Speaker 1 (00:10):
The following. He is a production of Dallas Cowboys dot
Com and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Cowboys.

Speaker 1 (00:19):
This is Mediamash, a roundtable of Cowboys insiders, trumping wisdom
and offering sizzling tape on the current state of your
Dallas Cowboys. Now your host, Newie Scrugs Media Mash time

(00:41):
right here from the Stard Frisco, Texas home of the
Dallas Cowboys and Newi Scruggs, joined by former Cowboys beat
writer and the author he is Jean Jacques Taylor working
on a big time book. And we've got fort Worth
Star telegrams own Nick Harris. We've just left the locker
room George Pickens to us. Yes, George Pickens's all smiles here.
And I did ask him what is most important to

(01:04):
you when you think about trying to get your next contract?
Is it the quarterback? Is it money? Is it winning?
What moves you?

Speaker 2 (01:11):
It's a good question, That is a good question, Scruggs.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
And he said winning, said I won in high school,
won at Georgia. So he gone. And that's why I
asked about the quarterback, considering what happened to him in
Pittsburgh and what has happened here.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
So far, and the receiver is the most dependent position
on the quarterback.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
And I would look at if I were him, I
would say, look at a case study of Tyreek Hill,
Tyreek Hill in Kansas City with Patrick Mahomes, Tyreek Hill
in Miami. Tyreek Hill has his money. But I would argue,
had he stayed with Patrick Mahomes, the opportunity to build

(01:56):
a case for a potential discussion in the Hall of Fame,
more numbers and rings would have been available for him.
I'm not gonna fault any player who wants to get paid.
I was gonna say, Man, I'm not gonna fault them.
And you go from day first, okay, but you gave
up something too. It's the gift and the curse. Maybe

(02:18):
and this I'm not sure. Maybe you weren't gonna get
what you got in Miami. But if you could have
got enough and still got rings and still building towards
something Hall of Famish, that to me, that that, to me,
a situation like that matters. And no, by the way,
the quarterback, that's a special quarterback that you're playing with
in Miami. It's it's it's to a time hadn't been

(02:41):
so good.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
Yeah, that's that's always a very interesting question because he
wasn't a first round pick, so he hadn't had the
big payday yet, and you know, you got it. You
want to secure your long term generational future first. Now,
I think you make the other good point, which is

(03:04):
somebody offers you thirty one million a year and somebody
else is offered you twenty eight million a year. Is
it really that much difference? And you go, well, yeah,
over four years, that's twelve or thirteen.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
Yeah, yeah, absolutely.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
I mean it isn't just that portion. For me, I
always think about said when you're on it, when you're
winning championships and you're building. I mean, for instance, Zeke Kelly,
his first three years, she was building a Hall of
Fame type resume. He had these kind of numbers, and
then of course he came to the issues off the
field was kind of setting back. But when you come
out and you're starting to build something pretty good. I

(03:36):
mean even Michael Parsons right now, when he started to
build and he's great man, that's something if you can
try to keep stacking, I think that's something to think about.
That's something if I were an age and I talk Hey, manet,
I want to get you paid. I want to get
you paid, But can you get paid maybe not the
top dollar, but still be trying to make sure that
one day they talk about you as a legend of
the game and one of the best. I think that's

(03:56):
a conversation where it's having if you have that type
of billy not saying that George Pickens is, but just
charting to ask the questions about, Hey, when you're thinking
about leaving, what are you leaving for it? If it's
just the money, the's plenty of dudes who getting paid
and get a lot of money ain't happy no more.
This is true, But you.

Speaker 3 (04:12):
Try, you try to buy that happiness. You know, OJ
played on the team that never won. OJ also is
he got the legend. I mean he was a legend.
He was all faming they never won.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
He played football. Yeah, you know.

Speaker 3 (04:25):
I mean there was nine to five when year In
lost thirty two fourteen to the Pittsburgh Steels and I
went out at halftime and played in the snow.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
So so I kind of go back to Eric Dickerson.
Now there's there's a good one. So Eric was killing it.
Eric Dickerson was killing it with the Rams killing it,
put two feet up in the playoffs and gop boy.
He was playing for John Robinson who was run run.
He was run, we running. He came from you as
we run it. Give it to Eric, Eric left, Eric right,

(04:54):
Eric got frustrated, got mad, wanted his money, went with
the Colts. His old coach SMU was nothing, nothing, never to.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
Say, seay Texas great.

