Speaker 3 (00:35):
And we welcome you back inside the locker room, King and.
Speaker 4 (00:37):
Starch presented overy Neighborhood Ford Store here at this Teler's
Audio Network. Absolutely beautiful day, man. I cannot remember, incidentally,
a stretch of hot weather this long when.
Speaker 5 (00:50):
I first moved this late in you know, yeah or
early yeah July.
Speaker 1 (00:56):
Like usually there's like a like an immense cool off,
and we got a little about that a little bit.
We had like a four day stretch where we hit
like the seventies and it was over.
Speaker 3 (01:05):
Yeah, yeah, right, and nice. That was last week, wasn't that?
Speaker 1 (01:08):
Yeah? That was last week? But no, this week there
is not a cloud in the sky and the heat
temperature gauge is nearing and rearing ninety degrees.
Speaker 4 (01:16):
So when I first moved to Pittsburgh in two thousand,
they had I remember seeing something on the news and
they they had said that Pittsburgh had gone. It was
something like, oh boy, we need a weather person out there.
Something like three years without a single day reaching ninety.
It had been a while for some reason. There had
(01:37):
just been this stretch in which there was no no
days it reached ninety.
Speaker 3 (01:41):
And now here we are. I mean, we've had to.
Speaker 4 (01:44):
Have two dozen days in the night easily, easily all
up here, and post rain too, because rain usually cools.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
Right, you know, and then yes, unless you're in Florida,
Unless you're in Florida, than the ensuing humidity, right, say
like it did Saturday night. Right, But you're right, I
mean not having that type of weather and now you're
seeing it this year. I mean, we we've gone through it,
and it's like, man, it is really hot when when
the heat kicks up. And listen, I know I live
(02:11):
in Arizona and I'm sitting here trying to act like
but humidity versus no humidity, there is a different difference,
ladies and gentlemen. I can promise you I can walk
around at one oh five in Arizona with dry heat. Yes,
I'm gonna say it, and it feels cliche, but I
don't sweat. I walk out here at ninety and I
(02:32):
am drenched. I mean that whole game Saturday night, we
had the windows open, the faint ac ribbon of cool
air that will hit you every five to ten minutes,
just for a secular Oh my god, where is that?
I gotta I gotta reproduce this. Where can I stand?
It's not it's not present. I didn't cool off in
that game until ten minutes into the to the flight
back home.
Speaker 4 (02:52):
Yeah, I say, I think I told you like I'm
not gonna say it with humid but I took a
deep breath in and when I exhale, the guppy came
out of my mind.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
Exactly exactly.
Speaker 3 (03:01):
But so there. But I remember somebody saying, some writer said, we.
Speaker 4 (03:06):
Know when they named the Miami Heat, they said they
should have named in the Miami humidity. One always says
it's not the heat that gets its humidity. That would
have been a great tagline for the team. So we
we are here inside and there's plenty of air conditioning here.
Today the field outside it will be ninety degrees hot.
Uh again, it's the temperatures have been warm. They're gonna
(03:29):
be warm all week. We're to see a scrimmage between
the two teams on Thursday at Akrosser Stadium. Uh, we
are not everybody else's practice. Yes, thank you for we
meaning you and me. And then then then less and
some you know, the writers and stuff. The writers will
all be there so and we'll talk about you know, hey, listen,
(03:50):
you get a little heat and then against people cranky,
and we'll see if there's any crankiness on Thursday and
whether that might spill over to some crankiness on Saturday.
Speaker 3 (03:59):
Well, Shielder, is your microphone on it?
Speaker 4 (04:03):
So you came up with something when we were talking
about the team depth, and uh, you came up with
something that.
Speaker 3 (04:09):
We I think vociferously disagree with. So laid on us.
Speaker 6 (04:12):
Yes, so funny enough. When you guys were having that conversation,
I was kind of, you know, doing the producer thing.
I'm always I'm keeping an eye on the beat, right,
I'm keeping an eye on the on the ticker, you're
keeping the pulse pulse the sports.
Speaker 3 (04:25):
World another way of saying that it is not listening.
Speaker 6 (04:27):
But go ahead, Ye, No, that's not true, because you
know if I wasn't true, that's right.
Speaker 3 (04:32):
Okay, So what do you got for us?
Speaker 6 (04:34):
So I'm always keeping an eye on what's out there
and what's going on in any breaking news things like that.
And as you guys were talking about depth, I actually
found a different thing on ESPN where they were kind
of talking about each organization's future. Okay, so they ranked
every organization in the NFL based off their quarterback future,
based off the rest of their roster future, head coaching, future,
(04:54):
front office future. Okay, made that into equation ranked on
the taps, Yes, exactly right. But so what caught my
eye within that article was how they had every team's
rosters ranked excluding the quarterback, which I think is prime
for the depth conversation. We all know depth that quarterback
is important, but I think that's more of a non quarterback.
Speaker 4 (05:13):
So soon let me ask you this is this now
we're getting some clarification here.
Speaker 3 (05:17):
Maybe is this future depth right? Current depth?
Speaker 6 (05:22):
Current depth?
Speaker 2 (05:23):
Right?
Speaker 6 (05:23):
Now?
Speaker 4 (05:23):
So this is so the futures conversation is over. Now
we're just talking about as we go into twenty twenty five,
where where do.
Speaker 6 (05:32):
Your non quarterback depth? How they rank your roster.
Speaker 3 (05:35):
Okay, so who's number one?
Speaker 6 (05:36):
Philadelphia, the reigning Super Bowl champions.
Speaker 1 (05:38):
Surprise, surprise.
Speaker 3 (05:39):
I don't think you could be surprised. I don't think
we could argue that at all.
Speaker 6 (05:43):
Number two very deep, also of the AFC North, the
Baltimore Ravens.
Speaker 1 (05:47):
Okay, I mean yes, ish.
Speaker 6 (05:51):
Number three New Money struggled for a long time. Now
they've been hot on the block.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
The Detroit Lions exactly, the fighting Dan Campbell's which of Detroit.
Speaker 6 (06:03):
I get it because a lot of their concern is
around losing coordinators, you know what I mean. They did
lose two big pieces of that offensive line, but they
are they are deep, no doubt, no doubt. And you
bring in Drake green Law as well to Sorry that
was the Broncos. Never mind not the lines.
Speaker 3 (06:18):
Yeah, I have no problems with one and three so far.
Speaker 6 (06:21):
Number four, this was the first one that kind of
made my eyebrows raise a little bit. And I think
they've got a good roster. But I don't know about
number four. The Denver Broncos. This four four, they should
be in the top ten, but I don't know about four.
Speaker 1 (06:35):
Yeah, I wouldn't go that high. I mean, yeah, you're right,
I give them a top ten, but I am not
like their defense.
