How does a football player get picked for jury duty during the season? Is this yet another “distraction”? Plus, we’ve talked about how the Cowboys need to do something different on offense coming out of the bye week. Does the defense need to make adjustments as well? And Nate gets fired up about the pass rush (or lack thereof) while Jesse shares his theory about Dalvin Cook.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
We got a show going the Directional figure Out. Yeah,
tell me about it, Squirrel, tell me about it.

Speaker 5 (03:47):
Man, speaking of Squirrel playing Fortnite with him, No, I'm
not bad. Some of your partners are bad. None to
be named explained what not for Fortnight. It's like call
of Duty but cartoonish. But they but now they have
this no build thing where you I never played it.
Because you could build, You could go to shoot somebody

(04:07):
across the thing and they could just build a house
around them. Real quick, and I was like, man, I
forget that now that there's an option where you can
do no bill, where you just run around and shoot folks.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
You spend your you spend your hard earned American dollars
on skins.

Speaker 5 (04:21):
I have I loaded my accounts, not yet the skins.
Not yet.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
It's basically outfits.

Speaker 5 (04:27):
Yes, actually had about thanos.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
Okay, it's outfits that they they're they're very character character.

Speaker 5 (04:33):
You bought me bout than you did, Chris, run people.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
You spend all that money, you'd be outside, it'd be wet.
I had to, and you spent your American dogs skin.

Speaker 6 (04:47):
I had to.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
Who do I buy?

Speaker 5 (04:51):
Oh, Lady Gaga, No, you did know?

Speaker 1 (04:56):
My daughter gifted that?

Speaker 5 (04:58):
Okay, the one I've been wearing all the the banana.
No Shack, Oh yeah, he bought Shack Shack and Shack diesel.
It's pretty funny.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
It's funny.

Speaker 6 (05:06):
He pulls out a turntable and start starting.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
You want to know the.

Speaker 5 (05:10):
Funniest thing we do is we at a group again,
sorry to stop the show to play the game. In general,
he has grown men.

Speaker 9 (05:18):
Old man, you could be doing cocaine. It could be
who says we're not we're not. We're not. This is
what this is.

Speaker 5 (05:31):
That, this is this is what dads do it night.
That's what we all pick a different banana costume. There's
a bunch of different bananas. And then when we when
we wipe a team out, there's a dance you can
do to Backstreet Boys, Bye bye bye.

Speaker 6 (05:46):
Got your line up and doing it.

Speaker 5 (05:47):
Problem, they're watching the bananas dance like this, and the
people have to watch it till they get back at
the lobby. So there's some thirteen year old go ahead,
these jackasses killed group of bananas.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
It is. They don't even know the song, they don't
even know who. Yeah, it's so funny.

Speaker 5 (06:06):
But these fifty old men due how we do?

Speaker 10 (06:09):
All?

Speaker 2 (06:09):
Right?

Speaker 1 (06:09):
Question for you about distraction?

Speaker 5 (06:11):
Uh, distract another one. Here's another one. You guys have
been either in the league or around the league for
probably a combined total of fifty years, probably between the
two of you, fifty sixty years. Have you ever heard
of a pro football player getting not just going, durry dude,

(06:34):
but getting picked for jury duty?

Speaker 1 (06:36):
Picked, yes, going and having.

Speaker 5 (06:38):
To actually serve. So the news came out yesterday. You
broke it to us through a tweet. You saw right
next you saw that Brandon Aubrey has been picked to
be on a twelve person jury. I guess. So we
were all trying to figure out I've never heard that.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
I'm not selected for jewelry duty when I was playing.
But I just took it down to necessary folks and saying, hey,
what do I do with this? They took the letter
and was like, go to the meeting, won't know, worry
about it, and that was the end of it. I I,
for the life of me, I don't know if he
wanted to go, if he wanted to go to Jerry duty.

Speaker 5 (07:18):
Or he just didn't, because think about it, he hasn't
been in the league that long. He may not even
have known that you can do that. He may have
just been like, it's my day all around here long
enough that you can get you know, you can get
stuff taken care of.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
That, you take things of that magnitude of that matter.
You go see cave or you go see lawns, you
go see one of those two. You go down there
and you go, hey, cable be dub.

Speaker 5 (07:41):
I would love to know the backstory, because there's gotta
be something, or he just went and sad was like
it's my day off. I'm just gonna go sit next.
She picked him.

Speaker 1 (07:48):
It wasn't his day off. It was Wednesday, that's a
practice day.

Speaker 5 (07:52):
Maybe he got picked on Tuesday.

