And suddenly this stool, completely of its own volition, slid
good to maybe three feet out into the center of
the bar.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
He walks towards the ocean and he gets through the water.
He just disappeared.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
I feel someone run their hand under my butt cheep,
just sliding under my butt.

October eighteenth. Pretty pumped about that. It would be a
great to come and say hi, tell us your ghost story.
By the way, thank you to everyone who came out
to the Night of the Living podcast at Texas Live.
I don't know, wait a minute.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
My cat just sneezed on your hand. And now licking
it off. It's been it's been a minute. That's disgusting.
I mean, what are you gonna do? It's one nice
thing she does. It's a service. If Jojo sneeze on you,
she will then lick the boogers off.
Speaker 3 (03:21):
I appreciate it. Where were we? Thank you guys for
coming out. We're taping this episode before the party, so
we have no idea how it's actually gonna turn out.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
No idea.
Speaker 3 (03:30):
It all just we're all kind of crossing our fingers
that it was a packed house and that we got
to meet you all.
Speaker 1 (03:34):
Yes, So all right, let's get into the stories this week.
This one comes from Jack, who says hello from Maryland.
I have enjoyed your podcast since around the time of
the pandemic. I recently came across some eerie photos I
took while on a ghost tour in Harper's Ferry, West,
Virginia in the summer of twenty seventeen. Thought i'd share
them with you. Located where two rivers converge and three
(03:54):
states meet, Harper's Ferry, West, Virginia has been through deadly
battles and skirmishes of the years, including John Brown's raid
an abolitionist uprising in eighteen fifty nine. I enjoyed a
ghost tour back in the nineties, and in August twenty
seventeen I brought my family there to experience it. The
tour was led by Rick Garland of Ghost Tours of
Harper's Ferry, and we were very impressed with his knowledge
(04:16):
and delivery. Meant a good tour guide. Yes they know
it all, yeah, well, and they can sink it in
a hard get too. Towards the end of the tour,
after a disturbing tale of hog Alley, we walked up
some stone steps by what used to be the US Armory.
It was around nine thirty and very dark, and we
had taken photos with our iPhones throughout the tour and
(04:36):
didn't have anything odd happened. But when we tried to
take pictures of the old armory, it was different. One
iPhone turned off completely and the others screen turned gray,
but mine kept on trucking with the other two phones
out of commission, I took over as photographer. Then I
noticed that on my phone there was this white spiral
vortex whirling right in front of us. This freaky white
(04:58):
tunnel just kept spinning like a ghostly slinky while we shrieked,
and it even showed up in my photos even wilder.
It was plain as day on my phone's camera, yet
none of us could see it in person.
Speaker 3 (05:11):
That's wild.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
Other than that, it was just a dark night with
some street lights. Nobody was playing with a flashlight or
glow sticks, none of that. It looked normal and dark
to us, but something was there. Thanks for doing Haunted
AF best wishes, and this is from Jack. All right,
show me those pictures in the pictures.
Speaker 3 (05:28):
Here we go.
Speaker 1 (05:29):
So here's the first picture of the vortex.
Speaker 3 (05:31):
Yeah, which definitely looks like an orb moving, like the
motion of an ORB moving.
Speaker 1 (05:36):
Here are two more pictures, so it does. You can
see how it's kind of swirling and white. And he said,
unfortunately this was at a time where there weren't live photos,
which I wish he had just gone ahead and filmed it,
because these images are very, very cool and you can
kind of see the old building right behind them. Yeah, So, guys,
(05:57):
what do you think that could be?
Speaker 3 (05:59):
That's interesting? I don't feel like that's any picture that
we've seen thus far.
Speaker 1 (06:03):
No in the podcast, and the first picture that I
saw the swirling thing is kind of off to the side.
It almost could be like a hair. But when you
look at the other one these two images, it's less
like a strand of hair because it's like going directly.
It's going horizontal across the bottom of the image.