Speaker 6 (06:40):
I think them and the Steelers should have the best
defenses in the national Football.
Speaker 4 (06:44):
That just to just to be clear, now we're talking
about the Broncos team that the Steelers went up and
beat in Denver and Denver, the Students team without Jalen Ramsey, right,
without Darius Lay, without Metcalf, without Smith, without Rogers at quarterback,
without three of their draft choices from last year.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
Right, that's the team, and very, that's the team.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
It's very I'm just asking a year ago, right that
we lost. We lost two players in that game, right
because Corey Trice correct and correct was not president the
rest of the season, and we lost.
Speaker 4 (07:19):
And I understand that the Studers are without Dan Moore. Okay,
so I just named six guys that they added side
of the draft class exactly. Okay, Okay, now let's go
who's five?
Speaker 6 (07:29):
This one surprised me to good team made the playoffs
last year, but five the green Bay Packers.
Speaker 1 (07:35):
I mean I could kind of see green Bay ish.
Speaker 6 (07:38):
They don't have any holes on their roster, but they
also don't have any like all pro stars on.
Speaker 4 (07:44):
And again, just to reiterate, this is outside of the quarterback.
Speaker 1 (07:51):
Yeah, okay, number six.
Speaker 6 (07:54):
No one circles the wagons like the Buffalo Bills.
Speaker 1 (07:57):
I will give you that. Well, no, no, I can't.
Speaker 6 (08:00):
Because no, Josh Allen is not in the equation.
Speaker 1 (08:03):
Josh Allen's not on the equation. I mean, James Cook
is sitting in right now. He doesn't have a contract,
he hasn't practiced or anything. So to say that at
the moment, that, nah, I can't don't know.
Speaker 3 (08:14):
So let me say I will say this about the Bills.
Speaker 4 (08:16):
And you know, I've got an open mind about the
Bills because last year I did not see them having
the kind of year they had last year. And the
reason is they have been hemorrhaging all pros. Hemorrhaging in
the offseason. Every year you look up, two or three
all pros are leaving that roster. So if I'm looking
(08:38):
at teams that remain competitive, stay competitive despite having the
disadvantage of consistently drafting late, the Steelers have done a
phenomenal job of that over the years. The New England
Patriots with Belichick did a phenomenal job with that with Brady,
phenomenal job of continuing to compete despite drafting late. The
(09:00):
Buffalo Bills. To me, the latest example, you have Sean McDermott,
you have that front office. They're working in lockstep. I'm
very impressed with what they've done. I think they've done
a phenomenal job. But I would also be interested to
see that team without Josh Allen.
Speaker 1 (09:17):
And that's what I was going to make the point.
This is devoid of the quarterback devoid of because Josh
Allen a lot.
Speaker 6 (09:24):
He's probably number two on the quarterback value list behind
Patrick Mahomes.
Speaker 1 (09:27):
Yeah, I mean, and I would would argue that. I
would say, even you know Jalen hurts as good as
he is, I wouldn't have him as ranked as high
as Josh Allen. I think he falls in like the
number four slot, maybe five. Lamar's up there to in
my top five. But but yeah, Josh Allen and Patrick
Mahomes will probably be the class of the quarterback royalty
(09:48):
or tier one type of quarterbacks.
Speaker 3 (09:50):
Burrow Burrow Burrow is, but Burrow.
Speaker 1 (09:54):
Has you know, he had all that offense and he
still realized how much he needed a defense made. So
even as great as Joe Burrow is, he can't win
you as many games as a Josh Allen camp because
he can only do it as good as the receivers are.
He's not a runner like Josh Allen, right right, Josh
Allen as the legs Allen.
Speaker 6 (10:12):
That's why in the Quarterbacks Ranking Quarterbacks Value portion of
this it was Mahomes one, Josh Allen two. Yeah, and
they had a quote from like an AFC executive who said,
Josh Allen is the harder quarterback to defend. That doesn't
mean he's better than Mahomes, but he's the harder guy
to defend because he because he could just beat you
in different ways.
Speaker 1 (10:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (10:31):
Now I'll tell you though, man, I mean, you know, Mahomes,
Mahomes reminds me a lot of Rogers in his prime.
He really does off platform throws, the different things he
can do moving around in the pocket. I mean, you
don't think of him as a running quarterback. But both
of those guys, man, if it was third and seven,
(10:55):
they scramble for eight, it is. They don't scramble for
forty two early. But they're like, oh, I mean you're
just like you look up and you're like, oh, you
got the first down, man, get all you know, time.
Speaker 1 (11:09):
Downs, right, Aaron Rodgers and Detroit. Detroit has to be
the team that has been the least beneficial of the
untimed down at the end of games and at the
mercy of Aaron Rodgers just staring down the barrel and
just smiling as he runs off the field score game
winning touchdown, like I mean, And that's where I think
it's it's just crazy to look at this list and
(11:31):
you have to you have to throw the quarterback out
of it. But that's where that's where we get like
the most like head scratching, because we're like, you're not
counting the quarterback, and especially like Buffalo, Like I mean,
you know what, Khalil Khalil Shakir. And I'm trying to say,
who are the other receivers for them? At the tight end?
(11:52):
I can't remember his name because obviously Buffalo is not
in our recent He's a good tight end, but he's
not earth shattering.
Speaker 4 (12:01):
I thought I thought he was gonna be one of
those fantasy darlings last year. You think, okay, well, he's
going to take a huge step forwards the channel.
Speaker 1 (12:11):
Because there wasn't a number one receiver right exactly still
middle of the.
Speaker 4 (12:15):
Road, yep, Dian who's it Dion Smith? Now, who's the
other who's.
Speaker 1 (12:19):
The Dion Dowkins there left tackle? I do know that.
Speaker 5 (12:23):
I do know the fat boy Brown you got there?
You got their wide receivers last year. Coleman Khalil Coleman
didn't really he was a k K Dawson Knox. Yeah,
Dawson Knox obviously. Uh?
Speaker 1 (12:40):
Kane? What am i? Dan?
Speaker 3 (12:42):
Kane?
Speaker 1 (12:44):
Kane?
Speaker 3 (12:45):
So? Who yike?
Speaker 1 (12:47):
So?
Speaker 6 (12:47):
Bill's number six? Okay, Chiefs number seven?
Speaker 3 (12:50):
Wow?
Speaker 1 (12:51):
Really?
Speaker 6 (12:51):
Non Mahomes Chief's number seven.
Speaker 1 (12:54):
I don't see Kelsey is old. I don't Methusela, right man,
I don't see that. So I could see that you
still don't have a number one receiver, Tina still doesn't
have a number one receiver.
Speaker 3 (13:04):
I don't see that. Name him really good.
Speaker 1 (13:08):
Great defense, but also but you lost a couple of
cornerbacks he did this offseason. So is that defense as good? Right?
