Speaker 1 (00:06):
The following is a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com
and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
Cowboys.
Speaker 1 (00:15):
This is the Player's Lounge, broadcasting live from Dallas Cowboys
World headquarters at the Star. Now your hosts Barry Church,
Anthony door Set, de Montree More and newly Scrugs.
Speaker 3 (00:37):
It is that time. It's Monday Players Lounge brought to
you by here from the start, Frisco home of the
Dallas Cowboys. Got Anthony door Set in the house, got
Trey Moore here, and you got Buried Church all time.
Then played the National Football League drugs. First off, let
us begin the show. Congratulations to the fight.
Speaker 4 (00:57):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's my squad.
Speaker 3 (01:03):
People in the playoffs, going to take on the University
of Miami at home in college station. Yeah, you'll be
on the sideline.
Speaker 4 (01:14):
I don't know, man, I just sent out that text
message earlier and they said we might have you on
the game. Tickets with the sideline passes college football.
Speaker 5 (01:22):
They didn't took.
Speaker 4 (01:22):
Over, so we'll see, man, we'll see what you know,
maybe because of the trooper, they probably was like, hey man,
we got to make sure we got our people at
the side of.
Speaker 3 (01:31):
So what happens is when these games, so people think, hey,
it's a home game. It's a home game, but the
college football Playoff runs it. Yeah, it's kind of like
when the when the playoffs happened. It's a cowboy game,
but the NFL starts getting involved and as you go deeper,
like that's like the NFC Championship game, they come in,
they take the building up, They got a whole bunch
of stuff. So yeah, it's like when the NBA Finals.
(01:53):
Remember when the mass played the NBA Finals. A lot
of people are like, hey, look, the league, we don't
get to do what we normally do. Like the league
took over the arena. This is their production. So Trey
one of those things where what they normally will do
for you. Hey man, we're playing you know, Auburn, and
it's regularly they don't get to do that now because
they get to come in and institute whatever rules they want.
Speaker 4 (02:11):
I'm glad you explained it, because one, I feel like
I'm not that prima donna when it comes to things.
So like I know where the pegan oorder is. I'd
be like, hey, can y'all just give me here?
Speaker 3 (02:19):
And I'm cool, give you a building, man.
Speaker 4 (02:20):
So the fact that I'm always so gracious with asking
them for that. They always accommodate me and like make sure, hey,
you know these are going to be the extra tickets, this,
that and the third, and so for her to tell
me right off the back, she was like, Hey, this
is how it is. I'm gonna let you know as
the time go on. But yeah, he said, I'm just
happy to be there in the build.
Speaker 6 (02:37):
Man, y'all might have a cooler. I'm not sweet or
something like that. Anyway, That's why.
Speaker 4 (02:41):
I said, I'm gonna go to the Letterman's Club if
you being because you go under that the stadium. They
have the whole thing decked out where you can get food,
drinks and hold boys in there and it's warm.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
But but it's the first time everybody coming, Yeah, everybody.
People ain't seen in the mid and everybody coming that exactly.
Speaker 4 (03:04):
I'm gonna tell you like this, If DA calls hey,
they answer, it's three people over there that Miles Garrett
and von Miller and Mike.
Speaker 3 (03:12):
Mike, Kevin and Johnny.
Speaker 4 (03:15):
But but with those four right there, those four being
active players and stuff like that, they are untouchable.
Speaker 5 (03:21):
They get whatever they want.
Speaker 3 (03:22):
You gotta get Emmitt Smith what he needs because his
son's on the team and he's gonna be there, so you.
Speaker 4 (03:27):
Gotta get him what he needs. Agis take care of
Aggie's Now hold on, now, hey, what he said. He's
Emmitt Smith, he's a Hall of Famer and this and that.
Speaker 3 (03:34):
You don't think they don't they don't want the NFL's
all time lead rusher who's an Aggie parent on the
sideline there, hey.
Speaker 4 (03:42):
Man, And that's gonna go through college football playoffs? Yes,
they want you go through.
Speaker 3 (03:47):
That Letterman's club. Hey, that twelve man A parent A parent, man.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
Man.
Speaker 2 (03:51):
I had something really cool happen.
Speaker 6 (03:54):
And I'm still trying to find the footage out there,
and I know NFL Films has it. But my first
Super Bowl played in with the Tight and you know,
he played the Rams in Atlanta and I come out
pregame and you know, we're going through our stuff and
my dad is on the sideline.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
Right and I'm like, what you doing on the sideline?
Speaker 6 (04:12):
And he had worked out something with some network and
that he said, Look, they asked me to do something
for him. I told him, like, if they would let
me do it from the field, So I can come
down here and be with you before the game.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
So I'm like, okay, cool national anthem. My dad is.
Speaker 6 (04:24):
Standing next to me still like security was trying to
get him off the field. He wouldn't go there, bro,
I look at him. He bawling, tears streaming down his face.
So pro do you right now?
Speaker 2 (04:37):
I was like, you got to go. This is dope moment.
But we can't have this one right now.
Speaker 3 (04:44):
You got to go, you know what I mean? But
it was still was.
Speaker 6 (04:46):
It was awesome. And I've tried to find the footage.
I've asked for it and like nobody, I haven't. I
haven't received it yet. I'm hoping that one day I
actually get that because I don't know how. Too many
guys that actually have that experience apparent on the side.
Speaker 4 (05:00):
And all those people out there, the Twitter trolls and stuff.
Y'all good at doing your research. If y'all can't help
the man, ad Final Cowboy Nation helps, please.
Speaker 2 (05:07):
That's that's something I want. I really want.
Speaker 5 (05:10):
That's dope, man, all right.
Speaker 3 (05:13):
Cowboys in trouble got it, went out, maybe went out left, so.
Speaker 6 (05:20):
They got to win out for for what? For the
ten for the something else?
Speaker 5 (05:25):
Basically for everything.
Speaker 3 (05:28):
At this point in time, they unless they go get
ten and then hope other people falter, this thing is
gonna be and wrapped. Nine won't do it. You're gonna
have to get to ten at this point time. And
you start looking around the tie breakers and everything. Man,
it's this thing is just they've they've dropped too many
(05:48):
tough games. The Arizona game is going to one. They're
gonna look back. I think there's like maybe ten of
eleven games and the one, the one win with the
Cowboy and in Arlington, in Arlington to Kobe Burssett, that was.