Speaker 3 (06:19):
And then what's crazy to me is that it has
like a pattern. Right.
Speaker 1 (06:23):
It does look like motion. It does seem like something
that is moving. Y'all go have a look at this.
I think it's amazing.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
It love that some picture. Wow, thank you so much
for sending that. That was fantastic. We got another creepy
round of photos from our friend TJ, who says this
experience took place in twenty twenty three. My wife and
I went to EST's Park. Is it ESTs is esta Estis.
That's what I knew. I was going to say that wrong,
like Testies Testies, estis as the Testies. My wife and
(06:50):
I went to Estes Park for our ten year wedding anniversary.
We stayed at the Stanley and obviously had to take
the Ghost store. Of course, when we went into the
concert hall, I noticed a very different vibe. My wife,
who desperately wants to have an experience, said she felt nothing,
but I told her to take a lot of pictures
just in case. We always say that, by the way,
so sure enough, I think we got lucky. The first
(07:12):
two pictures were taken back to back. In the first picture,
you see an empty window with a giant red curtain.
In the second, there's a shadow in the bottom left
corner of the window. Now I thought maybe there was
somebody walking past the window outside, but dut, du dut
look at the banister in front of the window and
tell me what you see. The third picture I'm not
(07:32):
as confident in. We were in the basement of the
concert hall, and the tour guide said that if you
took pictures in the mirrors sometimes there would be apparitions
in the background. So I gave it a shot. You
can see a man standing over my shoulder. But I
don't know what do you guys think. Thanks for reading
this and thanks for all you do.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
TJ okay, So I have to tell you, whenever I
looked at these pictures, I was in a really bad mood.
Speaker 3 (07:52):
Okay, so naturally you went to womp, womp, these aren't real.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
Yes, So I was just like, okay, So here's the
first picture of the concert hall. It's just like whatever,
And then he takes the second picture and you see
what looks like somebody walking by sure over in this
red curtain. And I was like, well, obviously that's just
someone outside. But he said, look at the banister and
look closely, and what do you see right there, Rebecca?
Speaker 3 (08:16):
A wall? What is this? Oh? I don't know, another
shadow afoot?
Speaker 1 (08:21):
It looks like a leg. It does look like a leg,
and it sort of looks like it's attached to this
shadow that is passing by. So I literally had this like, eh,
looking at this picture, I'm like, this is somebody. Wait
a minute, I'm so excited whenever I noticed that looks
like a foot.
Speaker 3 (08:38):
Do we know if this building is it on the
ground level like where somebody could be walking outside passing by.
Speaker 1 (08:45):
I don't know that for sure, But it's less about
that shadow right there, know more about what looks like
a foot.
Speaker 3 (08:51):
Totally right there. It's almost like a pant leg that
goes all the way up too.
Speaker 1 (08:55):
And the further it goes up before you can see
through it because you can see the little handle right
here on the cart. Y'all, this picture is awesome. It's
a great picture. This is a great picture. So so
I was like, oh my gosh. Then I went to
look at his last photo. So here's the picture he takes,
you know, a shot of himself, and you can see
somebody standing over his shoulder, right. But when you look
(09:15):
down here, what do you see?
Speaker 3 (09:16):
Nothing?
Speaker 1 (09:17):
Nothing, that's nothing. There's a wall, so it looks like there's.
Speaker 3 (09:21):
Also this shadow over here that looks like another person.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
There were other people on the tour, so that could
have possibly been somebody else. But the thing that really
stood out to me is it looks like a person
standing right here over his shoulder, but then when you
go down there's nothing on him.
Speaker 3 (09:37):
Correct.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
I can even see the carpet behind him. Yeah, So TJ.
Speaker 3 (09:42):
Damn, that's a lot.
Speaker 1 (09:43):
You really really excellent photos. Thank you so much for those.
Speaker 3 (09:47):
I also appreciate he's sending us these and he's like,
I don't know what do y'all think. Yeah, we're pretty
convinced here this time.
