Speaker 1 (00:07):
Like with fake seituation pressure going deep down the field
for next Yep.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
He counted his head.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
He is, Wow, why did it make sense for you.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
To come to Pittsburgh? I think it was just the organization.

Speaker 1 (00:23):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
Me and mister Tomlin had a great talk, even dating
back to uh you know, at the combine. I remember
our meeting very vividly, and you know how good of
a coach he was, how good of a person he was,
and just the organization in general is very historic and
uh no better division I think than the AC North.
So you know, just decided to bring my talents here.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
What do you remember about that combine meeting with him?

Speaker 2 (00:46):
One thing that stuck out to me was the way
he complimented me on my playstyle, even when I was
in college and even after the combine, just meeting him
after the games or before the games, he would always
compliment me about my play style. So that just really
stuck out to me. That another you know, opposing team's
head coach would take the time out of his day
or you know, his game plan just to come up

(01:07):
to me and you know, just compliment me just meant
a lot to me.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
He always says he's a football junkie. There was a
lot of those clips going around from NFL films of
when the Steelers and Seahawks played each other, and you know,
he would say, gotta double him, cover that guy. What
does that mean when you see something like that.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
Well, he knows who I am as a person and
as a player, and you know, I don't have to,
you know, try to sell myself on anything. Like you said,
he's a football junkie, so he watches enough film and
he knows a good player when he sees one.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
Kas he is man.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
He is here, hustle, don't sleep on him just to
be in the same realm or just to be complimented
as such. That just meant the world to me.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
What do you know about an Arthur Smith offense?

Speaker 2 (01:48):
I think it's a very West Coast centric offense to
where he's gonna feed the ball to the X receiver.
They're gonna run the ball heavy, so you know you
gotta have.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
Receivers that can block physicality exactly, Yes, mam. He preaches
that all the time. In terms of the players. Has
anybody reached out.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
To you who do you know?

Speaker 1 (02:04):
Just from being in the football world.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
Cam Heyward reached out to me. Pat reached out to me,
and Cal and Austin reached out to me and just
told me how excited they were that I was joining
the team. And you know, I just reached back out
with the same excitement that can't wait to be back
in Pittsburgh with them, and you know, just started to
get to know all the rest of my teammates.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
Did coach talk to you about coming from an NFL
bloodline something that he covets and enjoys.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
No, man, he didn't bring on my pops, but you know,
just my my pops definitely instilled the physicality aspect of
my game into me.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
Though. What's the best piece of advice that he gave
you in terms of football?

Speaker 2 (02:40):
Always work hard, and I think the hard work is
a good foundation for you know, everything that proceeds after,
you know, with my play style, So always working on
my craft, always trying to get better, and you know,
always just trying to win football games, no matter what
the case may be.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
I know, in previous offseasons you've taken acting classes, learned
sign language, or you have to any the soft season.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
No, just trying to refine my skills and acting and
sign language. Got to get back on my al my
asl grind this offseason.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
Okay, in culinary school, where did your love of cooking
come from?

Speaker 2 (03:12):
Just watching my parents cook growing up. If football didn't
work out, that was my second coming, I think was
becoming the chef.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
So what's the best thing you can make?

Speaker 2 (03:21):
H You got to ask my fiance that I think
she's she's the best judge of my food at the moment.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
What do you like to make?

Speaker 2 (03:27):
I like the experiment with chicken or southern flavors, so
putting a little spin on southern comfort foods?

Speaker 1 (03:34):
Is there anything else you want Steelers fans to know
about you that they might not be able to find
on Google.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
Besides, I'm just here to win football games and do
whatever it takes to help this team and organization win. No, ma'am,
I think that starts me go all

Speaker 1 (03:46):
Right, thank you, thank you,
