Speaker 1 (00:00):

Speaker 2 (00:03):
The Big Man.

Speaker 1 (00:04):
He's round round two in the studio Kate Richie. The
recommend for the Sidneys ones. Brody Grundy, Welcome Bydy.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
It's good to be in this morning. It's really good.

Speaker 1 (00:14):
To be we're joining you would have naturally woken up
this early. I mean you didn't set your arm to
come in here?

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Did you? How to pappen my step this morning?

Speaker 3 (00:22):
I feel a bit bad dragging you in here at
this at this time, because you've you've wandered him saying
that you've got a big day of training.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
Yeah. Well funny because last time I was in here,
I actually forgot to tell Horse, our senior coach. I
was going on radio, and first thing when I rocked
up to do the warm up, he said, excuse me,
you must have been up way too early to jump
on the radio. So I had to make sure I
really got it across because you had to.

Speaker 3 (00:46):
Run it past him. Oh that's nice to hear that.
He's a listener.

Speaker 4 (00:49):
What's his name?

Speaker 2 (00:50):
Give him of the show?

Speaker 3 (00:54):
Hi's the horse.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
The other day who was watching from the Swani's And
I was just laughing because it was obviously their turn
to do media throughout the week. Oh my god, about
a mental blank, No, it wasn't.

Speaker 3 (01:10):
He Where did you say? What was he doing?

Speaker 1 (01:12):
Millie's cousin number nine, who's number nine?

Speaker 2 (01:17):
At a mental Blankwood?

Speaker 1 (01:22):
Daywood was doing media and it was almost like he
just didn't he wasn't taking it seriously. He had to
do something to do with the school.

Speaker 3 (01:31):
What with the kids in the school. That's when you've
got to take it seriously.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
Absolutely, so do you what when that happens? Do you
get them Did you get a roll out that happens
if it's your media week, do you get a roll
out from the Monday and what you need to do
that week?

Speaker 2 (01:43):
I mean, well, we have a full time team. That's
that's whole job is to try and usher these guys
into into getting on.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
The micing wrangle, yeah, and not.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
Saying the wrong thing. So sometimes it could be a
you know, a deer in the headlights, get a little intimidated.
But it's all in good fun, isn't it.

Speaker 4 (02:03):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (02:03):
I think that for you though, I mean when you're
in the sheds or you know, wherever you are, there
are the sheds. You laugh again, what do you call
them the sheds. Yeah, is that an NRL whatever? Anyway,
shut up with you've thrown me now. I don't even
know when you're talking about, like the list of pr

(02:24):
that you get allocated. I mean, surely they're all in
there thinking, God Brodie, he's so lucky he gets to.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
Do the fits. Ye. True, my word it is. And
obviously we have such a great legacy and a tide
of this to the Sydney Swans with old mate who's
not with us this morning. Let him go.

Speaker 3 (02:45):
That's interesting that you bring him up because the fact
that he's not here. We I mean, firstly, we just
were scrambling at what to ask you or what to say.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
We're not allowed to talk.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
We're finally amongst friends.

Speaker 3 (02:57):
I know it's not out apartment, but we would like
to know when you come in here and you're a yeah,
do you know who Fitz is? Just who you are?

Speaker 2 (03:12):
It's a good question.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
You do know he's playing football? And like you do
you mention him at the Swans or does he just
think that.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
He does come up from time to time not alsation.
I think his biggest legacy was wiring the stereo in
the old SCG change room so that lives on, and
young Errol Gordon loves to sort of thrash some E
D M on that. Okay, it lives on.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
And then I mean he's an Adelade Crow supporter too.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
You must remember that Corich.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
I mean there was time but the Swans, don't get
me wrong. But then he failed in adelaide as well.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
Say hey, you mean Brody.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
No, I'm talking about fits. Yeah, yeah, I know it
was a mess at the Crows. Now, Brody, this is
a little bit off football. But when you play. When
w S the other day and we knew you were
at Energie Stadium, Kate was like, oh my god, it
gets cold out there. I hope he's not going to
get cold. Kate was really worried about that.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
Yeah, how do you combat the coldness?

Speaker 2 (04:11):
Yeah? And I'm not ashamed to say this, but I
was worrying what year fives would wear to score, Like
a little skivvy.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
A little skivvy on?

Speaker 2 (04:19):
Did mummy put it on my bed in the morning?

Speaker 1 (04:22):
An undergarment?