Speaker 4 (06:04):
I was just a dagger, right, That's the only that's
but that's the only one that could really be a dagger.
When you start to go back and look at some
of these, like you look at the Bears, they were
number one this past week.
Speaker 5 (06:15):
The Panthers they doing what they're doing.
Speaker 4 (06:18):
So it's like, is it really like those because I
know you were counting on those games.
Speaker 3 (06:23):
You're getting that Carolina Arizona for sure in the Packer
game and you're right there, you you had them three
games Arizona. Excuse them, that's an excuse him at the
crib Philly, you had the ball to go down the
field and win the game and you don't get it done.
And then the Packer game, you had them dead to
(06:44):
write and you let them come back. You know, these
are three games right there that they'll look back if
you're Brian shot him in the staff and you say, man,
we have to figure out twenty twenty six. How do
we get those? You're gonna have to win on the road. Yeah,
And and Rick Gozen once told me, he said, look,
if if you're trying to build a football team, the
first thing you need to figure out is who is
winning the division and how do you build your team
(07:05):
to beat that team that's winning the division. So out
the NFC West, you've seen Sean Payton and Denver. How
do we beat Denver? That's what they tried to build
their foot both. I mean, I mean, how do we
beat Kansas City? I should say Kansas City has been
the king as we saw last night lost to Houston.
You guys had the bets there and I was the
only pool who went in Kant's city. But they built
their team. How do we go take out the Chiefs?
(07:27):
Gotta go do that. And when Jimmy Johnson was trying
to when he took over the Cowboy was like, how
do you beat Washington? How do you beat the Giants?
These are the teams who win the Super Bowls. Here,
You've got to do that. And if I'm Brian Shine,
how do I go and win it at Philly? You
can win at home. They went home against me pretty
much any anybody you know, they are pretty good at
winning at home. But how do you go beat a
Philly on the road. Because it looks right now, I
(07:48):
know Philly's got the charges tonight. This is They're gonna
win this division again, need one of two more victories
and it's a rap.
Speaker 7 (07:53):
And I feel like offensively, the Cowboys have the firepower
to match up with not only Philly, but anybody in
the National Football League. I just think on that defensive
side of the football, you have the building blocks. Now,
you got the defensive line, at least the interior part.
Speaker 3 (08:07):
Like that's solid.
Speaker 7 (08:07):
You got three four defensive tackles into that you can
just throw in there, and the level of play is high.
You got some guys off of the edge that maybe
you can get better in that category. But to me,
it's got to be that secondary to me going forward,
and you know there's four games left here, but you've
got to be able to.
Speaker 3 (08:23):
Get better in the back end.
Speaker 7 (08:25):
I mean, whether it's you know, getting different younger pieces
in whatever the case may be, developing those younger guys,
but if you want to compete in the NFC and
the NFL overall, you got to have.
Speaker 3 (08:35):
That secondary in place.
Speaker 7 (08:36):
Man, the linebackers, I think what the Cowboys have.
Speaker 2 (08:41):
And when I say this, I mean part of the secondary.
Speaker 6 (08:44):
Bland coming off of injury last year, Dig still being hurt,
you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (08:49):
And we know this as players. It doesn't matter how
it hurt you are.
Speaker 6 (08:53):
Once you go out there and you put that on film, Hey,
they ain't judging you off your injury.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
They judging you off your play, you know what I mean.
Speaker 6 (08:59):
And So with that being said, like I don't know
if that's a scapegoat for one of the two or
maybe for both of them to maybe have some I
guess you could say some longevity to be in here
a little bit longer. But yeah, that that that the
secondary definitely has to get better.
Speaker 3 (09:18):
Let me add on to that. When you talk about secondary,
and it's his name, when I bring this up, walking.
They missed Jordan.
Speaker 4 (09:23):
Lewis, They are missing him, and you do what is
it You do not realize your young son heroes until
they are gone.
Speaker 6 (09:31):
Dude, you just hit the nail on the head because
I did not realize how good of a nickel he was.
But just not that like a team leader obviously too
as well. And yeah, he's he's drastically missed.
Speaker 7 (09:44):
And he's a communicator, like you're the guy like when
you're at that nickel spot, you gotta be able to
talk to your safeties and your corners. So when they
get you in those bunch those bunch packages or you
got motion coming across, he was the guy communicating to
the linebackers, sorry, bump over, or if it's man and man,
I'm taking them all the way across, y'all can boss
over and in and out versus the running backs.
Speaker 3 (10:03):
And then when you get those bunchs.
Speaker 7 (10:04):
But he's the guy that's either gonna be on the
point saying, you know, the other two corners in the safety,
y'all in and out this.
Speaker 3 (10:09):
But he was that guy.
Speaker 7 (10:10):
He was that dog that they needed in the secondary
all year long.
Speaker 4 (10:13):
And one people don't realize is when you talk about
that nickel position. It's so pivotal and swinging. When you're
talking about it, you're talking about him standing right there.
He's talking from your corner over there to your linebackers,
letting you know that it's okay to do that. But
not only is he doing that in this defense and
most defenses, your nickels are the guys that blitz it.
So guess what he has to come up there and
talk to us as the d lineman and say, hey,
(10:34):
bump in, or this is what I see, or hey,
can you hush rush a little bit tighter? And the
one thing that we've all been talking about is who
is that dog? Who is that guy that could sit
there and galvanize the truth. And we said, hey, who's
gonna talk to them? We got that in Cinton Williams.
But you don't realize Jay Lou was doing that. You've
seen him having the energy hitting people and telling people,
hey man, we can't play like this, or stepping.
Speaker 5 (10:54):
Up to be that guy.
Speaker 3 (10:55):
So you're talking about a Jacksonville team where he went to.
They've won five of their last six foot they're in
first place in their division, and their defense is playing well.
Defense defense gave up nineteen points to the Colts and
they put the Danny Dives went out of the game.
A week before that, they hold the Titans to three
(11:16):
points of me. So, so he's not only gone from
the Cowboys, they haven't replaced him, and he's gone and helped
another team and looks like pretty much so at barring
a collapse, the Jaguars should be making the playoffs.
