Speaker 1 (00:00):
I want to stand alone in front of the world
in that oncoming book bank like a Chinese boy that
we all have thang. So, wait, you're telling me it's
beyond my own control whether I like food or not.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
That's true.

Speaker 1 (00:14):
There's a new.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
Study that came out that says your brain decides a
food is healthy or tasty in two hundred milliseconds.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
That's very quick. Yeah, because this was fascinating me. So
it's the Kennel and Casey John Rob that's Casey. So
the other day I mentioned that, you know, my wife
is always like we should go on a date, and
then I say, okay, cool, and then I come up
with all sorts of suggestions and then she's like, that
sounds like a lot of work.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
It's true.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
Finally I told her, I said, we were going, like,
we're going to do something I arrange for my parents
come and watch Livy. And so I had won that
Remember I won that shrimp eating contest at the Women's
in It basketball tournament at Butler and my payoff was
a gift card to the company who owned Saint Elmo
and they owned several known entities here in Central Indiana.

(01:04):
And we ended up going to Harry and Izzy's, who
also owns Nice get a big fat steak. Well, I
did not, because I was going to keep us under
the the gift card gift card. The guy was floored.
The waiter was very nice. He was glord that we
were able to keep it under the gift card amount.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
You must not have ordered a nice bottle of wine.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
She had some wine. I was like, I'll take the
water things. I'll have bread feed her. Anyway, she really
wanted the in honor of me getting this gift card
for winning the shrimp eating contest. She wanted the the
shrimp cocktail with the and I guess the sauce is
the same by the same people. And I mean, if
you've never had the shrimp Elmo cocktail sauce, have you

(01:44):
ever had it?

Speaker 2 (01:44):
You better like horse horse radish. Oh, it's brutal horsey sauce.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
It's brutal. Like when I was doing the shrimp beating contest.
The problem that we had was that I got through
one and then I was like, I better be careful.
I'm gonna choke because you're trying to get it down
some us because that stuff is so hot. Okay, an't
want to choke but too. My team was so far ahead.
I said, as long as I don't choke or die,
we're going to win this thing.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
And I you know, in the competition, do you have
to use the sauce? Well, it's yeah, there's touching no
matter what, you're going to get some.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
It was a halftime Women's in It basketball tournament shrimpeting conscius.
There wasn't like a lot of rules officials going on. Yeah. So,
I mean it was on the stuff, but it was
like you have to dip it it. I mean it
was dipped in it, but then you know, falls off whatever,
it's still all on there and it's like crushing it.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
Right.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
So I was talking to the guy about this and
one of the things that's testing to me is you
can eat some of that stuff and it takes a
like a second for it to hit you. So you'll
eat it and you'll go, oh, thisten too bad, and
then bam yep. So but you're saying this is much
faster than that.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
Yeah, Well, according to the study, your brain decides very
quickly whether you're gonna like it or not. You don't
even have to taste it. You can just look at it.
And go no, I'm not gonna want that, no kidding.
And that happens to me a lot of times.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
You know, my kid does that and I growing up.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
I always to you, how can you have an opinion
if you haven't even tried it. Yeah, well, my brain
already told me. That's the study that backs that up.
That is crazy. Yeah, So there is some merit to
my kid looking at something going no, no, I don't
want that, Yeah, because her brain has already decided whether
she's going to like it or not before it's even
hit her lips.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
Now, my child is a pig. She will eat about anything. Yeah,
she's a good eater. Although sometimes she will tell me
she wants something and then I go to great links
a banana, yeah, or apple? Or she did that the
other night, said she said apple. I said, do you
want an apple? Or you just saying apple? She very
clearly eat apple? Okay, great, you got to cut the
you know, the skin off the apple right there, all
this work, cut all this off hand it to her.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
No, And I said, you just send you wanted the apple?
What's going on? And my wife looks at me and goes, well,
it's because she's two years old.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
Well, she's learning the art of manipulation very quickly.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
And I told her, I said, yeah, she's a dishonest one.
That's what she is. She's a dishonest two year old.
She thought she wanted an apple. And then my wife,
she very calmly said, I can't believe I married you.
What did you do with the apple?

Speaker 2 (04:08):
I ate it, of course, I let it go to
Waite And you will play that role for the rest
of your life.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
That's right.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
You're gonna have to finish up what she doesn't eat,
or that food will go to waste.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
Speaking of finishing up, it's time for us to finish
up this program, all right.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
Thank you Rob, thank you Kevin, and thank you for
listening today. This has been Kettle and Casey on ninety
three WIBC.
