Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is the Fitting and Whip with Kate Richie podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
You do have to think sometimes what's going through a
person's brain circular key every weekend. Chocker's right. So you
and what a beautiful part of the word is it?
Not one of the greatest hues on earth?

Speaker 3 (00:16):
Swanny, magical, straordinary. Every time you see it, you're like, Okay,
I get it. This is why this is an international city.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
Ah, And it's magnificent there. There's some beautiful vantage points.
You've got the opera house there as well, and if
you're lucky enough, you'll have a huge cruise ship that
will rock up in front of you and take your
whole view away. But we know when the cruise ships
do arrive and they more at the International Overseas Terminal there.
I mean, it's huge just to see. Like even my
kids are fascinated by the ropes that they use ye

(00:48):
to actually more with like how them, how thick they
are and the guy that sort of lassoes it off
and then they do it big not in there is
it a granny ny.

Speaker 4 (00:58):
I admire it. Even with the ferries. When you see
the ferry come in an old matle flip the rope
in some sort of half hitched doubles not.

Speaker 3 (01:08):
And I love that even though it's twenty twenty five,
it's still just a rope and and not.

Speaker 4 (01:14):
Yes it is. How can we do it better? We
don't need to. We just tie it with a rope.
It is.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
That's with perfection.

Speaker 4 (01:20):
Yeah, we've got twine.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
I look at it and I'm fascinated by it, and
I go, Wow, we're so lucky to witness this is
just amazing, unless you're this guy who on the weekend
decided to scale the rope and climb from the shore
and try to get onto the boat.

Speaker 4 (01:38):
I mean it's dragging himself upside down. So it looked
like something out of Ninja Warrior, and you would have
thought it was part of some festival. Is this an
early vivid pe saw?

Speaker 3 (01:50):
I feel like I've done that suspended over a gorge
in South Africa on I'm a celebrity getting out.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
You may have done Swanny, you have to. Whipp has
done it as well, which, with his year of heights,
was one of the worst days of his life.

Speaker 4 (02:02):
But I think the prize for this guy was free
accommodation in a prison cell. The idiots losing his shoes
I mean, make sure you've got the right shoes on
before you scale a rope.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
I'm gonna hold you up there. That's what we need
to talk about. Because he scaled it in a pair
of thongs. See he's got thongs on.

Speaker 4 (02:20):
He's got the double pluggers on, double pluggers.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
And do anything in thongs. And he tried to run
in thongs. It's degree of difficulty four hundred.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
Okay, So this is why I love Australia. So you
don't think circular key. The amount of phones that are
out recording the view that they have is unbelievable. So
when this guy started scaling the ropes to get onto
the cruise ship, everybody's phones come out. Now these are
the two I only saw two videos, and I mean,
this is why I love Australia, because you need commentary

(02:51):
with your video. This was the first guy videotaping it
Spider Man Friend Spider so he's done the Spider Man theme,
which that's what you go for. When the guy who
went sing so good, it's so good, so good. The

(03:12):
second one is when the guy got arrested and he
was pulled in, so you've got arrested handcuffs her on
he's being walked away and this guy films this. Well
done for not.

Speaker 4 (03:23):
Losing the thongs, mate, that's a big effort.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
Pick press.

Speaker 4 (03:29):
He picked up on it very early. Is it from
Kingsford who's given us a call?

Speaker 1 (03:36):
Hello?

Speaker 4 (03:37):
Kira?

Speaker 1 (03:37):
Hello?

Speaker 3 (03:38):
Hi? How are you you?

Speaker 4 (03:39):
Actually there? Were you saw this spider Man?

Speaker 3 (03:43):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (03:43):
Yeah, that's the MTA with my kids and we walked
out and there was a big crowd and we just
looked over and there was this guy scaling up this throat.
It was the most bizarre to start with.

Speaker 4 (03:57):
Because it's quite a few buskers down there. I would
have thought, do I throw twenty cents in his hat?

Speaker 1 (04:01):
Or I mean, yeah, that's right, throwing out to the ocean.
I don't know, but I mean it was very impressive
about him having those songs on. And Kira, do you think.

Speaker 3 (04:12):
It's a bit un Australian that he got arrested? I
feel like all's fair there.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
I totally think that's an Australian. I mean, he shouldn't
be arrested songs in the world.

Speaker 4 (04:25):
Kira did the police because I can imagine the police
turning up going, who's going to get this idiot off
the rope? So did he just naturally come back when
he realized he couldn't hold on anymore?

Speaker 3 (04:34):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (04:34):
Yeah, I think he was probably a bit embarrassed, just exhausted.

Speaker 4 (04:37):
So I think he was down in tracksit pants too well.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
All in a pair of songs, there's a there's a
TV show and this.

Speaker 4 (04:44):
Isn't there some sort of Olympic games?

Speaker 2 (04:46):
I just want to actually it is. I'm a celebrity, basically,
isn't it you do it over theen? In a pair
of it was?

Speaker 3 (04:52):
I hope there was a big bowl of ostro Janus
for him.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
