I just love Fitzy's commitment because I know that one
of your songs which went through the roof was I
Ain't Worried from Top Gun and Fitzy is wearing a
top Gun Maverick promotional jacket this morning.
Speaker 3 (00:39):
I see I'm a future pilot, Ryan, I'm a future
pilot And I do love that movie. I love that song.
Congratulations Now it is its mate. We're very excited to
have you back in Australia. You've picked peak summer February
next year. Mate, What a time to be alive in Australia.
We can't wait to have you back.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
Ryan.
Speaker 3 (00:57):
You excited?
Speaker 1 (00:58):
Oh my god? Yeah, I'm We're ecstatic. Australia is goes
out saying is one of my favorite countries in the world.
It's also kind of easy because if you live in California,
the like going to Australia, you feel like you're in
a cleaner, more well run version of your home state.
(01:18):
So it's like it's like, I mean, I'm thure you
guys have your own problems too, but like we live
in a zombie apocalypse half the time here, so I'm
like waiting for one of these guys to bite me,
to like bite me on the leg while I get coffee.
Speaker 3 (01:31):
Roan build a studio, he come and live here with us.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
We'd love to have you, trust me. Have you seen
any I mean, I don't know if you've seen I'm
not I'm not really like a pessimistic person, but like
one time I went down a rabbit hole on like
what happens if World War three happens. Here's what happens
if world Here's what happens if nuclear war ever happens.
The future. I tell my kids all the time, like
what's it going to be like in a thousand years?
I say, in a thousand years, everyone's going to have
an Australian accent because the only people that will survive
(01:58):
full fallout is Australian is Australian Zealand. So last night
I was googling can you buy Australian citizenships?
Speaker 3 (02:05):
Ywesome?
Speaker 2 (02:06):
When you get him, mate, we'll sit down and we'll
sort something out. We know that.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
Wrong, Let me up with the Prime Minister.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
Yeah, we can do that.
Speaker 3 (02:14):
Have you seen the footage of Kevin from time im Parla.
He's recording his first album in a speakers or one
of his albums in a speakers and he's in that
beach house in Western Australia and he goes from instrument
to instrument and he has a drink in between each instrument,
recording a song. That's what you could have at any
(02:35):
stage of your list, Miss Contenda, trust me.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
Like I've seen, I've seen the Kevin Parker videos of
him doing that. I've seen Daniel Johns not leave his
house for twenty years and like good place that he records,
I've seen. I've seen Goutier carl out from the ground
and outside of Perth make the greatest song of all
time and then go back underground like and just like
disappear like at there's a lot of appeal. I said,
(02:58):
so you know the voice. Obviously, you guys have that show,
the voice that it's done really well for years.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
We have it too.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
So a couple of times they had asked me to
do the show and I'd said no because of the
scheduling conflict. Oh thank you. Here I got the actual
from top Gun. This is the actual Maverick jacket. Hang
on a minute.
Speaker 3 (03:13):
That's not Tom Cruise's jacket, is it.
Speaker 1 (03:17):
I mean it's the one and only so I got
from so it better be his. I'll put it on.
I'll put it on and we'll make it clear. Yeah,
there we go. So you've paid it done too. I
had to flex, so I like, we're going to go
to I kept saying no to the Voice because of
scheduling conflicts, and then finally in twenty twenty two they
(03:37):
submit another offer for me to be one of the judges.
I was like, hell, yes, we have the whole it's COVID.
Everyone's on lockdown. My wife was like, we're moving to
bond I. We're going to Australia. Like let's let's go
fair dink him and all that stuff and probably like
two months before we were going to leave, we get
a call from the Australian our representative who says, we
cannot clear, we cannot get you a visa. Why Marvel
(04:01):
the movie company has completely waterboarded the customs application process
in Australia. They have taken all the vases. We're backlogs
for six months, all the Marvel movies. No true story,
yeah true story. So I was gonna we were going
to go to Australia for like six months, and then
we got host Chris Henrysworth.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
Got your beauty.
Speaker 3 (04:20):
You hate Marvel? Is that is that fair to say
you hate old Marvel franchise?
Speaker 1 (04:25):
I hate the fact that they absolutely fucked me from
Australia and they haven't. They have not paid me a dime.
So I like Marvel the moment they start using my songs, Yeah,
Team Marvel. But until then they can they can all
with music.
Speaker 2 (04:38):
I think last time we spoke, we were fascinated by
the thought and the process that goes into your music,
and we were talking about different strategies people have and timing.
But what I'd be fascinated to know is how many
people have approached you as a creator and said Hey, Ryan,
we've seen the country music is what everybody wants right now?
Can you make me a hit? And it needs to
(05:00):
have a country feel to it? Is that? Is that
what you'll sing a lot of at the moment. I
mean I did the song.
Speaker 1 (05:07):
I did one of the Beyonce country songs with Miley
Cyrus who most wanted that's that's my song? Yes and no,
I mean I just wrapped a song with Keith Urban
literally yesterday. Awesome. Speaking speaking of Australia, then he's your
next prime minister. Yes, and I I you know, I've
had a couple of country number ones. I've had some
(05:27):
country yet, so I do dabble. Get up Tate mccra.
Tate McCray is the artist I executive produced. He has
the number one song today with Morgan Wallen in the
US and Billboard. So it has definitely become very pervasive.
But I'm just old enough that I remember, like early
two thousands when Shania Twain exploded and it was like
everybody all of a sudden was like trying to do country.
(05:49):
So I think it's cool. I'm happy that it's happening,
you know. Do I think it's a fad?
Speaker 2 (05:54):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (05:54):
I do think it's a fad, but for sure right
now a lot of especially singer songwriter artists, are like,
can you give me something that feels a little more folksy,
a little more country vibes?
Speaker 3 (06:05):
Ryan, I just want to ask you, just quickly. You're
You're unbelievable. You are genius when it comes to writing songs.
But I want to ask you who is the most
talented and creative person and a person that can put
a song together the quickest that blew your mind that
you've worked with. Is it a Beyonce? Is it an
Age Sheeran? Is it someone like that? But someone that
you just you sat there and just went, oh my god,
(06:26):
how quickly they can get us together.
Speaker 1 (06:28):
So it's too it's a two part answer. The most
talented person I worked with on that checks every box
for me, meaning musically, can play every instrument a studio level,
understands lyric, understands arrangement, understands hits songs, melody without question.
For second and third place is Paul McCartney. Wow, with
that question, I worked on his album Egypt Station, So
(06:50):
I would say the fastest in terms of speed. Yep,
it's a pretty close neck. And neck in terms of
artists and their obvious answers of Taylor yep, yes, and
and Ed Taylor.
Speaker 2 (07:02):
And what you what you see when you.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
See an artist who has a volume of hits that
they've written. I mean, Rihanna's had a billion hits, but
like she wasn't writing them. No, Brittany was not writing
her hits, and so on and so forth. Taylor, it's
just a muscle.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
Really yeah, yeah, yeah, it's fascinating stuff.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
Mate.
Speaker 3 (07:21):
We are so you know, this country loves you. We're
so excited to have you back and got it getting
quick for this because it will sell out, but one
republic they're coming. It's the Sweet Escape Tour in feb
next year. Kudos Banker and tickets go on sale this
Friday at two p and go to Live nation dot
com dot au. Ryan Teddor, I will start getting your
(07:41):
we will start getting your studio ready down here in
Australia and get you ready to come back and fair mate, have.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
You please let's go man Bonde or Goldkas I'm ready.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
