarterbacks in the league.
Speaker 2 (13:07):
Happen we have played Just tell them what you told
us on Aaron when we was in there.
Speaker 3 (13:11):
We have who have we played? Yeah, like we played.
The crazy part about it is the Cowboys. When you
think about it, there are two. The Cowboys are two
three and one. He ain't really played a good quarterback yet,
Jordan Love, but Hurt's not a good quarterback. Russell got
(13:31):
bnsed the week after he played the Cowboys. Caleb Love
still Caleb, excuse me, Caleb Williams still trying to find
his way. Justin fields is as almost he is as
far as they come, right, And then you got you
got a little tank tank and like, what's gonna happen
(13:52):
when we go and play a really good quarterback?
Speaker 5 (13:55):
Listen what you got coming? Jade and Daniels.
Speaker 3 (13:58):
Who, by the way, that particular football team, I want
to say they lead the league in rushing yards bo Knicks,
which is throw from the pocket.
Speaker 4 (14:07):
Yeah, uh, Kyler Murray if he's playing Raiders, I don't
even know who their quarterback is.
Speaker 5 (14:14):
He's he's having and you got.
Speaker 3 (14:17):
You know what, I'm not saying what I tell you
the whole way, I'm not saying that anymore. I'm not
saying that anymore. I'm not saying that anymore because you know,
as as Booty as he's been this year, I'm not
getting like I'm not I'm not coming in here saying
I'm not here and talk about Geno's Goot's juice because
(14:39):
he got to play our defense. And every quarterback that
has come in and played our.
Speaker 6 (14:43):
Defense except fields that means he bad.
Speaker 3 (14:49):
And you go back and watch that Jets film. If
you could throw a little bit, if you could throw
a little bit, we might long a drugs game.
Speaker 5 (14:55):
All right, Let's take our first break when we come back.
Speaker 4 (14:57):

day before his birthday, him and Will McLay. I didn't
know until Jesse send in the group text that they
share a birthday.
Speaker 3 (17:44):
Yeah, that has been a hell of a week with
Jerry Man two and fifty thousand. Then you go out
to Carolina and take that take that l on your
head right before your eighty third birthday? Is it just?
Speaker 5 (17:57):
Is it just me the arrogant cowboy fan.
Speaker 4 (18:02):
Thinking like dude, I mean, I didn't think they were
gonna walk all over them, but I was like, they're
gonna win this game.
Speaker 5 (18:07):
There's no you know, they're winning, Just like the Jets.
I took it for granted. I was like, they're gonna win,
and Nate tried to tell us they are a really
good team at home.
Speaker 4 (18:17):
And then Nate, you have a you have a Do
you want to share your message to the defense?
Speaker 6 (18:22):
Yeah? I do.
Speaker 2 (18:22):
I normally try to be politically correct, but I told y'all,
and I promise y'all after four preseason games, I'm gonna
give you the truth. If I'm coach eva Flus when
we go out there Wednesday to practice and they said, Coach,
we don't have a game plan, and I'm gonna tell
them straight up and look made trying them in they face, Well,
I've given you a game plan the last five games
(18:45):
and you still have done what you wanted to do.
Speaker 6 (18:47):
Fix your own game play because undisciplined.
Speaker 2 (18:57):
I don't know if it's a word worse than that,
but I saw players jumping out of gaps and it
was costing them. I saw safeties walking up to the line,
running the wrong way, doing the wrong things. I saw
linebackers that even if they wanted to do the right things,
(19:17):
the guards and centers was up on them so bad
and knocking them so far back.
Speaker 6 (19:21):
They didn't have a chance.
Speaker 2 (19:22):
So I'm telling myself, Okay, blame coach eva Flus, that's
who's gonna have to pay for it. But sooner or later,
y'all can realize it does take a little bit of discipline.
To play against any team in the NFL, you do
have to have a little bit of discipline, and this
team yesterday was very, very undisciplined.
