Speaker 1 (03:42):
And we also have to send out props to our
friend Poncho V who shared a real with us. It
comes from low Key Joel Whitey on Instagram and he
thought it would be fun to take a nighttime run
while listening to scary music.

Speaker 4 (03:57):
Part two of Bringing with Scary Music put in my
back that Hi, guys, though I'm being serious, holy shit,
I'm actually hearing fu shit. No no, no, no.

Speaker 5 (04:06):
Holy shit.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
If so much chases problem.

Speaker 4 (04:14):
No no no, no, no.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
No pause and music.

Speaker 4 (04:19):
I'm notctually hearing shit. Oh god, what the heck. I'm done.
There's no more variations of this, So I said, do
a graveyard. No, but if I had to end this
serious soft yes, running with scary music does make you
run faster.

Speaker 5 (04:36):
Poncho VI was like, you guys should do this in
all honesty, it's a great cardio.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
It's great cardio. But he was like, why don't you
and Rebecca do this? And I'm like, well, first of all,
I wouldn't go out and run it nice, don't run,
but I.

Speaker 3 (04:47):
Don't run run period. Thank you.

Speaker 5 (04:50):
All right, So our first story here comes from Cat,
who says I got a temp job at a chalk
mind loading palettes. I was the only female on the floor,
and the guys in my team would joke that it
it was creepy as e F creepy aaf AF I
know there's children, creepy af At night, they said that
the machines would turn on by themselves and the figures
would walk down hallways. It was a swing shift job,

(05:12):
and when management went home the night shift got lazy.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
The guys on my team made me run the machines.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
And load the.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
Bags by myself.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
Boo.

Speaker 5 (05:19):
One night, I was running machine and it was very loud.
I had ear plugs in. I was stamping the bag
when in my ear a male voice said, I'm in
the middle. I cut the machine off. I took an
earplug out and looked around, but no one else was there.
All of the guys were in the office with the
door closed. I was kind of scared, but didn't say
anything because they would have teased me, and the voice

(05:41):
wasn't a whisper by the way. It was spoken directly
in my ear with the ear plugs. In another time,
in the same warehouse, I was working a Saturday with
one other person. I kept seeing shadows out of the
corner of my eye and felt like I was being watched.
I told my coworker and she told me that when
she got that feeling, she'd take pictures to.

Speaker 3 (05:59):
See if she caught anything. We say that all the time.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
Yep, take multiples.

Speaker 5 (06:03):
So I took multiple pictures and didn't get anything. Then
I decided to take some selfies. We started looking through
the pictures and when I got to the first selfie,
there was something tall and white standing directly behind me.

Speaker 3 (06:16):
I almost threw up kat okay.

Speaker 1 (06:18):
For the record, anytime you send us a story like
this and you describe a terrifying photo.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
Send the picture.

Speaker 1 (06:24):
Have to send the photos.

Speaker 3 (06:25):
Absolutely.

Speaker 1 (06:26):
So we were recently asking if there were any cool
Halloween events in your community, kind of like Hangman's House
of Horrors or Angels on the Bluff, the Cemetery tour
that they do in Natchez, Mississippi, and people were responding.
Caroline wrote in about the silver Wood theme park in
Idaho that turns into Scary Wood. And then we heard
from Claire at Texas Tech. Claire told us about this

(06:49):
ghost tour that's put on by their own paranormal group.
So I did not know that universities would do this,
But Texas Tech has its own paranormal group called Raider
Power of the Pair Paranormal or our POP for short,
and they do a fundraiser they call it a Fright
Razor every October. It's a one point five mile walking
toward that takes you to various spots on the campus

(07:11):
that are haunted. So Our Pops started in twenty twenty
with three friends and a faculty member, but it has
expanded to over five hundred members and They don't just
tell ghost stories. They like to dig into like the
cultural significance of ghost stories, and they even encourage skeptics
to join. So they do at least one paranormal investigation
per semester, which I'm like, can we come come out

(07:32):
for that? So we need to reach out to these guys.
They do have an Instagram page if you want to
check them out. Again. That is our pop raiter power
of paranormal Go find those guys.

Speaker 5 (07:42):
Beyond the pillow, all right, Beyond the Pillows story comes
from Angie. Angie says, this is a strangely humorous dream
I've had repeatedly for the past three years.

Speaker 3 (07:55):
The scream was perfect, the scares are happening. I love it.

Speaker 5 (07:58):
In the dream, I'm always's in a dark, abandoned warehouse.
Taylor Swift is with me, and we are being stalked
by Jason Vorhees, although sometimes it's Michael Myers.

Speaker 1 (08:08):
Oh nice.

Speaker 5 (08:08):
Actually I spend most of the dream trying to protect Taylor, though.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
Honestly she doesn't help.

Speaker 1 (08:14):
That doesn't surprise me for shocked by that.

Speaker 5 (08:16):
Actually, I always wake up when one of us is
eventually caught and presumably killed. I must preface this by
saying that I don't consider myself as swifty, though I.

Speaker 3 (08:24):
Do like her as a fellow cat lady.

Speaker 5 (08:27):
I run a cat rescue and it's hell a is stressful,
So I have thoughts on what this dream means.

Speaker 3 (08:31):
I'd love to get Dreambot's opinion, though, Angie.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
Okay, So for every one of the audience, we do
dream analysis, but we use it's an AI dream bot
to tell us what these dreams mean. And they're crazy accurate.
So dreamy Bot says, this dream is a fascinating blend
of symbols, and the repetition over three years suggests a
deeply ingrained conflict for people who are listening. Yeah, that's

(08:54):
the smoke machine, Kellen.

Speaker 3 (08:55):
I thought it was a chainsaw. Oh, it might be right,
the chainsaw there's from the building.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
Definitely chainsaws happening.