That's the question. No. DeAndre Hopkins yep. Veteran, he's now
a Raven So that's probably what propped up the Ravens
numbers number.
Speaker 6 (13:24):
Eighth, Houston.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
I can see that offensively. Defensively, still a lot of bugaboo.
Questions like the rushers, but outside of edge, yeah, I
mean yeah, Will Anderson is that dude. And Neil Hunter
has now become kind of that that other opposite piece
that you hope can can bring.
Speaker 6 (13:46):
He's just consistently I'm still.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
A four to three defense.
Speaker 4 (13:49):
But yeah, I still don't know how Tomiko Ryan didn't
win Coach of the Year two years ago.
Speaker 1 (13:53):
I'm still baffled. It is is honestly that now that.
Speaker 3 (13:56):
No offense to Kevin's defense. He's won in the ward twice.
Speaker 1 (13:59):
I just died. I don't see it. I mean, just
like Miles Garrett winning, you know, Defensive Player of the Year. Anyways,
We're not going to get into that. Nope, Nope, not
going to do it.
Speaker 6 (14:07):
Number nine. We'll see them this week, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Speaker 1 (14:12):
I can see that. Actually, I'm surprised they're that low
because if.
Speaker 6 (14:16):
You take quarterback out of the equation and I think
Baker's fine, they're still good.
Speaker 1 (14:20):
They're really good. I mean, you think about Mike Evans,
what all he does is get thousand yard receiving sixty
time Bowl. I mean, and then Godwin. Godwin is a.
Speaker 6 (14:28):
Great, solid defensive line, solid defensive front.
Speaker 1 (14:31):
So, I mean, you know, running backs really good back there.
Speaker 3 (14:34):
Yep.
Speaker 4 (14:34):
I've begun my preps for them, and they're they are.
I agree, they're deep, they're they're another team where you know,
you start looking at their wide receivers, you know, Jalen McMillan,
of those two guys, you just then a Mecha Buca
is your first round pick. They've got him pick, They've
got him listed as like fourth in their depth chart.
They got a young receiver named Tedz Johnson who's a
(14:56):
draft pick this year. He's moved up on their depth
chart from Oregon. Yeah, and now now you're looking at
other guys. You're like, okay, well they're probably gonna leave
out a receiver who might get picked up. You know,
just again, I'm one of the preliminary stages. But you
know when you look at this team, yeah, they're they're
one of those teams that they might have a tough day.
Speaker 3 (15:14):
Time on cutdown day. They might they might be leaving
some guys out there.
Speaker 1 (15:18):
There might there might be some some pieces left on
the on the toy shop table.
Speaker 6 (15:22):
You thought the bucks might have been a couple of
spots higher. Also think remember you take quarterback out of
the equation. The number ten spot team could have been
a couple of spots higher. The Minnesota Vikings.
Speaker 1 (15:31):
Yeah, Vikers got a lot of pieces. He's got a
lot of pieces. And actually it actually helps them not
having last year. Yeah yeah, yeah, no, fourteen fourteen three,
that's rights right, because they couldn't the two teams, they
could not beat Detroit or the La Rams. Yeah, there
are more losses were the two teams.
Speaker 4 (15:52):
NFC North is Oh, it's.
Speaker 3 (15:56):
That's NFC North, AFC North.
Speaker 6 (15:58):
Yes, now this is where it's ours to get a
little dicey fellas. That's the top ten, okay, top ten.
Speaker 1 (16:03):
I mean we could play around with the pieces, but
I think the top ten. I like the number, like
the teams. I don't like necessarily correct order.
Speaker 6 (16:12):
Correctly, like I think i'd have the Broncos and the
Packers down a little bit lower, Bucks and Vikings.
Speaker 1 (16:16):
Behind the box, but especially behind the Bucks and the
Vikings especially. And we're because we're taking QB out of this.
Let's just remember we're taking QB out okay.
Speaker 4 (16:25):
Now, And that's another thing too. I mean the Ravens
are number two. I mean they're I love their roster.
They're they're good, but.
Speaker 6 (16:33):
Two, I didn't make the list, okay exactly, I mean
Kingers looking at me like I'm speaking Spanish.
Speaker 1 (16:40):
I mean you're thinking about how a lot of weight
on Derrick Henry and Justin Montibik and Kyle Hamilton. I
mean when I think the top three guys.
Speaker 3 (16:48):
Are like, I'm like, those guys are players.
Speaker 1 (16:51):
Roquan, I'm sorry, Yeah, you're right, Roquan. I mean, but
say Flowers is okay, Rashad Bateman finally came awake after
how many years they like.
Speaker 3 (17:01):
Listen, nobody. We're not gonna argue it's a good roster.
It's a good roster. Is number two? Lamar is a
huge difference.
Speaker 1 (17:08):
And number two is what we're arguing here. We're not arguing,
like we said, they're.
Speaker 6 (17:12):
Top five or top ten, will give them.
Speaker 1 (17:15):
Top five is maybe right there in that middle tier,
in that top ten, but number two is what we're arguing,
that's the second best roster out there.
Speaker 6 (17:23):
Well, we're gonna have plenty to argue, gentlemen, because we're
not even really that close to the Steelers ranking yet
here shocked nine Ers eleven, which is an interesting one
to me because.
Speaker 1 (17:31):
All the losses that's what I mean, like lost thirteen
players in free agency, thirteen players mine thirteen players.
Speaker 6 (17:38):
Like if you tell me they get Christian McCaffrey back
healthy and Bosa back healthy. Okay, but what was your
record last year? Five wins? I think five or six wins.
Speaker 3 (17:47):
And they lost how many guys?
Speaker 6 (17:48):
Thirteen month?
Speaker 1 (17:49):
Thirteen three ages.
Speaker 4 (17:51):
I'm not gonna I'm not gonna say anything. I'm just
gonna I'm just gonna ask them question and let everybody
make up their own mind. Number twelve the l A Rams.
Speaker 1 (17:59):
Okay, Now that's a that's actually a surprising team. I
would have put them in.
Speaker 6 (18:02):
The top I think I'd be a couple spots and they.
Speaker 1 (18:04):
Would have been a top ten team for me. Especially
you're taking out Matthew Stafford, I mean Nakula, I mean
their defensive line as young as all get out, so
and they are they are menacing.
Speaker 3 (18:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (18:18):
So again, I just I threw some praise at the
Bills earlier and the job they're doing maintaining I think
a very deep and very good roster. When you start
to win, and when you have a franchise quarterback, you
got to pay pay a lot of money to It's not.
Speaker 3 (18:33):
It's not that easy to do. It's not that easy
to do.
Speaker 4 (18:38):
Uh, this team, the Rams, I am, I think that
they have done. What they've done is kind of incredible.
