It's their second fight and Timmy and welcome to the studio.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
Here we go. Can you feel the love from Australia
for you? Yeah, I hope. So everyone's behind you, buddy,
and this is a rematch. How are you feeling about it?

Speaker 4 (00:32):
Yeah, it's It's a nice responsibility to have. I've always
sort of embraced it and every time I get on
the world stage, it's always representing your people. Here for you.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
But Timmy, I don't want you to knock me out.
But if I stand next to you, am I around
the same hid.

Speaker 3 (00:48):
As for Nora. I think he's tall.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
So I'm one hundred and ninety nine centimeters, I'm six six.
I think he's Yeah, he's taller than that.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
That's an easy body.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
Leading up to the fight. I mean, you can use
me as a punching bag if.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
You want actually fighting against tool.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
Guys to get a bit more of an idea.

Speaker 4 (01:16):
Yeah, so I brought in a few boys from from
the United States and also in New Zealand, and a
couple of local boys just like tall. Yeah, same home.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
What about afterward? How does a boxer let his hair down? Tim,
Are you one of those that likes to go through
McDonald's drive? Actually crazy afterwards? I wouldn't say too crazy.
I'd like to I like to eat out a little bit.
Some people like to get on the picks. I'm not
not much like that. Usually a lot of my friends
from overseas come to my fight, so they celebrate for

(01:49):
the reunion and then they know what to do.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
What about growing up in a boxing house? Like what
I mean? Boxing would have been from the day you
were born, obviously, But what are some of the things
you saw or even techniques your old man used to do.
There was something where he used to put his hands
into ball bearings. What was that?

Speaker 4 (02:05):
Well, look, for us, it was five fifteen am wake up,
time to go for a run. Yeah. Well not everyone.
My brother and sister copped it a little bit less.
My dad was a little bit softer with them, but yeah,
for me, it was but that's disciplined.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
I mean, when you look back now at the time
it probably you probably would have thought it was the
worst thing ever. But the discipline that you have now
of course started with me. Yeah, of course.

Speaker 4 (02:27):
And I remember I lost in my cross country run
when I was in year three and I came back
and my dad was like ashamed of me, you know,
like that I came second.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
It's cross country.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
Country first loser.

Speaker 4 (02:43):
That's when the alarm bell started running five fifteen am.
I'll never forget it. And then yeah, it came first
ever since to me.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
I mean, you've got a bit of a team where
you can see them in the news booth there. I
don't know if you've bought a gear with you, but
I'm just thinking apparently was a big guy. Well yeah,
fits you put your hand up before it would makes sense.
I was only joking kind of practice or warm up.

Speaker 4 (03:04):
Now, now you hold the body, Tim, Tim, Have you
ever copped a liver punch on the Yeah, I have.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
And it is horrificus liver punch in the ring the
body should you'll be okay.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
Can we get that on?

Speaker 2 (03:20):
Okay?

Speaker 3 (03:21):
So this is the body shield, So this is what
your trainer will wear. The whole team's laughing at this.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
So where are you aiming for in the body shop?

Speaker 4 (03:30):
For you, I like to go on the left hand,
So that's that.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
So that's that's up into the ribs.

Speaker 4 (03:38):
Yes, the liver kidney.

Speaker 3 (03:41):
Timmy, do you also get the right?

Speaker 4 (03:43):
The right?

Speaker 3 (03:44):
Okay?

Speaker 5 (03:48):
Which is just?

Speaker 3 (03:50):
Which is yeah?

Speaker 1 (03:51):
Okay?

Speaker 3 (03:52):
So the sternum is where you can win someone, isn't that?
That's the wind?

Speaker 1 (03:56):
So Timmy, if I'm calling out things like one too, okay.

Speaker 5 (04:00):
Okay, what down a little bit?

Speaker 3 (04:07):
What?

Speaker 1 (04:07):
Okay? Singles? Three puns fall? That last one nearly slip
below the belt.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
Actually when it takes your breath away very quickly.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
But then you get a copper coup more.

Speaker 4 (04:30):
But you're lucky you got the body. Shoot on imagine
without the body. My god.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
This is the Fitting In with Her with Kate Richie podcast,
A bit of a trade in the studio, Andy Lee,
welcome once again, buddy. Nice to be honored to have
you in in these wild times outside. I mean, you're
angry you missed the singles party last night. You're actually engaged.
You have a girlfriend, married her.