Speaker 1 (10:02):
Okay, we're starting spooky News this week with an article
out of Fernandina Beach, Florida. And I found this by
accident because I used to go there all the time
as a kid, and I wanted to see that if
the town was still cute and maybe i'd take my
own family there. Well, I found the story about peg
Leg Pete. It's an old statue in Fernandina Beach of
an old pirate. Okay, so this is a famous spot
(10:22):
in town. But peg Leg Pete is starting to get
really old, like his little pirate hook on his hand
is falling off. Oh, he needs refurbishing, yes, exactly, and
it's turning into a hazard because kids like to climb
all over this thing. So the city's been talking about
either moving him or just tearing it down for good. No,
so they had a town meeting to discuss their options recently,
(10:44):
and a man stands up during the meeting and says, actually,
there are human remains inside peg Leg Beach. Yes. So
the guy who stood up, his name is Billy Taylor,
and he was part of the last renovations team that
worked on peg Leg Pete. So they found the cremains
and at that point everybody knew that they were in there,
(11:04):
so they simply took them out during the renovations and
then replaced them when they were done. And apparently there's
this pirates club in Fernandina Beach and one of the pirates, Yeah,
one of the I think it's just like old guys
to get together and drink, you know it is. But
one of the guys had died and requested to be
have his remains put inside.
Speaker 3 (11:22):
So it's not Pete that's in there.
Speaker 1 (11:24):
It's not Pete, okay, but some other some other pirate
guy who's cremaines were in there. So over time everybody
just forgot that. Yeah, there's a human inside of peace
and now nobody knows what to do, right, you can.
Speaker 3 (11:39):
I don't think you can tear it down if it's
got somebody else in there. Yeah, but the rest of
their not life, I know.
Speaker 1 (11:45):
But there are also rules about where you can even
put cremaines, you know.
Speaker 3 (11:49):
True.
Speaker 1 (11:49):
So we'll keep you posted on this. There's no telling
what's going to happen.
Speaker 3 (11:53):
I want to donate to Peglug Pete.
Speaker 1 (11:55):
I don't want to give them any money.
Speaker 3 (11:56):
Now here's five dollars I got. I know.
Speaker 1 (12:00):
Well, I think they were initially talking about moving in
into like a museum for the city.
Speaker 3 (12:04):
Which would be cool.
Speaker 1 (12:05):
Yeah, so just put the cremains back in there, put
your little pirate friend back in.
Speaker 3 (12:08):
There, and it's all good.
Speaker 1 (12:09):
Yeah. I think that that would work out fine.
Speaker 3 (12:12):
I think it solves all the problems. Yeah. We also
found this really cool event that's happening in Natchez, Mississippi,
the weekend after Halloween. It's called Angels on the Bluff.
It's an annual nighttime walking tour at the Natchez City
Cemetery where actors portray the people who are buried there.
That sounds in the grave. These aren't the graves of
famous people though, They just tell stories of their lives
(12:33):
and how they died, and it's so creepy and so educational,
which we are all here for that.
Speaker 2 (12:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (12:38):
For instance, John Carkeat was a pastor and an undertaker
when he became the eleventh victim of the nineteen o
eight Natchis Drug Company explosion. The downtown building exploded due
to a gas leak, and five young women were also
among the casualties. Their bodies are buried beneath the Turning
Angel in the cemetery, and it said that when you
walk near the statue, the angel's eyes will follow you.
Speaker 1 (13:01):
Oh.
Speaker 3 (13:03):
There's also a grave of Florence irene Ford. Florence was
deathly afraid of thunderstorms, so when she died at the
young age of ten. Her mother built a stairway into
the ground and a window next to her coffin so
that she could comfort Florence on the stormy nights. Angels
on the Bluff raises money for the preservation and maintenance
of the cemetery itself, and ticket sell out soon after
they are released. Why aren't we doing this everywhere? I
(13:25):
do not know, especially in Texas. Seriously, I am one
of those people. I love walking around cemetery same and
I'm mad that the tombstones don't tell me more about
the people there exactly, and this is perfection.
