There while you dressed up? Man, why are you not?
Speaker 6 (01:12):
Why are you not?
Speaker 3 (01:14):
The question TV guard I'm trying to match.
Speaker 6 (01:17):
Ed We're trying to achieve a standard here, you know.
Shot he talks a lot about standards. Dak talks about
standard we're trying to meet our standard.
Speaker 3 (01:24):
Yeah, fix things like I'm just trying to.
Speaker 4 (01:28):
So this morning I had to give a speech for
some students over at tamp County Community Costa.
Speaker 3 (01:35):
Look you looked apart. Speech maker did that? So went
from there to the star. There you go.
Speaker 4 (01:42):
So that's that. Normally I would know. Normally I would not,
but hey, as Ron Washington know, I said, do what
the game ask you to do?
Speaker 3 (01:49):
There you go, there you go.
Speaker 4 (01:50):
So so so there we go, speaking of do what
the game ask you to do? Ceed, Lamb is coming back,
says he's ready to go healthy.
Speaker 3 (01:58):
What's amazing could do for you? That was my next.
Speaker 4 (02:04):
What nine but one leaping leaping over people? And I
asked Dak Prescott. I said, Dak, so seeing the kind
of chemistry you have with Pickings, and would you go
to Jerry and say, hey, keep the man around.
Speaker 3 (02:18):
He said he plans to have that conversation here.
Speaker 6 (02:20):
But c said he was gonna do that for Mike
McCarthy too, and maybe he did, and.
Speaker 3 (02:27):
He did say that, I mean he can. He came
back after the Green Bay game.
Speaker 4 (02:30):
He came back. I mean, how many times? How many
times you got to keep going to the owner at
some point time. All you can do is all he
can do. Yeah, but but he's good now, he's good
to go.
Speaker 3 (02:40):
Uh ed. How much of that is what Jack saying.
You look and you see what the other guys do.
Speaker 6 (02:45):
I think he's just healthy. I mean, I think CD
gets back as soon as possible. He said he probably
could have played last week to help.
Speaker 3 (02:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (02:54):
I mean you look at it and you're like, well,
he's coming back, but he's on the wrong side of
the ball. But maybe he can help them score another
four or five points. That makes the difference in the one.
Let's field goal.
Speaker 3 (03:04):
He's gonna say four five touchdowns.
Speaker 6 (03:07):
Five points, that's all they need.
Speaker 3 (03:08):
Yeah, I mean, this is this is what.
Speaker 6 (03:11):
Averaging thirty doesn't do it. Try, let's try thirty five.
Speaker 3 (03:14):
Thirty five should do it.
Speaker 4 (03:15):
Yeah, Philadelphia, this game here against Carolina, Yeah, I mean,
you know, four points is the difference in these games
Green Bay. You know, not kicking field I mean think
about it, the field goals, turnovers, all these kinds of
the Cowboys are doing everything you can to make yourself
a losing team by not closing the show and shooting
themselves in the foot.
Speaker 6 (03:33):
Well, the problem is they have no margin for her on.
Speaker 7 (03:35):
Off I was gonna say, nobody's one hundred fo one hundred.
In the red zone, you will occasionally have to kick
a field goal. The problem is when they kick field goals,
they lose.
Speaker 4 (03:42):
They're eleventh in red zone touchdown percentage on offense, which
is really good.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
Is not great, but it's really good.
Speaker 6 (03:47):
Better than they been I think in recent years.
Speaker 3 (03:49):
The problem is they've leved.
Speaker 4 (03:51):
They've they've when your your defense is aasked sixty five
giving up sixty two point five percent on in red
zone percentage twenty first for the league, there's no margin
twenty first.
Speaker 6 (04:01):
The last year they were dead last of that, the
only team to give up more than seventy five percent.
Speaker 3 (04:05):
Yeah, even his credit man swimming is flout. That's what
Kenny Clark can do. And Mazzi. When you activate Mazi,
you know this is what you get from.
Speaker 6 (04:13):
We didn't activate Bossy.
Speaker 3 (04:16):
On the other he said he was He did talk
about wanting to do some TV work.
Speaker 6 (04:20):
Did he probably get started on that pretty soon?
Speaker 4 (04:22):
Did he actually yes, Yes, I was talking as a
roku and asaku. First he didn't want to talk about well,
I do want to get TV. He said, yeahs I
can help you.
Speaker 6 (04:30):
I was like, you know, she said, look what I
did for Marcus Spears.
Speaker 4 (04:33):
Swago, got Swag who's trying to get the SEC job
by Bart Scott, work with Tipper Jones, Chris Mannox who's
now doing NBC cover.
Speaker 3 (04:41):
So I've worked with the people. Jacques Taylor.
Speaker 6 (04:45):
No, yeah, I don't think that requires a lot of bragging.
Speaker 3 (04:47):
You know, we were.
Speaker 6 (04:48):
I mean I worked with him too. I know you'd
me talking about it worked.
Speaker 4 (04:51):
People's dirty you know, and slides dirty work.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
He really really does. He really does, man. But Mazie did.
Speaker 4 (05:01):
Talk about hey man, maybe we'll see him on a
big ten network one day.