Speaker 3 (04:56):
The date knowing she's obviously this I.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
Married it's written on your shirt.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
Mate, Can I or just talking of his shirt which
is his jumper? But this is love because is it
true that brought you a jumper just for your press interviews?

Speaker 3 (05:13):
Today? You're junk You know, this is the kind of
girl we're going to marry. I said, I've got interviews
and press for the animation coming up, because yeah, I
bought you some cool like cool and more fun jumpers
for the animation.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
So she wasn't happy with your what you assume.

Speaker 3 (05:29):
Is never happy. What I'm talking about.

Speaker 1 (05:31):
Is that a tiger cub and knit a tiger.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
Tigger from Winnipoo.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
That is beautiful, that's really cute.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
She's setting a big, a huge standard if she's buying
you just for a press junket, I mean, she's got
to live up to that all the time.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
I hope. So I hope we're setting something the groundwork
for the next fifty years.

Speaker 1 (05:51):
Beutifore she cares for you.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
Mate.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
Now, can we talk about the show, because I know
how obsessed my kids with these books? All right, so
your books the huge How many countries are they sold in?

Speaker 3 (06:02):
I don't know how many countries there in thirty five languages, unbelievad.
So yeah, there'd be a bunch of countries that this book.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
It was just massive, And I've set you videos of
us me reading it with the kids and the whole
do not turn the next page, do not turn this page,
and the kids are freaking out. Okay, don't you have to, dad,
go on, what's there now? It's a TV show? Yes, awesome,
because you've been working a bum off on this. Yeah, yeah,
it's been a while.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
It's funny like that idea of like, you know, kids
being too scared, are not brave enough to keep going
with the books. That was a bit harder to capture
the TV show because you know, parents normally read with
their kids. Yeah, when it comes to watching a show,
they plunk them in front of it and they go
off and do something else because it's that little bit
of respite for parents, And so we needed to develop

(06:46):
a character to kind of be that sure thing and
help them through because some kids do get scared while
watching it. And Denise Scott plays a tortoise, which is
just this time of lifetime. Yeah exactly. She thrilled, but
she's that helping, trusting hand. I don't think there's any
better voice to be able to help kids through it.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
Oh, can we have a listen? We've got a bit
of the trailer that way. Jess, excuse me?

Speaker 3 (07:11):
What are you doing?

Speaker 5 (07:13):
You can see from the sign over there you're not
meant to be watching this show. There are plenty of
things you can watch, but this show is not one
of them. Instead, you could watch that.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
Rock So what other voices?

Speaker 3 (07:30):
Dave Hughes plays a goblin. Naturally, Well, hell's the best thing.
He comes into the recording studio and he goes, you
know what, what voice do you watch for your brilliant
voice work voices?

Speaker 1 (07:49):
You're angry and you swear on social media a.

Speaker 5 (07:52):
Lot, exactly what you want.

Speaker 3 (07:54):
I was really surprised, and he thought that I was
going to try and test his right.

Speaker 1 (07:59):
What do you want from me?

Speaker 4 (08:00):
Alright?

Speaker 1 (08:02):
Al night.

Speaker 3 (08:03):
Joel Creasy plays a sassy lime great yeah lyman key.
We are two kind off side. Remember remember the old
guys in the Muppets? Yes, yes, that and Waldorf. Yeah,
it's kind of the new version of that limon key.
We sit on the side and just make quips all
the time.

Speaker 1 (08:18):
I love that.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
And then this heaps the cameos. Glenn Robins plays my
dadge flakes in there, Broden Kelly, Chrissy Swan carried big
more this.

Speaker 4 (08:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (08:29):
I was just trying to grab this is great.

Speaker 1 (08:31):
So we're out on Friday.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
Yes, do not watch it on Friday.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
I do not watch it.

Speaker 4 (08:35):
Guys.

Speaker 3 (08:36):
This has taken a long time to put together, isn't it?
Animation is so slowly? What are we going to do?
One episode?

Speaker 2 (08:44):
Andy?