Speaker 1 (13:37):
And like, Okay, I looked up this grave of the
little girl Florence.
Speaker 3 (13:41):
Oh my gosh, I bet it's wild.
Speaker 1 (13:43):
It's so it's so sad. It's kind of heartbreaking because
it's a grave. But then there are these little steps
going down into the ground and they actually walled off
the windows so you can't see it anymore.
Speaker 3 (13:52):
That's so sad.
Speaker 1 (13:53):
It's so sad. But there's a cover over it too,
so the mom could go out there during storms, go
down and pull the cover over and be safe. Like
how heartbreaking is that to think about this mom sitting
out there next to the grave during a storm, right,
and people go and put like children's toys out there.
That's just like one thing that you see on this trip.
(14:14):
And like you said, anytime you're walking through like I
love when you're walking through a cemetery and they actually
have photos on the grave.
Speaker 3 (14:20):
Because I want to know who I'm looking at here.
Speaker 1 (14:22):
Let's do this. We got to make this happen in Texas.
Speaker 3 (14:24):
I'm one hundred percent on board.
Speaker 1 (14:25):
Found a really interesting article this week as well, while
digging for spooky news. This came from Atlas obscura dot
com and it was talking about witch kitch okay, which
the whole point behind it was that, you know, witches
were scary and executed and now they're adorable and like
being used.
Speaker 3 (14:42):
For marketing and all these witches now.
Speaker 1 (14:45):
I know, in fact, my Instagram page has become very
witch heavy for some reason.
Speaker 3 (14:49):
Lazy knows us.
Speaker 1 (14:51):
Yeah, absolutely we are witches. Yeah, but this is all
just like a dirty plug because I want to remind
you that we do have a basic witch sweatshirt in
the Haunted af online store.
Speaker 3 (15:02):
Honestly, it's one of my favorites.
Speaker 1 (15:04):
It's so so con cute. I need to get you
and I both won, but we have tons of Halloween
friendly merch over there. In fact, what we're both wearing
our Haunted AF sweatshirts today.
Speaker 3 (15:13):
It's forced. Yeah it's not cold. No, it's very hot.
Speaker 1 (15:17):
I've got the ac is like working overtime right now
in my house. We've also got the hay Boo sweatshirt. Yeah,
so go find all of that at hauntedaf dot com.
In the shop.
Speaker 4 (15:26):
Who's that scratching.
Speaker 3 (15:27):
At the back door. Who's that drinking out the toilet booth?
Speaker 1 (15:33):
It's a DEADT, DEADT.
Speaker 3 (15:39):
And the jed pet of the Week comes from Alexia.
I had two elderly cats, Ferris and Jezebel, and in
twenty nineteen, both were suffering from kidney failure. I used
to say that Ferris was my heart and Jezebel was
my soul. So when they passed within three months of
each other, I was shattered. Oh then a post showed
up on my Facebook feed. A couple about thirty miles
(16:00):
away from me found six kittens and they had taken
them to the vets office. I knew the moment I
saw the post that these babies were a gift from Alexia.
Speaker 1 (16:09):
Okay, so she sent pictures.
Speaker 3 (16:11):
I cannot wait to see these babies.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
This is Ferris and Jezebel Prussia. And then but look
at this, these are the new babies. Look how similar
they look, and especially one of the kittens has a
little spot right next to his nose, just like I
think that's Ferris. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (16:27):
The only difference is one has a spot on the
it's on the other side.
Speaker 1 (16:30):
It's on the opposite side. It's like a mirror. M
good and that precious.
Speaker 3 (16:34):
Yes, those babies were absolutely meant for you, Alexia.
Speaker 1 (16:37):
All right, so this next one comes from Susan. I
wanted to send you the story about my old farmhouse,
which set a half mile off the road in Hurt, Virginia.