Speaker 5 (19:44):
That fourth and down play?
Speaker 6 (19:46):
Was it?
Speaker 5 (19:46):
Fourth and four? Fourth and three, fourth and three?
Speaker 4 (19:51):
Like, watching it unfold, I was like, why are you
nine yards off the receiver? Is that a coaching alignment
or is that a player's that should know? Like, Okay,
this is this situation, this is the down, This is
where I know I should creep up.
Speaker 3 (20:05):
So hindsight's always twenty twenty, right, And if the play
works were celebrated it it didn't work, so we're damning it, right.
But the way that that play works is there's a reason,
Like there's no way that dron Blam would line up
eight yards off of guy in his third and three
(20:26):
like that's just elementary. But what he was doing, he
was lined up off and outside basically baiting the quarterback
to say this is the brought Now we want you
to throw, and if you finish watching the play, Kenneth
Murray is mugged up on the left side of the defense.
(20:46):
At the snap, he's supposed to rob the slant, meaning
he's supposed to go from his spot when the ball
is snapped. He's supposed to be on a bee line
to undercut the slant, because that's where we want you
to throw it. We man up everywhere else on the outside.
You throw the slant and the linebacker is supposed to
(21:08):
jump underneath it and knock it down on you're baiting
the throw. You're baiting the throw. What happened was Kenneth
Murray flinched, he hesitated. You go back and you watch
the play. The ball is snap, which is beyond wild
to me because they're in an empty set. There's no back,
(21:29):
there's no running back back there. What are you looking
at like? You? Set like you? The ball was snap
and he kind of did a bounce like as to
say the running back was gonna come his way, and
then he went. But there was nothing back there but
the quarterback. Who wasn't your responsibility on that play. So
you hesitated and didn't get underneath the slant, and you
(21:53):
were a step or two late, and they completed it.
Speaker 6 (21:56):
It's one post.
Speaker 8 (21:57):
And I don't know if it's true or not, but
that this report or whatever it was suggesting that he
was also responsible for the left side too, like he
was waiting to see which way.
Speaker 3 (22:07):
No, no, no, nope. It was manned across the board,
single high sainty in the back. That's why, because if
that's the case, you would have had the Ron Bland
walk up on him and we just gonna man it
across the board, and then he would have either been
inserted into the rush to go get the quarterback or
he would have played the middle and then been spying
whatever way the quarterback would have looked. But that was
(22:28):
supposed to be right there, to that particular to that
particular side, even the alignment was off and outside saying
we were funneling everything into the linebacker that's supposed to
be there, and it it didn't work, And people you know,
said that, ain't know why why not just pay the
corner Why not play the cornerback that you paid all
(22:49):
this money to to play? Straight up? And I'm I'm
with you, But also understand that Matt eber Fluss, where
he comes from it's a linebacker coach first, So a
lot of what he does is based off the play
of the linebacker. All of his defense and his formations
and his coverages, it starts with those guys. That's where
his core foundation is, the linebacking position. And so he's
(23:12):
using and trusting these guys in his scheme the way
he designed it to have solid linebacker play, and so
that's what he knows. He knows linebacker. So he was
using Kenneth Murray, who's a guy on Twitter told me
because I said, was I used the nickname Canine because
I was trying to just I didn't want to say
(23:33):
Keneth Murray because I was running out of the character
to use. And so the dude said, he says, you
got to in order to get a nickname, you got
to make plays. He is now Kenneth from Oklahoma. I said,
I see what you do there, set out to Michael
from Pittsburgh, and I agree, he's Kenneth in Oklahoma now.
But Matt eber Flu's linebacker coach puts a lot of
responsibility and onus on his linebackers to make plays in
(23:55):
the run game, in the passing game. Problem is he
doesn't have good linebackers.
Speaker 5 (24:00):
What do you do from here?