Speaker 3 (05:01):
And then again there's Marshall Fault who took the money,
went to the Rams, won Super Bowls and was probably
the greatest show on turf.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
And so but he was in that position of where
the coachs were like, we got Peyton Manning, We're paying
this guy. We're paying him, We're gonna build it all
around you. Or Bill pull in copt and say, you
know what, I'm gonna let you go because I got
somebody I want. And it's not even Ricky Williams shocked
the world. I want Edwin James from Miami. So I mean,
I look at that in terms of just you know,

(05:28):
you know.

Speaker 3 (05:28):
I'm really just having this conversation because I think about
all times in terms of just my own career, I
could have made more money elsewhere. But certain things appealed
to me more than money. Lifestyle schedule. Like I once
had an opportunity to go to Minnesota, and I was
just like, I don't want to, you know, cover the

(05:51):
Vikings as a right, that's cool. I ain't trying to
be that cool, you know what I mean? Like, lifestyle
mattered to me, and I was like, I don't want to.
I don't want to dress warm most of the year.
I want to chill out. And so you know, it's
it's all about what matters to you.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
That's why.

Speaker 3 (06:07):
Unless you know, unless you truly know, even when we
were talking about Kurk Signetti and whoever Penn State hires,
a lot of that is more than just money. It's
about all the other stuff that goes into into your lifestyle.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
Right, And I said, I so understand the National Football
League is truly not for long. We're talking about guys,
and I'm not begrudging anyone get money, but boy, you
start playing for some teams here and you're getting some
winning done because this teammate won though though, and yes
you're correct, but I go back to this for him,

(06:42):
you got a quarterback now, a quarterback he I ain't
gonna be the first option here. Look at me like that.

Speaker 3 (06:49):
You might want to be the man, or you might
find out that life is Alvin Harper was better.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
I'll say this but.

Speaker 3 (06:56):
Right now, but you're not gonna convince that man to
that when the number one been out and he'd have
been put up the numbers he put up.

Speaker 1 (07:02):
We talked about this on got into a nice argument
on the players Lambe last show. Yes, well, we've got
an art buried in one here because I said, this
year Pickets has been a better player than CD Lamb.
And when ced Lamb comes back this week, George Pickets
may get a couple more targets than the CD because

(07:24):
right now he's been this year been the better player.
I go back to that Philly game. I can't get
that Philly game out of my mind. Yeah, I cannot
the four drops because then it reminded me to like
the Green Bay game, the playoff game? Where were you?
So CD need to restake his claim as that dude.
Is that what you're saying, Hey man, if there's a
jump ball right now, who hey, I need it's third

(07:46):
and it's third and eighteen, I'm gonna just throw it
up here. We go throw it up the cdo throw
up George Pickens, right.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
I'll say the stats and how they look at the
end of the year. It's going to be a very
interesting conversation when it comes to getting that contract done
because he's making the thirty four million a year. Is
that come the ceiling or is up come the floor
for George Pickens? And I think the stats to share
are really going to reflect what that looks like.

Speaker 1 (08:05):
Yes, with the agent, it's can be very and so
then with Jerrying Company, is it a franchise? At mean,
what do you do? But what's my name? I David?
What's my name? Is David? Say name the same my name?

Speaker 2 (08:21):
But I mean, hey, David got two first round picks
David straight and so.

Speaker 1 (08:27):
So I kind of come back. This is one of
those where be very interesting behind the scenes of what
the quarterback has to say about Pickens, where his relationship is,
and where they're seeing some I asked George Pickens at
the today at the press conference, are you at that
point in time where you and Dak had that chemistry
and just kind of look at each other like like

(08:47):
where's the growth things? We're getting close, he says, they're
getting close to where they hey man were looking at
each other doing well. I mean, right now, look at Pickens.
He's called a touchdown passing five consecutive games. We're talking
about him ranked third in the NFL with five hundred
and twenty five receiving yards. Most by a cowboy through
the first six games of the season is Terry Glenn
back in two thousand and five, and he's got seven

(09:09):
receptions of twenty five plus yards this year, ty for
second in the league, trailing only Jackson Smith and Jigwin.
And since twenty twenty four pickings twenty one receptions of
twenty five plus yards ranked second in the league behind
Justin Jefferson. This guy is playing really well with a
quarterback who's playing really well right now. And if I'm

(09:30):
Jerry Jones, I don't let this young man get out
the door.