Like they just said, Okay, we're gonna throw all our
number ones in, we're gonna go win the Super Bowl.
And first of all, you say that and then you
win the Super Bowl. How many teams have said that
and not even made the playoffs?
Speaker 3 (18:57):
Right, it's been disastrous. They won the Super went to
one one of them. Then they took all of.
Speaker 4 (19:02):
Those Okay, yeah, we're gonna get back a fifth rown
pick here, fourth rown pick here, and they shirt.
Speaker 3 (19:09):
Yes, right.
Speaker 6 (19:10):
They one year didn't send anybody the combine, Kigger. One
of the years we were at the combine, they had
nobody there. Like, we're not drafting, we're not drafted till
day three.
Speaker 3 (19:19):
What do we go to the combine for?
Speaker 4 (19:20):
But then you are looking at a team that you know,
bereft of top picks, just got starters and quality players
in all pros in the fourth, fifth, sixth rounds. That's
what they've done is impressive. I mean, you you have
to I've never seen anybody think about it. Can we
(19:41):
think of a team that's done both Okay, we're gonna good,
We're gonna go all in the heck with the draft picks.
Speaker 3 (19:46):
Okay, boom and then fall off and then not fall off.
That's impressive. They've been impressive.
Speaker 6 (19:52):
Agree, Uh, number thirteen, fresh off their AFC Championship Game
appearance and feeling good the Washington come and.
Speaker 1 (20:00):
Well yeah, yeah, that that's another on. But once again,
we're not talking about the quarterback of the quarterback made
a hell of taking that stuff forward and he was
a Rookie of the Year. I mean, this dude went
toe to toe is a rookie against Jalen Hurts, and
you're talking about three plays away at the best plays
three plays of actually going to a super Bowl in
(20:22):
his rookie season, and he won.
Speaker 6 (20:25):
He tied, he tied Ben's record for most wins by
a rookie quarterback in league history.
Speaker 3 (20:28):
Exact, let me ask you guys a question.
Speaker 4 (20:31):
Uh, the Steelers without dk Metcalf, without Jalen Ramsey, without
Darius Slay, without Cole Holcombe, without Troy Futano, Roman Wilson,
Logan Lee, without Aaron Rodgers, how'd they do when they
went to Washington last year?
Speaker 3 (20:47):
Well, Now they won, didn't they? They beat the call.
Speaker 6 (20:50):
Now hold on to though. If you're going to do
this exercise, you have to mention micka Fitzpatrick is no
longer with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Najie Harris is no longer
with the Pitts.
Speaker 3 (20:58):
With Pittsburgh, the team.
Speaker 6 (21:01):
You know, Stop Williams, who scored that touchdown that won
the game, is no longer.
Speaker 3 (21:05):
Are we're stopping there? You stopping that three?
Speaker 6 (21:08):
I forgot to mention, we're getting away from the We're
getting away from the X.
Speaker 1 (21:11):
We're getting away from the X.
Speaker 4 (21:12):
No, no, no, no, I don't think we are getting
away from the exercise. That's my point. So we haven't
gotten to the Steelers yet, right, No, we're really not that.
We're not even close to.
Speaker 3 (21:21):
The Steelers yet.
Speaker 4 (21:22):
And the students just added all the guys I mentioned, Yes,
they subtracted those other guys. We should mention it. By
the way, I had mentioned wan Thornhill. There's a lot
of guys I didn't mention, so Chuck fark So. So
the students went down there to to Washington beat the
Commanders right now have added to their roster and are
still not as deep as the Commanders.
Speaker 3 (21:42):
Is that correct?
Speaker 6 (21:43):
You know who wasn't? He was not there for the
Steelers though, Is mister got him to jump off sides?
Mister dangerous himself? I mean, who knows. Maybe if us
doesn't get him to jump off sides, you know, they
end up winning that game.
Speaker 1 (21:53):
And uh and you think Russ. But we're taking the
quarterbacks versus Aaron's count.
Speaker 6 (22:00):
Is gonna be better, all right? Last one, last one
here because number fourteen is the one that really sticks
in my crawl the most. Yeah, and then we'll go
to break and continue this exercise. The Cincinnati Bengals, it's
slopping way get out of here here.
Speaker 1 (22:16):
I don't care.
Speaker 6 (22:17):
They got a top four quarterback in the league. They
got the best receiver in the league. But other than that.
Speaker 1 (22:22):
Receiver duo, let's give a receiving duo. But that defense
is got awful. We just talked about a stet. They
have an NFL record from a year ago of scoring
thirty plus points and still losing the game. All of them,
all of those are you kidding me? And they don't
They don't even have that pass rusher on the roster
or their first round draft pick who they drafted to
(22:44):
be opposite said pass rush.
Speaker 6 (22:46):
They went zhero to three uh in games in which
or they had three losses, sorry, in games in which
they scored thirty eight or more points that have never
been done in NFL history.
Speaker 1 (22:57):
And this and that roster is better than ours at
fourteen without a quarterback too, kiss you.
Speaker 6 (23:04):
If you take Joe Burrow off the Bengals right now
and give them.
Speaker 1 (23:07):
They are drafting number one over they.
Speaker 6 (23:09):
Might draft number one overall next.
Speaker 1 (23:11):
Year, like easily the Bungles. I mean, they are really
the Bungles without Joe Burrow if you get lugged into
that one because they got the number one pick that year.
Speaker 6 (23:20):
If you give them, you know, Joe Flacco or Kirk
Cousins or some journeyman quarterback like that, they might get
the number one overall pick.
Speaker 4 (23:27):
Next year exactly four and five two years ago under
Jake Browning. They're not as deep as it. Well, okay,
all right, yeah, I don't buy it. No, I don't
buy it either.
Speaker 3 (23:36):
All right, we needn't take a break.
Speaker 6 (23:37):
Let's take a break, and then we'll tell you where
the Steelers are on this list, and we return.
Speaker 4 (23:40):
You're inside the locker room with King and Stark's presented
by our neighborhood to Ford Store here on the Steelers Audio.
Speaker 2 (23:45):
Network, Iheartradios Live coverage, i'bout twenty twenty five Steelers training Camp.
He's presented by Fadex where Now meets Next and also
drought to you by cg Our Wholesale Roofing and Siding
Supply Center, by Tons Appliances, by Always Safe Flagging and
(24:06):
Traffic Control by Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, by Schneider Downs,
by Hassa's Steak and Seahouse, by your neighborhood Forward Store,
by Castle Rock, by Clearview Federal Credit Union, and by
US steel.