Speaker 6 (07:54):
Yeah, maybe he went down on Tuesday day in his
first day to serve. I don't know what day.

Speaker 1 (07:59):
I would love to know.

Speaker 11 (08:00):
I just don't understand how a third of our offense
got selected.

Speaker 1 (08:08):
Story in person.

Speaker 6 (08:09):
The funny thing is if you look the story about
the judge that got the judge played for Nord Yes, seventies, he's.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
A seventies Yeah, come on, come on, judge, come on,
judge man.

Speaker 6 (08:22):
I told you all, and apparently the judges father in
law played for the Packers.

Speaker 5 (08:27):
I told y'all my story right about getting out of
jury duty. I went, I had to go. You know,
you go in the certain amount of people make it
into the big room, certain amount of people get cut
before you even go into the big room. In the
big room with probably sixty seventy people, and the judges like,
and it was it was going to be a long case.
It was over. I could tell. They can't tell you

(08:48):
what it is, but I could tell it was a
It was a important drug territory. Case that someone got murdered. Wow,
isn't this one about murder too? This is a felony, Fellas, it.

Speaker 6 (08:58):
Was a felony strangling they die.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
Now.

Speaker 5 (09:05):
I knew this thing was going to probably be a
while while I, me and Roxanne were going to the
draft the next morning on Jerry's plane to We drafted
Zeke that year Chicago, and I was only I was
the only social media person that could go at that time.
And they were like, Hey, is there anybody that has
a reason outside of just work that you can't do that?

(09:27):
And I'm sitting there and like, I got to raise
my hand, and this one lady, she stands up. She's like,
I've had this trip scheduled for six months. I met
my biological sister through Facebook about a year ago, and
our families have planned this trip and we're all going
and it's this big deal and our plane leaves tomorrow.
We're doing this. And the judge was like, why I
can't keep you from doing that? You can go anybody else.
I raised my hand, told him the story, and he goes,

(09:50):
I've been a judge for forty years and that's probably
the best excuse I've ever heard. He's like you, sir,
you can you can leave. And I really wanted to
be on the jury because I wanted to be part
of the process, but I I had the only person
that could go, so so Brandon Aubrey, good luck. When
does it happen? When is the trial starting?

Speaker 1 (10:08):
Hopefully?

Speaker 5 (10:08):
They said schures on the.

Speaker 6 (10:09):
Injury report today as uh did not participate again.

Speaker 1 (10:14):
I mean, wow, that's crazy.

Speaker 5 (10:16):
That is crazy. So I just wondered if y'all.

Speaker 1 (10:18):
Know I probably shouldn't say, but you gotta know how
I do what I shouldn't say.

Speaker 6 (10:23):
You want to do?

Speaker 1 (10:24):
You want to think about it?

Speaker 5 (10:24):
I don't, okay, don't.

Speaker 1 (10:27):
How insane would it be if this game come down
to three points and he misses a field goal?

Speaker 5 (10:31):
Oh, it's gonna happen.

Speaker 6 (10:34):
Say that crazy. What's gonna really stink for him is
he probably have to be back in the jury box
Monday morning.

Speaker 1 (10:41):
We get home at four. That's what's don't know how
this did not get squashed. I don't know how there
are there is enough people.

Speaker 5 (10:51):
Chris, go kick the tires, see if you can find
out the backstore.

Speaker 1 (10:54):
Hey, you know this, there's enough folks around here, like
I have just seen Joco's got some some serious stuff
court dates and stuff like that, jail time, stuff like that,
A jewelry duty situation that should have been easy. Hey,
one of the guys, you got to hear Brandon Aubrey.
He is, he's the leading scorer. He has a game

(11:17):
on Sunday's VP. Yeah, he's literally the only positive thing
we have going right now. Please, let's can we get him.

Speaker 5 (11:24):
Here's the one thing squad guy's being on jury.

Speaker 6 (11:27):
If one guy couldn't miss and be okay for Sunday,
to him, it's either him or the deep snapper or anger, Yeah,
or the deep snapper. I don't know the deep snaper.

Speaker 1 (11:37):
So what happens if Because kickers and and punters, they're
very they're they're they're very superstiting, routine driven, routine driven.
I don't get enough kicks in. I didn't get enough
practice in.

Speaker 6 (11:49):
Now that came out today about about kicks in. Right,
So he kicks. He's kicking today, he kicked yesterday when
he got back. As soon as he's done today, he's
coming back working with bones and then he doesn't kick
the rest of the week on a normal week. That's
normal week. So he says he gets a couple of
kicks in on Thursdays and doesn't kick for the rest
of the week. You don't wear your leg out. So he's.