Speaker 4 (24:01):
If you're if you're Jerry and you're upstairs and you're
your Will and you're Steven, Like, do you just roll
with what you got for the next ten twelve weeks
and and hope it doesn't get worse? Because right now
you have what, statistically the best offense of the league
is statistically the worst defense.
Speaker 8 (24:21):
Scoring thirty points and giving up thirty.
Speaker 5 (24:23):
So what do you like from management? What do you
do like?
Speaker 4 (24:27):
Because you don't have the players to play the system
you have, and players aren't playing the system that you've implemented.
Speaker 3 (24:32):
You're hoping And Stephen was on the radio this morning
and he said, there's guys like like, Mingo's coming back,
and then there's another who was no, no, no, no, no, no.
You said Mingo's coming back. But then Kayler Carson is
supposed to be coming back this week, who is same thing?
I said, But he was, remember we cornerback?
Speaker 6 (24:54):
Okay, yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.
Speaker 3 (24:56):
I said to the guys this morning, I was like,
I'm gonna be honest with you guys, I said, I
don't I've forgotten what Piling Carson looks like. I did
go look it up. I thought it was light skinned.
He ain't even like skin brown skinned. Brother. I'm like,
that's how long we haven't seen him, like you've I
literally forgot what he looked like. And so he's supposed
to be. I don't know if that helps, But.
Speaker 4 (25:18):
As I said, more more than one or two guys
away from getting this thing fixed.
Speaker 2 (25:22):
Because remember I was begging y'all not to have this discussion.
Speaker 6 (25:25):
Should we get the draft fix up? I can get
a now, guy, I'm.
Speaker 5 (25:29):
Hanging on with my picks now.
Speaker 6 (25:32):
I wait for a five game for you.
Speaker 5 (25:35):
I'm back.
Speaker 3 (25:36):
Yeah, you just don't. You don't have it like and
I know that you know Rebel is on the way
back and overshone on them back too. I like I
like Rebel. I like over shown these dudes coming off
serious knee injuries and you're talking about inserting them in
the tail end of the season. They ain't gonna help you.
Speaker 5 (25:52):
What's their timeline is? It doesn't even matter been an updates.
It's down the road, isn't it.
Speaker 3 (25:56):
It's November?
Speaker 6 (25:56):
So what do you do?
Speaker 4 (25:57):
You just kind of grin and bear it this year
if you do, and you ownership and just like we
got to get through this, and you.
Speaker 3 (26:03):
Just try to hope, You just try to hope and
pray that this defense can get the twenty fifth, twenty
third right because like in this game against the Panthers,
you needed one stop right, Like this is like and
I was telling Nate this early and I wrote this
down last night. At the end of the third quarter,
(26:27):
there was two minutes in no, no, no, there was like
little with two minutes left. When the Carolina Panthers got
the ball towards the end of the third quarter, they
did Rico run up the middle for seven, called a
time out. They did Jimmy Horn Jr. Jet sweep for
eleven yards, then they did Rico left for seven. Then
(26:47):
they did Rico left for seven for four more. Then
they did Rico right for seven. Third quarter ended, they
did Rico left again for fifteen. They did Rico up
the middle for four. They did a short pass to Rico,
they did a run up the middle for five for
ETN and then they do a pass to Tech. They
(27:07):
did run run, run, run, run, run, run, run, run,
run run, and then you couldn't stop them. And then
the official hammer was when they got the ball back
with six minutes and seven seconds left to go in
the fourth quarter. The Cowboys did not see the football again.
M They wasn't buckled, they did not see thet i'ven't
(27:28):
run football a long time. I ain't never seen a
six minute drive. A six minute like usually got a
two minute drill, got you four minute drill, they said.
They took the four minutes, said we're gonna add two
more on to it. And there was a point in
time in that where the Cowboys try to act as
if they were gonna let Rico get through the defense
and score a touchdown or at ten whoever was running football.
Speaker 5 (27:49):
At that tend because he got up and he was like,
it looked like.