Speaker 3 (05:04):
You know alone, you know what you never know. You
could not have told me Troy Aikman would be what
Troyigman is in the media when he was a player.
Speaker 6 (05:15):
That's because you left after the open locker room, right
if you hung around.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
I didn't know. I didn't. So maybe you know what
TV guys would get the thing we'd roll on out. Yes,
maybe Mozzie's like that.
Speaker 7 (05:27):
You've got his great personality, full of human full of
dry humor.
Speaker 3 (05:30):
Marshal Earth, another guy wouldn't talk to the media. Next thing.
You know a lot of.
Speaker 6 (05:36):
Sharp Shannon no Sterling, Sterling sharp Sterling.
Speaker 4 (05:41):
Yeah, but you know the time times around Sterling and
South Carolina.
Speaker 3 (05:44):
He was you could see it. He had, he had
a persona about it.
Speaker 4 (05:48):
And I was doing things for Sterling, so I got
I got good Sterling.
Speaker 3 (05:53):
You know how that works. You know when it's something
for them, come on here, giving you all the great stuff.
Just don't ask him.
Speaker 5 (05:58):
You're a former player who is a miss in the media.
Just just can go yes. Daryl Johnston, my goodness, boy.
We had him over here for this East West Shrine
Bowl press conference the other day is getting inducted in
the East West Hall of Fame, and he did a
little media availability afterwards.
Speaker 2 (06:14):
Those guys rhythm. Those guys don't break.
Speaker 6 (06:18):
Good.
Speaker 4 (06:18):
Those guys off that Jimmy john Super Bowl team were great.
I remember interviewing backups like Kevin Gogan and Kenny Gamm.
Speaker 3 (06:24):
These guys were gold was ahead Nick your young. But
these guys are telling you there used to be gold
in that locker room.
Speaker 4 (06:35):
Guys didn't run out, you know, guys, guys actually stood.
Speaker 6 (06:39):
There were countable Harper he ran out.
Speaker 3 (06:43):
We were good. I've got Michael.
Speaker 6 (06:45):
That was Alvin Harper right.
Speaker 3 (06:46):
How much?
Speaker 4 (06:47):
How much heart did you even when heart did want
to talk? How much were you using when you had
Michael right there? You know, gosh, he was great. Michael
was good.
Speaker 6 (06:56):
He was so good. Wood he was good.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
Man, Pup would talk.
Speaker 8 (07:01):
You know.
Speaker 3 (07:01):
There were just a lot.
Speaker 6 (07:02):
There were just a lot, a lot of personalities.
Speaker 3 (07:04):
Why you go to back got John Geesick Ken Norton,
Ken Norton to and a was funny to talk to.
Speaker 4 (07:10):
Sorry, Nick, Sorry like this. You don't get this day
and age of just dudes. Me too, you know, God
bless TJ Bat nice guy, but you know, ain't Kevin
Gogan Man dal Hella straight.
Speaker 3 (07:21):
Long gonna launch Snapper Baby launch Snapper was good.
Speaker 6 (07:25):
Had his own show, went on The Letterman Show, snapped
the ball through a moving taxi.
Speaker 3 (07:30):
Yes it did.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
That's impressive. That is impressive.
Speaker 3 (07:34):
And they won, they won championships. Nick doing all the day.
Speaker 6 (07:37):
But people probably want to know what these guys are
saying today.
Speaker 3 (07:40):
Huh uh.
Speaker 6 (07:40):
Hey, Look see, let's let Nick summarize. He didn't talk
to anybody who really matters back in the day.
Speaker 3 (07:47):
His opportunity. Yeah, Nick telliswoks on CD today.
Speaker 5 (07:50):
Yeah, Cee, he's back, man, He's ready to He's ready
to hit the field.
Speaker 9 (07:53):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (07:54):
I think the kind of a mantra of Dak's availability was, Hey,
you're injecting CD back into an off so it's already
number one in the NFL.
Speaker 2 (08:01):
How much better can it get?
Speaker 5 (08:02):
And I think there's there's a lot of excitement around
what Ceed's gonna be able to bring back because it
opens up the entire receiving corps, not only CD, but
George Pickens, Cavante Turp and Jake Ferguson.
Speaker 2 (08:12):
Allows them to do multiple things. But CD is just eager.
Speaker 5 (08:15):
It was weird for him to watch those games over
the course of the last couple of weeks, whether it
was him on the sideline or him at home. He said,
it was really tough and it was funny. When George
Pickens had his hurdle a couple of weeks or last
week against Carolina, he texted him right after it Happened's like,
I knew he wasn't gonna get it right then, he
was gonna have to reply later, but I had to
text him right there.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
I think that kind of shows our friendship, though.
Speaker 5 (08:34):
I think that's unique we asked Dak and CD about
you know what they would say to Jerry Jones if
you know it was brought to them, if they wanted
to keep George Pickens around, And obviously both of them
are very much in favor of that, and as.
Speaker 2 (08:46):
They should be.