Speaker 11 (12:12):
Whatever they have him doing, trying to just help decide
somebody's faith, hoping it ain't something just really dramatic, you know,
something really bad that just stays on his mind because
he's you know, yeah, they have.

Speaker 5 (12:26):
A deadline jury and they try to sway him, and
then dealing with that on the sideline ways, that's crazy.

Speaker 1 (12:34):
That's a scenario the days of our lives. Man.

Speaker 5 (12:37):
We were just talking about tours and distractions. Yesterday I heard.

Speaker 1 (12:43):
Stops, Man, I was reading that.

Speaker 11 (12:46):
Out of all this stuff I could read in ESPN,
they had that in it.

Speaker 1 (12:51):
So, yes, what y'all talked about, I lived it yesterday.

Speaker 5 (12:54):
The tours, Oh yeah, we spent a whole segment on.

Speaker 1 (12:56):
It, double triple dippings yesterday. Did you leave this building yesterday?
Here all day I'm telling your business.

told that night people are playing your clips out today.

Speaker 7 (13:13):
Yeah you was, man, you was having fun.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
Give me a lot of funny.

Speaker 5 (13:16):
Why did his clips get out today? He say something controversial.

Speaker 1 (13:20):
It was very passionate, very passionate.

Speaker 5 (13:22):
Nate was, yeah, get into that and very passionate.

Speaker 1 (13:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (13:28):

Speaker 1 (13:31):

Some who was on the panel what panel of what
my brother? No?

Speaker 6 (13:51):
I mean like who was interview with Nick?

Speaker 12 (13:53):
Nick, Eamon, Bobby and the new guy to Tommy, Oh Tommy, Okay,
got to all right, well, since we've talked about jury
duty for the whole first segment.

Speaker 6 (14:04):
Can I give you one more thing on imagine? On
NBC Sunday Night Football, they did the starting lineups and
Aubrey's like, you know, Brandon Aubrey, you know, Notre Dame,
you know jury number seventeen.

Speaker 1 (14:18):
Town County. That's funny. They should do that. They should
do that.

Speaker 5 (14:24):
They should all right, let's take our first break when
we come back We'll break down some rubbing.

Football Sunday Night Football Cowboys in prime time. Both teams

(17:36):
are really banged up. We talked about the offense needing
to come out and do something different. Jesse. You you
said you you as a player, would need to see
some type of difference in the game plan going into
the game.

Speaker 1 (17:51):
For you to so, do Jerry.

Speaker 5 (17:52):
Feel like, yeah, feel like there's some changes and be optimistic. Correct?
Do you feel you guys feel the same way about
the defense? Do they need to do things different to
get the defense excited and stay balled in rebuy back
into what Zim's trying to do.

Speaker 11 (18:14):
I don't know about to rebuy, you know, because it
don't look like they've bought into it at all.

Speaker 1 (18:20):
They ain't doing it first bot they need to go
by best bye. I hope that's spots.

Speaker 11 (18:31):
But I've been saying this for a couple of days now.
Young men, we don't have but one safety because the
other one is gonna live in the box.

Speaker 7 (18:45):
I'm gonna stop the run.

Speaker 1 (18:47):
You can.

Speaker 11 (18:48):
This is the only way you can beat the forty
nine ers. I'm bringing that first and second down and
run situations. I'm bringing the extra guy to the box.

Speaker 1 (18:57):
Can I give you can? I give you can? I
put poo on your do what you gotta do, Do
what you gotta do. And this that came from my
boy Jeff Kavanaugh. The Cowboys are one of the leading
teams in the National Football League with guys in the
box outside of your normal formation, six seven eight guys

(19:20):
in the box, leading one of the leading teams in
the league to have more guys in the box per
play per play for yeah, going up against the offense,
the Cowboys also lead the league and run still being

(19:41):
completed with more guys in the box to block. So
even when they bring more guys in the box to
stop the run, they're giving up more yards than anybody
who has more positive yards than anybody who has guys
in the box fifty percent, fifty percent success rate running

(20:03):
on the Cowboys when they have a loaded box defensively. Defensively,
teams are running at a fifty percent clip success rate
against the Cowboys defense. So what does that tell you?

Speaker 11 (20:18):
Almost almost word that tells you that guys are not
doing their assignment number one and they do not have
a willingness to tackle correct. And I will still have
to say they I will own that one. What is
called single high safety? I will I will ask my preaser.

(20:41):
It ain't no more of demanding anything these days, but
I will overemphasize gap integery.

Speaker 1 (20:49):
You got to because these guys.