Speaker 3 (27:53):
They normal defense. It looked like it looked normal like.
It wasn't until the end of it. I was like, oh,
they was trying to let him score, and he did,
and then the Cowboys never seen the man he was.
I'm honest, I'm being honest with you.
Speaker 6 (28:08):
I'm being honest. Like.
Speaker 3 (28:11):
It wasn't until he got up and did like that.
I was like, oh, they were trying to let him score.
It looked like they said that. The statistics said that
we go ran for one hundred and eighty three yards.
They said, since like it was like nineteen whatever the
whenever they started doing Cytsico categories for running, that no
(28:34):
back has ever run for that many yards and not
have a single plus twenty yard run.
Speaker 6 (28:39):
Fifteen was his longest.
Speaker 3 (28:42):
He didn't have one. No, twelve was his long.
Speaker 6 (28:45):
Oh twelve is long?
Speaker 3 (28:48):
No, I'm sorry, hold on, he might be right, yeah, fifteen,
Oh yeah, it's passing. Was the rushing that I miss?
Here we go, Yes, fifteen he didn't have one run
over fifty over twenty yards and he rushed for one hundred,
and it could usually a guy get fifty, you know,
(29:08):
break off a seventy yard to nope, six point one
yards of carry. Never.
Speaker 5 (29:15):
All right, let's take our last break. When we come back.
Speaker 4 (29:18):
Some positives tune in to see what that was, or
maybe there was two things find out when we come back.

All right, Chris got Jesse wound up in the break,
so we'll just.
Speaker 5 (32:17):
Roll into that. Chris, what? What did you? What was
your comment that got Jesse going? I said, why didn't
we just wear out Mike Jackson? And Pickens was wearing
out Mike jack here.
Speaker 3 (32:27):
And him out? And I thought that it was because
I got that stat too. Hold on, let me see it.
Speaker 2 (32:33):
I mean, I knew it was going to just start
chunking at things to that kid. I just not like, wow,
he's he on fire.
Speaker 3 (32:40):
Just he had uh he had five catches for seven
three yards and a touchdown on on Mike Jackson. And
it's easy to do it because the way that Kelen did.
The Carolina Pethers play defense. Their best cornerback is j C. Horn.
Remember that name's got that we won in the draft
that Carolyn took them up getting Michael Parsons. But no, no,
(33:02):
needless to say, they only played j. C. Horn to
the boundary, meaning to the short side of the field
if the ball was on the left hash j C
was gonna play on the defensive right hand side if
it was on the whatever the short side of the
field was is where j C played. They played Mike
Jackson on the wide side of the field. So it
(33:23):
wasn't like you were. He wasn't following George Pickens. You
could have just lined up George called the formation when
he was always to the wise side of the field,
and just let him win. And that's what That's the
part where I thought Shoddy missed his moment in this
game was to not complicate simplicity. Here's what, here's a matchup,
because that's all they did. They said, our matchup is
(33:45):
y'all can't y'all can't stop us up front, so we're
gonna just keep running. And I thought one time in
the third quarter, I said, Carolina's biggest op, what's Canalis?
When he went to that series where they they threw
the ball, they were like trying to throw it, they
ended up putting and the Cowboys ended up punting it
right back to him. I said, what are you doing?
(34:06):
I said, question, why would you why would you even
want to consider a pass player at this point in time?
Like I would never have thought about it. Then the
Cowboys didn't capitalize on it. But I was like, shy,
do you miss the moment to where you're supposed to go? Hey, guys,
I don't coach players. I coach players. He can't guard
this guy that we going here. We not, we don't
(34:29):
have to force feeding in there, but that's where we're going.
And those are the moments in the game where you
just like but in Sidey's been such a he's been
in such a great groove of calling plays. Just you
just had an off day.
Speaker 4 (34:43):
What Pickens makes I love watching that guy play because
you never know what in the hell is going to happen,
Like he tried to punch that.