Speaker 2 (09:32):
You can't, especially after giving up third and fifth round
picks for him, even a third round compensatory pick he
would get in return. I'm sure does it kind of
balance out? Maybe, But then you're giving up a fifth
round pick in that instance for one year of George
Pickens in a year where it's not looking great.

Speaker 1 (09:48):
I mean, the great bill.

Speaker 3 (09:50):
Do you want to spend seventy million dollars on receivers,
and we ain't even talk about Turpin. Turping got a
little mini deal. So that's three receiver, okay.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
Sty on your quarterback, that's one thirty right there.

Speaker 1 (10:02):
For two and a half. We'll see. You didn't pay
the linebacker, so you got some money any paid on short.
I just asked a question, man, I'll say this. I
asked my cap guy, where's where's eighty eight? Looking at
here as we start to go down the road, and
if I pay him, where where do I go? I'm
having the conversation. I'm having the conversation and having the
conversation with the quarterback way deep behind the scenes. Where's

(10:23):
just us? How you're feeling about this thing here? And
in two years, if there's only one here, how do
you go? I mean, look at what they did with
a Marik Cooper. You paid the Marik Cooper, but you
drafted CD Lamb. It got to that point in time
and I know it's a diff contract.

Speaker 3 (10:34):
It sounds like you're pulling the James Franklin on CD
man sounds That's what sounded like to me. Man City
left two weeks ago and it was oh, my god,
how we going to survive with our CD? And I
was like, I don't know what our cdmes James Franklin.
Right now, it's going to be getting paid six hundred
and sixty thousand dollars a month, and she.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
Like City LMB better than George Pickens. Yes, right now
and in general, yes, yes, are you hesitating? Really you hesitate?
That is just the hesitation alone. You could say, yes,
it's already been answered. It's already been asked.

Speaker 1 (11:05):
Did you cheat on me? Exactly one point time? Too long? Baby.
At one point time, Jermaine Jackson was the lead singer
of the Jacksons.

Speaker 2 (11:14):
They was Daddy come Jermain Jackson wasn't putting them CD
LAMBDA and then then then then Mike Jackson the franchise
records for receptions.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
Then Michael got the mic and or or you know,
it's just like Genesis. Phil Collins wasn't always the lead
singer in Genesis. Then he became that guy. I mean
to quote the great Bill Parcells. You don't want to
lead a huddle because you never know who's going in.

(11:44):
George Pickens has gone in and been that number one guy.
My gosh, my god. CD. It ain't me, Doug. I'm
with you, Doe.

Speaker 2 (11:51):
Hey, there's there's narratives out there trying to trade George
Pickens right now.

Speaker 1 (11:55):
Wouldn't we Traine George Pickens just come from the trained
George Picks. That's all I'm I'm standing on. I'm not
trading George Picking.

Speaker 2 (12:02):
Are you saying you'd be trading CD lamb.

Speaker 1 (12:04):
I didn't say that because because looking at his cow,
looking at his coe, looking I need to look at
the contract. I'm not trading him because I'm fire, and
I'm pretty sure to trade him. Trade. Yeah, yeah, I'm
pretty sure. You can't do anything right now or next year.
But we see how this think this all right? This
is it ain't mean though, it's not me either. All

(12:26):
I'm saying is you go back now if I try
to do what the Cincinnati Bengals did, how do we
make this work? How do I make it work? With
Higgins and with Jamar Chase and Joe Burrow figured out?
I mean trade Hendricks? Is you like you light guy
on the boat? So they cowboys got rid of Micah.