Speaker 7 (20:51):
Rushed for one hundred and forty nine point nine.

Speaker 11 (20:54):
Yards and so it's it's over, it's over five or
give it fifty one hundred and fifty yards game.

Speaker 7 (21:01):
Not this game.

Speaker 11 (21:02):
They don't this game. They do it every game. So
you have to bring a guy into the box. Great stack,
great numbers, yes, but you have to tackle first and
second down and ax, missus Kavanaugh. We probably the worst
team in the world first second down. That's what that
stat tells me. Because now third down is a throwaway

(21:26):
down for most teams. This third and one, third and two,
we can either run or pass whatever. You gonna have
to change the way you.

Speaker 1 (21:34):
Think Cowboys are averaging. I think I think it's a
third and like six point eights basically third and seven.
That's a defensive dream to be in third all offensively,
they're averaging like third and like seven point two yards.

Speaker 5 (21:50):
Just ten years back ago. Because you know what's coming.

Speaker 1 (21:52):
You just play and you play the percentages you got
to pass here. So eventually you might get one, but
we'll get the next one and then you know, well
the next two.

Speaker 5 (22:00):
So and if you do trick it up and run
who you running it with? How does that work out
for you?

Speaker 1 (22:04):
You know?

Speaker 11 (22:05):
See Taylor is Kevian or thank you, thank you, because
it just yeah, okay, thank you, thank you, no, Jeff
is my dude.

Speaker 1 (22:18):
He's the numbers guy.

Speaker 11 (22:19):
And that tells me this has nothing to do with
the scheme. This tells me it has everything to do
with the players. Well, because normally, when you put a
player in position to succeed and he sees that he
has that advantage, normally he succeeds in the NFL.

Speaker 5 (22:36):
So, coach Jim said, the defenses, they're just inconsistent and
not disciplined enough. So how do you coach that? Or
can you coach?

Speaker 1 (22:44):
You actually coach it? How like you? You you got
to drive that into calling folks out right, not only
calling folks out pinching some folks. You got to call
for maybe a player two to go. You know what, dog,
you go ahead, you just coach, just do that these days.
That's a good question.

Speaker 7 (23:03):
You don't, Jess, I mean that work?

Speaker 5 (23:06):
Well?

Speaker 7 (23:06):
You said, man, can I can I poop on you?
You know I'm saying this, dude, gonna go on with
some numbers.

Speaker 11 (23:13):
I mean, that's the new thing now. If you're smart
enough what you are, you got numbers to your facts.
I'm an eye guy, and I'm always gonna be an
eye guy. My eyes is gonna tell me the same thing.
But jest's gonna go a little deeper with the numbers
if you don't. If you saw repeatedly in this past game,

(23:34):
when this team went outside that we just recently played,
certain guys could have came up and tackled for only
a three yard game. It turned into five and seven
yard games. That's a willingness not to tackle. It's just
if you want to stop this guy and help your
team and sacrifice for your team, you do what you

(23:55):
have to do. We are bragged on our safeties year
in a year out for the last few years, and
it started kind of fraying a little bit. Now we
can't even depend on our safeties. Well, where's Marquis Bell?
Why not give him a chance? I'm with you, say,
hey man, you got you gotta get out Marquis, you
got a shot. She's give another guy a chance. I mean,

(24:19):
I mean, hell, they played him at linebacker.

Speaker 5 (24:20):
Why not bring him in as the extra guy in
the box.

Speaker 1 (24:23):
Why not give He's a surer tackle than what's been happening.
My only rebuttal to that is the guy that you've
been sitting on the bench. It's making seven million dollars.
I know I know, and we don't.

Speaker 5 (24:35):
We don't around here.

Speaker 1 (24:36):
Around here, you get paid you.

Speaker 11 (24:38):
He's still making he's still making it seven million dollars
unless you cut him, unless he get injured.

Speaker 7 (24:45):
Well you know you got some injury. Thing is different.

Speaker 1 (24:48):
He's still making it sell million.

Speaker 5 (24:49):
Now that you know from the history around here. If
you if you get that contract, you played sometimes when
every single thing you should not playing. You got the money,
so you played before.

Speaker 1 (25:01):
Because that like to your point, and we'll stay on
that particular player. Everything says you should probably give Markquis
Beller shot. Everything says that, let's see what happens.

Speaker 5 (25:17):
Yes, why not?

Speaker 1 (25:18):
Why not? The only the only thing that that is
a deterrent is yeah, you're not gonna put seven I'm
not putting a seven million dollar jersey on the sideline.