Speaker 2 (04:23):
Yeah? And you know what I'm you know, I'm fully
comfortable to say that I were a little undergarment And do.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
You take it? Do you take it off? Halftime or something, don't.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
Yeah, and preparations everything in high performance sports. So did
I bring a second one in case it got wet?
And did you damn yes? Okay, you bought it two
for one. Okay, so you've done this before.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
Kate was so concerned she thought, oh my god, he's
heading out west. He's going to freeze the poor lad.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
But you did have a good game against g w S.
We thought they might step up a little more.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
Yes, No, it was a good game. It was close
for the first first quarter. We managed to sort of
stay in the arm wrestle there, and we seem to
be flying at the moment, which is great.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
Hey, how good is it watching Pappley?

Speaker 2 (05:09):
Just get the ball to him and let him go.
I'll tell you what, he'd be great on this show.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
Would you know what? I think? We had him on
once and he rang his dad to say that he
was going to quit AFL because he'd got a sponsorship
deal with a betting agency, and I reckon his dad
was driving a tractor at the time, And thank god
we pre recorded it because if you'd heard the language
his old man.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
Yeah, I mean, you never know what you're going to get.
You never know what you're going to get. But that's
the excitement of tom Pley. It was, but he's been electric. Kate, Richie,
this guy kick him fro anywhere.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
I know Lucky you said it because I was about to.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
Yeah, just get the ball up, Papily and you're on. Okay,
Shane and Penrith, Hello, Hello, Hell are you good?

Speaker 2 (05:52):
We got Brady Grundy here, mate?

Speaker 1 (05:53):
You got a question for the big man.

Speaker 4 (05:54):
Oh. First of all, I just want to thank the
Swans because they've really yep and they've cleaned up in
Mamultis this year with putting the Swans in there, So
thank you very much, Berti and the team. Brodie, is
there any you know, with all the success you've had,
is there any really good celebrations you've had post game?

Speaker 2 (06:16):
Great question? Well, to be honest, we're trying to be
a really humble group at the moment because we know
that we know the chips are up at the moment,
but at any point of the season things can turn,
so we try to stay as humble as we can.
But having said that, this group does celebrate. You've got
to enjoy the fruit of your labor. And as I
said before, Eror Gordon. We'll get on the deck, so

(06:37):
he'll play some He'll play some music I've never heard
before in my life, as I'm now a fossil and
the team.

Speaker 3 (06:44):
So yeah, do you treat yourself to a new singlets
or something?

Speaker 2 (06:47):
Yeah, you know, just a nice wine by the fire
something like that. But yeah, no, it's great. Hard to know.

Speaker 3 (06:55):
Whether to celebrate or not because when you you know,
you are doing very well and people await, I guess,
and there must be a building pressure. So I'm sure
you want to celebrate the success, but you don't want
to get ahead of yourself.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
Yeah, I mean, you know, without being stereotypical, but I
will be. I mean, it's sticking to the process. It's
being process driven and we're trying to do that as
a team.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
Media week, trust the process. Hey, Shane, we're going to
give you an entire road to go see the Swans
take on Frio this weekend.

Speaker 4 (07:24):
Thank you very much, Joe, looking forward to it.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
That's awesome.

Speaker 3 (07:28):
Yeah, it's the way to see it.

Speaker 1 (07:29):
I mean, do you do you've got a Vegas trip planned?
I mean, if you're win the GF, do you.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
Know what you will not see me in Vegas?

Speaker 3 (07:37):
What a great ad.

Speaker 1 (07:38):
Can I tell you this just quickly, Tommy, I know
where short on time? Jude Bolton right, he said the
Swans went to Vegas and they were in a booth
next to the guys from LMFAO. Have you heard the story?
And Bolton said that they got some bottles of champagne
be Red Food.

Speaker 3 (07:57):
Yeah, you're talking about Red.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
Food and sky Blue or whatever the other guy's name was.
And they were shaking the bottles, dude and the guys
and spraying them everywhere, and they were going champagne showers. Anyway, LMFA.
I heard Bolts and the guys doing this. I went
Champagne shower and they started cheering Champagne showers. Six months later,

(08:22):
song comes out, Champagne Showers.

Speaker 3 (08:25):
Shampao, No way, you made that up up?

Speaker 2 (08:27):
True.

Speaker 3 (08:28):
So you're saying that Jude Bolton is walking around Sydney
telling everybody that he.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
Started showers and then he was there with elm having shots.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
If we got the shots and they're just.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
That part I made up. I made that bet up
because they didn't go that hard that night, But champagne
shower story.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
Is apparently true. Take I'll do some reconnaissance and I'll
get tell them back on I'll confirm that story for Brady.

Speaker 1 (08:54):
Stay warm, I will. Good luck against Freeo. Mate, thanks
for coming in.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
Thank you.