Speaker 5 (08:47):
It helps both of their games out overall. Even though
you know, you go back to that twenty twenty three
season that Ceedee Lamb had the seventeen hundred plus yards,
the one hundred and twenty four receptions, He's not going to.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
Get that with George Pickens around ever again. But I
think it understood.
Speaker 5 (08:58):
He can understand that it's going to help his overall
game and make him a better pound for pound receiver
based on what his stats will be at the end
of the season, based on you know, winning, and sadly
they're not doing much of that.
Speaker 2 (09:11):
And sadly they're not. Sadly they're not.
Speaker 3 (09:12):
It's not so much.
Speaker 4 (09:13):
Honestly, how can we measure George Pickens adding wins when
this defense.
Speaker 3 (09:17):
Is just so bad.
Speaker 4 (09:19):
I would look at it this way, could see the
Lamb be the difference in four points and then from
a defensive standpoint, Carolina rocking their safety up and you know,
being able to stop the run game that that that's
a different, different kind of defensive alignment that you gotta see.
Speaker 6 (09:35):
Well beyond the can they score more points and win
more games if he's part of the offense, the other
part of it is can they get a lead again
like they played you know under Mike McCarthy in twenty
twenty three, twenty twenty two, where they had these big
leads and their opponents for the most part, became one dimensional.
That would help the defense if they didn't have to
try to defend both the pass and the run, although
(09:57):
we've seen instances where they're capable of defending neither. A
lot of examples of that. I mean, what Caleb Williams
had a career game where go doubt well at a
career game. Russell Wilson at a career game.
Speaker 4 (10:07):
I was just going to say, you know, even if
you you know, against the Giants, the Cowboys are out here,
you know, going down the field, but they couldn't get
to Russell you know, back then, back back.
Speaker 3 (10:15):
Back in back then. Remember yeah, back in the day,
right back in the day.
Speaker 4 (10:18):
If somebody got to yoa you know you you were,
you were here that you're old enough to remember that
you were there. Even though Jerry said that's probably the
deepest part of the team's.
Speaker 6 (10:29):
Pass rushers, he wishes it was he thought it was
before they traded Micah, but it has not proven to
be that at all.
Speaker 3 (10:36):
Yeah, I mean, you got to get a milk cart
and for Marshaun.
Speaker 6 (10:39):
Go down the stat list and see how long it
takes you to get to a front seven or a
defensive lineman on tackles. Yeah, like, I bet it's tenth
or deeper before you get to one.
Speaker 3 (10:51):
I'll check it.
Speaker 6 (10:52):
How about the most amazing stat I think on defense
as bad as the defensive spend that two guys who
led the NFL and interceptions under Dan Win, Trayvon Diggs
and Theron Bland not only don't have an interception, they
haven't gotten their hands on a ball in six weeks.
Speaker 3 (11:08):
Well, well, it's fairness.
Speaker 6 (11:09):
There was an interception negated by a penalty.
Speaker 4 (11:11):
Thank you, don't thank you, but he was there. Well,
make give him some credit.
Speaker 5 (11:15):
Zero ball productions literally zero. That's that's impressive.
Speaker 4 (11:20):
It's not because they're not playing, man, dude, they were
at practice today and you know you tweeted out there
working on some man concepts. So starting to listen to Trayvon.
Speaker 6 (11:31):
I'm not sure that's a great idea, y'all did not
hear me? Laugh? Wasn't? It wasn't. How did you take
Steven's remarks this week about he's alarmed that they're not
playing championship football and that there might need to be
some give and take here between the players and the coordinator.
Speaker 7 (11:50):
Not that it was clear that he was telling you, dog,
you got to you got to get them to buy
in by giving them some of the stuff that they
want to do, which which I mean it is of
common sense to me. Really, Like the best coaches you've
ever heard say, what, we build.
Speaker 3 (12:06):
A scheme around the players that we get. I don't
want to do this, but I don't have much.
Speaker 6 (12:09):
But they hired me in my scheme and they knew
the players they had. How does this not work?
Speaker 3 (12:14):
So ed? How about this? This is one thing I'm
just want we talk about just how line as she
went used when I was de rate. It's interesting on
who we choose to forgive and who we choose you
can them. When this defense was playing like this under
Mike Nolan, everybody was unknown.
Speaker 4 (12:29):
He's not good. Scheme's not fitting, make it fit the players.
So everybody jumped on. But because the owners like I
couldn't wait to hire Matt Ebraflues, this is my guy.
We love him and shot he's like, he's a great guy,
They're they're not giving him the same heat.
Speaker 6 (12:44):
Right because Jerry doesn't want Jerry has a personal investment
in this higher.
Speaker 4 (12:47):
And the players all basically saying the same thing about
know they weren't brought in tank on, the guys were
not bought in the know and right now we're seeing
guys aren't released.
Speaker 3 (12:54):
Some guys aren't bought in the eber Flues. But he's
getting a pass. I feel like anyway, he was unanimous
get rid of Micah. So that hey, that what we
were told. It was unanimous trade Micah.
Speaker 6 (13:09):
And don't you get some benefit of the doubt for that,
for being told all off season play plan for this
incredible pass rusher, generational rusher, most versatile player in the league. Oh,
we traded him. So but just we want to play
run defense. Guess what they don't do that either.