Speaker 7 (25:32):
For two hundred and.

Speaker 1 (25:35):
Even if it means it may help my football team.
Not mean and but but because I didn't say if we're,
if we're, if you've looked at it, I've looked at it,
you've heard about it. What else can you say about it?
Like can't cover not tackling, not doing proper lot of assignment.

(25:56):
Everything called for you to give the other guy who's
most people saying this is a good football player. Now
I give that guy try What is what is the
hold back? What is the hold up? That's the only
thing that I can come and see is that one
guy makes seven million, one guy makes seven hundred thousand,
whatever it is, and just don't I'm not. I'm not

(26:21):
sitting seven million dollars on the bench.

Speaker 8 (26:26):
Hmm.

Speaker 5 (28:53):
Welcome back to the VINL segment of Hanging with the Boys,
brought you each and every day by Jigsaw, the proud
dating partner of the Dallas Cowboys, and a piggyback on
where we left off with the run game, the running
back that you may or may not be real familiar
with in San Francisco's backfield right now in Christian Christ
McCaffrey's absence hasn't played it down yet this year uh

(29:14):
Mason he leads the NFL and missed tackles at fifty
three and Dallas has missed a tackle on fifteen point
eight percent of their chances to tackle running back highest.

Speaker 1 (29:25):
In the NFL.

Speaker 5 (29:27):
So the mass not mathing in this game. When it
comes to the run game.

Speaker 7 (29:32):
You had another fifteen fifteen, So.

Speaker 5 (29:40):
What do you think I mean, Sam fran this is
the probably the best opportunity for you in the last
three or four years to play them because they're so
banged up. Right, Like Debo is still not practicing yet
this week, so he may be out. Iuk's out, Christian
McCaffrey's out, Kittles beat up pers. All I think is

(30:03):
is he coming back?

Speaker 1 (30:04):
He said he's back, He's back.

Speaker 5 (30:05):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (30:06):
Someone said the other day he said the only the
only healthy receiver that the Niners guy is a guy
that got shot two months ago.

Speaker 5 (30:14):
So what I would expect a healthy dose of the
run game until the Cowboys stop it. If I'm saying
Franz offense, it's what's worked against him, right.

Speaker 1 (30:25):
If Jennings was there, if a Yuk was there, if
Deebo is there, if Kettle is there, I still expect
a healthy dose of the running game. You guys been
with me long enough, and you've heard me say this
long enough. When we get down to doing like you know,
how many games the team's gonna win, YadA, YadA, YadA.

(30:46):
I always come in here and I say a head
coach should be good for one to two games a
season by themselves. They should be able to put together
a game plan and something that call the right plays
at the right time to use a Michael from Pittsburgh's

(31:09):
quote a mojo moment to get their team to victory.
Well you leave the game, you go, whoof man, we
want to both to win that one, but we got
it one out. I look at this situation, two teams
who desperately need wins, desperately need wins. I look at

(31:32):
this and I go, my coach, I don't believe is
coaching in a manner in which it elevates those two
maximum potential and to some degree above maximum potential, Because
sometimes a good coach can take an average guy and

(31:55):
get and get a little bit more out of them.
Look at the Niners coach, and I go, that's a
dude who could take whatever he got left. You know,
we all come from humble beginnis, right. We've all been
in situations where Mama and Wit there and she thene
cracked up in a canopies and y'alla had some leftover

(32:16):
fat back and some rice, and she didn scrapple up
together and throw some paper, rika, some garlics something on
there and served you a meal. May not been the
best meal, but it fed you for that night. Cole's
the kind of guy that it may not look the
best and it may not actually sound the best, but
I'm gonna put something together that these scraps that I

(32:37):
do have left, these healthy scraps, I'm gonna make them
play two and above their potential. I'm gonna put together
a game plan that maximizes that it may not look
how it looked, and I'll run to the super Bowl.
But right now, and we're on a bye week next week,
Right now, I need to get the most out of

(32:58):
these guys and then we go get healthy or at
least get a chance to rest up and to reset.
That's the part where I look at coaching and say,
how a coach can elevate a team to a victory
or two in the season when you're probably not expected
to get one. I don't believe that our coach presents that.
I do believe the coach that we're going up against

(33:19):
will adjust, will steal, will steal plays, We'll look at
what the Saints did. We'll look at what Baltimore did.
We'll look at what the Lions did, and go, what's
one of those or two of those, or three of
those plays or four or five of those plays will
work for us? Implement it in this week's assignment and

(33:43):
go out there and make Hay with it.