Speaker 4 (24:23):
And we welcome you back inside the locker room with
King and Starks, presented by your neighborhood Ford Store here
on the Steelers Audio Network. We are going through an
interesting exercise because we started this program talking about Yesterday's
preseason game, Saturday's preseason game and lauding the depth of
the Steelers, and our friend West Yulder came through an
(24:46):
index finger up in the air and said, hang on
a second. Now, I've got something from ESPN, the worldwide
leader in sports, talking about the depth of every team's
roster minus the quarterback position. Do you want to give
us the quick for those who just joant to just
give us the quick rundown to where we are now
and we are not yet at this year, this laid honest.
Speaker 6 (25:07):
Starting from the top number one, the Eagles, Ravens, Lions, Broncos, Packers,
that is their top five. Bill's Chiefs, Houston, Tampa Bay,
and the Vikings round out your top ten. Niners eleven, Rams,
twelve Commanders thirteen, the Bengals fourteen, the Chicago Bears fifteen.
Speaker 1 (25:28):
Chicago Bears are fifteen fifteen. Hey, listen, I will give
it to them. They have allocated a lot of resources
to making Caleb Williams great. Yep. But at the same time,
this team was not that great last year. Just want
just want to throw that out there. But apparently they
have better depth this year out of the quarterback at fifteen.
(25:53):
And I would even argue, listen, if we're gonna do this, okay,
I would give Chicago a notch above the Bengals. They're
behind the Bengals, which I don't get because they have
they had I have pretty much every drafted Yeah, exactly,
They've drafted and acquired an immense amount of free agents,
(26:13):
draft picks that they've thrown all to get Caleb Williams
off the ground, right he you know, he's you know,
I won't call him a full on albatross yet, but
he was struggling, like guys were quitting mid play. I
watched that I called that Arizona Chicago game and watched
DJ Moore walk off the field while the play was
still going. Wow, because he was so upset. And that
(26:36):
team is ranked fifteen behind the Bengals, but well in
front of the Steelers. Got it? Okay, okay, we can
continue with the exercise. Sorry, I had to get that out.
Speaker 3 (26:45):
Nope, no, thank you for that. Rhetorical statement.
Speaker 6 (26:48):
Number sixteen and this is an interesting one to me.
I think they're probably about I've.
Speaker 1 (26:52):
Had mine also, Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 6 (26:54):
I think sixteen is probably about fair the Raiders. Yeah,
I mean when you can center of the teams that
are in the two spots in front of.
Speaker 1 (27:02):
Them, Yeah, exactly. I mean this, this sounds of this tracks.
Speaker 6 (27:05):
They got some weapons on offense, they got some guys
on defense.
Speaker 1 (27:08):
Brock Bowers is a hell of a is a hell
of a target. YEP, I will give them that. Max
Crosby really really good. Ashton gent best running back in
the draft this year.
Speaker 6 (27:19):
Their line was much better down the stretch. At the
end of last season, it.
Speaker 1 (27:22):
Did get marginally better. I had I had three Raiders
games last so sorry, I had four Raiders games last
we had one. Yeah, we had one and and.
Speaker 3 (27:30):
I had How did that go for the Steelers?
Speaker 1 (27:33):
Once again? We beat that team? Yeah, with Justin Fields.
Speaker 4 (27:37):
Okay, so just curious to see how the Steelers did.
So that's the third team, the students beating the road,
who have a deeper, better roster than the Steelers who
had pro Bowler.
Speaker 3 (27:48):
Okay, just just just wanted to be for rhetorical sake.
Speaker 4 (27:51):
Just wanted to rhetorically historical by the way, you know, so, uh.
I have been known to be wrong men many times.
So when the Bengals drafted Jamar Chase, I was like, man,
they should draft Penney Sewel put him at left tackle
and and and protect Joe Burrow. I don't I mean
(28:11):
Seoel is really good. I'm not sure that comment age
as well.
Speaker 3 (28:15):
No it is not. I think that was. I think
you were wrong with the capital R on that one.
Speaker 4 (28:23):
So I when the Browns turn came to pick they
traded down, got an additional one for next year, right,
and passed up on Travis Hunter.
Speaker 1 (28:38):
Right.
Speaker 4 (28:39):
The Jaguars we just saw traded up to get him,
and Genty was still there. I thought to myself, man,
this is the kind of thing that resurrects of franchise.
You get Genty. I don't think it would shock anybody.
I'm not saying this is gonna happen. I'm not pretty
if he winds up being the best player in the draft,
(28:59):
I don't think that's going to shock anybody.
Speaker 3 (29:01):
I'm like, wow, man, they got it first, they got
an additional first other.
Speaker 4 (29:04):
Picks, they're gonna get Genty, and then they didn't draft Genty.
I thought that would have been a tremendous coup for
the Browns had they done that. Now we'll see if
the if the defensive lineman, I mean, they want to
change the culture and they think he can be that
kind of guy.
Speaker 3 (29:18):
Mason Graham yep.
Speaker 1 (29:20):
Y sized shorter.
Speaker 4 (29:23):
I think that the feeling from Michigan he's going to
be a good football player, right.
Speaker 1 (29:27):
I just thought, good compliment, Miles Garrett. That seems to
be sort of the the But what's the issue with
the with the Browns right now.
Speaker 6 (29:35):
They have six quarterbacks, but they have none.
Speaker 4 (29:37):
By the way, can I also say this about the
about the bank door actually played really well?
Speaker 3 (29:41):
Since he did, he looked good.
Speaker 4 (29:42):
Since we're getting since we're getting into the into the well,
I'm getting into the draft waters here kind of waiting
a little bit. So we're watching the draft unfold and
we're thinking about those d linemen that are out there,
you know, Walter Nolan and the other is of Michael Grant,
the big guy at Michigan. And we're looking at these
(30:02):
guys and we're like, okay, and then all of a sudden,
there's like a little run on them and they get
to the Bengals, and the Bengals need defensive line and
pass rusher, and I'm thinking, oh, yeah, they're going to
take Dereck Harmon.
Speaker 1 (30:15):
Because they haven't gotten a defensive tackle since they got
rid of Dja.
Speaker 3 (30:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (30:19):
Uh, And that was a that was a big issue
for them, right, that was a big issue.
Speaker 1 (30:23):
What picks in front howicks in front of us was one?
Speaker 4 (30:28):
Yeah, and when they didn't pick harmonizing So we'll see,
we'll see how it all plays out. Right, Yeah, I
could be wrong on both those calls. I was wrong
on Penny School over Jama. I wanted to point that out.
I don't know if I was wrong. I mean, I
guess you were wrong.
Speaker 6 (30:41):
But it's not like Penny Souls doing very well for
yeah level Cincinnati Bengal.
Speaker 1 (30:47):
Yeah, I mean one of the best right tackles you
know in the league. You know, you put them up
there with Lane Johnson and company. So I was wrong
that far, but I was wrong. Yeah, I mean, but
you weren't. What wrong?