Speaker 5 (11:30):
Do y'all think?
Speaker 7 (11:30):
Let me ask all everybody here, do y'all think that's
part of the problem with the Cowboys is the fact
that they overvalue the talent that they who do have
in the building. Like they're letting a guy like Jordan
Lewis go ahead and walk in free agency, and they're
thinking that they could just elevate the next guy up,
Like hell, I've seen that time and time to get
the linebacker position. You know, they let guys go and
then oh yeah, we'll you know, get guys up within
(11:53):
the building, and it just doesn't work out that way.
I mean, and that you know, you've seen them on
the defensive line.
Speaker 3 (11:58):
You let you know, de Marcus Lawrence ride going to
elevate it up. But but you were trying to pay Micah.
Speaker 8 (12:06):
You you had to pay Micah, which yeah, right, you
couldn't keep d Law, you couldn't keep George Lewis, and
then geordgan Louis, with all due respect to him as
the player he'd already signed the last deal he signed
with the Cowboys was right.
Speaker 3 (12:22):
It was team this guy. This guy did what you did, hey, man,
show me the money and shot Cohn dunk gone.
Speaker 5 (12:30):
Man, I got him.
Speaker 3 (12:34):
So you going to Florida those state taxes, and the
Cowboys couldn't compete with that as they were trying to
figure out what is it gonna take to son Michael,
which goes back into that whole thing of not signing
Mike or hurts you another place, or not having a
better strategy of hey, we're not gonna pay him so
we can pay all these other people. Then you know,
with Jordan Lewis would have been a guy that got
lined up to pay. I don't know if they'd have
(12:55):
brought back Tank, but they clearly would have brought back
Jorge Lewis.
Speaker 4 (12:59):
I think they would have out back Jay lou and
I think what they say hindsight is twenty twenty. Yeah,
you should have paid Micah so you could have kept
some of these pieces, because imagine if you would have
had a George Lewis and the dran Bland already took
it up, and possibly with J Lou being a significant leader,
him being drafted here and stuff like that, he possibly
could have been that voice or reason when it's like, hey,
(13:20):
maybe things would have worked out a little bit different
with Diggs because guess what Michael would have been paid.
Speaker 5 (13:24):
J Lou would have been here. He's a good leader
in the.
Speaker 4 (13:27):
Voice of it to say, hey, stay level hited and
it just sucks. It's like, you know how you unravel
that thread and you just got to deal with it.
This whole is starting to seek and so I think
they've done a good job of finding a new centrist
in getting Quentin Williams and Kenny.
Speaker 5 (13:42):
Clark come in here to where you're trying to patch
that hole.
Speaker 4 (13:45):
But that hole was that significant And so do you
really think, like who when you look at this now,
there's so many things you say, who won this packer's
trade or the cowboys trade? Who do you really think won?
Because before the trade the stuff started happening. For the
Mica situation, if they'll.
Speaker 3 (14:01):

Yes, congratulations the fighting Texas An m Aggie's made the playoff.
Also to Joey McGuire, former Cedar Hill coach. Yes, over there,
Texas Tech man. They won the Big Twelve. They're the
number four seed. They get it by So congratulations Joey.
Good dude, man, I know.
Speaker 4 (16:58):
Let's stay right there real quick because I wanted to
ask you what you cover in Texas sports. People didn't
realize and I didn't realize in the in my group
chat that I talked to the NFL guys with him
being at Cedar Hill. People don't realize when Cedar Hill
became a powerhouse and was winning state he was there.
Now that he won the Big Twelve championship and being
at Tech, like, does he go into that conversation of
(17:19):
the all time great coaches of Texas and being in
the Hall of Fame and stuff like that, and maybe
because I know he was arguably going up with coach
Samples at Dunkerville.
Speaker 3 (17:29):
Hey, look, he's got to go in the Texas Sports
Hall of Fame down there Waco. I mean he's going
to go in. I mean, he got one a dog
on Championship Texa Tech. You know that's that's that's big
stuff right there. And and what dominated it, Okay, dominated
the Big twelve. I mean they gotta buy So so
for what Joey's done in high school and what he
did at Taxas Tech, he he'll definitely go in and
(17:50):
start look at that resume there.
Speaker 5 (17:52):
But just over Run's a good dude.
Speaker 3 (17:54):
You know, that's one thing. You're happy when you see
good dudes go in, people who care about their players.
And so I'm thrilled for him. And you know, the
Tech fans came out there packed at and T Stadium.
Speaker 4 (18:05):
Bro.
Speaker 5 (18:05):
I mean you.
Speaker 3 (18:07):
Well, you couldn't find no parking around there, bro. But
we were hiking it to get us there. They had
to hike it. I was I was driving by to
go see my guy Wally at the Man Shot, and
I was like, I forgot go ahead, the games are
going on here. I didn't go to the game, and man,
they packed up in there and saw, uh the way
it was, you know, so so good for them.
Speaker 5 (18:23):
I didn't lose that like it was that many rare don't. No,
they deep Now my wife is, she's the alumni. So
I was just like, hey, you you know about the school.
Speaker 4 (18:32):
She said, oh, no, we do this, and it's people
in the neighborhood start putting signs out that idea.
Speaker 3 (18:37):
Many So yeah, they spent the money in the first
they make, they spent the money. I saw people hate
no money the Big twelve media day over here at
the start. Oh yeah, Deon, and Deon has stuff to say. Hey, Joey, Joey,
all that money you got, Joey, I mean, you know what,
why be mad at.
Speaker 4 (18:59):
Jolly Jolley said, I'm gonna sit back and get this
old money right on, y'all.
Speaker 3 (19:02):
I'm not mad, And Joey there got a boost. I
wasn't mad when Dion got to use the celebrities he
had out there. I remember Deon's first game when they
came to for ord Citez. You had a bunch of
the kids come out. Hey, man, come out here, come
see us play man. They was over there all Dion side. Man,
it was one of my Willy Pie. Oh Willie Pile's
son was going to Michigan. Will he hit someone.
Speaker 12 (19:19):
Right on over there to they going on, Hey, problem
using for what you want to So my thing is, man,
I'm not mad at people who are taking advantage of
the system that has always been in place to.