Speaker 5 (33:45):
Nathan san Fran offensive line did not give up a
sack and only seven pressures in thirty seven pass plays
against KC's defensive line, which is a lot better than Dallas.

Speaker 1 (33:58):
They got Chris Jones too. They have that guy.

Speaker 5 (34:01):
Do you have any any hope that the Cowboys can
get pressure on Party this week or anything you see that?

Speaker 11 (34:08):
Let me say this right here, taking away the numbers
that Jesse has presented, No, we do not have a chance.
You talk about I always believe this, Let me get
this in you always believe this. That uh and you've

(34:30):
also heard me say a coach is good for one
or two wins a year, but this but the players themselves.

Speaker 1 (34:37):
You you have had you, if you got.

Speaker 11 (34:40):
Anything in you, you've got to say, what can I do?

Speaker 1 (34:46):
It's the coach.

Speaker 11 (34:48):
The thing is, you don't ask a player to do
more than what he is. And if you have a
gap that you're responsible for, whether you you gotta penetrate
the gap, whether you got to put both hands and
catch the guy coming at it coming out that you're
using your hands, whether you got to step inside and

(35:08):
go back outside to that gap. You have to do
what's up necessary to maintain your gap. Because this team
is gonna run the ball. We've said at weekend and
week out. They have to be just an idiot to say,
you know what, let me throw the ball all over
the place. They will have to be an idiot. But

(35:29):
it's time for Osa, It's time for Mozzie and the
other four backup defensive ends to come up with a
with a with a good game as a whole. You
just can't have Massie play well. It's not gonna work.
You just gotta have Usa play well. It's not gonna work.
It's gonna take all four. And I'm talking about down

(35:52):
lineman doing their jobs exceptionally well. These guys. If you
go look at the film, these guys, no matter what
has happened around them, skill position wise, they blocked their man.

Speaker 1 (36:06):
You've seen the film. They blocked their man.

Speaker 11 (36:09):
And you're gonna have to dominate them in certain situations.

Speaker 7 (36:13):
One on one.

Speaker 1 (36:15):
Does the Cowboys have it? We'll see. We'll see what
one week will do. I apologize, Nate, what's wrong. I
gotta poot pull another one of your situations. Do what
you gotta do. MARTHI. Smith has not recorded a single
pressure of any of his eighty pass rushes this season.

(36:36):
He's the only dtackle with zero pressures on at least
fifty pass rushes. There are just sixteen dts to not
record a pressure through seven weeks with at least fifty
pass rushes since two thousand and eighteen. That is pro.
That is from NFL pro.

Speaker 11 (36:53):
You didn't no, no, no, no, you didn't hear, So
you're My thing is only versus run, right.

Speaker 1 (37:00):
Talking about pressure and doing things like that. I'm talking
about what to to what Shannon's question was?

Speaker 11 (37:07):
His question was can they stop the run? Is that
is I'm correct that I missed quoted.

Speaker 1 (37:12):
I was.

Speaker 5 (37:12):
I was asking you if they could get pressure.

Speaker 1 (37:15):
You're talking about past pressure or run pressure.

Speaker 5 (37:18):
Past either one really, but I was talking specifically past
for that one.

Speaker 11 (37:23):
The bottom line is this right here. You don't have
those type of guys. Yeah, and you know you don't
you don't.

Speaker 1 (37:29):
Have those times?

Speaker 11 (37:30):
I was thinking he was talking about run stopping to
run because sorry, y'all, I'm my bad. I'm locked in
on one thing because if they don't stop the run,
it don't matter.

Speaker 5 (37:42):
So a good question, I see.

Speaker 11 (37:44):
Let me let me say this right here, fellas, I
know what it takes to win this game. You do
you know what it takes to win this game. I'm
gonna tell you what it takes to win this game.

Speaker 1 (37:58):
Fellas.

Speaker 11 (37:59):
We we we you gotta stop catering to what we ain't.

Speaker 1 (38:06):
And we every week we get on here.

Speaker 11 (38:08):
For the last six weeks, seven weeks, we've gotten on
this radio, on this podcast and talk about a pass rush.

Speaker 1 (38:16):
We ain't had it since the beginning of the year.

Speaker 11 (38:20):
We I'm like, when is everybody gonna open their eyes
and realize that every good team that comes in here
is gonna just start running the ball.

Speaker 5 (38:31):
And we keep talking about a pass rush?

Speaker 1 (38:34):
What past rush?

Speaker 7 (38:36):
When I can rush for one hundred.

Speaker 11 (38:38):
And eighty yards and throw for one hundred and ten,
that's normal years, that's a flip flop. I rushed for
one hundred and ten yards and throw for one hundred
and eighty yards.