Speaker 3 (30:57):
Yeah, it's capital R. Yes, capital are small small w
Capitol R onng You're good?
Speaker 1 (31:03):
Yeah, okay.
Speaker 6 (31:04):
Number seventeen the Dallas Cowboys. This is the inverse of
Kingers argument. They came to Pittsburgh last year and the.
Speaker 1 (31:13):
Yeah, prime time. I don't recall that football either, Black Sunday, Yeah,
Sunday night football, number eight Monday.
Speaker 3 (31:19):
Night was it was Sundays?
Speaker 1 (31:20):
I think, so, yeah, exactly.
Speaker 6 (31:22):
Number eighteen. This one drives me nuts to Seattle Seahawks.
Speaker 1 (31:25):
What come on? Come on, Sattle Seahawks, And we took
DK back out from who do they have at receiver?
Speaker 6 (31:33):
And even if you want to argue that they are,
I don't think they Jackson Smith and.
Speaker 1 (31:40):
Boo.
Speaker 6 (31:40):
You can't argue quarterback. You can't even say, well, they
upgraded a quarterback because quarterback isn't part of this. I
think you'd be wrong. But quarterback is a part of
this conversation either.
Speaker 3 (31:48):
Yeah, go ahead, I'm sorry you.
Speaker 6 (31:51):
Sam Darnold one good season in his career, get out
of here. Number nineteen of the Starks Parish the Arizona Cardinals.
Speaker 1 (32:01):
I mean, they're okay, they're good, and they're slot because
we're saying nineteen, it's okay. But the argument is we
still haven't gotten to the Steelers.
Speaker 3 (32:14):
Steelers.
Speaker 6 (32:16):
Now, i'd have this like, I'd have this team higher
as well too. The Chargers are at twenty. I'd have
the Chargers higher at twenty.
Speaker 1 (32:21):
But they just lost for Seawn Slater.
Speaker 6 (32:22):
That's a good point after just paying him.
Speaker 1 (32:25):
So how good is that? Their depth is not that.
Speaker 6 (32:27):
Hurts that stings big.
Speaker 3 (32:28):
It's a solid that's a solid football team.
Speaker 6 (32:30):
Solid football team, not a lot of holes on that roster.
Speaker 1 (32:33):
I can see them a little bit higher, I could
say a little bit doing yep, but still in front
of the Steelers, who we haven't gotten to the Steelers.
Yeah them, that's twenty in the regular season Chargers are
twenty year ago. No, we beat them at home? Was
that at home? Yeah? That was a home game that
was like Week three or something like that.
Speaker 3 (32:50):
We're going there this year, yeah, yeah, right right, yeah.
Speaker 1 (32:53):
Sunday night football. Yeah, a fun.
Speaker 3 (32:56):
It's Sunday night or Monday night.
Speaker 6 (32:57):
King Are you ready for that?
Speaker 1 (32:58):
Friday night?
Speaker 6 (32:58):
It's Sunday night football? Youre ready that one, kinger, that'll
be one of those. We'll land at five thirty in
the morning on Monday.
Speaker 1 (33:04):
And doing that show that the best, and we'll be
and we'll.
Speaker 6 (33:07):
Be right back to the studio in ninety minutes.
Speaker 1 (33:09):
Hey, but you know it's great. I'll be home faster.
The one time all year I can actually say that
one time, the one time I can actually say that.
Speaker 6 (33:17):
Twenty one formerly of where we were just located a
few hours ago, the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Speaker 1 (33:24):
What twenty one? No, it makes makes no sense, right,
get the heck out of here.
Speaker 3 (33:32):
Twenty two Wait wait, wait, wait, wait wait, I'm trying
to chew on that one.
Speaker 4 (33:38):
No, I'm trying to show that one got massive holes
on this, No kidding massive.
Speaker 1 (33:44):
But once again, at twenty one, they're the right location maybe,
but being in front of the Steelers is where the
coggest No.
Speaker 6 (33:54):
I would that year early twenties is probably the right place.
Speaker 1 (33:57):
Probably where they are right because you did take this
swing on Travis Hunter. Adding him, that's two positions on Thomas.
Brian Thomas is a phenomenal solid line. Nah, I wouldn't
even go that far. It's just a luikin because devil
still the edge guys. Okay, Trayvon Walker, but they.
Speaker 4 (34:16):
Know there's so count those guys as defense. Right, you
have you have, you have Heinz Allen. Yeah, have Trayvon Walker. Great,
great play right and let me say this, really good players.
So why does a heinds Allen sack total drop from
seventeen and a half to I think it was nine
last year?
Speaker 1 (34:34):
Right?
Speaker 4 (34:35):
Because there's not players around him you can scheme around
that defense. Yeah, I think they had a really I
think they had a nice offseason and when I got traded,
but I think they're moving slowly.
Speaker 3 (34:45):
Right, I think you get tracked. You know, you head coach,
you have a new you.
Speaker 4 (34:49):
Have a new quarterback, and you you go out you
draft a couple of running backs. I mean, think about it, man,
they they have two running backs, one of whom they
took first, and they spent two more picks on the
running backs.
Speaker 3 (34:59):
What did that tell you that they think about their
running back group?
Speaker 1 (35:01):
Right?
Speaker 4 (35:02):
They them internally? What do they think about it? I
think Strange will be a better tight end for him
this year with the weapons around them. I think after
you get those top three receivers, there's a drop off.
I think after Strange at tight end, there's a drop off.
I think you got we just saw this team. I
think there's they've got serious issues at the linebacker position.
They have serious issues at the safety position.
Speaker 1 (35:24):
Yea is terrible.
Speaker 4 (35:28):
So I mean they went out and signed stopgap guys
and and free agents, and you know there'll be their
depth on the defense.
Speaker 3 (35:34):
You know they've added Ogba, who's.
Speaker 4 (35:36):
A guy that can rush the passerselves, they have some
depth of the pass rushing position.
Speaker 3 (35:39):
But I think they know.
Speaker 4 (35:41):
I think they're just looking for a step forward this year, right,
That's what they're looking for.
Speaker 1 (35:46):
The look.
Speaker 3 (35:47):
They're looking for a step forward.
Speaker 4 (35:48):
And then we'll then maybe next year will begin to
let's assess the line the the Maybe there's guys that
are underlooked uh or overlooked underappreciated, underlooked, Yeah under Oh.
Speaker 3 (36:04):
That just that just bought me for your goods.
Speaker 4 (36:06):
Yeah so uh so yeah, anyway, okay, I'll get off that.
Speaker 3 (36:12):
Yeah, this is me. That's me getting off my soapbox. Okay,
go ahead.
Speaker 6 (36:16):
Twenty two the Indianapolis Colts.