Speaker 3 (08:45):
Normally it's on a little conveyor belt. But I would
say about nine months for eleven minutes. My god, I know,
but when you're watching it, don't think that none months.

Speaker 1 (09:01):
Oh man? Can we talk about the pub in New York?

Speaker 3 (09:03):
I love you too, because it's been one of the
joys this year for me. Isn't it funny how that's
a dream? How people want to leave Australia.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
Go to New York and then go and try Sitz
in New York because it's Australian menu, isn't it?

Speaker 3 (09:19):
Yeah? Old mates, Yeah, there was, well when we were
in twenty eleven when Ham's not doing Gap year. Yeah, there,
I think there was six ozsie venues there were't all
like strong Aussie themed and then there was zero and
so we thought we better fix that. Because you need
a place to go and watch the AFL or the
NRL or I watched Matilda's win and the pom so

(09:39):
we embarked on that. We created old mates and it's
just been so much fun.

Speaker 1 (09:43):
Can I ask, because it looks like someone has recently
moved in by the no Ah Jack money. Every time
you're over there, it's just out the front of the pub.
And what I mean, what's he doing? Is he doing
like cheap taco nights on Tuesday?

Speaker 3 (09:58):
He does bins, bussy and bins. And then you eventually
funny you say that because when I was trying to
raise money for it, and we thought it'd be funny
to get Iconic extrainers money and all these guys were
meant to be silent partners and I was slowly working
through and obviously Haim said yes for really, Paddy Cummens
said said yes. Mick Fanning was first in. Actually I

(10:21):
ring Fano and I said, hey, man, I'm doing a pub.
You know, we just thought it'd be fun for Iconic
because in I was like, I said, oh, well, can
you just forward me to your finance team so I
can work out the particulars you're talking to him, and

(10:44):
so I was adding people to this WhatsApp and it
was just the WhatsApp of the partners, which turns out
to be quite an amazing bunch of peck with Ash Bardi,
Pack Cummins, Paddy Mills, Mick Fanning, Harish myself, we're just
kind of holding in the hanging in there. I think
the others are far more. But when I added Hugh Jackman,
as I said, Wolverine just come out with Deadpool, and

(11:04):
I'm like, I'm just adding an actor. He's got to
move out of the moment. Not surevious any good, Please
don't bring it up, you know, And everyone's like, welcome
to you, welcome you, and Pat Comes this great wrote
it's great to have someone on the ground in New
York to take out the bins, etc.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
Not even a welcome.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
Do you know what out of everyone in their group,
Pack Comes is the only one that could get away
with that.

Speaker 1 (11:24):
Yeah. I love the idea that you could walk in
there and it would feel like if Hugh Jackman's not there,
well there would be a seat at the bar or
something to suggest that that's a Jackman spot.

Speaker 3 (11:33):
Well, I mean, what's been really exciting is a strange
now going through New York go oh, we'd like to
do something there. And we got lucky with Dom Dollas
reaching out the opening night and saying, hey, I'm playing
Madison Square Garden the next two nights. I could do
something at your pub before and I really love what
you're doing. And so that set this platform of you
never know what you're going to see. We just announced
a huge Australian act who's going to play will get

(11:57):
there as well, DJing, Yeah, the Wiggles are playing this week.
I just hadn did they.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
DeNiro wrapped up with his daughter, I think his eighth daughter.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
They might turn up to old mates.

Speaker 3 (12:12):
Well, that's the fun thing. It's it's nice. We didn't
put any pressure on any of the partners that I
meant to be silent, but I got to start getting
text on the WhatsApp going how you can mention me?
It's okay, and so the venue fund that way.

Speaker 1 (12:22):
Let everyone know, please.

Speaker 3 (12:24):
But Jackman's really embraced it. Been in a few times
in the last few weeks, and last Wednesday he was
he took in Edward Norton and lifts driver. Yeah, which is.

Speaker 1 (12:35):
Pretty Hey, what's the number one selling dish. At the
moment out of the.

Speaker 3 (12:40):
Huge argument on the Watson realized to whether we call
it a parma or a parmi. Ash Barty was hell
being at being a parmia because.

Speaker 1 (12:47):
It runs with Barty. That's what she wanted. That's all
we might have suggested shareholders, Whipper was Kate Ritchie is