Speaker 1 (38:49):
When have we done that.

Speaker 5 (38:50):
Well, if you don't have the guys to stop the run,
what do you do to stop it?

Speaker 11 (38:54):
You you manufactured how by those bad numbers he gave me,
you got to you to do them. The bottom line
is this, it's very few babies that pass crawling. They
don't go from on their knees to walking. There's very

(39:15):
few babies. Now that's probably some miracle babies out there
with My baby didn't crawl down one step, It got
up on the day and it walked.

Speaker 1 (39:22):
That ain't happening.

Speaker 11 (39:24):
So I forgive me y'all for being locked in to
what it takes to win.

Speaker 1 (39:31):
Only thing that whenever we.

Speaker 11 (39:34):
Have stopped, whether it's a sorry team, a great team,
our mediocre team, go and check the records, get your numbers.
When we've held teams around one hundred hundred and ten,
we've had a great chance of winning the game. And
so forgive me for not understanding that you were talking
about pastor if you have said Nate pass rush, I'll

(39:55):
just told you no, no conversation.

Speaker 7 (39:56):
Now to turn straight over the jests. No, you don't
have to pass as rushes.

Speaker 5 (40:01):
Well, you already told me we couldn't stop the running.
So I moved on to the past rush and right
now it just to be on the pass rushing tip.

Speaker 1 (40:10):
The one player who could manufacture the chaos Micah Micah, and.

Speaker 5 (40:20):
The only other guy that had a little bit of
manufactured chaos the Marcus.

Speaker 1 (40:25):
The Marcus is not playing right. And Michael from Pittsburgh
said that he has to see something by Saturday because Tomorrow,
for technically for the Cowboys like another walkthrough on Friday.
He's not practicing the day. Tomorrow's a glorified walk through
for the Cowboys, and then they ramp up again on Saturday.
So he said, I need to see something significant on

(40:47):
Saturday in order for him to play in the game.

Speaker 5 (40:49):
Doesn't sound good.

Speaker 1 (40:51):
I'm just saying, like my sources in the building says
that it doesn't look too.

Speaker 5 (40:56):
Likely that he's going to be there. He's gonna make
signif thinking a.

Speaker 1 (41:01):
Lot of good drugs in the locker room and then
in the locker room, but in the in the medical room.
That may that may help two different things, different things.
The question, the question that we have here is.

Speaker 7 (41:17):
What's his pain tolerance.

Speaker 11 (41:20):
And and can he play in the physical stress that
that that is how we did it when we played,
you know, you still had the high ankle sprame and
you three weeks in or four weeks in and they
watch you run, and then the next day you come
in and you just limping a little bit and you say,
as a player, I'm good, and then they do what

(41:43):
we do and then you play. So is that an option?
Do they need him one hundred percent? Because he one
of those guys where you need I'm one hundred percent.
We'll be having the same discussion next week.

Speaker 5 (42:00):
I don't know when did DeAndre Hopkins get traded.

Speaker 1 (42:03):
To the Chiefs two days ago? Two days ago?

Speaker 5 (42:05):
Well, Andy Reid said he's probably playing Sunday.

Speaker 1 (42:09):
Oh we do that. It's crazy how that works. You
bring a guy in you don't need, you don't need
no ramp up, you don't need two and a half
months of conditioning and learn to playbook only around you
know me? And let me say something about that because
we've been on this Doalvin Cook thing about is he
gonna play? When is he gonna play? In my opinion

(42:31):
this I'm not haven't talked to anybody. It's now or never.
Like if Dalvin Cook doesn't play this week.

Speaker 5 (42:38):
After coming off the by and it's happening.

Speaker 1 (42:42):
He's so ramped up. It can't be no more ramping
for him. It can't be he conditioned up, ramped up,
no the plays. If he don't know enough plays by now,
then the theory of dumb jock is in full swing.
And I don't believe that theory because the number of
plays that you got to learn and memorize and know
and coverage you and all this happen the same time.
What I this is just this is this is Jesse

(43:04):
Holly's theories. My theories and thoughts are not representation of
Nate or Shannon or Cowboys organization. My theory is this
you in order to in order to elevate and play
Dalvin Cook, you either have to carry four running backs

(43:30):
hunter lympke Ezekiel, Elliott, ric o'dae and No No No,
and Dalvin Cook. Yea. So now what you're the depleted
on defense, so you need all those guys hunter Lyfkey
is a special of course, special teams. God plays all
four special teams.

Speaker 5 (43:51):
You're not benching Rico.