Speaker 5 (19:32):
Help other people. So leverage out.
Speaker 7 (19:34):
Now.
Speaker 5 (19:34):
What he said on the express was back last year.
Now take us back.
Speaker 4 (19:38):
In the mix with the old Hey, agis is doing
what we're doing in the mix.
Speaker 3 (19:42):
So I just hope we can keep more kids in
the state. That's just my thing. I wish you could
keep more kids in the state. That's what I wish.
We see too many kids that are just leaving the
state man and going up north and going to pit
and south Southey rule it all now.
Speaker 5 (19:58):
Carroll quarterback is going up What are you doing?
Speaker 2 (20:02):
I mean, what's wrong with that?
Speaker 5 (20:03):
Is he is here.
Speaker 2 (20:04):
They got they got a receiver going to Ohio State.
Speaker 5 (20:07):
What you want to do? I do like I do.
I do me selfishly. But what is his name? Boy?
Last name boy? Southlake Carol the receiver.
Speaker 4 (20:14):
When I tell you that boy is nice Southlake Carol.
They're cold, but they are a very disciplined team and
always then for a while.
Speaker 5 (20:23):
So I'm just like.
Speaker 3 (20:25):
Man, I always wonder when kids leave taxes to go
up north, when did you go take your visit? Better
not be now, I say, right now, don't go up there.
My experience in life, I went from working in Austin
to Cleveland. Joe Belichick told me, he said, I mean
I met the thickest coach your own. Yeah, he said,
double air coach. I ain't know what he meant. I
(20:46):
figured it out real quick. But man, you were buying
clothes you ain't never seen before. I said, My boy
really piled his son. He's going to plat Michigan, And
I'm like, brother, when did you go? And his mom
was talking to me, hanging here, We're going to go
buy some clothes here and some more stuff something. It's
a whole world, man, I didn't know that the Sun
make guest appearances and every now and then it's great.
It's the same way, yes, appearances, the same way make
(21:08):
no serious trading guest appearing in the Marrie told me, man,
you got cabinie what's that, man, you've been inside to well,
I don't like being signed. And when May came around,
they could roll the window down to your car it
was still cold.
Speaker 5 (21:19):
It was still that cold.
Speaker 6 (21:20):
Like that sound like about a month and a half
to maybe two months in like some hot weather. And
we're talking about eighties and once a while touching ninety
or something like that. You gotta think about it. A
lot of them houses old up there and built a
long time ago. They even got central air in a
lot of them places.
Speaker 5 (21:36):
That's honestly what I said.
Speaker 4 (21:37):
When I will play up north with the giants going
to Canada and stuff like that, they were like, oh, yeah,
the summers up here are amazing. I said, they're so
amazing because y'all don't have that many warm days.
Speaker 5 (21:46):
I got it.
Speaker 3 (21:47):
Just don't too quick, man. Some summer really was June
July or it was it September.
Speaker 2 (21:52):
We got to know about them Indian summers.
Speaker 3 (21:54):
You get your good weekend.
Speaker 2 (21:59):
Over fifty year.
Speaker 7 (22:00):
Be like, who tell them to get some butters too?
If he going up north, you gotta gotta get on
the butters.
Speaker 3 (22:05):
You'd be like that South Lake kid, Quinn Yours. He
went to Ohio State came back real fat Grand Closing
came right back.
Speaker 5 (22:15):
You know.
Speaker 3 (22:15):
Yeah, So that's that's, that's that's I'm happy that kids
go where you want. I just personally, selfishly wish that
you could see some of those kids just stay in
state because they could do a whole lot of damage
and elevate more and more more football.
Speaker 6 (22:30):
And this is about strong football programs in Texas.
Speaker 2 (22:33):
Toot, I mean.
Speaker 5 (22:35):
Stop poaching our kids, guys. Now.
Speaker 3 (22:37):
Now, I'll come back to this for the South Lake
kids because I've seen this happen before where Texas and
Texas ain't going to sellly want you. Drew Brees wanted
to go play Texas Mac I don't need you. So
he went to Purdue. And that happens a lot of
times where kids gotta go somewhere because say, hey man,
where can I go? Play?
Speaker 7 (22:52):
About the kid the running back Jenny wasn't he gent
out here? But then we had to go to Boise States, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (23:00):
That's crazy.
Speaker 3 (23:03):
Not you know what, he had a couple, But it
wasn't you know, it was right Texas? Yeah, yeah, it was, Yeah.
Speaker 5 (23:09):
It was.
Speaker 3 (23:09):
It wasn't like that. But when you see take for
mm smith Soun went out to Stanford. You know Andrew
Luck Houston kid, he goes out to Stanford. So you
you lose some of those kids like that. And I mean,
like think about Tim Brown, Highsman Trophy winner right from Dallas.
Tim went to More to Day Now. He told me
the Texas story and I got it when he said
no to Texas.
Speaker 7 (23:27):
Okay for another show, another reason behind it.
Speaker 3 (23:31):
Okay, it's not quite as good as the Hey Boys story.
Speaker 5 (23:36):
Is it?
Speaker 3 (23:36):
In that same vein.
Speaker 5 (23:39):
The same pack.
Speaker 3 (23:40):
It was the same Yeah, it was the same pack.
He felt so kind of way, so it was like that.
But anyway, Hey, congratulates to see people up there. So
Philadelphia got problems. They've got the Chargers. But if you're
a cowboy to even really watch tonight, because okay.
Speaker 4 (24:03):
I'm sorry, I'm not.
Speaker 5 (24:06):
I'm not a fan. What do you say.
Speaker 4 (24:08):
I played for enough team to where it's just like, hey,
I like good football. But as you have to like
for the Eagles to be playing the way that they play,
they are. They're not a team that's just dominating, and
you gotta pay attention to everybody else that's going on
around the league for you to have a fighting shot.
So yes, if I'm going in there, Like you said
off air, I got my Charges hat on and I'm
(24:28):
rooting for them. So I think you have to watch
it because playoff contentions are still on the line.
Speaker 5 (24:34):
Even though it's a fast shot, it's still there.
