This is the Fitting and Whipper with Kate Richie podcast.

You've been in the well, I'll tell you what I've
been in the gym. And I don't really like to
talk to people in the gym. I put my AirPods on,
I'll listen to a podcast, listen to music, and I
switch off. But you know when people come over and
they want to have a bit of a chat, I
struggle with it. But this old guy pricked up my ears, Whip,
what did you want to talk about?

This spun me out massively. He goes, hello, Ryan, you
wouldn't remember me, would you help? And I said, I'm sorry, sir,
I've got no idea. He would have been in his seventies, whip,
and I thought, great effort to be at the gym,
first of all, to keep yourself moving. He said, I'm
retired now, but I spent around about six months with you,
and I was like, what about going on? He said,

I served you at Centerlink when you first come out
of place, whether you were ripping off the government, I
was there. Do you know what he remembered as well?
With he goes, do you know what I remember about you?
He said, I remember one time you put down as
your two jobs that you were searching for. You put
down Centerlink and I said to you, you, well, why have

you put down Centalink? And you said, well, I asked
you for a job and you didn't give me. So
he's got a good eye for a good life. Oh
he's retired now, Yeah, but I would.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
Deal the highlight of his career. I was like, that
is a great effort for him to remember, because that
isn't a thirty odd years ago.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
He would have seen you and all your mates.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
He would have been like a school teacher watching you
guys come in and girl another funny excuse.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
What an absolute loser as well.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
I couldn't find the time to go and find another job,
so I would just write down Centerlink as the job
that I asked for. So once again, Sarah, I'm asking
for a job here at Centerlink if you got one.
