Sailor Overboard Found Alive After Swimming For 24 Hours

Guys, this is an unbelievable story. I don't know if
you saw it at the end of the week last week.
Need to talk about it about the Vietnamese guy that
was found in the water in the ocean, in the
middle of the ocean. Two local fishermen who they just
went off for a bit of a fish and they
found this guy out of nowhere. Haven't listened to this story.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
The Vietnamese man was on board Double Delight leaving South
Korea on October twenty first. After two weeks at sea,
eight kilometers out from Newcastle, he was gone. The search
was extensive, but it was doctor Glen Villaire out fishing
who caught more than just his dinner.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
My friend says to me, Glen Glenn, there's someone in
the water, and like, no, it shouldn't be anyone in
the water out here. If he didn't put his hand up,
I don't think we would have seen.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
Him waiting open water for more than eighteen hours. He
was exhausted, famished and freezing cold.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
Out there for nineteen hours. He wasn't even waving his
arm to the boat. That's how gone. He was like
he was still alive, only just he had a slight pulse,
but he was gone. And these guys fishing just happened
to see something floating in the water. They've pulled this
guy in and they've taken him to boat Rowers Reserve

(01:21):
at Blacksmith Beach in Swansea. This was a Friday night,
six thirty. The New South Wales Ambulance met them there,
got this guy up. He was treated for hypothermia, exhausted,
unable to speak, but he had. They found his ID
wallet and a pack of cigarettes inside a sealed plastic

bag that was strapped to him. So the question is
did he do that himself or did somebody strap this
stuff to him and push him off the boat. It's
a great question.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
I mean, if the cigarettes weren't there, I would suggest
somebody else has done that to id him. Why would
anybody include the cigarettes if not for him? But he's
going all right, got my idea and stuff. I'll need
that to get around and I'll tell what I bloody
love guys. That's a gasper. We know what those getting wet? Yeah,
I love a sportstick.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
So he was wearing a life checkert but it was.
He was in there for nineteen hours freezing cold. I
mean the thought of sharks in that as well out of.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
The ocean, don't even Yeah, maybe he thought he could
swim to shore eight ks did he did?

Speaker 2 (02:27):
He want to get off the ship himself, and he
strapped himself the ID, the wallet and the pack of cigarettes.
But the doarries the dories is the real weird one
for me is if you lighten up a smoke in
the middle of the od. No, but you wait, You've
got a big swim swim ahead of you, and what
are you going to want after you? Mate? Cakes?

Speaker 3 (02:46):
It might be right fits maybe it was smart and
what we're not what we're realizing. He didn't have a flair,
but he wanted a smoke signal. So he just thought,
if I can burn through a packet of Flight of
starvingson more, then someone should see it.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
I just chucked. It's just he's it's a swim for it.
So the question is did he strap his ID in
wallet and the de garpers gaspers to himself or did
somebody else do it? And then he's fallen off that boat.
Did he jump off the bat he did it? Do

Speaker 3 (03:19):
What's interesting to listen to the news story. It made
it sound when they said the fishermen caught more than
they expected.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
It sounded like they were going and there.

Speaker 3 (03:29):
I got one air and I got like Kenny's are running,
Kings are running. I know, I know I've got.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
When the news has just like a funny one line's
not big enough throwing back in, We're gonna believe what
I've caught.