Speaker 1 (36:18):
Oh, no way, no, wait, we still haven't talked about
I get it. They've they've beaten us, you know, the
last couple of years. Yea last year, Yeah, beat this
last year and the year before. Yep, I get that,
but there's no depth on that. Jonathan Taylor is an
(36:38):
excellent running back. I will give them that.
Speaker 3 (36:40):
Ye.
Speaker 1 (36:41):
And what's the boy that got injured in our game?
The receiver? He's not bad, Michael Pittman. Yeah, Michael Pittman,
I get he's a good player. And DeForest Buckner is
a heck of a d line Nelson Quentin Nelson getting
a little long in the tooth, but he's still very
very But they lost. They took two of their offensive line.
They rover them to Minnesota to their starting offensive lineman.
(37:03):
Do we not forget this center in the left and
in the right guard that left so they're saying they're better. Yeah, no,
I'm not buying it.
Speaker 6 (37:12):
And finally, Pittsburgh Steelers number twenty three.
Speaker 1 (37:17):
Kiss my left pinky toe.
Speaker 3 (37:20):
I totally agree.
Speaker 6 (37:21):
I would just like it to be known that I
am shocked the panel, not surprised, not surprised, Give me
the pans. The panel of four experts who came up
with these rankings, Ben Solak, Aaron Schlatz.
Speaker 1 (37:32):
Double Bus, Seth Walder, Bupkis.
Speaker 6 (37:36):
And now it all makes sense. I mean, you got
a pit guy on the panel. No wonder this list
is all wrong, Lewis Riddick.
Speaker 4 (37:41):
Did they have any comp Do they have like a
little blurb about them?
Speaker 1 (37:45):
They did?
Speaker 6 (37:47):
They have a reason for hope, reason for concern, and
bold prediction. Reason for hope. Steelers mostly invested in aging
players this offseason, but the addition of DK Metcalf could
prove a big one for a team seeking stick ability
at wide receiver. Don't sleep on this young and talented
offensive line, which could become one of the league's best
if Roger Jones and Troy Faltanu can settle at tackle.
Speaker 3 (38:10):
So where are the weaknesses?
Speaker 1 (38:11):
Where's the concern?
Speaker 6 (38:12):
Pittsburgh's long term answer at quarterback is not currently on
the roster the quarterback Listen, I didn't write this, Okay,
non quarterback down.
Speaker 3 (38:20):
Why are we talking about the quarterback?
Speaker 6 (38:22):
It remains to be seen how Rogers and Arthur Smith
and this offense will come.
Speaker 3 (38:26):
We're not talking about the quarterback.
Speaker 6 (38:28):
I didn't right this, Kinger. I'm just saying, you know
who wrote that, Pittman, Lewis Riddick. I'm just saying right there.
You know, if you if you got less panthers on
the panel here, maybe this stuff would be more accurate.
Bold prediction The Steelers finished with five or fewer wins
in twenty twenty six after this campaign with Aaron Rodgers
(38:49):
and they finally commit to a rebuild.
Speaker 3 (38:52):
Wow what what?
Speaker 1 (38:55):
Wow? Seth Walder wrote that Wow, wow double because wow.
Speaker 6 (39:00):
So five wins next year not this year? Next year?
Speaker 1 (39:04):
Wow? But why are you projecting next year when we're
talking about Am I wrong here? And think of that?
I mean, this is we.
Speaker 3 (39:13):
Got I got that.
Speaker 4 (39:15):
I don't understand that non quarterback depth and all they're
talking about is a quarterback.
Speaker 1 (39:19):
All they're talking about is a quarterback. And then they're
talking about next year's win total they're supposed to be
for this year's depth right, are we are we nuts?
So here? I mean, apparently, man get out of here
once again?
Speaker 4 (39:32):
Committed to an aging roster? Is that what they're are
they saying that about Miles Garrett? Is he an aging roster?
Is he any aging players?
Speaker 3 (39:41):
Only t J? Watt aging?
Speaker 1 (39:42):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (39:42):
Are they both aging? Or just t J Watt?
Speaker 1 (39:45):
Apparently t J Watts aging? Okay, even though he just
paid more money than Miles Garrett's not aging? Right?
Speaker 4 (39:51):
Cam Heyward is Cam Heyward is by the way, we're
all aging, thankfully right, and older than when you used
to ard that sentence. And so I look, I'm mystified
by that. You know, we talked so this this defense,
the Steelers defense ranked let's just talk about the defense
They ranked eighth in the league last year.
Speaker 6 (40:13):
Correct, just real quick too, They did have Steelers coaching
in front office ranked this eighth best in the nationals.
Speaker 3 (40:17):
Okay, so you have that.
Speaker 4 (40:18):
That's good, right, that's good, But no, but they have
to But at the same time, they also said they
finally have to commit to a rebuil. So it's kind
of a backhanded number eight ranking. Right, You guys are
pretty good, but you need to do what we tell
you to do, which is commit to a.
Speaker 6 (40:32):
They also have this if you want something that's really
gonna make you mad, and then we need to go
to our last break. They have the Steelers quarterback room
ranked is the thirty first best in the NFL.
Speaker 1 (40:40):
Please did we not just see what was down in Jacksonville?
Speaker 6 (40:45):
Thirty first? How many teams are in the league thirty two?
Speaker 1 (40:48):
Who's thirty second? Just for postulations?
Speaker 6 (40:51):
Says because they don't have it all listed in. It's
the Browns.
Speaker 1 (40:56):
Ye, you're talking about Jacksonville. The Falcons, like I.
Speaker 3 (41:02):
Mean, Giants are balcony giant.
Speaker 6 (41:04):
The Jets quarterbacks, the Giants Saints quarterbacks being better?
Speaker 1 (41:10):
Are you the Giants got the cast the Jets? Are
we saying the Jets off? The quarterback room is better?
Speaker 6 (41:16):
That's what they're saying.
Speaker 1 (41:16):
Are we kidding? Are you kidding me?
Speaker 6 (41:18):
I am not kidding you.
Speaker 1 (41:19):
I wish I was. Wow.
Speaker 6 (41:21):
Actually I'm not wishing. I'm kidding you because this has
been good for us to three again, so we have
any I'm not.
Speaker 3 (41:29):
Sure we're we're gonna be done with this conversation.
Speaker 1 (41:31):
I'm not redis show we might have to what we
let's can get Let's do.
Speaker 3 (41:35):
Another show tomorrow j twelve.
Speaker 4 (41:37):
Man, We gotta, we gotta, you gotta chew this thing

(42:42):
horrible list. And listen, listen. We may have to revoke
their leadership. We may need to vote.
Speaker 1 (42:47):
Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (42:48):
We have to take the l out of the Worldwide
leader the ww L.
Speaker 1 (42:51):
I S Yeah, I mean that is that's pretty that's pretty.