Speaker 7 (24:35):
Yeah, And if I'm a player, I'm watching it too,
because you got to look and see. Now you don't
control your own destiny. Like if you would have won
versus Detroit, you could say, man, look we running out
no matter what anybody else does. We may need a
guy here and there to lose. But now since you
lost to Detroit, you gotta win out. Plus you gotta
have so many other teams losing games out there. Like
I'm watching the forty nine ers, I'd be watching the
Eagles to see what they got going on, because if they,
(24:57):
you know, stumble up.
Speaker 3 (24:58):
And lose this game, they lose another one. Got the opportunity,
you got the Charges in two weeks, Cowboys.
Speaker 6 (25:05):
I'm watching everybody in the NFC that didn't beat us
that has a better record than that period. So that
would be Carolina, that could be anybody at this point.
Speaker 2 (25:12):
Just like you said, and I'm.
Speaker 6 (25:14):
Watching Fingers Crossed toes Cross, I'm praying, I got everything
on because like we the Cowboys, if by any stretch
of the imagination, like you said, they have to win out.
So I don't know if you're gonna be sitting at
home putting some mojo on the.
Speaker 2 (25:27):
TV or whatever happen. Whatever it's gonna take, it's gonna
take some energy.
Speaker 4 (25:32):
And like Newly just mentioned you you got the charger
in two weeks as well. So to see your opponent
seeing what that's true, potentially coming in there with and
for you to win out, like yeah, you have to
watch this division opponent and somebody you have to see
a chance.
Speaker 3 (25:45):
Man, But gone, my boy, bar Scott said, the Cowboys
need to make make them plans for kN Ku already.
Speaker 2 (25:52):
Already on fishing checking it out.
Speaker 5 (25:56):
That gonna have good stuff. Good.
Speaker 3 (25:58):
Oh May, I don't know you got a chance.
Speaker 5 (26:01):
You're the ten winning guys, ten wins? Win? Do you
do you got can coon? Ready?
Speaker 3 (26:06):
Nah? I need I'm saying win.
Speaker 5 (26:07):
No, we didn't say that.
Speaker 4 (26:08):
If you can win ten, that's still I mean saying
the football player and you is this over for them?
Do you think the ten wins and them actually winning
out is doable?
Speaker 5 (26:20):
Give me the sensible.
Speaker 7 (26:20):
Bait one hundred percent. I think it's doable, not only
winning out but getting in there. I mean I played
on three straight teams where we were eight and eight,
eight and eight, eight and eight. They came down to
that last game of the season. Each and every year
we win that last game win. It was basically a
playoffs against against the division. Each time it was Phillilly
one year year washing all three of them and we
(26:43):
all we had to do is win that game. Were
in the playoffs, so anything could happen. What year Romo
got hurt? One year Romo got hurt and we had
a who was the party Kyle Orton in there? Oh wow,
I forget the other two years. I think Romo might
have been in there.
Speaker 3 (26:58):
R G three and then Romo had the all throwing
the triple coverage. And that was when Rex was the
not re rob Ryan Cording. And that was a good
defensive game plan. Brady for Ping got them. It was
it was you guys were down to bare minimums out there.
I was out, Lee was out like we it was
and and the defense put they did, They put Dallas
(27:21):
in position to win the game. His offensive head coach,
Jason Garrett Tony Romo trying to get it done and
went throwing a triple cover to get picked off into
r G three on one leg, got there win winning.
Speaker 7 (27:32):
That's one guy which they never would have fired.
Speaker 3 (27:33):
Man, Rob, that was man, he was.
Speaker 5 (27:35):
He was good.
Speaker 3 (27:36):
Now his his scheme. You talking about a hard scheme.
His scheme was difficult.
Speaker 7 (27:39):
Any any type of movement to run it back and
pick up his leg, checked it this, check it out.
So like you had to be on your on your
p's and q's and his system. But you talked about
wanting to play for a guy run through a brick wall.
Speaker 5 (27:51):
That dude, he was nice, So you got to play
for him and way phillis right.
Speaker 3 (27:55):
I got to play for Wade, Rob and mayor.
Speaker 5 (27:57):
Not lucky because I wanted to play for them.
Speaker 4 (27:59):
Obviously growing up the Deep were fan but obviously with
the Rob Bryant Ryan, you had multiple checks with Wade. Right,
what is the difference between those two, Because like as
a Cowboys fan when not being in the league, then
once you get to the league and you hear about
these guys, when I hear about Rob Ryan, I instantly
think about Steve Speckno, you gotta it's different.
Speaker 5 (28:19):
Schemes.
Speaker 4 (28:19):
But you're a pioneer. But then also not only you're
a pioneer great in your field, you're a man amongst
men that can make you run through a wall. So
to have somebody smart and play for that, how was that?
It was unbelievable.
Speaker 7 (28:30):
And when it came to Rob and his system, like
I said, it was checks for every any motion, any
the quarterback even gave a signal to somebody else, we
switching it up. But it also talked the quarterback and
throwing a lot of picks. Like you if you had
a bunch of smart guys on that defensive side of football,
you gonna get some turnovers. And we always worry able
to get turnovers under his system. But with Marionelli and
the Flues type of system, it's kind of seaball get ball,
(28:51):
like this is the check. I don't care what they're
doing is man or man, We're gonna get it done.
So there's definitely big contrast between the two. Both of
them are excellent coaches in their own regarding but for me,
I mean I like that that mental aspect of it,
trying to trick the quarterback like you know, disguises, like yeah,
playing chess out there the entire time and getting them
it is it made the game fun.
Speaker 4 (29:10):
So it was like, was he like Rob Marylli or
was he more like he was more like a Marionelli.
Speaker 7 (29:16):
He was more like a Marionelli. But Rex was just
like it was that chess man.
Speaker 3 (29:20):
So so the problem woul Rob not problem. But the
issue with a defense like Rob is you can't be done.
You can't. You can't you know if you got, if
you got guy, I remember talking to Buck showal to
one you he's based on me. I said, but what
happened when you when you window? I don't want to
say the team what happened you went?
Speaker 5 (29:36):
Here?
Speaker 3 (29:36):
Said oh I stopped. I stopped using dumb players. So
dumb players get your beat and in the system like that,
you can be uber talented. But if you can't understand
oh he he pointed there, then it's a problem.