Speaker 2 (12:42):
So I'll play Devil's acc Cit with you for a bit.
Let's say that they do pay George Pickens and you
got to pay him thirty two. Let's say that, right,
you got sixty eight to those two. You got what
is it, fifteen deferd, you got sixty to Dak Prescott.
I get it. You have to draft perfectly to be
able to fill the team, not around them. So I
get that, get I get you know where where you'd

(13:03):
be coming from with it. I would take that chance personally,
I think you I think it's worth dedicating that much
money to those kinds of playmakers. It's it's a it's
a rare gift to be able to have two receivers
like that on the same team.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
I'll figure it out defensively, and like you did this
and and well and then let me say this man,
and it's it's it's it's I'll be I'll be a
Matt Eberflu's defender from this standpoint. If you believe in
the man, as Jerry has said yesterday on his radio
show and then when he met with the media after
the East West Shrine Bowl presser, then do what you

(13:36):
did for Dan Quinn. Go get him the players he needs. Okay, Okay,
if you're gonna say that, I mean the end of
the day, Jaques. If I'm going to hire you, then
I need to let you do what you do. Jack
likes this the boom. Nick, if this is how you
get down, then give me. Let me give you the tool.
If you're my carpenter, let me give you the tools
if I believe in your work. Because right now, I

(13:57):
don't think it's been fair for eber Flu. It was
not fair for Mike Zimmer last year. Zim wins with
big people up front, and you had no big people,
and the people are complaining like that. It's not really
Mike's fault. Give Mike what he needs. What's his resume say?
When he was successful, they didn't have it here. So
if you want to see, because I was one of
those when Dan Quinn got brought in from Atlanta, what
they bringing this do for? Man left Atlanta bad shape? Man,

(14:19):
You know you went down here, you cold product. They
they and I said, if you're going to bring him here,
let him bring in his coaches, which they did, and
then they gave him what he needed. Do that. When
I covered the Lakers and they brought Phil Jackson in,
they Phil brought in his coaches and then he started
being able to bring in players he wanted. Here's John Sally.
John Sally couldn't play, but John Sally knew how to
triangle work. Hey, go work with Shaq. Here's Ron Harper.

(14:42):
Ron Harper wasn't a starter anymore, but hey, Kobe, here's
how the triangle works. And then they eventually brought in
Horace Grest. So they brought these guys to help teach
his system ended up winning the championship. I'm not saying
Matt Ebrifles about to win tho championship, but give him
what you did, Dan Quinn. They spend a whole draft
defensively saying what you need, baby, and it worked. I'm

(15:02):
not saying it's gonna work with he Refluse, but can
we be fair? That was all I would say. Be fair.
I ain't saying I'm sold on the guy, because I
did ask a question, what did he really win in Indianapolis?
What did he really do? What really makes him great?
I mean, DQ to continual Super Bowl, had an MVP
was up twenty eighty three, He at least had that.

(15:24):
He Refluses had none of this, None of this is
a that's his accordingate head coach. All we had to
do is see Monday night a year. Less than a
year later, Bears go win a game.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
I'll contend one point is that he has brought his
guys in. He brought in the Jack Samborn, the ready studients,
the real gad, the trading for Kenneth Murray, I mean
real good. I mean this is a guy who came
up as a linebackers coach, and they said, hey, go
get you linebackers, and we will go get you. Linebackers said, okay,
let me let's go trade for that guy. Let's go
bring them.

Speaker 1 (15:54):
And I was about to say, and Nick, I'm telling
you go buy your school clothes and go here to
to the discount store.

Speaker 2 (16:01):
Hey I can, I can. I can look fresh at
the thrift.

Speaker 1 (16:03):
Now, okay, But but if I sit up here, say Nick,
you know what, man, Well we told dqes to go
down here. We told dq to go down here to
the galleria and go get down and we told you
to go down here to the to the thrift store. Well,
I'm not going to say I try and get I'm
not trying to get people calling me.

Speaker 3 (16:21):
But I'm just saying, somewhere over there in bout Springs.

Speaker 1 (16:26):
Right right, if you the flea market. Okay, the first Monday,
you gothing like that. You are Trader's village. Figure it out.
I mean, it's I got you. That's that's what I'm saying,
and and and for. There's certain things that don't want
to hear it when I say that, But I just
feel like somewhere along the way, we would like to
be fair to guy. If you want to fire me

(16:48):
and you don't like me like Nolan, okay, fine. But
when they brought in DQ helped the guy out Sam Born, No,
I didn't know he was.

Speaker 2 (16:58):
I thought it was Murray.

Speaker 1 (17:01):
I mean, what was the team fold sixth year.