Speaker 5 (13:23):
Pressure packages certainly were built around Michael Parsons in.
Speaker 7 (13:28):
I was told they were going to scheme pressure once
they traded Micah, all right, that what we were told.
Speaker 3 (13:34):
I'm waiting for the schemes.
Speaker 5 (13:35):
They ran the plus four times against the Panthers and
in defensive matt Eberflus, I go back to what I
said about dan Quinn when they brought in dan Quinn.
Speaker 3 (13:44):
Give the guy, give the carpenter the tools he needs.
So they went on and trade away his hammer. His
hammer was he was he parted int hey, it is
what it is. But but I would just say, if
we're going to start to if you're going to bring
Ebraflus back, looks like if you're in, if you're all in,
if you want to be fair to him, go out
and get some guys that run the scheme, and then
you say, who doesn't believe, who doesn't want to be here,
(14:06):
You get rid of them and give him the opportunity there.
So that's the other part of them.
Speaker 6 (14:10):
The turnover at that position has been alarming and part
of the problem.
Speaker 4 (14:14):
And they keep hiring dudes who won't do what the
last guy did. And like with Zimmer, Zimmer wins with
big people. There were no big people here, so Zim
was sitting here.
Speaker 6 (14:21):
Well, why do they make that choice? Jerry, I said,
why do they make that choice?
Speaker 3 (14:25):
Oh hey, look, Junior, should we.
Speaker 6 (14:26):
Know the guy. We're familiar with the guy, we have
a relationship with the guy.
Speaker 4 (14:30):
But Joe Witt, they knew him, and I guess maybe
because he didn't call plays for him per se. I
don't know. I don't know, but it just shake. That
makes me shake my ahead. By the way, I got
your defensive status here. You want tackles? Right, tackles one
Kenneth Murray with forty seven, two, Donovan Wilson with forty three,
Jack sam One with thirty eight, then his Shamar, James Ready.
Speaker 3 (14:49):
Stewart, Kerr, Elam, Malik Hooker.
Speaker 4 (14:52):
Trayvon Diggs, Ron Blayder's ninth, olso Odiggy Zua is tenth
eighteen total tackles. Then jan Ye Toomas, this is eleven,
number twelve. Let's get to an edge, Solomon Thomas.
Speaker 3 (15:03):
Number thirteen. Looking for an edge is Donovan as a
rock who with.
Speaker 6 (15:07):
Sixteen rookie who doesn't even play all that much.
Speaker 3 (15:10):
Marshawn Lynch is sixteenth.
Speaker 4 (15:12):
Marshawn Lynch twelve You mean Kneeland, I mean Nyland, Yes,
Marshawn Lynch, Yeah, yeah, he might be better.
Speaker 3 (15:19):
He might get Yeah, he might get to the quarterback. Yeah, man,
Jdevian Clowne just got here.
Speaker 6 (15:25):
That just tells you how ineffective that front is not.
Speaker 3 (15:28):
Clown Dante Fowler and Jadevian Clannie your tie with six
total tacks.
Speaker 6 (15:34):
Well, Reddy Stewart's slot corner who wasn't even here when
the season began, and he's what the top five. Guess
who's last? Milesey Smith.
Speaker 2 (15:42):
Yes, there was a there was.
Speaker 3 (15:45):
A game not credited with a tackle. He's a credit
with an assist to assist.
Speaker 5 (15:48):
So if you go back to the box scorer week
two against the Giants, Ceedee Lamb, Hunter, Lucky and Brevin
span Ford had more combined tackles in the entire bedroom. Wow,
isn't that wild? Isn't that just bonkers?
Speaker 3 (16:02):
Man, we go take a break.
Speaker 5 (16:05):
You need more for your defensive ends, man, not only
in past rush, you needed in the run game the Cowboys.
Speaker 4 (16:12):
So Jerry did talk about he's willing to move a
draft pick for what man, And let's talk about that
next on the media match on Dallas Cowboys dot com.

Speaker 3 (19:32):

Speaker 5 (19:33):
Yeah, that's not the only one for the Commanders. Deebo
Samuel did not practice today with the heel injury. Second

Jackson their defensive end if they just acquired they put
him on ir So's He's gone for the next four games.
Dorrin's Armstrong did not practice once again today. Or sack
leader exactly. And Chris Rodriguez, one of their depth running
backs again did not practice today. So yeah, not looking
(19:55):
good for the commanders. On the Cowboys side. The only
guy who did not practice backup offensive lineman ever Keegan
dealing with the neck issue.
Speaker 2 (20:02):
Other than that, everyone practiced.
Speaker 3 (20:04):
You're saying there's a chance, yeah.
Speaker 2 (20:06):
Something like that, something like my.
Speaker 3 (20:09):
Be able to hold at twenty eight.
Speaker 6 (20:11):
Jayden Daniels on the Reid option.
Speaker 3 (20:15):
You know twenty eight thirty one. You know Brandon Aubrey
wins it.
Speaker 6 (20:19):
You know, Cowboys are underdogs in this game at home
with DAK and the highest in the number one.