That's pretty bad for twenty third best.
Speaker 6 (43:01):
Best best roster excluding quarterback.
Speaker 1 (43:06):
Wow.
Speaker 6 (43:06):
The craziest thing to me is the Bengals at fourteen,
when you take Joe Burrow out of the equation, that's
the craziest thing to me.
Speaker 1 (43:12):
Of all Psycho and Jacksonville.
Speaker 6 (43:14):
With Joe Burrow, they should be like twenty nine, thirty,
thirty one, thirty two.
Speaker 1 (43:18):
Like it's like I almost said, well, what's their draft position.
We're just gonna keep them in that range.
Speaker 3 (43:23):
Okay, And you know what, but the.
Speaker 1 (43:25):
Worst guys were in front of us, and this is
supposed to be the best list.
Speaker 3 (43:28):
I mean that, that's listen. You know they can do whatever.
Speaker 1 (43:31):
Listened. Those guys made made the playoffs a year ago
in front of us. Obviously, there's only fourteen and we
were in that fourteen.
Speaker 3 (43:39):
And it's funny.
Speaker 4 (43:40):
They're bullish on the offensive lineman offensive line, which I
think I think there's reason to be there's reason for
opt division, but it is it is potential. Yeah, everywhere
else in the roster, you're largely not looking at potential, right,
You're looking at you know, right, I just I'm I'm plumixed. Yeah,
I'm plumbings how you could add the pieces this to
(44:02):
youers added and and you know aging roster. I just
you know, I understand. Look, but they have they have
Jalen Ramsey for another year beyond this year. Darius Slay
signed to a one year deal. You're hoping one of
those young corners will emerge? Yeah, right, if you're if
you're looking at a roster building exercise, but you're not
looking at a roster building exercise.
Speaker 1 (44:23):
Say that's not what you're doing.
Speaker 4 (44:25):
You're looking at is this team right now, as currently constructed?
Where does the roster rank twenty third? And then where's this?
Where's the uh where's the quarterback room?
Speaker 6 (44:36):
Quarterback room? They had ranked thirty first?
Speaker 4 (44:38):
Okay, so you have the twenty third best roster with
the thirty first best quarterback room.
Speaker 1 (44:43):
So where do where?
Speaker 6 (44:44):
How many women win three or four games this year?
Speaker 3 (44:47):
They're gonna win five games.
Speaker 1 (44:48):
According to let's say or worse, I mean, I will
be I don't see.
Speaker 3 (44:53):
I can't. I just can't know.
Speaker 1 (44:55):
Thoseland because Cleveland's the thirty second best.
Speaker 3 (44:59):
Am I not on board that.
Speaker 4 (45:00):
I'm not even in the same ocean as that, right,
that's that's another vessel or another ocean.
Speaker 3 (45:04):
I'm not on board of that.
Speaker 1 (45:05):
I could even go it's a different universe than we're
not talking about planet Earth. That's an ocean on another
universe and planet X three thirty six or some some crap,
you know what.
Speaker 3 (45:15):
Okay, so let's make a note of this. What is today.
Speaker 6 (45:17):
Today's August eleventh?
Speaker 3 (45:18):
August eleventh?
Speaker 4 (45:19):
Okay, if if if the Steelers don't do what they
think we can do, what we think they can do.
I don't know if they really spend any time thinking
about what we can do. If we if if the
Steelers don't do what we think they can do, we'll
remember this date August eleventh, and at the end of
(45:39):
the year, in one of our last locker rooms, will we'll.
Speaker 3 (45:42):
Issue our apologies. Well, we'll say we were wrong, But
what if we were right?
Speaker 4 (45:47):
We will say, we will say the guy who said
that the the Bengals shouldn't have drafted Jamar Chase and
should have drafted Penny Stool apologizes for being wrong.
Speaker 3 (45:56):
Yeah, for the second time.
Speaker 1 (45:58):
But that also means we're drafting in the top ten
based off of this list.
Speaker 3 (46:02):
Yeah, that's what it says, right right.
Speaker 1 (46:04):
I mean, all indicason, we should have our first top
ten if you've got a bottom ten roster in a
bottom night well two thousand and three, last losing season,
we've had.
Speaker 6 (46:15):
To get Devin Bush in the top ten.
Speaker 1 (46:17):
But no, yes, true starting draft position. We should be
a top ten drafting team.
Speaker 3 (46:24):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (46:25):
And then and then we'll be in position to quote
unquote grab that Brent chose quarterback in that position, depending
on who stays, who leaves, whatever. And yes, we will
bend the knee and we will say we apologize that
this team could not get to four one.
Speaker 4 (46:44):
It's so interesting. I do think it is, at least
let's just leave it interesting. How different people can view
a roster very very differently. It's interesting.
Speaker 1 (46:54):
And also, I'll say hate plays into that. You're a
hater because some hater raid because we went to the
playoffs the last two years starting five count them, five
different starting quarterbacks in two years. And by the way,
we brought one back that actually took us to the playoffs,
(47:15):
and he's the backup. So we've gotten worse, is what
they're saying. That's what they're saying. And the backup for
Josh Josh Allen is. Oh, by the way, Mitch Trubisky. Oh.
The starting quarterback for the Jets is Justin Fields. Oh.
And by the way, the potential starting quarterback for the
Giants is Russell Wilson. We had all those guys, let
them go, moved on, moved on, h hit the high
(47:38):
Horse Prairie.
Speaker 3 (47:41):
Getting better.
Speaker 1 (47:42):
Yeah, yeah, we've gotten We've gotten worse because we took
Aaron Rodgers. Think about that. That's what they're saying. We
got worse for taking Aaron Rodgers and we let all
these other quarterbacks. Can he Pickett might not even make
the Cleveland Browns roster as it stands right now. He's
currently injured. And they've got like seventeen quarterbacks on their
roster and they just signed more because didn't Huntley go
(48:03):
in the sign on top of drafting two Sam Screening
and Joe Flacco and he who shall not be named
he might as well be called Voldemort over there, Deshaun Watson,
and we that's the only team we have a better
roster than quarterback quarterback roster? Did they not see what
Skylar Thompson just did to the second team of the
(48:25):
Jaguars and all their depth. Where is that? Where's that
quarterback room? Because we just went ahead to head with
them with our two and our fourth quarterback and we
beat their top three.
Speaker 3 (48:37):
That is Max Starks. He is Wes Euler.
Speaker 6 (48:40):
I am Rob King, Sorry for getting you going here
in this hour.
Speaker 4 (48:43):
Man Bob Labriola and Tom Offerman are coming up next.
We thank you for being inside the locker room with
King and Starks, presented Bury Neighborhood, Ford Store.
Speaker 3 (48:51):
Here on the steel there's Audio Network
