Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is the Fitting and Whip with Kate Richie podcast. Hey,
a bit of an interesting chat I had with my
wife over the weekend. I'm revealing a little bit more
about everything.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
You're right, I mean, we just heard the Nathan Cleary
Mary Fowler rumors. Is there a headline coming out on
the Daily mar Yeah.
Speaker 1 (00:17):
First they'll describe what I'm wearing, and then they'll get
in front of me looking down and say his life's over,
and I'll have to deal with that. Wait for the
comments section and have a bit of a laugh. Who
is he?
Speaker 3 (00:27):
Never heard of him?
Speaker 1 (00:28):
Why are you riding this crap? Who Oh? Anybody around
the age and I'm talking to the sisterhood here around
the age of forty onwards. There's a thing called menopause
which can take place in Perry. Menopause is very much
a topic of conversation in my wife's world at the moment.
(00:50):
She is Howard's lesa Tommy, what do you reckon? Lovely Li?
Speaker 3 (00:53):
So forty two?
Speaker 2 (00:56):
What are you reckon?
Speaker 1 (00:57):
When's her birthday? First?
Speaker 4 (01:00):
Over?
Speaker 1 (01:00):
Yeah? Yeah, she's a memory, she's a mar Yeah that's right, March. Yeah,
thanks mane. Hey, let me know what you're giving her
this year. Yeah. Anyway, the conversation was up and we
were talking about how tough menopause is, and you know,
for somebody going through menopause, it affects everybody differently, but
you know, you can go on for ten years and
(01:22):
it's a level of depression and I think a lot
of people don't understand it. But in the menopause phase.
With that, I said to Lisa said, oh, I'm scared
that I'm going to be I'm going to change as
a person around the house. And I said, all right,
well I can help you out there. Why don't we
do a deal when you're going through menopause.
Speaker 3 (01:44):
I'll do a deal.
Speaker 1 (01:45):
You can go to a health retreat for one week
out of every month, right, what so you can catch
your breath. Then I had a moment for one week
out of every month. Very generous.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
That is an believable get.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
Then I said, well, who's going to do things here?
And what about me? And then I said, okay, well
I'll have a girlfriend that can step in for that
week so they can do sort of the girl duties
and be part of my life for that week, and
then you come back. She moves out, and then we
continue on for the next three weeks. What like a nanny.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
But it's all nice.
Speaker 1 (02:24):
It's a girlfriend, have a girlfriend anyway, this is mom.
I mean I was a little bit hypothetical, like I'm
joking around a little bit. She leans over with her
hand and says, deal, now, I don't want a girlfriend.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
We're just getting a health retreat every three weeks.
Speaker 3 (02:42):
Mate. Yeah, but hang on a minute. Shouldn't she be
worried about me and the other girl? How very quickly
the health retreat became more powerful than her concern about
her husband with another woman.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
Imagine if that was reversed and I said, yeah, a bloke,
another blow can move in for a week while I'm
gone over my dead body, Like there's absolutely no way
I'm letting another man play my role in my house
with my wife and family. She within three seconds handout deal.
(03:21):
What but it's not.
Speaker 2 (03:23):
It's not like she's a woman's coming in to take
over that. What's happening in the bedroom?
Speaker 1 (03:28):
Yes she is.
Speaker 3 (03:29):
That's a girlfriend.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
Oh so that was part of the deal.
Speaker 3 (03:33):
Was Well, it's a girlfriend.
Speaker 1 (03:34):
It's intimate, so.
Speaker 3 (03:35):
It's an open relationship, all the duties.
Speaker 1 (03:38):
Well for a week only though, fits She comes home early,
it's going to throw everything if you have a deal
in your relationship, and maybe it's a little bit different
to the conventional marriage. Maybe there's a few rounded edges
or a little bit loose here and there.
Speaker 2 (03:52):
Love Zara's Zara's given us a girl from Campbell twent.
Tell us about your unusual relationship rules.
Speaker 4 (03:58):
Sarah, We've been together probably eleven years now, and we
don't live together, and we have no plans on living together.
We're basically married, but there is no no plans on
living together.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
Oh so what are the living arrangements then, Zara? How
often would you spend time at his house?
Speaker 4 (04:20):
Probably about three times a week, okay?
Speaker 1 (04:24):
And do you have dinner together most nights?
Speaker 4 (04:27):
No? And sometimes if we feel like it.
Speaker 1 (04:30):
Yeah, why haven't you moved in together?
Speaker 4 (04:33):
Because, like you talk about the menopause thing, I'm scared
of that as well, like I'm scared of the boots
and also like we have different lives, like I have children,
and yeah, it's not not any big deal, but just
because are like the way that I live in.
Speaker 1 (04:52):
He Max places, Zarah, no rules, absolutely our rules and
no judgment. No rules.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
Then, Zarah, what if he Zarah? What about other partners.
I mean, have you had a conversation about that?
Speaker 4 (05:05):
No, Like there's one hundred trust in the relationship, it
would be together too long. We're like, we're married, but
we're just not conventional.
Speaker 3 (05:13):
See.
Speaker 1 (05:14):
I met an American guy the other day, Zarah. He
lives in New York, happily married. His wife lives in
la Of course he's happily married. Probably well, I think
so they just have different the different stages of their lives.
They love each other and they spend weeks together when
it both works for them. But that's how they do things.
Speaker 4 (05:36):
That's exactly right. It's love, but it's just a different way.
Speaker 1 (05:40):
It's a different kind of love.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
I don't know what you want to be with the
one that you love all the time, though, don't you
go through the height.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
If you can't be with the one you love love
the one you're with you know?