Speaker 7 (20:24):
On everybody's vegas is seeing that defense man after the
Panthers game until they do something on defense.
Speaker 3 (20:31):
I mean, think about it.
Speaker 4 (20:32):
Guys sat there and told you to buckle up, then
double down on it. Said they know, first carry nine yards,
next time it gets to twelve yards, sets a career
high Panther record two thirty nine. Why would you.
Speaker 6 (20:48):
Say a NFL record for most yards gained by a
player against his former team for the first time. I mean,
what he could not have dreamed that when he said
buckle up.
Speaker 3 (20:57):
No one thing was low how going to didn't he
was thinking a hone yard.
Speaker 6 (20:59):
Yeah, I think if I get a hundred on these guys,
I'm gonna be happy.
Speaker 3 (21:02):
I'm going to Disneyland. Actually I'm going to Carol Wins
right thunder Road. But yeah, we're cursed. Pride, I mean,
that's what I'm looking for this week.
Speaker 7 (21:13):
I'm looking for personal pride this week, well personal pride at.
Speaker 6 (21:16):
Least because they're lacking home against a division rival.
Speaker 4 (21:20):
Your parents watch the game. I mean, you don't want
to see the heavy girl and your parents, your wife,
your fans watch you get beat up like that.
Speaker 3 (21:27):
Ain't nobody slying to you?
Speaker 7 (21:28):
Your d MS if you if you play like that,
no defense anyway.
Speaker 3 (21:31):
I mean, this is they. I mean they have to respond,
don't they.
Speaker 6 (21:35):
You didn't last week? How can you ever trust that
they will?
Speaker 5 (21:38):
That's that's how I feel about it. If someone's calling
you out publicly.
Speaker 6 (21:41):
Average running back is calling you out.
Speaker 3 (21:44):
But they didn't respect the average running But they didn't.
Even the owner didn't shot it was making fun of it.
Speaker 6 (21:50):
If he's capable of that, and you spent five years
on your roster, he should still be here. If that's
what he can do in this league against a good team,
he should still be here.
Speaker 3 (21:59):
Shot. He said that fell in love with Javonte.
Speaker 6 (22:01):
Though that's fine. He was playing great, he was, but
there you go. But it's amazing, right the canal Is
still has not committed to him being the starting running back.
He said four hundred and some yards.
Speaker 7 (22:12):
Because two weeks, because he played the Dolphins and he
played the Cowboys.
Speaker 3 (22:17):
They pay this. This is true.
Speaker 6 (22:21):
They're playing the Jets this week, right.
Speaker 7 (22:22):
See, and that's why he didn't committed. He's like, damn
if he put up another hunting feet Jets.
Speaker 5 (22:26):
I'll never get it around Murderer's row of run defenses.
The Dolphins, Cowboys, and I.
Speaker 3 (22:31):
Don't mess around the Pro Bowl. The Pro Bowl.
Speaker 6 (22:36):
But the only signed of one year deal. Maybe he'll
bring him back.
Speaker 3 (22:40):
They have the option. They will, They will have the option.
Speaker 6 (22:45):
I'm not saying they made a mistake, but they made
a mistake not responding to his challenge and not taking
personally and not taking it seriously.
Speaker 3 (22:51):
And so maybe this week and they decide that stand
up at home.
Speaker 6 (22:57):
Is that all it takes?
Speaker 4 (22:58):
I would at this point time, So I'd hope so
ed like, you know, just to play as well.
Speaker 2 (23:06):
As you can play well, nobody's getting benched.
Speaker 6 (23:08):
We hear about accountability all the time and meritocracy, compete
and beating every day, nothing ever changes. What have we
seen on defense? What's changed?
Speaker 3 (23:20):
They keep bouncing between Jay Toy and Mizi Smith.
Speaker 2 (23:23):
I mean you know it's technically changing.
Speaker 7 (23:26):
Yeah, change, I mean yeah, And she had blocked out
the screen by what I receive what I mean, he
wouldn't play for me this week, just like you're going.
Speaker 3 (23:36):
I mean, really, where are you going? If you're making change?
What are you changing?
Speaker 4 (23:41):
It's like that time when they got mad at Chaz
Green and changed and put in Byron Bell and then
you're still giving up sax to me, what are you doing?
Speaker 3 (23:47):
I mean you're you're you are scraping the bottom here.
Speaker 6 (23:51):
Where they're going ed, somebody's gotta go? Who and who's
curving Richard's on the defense.
Speaker 3 (23:58):
Or or as part of who you bring one. It
ain't anybody, It ain't one hundred dollars.
Speaker 6 (24:03):
You can change them all out, it won't matter.
Speaker 3 (24:05):
It might.
Speaker 6 (24:06):
It's getting worse telling me this is all we got?
Speaker 7 (24:10):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, pretty much, yeah, pretty much.
Speaker 6 (24:16):
It's you're telling me Leah foul can't give you something
more than you're getting out of the guys playing in
front of him.
Speaker 3 (24:21):
So you want to do it.
Speaker 6 (24:22):
Let's ask Nick that question.
