Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is the fitting in with Her with Kate Richie
podcast Funerals. Oh God, I don't want to be in
the box house, not keen to be in the box.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
Also hope that there's a nice tea and coffee there
as well. When you have a couple of bikies, you
go back to someone's for the wake, someone usually does
a burnout or there's a burnout involved somehow. And he
loved his tiranas, didn't he?
Speaker 1 (00:21):
And when you know what, when they don't trim the
crusts off the chicken sandwiches, I'm furious. Plenty of Mayo
plays and drop the nuts out of your chicken sandwiches.
That's crazy stuff.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
Amantha Hunt, Amantha wats your language?
Speaker 1 (00:36):
Plays?
Speaker 2 (00:36):
A mentha? I meant meant to get that right? A
mentha Hunt. Her eighty year old uncle died and something
went wrong at the funeral. Have a listen to this
when I meet the Hunts. Eighty year old uncle passed away.
She chose Harrison Ross Mortuary to prepare them for burial.
Speaker 1 (00:54):
But when she went to view his body and she says,
it wasn't.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
Him, It was a guy land there am I uncle sup?
But it wasn't my uncle.
Speaker 3 (01:02):
What did you think? I just kept looking at him.
I don't know. I was just kept looking at him
and kept looking him like, wait a minute. He couldn't
have got that dove.
Speaker 1 (01:10):
So what he was a different shade to the original uncle?
Different domes. That's not what happens when you die.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
But in Uncle Harrison's suit.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
So they've taken what they lost the body, but somehow
had the suit. Maybe they had to do an autopsy'll
clean the body and then they redress it. But all
of a sudden there was a mixer.
Speaker 2 (01:30):
Apparently the lady at the funeral home goes, can you
just wait here, I'll just go sort this out. Three
hours later, comes back and there's the body in the
right suit. You're changed it.
Speaker 1 (01:43):
Over because he never wore this brand. It's Taro Cash.
You know, he was a versace kind of guy. And
the other bloke in the suits Mexican.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
So what about the story, I mean, what went wrong
at the funeral home? Thirteen twenty fourteen? Get involved and
anyone gets on, are you're going to the running for tea?
Speaker 3 (02:00):
Okay?
Speaker 2 (02:00):
Every day in May? But the story that we did
remember the woman that went to the funeral whip and
she rocked up to the wrong funeral and no one
was there. Yes, so she signed in at the funeral,
no one was there, and then realized, I'm at the
wrong funeral. He then gets a call a couple of
months later and says, well, that funeral that you went to.
(02:23):
That lady in her will said whoever rocks up to
my funeral can get all the money.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
That I'm leaving that I'm leaving.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
And she was the only one that rocked up, and
she did it by accident.
Speaker 1 (02:35):
Got one hundred thousand dollars or something. Moya from subtherl.
Speaker 3 (02:38):
And Hello, good morning guys.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
Hi, good Moya. What went wrong at the funeral?
Speaker 3 (02:44):
Yeah, that my cousin's funeral and my uncle was up
giving me eulogy and his sister in law's ringtone goes off. Firstly,
lets it ring for about six times, but see ringtone
is highway to hell. Oh no, anyway, she proceeds to
answer the call, stepped to the side and said, oh,
(03:05):
I'm out a funeral. Can I call you back? You're
kidding me?
Speaker 1 (03:09):
Oh my god, why would you do? You know what
the worst part about my mum when this happened, Moya,
was it was like it was in a church that
was a long pew and I don't know why, so
it was like a bench seat. I don't know why.
She left her handbag at the start of the pew,
just outside the end of it, and then walked in
(03:30):
and sat in the middle. So when the phone started ringing,
she had to get up and make her way past
everybody to get her bag to turn the phone off.
Speaker 3 (03:40):
Oh you're kidding.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
Oh, and you know the worst part too. The cloacal
that had died. They said that he'd stopped drinking a
long time ago, and the guy getting up giving the
eulogies best mate says, do you know what when Weno?
When Weno, he was such a strong man that even
just a month ago he vomited, He had his stomach
(04:02):
pumped by the ambulance. But you know what, he went
to hospital, came back and he kept drinking. That's how
much of a man Wayina was.
Speaker 3 (04:09):
So that was that's how you do it.
Speaker 1 (04:11):