Speaker 2 (17:03):
I mean, he's a reputation as the stiffest linebacker in
the NFL.

Speaker 1 (17:07):
I do get Pastor to disprove the right. He was
a beast and there was no there was no real
dollars attached to any of these guys, you know, so
it was so yeah that real players, man, right, I mean, hey,
he's my guy, and the Bear say, okay, thanks Jack.

Speaker 2 (17:25):
The only guy that he's brought in that has been
worth keeping has been Ready Steward. And that was the
guy that they just fell into after waiver cuts.

Speaker 1 (17:30):
And even Ready Steward is what should he really excellent?
All right, let's get our first break here. He's Jack Taylor.
That is Nick Harrison to distress media maational das Cowboys do.

Nick Harris for We're Star Telegram joined us right now.
Jean Jaques Taylor form a Cowboys beat writer and the

(20:15):
author is here. Cowboys getting ready to take on the
Washington Commanders, who are a three and three football team.
They had the Chicago Bears at home on Monday night
and they lost. They ended up losing that game. So,
by the way, it was a game last year that
Chicago had won in Washington under Matt Ebraflus, and they

(20:37):
choked that game away. So they took care of business.
Looking at the three victories for Washington, they beating the
New York Giants, the Las Vegas Raiders and the LA Chargers.
They've lost to Green Bay at Green Bay, They've lost
to Atlanta at Atlanta, and they lost at home to Chicago.

(20:57):
So what do we make of Washington.

Speaker 2 (20:59):
Yeah, it's a team that's trying to get healthy and
figure out its identity when it's healthy, right, I mean,
Jaye Daniels being out certainly hasn't helped their offensive progression. Defensively,
there's there's been some issues with the run defense. I mean,
when a guy like DeAndre Swift can get seven point
seven yards per carry on you, Oh my gosh, this
is not the Eagles DeAndre Swift, or even prior to that, George,
this is Georgie. I mean, this is a this is

(21:19):
very washed DeAndre Swift. It's it's DeAndre Stiff these days.

Speaker 1 (21:23):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (21:23):
Wow, he turned back the clock on him. So is
this a get right game for Javonte Williams. I think potentially.
I think with the way that run defense played last
last week, kind of a dan Quinn run defense that
we got used to seeing around here for a couple
of years. Nothing against d Q, but it's kind of
the nature of it. But I am curious to see
how the defense response talking about the Cowboys defense against

(21:44):
a running quarterback and Jane Daniels, we've known they have
struggles with guys on the run. What can they do here?

Speaker 1 (21:50):
They have struggles with everybody man, so they do.

Speaker 2 (21:52):
There's not one like style player where they're like, oh yeah,
they're typically good against that kind of right.

Speaker 3 (21:58):
Curious though, and I think this often having covered football
for thirty years, at what point does personal pride come in?

Speaker 1 (22:06):
Like, like do.

Speaker 3 (22:08):
You care enough? Just as a professional too? I was
so embarrassed last week, Doug. Whatever it ain't gonna happen
this week.

Speaker 1 (22:15):
If it didn't happen last week, when it well that's
get on the microphone and tell you buckle up.

Speaker 3 (22:20):
They didn't respect Rico, like, they don't look at me
like that man, they said, they know, well they didn't,
so they didn't respect him. I don't think they respect him.
I think they're just like he bumping his gun whatever, dog.
I mean, that's what the Kenny Clark said, although Kny Clark.

Speaker 1 (22:33):
Wasn't here with him as a teammate. Kenny Clark said,
now he hadn't seen us right, and now he hadn't
Sonny did like this.

Speaker 3 (22:42):
I was curious to see what the game plan would
look like, how they would play that first week Ceedd
was up when they had all his injuries, And now
I'm curious to see does this defense have any professional
pride to them at all?

Speaker 1 (22:54):
Like and maybe they do, maybe they don't.

Speaker 3 (22:57):
But I think we get an answer this week, okay,
because this personal pride can make you play better.

Speaker 1 (23:04):
Washington average buck fifty on the ground. Oh what's the
over number? Would they hit their average? I mean really even,
hey guys, we can keep it one thirty. Let's try
to keep it one thirty. But that's what I'm saying.
When they hit their average, you know, now, how much
is that?