Speaker 5 (24:23):
Has leof Hal somehow regressed in his instincts? That's that's
been the that's been the bigger one for me. As
far as guys you relied upon coming into the year,
you expected leaf I to take a step forward. He
has not giving you that his instincts of somehow taking
a step back. That tells me that they are not
comfortable in this scheme whatsoever.
Speaker 2 (24:39):
Because you have a.
Speaker 5 (24:39):
Young player who going back to his time at Notre
Dame and during his time at Punahoa High School and
Hawaii instincts, that's that has what has translated to him
from level to level. And somehow one of your more
instinctual players is not showing.
Speaker 6 (24:50):
Didn't need Zimmer even say he's this guy is going
to be a great middle linebacker.
Speaker 7 (24:54):
Well at this level, can't get the scheme, don't know.
You know, when you're thinking, you're not winning.
Speaker 4 (24:59):
And so Trayvon Diggs talked about thinking, said a lot
of guys are thinking. And now so when Trey Bon
says something, some people are just so mad at they
just want to discout it.
Speaker 3 (25:06):
But that was one thing he's talked about.
Speaker 4 (25:07):
The guys just thinking and when you're playing football and
you're playing deef and you're thinking, was this my party?
It's a problem. It's it's a problem. And I know
you're not buying it. I know you're buying team flues
over here, but I mean.
Speaker 6 (25:21):
I just think it's absurd. It's absurd that you hire
a guide who's better defensive coordinator, who's been in your system.
He's been here for seven years, and what.
Speaker 3 (25:30):
They win in seven years ed that damn thing that
was worthy?
Speaker 6 (25:34):
Well, then why do you hire him?
Speaker 3 (25:35):
That's what I like. Okay, fine, I'd like to know
because they were like, oh man, this guy's good. I mean,
last time we saw him getting worked on TV, couldn't
even get a dude lined up to go on the
last plagua is Washington to go.
Speaker 6 (25:45):
I mean, oh, that was his fault. The guy who's
eighty yards away is turning and sweat waving to the fans,
and you're blaming Eberflus for that.
Speaker 3 (25:52):
Either your coaching or you're letting it happen.
Speaker 6 (25:54):
He only let it happen when you let the guy
stay on a team. The next week.
Speaker 3 (25:57):
Then Thanksgiving Day happened. I mean it wasn't could I
I'm sorry I I didn't when they hired him, Like.
Speaker 6 (26:04):
Okay, well, these says we're no good last year either, correct.
Speaker 3 (26:08):
Yes, but they were.
Speaker 4 (26:10):
They were as bad as they weren't this bad, though
they got worse.
Speaker 6 (26:13):
We're thirty first of the NFL and points allowed last year.
Speaker 5 (26:16):
I'm not the Wimbledon right now. It's like Alcaraz and Center.
Speaker 3 (26:19):
I'm just I have questions about the guy.
Speaker 6 (26:23):
They my my thing is my only thing is I'm
not saying he's good, he's bad. I'm just saying, how
does this happen?
Speaker 3 (26:30):
But then you knew the guy, but they said he
how does it happened? Because they playing favors.
Speaker 4 (26:34):
It's like Mike McCarthy brings in Nolan, ohs my boy here.
We want to bring in people we like. It's not
show friends to show business. And right now you brought
in a guy and when he left Chicago, everybody bears
Fans called me laughing, Oh y'all, hi, this dude, Oh god,
I can't wait. And you know what I now, I
duck the calls, not just ducking calls. Bear fan called
me at the Monday and I just duck it. After
(26:55):
the Carolina game, I ducking calls. Then then they're bears ones.
I see we beat Washington. Then this time he's I
just ducking calls lefting right. They said Jerry's on the
radio on Tuesday. I want him in Fox hold me
because he been bloody.
Speaker 3 (27:09):
But bloody got beat the hell up? What he's been
good before? Where what did they do with Indianapolis?
Speaker 6 (27:14):
He had good defenses in Indiana?
Speaker 3 (27:16):
But they win They wing thing. That's all the things
that we're winning anything.
Speaker 6 (27:20):
Now, And it's not because they don't have a good offense.
Speaker 3 (27:22):
But they just keep making it sound like this this
wee this ain't Dave wants that he puts Davis.
Speaker 7 (27:28):
So you really you're really mad at the at the
front office. Not e e flus is just the projection
of your anger. Well, yeah, they got sold on this, dude.
They're trying to sell me.
Speaker 3 (27:36):
I'm not buying it. I'm not buying it. What do
you mean they got sold them? They didn't get sold them.
They went picked him. Well that's right, but they sold
that they Okay, I'm not buying what their selling.
Speaker 7 (27:44):
You mad at even flus at the front office.
Speaker 5 (27:47):
Both okay, what about the what about the players on defense?
Speaker 3 (27:51):
Them too? Where are you ranking it? You get it?
Who you got that Jerry at the top? All right?
So so at the top of your younger is yeah.
Speaker 6 (28:00):
To be a host opening over here, suit.