Speaker 7 (29:48):
It is man and he was like, I of Scott
whole lot, like you you be up there making a check.
Speaker 3 (29:53):
He's like, why did you check it?
Speaker 2 (29:54):
We went over it all week.
Speaker 7 (29:55):
But you can't just out athlete everybody when you're in
that type of system.
Speaker 3 (29:59):
It ain't just like be lying up and there too. Nah.
Speaker 7 (30:01):
It's like you gotta you really had to think about
what you were playing out there, man, But it made
it fun.
Speaker 5 (30:05):
It made it fun, man.
Speaker 2 (30:06):
Greg Williams was the same way we had.
Speaker 6 (30:08):
I mean, we were going to a game and we
would have a number of defensive calls, you know, and
it was based off of you know, a lot of
it was based off of matchups, but motions, any type
of formations and things like that, and it was all
about honestly trying to you know, always have more than
one coming and going rushing than they had block always,
you know what I mean. So it was always some
type of disguise, always some type of communication, and we're
(30:31):
just trying to change some things.
Speaker 2 (30:32):
But I'm looking at this right now and I just
want to.
Speaker 6 (30:35):
I'm looking at this from the matchup standpoint of these
next four games that the Cowboys have, and when I'm
saying match up, I'm talking about secondary receiver matchup worse
than anything.
Speaker 2 (30:45):
So the Vikings, you got j Jeta Addison.
Speaker 6 (30:50):
That tight en and the titles all right, and they
got a decent run game every one while Aaron.
Speaker 3 (30:56):
Jones and think think about that.
Speaker 5 (30:57):
You got McCarthy.
Speaker 3 (30:59):

Thank you Tray Moore, Barritt Churches here, Anthony Dorset's here.
All three men play. The National Football League got new
instruct So boy, is anybody down bad and worse than
Washington this year to go from NFC Championship game to
three and ten? They went to Minnesota and got beat
thirty one and nothing. JJ McCarthy through three touchdown, I
(34:02):
mean J. J. Mccards was getting running down on social
media past couple of weeks at Homeboy God, he break
out three touchdown one hundred and twenty nine point three
QB rating Washington score point d q Q. It's supposed
to be a defensive guy, Guru. He already fired. He
already fired. Joe with the defensive coordinator. Yeah, he took
over the play calls.
Speaker 4 (34:21):
So Joe, he ain't even he would say he's a he.
Speaker 2 (34:26):
Wow, happened before this game. We're just happened after this.
Speaker 3 (34:29):
That happened a couple of weeks back, a couple weeks back,
and your boy Kingsbury, you know, oh see him, man,
Jay Daniels out there looking like he's struck. He came
back way too early.
Speaker 5 (34:40):
I heard the carpenter ain't got his tools.
Speaker 3 (34:42):
He went nine and twenty.
Speaker 5 (34:44):
You're trying to go out there with a dull night.
Speaker 6 (34:45):
I saw those stats, like, I didn't think he played
the whole game.
Speaker 3 (34:50):
He did.
Speaker 5 (34:52):
It was before he got hurt two for four.
Speaker 3 (34:54):
Like, yeah, he got hurt in the game, man. And
then I said, by the man, I was surprised at
Minnesota won that big. And then I'm just surprised because Washington.
Remember last week, Washington played well. It was right there
win and so that's why I picked him to win.
I'm like, well, you know what, man, I had, I
picked him by one twenty one twenty Daniels be back.
They played well last week. They went out there a minute,
(35:16):
it got handled three and ten and I got to
have a conversation with boy Ashley Larry Donelle Jones. But
he's a big Washington fan. I did an interview with
him before the season. You hated it. He's like you
just because I said, I said, man, I'm just telling
you right now, I've seen this before from you guys.
RG three. You had to hope sign and all that
kind of the guy. He had a good year. All
(35:38):
we got a guy is I said, I've seen this, man,
you just hate you. Just wait till we come to
town to day three and ten. Like RG three, your
quarterback is hurt. Now it's like, oh, you passed on
drafting drink Maine who looked like he might get it.
Don't do that day. It was just ball in last year,
(36:02):
RGIE three. What is the same thing? What r G
three on one of the division? Everybody was hyped, right,
I just repeat itself.
Speaker 4 (36:10):
He came back and was balling for a little bit
until he started getting hurt again, and everybody was like,
you get him out of the pocket and you forced
him to do this.
Speaker 5 (36:18):
It's only the second year.
Speaker 3 (36:19):
You can't Drake May got a better coach. They fined
the coach, the MAO.
Speaker 5 (36:24):
I like, I like what he was an escapegoat. Mayo
was a scapegoat.
Speaker 3 (36:29):
So if he's a scapegoat, then why is Rabel doing so.
Speaker 4 (36:32):
Wellabriel is shout out to him for doing everything he's
should be coaching.
Speaker 5 (36:37):
But what I'm going what I'm going to say is
it he's a defensive coach, Like, let's stop this.
Speaker 4 (36:43):
Like I get he's leading the helms and stuff like that,
but he's not the QB whisper. He didn't say, hey, Drake,
may let me lay these hands on you, and all
of a sudden you become the guy like I don't.
I'm not in the building, but I'm just saying, what
was you right now? I mean as a coach, he
was a defensive coach, That's what I'm saying that.
Speaker 3 (37:01):
But as a wood Ray will put on his staff
to be his offensive coordinator.
Speaker 5 (37:06):
This is true, He's charged for doing that.
Speaker 3 (37:08):
Who Mayo have.
Speaker 4 (37:10):
Is did Mayo pick his officer staff or did people
kind of say, hey, your first year head closed, you
were here, let's give us the staff.
Speaker 5 (37:20):
Like there's a lot of.
Speaker 4 (37:21):
Different things we could say that. I'm gonna just sit
here and say this. If you started your football calendar
or had your Bingo card. At the beginning of the season,
nobody was taking May Drake May over over Daniels because
when I had when I told you at the beginning
of the year, what did I say? I said, man,
watch May gonna have a year this year. He gonna
come out. It was him and JJ McCarthy. I said,
(37:43):
y'all laughed at me when I said both of those names.
Now we're talking about the MVP.