It had woods on two sides, plus a pasture and
a pond. This sounds perfect. About five years ago, my
friend and I, both over forty five, decided we needed
a girl's night in the yard.
Speaker 3 (16:57):
Yeah, she came.
Speaker 1 (16:58):
Over and we started a small bonfire while waiting for
the rest of our friends. Oh my God, invite us
next time.
Speaker 3 (17:04):
How witchy and awesome this is, I know I speaking
of witches.
Speaker 1 (17:07):
So it was a gorgeous full moon and we turned
on some music and started dancing around, just really vibing. Well,
I've always felt like there were spirits in those woods,
and have you been seen a few over the years. Well,
this particular night I met a new one. We were
dancing and my friend said, what's that? About twenty feet
away there was a shadow standing between two of the trees.
(17:28):
It was tall and thin, but had no features, just shadow.
So we all stood there for a minute and they
were like fuck it and started dancing again, not even
a pause.
Speaker 3 (17:39):
We're like, look at what we just summoned. I look
what our moves can do here.
Speaker 1 (17:45):
I know, I feel like edibles might have been involved
at the moment. So one of us even asked it
to come dance with us.
Speaker 3 (17:51):
Oh my god, and then he invited over.
Speaker 1 (17:53):
Then it jumped up into the trees, where it set
for a few minutes before jumping down and then running
back into the woods.
Speaker 3 (17:58):
That's what.
Speaker 1 (18:00):
Yeah, I never saw it again, even though we did
try to get it to come back. I guess it
just likes to watch. And I'm sending a bad drawing up.
She says, it looks like my friend is in the fire,
but no, so there she is hot, and you're right Susan.
She does look like she's on fire.
Speaker 3 (18:15):
She absolutely looks like she's on fire. Yes, but look
at the shadow of so great beyond a pillow. We
don't have a dream to analyze and be on the
pillow today, but we did get a funny video from
a listener. Mark says, so this probably has absolutely nothing
to do with the pair of normal, but it's too
(18:37):
ridiculous not to share. I've always been a terrible sleeper.
I hear and see everything at night, so earplugs and
a face mask are mandatory if I want even a
chance at a good night's sleep. I also walk and
talk in my sleep. Oh man, so many things going on.
Speaker 1 (18:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (18:50):
Yeah, Over the years, there have been plenty of funny stories,
but this morning takes the cake literally. I woke up
and my wife just looked at me and asked, did
you have a dream about cupcakes? I had no clue
what she was talking about until she showed me the video.
Speaker 1 (19:07):
Cocka look at his poor wife. I'm sorry, wait, we
gotta watch that again.
Speaker 3 (19:15):
Those are real. Cocka cupcakes are real.
Speaker 1 (19:21):
Looks around the room. I like there's a whole conversation
going on now, there's some sort of weird flashing light
and he tried to explain to me what that is,
but it's one of the other things he uses to
try to help him sleep.
Speaker 3 (19:31):
Oh.
Speaker 1 (19:31):
I also had a little update about the dream I
talked about last week, the one I told where like
something lifts me up to the ceiling. Well, I looked
it up and dreamy Bot essentially says that I'm feeling
overwhelmed and overpowered by events in my.
Speaker 3 (19:43):
Life, which we already knew that was true.
Speaker 1 (19:45):
Could not be more true. And this weekend, my husband
starts telling me about a nightmare he had where he
saw me being lifted up to the ceiling like that,
and then he was lifted up as well.
Speaker 3 (19:56):
Okay, so you're taking him along for the overwhelming Yes.
Speaker 1 (19:59):
And I had not told him about these dreams that
I have been having crazy. Yeah, So honestly, I think
I'm getting maybe we're all getting a little therapy from
dreamy Bought. Maybe it's a scary, creepy dream. But then
whenever it's like, oh no, you're just feeling overwhelmed, it
is like, damn, well, yeah that's true.
Speaker 3 (20:13):
I mean there is a lot going on in the world.