Speaker 4 (28:02):
I go back to what Doug Collins told me that
he got from Chuck Daily. He said, your job as
a coach is to cover up the warts. You know
what your players are, you know what they can. You
got to cover up the warts. These warts is exposed
each week, and it's more puss coming out.
Speaker 3 (28:19):
Ain't nothing working man.
Speaker 6 (28:20):
So rank the order, yes, front office.
Speaker 3 (28:24):
Front office, front office, defensive course in front office, the
front office, then players, front office. Going back to not
getting Michael when you could have got this dude at thirty.
So the front office.
Speaker 4 (28:34):
Then the coach that they brought in wasn't sold on
him and said what did he win? And one thing significance,
And then the players. Some of these guys look decent
under Dan Quinn. Some of these guys were pro bowlers.
Some of these guys were all pro Now that he
looked like boo boo. You talk to some of these
(28:55):
guys and I know some of the guys who were
talking you want to hear from, but you know what
they were what so now they're nothing nothing.
Speaker 5 (29:03):
A couple of these guys have been nothing though, which
I would agree with. You would put front office number
one there. Oh, I mean these are the ones that
built it. And Mazie, we told you, oh he gonna
be this and no he ain't done nothing. N' ten
not team nothing.

David, let's should go, well, there, it looks yummy.
Speaker 3 (31:57):
You know ed what you never.
Speaker 6 (32:00):
Possibly threaten you with on offense?
Speaker 3 (32:02):
Never know, never know. That's the thing, man, That's one
thing about this league.
Speaker 6 (32:06):
Look at the list of quarterbacks they still have to play.
Speaker 3 (32:09):
I know it's not pretty. It's not pretty.
Speaker 4 (32:12):
And this weekend they've got Jade Daniels coming here, So
if Terry McLain's not playing, that might might be a
little bit of help.
Speaker 3 (32:19):
I mean, it's it's.
Speaker 6 (32:22):
But they got beat by Rico Dowdell and Bryce Young.
Speaker 4 (32:25):
Iber Flu said, what did you say today? They're everything
on the table. Everything's on the table.
Speaker 2 (32:32):
He's getting looked at.
Speaker 3 (32:33):
Everything's yeah.
Speaker 6 (32:34):
He's even open to things he's not necessarily comfortable doing.
Speaker 3 (32:38):
Yeah, because he's had his nose bloodied and fight and
Commanders are tied for first and total rushing yards coming
into this week.
Speaker 6 (32:45):
Running and got the best dual threat quarterback in football.
Speaker 3 (32:49):
I go six.
Speaker 5 (32:51):
Dude's just you know what's funny about this team because
because of the way the offense is playing, you can't
ever really count them out of any game, truthfully. But
the way the defense is can't playing. You also can't
count a win for any team in this league against them.
It's it's the most difficult team to project every week
because it is.
Speaker 2 (33:11):
Fourteen.
Speaker 4 (33:13):
Bring back, just put just put up a picture Mike
Leach out and just you know, God bless his soul. Man,
love me some Mike Leach. But that's about what shot
he's got to do right now. Call your plays, do
what you can and get well. When Mahomes was out
there playing out there tech, you know, for Cliff, I
means this is what we got here. I mean defense,
dead last yards per game, dead last passing yards per game,
(33:36):
dead last third down percentage, second to last points per game.
Speaker 6 (33:41):
Aloud, what about rushing defense? What about sacks?
Speaker 2 (33:43):
Rushing defense thirty one now right.
Speaker 4 (33:45):
No, twenty nine give him credit gaining momentu acts like
twenty third or twenty twenty two EDG tied for twenty two.
Speaker 2 (33:52):
Is past defense thirty fifth, No past the.
Speaker 3 (33:56):
Deadline thirty five.
Speaker 6 (33:58):
Passing touchdowns Colle Ohio State's better.
Speaker 2 (34:01):
Than Marshall's playing really good this year.
Speaker 3 (34:03):
On the deep passing touchdowns, passing touchdowns. They didn't have
that on him. But none of it's good.
Speaker 4 (34:10):
The third down percentage is really that's that's the killer
right there.
Speaker 6 (34:13):
And red zone, as you said, fifty three point take
away four takeaways.
Speaker 3 (34:18):
They got them Inny. Yeah.
Speaker 6 (34:21):
Well, Donovan Wilson has two tied for twenty six and
Houston has one.
Speaker 3 (34:25):
Wilson has all their interceptions TIPE for twenty tuesday.
Speaker 6 (34:28):
And they say they can't play pass coverage, but.
Speaker 3 (34:30):
You know what man, we say all this, watch them win.
Speaker 6 (34:36):
Well, they could because the offense.
Speaker 5 (34:37):
So you could tell me that this team beats the
Buffalo Bills tomorrow wouldn't surprise me. And you can also
tell me they lose to the New York Jets and
it would not surprise me.
Speaker 3 (34:43):
It's the Bills.
Speaker 6 (34:44):
What's amazing is what they've done on offense without Ceede Lamb.
Now they haven't really won without him. They won one
game without him, but the way they performed on offense
without him, with no short fields all year long, they've
had what one short field touchdown the whole year. They've
got the ball on the other side of the fifty
inside the twenty once the Houston fumble recovery against the Packers,
(35:06):
it's it.