Speaker 3 (37:47):
Okay, so I go back into this right now. You're
a Washington fan. Your boy Danmi was hurt. May I
hear ball, you're gonna go tell me and go go
through your head. It always goes through your head about
who you could have had. That's just natural inclination. It's
just like girls. You used to say, Hey, man, what
I used to die? Passed on her? She blew up
and happen. I got an offensive and r G three
(38:11):
was Offensiverookie.
Speaker 5 (38:12):
She just had a couple of snickers. She just got
to work out.
Speaker 3 (38:15):
We don't know what Twig is done.
Speaker 7 (38:18):
I think he might don't know. The injury, man, that
was a tag on him coming out.
Speaker 6 (38:23):
Drake May is the injury away from us having the
same conversation about him.
Speaker 5 (38:28):
But I was happening with Drake May.
Speaker 4 (38:31):
He has a historically better organization that's going to take
care of him and put him in a better situation
as far as medical staff is another system.
Speaker 3 (38:41):
So now we're having a conversation, that's the whole thing.
Now we happened, Now we're having we were gonna last year.
This was not a conversation. That was a conversation, man.
Speaker 6 (38:49):
Jaden's Dame Jayden Daie's body of work, Heisman Trophy, coming
into the league, having the year that he had, Drake
May's first year in the league. I can't remember what
it was like, but I know the conversation was.
Speaker 3 (39:02):
And the coach got fied. Yeah, you're right, bad time
bad catching up though. Now Rayber was here, Josh mc
dan's looked like everything. I mean, I just I'm just saying.
I'm just saying, let's.
Speaker 7 (39:10):
Say Old Dix was in that class too. He falling,
you know what, Taylor Williams, I.
Speaker 5 (39:16):
Mean a lot of them.
Speaker 2 (39:20):
I know, injuries, Man, don't here, That's what I said.
Speaker 3 (39:23):
Man, having a conversation. Man, I'm just saying, you know,
you know, right now we're going to twenty twenty six.
Who you who you feel bad about? You just had
to get all right, even just something simple as your
fancy draft. Next year, you take Drake, may go take
Daniels right now. You're talking about right now next year's
healthy next year?
Speaker 5 (39:41):
Next year, So I would take me.
Speaker 3 (39:45):
I'm assumed.
Speaker 4 (39:46):
Got sitting over there, you got the young receivers, you
got the bullet and.
Speaker 2 (39:50):
Just talking about it. And we're talking about two totally
different franchises.
Speaker 3 (39:55):
You got you're gonna bet on Josh McDaniels, man, You're
gonna bet on Cliff King's Daniels in twenty twenty six?
Where you going?
Speaker 6 (40:02):
I see, I never was a Josh mc daniels paying
ever since the spy Gate and everything else.
Speaker 5 (40:06):
Like that.
Speaker 3 (40:06):
Man, he's just taking orders from the top man doing
he's doing it.
Speaker 2 (40:10):
Ain't like he got you.
Speaker 7 (40:11):
Know what I'm saying, Randy Moss out there, you know
he got.
Speaker 16 (40:16):
He ain't even starting you got you know what I mean? Yeah, yeah,
he got digs almost. It's just Sean stopped stopping both talking.
Speaker 5 (40:27):
He stopped it. He got digs.
Speaker 3 (40:29):
And I go back to my whole, my whole point
of the conversation when I started.
Speaker 5 (40:32):
He said Master.
Speaker 7 (40:34):
He said Diggs, Hey man, scary Terry. All there people saying,
I just go back to what I told my boys. Actually,
I've seen it before Washing. I've seen it happen. I've
seen it happen before Washing.
Speaker 3 (40:46):
You guys get hiked up a by the quarterback by
feeling good. They didn't want to come back and throw
salt on cowboys. Fan ain't nothing. Okay, do it again.
Let's see you do it again. Sustain it, tough league,
and now three and ten they quiet. I don't get
I don't know about you. I don't get the same
because I grew up in North Carolina's felling like my
years North Carolina. So it's a whole bunch. I've been
(41:08):
around the whole bunch of watching they I don't see
people on that my phone. Don't feel the same, no more,
mondays ain't the same, not not here from nobody now,
nobody now now like they say, now, noddle now, now
like how you say, nobody calling me, texting me asking
me how about how about them drinking? Not nothing but
(41:31):
crack nothing, Commander Tuddy, I don't hear that no more,
mister Tuddy. No man's the sacond.
Speaker 6 (41:39):
Argument they're right where they need to be for the
people in this building, Tach maybe have a chance, you
know what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (41:45):
So this is true.
Speaker 5 (41:47):
This is a week. This is a week. But that's right.
So you have to watch the game or nothing.
Speaker 3 (41:53):
So now when you start to look at how they
do when they do the records next year for the schedule,
so now here you can't go to play whoever the
second place team in the division next year versus you know,
because he too, because they can washing and Giants. I
hear him fight for last place. Top ten picks.
Speaker 13 (42:09):
Man.
Speaker 3 (42:10):
Yeah, so if you're going, if you're gonna miss the playoffs, man,
you rather.
Speaker 5 (42:14):
Got They got a young dark and Scattaboo over there.
Speaker 4 (42:17):
That bag he hurting man that might be hooking up
that truck of that trailer.
Speaker 6 (42:24):
Scattabool going to play his way out of the league.
If he think he's gonna be searching up contact.
Speaker 7 (42:28):
Like everything he goes two years and he made a
quarterback dark quarterback.
Speaker 5 (42:32):
Trip like the quarterback.
Speaker 4 (42:33):
If anything but stable, he might be able to he
might be able to pull out there and be a peyton.
Speaker 5 (42:39):
At the hellis tight guy man made it how many days?
Speaker 3 (42:41):
Like eight games and and how long did Peyton Hills last?
Especially as you got on the cover.
Speaker 4 (42:46):
He had the bag, that bag, curse that many That
was my dog in New York. Great teammate. I love
playing special teams. My guy he was who he came
in was bro.
Speaker 5 (42:58):
Was a young gun. I think that was second year,
but I know he was. You were making a couple
of touches over there.
Speaker 2 (43:04):
Didn't something happen to him? He was the coach's wives
or something like an accident like that?