I hell yeah, all right, And Finally we've got a
story from our friend Chad from the Doctor ghost Hunters,
and Chad, being a badass, actually sent video of himself
like we requested. Thank you so much, Chad, I love
you so much.
Speaker 1 (20:28):
Man.
Speaker 4 (20:28):
Hey, this is Chad. You might remember me from last year.
I called in in the spring to talk about my
story at the Hillhouse and the spirit or entity that
I think followed me home and made my dog here
Max bark in the middle of the night. Well, we
did all the saging and everything finally went away at
my home at clinic. That's a different story for a
different day, but the point of this video is an update.
(20:50):
So last week I had a patient come in who
had come across my ghost tuning YouTube channel, and after
our visit had asked me about the scariest thing to happen,
and so I decided to talk about Hill House and
that spirit Toby because we don't name him here, told
him everything that happened, and that was that I come
(21:10):
home that night this guy decided to throw up all
night all but more importantly, this.
Speaker 1 (21:16):
One there blood.
Speaker 4 (21:20):
Both all night, all night everywhere. It's like a scene
from the Exorcist. Now, Penny, she was sick earlier in
the week, and it's very very likely that the sickness
just had a little more recurrence, passed it along to Max.
They're both doing better now, but just makes you wonder.
Speaker 2 (21:40):

Speaker 4 (21:41):
I don't know. So there's an update. Oh and for
everyone else, I've been procrastinating on this for years. Finally
did it. Go sign up for the patron It's cheef
KEI did all sorts of free stuff and I finally
did it. Sorry it took me so long. I hope
see you guys soon.
Speaker 1 (21:57):
Bite You're so amazing. Yeah, I love Chad so much.
Speaker 3 (22:01):
We give notes. You took all of them and did
it last week, so thank you for that. Yes, you're Adrian, Like,
send a video, amazing.
Speaker 1 (22:09):
Send pictures of his dogs, both of them, even though
they both look miserable.
Speaker 3 (22:13):
Those poor babies.
Speaker 1 (22:14):
Yeah. So, anybody who's not familiar. When Chad came on,
initially it kind of became a joke because he had
been at the Haunted Hillhouse in Mineral Weld and when
he came home and was working on the story, everyone
involved started having like really bad intestinal issues, just pretty
much poop parties everywhere.
Speaker 3 (22:32):
Funny, it's not funny.
Speaker 1 (22:33):
Yeah, right, and so we even when we put it
on the air, were kind of warning everybody. But again,
that is interesting timing. He talks about to b Y, which,
to be fair, I'm not sure spelling it out is helping.
Speaker 3 (22:45):
No, I don't think so either.
Speaker 1 (22:47):
And they're going back, Chad and his team are. They're
all going to be going back to Haunted Hillhouse. So
I asked him, are you at all worried about this?
Speaker 3 (22:54):
Yeah, because your dogs now are in direct line here.
Speaker 1 (22:57):
Yes, I'm poopy blood right.
Speaker 3 (22:59):
I'm like, maybe when you stay at a hotel for
a week and get yeah, try to get all that
sickness out so you don't give it to the dog.
Speaker 4 (23:05):
Right.
Speaker 1 (23:05):
Well, he said they are a little concerned about that,
so they're gonna do some extra cleansing and salting or whatever.
It is good to try to keep things from following
them home. And we talked about maybe meeting them out there.
But great, I'll be honest, things have been so messed up.
Speaker 3 (23:20):
I'm like, I don't know if we want to go anymore, don't.
Speaker 1 (23:23):
I seriously, I don't know if I can take it.
Speaker 3 (23:25):
I mean I do need to take a good though.
Is it worth it when you have intestinal issues. Is
it worth it?
Speaker 1 (23:32):
It might a quick trip, It might be it might
be good for a couple of pounds. You know, it's like,
oh my.
Speaker 3 (23:37):
Oh my god, I gotta go to my annual cleansing.
Speaker 1 (23:40):
I don't haunt it.