Speaker 3 (09:01):
Beware of the chainsaw, y'all okay.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
Dreaming About says the dark abandoned warehouse speaks to feelings
of neglect and isolation and perhaps untapped potential. The presence
of Taylor's swift is particularly interesting in dreams. Celebrities often
represents aspects of the self or qualities we admire in others.
Taylor Swift is a public figure embodies like artistry and

(09:22):
a carefully constructed persona. It's likely she represents your creative side,
your desire for recognition, or even a part of you
that feels exposed and scrutinized. And the fact that you
are tasked with protecting her while she offers no assistance
is key. This suggests that you feel a responsibility to
nurture and defend a part of yourself that feels fragile

(09:43):
and incapable of self preservation. Finally, we have Jason Vorhees
and Michael Myers, who are archetypal am I saying there
archetypal figures of relentless, unstoppable fear. So they represent anxieties,
repressed aggression, or something in your life that feels and
in escapable. Overall, this dream is trying to tap into

(10:04):
a core conflict between your aspirations and a deeply rooted
fear of something or someone that threatens to destroy them.
It could also be that you're constantly putting the needs
of others before your own, and that's exhausting, I know,
right and for somebody who's running a cat rescue, that
kind of sounds right to me, so we'll check in
and find out that registers with her at all.

Speaker 4 (10:24):
All right.

Speaker 5 (10:24):
Our next story comes from Rhonda. My father was dying
when I got pregnant with my daughter. He said he
prayed to be here to see my baby, and he was,
but he died soon after she was born. The day
he passed away, thousands of dragonflies swarmed my house. I
love dragonflies and even collect them.

Speaker 1 (10:40):
That had to be kind of creepy, though.

Speaker 3 (10:43):
Them is dead.

Speaker 5 (10:45):
When my daughter was about three, I heard her talking
to someone while playing. I asked who she was talking to,
and she said that she was having a tea party
with her granddaddy. Then she said, he said he loves
you and is very proud of you, little monkey.

Speaker 3 (11:00):
That was his nickname for me growing up.

Speaker 5 (11:02):
Another time, she told me that she wanted a pair
of overalls like the ones granddaddy wears. My father always
wore overalls, but due to a house fire, I lost
my photos of him wearing them. Thank you for reading, Randa.

Speaker 1 (11:13):
Thank you, Ronda. And then the next one comes from Jana.
Good afternoon, I just started listening to your podcast and
was inspired to send in one of my experiences as
a child. When visiting my grandfather, I would take the
small black comb from his shirt pocket and comb through
his hair, a task that got easier over the years,
and he got balder well. When he passed in two

(11:33):
thousand and six, the only thing I asked to keep
was his black comb. I have it framed in a
shadow box. In fact, over the years, he has visited
me in dreams, wants to show me where he had
hidden some collector's plates from my dad and aunts because
they wouldn't stop fighting over who's going to inherit them.
I love it. Unfortunately, the house he showed me is
no longer hours, so I can't just stop in and

(11:53):
ask to go crawl around in the attic. This brings
us to twenty twenty four. My my husband and I
were living in Denver, which is far from Marcanadia. In roots,
I was in the grocery store one day, trying to
figure out what to make for dinner when I heard
tacos in hard shells, hell yeah play his day. It
didn't even seem like a voice in my head either,
So I walked towards that aisle and noticed something was
laying right in the middle of the floor. It was

(12:15):
a small black comb, y'all. It took my breath away
and I teared up instantly. I felt like he was
right there with me. And of course you could say
it just fell out of some old guy's pocket, but
what are the chances that I would come across it?
And it was such a specific sign. It felt like
it was meant just for me. And that is from
Jana and she even sent a picture of the comb
right there in the middle of level.

Speaker 5 (12:37):
Yeah. All right, we got to say once again, thank
you so much to Hangman's House of HORRORCE for having
us out. Tonight, we're gonna wrap up this episode. We're
gonna go chat with some folks in line and see
what kind of scary stories they have to tell. We
actually already interviewed some of the actors at Hangman's and
they had scary stuff to share. In fact, they think
this place is genuinely haunted, which is super creepy. Yeah,
but make sure you're listening next week so you can

(12:57):
hear all of those stories.

Speaker 1 (12:58):
Yeah, And in fact, if anything happens to you guys
other than the obviously being chased with chainsaws and keep
coombs and stuff like that, keep in mind Hangman's House
of Horrors is supposed to be actually haunted. And before
we wrap up, I have to share one more message.
This comes from Eden. So she wrote to us right
after hearing the Haunted Hill House update that we got
from Chad from Doctor ghost Hunter's. So she was apparently

(13:21):
listening at the gym and when she walked out to
her car, there was a train car with a huge
T O By painted on it. So Aidian immediately took
a picture and sent it to us on Instagram, and
she said, lud Jesus, no, I love listening to your podcast,
but keep your haunted friends with you. So I know,
I know it, so I know. I asked if I

(13:42):
could share the picture, but when I tried to download
it it was gone. And then Eden couldn't find it
on her phone. Oh my god. She took it through
Instagram and I guess maybe they don't always save. That
was weird. I don't really know. So a week passed
and then she sent.

Speaker 6 (13:55):
This, Okay, so here at the gym, I look up.
There's a new tb y but it's a different color
than the original and in a different spot, because that's
that's where the original was. I'm gonna take a picture
and send it to your email too.

Speaker 1 (14:12):
So if you're not watching on YouTube, it's another train
car with Toby painted on it, but it's a completely
different one from the first time. So it's like every
time Eden tries to leave the gym, Toby, Oh, thank you?

Speaker 5 (14:27):
No no, no, no, all right, you guys, don't forget.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