Speaker 3 (43:11):
Tell you in Cleveland? I know that.
Speaker 4 (43:16):
If y'all want to tune in next time, I players undercome.
Speaker 3 (43:20):
Secrets with dirty mac Church over there. But uh, it's
Kevin Si by the way, it's Kevin Sevancy gonna get
fired for what he did. Is you do on Sanders?
Why would you do that? Why would you do?
Speaker 5 (43:31):
Led?
Speaker 3 (43:31):
You all the way back?
Speaker 4 (43:32):
You now what you know exactly what that was. That's
one of those where you try to force somebody else.
Are you controlling narrative to where you don't want that?
Speaker 3 (43:41):
The wild cat reverse throw?
Speaker 5 (43:44):
That was like as a player.
Speaker 4 (43:47):
Don't get me wrong, I said last week, I'm like, hey,
you know what you're off with Surmonder head coach. Maybe
you got out your bag and you said, hey, let
me do that, but it didn't work last week, and
you come back and do it this week. He'd have
had more time in your system week of preparation with
the old line and stuff like that. Like that's a
slap in the face. Oh you got us here, but
we want somebody else to be there.
Speaker 3 (44:07):
So let me set it up for anyone who didn't
happen to see. The Cleveland Browns are facing the Tennessee Titans.
Tennessee's that's a bad football team, and you got him
at home. Shador Sanders having a great game. Four total touchdowns,
three through the air, one rushing, they scored touchdown and
to go for the two point conversion they decided to
all of a sudden, the head coach says, come out
of the game, Shadur thanks, we're gonna give to somebody else.
(44:30):
And then they run some crazy reverse plase. Then they're
using the meme saying they took it from Henry Winkling
the water boyo.
Speaker 2 (44:41):
Right.
Speaker 3 (44:41):
So it just really wild and they end up losing
the game. And I could just say, man having covered
the Browns and lived up there, this, this, this is,
this is finishing Kevin Sedansky, in my opinion.
Speaker 2 (44:54):
He did it to himself.
Speaker 6 (44:55):
Though, yeah he really did Shador like you said, had
it a pretty good game. It wouldn't matter if he
was the first year, second year, or third year dude
he had, he had, he had a decent game.
Speaker 3 (45:06):
Tour testdowns.
Speaker 2 (45:07):
How many total yards passing.
Speaker 3 (45:09):
Almost four hundred, almost crazy.
Speaker 6 (45:12):
And so take him out the game to put to
run wildcat.
Speaker 5 (45:18):
Come on, even if you were going to do that,
you've seen the What made it so.
Speaker 4 (45:24):
Aggravating was that you've seen the scramble, You've seen the
play of like the adversity, oh, the determination. If you
go over there, he riffs the shirt off his ship.
He trucks the guy for that. So it's like it's
not like you don't you couldn't run QB Power did
this and that. But if you're gonna do something weird
like that, leave him in there, like let him die
on the sword or make the sword like that was
(45:45):
his excalibur moment and you took that away from him.
Speaker 3 (45:48):
I can't imagine Kevin Sepansky's the head coach in Cleveland
next year. I just can't.
Speaker 6 (45:52):
I can't I didn't. I didn't imagine him being the
coach right now after that.
Speaker 4 (45:56):
But you know what he knew this was if we're
being completely because this is the players longe, y'all come
to get that. I honestly personally feel I can't say
this is him, but he knew this was gonna happen
when bringing him into the building, because it's like, brou
I'm already on the hot seat. We ain't been doing
this in Cleveland. If I play you and you win,
even if I don't like you, with all the narratives
(46:17):
we have all seen them out there, then guess what
I'm making myself mad. But if I do for some reason,
wait and then you do have a little bit of success,
and it's late in the season. I'm kind of darning
if I do. Darn if I don't, because why did
not play you earlier? Why did not do this? So
it's like you made your own bed, Trey.
Speaker 3 (46:34):
Throw all that out there at the end of the game.
At the end of the day, you're trying to win
a game. Yep, no matter how you know, you play,
you know all the all three of you know what
kind of preparation it takes to go into a game,
you have an opportunity winning, and you did something that dumb.
If I if you leave him in and whatever play
you call, if it fails, you the heky man I
(46:56):
game it right right man? You done let him off.
The look everybody looking at it. You now you are
boo boo the fool out there trying to explain what
you did.
Speaker 5 (47:04):
Well, you know, we don't want to get into that.
Speaker 3 (47:06):
You're getting fired, Kevin sid You know somebody I don't
know who, you know what, somebody you may know, maybe
head coach next year, somebody who may have may have
coached with the head coach is not going to be that.
Speaker 6 (47:19):
It seems like for me, like like the Browns tried
to force the fanski's hand and okay and talk to yeah, okay,
So like we got Flacco in here, we got all
these quarterbacks here.
Speaker 3 (47:31):
You don't want to name.
Speaker 6 (47:31):
Shador as two, three or four, all right, So let
me go ahead and get one of the get rid
of one of these dudes, and let me see. Oh
but you still don't want to say that he's your
number two quarterback. So like what what what I saw
throughout this process was like, oh yeah, that that owner
he ain't fooling with him for real, And like there
there's some divide inside that building besides the stuff that's
(47:54):
going on with it's the Browns.
Speaker 3 (47:57):
So not surprised, not surprising it all right, Ad, appreciate you,
more appreciate you. Congratulations you're fighting Texas A And and
Maggiet Church wears some Toledo gear. I got, just surprise,
that's a winter gear.
Speaker 5 (48:12):
Man.
Speaker 2 (48:12):
You gotta everybody wears some college gear this week.
Speaker 5 (48:16):
Yeah, I will.
Speaker 3 (48:19):
Chris Beam verybody here. We already picked the game, Sack.
So I got Philly winning the night twenty six, twenty four. Church,
you got Philly winning twenty one, twenty tonight. Trey, you
got the Chargers getting done twenty four to twenty one.
And Ad, you got Philly with the eighteen. We're talking
about tomorrow right here on Dallas cat Eggs don Hey,
(48:39):
you have it.
Speaker 1 (48:41):
This has been a production of Dallascowboys dot Com and
the Dallas Cowboys Football Club