Speaker 5 (34:51):
Dude in the face when he was running out of bounds.
Speaker 4 (34:54):
After every play, I feel like he's gonna mouth off
to somebody and getting a fist fight.
Speaker 5 (34:58):
Like I love watching him play. What's gonna happen.
Speaker 4 (35:01):
When he when CD comes back, Because I mean, he's
he's looking more and more like a number one right
anywhere anywhere else in the league. Here he's you know, two,
we don't have one in one a Jesse already let
us know that. But he's he's making a case for
it is, what do you what's the offense? Are you
(35:21):
gonna have to score forty and just leave no doubt
for the defense and go, Okay, here's what we're gonna do.
We're gonna run and if it doesn't work, we're just
gonna sling it.
Speaker 3 (35:30):
Yes all day long.
Speaker 4 (35:31):
Yes, Can the offense get better when CD comes back?
Speaker 3 (35:35):
You added All Pro player, you get better like you
added All Pro player. You added All Pro player back
to an offense that's already number one in the league.
Speaker 5 (35:42):
Yeah, but there are enough balls to go around. Know
you hear that all the time.
Speaker 4 (35:45):
But literally yet CD Ferguson, No.
Speaker 3 (35:49):
No, the CD pickings and the rest of y'all get
the left of it.
Speaker 6 (35:53):
I understand, Like, it's not a hard it's not a
hard bound show.
Speaker 2 (35:57):
Long enough, Shannon, You've been on a show long enough,
Like he just said, if it's two hundred balls being thrown,
split it up between them two guys, then give Ferguson.
Speaker 6 (36:10):
What he can get.
Speaker 4 (36:11):
But you know what, I'm used to Nate as a
Cowboy fan and being on this show for the last
what close to ten years?
Speaker 5 (36:16):
Right, this is working.
Speaker 4 (36:20):
Let's change the game plan and do something different to
try to make make.
Speaker 5 (36:24):
Outspart our opponents. You don't like, I'm not used to like.
Speaker 4 (36:28):
Yeah, if we need to sling it fifty times a game,
if that's what's working, let's work.
Speaker 5 (36:33):
I'm used to like. This worked the first half.
Speaker 4 (36:35):
Let's get cute and try to show our opponent that
we can win this game another way and not have
to do it.
Speaker 5 (36:41):
So when he gets back.
Speaker 2 (36:44):
Sling it, I mean, I gotta do the thing is
because you still gotta get Booker back, get him going.
You know, I don't think our guy was one hundred
percent I left guard. Yes, I don't think he was
one hundred percent away. He was he was blocking his guy,
don't get me wrong, but he didn't like that bullet
all that he normally be.
Speaker 6 (37:03):
This offense.
Speaker 2 (37:04):
You can see the improvement that they can make our defense.
They they are the reason, and I'm talking about to
a man playing their own defense. They are playing because
you cannot tell me that players don't know down in distance. Now,
(37:30):
somebody on the field at least knows downs and down
in distance. Brother, our defense can't get better because who
do we have missing? Everybody's already there, So that that
is the problem. We're gonna have man and you know
what else? You know what else is gonna gonna be
an issue down the road is how long can fans
(37:53):
stand it? How long can our fans sit up and
feel these stands and not expect for something to change?
Will missus Jones boy down to the pressure of fans
not being in the stands.
Speaker 3 (38:07):
Mister Joel, don't bowed out of nobody. Joel, don't bowed
out of nobody.
Speaker 6 (38:11):
But he does love that mighty dollar.
Speaker 3 (38:14):
And it ain't stopped coming in. It ain't stopped coming in.
It ain't stopped coming in. I ain't saying it ill,
but it ain't stopped coming in. We've been known to
give him a fourth and it ain't stopped coming in.
Speaker 4 (38:26):
What do you say the offense, Let's just say miraculously
this week everybody starts playing their assignment on defense. Why
you do this because I because I don't want to
go through this whole year going it's over.