Speaker 5 (35:06):
What about the Wilson interception Did I get inside the
twenty against the I'm not.
Speaker 2 (35:11):
Sure if it did or not.
Speaker 3 (35:12):
And Turpin, you get Turping back in the mix. So
so you have you have a roster of receivers.
Speaker 4 (35:17):
And so if you can get some of the offensive
lineman back, uh Tyler Booker expected back.
Speaker 3 (35:21):
But having you know, having Turpin back umbecial.
Speaker 6 (35:26):
Teams, now you can win two out of three phases.
Speaker 4 (35:28):
And and said, like Carolina bringing the safety down to
go ahead, try and stop the run. You can't do
that with these guys here, So maybe they could take
advantage and said, if the difference is four points, if
it's one less field goal, if you can kick one
less field goal with the way they're scoring here, then
you could beat Philly, you could beat the Packers. You
could And I say all this, but this is what
losing teams do. Losing teams five ways to lose. But
(35:50):
it's potentially out there and hopefully, as you said, Jack,
it's about some personal pride.
Speaker 3 (35:55):
This week, you're at home going a game.
Speaker 6 (35:57):
Well, look what happened in the division last week. The
Giants the worst in the only one who went and
they beat the defending Super Bowl Chance.
Speaker 3 (36:03):
And I was about to say that same thing of.
Speaker 7 (36:05):
You know what, there's no great team in the NFC. No,
there's some good teams, but there's no great team. And
there's no.
Speaker 3 (36:12):
Team and it says, oh wow, we can't beat them.
Speaker 4 (36:14):
And the Commanders are three and three, and you started
looking at the teams and beat them and she's like,
they're not.
Speaker 3 (36:18):
This is no juggernaut for this. Imagine what happens if
you do wind as they're three and.
Speaker 4 (36:22):
Four, stop shooting yourself in the foot, especially in the
red zone. You know, if they stopped doing some of
those things, killing their own drives. But that's the other problems.
Like offensively, they can't keep having pre snat pills. You're
not good enough to do that. They've got. The offense
has got to be on point. They've gotten to be.
Speaker 6 (36:36):
The offense has to be perfect perfect. Yeah, they had
one barred series and a costume a game well one,
three and out at the end of the game. Costume again, it.
Speaker 4 (36:47):
Did went backwards. But my gosh, hence when they get
the ball with six oh seven ago.
Speaker 6 (36:51):
I mean, when's the fifteen plays.
Speaker 3 (36:52):
When's the last time you witness that?
Speaker 6 (36:54):
I mean, Nick, we're sitting there like buffalo.
Speaker 4 (36:58):
You're you're about to they're about to. Yeah, you're right,
they're about to run the game out. It was, and
Dak said, africt, we thought we'd get the ball back,
shot and we get ball back.
Speaker 6 (37:09):
When you get to the point where you're winning formulas,
let him score a touchdown and maybe Dac and drive
the length of field tie it, and hey, we're good
in overtime.
Speaker 4 (37:17):
And Bryce youone wasn't good in the game. He wasn't
he wasn't a difference man.
Speaker 5 (37:21):
And I was just shout out to the Cowboys defense though,
because I made my eight thirty flight and I wouldn't
have made it if they went to overtime. I was
I was getting I was getting worried. I know, I know, man,
that was a rookie mistake.
Speaker 6 (37:33):
But it worked out.
Speaker 3 (37:34):
Say, why are you flying the data game? Man?
Speaker 2 (37:35):
Worked out?
Speaker 5 (37:36):
Now I'll fly out the day of the game. I
don't have a problem with that.
Speaker 3 (37:38):
No, why are you flying back to day?
Speaker 5 (37:39):
And that's what I mean. I'd rather sleep in my
own bed.
Speaker 2 (37:41):
You give me an up. I should have done the
ten thirty.
Speaker 3 (37:44):
That back the last flight. Thank you.
Speaker 6 (37:47):
Right to stand by for the earlier flight should make it.
You don't put that pressure on yourself to write the
great game story when the clock is ticking.
Speaker 3 (37:57):
I was able to remind me to tell you, I
don't know.
Speaker 6 (37:59):
I don't think that story it was your best work. Actually,
it's smacked of a guy who didn't spend enough time
on it.
Speaker 3 (38:05):
And it happened in Carolina. Nix Young, Nix Young.
Speaker 6 (38:09):
Too bad And you learn well, you did write a
good story today.
Speaker 2 (38:14):
Thanks sir.
Speaker 6 (38:14):
Did you see it? No, yeah, he kind of stole.
He stole an idea.
Speaker 5 (38:19):
I had spoke to Dan Quinn about playing Brian Schottenheimer
and the friendship that they old twenty twenty two, and
uh yeah.
Speaker 6 (38:27):
Shoty defensive to help the defense.
Speaker 2 (38:30):
Correct Quinn shout out to d Q.
Speaker 6 (38:32):
That's it. That's all you want to say about that.
Speaker 5 (38:34):
Yeah, go read it, Fourward Star Telegram. That's there exclusive