Speaker 3 (23:20):
Because they played two safeties back and it's like killers
with the run, not with the past.

Speaker 1 (23:25):
We don't want to give them no big plays.

Speaker 2 (23:28):
Talking about the Washington offense, no Cowboys day, the.

Speaker 1 (23:32):
Cowboys defense is going to be predicated on the Cowboy offense. Here,
They're gonna the Cowboy offense is gonna need to try
and put together a couple of drives and control the
clock a little bit to keep Washington nothing. They need
to score their average. Yes, if they score thirty and
Washington scores their average and the Cowboys will win. But

(23:53):
the Cowboys need to score their average thirty. They almost
got there. That almost ain't getting it done well. And
when the defense, when the defense allows a final drive
of six minutes, seven second, you'll get the ball back.
That's that's tough. Now, you had you had a couple
of reds on trips where you took field goals, touchdouts.
But we know, see, we know now who we like.

(24:15):
We still knew his favorite fil A phrase.

Speaker 3 (24:17):
We know the carpenter's tools on this particular team, and
so that makes you play different. You can't lie to
yourself and this is that you gotta go like when
you inside the ten in the headset, you need to.

Speaker 1 (24:30):
Be four downs.

Speaker 3 (24:32):
We don't need Brandon kicking twenty five yard field goals
because we really know what we are, right, we got
to score touchdowns?

Speaker 1 (24:40):
Yeah, yeah, and that game against Carolina was it's pretty
obvious that you needed to. But once again, talking to
back after the game, thought getting the ball back didn't happen?
Did not happen?

Speaker 7 (24:50):
You know?

Speaker 1 (24:51):
Well yeah, now you know, second final break when we
come back here, reinforcements along the way, not just see lamb,
there's more we'll talk about it right here on the
media national dialskyboards.

Speaker 5 (25:01):

Lamb's coming back this week? Watching George Pickens put up
their number, then I feel good. I'm ready to go.
I feel good. Uh. Tyler Booker, the first round draft

(27:47):
pick and right guard, has been out with a high
ankle spring. We talked to him a little bit today
and he says he's trending towards getting back. Didn't want
to say it was back, but doctor Jerry Jones said
on Tuesday, looking for him to play along with Cavante Turpets,
So bodies are coming back? Anybody else potentially here? Nick,
do we need to be talking about?

Speaker 2 (28:02):
Jack Sanborn was limited today in practice past the final
step of his concussion protocol, so you get your linebacker
back many we can talk about some other guys. Cooper
Bebe is gonna stay on i R at least one
more week. Still dealing with that ankle foot issue. He's
probably a couple of weeks out, honestly. Demarvin overshown was
said yesterday. Yesterday by Brian Schottenheimer. He's a week or
two out from having his practice window open. I I

(28:25):
think he'll play against the Raiders after the bye week.
I think that's that's probably what we're looking at for him.
Mingo Mingo, Yeah, so Jalen Cropper, Jalen Cropper was released yesterday.
It opens up a roster spot for Jonathan Mingo. That's
the most practical one that that gets put in into
place there. Uh so, yeah, you're you're looking at a
potential Jonathan Mingo situation.

Speaker 1 (28:46):
Mingo, Look, and we debating this on players lamps. Jalen
Toberr to be a free agent at the end of
the if if he don't get if Nick doesn't get
him traded first. So Mingo has a you talk about
twenty twenty six, Mingo has a future. So it's gonna

(29:07):
be on this be on the roster and so there
you go with that. Now, Ryan Flinnoy's made it real
hard for him to get on the football hill, real
real hard fight. Mingo is going to be a part
of the future of the Cowboys.

Speaker 2 (29:21):
Okay, next year is his contract here, so he's gonna
have to figure out something quick. He's gonna figure it
out quick.

Speaker 1 (29:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (29:28):
I will say he had a decent training camp, but
so the.

Speaker 3 (29:30):
Kyril and he's yeah, I was like, yeah, whatever, man,
I seen enough underwear Olympics.

Speaker 1 (29:35):
I don't I don't get too hyped on that. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (29:39):
See, you know nobody and it's my guy. You know,
nobody had more more. You know, East is called Bull
Morgan training camp Hall of Fame, rest for twelve thy
seventy four yards, caught one hundred and seventy four pass
and scored seventy seven.