Speaker 1 (43:52):
You're not benching Rico. Your So now you have to
admit the fact that you made a really, really, really
bad decision and signing Zeke if you have to healthy
scratch him and not give him one of those forty
eight jerseys on Sunday. And I don't know if they're
ready to do that just yet, because if I if
I sit Zeke, if I healthy scratch Zeke and I'm not,

(44:15):
this is just my theory. If I healthy scritch Zeke,
it is ultimately admitting that this is not the guy
who we thought was going to come in here and
help us like we thought he would and not then
brings back up the conversation which I'm done talking about
with Derrick Henry right because they're gonna say, well, you
brought Zeke in for these things he bought and now

(44:36):
it's Dalvin Cook. So now you have to admit the
fact that this player was probably a bad decision in
your off offseason. But that's okay, it's okay for who is.

Speaker 11 (44:50):
Let me say this right here in team building and
trying to be the best you can be. Okay, we
made a mistake. Zeke ain't what we thought he was.
We need some type of punch bring down and in.

Speaker 1 (45:11):
Jesse, you do a great.

Speaker 8 (45:12):
Job of this this futuristic stuff that we got over
there these now guys that knew it and don't want
to make nobody sad.

Speaker 1 (45:22):
But it's still football. Yeah, but it ain't. It ain't.
But Ze could get over it. This chuck still gonna
get cashed. It's positive Tuesday. It's about right about now.

Speaker 11 (45:40):
Of helping your team, and and and and and and
I listen, believe me, Bro, because I'm gonna throw your
numbers out on the next show. I am.

Speaker 1 (45:49):
I use, I use everybody's stuff.

Speaker 11 (45:52):
But when it comes to the human factor, we still
got to put eight guys in the box. Whether the
numbers barren out or not, we still got to put
eight guys in the box. You still got to find
a running game. So whether it hurts zike feelings or not,
I mean, I'm just saying.

Speaker 1 (46:11):
Who fought was man?

Speaker 11 (46:13):
I was so hot last year about Zike not being here,
but I'm a year off.

Speaker 1 (46:19):
I missed that opportunity.

Speaker 11 (46:21):
Now it's time for Delvin Cook to come in here
and if he's got anything, it's time to play. It's
time to quit worrying about whether a guy makes seven
million dollars.

Speaker 1 (46:31):
It's the guy that can play the best.

Speaker 11 (46:34):
It don't come a point because as the season go
on and the loss is mount up.

Speaker 1 (46:40):
I will be sitting there like, hey man, that boy
show up the good.

Speaker 11 (46:43):
Well we should have been doing that five weeks ago.

Speaker 7 (46:49):
It's at a point now where.

Speaker 11 (46:52):
Freaky Mike Michael from Pittsburgh cannot take any chances anymore.
You play your best people, you think the people that's
the best. And I promise you, mister Jones gonna come
and say, hey, Nate, Now you told me two years
ago to Payton's got seven million dollars. But coach different defense,

(47:13):
different man, acting different things.

Speaker 5 (47:17):
Yeah, man, yeah, all right, good stuff fellas. Nate and
I are out tomorrow. You do you pick right now? Yes, sir,
what you picked?

Speaker 1 (47:25):
Tomorrow?

Speaker 11 (47:28):
I want the Jesse if we do this, and if
we do that, we will did I can make my pick.

Speaker 5 (47:36):
You need to text us tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (47:39):
I'll text out about predictions.

Speaker 5 (47:43):
Yeah, I'll give you my predication.

Speaker 1 (47:46):
I'll text shot. I'll text you before the show because do.

Speaker 5 (47:48):
We think it's going to be a close game without
giving a score, or do we think it's gonna be
not close?

Speaker 11 (47:53):
Because I wanted to just say, if they rush for
one hundred and thirty touch.

Speaker 5 (47:58):
Jesse, you don't think at home at night.

Speaker 1 (48:01):
Oh this is not there.

Speaker 5 (48:04):
Yeah, keep thinking it's here on the road. You just
don't think it's gonna be close. I know what your
score is, well, I know who you have winning.

Speaker 11 (48:14):
You know I got the Cowboys win it. I'm just
praying that Jeff Cavanaugh numbers gonna get still.

Speaker 5 (48:25):
This is that anomaly. Yeah a Jesse. Good seeing next week, Nate,
have a safe trip, man. Make sure you uh take
some something to relax you on the.

Speaker 1 (48:37):
Praying and praying.

Speaker 5 (48:40):
Kurt, hope you feel better. Chris, thanks for keeping us
on their Josh Jass, thanks for keeping them company.