Speaker 5 (38:43):
It's weeks six.
Speaker 3 (38:44):
We are done.
Speaker 5 (38:46):
We're done. This is what the show is going to
be the next twelve weeks. Is us coming in here going.
Speaker 3 (38:51):
Let's play the good arm rolled through, Let's play your game.
Let's play your game.
Speaker 4 (38:55):
Is it is it as simple as if the guy
as you have on this team play the assignment on
defense that they're giving, can this defense get better?
Speaker 6 (39:09):
I know the defensive line can get worse.
Speaker 3 (39:13):
Ninth defense League.
Speaker 6 (39:14):
I'm telling you.
Speaker 2 (39:18):
Because I don't know if like you was telling about
what's the number ninety four Marshan Marshaan A couple of
times he just knifed in a couple of times he
just let the tight end block him down and he
didn't try to fight back across his face. But if
he had just simply tried to fight back across his face,
it would have took away one of the holes that
(39:40):
the holes as option for.
Speaker 6 (39:42):
The running back.
Speaker 2 (39:43):
If you just decided, hey, man, you know what, I'm
just gonna be the basic guy and play the defense.
Speaker 6 (39:49):
Now. I can't speak for the secondary, Jess can speak.
Speaker 2 (39:52):
For the sad, but for the defensive line, if they
just say, man, I'm gonna hold my ground, I'm gonna
make sure I'm where I supposed to be, this defense
will go up to at least twenty seven.
Speaker 3 (40:04):
And be honest with you, like even yesterday, in this game,
you just need it one stop, You just seed it
one stop the bay. You know, you know what I'm saying,
Like you needed one.
Speaker 5 (40:17):
Stop in six and a half minutes, right, yeah, you.
Speaker 2 (40:20):
Needed one stop in the third period with Jars.
Speaker 5 (40:25):
I was I was yelling with three minutes left, let
him score.
Speaker 3 (40:29):
You needed one stop. And and here's the difficult part
for eba Flus. He has nowhere to go. No Leah foul.
Ain't it? Sam Bourne? Ain't it Dante Fowler? All of
a sudden, now he don't know how to rush the
past it. It's a lot different when they're actually blocking you.
(40:50):
They Didn'tlockhi against the Jets, and he had two sods.
Speaker 6 (40:52):
He was like.
Speaker 3 (40:53):
It was actually something like there's no Kenneth from Oklahoma.
He ain't it Shamar James. He may have a bright future.
And it's fun to see the young guys out there,
and they will try to tell you that he had
fifteen tackles and eleven tackles, but they won't tell you
that those tackles were damn it down the field somewhere
right Like if a god catch the ball ten yards
and your if you drop it back eleven yards and
(41:15):
the god cast the ball ten yards in front of
the tackling, it's a tackle ten yards down the field though,
so there's nowhere for him to go. There's no he
he can't look around and go, this guy's coming back
or this guy is gonna be the next piece. Nothing
like who, I don't even like who you're grabbing for
(41:35):
Guys like Buddy Johnson. His buddy's still the buddies Indianapolis, right, So.
Speaker 6 (41:39):
Like Buddy like ain't coming, you.
Speaker 3 (41:42):
Know what I'm saying, Like you know, even like people
you know, people like James Houston played non snaps yesterday.
You know why. You know why he played non snaps?
Why because they can't go on in and defend the run.
That's why there's nope and that's why he's not's opposed
to he is a higher assassin than going in the
rush to passer. Folks ain't passing. They're just running every
(42:07):
six six yards of carry. That means one run six yards,
two runs, first down, over and over and over and
over again. You can't manufacture pressure because you know, even
in order to manufacture pressure, that basically means you gotta blitz.
(42:27):
That's what manufactured pressure looks like.
Speaker 8 (42:29):
Blitz like five times or something. Yesterday, wired, I mean,
nothing else was working why not do that? Does that
doesn't help you against the run?