Speaker 1 (29:53):
Touchdowns in training camp. Dennis Houston, Yeah, I used to
call him All Oxnard, all Alamo Dome. I was in
practicing at Santoio, All Alamo done looking good, or you know,
all all Wichita falls, all Austin.

Speaker 3 (30:05):
And Boa is my guy. So it ain't even about him.
It's just a lot of guys that performed.

Speaker 1 (30:10):
It's a tradition like no other. Danny Avindol one year
all Oxnard.

Speaker 3 (30:13):
You know, somebody asked me about three weeks ago about
Danny Avindoor he was with the Cowboys. That said, my
last memory of Danny Danny Amndola with the Cowboys if
somebody picked him up when they were doing scrimmage with
the Broncos and picked him up and tossed him out
of bound like he was a six year old.

Speaker 1 (30:32):
I just remember that it had him returning punts against
the Chargers. He fumbled. He just it was it just
didn't translate to the football field, and there was I
think Danny would probably be honest. He didn't deserve to
make the team. No, not that version of him. He
did not deserve to make the team. Amingo. He needed
three or four, five or six or something years. You know,
you gotta make your you gotta make the team. In

(30:52):
came so when Tony Tony Roman made the team in camp,
in games, in preseason games, and so people need to
see something Dac when he got when he played in
the preseason game that first went in Los Angeles. Okay,
looking at something here, Danny e Mindol's got like, oh,
I can't trust you. I can't I can't do that.
And he was the darling and OTAs and all that

(31:13):
kind of good stuff. But you got you gotta show
it on the field or Barry switch, you said, can
you do it when the band is playing? That was
his thing. Can you do it when the band is playing.
All this stuff was closed door and all that or
close practicing when the band is playing. If you can't
do it, I got no use for you. There you go,
and and he learned, to his credit, he learned to
get better. That's that's one of those where I don't
blame the Cowboys. I don't blame him to say. And

(31:36):
you guys didn't see it that nah nah man uh.
Sometimes he did. And so people he went to Saint Louis,
went to a bad football team, got an opportunity to play,
and it was you know this, The Cowboys at that
time were a better football team underway. They were winning,
so you needed to really show something. So there you go.
But okay, practice report anybody out there. We need to
be thinking about everybody good.

Speaker 2 (31:56):
Everybody's good if we're looking on the other side for
the commander's commander's So three guys did not practice because
of injury. Dorn's Armstrong former Cowboy dealing with a hamstring,
Chris Rodriguez Junior, one of their backup burning backs, dealing
with the calf, and Drake Jackson, one of their rotational
defensive ends, dealing with a knee. There's a lot of
guys that were out for rest purposes, but doesn't look
like anything too notable. Terry McLaurin, who has not been

(32:17):
playing much this year, dealing with a quad but he
was limited today. He's back on the practice field.

Speaker 1 (32:22):
So he's centually seen that tape. He'll be ready to
go on Sunday. Well, this key game, Washington three and
three Cowboys two three and one home game the Crib
is a home game. You gotta get it done because
the next time you see the commands gon to be
a Christmas night up.

Speaker 3 (32:35):
There, and this would be if they could pull it off,
a fantastic win with who's coming up over the next
three weeks after that.

Speaker 2 (32:42):
If you want to have a shot, you got to
go three and oh before the bye.

Speaker 3 (32:46):
Nick being on that thing, I don't you know, I
don't think that I think they got to win.

Speaker 1 (32:50):
I will say I.

Speaker 2 (32:50):
Think with the way the back half of the schedule
set up.

Speaker 1 (32:52):
So I would say they got to win three in
the next four. So the next three games, okay before
the bye home against Washington at Denver and then a
home game on Monday night against Kyler Murray and the
Arizona Cardinals. And Kyler Murray said, whatever you want about
but dude, don't lose att period. Whatever I want about it,
you do that, you do that, but just go ahead,
check the record, check the record. All right, that's a

(33:14):
mediamash the cars. Jock Taylor, new Scrutch Chris beaming, everybody
here at Dallas Cowboys dot Com. We're done. This has
been a production of Dallascowboys dot Com and the Dallas
Cowboys Football Club.
