Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is the Fits and Whipper with Kate Richie podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Perfect weather for an ice bath, and you know I
love an ice bath more than anyone else around. It
just gives you a boost to get you going.

Speaker 1 (00:11):
But really, what's mate?

Speaker 2 (00:14):
Well, four degrees and I go in for five minutes time. Yeah,
and I try to meditate. So you're going to try
to breathe in for seven seconds, hold your breadth for
two seconds, and then you've got to breathe out for
seven seconds, hold for two seconds. It's very hard to do,
but you do feel great afterwards. The thing is, you

(00:37):
don't need to do a gender reveal in an ice bath.
So a couple's a couple start to do that.

Speaker 3 (00:43):
This is in Canada.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
There's actually there's ice on the top of the ice bath.

Speaker 3 (00:47):
I've had to crack it all off whip.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
They both jump into the ice bath and then there's
like a bath bomb that comes up.

Speaker 4 (00:55):
What hell is it going to beget?

Speaker 3 (01:05):
It's an ice bar, Dad, I'm not gonna get it's pink. Guys,
the ice bath went pink. It's a girl. What an

(01:26):
amazing It's a weird situation.

Speaker 5 (01:34):
The guy to paint a picture. It looks like a
hot tub at the top his frozen. He then gets
a dumb belt to smash his way through the eyes.
They're wearing smart casual clothes and then get in the tub.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
I mean you, I mean still. One of the greatest
days of my life was Eastern Creek when we went
out there and you were finding out you didn't know
this was your third child. And we had a local
who is a big fan of the show who got
into the car to do at a massive burnout to
see what gender you're about to have.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
It's been those times. What a beautiful way to find
out for the whip flip.

Speaker 5 (02:24):
Thank you for organizing that point. It was an absolute
treit as you were hanging out the window of a
car with your helmet on and the bloke blew the
ended up.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
I found out afterwards that Francesca was conceived in that
car as well.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
Which was weird. But there's been a there's been a
couple of shockers. I didn't know this one went, but last.

Speaker 4 (02:44):
Year there was one over in Mexico where a plane
was used where it was just you know where it well,
the plane dropped the pink dye from the plane and unfortunately,
as it was dropping the pink dye, the pilot lost.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
All control of the plane. The plane came down and they.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
Lost the pilot. So more die that More was that horrible?
How do you celebrate the gender reveal?

Speaker 3 (03:17):
Pilot's dead?

Speaker 2 (03:19):
And there is one that everyone does talk about. It
was that it's the mom who had three daughters already
and they decided to go with a gender revealed with
the fourth child, found out they were getting another girl,
and she just broke down in tears.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
The whole time she wanted a boy in her life.

Speaker 5 (03:37):
She was wishing she was flying the plane at that stage.

Speaker 2 (03:40):

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