Speaker 3 (42:37):
I guess no, because here's the thing is that if
you don't get it, he hit his head on the
goal post. If you if you blitz and you don't
get to him, there's no other There's nobody else. Everyone
else is a man, the man. You turn your back
to the defense to excuse me, to the offense and
get your guard and guy's man the man, and then
I don't know. I believe this is just my personal opinion.
(42:58):
Dig is not healthy. I don't think Diggs. I think
Digg is a shell of himself, honestly, And this is
not me trying to take a shot at him. Deron
Blan is not healthy. I don't believe any one of
those guys are healthy. I don't believe that Diggs is
the player that he once was. I think those injuries
have taken the toll. Sure, And so if you want
(43:21):
to be honest, you don't want Digs out there trying
to run with guys because he can't. Just is my
personal opinion, and this is not me trying to take
I'm just I'm looking at the player and seeing that
he hasn't become what he once was after those injuries,
and most of the time guys don't because those knee injuries,
(43:42):
you have the ACL then you have what they basically
is a microfracture on top of that. Afterwards both one
on you, you have one injury on a different knee.
Speaker 6 (43:52):
So now.
Speaker 3 (43:54):
He's I gotta go man to man and he can't
stand in front of Tyerroald McMillan, hmm. I don't have
to deal with Jimmy Horn or that speed. So you're
damned if you're doing your damned if you don't. Because
if I do blitz now giving up thirty yard place.
If I don't blitz now, I gotta get death by
(44:15):
thousand cuts right like Rico's like I said, I said
it Rico's long as he was fifteen yards yesterday it
was six seven eight, twelve, six, four six three every
seven six. It was just like it's demoralizing.
Speaker 2 (44:31):
Had two hits for losses, one by DV and one
by is demoralizing.
Speaker 3 (44:36):
And and if we're being truly honest, he got tired.
Rico got tired.
Speaker 6 (44:41):
Man. They showed him when the man they were feeding
him bananas.
Speaker 3 (44:45):
They said it was he got tired. He could have
went for two bills.
Speaker 2 (44:51):
They said Coch, they said, Rico, we're gonna put uh,
We're gonna put uh.
Speaker 6 (44:56):
That's we're gonna put it in. And be like, hey man,
they ain't ready to just give him a minute. Yeah,
they ain't fast the seatbelts yet.
Speaker 8 (45:03):
So he got to it right, but it got called
back on the penalties.
Speaker 3 (45:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (45:06):
Yeah, you know how your mama used to tell you
when you're driving the cause she should look back.
Speaker 4 (45:15):
Oh it wasn't buckled up, no, man, Well, Fellas call
us tomorrow.
Speaker 5 (45:22):
Let us know how y'all discipline. Man, know how we feel.
Speaker 2 (45:25):
All you guys and girls have got that what twenty
two they called it all twenty two? And watch gap
integrity for the defense. And see if I'm lying, Bro,
you're talking about bat whether it was coming out of
the secondary, whether it was a defensive lineman, there was
no gap integrity on defense.
Speaker 4 (45:45):
All right, Fellas, good stuff, Jesse, Nate, Kurt, good seeing y'all.
Speaker 5 (45:50):
We'll see you all tomorrow. Give us a call tomorrow, Chris,
thanks for keeping us on the air. Did you get
wet yesterday?
Speaker 6 (45:54):
Chris? Did you get what?
Speaker 3 (45:56):
Yes, a little bit rained on you?
Speaker 6 (45:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (45:59):
The first happened, Jorge, I mean it was.
Speaker 4 (46:01):
It was light though you did tip the room. Coming
all right, Josh, thanks for keeping him the weather man.
We'd be back tomorrow with the get Along Gang. On
hanging with the boys we out.
Speaker 1 (46:14):
This has been a production of Dallascowboys dot Com and
the Dallas Cowboys Football Club.
